#regency romance movie

Just got back from seeing Mr. Malcolm’s List and it was a lot of fun. They really leaned into the rom-com elements of the story, but the actors were able to pull off the emotional scenes as well.
Obviously, I loved Zawe’s performance (she’s so good that you actually forgive her for a really mean trick she plays), but so is Sopé Dirisu. The way his face drops when he realizes that not only does Selina know his friend Henry Ossery, but Henry is interested in her, too, is priceless. 😂
So, yes, if you like fluffy rom-coms and British actors having a hell of a good time playing off each other, you’ll like the movie.

the unspeakable crimes I would commit for a funny lighthearted spicy lesbian regency romance with at least somewhat of a happy ending…

I have now both read and watched Austenland, an order I'm glad I stuck with, because the book was fun, but the movie was SO GREAT!!! It had me giggling, doing kicky feet, emitting high-pitched squeals of PURE SHIPPY JOY. On a related note, guess it's time for a JJ Feilds IMDB tour after all. Feel free to throw me recs.
P.S. I would also like to congratulate everyone involved for upping the horse content, and chef's kiss to the newborn foal cherry on top.

The leads were sweet and all, but it was really these two that made the movie.

I don't want joseph quinn to be on bridgerton. Not because I don't want him to get work and have a good career, quite the opposite.
I just hate Bridgeton.

I really like this movie! The colours and the costumes are so beautiful! Definitely recommend if you're into romcoms, period dramas or Jane Austen!
