If back then I was a fucking 20-21 year old woman, and the doctor told me I had to “take a class on sterilization to see if that was what I really wanted” and to “wait and see if I change my mind because I may want to give birth one day since I am so young”. Flash forward to now, almost 26, NEVER took that class, but have thought more about my future. Still don’t want kids naturally, rather adopt, but even then I worry about if I’d be a good parent/if I’d like having kids.
So tell me why, as a grown adult, a doctor told me to sit on it about getting sterilized (a LIFE-CHANGING DECISION), yet I keep hearing stories about how children get rushed into medically transitioning (which is more often harmful than helpful) instead of “sitting on it”, going to a class, or learning more about the procedures?????
The point isn’t that I never changed my mind. The point is I learned about the harmful affects of sterilization methods online and from personal accounts (hormonal imbalance, irreversible side effects similar to being on birth control, becoming premenopausal at an early age, risk of infection, high cost, etc). Now I’m stuck not wanting to ever give birth to children AND not getting sterilized, unless a safer, more cost-effective method comes around.
Why aren’t children getting the same treatment for life-altering surgeries? They are so much younger than I was when the doctor told me that. In a way, I was glad I had to stew on it cuz I like instant gratification and can jump into things too quickly. I am also glad that I was right about my choice from the start.

I feel like both internet liberals and leftists have a tendency to reverse-Great Man Theory Ronald Reagan at the expense of any insight into the history of his policies or the conservative movement that led up to him.

Not trying to be rude or anything but you shouldn't use the word 'manic' or 'manic period' etc. unless you actually have manic/depressive episodes because it downplays how severe those disorders can actually be. They're just words but unlearning harmful terminology like that can help destigmatise mental illness and I would hope youi would want to do that.
yeah it's almost like i used those words specifically because i DO understand how severe they are

a longer analysis needed maybe but I think we’re giving too much moral credit to white supremacists and white nationalists when we say thing like “it’s just a fight if they hate Jews or Muslims more.” They hate us both and in neither interchangeable nor neatly separable ways, just like how antisemitism and Islamophobia are neither interchangeable nor fully separable and deeply racialized ideologies that often get misunderstood as simply “religious.” What they’re actually doing is making strategic decisions about the political capital they can use. Can someone be radicalized in a given moment against Muslims, or against Jews? What is the best way to advance our movement? Can we push a broad platform of hatred towards jihadi terrorists who are going to invade western society, or get people worked up about the Zionist deep state globalists who control our government from within? What is the most effective way to radicalize someone into not only hatred but the idea entire ethnic and religious groups are at the root of all our social problems and that the nation - or the world - would be better without them? Do not assume innocence. And furthermore, do not assume you are safe from their schema of who the world would be better without, even if they aren’t saying your name, right now

A lot of people PREACH about diversifying your feed and “opening your mind” by following/tuning into POC, LGBT+, or female creators, yet DO NOT diversify their own feed by following/tuning into people with different opinions [i.e., Blaire White (trans woman), Jordan Peterson, Abby Shapiro (Jewish woman), Matt Walsh (father of 4-5 kids), etc].
WHICH, by doing so, you will open your mind further since you get to hear opinions or ideas that you, or anybody similar to you, probably won’t ever come up with. Sticking to what is comfortable, or what you know, is not diversity. Step out of your comfort zone. Practice what you preach and be inclusive of all people, maybe you’ll actually learn something.
I know I did. My eyes are more open than I ever thought they were thanks to tuning into content other than what is created solely by one community.
You’ll never grow as a person, or step closer to finding middle ground with others who think differently than you, if you never take the time to hear them out. Some people desperately want their opinions and “truths” to be heard and accepted, but isn’t that how everyone feels? Listen to people and you will be listened to.
If you keep pushing people away who have differing opinions/views, then you are part of the problem.
We are more alike than different.
It all starts with healthy discussions, focusing on middle ground, sticking to what is real, listening to concerns, finding where you agree, and going from there.

“Bruce works out so he can carry Jason around like a baby” he is dragging him by the broken edge of the boy’s helmet, knuckles digging into his eyes. He is definitely strong enough to carry him but that’s not the point. He thinks Jason deserves this.

And would you look at that. He finally lowered himself to face Jason. After rendering him completely powerless.

“why’d they miss the solstice deadline that’s not in the books????” did you hear ares say that zeus is going to war with poseidon no matter what no matter if they make the arbitrary deadline or not because “i think zeus just feels that it’s time for a war” “and honestly i think he’s okay with that”.
did you hear perseus jackson, for the first time, look this quest in the eye and say NO we WILL complete this quest, not because im being forced to, not just for my mom, but because i am the son of the sea god and this is the right thing to do.
do you realize that percy powering up requires him truly accepting his place in this world and his POWER in this world and he can only take down ares in the next two episodes if he has this moment of choosing this quest choosing his father, choosing to fight against not just this inevitable war but the series-long one brewing underneath it.
because what is percy jackson if not choosing to look the impossible, the established, the millennia long arbitrary rules and traditions in the eye and say NO. FUCK THAT. ima do my own thing

"Look at me smugly making my way into a space where I don't belong, which was created to keep women safe from sex based violence but which I'm selfishly using as a way to affirm my made up identity 😜"
Congrats! You're just another arrogant man who doesn't respect women's boundaries!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You're a whole ass man.
TIF on the other hand...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Interesting how TIM don't have to bother about passing 100% as the opposite sex,but TIF need to conceal their female form as much as they can when entering the bathroom they feel matches their gender identity.
Could it be because sex based oppression is real? And men don't fear women like women fear men?
Single-SEX spaces were created to keep you safe from sexual assault/have privacy, they were not divided on regressive abstract concepts like gender identity.
This shit is so unnecessary and dissociative.
