Comfort Cuddles

Todays mission hadn’t gone…great. Everyone came home slightly beat up and broken. Raph was stressed. Leo and Donnie had decided to retreat to their rooms to relax and unwind from what just happened. Raph sat watching whatever had been playing on the projector, a stuffed bear in hand when Mikey joined him.

He took one look at Raph and immediately saw what was going through Raph’s little head. Mikey took a calm approach to this as he sat by his brother and softly spoke, “Hey Raphie”. Mikey’s words were kind and slow as to not scare his brother. Raph looked over, his eyes full of that innocence he gains when he regresses. Raph smiled at Mikey softly as he reached out for his brother. “You good there big- little. Little guy?” Mikey asked with a tilt of his head.

Raph softly nodded in response to the question at hand, he kept his little stuffed bear clutched to his chest. Mikey’s hand softly landed on Raphael’s shoulder as an act of comfort, his older brother seemingly leaned into his touch. Mikey shuffled closer once again, this time he was resting his head against his oldest brothers shoulder instead, Raph seemed pleased with this. The silence between the two brothers was deafening the only noise they could hear was their brothers arguing in the distance, that was until Michelangelo spoke up.

“You were really brave out there today buddy…”

His voice was soft and reassuring, as if he was speaking to a child because well, he sort of was. Raphael looked at his youngest brother with a soft smile, he looked pretty happy to hear the praise he was being given. That only encouraged Mikey to dish out more of it. “You were really super out there, you protected us all, you kept us safe, even when you were scared and didn’t know what to do you still managed to help us and we love you for that Raphie. We’re all really glad to have you here”

The next thing Michelangelo felt was his brothers strong grip around him in a bear hug, even when this small Raph still had a good grip on him, he heard he soft mumbles and hums of happiness coming from Raphael and it made all this pain worth it.

Percy: "Don't I know this 😏."

Nemo: "Ohhhh, Tata look! What's that?"

The kid let go of his father’s hand and bent down to observe something in a puddle of water nearby. A strange long black string moved slowly in wide circles. Suddenly it stopped: it rose on his willowy body to observe the young boy with its smart yellow eyes.

Nemo: "Hi! My name's Nemo Jackson-Milligan. What's yours?"

...

Nemo: "Really? I didn't know they existed! And they left you here? Baaaaadddddd!"

...

Nemo: "Do you want to come home with me? I'm sure Tata can smite them for you! He can make monsters too, you know?"

...

Nemo: "Okay 😁".

The long black string - close up, it looked more like a water snake - began to crawl towards Nemo, rolling up on the offered arm until it settled placid on the child’s shoulders.

Nemo: "Tata, Papàs!!! I made a friend!!! Can he live with us?"

Percy: "The fu... dge!!! 😳"

Luke: "Sure!"

Percy: "LUKE!!!"

Nemo: "His mama left him here, because he didn't want to kill some dude named Thoro? And he has been alone ever since! His name is Jur... Jor... I'm going to name him Juju 😁."

Percy: "Why do I feel like this is gonna bite us in the ass?" *facepalm* "You can't take home every animal you find, baby. They can be dangerous."

Luke: "It's a water snake, Percy. They're harmless 🤷. And every kid needs a pet sooner or later."

Percy: "Mmm. Never heard of Lord Voldemort, right Luke? 😑"

Lee: "Juju looks a lot like the giant snake from Uncle Raphi's book 🤔."

Percy: "Which giant snake, Lulu?"

Lee: "The one who hugs the world! 😁"

Percy: "WHAT?!"

Luke: "Jormungandr?"

Lee: "Yes!"

Luke: "Uhhh 😶".

Nemo: "You're sooooo smart, Tata! You can say Juju's whole name!"

Percy: "Did our son just find a fucking monster snake?!"

Luke: "Uhhh 😶."

Juju: "Greetingsssssss Lord Darknesssss and lady wife 🐍".

Percy: "I. AM. A. MAN!"

Luke: "That's not what you said last night, babe 😁. Greetings, mighty Jormungandr. I hope you understand how our hospitality is not for free. Should something happen to one of my boys, I won't hesitate to destroy you 😠."

Juju: "I will keep thisssss in mind, Lord Darknesssss. I've heard frightening and amazzzzzing thingssss about you and your nesssssst of young beassssstssss 🐍".

Luke: "Oh! You hear that, Perce? We have a street creed now 😁."

Nemo&Lee: "Can we keep him, Papàs pleaseeeeeee? 🥺"

Juju: "Yesssss, pleassssseeee 🐍."

Percy: "Luke, we don’t even know what a giant snake eats!"

Luke: "He can eat all those pests your uncle Zeus sends us every week 😉."

You Can Do It!

I couldn’t stop thinking about the turtles as babies/toddler’s because darn it they’re so freakin adorable 🥺❤️, so here’s a little fic I made were little Donnie accidentally falls when trying to skate down the skate ramp, and his disaster twin Leo tries to make him feel better.

“Heeey Don Don!!!” Leo called to his twin as he ran as fast as his little legs could take him.

Leo panted excitedly as he had found a new game for them to play with their brothers and was running to tell Donnie all about it. He stopped running when he saw the young soft shell turtle sitting by the skate ramp, crying as he clutched at his ankle. “Don… what’s wrong? Why are ya crying?” Little Leo asked his brother.

Little Donnie sniffled “I-I’m not c-crying.” He said as he tried to wipe his eyes.

“Yes you are!” Leo said stubbornly. “Did ya get hurt?”

The little crying turtle mutant hesitated for a moment, and then nodded. “I-I fell. I t-tried to skate down the r-ramp and I-I tripped and I f-fell…”

“Oh? Where does it hurt?” The red stripe eyed turtle asked him. “Here..” Donnie sniffed as he showed his twin his ankle.

Leo bent down to touch it but Donnie recoiled, “WAH! Don’t! It hurts!”

“Should I get dad?” Leo asked nervously.

Donnie nodded as he tried to suppress another sob.

Splinter came rushing down as he saw the little turtle mutant on the floor. “Oh, my son what happened?” He asked.

“I-I fell and got hurt.” Donnie told him, and now seeing a proper caregiver (well, as far as he knew anyway, with his lack of knowledge of good parenting) he bursted into tears.

“Ohhh, there there little one…” Splinter said kindly as he scooped up the darker toned turtle.

Splinter, with Leo following, brought Donnie to the couch, where he laid him there. He left for a moment and came back with ice and bandages.

“This will make you all better.” Splinter told him as he patched him up expertly, having been injured himself from fights multiple times. “Now,” he told his young mutant son, “you are not to get up. You must wait for your foot to heal.” And with that he left.

Donnie sniffed again, “I’ll never be able to get it right.” He told Leo sadly. Leo grinned at him, “Don’t you worry Don Don! You can do it! You just gotta keep trying!” He told him cheerfully.

Donnie wiped tears out of his eyes and gave a small smile, “you really think so?”

“I KNOW so!” Leo exclaimed, making Donnie giggle softly. “Just you wait Don, once that foot is all better, you’ll do it again, and next time, you’re going to show us all that you can do it! Raphy and Mikey will be so surprised!”

Donnie’s smile grew as he attempted to reply with a small “yeah!”

Now I ain't much of an 18+ reader, not really my gig ya know. I ain't too comfortable with it, so you're probably asking then why are you reading it?

Well friend, let me tell you. Because it makes me think. Your stories specifically. Many a times I've had to put my phone down and I've been caught by my roommates with the most intense look on my face.

My friend once said that something is considered art if it makes you feel something, anything, whether good or bad. And let me tell ya Miss Cleric, you've certainly got me feeling somethings.

You certainly have a gift with words as well as speed (like dang sis how you write so fast so much?!) and you use them most expertly, and to that I tip my hat at you.

I hope that you take care of yourself and remember that you are valued and appreciated just as you are ok honey? You don't have to do anything to work or earn love. You are worth loving and experiencing simply by existing mkay? 🧡🙌🏼

Also, if and only if you're feeling up for it just because I need some closure, can we get a part 2 of the recent Rise Raph snippet? I really wanna see how Raph responds when he finds out what happens and how it goes down when Y/N gets out of surgery. Like I would love to see the recovery trauma of having to talk to someone close to you, even when it wasn't necessarily their fault

Or I’d love to see your twist on using hypnotism, but if and only if you’re feeling up to it. If not and if this is too forward then I totally understand.

I don't feel like I write very much or very fast tbh 😅 took me about a week to write I Know Now, for example, which wasn't even a full 3K. But uh. Being obsessed with the turtles and getting ideas that I really like does help a lot I won't lie lol

Ahhh Raphie boy. I really put him and reader through it. I would like to maybe write a second part, but if I do, it won't be for a while. It's such a hard topic, and it took me hours upon hours to write part one. It is on my mind though, to write a part two. When I get the time, energy, motivation, etc. And oh my GOD. Hypnotism........... Donnie recording Hypno's power and figuring out how to tweak that and use it in the bedroom... or even some kind of dead dove fic involving hypnotism... oh I would love to tackle that... [stares at my current pile of WIPs and winces] at some point...

Side bar- When did I become the type of person who has multiple WIPs??? I can't believe this. [Points at turtle fam] This is all YOUR fault!! /j /lh

They influence each other a lot! It’s very sweet

Here’s an unnecessarily long analysis/gushing sesh under the cut

Raph and Leo

I think 03 Raph is neat because when Leo is being corny and sappy he actually really has his back about it. He will make fun of Leo for all kinds of things but never for expressing his feelings. I think he genuinely appreciates Leo’s way with words, and even more so his commitment to do what he believes is right (which is why it hurts so bad when they disagree about what’s right because they’re usually each other’s biggest supports but that also includes not backing down from their principles)

Leo really admires Raph’s strength. I think he sees him as courageous, which is absolutely something he himself actively explicitly works to get better at during the series.

Raph and Donnie

These two are fun actually because they’re so closely knit, but I don’t think of as many moments/traits where they mimic each other. When they sit down to watch football together it doesn’t feel like Raph made Donnie a sports fan, it feels like they both love it. When Donnie wants to drive something he’s never driven before and dear sweet Raph gets into that vehicle knowing fully well his brother is a maniac, it doesn’t feel like a role reversal from their usual Guts and Glory Icon and Levelheaded One, it feels like them. (Although there is that moment when Donatello actually makes the comment “since when am I supposed to do the crazy stuff? Isn’t that your forte?” but this is because he was just a lil nervous about jumping from one moving car to another and being responsible for defusing the bomb. Also I think his nerves were shot from the apple game this whole ep because he was a bit jumpier than usual. Also also the way he phrased this feels less like ‘this is unfamiliar and beyond me’ and more like ‘this is not what people know me for.’ I have two sisters and all of us write, got the maths brains, and some type of art. But one of us is known for singing and one is known for drawing and one is known for writing. I can sing okay but when they ask at big family gatherings it’s her job, especially back when I was a petty teen.) Does this make any sense? They’re so different and out of all the turtles, so supportive and accepting of each other’s differences. They don’t have one mind in the way Raph and Leo do, but maybe it’s almost more like they have one soul. Generally they express it quite differently but the strength, loyalty, sense of justice, curiosity, is all there and fully belongs to both of them.

Raph and Mikey

Ehehehehehe. I love them. Mikey adores Raph. I love when he’s thinking about ‘what would Raph do’ in the little Christmas ep. I love early in season one when they’re in for a fight and Raph says “it’s been fun guys” and Mikey’s like “even me, Raphie? 🥺” and because Raph is the best big brother ever he catches on to the insecurity behind the half-joke and says “especially you.” They big each other a lot but they admire each other so much. Raph adores Mikey too, I think. He knows how capable Mikey is and I think he (and all of them) never want Mikey to actually have to become that capable. Does that make sense? Also the way they react to each other getting injured 😭 (we had a lot more opportunities to see how Raph reacts to Mikey getting injured, but on the rare occasion that it’s Raph, for example Jungle Girl episode, Mikey is likewise devastated and angry at the world). Anyways what sticks out to me here is how they handle situations, especially bad ones, pretty differently, but they are on each other’s minds. Especially Mikey with Raph, he wants to be like him. (Which is so fair honestly Mikey you picked the right role model. Even though you actually picked all three of your brothers which is going to make things complicated for you. Actually maybe you should just focus on being your own person. Turtle? Look it doesn’t matter you’re adorable.)

Leo and Don

I like this dynamic in a different way than I like the other dynamics. I want to study them under a microscope. Equal love but instead of puppies they are bugs. Idk. They both got that hyper focus. When Leo is meditating, don’t bother he can’t hear you. If he’s working on a new move, that’s the only thing he’s going to talk about until he’s satisfied it’s perfect (that was actually so cute in the meet Casey Jones ep). If Donnie saw a cool bug, he probably didn’t notice the fireworks. (One of my favorite examples is when the Triceratons are trying to take that city right? And Hun and Stockman are trying to betray Karai and Chapman? So so the turtles get the city back in the ground, and the other three are having this deeply intense conversation with Karai about why she keeps returning to the Shredder when she has a chance to escape. This is where she asks them how easily they could abandon Splinter if he asked them to do something they knew was wrong. And it gets to them. Leo is the most focused on but you can see it in Raph’s and Mikey’s faces too. And then there’s Donnie. He has noticed nothing. Did not hear does not read the room. “Hey, isn’t that building supposed to be facing the other way?” Moment successfully ended thank you DonDon).

Anyway overall I think these two are alike accidentally, as opposed to trying to mimic what they admire or picking things up because they close. Doesn’t mean they aren’t close or don’t admire, just… I think they largely Came With their similar traits. They would enjoy sitting in the same room doing different activities and both feel very loved and close.

Leo and Mikey

Self-explanatory I think. They are what each other needs. Mikey is carefree and silly, Leo is focused and disciplined. They both know how much they need to the other guy to balance them. When Mikey’s not there Leo fills in the jokes (“airmail,” the way he is in the Usagi episode). Also when Mikey is there he’s the one noticing and appreciating Leo’s jokes. Skdkfjdk a the way Mikey tries so hard to make a nice dramatic line land because he always sees Leo do it. (“Oh yeah? Well you’re the one who should be saying ‘farewell.’ Uh, to yourself!” akskdjd precious baby boy!) And of course we also see Mikey trying to be disciplined like Leo, too, even though it’s never ever going to look the same because they have fundamentally different brains. Grudge Match is an obvious example, he may not seem to be paying attention in the moment but when Leo gives him advice he internalizes it. And actually? During Leo’s dark arc (is that what I’m calling it now?? Jkdjfjfj) there are a lot of moments of Mikey very deliberately methodically trying to pull him out and lift his spirits. Does it work? No. But it does show that he sees the strengths he has that would help Leo if Leo would let him.

Donnie and Mikey

The very nerds. It’s when they dress up as an elderly couple for I don’t even remember why. It’s when Mikey gets hurt and Donnie teases him to keep his mind off the injury while he wraps it (in contrast to Leo or especially Raph, who freak out when they see their baby brother hurt). It’s Mikey saying offhand things that show he was actually listening to Donnie’s exposition dump, or just saying sciencey things generally (“what? Donnie’s not the only turtle who watches Star Trek”). Oh oh oh it’s when they order food at April’s apartment and blame each other. They’re just like. I think they know they can get away with more goofing off with each other than they could with Leo or Raph. They also seem to annoy each other more than they do Leo or Raph. They’re so youngest and second youngest. I like them much.
