sghdjd ok perhaps controversially going to say that idt lando is an unsubstantiatedly self-flagellative dude? most of his public low moments come from feeling solely responsible for a poor showing relative to the performance ceiling of the car/team that weekend. if we alr suck he's not going to be like omg it's MY fault we suck u kno... and seeing how saturday shook out (13s gap to P2 🥲)...... we were never going to convert that win even if bro hadn't bottled lap 1. sad but true

the way i read the ferrari bet line was him being pleasantly surprised with how well we did on a track ill-suited to our car. unfortch managing one's expectations is merely a muscle you develop by virtue of being a mclaren driver (and by extension a mclaren fan 😔). it is what it is !

also Much can be said about the correlation of dawg & mentality with wdc hopes but in the interest of being brief! fast, reliable, driveable car + competent strat dept + manageable politics to performance ratio + scrub teammate...... it's HARD to round up all the tangibles that amount to a gainful title bid. while certainly necessary and useful, dawg alone does not a champion make. and anyways lando has enough of it over the net course of a season

Gideon would not be some suave fuckboy picking up chicks like skittles and somehow having Harrow as the person that settles her--Gideon has been starving for home and belonging since before she was born, Gideon doesn't know how to interact with strangers even if she barks out something aggressive or recites some line she's read, Gideon nearly blacks out when a girl she finds pretty implies the most minuscule of interest in her.

Gideon is also, without question, submissive when it comes to her relationships, and while she spits like a startled cat at Harrow (rightfully so, I will point out, as their relationship before Canaan House was violent and cruel and oppressive), she responds immediately and desperately to even the faintest taste of approval.

Even when we're in her head, even when we see her make some brazen statement or thought, even when she lashes out and tries to be bigger and bolder than she feels, we still see how awkward she is. She's an unsocialized teenager without peers. She's an absolute mess with no experience. She's the isolated teen who learned everything from material marked as too explicit for her a bit too young and took the scripts of them and then nearly choked on the reality of talking to a pretty girl who wasn't beating the shit out of her in a circumstance she could rightfully resent.

She sat there wanting Harrow to kiss her so bad, Nona dipped down to offer her relief that fell hollow as soon as Gideon knew it wasn't from her morbid mistress of bones. She's a performative little shit. An anxious, floundering, helpless butch who is quite literally dying to have someone use her, want her, and who doesn't know what to do with it other than artlessly throw up her feathers.

homestuck was so perfect for autistic teenagers bc it took characters being sorted into categories and having Attributes to its absolute extreme. forget four hogwarts houses, every character has their associated colour their zodiac sign their associated animal their dream planet their god tier class and aspect their typing quirk their pesterchum handle their weapon their planet of x and y, as well as each of them having a handful of other very quantifiable Personality Traits and Interests (e.g. this one is a clown this one is angry this one likes fashion this one is just rufio from hook for some reason) and THEN they all also have their respective ancestors and dancestors(?)(plucked that word from my memory) who have all of those things as WELL

and god not to mention the fucking quadrant system
