Spica the Mother Hen, always makes sure the kids are presentable, well taken care of, and keeping up with their school work while Alpheratz makes sure they are well fed, taking plenty of breaks, and recesses, and maybe a little spoiled.

Alpheratz and Spica keep an eye on them, Alpheratz worries about them for the same reason he is worried for Vega, their Mid-Earthiem background means they have naturally lower mana levels than the average Sorcerer which makes healing from wounds or recovering from sickness slower…

Spica sees potential in the Summoner, he wants to encourage them to push themself to the limit(a reasonable limit though), much to Alpheratz’s disapproval, he’d rather they stay out of the Guide Committee’s (sometimes) dangerous outings. This is the serious conversation they never have, other than Alpheratz constantly sleeping through everything-

Vega: Middle Child

Cold but joins in the mischief, often joining the others in teasing Alpheratz. Doesn’t join the others for outings often.

Alpheratz makes sure he is well fed, he’s worried for Vega due to his Mid-Earthiem background and terrible food choices… This boy needs real food, not juice and jelly packets…

Spica knows Vega will follow the Summoner(like a puppy-) and uses that to keep him coming to meetings.

Polly: Baby boy.

A baby. A mischievous as hell baby. Will cause problems on purpose and on accident. Cries easily must be consoled.

Often watched over by Alpheratz while Spica is working- can’t have the baby bothering the working Father. But sometimes- he might just set Polly on Spica for a good laugh.

character hcs for, hmmm.... let's go for solana and garrus please!

Sexuality Headcanon: Solana is bisexual and Garrus is straight.

Gender Headcanon: Cis woman and cis man, respectively.

A ship I have with said character: I ship Solana with James Vega real hard. It sort of happened by accident - in Come Back Alive, James is guarding Lora after he and Jack found her in the rubble and sticks around after Solana and Castis show up to take care of her. Solana is in a rough space emotionally - her brother is lost in space, and her leg is never going to heal right, so she's contending with the realization that her mobility will never be the same. And, then there's the fact that her dad is emotionally constipated and not taking care of his own needs, let alone hers. She needs someone to talk to and James isn't perfect - he sticks his foot in his mouth a lot, but he tries really damn hard. He makes her laugh. He obviously cares so much about Lora, but damn James won't flirt with her the way he flirts with everyone else!

Solana is hurt by this and thinks he's not attracted to her, but the truth is, James doesn't flirt with her because he respects her so much and really likes her. After a chat at the beach, they get on the same level and decide to sneak around, only they're about as discreet as a punch to the face, so Castis figures it out immediately, and helps them keep it quiet.

Garrus? He and Lora were my first Mass Effect OTP.

A BROTP I have with said character: For Solana, I'm going to go with Lora. I think Lora offers a lot of fresh perspective on Garrus, and Solana is grateful that Lora got her and Castis evacuated to her vineyard in Germany towards the end of the war, which wound up saving their lives.

With Garrus, I flout common convention in Shakarian fics and have him becoming really good friends with Kaidan. They're able to get past the awkwardness that resulted because Lora and Kaidan were briefly an item during the events of the first game, and Kaidan acts as Garrus' second-in-command while they're trapped out in space. They really lean on one another, and that sort of trust winds up leading to a close, lifelong friendship.

A NOTP I have with said character: With Solana, I don't think I really have one? I've never seen her shipped with anyone and thought, "oh, that's not for me", honestly.

I think it's the same for Garrus. I don't have any strong opinions in this regard, but maybe Kaidan because they're besties in my canon universe?

A random headcanon: Solana is two years younger than Garrus and partly because Garrus was off doing spirits only knows what at the time, she winds up taking a transfer so she can act as her mother's caregiver. She has a lot of bitterness surrounding this time in her life - she gave up a lot and then never did get the career she wanted back because of her injury during the war. It's something she seeks therapy about post-war, but she rarely speaks of her mother's illness with anyone but James and her therapist. It just hurts too much and she doesn't want to feel bitter and angry at her father and brother.

Garrus really loves the Blasto vids, and he'll claim it's genuine but part of it is because they annoyed the absolute hell out of his father when Garrus was a teenager.

General Opinion over said character: I've always appreciated seeing how people write Solana - we get so little about her in-game so she's a character people are really free to make their own. I also get a kick out of seeing whether she's the older or younger sibling in other people's universes.

I love Garrus and have a lot of appreciation for the unreliable narration we get from him, particularly regarding his actions on Omega. Things like the rest of his crew wanting to bail, and him continuing to push to get more done, because eventually he was always going to piss off the gangs enough for them to bring him down. What happened was unfortunately inevitable and I do personally prefer Garrus coming to see the grey in life and sparing Sidonis.

Also, Castis was right about Garrus and I will die on that hill. Yeah, Castis' manner sucked, but the dude knows his son.

vegaspete, as expected, ended up being my number one otp. so, of course, i need to talk about it for another two years minimum.

in this final episode, we start with vegas' "I won't let anything happen to Pete", which, yk, me, same feeling, same page. from the many thoughts I had previously had, some of which i shared (x) (x), i genuinely assumed/thought/expected something significant and powerful to happen during the final battle for vegaspete, something along the lines of either pete getting hurt and vegas losing his shit, or for gun to attempt to harm pete in some way and vegas taking that as the final straw and ending it. i wanted them to kill gun one way or another.

and yet, as this show does, i literally went so over their point that I traveled to saturn with my ideas and had to come back running to say thank you for missing the point. like, I didn't get a single thing right. and that's absolutely brilliant on boc's part.

so, not only did pete NOT get hurt, but they (vegaspete) quite literally shifted roles in all i had predicted. and it was SO good.

vegas' starts, to recapitulate, with "i won't let anything happen to pete", but not only does he never find himself in that position, but it is also actually pete the one running around after him to make sure he isn't, well, murdered. is just a funny lil tweak to their dynamic, or what i assumed would be their dynamic.

now we have pete running after vegas and finding him (each other) in the garage. they are alone. anything could happen. and as they do, my mafia men point their guns at each other. pete! raises his gun first with his finger on the trigger. vegas mimics him exactly. and not 8 seconds later, his gun is down again. vegas, head of the minor family, finds himself alone in a strange place with no backup, with a potential enemy (as bodyguard to the main family) pointing a gun to his head and a finger on the trigger and YET he lowers his gun. he stands in front of pete hurt, and let's be honest, defenseless because i'm certain pete is a great and fast shooter.

for a couple of seconds, it's just them. pete holding his gun up. vegas breathing heavily. and then three more guards show up. main family guards who, of course, immediately raise their guns to vegas. you can see pete panic for a second and make a decision the next.

pete shoots vegas. to protect him. let me repeat. PETE SHOOTS VEGAS TO PROTECT HIM. who in hell saw that coming? not me.

it's brilliant and so fitting. and i love it.

thanks to this, and moving on, vegaspete is alone again. and what happens next? pete jumps on vegas and beats the shit out of his face. and vegas fucking lets him! okay, yes, ik I just said he's weak, hurt, and just landed a bullet, but we know vegas could have stopped him. he does after a couple hits when he turns them over to be the one on top of pete. and what does vegas do? fucking apologize.

honestly, run me over with a truck, it would hurt less.

anyway, pete is not having his bullshit english apology, so he turns them over again and hits him. he's still holding the gun. but vegas is not. vegas has a hand wrapped on pete's collar, holding onto him, and the other is around somewhere as he lands a punch, but the next second he's moving it to pete's face. to hold him. a small loving caress. a simple soft touch.

y'all vegas is such a fucking stupid soft moron in love, i cannot deal !!!

as he's looking into pete's eyes, beat up and out of breath, tasting nothing but his own blood spilled by the man on top of him, vegas goes ahead and asks that if he's to die that day, he wants pete to do it.

because yeah what better fucking way to go than having the man you love kill you and the last thing you see be their eyes that you've grown so used to adoring even if in the distance and in silence because all you have is issues and baggage and even if you know you love this man the last thing you want is forcing your shit upon him, you actually just want him to be happy?? what is this sappy feeling? not something I'm used to, thinks vegas, but it's also kind of nice.

pete, understandably, is like bro, what are you mumbling now. I'm beating you up because you're being a fucking idiot and this is kind of my job, but do you think this pleases me? do you think I like being on opposite sites with you? you absolute deluded psycho. so he screams and asks. because pete actually likes communicating with words. the only mafia man to ever do so, vegas is so lucky.

anyway, back to this thing.

vegas is just lying there and his face is like a beautiful open book. sure he's in pain, but do you only see pain there? NO, you see longing, you see love, you see hope, you see a plea for forgiveness. the one thing not in vegas face is hate or thirst for pain. vegas mister sadist is not looking forward to someone else's pain, he's there kind of relinquishing his own (pain), and confessing feelings that he's been scared of for who knows how long. just the general map of feeling things is not a vegas thing. and yet, here we fucking are, in the middle of a nasty dirty full of dead bodies garage confessing feelings while the taste of copper travels down our throats.

yet, the most important part is what he says. "I love you, Pete." in Thai. In his mother tongue. Not in English. In Thai. we people who speak more than one language know this, but it is so much easier to show feelings in any language that's not your own. because using it makes it all feel much heavier and that's so fucking scary. and vegas, known for not being good with feelings nor expressing them, goes ahead and confesses he loves pete in thai with a smile on his face because he knows what he feels is real and tho scary, it also feels right.

honestly, please, again, run me over with a truck.

and then proceeds to pull pete in for a kiss. let's not mind all the blood. that's just a metaphoric symbol of their relationship. must we only feel pain in his house?

anyway, they kiss, pete is like, huh, this is fine, sure, for like a second, and then vegas pushes him from over him and runs away. pete kind of lays there for like 10 seconds, probably trying to figure out exactly what the hell just went on, and then you see he's like oh, OH! and then shoots running after his man. but wiping his mouth first because who needs their lover's blood all over when you could have them? frankly, king behavior.

this is legit so long, rox, get a grip of yourself, it's embarrassing.

and then we have the hidden room scene. vegas' father is dead. finally. and it wasn't vegas or pete. not even porsche. it was korn. we can discuss that somewhere else later.

vegas has a fucking breakdown in front of everyone. his papa? yeah, stab me in the neck, less painful. we know korn was a terrible dad. vegas knows too, but that doesn't mean his feelings for him aren't contradictory. he was his father after all. and it's not unusual for abuse victims to have some kind of bond with their abusers. vegas is a great example of that.

pete arrives, sees the scene, and his face says it all. that's the face of someone who's seeing their lover break, knowing there's nothing they can do about it. and it breaks my soul. that alongside vegas distress is just asking for trouble. trouble as in I'll need 35 to 100 business days to recover, thank you very much.

and vegas raises his gun to korn. before he even does, pete calls his name. it's a plea. please, vegas, don't do this. please, vegas, let's just leave. please, vegas, turn to me, come to me. please, vegas, I can't watch you die. because I'm not sure pete would have shot him. his moments aren't as precise as they usually are. his hands are somewhat shaky.

and then like 3 more guards come in and point their guns directly to vegas' head like 10 cm away. please, why so aggressive, we were having a moment here.

and then vegas leaves. and what happens? pete happens. that was so brilliant. all of it. i won't discuss it deeply and ruin it but omfg build really said, let me give y'all a masterclass. thank you.

pete resigns. he admits to his undying love and loyalty to the main family forever, but his personal feelings come first. he is more important than his job. he admits that to the family and more importantly, to himself. he gives himself permission to do what he knows his heart wants. what is right for him. he resigns and runs after vegas.

vegas, who genuinely thinks he's lost it all and has nothing left to leave. vegas is going to commit suicide. he would have. i believe he would if pete hadn't arrived when he did. but thankfully for everyone, pete arrives as vegas is taking in his last deep breath. and his voice alone makes vegas hesitate and lower the gun. sure, he's frustrated, but he's alive.

and throughout this whole scene, we have vegas giving his back to pete and pete confessing and opening up. personally, I choose to interpret this as vegas attempting to put up a wall between them again because he's terrified. so, maybe, if he doesn't look at pete, it won't be real. whatever he says. because as much as vegas clearly loves pete and wants nothing but to be with him, he's terrified of this kind of intimacy. these feelings. this... too much.

and yet another brilliant biblebuild scene because they don't do anything if not spoil us with otherworldly acting.

pete wants vegas to turn around. attempts to get him to do so by placing a hand on his arm but vegas flinches and shoves him away. vegas asks, why did you follow me? i got nothing left. so why in hell would you want anything to do with me? why would you want me? love me? want to be with me? is what he means. and pete goes ahead and hugs him from the back. vegas could've resisted further but he gives in. vegas gives in to pete and they end up on the floor.

and they both still have their guns on their hands and their fingers close to the trigger, but not ON it. call this progress.

vegas' voice simultaneously breaks and goes high yet quiet. broken. vegas is absolutely broken. the plan failed. he knows he is no longer anything to the family but a relative. he's not head of anything. his father is dead. his guards butchered. he's wounded. and lost. oh, so lost. and alone. but pete is right there? with him? and he is like, no, this is wrong. and shakes pete away again, recomposing himself as he stands up.

so pete is forced to just... talk. because vegas is deep in a hole and needs to get something through his head. he is not alone! vegas, I am here with you! again, fantastic because pete is a words man. and pete knows vegas is not. and he won't turn around. but that's okay, because pete knows vegas has another love language. food. so where does this get us? to our lovely safe house/torture room.

im not into the whole petplay ordeal, but for vegaspete? woof, bitch.

pete could've said don't turn your back on me because I love you, but i think and i believe pete knows this too and that's why we get the scene we get, that vegas will not accept that. someone love him? sounds viscerally heinous. impossible. no. pete must be lying.

so, pete being the smart person he is, reverts to what he knows vegas accepts and understands, something familiar now that he (vegas) insists all is lost.

Vegas, you can't leave because I'm hungry. and vegas fucking responds to that. are you very hungry? can someone else take you to eat? and pete is like? this fucking idiot? really? someone else? bitch, what do I look like? the farm's pony? no. how dare you try to push me away. ME. ME that you said you wanted to be with?

and through this you can see vegas' face. he knows. oh my stupid psycho knows. but will he break. will he give in to what his cold heart wants to warm up? i am hungry so i came to find my owner. turn to look at me vegas, please. oh he's breaking. yeah, you can see it on how he slowly straightens his back.

Vegas, you cannot turn your back on me and leave me alone because I'm hungry. Am I not your pet? Aren't you meant to take care of your pets? So do it, behave like the master you are, and take care of me. Because I am your pet and you're my owner.

i am yours. you are mine.

so after the final plea from pete, how vegas' name comes out of his lips so softly, so quietly, like it's a word meant to only be spoken in prayer, vegas fucking turns around.

and legit no offense but if anyone looked at me like that, i'd respectfully pass out.

and vegas turns around and pete's face lights up. he turned around! he understood! he knows! and vegas smiles. and all is well.

WELL NO. SOMEONE HAD TO COME RUIN IT BECAUSE WHAT IS VEGASPETE IF NOT PAIN AND DESPAIR.

and for a moment, you could think the one who lands the shots is pete. but no. it's vegas. vegas "I'm not going to let anything happen to pete" theerapanyakul. vegas who was so focused on keeping pete safe that forgot he himself can bleed.

and pete loses it. he really does. he turns to the man and doesn't hesitate a second to turn him into a strainer. as he should.

and then pete turns to vegas, who could honestly have fallen into the pool and that'd have been a disaster of its own. or not. and he whispers, and touches vegas as he falls to his knees. and here you can see so well then two blood stains on his white shirt. convenient shapes and placement. almost like two wings.

where's that truck, seriously. pain is all ik now.

and frankly, pete goes to vegas like a puppy who's owner collapsed. he's helpless. he's lost. his heart is breaking a little more every second vegas doesn't move or answer. he shoves him. please move, vegas, not you. and he crawls next to him. and lays his head on his chest, broken, shattered, feeling like he himself is dying. because if vegas is death, really, what does pete who has left behind his friend and the main family to leave with vegas have left? nothing.

we've all seen all those videos and stories of dogs whose owners passed away and remain where their graves are or by their beds until they die soon after.

but then, thank fucking satan because idk what i'd have done with myself and boc if that had been their end, vegas is alive! and pete is with him, by his bed as he recovers from the war they went through. and he's wearing light, soft, green colors. colors related to soothing (for the heart attack I almost had) and youthful (because vegaspete can start again and live their best domestic kinky lives without abusive parents), and hope. and green because that's just vegas color and all it incites that plenty of others have mentioned in other metas.

and they talk. of course im here vegas. you're not a burden to me, you could never be. i choose you. and you're not my pete anymore, pete, you're the most important person in my life. and he says this in thai. strong, deep feelings language!

pete's i want to follow my heart and vegas face about to have an ugly cry because he is what pete's heart wants. he! vegas! the one everyone dismisses. the one who has so much baggage! pete wants him. pete, this creature who's more of a fallen angel than he himself is a devil.

and i haven't cried this much in a while. because they are safe. they are together. they are happy.

and macau is there too. happy little found family. and I couldn't have asked for anything else.

I really appreciate the voting pools you are doing for every upcoming chapter:D. It gives me a taste of what I can look forward to the next chapter of Progression. I love this story so much. I fear that Korn will make some real trouble now. And hopefully he won't get between KhunArm too much. Because yes, Porsche won't have this ship ruined for him:DD. Also I think that Korn won't like developing VegasKinn ship either (i.e. power cousin combo). If that's something he will try to break (again), Chay won't have it. It's his OTP now and Korn won't ruin it. Your writing is amazing and I can't wait for more.

I'm glad you enjoy the voting polls! Meant to make this last one have a week limit but forgot to change it. But they are fun to compile and sometimes hold me to keeping certain plot points that I might delay otherwise.

Korn is...ugh. I will say that he loves his sons in his own way, but he values his own perception and control too highly to truly listen to them and adjust his own views and behavior. In this universe, I have Tankhun getting kidnapped at 17 years old. He was highly valued and Korn's pride and joy up until that point, and then was completely traumatized by everything that happened to him during his kidnapping. I think Korn's mixture of guilt and disappointment that he never bounced back from it made it so he distanced himself from his oldest and went lax on the level of support he needed back then. Khun changed so much from the experience, and I think that was not expected. But it also made Korn more controlling and protective of Tankhun in his own way. He has not viewed Tankhun as capable in a long time, and this extends to normal life milestones that Tankhun was robbed of. He has been so brave and productive these last few years, both secretively and not so secretively, and it has gone mostly unnoticed by close to everyone (except for Arm, and maybe Pol). It probably saddens him greatly, but he knows it has been for the best because the good developments might be halted by his father, should he find out. This upcoming chapter, he may be proven right. It's integral that he has everyone else in his corner at this point. His next steps need to be a strange mixture of bold, deliberate, but also very planned.

I mean, after all, he can't let Porsche down. ArmKhun is his OTP! I think if drama occurs with Korn, he is going to be a mixture of pissed off, supportive of his ship, and extremely involved. He wants them to stay together, and being an active player in making sure that happens will be interesting for him lol. As for Chay, I know he doesn't want the relationship between the cousins to be affected by Korn or his decision to step out of retirement.

The reconciliation with the cousins will probably be kept quiet for now, but I don't see Korn liking it much either, not unless he can keep an active eye on Vegas, Macau, Pete, and Fern. He has been comforted by the knowledge that they are busy with new ventures that don't really affect the major family's, and the fact that Vegas and Pete are busy with fatherhood might be a positive in his eyes. They won't risk the baby's welfare by stepping out of line, and the baby can be used as potential leverage if they do. I don't think it will come to that, but I think Vegas has no desire to get involved with Korn again for this reason, as well as the fact that he views Korn as the root of several different traumas.

I do hope to explore some of this in the new chapter! I am behind schedule right now due to two deadlines at work, but I am currently writing an emotionally charged conversation between Kinn and Khun now. It is way overdue and some resentments are coming out, but it will hopefully be good for them and their bond in the scheme of things! Thank you for the ask!

Ben awoke feeling well-rested—the first sign that something was off. As his eyes fluttered open, the brightness in the room was the second sign. 

Drawing a deep breath, he rolled over in the folds of Lee’s scarf, which had become his usual sleeping spot. His bleary vision struggled to make sense of the digital clock on the nightstand. 

He sat bolt upright when the time came into focus. 12:37 PM. 

Cursing, Ben looked from his spacious pillow to the rumpled sheets on the other side of the mattress. Lee was nowhere to be seen. Had he gone out for breakfast? It was afternoon, so why wasn’t he back? Had something happened? Was he dead?

“Lee?” Ben’s voice wobbled, weak from sleep. He shook life into his wings and flitted into the air. “Lee!”

As he flew into the common area of the suite, his next cry was cut short. Lee was lounging on the sofa, still in pajamas, twisting around to see Ben.

“Relax,” Lee said, looking at Ben like he was crazy. “What’s wrong?”

All the breath left Ben’s lungs in a heavy sigh. “_What’s wrong_?” He might have punched Lee’s nose if he weren’t so relieved. “Why didn’t you wake me?” 

“You’re always up first. Figured I’d let you sleep in.”

Frowning, Ben glanced between Lee and the wide-screen television, which was playing some action movie. Lee was just… sitting there. Watching TV. In the middle of the day. 

Ben glanced at the tall windows, drinking in the Strip in full daylight. He winced at a stab of guilt. He’d kept Lee waiting. “I’m sorry,” Ben said. “We should have been out there hours ago.”

Man, so many! I am very suggestible when it comes to ships and my friends are talented so it is very easy to draw me into things 😂 Some examples off the top of my head, mostly MP100 and World Trigger:

C - A ship you have never liked and probably never will.

YuuOsa and TachiJin come to mind... I LOVE both as platonic relationships, but I just... don't see Osamu or Tachikawa as someone Yuuma or Jin would be attracted to, respectively? And top Yuuma just isn't it for me. (I do actually own a single OsaYuu doujin... because the art was gorgeous and it had post-body-recovery Yuuma with his missing limbs and eye, which I am always down for, lmao.)

Azuma with his kids, especially Miwa/Koarai/Okudera - I just can't imagine him not being incredibly scrupulous about maintaining healthy boundaries with the teenagers under his care, and the alternate character interpretation of "predatory Azuma" that i've seen in a lot of the azumiwa/etc content is... extremely Not For Me.

It's not a huge ship, and basically nonexistent on the eng side of fandom, but Hyrein/Osamu still baffles me. Like, Osamu-fuckers chase ur bliss, etc, but Hyrein had SO LITTLE to say about Osamu personally compared to other Border agents he fought (Izumi, obviously, but even Miwa and Karasuma) that I just cannot imagine Osamu leaving any impression on him at all, let alone the obsessive villain/hero ship that has apparently spawned more doujins than haiizu no i'm not salty leave me alone

F - What’s the longest you’ve ever been in a fandom?

HMMM this is a really hard one to quantify since there are some fandoms that I tend to return to periodically, and often have like... one primary fixation but several running in the background that can still Activate me periodically. The longest individual fixations tend to be around 1.5-2 years (Transformers, Star Trek, Promare, and MP100 all reached that point) - but there are comfort fandoms that I circle back to repeatedly that have been in my life for decades (Star Trek and Pokemon are a couple of the major ones, and Ar Tonelico is a more recent example that hasn't quite hit a decade yet but shows no signs of going anywhere). And while MOST of my fic/art consumption and creative output is in Watori right now, I still would say I'm in MP100 fandom to some extent - I still buy shimateru/Claw-centric doujins when I see them, a lot of my friends are still active in the fandom, and I've got shimateru WIPs I hope to circle back to eventually. OTOH I don't really see myself returning to writing for Promare and don't currently have any interest in my older Star Trek WIPs, but I still like to rewatch both of them, I have no intention of selling any of the Promare merch that is in every room of my house, and I still love going to the Trek con in Vegas every couple of years and have some future cosplay plans... And you can still absolutely activate those parts of my brain if you talk to me about the Dominion or Kraylio, hahaha. It's very nebulous but I kind of like it this way! I like still feeling connected to my fandoms even after the intense hyperfixation phase has faded.

G - Have you ever had an OTP? If so, do you remember your first one? Who was in it?

I always have one or two Big Fav Ships in any given fandom, but I've always been a multishipper also, so "true" OTPs are a little rarer. I remember Ishihime in Bleach being one of the first non-canon ships I felt pretty strongly about, and disliking Ichihime as a result, but I also liked Ulquihime a lot, so... lmao. The first truly exclusive OTP I can remember might actually be Han'Gerrel/Zaal'Koris from the original Mass Effect trilogy, which was incidentally also the beginning of my shift from primarily-het shipper to primarily-gay shipper hahah.

I think in my mind, something qualifies as an OTP if it's like... the True Ending in my mind, even when I also enjoy other ships. Like- in MP100, Shimazaki and Teru just Are Together, even though I also sometimes enjoy other ships involving them like touishima, shimamine, riteru etc - those other ships just always are "relationship history" or "alternate timeline" in my head, and I never really imagine them long-term in the same way.

Hi Anon, thank you for the ask, and your patience! I've been neglecting my asks, but not today! lol

I do have some Taang headcanons! Believe it or not, they were my OTP back in the day, and they still have a special place in my heart :) But enough chatting. Let's talk about headcanons!

I like to think of Toph and Aang as the people in the Gaang that get together last, but they somehow end up married first (that is, in a Zutara/Sukka/Taang universe lol). They deny their feelings for quite a while because they're best friends, but then they can't ignore it anymore and they start to date! And then a month or so later, they end up married (kind of a What Happens in Vegas vibe haha!) But Toph and Aang are rather chill about this, and they just move on as a married couple LOL.

They settle in Republic City, mostly because they like the area and because they are prominent figures in getting the city up on its feet.

I like to HC that they have four oops kiddos haha! All were happy accidents, and the dunebaby names are Lin, Gyatso, Suyin, and Kenji. The girls are earthbenders, and the boys are airbenders. The babies are pretty spread out, but I like to think that Lin and Su are still born in 120 AG and 126 AG respectively. Helps me keep track of the timelines haha!

The Beifongs have a very busy and hectic life, but Toph and Aang always find the time to be with their family and to travel around the world. As the kids get older, they take them on Avatar business trips more often than not. But when they were little, Toph and Aang typically left them with their grandparents. They liked having their work trips and family trips separate as much as possible in the beginning.

Aang and Toph aren't big on PDA, but I like to think Toph's love language is touch, so she'll often stand close to Aang so their arms touch, or she'll pat his hand or lean her head on his chest for a second. Aang definitely likes to prolong these moments lol.

Aang is an early riser, and Toph isn't. But she's a light sleeper, so even though Twinkletoes gets out of bed quietly, she knows that he's awake and she finds it hard to fall back asleep without Aang there. So she's usually up with him, albeit a lil grumpy lmao.

Aang and Toph are the fun uncle and aunt. They like to wreak a bit of havoc and convince the steambabies or bladebabies that breaking the rules is okay LOL. The other members of the Gaang get a bit of a headache whenever Auntie Toph and Uncle Twinkletoes visit, but they are grateful for a bit of parenting reprieve.

They don't argue with each other much. Well, they do, but it's typically about things that aren't that important. They did argue a bit early on with some of Aang's responsibilities and him splitting his time at home and out working, and it's typically a battle for Aang to have Toph open up to him, but over the years they've been able to figure out a pretty good way to communicate with one another and talk through these issues.

Aang loves to cook, and Toph loves to eat! But whenever she has a hankering for meat, they agree to go out to eat. Sometimes, Aang will cook the main dish and Toph orders a side of meat from some nearby restaurant lmao. That, or Sokka's in town and he cooks the meat while Aang cooks the veggies haha!

What are you hoping / wanting / etc to see from the KP finale? If there is a S2, what do you hope for?

Hmmm, I'm a sucker for happy endings. I'm a hopeless romantic, so I only like to see definitively happy endings. Ambiguous endings aren't that bad but I wouldn't want to see that for any of my faves or OTPs. I know some people like angsty or sad endings, but I am not one of those people. My heart is too sensitive and soft for such a thing.

In the short term, I want to see Kinn and Porsche ride off into the sunset together honestly. Which essentially means I want to see the best, happy mafia alternative/version of that because I'm not naïve enough to believe that that ending is even possible for these two considering the circumstances. So, whatever happy mafia alternative of this ending is available is good for me for the finale. They fight the bad guys, they win, and then they reconcile. Do the Dads die in this scenario? Maybe, maybe not. I actually get a kick out of how awful they are to their sons. It's pretty entertaining to watch.

In the long term (and possibly in a s2 if there is one), I want Kinn and Porsche to get to a better place where they learn to admit that their mutual trust is present. Both of them have a tendency to lie through their teeth when it comes to the trust thing and it grinds my gears. We know you guys trust each other, so why lie? I honestly don't want Porsche to be Kinn's bodyguard anymore; it's not like he'd be able to do so anyway, because Kinn refuses to let him do his damn job. Kinn is not going to let Porsche take a bullet for him. It's just not gonna happen, so how can he be his bodyguard? However, I need there to be some sort of middle ground where Porsche is still a part of this world but also kind of not. I want Porsche to still be included in said mafia discussions and choices but I don't want him to be an active part of it. I don't know what Porsche could do, but that's how I feel about it. Yes, I know there's another thing that happens in the novel that he could do but I'm not even sure I want that for him to be honest.

I don't want them to completely leave the mafia world because there's power in being apart of that world. Kinn is able to do what he does because he's apart of it, so I don't want them to completely abandon that part. Kinn is able to offer Porsche protection because of who he is, and I think it's important for them to keep that layer of protection there because it benefits both Porsche and Chay. They need to learn how to alter their identities in that world to suit their relationship and not the other way around; their relationship is solid, but it's when they remember who they need to be in that world that causes the issues in their relationship. Kinn needs to learn how to find the compromise between being cold mafia prince and loving boyfriend and Porsche needs to continue leaning into his newfound darkness while also allowing himself to be loved by Kinn. He's already halfway there; we just need Porsche to actually grasp the concept that they need to be these other people to survive in that world. Which I think he's starting to understand if this last episode is anything to go by.

Porsche has decided that he doesn't mind darkening his soul and his heart to find out the truth about his family and to keep Kinn. He wants to keep both, and Porsche has drawn a line in the sand when it comes to his priorities and who he considers to be expendable and who he doesn't. I've come to the conclusion that Porsche may be more ruthless and heartless than Kinn. At least Kinn still somewhat cares about other people, but Porsche doesn't even seem to care at all. Porsche cares about Chay and Kinn, and that's it.

Porsche sold out Pete to Vegas to get what he wanted, and he didn't care about what it would do to Pete. It's a crazy world we live in, isn't it? That's wild to think about. Porsche is willing to sell everyone else out, except for those two. I'm shocked! I've read various metas about it, and I've been convinced otherwise in regards to how I feel about what Porsche did. I was looking at him running off with Vegas all wrong, and I can see it in a new light now. He was using Vegas as the scapegoat. He's the fall guy, and I didn't even see it before. I stand by what I said that he's still putting some level of trust in Vegas to not screw him and his plans over. I did not change my mind about that part. That was still a pretty risky decision, and we will see what happens as a result of that in the next episode.

Porsche is finally going through his evolution and we need Kinn to reach out and help Porsche accept and handle this new change. That's what I want. These are all my hopes and wishes, but I doubt they're going to have that much time. Yes, it's a longer episode (by their standards), but I'm uncertain of how much time they're truly going to have. A lot of this stuff could be saved for a s2, if there is one.

Apart from being funny, I do think their relationship has real emotional depth to it because even though they're both too bro-ey (and not emotionally intelligent enough lbr) to ever talk about it, Alexei does fill a void in Kate's life. Derek is a piece of shit and Alexei stands up and stands in. Sure, they're idiot drunk best friends but he's also very much the dad Kate wishes she had.

I lost the plot for Porsche and Kinn's arc, nothing makes sense to me about them. Like really, nothing.

But Vegas Pete on the other hand. I loved everything, even though they got measly screentime, I absolutely loved all of it. They are my new OTP!!

It's just I can't understand Kinn and Porsche's reaction to Pete's resignation. Like why do they look so disappointed, let down, critical, and plain judgemental about Pete deciding what he wants to do?

Pete has given his life for you guys, he has done everything for you, never asked for anything in return other than his designated salary, and then you guys have this reaction when he says he wants to follow his heart?! wtf

Least Favorite character: Honestly can't think of one! To be honest, ASO is not one of my favourite D20 seasons and very few of the characters really stood out to me enough to say that I truly dislike them.

5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): The Wurst I don't think I could name 5 ships I really found compelling this season, but I guess I have a vaguely soft spot for Barry Syx/Skip?

Character I find most attractive: Ronnie Kwan

Character I would marry: None of them

Character I would be best friends with: Gunthrie!

a random thought: Kudos to Siobhan for having Riva leave at the end, it takes real confidence as a D&D player to know exactly who your character is and where they're going on the journey and when it's time for them to move beyond the narrative.

An unpopular opinion: No offence for people who really like this season, I just find it one of D20's weaker seasons in terms of story cohesion, character development, and overall setting fatigue. The character concepts are cool, but it kind of felt like they were so caught up in the cool setting that they spent a lot of time pursuing a bunch of different threads? Which is fine if you want a more open-sandbox campaign, but then they tried to tie all the threads together in the last third of the season and it didn’t really feel like it came together cohesively.

Most Badass Character: You have to hand it to Margaret Encino, she's on top of shit!

Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): Norman Takamori. Zac salvaged it at the end there, but his treatment in the campaign was really a let down.

The first time I see Yvette was on Wrath season 1 I see a manipulative,spiteful and bitter woman who was unable to let go of her past but while playing on Fire Emblem Three houses I read those comment on Edelgard(by the way if you love in slightest way Yvette YOU WILL LOVE EDELGARD!):Edelgard is dislike not because of her actions,not because of what she does or doesn't but because she is a very complex that can easily misunderstoond so 3/4 people are willfully ignorant or just not interested in looking closer. They accept what Rhea tells them as facts instead to take a lens and analyze Edelgard(By the way Edelgard x Fbyleth are my OTP!) since the biggest barrier most fans not wanting to feel like they have “chosen wrong” and to feel they are righteous and unbiased. So I've decide to give Yvette a try after I've finished Wrath s1(since it bored me,don't worry after Yvette I'll do Wrath reaction) and I like her since to quote her she is a very complex character:

The " first time" I see really her was on the show as the summary of her first season states:

and its true with few words and gesture she lures MC(and ME) on rabbit down the hole* and start to see multi- that is Yvette Holte and I will use her Love story with MC start+ some of her actions on the following to avoid spoiler for those didnt go further season 1=

At first a she see a cute innocent woman whom she can't help herself but teasing mc and suggest to not esitate and be embarrassed by her desire to reach for what(Hotness,flirtation🤤😏) but when mc chase her to say hello and ask her name but she mistake Yvette and Vinca situation being captured by mafias(we're on Las Vegas after all) go to her rescue and inadvertently caught her in the act to punish a demon for his failure(capture Vuzgamad ? Innocent and good civilian caught in the crossfire ? I dunno😅) leaving Yvette stunned and out of control for the first time ever(vulnerability) so she forced to put an Indy ploy* to give mc a way out by saying she's illusion and mc caught them in the middle and she gifted with a ticket both as apologize for the scare and thanks for her goodness and bravery for her will to rescue a stranger from thugs if necessary(and the secret hope to meet MC again[showing both her soft and good side not wanting mc being caught in a mess simply she saw women in need of rescue] and vulnerabity wanting to meet her as woman not as sin assassin),

so we see at the deadly sin show and Vinca and Lazareth caught a true jerk that deserve punishment (he steal funds for poor and buy cars you jerk!),she show me both her cynism and ruthless in try to punish by ask the public how to punish him and hyped them up their greedness for punishment but when mc show up and rescue the jerk by taking his place Yvette is both surprise and elated to see her again(ruthless,cruel and punisher of evil; sweetness,vulnerabity and softness for good people and Cripples, Bastards, and Broken Things and anyone in need this is why even at her worst she keep up with her duty*) she and mc and enjoy for the first time the show(sparkling the light that Yvette believe to have to have lost in the darkness that is her life and starting to fall in love with MC)

Then at date she talk with a demon who work for her but since mc has no clue about demon,assassin and crazy stuff she mistaken Yvette for a Mafia woman and the demon for a henchwoman and after mc surprised her with bravery,intelligence and being cute(showing Yvette ruthless,darkness to the demon and the protective,sweet,soft and good side to MC by keeping her safe and good).

After the dinner in which Yvette introduces mc to her crazy world by gifting her "The Sight" and we her philosophy and how she keeps the world safe from being enslaved by demons again:

Keep it away from the innocent,cripples, bastards, and broken things by keep the bad and the evil on thigh leash! Like the ouroboros.

Since there is no future for demons or they work for protect humans with her or they die and a less demon who can harm or worst kill a human really poetic and byronic(By the way she meant Vuzgamad with the demon currently work for)

and show her protective side by scolding Vinca given she was mean to MC since Day 1* and remind her and us reader that MC is woman whom she and will can do everything

and more important she can think for herself(showing how well she read people) and apologize for the rough evening and the fact that while Yvette is used to this Mad Wonderland but MC not so Vinca reveal to mc that Yvette she likes her(so Vinca being a shipper and show us that her feelings for mc are slowly became genuine:like,the need to see her) and to give Yvette a try!

So when Vuzgamad appear to threaten to kill her because since Yvette meet mc,she slowly and surely reawakened her dying light,love and hope so Yvette goes ballistic on her and while protect mc with all her heart and we know another side of her bitterness,mystery,self-loathing and self-hatred and doesn't believe that she deserve MC(Her light,her love her everything....ad I'm going fast forward again😂) and after they escaped Vuzgamad she promise to show the woman behind the illusion and after the while ordeal Yvette show us again her good and soft side by checked and fretting over mc ad blamed herself about Vuzgamad,despite that Vuzgamad is absolutely unpredictable and fiercily promise mc that she will always protect mc and when MC ask her to come with her to check on Joyce(mc mother) and she does keep her word and answer was going on Yvette

MC:What Vuzgamad meant she made you?

This....is the first time she's genuinely broken,hurt like a lost puppy both MC and me wish to hug her and lash out at everyone who wish to harm her

Yvette:I have ... history with demons since I was little...

MC:did you seek them?

Yvette then makes an expression of a kicked pup 😥

I never seeked evil😡.... they found me😥 and since then it nevel left me and I'm at war,deal with it every day,I have to survive(I Never Asked For This...*)

So when Yvette see MC and Joyce being a heartwarming family❤ she's overwhelmed by all of this and show us the broken,lonely who have nothing but despair and bitterness thanks to Vuzgamad

That she run away from all of this.
