hey this might sound weird but im currently writing a story that heavily involves talking about the experience of being aroace. i js wanna be as accurate and inclusive as possible so if you could share some thoughts or experiences you think should be included that would be literally incredible
thanks! <3
I don’t mind at all! I think a big thing in the AroAce community is a feeling of loneliness. Not just because you won’t have a traditional romantic/sexual relationship with someone. It’s also a big feeling of loneliness within alloromantic/allosexual groups and even lgbt+ groups. I think the video by Jaiden Animations does a really good job at showing that. There’s a lot of pushback from people that Aromantic and Asexual aren’t real and that romantic feelings and sexual feelings are the same. Those are a lot of the issues that AroAce people, like myself, have to deal with.
Obviously the experience of being AroAce isn’t just all negatives though. Aromantic and Asexual are both spectrums and there are lots of different specific identities within them. It’s not just black and white. A big misconception about Aromantic and Asexual people is that you don’t want to be in those types of relationships or you have a low libido or you haven’t met the right person yet, etc. This isn’t true. Being aroace means you have little to no sexual and romantic attraction. You can still have sex with people or date people.
Some people of course don’t want those types or relationships but some do. Some people want a type of family unit. Living with someone who will always be with you maybe even have a child. All/most of it being platonic. This is what we call Queer platonic relationships. When you have a relationship with someone that is in between platonic and romantic/sexual. It can vary between different people because aro and ace are spectrums. It can be with someone almost like a life long friend who you live with. It can also be a life long friend who you might kiss and have a kid with (adopted or otherwise) even without the romantic and sexual attraction. Of course with these types of relationships you have to fully communicate what you want and how you feel.
I will now get into the specifics of how I personally feel. This paragraph will of course not be the same for everyone on the aroace spectrum. I personally am repulsed by the idea of sex. On the other hand I’m a hopeless romantic which makes me with I had those feelings towards people. It’s very hard for me to imagine what being attracted in those ways to people would be like. I don’t understand crushes or when people are called hot. Even though I long for a romance once I actually get one I feel absolutely disgusted when people flirt with me or kiss me. I love my friends and family dearly and I hate being called a robot for not wanting to date someone. I hate whenever having a friend you care about (especially one of the same gender) always turns into an investigation from everyone about whether or not you like them. Especially in school.
The biggest thing I want people to take away from this is that if anyone ever try’s to understand or represent a group (especially if you’re not apart of it) you should ask people who are. Multiple people, especially when those groups are spectrums like the Aromantic or Autism spectrums for example. I hope that I could in some way help you with your story. <3

Just a heads-up for speculative biology
Tumblr media
While I am still researching and seeking ways to incorporate even more flavour into 16^12 as a documentation atlas / encyclopedia-worthy setting guide overall (especially over alternative technologies, linguistics & cultures), I figured that a bunch of people could really appreciate some more speculative biology resources, games and a handful of considerations / suggestions over lesser-known topics of world building related to such worth considering.
Starting by providing external resources with a couple YouTube channels and some other related resources:
There are way more, but those should give you great insight into the process of speculative contemporary biology as we are aware of right now.
Now, as for my own suggestions, beware that they mostly pertain to foreign time-wise "ecological niches" if you even can call such existential domains that. Either mythologically-inclined, automated lively constructs or literally far, far ahead in time.
Cosmogony & early mundane life suggestions
Tumblr media
For ease of reach, I will use the Christian + Hellenistic Classical Greece mythology as a referee guide for meta-physical representation. Could be any mythos, invented or real, it is all true if you count the whole of existence for all I care. But that specific one is one that most people here reading this would know of.
So the creation of the Universe, Earth, Eden and the War in Heaven between Lucifer and Saint-Michael (so not the Apocalyptic scripts, that's custom-tailored flattery fan-fiction by my worldview but whatever...) feels like a logical progression of steps where a root system (some call it God, I call it the existential root likewise to how it is shown on Linux he-he-he) divides themself into smaller and smaller units (first into grander agents and going ever so smaller down to the smallest of axioms...), and then those divide the world into domains of their choosing and executing roles / functions across the wider cosmos...
Sounds like a computer bootstrap process, doesn't it? Well yes, but it is also akin to the ecological niches and adaptation process of what we are most aware of as life that you can emulate and customize as you wish to if you so desire.
You can also extrapolate / interpolate from such a divine / ethereal starting point and make them have all kinds of children species, automata and lifeforms. I would advise going through an "Angelic Constructs" to "Transformers" route for the first mundane plane lifeforms, kinda similar in agency and functionality as our early analogical robotics, both emulating the process of a child learning by playing with toys and also starting very simplistic (like how the simple rules of a cellular automaton like Conway's Game of Life may result in very complex behaviours on the grid) until they build on top of each other significantly.
But you can do whatever you so desire, as the reference model does divide some of the upper tier angelic court beings into themes or existential roles (and does the same for those of whom from such who became upper level Hell governors). It is simply a strong recommendation to emulate the iterative process of life and agency, as that builds a strong world-building cohesion and nuanced depth to the set of variables you tinker with as a creative, engaging people further into its intricacies.
Elderly universe
Tumblr media
As I apply the same rules over and over again, I tend to figure historical patterns (likewise to those of sound-tracker's music) and re-utilize the content I enjoy most where relevant. That's part of my research and iterative process. And it turns out that as I feel (and went through several psychic experiences) around and about far futures, it mostly sticks to some vague approximate guesses I make.
Granted, I will definitely make use of some mystery, secrets and quantum choice principles across for the things I am really out-of-reach for knowing, but I can give you some subjective tips of mine to derivate cosmically far futures that both works realistically and feel great to tell exaggerated stories over. (Not always needs to invoke eldritch by any means too, I prefer to give a more nihilistic-optimistic yet esoterically-grounded take on things because I am somewhat tired of dark and dire traumatisms-centric stories of contemporary times)
First, I persist into assuming there are sapient lifeforms (mechanical and divine ones are guaranteed) of some kind across the full spectrum of time. Granted, I have bold vision even for humans and other fully biological intelligent folks to survive even past the red dwarves' major era death into the iron stars period, even without involving much use of magic in the setting period. But it is worth keeping somewhat because entirely lone sapient individuals in such a late era don't exist in a vacuum and needs a few things to persist there for longer than a couple of minutes.
Second, on the same vain I tend to have at least one major native species of this time-wise era either they are time-travelling dwellers, timeless beings or just sapient individuals who stuck around as species for that long. It really gives a vibe of being so elderly as a universe, with cultures, languages, history, knowledge and nuances worth investigating. It is a mechanic I will take full advantage of into my very own worldbuilding if you are curious.
Third, consider realistically "conservative" (as in, with the least change involved) estimates of history, entropy and perhaps timely tourism into consideration for your world(s) and interpolate relevant data for such as needed. There are still going to be changes across the board in the broad spectrum of time, but I would guess that somewhen things will settle down (or at least lower the variation / valence and quiet somewhat more compared to the current cosmos we live in) as the universe becomes less habitable for our definition of life, which are really intricately complex and sophisticated lifeforms.
It really goes to show that if one can imagine / ask a question about anything, it is real somewhere in the whole of existence (perhaps you prefer calling it an omniverse, but not me). And, in this instance, that reinforces the notion that there may be a handful of tourists into the edge periods of time present for all sorts of reasons, no matter how sparse or few of them there may be. Also, it applies the other way around too, especially as my story has a certain emphasis unto a (younger than the elderly majority peers, aka a late teenager / young adult) character agent who wraps back in time for quite mundane reasons really...
Thanks for reading this messy info dump (initially meant to be a shorter article production than the other articles I had in my drafts, oups...) and I wish you good luck.

Revolutionizing Autism Treatment in UAE: Exploring Innovative Technology-Based Interventions
Tumblr media
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a complex neurodevelopmental condition that affects individuals' social interactions, communication, and behavior. In the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the pursuit of cutting-edge solutions for autism treatment has led to the integration of innovative technology-based interventions. In this blog, we delve into the transformative landscape of autism treatment in UAE, exploring novel approaches that harness the power of technology to enhance therapeutic outcomes.
1. Telehealth Services: Bridging Gaps in Access
Autism Treatment in UAE Through Telehealth
In a country as vast and diverse as the UAE, accessing specialized autism services can be challenging, especially for families residing in remote areas. Telehealth services have emerged as a game-changer, enabling individuals with autism to receive therapy remotely. This approach not only breaks down geographical barriers but also provides a lifeline for families who may struggle to access in-person interventions. Through video conferencing and online platforms, therapists can engage with individuals on the spectrum, ensuring consistent and tailored support.
2. Virtual Reality (VR) for Social Skills Training
Enhancing Social Interaction in Autism Treatment in UAE
Virtual reality has transcended gaming and entertainment, finding a crucial role in autism treatment in the UAE. VR offers a safe and controlled environment for individuals with autism to practice and refine social skills. Therapists can design scenarios that simulate real-life social situations, allowing patients to navigate social cues and interactions in a controlled, stress-free setting. This immersive approach has proven effective in improving social communication and reducing anxiety associated with social interactions.
3. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Apps: Personalized Learning
Tailored Autism Treatment in UAE through ABA Apps
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a widely recognized therapeutic approach for autism. In the UAE, the integration of ABA principles into mobile applications has revolutionized the delivery of personalized interventions. These apps cater to individual learning styles and adapt based on the user's progress, providing a dynamic and interactive learning experience. Parents and caregivers can actively participate in their child's therapy, extending the impact of ABA beyond traditional therapy sessions.
4. Robotics-Assisted Therapies: A Futuristic Approach
Incorporating Robotics in Autism Treatment in UAE
Robotics has entered the realm of autism treatment, offering a unique and engaging avenue for therapy. Socially assistive robots, designed to interact with individuals on the autism spectrum, provide consistent and predictable social cues. These robots can assist in teaching emotional regulation, enhancing communication skills, and fostering a sense of routine and predictability. The UAE has embraced this futuristic approach, recognizing the potential of robotics in complementing traditional therapeutic methods.
5. Sensor-Based Wearables: Monitoring and Support
Continuous Support through Wearable Technology in Autism Treatment in UAE
Wearable technology equipped with sensors has emerged as a valuable tool in the continuous monitoring and support of individuals with autism. These devices can track physiological indicators such as heart rate, sleep patterns, and stress levels, offering valuable insights into the individual's well-being. In the UAE, the integration of sensor-based wearables in autism treatment provides therapists and caregivers with real-time data, allowing for timely adjustments to therapeutic interventions.
Conclusion:
The landscape of autism treatment in the UAE is undergoing a transformation, driven by innovative technology-based interventions. From the convenience of telehealth services to the futuristic integration of robotics, the UAE is at the forefront of leveraging technology to enhance the lives of individuals with autism. As these interventions continue to evolve, the synergy between traditional therapeutic approaches and cutting-edge technology promises a brighter future for those on the autism spectrum in the UAE. By embracing innovation, the nation is not only providing hope and support to individuals and families affected by autism but also setting a precedent for the global community in redefining the boundaries of neurodevelopmental interventions. As the journey of innovation continues, the UAE stands as a beacon of progress in the field of autism treatment.

2021 Favourites
In no particular order. This is content I've read and watched in 2021, not necessarily content released in 2021.
Books
1. The Watchmaker of Filigree Street by Natasha Pulley: m/m 19th-century fantasy. I love the intricate plot of this series. Book 2 takes place in Japan, which makes it even more interesting.
2. The Velocity of Revolution by Marshall Ryan Maresca: queer and poly urban fantasy set in a secondary world. This amazing stand-alone novel has telepathy where the characters can end up in somebody else's body. Think Sense8.
3. [Spanish] Cada Seis Meses by Clara Duarte: f/f magical realism. This is my favourite Spanish novel. The love interest only exists six months a year. The plot plays with the butterfly effect.
4. Cute Mutants by SJ Whitby: sapphic and trans/enby superhero fiction (YA). This is a novel series, despite the comics-sounding titles. I read a lot of original superhero books and this is my fave.
5. Iron Widow by Xiran Jay Zhao: m/m/f science fiction. I also read some original giant robot novels and this is definitely my fave. I love how it's inspired by Chinese culture and mythology.
6. The Unraveling by Benjamin Rosenbaum: science fiction with two invented genders. In this far-future stand-alone novel, people have several bodies with only one mind. Perfect for fans of Ann Leckie.
7. The Darkness Outside Us by Eliot Schrefer: m/m science fiction (YA). Try to go into this book knowing as little as possible. It has horror vibes of the quiet "we're two people alone in the middle of space" variety.
8. The Papercutter by Cindy Rizzo: f/f dystopia (YA). The United States have split into two nations: the United Progressive Regions and the God Fearing States. Jewish pen pals use a secret code via traditional papercuts.
9. Jinx Ballou, Bounty Hunter by Dharma Kelleher: thriller with a trans woman protagonist. This action-packed series deals with serious themes, but also has fun scenes where the protagonist cosplays and goes to conventions.
10. [French] Tant qu'il le faudra by Cordélia: LGBT contemporary fiction. This is my favourite French series. A group of diverse people write an LGBT magazine. It's a brilliant mix of activism and romance.
TV shows
1. Word of Honor: BL wuxia. This c-drama is mind-blowing, nobody knows how it went past censorship. It has an excellent plot and beautiful visuals.
2. Heaven Official's Blessing: BL xianxia. This donghua is full of sweet flirting. I love the plot and the gorgeous art. There's also going to be a c-drama.
3. The Wheel of Time: heroic fantasy with some f/f + polyamory in the background. This is very pleasant to watch thanks to its focus on women and on characters of colour.
4. Legend of Yunqian: GL time travel (part wuxia, part contemporary). This c-drama is a quick watch, with 15 episodes of 4 minutes, but it packs a lot.
5. Motherland: Fort Salem: urban fantasy with some f/f. This is another excellent series with a focus on women and on characters of colour.
6. Color Rush: BL magical realism (YA). This k-drama is based on the concept of Soulmate AUs: you only see colour when you're with your soulmate. It's movie-length, with 8 episodes of 15 minutes.
7. MCU TV shows: Loki is bisexual and genderfluid. I also like the deaf representation in Hawkeye and the Black representation in Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
8. Y: The Last Man: science fiction with a trans man major character. The plot could have been better, but the trans representation is very well done.
9. Light On Me: BL romance (YA). This k-drama's protagonist is on the autism spectrum. It has an all-male love triangle.
10. Young Royals: m/m romance (YA). This amazing Swedish show is about a gay prince finding love at his boarding school.
Movies
1. The Yin-Yang Master: Dream of Eternity: BL wuxia (not to be mixed up with The Yin Yang Master, though it's pretty good too). Both of these movies are Chinese adaptations from the Japanese novel Onmyoji.
2. MCU movies: some m/m in Eternals. I love that we're finally getting more diversity in the MCU, not only with Eternals, but also with Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
3. The Matrix 4: science fiction by a trans woman. Objectively, there isn't much LGBT content, but subjectively, the movie has a lot of queer/trans energy.
4. Snake Eyes: action movie with BL vibes. I know it isn't exactly popular, but I thought it was as good with Japanese culture as Shang-Chi was with Chinese culture.
5. You Make Me Dance: BL romance. This Korean movie is a lovely story about a professional dancer and a debt collector.

Preference: Telling Them You’re Autistic
A/N: The following portrayals of autism are largely based on my own experiences. As a result, there are some traits that may or may not have been mentioned or portrayed. This does not by any means invalidate your own manifestations, however. At the end of the day, autism is a spectrum that consequently leaves us all with our own personal experiences and struggles -- and I have yet to hear of even one that is easy, let alone “ideal”. While I know that I can’t guarantee a reflection for every symptom, I still hope that some of these resonate or even help with recognition that the traits of autism expand further than what we may initially learn -- especially if you, like myself, are only just recently learning how deep the rabbit hole goes. 😅 Enjoy!
Characters: Tadashi Hamada, Clark Kent, Helena Bertinelli, Dewey Finn
Tumblr media
Tadashi Hamada
Tumblr media
He’s really glad that you felt comfortable enough to tell him. Being on the spectrum shouldn’t be a big deal, but he also knows that not everyone may feel comfortable confiding such a personal topic with their partner.
There’s plenty of people at SFIT who are somewhere on the spectrum, so he’s already somewhat familiar with certain commonplace traits.
Will ask you if you have any particular manifestations that he should be mindful of: If loud noises overwhelm you, would you like to have specialized headphones on standby? Are you okay with visiting him in the general lab space, what with everything that happens to go on? Are there any textures in food, clothing, or otherwise that he ought to steer you clear of?
If you’re okay with it, he might also ask you for input when he updates Baymax. The medical field and how we respond to it is and should always be changing and expanding. In the event that a Baymax unit should be confronted with an autistic person experiencing a meltdown or in need of assistance, they need to be prepared. Interviewing you on some lesser known traits can come in handy like that.
Given his tendency to encourage people to look for different angles or to change their perspectives, he’s quite intrigued when you express how the world presents itself to you, or how you explain your feelings. You tend to be rather abstract, almost literally painting pictures with your descriptions of moods or opinions. Admittedly, they can sometimes be so specific that they run the opposite of intention and confuse him. But he insists there’s no need to feel embarrassed about it, encouraging you to try to break things down for him to better understand. All the while, he’s perfectly fine with also pulling his end by trying to decipher “The (Y/N) Code” (his little name for your metaphors and similes and such).
One of the best partners to have if you have a special interest! Tadashi is like a personal cheerleader when it comes to his loved ones, so it’s not out of his depth at all to listen to you talk about whatever subject your heart is in. Given the studious sort of person he is, he’s prone to approaching it like any other subject to be learned, and it’s not out of the ordinary for him to put in the footwork and look into whatever you’re interested in as a side study of sorts.
While it could be argued that just him listening to you and talking to you about your special subjects would be more than enough, it’s more than worth it to him to make a comment or observation about the topic and see the surprised but gleeful look on your face.
Being the sweetheart he is, Tadashi will take it upon himself to make you a custom-made fidgeting device. Which is both sweet and honestly a bit humorous, considering that what ought to be child’s play for the robotics major is actually him stepping out of his element and nearly having to reverse engineer something into a tiny, non-near-sentient thing. Would it be easier for him to just buy you something instead? Admittedly yes. But by making you something so personal, it really tells you he’s in this for the long haul and will always be your biggest supporter.
Sometimes, articulating can be hard for you. Especially when it comes to talking about your feelings or explaining a process that makes perfect sense in your head, but may require some assembly once it leaves your mouth, so to speak. Thankfully, you’re far from being the first person Tadashi cares about whose excitability and frustrations can also sometimes get ahead of themselves (cough-Hiro-cough). He would implore you to take your time and try to find methods of helping you better word your thoughts, being the ever-patient person that he is.
He knows how stressed you can get from just being yourself, or even from trying your best not to be. He readily acknowledges that while you’re just as capable as him, there are still some setbacks you have in other areas, and those limitations can be very frustrating. And sometimes, they make you react a little less than what you would consider to be ideal. Tadashi isn’t about to lie and say that those are easy things for him to experience, or for him to watch you experience — because they’re not. They can be worrisome at their best and heartwrenching at their worst. But if there’s a truth Tadashi will tell you, it’s that he’s there for you, warts and all. Because as cheesy as it sounds, he’s not giving up on you.
Tumblr media
Clark Kent
Tumblr media
Occasional oversensory issues? Feeling somewhat alien even amongst peers? Clark can relate.
He knows how difficult it can be to adjust to certain stimuli, or how suddenly sensory overload can hit even without any previous episodes, so he’d be more than happy to help you cope when sounds or lights become too intense for you.
Will gladly get you out of an environment that stresses you out. He may not be as good as Bruce at slipping away unnoticed, but for a 6’1” guy with a deceptively muscular frame, he does alright at sneaking out. And in the event you can’t easily get away, he’s perfectly fine shielding you with his suit jackets or his mass or his hands. Or just offering you his hand to hold for consolation. That’s pretty nice, too.
If there are certain foods you do or don’t like because of texture, smell, or taste, he’ll make note of it. If something you won’t eat has health benefits, Clark will look into any potential alternatives to assure that you still gain some nutrients. If there’s a food you obsessively eat, however, he’ll gladly indulge — to a point. He trusts you to be able to self-regulate but will keep an eye out for you just to be certain you’re getting the right amount of vitamins.
Even though he knows you can hold your own, it’s in his nature to be protective of you. That sweet and innocent disposition of his doesn’t mean that he’s incapable of intimidating: The moment he thinks somebody might think funny of you for any irregular-looking stimming, Clark is immediately by your side, smiling down at you before smiling at whomever may be casting a dirty look. Only . . . the smile he gives them is off. The person won’t be able to explain it, but it’s a very muted smile for one thing . . .
Clark is blessedly patient as a whole, but you can’t stress enough how important this is for you when the two of you are in social settings. Most people may find it odd that you occasionally rely on him to help you order food at a restaurant, for example, but Clark doesn’t mind it one bit! Communicating can sometimes be stressful, and that’s nothing to be ashamed about.
Something that’s also helpful about having Clark as your boyfriend? His cheery and sweet demeanor just seems to mellow the environment out. Sometimes a joke flies over your head, or you unintentionally respond to an apparent joke with bemusement or annoyance. It’s not that you lack a sense of humor, it’s just that sometimes your brain’s static sometimes immediately assumes the most literal conclusion. And unfortunately not every jokester recognizes this; thankfully, Clark does. His calming smile and willingness to explain the joke to you quickly defuses any sense of embarrassment and for that, you’re beyond grateful.
He understands how difficult it can be responding to a sudden shift in patterns or a perceived avoidance of a rule (or, in some cases, “rules”). Maybe not as intensely as you do, but he gets it. Hence why Clark will never judge you when you seem to be getting more frustrated than the average person probably would over seemingly small things like last minute changes in schedules or people disregarding minor rules in public. He will, however, maintain his saintlike patience and just ever so gently attempt to nudge you back to a calmer equilibrium. He’s more than happy to help distract you and pull you away from whatever’s bothering you. Maybe he whips out his phone to show you a cool stim video he “just so happened to find.” Maybe he brings up another subject you feel passionate about, but it’s a passion born from intrigue and excitement. Or maybe he just flat out lets you rant to blow off the steam. In the end, even if you feel embarrassed and an intense need to apologize, Clark insists that the issue isn’t that you got mad. Anger rumination can be distressing, especially when deep down you don’t always even necessarily want to be so upset in the first place. But like many other things big and small, you can’t always help that. You just need help sometimes to process that anger and learn to recognize which things are and aren’t worth burning so much fuel over. He knows it’s frustrating, but he believes in your ability to do better. You just got to give yourself some grace.
Because as perfect as you like to think your boyfriend is, he’s still perfectly human with very many missteps to his name, and lessons he’s had to learn in order to adjust to a world not necessarily made with him in mind. It’s exhausting as hell, and that’s why all alien humans ought to give themselves some grace in this crazy world.

Helena Bertinelli
Tumblr media
“Okay . . . So what does that mean?” she asks. “Well . . . It means quite a lot of things,” you offer. “But for me specifically, it just means I have trouble making eye contact sometimes, I need a rhythm for certain tasks or things or else I might get mentally overwhelmed, I can get overly defensive because I may take things too literally, and a bunch of other stuff. That’s just off the top of my head, though.” “...Wait, whut?”
(You thought there was one autistic bitch in this house, but there’s two!)
Of course, there are other factors to consider before jumping to conclusion. After all, being raised in secrecy and trained with the end goal of killing as an act of revenge in response to the trauma of being the sole survivor of an execution doesn’t tend to do anything positive for a person’s social skills or temperament.
But that still doesn’t quite account for easier-to-miss things such as rehearsing conversations or lines, an intense interest in the crossbow, certain speech patterns, slight difficulty emoting in spite of her best efforts, finding keeping long hair on her physically uncomfortable, etc. Though, for Helena, these are of course pretty normal -- and not just because it’s all she’s ever really known. All in all, she just couldn’t help but assume nearly everybody did certain things like this. Well, that, and she didn’t really care to think about the logistics of some of them.
Besides, you two aren’t that much alike, so how could you both have the same thing going for you?
“It’s a spectrum: It varies.”
Honestly, not necessarily too much changes in the household, being that you both pretty much existed in a rhythm formulated by two neurodivergents already. Though suddenly it starts to make more sense to Helena why you sometimes flap your hands as if shaking away water that isn’t there, particularly when you’re upset or thinking. Or why you sometimes let her do the talking in small scale public situations. Or why you constantly feel the need to plan things out.
These weren’t things that particularly bothered her before, mind you, she just didn’t get why you did them or seemed so driven to do them. But considering how she acted, and that the two of you lived in a city that was known for having all sorts of characters, she just didn’t think it was necessary to venture into it.
If you have dyspraxia, she might take it upon herself to help you improve your muscle strength by teaching you archery. Of course, being that this is Helena, she can come off a bit . . . passionate, with some regards. But there’s no reason to dig deep down to understand that this is kind of a big deal. After all, archery is one of her biggest interests: if she’s sharing it with you, then it’s really no different from someone sharing their personal passions with their lover. And considering how protective she is of her crossbow, letting you touch it is a pretty good sign that she trusts you.
Sometimes she will ask you if certain things she does could be a sign. When you confirm that, yes, Helena, you messing with the wheels on your toy car in order to calm down or feel better is a stim and can be seen as a symptom (but it doesn’t have to be)”, it’s usually met with a surprised “Sonuvabitch!”. Or, if she’s in a calmer mood, a wincing, “God-fucking-dammit.” Not because she doesn’t want it to be so, but because geez, autism just corners the fucking market when it comes to a personhood, don’t it? And sure, you can stifle a smirk of amusement about it, but you really do understand how startling and frustrating it can all be.
It can be rather jarring to be this far in life and learn there’s still more to you than what you’d initially thought. Especially when that “more of you” is a disorder that explains practically everything about you, from why you may not like certain textures to why you interact with people the way you do regardless of closeness. But the good news about it is that at least you don’t have to keep exploring those parts of yourselves alone.

Dewey Finn
Tumblr media
“Oh, snap, two neurodivergent bois in the house, whaddap!?”
In all seriousness, though, he isn’t quite sure of how to respond. Not in a bad way, Dewey just isn’t sure how much needs to change, if much at all. “Well, some more organization could be good,” you offer. “Though, that’s honestly more for your benefit as a grown-ass man.”
To your surprise, though, he actually does a bit more than that: He actually does research (non-music-related research holy shit) and suddenly, those little things he interpreted as quirks are starting to reveal themselves to be a little bit more complex than just that. Everyone bites on things from time to time, but he just assumed your tendency to bite on things like bottle caps or straws was just you relieving stress -- and it was, but not in quite the same way as he’d thought. And he already knew his sloppy tendencies bothered people, so while he respected your frustrations for the sake of being a decent boyfriend, he didn’t really think much of it when you became very frustrated whenever he misplaced something or applied things in a decidedly disorderly fashion.
And suddenly he thinks back to all the times he’s dragged you to places that could’ve easily overloaded your senses . . . God, there were so many . . .  He already knew he could be loud for anyone, but . . . Oh, god, your delicate ears -- !! Immediately, he feels bad and apologizes profusely.
Of course, there are things that you personally have to tell him that many websites surprisingly won’t discuss, let alone in reference to being an autistic adult. Things like how meltdowns aren’t tantrums, and that not all adult meltdowns are even that outright. Sometimes, they’re quiet and easy to miss . . . He feels awful for all the times you probably felt alone and like you were screaming inside. But the good news is that discussing your triggers and how you respond to them opens up the floor for better communicating. Dewey’s never been fond of ticking you off, even if it’s accidental, but it really helps him to better understand the parameters are for you and why something as simple as a sudden change of plans may hit you a little harder than it probably would any other person on the street.
You had always been stimming since before you had gotten together but Dewey’s never been the most observant guy -- he didn’t think twice about you pacing the apartment or laying on your back in bed, kicking a pillow in thought. The most curious he got was asking what you were up to, and being that you were a bit embarrassed to be seen doing it, all you could offer was a sheepish, “Uh . . . thinking?” “Oh, okay, cool. You want anything from the deli?” Once you break down what all stimming is, good or bad, though, he starts to recognize just how much stimming you do -- the both of you. He never realized that there could be so much overlap between autism and ADHD but now you’ve got him looking at some of his actions in a whole new perspective. For example, the little finger flexes he does, as if reciting guitar chords? The little dances he does when excited? Him singing his sentences? Yeah, it’s in part because he’s a musical guy, but it’s also due to the fact that he’s gotta let that energy out somehow. And clicking a pen or twiddling his fingers ain’t gonna cut it!
(Might also unintentionally pick up some of your stims, so don’t be surprised if Dewey starts rocking on the balls of his feet or swaying seemingly out of nowhere.)
As a result of his studies and observations of you, Dewey becomes more aware of certain traits in others. Particularly, some of his students.
He doesn’t want to diagnose them, especially since it ain’t his job, but sometimes he does notice certain traits in certain kids. He won’t confront them or their parents about it, but he will at least try to make an effort to make his teaching methods or classroom environment a bit more efficient for them if they appear to be struggling in some way. So don’t be surprised if you come home to see him actually attempting to do math and figure out a budget to propose to Rosalie about headphones for the classroom.
He Gets It™️ when it comes to having intense interests. He may not get the subject your special interest revolves around, but he’ll try his best to keep up and respond with matching enthusiasm. It’s not always enough to overpower his confusion, but you still greatly appreciate the effort.
Of course, none of this changes and comes into fruition over night. Even with the revelation that your brain actually has a strict coding on why it functions the way that it does, it doesn’t suddenly wipe away the decades of tendencies Dewey’s had up to this point, including the ones he’s been steadily trying to get better at. He’s still an entire person with his own idiosyncrasies, just as you are. So when it comes down to it, it’s about finding a balance that works for the two of you.
There are some days when he gets frustrated with you or you get frustrated with him. There are some days where he just doesn’t get why you can’t overrule those certain “rules” you have set in your mind and, likewise, says where his impulsiveness or loudness cause your anxiety to spike. And there are, unfortunately, some days where your irritability gets the better of you and you both need some space. But there has never been a day yet where you decide nothing is going to work, or that it’s just not worth the trouble. There’s never a day where Dewey decides he needs to stop trying to figure things out with you, and while there have been moments where you’ve shut down on him, it was never to a point where you would reemerge and decide that he was a trigger for you. There’s nobody who you’d rather brave these scattered storms with! And as confusing as watching and listening to you explain your experiences, Dewey thinks it’s even more wild to just live it: the fact that in spite of all these obstacles, you still find the time in the day to kick all kinds of asses both big (a la masking) or small (a la letting yourself indulge in your special interests) is pretty hardcore in his opinion. Yeah, there’s sort of a system in place, but, hey, hardcore comes in all shapes and sizes.
Is it ever going to be absolutely perfect? No. It wouldn’t even matter if you were with Dewey or not; these types of things never make it easy. But the key difference here is that Dewey is the sort of person who tries when it involves people he cares about. And considering he cares a lot about you, he’s going to keep trying to learn and unlearn whatever he can to help you with finding and establishing that balance. (Just . . . make sure that you’re just as patient right back to him.)

CHAPTER TWO
“Perri's Letter and Spinel's Revenge”
It was another boring day at school. Today I avoided Steven and Connie, at least until things cool down. Now Perri and I are walking to her house, later going to see Lexi. I suggested we go right after school, but poor Perri had a meltdown when that phone addicted bitch Sophie teased her about liking Lexi. Saying “A spaz like you can't date someone like Lexi Joel. You have a better chance at hooking up with your catnapping psycho of a friend.”
I would have said “go fuck yourself and stuff your mouth with a dumb jocks cock.”But I kept silent to avoid more trouble. Even though she's a threat to my relationship with Steven, she went too far attacking my wittle buddy. After today, she will pay.
“So. How you feeling bud.” I comforted
“A little better Spinel, thank you, for walking with me.” Perri lamented
She didn't seem any better, so I stopped walking and placed my hands on her shoulders. She jolted a little bit, she does that when someone touches her without her knowing, I need to stop doing that.
“Perri, please don't worry about Sophie. She will never bother you again.” I reassured Perri
“You don't know that Spinel, you can't just make her disappear.” Perry doubted
The truth is I can, and I will.
“Just, please trust me okay. She won't hurt you anymore.” I asserted, starting to get annoyed
“I-,hmm. Okay Spinel, I trust you. Now can we please go to my place.” Perri faltered, noticing me getting annoyed.
Even though Perri and I been friends for a while, there were times I lost my shit. One time in elementary 5, Perri had this cute green alien head chewy. Back then Perri would chew on the collar of her shirt, so Brooklyn got it as an alternative. Later, a boy by the name of Ronaldo ask if he could play with it. Perri didn't say anything, she looked away from the fat little shit. He started to get annoyed and grabbed her arm. When I saw tears running down the poor kids face, I said. “Don't touch my fucking friend, she doesn't want to share. So piss of you bitch-ass comic book reading fat pussy.” After I stand up for my nerdy buddy, the little shit started to ball his eyes out. So I got detention for the weekend, and then Grandmother Whitney put a bar of soap in my mouth. She's an amazing Grandmother, but if you push her buttons she can be a mean old hag.
We finally arrive at Perri's place, it's a cute little cabin-like house. With a more rustic style unlike my home, a traditional Japanese minka. Once we walked to the door, we were greeted by the outgoing Brooklyn Fitzgerald. A fierce and friendly soul, who looks out for her friends. She works as a lumberjack at the local saw mill, fell in love with the stubborn lawyer Pearl Harpor and once one first place in the wood chopping competition at the county fair. Brooklyn was always that person you feel comfortable around, she is a great role-model for Perri and always wants the best for her. She's like the cool aunt I never had, and the only adult I feel comfortable around that isn't my family.
“How you doing kids, I made a tray of onigiri for an afternoon snack.” Brooklyn greeted
“Thanks mom, we're here just to get a bite to eat, spinel and I are going to a study group at the library.” Perri replied
Perri doesn't lie often, but she's surprisingly good at it. It's scary if you think about it.
“Well okay Perri, but remember. Always have your phone, come back home before six, and don't walk in Black Hawk Clan territory.” Brooklyn directed
“Well of course mom.” Perri acknowledged while to two of us walk inside
Their house interior was like one of the those shacks in the movie Friday the 13th. Brooklyn kept it very well maintained, she may be a lumberjack but she's a amazing carpenter.
“I'll be back Spinel, I'm just getting some things from my room.” Perri called, going to grab the letter
“Alright Perri.” I concurred while eating some homemade onigiri
“So, umm. Spins, how's Perri doing.” Brooklyn worried, she's not always the serious type. But when she is, you need to listen and shut up.
“She's, okay. Why do you ask?” I denied, having a good feeling what she's going to say.
“I got a call from the school, saying that Perri had a meltdown.” Brooklyn took a deep breath and continued. “Spinel, I know your aware that Perri is a little different than the other kids. She thinks in a different way and does things differently.” Brooklyn fretted
“I think you are aware of this Spinel, but Perri has Autism.” Brooklyn said looking that she's not finished speaking.
I was aware that Perri isn't like other kids, that why I like her. I love that she would ramble on and on about robotics, AI and Elon Musk. I love that she has that burning passion to expand her learning, even if it's just one topic. In a way, Perri's like a little sister to me. I love her because she's unique, not mediocre like those bimbos at school. She's her own person and doesn't follow a crowd.
“There were many incidents that kids would tease her because she's on the spectrum. They would tease her for being jumpy, they would pick on her because she wouldn't play with the other kids. And let's not forget the time a student grabbed her over a god damn chewie.” Brooklyn bawled, on the verge of tears. Even someone as strong as her can feel defeated sometimes.
“I'm scared spinel, I'm scared that my little girl will get herself hurt. After the diagnosis her father couldn't take it and left. Saying that he wanted a normal child with a normal life. Pearl has a hard time dealing with Perri sometimes, but she still cares about her. All I ask is Spinel, please look out for her.”
“Brook, things won't be like this forever. There's a lot of people with autism and live great lives. Overtime they grow and learn how to cope, Perri's still a kid. She's going to be an amazing person one day. Building robots or something. The point is that sometime people outgrow these problems, it's sometimes doesn't bother them or they cope with it. Your very lucky to have a daughter like Perri. You just have to remember that every successful person had those days that they want to give up. But they keep pushing until they reach their goals. Just like Perri.” I monotoned
“You maybe right Spins, Perri has been growing up. It just seems like yesterday she didn't need her chewy anymore.” Brooklyn hoped
“See, everything's going to be okay. Sophie won't bully her anymore, I promise.” I concluded
“Alright Spinel, lets go to the library now. ” Perri intrupted
“Be safe girls, look out for one another.”
It took us 30 minutes by bus to arrive at the Black Hawk clan's main nest, I don't know why they would call it a nest but whatever. Their nest was a giant old warehouse outside of town, it had a barbed wire fence all around the headquarters. Like those fences you see in prisons. There was a giant chain link fence for the entrance, two bikers were guarding it carrying AK-47s.
“Yo what the fuck, you can't be-, ohhhhhh. It's the catnapper. What business do you have with the Black Hawks.” Thug one marveled
“Is that what they're calling me now, it was psycho bitch last week. We don't what any trouble, we just want to see the road captain.”
“Wait are you talking about, Lex. Hah,well Spins, we can't let you just see the road captain. You have to talk to the founder first, she decides not us.” Thug two announced
“Oh for the love of god.” I whispered to myself
“Well, can we see. Fucking, Jasper or someone.” I badgered
These biker act so tough and fearless. But really, their just a bunch of leather-wearing douches.
“Ahhhhh, if it'll make you shut the fuck up then sure. ” thug one complained
The two annoyed thugs opened the gate, Perri and I walk cautiously into the nest.
Inside the warehouse wasn't any better than the outside. On the left side, there was a bar with tables, chairs and stolen arcade game machines. The right side was their business operation, with safes, factory equipment and a security system. Every biker gang has their source of income. It can be drugs, weapons, cigarettes or anything valuable on the yami-ichi.
The Black Hawks are the kingpins in the drug industry, but they don't just sell any type of drug. They created their own drug that is booming in the Japanese black market. It's called Menohoyō, meaning eye-candy in Japanese. Menohoyō is made just like regular eye-drops, because it is eye-drops. The only reason why it's addictive and illegal, is because it's made of 45% of diethylamide. A main chemical component to make LSD. There's been cases all across the world, reaching places like Brazil, United States and even Russia. There has been many gangs and drug cartels trying to replicate this drug, but all of them failed. Today, the Black Hawks dominate the drug industry, even bribing politicians to keep their business running. It's greasy business, that's why I want Lexi to get out when she still has the chance.
In front of us are the three masterminds of the whole operation.
Jasper Alder, the founder of the gang. Sitting on an old puke green recliner and smoking a five inch Pyramid cigar. She was born in Tokyo and was a target for bullying because she has vitiligo. Due to the bullying she became a mean bitch, once she broke a kids arm because she called her giraffe. Later in life, Jasper got into bodybuilding and motorcycles. Causing her to follow the wrong crowd. She got involved in a lot of crazy shit involving rival gangs. Once she turned twenty-three, she created the Black Hawk Clan. She called it that because one day, her father and her were hunting hawks. A giant common black hawk attacked her father and scratched his throat, causing him to bled to death in the middle of the woods. Jasper manage to shot the hawks wing and flew off. For three nights she was searching that hawk. Later found it on the ground near an old Japanese Wisteria. Jasper chose not to put the bird out of its misery, instead she watched it bled out for three minutes. So long story short, she's twenty-five and runs a drug cartel now.
On her left was the president of the clan, Eleanor Monsoon. She was Jasper right-hand gal, those two used to rob gas-stations when they were teens. Eleanor was also known for her great grandfather being in the Imperial guard divisions during WW2. That's where she gets her fierce comanding attitude.
On the right was the Vice President of the clan, Persephone Windsor. Nothing to special about her, all I can say is she's a snobby bitch born in a very rich family, she supply's most of the equipment and weapons. She's a narcissist and a manipulator who will destroy lives to get her way.
“(Puffing a smoke) Well, I didn't expect to see the pip-squeak and the catnapper today. ” Jasper snarled while inhaling on her cigar.
“Let me do the talking Perri, I got this.” I whispered to Perri
“Hi Jasper, hows the gang and so. Also can we talk to Lexi.” I urged, trying to convince the butch
“(Puffing a smoke). Well Spins, if you have business with the road captain you have business with me. Now spill the beans crazy.” Jasper chided
“It has nothing to do with.Business. We want to see Lexi, because-”
“Because I want to get to know her better, and hopefully she'll get out of this dirty, greasy motorcyclist club you call a business.” Perri interrupted me and dared Jasper
Thanks a lot Perri, we're fucked.
“How dare you, a worthless pest like you speaking to the founder like-” Persephone chastised
“Wait. Hold on your saying you want to hangout and bond, with the black hawk clan road captain. Out of all the nerds at your snobby school. You choose an angsty, hot-headed, with drugged up parents and possibly slept with more guys than you know how many bones are in the human body. So tell be spaz, what makes you think a nerd like you, can ever be with someone as fucked up as Lex. Because honestly, you can do better.” Jasper insulted
I saw that Perri was starting to get upset, but instead being sad, she got mad.
“You, you don't know anything. How dare you talk to someone like that, your not any better you, you, you f-f-fucking clod.” Perri exploded
It would take a tiny miracle to get us out of this shit.
However, the three bikers looked at each other with confusion. There was a silent pause, until.
“...............Haaaahahahahahahahaha.hhaaaaaaahaaahahahaahahahahhaaaahahah.” The three clan leaders burst with laughter
Perri expression turned back to sadness, trying to hold in her tears.
“Hahahaaahhaa, is,haha, is that the best you got tiny, hahhahaha. That's fucking pathetic, hahaha. Oh look at me, I WUV Lexi, hahaha.” Jasper mocked
I could see Perri starting to sob, I wanted to say something but that would be a suicide mission.
“Perri and Lexi sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-” the three clan leaders laughed and mocked
“What the fuck is happening, it's like a fucking circus in here. ” Lexi interrupted
Thank God she's here
“Perri, Spinel. What are you guys doing here.” Lexi gasped
“We were going to see you, until these donkey's stop us from doing so.” I explained
Lexi then turned her attention to the brainy-baby.
“Hey, hey, hey. Perri, my dude. I'm here, it's okay.” Lexi tried comforting Perri
“(Whimpering) it's good to see you again rockstar.” Perri sniffled
“It's good to see you to buddy.” Lexi sympathized
Lexi then turned her attention to the three douches
“What the fuck did you three do.” Lexi accused
“Lex, know your place. You do not bark at me, or I'm sending you back on the streets like the runt you are. ” Jasper retaliated
“Well I guess you have to put be back on the fucking streets, because no one talks to my friends like that.” Lexi condemned
It warms my cold heart to see Lex care so much for Perri, it's so sweet.
“Ah you fucking bitch, alright. You can see your, friend now.(inhaling on her cigar).” Jasper said in defeat
“Come on Perri, is there something you wanted to tell me.” Lexi adviced
“One second Lexi.” Perri protested
She turned her direction towards me, running up to me and giving me a hug. It was a tight hug, like a bear hug.
“You are the greatest friend in the world, I'm so lucky to have met you.” Perri chirped
I still didn't understand this platonic affection, this is the second time in a row, and I don't feel anything. My heart feels heavy and silent, there's no emotion. Why am I like this.
But to make her feel better, I hugged her back.
It lasted for 3 minutes, everyone in the warehouse was staring at us. But I didn't care, as long as she's happy.
She finally let go and walk towards Lexi, both of them waving goodbye to me. I guess it wasn't such a bad day after all.
“Hold on Spinel, just a minute.” Jasper asserted
I spoke to soon.
“Even though I'm letting your friend hang with the road captain, you still have to do something for me in return. ” Jasper decided
“Jasper. I can't be your drug mule.” I stated
“Don't worry your panties off, your not delivering drugs. I've chosen something that you may like. Do you know Sophie Turner.” Jasper explained
“What about her.”
“She hasn't been paying her IOU's for the Menohoyō's she's been buying for her parties. She keeps saying “My dad is rich, I'll get your money, stop bugging me, bla bla bla.” So because of her I'm losing money, she's my top buyer in Akuma no tochi. So what I need you to do is, take her out.” Jasper offered
Well isn't that pure irony.
“I think I can do that Jasper, but I'm going to need some equipment.” I demanded
“Sure, anything. You just can't tell the clan was involved.” Jasper added
“I need a hacksaw, trash bags, bleach, cleaning supplies, nails and the key to the saw mill.” I listed
“Done. Go to our SGT at arms, Ruth. She'll get you what you need. Remember Spinel, this never happened.” Jasper concluded
Once I reached the exit, a familiar voice called out for me.
“Spinel, Wait. I want to talk to you!”
Well what do you know, I thought Ryan was the last person who would talk to me here.
“Listen Spinel, I did some thinking and wanted to apologize about yesterday. I took my frustrations out on you, it was wrong. I should have never called you runner-tits, your a beautiful, smart girl. One day, some very lucky guy will meet you. I'm sorry.” Ryan apologized
I didn't expect someone like Ryan to say that, it took a lot of guts to admit something like that. I respect that.
“I forgive you Ryan, no hard feelings.”
“Thank you Spinel, I'll let you go now. But remember, the Black Hawks have your back.” Ryan thanked
“Your welcome, I'll see you around.”
It is time, time to give that bitch what she deserves. Good thing I didn't give all that birthday cake to the meow-meows.
I finally arrive to Sophie's place, no ones home but her. I have everything I need to silence her for good. And it all starts with a piece of cake.
I walked to her door and placed a small pink box on the doorstep. I knocked on the door and hid behind a bush.
“Hello, is some out there. Justin you better not be fucking with me.” Sophie cautioned
“Oh, what's this. (opens the box) aww, it's a piece of cake. I guess Justin isn't a dick after all. ”
Sophie picked up the cake from the box and went back inside, without locking the door. I quietly snuck in behind her, when I found out that she took the bait. I always make the best cakes, thanks to Momma. But for this special occasion, I added my secret ingredient.
I saw her take the first bite, then the second, and finally the third. Until she took her fourth bite.
“Mmmh mhhhh- ACK,ACK. Gahh. Barf.” Sophie said while gagging and puking blood
That's right, the secret ingredient os nails. I placed a couple of small nails in the sweet-treat, hoping it would tear her esophagus apart.
“Aww, did poor wittle Sophie bit off more than she could chew.” I teased her while kneeling down beside her.
“Who's a spaz now bitch. I would have came for your ass later. But you had to pick on my wittle buddy. That's one step to far.” I rasped
I looked at her in disgust while watching her struggle to breathe. This was the first human I ever killed, I'm tired of releasing my pain on cats. Taking them from their owners, putting them in a bag, and slamming that said bag onto the concrete floor! Who ever knew inflicting pain on someone like her can feel so, pleasurable. Reliving. The pure horror in their eyes fills my desire, my desire to butcher these whores that stand in my way. I shouldn't have done this sooner.
“ACK ACK ACK, gahh. Fuck youu, you psychotic cun-(pukes blood). Barf. Huff, puff, huff, puff. Huff...ack....ack...ack.........ah.” Sophie cried her last words.
“Just so you know, it's homemade not store bought.” I joked
Well that took longer than I expected. I had to saw her in ten part, bag them, clean the floor, bleach the floor, dispose any evidence, take the body parts to the saw mill and shred them up. I also had to burn my cloths as well, at least I brought a spare set. But it all ended smoothly. I got my revenge, and now only five more rivals to go. Perri can now see Lexi anytime, I hope they worked out, they'll make a cute couple. Even though school sucked ass at least it ended on a positive note. Now time to go home, and great my amazing famil-.
“Hey. Spinel.”
Okay who could that be.
I turned around wanting to know whose behind me. And oh fuck I wish didn't. This day was perfect for Perri and I, and she's the last person I wanted to see, God damn it!
“Hello Spinel”
“Hello. Connie.”

Butters Stotch Application
IN CHARACTER:
name: Leopold “Butters” Stotch
age: 23
gender ( pronouns ): (GNC) Cis male, He/Him
sexuality: Bi ace, Closeted
occupation/role: Vault Dweller turned Raider & Tinkerer/Engineer
location/faction (Check the About page for factions! Feel free to be creative!) : He kind of wanders around a lot with his travelling partner (henrietta app incoming i think?), but makes camp outside New South Park on occasion.
personality: Due to how he grew up (read below), Butters has developed a few odd traits. He speaks with a country accent, but otherwise his voice is completely robotic. He’s extremely intelligent, especially with anything to do with electronics, metal, etcetera, but has little to no emotional or social knowledge and is exceptionally naive, gullible and blunt. Follows orders perfectly, which can be either really good or really bad seeing as how he doesn’t understand sarcasm in the slightest. The only emotion he seems to display properly is worry. As you’d expect from a raider, he’s a pretty fucking wild dude. Even though he shows little emotion on his face or in his voice, he’s known to sport the smallest hint of a smile while he brutally dismembers and cannibalizes people he either strongly dislikes or thinks are too weak. Deals with schizophrenia and is on the autism spectrum.
bio ( at least a paragraph explaining current character situation & any important elements of their past ): Butters was ‘born’ in Vault 74, approximately one year before it’s inhabitants became deranged due to the experiment that had sat dormant for over 150 years. The vault, as most who explore such ruins of a time before the ruin of the world would come to expect, had housed an experiment to test the population. This vault’s purpose was to, through several generations, develop a group of intel-gathering/infiltration soldiers that were incapable of being swayed to telling U.S. secrets no matter the trials they were put through. The process of this was similar to Vault 75, as the two were sister projects intended to be combined at some point near mutual completion. Through a selective process, the top in each field were harvested and subsequently executed after turning eighteen, their genes used to create a more refined test-tube child. Children who weren’t physically capable but especially intelligent were allowed to become scientists and further the experimentation. New children were injected with a small dosage of several different types of mind-altering drugs and regularly subjected to white noise experimentation akin to Vault 92, usually performed by a series of robots and supercomputers including a ZAX unit and, a few generations before Butters’ birth, a highly advanced robobrain (see diana stone from van buren) created from a scientist particularly unhealthy but unparalleled in intelligence. Soon after Butters was put in the care of the robots, there was a major issue within the electronics of the vault, causing a part of the experiment intended for several generations down the line to instead be activated within the main halls. Extremely heavy dosages of the mind-altering drugs, along with subliminal white noise messaging, that had been intended for a much stronger tolerance had flooded the air, bringing everyone outside of the nursery into a manic frenzy. Tearing one another apart from outside the windows of where Butters was safe from all of it, he had watched. He was the only child in the nursery at the time, and would be the last living inhabitant of the vault. After 22 years of being raised solely by computers unable to touch, most of which unable to feel, he developed a level of intelligence and ability higher than those before him, at a cost of his social and emotional capabilities. He was eventually found by a raider named Henrietta, who had initially terrified him with how different she was to what he’d known his entire life. The two of them have been traveling for around a year now, and although Butters is still for the most part incapable of holding relationships, he looks up to her with great respect. As of now, she’s the only one who can really stop him from going batshit insane on someone.
headcanons ( optional, just an extra space to play around ):
- He doesn’t know how to throw a punch or shoot a gun at all, although he is capable of lifting, pushing and pulling large amounts of weight and throwing objects at high velocity. His strength lies mostly in speed, stealth and his knowledge of anatomy. You spot him a bit too early and it’s all over for him. - Carries around a machete, dagger and a compact bow with some arrows. Yeah, dude can’t shoot a gun, but he can a bow and arrow. His upper half isn’t really built for recoil, so it’s a lot easier for him to use. - 6'5", very lanky. His body is very obviously built with an emphasis on him using his legs. - Photographic memory, thanks to the fact he was raised by a bunch of machines that would artificially increase the difficulty of all his learning exercises to the point they’d be impossible to someone without. - Hates the feeling of human touch, exception being Henrietta. - Carries around a bunch of tools for anything related to metals, engineering, etcetera. Includes your average things along with stuff like welders and a pouch containing all sorts of scrap metals. - Plays violin and flute. - Although he has otherwise heightened perception, he’s completely blind in his left eye. If you’re quiet enough, it’s pretty easy to get a jump on him if you approach from the right side- although you’d have to face Henri’s wrath, in that case. - As part of the whole 'making him not succumb to enemies’ thing, he’s also dealt with a lot of physical pain, leaving him with a high pain tolerance and a lot of scarring.

Micheal Knowles didn’t insult Greta Thunberg
Disclaimer: I have nothing against Greta Thunberg. I share many diagnoses in common with her, and I know how difficult it can be to know what’s happening when you’re that age. I sincerely hope this whole climate change activism stuff dies down and she is able to live a happy life without this weight forever being on her shoulders. I am also agnostic when it comes to the topic of climate change, since I do not see myself as informed enough to give a proper opinion on such a complex topic.
That all being said, Micheal Knowles didn’t bring up her diagnoses to discredit her in this context. Calling her mentally ill was not an insult, and he even elaborated about where he got his source from while this other guy with a martyr complex was berating him. He got this information about her being on the spectrum among many other disorders from a book written by Greta’s own mother far before her daughter was put in front of the United Nations. That is a big red flag, especially when Greta’s mother wrote that book only to put her face on the cover and not her daughter’s, even though the book is mostly about Greta’s childhood.
Using your autistic child for political activism and fame? Oh, yeah. People are evil enough to do that. Just when I start to forget, another clearly groomed child comes into the political discourse to remind me. I see it every day. It is so common for people to use their autistic kids or their kids in general as political statements or attention magnets. Why aren’t we pointing this crap out?! This is flat out child abuse! Even if climate change is a very important topic, this 16 year old girl with multiple conditions should not be put on television to be a spectacle!
Greta is a human being and especially considering her autism being in crowds and surrounded by flashing cameras is no place for her to be. I can visably see how uncomfortable she feels in that UN speech, like she’s about to cry. I feel so bad for this poor child, who is clearly reading off of a paper in chunks and trying to act like her parents probably told her to. She is robotic in all of her speeches, and she looks terrified all the time. Her parents probably played up the fear of what climate change may or may not cause in her mind, so she is legitimately scared.
This is disgusting and I am so thankful to have parents who respected my humanity before they would brag about my autism ocd and anxiety. Sorry not sorry.

                                WELCOME TO JURASSIC WORLD
Elliot Alderson is an extremely gifted mind, especially when it comes to technology. Something which comes in handy in this day in age when nearly everything is run by computers and everyone has a second life behind a screen. Elliot has a habit of hacking the people he meets. It’s how he tries to connect, as his social skills are rather lacking. He doesn’t know how to talk to people but he does know how to read them. His secret? He looks for the worst in people. Elliot knows more than he should about the people he works with. He sees their IMs and emails. Personal histories. Their secrets. He owns it all. But that’s just a hobby.
At the Park, Elliot’s worked hard to get systems up and running. He’s poked and prodded to make sure the various systems that the Park runs on are nearly impervious to ‘interference’. There are plenty of potential threats. Protestors of the park. Competitors upset that the Waynes beat them to the punch. That pesky human error again. He had a large part in creating the computer programming that monitors all the exhibits and controls the fencing and gates. There are plenty of other projects he’s worked on but those are by far the most important.  Elliot wants everything to run smoothly. He is very focused on his work and doesn’t often interact with other employees outside those he has to. It’s not for a lack of trying but he has very serious social anxiety. He also has a dog named Flipper who he brings to work.
Note: In addition to a social anxiety disorder, Elliot has a disassociate identity disorder and an alter named Mr. Robot (FC is Christian Slater) who can be -- rather chaotic at times to put it simply but is fiercely protective of Elliot (and is likely to make an appearance during stressful times). He also is on the autism spectrum and has a form of schizophrenia along with a history with drug abuse, namely morphine. Yes he’s rather different but he’s doing his best.
[CONNECTIONS]
Leonard Snart Elliot and Leonard lived in the same apartment building in NYC before coming to the island. Neither of them are the easiest guys to get to know but Snart more than once gave Elliot a hand watching Flipper on occasion and they eventually became friends, something Elliot was in short supply of. Leonard keeps an eye on Elliot and when Elliot got the job at the park he immediately suggested that Leonard apply so he would have someone he knew there as social interactions were already such a struggle for him. The two are roommates in the same employee housing unit.

Clexa Fic Recs Part 2 🌺
I got a request to make another fic rec. (You can find the first one here.) The fics are in no particular order, but I’ve added a ♥ in front of two of my most favorite fics at the moment! I hope you find something you haven’t already read. Enjoy!
Autism by Diaph (work in progress) Summary: Lexa has autism and her girlfriend Clarke doesn't infantilise her. She is protective, and patient, and loving, but never once has she ever made Lexa feel small in that same way other people do. Clarke just gets the language she speaks, and God, does she love to try and be fluent. [Smutty, this was requested by a follower on the spectrum who proof-read it too so hopefully this is quite reflective of what a consensual adult relationship would look like for someone with Autism.]
earning it back by @sassymajesty (work in progress) - Sequel to bargaining for more. Summary:It’s been six years since she walked out on Lexa, knowing she had broken her heart, knowing she would cry and mull over the words she had said, words that were too hard, words she didn’t have the right to say, words Lexa didn’t deserve to hear. It’s been six entire years and Clarke had never expected Lexa to wait for her, but something inside of her coils tightly when she thinks that she might never be able to make Lexa understand how much she changed her life, willingly or not, knowingly or not.She owes it to herself to knock on Lexa's door and wait and pray she will let her get the words out before all hell breaks loose, before she kicks and screams and punches Clarke like she’s pretty sure Lexa wants to - if she were Lexa she’d want her head on a stick.Gritting her teeth so hard she’s half afraid of grinding them to dust, Clarke raises her fist and knocks on the door.
♥ If Love's So Easy, Why Is It Hard? by @hedaclara (work in progress) Summary: Two moms, four kids. What could possibly go wrong? The Griffin-Woods family seemingly has the perfect life, at least until Lexa’s (over?)zealousness as NYC’s top young prosecutor means she starts making some very dangerous enemies whose only goal is to remove her from the equation. By any means necessary.
Can't Tame This Wild Heart by Tanagariel | @commanderlexaofthegrounders  (complete) Summary: Clarke is excited to participate once more in the volunteer program that her mother joins every summer. Helping other communities have been a balm to her heart after the death of her father and Clarke can't wait to begin. Little does Clarke know that this time things are going to be slightly different. Heading into the depths of the african jungle Clarke will find someone who has been lost to the world. A young woman who behaves rather differently. Who doesn't speak her language and has clearly no manners. Clarke will begin a journey of discovery; finding friendship, adventure and a wild heart that cannot be tamed.
♥ The Whores' Queen by W0rldofmy0wn | @clarkethewanheda (work in progress) Summary: Queen Alexandria Woods of the Kongeda has won every battle she's ever fought. By the age of twenty she had done the unthinkable and united the thirteen great houses together into one nation; by twenty-four her great army had defeated the Reapers, a monstrous people far to the south that had been invading her land and murdering her people as long back as anyone could remember. Now Queen Alexandria must face her most difficult challenge yet: find a husband and secure her line by birthing an heir. It's the oldest duty in the book and the one that makes Alexandria's skin crawl. Nevertheless she is determined to do her duty, but when she meets a mysterious blue-eyed woman her world begins to turn upside down. When she learns the woman is nothing more than a common whore her advisers and friends suggest against ever interacting with her again, but for some reason the queen just can't stay away. Her curiosity only grows when the woman starts teaching her lessons she never knew she needed to have, and everything she learns about her makes her even more of a mystery. The queen is nothing if not stubborn though, and she's determined to figure the woman out.
Falcon by AnonBeMe (complete) Summary:Clarke is fifteen and her best friend, Lexa, is four years older. Clarke has a crush on her, but Lexa rejects her because of her age. Lexa then leaves for law school but returns seven years later. She falls for Clarke who is now a succesful artist (and Lexa now has to woo her)... But is she too late?
most ardently by @onemilliongoldstars (complete) Summary: Clarke Griffin has been forced to abandon her name and her family. She is desperately hiding in her new role as lady's maid to Lady Lexa, fumbling through her duties and hoping to become invisible, when she realises that her heiress mistress is caught firmly under the thumb of her overbearing uncle. As Lexa suffocates under the expectations of her remaining family, she and Clarke slowly realise that they may be each other's safe haven.
My Heart (Was Right About You) by EffortlesslyOpulent (complete) - sequel to Our Hearts (Have Minds Of Their Own) Summary:After their fake dating stunt fell through and they fell in love, Clarke and Lexa are getting married. Meanwhile, in order to make Lexa happy, Clarke is secretly on the hunt for her birth parents. Throw in Alie, the bone chillingly robotic wedding planner, the Delinquents and their penchant for trouble, and Abby’s attempts to make it the most perfect wedding ever- and you have a recipe for disaster. It’s a wedding rom-com sequel. And it’s angst free.
Pool by RaspberryTree (it’s a one shot for now, not sure if the writer will make it a multi-chapter fic) - For Clexa Week 2018.Day 1, “Meet Ugly”: Lexa finds her girlfriend in bed with another woman.
The Peace Within by darkchakram (work in progress) Summary: Star Wars Clexa AU. Clarke Wanheda Griffin is a Jedi Apprentice in the Old Republic who has special skills as a peacemaker and negotiator. Her mettle will be tested when she’s brought face to face with her dark side opponent, Sith Apprentice, Leksa kom Trikru.

Revolutionizing Autism Treatment in UAE: Exploring Innovative Technology-Based Interventions
Tumblr media
In the realm of healthcare, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been at the forefront of adopting cutting-edge technologies to enhance the quality of life for its residents. One area where technological advancements are making significant strides is in the treatment of autism. Autism treatment in UAE has witnessed a paradigm shift, with innovative technology-based interventions offering new hope and possibilities. In this blog, we will delve into the realm of these interventions, exploring how they are transforming the landscape of autism care in the UAE.
Understanding Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in UAE
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental condition characterized by challenges in social interaction, communication, and repetitive behaviors. In the UAE, as awareness grows, there is an increasing demand for effective interventions to support individuals with autism. Recognizing the unique needs of individuals with ASD is crucial for tailoring interventions, making technology a valuable tool in personalizing treatment approaches.
The Role of Assistive Technologies in Autism Treatment
Assistive technologies play a pivotal role in enhancing communication and daily living skills for individuals with autism in the UAE. Augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices, for instance, enable non-verbal individuals to express themselves using pictures, symbols, or text. These technologies empower individuals with autism, fostering independence and improved social interaction.
Virtual Reality (VR) Therapies: A Game-Changer for Autism
Virtual Reality (VR) therapies have emerged as a game-changer in autism treatment in the UAE. VR provides a controlled and immersive environment, allowing individuals with autism to practice real-life scenarios in a safe setting. From social skills training to desensitization therapies, VR interventions offer a dynamic and engaging platform for personalized treatment plans, catering to the specific needs of each individual.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Autism Diagnosis and Intervention
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is making significant strides in the early diagnosis and intervention of autism in the UAE. Machine learning algorithms analyze behavioral patterns, facilitating early identification of autism markers. Additionally, AI-powered interventions can adapt and evolve based on the individual's progress, providing a dynamic and responsive approach to treatment. In the UAE, the integration of AI is revolutionizing the efficiency and effectiveness of autism interventions.
Robot-Assisted Therapies for Social Interaction
Robots are increasingly being employed as therapeutic tools for enhancing social interaction skills in individuals with autism in the UAE. These humanoid robots, equipped with interactive capabilities, engage with individuals in a structured and predictable manner, helping them develop social and communication skills. The predictability of robot-assisted therapies provides a comfortable and controlled environment for individuals with autism to practice and generalize social skills.
Conclusion:
As the UAE continues to embrace technological innovations, the landscape of autism treatment is evolving rapidly. From the integration of assistive technologies to the immersive experiences offered by virtual reality therapies, and the precision of artificial intelligence, technology-based interventions are shaping a new frontier for autism care. These innovations not only address the unique needs of individuals with autism in the UAE but also contribute to a more inclusive and supportive society. As we look towards the future, the synergy between technology and autism treatment in the UAE holds the promise of unlocking untapped potential and fostering a brighter future for individuals on the autism spectrum.

2021 Updates
So we finished last semester (Sem 2, 2020) on a better note that I was expecting. I received one Distinction and two Credits when I thought I was at risk of failing one unit.
I start a month long course on Monday and should be getting the pre-readings today. In the course we choose a UN sustainable development goal and work towards making progress against it locally. I’m nervous but excited. It finishes on 25 Feb which is when Semester 1 starts back up so I’ll be going straight into it. This course does have a few assessments but hopefully I’ll do well. I’m a bit hesistant about the fact it focuses on working with random people as I have social anxiety but we’re gonna try our best!
This year I need to get a minimum of 65-70 in every unit in order to get into Honours. I also need to come up with a plan and approach a potential supervisor to see if they’ll take me on. I do actually have a supervisor in mind but I’m not sure whether she dislikes me and I know she’s incredibly busy. I don’t know if I’ll end up doing honours as everyone wants me to hurry up and finish/get a job. If I can spin the fact that honours may get me a job with whoever I’m working with then they might let me. But regardless I want to get the grades so I’ll have the option. One of my classes has uploaded Youtube videos on some of the previous years content so I’ve already looked at that.
The classes I’ve got this semester are:
- Animal Ecology [ZOO]
- Evolutionary Processes [ZOO]
- Environmental Assessment [ENVIRO]
- Land Capability Assessment [ENVIRO]
where [ZOO] = zoology unit, [ENVIRO] = environmental science unit.
I’m wanting to do more this year, what I wanted to do in 2020 but didn’t manage to. Something substantial and impressive that will help people (or animals). I’m considering starting a STEM club for underpriviledged girls in my area (8-12 and 13-Year 10). They’d learn things like coding, 3D printing, microbiology, making art from algae/bacteria, robotics, etc. I also want to do that presentation about biological sciences jobs and skills for Year 11-12s at my old school. I want to get some fieldwork done finally but that will be hard considering I can’t drive. I NEED an internship this summer to fulfil that extra course I’m enrolled in that aims to increase my employability. I’m also considering starting a short environmental science program for primary and high school kids where I take them to local bushland (with help from parents and teachers) to learn some professional enviro science skills. It would include flora and fauna surveys, taking water/soil samples and analysing them, and some talks from scientists in the field.
I mentioned I can’t drive and that’s actually because I had some seizures last week which resulted in hospitalization. They don’t know what caused them and found something wrong with my heart so ontop of uni stress I’m rather stressed out about this. I’m also frustrated about the lack of answers and the fact that I can’t officially even call them seizures because no one saw them (doctors are 98% sure they were seizures though, just need the proof to confirm). But yeah I can’t really swim, do “high risk” activities or drive for 6 months. The driving is very frustrating as I was actually planning on renewing my license and booking lessons the morning of my seizure. And where I live it’s almost impossible to do field work without a license as they always want you to drive. On the plus side, at least I have a reason for why I can’t drive now though. I also spoke to a doctor and she said I may have ADHD and autism. I already suspected I had ADHD after a counsellor I was seeing suggested it but I never thought I was on the spectrum. But when I went and looked at the female symptoms of autism I had almost all of them. I can’t even describe relief I felt knowing that I might just be autistic and I’m not stupid/crazy. I’m going to start seeing a counsellor trained in female symptoms and hopefully will get a diagnosis. It would make my life so much better because then I can say “I’m not stupid, I have autism and that’s why communicating is hard”. My communication and memory is the worst part affected which makes university and the workplace incredibly difficult (has cost me many jobs) as well as making friends really hard.
But bring on 2021 and hopefully, despite the rocky start, it’ll finally be my year.
