Chapter Five: The Tournament (part 1)
A couple of days have passed since the whole drinking incident, Nightmare and I are talking as usual. Plus Eclipse has also gotten a lot more proficient in controlling his firepower. Nightshade has been tormenting the bartender and Cyrice has been keeping up with my treatments, though he's not too happy with me since I managed to open my wounds several times. The tournament is in three days and with me fully healed and everyone’s doing well, I thought we could go look for some clothes in town considering we were running out.
“We should head to town and get some new clothes since we are falling apart and starting to stink no matter how much we wash them,” I said while we were eating breakfast
“Yes get out of my bar for the day” the bartender yells while putting away bottles
“Okay cool it's decided”
As we started to leave Eclipse looked kinda worried, but Nightmare just put his arm around him into a headlock and then gave him a noogie. Once we made it into the town centre the boys went off in one direction and me and Nightshade went in the other.
“So where do you wanna go first?”
“Why don’t we go there” as she pointed at a place that had a diverse range of color
“Okay sure but you can't go causing trouble like usual”
“I'll try you know that it follows me”
As we walked into the store we were both drawn to different areas. I found some nice looking loose clothing with some clear overlay clothing, and Nightshade went with a more emo punk style.
“Let's go try this stuff on”
“Okay Nightshade”
As we started trying on clothes I noticed my hair was getting in the way so I tied it up.
“Nightshade do you need me to tie your hair back” I yelled from the next changing area
“Ya sure”
As I put a shirt on to go and help Nightshade, she fucking came out in her fucking bra.
“Go put a fucking shirt on you dumbass” I yelled while pushing her into the changing room
“Fine, fine jeez you don't have to be such a buzzkill” as she came back out wearing a shirt
I put her hair up and then went back to trying the clothes on.
“Are you done yet?” I said while standing outside the door
“Ya just putting my clothes back on”
“Okay”
As she came out we went to pay for everything but someone stepped in to pay for us.
“Umm excuse me what do you think you're doing” I said pretty annoyed
“Well I’m gonna pay for the pretty lady that gave us a show early”
“That wasn't a show for you so put your money away”
“How dare you….”
“Thank you for your purchase I hope to see you again”
“You as well have a good day, come on Nightshade we should meet up with the others” I said while walking out
“Agreed I can't wait to see what Nightmare and Cyrice got”
As we headed out of the shop the guy who tried to pay for Nightshade grabbed me as his friends surrounded us.
“Let go,” I said while looking at him with a murderous aura
“Haha you look so scary, little girl”
“Silver I'm sorry”
“Its fine Nightshade this it isn't your fault” I said while slowly starting to break the man's hand
“But this always happens to me”
“That's not your fault though it's theirs, no we should probably get out of here,” I said while casually jumping to the rooftop
“Agreed,” she said while jumping after me
“Let's head back to the square”
“Okay”
As we casually jump from roof to roof the guys who were bothering us earlier are now running through the streets to keep up. Once we hit the square we jumped down to meet up with the boys.
“Why do you guys look so out of breath?” I asked while looking where they were pointing
“Oh funny enough we are dealing with the same problem” as Nightshade pointed in the opposite direction
As both the groups converged on us, I noticed someone walking down the front so I moved myself so that everyone was behind me, while everyone else made sure that Eclipse was in the middle.
“Oh what do we have here a bunch of mutts”
“Oh wow what a creative insult coming from a disgusting pile of crap”
“Pffft I wanna talk to the real big dog of the group”
“You are you sexist pig”
The whole group of men behind him started to laugh uncontrollably.
*Eclipse you are going to dip out the back and run as fast as you can back to the inn, do you understand me* I said mentally
“Yes,” he said under his breath
*Keep Eclipse from getting caught* I said to Cyrice
*Yes Silver*
“What thinking about running, weakling”
“Your the only weak one I see here”
*Now*
As me, Nightshade, and Nightmare moved outward into the group, Cyrice and Eclipse escaped out the back.
“Three against six doesn't sound like too bad of odds, right guys”
“Agreed” Nightmare smiled
“Meh it's better than before” Nightshade shrugged
As they got up from the ground they realised that two of us were gone. Lots of people started noticing what was going on.
“Welp looks like it's time to go,” I said while noticing how people were looking
As we went to leave one of them grabbed my hair to stop me, however he very quickly lost his hand. Once we got further away we slowed back down to a walk.
“So how did you guys end up getting chased?” Nightshade asked while walking backward in front of us
“Well some guys started trying to bug Eclipse, he stood up for himself and one of them tried to punch him, so Cyrice stepped in and punched the guy in the gut, then they started chasing us”
“Haha good for him” Nightshade laughed while running ahead
“Agreed good for him”
“I can only guess what happened with you guys, Nightshade”
“She decided to come out of her fucking changing area to get her hair tied up in her black lacey bra, like come on I had asked her not even 30 minutes earlier not to cause any problems”
“Yup that does sound like her,” he said while chuckling a little
“Look guys we’re back,” she said while throwing her hands up showing her bra again
“Dammit Nightshade you are why we have so many fucking problems” Nightmare yelled while chasing her
“Hahaha guys stop your gonna…. Trip”
As I walked over to see how they fell.
“Oh my god, hahahha, is your face okay Nightmare”
“Nightmare get off you’er heavy” Nightshade said while trying to push him over
“Sorry Nightshade”
“Okay you two lets go inside”
“Definitely,” Nightmare said while getting up
“Agreed” Nightshade said while getting help up
When we went inside and sat down, we noticed that Cyrice was laughing while Eclipse started downing drinks.
“Is everything okay?” Nightshade asked while standing behind Eclipse
“That's a nice bra you got there sis, when did you get it?” Cyrice asked in between laughing
“Oh this one,” she said while lifting her shirt “I got it right before we left the port town,” she said while laughing “Why though”
“Oh no reason” Cyrice answered
As Eclipse started choking on his beer the bartender started mouth wide open.
“Stop doing that” Eclipse coughed out
“Stop doing what Eclipse?” as she leaned forward which made her shirt fall and her tits show through the tops
His face turned bright red and his nose started bleeding again.
“Do not get blood on my bar” the bartender said now looking at a wall
“Okay Nightshade stop breaking the poor guy unless your gonna make up for it,” I said while grabbing my knife to sharpen
“Your no fun Silver” Nightshade said while going to sit down
“You can't sharpen that in my bar”
“Fine I'll go outside,” I said while getting up
I went and found myself a rock to sit on and started to sharpen the dagger that Cyrice and Eclipse got me in the trade village, the hazelnut handle that was stained a dark umber color and the silver blade which reflected my sky blue eyes back at me.
However, when I looked up to the sky I couldn't help but to think of a sad lost pup who couldn't find its way. When I looked back down to continue sharpening my dagger all i could see was red everywhere, it was on my hands the ground everywhere, and the longer i stared at it the darker and more sludgy it got.
“Here,” the bartender said while putting a cold cup against my cheek
“Thanks, I guess,” I said while whipping my mouth and taking it “What do you want?”
“I don't know what you're talking about, can’t I just do something nice for no reason” he said while putting his hand on the back of his head
I just looked at him deadpanned while finishing the glass of water.
“Oh please you have yet to do anything without getting something in return” as I picked my dagger off the ground
He just looked at me for a couple of seconds before he decided to open his mouth.
“I want you guys to take Eclipse with you when you leave,” he said in the most sincere way possible
“Oh it's just that, we were planning to do that anyway, if you can’t tell the other three have gotten pretty attached to him,” I said while chuckling “I wouldn't have much choice in the matter anyway” I shrugged while getting up
When I walked back in they were all roughhousing in the bar, but the smiles on their faces were something I could never deny.
“You guys should probably stop before….”
“What the fuck are you doing in my bar”
Everyone stopped immediately, but I couldn’t help but to start laughing, it's definitely the first time in awhile.
“Okay let's talk about the tournament since it is tomorrow,” I said while sitting down at one of the tables
“Okay” they answered while each of them sat down
“First of all, Eclipse, how are the fights set up?” I asked while getting the paper out
“There will be one individual non-fight and a fight, then if we all pass the top four, we will then have a team match if we win the team match we will win the tournament, oh and the whole tournament is nonlethal so try not to do anything excessive our we’ll all be disqualified” Eclipse really emphasised the last part
“What are the non-fights?” Cyrice asked
“Well for the four of us, we will be doing a magic test and for Silver it will be an agility test, speaking of Silver shouldn't you and Nightmare switch places this isn't anything against you but with him being preserved with midnight blue it would be worried if he were to participate in the air section”
“Funny that you mention that, but Silver is pretty much magic illiterate” Nightmare said
“I’m sorry, what?” Eclipse said to dumbfounded unable to believe it
“Ya our village always focused on physical training first and then magic training when you go to the academy, we were all meant to go this year” Nightshade added
All everyone could hear through the silence was the bartender dropping a glass and chattering after hitting the wood floor underneath him. We all turned to look at him, but before anyone could say anything he jumped over the bar and dragged me outside by the back of my shirt.
“What the fuck!!” I yelled as he threw me onto the ground in front of him
“Hey man we respect you but what the fuck was that” Cyrice yelled while exiting the inn
“What can you do?” the bartender asked while completely ignoring Cyrice
“Umm I can make orbs”
“Is that all?”
“Yes”
He had slapped himself in the head by this point leaving a pretty red mark on his forehead, though the annoyance was as thick as molasses.
“Look I know my village didn’t do the best but I have been getting by pretty good without being able to use magic properly” I said trying to lessen his now growing anger
“Why didn't you just have Nightmare show you like he did me?” Eclipse asked while pointing at Nightmare
“Hahah, oh how bad that would have gone” Nightmare laughed
“Eclipse you can see his hair color and you suggest he help Silver, that's just impossible,” Cyrice said while shaking his head
“Do you know what you can use?” the bartender asked
“Ya, I can control fire, water, earth, and air” I said while finally getting off the ground
“What about you guys?” he said while turning to the others
“I can use fire and earth” Cyrice answered
“I can use dark, water, and air” Nightmare answered
“I can do a couple of things but mostly water and air” Nightshade answered with a grin
“Your hair conveys a lot more there girly,” the bartender said while walking over
“Does it now, I wouldn't know like we said earlier our village did not focus on magic” Nightshade answered while looking into his eyes “What can you do I wonder?” she asked while he walked back
“Eclipse, can you use any other magic?” Cyrice asked
“Nope just fire,” he said while having a fire in his hand
“Eclipse, when did you learn how to do that?” the bartender asked a little amused
“Oh I've been training with Nightmare for the past two weeks”
“Oh you have, have you,” he said while looking Nightmare up and down “For someone with no fire magic you did a pretty good job,” he said as he walked back over to me “Now you on the other hand”
“Me what, I'm doing perfectly fine and I know enough to get me through annoying situations,” I said now stepping back to not let him get any closer
“How do you three know how to use magic so well” he turned to face them
“Well that's not something we are supposed to talk about,” Nightshade said now sitting on the ground
“What?” the bartender asked now walking toward the three
“We aren't allowed to talk about it” Nightmare reiterated getting between him and Nightshade
“Does this have something to do with why Silver is bigger than you guys in your wolf forms?” Eclipse asked not thinking his words through
“How stupid are you?” Cyrice asked while smacking his face
“This makes sense now, Silver, are you the next chief of the village?” he asked walking back over to me
“No” I answered annoyed by this whole situation “look I'll just stick with combat its not unordinary for someone to not always look like they use a second element so it should be fine, but I don't want to talk about this any longer”
“You can't just walk away from me because you don't like the conversation,” he said going to stop me
“Your right however you are the inn and bar keep and you need to stay out of my business”
As I went to walk past him however he tried to grab my arm but was stopped by a dark wall, when I walked back in I rubbed the top of Nightshades head in thanks and then went up stairs.
“You should drop it, she may not look it but she does understand what kind of situation she's in, and while she says she doesn't know how to use magic she does unconsciously” Nightmare said while walking inside and then up the stairs
As the others walked in it was just Eclipse and the bartender outside.
“I hope I didn't upset them too much with my question?” Eclipse said before he walked in
As the bartender was the only one left on the front lawn, he started to seriously question how he got himself into this mess.
*knock knock*
“Silver, can I come in?” Nightmare asked from the other side of the door
“Sure”
He opened the door to see me laying down and facing the other way, but he also realised the protection runes I put up all over the room. As he walked over he started getting more and more worried since the runes almost tripled in amount.
“Silver I think we should talk”
“I really don't want to Nightmare, too much has happened over the last couple of months”
He turned me over so he could see me and while I tried really hard not to let him, I ended up failing pretty hard. He saw my tear drenched cheeks and puffy red eyes.
“Oh Silver” he said while hugging my into his chest
“Stop babying me Nightmare” I stated while trying to wrestle my way out of his arms
“Your struggling in vain Silver” he chuckled as he held me tighter
“Fine but don't blame me if your shirt gets soaked” he's warm
“I would never,” he said kissing me on the forehead
I remember crying for a long time, but I passed out and don't remember much after that. When I woke up it was still warm, i guess Nightmare hadnt left yet which was embarrassing enough, but Nightshade’s smiling wasn't helping. We got dressed and headed to the tournament ground.
Eclipse had said that the tournament lasts three days, the non-lethal tests happen on the first day, the individual fights happen on the second day, and the final fight happens before the feast on the third and final day.

Part Eight: Hope
Atsumu x fem reader , Suna x fem Reader, Hinata x Fem reader
A/N: I’m so sorry it took so long to put out this chapter I’m gunna try to do better on posting faster. I’ve had a lot of stuff happening irl. I love see so many of your write in for the poll 😂 I did not expect Sakusa to pop off! I hope y’all like this chapter. Again it’s still kind of short but I wanted to get it posted. Also you can’t convince me Hinata doesn’t use an all in one cleanser!
Warning: crude language, not much angst, some fluff.
Part Seven: Regrets
Tumblr media
Hinata stared at his phone questioning whether he should message you again. It had been four days since you ran out of his apartment. You had yet to respond to any of his texts. As concerned as he is he knows no good will come from spamming you. Although he wants nothing more than for you too talk to him. He was so confused where you both stood. But he was sure of one thing, and that was that things couldn’t go back to the way they were before. He can’t go back to pushing down his feelings and pretending he doesn’t want to be more. That he didn’t want to call you his and show you off to the world. To take you out on dates try new experiences and make memories with you. He can’t keep acting like he doesn’t dream of waking up to you in his arms every morning. He wants to be there with you every step in life and support you no matter what. He wants to show you that you are the most amazing woman he’s ever known. As much as the sex is amazing it’s not worth holding back anymore. He knows you may still not be ready for a relationship and he wouldn’t think about pressuring you into one after how horribly your last ended, he’d gladly wait for you to be ready but he has to be honest with his feelings instead of torturing himself.
The sound of his alarm snapped him out of his daze. Time to get ready for practice, he groaned pulling himself from the comfort of his bed before heading to the shower to start his day. He shuffled in the bathroom hooking up his phone to his Bluetooth speaker starting up with morning playlist beginning his morning routine. He loved jamming in the shower. He turned the water on letting the heat build as he brushed his teeth before climbing into the steaming shower bopping his head to the beat of silhouette by Kana-boon having to refrain himself from attempting to naruto running in the slippery bath. He stood there for a moment enjoying the heat hitting his back and loosening his muscles. Losing himself in the music as he grabbed his three in one, body wash, shampoo and conditioner. He scrubbed his hair and body screaming the lyrics to the next song. “Sawaras nai kimi wa shojo wa na no Boku wa yarichinbitchi no osu da yo !!,” he was jamming out when the song was interrupted by the sound of a notification. He thought nothing of it figuring it was just Bokuto-San. When the chimes continue his curiosity won out as he peeked out passed the curtain still covered in bubbles to see who was spamming his phone. His eyes grew wide as he saw your name lighting up his notifications. He rushed for his phone loosing his balance and slamming the shower wall to keep himself from falling on his ass as he scrambled out still dripping and soapy as he stood in bathroom unlocking his phone.
YN-Chan 🧡: Hey Shoyo
YN-Chan🧡: you’re usually up by now so I thought I’d message you to say I’m soo soo sorry for how I ran out the other day.
YN-Chan🧡: honestly I should have messaged you days ago but I’ve just been dealing with a lot . It’s no excuse but still I’m sorry.
YN-Chan 🧡: look I totally understand if you don’t want talk to me after how I acted but if you do I was hoping we could get together and talk?
Hinata could see the text bubble at the bottom showing she was typing but he wasted no time pulling up the call button needing to here your voice. It rang two times before connecting. His heart clinched hearing your soft hello.
“Hey Sho,” you answered.
“Hey there YN-Chan,” he greeted back.
He could here a sense of nervousness in your tone. “Hey sorry if interrupted anything.” He realized how hard he was breathing from excitement and from nearly dying trying to escape his shower.
“Oh no no, its fine I wasn’t busy,” he feigned nonchalance. There was a beat of silence as you both searched for words.
“Umm you had said you wanted to talk?” He questioned. He was really concerned for why you ran off that day.
“Oh yeah but I’d much rather talk in person, is there anyway we could get together soon I understand if you’re busy,”
“I’m free tonight,” he cursed himself for how desperate he sounded, “uhh do you want to come over tonight?”
You chuckled at his eagerness. “If it’s okay with you maybe we could go out... to like dinner maybe,” his heart froze his mind reeling with excitement you had never gone out before. Always just opting to have food delivered and eating in. He couldn’t help but let his hopes rise.
“I know it’s not what we usually do so I get if you’re uncomfor-”
“I’d love to!” He cuts you off. Not wanting to miss this chance.
“A-awesome um is 7:30 good for you?” You questioned.
“Yep!” He could feeling his heart soaring as the plans started to solidify.
“Great well I’ll message you all of the details later, bye Sho umm I’ll see you tonight.”
“Goodbye YN-Chan, can’t wait!” He heard a small laugh leave your lips before the line disconnected. There is a wide smile spread across his face as leaning against the wall next to him not even upset that his shower water was now starting to run cold.
Tumblr media
Hinata’s day was instantly better with thought of seeing you tonight the Idea of having a date with you filled him with joy. Everyone could see the difference in the outside hitter today compared to the last few practices. It’s was like he was in the zone. He was all over the court making the cleanest receives and his spikes were just so on point. It was time for there first water break and stretch. He sat on the bench taking a gulp of water a big smile present on his face when he checks his phone to see a message with a restaurant address. His teammates shared a look at the way the ginger stared at his phone.
“What’s got you so happy Hinata?” Sakusa questioned.
“Yeah Sho you’ve been on fire today plus you won’t stop smiling at your phone!” Bokuto boasted wrapping an arm around his newest teammate.
“That obvious huh?” Hinata grinned. “Well uhh the girl I’ve been talking to wants to go on a date tonight!”
“Oh yeah?” Atsumu smirked “the same girl that’s been marking up yer back recently?” Bokuto and the Setter busted into laughter when Hinata’s faced turned red. Sakusa rolled his eye at the childish behavior.
“Uh haha yeah that’s the one,” he chuckled rubbing the back of his head.
“Well if you’re already fuckin her why are you getting all giddy over a date?” The setter asked
“We’ve actually never been on date before,” Hinata admitted.
“Damn Sho, first date! Why’d you wait so long dude?” Bo wondered.
“Really Hinata-Kun I didn’t take you for the casual sex type,” Sakusa stated
“She’s a friend but I’ve like her pretty much since we met but she’s just not ready for a relationship,” he explains “ she has some bad history but we kept fooling around as friends. I’m so excited cause she asked if I wanted to get dinner so I’m hoping maybe she’s starting to open up to the idea.”
“Ha well good luck then bro,” Bokuto smacked him on the back laughing. The rest of them agreed in the well wishes before the whistle blew signaling the end of their break.
Tumblr media
They resumed their intense training. Right now focusing on their serves and some indurance training. The coaches were wearing them out today going over and over drills. Soon enough they were in the locker room showering up a bit and changing as they got ready for their lunch break before they’d have to return to practice. The locker room filled with chatter as they discussed different plays they wanted to work on or where they wanted to grab lunch. There conversation was interrupted when one of the coaching assistants poked their head in.
“Miya-San your fiancé is here to see you, she waiting by the gym entrance.” He stated before turning to leave. All eyes were on the setter when he dropped his phone a look of shock present on his face. His mind was going a mile a minute he was so sure he miss heard the man . There was no way you were here. He stood up rushing to finish getting dressed. There was a pressure in the room he was ignoring some of his teammates sharing a confused look.
“I didn’t know you had a Fiancé Tsumu?” Hinata asked excitedly as the team started following behind the setter.
“That’s because he doesn’t,” Sakusa stated bitterly. Atsumu shot a dirty look back at the wing spiker.
“She left him months ago before you joined the team Shoyo-Kun, she’s are really nice girl though always brought us the best snacks when she’d visit,” Bokuto explained his hungry mind straying as he thought back to her delicious cooking.
“Oh I’m sorry Atsumu,” Hinata apologized.
“Don’t he deserved it,” Sakusa scoffed.
The setter paid no mind to comment there was no point in getting angry with the neat freak he was completely right. It didn’t matter at the moment what mattered was seeing you. He stopped in his tracks when he saw you standing there. You were even more beautiful than he remembered. You were looking at your hands picking at your nails. He could see you were nervous. So was he. What was he supposed to say he knew he owed you an apology and much more but it felt like he couldn’t breath looking at you. You looked up at him your eyes locking. There was a look he couldn’t quite pin point. It wasn’t exactly a look of hated which it was what he expected but it also nothing like the looks of love he used to receive. He didn’t even realize the boys had stopped behind him watching the scene. His eyes only focused on you and nothing else.
That is until he hears a sharp breath from behind him as Hinata called out your name. Bokuto and Sakusa’s eyes snapped to the ginger some confusion present. Atsumu however didn’t look away from you not even when you gaze shifted from the setter to his teammate. This look in your eyes he could distinguish. It was one you used to look at him with. It shattered Atsumu as he realized right then you were the woman Hinata had been talking about. It obvious when he saw a similar look of happiness on Shoyo’s face. It felt like a kick to the gut. An array of emotions swirling through his mind. He was hurt to think you moved on. Disgusted as he thought back to his earlier convo with the man and how they had discussed the scratches on his friends back and now realizing how they were from you. He felt like he was going to puke thinking of his teammate with you in that intimate way. But he knew he had no right to feel this way not after all he put you through so he pushed those emotions deep inside. Returning to the moment.
“Hi Sho,” you gave a small smile as you shuffled nervously in your spot.
“I thought we were getting dinner? We can switched to lunch if you need to tho.” He stated.
Sakusa and Bokutos eyes grew wide finally coming to the same conclusion the setter previously had. Sakusa had to stifle a laugh as Bo muttered “oh shit” under his breath at the awkward situation.
“Um actually Shoyo, I’d still like to get dinner with you. I know this must seem really confusing, and I promise to explain everything tonight, but uhh.. I actually here to see Miya-San.” You explain sheepishly.
Atsumu tried not to flinch at the use of his last name.
You turned to the blonde with a stoic face. “Can we get lunch, we really need to talk.” He nodded not knowing how to use his voice.
You turned back to Hinata with a pleasing look. “I’ll call you later before our date, Sho.” Before turning to leave with Tsumu.
Hinata may be beyond confused right now not yet connecting the dots. But that didn’t matter he couldn’t stop his heart from skipping. Date. It’s a date. He wasn’t overthinking or wishing hopefully. It was an actual date with you! The woman he can’t get out of his mind. And that one little comfort was enough for him to trust the situation as he watched you walk away.

Danger First
Chapter 7
@pocketramblr
.
"Hey, Midoriya?" asked Uraraka, after Aizawa passed out a costume revision assignment and feigned passing out.
"Yes?" said Midoriya, knowing that his eyes were preturnaturally wide and fine tremors were running through his body. He was a wreck.
"Are you okay? Why did you come to class with Mr. Aizawa?"
"And what's that you're holding onto?" asked Kaminari.
"Um," said Izuku. "I was sort of... abducted by the support department? But in a nice way... And they gave me this grappling hook."
"Wow, cool! I didn't know we could get stuff like that from the support department."
"You should really read the student handbook, Kaminari," said Iida, pushing up his glasses.
"But it's so long!"
Iida tsked and adjusted his glasses more vigorously. "You're a student! You should at least be familiar with what is expected of you! Speaking of which, Midoriya, do you know how to use that?"
As much as he could learn from a ten-minute crash-course. "... yes," said Izuku, but it was clear from Iida's face that he had hesitated too long.
"Midoriya! You shouldn't have something like that in the classroom without knowing how to use it!" Iida half stood up, and Izuku clutched the grappling hook closer to his chest.
"No! Mine!" Maybe he was too attached to something he'd only had for a little over an hour, but the support department hadn't been able to give him any smoke bombs or flash grenades due to 'new school regulations regarding explosives' and he'd gone through a lot this morning.
Distress washed over Iida's face, and Izuku wondered if he'd accidentally smacked into some old trauma.
"I wasn't going to take it!" he said, earnestly waving his hands. "I just wanted to make sure you knew where the safety-"
The door to the classroom slammed open. "Is that my little brother I hear?" asked a beaming man in a track suit. Without waiting for an answer, he bounded over to where Iida was sitting and clapped him on the back. "I have come to embarrass you horribly!"
From the expression on Iida's face, this venture was doomed to failure. "I thought you were joking when you said you'd see me today!" exclaimed Iida, beaming.
"Why... why would I joke about that?"
"You joke about a lot of things. Like knowing vigila-"
"Okay! Yes, haha, funny jokester, that's me! Now why don't you introduce me to your classmates?"
"Of course! I have been remiss in my duties as vice president." He stood and executed a ninety-degree bow. "Forgive me! This is my brother, Iida Tensei! Also known as the pro hero Ingenium!"
Izuku could almost see his classmates start to put together the puzzle pieces of Chibiida and extremely tall older brother. He was more concerned about whether or not it would be rude to ask Ingenium for his autograph... and to check his analysis page on Ingenium...
"That's me! And I'll be your special guest TA today! Now, where's Aizawa? You're supposed to have him for homeroom, right?"
As one, the class pointed to the giant yellow caterpillar in the corner of the room.
"Oh my gosh, Shouta, I thought you were joking-"
.
Ingenium was, to put it in a single word, cool. To put it in two words, he was unbelievably cool. So cool Izuku was almost able to forget the impending field-trip-related DOOM they were all facing.
But not quite.
So Izuku slogged through his classes, still thrilled to be there and waning to do his best, but unable to truly focus past the crushing weight of what might happen. His classmates and maybe-friends hovered at the periphery of his suffering, clearly wanting to help, but just as clearly unsure how, or what lines they could or couldn't cross, leading them to resort to painfully awkward normal small talk.
Until they sat down for lunch, that is, by which time Monoma and Iida had gotten into a conversational spiral about how amazing UA was, how awesome Ingenium was, and how UA was truly superior for being able to have pro-heroes like Ingenium come in as TAs on such short notice.
"Midoriya," said Uraraka, startling him out of his fourth or fifth 'Kacchan sweep.'
(It was still possible that his bad feeling was related to Kacchan hunting him down and blowing him up. He'd be mortified about making such a big deal over it if that was the case, but it would be preferable to, say, a terrorist attack.)
(Why did he keep coming back to terrorist attacks?)
"Are you... okay? You've just seemed really down today, and-"
"Invisible hug!" shouted Hagakure before grabbing Izuku and lifting him over her head.
There was a beat of whispering near-silence. Then Uraraka stood up, slamming both hands on the table and inadvertently making it float. "You have got to tell me your work out routine!"
Izuku agreed.
("Strawberry," someone whispered.)
.
"I generally say what's on my mind," said Asui as the Iidas had radically different reactions to the bus seating arrangement.
"Aha," said Izuku. The swaying of the bus plus the strain of probably-Danger-Sense was making him nauseous. "What is it, Asui?'
"Call me Tsuyu."
The first time a person his age let him call them by name since kindergarten, and he couldn't properly appreciate it. Figured.
"I was watching the videos of the battle trials I missed last night," Tsuyu continued, "and I realized, I don't think any of us know what your quirk is."
Izuku's first impulse was to lie or redirect the conversation. Years of quirklessness had left their mark. But on second consideration... was there really a reason to lie? He wasn't going to talk about One for All, obviously, but the rest of it was harmless and bound to come out eventually anyway.
"Well," said Izuku, adjusting the fit of his air filter self-consciously. "That's a good question, actually."
"If you're keeping it a secret, I won't press."
"No, no, that isn't it!" Yes, it was. "It's just that, um, it's really subtle? As in, so subtle I thought I was quirkless until recently. Haha."
"Oh, wow," said Kirishima, "that must have been hard. I mean, I got teased for having a boring quirk, I can't even imagine-"
"Your quirk isn't boring! It's more than enough to be a pro!"
"But what is your quirk?" asked Monoma.
"Um," said Izuku, "well, we're not entirely sure, but... We think it lets me sense things that are dangerous? But I've also got anxiety, so..."
Monoma was frowning, but before he could speak, one of Hagakure's gloves waved frantically in front of his face.
"Is that how you knew I was there?" she asked. "In the battle trial and the entrance exam?"
"Maybe? I think so?"
"You were kind of anxious this morning," said Uraraka, concerned. "Did something bad happen to you?"
"Not- not yet," said Izuku, weakly. "It- We still don't really know how it works, so it could just be the anxiety..." He trailed off. Everyone was kind of staring at him. He pressed back against his seat, wishing there was somewhere to hide.
"Well!" said Uraraka, suddenly pumped up. "We'll just have to keep an eye out! We're hero students, aren't we?"
There was a general cheer of consensus and Izuku managed a shaky smile. So, this was what it was like to have friends.
Eventually, Mr. Aizawa told them to calm down, but there was no heat in the scolding. Maybe, Izuku thought, past the ever-increasing buzzing in his head, today would be okay after all.
.
"Yeah," said Hikage, "there's really no chance of that."
.
The Unforeseen Simulation Joint was an incredible space!
Space Hero Thirteen was about a thousand times cooler in person than on TV!
All Might, in his golden age rescue-specialized costume, looked like he'd just stepped off the pages of a comic book!
But just like Tsuyu's name, Izuku didn't have the ability to appreciate it.
As the other students marveled over the USJ, Izuku watched the adults quietly talk to one another. It seemed to be something serious.
.
"Did you find anything else with the safety checks?" asked Shouta.
"A few of the areas had the difficulty set too high- apparently some of the third-years decided to get some practice in and their supervisor didn't reset everything. Other than that? Nothing." Thirteen shook their head. "No signs of structural failure, no security gaps. Everything seems, well, normal."
"Well," said All Might, "whatever happens, we're prepared!"
Aizawa seriously doubted they were prepared for anything, but the most obvious, most likely things? Yeah.
"What do you think, Ingenium?" he asked.
"Everything looks fine to me," said Tensei, shrugging. "But if it was something obvious, then it wouldn't be so much of a threat, right?"
"We're still not sure how Midoriya's quirk really works," said Shouta. "It could be a threat just to him." He sighed heavily.
Tensei smiled in a way that just about guaranteed Shouta would be teased about this later.
"Well, I'm going to start my speech now!" said Thirteen giving the others a thumbs up. "Wish me luck!"
.
As soon as Thirteen finished their (surprisingly moving) speech, all of Izuku's attention zeroed in on the air next to the fountain. A swirl of dark mist appeared next to it.
Izuku felt like he couldn't breathe.
"Mr. Aizawa-!" But he was already looking in that direction, already watching the man made covered in emerge from the dark hole, followed by a veritable horde of villains.
And Izuku didn't use the term villain idly here. Several of the people he saw were on wanted lists.
Ironically, now that he was faced with real danger, the panicked siren in his head eased off slightly. Evidently, at least some of the strain had been fear of the unknown, and now the threat was very, very known in the worst way, that particular stressor was gone.
"There he is!" cried the man covered in hands. "All Might! The one we've all come for! Nomu! Get him!"
A large villain with an exposed brain who practically sang with danger charged All Might, who grabbed him by the wrist and flung him away, towards the landslide zone. "Ha! That's not much of a challenge! You'll have to do better than that, villains!"
"Maybe," said a villain made of the same mist as the portal that had brought the others. The large villain came charging out of the landslide zone, none the worse for wear. "Maybe not."
"You might be an elite player, but can you fight the boss and protect the noobs you're powerleveling?"
The other villains surged forwards.
This is when Mr. Aizawa and Ingenium jumped into the fray, and everything immediately got more chaotic. Izuku rapidly lost track of the multiple battles occurring around him - except, wow, Mr. Aizawa was really mowing through villains, wasn't he - that Nomu guy had to have a regeneration quirk, there was just no way - he'd have to write down that villain's monolog as soon as they got out, it might have clues - Izuku had no idea that Ingenium could fly and wow that gave him some ideas for Iida-
Speaking of Iida-
"This is no time for analysis! Hurry up and evacuate!"
Right.
"I won't allow that."
Yeah the misty villain definitely had some kind of teleportation quirk, which made this whole thing even more gutsy. Quirks like that were always monitored by the government. These guys must not care about their identities.
"Greetings," he said, a metal colar slipping into place around his neck. "We are the League of Villains. Forgive our audacity, but... today we've come to-"
A gust of air from All Might's fight pushed the mist villain back. But the move had left him partially unguarded, and Izuku watched helplessly as Nomu pounded a fist into his exposed side-
Nomu knew about All Might's injury.
Oh, no.
Izuku didn't have time to process that, however, as Kirishima and Monoma jumped forward, attacking the mist villain.
The feeling of danger spiked, and Izuku barely registered Monoma's bewildered expression.
"Only students... but the best of the best... yes he was right to say you'd be a threat." Darkness spread like an ink stain from the villain's body. Darkness... and portals.
Izuku slammed into Tsuyu and Kaminari, pushing them out of the way of forming portals. He wasn't able to do the same for himself.
"Begone," intoned the mist villain, his voice echoing all around Izuku. "Writhe in torment until you breathe your last."
The next thing Izuku knew, he was in clear light and falling. From at least two stories up, over the flood zone.
And then he stopped.
.
The ghosts whipped their heads around to stare at Nana. She was sitting on a stool, hiding her face in her hands, though whether it was out of embarrassment or fear for Izuku was unclear.
"Nana..." said Yoichi, softly.
"I know, I know, I'm sorry I saw him falling and pani-"
"What did you do that for!" exclaimed Banjo. "He was only fifteen, twenty meters up! Into water!"
"That's twice as high as Olympic divers go! And they screw up their bodies all the time if they hit wrong!" shot back Nana, other emotions abandoned in favor of rage.
"Uh, guys...?" said Yoichi, weakly.
"Who still watches the Olympics?" muttered En.
"If we had to give him a new quirk, it should have been a combat one!"
"You're just jealous that he has Float and not Blackwhip!"
"So what if I am?" demanded Banjo. "If he had Blackwhip, he wouldn't need that stupid grappling hook gun!"
"So, you admit Blackwhip is just a glorified grappling hook?"
"Better than a glorified- glorified-" He puffed out his cheeks. "I'm going to give him Blackwhip right now!"
"NO!" shouted the other ghosts.
"Banjo," said En, "what do you remember about people who All for One gave three quirks to?"
Banjo went pale.
"Oh, hell," said Banjo. "I'm sorry, I got carried away."
"You can say that again," grumbled Nana.
"But," continued Banjo, "doesn't this mean we can't give him the stockpile?"
They turned to Yoichi, who was far and away the expert on the stockpile quirk. He held up his hands and offered a sick, shaky smile. "We've already started the process of giving him stockpile access. There's... there's really no way to stop it."
Nana started swearing, and even Second and Third looked tense.
"But that's borrowing trouble! Maybe he'll be compatable?"
"With three quirks?"
"It's possible!" protested Yoichi. "I mean, he's- um, he's got One for All? Maybe it's more like All for One than we thought?"
"Disgusting."
"No."
"Absolutely not."
"Never say that again."
"But, again, that's a future problem, unlike the villain attack, which is a now problem."
"I see what you're saying," said En, "but we can't do anything about the villain attack, but we could theoretically do something about quirk troubles. Unless you'd rather watch helplessly while our latest-possibly-last holder is murdered?"
Yoichi sighed. "Okay, yeah, let's take a look."
.
Izuku's first thought was that Uraraka must have tagged him, but he had been way too far away from her for her to do that. Unless she had run at him when he dove for Tsuyu? Tsuyu had maybe sort of been between them...
But, no, this didn't feel like Uraraka's quirk. He'd only experienced it a couple of times, but it felt like falling. This felt more like floating on the surface of a pool.
This was, he realized as he drifted helplessly upwards and slightly sideways, Shimura Nana's quirk.
It would be really, really cool if the circumstances were different or if he had any control over the quirk whatsoever. As it was, he didn't appreciate the way he was getting progressively higher. Hitting the water at his previous height would have sucked, but he probably would have survived. Now? Not so much. So, if the quirk decided to stop as suddenly as it had started, he was doomed.
Beyond doomed.
He'd be dead.
Wait! The grappling hook!
He pulled it carefully out of its holster, making sure to wrap the loop around his wrist. He could get back to the ground with the grappling hook, anchor himself at a decent height and make use of this, or even attack, but if he dropped it...
Well. Doom and all that.
His best bet was the top of the downpour zone. It was the closest structure by far. He lined up his sights, fired, and watched as the hook fell several meters short.
That was less than ideal.
He rolled over and looked up. He wasn't that far from the ceiling-
Danger Sense screamed at him, and he was falling, just in time to miss getting hit by a jet of water from below. Izuku, naturally, started screaming as well and fired the grappling hook blindly. He rejoiced as a metallic thunk told him it had hit something and immediately hit the stop button, almost wrenching his shoulders out of their sockets. However, his joy quickly turned to horror as he realized he was now headed toward the hard, unforgiving side of the downpour zone at a dangerously high speed. He squeezed his eyes shut.
Float turned back on.
Izuku let out a somewhat pathetic whine in relief, and hit the retract button on the grappling hook gun, letting it pull him up to the roof.
From here, he had an acceptable view of the rest of the USJ. He shaded his eyes to look back at the main plaza and entrance. He could see Eraserhead and Ingenium fighting back to back in the central plaza. All Might and Nomu were tearing up trees in one of the forested areas, and near the entrance he could see Thirteen, Iida, Uraraka, Shouji, Sato, Sero, and Ashido facing down the mist villain. Hopefully, with those numbers, they'd be able to get past him.
Looking elsewhere, Izuku had to assume Todoroki was in the landslide zone, with the spiky ring of ice in the middle of it. He must be holding back. He could make out a fight happening in the mountain zone, but couldn't tell who was involved.
That was more than half the class unaccounted for, including Tsuyu and Kaminari, who he'd thought he'd pushed away from portals. They were probably in the other zones, but...
He took a deep breath. Focus. Where would he do the most good? Danger Sense couldn't tell him that right now, with all these bright threats all around him. He had to decide on his own.
The fight in the mountain area wasn't going well. The number of visible villains was only increasing.
Could Izuku get there? He bit his lip as he contemplated the distance, then jogged back to the opposite side of the downpour zone roof.
Then he ran.
Then he-
-jumped-
-off the roof.
Float activated at the top of the arc of his jump, and his momentum sent him tumbling forward towards the mountain zone. As he approached and began to slow (air resistance still being a thing, apparently), he was able to see Yaoyorozu and Jiro fighting for their lives. Yaoyorozu did not look good.
This wasn't a great way to be proven right about her quirk having drawbacks.
He aimed the grappling hook at one of the larger, closer villains, not really caring about how much damage it would do, and fired.
.
"Wow," said En. "Kid definitely has a bit of a ruthless streak."
"Imagine how much better he'd do with Blackwhip."
"He wouldn't have been able to get there in the first place without Float."
"Honestly," continued En, "I don't get why Second and Third don't like him. They never shut up about Nana and Eighth being too soft, after all."
"What? They said that stuff about me, too?"
"Yeah, I think they're just unsatsifiable at this point. It's annoying."
"I was much more violent and ruthless than Toshi, though."
"I know."
"Yoichi," said Hikage. "I'm not seeing any sign of additional stress on Ninth's body."
"That's because Izuku is the best."
"Or," said En, "it's because he's only had Nana's quirk for, like, five, ten minutes, tops."
"Or because he's the best. Just look at how he's helped his friends defeat all those villains!"
"Compelling argument," said Hikage.
.
"What- what now?" asked Yaoyorozu, holding herself up with one of her staffs. The mountain zone was littered with various weapons and shrapnel from Yaoyorozu's quirk use. This included a canon. Which was really cool, but seemed a bit over the top... and maybe not the most efficient thing to make, considering Yaoyorozu's limitations.
"I don't know," admitted Izuku. He'd been flung around the field as a makeshift flail/bola by the girls a few times, and was a little dizzy.
He looked back out at the battles still taking place in the plaza. "I think... Maybe we should go down, and make our way around the edge to the entrance. We could pick up Todoroki and see if there's anyone in the ruins zone who needs help-"
Then he saw the hand villain step forward, facing down Eraserhead as Ingenium was lured away in defense of Tsuyu and Kaminari, who had just run out of the wooded area, trailing villains. Danger flared in his mind's eye, and, for the second time in his life, his body moved by itself.

ELE ILY. (and thank you, i’m stayin home today cause,,, yeah. i appreciate you sm.) you’re the literal best, i adore you.
1. How long ago did you start reading fanfiction? Writing fanfiction?
The first fanfiction i read was for The Lunar Chronicles when I was like 11?? and it was 100% on accident and it scarred me because it was a hardcore porn one with a period kink and i was like WHAT IS THIS??? OH MY GOD???? LMAOOOOO i didn’t pick it back up until i was 13-14 and really got into the Fairy Tail fandom. I still reread my favorites on ff.net cause i love them.
As for writing, I wrote a horrible, terrible x-men fanfiction when I was twelve. (my friend still brings it up and REFUSES to delete it so it still gets comments and views, that shit HAUNTS ME ELE.) then tried again for Fairy Tail, posted like two chapters before taking it down cause i wasn’t really feeling it. And then I posted The Intimacy Of Being Understood and here we are.
4. Link your three favorite fics right now.
OMGG okok
@murd3rm1ttens ‘s The Problem How Time Works IF YOU HAVENT READ THIS YOU GUYS NEED TO HOP ON IT ASAP. MITTEN’S WRITING SO SO SO SO GOOD. SAKURA AND INO ARE TOTAL BADASSES. KAKASHI IS A SIMPPPP. ITS SO FUCKING GOOD.
@mouseymightymarvellous ‘s We Were Screaming In Color (Only A Possibility) yes, yes I KNOW. i always point into mousey’s direction but i WILL always advocate that everyone reads her fics, they’re literally so beautiful???? i just happen to be rereading WWSIN rn
@safelycapricious ‘s Shaking Up And Breaking Down series. I found this like?? idfk but i’ve been raving about it ever since. ALSO CHECK OUT THEIR FICS IN GENERAL.
fuck i have more than three but also check out @ambivalens999 ‘s Masks
i do wanna make a fic rec thing where i just rav about my favs,,, might do that later or sum
5. What are your fanfic pet peeves? Do they have a huge effect on whether or not you decide to read something?
Omniscient third person. I don’t like it. Like I can understand that it can be a little hard to stay in one person’s perspective but, in my opinion, if you can, it shows how disciplined you are as a writer. Plus, i just get so confused when I go from A’s thoughts to suddenly what B is thinking about A.
When writers use ‘ ‘ instead of “ “. When writers put thoughts in ‘ ‘ instead of just italicizing them. It’s small things but like they just bother me sO MUCH. most of the time i can ignore it and try to enjoy but other times i just dip.
9. Tag 3 fic writers you think are underrated/unknown in the fandom/fanfiction community.
@espoir-et-reves !!!!! THEIR SHISAKU FICS ARE SO SO SO SO SO GOOD. And they have a warring states one going on THAT I AM SO OBSESSED WITH.
@writer168 idk if they’re really “underrated” but THEY HAVE SUCH GREAT FICS ON AO3. Like theres an AU with sakura, kiba, and shino that i reread constantly because it just. is. so. fucking. GOOD. and they posted a new one that i’m YELLING about.
@eggtoasties okay they only have 2 in the naruto fandom (one shisaku which is still ongoing) BUT THEIR WRITING STYLE IS SO NICE?? I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. I still go back and reread their shikasaku one cause UGH i can’t get enough. I love it.
10. What’s your favorite fandom, pairing, or character to read fic for?
Fandoms: Naruto, Soul Eater, The Old Guard, ATLA
Parings: KakaSaku/ShikaSaku/ShiSaku/MultiSaku, SoMa, Joe X Nicky, Zukka
Character: SAKURA. I will read anything with Sakura as the main character and her being a fuckin badass or becoming a badass. I love her.
17. How obsessively do you sit and stare at your fic after you’ve just posted and wait for feedback?
aha.. haha.. well. I check my email like three times an hour. its the first thing i check in the mornings too. I’m literally a whore for praise and literally eat up feedback like its going out of style. I also reread a lot of my stuff because i make so many mistakes and spelling errors, or the spacing is weird oR SOMETHING. plus, literally any and all comments make my day, i go back and reread them cause they just make me feel so tingly and warm like “wow. this person enjoyed the fic/my writing enough to tell me. thats HUGE!”
23. What’s your absolute favorite trope to write?
Angry, feral, bloodied, morally gray women. They aren’t bad guys, they’re probably the good guy, but that doesn’t mean they cant be fucking raging at the world with raw knuckles and blood on their teeth. I just love an angry woman who struggles with her emotions and just has so much inner conflict but that doesn’t take away from her character or badassery, it adds to it.
24. What’s a trope that you’d like to never hear about as long as you live, let alone write?
The fake dating or miscommunication troupe. LIKE GUYS JUST TALK. AND TELL EACH OTHER OMFG. the entire like obliviousness of “nah they dont like me” while the They holds their hand and kisses their cheek. MOFO WHAT. it makes me so impatient and like mad HAAHHAHA. its probably because i’m a pretty confrontational person so seeing stuff like that just “cmon bro, USE YO HEAD.”
28. How do you deal with writing pressure (ie: pressure to update, negative comments, deadlines, etc)?
I have yet to receive a negative comment! Which i was really surprised about tbh. As for deadlines or pressure to update, i just kind of do whatever. I do set goals, but i set them flexible enough that hey, if i can’t do it, that’s okay.
I have a lot of mini goals, like “i want to write this chapter and get it done this week” and then the large goal is “FINISH BY END OF MAY” so i have time.
Actually, now that I think on it, the entire pressure to update thing is probably why i’m waiting until I have all of OL&W written to post it weekly,, cause well. I wouldn’t wanna leave you guys waiting as I tried to write and work out the next chapters and stuff, you know?
30. Post a snippet from your current WIP without context - no more than 300 words.
AAAAAA YOU KNOW I LOVE THESE AHAHAHAH
Have you seen the way the dead dance, World Breaker? They roar, half mad and starving. Do you not wish, do you not hope to see them twist and bend and dance to your will?
Shikamaru snarls, looking behind his shoulders to where his Shadows lay. “Patience.” He spits. “Is of the essence, Things of Ancient. Know your place as the dark you are.”
34. How much of yourself and your life experiences do you put into your writing? What do you think your readers’ image of you is?
None of my experiences match up to anything I write tbh,,, probably the only thing that is me in my writing is maybe the emotional turmoil? I’m pretty emotionally and mentally mature because from a pretty young age i started forming my own opinions, started looking into the world around us and being like “dude what the fuck this is not what disney advertised”. Then i started talking (read: arguing and debating) with my dad about a lot of it. So, like emotions are kind of hard for me. Like i’m pretty good at controlling them or understanding them, but still. idk its hard to explain ig.
Like the weight of stress, the anger, the sadness. It’s kind of therapeutic to write. Cause i don’t know how to put those feelings to verbal words so writing them really helps.
As for my readers’ image? Probably like some kind of hunched over figure typing away in the dark with a maniacal grin on their face. I honestly don’t know AHHAHAHA but it is fun to think about. I think they’d see me as someone with potential but a lot of room to grow and someone who is imperfect but in a charming way LMAOOOO
38. What does your writing process look like? How chaotic is it on a scale of 1 (very tame) to 10 (you can’t handle this kind of chaos)?
I’m gonna be real honest. Its probably like a 2. I’m a bit of a control freak so I almost always go in chronological order, my writing is pretty linear. Unless, i get bored and jump to one of my fav parts. It's pretty much i sit down, i open the doc, read over my notes and just start writing.
It’s a little boring to explain AHAHAHA but once i get into the groove of things its really fucking great, I can like feel myself in the world, I can feel what i want the characters to, i love it. I catch myself mouthing the words as i type too, which i find hilarious.
39. What’s something about your writing that you pride yourself on?
I rather like how raw my writing is sometimes. Which might sound really vain, but i do like the way i word things or describe things. I love juxtaposition and repetition, or making a good ole circle back to some minute detail that wouldn’t stand out until i repeat it at the end and you’re like “omg” AHAHAHAHA.
Like those little poetic snippets or certain wording i just sit back and go “damn thats kinda good nadia! go you!’ HAHAHA
40. How did you come up with the idea for The Intimacy Of Being Understood?
AAAAA this fic is like my first child, my pride and joy LMAO
so the idea initially came when i was reading some fic, idk if it was even naruto, but i was like “i don't like this, but i do like the rain symbolism.” And I knew i wanted to write something kind of slow paced, something a little sad and angsty, but would show KakaSaku slowly but surely falling in love.
Idk if you’ve noticed but a lot of my fics, the pairings don’t change each other dramatically. They accept each other as they are and then they grow with together. Like that acceptance is something i just love writing, its so subtle, it isn’t something you declare. Its simply “I am going to love you. I am going to love you despite your flaws and faults. I am going to love you unconditionally because I know you, I understand you, and there is nothing you could do to drive me away.”
The fic kind of wrote itself after that first scene. I kept going back to the rain, go being ghosts, and resurrection, and the small epiphanies one gets. I wanted to focus on each character’s growth with each other. They didn’t find light in life because of each other, but with each other. And i think that’s my favorite thing about that fic.
I wanted something raw and real and just something beautiful. I’m actually really proud of it tbh. Would i go back and rewrite/edit it? Oh of course! I’d do that with every single one of my fics, but i’m not gonna cause i think its in its rawest form right now. :))))
ask me shit plz

fic tag game
aaahhh @vishcount thank you for tagging me!!! These are so fun and I adored reading about your fic journey~!  ೖ(⑅σ̑ᴗσ̑)ೖ ❤
OH as a note!! For the ppl I tag at the end I don’t expect you to read all of this bc it’s A Lot!!! but I figured you might want to do this game yourself? haha :)
Name: cross-d-a shortened version of my first ever username. unfortunately stuck with it now haha but i’m fond of it :p wish it was cuter tho!!
Posting the rest of this under the cut so it doesn’t eat up people’s dashes!!
(。•̀ᴗ-)✧
Fandoms:
oKAY YIKES there are....honestly too many too name. I’ve got a short and obsessive attention span so it’s either all or nothing with me usually. When I can stay in a fandom for a long period of time it’s a miracle. I’ll name the bigger ones that I’ve all written fic for! Even if I’ve never posted them haha
Right now I’m very firmly into Daomu Biji (dmbj). It feels like it’s both got a crap ton of content and yet barely anything at all haha. Maybe because the English fandom is so small. But at least there are a bunch of dramas and books!!! I really, really, really adore dmbj so much!! And a large part of that is the fandom!!! It's been a really cool and unique experience! Everyone in it is truly so kind and wonderful, and I’ve made some really incredible friends because of it (looking at you vish!! ❤). I’ve got a bunch of wips, but I’ve only posted two fics for dmbj!
Before this I was very into Guardian and mdzs. MDZS was my first foray into cdramas and Guardian’s Zhu Yilong really suckered me into watching more haha I also have fics for both these fandoms!
My very first fandoms were Fullmetal Alchemist, D. Gray-Man and Naruto. My very old ffnet account has fics for these and I’ve got a bunch of newer wips on my tablet. Then Star Trek, Twilight, BBC Merlin, Sherlock, Death Note, Harry Potter, How to Train Your Dragon, Battlestar Galactica, Avatar the Last Airbender and Marvel were a few of my main ones in high school. Plus a bunch of anime (like Fruits Basket! and Kuroshitsuji and Natsume Yuujinchou).
Then college hit and I renewed my childhood love of Tolkien (mainly lotr and the Hobbit), and Star Wars. I also found Teen Wolf! Then after college it was Stranger Things.
I find myself in a cycle of mild fondness and complete obsession with these fandoms haha I go back to Star Wars at least once a year!! Then I’m in the gffa hole for a few months. Marvel also reoccurs, depending on how interested I am in new content! Star Trek I always always always go back to. TOS is my comfort show and it will never fade from my heart ❤
But for now I’m stuck in cdrama hell and I love it
Tropes:
Time travel, found family, whump+hurt/comfort, fairytale-like elements, resurrective immortality (thanks to a “Nine Lives” Hobbit fic), CROSSOVERS
I’m a slut for all these things so they often worm their way into my plots haha
I also just- love weird premises. I think that’s the anime influencing me haha
Fic I spent most time on:
My series he leaves sand and stardust in my wake (main fic is hurricane on the edge of oblivion), I have...spent five years on now. I have done so much research for this fic it’s insane.
The premise is force ghost!Obi-Wan getting shunted back into his tiny 10 year old self. I incorporate a shit ton of legends and I try to stay as canon as possible. I basically want this au to feel like it’s 1000% plausible while still getting all my gay shit. It’s chock full of whump, redemption, found family, minor characters turning into major characters, and I’ve got slavery uprising on the mind, too. It’s just- everything I could ever want to explore in the Star Wars universe basically.
It’s my first big project. I started doodling and scribbling ideas in the margins of my notebook in my Scottish History class. I adore it so so so much. But, because of my hyperfixation and fleeting intense obsession with things it makes it- really difficult to consistently update. I leave it for months at a time and I am constantly guilt-ridden about it. Because it’s my baby and I have a lot of wonderful readers. I fear I’ll never be able to finish it. Especially since I’ve written so much and I’m still only in the beginning of it. ( ; A ; )
Also, I’ve spent so much time with Xanatos, Feemor and Bruck that they just feel like mine now. I can’t read any fics that involve them, it’s too strange. Which is a damn shame because I love them so much haha OH ALSO!! I think it’s the first really big fic to include those three?? So I’m very proud about that haha (I’ve had so many ppl comment about how they actually Give A Shit about these three and are Invested bc of me haha)
Favorite fic(s) you’ve written:
hurricane on the edge of oblivion (with nowhere to go) (Star Wars)
My long-term passion project. My love-letter to Star Wars, I suppose. Reading it now I feel like a lot of it is clunky or long-winded, but I think it really shows the foundation of my writing today :) Main characters are Obi-Wan, Xanatos Du Crion, Qui-Gon Jinn, Bruck Chun and Feemor. Eventually we’ll get to Maul, Savage, Feral, Shmi Skywalker, (more!) Ahsoka, Anakin and a shit ton of clones ❤
things we hunger for (Guardian)
My Ye Zun self-indulgent fic. It’s a time travel amnesia Weilanzun! Honestly has some of my fav writing I’ve ever done. It’s so soft and really indulges in the hurt/comfort. It gives Ye Zun the friends and family I think he deserves. Also, he gets to grow into a (mostly!) functional person and I adore him.
the beast that slumbers within your soul (mdzs)
Jiang Cheng centric fic!! I feel like all my favourite fics I’ve written are love letters haha. This is one def my love letter to Jiang Cheng. This fic possessed me for two whole days. I wrote 16k in almost one sitting. I went to sleep at 6 in the morning bc I couldn’t stop writing. And when I drifted off I kept thinking of new ideas so I’d whip out my phone and write down lines and notes. I- have never ever ever felt that way about anything. It was- insane. It felt insane. It was so amazing. I’m still riding the memory of that high.
Basically Jiang Cheng actually finds Baoshan Sanren and it turns out she’s a fox demon and Jiang Cheng is descended from wolves. It’s- okay I said the fic above this had my favourite writing?? That was a lie. This has my favourite writing I’ve ever done. It’s unfinished bc I am in dmbj hell but I am still excited about the next chapter which features Wei Wuxian’s pov!!
the whispers of spirits (dmbj)
My current passion project. In a way it kinda feels similar to hurricane? Bc multiple povs, incorporating different aspects of canon (we’ll get there!! I promise!), shit ton of research, etc. etc. I really really really love it for so many reasons. I’m basically taking all the things I was unsatisfied with in Reboot and Sha Hai and running with it. Found family and whump galore! It’s also a love letter to the women of dmbj who really deserve so so so much better.
Honourable mention to:
One Day (you’ll have given more of yourself than is meant to be taken) (Marvel)
This fic also kinda possessed me. I just- couldn’t get rid of the idea of a trans!Thor. And I mean a mtf Thor! It’s just? So many people look at Thor and go “that’s a Real Man.” Full stop. They never think there could be anything more, and it really really really bothered me. So I wrote out my feelings. I’m not trans. I don’t have that experience at all. I’ve had issues and confusion about my gender but nothing like this. I just wanted to do justice to this idea of Thor in my head. And I still feel a bit nervous having posted it. But I've gotten so many comments from people who really connected with what I’ve written? So I’m very very thankful I wrote it and it has a very special place in my heart. It’s a very cathartic fic.
Fic I spent least time on:
Probably we rise (Star Wars) and I think it shows haha. I wrote it in response to Dave Filoni posting a drawing of Ahsoka and Gandalf telling her “People thought I was dead, too, and look how that turned out...” So I incorporated Ahsoka (and Din and Grogu and Ezra!!!) into the ending of Rise of Skywalker, kinda explaining how I think they could all still be alive. :)
Longest fic:
hurricane is my longest fic (159k) but I’m kinda worried whispers will eclipse that.....
Shortest fic:
Of my posted ones it’s The Five Moments it Took Tony and Scott to Admit They Were Best Friends (and the first time they ever did), currently clocks at 1.6k. It’s unfinished tho so maybe that doesn’t count.... otherwise it’s we rise which is completed and 2k.
Most hits/kudos/comments/bookmarks:
hurricane overall has the most of all these. Though I don’t think hits counts as much bc it’s multi-chapter. If you discount multi-chapter stuff, most hits goes to my obikin smutfic Homecoming, bc people are horny af haha
Fic you want to rewrite/expand on:
If I had energy I’d like to rewrite the beginning of hurricane bc it feels so so wordy. I’d want to expand on One Day bc I really would like to write a whole series with trans!Thor. And like- I’d really like the focus to finish any of my WIPs.
Share a bit of a WIP: I really wanna share my Guardian/dmbj crossover that I started back in August. Bc I adore the idea of wu xie&shen wei&ye zun triplets! Plus time travel!!! I dunno if I’ll ever finish it tho ( ; A ; ) It just feels like a lot to deal with right now.
This scene takes place during the Mountain Awl arc. Guardian crew and desperado fam run across each other at the village! Wu Xie has recently found out that he’s adopted and he’s searching for answers in the area Sanshu originally found amnesiac!toddler!Wu Xie in :) Gonna pull two snippets bc I’m v excited and this might be the only time anyone else sees this fic haha:
“Oh?” Pangzi focuses on Yunlan now, lips twisting. “You think I’ve ‘got the wrong guy,’ huh?” He laughs, but it’s not a nice sound. “That’s rich! Are you that cocky or are you just stupid?”
Bristling, Yunlan drops his hands and scowls. “Excuse me?”
“Sir,” Shen Wei tries. “I think—”
Pangzi’s eyes snap back to Shen Wei, sharp and blazing. “How dare you fucking steal his face!”
What?
Automatically, Zhao Yunlan turns to Shen Wei, but the professor looks just as shell-shocked as Zhao Yunlan feels which- is seriously something. Since everything about Shen Wei is so carefully controlled, kept to the minimum. Except for those delightful little smiles that bloom across his lovely face, or the startled little bursts of laughter that fall from his lips. Or even when anger and frustration spark across his features, cracking his calm veneer open enough that he can see a glimmer of what lies beneath, the fire in those eyes. Zhao Yunlan delights in those moments, makes a game of making Shen Wei’s control slip.
He tells himself it’s nothing more than a game. Nothing more than trying to find out what makes Shen Wei tick.
Zhao Yunlan’s always been very bad at lying to himself. Or very good. Depending on who you’re asking.
“What the hell are you talking about?” Yunlan splutters.
But before anyone can say anything else, a very familiar voice calls:
“Pangzi? What’s wrong?”
Yunlan can feel Shen Wei stiffen, and Yunlan himself is pulled to that voice like a planet in orbit, like the inevitable plummet to the ground.
Another shadow wavers in the doorway before it steps out onto the dirt. Light illuminates shaggy hair, limning it gold, sharply casting everything else in shadow. But as the figure nears, the contrast softens until Yunlan can see the newcomer’s face properly and- and—
“Wu Xie!” Pangzi growls. “We’ve got ourselves an impostor!”
The man wearing Shen Wei’s face steps up to them, brows furrowed and mouth pulled down into a sharp frown. He glances between them, eyes landing on Shen Wei. His scowl deepens. He opens his mouth, but then—
“Wu Xie?” Shen Wei breathes, all trembly and lost and hopeless.
Heart in his throat, Yunlan turns to Shen Wei again. Turns and flinches at that stricken look upon Shen Wei’s pale pinched face.
“A-Xie?” Shen Wei chokes. “Didi?”
and
Pangzi snorts. “Professor?”
“I-it’s true!”
Startled Yunlan swings his attention over to Jiajia who clenches her backpack to her chest, face screwed up in admirable determination. “P-professor Shen took me and Xiao Quan on a field trip to investigate an archeological site around here!”
“Oh?” Wu Xie drawls all slow and amused. “Well, what a coincidence. We’re archeologists, too.”
“With guns?” Yunlan bites out.
Wu Xie raises a brow, grin full of teeth. “Well, you can never be too prepared.”
“Right,” Yunlan drawls right back. “Are you a professor, too, then? You come here with your students?”
Wu Xie outright grins. “You could say that, I suppose.”
Out of the corner of his eye, one of the men rolls his eyes. He’s the one with sharp features, glasses and looped earbuds. Does he think it’s appropriate to listen to music at a time like this? Yunlan admires the man’s gall.
aahhhh vish thanks so much again for tagging me!! This was so fun to relive my fic memories!! I’m gonna tag @alwaysaslutforshakespeare @jockvillagersonly @tehfanglyfish @lichelleme @undyingsunshine @humanlighthouse  @thewindsofsong I’m curious about your guys’ writing and fandom journey!! Chapter 16: easy being nice to a bitter boy like him
Welp! I just thought it’d be cool if I posted fic on my birthday. So here’s a milestone chapter of sorts haha
Summary: Shouto's doubts grow
Chapter 1
Bakugou woke up incredibly cranky, even by his usual standards. Shouto was made aware of this by the colourful swearing Bakugou let out when he stubbed his toe on the foot of the bed in the morning. This was followed by a loud slam of the door as Bakugou exited the room to head to the shared toilets.
The two headed to the dormitory’s cafeteria for breakfast (a sandwich, yoghurt and a chocolate-y drink called Milo). The sort of silence they had, which would usually be calm, was now stiff, like Bakugou was looking for the next thing to metaphorically or physically blow up. Shouto didn’t quite want to stand in the way of that.
Then, as they stood at the pickup point, waiting for Preeta to pick them up, Shouto finally asked, “Is something bothering you?”
Bakugou let out a gruff “nah”.
That was a lie and Shouto could smell from a mile away. He frowned at Bakugou in deep thought. However, before he could ask another question, Preeta’s yellow car drove into the pickup stop. Hesitantly, Shouto dropped the subject when he and Bakugou got in the car and Preeta greeted them with a wide, sunny smile. "Are you ready for Day 1 of hero-ing Singaporean style?"
Shouto nodded nervously while Bakugou let out a hum that wasn't quite in assent or disagreement.
"Tough crowd," she huffed out, curling her fingers around the steering wheel. "No worries. You're gonna have a blast at my office, I assure you."
As they travelled, the supervisor gave a quick rundown of what interning under her would entail. Preeta and Co. Hero Offices was located on an entire floor in one of the many office buildings in the central business district. Preeta explained, "We mostly deal with combat situations within that area. It's a hotspot for villains that really want to wreck things big time."
As they drove into the district, Shouto spotted countless skyscrapers and interesting sculptures around. He had heard that there were many important expensive buildings in the area so property damage was apparently a big deal as well. He was slightly worried by this. If there was one thing about their fighting styles that Shouto could call a similarity, it might possibly be the destruction. He and Bakugou didn't exactly have the best track record for keeping fights in their lanes after all.
Soon, Preeta parked in the underground carpark of a fairly unremarkable office building and took a lift from the car park up to the office. As soon as the lift slid open to their destination, they were greeted with a frenzied girl rushing towards them. "Oh my god!" She side-stepped, letting them out. "New interns?" she asked in English, brushing her messy blue hair behind her ear.
"Yeah," Preeta replied. She glanced at the folders the girl was clutching as she darted into the elevator and slammed her thumb into the button. "Documents for HeroTech again?"
"Yah lah!" she whined, pulling a face of agony. "Who else?"
Preeta rolled her eyes at the closing lift doors. "That's Charlene by the way. You'll talk to her a lot in the future."
Shouto glanced back at the closed doors. He barely remembered what she looked like already. Sometimes he wished he had better facial recognition skills. Also, Shouto was about 75% certain that was her first name. This felt wildly different from what he is used to…
Bakugou nudged his back, bringing his attention back to their supervisor, who had already walked past the empty reception desk. She pressed her finger on a scanner to unlock the door that led to an open plan office.
It was chaotic with people discussing things or typing away at their computers. Some of them were in office wear, some in casual clothes, and others in their hero costumes. With a quick glance around the room, Shouto estimated a head count of about 15 other people.
"Attention!" Preeta's voice boomed across the room, capturing the attention of everyone. "We have two new interns, Bakugou Katsuki and Todoroki Shouto from UA, Japan. They'll be with us for three months." She gave them both a look and made a sweeping motion, urging them to introduce themselves.
Shouto tried his best to articulate himself in the foreign language, "Hello. My name is Todoroki Shouto. I am 17 years old. Um… My quirk is um…" He held his palms up and simultaneously created a flame and a shard of ice. "My hero name is Shouto. Nice to meet you."
Someone started clapping and the others followed suit. Shouto stiffly nodded and pursed his lips.
Next was Bakugou. "I'm Bakugou Katsuki. 18 years old. My quirk is Explosion and my hero name is DynaMight. I'll be the Number One Top Hero."
Shouto narrowed his eyes at him. Did he really need to say that?
Bakugou's eyes made contact with his for a while before he added somewhat reluctantly, "Nice to meet you."
His greeting was also met with an applause and a short hoot. Meanwhile, Preeta grinned at him and said, "Someone's got more guts than I thought! I like that!" She glanced around the room and said, "Everyone except Charlene is here."
Someone from the corner confirmed that statement.
"Ok! Good! Saves time!" she said, clapping her hands together. "Introduce yourselves as well!"
One by one, the others introduced themselves with their names, positions, and their quirks. Some added special information about themselves and cracked a few jokes that garnered some chuckles in the office. However, between trying to get used to English comprehension, the unusual names and many different information, Shouto's head was swirling. Names and faces seemed to seep out of his brain as the introductions continued.
By the time Preeta smiled down at the two new interns and suggested introducing them to the office facilities, Shouto had already forgotten everyone's names.
Still, he silently followed Preeta as she told them where the pantry, toilets, sick bay, function rooms and her private office were. Then, they walked around the already chattering employees to a steel door behind the large table. There was another fingerprint scanner that Preeta used. "We'll have to get your prints later. This stuff is just a safety precaution. Hero work can get pretty sensitive. Plus, we have expensive equipment." She swung open the door to the most spacious room yet – the training gym.
With its light blue walls, the room looked more vibrant than the rest of the office. Natural light also streamed in from its wide windows, which displayed a view of the city skyline, like a reminder of why they do their work. The equipment, while not as grand as Endeavor Hero Agency’s, was still not to be sneezed at, from its high-tech temperature-regulators to an obstacle course with elements customisable to one’s training needs. There was a large first-aid kit and defibrillator beside the benches and a fire extinguisher fixed upon each corner of the room.
"This is where you will likely begin and end your day. Warm-up in the morning, and self-training in the evening." Preeta smiled as she pointed to a door with her thumb. "The lockers are just over there. Now, get into hero mode, chop chop! I want to see what the two of you can offer on the field."
***
There was a wide grin on Preeta's face when the boys were done showcasing what they could do. "Not bad! Not bad at all!" she said, clapping her hands in appreciation. "We will be working together just fine, I think."
"How about you show us what you've got?" Bakugou said, crossing his arms. He lifted an eyebrow at her challengingly. "Would like to see how *you* fare on the field."
Of course, Bakugou would do something abrasive at some point. Truthfully, however, Shouto would say he was expecting this side of Bakugou to show much earlier. Perhaps that was a testament to what a strange mood Bakugou has been in since this morning.
Luckily, Preeta didn't seem to take any offense in his tone. She just threw her head back and laughed boisterously. "Of course!" she said. She pulled her hair back and her nimble fingers secured the dark red locks in a tight bun. With her originally mid-back length hair tied up, Shouto could see an intriguing feature of her costume.
It was already fairly interesting when she first stepped out from the locker room, changed into her hero attire. Despite her extremely colourful casual outfits, her hero costume was entirely black. She wore black boots, a black jacket, a black pair of pants, and a black undershirt. The only thing that stood out at first were the big black bracelets that resembled Uraraka's. On her back was a metal fixture with six cylindrical tubes sticking out behind her, and behind those tubes was her bare brown skin.
Shouto found this all very curious. This costume must have been designed like this to serve a purpose… but what was it?
As though she read his mind, Preeta said, "How about a little quiz for you two?" She stabbed her hair with several more bobby pins. "Take a guess what my quirk is exactly."
Bakugou made no reaction and Shouto just nodded quietly.
Taking in a deep breath, Preeta swung her arms. Then, she spread them out and leapt to the air. There was a gust of hot air that pushed Shouto and Bakugou back slightly.
They straightened back up to see Preeta shooting upwards like a rocket. Her muscled arms swung forward to grab a slab of metal that hung from above. As soon as she made contact with it, the metal bent to fit the shape of her hands, glowing red-hot. With the momentum, she swung forward and landed with a roll on a lower hanging platform. The spot on the metal that she had grabbed had the marks of her fingers and no longer looked molten. Shouto's eyes widened in intrigue and Bakugou let out a short hum.
Preeta was on her feet before their focus could return to her and, when they did, she was bounding to the other end of the suspended platform. She grabbed a wooden block from a stack at the side and drew her hand back.
The wood burst into flames and she hurled it across the gym, and accurately into a pail of water. Nodding, she leapt off the platform and grabbed onto a pole near the walls and slid down quickly with one arm.
When she was on the floor again, she flashed the two a grin. "That's the gist of what I can do. My abilities are most practical in a real-life scenario to be honest. So," she folded her hands in front of her chest, "take a guess what my quirk is."
"It's heat-related," Shouto mumbled to himself.
"That's a given in my office."
Meanwhile, Bakugou narrowed his eyes. "Is…"
Shouto's eyes followed his gaze to the coated metal pole. He frowned. There were water droplets forming upon it. He took a step closer to it and placed his hand on the pole. "It's cold." Shouto's eyes widened. "Is it like mine?"
"No, not really. I can't just create fire and ice like you."
Bakugou grinned triumphantly. "So it's some heat transfer thing."
"Impressive," Preeta commended. "What else can you tell me about my quirk then?"
"It relies on contact?" Shouto suggested.
"Yes, and...?"
Shouto frowned in thought, as did Bakugou. Bakugou hazard a guess, "Do you store the heat in your body?"
"Nope," she said. "It's all stored in these babies." She tapped the cylindrical bracelets on her wrists against each other. "Insulate against the external climate but in direct contact with my skin."
Curious, Shouto asked, "But how did you shoot through the air?"
"Rapid gas expansion in the cylindrical structures on my back," Preeta explained.
Wide-eyed, Shouto nodded. Bakugou's air of skepticism was also lifted as he looked at Preeta in silent admiration.
"You two are pretty impressive, I must say," Preeta said. "UA really is UA, huh?"
“Preetaaa!” someone interrupted with a sing-song voice. A familiar blue-haired lady popped in.
Shouto was mildly surprised to find himself recognising her as Charlene from the elevator.
Looking towards the entrance, Preeta shouted back, "Yah?"
“Your darling is here!”
Preeta turned to goo as she laughed nervously. "Oh my god," she said. "I just– Well, you two–" She buried her face in her hands for a second as she let out a groan. "Just… stay here. I'll be right back." She made a beeline for the exit and stopped in her tracks right outside the gym. Her face broke into a smile. Preeta's hands were even more animated than before as she began to talk to a rather plump lady just beyond the entrance. The lady's back was towards them but Shouto could spot her handing a small tin box to Preeta, who smiled apologetically. It looked like a bento.
Shouto found his eyes sliding towards Bakugou. “What are they saying?” he asked as he peered towards Charlene.
“Harh? How the hell would I know?”
“Aren’t you always eavesdropping others’ conversations?”
Sighing, Bakugou shot him a glare. “Don’t say that as if I hear your stupid-ass conversations on purpose.”
“Do you not?” he teased.
Bakugou shoved him. “Die, asshole,” he said, rolling his eyes. The exasperated fondness did not escape Shouto's notice.
“Hey, hey,” Charlene interrupted. “I may not understand Japanese but I know fighting when I hear it.”
“Ah,” Shouto replied in English, as he raised his hand up in refutation. “It’s okay. That’s… um… just the way he usually is.”
Bakugou jabbed Shouto’s side harshly, drawing a yelp out of him. “You’re un-fucking-believable."
“Are your interns arguing already? On the first day?” the lady Preeta was speaking to said as she spun around to look at the commotion.
Shouto froze.
The skin of her face had a familiar leathery and discoloured quality to it. Her face was of a darker shade compared to the rest of her body, which was pale. And Shouto found his fingers tracing the scar on his own face.
Those were burn scars. But unlike his, it stretched over her entire face.
“They’re not fighting, they said,” Charlene replied, pulling Shouto back from his dazed state.
“I hope not." Preeta peered back into the gym. When it didn't seem like they were ready to murder each other, she said, "Love, do you want to meet the new interns?"
The scarred woman exclaimed, “Okay!" She walked swiftly into the gym in her high heels, Preeta following close behind. “I’m Kaiqi. Preeta’s girlfriend.”
Bakugou stepped in front of Shouto, hands nonchalantly in his pockets. “I’m Bakugou Katsuki. And he is Todoroki Shouto. We’re both from UA in Japan.”
"Nice to meet the both of you. I hope you'll have an amazing time in Singapore. Even though it's an internship, I think it'd be good to have some fun," she said.
Now that she was closer, Shouto could see the burn scars better now. Such as the way her smile was a little lopsided from the odd swelling in her face. She didn't have any eyebrows or eyelashes either.
The only burn victims Shouto knew were himself and his father. However, while both of their scars were on their face, neither of them had burns as severe as hers, and not over as large an area. He couldn't help but wonder: how did she get those burn scars?
Preeta’s face twisted as though her foot had been stepped on. At that, Kaiqi rested her hand on her girlfriend’s elbow and asked, “What did he say?”
That was when Shouto realised he had spoken aloud. He blinked in shock. Bakugou spun around, staring, and mouthed, "Idiot."
It looked like pulling teeth as Preeta translated what he said into English.
Shouto felt a surge of shame as he apologised for the question.
"It's fine," Kaiqi said, waving her hand. "I get asked about it quite often anyway. It was during a scuffle with a small-time criminal I was chasing after. He overloaded my quirk, which stores heat in my hair, and just caused it to catch fire."
"You're a hero?" Shouto asked.
Laughing, she said, "Used to be but not anymore. I've essentially lost my quirk." She pulled her bangs up to reveal that it was a wig.
His eyes widened. "Oh. I-I'm sorry."
"It's alright, really. You learn to live with things, right?" she said, directing a kind smile at Shouto. "It's been more than 10 years now so I'm fine!" She flexed her arm with a grin.
The dark look on Preeta's face, however, said otherwise. But Shouto dared not press this any further.
***
The rest of the day was taxing. Between figuring out their patrol route, struggling with names, and fumbling through hero equipment, Shouto was drained by the end of the day.
It really didn't help though that the mood had seemingly soured. Preeta wasn't as bright and bubbly as she was in the morning. That wasn't to say that she was gloomy because she still tried her best to ensure the atmosphere was never too heavy. But it was clear something was weighing upon her, and it obviously had to do with whatever happened during Kaiqi's quick visit.
That, however, wasn't the most frustrating part; it was Bakugou's sour mood. He was a little grumpy in the morning, and then it got better with time, even joking around in the gym. Yet, suddenly, he was brooding again, and Shouto hadn't a clue what he should do.
Even as the day ended and Preeta sent them back to the dormitories, Shouto still couldn't figure out what had gotten him in this mood or what he should do.
Discreetly, he slid his phone out of his pocket and texted the first person he could think of for help. He was waiting for a reply when the car pulled over.
"Alright! We're here!" Preeta said, smiling back at them. "Rest up. It's been a tiring day but we've got more to do tomorrow!"
Bakugou hummed in acknowledgement as he got out of the car.
"Thank you for today," Shouto said as he slid out after Bakugou.
"No problem!" Preeta returned. "Goodbye, kids!"
The two boys waved before closing the car door and watching it drive off. When Shouto turned around, Bakugou was already walking back into the dorm compounds.
Shouto was about to follow after when he felt a vibration in his pocket. He took a look at his phone.
Izuku: good morning!!! (Or evening?)
Izuku: but oh no that doesn't sound good :(
Izuku: i honestly think u should talk to kacchan properly
Izuku: leaving kacchan with his thoughts isnt exactly the best idea
Izuku: maybe talk to him
Shouto: … I think you're right
Izuku: (。•̀ᴗ-)✧
Shouto nodded to himself. Izuku had experienced first-hand what it was like to deal with a Bakugou who has been left with his own negative thoughts for too long. So Shouto trusted his friend's advice on this topic. He was about to put his phone away when another message came in.
Izuku: its really nice that u r his boyfriend now! i think sometimes he forgets its okay to ask for help and that he doesnt need to deal with stuff alone. plus i can tell he listens to what u say
Izuku: love really changes a person hehe
Izuku: not in a bad way!!
It was as though a lead ball was launched straight at Shouto's stomach.
There was still the issue that he had to confess that he didn't reciprocate Bakugou's romantic love for him. The day had been so hectic and he had forgotten all about that.
And this conversation with Izuku drove home another problem: when he and Bakugou do break up, how would he explain to his family and Izuku that the relationship they had been overjoyed about not too long ago had just ended?
Shouto felt his lip begin to tremble. He wouldn't know how to face them to be honest. It seems like such a jerk move to have dated someone for more than half a year, only to tell them that he didn't feel any romantic love.
Wouldn't it have been much simpler if he had said that he didn't feel anything romantic for Bakugou from the start? Either they don't start dating or they enter the relationship knowing exactly what they were both in for. Not this… unstable form of a relationship.
What Bakugou needed was something firm he could lean on. Not this… mess of a person who fumbled around with his feelings like an idiot.
"Oi."
Shouto's head shot up to find red orbs staring into him.
"You coming?"
"Y-yeah," Shouto muttered, climbing the flight of stairs to the boyfriend whom he simultaneously wanted to embrace and tear himself away from.

You Asked, I Told (Part 2 of 2)
Spoilers ahoy! See Part One for more, plus an update.
Tumblr media
I imagine Steve staying in Winnie’s orbit for a little while before drawing away. The guilt would have been immense, even if she still accepted him as a surrogate son after the breakup. Also, Steve’s move into the military was a kind of amputation of his old life, including Winnie. Winnie was undoubtedly hurt by his distance. But for all of her flaws, also has a strong forgiveness reflex, as we can see with her relationship with Bucky. I think Steve’s own unresolved mother issues also complicated his relationship with her. With Sarah dead and his grief unprocessed, he probably figured it was easier to leave them both behind in the city and try to move forward.

Gah, I’m so sorry I didn’t include that. I put it in shortly after I received this message but forgot to answer the Ask also. MST stands for Military Sexual Trauma. It’s something that the VA regularly screens for and provides special services for. As people have probably heard, it’s a very common occurrence, affecting more women than men per capita but actually happening to more men by sheer volume. So, in other words, the percentages of MST in female service members is significantly higher than in men, but because there are fewer women relative to men in the military, the men’s smaller (and very, very likely under-reported) percentage ends up equaling more men who’ve experienced MST than women. It includes rape, sexual assault, as well as sexual harassment and coercion.

I’m an ass and didn’t track what chapter this was after (as well as being bad at answering Asks in a timely manner), so I cannot respond as specifically as I would like. But they really are making some significant progress. Even when shitty things are happening, you’ll probably notice that they are talking a lot more, sharing a lot more, coming back together after their rows more quickly. I’m very proud of them on a regular basis!

I think Tony is an extremely difficult character to write, you’re so correct. Alas, he’s only alluded to in BW. But I am going to attempt to write him in my next fic. It’s a daunting task, indeed, and definitely not a reflection of whether I like him or not. I think Tony is just fine. It’s just very hard not to write him as a one-dimensional quip machine.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Haha, what? Fic reading during Zoom meetings?? Never heard of her.
Tumblr media
This is an interesting question and a good observation. I think it’s a little of column A and a little of column B. I do like playing with identity, how we are different things to different people. Growing up, Bucky was James to George and Jamie to his other family and Bucky to his high school friends and Steve. I think Bucky is an aspirational name for him, in a way. This Bucky character he created in high school was his best version of himself, as far as he’s concerned.
And importantly, as you mentioned, it’s what Steve learned to call him, and Steve is also an aspirational object for Bucky. Jamie is pretty loaded, Jamie the soft boy, Jamie who gets hurt, etc. I imagine as he got older, part of him recognized that this isn’t Bucky thing is kind of a farce and probably started referring to himself publicly as Jamie eventually. Thus, it’s also become a very intimate name, because only Steve thinks of him that way, and perhaps he wants to be that person Steve imagines he is. Hence the self-reference. It’s not the tightest argument. I honestly initially started with a name more familiar to readers, and it just stuck.
Tumblr media
OMG FIVE LOVE LANGUAGES. Okay. Okay. For those not familiar with the Five Love Languages, here’s a summary of them.  (And you can even take a quiz for yourself here!) I’ve put some thought into this, and so has my beta, and our first response was that they may both be touch. This could be plausible, and it only doesn’t work so well sometimes because of the additional trauma- and defense-informed barriers that Bucky has. Bucky also has lots of ideas about gay love and affection that aren’t very compatible with this, either.
So that kind of makes me wonder if he wants touch so badly because he doesn’t allow it for himself and he’s just a human with basic human touch needs. I also think Bucky appreciates quality time as well, though he’s not great at asking for it. I think the touch thing works for Steve because even if he was in another relationship with someone else, he’d still crave touch a lot. This is a harder exercise when dealing with such massive amounts of trauma, to be sure.
Does anyone else have thoughts? I’m not married to this at all. I think a number of different arguments could be made.
Tumblr media
I’m hanging in there! I just recently moved from one state that was terrible about COVID-19 public health stuff to another state that’s hardcore about it, so that’s been a change. Moving is rough, and I moved alone with not really anyone I know super well in the area. How do meet new ppl now?? But it’s a very good thing, and I’m excited for the time when I can make some new friends in 3D, lol. Thank you for asking!
Tumblr media
(Me and my friends now)
Tumblr media
I don’t think you’re missing a whole lot, honestly. I think part of it is that up until very recently, Steve couldn’t even begin to comprehend the trauma Bucky has experienced. Like obviously he knew something was there, but the nature of it was still a mystery to him. I think it’s hard to remember sometimes that we know a lot more about Bucky in any given moment than Steve does. So we see all this stuff piled up and are like STEVE WHAT THE FUCK. But Steve doesn’t know all that and has been learning in these really brutal and incomplete chunks.
And even when Steve first found out about the sexual abuse, the implications have been slow to settle on him. I’ve been trying to write this Steve as a realistic person who can both understand things but also is trying to get his own needs met when he’s vulnerable. He also suspects it’s really bad and doesn’t want it to be, feeding a little of his own denial and defenses. For as complicated as Bucky obviously is, I think Steve is pretty complicated, too. He doesn’t think of himself this way, however, to some detriment. He wants to understand Bucky and he doesn’t want to know, because the truth is horrifying to him. I think these things compete in him and don’t always lead him to have the best behavior.
AND FINALLY -
Tumblr media
Oh, I’ve missed all of you too! These Asks are such a joy to get, even though I suck at answering them in any reasonable amount of time. Thank you for all of your consideration :)
-----
Thank you so much for the wonderful Asks and for the words of kindness and support! I look forward to sharing the rest of this story with you soon.

Of course, your sex hold out on (Y/N) didn’t last long at all; in fact it wasn’t even twenty-four hours. It was impossible to resist her charms when you got home from the game, and when she mentioned it would be one of the last times the two of you would be together in the house; all your resistance melted away. She fell asleep almost immediately afterwards; whereas you stayed awake watching her, paranoid that she would cramp or something worse. At some point you must have fallen asleep, for the next thing you knew you woke up and (Y/N) wasn’t next you. You panicked. “(Y/N)?” you yelled out. You listened for her answer, but nothing came. Jumping out of bed, you ran into the bathroom; thinking she was there. She wasn’t.
Dashing out of the bedroom, you shouted again. “(Y/N)! Babe, where are you?” Still no response came. You checked the kitchen, then the office; she was nowhere to be found. You were just coming from the garage checking to make sure her car was still here; when she opened the sliding glass door and came in from outside with the dogs. “Jesus, babe you scared the shit out of me? What the hell were you doing?”
“Relax, Ty. I was just outside playing with the dogs. We waited for you, but at eight o’clock we decided to go outside without you.” She came over and kissed you. “You must have been exhausted last night to sleep through these guys this morning.”
“I couldn’t fall asleep right away. How are you feeling?” You touched her belly and the small little life growing inside her.
“We feel amazing. Were you worrying about us last night? I told you, I felt fine.”
“I might have been a tad worried.” You answered her sheepishly.
“Ty, I think that first time was a fluke; plus I promise to tell you if happens again. Now go get your butt dressed before they start coming to pack this place up. They’re supposed to be here shortly.” The movers were coming today to get the house ready for the big move tomorrow, though (Y/N) had packed some things already. “I’m going to head over to the new house here in a bit to start labeling where I want things to go. Did you want to come?”
“Yeah, we don’t have to be at the arena until later to go over film; so, we’ll have to take two cars. We should probably take these guys to get used to the place.”
“Ok well go get ready. I’ll make you breakfast real quick.” Heading back into the bedroom, you grabbed a quick shower; then ate the breakfast (Y/N) prepared for you. By the time you were finished the movers came and (Y/N) got them started on packing things before the two of you headed to the new place.
The dogs were in the car with (Y/N), since she would be staying longer and then heading back to the old house later. You walked over and opened her door, before she could get out. “Sit tight boys, there’s something mom and I have to do first.” (Y/N) eyed you skeptically, hesitating as she got out of the vehicle. You scooped her up in your arms easily as you headed to the front door. “I told you I was going to do this once this house was ours.” She giggled, yet looped her arms around your neck.
“Ty, you don’t have to do this.”
“Yes I do. It’s tradition, plus I like carrying you.” The two of you stepped across the threshold of the empty house. “Not quite like the last time we saw it.”
“Nope, it’s better; because it’s ours.” She brought your lips down to hers in a kiss that left you breathless; though she pulled away too soon. “Ok put me down so we can go get the rest of the gang.” Setting her down you headed back out to the car to the dogs. “Ty, would you grab my stuff in the back.”
You kept the guys on their leash until they got the lay of the land. “I’m going to go take them out in the back; so they get a feel for the yard.” She nodded then started taking her pre-made labels and placed them throughout the kitchen. By the time you came back into the house, about thirty minutes later; the kitchen was littered with pink post-its. “Geez babe, this is a lot.”
“Well I talked to the designer last week, and she suggested doing these so things could be placed where we wanted; when they unpack.” She surveyed the room. “Yeah I may have gone a bit overboard.”
“Maybe a bit.” As you looked at the labels, you saw where she had the silverware drawer labeled, where the dishes should go, as well as the wine glasses. Everything had a placed marked, it was probably a smart idea. “Did you do this for every room?”
“Well just the main ones. You know our bathroom, the bedroom and a couple other things. I’ll let her do the rest. Though it feels weird telling someone where my underwear should go; so I’m bringing those and some other personal things over myself.”
“Just don’t overdo it. In fact, you should wait till I get back and I’ll bring whatever you want over.” The dogs start roaming around the house, though Cash stayed beside both you and (Y/N).
“I’m sure Cash and I can handle it.” You frowned at her. “But I guess we can wait for you too. What time is Jamie’s party tomorrow night? I’m trying to figure out where and how we can get ready for this thing in the midst of the move.”
“It starts at eight. I’ll talk to Jamie and maybe we can just all get ready over there; it would probably be the easiest.” You bent down and scratched Cash’s ears. “I gotta run, or I’ll be late. It should only be a couple hours. I’ll meet you back at the old house around two.”
“Sounds good hun.” She leaned over and kissed you soundly, before you turned to head out the door. “Come on Cash, let’s go label the closet.” You heard her saying as you shut the front door.
By the time you returned home at two-thirty, most of the house was packed up. There were boxes everywhere; and it looked like a UPS store instead of a home. The dogs were sitting by the door outside, whining to be let in; but you knew that probably wasn’t a good idea with the chaos going on inside. At least a dozen or more people where shuffling furniture here and there, some of it being carried out to the truck that was parked in your driveway. It took you a good ten minutes before you found (Y/N). “Looks like they are making good progress.” She was on the phone, yet gave you a quick kiss before she continued her conversation. You had a quick chat with the head mover who explained things were moving ahead of schedule and wanted to know if you wanted them to start moving everything out of the house. Which meant there would probably be nothing here for the two of you tonight. Not wanting to make that decision you said you needed to speak to your girlfriend first. Patiently you waited for her to get off the phone.
“Tell me again, why we are moving right now?” She breathed as she hung up the phone. “I just spent the last twenty minutes talking to the furniture store about when the new bed and stuff will arrive and at the moment, they can’t be sure.”
 “Isn’t that the designer’s job?”
“Well I haven’t been able to find her since I came back. Apparently, she went to handle another crisis with the kitchen table. I don’t even want to know about it right now. Everything’s a cluster fuck.”
“Then I suppose you don’t want me to ask if the movers should take the bedroom and put it in the truck right now.” She looked on the verge of tears, so, you grabbed her waist and pulled her close to your chest. “Babe, just breath, everything will be fine.”
“How is it going to be fine? They can’t find our new bed; they want to take our old one. Where are we going to sleep Ty? Oh, and they broke a set of the dishes.”
“We’ll buy new ones. It’s not that big a deal.” You stroked her head soothingly, hoping to calm her down. “And we’ll just have him take the bed in the morning; or we can sleep in a hotel. Whatever you want to do? Just stop stressing, it’s not good for you or the baby.” You could feel her relax a bit in your arms as you peppered her forehead with kisses. “Did you have lunch?”
She looked up at you, searching her mind for the answer to your question. “Ummm…now that I think of it no.”
“Babe, you need to eat. You’re probably just hangry right now.” She gave you her famous side eye; the one she reserved for when you’d said something she didn’t like. “Ok, here’s what we are going to do; I’m going to go talk to the movers. I’ll tell them to leave the mattress, and tv. We’ll camp out here tonight one last time. Then you and I are going to go grab something to eat.”
“What about the dogs? We can’t leave them here; they’re sort of freaking out with everyone going in and out of the house. That’s why I put them in the backyard.”
“We’ll go to the café, where we can sit outside with them. See its fine.” You tried to keep your voice nice and calm as you spoke. “As for the rest of it, we’ll deal with it as it comes. Ok?” She nodded her agreement. “Alright, you go get the dogs and I’ll speak to the movers.” Tapping her on the butt, you sent her on her way.
An hour later you were seated outside the quaint little café, when (Y/N)’s phone rang. “It’s the designer.” Silently you’d hoped she had good news, as (Y/N) was finally starting to forget about all the chaos going on.
 “Put her on speaker.”
“Mr. and Mrs. Seguin, I wanted to give you an update on how things are going.” When you’d first hired the designer she had the impression you and (Y/N) were married. The fact that (Y/N) never corrected her pleased you beyond words. “So good news, they found the new bedroom set and bed. It was on the truck ready to be delivered tomorrow morning.” Visibly, you saw (Y/N) breathe out a sigh of a relief. “I know that’s a huge relief to you. Unfortunately, I don’t have good news on the kitchen table. They actually made it the wrong height; which I’m not sure how that happened, as I double checked the measurements myself. They’ve assured me that they’ll have a new one ready within forty-eight hours.”
Hoping to prevent (Y/N) from freaking out, you answered. “Well we can live without a kitchen table that long. We can eat at the island.”
“That’s very true, Mr. Seguin. The movers should be finished getting all the furniture out of the house within the hour. I know that’s not what our original timeframe looked like; but since you had a lot of stuff already packed, it was easier than they expected. They have left the mattress and a few things per your request. They’ll be at the new house around nine in the morning if that’s good with both of you.”
“That sounds perfect. Thank you so much for everything.” (Y/N) hung up with the designer, with those final words. “Well looks like we’ll be camping out tonight.”
“It will be fun. We can pretend we’re at the lake house; sleeping under the stars.” She didn’t seemed convinced that it would be as much fun, as the picture you were trying to paint.
“I just thought our last night in this house would be different.”
“I thought you weren’t really in love with that place?” She’d been none too thrilled when you made her move into the house after the accident; knew it held bad memories for you both.
“Well, I didn’t initially want to go back and live there, after everything that happened. But, over the last few weeks, it just reminds me of all the happy times we spent there.” A ghost of smile played across her lips. “I guess I just wanted to have one last nice dinner there with you, or something along those lines. I just wasn’t thinking though; everything would be packed up anyhow. It was stupid.”
“Babe, it’s not stupid. We can still have a nice night tonight. We’ll make it special, I promise.” You weren’t exactly sure how you were going to do that but you’d do anything to make her happy. “Come on, let’s head back over to the house; grab those boxes you wanted to take over, and get them unpacked.”
“Alright.” A plan started to formulate in your head on the drive over. Finding the designer, you pulled her and the mover aside to ask them a few favors; while (Y/N) was busy answering a few other questions. You loaded the car up with the stuff (Y/N) wanted to move in personally and headed over to the new house with her. It took about an hour longer than expected, as you were trying to give extra time for your plan to be implemented. Finally around seven, you all headed back to the old house for the evening.
When you walked in the door, (Y/N) gasped. “What the…?” Your mind echoed her exact sentiments. The movers had moved your mattresses onto the living room floor; while the designer had transformed the living room into a romantic setting. There were twinkle lights strung up along the ceiling; a small table and two chairs draped in fabric, set off to the side of the room for the two of you to eat the dinner you’d ordered out. She’d also had the mattress covered in vibrant pillows and blankets; almost as if you were on an intimate camping trip in India. The designer had definitely gone all out, and you’d definitely be compensating her, for all her troubles. (Y/N)’s eyes sparkled as she surveyed the room. “Ty, did you do this?”
“Well, obviously I didn’t do it; but it was my idea.”
“Oh my god, Ty it’s perfect.” She went up on her tippy toes and kissed you. “This is like some sort of dream.”
“You said you wanted tonight to be special.” Holding her around the waist, you deepened the kiss; letting (Y/N) know how much you loved her. The doorbell rang and the two of you broke apart. “That must be dinner.” It wasn’t the same as making one last dinner in the kitchen, but it was from (Y/N)’s favorite restaurant.
“I can’t believe you did all this for me.” She was taking the food out of the containers and placing them on the plastic plates that had been left out on the table. “The chicken Madeira smells wonderful. Babe, you’re the best. I love you so much.”
“I love you too, (Y/N).” Wrapping your arms around her, you asked. “Are you happy?”
“You know if someone would’ve asked me that six or seven weeks ago; I would’ve told them, I didn’t think I’d ever be happy again. But right now, in this moment; I’ve never been happier.” She leaned back into your chest. “It’s all because of you, you know?”
You rubbed the baby, growing inside her. “I think it’s both of us babe; and well maybe this one right here too. I gotta agree with you, this is the happiest I’ve ever been. There’s only one thing that would make it better.” She looked at you questioningly. “For you to marry me, and before you start; I’m not asking. I’m just putting it in your head to think about.”
“I know Ty. We just need some more time.”
Tamping down a frustrated sigh, you said. “You’re right. We’ve got all the time in the world babe. I’m not going anywhere. Well, except to the new house; but we’re all going there. Come on let’s eat before this gets cold.” Dinner was amazing, as the two of you talked about what room to make the baby’s and when you were going to go shopping for all the furniture. Once you’d both eaten and had desserts, you looked at the beautiful woman sitting across from you. “Dance with me?”
 “What...There’s no music?”
“We don’t need any, but if you insist.” Pulling out your phone, you scrolled through the playlist, until you found a slow song; then hit play. “Shall we?” She took the hand you offered, and you swept her into your arms, and swayed to the music. Leaning down, you kissed her forehead, as the two of you twirled around the living room. You spun her around, then dipped her back in your arms; giving you a nice view of her cleavage. With the make shift bed behind you, you gently laid her on the mattress; then leaned down and kissed her.
She tasted faintly of chocolate from the dessert you’d just shared, as you swept your tongue inside. Her hands skated down your back, untucking your shirt so she could feel your skin. You pressed your hips into her and she moaned. “Mmmm...you feel so good Ty.” Nibbling down her neck, you ran your hands along the sides of her body, softly caressing her as you went. Wiggling a hand between your bodies, you cupped her sex feeling the warmth there. Your fingers stroked her through her leggings, and her nails dug into your back. She was panting, wanting more; hips rocking into the palm of your hand. “Ty...I...need...”
“Shhh, babe. I know what you need.” You slipped your fingers into her waistband, and found her clit; flicking the little nub with your thumb as you slid two fingers into her. “God, I love how wet you always are for me. Do you know what that does to me?” You pressed your hard cock into her, letting her know how much you wanted her, as you scissored your fingers inside her. She moaned louder, the sound drowning out the music playing in the background. She jerked up seeking more. “Come on baby. Cum for me.” Your thumb pressed down on her clit, as your fingers hit her g-spot and she screamed. Legs shaking, as her pussy contracted around your fingers. You pumped your fingers in and out gently as she came down from her orgasm.
She kissed you hard, as you slipped your fingers out of her; and she whimpered into your mouth. Her hands went down to your shorts, pulling them down. “I need you inside me...now!”
“Greedy, aren’t you baby?” She lifted her hips as you took off the leggings; both of you still clothed from the waist up.
Her hand wrapped around your cock. She stroked the hard length and you sucked in a breath through your teeth; her movements going faster aa you pumped into her palm. “Who’s greedy?”
“Stop teasing me babe.” Taking your hand, you nudged her legs further apart. Placing your cock at her entrance, you thrust slowly into her; she sighed. She wrapped her legs around you, pulling you deeper into her. “Damn, you feel so good (Y/N).”
She rained kisses along your jawline, as you started to pump in and out of her. The two of you building up a rhythm; your hard shaft pounding into her wet pussy. The sounds of your love making filling the room. She bucked up against you causing you to drive into her harder and faster, until you were both moaning. (Y/N) shattered first, her orgasm sweeping over her body, as she writhed from side to side. You swallowed her moans in a passionate kiss, as she quivered around your cock; and with one last thrust, you followed her into bliss.
Both of you were breathing heavily as you rolled onto your side, taking (Y/N) with you. “I think I can safely say we are leaving this house with a good memory.” She whispered, as she dropped a kiss on your lips.
“Agreed, babe. Though it’s been awhile since we were both so rushed we didn’t fully undress.” You were playing with the hem of her t-shirt, trying to get it off of her.
“Mmmm. It’s like we’re teenagers afraid to get caught.”
You laughed at her words. “Well, there’s no one here to catch us but the dogs; so, we can get rid of this now.” Slowly she sat up and removed her shirt and bra, then laid back down beside you.
“Ummm, what about you there Mr. Seguin?”
“Your wish is my command Miss (Y/LN).” You whipped the shirt off, tossing it across the room. Then loomed over her body, raining kisses all over her; making your way down to the baby, where you placed your lips reverently. “Hi little one. Are you ready to move into your new home? You’ll never get to see this one, but someday I’m going to tell you all about it. Even the part where daddy was stupid, but don’t worry I’m never going to be dumb again. And you and me and mommy and the dogs are going to be a big happy family in our house. I love you baby, be good in there.” You looked up to see (Y/N) smiling at you but one little tear sliding down her cheek. “I love you too, (Y/N) and can’t wait to start this next part of our lives together.”

It’s Vegas, Baby - Chapter II
Summary: Nesta goes out to the store and so does Cassian. Classic Nesta, she thinks he’s stalking her. Trust me it’s more interesting than it sounds lol(I hope)
Word Count: 2k
A/N: I'm back on my grind yall *sunglasses emoji*
Nicknames:
Feyby- Feyre(its supposed to be like feyre and baby put together cause shes the baby of the family)
Nestella- Nesta(its supposed to be nesta and nutella. u will learn more later;)
Tiny Ancient One- Amren(kinda self explanatory)
Mor Boobiez Plz- Mor(idk i just thought it was funny lol)
"I'm home!" Nesta calls out to Feyre. She can smell pizza and instantly strides towards the kitchen, where she finds Feyre with a large cheese pizza still in the box, half-eaten.
"Finally! I was beginning to wonder if you and Cassian finally acknowledged the sexual tension between yourselves and fucked."
"Feyre! That is not appropriate to say at all! Cassian and I are barely colleagues, we will never be anything so stop with your meddling!" Nesta replied, trying to will down a bright red blush. Feyre and her boyfriend, Rhys, had this insane idea that she and Cassian were made for each other, it didn't help that Cassian was constantly flirting with her either.
"We're back!" Mor and Amren had just gotten home from some party, with Mor holding Duchess, their shared Chinese Crested Dog. When the four of them bought a penthouse together Feyre and Mor wanted a dog, and Nesta and Amren didn't. After begging and pleading with her sister and friend to please give him away after they adopted him they finally decided to just lock her, Amren, and Duchess in a room together. They all became friends, and they found out that Duchess was, in fact, a boy. They had been calling him Duchess for too long, though, so when they called him Duke he wouldn't reply so the name just stuck. When the rest of their inner circle found out-"the rest" being Cassian, Azriel, and Rhys- they didn't stop teasing them for days. In their defense, he had a very small you-know-what and he was a very ladylike boy.
"Bring my baby boy to me! Oh I wove you so much you wittle cutie pie!" Feyre was letting Duchess lick her face, making Nesta gag. Sure she loved the dog, but seriously, he licks his butt.
"Ugh, Mor, your cousin is working me to the bone! And he won't stop trying to push me and Cassian together! He thinks he can push us together just cause we “have hella sexual tension”! Also, I was thinking about this last night, Rhys is dating Feyre and if I'm Feyres sister and he's Cassians brother, that's literally incest!"
"You know they aren't actually brothers, right? They're just best friends." Mor replied, trying not to laugh at Nesta's flustered expression. She put down Duchess and reached for a slice of pizza. Everyone knew that it was just a matter of time before Nesta and Cassian got together. Nesta and Mor were the only single people in the house, not including Duchess. And Mor was just recently dumped so she was in a big love life meddling mood. Amren was dating some guy named Varian, and Feyre... Well, let's just say that it's a miracle that she's here right now and not out getting nailed by Rhys.
"I know that, but still. They refer to themselves as brothers."
"So you're saying that if they didn't call themselves brothers you would have sex with Cassian! I knew it!"
"No, Feyre, I am not saying that! Besides, he flirts with everyone so even if I was into him- which I am not - we probably wouldn't become a thing."
"Keyword being probably." Mor says with a smirk.
"Enough of all this bickering, I'm hungry and bored so someone turn on the T.V. while I make some popcorn." Amren quickly breaks them up before Nesta tears off someone's head.
~~~~~
Cassian pulled up at the townhouse he shared with his brothers. All the lights were turned off which meant that Az was sleeping, or not home. The former was more likely because Az usually got pizza on his rest nights and there were three cold slices of meat lovers pizza left. Cassian was so hungry, he ended up eating them cold. He fought back a moan at how delicious the pizza was. He would never understand how Nesta was able to be a vegetarian. Shit. He had been such a dick to Nesta earlier. She was genuinely concerned about him and he had just pushed her away.
Cassian pulled out his phone and checked instagram. Mor had posted a photo of her and Amren with their dog, Duchess, at a party. He didn’t know if he should laugh or cry at the fact that a misgendered dog had a better social life than he did.
~~~~~
“Ugh, Feyre, Tomas and his little gang showed up at work last night.” Nesta and Feyre were chilling in the kitchen, the latter making a breakfast spread that would put Disney Channel moms to shame. Amren and Mor were nursing killer hangovers, so Feyre made sure to bang around a ton in the kitchen.
“Again? A-fucking-gain? Nuthin new, nuthin changed? Same old shit. Same old fuckin shit.” Feyre replied, forgetting that Nesta had no idea what that reference meant.
“I told them to leave and that I almost had the money to pay them back, but Tomas just slapped my ass and said ‘sEe YoU oN yOuR nExT sHiFt’ then he got up and left.”
“You do realize that we could end all of this by just telling Rhys? I know you have this whole thing about your pride and shit, but we could tell Rhys and he could pay off all your debts to him.”
“Feyre, I appreciate it, but I need to fight my own battles. I got myself into this mess, so I sure as hell can get myself out of it. Plus, I don’t like the idea of feeling like I owe my current employer money.”
“Nesta, sweetie, I love you… BUT YOU NEED TO PUT YOUR DAMN PRIDE TO THE SIDE FOR LIKE, TWO SECONDS AND ACCEPT HELP!”
“FEYRE-”
“Okay, can we yell about Nesta's issues at some time other than 6am? Also, is that bacon I smell?” Mor walked in holding her head and wearing one of Nesta's sweatshirts with some leggings.
“Yes, fattie. And it’s like, 10:30.” Feyre slapped Mor's hand away from a stack of pancakes cooling on the countertop.
“And I do not have any issues, Mor. I’m not the one that went partying with a dog last night.”
“Nesta, that is exactly the reason why you have issues. If you went partying with Duchess, maybe you would loosen up a bit. God knows you need it.”
“Brat.” Nesta threw a piece of toast at Mor's head.
“Thanks! Hey, Feyre, pass the butter.” Feyre slid the butter across the counter and cursed loudly when it just slid on the floor at Mor's feet. Facedown.
“Really, Feyre?” Nesta said in an exasperated tone.
“I’m sorry! I thought she would catch it!”
“That was our last stick of butter, you absolute dingbat!” Nesta sighed and picked up the keys to her car.
“Where are you going?” Mor asked, ever the worried friend thinking she had caused a family feud.
“To the store. We need more milk and eggs anyways. Tell me if you guys are gonna go out while I’m gone.” Nesta walked out the door of their spacious apartment and made her way over to the elevator, pressing the ground level button. She stormed over to her car, got in, and slammed the door shut. On her way to the store, she noticed that one of the local book stores was having a sale. She tried to ignore the voice in her head telling her that she had piles of unread books in her room, and all over the other communal areas of the apartment. She would just pop in after picking up the groceries. No big deal. She could restrain herself. Maybe.
~~~~
Cassian woke up and made his way down the stairs towards the kitchen at 10am.
Hey sorry don’t be mad but here’s the shopping list. I had to go out.
~Azriel
“Unbelievable.” Cassian sighed and picked up the piece of paper attached to Azriel's little note and crumpled it up. Then he uncrumpled it because he remembered he needed to see what it said. Cassian walked up to his room and threw on a sweatshirt, some slip-on vans, and grabbed his keys. He couldn’t remember why they decided to share groceries. He wanted to in the beginning, but now that he woke up without any food in the house because his brothers had eaten all of it he was thinking or re-evaluating that decision. Cassian slid into his car and made his way to the store.
~~~~
When Nesta pulled up at the store she checked her phone and saw that Feyre had sent her a text while she was driving.
Feyby*: heyyyyyyyyy nes can you pleeeeeeeeeease get me some chocolate while you’re out :)?
Nestella*: k. anything else? im walking in now by the way
Feyby: nope! thank you love you! :)
Nestella: love you too
Nesta made her way towards the dairy aisle and picked up some 2% milk, a pack of four sticks of butter, and eggs. She quickly walked over to the candy aisle and began studying all her options, she took candy selecting very seriously.
“Nes?”
~~~~
Cassian walked into the store and quickly picked up all the stuff on the list. Once he got to the last few items written he realized he wanted ice-cream for a movie night with the boys. He walked over to the dairy aisle and picked up a tub of cookies n’ cream right when Nesta Archeron stormed past him towards the candy aisle. He followed her because, well, he wanted to talk to her. But he needed to act like he wasn't stalking her cause she might yell at him.
“Nes?”
“Mother Above, Cassian! You scared the shit out of me don’t you dare do that ever again!”
Oh well.
“How did you not hear me coming? Are you really that focused on chocolate?”
“I’m selecting some chocolate for Feyre, and she is very picky so I was focused on reading what the ingredients were in each bar.” She seemed to have recovered from the scare because she just grabbed a random chocolate bar and stormed past him.
“Obviously you don’t care that much if you’re willing to just grab a random bar and walk away!” Cassian yelled at Nesta. Some other shoppers began to stare at him so he quickly said “Don’t worry, we work together. I know her, I’m not some random creep haha.” That just got him more strange looks though so he just made his way towards self-checkout and paid for the items and skirted outta there.
~~~~
Nesta was so embarrassed while walking away from Cassian. People were staring at her! Ugh, Cassian needs to learn to not yell in public places. She walked over to her car after checking out and loaded her groceries into the boot. She needed a black iced coffee stat. Nesta began the quick drive to one of the local coffee shops and once she arrived she quickly sent the girls a text letting them know where she was.
Nestella: hey bitches im getting coffee you hoes want anything
Feyby: i want a mocha frappe pleeease
Tiny Ancient One*: just get me a black americano girl
Mor Boobiez Plz*: i wanna iced coffee with whipped cream and caramel
Nestella: okay for everyone except Mor cause wtf that's not even an item on the menu
Mor Boobiez Plz: it is i swear! just ask them for it they did it when i asked!
Nestella: fine
“What can I get for you?” The guy working the register asked in a very monotone voice.
“One black iced coffee, one black americano, one mocha frappe, and one iced coffee with whipped cream and caramel sauce.”
“We don’t do that last one-” Nesta gave him a withering glare and he immediately changed his mind on what he was about to say.
“Those will be ready soon ma’am. Can I get a name for the order?”
“Nesta. Thank you.” Nesta walked over to the opposite side of the counter to wait while their coffee was being prepared.
“That was quite impressive the way you scared him into doing what you wanted him to, Sweetheart.”
“Cassian! Are you stalking me? Go away.”
“I’m not stalking you, I’m just here to get some coffee.” He smirked at her and picked up a latte that was set down beside him. He took a sip and looked Nesta up and down before smirking and saying “Hot.” he winked at her and left before she could yell at him. If he was being honest the coffee was actually the perfect temperature, but he just loved getting under Nesta Archerons skin.

I honestly wasn’t planning to summon for Gala Thor at first, since I want to focus on saving for stuff like the end of year holiday banners, but he ended up looking really strong and also I want to make Tartarus less of a miserable slog to get through with my light units in any way possible, without resorting to ‘haha dark characters go brr :)’, so here we are, lol.
Results under the cut [plus some of my thoughts about the new Tartarus fight]
I started with about 260 summons saved up [which is part of why I wanted to skip it, since I prefer to have at least 300 summons before pulling on a banner], but in just 60 summons I got:
-Ramona dupe [one day I’ll get Gala Elly . . . ]
-Dupe Liger [now at either 1UB or 2UB, I can’t remember which]
-Dupe Pazuzu and Simurgh [they’re both now MUB so that’s nice, even though I don’t use them, lol]
-Ramiel x2 [I don’t really care much about him one way or another since I have other good shadow dragons but it’s nice to have him]
-Gala Thor
At first I was a bit disappointed by Gala Thor, since he gives a base 50% strength and an additional 45% bonus strength based on your energy stacks, which seemed kinda lame compared to Mars, but it turns out that having just one energy stack gives you a bonus 25% strength, with the other stacks giving an extra 5% each, so basically you almost always have 75% strength, which is really nice, and I think at least puts him at par with Daikokuten.
Also apparently his damage mods when shapeshifted, including his dragon skill, are super high, so he works really nicely with someone like Gala Euden, who I’ve basically ended up maining against Tartarus.
It’ll be a while before the DPS sim updates, but I think Thor’s probably gonna have a pretty big impact on how strong the light roster is, so that’s neat.
Though tbh I think a lot of people are still gonna end up just using shadow units against Tartarus, even if Thor helps bridge the gap between light and shadow units a bit. Which is it’s own whole problem with the game’s balance, lol. I think if they just gave Tartarus poison immunity, that’d probably be enough to actually make everyone use light units in the fight, but I still feel like they need to give endgame bosses way higher off-element damage resistance.
I haven’t managed to get many clears of Tartarus yet, but I have a lot of mixed feelings about the fight. I’m happy to finally have a relevant piece of content to use my light units in, and I like most of the mechanics in the fight, but a lot of it doesn’t really work well in practice, and there’s some really annoying parts of the fight too. Mainly the fact that they decided to keep the enervation mechanic from Void Nidhogg, lol. I quit doing that fight as soon as the shadow Chimera came out specifically because it makes that fight such a goddamn slog, and it continues to be just as awful in Tartarus. And they somehow made it even worse by deciding to give it to you unavoidably at least once in the fight. At least in Void Nidhogg you could dodge everything and never get enervated, but you have to deal with it at least once in this fight.
Also, the whole portal mechanic is extremely cool, and I hope they experiment with more stuff like this in the future, but I feel like every time I go back to the main arena, I have like I have to immediately try and figure out which part of the fight I walked back in on, and usually I have like two seconds to react before one of the screen-wide attacks happens and kills me. It’s really disorienting, lol.
The prison mechanic in general is also kinda hard to wrap my head around, and I feel like it requires maybe a bit more team coordination than is reasonable to expect from a game like this, but really I think it’s just my punishment for never doing High Zodiark, since I think it’s one of the many parts of this fight that are really similar to that fight, and I have absolutely no experience with any of them.
Anyway, now that Tartarus is out it’s making me think back on the Agito bosses as a whole, before we move into the 2nd anniversary where we’ll probably at least get a hint at the next phase of endgame content, and in spite of the various issues I have with them, I think the Agito fights are a huge improvement over the High Dragon fights. You can really tell how Cygames [for better or worse] was trying to shake things up and figure out how to make engaging endgame fights, and for the most part I think it worked out.
The difficulty balance between all the fights [especially counting the Master fights] is kinda all of the place, like how eKai is extremely easy while eAO and eTart are kinda obnoxiously long and difficult if you do them in the intended ways, but I think that at least shows how they kept trying new things. mKai’s also apparently a lot harder than eKai [though I haven’t tried it], so they clearly learnt from the feedback they got from that.
I think Volk and Ciella are probably my favourite of the Agito fights at the moment, for different reasons. Volk feels really well-balanced for the current state of the flame roster, and has mechanics that require a degree of cooperation and coordination without being overly punishing like Tartarus kinda feels at the moment. And on the other hand, I really like Ciella’s fight because it feels like it’s just at the right level of difficulty for me to be able to reliably do by myself. At least on manual. I’ve never really managed to get auto solo to work, but I enjoy doing it manually. Either way, it’s nice to have endgame fights like this that can be comfortably soloed if you have a strong enough team, and I really like how for Ciella you have to build a really tanky, defense-oriented team in order to be able to solo it. I feel like 90% of the game basically punishes you for trying to do anything other than raw damage-dealing, so I really appreciate that Ciella is designed in a way that rewards you for making tanky team comps. It also lets Sylas be genuinely meta for something, which I’m grateful for, and it gave Templar Hope some redemption after he was initially deemed as being kinda worthless after he came out.
I also like how status effects are integrated into the fight mechanics, and [for the most part] both status resistances for each element feel like they have a purpose in their Agito fight. Compared to HDTs where it feels like every element roster is split between ‘units that are good for the fight’ and ‘units that are immediately handicapped’. This is actually one part where I think Tartarus works really well as a boss fight, since unless you can kill him before the poison portals happen, you really need a poison-res character to deal with them.
We still have three more of the Master fights to come out, but either way I really like the Agito fights, and I’m optimistic for whatever the next set of endgame content will be. Personally, I’m still hoping for them to build upon the Imperial Onslaught mode, since that feels like an almost obsolete part of the game, but that sort of wave-based content would be nice to have for endgame co-op.
Also, I still really hope that the Agito bosses end up being DL’s version of the Eternals/Evokers from GBF, where we can eventually get the ability to recruit them as playable characters by doing lots of grinding. They might just get released as gala units instead, but I’d prefer it if they were obtainable through grinding.
On the one hand they’re basically all villains, but on the other hand the recent story chapter made it pretty obvious that they’re probably all being warped and twisted by the masks Nedrick gave them, so it’d be pretty easy to explain how they could eventually be recruited. Also GBF has it’s own share of characters who probably shouldn’t be recruitable for moral reasons but they still are, lol.
Also when you fight them in-game it already looks like they have the same sorts of character model rigs as normal adventurers, and their attack animations all seem at least roughly based on regular weapon types [Volk being a lance unit, Kai Yan being an axe unit, Ciella being a bow unit, Ayaha/Otoha being dagger units, and Tartarus being a blade unit], so I feel like it wouldn’t be hard to make them playable. Ayaha/Otoha would probably be the hardest one to make work unless they get released as two separate characters, but it’s possible that they’d be a unique case where you use them both in combat at the same time, and switch between which one you’re actively controlling.
It’s probably a bit too early for any of this to happen since the Agito have basically only just gotten introduced in the main story, so it probably won’t be touched upon for the 2nd anniversary, but I still think it’ll happen eventually.
Anyway, all that aside, at the moment I’m basically just gonna keep saving my summons for either a rerun of Gala Elly/Alex, or the holiday banners. In particular I really want to do lots of summons on the New Years banner. I know we’re gonna have Gala Zena or something next month for the anniversary, but if it’s anything like last year we’ll get lots of free summons during her banner, so I’ll at least wait and see how that works out before I spend any resources chasing her.
I also don’t really care much for Nevin and Pinon so even though I didn’t get them, I’m just gonna quit on this banner while I’m ahead, lol

It took until the end of their dinner and leaving to head back to Chie's house before they were calmed down enough to discuss what had just happened. Chie was highly embarrassed, but before she could even begin to fully dig into the reasons, Yukiko had something else prepared to say.
"I'm very sorry, Chie-chan."
"Ye-what?" she said, switching gears mid-word because she was taken aback and unprepared. "For what?"
"I believe you weren't really ready for me to do what I did just now. And yes, I know you insisted that you could handle it, but… I have a feeling that Ebihara-san coming up to talk to us changed your feelings. But you didn't stop me, so I made an assumption, and now… I think… it was the wrong one."
A long sigh of relief burst from Chie. "Okay, thank you. Whew! I was gonna say that I was a little freaked out, but um, I didn't want you to feel bad. Especially 'cuz I did something so gross."
"Huh?" Head tilting adorably in confusion, almost making Chie want to sweep her into a fresh kiss, she asked, "What did you do?"
"What do you mean? I kissed that bitch!"
"Ohhh. Well, I just assumed that was part of the playacting." Though her eyes did lose a little of their light as they resumed walking.
"Yeah. I mean, it kinda was, but like… I dunno, I was trying not to moan when I came and that was the easiest way to cover my mouth. And she is cute. Even if I wish I was kissing you instead."
That made a brief smile flash across her lips. "Oh, I see."
"Sorry."
"Well… it's my fault for continuing to play with you while she was leaning so close. I could see as plainly as you that she was making a 'kiss me' face."
"A 'kiss me' face?" Yukiko recreated said expression, and Chie had already started to lean in before she shook the spell off. "D-damn, that's… that is super effective!"
The Yasogami beauty queen giggled as she slipped her arm through Chie's and pulled her up the walk to her house. "I've seen the other staff at the inn do it to get tips. Not all of them, of course. Perhaps they watch the same TV shows as Ai-san? Those Korean dramas…"
"Ugh, I can't stand those. I mean, they're good right up until they hit some scene that's just so super dramatic that I can't take it seriously anymore."
"Really? I love them; you're not wrong, they are exaggerated, but I look at it as… that's the art form. It's how they display the full spectrum of the human emotional state by shining a brighter light on them."
Chie blinked a few times, then stuttered, "W-well, yeah, that's true. Sorry."
"You don't have to be sorry. I always knew you didn't like them as much as me."
"Oh." As she fished out her keys and opened the door, she said, "Well… isn't that bad, though? Like, if we're dating…"
"So what? You and I don't have to like all the same things. I never much cared for that Super Sentai show of yours, but I don't hate it, and I like watching it with you because you just get so into it." As they stepped out of their shoes in the entryway, she asked, "Isn't that what relationships are all about? Compromise?"
"Huh, well yeah. I mean, I wanna argue, but that makes total sense. You're sure you don't mind sitting through my stuff?"
"Not if you don't mind sitting through mine," she answered with such a sweet smile that Chie felt her pulse racing. "I think that's settled. We will continue to share our shows."
"Deal," she chuckled lightly as they lingered near the bottom of the stairs. "Hey, you can go on up and start on your homework while I get a couple chores done. Won't be that long."
"You sure you don't want some help?" Yukiko asked with very genuine concern in her tone.
"No, no! I got this. Plus once you figure out the assignment you can help my dumb ass."
Pouting, she slapped her arm and hissed, "Stop that! You are not dumb. Just not an academic." And still they lingered. Yukiko slid her hands up to perch on Chie's shoulders. "You're my Prince."
What was she supposed to do besides kiss her? Whatever it was, it wasn't going to happen, because she was already leaning in to gently take her soft lips, pressing her back against the wall by the bottom step. Yukiko barely squeaked before relaxing into the contact, lips sliding over her girlfriend's as they enjoyed their sweet moment together.
"CHIE! IS THAT YOU?"
Moment over. Hastily stepping away from her friend, she called out, "YEAH, MOM! BE THERE IN A SEC!" Then she hissed, "Go on, I'll catch up!"
"Okay," she chuckled before whispering, "I'll try not to think too hard about how sexy you looked in Aiya. Squirming everywhere from my-"
"SHHH! God, you're going to drive me crazy, I gotta go talk to my mom!" But they were both grinning as they parted ways.
                                           ~ o ~
The chores didn't take too long. Her mother wanted her to clean up the kitchen, take out the trash, and to go outside and feed Muku. She rumpled the big, lovable Saint Bernard's fur after his bowl was full, smiling and doting on him for a little while. He would need a walk in an hour or two.
"Awww, your poor collar," she sighed as he licked her all over the face. "STOP! Haha! Sorry, I got you a new one but it's too small, I gotta take it back. This weekend, I promise."
Muku barked as she played with his jowls, still sadly glancing at the old, threadbare leather around his neck. Privately, she was glad she had the wrong size; it was red and she thought maybe a black collar would suit him better. Serendipitous. Then he pounced on her and she laughed and shoved him away.
"Okay, OKAY! I gotta go, but I'll be back in a few, boy. Be good!"
He barked his approval. She shook her head and rolled around with him again. Chie had always liked dogs, but there was an even more special bond she shared with him. Yukiko had loved him the minute she found him, but her parents knew a busy inn was no place for a puppy that would grow into such a large, exuberant dog. That had been how Chie met her for the first time: sobbing on the sidewalk and clinging to his neck, lamenting that she couldn't keep the creature that had wormed its way into her heart so quickly. So Chie's agreement to take in Muku had cemented their freshly-created bond — an early indicator of how close they would eventually become.
Almost like he was their child or something.
Chie quickly washed up and used the toilet before heading into her room to check on her friend. "Hey, so I was gonna grab us some chips but Mom says we shouldn't spoil our dinner, so I guess… we have to…"
"Oh, that's fine," Yukiko said with a sweet smile from where she sat on the floor in front of Chie's bed, copying down notes from the textbook open next to her. Then she noticed she had frozen just inside the door. "Um, Chie? Is something the matter?"
"What… is that…?"
After a few seconds of trying to figure out what she meant, she saw the finger pointing at her. "What is me?" But when her hand moved up to touch her chest, she breathed, "O-oh. I forgot."
Apparently, Yukiko had forgotten she was wearing Muku's would-be replacement collar. The bright red of the leather was rather flattering against her pale skin, and the shiny metal studs caught the light just right. It was a little loose around her neck but not terribly so — though she had it cinched to the tightest setting.
"How? I m-mean… how could you forget you were wearing it? Isn't it uncomfortable?"
"No, not really. But now I feel silly…" She smiled shyly as Chie closed the door and walked over to sit on the bed. "I just saw it lying on your dresser and thought I might try it on, because of how happy it made my shadow. But I completely forgot I did that when I got focused on homework."
"Well, um, it's totally cool. Just really wasn't expecting it, but I guess…" She shrugged awkwardly, hands clenching on the edge of the bed.
And then Yukiko turned slightly and looked up at her, eyes wide with curiosity and concern. It made for a very specific type of display that Chie could not ignore: fists pressing down into the rug, back arched. Almost on her hands and knees. And that striking red collar dangling around her neck while she looked at her with such a compassionate expression…
Compassionate… or loyal. Obedient.
"You guess?"
"I guess… it does kinda… look good." That was not quite what she had intended to say. Really, she had completely forgotten what she was going to say before now. Wait — now she remembered. "You're sure it's not scratchy or something? Because if you like it, hey, feel free."
Cheeks turning a little rosy, she smiled and said, "I don't mind it. Really! Does… it make you uncomfortable?"
"What? I'm not the one wearing it!" But when Yukiko raised an eyebrow, she scratched the side of her face and looked away. "W-well, like… it's weird, because… people don't normally… but you kinda make it work, a-and you look so natural sitting down there… with it on your neck…"
"Sitting down here?" Unfortunately for both of them, she figured it out before Chie herself did. "Ohhhh. Because it's a dog collar, right?"
"Huh?"
Yukiko walked in a small circle on her hands and knees, a sort of bemused smile on her lips. "Am I a pretty puppy?"
Full blush. Chie felt like someone could make okonomiyaki on her face, it was burning so hot as she gazed down at her best friend, who was literally behaving like a dog. For her. If not for seeing Other-Yukiko do the same thing, she would be laughing her ass off right now, thinking it was a mere joke. But that shadow had made it distinctly…
Sexual.
"Yeah," she breathed. When Yukiko actually waggled her hips from side to side, she reached down and caressed her hand over her hair. "Pretty girl."
"Mmm," she sighed, closing her eyes and leaning into the touch. "My Prince…" The eyes slit open and she smirked. "My Master?"
God, why did that instantly stir butterflies in her stomach? Not only that… but it made her want to further explore the dynamic between them. "Does, um… does my cute little Yukiko want a treat?" Then she muttered, "That does not sound right, even a little."
Yukiko chuckled. "You're right, Yukiko isn't a very good dog name."
"How about…" It came pretty easy to her while she was petting over her hair again. "Yuka?"
"Oh? You think I'm a gentle flower?" Belatedly, the meaning began to catch up to her and her cheeks turned rosy. "Chie…"
"You knew that, though," she hedged as her own face flushed. "Everybody in Inaba knows… especially after you've been on the news. You're the fairest in the land, and you would never hurt a fly. Japan's sweetheart."
Biting her lip to keep from giggling, she finally managed to whisper bashfully, "Stop. I'm n-not that pretty."
"God, you so are. But I know… you don't see it. Like, even before your shadow pretty solidly confirmed that. But I swear… I'm gonna spend my whole life trying to convince you."
Now tears were blossoming at the corners of Yukiko's eyes. She trembled a little, swallowed hard. Clearly her thoughts were racing, butting up against the wall of emotion trying to overtake her. Then rubbed her cheek against Chie's leg. "Master makes Yuka so happy. Yuka is hers forever."
Now her heart really was hammering in her chest, and her pulse was pounding somewhere downstairs — an area she would always associate with Yukiko for the rest of her life. Because she was the only one for her. Hers. How lucky could she get?
"Good girl, Yuka. Good girl."
"Chie? Are you… crying? Is everything-"
"All good," she cut her off, wiping at her eyes hastily. "Noooo problem here! Just, um… just all… a-anyway, it looks like you're really happy about the collar, so it's yours. All for Yuka, okay?"
"All for Yuka!" she piped up with a big grin and a little bounce. Of course, Chie could see she was a little bit bemused that she liked having her best friend as a dog, but… it wasn't all that. She also found their little impromptu roleplay to be fulfilling somehow. Both of them did.
"Okay, up, Yuka!" She obeyed, climbing into her lap. "Such a good girl — so pretty, so sweet."
Clearly a little nervous about it, Yukiko let out a quiet little bark. It didn't sound much like an actual dog but it wasn't bad for a first try. Not sure what else to do, Chie decided to kiss all over her face like she would with Muku.
"AH!" she yelped out before giggling, "Stooop, that's so much!"
"Well I have to show my doggy how much I love her," she laughed back — before her breath caught in her throat. It had been so easy to say. Was this too big a step too soon, when they had only just barely begun to realize they had such feelings for each other?
But before she could dwell on it too deeply, Yukiko was already pressing a very light kiss to her lips. "Yuka loves you too, Master. Very much."
"R-really? Are we just playing, or…?" When Yukiko shook her head, biting her bottom lip to keep from grinning too wide, Chie found she felt light-headed. "Oh. Wow, I'm- okay then. I guess that answers that question."
"Guess it does. Is that alright?"
"Absolutely. I mean… I already knew I loved you the most, so I guess… since we're together now, that means…"
"We're in love," Yukiko breathed for the two of them. Her arms tightened around Chie's body as she pressed her face into her neck, adding in a muffled voice, "I… this is crazy, and I'm shocked, but I've never been happier. Do you think this is normal?"
The Prince couldn't help laughing nervously as she pushed her hands into her best friend's back through the layers of her school uniform. "How the heck should I know? I've never been in love before! Geez, I've never even put a note in a boy's locker before!"
"Well, it probably isn't normal that I'm wearing a collar. But otherwise, it feels… nice. Letting you keep me. I belong to you forever."
"Yeah. Crazy, but yeah, I… I'm never letting you go. Bet on that."
The next kiss lasted for a long minute, hands caressing, lips entwining as their hot breath commingled in the space between their bodies. Before she knew it, Chie was undressing her as they rolled over on the sheets, hands seeming to know exactly where to go.
"You want me right now?" Yukiko asked in scarcely a whisper, pupils dilated fully as she gazed up at her best friend.
"Damn right. Do you… not want to? We could-"
"I just want to be close to you," she cut her off. "What we do isn't nearly as important."
Chie kissed along her neck, feeling her pulse and listening to her shaky breaths. That light scent that only belonged to Yukiko filled her lungs as she finally got her skirt down her legs, then began to peel her black tights off.
"Oh…"
"What?" Chie asked urgently, stopping with them bunched around her friend's knees. "Did I screw up?"
"N-no, you're fine! I was just wondering if you had... a thing… but I suppose I don't know why I thought about that."
Completely lost, she prompted, "Thing? What thing?"
"For stockings. For some reason, when you started taking them off my thought was that clearly you don't have a thing for stockings if you're getting rid of them."
Glancing at the tights, she finally connected the dots and let out a long "Ohhhhhh" as her head bobbed up and down. "R-right! Well… I've always thought you look great in tights, but I definitely never thought about it that way! Did you… want me to be into them like that?"
"NO! I mean…" Now her legs were fidgeting, so Chie continued to pull the stockings off to let her have the freedom to move. "You were into stepping on my face, and… I kind of was too… I was mostly just curious."
"Oh. Like, if I'm into feet and stuff?" She wasn't, but could definitely see how Yukiko got that impression. "Nah. But don't get me wrong, yours are cuter than Ebihara's, that's for sure."
That made her smirk. At first she couldn't figure out why, but then Yukiko muttered, "You were checking hers out, huh?"
"What?! No way! I m-mean, she really didn't leave us much choice, did she? Slamming her leg up on the table like that! She's crazy!"
"She's vain," Yukiko giggled as she ran her toes up and down her girlfriend's leg. "But thank you, for your reassurance. I wasn't trying to fish for compliments but I like it when you give them."
"No problem. Easy when I think you're the hottest girl on the planet." She picked up the playful foot and began to massage.
"Mmmhh…"
Chie felt a new flutter in the pit of her stomach. Yukiko was into this? No… it was a lot more likely she was enjoying a foot massage like a normal person. Well that was fine. Smiling in the knowledge that she could do something for her favourite person, she started digging in harder with her thumbs.
"O-oh goodness!" she gasped out, squirming and clutching at the sheets as her pale pink sole was assaulted. "Chie! W-wait!"
So she paused in her motions. "Yeah?"
"Shouldn't… I be doing this for you, Master?"
"Well… I mean, um…" Flustered by the return of that term of address, she shrugged and looked away. "I've… never seen any dog give a foot massage, so I think you're in the clear. Thanks, though."
"But isn't that an obvious benefit of having a dog with opposable thumbs?" They both laughed at that one, and Yukiko took the opportunity to crawl up into her lap. "I also assume you would rather have human-kisses than dog-kisses."
"Hell yeah, I would. C'mere, Yuka."
Another few minutes became lost to time. Eventually, they were both in their underwear and tangled up in the sheets, enjoying the closeness and warmth that provided. Paradise. Chie really wouldn't have minded if time froze in that ephemeral moment: she couldn't imagine a better one coming in the future.
Although the collar was still on. Was she really that comfortable in it? Curious, she slipped a finger in past the band of leather and gave it a gentle tug.
"Nhhh," she breathed into Chie's lips. That sounded favourable. So she tried it again a bit harder, and this time their kiss broke so she could moan out, "A-ah… Master?"
"Is my Yuka okay?" she asked cautiously. She only wanted to keep going if it wasn't a problem.
"Uh-huh. I mean, um, yes. Yuka is fine." She maneuvered two sets of legs until they were able to press their sexes up against each other, thin layers of panties notwithstanding. "Mmhh… does Master want to train me now?"
Luckily, Yukiko had tapped the hand tugging at her collar with a single finger; otherwise she wouldn't have been able to catch on. "Oh? So… you like this training?"
"Yes!" she gasped out, barely a strain in her voice from the restricted airflow. "M-makes me feel… like Master will take care of me!"
Maybe eventually, they would be practiced enough that they wouldn't have to reassure each other so often. But even with that slowing things down… this was still so much hotter than when she had been trampling Yukiko or spanking her. It felt a lot more right – which was both worrying and reassuring at the same time. Why did she like bossing her around? She knew Yukiko wanted someone to take care of her, but was that all it was for Chie? That she wanted to be her caretaker, and it got a little twisted due to petty jealousy?
"A-ah!" Yukiko gasped out a little weaker, face flushed from the effort to breathe.
"Good girl," Chie purred down at her as she rolled her hips a little harder. What she wouldn't give to suddenly sprout a thick cock with which to slam into her… or vice versa, really, but she figured being the owner meant she was supposed to have it. Maybe they could look into buying one at least. "Master's so happy you… like your training! I'm gonna train you real good!"
Hotter and hotter, their passions burned as they writhed together. Eventually, Chie awkwardly yanked down her own panties, and Yukiko took advantage of the break to drag air into her lungs and divest herself of all remaining garments, as well. Then they resumed their positions, this time with one of Yukiko's legs up over her shoulder.
"MMhhh! My Prince! Or… I mean, Master?"
Chuckling breathlessly, she told her, "It's fine, whatever! Do you… like one more than the other?"
"Well…" Laughing herself now, if a bit more shyly, she licked her lips before answering, "I like Prince more, but… Master is… it m-makes more- NNH! Makes more sense when you have me in a collar!"
"Yeah? I mean… this was your idea," she snorted as she tugged on the leather.
"Was it? I think it was yours! In the TV!"
That brought a full blush back to Chie's cheeks — though it wasn't a far leap, since she was already glowing red from the exertion. "Y-yeah? I guess… you have a point, b-but…"
"I know! You didn't really… think of me… it's okay! Just keep going!"
"R-right!"
So keep going they did. Chie made sure to exert more pressure on the collar, on Yukiko's throat as their hips ground against each other. GOD, that direct contact really made a difference! It still wasn't as incredible as using fingers or mouths, but the knowledge that her most intimate area was pressing right against that of her best friend in the whole world more than made up for the awkwardness and lessened sensation. Her heat was building so fast that she knew it wouldn't take more than another minute.
"M-Master!" Yukiko gasped out weakly. "M-my head… is spinny…"
"Oh shit!" She let go immediately. "Are you okay?! Yukiko!"
After a couple of breaths, she smiled up at Chie. "Y-yeah! Thank you. But you didn't have to stop…"
When her calf muscle bounced off Chie's shoulder, she knew what she meant and smiled as she returned to her blistering pace, grinding their bodies against one another. She still slipped a thumb under her collar to exert pressure, but it was barely anything now — just a little added interest.
"MASTER! I'm- I am close! I think! A-are you?!"
"Ohhhhh YEAH! GOD! I'm so close, Yuk- Yuka! Be a good little doggie and cum for me!"
Instantly, she could see the blush was so much brighter in Yukiko's cheeks. Either from the pet name, being called a doggie, or how vulgar the request was. Maybe all of them — maybe it didn't matter. But all she panted out that was intelligible was the word "YES!" before she was rolling her hips just as hard, meeting her partner on her level.
They both climaxed mere moments later. Chie was both elated and disturbed to feel the wetness growing between them, and couldn't even be sure if most of that was coming from herself or the pet writhing and squealing on her bed. But in the end she decided there was really nothing wrong; she just was used to feeling wet things as being "gross". This was the feeling of being with her lover, and she would cherish it.
"Ohhhhhh," Yukiko groaned as their bodies finally came to a stop and the pressure on her collar was released. "Wow… that… is it… supposed to get better… every time?"
Laughing weakly, Chie slowly moved her leg from off of her shoulder and laid it down before she flopped onto her side next to her best friend. "Maybe? I… agree though, that… was super hot!"
"Yeah," she giggled as she easily rolled to face her, eyes dancing with light and joy. "I can't believe… we can do this, and it feels that good! Without a boy! I thought it was supposed to…"
When she didn't answer right away, Chie prompted, "Supposed to?"
"Oh, sorry. I just meant, I thought boys and girls had bodies that fit together. So that was how sex would be the most pleasurable."
"Well, I guess I sorta thought the same," she admitted with a half-smile as she pet up and down Yukiko's side. And Yukiko's eyes closed in bliss, so clearly it was the right move. "But like, whatever, right? I love you and I'm glad you were into it, since I was, too. Kinda works out like that."
Yukiko nodded fervently. "I agree — very much. And I'm devoted to you, so I don't really feel any need to find out the differences."
"You sure? Like, I would totally get it if you wanna bang some guy and figure out if like, the lesbian life is really what you want."
"Very sure," she reassured her with a little peck on the cheek. "The more I get used to you being my lover, the more I know… it was always going to be this way. You and I were destined to be together."
Tears began to form at the corners of Chie's eyes. They snuck up on her, and she had already sniffled by the time she regained control — which meant it was too late. Her Yukiko was already kissing the tears away, embracing her tighter.
"It's okay, my Prince."
"I just l-love you s-so much!" she blubbered as she clung tightly to her girlfriend. She could hear a tightness in Yukiko's voice when she reassured her that everything was going to be fine, but she didn't break down; she had to be strong while the other was weak. She knew they would be taking turns like this for a long, long time.
"Ohh, it's okay! Shhh, Chie, I love you, too!" The delicate hand petting over her hair both helped and made it worse. "Yuka loves Master!"
That made the next sob turn into a chuckle. "God… we're pretty messed up!"
"No, I don't think so. Just different." She pushed her head back enough to kiss her lips, gazing up into her eyes — and revealing her own were slightly wet. "But you and I are forever. Even if we're weird, we can be weird together, okay?"
"Uh-huh," she managed to blubber, sucking in a deep, hard breath to steady her nerves. "Okay… God, we have homework to do and stuff, and I'm… I mean, we just banged, and it was incredible, and I don't know why I'm sad about being so happy?"
Yukiko giggled and kissed both her cheeks again. "I've heard that people cry when they experience extreme emotions. I know I do. Doesn't only have to be bad emotions, you know."
"Well, I think it sucks! Get me outta this mess!" They both laughed as they relaxed on the bed, more or less nude and basking in the afterglow of a good lay… and the acceptance of their connection to each other. "Ah man… Yuki-chan, I'm so happy."
"Me, too," she whispered as she curled around her body and nestled in again. "Your puppy really loves you."
"Y-you don't have to say the puppy thing, y'know. I was just messing around."
"You were not. And neither am I." As Chie tried to fight off the hot shame trying to fill her, her new pet kissed her gently and whispered, "I can be your secret puppy whenever one of us needs it. I do not mind at all, because I know you take good care of Muku, so… why wouldn't you take good care of me?"
"It's demeaning…" When Yukiko frowned hard, she sighed. "Okay, okay, we both know I'm gonna treat you great for a dog, but I should be okay treating you like a person, right? So… maybe just a sexy thing, once in a while… that's not so bad."
Her girlfriend pet up and down her stomach. "Whatever makes you comfortable. But if it would help… I'll start wearing this collar all the time to help you get used to it."
"WHAT?! N-no, don't- I mean, somebody's gonna ask, and what the hell would you tell them?!"
"That I belong to Master." When Chie paled, she giggled hard a few times before saying, "I'm kidding! I would tell them I'm trying out a new fashion statement or something. I think it looks nice."
Swallowing hard, she looked down at her nude best friend, clad only in that collar. "Damn, it looks really nice… but I don't want anybody else seeing you like that."
"You don't? Oh…" Her cheeks turning rosy, she bit her lip and looked away shyly. Adorable. "Yuka is all yours, you know. Nobody else will see me this way. But… w-well…"
"What?" she prompted.
"I'm only yours. And this collar will tell people that, even if I don't confirm it. Maybe subconsciously, it will stop guys from hitting on me, because they will equate seeing a collar with ownership. You don't own me like a slave," she cut Chie off when she saw her opening her mouth to protest. "But we can play like you're my pet-owner. And the rest of the time, think of it like an engagement ring."
Well, if Chie didn't already feel like she was about to faint, she definitely did now. "ENGAGEMENT! Y-you wanna marry me?!"
"Obviously."
"NO! No, not obvious — I'm losing my… you would really…"
"Shhhh," she soothed her as the tears came back for both of them, even if moreso for the kung fu master. "Chie, have you heard of a promise ring?" A little nod, so she continued, "Let's say that instead of an engagement ring, then. Just a promise that we are exclusive, not that we're planning to get married. Is… that less… troubling?"
At first, Chie just nodded, and earned herself a few more kisses in the process. When she found her voice again, she whispered, "Not 'troubling'. God, I'm sorry, it's just… freaking me out that I get to be this close to you! That you wanna make it a steady thing! Like, so do I, but you're a literal dream girl and you're picking me over anybody in the whole country, and I just… can't… even!"
"Just a puppy who loves her Master," she whispered into her lips. "Yuka is all for you. Forever."
She had to step up. Say something less freaky-outy. "And Master is never, ever letting you go." Then she let her urgent need to kiss her sweep over them both.
Their homework remained neglected for some time.

ive never really talked about this but jealous mochi is 100% a thing (and this got long and fic-y so i put it under a read more. chapter preview????)
so especially in the beginning when shes just getting her powers, and shes limes totally-normal-best-friend, he like half-flirts with girls a lot of the time and mochi has a kinda jealous episode
there's gonna be a short part when lime goes out with penny bun for a little bit?? (ms. penny bun, perfect cheerleader, keeps a trophy book of all the boys shes dated/used, upgrades to the newest iphone every year, who is super interested in lime for his popularity and looks, and is totally condescending to little creampuff shop daughter mochi)
and during the time lime goes on like 2 dates with her mochi gets more distant towards him because 1) that shit hurted, and 2) penny hates her so it's super uncomfortable and awkward, so she deals with it by avoiding him altogether
but then this nags at lime WAY MORE because the whole time his stupid ass is thinking ‘why the hell is she avoiding me?!’ cue throwing paper wads at her head in class, trying to catch her at the end of her ceramics club but the other members inform him that she left early, he tries texting her but she doesn't read them for a long time
pom offers mochi some suggestions, but mochi was never great at taking advice when she's in a bad mood, and excuses it as “He can do whatever, it gives me more freedom to practice magic without him bothering me” and hides in the greenhouse
and after a day of this, lime decides okay, maybe shes just feeling crowded?? or sick?? and gives her space, but after 2-3 DAYS he’s more like “Okay, fuck it.” and after whole day of barely talking to her, ends up jumping her backyard fence and pounding on the greenhouse door, demanding to be let in because “I asked your mom I KNOW you’re in there!”
and mochi, half freaking out, is rushing to hide all her witchy stuff and switch the dial on the greenhouse door because knowing lime, he might just punch the door open if she makes him wait too long. maybe not. he's not THAT violent, she thinks.
so pom jumps out the window and leaves her alone, and she opens the door to lime, standing there leaning with his arm against the door and trying not to look as irritated as he feels. she tries to play it off cool with an awkward “Oh hey! What’s up? Haven’t seen you much today hahaha-”
and he stands there with a half smirk looking down at her for a few seconds in silence before saying “Yeah, wonder why.” and the ‘casual-with-a-hint-of-irritation’ tone in his voice makes the awkward smile fade from her face. her shoulders scrunch and her hand rubs her arm as she turns and quickly walks back to the sink to fill up her watering can, pretending to be busy, and he follows her in.
“Okay, you gonna tell me why you’re mad at me?” Lime says as he leans on the table next to the sink and leans over to see her face. “I’m not mad at you.” She says while trying to sound as normal as possible, but he knows her better.
“Is it because I keep stealing all your creampuffs?”
“That’s normal at this point.”
“Technically that’s your fault for being easy to steal from.”
“I’m not easy to steal from, you have long arms!” She laughs out, and he chuckles. He kinda missed seeing her smile the last few days, but he shoots the thought out of his head. They usually stray from the current conversation, so he brings it back.
“Did I step on your foot or something?”
“??? I wouldnt be mad at you about that-?”
“Is it because I ate the last of your ice cream on wednesday-”
“I- That was you?!?”
“HAHA noo-” He coughs, “What, does it have something to do with school?”
“No.”
“Does it have something to do with the shops?”
“No.”
“Does it have something to do with Penny?”
and then she falls silent for a moment. a smirk slowly and gradually grows on his face until she finally answers with a much softer “no,” and as soon as it leaves her mouth, an “oh my god” comes out of his. “Are you jealous?!” he asks with a lot more excitement than he should. He’s never seen Mochi jealous before holy shit??? he tries to hide how much his face just lit up but its too late, she already saw it.
“No! I’m not!!” Mochi almost yells, and tries to walk away very fast, but lime grabs the intersection of her overall straps and pulls her backwards, laughing and snorting at her. “Mochiiii~” he almost sings out teasingly, and she covers her face with her hands, groaning out a “Nooooo-!” muffled by her fingers. “HAHAha-I [snorts] W- I’m- What, you don’t like her????” He asks sarcastically, laughing. he knows shes terrible. hes not dating her seriously. he was just bored.
Mochi falls back on the couch with her face still covered by her hands and groans. “NO- no I-...I mean - she doesn’t like me, and I’m not crazy about her either-” she mumbles out, Lime is smirking this whole time and slowly moves towards her. “-but i don’t wanna be that friend that tries to tell you what to do, or who you can and can’t hang out with I just [SIGH] its just....weird being around you when you’re around her and I.....-...yeah,” her hands fall to her lap, and lime is now crouching on the floor in front of her.
He gives her the most amused, teasing, flirty, shit-eating look and she looks away, mumbling out a small “sorry,” and a few moments pass before he speaks again. “.......you don’t want me to see her anymore?” he asks, his voice a lot softer and lighter than it was 5 minutes ago, and her head shoots up “Wh- no! No! I mean if you want to keep seeing her then- I don’t wanna get in the way-!” Mochi stammers out, and Lime just laughs at her and folds his arms over her thighs. her cheeks turn red. “Moch listen, I don’t actually LIKE like her, alright? She flirted a little and I was bored so we went out, like, once. That’s it.”
“I thought it was twice-?”
“Well the first one didn’t count because we just happened to both be at Mcdonalds at the same time. Plus she paid.”
“Oh god, you let her pay?” Mochi giggles out in amusement.
“Eh, it was like $8.50.”
“Oh nice, did they have the dipped cone there yet?”
“OH- yeah. We should go sometime. But anway-” Lime redirects the conversation after they strayed AGAIN. “Here’s the thing Moch, I’m not gonna go out with someone who doesn’t like you. You’re my best friend, and besides,” Lime looks up at her and smiles, “...anyone who doesn’t like you - obviously isn’t a good judge of character.......and isn’t someone I’d wanna hang out with anyway.”
He looks at her eyes and tries his best to imply that she’s one of the best, if not the best person he knows. He doesn’t even know if she gets the message. She does, but shes not sure if thats what he was trying to say, so she just quietly gulps down a little. “Okay?” he smiles, nudging her legs a bit, and she smiles. “Are you sure?” Mochi asks quietly, and he snorts. “Yeah- how about don’t ignore me next time though, huh?”
and she laughs as he lightly jabs her side, and he stands up, about to move away before adding: “Oh yeah, and since you got to veto one of my dates, this means that I am LEGALLY ALLOWED to veto one of your boyfriends in the future.” A shit-eating grin plasters over his face, but she just gives him a bit of a flat look, her face gets red and she thinks ‘can’t veto yourself, idiot.’ she cant think of any other guy he could possibly veto. she couldnt think of anyone else she would want to date, so she just laughs and agrees.
(and she thinks hes joking, but lime 100% carries that in his pocket and then uses it to veto sulluvan, and mochis response is just “[exaggerated shrug] deals a deal, sorry ¯\_(ツ)_/¯” and since its technically a contract, sulluvan can’t override it so he has to eat it on one of their deals and hes pissed)

For the writer's ask game, All Odd numbers 😁 no need to answer all if too many. Just wanna hear ur ideas on somee 😁imiss your fanficssss
omg idk if i love you or hating for asking so many questions in one goXD Aww i’m still writing, just veeery slowly... and i’ve had a few very rough weeks (mostly bc of work) so i haven’t had much energy or motivation at all - trying to get back into it so i can write the whole weekend!
1.  Do you listen to music when you write?
Sometimes. It depends! Sometimes it helps get into the mood or avoid distraction, but sometimes the music makes me think of other plot ideas which is highly distracting *sweats* Lately, i’ve listened a lot to imagine dragons while writing!
3.  Computer or pen and paper?
computer. i have some notebooks with old stuff written down, barely readable. why did i write plotlines in pink?? can’t read it at all lol
5.  How much writing do you get done on an average day?
haha.. on average it’s like, nothing. but if i actually have time to write that day, it can be anything from 200 words to 4,000. usually i don’t get to more than 4K in one day for some reason (unless i switch fics to write on lol). maybe 1,000 words is a fairly accurate average!
7.  Standalone or series?
usually standalones. i’ve only written one sequel in my life and it’s not even finished (Missing pieces)
9.  Current WIP
The sun within me, Lessons in love, For You My Sun, Sugar Star are the ones waiting for new chapters. i’ve got a couple unpublished/unfinished WIPs in my folder... we’ll see if i manage to finish them at some point but i don’t really dare to describe them in case someone would actually want to read them
11.  Books and/or authors who influenced you the most
hmm tough question. i grew up reading authors like David Eddings, Eoin Colfer, Tamora Pierce, i went down and checked my bookcase and those three are actually the ones still on display haha. of course i read books like harry potter and narnia etc. too. lots of fantasy basically - and lots and lots of horse books, but i don’t think you can tell in my writing lol. Ender’s game by Orson Scott Card is a favorite, as well as the hobbit and The name of the wind by Patrick Rothfuss. when i studied Finnish in university i had to branch out and read books i would never choose myself, and that really influenced me to broaden my perspective so to say. last book i read was probably Wayward son by Rainbow Rowell (i’m a sucker for sad gay vampires apparently). i also read a ton of murder mysteries like agatha christie when i was younger.
plus, all the manga i read - dragon ball and naruto and love hina and yaoi and god knows what
13.  Describe your writing process from idea to polished
oh dear. i usually get an idea that goes sth like “wouldn’t it be hilarious if...” and then it spirals out of control. like, my first long fanfic, Results of a shitty day, was literally me saying “you know what? i want to write a long drama fic like all those other cool authors do” and there was no plan besides at all at first.
i tend to just write a first chapter and then have a general idea of what i want to explore - a certain character growing a certain way, or a certain trope, or just the one scene that won’t go away. For The sun within me, it was literally “hey what if i wrote naruto and sasuke in the road to ninja universe” and for Lessons in love it was “man i really want a fic where Yurio is Viktor’s son and they’re fanboys of Yuuri’s skating”, and me rambling to a friend in the car about it until i was forced to sit down and write it. i definitely make up the plot as i go. every time i decide the plot in advance i end up changing it anyway (yes, this happens even for oneshots sometimes). i love planning though - so much that i constantly re-plan the stories and plan the chapter while writing it too.
15.  How do you deal with writer’s block?
badly. i’m a procrastinator. usually i switch between stories, if that doesn’t work, i try to write sth new, usually that doesn’t work and i end up reading fics until i’m convinced i can never write as well as other people can. and then i just have to take a break until my brain goes ping! and i can write again.
17.  What writing habits or rituals do you have?
i think the only habit i have is getting easily distracted. *cough*
19.  How do you keep yourself motivated?
i’m constantly writing in my head - daydreaming if you want to call it that. typing is very difficult, but i’m usually motivated by the fact that there’s nothing better than to sit down after a long day and just enjoy a really good fic about your OTP, and since people enjoy my writing i can’t just quit and rob them of this. i can’t just enjoy fandom without paying back when i actually have the possibility to do so. it usually works!! also, when i type, the story takes shape in a way it doesn’t in my head, which is actually really cool so i read my own stuff now and then just to remind me of this.
21.  Who is/are your favourite character(s) to write?
Sasuke
23.  Favourite author
hmm i don’t have just one. or do they mean fanfic author? well i wouldn’t be able to choose either way!
25.  Favourite part of writing
when i manage to type a scene the way i pictured it in my head. and when i just write without a plan and things start to make sense!
27.  Favourite line/scene
actually, every single scene in The sun within me is my favorite lol
29.  Favourite villain
does Sasuke count? no? i’ll say Baz in the Carry On series
31.  Least favourite part of writing
the first sentence of a fic or chapter. getting started is the hardest!!
33.  Have you ever killed a main character?
i wrote a drabble with naruto and sasuke in the afterlife once. i don’t think i’ve actually killed anyone???
35.  What scene/story are you least looking forward to writing?
the next chapter for Lessons in love is giving me a lot of trouble currently :(
37.  First sentence or your current WIP
This is the first sentence of chapter 16, Lessons in love: Their last full day in Hasetsu passes in a blur.
And this is the first sentence if a yoi smut fic i’ll post when i finally finish ch 16 for LiL:  The metro is always crowded at this time, and Yuuri hates it.
Don’t tell anyone i’m working on yet another smut fic for yoi.
Aaaand this is the first sentence of a sasnar fic i’m writing on when i’m too tired to actually write anything seriously:  Sasuke was surprised to find that he was not the only one to be summoned to the Hokage’s office.
I know it was an earlier question, but i actually have something like 17 WIPs in my WIP folder that are not posted in any part yet, of which most will probably never see the light of day.
39.  Weirdest character concept you’ve ever had
hmm i don’t know
41.  Any advice for new/beginning/young writers?
i have much advice. but i don’t think any of it is very original. the most important thing - there’s no such thing as failure when you’re writing fanfic. write what you want and when you want, the only way to get better is to keep writing! i just re-read an old story to see if it was worth editing and copying over onto ao3, and realized i had used the word “pinkette” to describe sakura. we all start somewhere... and if you ever look back on old fics, focus on how much you enjoyed writing the fic, not if it’s good or not!!
43.  What do you do if/when characters don’t follow the outline?
if they don’t, it’s generally because they’re right and i’m not. forcing them back into the outline only makes for awkward writing. i always go along with it to see where it goes - sometimes it ends up somewhere much better than planned, sometimes you realize you’ve made mistakes way back in the fic and now you’re stuck with the choice of changing the plot or going back to rewrite.
45.  How much world building do you do?
i actually hate world building. and describing things like scenery and places and clothes. i’ve had to really force myself to work on it. but i also make sure that i only give the absolute necessary information and then slip in the rest in bits and pieces where it fits. but since i mostly write in already set worlds, it’s usually not that necessary.
47.   Best way to procrastinate
look at fics and put them in my marked for later and then procrastinate reading them by working on WIPs that are not my published WIPs and then procrastinate those WIPs by finding new fics to read and then maybe re-read my own fics. oh, and scrolling through social media
(i don’t actually have a lot of time to procrastinate bc it’s usually work-take care of horse-shower and dinner-sleep)
49.  Which character would you most want to be friends with, if they were real?

Chapter 1 - A Whole Different Story
I haven't spoken to you all lately and I think that needs to change. A lot has been done over the past few years that may surprise you, and some might not. I of course am your host for this program; Selena Joy Ryan. As I've been for years past this part of the story begins with me and where I am now. When I finished my college career I got my teaching credential and moved back home with my then girlfriend Sam Collins. You all remember Sam, she was the girl who became my best friend on the basketball team in high school, and a whole lot of shit happened. With her boyfriend being a psycho, mine dying, which I'm not speaking of lightly by the by, Sam being gay, me discovering I have a love for girls too, moving away to college together, and yeah. After a few years being back home we both felt it, and when I say it I'm talking about the feeling of just finally settling down. Sam proposed to me and I said yes. Our engagement didn't come without it's own backlash as some people within the community didn't feel comfortble with my sexuality while being a teacher. They tried as they might to get me fired but my bitchin' lawyer of a sister Natalie helped me in suing for prejudicial termination. We won and it was a big deal for Sam and I. Eventually we married, my sister Natalie being my maid of honor, Aunt Haley, Sophia, and Kelsey acting as bridesmaids. Elizabeth was our flower girl, so it was a whole family affair. Sam decided to take my last name to hyphen along with her's, so she is now Samantha Ashley Collins-Ryan. The next logicial step was to start our family but with us being two ladies some issues arose. We thought about adopting, but in the end we decided to go the donor route. We couldn't really decide which one of us would be the one becoming pregnant at first. In the end I was the one who went through the pregnancy. Our first son Cole Harrison Ryan was born and I'd never fallen in love so quickly. He's got my dark brown hair and green eyes it's like if I were born a boy. Cole is sort of a mix between myself and Nathan when it comes to his personality. He's very observant of people and isn't super social right away until he feels comfortable with the people he's with and then he's great. Though we didn't just stop with Cole, Sam took on the next pregnancy my thinking is cause she just didn't want all of our kids looking like me haha. Then our second son Adam Justin Ryan was born, but cause we're cool moms we call him AJ sometimes. AJ reminds me of Sam's brothers with their messy dirty blonde hair, freckles, blue eyes, and goofy smile to go along with their sense of humor. He definitely gets it from his Collins family influences.  YOU THOUGHT WE WERE DONE?! Nope, we finally had our baby girl Charlotte McKayla Ryan, but we like to call her Charly. I may be a bit biased but she is absolutely the cutest child I've ever seen.  I took on that last pregnancy, and after that I can say we were done. At last our whole squad was finally complete. My brother and sister have families of their own, and I'll let them tell their story when it's their turn. But until then you're stuck with me. I still teach at my old high school, but now I've upgraded from teaching freshman to seniors with regular and AP english. My parents are still around so they help me out with the kids from time to time as do Sam's parents. Our parents both were over the moon when we told them we'd be having kids, and their love translates to them spoiling the crap out of them every chance they get. Weirdly the person I didn't expect that from my dad is the biggest culprit of this especially with Charly. I think it's cause she reminds him of me when I was a baby. Well let's get into a day in my life? -5 am- *CRY* I turned over from my face being buried into my pillow. Sam still fast asleep I let her be to go and get Charly. As soon as I opened the door to her room she stopped. She's too smart for her own good. She reached out for me and I smirked. I'm getting out worked by someone that's not even two years old. I picked her up to snuggle her a bit. "You know exactly how to get mama up don't you.." She flashed a toothy grin at me. "Mhmm yeah don't act like you're all innocent Charly girl." I laid her on the changing table. When I finished cleaning her up we went downstairs so I could fix the boys breakfast and pack lunch. Sam followed downstairs sleepily her eyes barely open. The smell of coffee immediately revived her while myself I popped open an energy drink. Don't even begin to judge me. "Morning." Sam yawned before kissing me. "And hows Charly this morning." Sam's voice got progressively higher as she proceeded into her baby voice, it's the cutest thing. I gave Sam food to give to Charly and she fed her while I got things started. My mom always set the example of eating breakfast was imperative for a good day, so I made sure when I had my own family I continued that belief. Hell look at how I turned out. I'm not attributing it all to breakfast but it had to contribute somewhere. Boom eggs, bacon, and toast. Nothing super fancy but it'll get you to lunch. Sam struggled to finish feeding Charly, so I had to laugh for a minute while watching the fight. "Charly. We are not doing this. Please just ahh for mommy." Seeing Sam make the most ridiculous faces to coax the baby into eating is one of the small joys in my life. She heard me snicker and Sam immeditely glared to me while trying to hold in her own laugh. "Need me to finish that?" I said sarcastically. "No I'm perfectly capable getting her to eat." She flipped her head back around to Charly determined to prove me wrong. I rolled my eyes then went to wake the boys. I got AJ first and he slowly crawled out of bed before going downstairs he's the easy one. Cole isn't exactly a morning person, so I proceeded with caution. I sat at the edge of his bed nudging him gently. He stirred for a minute bfore pulling the covers over himself. I nudged him again slightly firmer, and again he didn't wake up. The last attempt I took a deep breath and YANKED THE BLANKET OFF. He shot straight up hair a mess and practically falling over. "Wake up Cole!" He plumetted back onto his pillow letting out the loudest sigh. "Aha c'mon bud gotta get ready." He nodded and rubbed his eyes. "Morning sleepy." I leaned in and kissed his forehead before he gave me his own morning kiss on my cheek. He thinks he's too grown for that but HE NEVER WILL BE. "Breakfast downstairs we're leaving at 7:30 no later okay?" "Mhmm.." Cole stretched out his arms. He followed behind falling onto my back for me to carry him downstairs. He laughed as I obliged. What can I say he's my first born, my dad did it plenty for me. When we got to the kitchen, before sitting down at the table he gave Sam a morning kiss as well. "Morning mom.." He yawned again shaking his head to waken himself up more. "Morning honey. Did mom have to pull the covers off?" Cole refused to answer so Sam knew she was right. "Gotta get up when she gets there the first time bud." Sam shrugged her shoulders. I took Charly out of the high chair so she could play in the living room. I put on some PBS kids show I'd never seen but it keeps Charly company. Sam would continually remind me of time to make sure we'd be out of here on time. I heard some laughing at the table come to see Cole and AJ horsing around with each other. "Hey!" I developed my mom voice slowly over the years and they both looked at me stopping whatever it was they were doing. "Let's get cleaned up and ready quit playing around." They shoved their way up the stairs. It was really satisfying to have things like that happen so quickly. Sam just nodded smirking. When it came time to leave I kissed Sam bye before loading the kids up. "Ah! Say bye to mama first." I pointed the boys back to the direction of Sam who was waiting at the front door. They hugged her and sandwiched her face with a kiss on each side. "Bye loves have a good day!" Sam waved as we pulled out of the driveway. I dropped the boys off at school walking them to the gate while holding Charly. I knelt down so they could say their byes. "Bye guys learn some stuff." I hugged them tight. "Bye mom I l-o-v-e you." Cole smiled. "Love you mom." "L-o-v-e you too Cole. Love you too AJ. Say bye brothers." Charly waved her hand. They both waved back and it was small things like that, that make me love these guys so much. "Okay let's drop you off with grandma." Mom met me at the front door always eager to care for Charly. "Ah! There she is there's my Charly girl!" She knew exactly who my mom was now and was always eager for her embraces. Some times she'd even reach for my mom first before Sam or myself. "I'll be here at like five to get the kids. Unless Sam can get them before I can. You gonna have fun with grandma Charly?" She smiled big clinging to my mom. "We always do, and I think everyones gonna be here today so we might do big dinner if you all wanna stay for that." "What's the occasion?" I tilted my head confused slightly. "No reason just sometimes we don't get together as much. Besides you know all the kids love being together." "Hope you and dad are making a lot haha." "Don't worry we have a good helper huh Charly!" Mom looked at Charly who proceed to throw her hands up. "Okay you get going we got it from here." I hugged my mom before leaving for work. As far as works concerned I still work with my aunts Sabrina and Camryn. They make eating in the teacher's lounge more tolerable, plus sometimes they share their snacks. Along with just my school hours job of teaching English, basketball always called for me. I was also the boys coach. I'd taken over for coach K and while some of you are wondering why didn't her daughter Kayla do it? Well Kayla's off doing big WNBA things playing for the Seattle Storm. She'll drop me tips from time to time cause to be honest she's better than I am no question, so it's always good to get some advice from her. When work finally finished I blew my last whistle to end practice. "Alright good job today guys no practice tomorrow." I walked away with thank yous from the collapsed players on the hardwood floor. The days of wanting to just die after practice still lived vividly in my head as I walked by my championship banner. *RING "Hello?" I answered pinning the phone between my ear and my shoulder. "You having dinner at mom and dad's tonight?" Nathan asked. "Most likely, I'm sure Sam will appreciate a night of not having to cook or wash dishes. What about you and the girls?" "Yeah we'll be there, Natalie called me before this so it'll be full house." I smiled from ear to ear, I love being surrounded by my family. Sam called me immediately after hanging up with Nathan to just let me know she'd be heading over after work. I rang the doorbell hearing the commotion already going on inside. Elizabeth answered the door giving me a tight hug. "Hi sister!" Elizabeth's going to school not too far in San Diego but it's still a bit of a drive to get here. "Mm hi there Liz, how’s everything?" Before I knew it voices called out for me. "Aunt Sel!" Daisy ran up from behind me hugging me. I twirled her around to face me. "Well hi Daisy!" "Can we play basketball later?" I love that the legacy of basketball is continuing within the Ryan family. "We'll see what time we finish dinner sweetie. We can play if it's not too dark out later." Daisy is Nathan and Sophia's only child and shes a year younger than Cole. She ran back to hang with the boys while I saw Nathan.  "I can't wait until I can coach her." "She's getting really good. Though Soph is always trying to steer her towards dancing." Another knock came at the door. "Late as always." Nathan smirked at Natalie while she rolled her eyes. We all hugged a big sibling group hug. Natalie's son Julian came in behind her with her husband Wes who was holding their daughter Alexis. "Hey guys, and hi Lexi!" I greeted them all as we walked into the living room. We were soon summoned for dinner by mom. The tables were split into parents with the babies, and kids at a table in the other room. Every now and then one of us would check in to make sure food was actually being eaten. "So how's everything at school Liz?' I asked her while sucking up bits of spaghetti. "It's okay just still getting into the groove of the semester after being on break for so long. Anything new with the kiddies?" All of us took a minute to think if there was actually anything new to report. "Oh! Daisy is joining an AAU league soon with some of her friends. She's pretty stoked on that." Nathan said. Both my dad and I high fived just at the notion of basketball with everyone laughing. "So proud." Dad said smiling. "What about you Nat?" "Well I mean nothing from work. You'd know dad haha" Dad being Natalie's boss at the law firm. "As far as the kids go I mean Lexi's talking more huh sweets. Say yes mama." She looked over at Lexi in the high chair next to Charly. She looked back almost thinking hard about it before repeating it back to Natalie. So cute. Before I could get a chance to answer calls for mom rang from the other room. So Natalie, Sophia, and myself all went to investigate. "What is it guys?" I asked peeking my head through the doorway. "We're all done can we go out back to shoot the ball?" Cole asked. They all awaited the verdict. The moms all looked at one another practically thinking the same thing. "Alright but clear up here first. Then thank grandma and grandpa for dinner, and properly." I hate to say it but I sound more and more like my mom every day. It's such a cliche that you grow into your parents but it's true. In a line they brought their plates to the sink and washed them before giving the grandparents hugs and thank yous. Afterwards it was a dead sprint to the backyard to play. "Only for a little while guys we still gotta go home to do homework." Collective groans came in response. My mom looked proud at me as I took my seat. As soon as I took my seat it hit me. I turned to Charly who as always flashed this sheepish grin. Both Sam and I winced at the smell before laughing. "Charly! Oh my god did you just-" "Augh Charly we’re eating!" Sam got up to get her. "I'll take care of this babe. Does she still have stuff upstairs mom?" Sam asked, holding Charly a bit away from her body. Mom nodded before Sam proceeded upstairs. Lexi followed Charly's example so both Wes and Natalie looked at one another. Natalie leaned her head against Wes as if to say PLEAAASE. To no avail, Wes just smirked and shook his head. "No way it's your turn after what I dealt with this morning." Natalie let out a groan. "FINE! C'mere smelly..I mean Lexi. Haha just kidding mommys just being silly." Nathan and Sophia looked at one another giggling. "See aren't you glad we're past all that with our one?" Sophia smiled. "I still think you guys should have another one." Mom shrugged her shoulders. "Aha maybe mom we'll see. For now we're happy with just Daisy." When Sam returned with Charly I checked the clock. We let the kids play out a little more while we continued talking with everyone. When it came to be about seven we called them all inside. "We gotta get going the boys still got homework. C'mon Cole! AJ!" The two boys hustled inside. I said bye to my parents along with my siblings. "Hey say bye to everyone okay?" Cole and AJ made their rounds to everyone as I watched content at my beautifully behaved children. Well they’re beautifully behaved most of the time. We all have our moments. When we got home Charly was in the process of passing out, and I took the liberty of putting her to bed while Sam made sure homework was done for the boys. "C'mere sweet girl." She curled up to me as soon as she left the car seat. As I brought her up to her room she slowly woke back up but still laid her head over my shoulder clinging like a baby koala. "Let's change into some jammies." I undid the bazillion snaps from her regular clothes to put her into cozy fleece pajamas. Still awake I sat with her in the rocking chair in her room, and I did what never seemed to fail to put any of my children to sleep. I started singing, Slowly as her eyes closed my singing just turned to humming. Cole stood at the doorway of Charly's room just watching us. "Hey sweetie." I said softly smiling at him. "You finish all your stuff?" He nodded as he continued to lean against the door frame. "C'mere." I scooched over a little to make room on the rocker. Hesistant Cole slowly sat down with us. I put my arm around him and continued humming while running my fingers through his hair. "Can you give Charly kiss goodnight Cole?" He leaned in slowly and pecked her chubby cheek. "Aw thank you." I could feel Cole's body slowly succumbing to the rocking as well as his eyes batting to stay awake. I got up slowly and put Charly into her crib. Cole and I crept out so we could go to bed as well. "Good night cole lights out twenty minutes." He nodded slowly closing his door behind him. Sam was in AJ's room reading him to sleep. She tucked him in and we both kissed him good night. Sam and I slipped into bed pulling the covers over ourselves. I yawned slowly curling up to Sam as she put her arm over me. We kissed good night. "Love you.." I said slowly while my eyes began to close. "Love you too Sel.." Sam replied letting out a yawn of her own. Before I knew it we were both falling asleep. I looked over at the clock on my night stand and it said ten thirty.  Not exactly the times I was sleeping in my prime but hey I've got three kids. Before falling asleep completely I made sure to turn on the monitor. It's the life I always thought I'd have when I was younger, okay sure I thought I'd be married to a man..but things change! Here I am living the dream. -2 am- *CRY What was that about living the dream again?

⦁ ⦁ ⦁ MRS. KIM MASTERLIST ⦁ ⦁ ⦁
“Hello Miss Sunshine looks like we did it again,” you look up and see that Naeun is wearing yellow as well. “Great minds think alike don’t you think?”
“You okay?” Naeun pulls a chair and sits across from you. “Thinking of Junmyeon?”
“Hey, I don’t think about him 24/7 …” you scratched your head. “I’m just thinking about him now.”
“Didn’t you just see him this morning? And slept with him last ni-” you shove a chip into Naeun’s mouth. “Sh!” you laughed. You both order your dessert bowls and chit-chat about girl things such as makeup and fashion. Naeun mentions that she has been secretly designing clothes during the summer while you were away and there is a shoot tomorrow and she wants you to join her as well, she also mentions that Junmyeon and Jongin will be there tomorrow to join in the photoshoot. Naeun thinks that this will play well into Junmyeon’s public image and plus, you would get to spend more time with him.
“I don’t know Naeun, I’m not really the model type.”
“Please,” she pouted.
“Junmyeon doesn’t really like things like this either, how did you get him to do this?” she bats her eyes at you and laughs. “I might have told him that you agreed to do this so he agreed to do this.”
“Hey!” you almost choke on your drink. “You did what?”
“Please,” she begged with her hands together. I think i’ve finally found my calling as a fashion designer and could really use the assistance of my best friend, I’m also diving into men’s fashion and thats a big step from me, pleassseee.”
“Okay fine,” you bring her hands down and held her hands. “I’m proud of you, you know that right?”
“I know, and I’m proud of you too.”
“What did I do?”
“I’m proud that you and Junmyeon are back together.”
“We’re not technically back together. I don’t even know what we are.”
“You know what would be romantic?” she turns to you and holds up a dress, ”This is cute, here you go,” she turns back around and rummages through the dresses. “I think it would be romantic if you go visit him during work and bring him a home-packed meal. “I know Jaehyun really appreciates a homecooked meal during lunchtime and plus, you get to see him more.”
“I can’t do that,” she gasps and turns around, handing you another dress.
“Why not?”
“What if I run into his dad?” she gives you a face.
“What?”
“Why are you so scared of his father?”
“Because I’m not the right fit for him Naeun, I don’t own a chain of corporations or hotels and come from a well-known family, my family just owns a cozy hotel ...I think you would be a more perfect fit for him than I am. Look at you, I think you’re the perfect gal.”
“Shut up you are just as good, without all of the jazz I am nothing like you.”
“Hey! Random, but question! Do you think guys like wearing watches?”
“Yeah, why?” she smiles and narrows her eyes at you, you look her up and down and take a step back from her. “Why are you smiling like that?”
“Are you getting Junmyeon a little something-something?”
“No, silly. My dads birthday is coming up and I think a nice watch would go well with him and the snazzy style he always has going, and since you have great fashion taste and have seen my dad quite a few times I thought I’d ask if you want to hop over to the jewelry shop next door after we ring up these-”
“Okay,” she grabs the dresses from your hands and heads towards the register. “These are on me!”
“Wait, no! Naeun, I’ll pay for them my-” she turns around and pinches your cheek. “Just let me do this, I haven’t seen you all summer and you’ve been back for like 3 weeks and haven’t gone out and I want to spoil you, mkay? Cool,” and she struts to the register and hands the associate her card, turning back to look at you she gives you a cheeky smile. After you lecture her on how she needs to stop buying things for you, she just keeps insisting that it's okay and to let her do this since you are like a little sister for her.
You and Naeun walk arm in arm into the jewelry shop and begin browsing the watches on display. There were so many choices to choose from and some that would send your bank account to the roof. You settle on a leather watch with gold trim to it and hand over your card before Naeun could do anything.
“You don’t have to be so aggressive.”
“If I wasn’t aggressive you would have whipped out your card wouldn’t you?”
“Okay fine, you caught me but still,” she pulls you into a hug and jumps with you in the middle of the store.
“What?”
“Look,” she points to a ring in the display case. It was a simple elongated ring with a diamond band that you and Naeun swore that you would both get so you would both be matching, and of course, it could be differentiated because Naeun wore a size bigger than you. The jeweler reaches in and grabs the ring, causing you and Naeun to pout at each other.
“A girl can only dream,” you both whispered.
“I mean I would want her to know as soon as possible you know just in case you know. I wouldn’t want ”
“Baekhyun,” you wave your hand over as he walks into the jewelry store. Baekhyuns eyes widen and he covers up his mouth as he was talking to the phone.
“I got to go. Haha, hi,” he puts his phone in his pocket and the jeweler greets Baehyun. “Sir, your ring,” the ring that you and Naeun looked at was in a ring box in front of Baekhyun. “Aha, right right my ring, this is my ring.”
“Baekhyun, I didn’t know that you had a girlfriend.”
“Oh yeah, I, haha, its-she’s pretty shy so we keep the low on things because that’s how my girlfriend is well, I guess now my soon to be fiance.”
“I see, well … she’s a very lucky girl Baekhyun. Naeun and I, we said that when we get proposed to we will both have the same rings, it works out with us not mixing it up because we have different sized rings.”
“Baekhyun is lucky here, this ring is popular and the only size we have left is a size 8.”
“Hey, Naeun. That’s your size, I think this is a sign with Jaehyun,” you winked.
“Right, um, well I have a meeting to attend in an hour so I just came to pick up the ring before the meeting. I should probably get going now because Junmyeon would kill me if I don’t show up prepared. He’s been pretty busy today with his merger deals with international corporations and such.”
“Okay, tell him I said hi.”
“I will,” he bows and powerwalks away from you two. You and Naeun shrug, Baekhyun was always like this so it wasn’t anything new. “That ring is so beautiful though, whoever he is marrying is so lucky to wear it.”
“Yeah, she’ll be one lucky gal. The ring is beautiful. ”
“You know, now that we’re on this topic. I think he’s going to propose to me soon.”
“Shut up Naeun, you’re lying.”
“I’m not,” she holds your hands and does a little happy jump. “When I get married can you promise me one thing?”
“Anything.”
“Getting married will be very scary, promise to be by my side? I know weddings are all fun and stuff but its the next step of adulting and I’m scared.”
“Of course,” you hug her. “And to be completely honest, I think with the wayJaehyun is acting … I think you’ll get proposed to soon and plus, we’re like sisters, I will always be there for you.”
Though it’d been a few hours since you’ve seen Naeun, you’ve been texting her since the time you both parted because you had a sudden urge to go see Junmyeon even though you saw him this morning and wasn’t sure if you were just being needy because you couldn’t get the idea of his hug from this morning out of your head. Since you couldn’t get that out of your mind, here you are, standing across from his office dripping from the rain you just walked through. Thanks to your luck it began pouring in the middle of your walk there and you were drenched in rain by the time you reached the doors of his building.
“Okay,” you took a breath. “On the count of three,” you lift your hand up and ball it into a fist. One knock. Nothing. Two knocks. Nothing. Three knocks. Nothing. You sigh and your shoulders slump down. “So much for wanting to see him-” you place your hand on the door handle then turn around and make your way to the elevator. Pulling out your phone, you call Naeun to let her know of the fail that just happened to you. Saying your parting words to the cleaners, you walk out of the building and make your way back your family’s hotel. It was great that it still looked wet outside because if it didn’t look like it had just rained, you would have looked ridiculous walking in soaked clothes.
“At least it’s a beautiful night,” you round the corner onto a less populated street. “I don’t know what I was thinking, I don’t even know why I walked there.”
“Well, where are you now?”
“I just walked past the bakery shop by the corner and am on that one sketchy bit before it leads to the busier side again.”
“It was worth a try, you’re a hopeless romantic.”
“No, I’m not,”  you laughed.
“Hey, do you want me to come to drive you back?”
“I’m fine, I’m almo-ahhhhh!” a hand grabs onto your shoulder and you freeze. Before the guy was able to speak you elbow him in the stomach and twist his arm around, nailing him to the ground with your knee on his back.
“I know karate, don’t test me-”
“Damn,” you look up and Baekhyun was standing at the driver side with the door open. “When did you learn karate?”
“Uh …” your eyes divert down to the man on the ground.
“Thank you Miyeon, you don’t have to stay and take care of him tonight, I’ll take care of him since this is my fault.”
“Miss …”
“It's okay, you take a night off and I’ll take care of him,” she nods, hands you the first aid kit and makes her way out. You move the kit to the side and scoot closer to Junmyeon, taking the bandaids out you take a cotton pad and pour some hydrogen peroxide onto it. “This might sting,” you grab his arm and gently wipe the cut he sustained when he fell onto the ground.
“You know i’m okay right?” you shrug. “I’m fine I promise.”
“I know you say that but I still feel bad,” you take the bandage and place it on top of his wound. “Because of me, you’re bruised up like this.”
“Well, at least we know that you will never get kidnapped.”
“Haha, not funny,” you said as you packed everything back into the first aid box. Junmyeon’s knee touches yours and you look up, noticing that he scooted closer to you. With your eyes locked on his, your heart began pounding, and it felt like it was pounding faster than the speed of light. “Why were you out in that part of the street? You know how dangerous that area is?”
“I-um, I-I just wanted to take a walk that's all. The hotel has had an influx of customers the past few days and I wanted to take a walk since it felt nice tonight.”
“Is that why the security guard I met as I was coming out of the restroom confusingly ask me why I wasn’t in my office with a beautiful lady?”
“I …” you scratch your head and turn away from Junmyeon. “I, I um, well you know your main building or whatever you call it was along the path I was walking and …” he turns you back around and locked eyes with you again. You hiccup and immediately looked down at your hands. Why am I like this again? You scratch your arm. He lifts up your chin.
“ … or did you?”
“Okay fine I wanted to see you.” you stand up and began pacing with your hands cupped to your face. Why is my face so hot right now? It's not like you’ve never done anything with him before. “I don’t know why I did that I actually went out because I wanted to-” You spin around and find his chest in front of your face, you clear your throat and turn away from him only to have him spin you back around to face him.
“So,” a grin begins building until he full on smiles. “Why are his teeth so pretty too?” you whisper.
“What?”
“Nothing,” you shake your head.
“I wanted to see you too,” he pulls you in and the warmth of his body overtakes you and give in, wrapping your arms around his waist. He squeezes and tight little hug and pulls away. “Follow me,” he laces his hands in yours and pulls you out of the family living room and you both make your way behind the stairs to a bookshelf.
“Why are we in front of your bookshelf?” he shrugs at you. “I think there is an elevator behind this.”
“You think?” he pushes the light switch and it flips up, revealing a keypad. Junmyeon presses a few buttons and the bookshelf opens up, revealing the secret elevator. You both walk in and the door shuts, shaking a little before it began to ascend, he smiles and gives your hand a little squeeze. Once you enter the 3rd-floor Junmyeon pauses and looks both ways.
“What are you looking for?”
“My room,” he turns to the left, “I think it’s this way,” he takes you to the left wing. You pause and look up at him.
“What?”
“You don’t know where your own room is?”
“I do, this house is just so big I don’t remember where everything is all the time.”
“Hold up,” you tried holding back a laugh. “Do you even know where all the rooms are in your house are?”
“I know where the family room is and where my room is and my office, that’s all that matters isn’t it?” he said as you walked through the hallways. “Yeah, those are important but why live in such a big house if you don’t know where things are? Or, get lost.”
“I don’t know.”
“But no ones occupying the room, wouldn’t that be a waste of space?”
“I guess you could say that.”
“Do you have some kind of secret society her-ah!” you yell as you trip over the carpet. He bends down as you sit yourself up and boops your nose. “Maybe,” he winked. “Here we are,” he opens up the door to his room and you follow him in. “What are we doing here?” you turn the corner. He grabs you a towel and wraps it around your head. “Dry up,” you take down the towel and dry your hair.
“Take off your clothes, you’ll get sick if you stay in those,” he strips off his shirt and begins unbuckling his pants, you clear your throat. “I’m fine,” he chuckles and comes over with his boxers on, “You act like you’ve never seen me-”
“Junmyeon!”
“This is covering more tha-”
“Junmyeon,” you covered his mouth. “Don’t say that.”
“Acting shy aren’t we?” he pulls a cabinet open and you see women's lingerie and clothing. “You have women's clothing?”
“Yeah,” he nods and turns back around. “I do.”
“That's kind of strange, don’t you think?”
“No,” he shook his head. “Not when they’re yours.”
“What?”
“When I was packing to move back here, I forgot to give you the clothes you left at my apartment. I just never got around to doing anything with them.”
“Right,” you grab a black romper and undergarments and quickly change into them. You sit on the little couch built into his closet and observe the walk-in closet you were sitting in. “I see your style’s still pretty neutral.”
“I know,” he slips on black sweats and a plain white t-shirt. You blink at him. He looks so good. You follow him out of the closet and back into his room where you wait for him as he uses the restroom. Walking around, you notice that his room is just like the rest of the room, minimal decorations and really clean, like no one lives here and this is all brand new.
“You know, it looks like you barely live in your room.”
“I don’t,” he yells from the bathroom. “I mainly sleep on the couch in the family room or on the couch in my office.”
“You need to sleep on actual beds Junmyeon, you’re going to have a bad back when you’re older.”
“I think I’ll be fine,” he walks out with his glasses on. Oh fuck me, why does he look so hot in plain clothing. “Why are you so hot? I just want to kiss you so much ri-” you slap your hands over your mouth. Why did I say that out loud?
“Then do it,” he grins, your eyes widen and you take a step back from him.
“Or?” you said as you take a step back.
“Or I’ll do it if you’re too shy too,” your eyes move from his and travel down to his lips, you bite down on yours and hear your heart pounding out of your chest. The distance between you and Junmyeon is decreasing as much as the bed and your doomed fall onto it. It's now or never. You grab his shirt and tiptoe up for a quick peck. Well, you stand there unsure of what to do, that was anticlimactic.
“Satisfied?” he winked. You shake your head at him. Without a second thought, he pulls you on him with your legs wrapped around his waist with your forehead against his.
You wanted to know Junmyeon again, you wanted to know how it felt to have his lips on yours.
Junmyeon slowly put you on his bed, his lips gently pressed onto yours. All you could feel was the adrenaline in your veins and your heart pounding out of your chest, his hands push away hair from your face and you pulled him in closer to you. You missed this, you missed Junmyeon but of course, things like this never last.
“Junmyeon?” you manage to mutter out in between.
“Hm?” you pointed to the door.
