TRIGUN ULTIMATE OVERHAUL FEBRUARY 2024 UPDATE
OVERHAUL UPDATE 02/02/24 - New manga only server and more double page spreads.
Hey there, everyone!
After asking for help last update, we were able to find someone who could take over the job of compiling and translating sound effects. We are thankful for the people offering their help and those boosting our post with reblogs, helping in their own way by bringing attention to our post. We are excited to accept this new person into our team, as we are yet to fully get them introduced to the rest of the team.
~~
BIG NEWS: WE'LL BE OPENING A NEW DISCORD SERVER FOR MANGA ONLY CONTENT.
This server will be both for fans of the Trigun manga, and people who want to get into the manga. It can also help everyone with finding the physical copies of the manga and other manga merch, like the magazine or official Nightow art.
Beyond that, it will also work as a point for people to more directly interact with the Trigun Ultimate Overhaul team, for both receiving updates or asking questions. The cleaning process of the manga will also be regularly streamed for people to watch the magic happen, and how exactly that entire process looks like.
Furthermore, it will be a collaboration with the @trigunbookclub to have a centralized point for organizing events and event announcements. This puts Trigun Tumblr's two projects under one roof, but will an always open door to accept collaboration with even more projects in the future.
More specifics details about the server:
It will be a SFW server for both adults and minors
It will attempt to remain manga focused with no channels dedicated to discussing the two animes and the movie.
The link to the server will only be shared and should only be shared on Tumblr to keep the number of users to a reasonable level, but also to keep the atmosphere akin to what we're all hopefully familiar with.
Fanart channels will be made, and an option to share the art of others with the proper credit. We will have very artist friendly rules about feedback and sharing other people's art.
Server will be handled by people with experience in running servers, but potentially also by people wishing to try their hand at modding for the first time.
We will be posting the link to the server when it's ready some time next week! Keep an eye out!
~~
Lastly, we didn't give you any cleaned double page spreads last month, so we brought some really fine ones from Vol 5 this time around. Beware of manga spoilers!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
~~
That's all for this update, look forward to interacting more with everyone in our new server!
SEE YOU GUYS NEXT MONTH!

Good News!
Hey everyone!
So... as of about five minutes ago, I have written the last words of the first draft of FoA!
From here, I will be taking a few more days to edit and test what I've written, and then the Early Access release cycle will begin. The important dates for that are:
Monday, 20 November: Early Access for Everbloom Tier on Patreon
Thursday, 23 November: Early Access for Blossom and Bud Tiers
Monday, 27 November: Early Access for Seedling Tier
Thursday, 30 November: Public Release!
The release will be both Chapter Ten and the Epilogue, which are at present 95,745 and 63,098 words respectively, for a total of 158,843 words to round out this part of the story! I hope you're excited to read it.
I anticipate lots of editing, as there are a few things (including the personality system) I intend to completely overhaul, and other things I'll need to consider, plus sections that will likely be moved, added, or trimmed for pacing reasons, and all of that. I'll keep posting monthly updates here on tumblr, with more detailed coverage of the process and further updates and previews on Patreon, but that's something I'll talk more about in a little while.
For now, I just wanted to say the last parts of the game are coming very soon, and I'm thrilled to be able to share them with you.

Reclamation Algorithm 2 updates from CNY AK stream:
Completely overhauled UI, including proper shop menus, organized and easily parsed lists for foods and tools/structures, and more.
Capturing animals requires a specific tool, and then you need enough space on your base to keep the animal in specific grazing tiles in fences (seemingly, one tile per animal).
Slug Racing! You can capture different kinds of Originium Slugs to enter them in local Slug Races for prizes. This includes Pompeii, as seen in the stream.
Secret areas which you access by accepting specific quests.
The playthrough goes on for as long as you want. The stream was on Day 54.
Food buffs have time limits now. Food we saw on stream had 6 to 9 Days before the buffs ran out.
Quality of Life upgrades for base building. You can now zoom out to see your whole base. Additionally, you have to confirm all your new structures by saving them after placing them, so if you make a mistake, you can undo that for free if you haven’t saved yet! If you do save your mistake, you can remove normally and get a 90% refund anyways. You also can directly upgrade structures now.
It will be a permanent game mode with seasons and monthly rewards and updates, like Integrated Strategies.

Workshop Poll: To Wait, or Not To Wait
Tumblr media
Hello Workshop Spectators! We have a big decision to talk about today and vote on, alongside our usual monthly update. The target month for our 1.0 launch was originally slated for May 2024; this was back when we didn't anticipate having a large budget surplus, and assumed we would only have about 150 extra lines to write, review, & commission alongside the original 1200 line script. However, due in great part to Paul Warren's recording speed as a voice actor, we ended up with a surplus budget that leaves us with closer to 650 lines of extra content to create. For the last two months we've been hard at work behind the scenes, cooking up a slew of new scripts, content and dialogue as per the results of the FUN(ds) initiative. Coupled with the many fantastic ideas offered up by members of the community, the production time needed to fully realize all 15 new scripts means that our original release date is just not tenable. So, we offer two options to the community: 1) We release Kaidan Revoiced: Community Expansion in its current state in May 2024. We have the bulk of Kaidan's lines added into the current version, and line implementation on our end would continue after release. However, given the nature of some of the new content yet to implemented (the Intro Overhaul, for example), this will inevitably mean that some updates will require a new save file. 2) We delay the release of Kaidan Revoiced: Community Expansion for later in 2024. While we want to get KR:CE into your hands as quickly as possible, we also want to ensure that we are doing our due diligence in providing a quality product. Delaying the 1.0 update would allow us to deliver a complete mod on day one, and focus solely on bug fixes during the subsequent weeks after launch.
You can vote for either option here! Voting ends April 8th, 2024.

Last month at the wiki — January 2024
Every month, we highlight significant work done in the previous month by our editing community at Encyclopedia Exandria.
To start, here's a selection of ten articles created in January. You can find more of our newest articles at the 50 newest pages report.
Unabridged, group of immortals in Hale
Toren Gevni, Unabridged in Newfaire
Iomene, empress of Oldfaire
Cullet, lung disease in Newfaire
Reva the Revenant, player character of Jasmine Bhullar for the DOOM Eternal One-Shot
Ishto, paladin of the Lawbearer from Aeshanadoor
Schlond's Embrace, alcoholic drink
Critical Role: Sick Day, special live stream
For the Queen, card-based game
Anatithenai, location in Hale
This month was quieter on new article creation. The Critical Role channel had a quieter month on that front as well, so it is not unexpected. But, work on the wiki is not limited to new articles!
On the less visible end of things, a significant number of articles for people and characters were updated with short descriptions. These are the descriptions that appear in the suggested articles in the search bar and aim to help identify articles so that you may better arrive where you wish to go.
Tumblr media
Matching the new article for Reva, the article for Mancubus the Mancubus was similarly overhauled and is no longer mostly empty sections. Work on coverage for the DOOM Eternal One-Shot continues, so look out for more updates on that in the February round-up next month!
Our Midst glossary was restructured and greatly expanded. Just in time for its third and final season. Between the season two roundtable tonight and the season premiere next week, it's a good time to remind everyone that we cover Midst and its part of our regular stable of updates.
As always, if you wish to contribute to the wiki or to help out, feel free! It doesn't fit well into these monthly roundups, but the past couple of months, we've had some contributions from new editors that we're immensely grateful for. We welcome typo and grammar fixes, updating outdated material, article expansions, and edits of any byte size.

My Patreon is now live!
Hallo Freunde! I'm K. Wölfin (or you might know me as Woelf/Mama Katz elsewhere.) I'm a former in-house graphic designer who's gradually transitioning to the freelance side of the art world full time.
EDIT: 2/14/2024 The Patreon will be getting an overhaul and shifting more towards a videogame art focus. Currently it is predominantly Jak and Daxter fan work. I'd love to be able to focus on things like Baldur's Gate, Cult of the Lamb, Stardew, and Hades. Tier names will be changing, though the pricing will not. I'll also be working towards having booth merchandise, so some of my updates will be centered around that.
I have new pieces or sketches available weekly, with exclusive NSFW pieces that are only available on Patreon.
I'm also starting monthly pose inspiration packs with a focus on fantasy creatures/monsters.

Threads of You: Beyond the Bay 🌊 Monthly Devlog #2: November 30th, 2023
Yet another month, another devlog... Hey, everyone! 🎉 Welcome to the mass post for all things Threads of You: Beyond the Bay, where we spill the beans on what's been brewing... behind the scenes.
This month has been a whirlwind as we inch closer to the big reveal of our demo! Crunch time has hit, and the Lavendeer team has been putting in extra hours. How about a virtual pat on the back for our hard work? 🙌
But, hey, enough about that. Let's dive right in! ✨
Our socials! @lavendeerstudios | Follow our Twitter!
Tumblr media
Programming wise, it's been busy this month! Relationship modifiers, arguably one of the most important things in a romance otome game, between the MC (You) and the characters were successfully implemented.
Alongside that, we've refined our scenes with proper animations to both our characters and UI to make it flow smoother and look pleasing to the eyes! It should also easier to navigate.
On the aesthetic front, our commissioned GUI is now not only complete, but seamlessly integrated into the game! Huge thanks to @sitraxis! We've shown a couple of sneak peeks, but look forward to more now that our key art made by Somate Studio is finished! Big thanks to them as well, we can't wait to show you guys how it looks!
The character customization progress has also undergone a significant overhaul. With a keen focus on every one of our players getting the representation they deserve, we've decided to add more options! Down to more skin tones (including albinism/vitiligo) to even adding religious wear and fashion styles. Feel free to send suggestions under this Twitter post!
Last but certainly not least, the programming team (it's just Lumi) has implemented a series of choices which can further personalize the main character and will reflect in-game (such as height or education)!
Tumblr media
Our art team has also achieved a significant amount of milestones as well! The car interior/exterior BG art is now a finished masterpiece thanks to chuupew, Lumi, and newcomer, Jin!
BG art of the Hostel and its interior is currently a WIP, but we are expecting its completion pretty soon. All character sprites have been finished and 6/7 have been posted to all of our socials! Glad you guys are loving them. Huge thanks to @134340zzz and chuupew!
We have one more CG in the works as well! Keep an eye out for that~
Our commissioned keychains and standee designs have also been finished! Big thanks to mochibunny & Luii Lafete! The designs were made for Kickstarter, but Kickstarter's been sort of an issue for us recently... so we'll keep you updated with what we decide to do with these newly made designs.
Fun fact! Our character release sheets were actually inspired by my (siilycat/ai) scuffed Apple notes drawings. I was not home, but I still wanted to share my ~~artistic~~ vision SOMEHOW and I'm glad I did so through my notes app! (I am the only one on the team with no artistic talent whatsoever, but they turned it into something great!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Who let me cook?
Tumblr media
After further inspection, we realized how... lifeless and subpar some of the writing feels. So we have decided to revisit it and put life into an otherwise mediocre script.
Writing is pretty important in a visual NOVEL and we don't want to disappoint the people who play it. Hope you guys enjoy the new, revised script. We also had a concerning amount of... grammatical errors relating to past/present tense.
We also added more descriptive sections based on the player's choices which is always fun!
Tumblr media
This has been a HUGE month for social media, most especially over on Twitter! We released 6/7 of our characters and VAs were announced! In case you missed it, here are the posts announcing the characters!
Kai Nguyen - Twitter | Tumblr Wyatt Quinn Quiggley - Twitter | Tumblr Vince Matador - Twitter | Tumblr ⭐ Jean Williams - Twitter | Tumblr Andrew Mitchell - Twitter | Tumblr ⭐ Kevin Zuño - Twitter | Tumblr and one more coming soon...
The stars ⭐ are the fan favourites! And their VAs in respective order are...
[not yet announced] Cam Raleigh, Wyatt Quinn Quiggley - Twitter | Twitch Noah Keawekane, Vince Matador - Twitter Noir Thornton, Jean Williams - Twitter Phil Ava, Andrew Mitchell - @philsterman01 | Twitter | YouTube Jerron Bacat, Kevin Zuño - Twitter | Twitch and one more coming soon...
In other news, we went from 100 to 1000 followers on Twitter in a month! Isn't that crazy? We were really worried about marketing the game, but I think we're making good progress!
Besides that, we have also started working on the itch.io and kickstarter page! Speaking of kickstarter, we're having issues with it so we're thinking of approaching a couple of publishers... Any suggestions or advice? Hit us up on Twitter!
We also received fanart for the first time! A huge win! Our dear artists were so happy to hear that someone loved their character designs enough to draw them themselves!
Tumblr media
Go check these wonderful artists out!
bluuescluues - @BluuClr haven - @vipersiia GreenVampBun(Only peace) - @Mesaku18
Thank you so so much for the fanart, you have NO IDEA how happy you've made the Lavendeer team 💖
Tumblr media
Our plans for the next month include things like revealing our beautiful key art and final character, holding a raffle to celebrate the support we've gotten, finishing character customization and character expressions, and implementing a unique OST for the demo!
Commissioning music as a person who doesn't know anything about music is a really hard thing to do by the way. Shoutout to our composer, Ben Sigerson for putting up with my bullshit and going COMPLETELY based off of vibes. It's genuinely really good music and we're really low on budget so we thank him for all that he's done.
We really can't wait for you guys to see what we've been cookin' up for the past year. Also, stay on the lookout for an in character q&a soon!

When is The Big Bad Wolf Act 2 coming out?? Are you going to release monthly or all at once?? (I just finished the series and I’m in love 🩷🩷 no rush to write, just wondering if you have an idea because you have loyal readers waiting to love it!!! Have a great day <3)
Hello! Lovely to meet you and thank you so much for reading, that fic is a BEAST. So glad you enjoyed it!
So. When is the next update coming out? [nervous laughter]
Thing is, I told myself now I'm halfway i'll go back and edit, smooth things out before this fic literally becomes too long to tackle and that kinda...turned into a full rewrite?
I'm not changing the plot. That's exactly the same. But my ideas for the lore have changed since I first started writing and I wanted to add in a whole lot more of characterisation and set up for the chapters to come. I rewrote The Little Wolf back in December and recently did some tweaking to chapter 5 of it just this last week (I couldn't work out how to fix it when I first did the rewrite but I had an EPHIPHANY okay). So The Little Wolf is around 35k now, which is a huge difference to the 11k it was in November when I posted chapter 35 of tbbw. It's got tons of new scenes, a sharper forcus on the Mikaelson siblings not just Klaus and two whole new chapters. Of course, you've probably already read that as it is posted and you're a new reader, but that's what I was doing before Christmas, essentially.
As for The Big Bad Wolf itself...boy, where do I start. I'm approaching 85k on the rewrite...only on chapter 7. Which technically used to be chapter 6, because I got 5 chapters in before I added a new chapter. I guess that's a record for my restraint, at least.
So, in terms of what's happening: I'm re-writing tbbw. The plot isn't changing, but new scenes are being added, conversations are being tweaked, the lore is being more consistently fleshed out. Grammar for dialogue is being given a complete overhaul because that was a mess. But. Listen. It's so much better. It's so fucking better. I re-read the chapters I've done and in some places, the drafts aren't quite finished yet, like my writer brain is like fix this later BUT omg it's like, THE shit. It's so good. I've very excited.
I'm not sure how long it will take to finish. I might be able to stop halfway and post the rewritten/edited chapters I've got so far but I make no promises because I feel more inclined to keep going and get it all done in one. Some chapters won't need much work at all as they've been more heavily edited in the past (chapter 8 and 9 should be done pretty quickly, just giving them a facelift), while others I'm really ripping into. There's one chapter I know I'll either delete or delete scenes from to be replaced with something else (don't worry, the scenes will go into my deleted scenes fic on ao3, it's not gone forever).
So yeah. At the rate I'm going, I'm not gonna lie, it may take till the summer before I get all this editing done AND finish the new chapter 36 update - and you may get two new chapters at once, because it might be a long one and I might split it. But by the end of it, tbbw won't be 378k anymore. It'll probably be closer 450k. So you'll get a 50k+ update (along with some bonus stuff) to the whole fic and then a week later I'll post the new chapters (I used to post fornightly, a chapter every two weeks, and I'll go back to that when I'm done).
But yeah. I've written like, 110k since December, which for context is is closing in on the equivalent of the second book of TLOTR trilogy: The Return of the King was 137,115 words. That's an epic novel's worth. In three months.
An arguement could be made that I'm making this fic way too long but I don't really care? I love writing this. It makes my head spin and makes me tear my hair out but...it's so much fun too. And I get to rewrite canon, the way it should have been (we were so ROBBED 😭😭😭), so hey! It's free therapy too! I'm not going to stop as long as I'm loving every second.
Thanks for reading, and thank for listening to my insane plans! Hopefully, I'll see you there on ao3 when this fic is back for business!!
-And it WILL be back.

Turning the Page on 2023
Its been a while since my last update. Some of that has been enjoying the holidays, most of it was me a 5 week leadership course that put me through my paces. Nonetheless, I’m here to reflect on 2023, and let you know what awaits me in 2024.
While the year started off a bit rough, I was finally put back on antidepressants, and those have been a great help. Despite my struggles with maintaining sobriety and a healthy weight, I managed to get above a 90 on my Air Force PTtest for the first time in 2 years.
Looking back at the work, I produced, I’m genuinely surprised at the work I was able to put out. I was able to put my photography, videography, and After Effects skills to the test, and made some great work. I returned to Patreon with monthly illustration goals, as well as made some amazing original artwork. I’ve continued to podcast with a good friend of mine where we talk about video games, and other related issues, even hitting our 2 year anniversary.
I also finally got to return home to Portland for the first time in 2 years, and it was a wonderful visit home. Had a wonderful holiday time with friends and family, and I miss them all already.
And most amazing of all, I married the love of my life. My summer wedding trip to Brazil was a time I will never forget, and cherish for the rest of my days. Cannot wait to get you here, Gigi. I love you dearly ❤️
That was 2023, let’s look ahead to 2024. I very much miss streaming and talking with all of you out there. So, I have plans to make my return to Twitch this January — I made it a point to use streaming as a way to keep tabs on me and maintain my sobriety, so if you all like real talk and dope video games, drop on by! Expect promos and updates on that in the near future.
Keeping with the theme of developing healthier habits, I will definitely be pushing myself to losing weight, and overhauling my diet. I’m considering going vegetarian, I do love vegetables after all; just need to make sure I’m getting enough protein. I set a personal best for the leg press with 700 pounds, let’s see if I can set some new records!
Last but not least, I’ve fallen into the nasty habit of just flopping onto my couch after work, and watching YouTube until bed. I cannot keep that up. So I resolve to set myself at my desk, or in front of the microphone. I still have so much work to do and so little time, wish me luck!
I want to thank all of you following me across my various socials, I love being able to entertain you — Whether it’s drawing a sexy girl, or drawing Many sexy girls.
Here’s to a happy and healthy 2024!

Update #2 A dreadful boogaloo
I'm not going to start the update positively in any way because, let's be honest here, the past month hasn't been very fruitful. Welcome back to the monthly update. We're here to see what's next, some ideas I have, and some questions that might have arisen in me.
But before I bore you all to death, let's end this quickly.
Requests:
As you may have all seen not much on that front. I wasn't really into smut, so there wasn't much to do: As most are nothing else than smut. There are two I haven't touched in a while. Sorry for that, Requesters. Because I'm actually struggling a bit with the timeline in one of them. Not from my side but from the source. And the problem with the other one is described further below.
Reworking:
Nothing happened here, either. I'm currently working on the fifth part of Raven-Haired Beauty, so still far off from a lot of my older work that really needs an overhaul.
New One-shots/Imagines:
Nothing really new there either.
Series:
Not working on anything worthwhile at the moment. As requested, I've finally started writing the third part of “Miscommunication”, but nothing else, really.
The Fairy Prince is still getting its complete remake. It's going to be very different from the one you can read right now, but I still need to sort out a few things before I can even attempt to remake it.
Trashcan:
My trashcan is absolutely overflowing right now. I wrote so many things that I didn't like anymore a moment later that instead of improving them, I just threw them into it.
I had even written an entire request just to double-check the request to make sure everything was correct, only to realize I had completely screwed it up. I'll post it anyway after I've finished the actual request. But damn, I was and still am so angry about it.

TRIGUN ULTIMATE OVERHAUL MARCH 2024 UPDATE
OVERHAUL UPDATE 03/01/24 - Manga server and end of hiatus.
Hey, everyone, and welcome back to another monthly update!
Our Overhaul work has been on a small hiatus for the last couple of months, just to ensure that we don't burn out. However, it has come to an end and we're excited to resume the cleaning and preparation for upcoming releases.
We still don't have a clear picture of when exactly the English 2.0 translation will begin its release, but we know for sure that it is coming. While work on the new translation hasn't started it, it doesn't mean we aren't preparing for it. All the cleaning work done for the Japanese releases are also a precursor to preparing pages for the English version, and we have been taking notes of all the feedback we've got for our previous translation, as well.
For now, everything is following schedule and we aren't behind on any front, but that is also a primary goal for our team to ensure that it remains a fun project and not a stressful time crunch.
~~
The new manga server is going well.
The number of new users has been less than expected, but that is by no means a negative thing. We hoped for a smaller, more relaxed experience, and that is exactly what we've got.
For anyone looking to join, or are on the fence about joining, know that the server isn't massive and the activity is a slow but pleasant trickle of questions, memes, and general love posting for the series.
We've also set up times for Overhaul streams, where you can watch the cleaning work being done, or the preparation of other promotional material.
It's every Friday at 7PM CST and every Sunday at 1PM CST.
Feel free to join the server through the link in an older post on this blog.
~~
Anyway, time for some cleaned double page spreads from Vol 6:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The number of spreads went down significantly from Vol 5 to 6. These pages above are basically all that show up in the entirety of the volume, with a single double page spread per chapter, with the exception of chapter 1 which has none.
~~
But that's all we've got for this update. We hope to see you around in the server, otherwise we're still thankful for everyone sharing and following our project!
SEE YOU GUYS NEXT MONTH!

Some Updates!
We’d like to inform you of some upcoming changes in the shop and with our process. As always most of our activity is over on our Discord Server! Available spirits will now be separated into categories by conjuror. Visits will be through public requests instead of the ticket system. We are also overhauling the application system going forward, from now on there will be one application per person instead of applying for each individual spirit. You can update your own unique application over time, and you’ll be able to put in claims for spirits instead of creating a new application each time. If you would like to be considered for any spirit moving forward we would like to ask you to fill out the following application: https://forms.gle/w3Vpjm7KMcbMw1vAA If you’ve already put in an application for a spirit that hasn’t closed apps yet, don’t worry. This won’t affect any applications submitted in the past. The “clubs” such as book club, self care club, and the monthly rituals are being put on hold so that we can put all of our focus into the shop itself. Thanks, The Lunar Rose Spirit Services Team

Hi hi could you please link the masterlist of tags so I can refer to it for future purposes? Thanks!
Also, I had a question. When I tried to click on the tags in the masterlist, there was a message that displayed that it didn’t exist. Was there a reason for that?
Hey anon!
You've got amazing timing, actually, because we were about to announce that the Tag Archive Masterlist has been overhauled and updated this Tuesday, but we can totally leak it a bit early ;)
So, without further ado, here's the new Tag Archive Masterlist!
One of the things we pride ourselves on the most is how well we document and categorize our concepts so it’s as easy as possible to find what you’re looking for. In addition to our search bar, you’ll now find a detailed Tag Archive on our desktop site, complete with author tags, main tags, top 10 most popular tags, and 273 of the most-frequently utilized tags, sorted alphabetically and updated on a monthly basis.
Tumblr media
We hope you enjoy this new tagging system! Did we miss anything in the sweep?
- Admin M  x
(P.S. The reason why some of the tags weren't working earlier is due to the old tagging system and the new tagging system not meshing on Tumblr's end. We'd previously link tagged posts like "/tagged/otp-au" but the new Tumblr tagging system now requires "/tagged/otp%20au". Because of that, we had to go through all the old links and update them by hand. They should be working now, though!)

Regarding Immortal Sins...
Ahoy, maties!
It's been quite a while since I wrote the last post (longer since the last Monthly Sync). The last few months have been busy for me, resulting into not having enough time to work on the game. It didn't help that I'd have to overhaul the server I used to have the game's documentation (since it broke during migration). So, here's what I've been working so far, and share some of the next steps for the game.
Server Overhaul
For a long time, I had an Azure Web App that hosted the game's documentation. The original setup was powered on a Windows Server, and relied on two PHP sites: one was the (now defunct) bug tracker and a wiki software (Dokuwiki). With the release of PHP 8, there was no support on Windows Server (on MS Azure. You can use PHP on Windows). While it worked, PHP 7.4 was on a limited support. So, I had to migrate it to a Linux powered server. After creating the new one, I downloaded the files via FTP and moved them over to the new one. Simple, right? Well... It broke. Dokuwiki used the file storage to save the pages (no need for a database), so it wasn't it (kind of). First roadblock was that PHP 8 used a different server software to host (Nginx, Win Server has the IIS), so I had to do some configuration. But then, I keep seeing 404 errors. I couldn't understand what went wrong. After spinning up XAMMP locally, I see the issue: the wiki software broke. It seems like a combination of broken cache and breaking changes in code. This would require a ton of work to get it back up and running. The problem here is: I don't know how to code in PHP and it was a large codebase. So, I decided to rebuild it. This time, I'd use .NET and Blazor. Not only this would make it substantially smaller and faster, I could easily integrate features in a language that I know to program. Plus, I get to use my new web design skills (and polish them). And since Dokuwiki didn't rely on a database for storage, I was able to recover most of the pages.
Tumblr media
With the new Dragohouse Help Center, the original site has been overhauled. Thanks to Blazor Server, it's rendered better, loads faster and it's more friendly to mobile devices. I've also done some work on the presentation, being nicer to navigate as well. The manuals are now structured in a more traditional manner (more like a book than a wiki page).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another improvement is the new Bug Report page. Utilising GitHub, it makes it far more streamlined to file in bugs. There is more work to be done (streamlining the login process is on my list), but it opens up tools for me. One of the features that I can use is reporting the status of reported issues in the Trello board, so you can see what's going on with it.
The last thing is that the site is fully managed via a repo. I can easily update the site when needed, send it to my build server and then upload it to the web server. This makes it easy for me to maintain it and update documentation (with an easy way to roll back, in case it breaks). It also means that I can iterate on new features faster, too. Maybe have the server host hotfixes for the game? That would be cool (especially since the game has a package manager built-in). I am seeing this as a long-term project. Something that could be used for future stuff as well.
The future
So... What's next for Immortal Sins? This is one of the questions that I can't answer yet. The last few months have been a bit grueling for me. Training for a future job, losing a close relative and having occasional burn-out periods have drained me. Coupled with a recent wave of feedback and having to prioritize work (which would pay me), I had to shelve the game for a while and once the IRL stuff was in order, I'd pick the game back up. At the moment, I have a lot of thoughts about the game. I'm not sure what to do next. Should I rebuild the game in a new engine? Shelve it for good? Start over in the same engine? I'm going to need some time to gather my thoughts and decide on what to do. I want to give the game a proper conclusion. But I need a bit of time. Until then, I'm going to put the game into maintenance mode for a bit. I'll push out fixes when needed. But I need to make my mind up, before I push out more substantial updates. I am one developer working on the game. I have my own limits.
This is a post that isn't easy for me to write. At the time of this writing, Immortal Sins is a project I love and hate at the same time. It's been a source of frustration (mainly due to the engine) but I am thankful on working on it, as it allowed me to get creative and getting my curiosity in programming to the next level. What future holds, is something that I can't answer. But, whenever it will be in the current state or being rebuilt, I want to get the game in a state I can be happy with.
That's all for now. See you in the next post.

Last month year at the wiki — 2022
Happy New Year! Today, as we all begin 2023, our editing community at Encyclopedia Exandria take the time to look back at the year we just left. Here is a special edition of our still-new monthly retrospectives: last year at the wiki.
2022 has been an exciting year for us as a fan community. The Legend of Vox Machina premiered, Tal'Dorei Campaign Setting Reborn, Call of the Netherdeep, and The Nine Eyes of Lucien were published, 4-Sided Dive began, ExU Kymal and Calamity aired, Vox Machina Origins: Series III and Tales of Exandria: The Bright Queen concluded, Mighty Nein Origins: Caleb, Yasha, and Fjord released.
It's been a busy time, especially for us at the Encyclopedia Exandria. The Critical Role wiki at Miraheze was opened to the public on June 9 as a fork from the original Fandom wiki.
In acknowledgement of the hard and exciting work our editors have accomplished over the past year, here is a selection of projects that our community is especially proud to have created or significantly improved (or is excited to have seen others work on) in 2022.
But first, to say: we are grateful for and excited about all work that was contributed to Encyclopedia Exandria, ranging from hefty content updates to spelling and typing error corrections. All of this together makes the wiki the resource that it is, and all contributions made over the past year by our editors—whether they be veteran, new, anonymous, or just passing by—is immensely valued.
Because many of our editors are veterans from Fandom and because this project is a fork, thus is based off the Fandom wiki as it existed in late May and inherited any contributions previously made there, the following projects include those editors of Encyclopedia Exandria completed while at the Fandom wiki. We are proud of that work as well, and they are included in keeping with the spirit of highlighting accomplishments and contributions to our wiki over the past year that our editors are proud of, regardless of where they first made these edits.
A family of articles covering the Tide of Retribution adventure from Explorer's Guide to Wildemount was added to the wiki. "Three Earrings" is a particular highlight.
With new access to the first two Chronicles of Exandria artbooks as a resource, we could make some significant updates. Most excitingly, "Ulugrah" was created, and "Melanie de Rolo" and "Grand Purveyor of the Grey Hunt" were greatly expanded.
Speaking of improvements in Campaign 1 coverage, "Vord" saw much-needed and long-overdue improvements, and the creation of "githyanki skull" covered an old gap of a very interesting item from the campaign. Other notable overhauls include "The Calamity" and "Star Razor".
Some more conceptual articles have also been reorganized and created. Perhaps not as exciting as other content updates, but it has been a boon for readability and information seeking. "Resurrection, "media chronology", and "magic" come to mind.
We revisited the historical decision not to properly cover the verboten Wendy's one-shot. "Feast of Legends" (formerly "Special 48") now treats the one-shot as any other.
We as a community are very proud of our coverage of Exandria Unlimited: Calamity. The topic is vast, and we love many aspects of it, but we are especially proud of "Astral Leywright", "Eyes of Avalir", "Tempus" and, of course, "Bolo Maximus".
All of our Talks Machina articles were renamed and given new episode codes to make them easier to identify and reference. For example, the article for the Talks Machina for 2x26: Found & Lost used to be simply "Talks Machina 74" with a code of "TMx74". It is now titled "Talks Machina 74: Found & Lost" and has a code of "TM2x26". That's not all for Talks Machina! These articles have long stood empty, but headway this year as seen all of them filled with at least the topics covered, and some Talks articles even now contain the cast's answers and discussion.
The family of articles for the Arms of the Betrayers were created early in the year, filling in a large gap in coverage for lore introduced in Explorer's Guide to Wildemount. The work was rewarded when "Mace of the Black Crown" became an important article for Calamity viewers.
Increased coverage of the smaller but unique elements of Exandria has been a joy to see. "Tree of the sun", "Trost", and "candlerock" are but a handful of the new articles on plants, animals, foods, and other small bits of the world.
We've also been very excited about work that is very hard to link to here, such as steadily removing rampant plagiarism, the development of clearer wiki policies, improvements to category structure, updates and re-structuring of infoboxes, separation of the "specials" episode category into one-shots and miscellaneous filmed content, and the creation of a script that near-instantly updates articles when the VOD is released on YouTube. These projects work mostly in the background and are harder to notice, but we feel they've improved the wiki just like any content update.
It's been a very busy 2022, and this is just a small selection of the amazing work our editing community has accomplished. We are proud of all the work that we've seen in the six months since Encyclopedia Exandria was created, and the work in the six months before that that we inherited.
We look forward to 2023 and to the exciting work that year will bring.
