Disney Princesses Ideal Partners (Pt. 2)

Request: Can you do a headcanon on what all 14 Disney princess look for in a ideal partner or s/o? Maybe split it in to two parties idk

Pocahontas

Pocahontas would prefer someone who is passionate about the environment, someone who cares about the intricate way humans interact with the natural world

Her tribe is very important to her, so someone who respects and upholds the traditions of her tribe is a must

Besides that, she just wants someone who will take care of her, but also not stifle her

She would prefer someone she can adventure with, someone who will take her on journeys with them

Someone, who like her, finds it hard to settle down and stay in one place

Mulan

Mulan doesn't really have an ideal partner but she's open to the idea of meeting someone

Someone who can keep up with her in battle and keep a level head when needed would be extremely helpful

Someone who doesn't mind that she's a little "non-traditional" and who even finds that somewhat appealing

Someone who doesn't expect her to stay at home while they do all the work, maybe the both of you could split the duties

She doesn't need a partner but if one were to come her way, she wouldn't be opposed to making it work

Tiana

Tiana doesn't have time to sit around and dream about a knight in shining armour, but like Mulan, she's not going to shut out the possibility of someone coming into her life

If she had to choose a perfect partner, it'd be someone who supports her dreams of opening her restaurant, who helps her achieve that goal and is not afraid of a woman who works hard

Someone who enjoys her cooking would be a plus

She would appreciate if you're patient and willing to give her her space when she needs it, after all, she has a lot of shifts to work

Rapunzel

Rapunzel is really open minded, she's open to anyone who is willing to spend time with her

She'd appreciate somebody who wants to learn some of her many skills and do them with her

She would love anyone, though, she's not that hard to please. She'll find anything you do fascinating and ask a million questions

She'd also prefer it if you didn't freak out about her hair'

Merida

If you want to win Merida's heart, first you have to understand that she's not just going to immediately be into you

She would prefer to be on her own and therefore she doesn't really have a particular ideal partner

Someone who could keep up with her fiery attitude and her desire for adventure would be nice

Maybe even a good archer yourself, so she can have competitions with you

Really, she'd just prefer someone who will give her her space when needed and be there for her when needed

Moana

Moana wants someone who is going to trust and listen to her, someone who will give her good advice when she's uncertain what path to choose

Someone who shares her passion for the ocean, who loves to spend time in it, swimming, sailing, wayfinding, whatever the activity just enjoying the ocean air

Like Pocahontas, she wants someone who will respect and appreciate the history of her tribe and contribute to it

She is the chief of her tribe, so someone who will remind her every now and then to have fun and let loose. To not be so hung up on running the tribe and to enjoy herself.

Raya

Raya is a deeply mistrusting person, so she would prefer someone who can break down her walls. Who won't immediately be intimidated by her rough exterior.

She may like someone she can let loose around, someone who will listen to her worries and help her comes to term with the fact that she can't control everything

Above all, her ideal partner would be someone who believes in her father's vision of Kumandra. Who will fight alongside her for a world where everyone lives in peace and harmony.

*wakes up at 3 AM* Girl help, I forgot to pay attention at the fact that the portrait of the "green" person in Debate Parlour is not likely to be Sellen, from logical standpoint

It already was on the back of my mind, but I want to actually look into it! They are implied to be founders/teachers, and we know Sellen was a student of Azur and Lusat, but this is not quite an arguement, yeah. Sometimes new teachers will rise from younger people that once were scholars in institution! But it is the fact that keeping the portrait of that despicable, outlaw person that shook the whole Academy with her deeds would be strange. Why honor her?

+ And speaking of which, I thought the first two portraits could have been Azur and Lusat, but maybe also not? Their study of Primeval Current did not work well with the new Raya Lucaria agenda after Rennala took over, nor anyone who accomplished a lot ever got status and uniforms like they did! Portraits might be.... well, Karolos and Olivinus, lol. The guys crowns are named after. So, more convenient guys chosen to "repost with credit to the original artist" and become faces (literally lol) of Comets and Stars studies respectively!

^ The puppet body Sellen uses also has the Witch Crown, and not a broken one! So, not likely a replica, but another student from whatever the 'Witch' school was!

The significance of green glintstone is strange too, because this is not something that exists normally! They are cold colors, like cyan, blue and indigo! Well, also "superior" amber stars, but they're a whole material of Elden Ring, not sorceries. Crystals from the mines could be green though, and those poisonous stones the miners throw at you are green too. 🤔 My guess on what 'Witch' school represented would be, exploring how the cosmic essence interacts and adapts with "our" ground and lifeforms! In other words, how to bring the cosmos IN earthly realities and make it all closer to the stars. Not waiting for the comets and star shards to fall down on people, but (re)create them right here in some capacity! Color green symbolizes these more earthly, "lab grown" glintstones (that aren't even really glintstones but rather crystals)! + potential connection with Miranda flowers, who do rain sort of cosmic showers as an attack but are adaptive to their environment in terms of abilities and element!

And, nobody until Sellen did something as drastic as trying to turn PEOPLE into stars.

I think also the school was not entirely cancelled because of Sellen (again, why still acknowledging it with the founder portrait then?). But more likely it became unpopular and there just aren't any more people that we know of to wear the Witch crowns, besides Sellen and whatever scholar Seluvis was holding as a puppet. Maybe there are more somewhere outside that ran away kinda like how Thops did! Maybe the school was already going extinct because "why do we need stars to modify earthly life if we already have Golden Grace + Moon is already a better bridge between mortal and divine 🌛" after Rennala married Radagon. Lazuli conspectus sort of overshadowed Witch school, it was a more advanced offering for the similar demand! 'Witches' to Lazuli conspectus are like traditional art to digital art; both are valid but one of these quickly gained popularity and unfairly accused another one of being outdated and not marketable gghghfjghj

Modern AU headcanon that I may or may not use in my modern AU series:

20s Raya still sleeps with a Build-A-Bear that her mother helped her make for her 5th birthday. After her mother dies, that bear is with her every night. When Raya meets Namaari, at first she's embarrassed. Namaari is way too cool for stuffed animals. But Raya just can't bear to part with her teddy.

Then Namaari stays the night for the first time, and Raya is stressed. What is she gonna do? Eventually she decides to just tell her. If Namaari mocks her, she'll probably just laugh it off, but she'll secretly be super disappointed and heartbroken.

But Namaari thinks it's the cutest thing, and when she learns why Raya sleeps with the teddy, she's very understanding. She shakes the teddy's worn out little paw and says "Sorry bud, but you're going to have to share her now. I'm sure we can come to an agreement."

And when she gives Raya a goodnight kiss that night, she kisses the teddy, too. And Raya instantly knows she's the one she's going to marry.

Then one day, they're out walking around the mall together and they pass a Build-A-Bear. Namaari catches Raya looking wistfully inside and asks if she wants to go in. Raya blushes and declines, but Namaari can see just how much she wants to and insists.

Cue impromptu date where they make teddies together and Namaari is 1000% into it, having had a strict childhood and not had a stuffed animal since she was eleven. Each girl gives the other bear's heart a kiss before its sewn in to the stuffing. They get them cute little T-shirts and name them, and that night Namaari's teddy sleeps right next to her pillow.

Raya makes a whole scene of new teddy meeting old teddy and they instantly become best friends. And the new teddy will NEVER replace the old teddy, but rather, add to Raya's collection of gifts from the most important women in her life.

Izar’s first visit to Raya Lucaria wasn’t planned. After Ensha’s attack on her, Gideon had sent them out together to track down Latenna.

However, a rather unfortunate combination of some wraithcallers, a giant crayfish, a lonely waygate in a gazebo as the only means of escape and an alarming number of cuckoo knights on the other side eventually led to both of them fleeing towards the magic barrier at the academy main gate.

There had been a moment when the soldiers’ attention had been fully focused on Ensha and the tiny gems on his weathered armor, and Izar could have slipped away on her own… It would have been easy.

She wasn’t one to take the easy way out, much less to abandon a companion to his fate, not even someone she distrusted. So she hurled a glintstone arc at the soldiers before they could make short work of Ensha, and both of them ran. The cuckoo knights gave chase, convinced they were driving them towards a dead end.

But Izar was carrying a glintstone key in her pocket, proud to have it snatched away from a sleeping dragon days earlier. She dragged Ensha with her as she stepped through the barrier, and there they were.

Hurting, out of breath, yet safe for the moment, the soldiers locked on the other side.

And ahead … the Academy of Raya Lucaria. Having come so far, how could Izar have turned back now?

Also this is a reminder to all of those of you who would think that for six years, she's been away from her world so she won't know how to dance... people, she's the princess of Heart—the most festive of all the lands. Kaldorei Handfasting Ceremony

Everyone who has played a night elf has surely seen these decorations in every home. The larger bowl for multi-family homes, and the smaller bowl for single-family homes. After seeing them myself for countless years, my brain did this wonderfully creative thing that I have made my own personal head canon. The ceremony below was a creation to share with my fantastic roleplay partner, Olimos Lor'ranel. It was a surprise 'wedding' of sorts that Raya put together for their anniversary. While it was a private scene we shared, I created an outline of sorts to share with the kaldorei roleplay community.

This is by no means official lore. It is fan-made content.

Essential Components

Stone Bowl

Moonwell Water

Blessed Candle

Two Feathers (Hippogryph or Owl are favored)

Traditional Location

Because of the deep ties to nature, many kaldorei are married at a natural site such as a moonwell. Not only are the waters sacred, but they give life to the world tree. Some believe that the bonds forged in those hallowed waters will forever grow and be nourished like the world tree itself. Others believe that since the water is blessed by the moon, the bonds will be protected by Elune herself.

Elemental Blessings

Spoken by an officiant, traditionally a Priestess of Elune.

“Since ancient times, our people have communed with nature to learn more about themselves. Since it is within nature that we all do abide, we ask for the mated pair the blessings of Nature’s Elements, Earth, Water, Fire, and Air. We do this so that they may fully come to understand the lessons each element has to offer. The attributes of which each of those aspects mirror, not only within divinity but within ourselves as well.”

The officiant places the stone bowl in the couple's hands. 

“Spirits of Earth, we ask that you give unto those you see standing before you this day, the rock solid place to stand and fulfill his destiny. May their journey mirror the vast forests and fertile lands, expansive and alive. May they find the right seeds to sow to ensure a bountiful harvest in their relationship. And when they look up at the White Lady and Blue Child, may they know that they are as bright and constant as their love for each other.”

As they speak, the officiant guides the bowl, held by the couple, to the surface of the water, filling the vessel from the moonwell itself. 

“We ask the Spirits of Water, that their love for each other and the comfort of loved ones, like the serenity of the deep blue ocean, be the oasis that forever surrounds our Bride and Groom. May they be well loved, and love well, letting the surety with which Water makes its journey to the sea, flowing over rocks or around trees, even turning into vapor and riding a cloud, ever serve as a reminder that with love all is well and will endure.”

A blessed candle is placed in the bowl to float in the water. The officiant lights the wick as they speak. 

“Spirits of Fire, we ask that the mated pair’s passion for each other and for life itself remain ever strong and vital, fortifying each day with a vibrancy rooted in boldness, and courage. As Fire clears the way for new growth, may they know that this power is theirs: to create change and bring about the richness and quality that comes with a true love of life.”

Pristine feathers are brought out and placed into the bowl as well. 

“We ask the spirits of Air to keep open the lines of communication between this pair. May their future be as bright as the dawn on the horizon. As Air flows freely to and from and through us all, may their hearts and minds and souls come to know the world and each other in this manner. Seeing not only with their eyes, may they together grow wise with wisdom.”

There is a moment of silent prayer before the ritual continues and the officiant lifted the blessed vessel to set aside or hand it to the matron of honor.

Blessings of the Divine

“There is an ancient story amidst our people that one can only hope this pair will see as an example of how love should be. Malorne, The Great Stag, fell in love with Elune, the goddess of the moon, during the world's first nightfall. Her light guided him through the woods and showed him he was not alone. It banished fear and brought hope. Many creatures have loved the moon and pursued her to madness. She grants light as she will, on her own timetable, and moonlight cannot be captured or possessed. Even so, night after night, the White Stag chased her across the skies. He grew so swift and strong that at last, he succeeded in reaching her. She was so moved by his devotion and beauty that she made him her consort. To this day he loves the wilds best when they are lit by her radiance.”

“I call upon Mother Moon, The Great Stag, and all Divine Spirits whose presence is felt in all things and at all times. We ask your blessings upon this couple, upon their pairing and upon their family, friends, and partners who have gathered here to celebrate this joyous event with them. May they become one in truth and forever revel in the magic that is love.”

“{Partner A Name/ Bride}, I ask you to call upon all that is divine within you. Let it come forth and shine. In you dwells the essence of the Great Mother and the divine feminine energy of the Universe. You are She who has been worshiped and adored for centuries and throughout the ages. You are a mate, mother, lover, friend, healer, and confidant. In you is everything that anyone could ever aspire to be and more. In you is strength and wisdom, perfection and peace. Shine dear one and show your true nature as a child of the Goddess of the Moon.”

“{Partner B Name/ Groom}, I ask you to call upon all that is divine within you. Let it come forth and shine. In you lives the essence of the Great Stag, the active force that has sparked and powered all life. You are He who has been worshiped and adored for centuries and throughout the ages. You are a mate, father, protector, visionary, friend, and confidant. In you is everything that anyone could ever aspire to be and more. In you is strength and wisdom, perfection and peace. Shine, mighty one and show to all the Ancient Hunter within.”

{To Bride} “Goddess most secret, touch with your grace and fill this woman with your beauty and strength in the unending cycles of growth and change that are the years and seasons of lives spent together in love and wonder. Share with her your fertile nature from which all abundance flows.”

{To Groom} “Lord of light and life, touch with your power and fill this man with your knowledge and wisdom to guide him in this divine alchemy which is the union of two souls. Share with him the secret union of heart and mind upon which this mated pairing must be based.”

Blessing of the Bracers

"Lord of the Forest and Lady of the Moon, guardians of all that is seen and unseen. Bless these symbols and this couple who shall wear them. Keep them safe through adversity forever supported by your eternal blessing."

“Since the beginning, our people have shared tokens such as bracers, rings, necklaces, or even markings to symbolize the bonds they form with one another. They believe that the words that were spoken during the placing of these symbols would resonate over and over, like the circumference of the bands themselves, through to the heart and soul of both giver and receiver of the most monumental promise of all. The promise of a lifetime as mates, lovers, friends, and partners."

Vows Under the Gaze of the Goddess

This part of the ceremony is wholly unique to those being bonded and blessed. Traditionally, the groom speaks their vows first, followed by the bride. These are not only words of love, but promises made before Elune, under the light of the moon. After the words are spoken, the officiant pronounces them blessed and bonded to one another for the journey ahead. As such, the ceremony is sealed with a kiss!
