people keep telling me to sell my art and i don't really know how but i'm sure i can get some help there and yeah it sounds like a good idea.
thing is, people keep telling me to sell hand-painted clothes and i really can't wrap my head around how i'd even start doing that. it's not like i make the clothes. i'd have to buy the clothes to paint, and i don't want to buy a whole bunch of new clothes in all sorts of sizes and paint them and it turns out no one on earth is actually interested in hand painted menswear except for one guy who liked the design i did on one thing but it was the wrong size. i could buy stuff from the thrift store but even if i put a lot of work into painting them i'd feel weird selling thrift store jeans for the amount i'd have to charge. i would run the exact same risk as the previous scenario, too, but at least i didn't spend five thousand dollars on the clothes. i feel like the best way to do it would be as commissions, but i have no idea how to get the word out to anyone who would commission hand-painted menswear.
why specifically menswear? you ask. well you see women's clothing already has fun colorful interesting options. i want to make clothes for faggots like me. no i wouldn't say no if someone wanted to commission women's clothing but it's not what i want to do, even if it probably would be easier to sell.
