Here are some Queen Bee redesigns I did almost a year ago after that Helluva Boss episode dropped! I also included some thought process behind them~

Chloé Bourgeois, plus 1 bonus Zoé Lee-Bourgeois. I did a hard overhaul of Chloé's design and character. The yellow sweater and white pants were truly atrocious. I liked her concept design with the monochromatic outfit but for my redesign I gave her a deep blue jumpsuit, and a white jacket.

I knew I was going to have Lila as the primary antagonist for Marinette's civilian life. Meaning having Chloé as one too would be redundant. They seemed to understand that in canon as they started playing with the idea of giving her a character arc.

So how to make Chloé an antagonist without her being villainous? Why by making her Marinette's rival of course! And Chloé is like- really into their rivalry. She has a very "Only Marinette is worthy to best me" attitude about things. Which means its no fun if other people butt in.

Chloé does have a bit of a "I'm better than you" attitude, but most don't realize it's unintentional. She works hard to maintain both her fathers political favor and her many investments. But she doesn't lie to the people she respects, and is rather brutally honest about her opinions on her classmates. What she thinks is constructive criticism usually comes off as rude, but any compliment is 100% genuine.

There are few people who understand that, Adrien and Sabrina are two of them. Marinette is the other, over their years of knowing each other she slowly began to realize what Chloé's word meant. That changed her view of her rival, and the two now push each other to their best.

Alya does not understand how Chloé works and tends to get frustrated with the girl, and vice versa. However, the Rena Rouge and Queen Bee are best friends. Bonding over their love of super heroes and devotion to bringing villains to justice.

Now onto Zoé, I'll go into detail for her later. But the main thing you need to know is she's 9 years old, and her big sister loves her very much. Chloé will never forgive her mother for cheating on her dad, but the one thing Audrey did right is giving her the most wonderful baby sister to adore.

More redesigns!!! This time it’s Miss Hound, Scarabella, Queen Bee, and Vesperia. To explain the changes I made:

Miss Hound

Out of all the hero designs, her canon design is one of my least favorites; I actively dislike it. So I went for a very magical girl vibe with her (ruffles along the pant hem and cuffs). I also changed the mask a LOT (the old one made her look like she didn’t have eyebrows) and got rid of the beret completely, instead opting for dog ears. The beret was ugly... I don’t remember if I based her off a specific dog or not but the closest dog I can think of is a jack russel. Also she has a tail!

Scarabella

I also dislike her canon design but not as much as Miss Hound. I really wish they gave her an afro like in the concept sketches (it looked so cute!!!!). I changed her top into a dress that has a slit in the back; it’s meant to resemble ladybug wings. The strips of fabric also look like antennae. I kept with the knee-high boots but made them look more boot-like (heals). I also moved her yo-yo cause... why was it over her crotch in the first place???? weird >_>. Two cornrows into hair puffs cause it’s cute <3. I really wish the show would give her more black hair styles instead of straightening it when she transforms. Also, i couldn’t figure out a pattern for the mask so I kept it blank

Queen Bee

I think her canon design is cute! I only changed it to be what I think embodies Chloe. Most of the outfit is meant to resemble features of a bee such as the dress looking like a stinger, legwarmers to represent pollen, the stripes of a bee, and even the beehive hair do. I like the way the canon mask design looks like eyeliner so I just accentuated that more. i think arm gloves also makes her look classy.

Vesperia

Hot Take! I like Vesperia’s canon design, idrc that it looks like a wasp and not a bee, it slays (especially the boots). Still, changes could be made! Her redesign is meant to reflect the fact that she’s from New York, so i gave her streetstyle pants and an asymmetrical top. Tbh, she kinda looks like a street fighter. Her mask is meant to resemble the markings of a wasp. I also gave her the same beehive hair style as Chloe but moved it down for something more relaxed. I like how her and Chloe’s gloves are like opposites design both being fingerless. Same idea of making her more bee like w/ the pollen on the boots and the stripes

Um, here are some Chloe concepts! I always invision my drawings of the characters to be closer to (American) college age cause I find it difficult to draw like, 13 years olds and their clothing choices 😅

This is the first one I did, very sharp and not anything like chloe’s style, but fun to come up with! I love how I drew her bangs in this. This might be closer to a lazy Queen Wasp (or whatever her name is) redesign

This is a more moth-y bookish Chloe, very soft colors and a cute little vest. As you might have noticed, I really like poofy sleeves <3 I also love the little hair bow/tie

ok, and this one is a little more joke-y but I love it and most likely will do a more fleshed out version. Basically Chloe likes to think she’s a Queen but she’s more like a joker, so that’s what pollen dressed her up as! This would require Pollen to actually have a bit of a spine tho 😅

Ladies and gentlemen: HER.

So I’ve not been posting a lot of art lately, and this isn’t a big “I’m back post regularly” thing. I’ve been detoxing from Miraculous, and I feel great! So now I’m only posting ML art when I really really want to. And that’s the case today! But I’ve officially stopped watching the show. I don’t care to watch something so toxic, so I’m enjoying it in my own controlled way. If that makes any sense, probably not lol.

So, elephant in the room, yes that is Ascended Queen Bee!!! Note that she doesn’t actually get the form in the rewrite, not because she doesn’t earn it but she doesn’t keep her Miraculous. But, hypothetically, if she got it back she would have this form. She earns it and I love her, your honor.

Design wise she hasn’t changed this last time I drew her. I only modified her Queen Bee suit to look more like a leotard and tights, since she’s a sports star. The Ascended form was HEAVILY based on Winx Club’s Enchantix. I can’t help myself. Very Stella, but I love Stella so I’m not complaining.

My art style is going through a renaissance and I’m having so many good brain beans about it

In dating sim au, Chloé is actually the first one to learn heroes’ identities

“You know me, and I do not know you! Unfair!” — she says. Lady, Chat and she have had this little club for a while when enough interest points gained unblocked a miraculous for her

A miraculous route can never be blocked again so even after compromising her identity the bee is still with her. Just under a different name. She’s Bee Knight now. Do remember!

(If Adrien gets to have multiple hero outfits then everyone can.)

Queen Bee redesign

Tried my hand at redesigning Queen Bee. I wanted to keep the original design mostly intact, but make her look more bee like with larger wings, insect like arms, bee chest fluff, etc. & clean the design up a bit to be more animation friendly, ie. removing design aspects I found unnecessary like the lava lamp hair & stomach. Not sure how much I like the final product but I can at least say I successfully made her more bee like without completely redesigning her as a bee

Specifically with the Gluttonous Sin of Beelzebub being my favorite Sin of the group (not necessarily in Helluva Boss, but just in general), I wanted to make a ranking list of my favorite Queen Bee redesigns and their creators for really no other reason than I just feel like it. Now, this is all personal opinions and should not be taken to heart by any means, it's just for fun:

#1. "Beelzebub & Bibi" by @gravcore

♡ In terms of an actual redesign of the original, I love how this artist made "Bibi" because, for one thing, they made sense of the originals hair by giving her a ponytail since way too many characters have a mohawk style (Loona included); two, I cannot explain just how much I adore the clothes they gave her. The top is actually insect based and gorgeous, and not some recolor version of Loona's outfit; and third, they made canon Bee her own character rather than a royal because nothing about the OG read "Ancient Sin" to anybody.

♡ Now, in terms of the actual Beelzebub, here, she's legitimately stunning. Rather than a redesign, I can tell this was the original long before the Queen Bee episode came out, and I love how it reads both "70's party girl" and "regal ruler" all in one. That, and the actual bug design aspect and the color scheme. Above all else, I love how they incorporated the lava stomach in her design, too.

#2. "Beelzebub" by @s3tok41b4

♡ This design can best be described as a literal re-imagine of the canon Beelzebub as it shares almost all her similarities with the actual bug aspect to it that it desperately needed. It's legitimately simplistic but still appealing to the eye, futher showing us that Viv was perfectly capable of making something so simple, but actively chose to make it more confusing than it had to be.

#3. "Beelzebub" by @ruinxl0ve

♡ Similar to the first two, this shares both a regal and party girl bug aesthetic with the added bonus of actually being beautifully emotive despite not even having a mouth. I feel this beautifully differentiates the design from the original while also making it recognizable and I feel that it kinda feeds into the original concept that Queen Bee could literally "feel the vibe", hinting to her being an empath in some manner.

#4. "The Three Bees" by @onehelluvatime

♡ Long story short, these are three individual versions of the Queen Bee and her new placing within the Hellaverse outside of the canon one. For more in-depth explanation of these interpretations, it's best to check the blog yourself. Truly, I love these designs not only because of the visual redesigns themselves, but also the well-crafted and creative explanations and backgrounds regarding these characters. I especially like the idea that the hellhounds within society are half-undead with skull-like appendages and facial aspects.

#5. "Spontaneous Beelzebub" by @redd-byrd

♡ I know it's essentially the same as the canon design, but with the small tweaks that were made to this one (the giant "Bee Butt", the added black lines, the actual bug-like wings, the blue-thin eyes), all of them give a more clear indication (at least to me) that this Bee is more higher up than her fellow hellhounds, meaning she looks a lot more like a hybrid thus making her more grand. It's nice how they added these small details for improvement while still essentially leaving the design like its original.
