Denying yourself small joys doesn't do anything to help injustice or pain in the world. There's not some psychic reservoir somewhere where all of our collective attention and energy gets stored, where tapping into it to watch a show or read a book or go for a walk to see nature instead of news for a while siphons empathy away from terrible instances of crisis and tragedy.

Let yourself have little joys, and recognize that they matter. You're not going to single-handedly heal mass atrocities or resolve them any faster by denying yourself a break from horror. All you'll do is exhaust yourself.

Pitch: A minisode in Good Omens 3 taking place during the Ten Plagues. Aziraphale is helping Moses by miracling up a swarm of frogs in the Nile, ready to leap out and go a-teeming all over the land. Crowley appears over his shoulder, squints at the permit from Heaven, and after the usual exchange of "God isn't really planning to go ahead with all this, is she?" points out that the wording is 'frog' singular and not 'frogs' plural. A Sleeping Beauty dress-esque scene ensues where Crowley keeps miracling all the little frogs into one big Godzilla frog and Aziraphale keeps miracling them back again. By the end of the minisode, it's still not clear who won the argument and which frogs they ended up going with, but we later see the permit in the background of the bookshop under a porcelain frog paperweight.

#mildly tearing out my hair because i got and accepted the job offer last week but they still haven't sent me the letter of employment! #'cause i requested to start one day later because i have a family issue on the original day they wanted me to start #and they said that should be fine but they need to rearrange some things with their coworkers #(since it's an auxiliary position and my first few weeks are training so they need to find someone to train me on the other day) #and i haven't heard back since! #ahhhhh i know i got the job but i just want the paperwork to come through and make it official pretty please
