It's really easy to see those videos of rich families with a million presents and start feeling bad because you only got such-and-such thing, or because you got nothing at all. What you got on Christmas doesn't dictate your worth or how 'good' your holidays were.

Aizawa uses Erasure on Danny but he just splits in two, Fenton and Phantom, like in the Identity Crisis episode. Sorry, plot vomit again

Once they're split, Aizawa's quirk works normally on both of them, but Phantom doesn't have a second form to change into. So it doesn't effect his appearance/give away his identity. And he's more ghost-like post-split. He doesn't eat, sleep, breath. (No pulse, just justice)

Queue confusion cause now everyone thinks they're supposed to be two separate people.

They think Danny was being possessed by Phantom.

I kind of think it would be fun if their powerset was more connected than it was in the show. Like: Phantom's using intangibility, so Fenton can't. And goddamnit, Phantom, that's the only power Danny registered for a quirk. He can't use anything else in front of the teachers.

Fenton is taken into protective custody by Aizawa, and ultimately enrolled in UA's hero track

With only Intangibilty registered as his quirk.

Aizawa takes Fenton in pretty quickly after the split. Phantom is considered a villain. And the pros think Danny needs protection from him. But fresh from the split, he notices a lot of things wrong with the teenager in his care. His reactions to everything seem pretty strange. Some things he should react to, don't make him upset.

So there's still a personality split.

Phantom is considered a villain

(Unfortunately, Fenton got his love of astronomy, but he knows nothing about space. Phantom's the one with all the facts and could care less. Danny didn't know he could be this annoying. In UA, after Danny admits how much he loves space. Izuku tries to bond with him about it. It doesn't go well. He thought he'd just bring it up and let Danny rant at him like he wishes people would let him do. But Izuku ends up info dumping more. Some of the facts he dumps about end up being inaccurate, cause he's a hero nerd, not a space nerd. But Danny can't explain it right to correct him. He just knows it's wrong.)

The personality split should be a little more subtle in this au than in the show. So, kinda crack taken seriously, I guess. When bnha characters finally meet both halves, it's like there's a sense of deja vu. The two are similar, but different at the same time.

Like Danny's need to protect, for example. Phantom's still the more heroic between the two of them. But both halves feel a sense of duty and responsibility.

Fenton is the one who embodies Danny's self-preservation. He gets separated from Phantom, and makes every decision he can to keep them both safe and not arrested until they can fix the disconnect caused by Aizawa's quirk.

Phantom on the other hand, has no sense (of self-preservation.) He throws himself into vigilantism without a care to the consequences he could face. And this leaves Fenton scrambling to pull some string somewhere in the background that'll get Phantom away from the heroes, or keep the heroes distracted until he can trap Phantom in the thermos.

Fenton doesn't feel the same duty to protect other people that he did before. Meaning he will pull some reckless stunts to lure heroes away, or to lure Phantom somewhere so he can trap him. And actually fix this.

So Phantom's assumed to be the villain, but Fenton is the morally ambiguous one between the two of them.

Fenton protects himself (and by extension, Phantom) while Phantom protects everyone, except himself (including Fenton. Fenton is the one person Phantom won't go out of his way to protect. He's the loophole in Phantom's obsession. Which doesn't help the misconception that he's a villain who's targeting Fenton)

Aizawa is proud of Fenton's self-preservation skills. The student who's most likely to survive and potentially retire from hero work. Or at least, that's the starting point of his view of Daniel James Fenton. He gets around to the idea that Fenton, like some students he could mention, might be pursuing hero work for the wrong reasons.

No one in UA knew what to make of the new exchange student.

On the surface level, he seemed like a perfectly average, normal kid with a lucky quirk. Bakugou fumed when he heard the new guy had a quirk that mimicked one of UA's Big 3. Intangibility.

Danny's skills with it weren't as finely polished as Mirio's...

But at the same time, Danny's intangibility didn't have the same drawbacks as Mirio's did. Whether or not that was a good thing was still up in the air. Mirio did find ways to turn his weaknesses into strengths in his time at UA. And he would make a first-class hero when he graduated.

Maybe it wasn't completely fair. But most people couldn't help but think this kid would show up and show out in ways that were just as impressive.

No one knew exactly what kind of trouble the new kid was in. But the idea that he was in some kind of trouble was obvious in how closely he was watched by the teachers.

Izuku, fresh out of the Hosu Incident, just wants to help the transfer student being hunted down by a villain. He knows he's not supposed to get involved. He's not even supposed to know how seriously this guy was in trouble. But how is he supposed to just stand aside? The guy absolutely refuses to so much as acknowledge he's being targeted. And he refuses to follow any of the safety measures their teachers put in place. He sneaks away constantly. Izuku doesn't think he's spent so much as one full night in his dorm room.

He has a sick feeling in his stomach that Fenton's rejecting any help from heroes to solve his problem alone. As a vigilante.

Just like Iida.

Fenton and Phantom still merge back into one person at the end, but before they do, Phantom will be tempted when the League shows up. Particularly when the offer to make Phantom a body, his own body (a Nomu, unbeknownst to him) is set in front of him.

This is especially tempting considering how reckless Fenton is with other people. Phantom starts getting the idea that Fenton is his dark side, and he's a better hero when they're separated. (This would contrast Aizawa, who's goal is to raise up good heroes with good self-preservation instincts. So self-preservation being a necessary skillset for young heroes would be a big theme here)

(Though, I'm kinda split on the idea of them merging back together, or saying they grow into their own people and Aizawa adopts twins. On the other hand, I like the idea of using the Phantom/Fenton split as a device to explore Danny's character, aka trauma boy. Danny has a whole host of self-esteem issues. And post-split that presents as a deep dislike of his counterpart. On both sides of the split. So, kind of a journey of self-love/learning to love the parts of himself he hates kind of thing)

Maybe Fenton even gets a little bit involved with the GIW in this au. So, they'd exist in bnha. Whether they followed Danny there or ghosts do actually exist in bnha, I'm not sure yet.

He doesn't join them. But in the same way that Phantom doesn't join the League. Danny doesn't set off the GIW's sensors unless he uses their powers. And after failing to catch Phantom for so long, he gets the idea that he needs better ghost hunting equipment.

So, his actions kind of mirror Phantom's in a way.

Phantom wants his own body to make his separation from Fenton permanent. And he's tempted with help from the League. Danny's primary goal is to find Phantom so they can merge back into one person. And he needs access to equipment the GIW has.

So I guess that would make this another "stranded in the bnha verse" kind of au. Starting to feel a little one track minded about that 😬 oops.

I like the drama of Phantom pursuing his humanity in any way but merging with his human half again. While Fenton just wants to go back to being one person.

There would probably be a scene where Danny uses cryonkineses against Endeavor in a way that leaves the man hospitalized. It's the first time Fenton does something to protect someone else. And he does it because he knows Todoroki, and knows all the trauma Todoroki has because of his father.

Phantom's never met Todoroki though. All he sees is Fenton going overboard against a pro-hero. And this would probably be the scene that cements Fenton as Phantom's darkside, in Phantom's mind. And out Fenton as someone with multiple quirks, to Aizawa and class 1-A.

If we go with the idea that Fenton and Phantom remain separated in the end, that would probably also mark the point where they start growing apart/into distinct individuals.

The whole ride is iconic. It inspired modern day horror tropes, gives goth kids a cool ride to enjoy as they pretend not to enjoy their trip with family when they actually do, has that really interesting spider story in the ballroom scene, X Atencio giving us an iconic song, story, script, and voice acting in the Lemme Outta Here ghost and the break down spiel, THE FREAKING STRETCHING ROOM, THE WALLPAPER!!!!!! Hatbox Ghost being an urban legend, with his existence being argued and questioned for years until we finally got a blurry picture confirmation and him coming back years later, ICONIC! Madame Leota and Little Leota! The hitchhiking ghosts!!! GHOST HOST!!!! The freaking conveyor belt at the end of the attraction that you step off to and if your not careful, it's easy to almost fall, accidentally giving one last scare before you leave the ride and makes you realize how clumsy you are? Iconic. "

"This is a ride that I was absolutely terrified of when I was a little kid. I actually have photographic evidence of this (ask for it if you'd like). But, my goodness, this rough start only made me love it all the more as I grew up. This is such a fun and goofy ride despite the morbid theme and occasional eerie bits! It's a duality. The ghosts have such a personality and the Ghost Host is such a charming guide (and I find the fact that he abandons you to go join the swinging wake hilarious, especially because you wander into the attic with Constance when unguided). It's just such a well-crafted ride! There's so much to see and I never get tired of it. The Doombuggy itself is an ingenious way to move people through the ride with such a distinctive design. The Ghost Host raising and lowering the lap bar for you is neat (fun fact, The Phantom in Phantom Manor is a terrible host and doesn't do this for you, probably because he's too busy planning your death. Asshole.). The effects in the ride are so cool and hold up, especially the Pepper's Ghosts effect. The rooms are distinct and eccentric. The Grim Grinning Ghosts song is absolutely delightful, and it's such a nice touch that you can distinguish the vocals of different ghosts you see in the graveyard. I should also just give a shout-out to the soundtrack for the ride as a whole, which wonderfully warps the Grim Grinning Ghosts theme to match the scene you're in. The ride also does such a good job of plunging you straight into the experience with facade of the mansion (I adore the look of the conservatory) and the queue. The tombstones are so funny and I really appreciate the interactive elements they added in the exterior section. And then you get inside the mansion, hear the Ghost Host's narration, and get into the Stretching Room. How can I describe that room other than frightfully fun? So, why Walt Disney World instead of Disneyland? I prefer experiencing the changing portraits on the ride rather than in the queue. I love the library as the setting for the busts that watch you. The music room with the ghost you can only see in shadow playing a version of Grim Grinning Ghosts is captivating. And, my goodness, the staircase room takes my breath away and I love watching the ghostly footsteps on the stairs. It's even going to have the Hatbox Ghost soon (I am not weighing in on the discourse over the potential location for him).

The dropping and rising of the elevator is such fun and I love the randomized events they added. I have to say, though, that ventriloquist dummy in the unloading room still makes me uncomfortable."

Phantom had enough of feeling sorry for herself, so she patted Mav on the back and got up.

“ Think I’m go catch up with the other pilots, see ya tomorrow.”

She said before downing her beer. Maverick just nodded and looked down.

Yeah..see ya kid”

Phantom walked over to the pool table, where she knew her fellow pilots would be.

“What do we have here? Am I seeing ghosts?”

Hangman was a friend of sorts. Phantom and him were put on many missions together the last few years, and had actually texted just the day before, about a mission they had both been called to.

“I’m the prettiest ghost you’ll ever meet” Phantom blew a kiss his way and he pretended to catch it and place it on his heart. She laughed and was bombarded by a few other pilots introducing themselves. Payback, Fanboy, Coyote and some cute little blonde named Bob. Phoenix was speaking to Rooster, So when she heard Hangman announced the arrival of her friend, she had barely turned around for a second before she was almost pushed over by a strong force. Hugging Phantom tightly, Phoenix laughed and screamed excitedly.

“I can’t believe you’re an Ace! Congratulations, girl!”

Phantom laughed and looked up to find Rooster staring at her, intently.

“Rooster.”

“Phantom.”

Phantom nodded her head and released Phoenix from the hug, trying to put some distance between her and Rooster.

Hangman cleared his throat and spoke

“Well looks it’s gonna quite mission.”

Every pilot nodded their heads and they saw more pilots coming in through the doors.

“Is that Yale?” Said Phoenix

“What the hell type of mission is this?” Phantom said quietly but just enough so everyone around her heard.

“We’re all the best of the best. Who are they gonna get to teach us?” Replies Phoenix.

Phantom slowly looks to where Maverick had been sitting, which was now empty.

“Gotta be someone good” Fanboy replies

Hangman stares at Phantom “Shit, it might even be Phantom here. Girls a legend already” he says while smirking.

Phantom smirked back at him, crossed her arms and said while using an annoyed voice “like I have time to come back here. I’m a busy woman.”

Just as Phantom has uttered those words, her phone began to buzz from her back pocket.

Looking at the caller ID, she frantically answered and excused herself from the group to talk outside.

Payback waited Phantom was out of ear shot before he whispered to the group “Damn right she’s been busy, heard Phantom had a kid right after her graduation.”

Rooster spit whatever beer was in his mouth out and it landed right on Phoenix.

“Rooster! What the hell man?”

“She had a kid? How long after graduation?” Rooster asked Payback, ignoring Phoenix.

“I don’t know, like less than a year that’s for sure. Weren’t you friends with her?”

Rooster nodded silently. “Yeah, We were friends.” Deliberately passing over the part where they were dating each other

“Yeah well one day I was in Admiral Kazansky’s office and saw a pic of Phantom holding some baby, on his desk. Kids pretty cute, not gonna lie. Wonder who the papa is” Payback finished, laughing at the end.

Hangman smirked

“Maybe it’s mine, boys. I mean you know no one can res-“

“Oh please, that kid has brown curly hair, definitely ain’t your kid, Hangman” Payback laughed

As if on queue, Phantom re-entered the bar and looked around nervously.

“Sorry guys, gotta take care of some things. I’ll see you tomorrow at training”

Phantom slipped a 10 dollar bill on the bar next to her empty beer glass and waved goodbye. She didn’t bother to wave in Rooster’s direction.

Her ignoring Rooster shouldn’t have bothered him, but it did. He had no idea she had a kid, much less right after graduation. She moved on quite quickly and didn’t even look back.

Though he knew he had made his decision, he couldn’t help but wonder what could’ve happened, had he stayed with her and not shut the door in her face.

It’s not the drawn out arguments, it’s the fact that actual back and forths are actually impossible to have. The queue is the reason we have one person. Say one thing and it results in an entire week of posts just quoting that one thing, and then it’s days until the others quoting the responses come in.

And it’s actually annoying to try and engage. The reason the posts are feeling more like everyone screaming into the abyss is bc they’re speaking to phantoms that posted 2 days ago and won’t hear them for 2 more days. I prefer the days of anons dogging each other and clapping back with each wave of submissions

Okay, im so excited, ill put it under the cut though EHEHEHE

Cam is one of those characters that in my opinion is there to be....like....deplorable. Like Erik from phantom of the opera (i actually have an AU of that in my queue for July OTL sorry its so far, pride got a big chunk of june), in the "yeah toxic absolutely mansplain manipulate manslaughter but if evil why sexy?" I think its great to love morally questionable characters and i love love lovvveee cam

Okay so backstory first, then other tidbits — long story short, imagine being so fucking cringe you get cucked by 3 generations of the same family and then end up being such a nice guy about it you turn evil. He's like "he's irredeemable. Oh wait he is redee- never mind he's actually still gross"

Cam is a changeling and a hexblood. He's super duper in kahoots with Alphonse's whole family tree — you don't tend to age that fast in the feywild, that's important to keep in mind. He was born to like really humble family in the feywild, adopted and raised by an aunt (h-hag), unseelie court (not evil, i don't like how binary some people make the seelie and unseelie court, but theyre definitely opposing sides). And he worked really hard to get his career off the ground.

Cut to when he's a young lad, like 20 in whatever the equiv of fey ages are. Kinda falls for this Seelie gladiator who he saw performing (for the royal court) and loooooved the thought of performative battle. That was the monk-barbarian Maxmillion Zeus Chiore who's Alphonse's maternal grandpa. Max is like nah dude I'm a player, accidentally knocks up a woman and has to take care of the child who he was a really good dad to and ended up being kinda mellow.

Cam's like ugh he lost his flair. I wanna be a performer though. Grinds his ass learning to do ballet dancing, opera, and stage direction (Maestro bard). He's a really solid singer and since he's a changeling, he's usually deemed to be like a double or understudy — obvs wanes on him a little bc he wants the spot light. Years pass, he spots Max's daughter, Aesta, who leaves the royal court performing gig to be part of a travelling bard theatre troupe and he's like YOOO ill join you. So he does, they're really solid together, Aesta's an actress mainly, and Cam's like......bites lip. Aesta turns him down, and no matter how hard he works to try and convince her she's just not interested.

At this point. He kinda has this "I've busted my ass for everything in my career and my life i came from dirt. You noble seelie mfs are so dismissive of my feelings bc you have everything already, give me a chance" RED FLAGS ALL OVER. Worst of all, Aesta fucks off to the material plane for a while and Cam catches wind she married a MATERIAL PLANE ELADRIN, whos not a performer, he's a samurai. At this point he blows his fucking lid and storms off to his aunt like OOOH why i oughta!!!

At this point in a fit of rage he decides to swear an oath of vengeance (he's an ancients paladin) on behalf of the seelie court. Also becomes a hexblood — so the catch is that because of this, he has a crown of eldercross and a curl on the centre of his forehead (when he's good, he's very very good, but when bad, he's horrid). And every disguise he has now has a limit as his punishment.

Timelines diverge here — in one timeline, he actually DIES (slipped on a tomato, fell off the stage and broke his neck. So cringe) and now has a revenant bullshit thing going on. The other one, he unfortunately lives and ends up being the guard of Hallow King and the Unseelie side of the Harvester's Passage (its a two way door that connects the courts at the autumn court. Duke is on the other side).

Long time passes. This 7'6" fucking idiot falls through a fairy ring, he hears through duke who heard through pin that this guy is a chiore (goes by Alphonse Alpenski) and Cam is just livid bc alphonse is kind of a freak accident as material-fey offspring is pretty much impossible — its the genealogy of plants and crossbreeding, just doesn't happen. Swears like I'm going to end this fucking bloodline — tries to flirt with him for two seconds and Alphonse is like...damn dommy king okay bites lip. but at this point cam is just so enraged he cant even think about anything but hate LMAO

All my fey are based on a type of insect or animal. Cam's is a chameleon, his armour is based on golden tortoise beetle shells.

His name is a poorly disguised pun. Cam(eron) O'Vladjcik - Camouflage

His main stage person is a tiefling named Martinus (discoverer of the chameleon plant) Dolos (greek god of deception) who has a kinda matador outfit, and Seamus, a satyr.

last song you listened to: well, when I was tagged I believe the last song I’d listened to was It Ends Tonight by All American Rejects, but earlier I was listening to Qveen Herby and ended on Pink Cadillac.

last show you watched: I think the last new-to-me show I watched was Midnight Mass on Netflix, which is fucking phenomenal; do watch it if you haven’t seen it. I bawled like a baby at the end. Erin, my beloved... 🥺 I’m gonna add listened to too, because I listen to podcasts far more often than I watch any movies or shows, and since Is We Dumb just ended, I got into Can You Don’t? and the first episode was really good! I’m excited to hear what they do with it. No Accounting For Taste with Kyle Kinane and Shane Torres is also very good. (I’m a comedy junkie for the most part, if you couldn’t tell).

currently watching/listening to: always Qveen Herby. I started listening to her ironically but she’s actually everything and I love her so much. But right now I’m just bumpin’ to Wild Party’s Phantom Pop album, ‘cause I was in the mood for it. As far as watching, I have Stranger Things in my queue because I haven’t got to it yet o__o and First Bite because it looks really really good—praying it doesn’t disappoint my gay vampire-loving heart.

currently reading: Between books right now but I just read The Seven or Eight Deaths of Stella Fortuna, which I’ve been recommending to literally everyone because it’s just. It’s perfect, it’s everything. (Aro/Ace Protagonist if that sweetens the pot for you!) I will say though, if you look into it and intend on reading it, it’s very trigger heavy as there are very explicit descriptions of SA multiple times throughout the book. I had to take breaks from it a couple times as I was reading, but it was so worth the read. I tried to start Frankenstein because I’ve never read it before, but it’s a bit tough to focus on when I usually read because it requires more concentration, being from an earlier time and having more flowery language that’s easier to get lost in. So, I think when I can get back out to the bookstore I’m gonna pick up The Sirens of Titan and reread that, Kurt Vonnegut has never disappointed me, I always feel so refreshed after reading a Vonnegut novel, but I didn’t really comprehend TSOT when I read it in high school.

elden ring covenant headcanons/guesses on how they could be ->

Carian family (Rykard, Renalla, Ranni) area-based invasions/”blue phantom” covenant. No idea what rewards. Can invade solo players w/in these areas unless the host wears a ring/talisman.

Godskin apostles receive buff-focused rewards for killing either players that have defeated demigods or defeating them yourself (co-op + own world) elden beast (or defeating a host that killed it) gives a secret lore item and a weapon. Could also just be an area defence covenant.

Recusants receive multiple rare crafting materials for every phantom killed; can get solo invaded by blue phantoms and reds (same rewards for killing these).

Mohg’s Knights can get solo-invaded with a higher placement w/in the online queue as well as invade with a larger range. Can invade solo-players with an item gained through winning invasions (non-droppable item). Cannot summon friendly phantoms that aren’t from own covenant in the open world. Can re-enter covenant after killing Mohg through Varré.

Three fingers group are pretty much purple phantoms that can turn off/on who they damage w/ items that do not play any animation + can enter fog gates. Hosts receive the same amount of runes as if they solo’d the boss if they only summon this kind of phantom.

Yura’s hunter covenant actually hunts reds in their own worlds instead of being gank fodder. Less rewards for this covenant bc they aren’t doing it for items lore-wise, it’s to assassinate invaders. CAN be summoned for hosts while they’re being invaded but they deal 25% less poise damage if the host already has a teamate, and every blue phantom summoned makes their overall damage worse as well as a larger estus refill and stat buff for the invader (depends on the red’s covenant) - gives incentive to the host to actually kill invaders and not just use other players as meat shields. Replaces blue cipher ring so people dont just use that, BUT they receive more for killing reds than they do now + they get extra Yura and Shabriri dialogue.

Sellian assassins that can invade solo players and drop items that indicate where the nearest spell is + killing 10 drops a starlight shard (rewards only go to solo players). Sends the invasion notice 1 minute after invading, or 3 with a talisman equipped (if removed after the first minute the notice will go through). Rewards are a lost ash of war per 3 kills + 1 starlight shard per 15.

#radahn is renallas son but it wouldnt work too well functionally (no reason to co-op w/in redmane castle) #all rewards in addition to the runes you get normally #not sure if reds should get invaded by their own covenants bc itd make sense lore-wise. both are killdie clubs #ive had my fun for now i cant think of any other possible covenants. i rlly enjoyed it LOL

Regrettably, I am About to Cause Trouble, by Amie McNee - Caught my attention for the title alone. Tagged "historical fiction" and "romance". Per the summary, the book is about a woman in the 1500s who has a birthmark that her husband decides is the sign of a witch, and has their marriage annulled, and she goes and makes a home for herself among the town witches, and describes itself as "a tale about being ostracised, and finding our power and family in unusual places."

Rules of Redemption, by T.A. White - I actually was caught by the newest release in the series, Trials of Conviction, but since I haven't read any of them, I'm marking the first book in the series. This is a sci-fi salvager story, which is basically my catnip, about a woman who salvages from alien ships and holds the key to peace between alien races. Is it tropey? Probably! But it looks interesting. Also the series is called "The Firebird Chronicles" and I will admit to always being there for pheonixes.

The Hells of Notre Dame, by R. L. Davennor - this is, apparently, a sapphic retelling of "The Hunchback of Notre Dame", where, and I quote, "Hunchback collides with The Phantom of the Opera in the streets of gothic Paris". This doesn't actually look like my cup of tea, but I love the concept, and I'm always here for more explicit f/f books.

The Carpet Merchant of Konstantiniyya, by Reimena Yee - I think the opening paragraph of the blurb for this one really says all that it needs to: "Set in seventeenth-century Istanbul, The Carpet Merchant of Konstantiniyya, Vol I is a beautifully drawn meditation on love, home, faith and loss. It tells the story of Zeynel, an ordinary man surrounded by the extraordinary – his life, his death, and the aftermath of his transformation into a vampire." Also, the cover art is fantastic:

Empire of the Feast, by Bendi Barrett - literally all the blurb on this says is "A unrelenting story of galactic empire charged with erotic queer horrors." Which, honestly, is enough to make me interested all on its own, so props to them, I guess? This one actually ended up on my holds list

Exodus 20:3, by Freydis Moon - speaking of queer monstrosity, this book bills itself as "Religious eroticism and queer emancipation meet in a claustrophobic monster-romance about divinity, sexuality, and freedom…" and seems to be a story about a man falling in love with an angel or nephilm, or something similar, while refurbishing an old church in Mexico. Probably not something I want to read, but an interesting premise.

Swarm, by Jennifer Lyle - tagged as YA, my initial impression of this book is it's Hitchcock's The Birds, except with... giant butterflies? An alien butterfly invasion? The cover art has butterflies with giant teeth, so...🤷‍♀️

I am a fan of Zelda !!! I only played BOTW and TOTK so I don’t know if I can call myself a fan but I really enjoyed both ! I actually didn’t finished TOTK because I waited for my nephew to comeback from vacation so he can watch me beating Ganondorf (I also waited because I just don’t want to finish the game 🥸).

For age of calamity, I really enjoyed watching the cinematic hehehe. I actually don’t know very much about Koei game but I’ll look more into it later !

I can’t wait to see Zelda reference in one of the next fic !!

i totally get what you mean! i am also just relatively new in the sense that i only played AoC, BOTW, and TOTK, but that still makes us fans, i think! as long as we have experienced the content and feel positively towards it, that definitely makes us fans, regardless of what era we came into the 'fandom' during (i think that applies for all things). has your nephew not yet come back from vacation? i've also only finished the four villages again, but i'm now wasting time collecting bubbul gems and avoiding ganondorf because I DON'T CARE ABOUT THAT MF! but if you ever beat ganondorf, let me know how it goes!! i'm curious to know if the fight is hard or similar to the phantom ones!

that's totally okay! koei games are rather old but i love how simple and mindless they usually are! when i was younger, i had a ps2, and that's when i first started playing dynasty warriors 4: empires. from then on, i was totally obsessed! some of their other games are samurai warriors (4 was great, but 5 is a super good story too!), atelier (e.g. atelier ryza), and i think they have tie-ins with other franchises like one piece warriors, fire emblem warriors, and super smash bros. ultimate to name a few!

for jealousy, i feel like my top three list is very odd, but i've rationalized it in my head enough to feel like i can defend it SOMEHOW (to myself): haechan, then mark, then renjun! haechan definitely feels like he'd be loud about being jealous too so that's why i put him on top! i can definitely also see jeno and jaemin have possessive streaks too!

it is absolutely not weird at all for you to be reading the queue updates! i'm super bad at keeping to plans because i'm a bit all over the place as a person and because i actually suffer from ocd, i have a tendency to fixate on something even if i know there's something else waiting for me and i feel compelled to do it to the point that i can't sit still at all until i get it done. hence, why i had no choice but to bang out salted caramel very quickly! i'm glad that the queue updates help you, and i really hope that in the future i won't have to confuse you or anyone else with my messy behavior :(

The whole ride is iconic. It inspired modern day horror tropes, gives goth kids a cool ride to enjoy as they pretend not to enjoy their trip with family when they actually do, has that really interesting spider story in the ballroom scene, X Atencio giving us an iconic song, story, script, and voice acting in the Lemme Outta Here ghost and the break down spiel, THE FREAKING STRETCHING ROOM, THE WALLPAPER!!!!!! Hatbox Ghost being an urban legend, with his existence being argued and questioned for years until we finally got a blurry picture confirmation and him coming back years later, ICONIC! Madame Leota and Little Leota! The hitchhiking ghosts!!! GHOST HOST!!!! The freaking conveyor belt at the end of the attraction that you step off to and if your not careful, it's easy to almost fall, accidentally giving one last scare before you leave the ride and makes you realize how clumsy you are? Iconic. "

"This is a ride that I was absolutely terrified of when I was a little kid. I actually have photographic evidence of this (ask for it if you'd like). But, my goodness, this rough start only made me love it all the more as I grew up. This is such a fun and goofy ride despite the morbid theme and occasional eerie bits! It's a duality. The ghosts have such a personality and the Ghost Host is such a charming guide (and I find the fact that he abandons you to go join the swinging wake hilarious, especially because you wander into the attic with Constance when unguided). It's just such a well-crafted ride! There's so much to see and I never get tired of it. The Doombuggy itself is an ingenious way to move people through the ride with such a distinctive design. The Ghost Host raising and lowering the lap bar for you is neat (fun fact, The Phantom in Phantom Manor is a terrible host and doesn't do this for you, probably because he's too busy planning your death. Asshole.). The effects in the ride are so cool and hold up, especially the Pepper's Ghosts effect. The rooms are distinct and eccentric. The Grim Grinning Ghosts song is absolutely delightful, and it's such a nice touch that you can distinguish the vocals of different ghosts you see in the graveyard. I should also just give a shout-out to the soundtrack for the ride as a whole, which wonderfully warps the Grim Grinning Ghosts theme to match the scene you're in. The ride also does such a good job of plunging you straight into the experience with facade of the mansion (I adore the look of the conservatory) and the queue. The tombstones are so funny and I really appreciate the interactive elements they added in the exterior section. And then you get inside the mansion, hear the Ghost Host's narration, and get into the Stretching Room. How can I describe that room other than frightfully fun? So, why Walt Disney World instead of Disneyland? I prefer experiencing the changing portraits on the ride rather than in the queue. I love the library as the setting for the busts that watch you. The music room with the ghost you can only see in shadow playing a version of Grim Grinning Ghosts is captivating. And, my goodness, the staircase room takes my breath away and I love watching the ghostly footsteps on the stairs. It's even going to have the Hatbox Ghost soon (I am not weighing in on the discourse over the potential location for him).

They pray to God, the infinite is beyond us, it is within us and there without us. Does it love, will, intelligent is there too, the soul of God compressed of unknown is the conscience. We have duty to labor over the soul to defend the martyr of miracles to admit with foot what unnecessary to remove superstition from religion. (but if you really think about it isn't religion just accepted superstition)

All sincere prayer is good, there is philosophy that denies the Infinite and one that denies the sun, it’s called blindness. There are powerful atheists, some aren't sure they are, those that replace Force with Will. To others to deny the will of the infinite is to deny God, negation leads to nihilism. Nihilism has no point, (that’s the whole point) so there is nothingness. “Everything is something. Nothing is Nothing.”.p.334 (then how could it destroy Fantasia) Morality comes out of truth, contemplation leads to action, the ideal. It ceases to be in sterile science and the philosophy becomes religion. Progress is the good, the ideal, God. “we will confine ourselves to saying that we neither understand man as a point of departure nor progress as an end, without those two forces which are their two motors: faith and love.”p. 335

History and Philosophy have eternal simple duties, to combat Caiphas the right to lie apart coenobitism as a problem of humans. With convents it is either yes or no, it is a contradiction of salvation and sacrifice, suffer to enjoy terrestrial gloom for eternal light. (Coenobitism are religious people that live in a monastic community they are not Cenobites from the Hellraiser franchise they are beings that practiced hedonism to the point they can only derive pleasure from extreme pain)

We blame the church but honor the thoughtful man, faith is necessary for man, invisible labor of faith, those that pray for those that don’t. (yes thoughts and prayers are appreciated but could you actually physically help) The nineteenth century souls are little elevated, the monastery is reunification, a cloister does not seem liberating but those women turn to light we cannot see. (yes that’s nice and all but can we get back to the plot now)

To Fauchelevent it appeared Madeliene fell from the sky and he thought about what he said of staying as neither slept. Valjean was on the run and had to remain, it’s the safest and most dangerous place. (yes nuns are less likely to turn him in but it will be noticed that a strange man is in a nunnery) Fauchelevent understood nothing of what was going on, how Madeliene got there with a child, he knows nothing of what occurred in M. sur. M (that’s what they called the town) but one doesn't question a saint and surmised Madeliene became bankrupt and is pursued by creditors and sought refuge. Madeliene saved his life so it's his turn now. “After what he did for me, would I save him if he were a thief? Just the once. If he were an assassin, would I save him? Just the same. Since he is a saint, shall I save him? Just the same.”p.338 (Fauchelevent is all he saved me I don’t care if he is a criminal I’d save him too in contrast to Javert’s black white obey the law outlook)

But to keep him in the convent, all his life he was an egoist but these years in the convent changed his personality to good actions. He built his business in trickery and cunning that still lingered but possessed a quality that stopped him from being wicked. In the morning the two men talked, Valjean and Cosette had to stay in the chamber as today a nun was dying, but tomorrow they could be found. There are girls here and as Valjean thought of Cosette’s education Fauchelevent thought of them being discovering. In order to stay Valjean had to get out and return.

Fauchelevent believes he fell from the sky by God into a women’s convent by mistake. Leave with the child through the service door during the funeral and return tomorrow. Valjean watches Cosette sleeping as Fauchelevent goes on about the funerary process until the Prioress signals for him.

Blemeur waited for him and Fauchelevent has a request of her and spun a story about his age and infirmaries, his great work in the garden, he needs his brother to help him who has a daughter who might become a nun.

The Prioress leaves and returns, the stone in the chapel needs to be raised for the vault, another man is needed. No other man but Fauchelevent is allowed to enter the dead room. During her death Mother Crucifixion (yes that’s her name) gave her last commands, the dead must be obeyed, she will be buried in the coffin she slept in for twenty years and buried in the vault under the alter it is forbidden so must stay secret. (again in contrast to Javert another person is all we must do what is right even if it is against the rules because this is the right thing to do)

Benoit was the patriarch of Mont-Cassin a founder of Saintete Claustrale, an order in existence for fourteen hundred years. Blemeur continued that we live in a time of confusion, people do not know the difference of Bernard who dominated the Catholics and the one of the fourteenth century and blasphemy to compare the scaffold of Louis XVI to Christ. Religion is attacked because of bad priests, (well you hide the bad apples in the bushels and put the wolves in a different fold of sheep) persecute the saints and shut their eyes to the truth, darkness rules. (I just finished reading His Dark Materials this is more enthralling than the last book)

Does Fauchelevent understand, yes, he’ll need a six-foot lever for it. Fauchelevent says his brother is good at strong jobs, she gives him his orders for tonight. She’s pleased with him and tells him to bring his brother and niece after the burial. (I like to think Blemeur had an inkling of what was going on but was all I’ll keep quiet if you keep quiet)

Ride reviews. Literally every ride here is better than the version in Magic Kingdom, and that was agreed upon by the three of us, unanimously.

The dark rides in Fantasyland, Blanche Neige et les Sept Nains and Les Voyages de Pinocchio move at a breakneck speed, which makes them quite thrilling.

The queue lines are actually themed, too.

Pirates of the Caribbean has TWO very exciting drops, and feels overall longer than Orlando's. Bonus, the Johnny Depp presence is very minimal, and subdued.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is AMAZING! It is extremely fast, and begins with a scream-inducing crazy fast pitch black spiralling tunnel. This one also feels much longer, and ends with another 'death spiral'. This is due to the fact that the actual ride is located on an island in the middle of the river, and the loading zone is on the banks of the river.

Phantom Manor is like the Haunted Mansion with a cohesive story, and much more sinister imagery. Definitely a new favorite.

Most importantly, we got through 5 attractions in under 3 hours, and then decided to walk back to our hotel for an afternoon nap. Yes, the hotels are within walking distance of both parks.

Tomorrow, we will go back to Walt Disney Studios in the morning, return to our hotel after lunch for pool time and naps, and finally, the Halloween Party!

So far, our vacation has been incredible, and we haven't even gone into Paris proper.
