I had a nice pastel jelly roll and found this cute pattern at MSQC. I picked out the light teal for the pinwheel accent and a soft beige for the border and binding and did some simple straight line quilting on my domestic.
I should do this again. It was fun and fast and looks great.

WITNESS FATHER AND DAUGHTER BONDING . NOW !!!
Meet Milly and her dad, Wilson (Willy)!! They’re two yard pinwheels !!
They spend a lot of time outside, especially in the garden where they grow fruits and vegetables. What they don’t eat themselves, they sell :)
I have a bunch of lore, but I’ll save that for later haha ,, here’s a little trivia instead!! It’s not much because I just made them
Wilson is a single dad, and Milly is an only child
Wilson has chronic leg pain and uses a cane sometimes
Milly’s favorite treat is lemon ice cream
Both their blades spin when they’re happy, surprised, flustered, etc! (or if it’s really windy)
Wilson is bicurious (edit: polyamorous too !! :])

Marasmius mushrooms which sprouted after heavy rainfall.
These adorable mushrooms often resemble small parasols, with the side of the cap curving inward with the gills - the gills themselves arranged quite spatially. This gives the mushroom the shape of a small parachute, and with the stems often being thin and barely noticeable, their caps cover the garden in tiny little fairy parasols.
The specimens above were collected amongst the grass, though their small size makes them hard to spot. Looking forward for the rain's return during this heatwave to look for more mushrooms (though hopefully the flooding doesn't return).
Gills: branches found under the mushroom's cap
