Danny Phantom in the my hero acadamia world FIC idea:

Danny had a niche quirk like being able to sense the suns location or something. His mother has some sort of strength quirk. Jazz has some enchanted sight quirk, and his dad can do something idk he ain’t the main character.

Ghosts exist for reasons.

Danny ends up meeting the my hero acadamia gang and AFO

AFO looks at this white haired green eyed boy and feels immense guilt which Danny does his own research. Danny decided that if it keeps this guy from taking over the world he will pretend to be this Yoichi guy.

Yoichi as a ghost only Danny can see is feeding him information.

Danny and Phantom are different personalities that don't know about the other.

Danny believes he is Quirkless and had trained to become a vigilante called Reaper

Phantom has a quirk called Ghost he is training to become a hero

If I did write this, the themes would probably revolve more around grief than existentialism. Kinda want to explore the idea of grieving people and trauma from experiences that aren't actually real--but the feelings about them are. All of Danny's memories of his old home feel very real to him. His grief is real, because he exists now to grieve. But nothing he's grieving is real to other people.

He loses his parents, and the opportunity to tell them the truth about his powers. He'll never know if they would have accepted him or not. They don't exist to say. He loses his sister and his friends. Suddenly the people who supported him through thick and thin aren't there.

It feels like they're dead

But they never existed in the first place.

And everything he survived working as a hero in his home town? The blood, sweat and tears? Saving his home town, and being hunted down by ghost hunters? None of that holds any weight in Musutafu.

Everything he remembers working so hard to save is gone. There was nothing he could do to stop it, because nothing existed to be threatened in the first place.

How can he be so angry about something that he never actually lost?

He's shaped by memories of things that are only real to him

And it's all because of a quirk accident. There aren't any villains Danny can fight to solve his problem.

As for the girl.. I lean more toward him being independent from her once he does exist. The idea behind her is that her quirk was misclassified as like.. Puppetry. So when her quirk first manifested, she could animate things, make them move on their own. But the actual bring them to life part went undiscovered. Either cause it's an extension of her quirk.. or because she's never animated something that had a mouth to talk before. Until Danny.

But, yeah, independent. If he needs to absorb energy. It would have more to do with fueling his powers than like... life support.

Probably would play around with the fact that the ramifications of her quirk are unknown though. Danny wouldn't be at risk of suddenly dropping dead. But he doesn't know that.

Since his powers technically come from quirks in this au. I'm playing with the idea that he could absorb energy from the people around him, which would probably mean their powers don't work as they should. At least temporarily.

So he draws in energy and kind of transmutes it into ectoplasm.

Todoroki would probably have some thoughts ab it if Danny could temporarily cancel out someone's quirks. In a way that, on a surface level, looks very similar to Erasure

Ooh, but if he wasn't completely independent from his "creator," it could be interesting to lean more into the Danny Leaching Off Quirks concept. Like, Danny draws energy from other people and that temporarily erases their quirk. But on top of that, the girl is only capable of bringing one thing to life at a time. So for as long as Danny's alive, she can't use her quirk.

Idk, I think there could be a lot of drama with an idea like that. Especially in a world like bnha, with quirkism.

It all starts when class 1-A is trying to help a little girl with an out of control quirk that brings inanimate objects to life.

And she accidentally brings Danny to life.

Queue Danny, who firmly believes he's in an alternate universe, trying any way he can to get home.

Only to have to come to terms with the idea that his world and none of his memories are real. None of the people he loves so much were ever real. He's only been alive for so long too.
