#diversify your feed
Text
A lot of people PREACH about diversifying your feed and “opening your mind” by following/tuning into POC, LGBT+, or female creators, yet DO NOT diversify their own feed by following/tuning into people with different opinions [i.e., Blaire White (trans woman), Jordan Peterson, Abby Shapiro (Jewish woman), Matt Walsh (father of 4-5 kids), etc].
WHICH, by doing so, you will open your mind further since you get to hear opinions or ideas that you, or anybody similar to you, probably won’t ever come up with. Sticking to what is comfortable, or what you know, is not diversity. Step out of your comfort zone. Practice what you preach and be inclusive of all people, maybe you’ll actually learn something.
I know I did. My eyes are more open than I ever thought they were thanks to tuning into content other than what is created solely by one community.
You’ll never grow as a person, or step closer to finding middle ground with others who think differently than you, if you never take the time to hear them out. Some people desperately want their opinions and “truths” to be heard and accepted, but isn’t that how everyone feels? Listen to people and you will be listened to.
If you keep pushing people away who have differing opinions/views, then you are part of the problem.
We are more alike than different.
It all starts with healthy discussions, focusing on middle ground, sticking to what is real, listening to concerns, finding where you agree, and going from there.

HELLO HELLO sorry I got your ask a few days ago (at 6:30 in the morning when I got up for work lol) and was thinking about it alllll day! Just had a busy-ass week and wanted to be really present to write a reply because this??? is??? lovely??!?!!!!!
Seriously not too forward at all and I honestly wish tumblr culture encouraged more communication like this because it's so nice and thoughtful- seriously thank you for seeing my tag, and taking the time to message me directly letting me know about this absolute bomb of a fic you're writing, I am 100% frothing on just the idea of it and can't wait to see what you do with the story and characters!
Please ask/message/tag/whatever me when it's up, I would love to read it and will put my high school english essay skills to work in the comments haha
If you try message or ask me in future and I don't respond after a few days assume I've missed the notification or it got lost somehow and just copy/paste it to me another way! Open consent for anyone to (respectfully) harass me about any fandom stuff, though I'm mostly here just looking at fandom memes and art and still don't know what half the dash buttons do lmao

hey strange! So I know you’ve fed your cats the Carna4 brand for a while (correct me if I’m wrong or if thats changed) and I’ve been feeding my cat that brand also for about a year now ever since I got him (he’s 2 yo). He recently had a seizure and we discovered its due to his diet lacking thiamine/B1 vitamins. Bc Carna4 has raw fish in its ingredients it cancels out the vitamins and could leave your cat severely deficient, as mine is, according to the doc and the MRI scan. I thought I should inform you bc this has been terrifying and I don’t wish it on anyone or any cat. Pls feel free to message me if you need more info I’d be happy to share! Also my cat is an orange cat and I know breeds and genetics are a thing so maybe your cats are totally fine but I still thought you should know.
Tumblr media
Thank you for sharing this! Wishing your orange boy a full recovery!!
I had no idea this was a thing. I also feed my cats other raw foods and treats with different protein sources but I think after reading this I will diversify their diet even more.

~Bad Ideas for Skyrim Mods~
Stylish Lore-Friendly Vampire Lady Attire 4K CBBE 3BBA BHUNP HDT-FMSP SSE AE WACCF OWL CACO ACE: Puts Serana in a stylish tuxedo and top hat.
Immersive Mud: Replaces the mud in Morthal and along the coastline with a deformable mesh into which actors and objects can sink. Characters with legs have a chance of getting stuck in the mud, increasing with the mud's depth and their armour's weight. You can escape from the mud by jumping repeatedly or using Whirlwind Sprint, but any boots you have equipped will stay buried, and must be dug out with a spade.
Realistic Lore-Friendly Fishing Rods: Adds three thousand, seven hundred and twelve new variants of fishing rod, each with different chances of fishing up various types of treasure, rubbish and water-dwelling fauna.
Organised Bears in Skyrim: Adds stronger tiers of bears to bear levelled lists, from Dire Bears at level 32 all the way to Evolved Ancient Frozen Panda Deathlords at level 78. Diversifies bear spawns with exciting new bear archetypes, including slow and tanky armoured bears, powerful bear warlocks, deadly bear crossbowmen, and even bear necromancers who can conjure fearsome bear draugr.
Silent Hill in Whiterun: Puts a small hill on the Whiterun tundra which makes no sounds whatsoever. Maybe it could go in that empty part east of Rorikstead.
Very Realistic Horses: 2023 Edition: Speeds up horses. They now canter as fast as a human can sprint, and gallop faster still. Horses need to eat and drink at least once per day, and will feed automatically on nearby water and grass while not being ridden. When stabled, they'll pretty much take care of themselves; otherwise, they should be left near some grass and a river or lake. If you don't feed or water your horse for one day, it will refuse to run. If you don't feed or water your horse for three days, it will die. If you don't clean up your horse's manure, which it deposits by the side of the road every three hours, you will be fined 100 septims or arrested.
Immersive Dragon Bridge Bridge Dragon Overhaul: Replaces the dragon-themed bridge outside Dragon Bridge with an actual dragon. Instead of walking across her, for a small fee she'll lift you up ever so carefully in her jaws and deposit you on the far side of the gorge.

If you're worried about the enshittification of the internet completely killing your access to work by your favorite creatives (I've already seen a lot of artists I love state they'll be leaving Tumblr thanks to all the AI training), I want to introduce you to a handful of ways to circumvent the social media hellscape to stay connected to your favorite creators.
RSS Feeds
I'd argue that this is the best option. It essentially allows you to create your own social media "dashboard" by saving websites and getting updates when they post new content. Most websites already have these, and if social media goes down (or just continues to degrade), the best way you can access your favorite creators will be with direct connection to their personal websites. I'm still learning how to use these, but if you want to learn more, this article does a great job.
2. Newsletters
I know newsletters are a pain and it's annoying to have your inbox cluttered, but if there are creators you know you'd be remiss to lose access to, I recommend subscribing to their newsletters. I'd honestly skip the ones that share frequent content you don't need, but for example, my newsletter is updates only so I only send it out maybe every few months when something big happens. It's an easy way to stay up to date on info that social media buries. Of course, if your faves are writing up blog posts & insights that you want to read in newsletter form, consider subscribing to those as well, and don't feel like you have to subscribe to *every* newsletter to make it worthwhile. You just want to make sure you can still be reached by the creators whose work you really don't want to miss.
3. Ko-Fi/Patreon
I don't think a lot of people realize you can follow people on these platforms for free, but because they have paid options, they offer more direct access than social media sites whose algorithms will just erase people you love from your feed altogether. This one isn't the best alternate since a lot of content may be behind a paywall, but if you just want an easy way to be sure you'll still have access to updates from people you want to support, this is a usable way to compile creators in one place and most creators will post updates for free so you should still get those.
So yeah, these are my suggestions. If you're just on social media casually and you just like the easy access to content but don't particularly care about individual creators or specific projects or anything like that then you probably don't need any of this and that's fine. If social media is continuing to work for you then feel free to continue enjoying it without worrying about alternatives. I just want people to have a fail safe if you, like me, are realizing that this shit is getting completely out of hand and everything you once wanted social media for is quickly becoming inaccessible.
Anyway, I highly recommend tuning in to people's personal websites, but I doubt most people have the energy to check each individual website so RSS Feeds are great alternative. Whatever you choose to do, just try to diversify enough that no one company can completely kill your access to your faves on a whim and remember that the closer to direct communication you can get to with creatives the better.

Hi! I played your game and really, really like it, I am a huge fan of slow burn - combined with Yandere too? That's kinda rare nowadays, haha. Thanks for making it and creating Mychael, I love his design. Two questions: How many days are planned to be playable in the full release?
And
Since in just one day Mychael feels very friendly towards us (according to a post you made with where his feelings are based on a meter) does that mean he's very clingy??? Like, in just one day he feels like our friend. What little effort and words will it take for him to go from crush, to love, to whatever yandere thing he might be??? Like, is he okay??? Should I be worried???
Tumblr media
This guy? Clingy? Nahhh. Nothing to worry about, anon :-) 🍄❤️
As for the game, long (!!!) answer below cut: might be spoiler-y might be not.
For context, here's the post mentioned above.
I'm still not sure how many days it will be, but it's definitely ranging between 4-5 days. Granted it'll be a while before the game is finished finished but I think progress will pick up as I complete assets that will be reused. I'm writing Days 2, 3 and 4 simultaneously (anyone who writes can probably relate to wanting a specific thing to happen in the story but dread writing up to it, so I skip around in order to keep my motivation and interest up)
As for relationship progression, slow burn usually means a long time passes before anything develops. But this is a VN and I'm a solo part-time dev so the scope still has to be small 😔 That said!
Mychael, as a person, is quite solitary in nature; he likes being alone and you'll find out why. He does however desire company and he's only realized just how pleasant having someone around can be (hence his reaction for the Bad Endings in Day 1 if you wish to leave/run away)
Although I'm not a fan of the 'you do one (1) nice thing any decent person would do and yandere is already head-over-heels for you' trope, I do have to make use of it but, drip-feed style? You grow closer to Mychael as you hang out with him and do little things that he appreciates. (Honestly I just realized I'm describing the typical visual novel experience just without the yandere beginning-- go! figure!!! /lh)
Example: the first thing that boosts you to immediate friend status is your willingness to accept his physical looks, something that's never happened to him before. (I know my artstyle makes him a yassified pretty boy but imagine genuinely meeting a sentient creature in real life with patchy green skin, a dextrous tail and four blinking pitch black eyes, I think I'd freak too haha) Little things like that mean a lot to him and motivates him to prolong your stay.
In a way, the MC is written to be more kinder and open-minded (at least outside of Bad Ends) than the sweet/sour personalities that come in a VN, so (for narrative AND coding purposes) I can't really diversify it much. I hope that's okay ¯\_(; v ; )_/¯ If Mychael met a more grouchy/mean MC on Day 1 he'd probably not be as attached. He'd just save you, feed you and send you home when you ask hahaha. Of course this will change as he gets to know you better, at that stage he'll be willing to overlook your flaws like any upstanding yandere
Phew this was a lot to dump in an ask but I did wanna explain my vision for the game! I enjoy yandere VNs as an escape fantasy, but it's common they start out with the yan already being invested in you or fall for you too fast!!! if that makes sense. I'm interested in yanderes in the aspect of how love (romantic or otherwise) starts from innocent affection and spirals into dark obsession!!! It's also compelling as to why a character is so devoted to someone, in this situation the MC, and I wanna write the kind of person Mychael would fall for. And personally 'love-at-first-sight' as a reason just doesn't do it for me 💔
(Disclaimer!!! I'm not saying my game is any more original or better than the other wonderful yan VNs in the works, but hopefully with Mychael as a character I can deliver that 'slow-burn-and-yearn' storyline I'd like it to be. As my itchio profile says: I make games I thirst for in secret but are sadly lacking around the internet 💔 )
Thank you for the ask!! :-D

A guide on using RSS
This is an extension of my previous post about diversifying your internet use!
What is RSS?
RSS (short for Really Simple Syndication) is basically an update log for a website. When a site has new content the RSS feed will update, and an RSS reader will show what's on the RSS feed. Think of an RSS reader like a centralized timeline/dashboard for all your favorite sites.
Why use RSS?
The most important reasons are to reduce your reliance on any one site, and to save time by compiling all the websites you check in one place instead of having to visit each one individually.
There's also no algorithm that decides what you see (or don't see.) No more shadowbanning, it's all where it's supposed to be. Plus, it makes it incredibly easy to jump ship from a platform that's endlessly fucking up, without having to start over entirely or maintaining profiles on 20 different sites.
Examples of websites that have RSS feeds:
Blogging + Social media sites (tumblr, cohost, blogspot, livejournal, mastodon, bluesky social, reddit, etc)
Video sites (youtube, dailymotion, vimeo, etc)
Podcasts
Forums
News sites
Personal websites (if the person running the site has added one. Here's a guide on adding an RSS feed to your own website! And here's a shorter one!)
How to use RSS?
You will need an RSS reader. I personally like and use Feedbro, which is a free browser extension (available on chrome, firefox, and microsoft edge.) Feeder is free and popular on android. Chrome on android also has a built-in RSS reader that can be enabled. Feeeed is a good free option on iOS.
How to find RSS feeds?
Some RSS readers like Feedbro are able to automatically find the RSS feed for a page with minimal effort on your part, you just click a button and it'll pull up the info.
Others will need you to paste the feed URL into a box, which isn't particularly hard either. There's a few ways to find an RSS feed URL. Some sites will have a direct link to it. It'll usually be an orange icon that looks something like this:
Tumblr media
Less commonly, it'll be a link that says "subscribe", "web feed", or just a + icon.
Many sites don't have a direct link listed anymore, but that doesn't mean they don't have an RSS feed. A simple tool for finding unlisted feeds is Thirdplace Discovery. On that website, you paste the URL of the site or page you want the feed of, and you're given the URL of the feed if it exists.
Some sites simply don't have their own RSS feeds. That can often be worked around with tools like OpenRSS, RSSHub, or RSS.app!
It's also worth suggesting for websites you like to add their own RSS feed or to add the link in an accessible place. The more interest people show in it, the more likely it is to be supported.
That's about all you need to get started!
RSS is infinitely useful and customizable, it's worth trying out at the very least. Once you get settled in, it's very easy to use.
There's a huge amount of RSS reader options out there. Don't like the reader you started out with? The vast majority of them will let you export your subscription list as a file that can then be imported into a different reader! Feel free to experiment with different options to see which one you like best.
Also feel free to ask questions if you have them!

Tumblr media Tumblr media
On Saturday, August 2, 2014, the water supply for the city of Toledo, Ohio, was poisoned. Officials issued an unequivocal order to the half million residents connected to the municipal intake: Don’t drink, cook, or brush your teeth with the water. [...] Stores ran out of bottled water, leaving residents to queue up at local fire stations [...]. The culprit was a bright green plume of Microcystis, a cyanobacterium that thrives in warm water [...]. In spring, rains wash a pulse of nutrients off the surrounding region’s fertilized farms and send it down the Maumee and Sandusky Rivers and into western Lake Erie. [...] Tests showed that the city’s water contained dangerous levels of microcystin, a liver toxin produced by the bloom.
The source of the problem stretches for thousands of square miles across northwestern Ohio and eastern Indiana. The rich earth [...] in the region produces hundreds of millions of dollars’ worth of soybeans and corn, as well as wheat, vegetables, pork, and poultry. The landscape is a vast, flat expanse of tidy fields and modest farmhouses crisscrossed with county roads — but it wasn’t always this way.
Centuries ago, this part of the Midwest was a wild expanse of wet forest and marsh stretching across a million acres, and early settlers who slogged through the muck and mosquitoes called the place the Great Black Swamp. [...] On an 1808 map, the swamp, which covered most of northwestern Ohio, was designated as “land not worth a farthing.”
But settlers came anyway, felling the giant sycamores and oaks to create roads, and digging miles of drainage trenches to slowly bleed the water away from the muck. [...]
They [”the wetlands”] are considered a menace, a threat, a thing to be overcome. These attitudes are enshrined in state law, which makes impossible any action, including wetland restoration, that slows the flow of runoff through those miles of constructed drainage ditches [...].
Tumblr media
[S]oldiers recorded the striking bounty of the Black Swamp and Lake Erie’s southwestern shore. On an April morning in 1813, two hungry soldiers stationed at Fort Meigs, near present-day Toledo, walked down to the Maumee River. The clear waters swarmed with perch, muskellunge, sturgeon, and catfish. Plunging spears into the water at random, they caught 67 fish in 30 minutes, often killing two or three with a single stroke. Every river mouth west of the Sandusky held dense beds of wild rice, where waterfowl settled to feed, then rose in flocks that darkened the sky. The rice stalks stood taller than a man’s head: to feed, ducks grabbed the stems with their feet and tugged the seed heads down to the water. [...]
In 1859, the Ohio General Assembly passed a law authorizing county commissioners to construct drainage ditches. Farmers benefiting from ditch construction shared the cost. The other Midwestern states also enacted laws authorizing drainage districts, enabling the construction of vast networks of ditches that drained great swathes of land — a mission that required investment and coordination, and could not have been accomplished by individual landowners.
Through the work of drainage districts, the Corn Belt states would lose more than 95 percent of their native wetlands. [...]
Some enterprising soul tested the abundant clay that lay a foot or two beneath the soil of the Black Swamp, and found that it made excellent tiles.
By 1880, more than 50 tile factories operated in northwest Ohio, and the Black Swamp was dismembered and used to feed an accelerating and diversifying cycle of human industry.
The great wetland trees — ash, elm, oak, sycamore — were felled and used to build houses, make furniture, and power the railroads that sprouted up across Ohio. In the 1860s, Ohio’s railways consumed one million cords of wood each year as fuel, and an unknown quantity for ties. The discovery of underdrainage created a growing demand for tile. All this drove an orgy of forest clearing and land draining which in the course of five decades, from 1870 to 1920, completely erased the Black Swamp. A wilderness went up in the smoke from railroad engines, and flowed in drainage ditches down to the Maumee and Sandusky, which began to run murky and lost their once-bountiful populations of fish.
Among the descendants of the settlers who conquered the Black Swamp, drainage is viewed as sacred, while wetland restoration borders on the profane. In terms of water quality, a prime place to create wetlands would be where they intercept the flow of polluted water in farm ditches. That could cause water to back up and flood the fields, however, and it is forbidden under Ohio’s ditch laws, which have changed little since 1859.

"These people are not your toys"
you are right, Cait is not a toy, she chose the man (Tony) she loves, and decided to marry, and have a baby
and sam is not a toy, he chose the life of celibacy and engaging in commercial and investment work
They are not a toys, we insist on making our dreams come true during them, ignoring their complete free will.
Dear Free Will Anon,
Since you people keep on coming back over and over again with the same points of talk, when - again - you cannot, by now, reasonably expect a different feedback, especially from that coin flipping, bizarre woman you just love to call a lunatic every single day, I am going to take another angle. We all know how you, people of Mordor, like a good debunking, and this is exactly what I am going to do tonight, with you.
Over time, I have watched this kind of interaction repeating itself ad nauseam, over and over and over again. I have also read a massive amount of comments to this type of antics, and came to the conclusion that most of them thought "Anon is stupid and must go away immediately". A banal, convenient conclusion. Your efforts deserve way better.
Anon, you are anything but stupid, when you behave like this, trolling around like a headless chicken, waiting to ignite something, anything. You also know perfectly well that you are not going to change anybody's mind and can at best count on people cursing you (my two native languages have very colorful idioms for these situations, so you get double trouble) in different time zones.
What you are trying to do, Anon, is use a classical assertive technique, called the broken record method. Since you all think we are professional liars, I will just quote some easy, website material that explains it very clearly (available here: https://www.revolutionlearning.co.uk/article/the-broken-record-technique/):
Tumblr media
What that does tell me about you and your ilk is, however, not very glorious for you:
Tumblr media
It's rich that you try to do that with a diplomat and a former government negotiator, Anon. It's like trying to sell cucumbers to the gardener, to quote a proverb from my country and it is always met with a snort. I use the broken record almost daily - albeit more politely and considerately than you - especially when I reach a stalemate in a difficult point of talk.
Unlike me, you do have an unsavory agenda. While doing some research for a future post, I came across this very interesting article about sealioning, a new form of online harassment : https://www.forbes.com/sites/marshallshepherd/2019/03/07/sealioning-is-a-common-trolling-tactic-on-social-media-what-is-it/?sh=4df0169f7a41
Tumblr media
This spiel is old and tired by now, Anon. Along with some cleverly planted calumny, it has made a pariah out of the whole shipper community and led to frictions, schisms, conflicts, broken fandom experiences, people leaving in droves, people being doxed, attacked, pressured, strange interviews of the female lead, etc.
You are the last Mordor Anon bringing up McSideburns that is going to get my attention. And it would be wonderful if we'd stop feeding the trolls once and for all and not answer this question anymore, all of us. At least get your act together and diversify, Mordor. You are very good at lying : Stalin would be proud of you, chickies.
And now, to quote Boney M, show me your motion, Anon. Enough is enough: guess what, editorial policy just changed.

hello! I've just found your blog and that's AMAZING, but I have a question: what do you think about industrial food? it's super low quality, and furthermore, they produce a lot of trash as plastic (unnecessary) packaging! It would be easier just to say "starting eating organic food", but for poor people, buying grapes or apples, even not organic, costs more than buying cookies full of fat, sodium and carbohydrates (not talking about all the chemicals). I personally, think about non conventional food plants as an alternative since most of them are super resistant to weather changes and easy to rise. I wanna know what you think about
Hi! Thanks for getting in touch. The long and short of it is, I hate industrialised farming. It pollutes the air, soil and water, poisons and impoverishes farmers, increases the likelihood of zoonotic pandemics, reduces the genetic diversity of plants and encroaches upon wildlife territories. We need a massive return to local, small-scale regenerative agriculture if we are to feed everyone and equitably share the earth with other species. But you’re right, it has to be done in a way that’s just and fair for people who can currently only afford plasticked, pesticided and processed food, as well as making a living for farmers. We’re all on the same side here, but people often don’t realise that. I also think we need to massively diversify our food plant range - a system that relies on just a few staple crops is insanely vulnerable, especially with more and more extreme weather coming our way. So many plants I was raised to think of as ‘weeds’ are not only edible but highly nutritious and often medicinal. Where are the dandelion farmers? The mycologists selling turkey tails? And foraging should be taught in all schools so kids can feed themselves in the wild and pass these skills on to future generations. As with most climate solutions, I don’t think it’s an either/or - I’d welcome pretty much any solution as part of a wider melting pot of alternatives. The only thing I won’t budge on is that we have to change, because the way we in the North and West farm right now just isn’t sustainable.

So, if the goal is to feed and house people, all we have to do is take the food from where it is and bring it to the people and bring the people from where they are into an available residence. Preferably not in that order I suppose lol . Fortunately we have like a shitload of food and trucks and unoccupied homes so this is something we could just essentially start doing any old time. The problem is that people will argue that we can't do that because those things cost money to do. But the whole point of money is to control who gets access to a limited pool of resources - and since we have accumulated enough resources to take care of the entire global population, we should be able to just all agree that it has served its purpose and move on from this construct. There's nothing about the natural world that necessitates money and there's nothing about money that makes it inherently valuable. It was a tool, a means to an end, and it has served its purpose.
if the goal is to feed and house people
This is a major conditional perquisite, which is not true for majority of people in the world. I understand you are proposing a hypothetical scenario, but just realize this condition is purely theoretical and the rest of your post is contingent on it being true.
all we have to do is take the food from where it is and bring it to the people and bring the people from where they are into an available residence
No that would be a massive oversimplification of the logistics and distribution complexities involved.
Fortunately we have like a shitload of food and trucks and unoccupied homes so this is something we could just essentially start doing any old time.
1/ Those surplus of resources are a result of a money-fueled economy.
2/ You are neglecting many other requirements, most notably labor, which is already in short-supply and you are recommending to remove the financial incentive, which will decrease it even further.
The problem is that people will argue that we can't do that because those things cost money to do.
Well they cost resources, money is just a more efficient way of measuring.
e.g. resources spent on food cannot be spent on housing
But the whole point of money is to control who gets access to a limited pool of resources
No, the whole point of money is to more efficiently enable the trade between resources
e.g. a tailor wants food from a farmer who needs no tailoring services or goods
and since we have accumulated enough resources to take care of the entire global population
1/ We have not accumulated enough resources to take care of the entire global population.
2/ Most of those accumulated resources are finite and resulted from money-fueled economies, therefore before "we move on", perhaps we should consider the impact of the replacement.
we should be able to just all agree that it has served its purpose and move on from this construct.
Why?
There's nothing about the natural world that necessitates money
1/ While money is not a natural concept, it is a valuable tool that enhances the functioning of modern societies and allows for the complex and diversified economic activities that drive those human societies.
2/ If humans chose to limit ourselves to the pre-existing constructs of nature, then we would most likely not be alive today.

Ambulpterans (Monster)
(Have you heard of Serina, a spec evo project done by Dylan Bajda AKA Sheather? It's the other long-form spec evo project I mentioned, and with all due respect to Kaimere, it is my personal favorite. The setting is a seed world designed to be a perfect home for canaries. The birds, as well as the plants and animals brought alongside them to support their ecosystem, quickly diversify, and what follows is several periods, each lasting tens of millions of years, with their own ecosystems and clades. If you're at all interested in sci fi, zoology, or the convergance of the two, it's a must read in my opinion.
These two animals I'm porting to Pathfinder are derived canaries living 250 million years after the moon was seeded. They are, notably, also large herbivorous quadrupeds who live in groups, which are qualities of many domesticated animals. As such, I have Glidegander filling the role of common flying mount- a role I suggest DMs introduce to their wolds with care, as I imagine your average scout or messenger being able to saddle up a flying animal will have massive worldbuilding implications.)
Ambulopteran, Glidegander
Tumblr media
(Glidegander by Dylan Bajda)
CR1 TN Large Animal
Glideganders are common quadrupedal birds of a distant moon. In nature, they are migratory grazers, flying massive distances to find the most productive meadows. They are relatively fragile animals, for their size. An injury to any limb means a glidegander will be unable to fly, and they are aware of it- glidegander herds prefer to run rather than face threats head-on. And they do run; taking off for a glidegander takes effort, and in nature they generally only do so when it’s time to move on to fresher feeding grounds, or when it’s their only option for escape. Glideganders, like all archangels, lay eggs that are large, soft, and leathery; these eggs are then buried in large clutches.
On many planets, glideganders have been domesticated; they are docile, social, can be fed on cheap grasses, and most crucially all this is paired with the capability of long-distance flight. Glidegander are not particularly strong, however; a single glidegander can only carry about 250lbs before being unable to fly. Those wishing to use them for shipping goods typically use two “lead” birds, most often old females guided by riders, to lead a flock of “carriers”. Riders, rather than sit perpendicular to the animal’s back, instead straddle them to reduce drag. On planets where ambulopterans are common, a glidegander typically sells for 400gp, and a combat trained specimen for 600gp.

(Stormsonor by Dylan Bajda)
CR5 TN Huge Animal
Stormsonors are towering relatives of the glidegander, being among the largest of creatures who fly without magical means. Stormsonors, like glideganders, are migratory, often traveling distances on a continental scale to find their preferred food, soft water plants, although they are capable of eating mosses and some grasses, too. Stormsonors are named for their long, mournful cries which carry for many miles, and for their tendency to follow rainstorms to feed on the lush growth that follows such an event.
Unlike glideganders, stormsonors have not been truly domesticated due to the incredible distance of their migrations. Despite this, they can be tamed; if raised from hatching, they are loyal and courageous mounts, capable of flying great distances. Many planets regard these animals as sacred, and their capture is allowed only to the most important leaders and warriors. Because of this, a stormsonor egg is worth 2,000gp, and a trained specimen is worth ten times that.

Greetings citizens of the Union and beings from beyond! Welcome to Union News Central, I'm your host Bluglakkag Flublabbak. Hello! This is the recent news! ::3
In the news today, the new craze spreading across the Union, the little amoeba pets that've been affectionately named Adoroebae! If you don't have one, you probably know someone who does, so here's the scoop!
Tumblr media
The cute little critters were discovered on Feforyana, also known as Vesrun Prime. And since their discovery, they've spread throughout the Union. Why? Because they make great pets, of course!
Though amoeba's usually aren't too smart, the nucleus of an Adoreoba is particularly large and complex. That allows them some basic pattern recognition, the ability to bond, and show affection! Best of all? Adoroebae are very low maintenance! They're omnivorous but can't digest chitin so they don't good feeding them mushrooms or some insects, and they only undergo mitosis when they're particularly large and well fed.
So, if you don't want a litter of Adoroebae, don't overfeed your pet!
Fun fact! Though they're naturally green, you can safely and harmlessly pierce the cell membrane with a needle and inject food colouring to make them any colour! This doesn't harm them at all, and they don't even notice the change.
We go now to the citizen who discovered the first Adoroeba, Galdrig den Aramik!
Tumblr media
"Uh, we live?"
Yes, Galdrig, welcome! So, how did you discover these cute little amoebae?
"Ah! Thanks, Bluglakkag! Well, I was just gatherin' spores from the ruins, to diversify the shroom crops on my family's farm, y'know? When I saw one them squeezin' through cracks in the concrete! It popped right out and then jumped on a Radrat! I was like nuh way!"
Oh my! What an entrance!
"Ya-huh! I saw it weren't interested in the shrooms so I figured it'd be good to keep back at the farm, stick it in the basement, cut down on usin' pesticides, and what do you know, the farm's been greener since. That could be the radioactive barrels... still gotta clean those up. Anyhoo! Word got out and next thing you know, every farmer's got some. And I guess other people started keepin' them cause they're cute?"
That makes you a trend setter, Galdrig! Thank you so much for joining us and sharing your story!
"That's quite alright, little friend."
And that brings this story to a close. I'll be keeping one of these cuties, and if you want one too, an interlink site called Adopt-An-Adoreoba has been set up to give Adoroebae to loving families!
Tumblr media
Oh, one of them got on the camera! ::3 Cheeky little cutie! Come down from there!
Ah... This is Bluglakkag Flublabbak saying thanks for tuning in to our signal here at UNC. Be sure to bookmark our wavelength for future updates.
Solace in the Union.
