January 9 is Vivi’s birthday \;w;/ The date’s cheeky, it’s when I reached ShB on him ingame. A year ago. JUST A YEAR. No other oc of mine had such an intense development process. I wanted to try writing a disaster, and, well....
Lemme have today as an excuse to ramble about his influences. Of course I didn’t merely lump these together, I kept realizing the likeness as time went on.
The concentration of unhinged blondies and literal idols is past the critical level, take cover, it’s gonna blow.
Spoiler warning for everything.
Anarchy Panty
Tumblr media
Because his full name’s Vivien Fucksalot Rell x’D A good number of their tropes match perfectly.
This speech could as well be copypasted into his final battle with Emet:
Panty: You're right, I'm just a little bitch and I'm proud of it. But guess what, douchebag? That's not the point. News flash, I don't need special fucking powers to beat the shit out of you. You know why? Because I'm a bitch who doesn't give a fuck. You and your half-dead face can preach about hymens and demons and other weird words that supposedly mean shit, but that doesn't change the fact that if any of you fuckers get in my way, I'm gonna kick some twisted-ass ass. You hear me dick? I'm a hot bitch angel named Panty. And no matter what anyone says, I DO WHAT I FUCKING WANT!
Princess Ai
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
An edgy fashion icon that I'm still in love with. Brainstorming the visual styles for Vivi, I simply decided to indulge as hard as I can.
Howl
Tumblr media
Howl gets his redemption arc, Vivi, uh.... Surprise, the entire ShB part of Fragments is his redemption arc of sorts. But he exists outside ShB as well. He’s not meant to be a goody two shoes. But hey, his drama queen moments are entertaining to watch.
Raha has a lot of Howl in his character too. With Vivi, he’s basically this, except he doesn’t swallow him.. Okay he does but in a different way *kicked*
Tumblr media
Arataka Reigen
Tumblr media
Because I’m physically incapable of writing a classic hero.
Vivi has a complicated relationship with his career and a pragmatic approach to most things in life. He also prefers words to violence, will fight only if that fails.
When confidence and persuasion carry so hard you don’t really need anything else. Vivi firmly believes in everything he says and does. He doesn’t derive any fucked up joy from being right, but he knows as a fact that he IS right.
Sakuma Ryuichi
Tumblr media
Duality my beloved \o/ And dorkiness. Other than that, Ryuichi doesn’t have as much influence on his character, but the visuals?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I mean I literally use this shirt and necklace as an easter egg/homage. Gravitation triggered my queer awakening in the faraway 2006, might as well give it the acknowledgement it deserves.
And, lastly, the he.
Tumblr media
What else do you expect from a character tailored for a ship \o/
Short. Sassy. Dorky. Gremlin. All of their direct likeness stems from ARR, while the more subtle parallels and extreme opposite values form later.
If Raha’s eccentric, Vivi takes that just a tad bit further, simply because he’s always been allowed to.
What Raha keeps repressed, buried deep down, Vivi embraces in full. He’s an unruly, effervescent spark of life, he’s meant to be Raha’s “manic pixie dream boy” according to tvtropes, to slowly lure him out of his shell and teach him confidence, the joy of living, and find a way to stop him from killing himself over and over again.
Words of praise and affirmation have no effect on them. Both are competent in some field, but never brag about it. While Raha has a severe imposter syndrome, Vivi knows he’s cool as a fact, which still doesn't mean he loves or values himself as he should. He just acknowledges and uses his status for his own benefit as openly as the world keeps using himself.
Destiny (affectionate) and destiny (derogatory).
Raha’s The Adult (tm) Vivi needs to stay somewhat stable. This’s the reason they don’t quite get along in ARR yet, Raha must go through that century of suffering that, despite all common sense, refines him into something delightful, Vivi must go through HW-SB to realize his priorities in life and frankly get fucked up enough to form a perfect chemistry with Exarch.
Raha has a moral compass that he may adjust at will, Vivi has none at all. How much more questionable would they be if they weren’t cute and charismatic :’D
They’re feisty and competitive towards each other, Raha especially so. Vivi has a red cloth effect on him. Forever wrestling for that imaginary control (yep, in bed too). On the emotional side, it’s forever “you matter, I don’t”. They’re mirrors of each other, reflecting some parts as they are, twisting others in most peculiar ways.
Vivi literally wouldn’t exist without Raha, both ic and ooc. So I daresay Raha has the most influence on his character, at the same time he’s his own guy enough to stay interesting. I’m so proud of him. I’m holding him by the scruff and helplessly shaking him in the air.

In the Jaune is Hades AU will Jaune ever tell his team and RWBY he's a god? And what exactly can Jaune do while on Remnant?
"DAMMIT! DAMMIT!" Jaune ran as hard as he could towards the tower. Towards where he last saw her. At this moment, nothing else mattered. Not the White Fang. Not the Grimm. Not the innocent souls he would have to sort. The only thing that mattered was her.
'Don't worry.' Weiss' voice played in his head. 'We'll help her.'
How could she? How could anyone? Nothing escaped death. Not even Ozpin could.
He reached the tower, and a shade slowly crept towards it. Jaune held out his hand, and the entity stopped. With a wave, the shadpw retreated back to the burning city. Back to where the rest of hell waited for him.
Jaune sat himself down against the stone wall and let out a deep breath. His true form, invisible to mortal eyes, stood above his corporeal disguise. Reaching out to the top of the tower, he lifted himself high, higher and higher into the air until he reached the ruins of what was once Ozpin's office.
He watched in horror as his worst fears were confirmed. He could see Pyrrha's soul, his best friend's soul, the soul of the woman who threw herself upon him only moments ago, and it was fading. Her time was running out.
"Do you believe in destiny?" Jaune's fist tightened.
"Yes." In a foolish attempt, Jaune ran forward, hoping to stop the deathblow.
But even gods bent to their laws.
"No..." Jaune's voice broke, reaching for Pyrrha's fading soul. The least he could do was bid her good-bye. Welcome her embrace into his and guide her to the afterlife that she truly deserves.
But this was not to be.
Pyrrha's soul splintered, fracturing into smaller pieces. Like embers of a dying flame. A hand reached through his body and he watched her blow away. He barely caught her dying words as she soul faded.
"Jaune...?"
Everything went white around Jaune.
---------------------------------------------------
Jaune awoke from his trance, shaking his memories of that horrible night free from his mind. He had spent most of the morning "training" with Ruby, Nora, and Ren. Said training consisted of video games, exercising, and cooking new Mistrali recipes, respectively. Meanwhile, Qrow lay across from him on the couch, a flask of alcohol Jaune wished stayed empty.
"What time is it?" Jaune looked to the clock. Four in the afternoon. Almost time to get things ready for dinner. Standing with a stretch, he walked towards the kitchen.
But stopped when he noticed something. Someone.
There was a knock at the door. It was small, feeble. A child's knock. Jaune felt his mouth go dry as Qrow awoke and answered the door. To the partially sober man, Qrow saw a young teenager who looked barely old as Ruby. To the god of souls, Jaune saw two souls living inside one body. And one of them was too familiar.
"What do you want, kid?" Qrow asked. "You lost, or somethin?"
"Um, h-hello, sir." The boy's voice cracked. "Um, my name is Oscar and, uh, I was told to come find you."
"Oh, yeah? By who?"
"Who is it, Uncle Qrow?" Ruby called as she descended the stairs with Nora.
"An old mentor." The voice changed. "And an older friend."
"Wait, is that-?" Nora began to ask, but didn't finish as a blond blur rushed past Qrow.
"YOU BASTARD! YOU SICK, EVIL, INSANE BASTARD!" Jaune roared at the man guised as a child. "YOU SWORE YOU WOULD NEVER DO THIS! YOU GAVE ME YOUR WORD!"
"HEY!" Jaune turned to see Qrow pointing his gun at him, with Ruby and Nora behind him, looking on in fear. "Put. The kid. Down."
Jaune set the boy down. Ozpin dusted his body off and let out a sigh. "My apologies, Mister-"
"Lord Jaune." He growled. "You don't get to use that name anymore."
Ozpin nodded and walked past, retreating to the house. He could feel their eyes on him, but none made an effort to approach him. Instead the door shut behind him and he heard the lock latch to keep them all safe.
He couldn't blame any of them.
He never flew into such a rage before. Not once in Jaune's existence has pushed him to a point where he would physically attack someone. Leave it to Ozma to push said boundaries. But even so, his rage was justified, wasn't it? Before, Ozma's vessels had all been adults, mortals who had married with children and spent their lives dedicated to a craft to the benefit of their community.
Ozma swore to the god that he'd never inhabit the body of a child. And oaths to divine beings were never to be taken lightly.
"Jaune?" He turned to find Ruby standing next to him. "Are you okay?"
Jaune looked at her. Her silver eyes cut into him, thinking back to a distant time when he last met a silver-eyed warrior. More than 200 years ago. And yet she was the first he met since. He needed to learn the truth about what happened to the others, but to find this truth, he need honesty. And honesty, was a two-way street.
"Jaune?"
"I'm a god."

Tale of the Yokai Liveblog
I'm sleep deprived this morning, lets hope I'm coherent.
Okay they're still in the past and fighting ninjas, oh hey Splinter's Guys.
"The Hamato Clan don't exist anymore" Shut up Raph you're TIME TRAVELLING
Oh okay. I don't know much about Yokai but like, are they evil? Why're the Hamatos instantly thi- HOLY SHIT YOUNG SHREDDER
Why would Saki know? He's like. 20 here?
YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY they're out of the stupid costumes
Oh okay it's only 16 years ago, so he's probably more round his 30's. But still why did they one guy think Saki would know?
Raph is right, Renet did this.
WHY ARE YOU TRYING T FIND SPLINTER IN THE PAST WHAT THE HELL
Pfffff "They were small green men in strange costumes" "Saki did you find that mushroom patch again"
Oh god... was Young Splinter... a smarmy punk? Whoa, dude.
Whoa whoa whoa, wait- Yoshi's instant dismissal of Saki... kinda reminds me of how the others treat Mikey?
Yeah listen to your dad, There's Lots Of Shit Out There.
Yoshi is kinda a turd, actually.
Oooooh okay interesting, so Saki thinks Yoshi's marriage to Tang Shen is for practicality over love? Interesting layer to this, I enjoy it. Also, the fact that he says Yoshi always dismisses him is again giving me How They Treat Mikey vibes.
I enjoy seeing this Pre Fire dynamic to be sure, and I'm sure this episode's purpose is to introduce us to Tang Shen as a person and not just A Fridged Character, but I kind of wish this had been further back and we could have seen Yoshi and Saki in their days of being close to each other. Maybe even being the same age as The Turtles. I think it would add a lot of depth to what's going on in their present times, freshen up the dynamic a little. The Turtles could meet an Oruko Saki who could have been their Uncle, if he just hadn't let jealousy and rage blind him and control him so badly. And then they have to go back and face Shredder again, now with knowledge of what stupid jokes he enjoyed as a teen.
It's true though, Just Berries is bad for anyone, not just turtles.
I like that Donnie isn't dismissive of the idea of destiny.
AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW BABY KARAI man that picture Splinter has in his room does Baby Karai dirty, she's actually pretty cute
Tang Shen said "Fuck Tokyo, I want Diseases and Rats and Bad Healthcare. Better than Ninja shit."
Dudes this is totally a Scrooge and his girlfriend from Muppet's Christmas Carole moment. Tang Shen is about to start singing about how The Love Is Gone
I see both points, Splinter wants to uphold a dying tradition that he was raised in his whole life, but Tang Shen is right that it seems like a bad environment to grow up in. We saw clear evidence that The Hamato Clan don't hold back in sparring, something Splinter obviously continued to embrace when it comes to training The Turtles, which implies that the sparring for children is just as ruthless. Which as we all know, uh... isn't the best for their development.
OH TANG SHEN YOU WANTED MIWA TO ESCAPE THIS LIFE AND SHE ENDED UP IN IT ANYWAY OH THIS IS AWFUL
She's always taken care of herself? That's so interesting. I wonder what Karai, and even The Turtles, would have been like if Tang Shen had lived. Like, she wanted to move to America, so what if she and Yoshi were both out getting the turtles when The Kraang showed up? What if Yoshi followed them and she followed him trying to convince him to stop because he promised to stop with the Ninja stuff? What if they were both mutated, and had to raise Karai alongside The Turtles? It'd cause a massive rift in their marriage for sure, I feel like it'd be sort of like Toriel and Asgore. Splinter would still love her and want to keep trying, but she's kind of given up hope with him, especially when he decides to start training the kids.
Maybe she balances them out a bit more. She values independence, clearly, so I guess it's possible she'd take Miwa and leave, but where else would she go as a mutant? And would she feel comfortable leaving The Turtles to be raised just by Yoshi, knowing he has many very Traditional Values and will be training them The Hamato Way? If she stayed, would she take on the role of their mother as well, or reserve that part of her life just for Miwa and only try to mitigate what Yoshi trains them in out of a sense of duty to these children her daughter is growing up to love and see as siblings?
If she did stay as their mom, how would that affect the way the boys grow up? Would she be more understanding of their mental health struggles, and have more modern and informed advice about it than Splinter does? Would she make it a goal of hers to make sure the boys are more independent than they are in the show, and know that there's many solutions to problems and paths of wisdom in the world, not just the ones known by The Hamato Clan?
It's a fascinating concept but I need to cut it off there because I'm only 7 minutes through the episode.
Well you guys ate worms for years so that parts fine but, the mud sauce? Mikey no.
OH TANG SHEN MEETS TURTLES oh noooo Miwa is crying already
OH NO OH NO THEY'LL THINK THE TURTLES WERE ATTACKING HER, OH NO SAKI THINKS SHE WAS BEING ATTACKED
Okay a little intense Saki
HEY HEY DONNIE BADASS MOMENT WITH THAT BLOCK
Donnie is right, messing with time is bad, but... at least give him an extra scar.
Oh shit, Saki and Shen already dated once?!?!?!?!?! And he ruined it somehow... I mean I can guess how, he was probably one of those "Abuses in an angry outburst and then makes excuses after" kinda guys.
OH YOSHI SAW THE ATTEMPTED HOMEWRECKING
WAIT WAIT WHY DID THEM SCARING TANG SHEN MAKE CASEY DISAPPEAR?!?!?!? THAT BETTER JUST BE BECAUSE OF THEM NOT EXISTING IN THE FUTURE IT'S WHACK IF CASEY IS ERASED FORM EXISTANCE FIRST
Whoa whoa, convince her that he's evil? Guys, I don't like this. He doesn't seem evil yet, just... on the path. Are they the ones that cause him to take the final step down that path?
OH SHIT YOSHI V SAKI
Ohhhhh he almost grabbed the sword, okay so yeah he is already kinda a bitch.
Oooooh "You are brothers, act like brothers!" Oh geez... ow...
SORRY SORRY DO THEY PLAN ON ACCOSTING HER AGAIN?!?!?!?!
THIS WAS A TERRIBLE PLANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN Mikey the '87 song won't help- oh okay nevermind, I stand corrected
Ooooh wait that's cool, I mean I thought her name sounded Chinese so it's cool that she is. AWWWW BABY MIWA PULLING ON LEO'S MASH STRINGS AWWWWWWWWW
Mikey stop biting the table
MIKEY SHE MAD EYOU FOOD BE NICE TO HER AND DON'T GIVE HER THAT LOOK, WHERE ARE YOUR MANNERS THIS IS SO RUDE
Boys, um... you're kind of stripping her agency away... like I know, I know, but you can't say "Stay with Yoshi," just say "Look, Oruko Saki is bad news, even if he's kind now there's a darkness in his heart that has the great potential to blind him. We've seen fire, all-consuming, and great loss of life and light of the spirit. The path he's on bodes poorly for all involved in this situation, and we see him making a choice that will lead to misery."
Shen. I have an idea. ... Leave them both. I'M SORRY SPLINTER OKAY BUT YOU'RE KINDA ABSENT DADDING THIS UP AND LIKE, EITHER RESPECT YOUR WIFE'S WISHES OR SHE'S GOTTA HIGHTAIL IT OUTTA THERE MAN
Shen did you not- did you not hear them say they're gonna kill someone?
Yeah see, just warn Shen that Saki has a darkness, a deep need for vengeance, and that it will destroy him and all he loves, including her.
Hey wait Oruko Saki has the same backstory as Loki in the MCU.
OH SHIT THE FIRE- OH SHIT OH SHIT does this mean his name should be Foot Saki now?
HEY WHOA WHAT THE FUCK WHAT ARE RAPHA ND DONNIE DOING WHY ARE THEY POSING LIKE THAT IT LOOKS SO CREEPY XD GUYS WHAT ARE YOU DOING ARE YOU BEING CREEPY ON PURPOSE?!?!?!
Oh whoa, three prongs on the Shredder Claws? Cool!
Oh? Yoshi making up for it? YEAH YOSHI YOU HAVE A WIFE AND DAUGHTER not to say that like wanting to uphold your dying father's legacy is bad but YOU HAVE MORE THAN JUST THAT
Yeah dude Oruko Saki is like. Loki.
Oh okay so the boys are being creepy on purpose, okay got it. This is fun, they should do this "Unhinged Spirits" thing more often.
Hey why can Donnie climb his staff like that
Steal their souls through their butt? Leo... honey...
PFFFFFFFFFFF DONNIE WHAT THE HELL HOLY SHIT DUDE XD YOU SHOULD PULL THIS FREAKY HANDSTAND AND LAUGHTER OUT WAY MORE OFTEN I'D SHIT MYSELF IF THAT CAME AT ME IN A FIGHT
This episode should have seen them in their Vison Quest gear, right? Yeah I'm right.
Oh good Raph called out the Butt thi- wait does it actually come from real Japanese legend?
OH NO THE FIRE
Wait but how will Tang Shen be caught in this?
DUDE THIS RIGHT IS SO INTENSE- DUDEEEEE THIS IS SO DRAMATIC AND EPIC
NOOOOOOOOOOO SHEN IS PULLING A TADASHI FROM BIG HERO 6 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
SHE LEFT MIWA UNDER A CHAIR?!?!?!?!?!?!
Oh wow, burn resistant boys?
HOLY FUCK SHREDDER SHREDDED SHEN I THOUGH SHE JUST DIED BEING CAUGHT IN THE FIRE BUT IT WAS SHREDDER HIMSELF
YOU KILL A WOMAN AND INSTANTLY STEAL HER BABY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Holy... I can't believe this. It wasn't the fire, it was directly Saki. Whoa... oh and the boys had to see that... see their father cradling the dead body of a woman who's haunted them their whole lives, the woman their father loved, knowing that even if they had been in time to save her... it would have lead to more doom... fuck this episode is dark...
OH THEY'RE ALL SO SAD WATCHING YOSHI'S HEART BE BROKEN LIKE THIS
OH HE'S SOBBING HE'S SOBBING OH GOD
Raph calm down, Donnie's clearly wrestling with some guilt next to you about how securing the future hurt their father.
I'd be mad too Leo
Sheesh... so they're paradoxes now. That- fine. Okay. Whatever. I won't rant about it. I won't. ... In Space With Markiplier-ass timeloop-

OH LETS GOOOO IT'S ONE OF MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE PERSONA OST????
🔫 I got Pull the Trigger from Persona Q2!
I'll embrace being the cringiest mf of the entire internet when it comes to this series, I legit don't give a fuck. It's not hyperbolic when I say that Persona supported me during my darkest hours, and P5 music is my unconditional comfort media when I need to remember why I want to live.
🎀 my favorite parts
There ain't the perfect time for any big change Especially when not ready More time seems more brutal 'till it catches you Either you go with flow or force it without Determination But you're not alone in this complication So come with me On your mark Y'all get set Then pull the trigger and go Make a move before they can make an act on you No one but you can change your own world Ain't nobody else will do it for you
Some of my regrets come hunting me 'til this day Choice I made, it was wrong How thoughtless to believe that I was alone I learned it harder way but you don't have to go through what I've been through Cause you're not alone in this frustration
I think that the overall vibe of the song is empowering and uplifting, but I can't help but focus on the parts of it that highlight the fact that we're in this together. It feels like you're awakening someone into the politics of their struggle - most likely, a struggle that you're also facing.
When lost, look around you For a sec, you may feel lonely But you are not alone in this world We're right here with you
Coincidence - nah I chose to meet you Destiny I sought and fought through Scarred up but I'm feeling good Move destiny I'm coming through Partner we can do this right You are the fire I'm the wind tonight Burn your dread haha that's right Baby baby baby we tight*
*When Lotus Juice makes little references to his previous Persona/SMT OSTs => 🥲😭🥺
I'm aspiring to work in the socio-medical field, more specifically in the mental health domain. I don't want to just listen and toss medication, I want to genuinely untangle situations and guide people towards a path of hope and strength. I don't want anyone to go through what I've been through and worse. I want people to know that they've been wronged, to know that they have rights, to reclaim justice.
With brightest rings Yo I pull the trigger Make it look flashy, even when it's bitter Cannot defeat me even when I lose I stand right✫ Back to the spot go figure You don't see What I see But you don't have to see what I see Just see eye to eye Despite my differences We are still tight
✫I'm generally sloppy, but I still like to save face. I just like these lines.
I enjoy encountering different profiles and opinions, some that I wouldn't agree with, and allow them to understand me through my understanding of them. Discussing with people who think differently and disagreeing respectfully while working together towards a common goal, is probably one of the healthiest interactions you can have. People have different upbringings, cultural beliefs/opinions and humanity cannot align on one specific line of morals. What matters is that we respect that, and stay comprehensive and united. [this does NOT apply to bigoted views. I'm referring to intersectional discussions among oppressed groups]
So, uh, yea
This is the vibe that saved my life. All the depressive nihilism and despair was turned into anger and energy towards the real culprit - the system. Hopelessness is not an option when your suffering is caused by injustice, when your loved ones and all the other people who go through similar pain are also fighting to change the world. And I sincerely hope that what I'm trying to convey here has an impact on you, no matter how small, because I really wish I could pass this hope on to people who need it. ❤️
also please listen to Persona OSTs they're really good

I am back with another rec list. This is part three of my series of recs of Stucky fics that have less than 200 kudos and that I think deserve a bit more love. There are so many hidden gems out there and I think these ones are particularly worth reading. Please show these fics and authors some love! You can find the other lists here and here <3
The One True King by roe87 @jro616 [Stucky, 12,3k words, Teen]
(Alternative title: The One True Thot)
--
Steve just wants to live out his life on the beach, despite being half Atlantean and of royal descent, and he almost gets his way...
Then his once betrothed, Bucky, shows up out of the blue and demands Steve aid him on a quest to recover the lost trident of Atlantis.
Steve agrees to help Bucky in his quest, and to defeat the power hungry Stark before he brings war to the Atlanteans and the surface world. And, Steve finds he enjoys being with Bucky again, and he willingly embraces his destiny as protector (Thot) of the deep.
Your Shuddering Breath (and then we were okay) by catsoo12 @yugibogmonster [Stucky, 4,1k words, General]
Bucky joins Steve in the Avengers tower after leaving Wakanda. Disaster strikes but Bucky saves the day. It's pure fluff and Bucky and Steve are unabashedly together, yay.
Memories From My Heart by christywantspizza @christywantspizza [Stucky, 3,8k words, General]
A year after pulling Steve from the Potomac River and letting himself be convinced to stay in the The Avengers Tower with him, Bucky still hasn't remembered the true nature of the relationship he and Steve used to have. Steve, being true to himself, prefers to give Bucky space and decided that telling him they used to date would complicate things, so it's up to Natasha to fix the situation and give them a nudge in the right direction.
i'd like to have another kiss, another flashing chance at bliss by dreadlockholiday @dreadlockholiday [Stucky, 2,3k words, Teen]
"Steve," he says tentatively. "What's this?"
"Uh," Steve starts. Talking and answering questions wasn't part of his plan, and he suddenly finds himself unable to say a single word. He shifts anxiously on his feet, warmth filling his face until his ears feel so hot they start itching. "Well, it's..."
Bucky's looking at him expectantly, hope and awe written all over his face.
"It's your birthday," continues Steve, clearing his throat and wiping his sweaty hands on his pants. "So, uh, happy birthday. It's for you."
- Steve is very nervous about giving Bucky his present.
Chasing Heaven by BonkyBornes @padfoot-and-the-marauders [Stucky, 1,9k words, Not Rated]
Steven Grant Rogers has been chasing Heaven his entire life. He was sixteen when he realized it could be found in a person.
In The Gentle Snowfall by velvetjinx [Stucky, 396 words, General]
It snows out. Steve wants to make some good memories with Bucky in it.
Made It To The Milky Way (To See The Stars All Faded) by geckoholic [Stucky, 4k words, Teen]
Steve and Bucky at the movies, past and present.
if I could build my whole world around you by mostlikelydefinentlymad [Stucky, 1,4k words, General]
"I know that look. Shes got you wrapped around her finger she does. Better hold on tight to that one. My Gertie was the same way, lord bless her soul. Here, give her a little treat. It's the holidays after all." A weathered hand slips a foil wrapped chocolate in Bucky's and had it been anyone else he would've refused, on principal alone. It's a luxury, sure, but these are good men and deserve nice things too.
Still, he imagines the light in Steve's eyes as he takes the sweet. He'd eat it one tiny piece at a time, drawing it out for days.
Part of Your World by greyhavensking @greyhavensking [Stucky, 7,4k words, Teen]
"They’ll whisper sweet words to you, Steven. The wind will sigh your name and tug at your hair, beckoning you to come closer, just a bit closer, until the waters close over your head and you’re dragged down to your death… Promise me, Steven. Promise me you won’t go to them. Don’t go to the water, dear heart, not ever, and not alone."
___
Crown Prince Steve Rogers has known all his life to avoid the perilous sea, lest he fall victim to the dangerous Mer who occupy the wild waters. But in the aftermath of his mother's death he finds the only thing that can soothe his aching heart is the siren song of the sea, and in his grief he's heedless of his mother's warnings, walking the beach every night in order to feel something other than dark and lonely and lost.
He is not the only one escaping his tumultuous thoughts these nights, though, and nothing -- not even his mother's well-meant wisdom -- could have prepared him for how this meeting will change his entire life.
Masquerade by Ser_Charlemagne [Stucky, 5,5k words, Teen]
A series of 31 short fics for the Flufftober 2021 challenge on Tumblr. One fic posted once a day, for each prompt. October 20th Prompt - Secret Crush
Steve Rogers never removed the Winter Soldier's mask, but sought to help him anyway. After turning on HYDRA and saving Steve from the Potomac, the enigmatic Soldier returned to his side to accept his offer of compassion and help, but for nine months, never removed the mask in his presence while he began to recover himself.
Then, one night, they shared a dance.
Coney Island by Jellyshit107 [Stucky, 1,5k words, General]
Steve tells the team about the time Bucky ruined a double date, Bucky confesses to Steve why he ruined it...non-verbally.
relearning by savorvrymoment [Stucky, 3,1k words, Explicit]
Kinktober Day #1: Rimming -- Bucky and Steve enjoy retirement in Wakanda.
~“You still like this?” Bucky asks.~
Reflection by glim [Stucky, 690 words, General]
If there’s anyone who knows what Steve’s like when he’s getting sick, it’s Bucky.
How Long Will You Stay With Me by Bittersweet_in_Boston @bittersweet-in-boston [Stucky, 1k words, Teen]
The forest is dark as the dusk settles, and the wind whistles softly through the trees. It’s not that cold, but Steve pulls his jacket closer around him as he moves further into the woods.
He’s not even a mile away from the inn when he sees it. A faint blue glow just visible through the trees. As he approaches he hears voices, but there’s no one there, just a small clearing with a ring of light-colored mushrooms in the middle. The circle inside the mushrooms is glowing and now the voices are louder, but the clearing is empty.

Just Short of Forever [Spencer x Fem!Reader]
Tumblr media
Thank you to the lovely Anon who gave me this idea: maybe spencer or reader is about to get married to someone else, and they have a sort of runaway bride situation. they realize they have feelings for their ex (being spencer/reader) and they realize they can't get married.
Please feel free to send me ideas/requests!
CW - none really, mild angst but mostly fluff.
WC: 2.6K
Once upon a moonlit October, Spencer Reid met the love of his life and promised her forever. But their forever didn’t come. Call it fate, call it destiny; call it what you will, but their forever was cut short.
Somewhere along the line they lost their way. Their “I love yous” became “I’m sorry’s”, their laughter turned to tears. Warm smiles became cold. Hello’s evolved into goodbyes.
Five years was not forever. But you would always carry a piece of each other in your heart. You were each other’s first and strongest loves.
But life had other plans for you both.
***
The music blasting from the speakers stung your ears like a thousand tiny pin pricks. The alcohol in your system was enough to dull the boisterous crowd but not enough to stop the assault of the music on your eardrums.
You excused yourself from your group of friends, having to shout to be heard and pushed your way through the throngs to the front door of the bar.
You gasped, desperate for the fresh air of the crisp March evening to fill your lungs. There were a few people on the sidewalk smoking and conversing and the odd car passed by but other than that the street was quiet.
Just what you needed.
You pulled your cell phone from your purse to check your messages. You smiled to see some from him. You opened them to read them, just a voice came from behind you.
“Excuse me, miss? I think you dropped this.”
You froze instantly at the voice. It had to have been nearing three years since you’d last heard it, but you knew that articulation no matter how many years it had been.
“I guess this is it then.” He stepped into the corridor, the box cradled in his arms.
“I guess so.” You agreed with a sad nod.
“I hope you find what you’re looking for.”
“I hope you do too.” You chewed your lip determined not to cry. Not yet.
“Goodbye Y/N.”
“Goodbye Spencer.”
You slowly turned around and your eyes met. Those hazel eyes gazed back at you, the ones you’d fallen in love with all those years ago.
His face noticeably fell when he realised it was you. You saw his Adam’s apple bob deliciously beneath the soft flesh of his neck as he swallowed. His hand was held out with your keys in his open palm. You must have dropped them when you got out your phone.
“Hi Spencer.” You breathed with a shaky smile. You stepped a little closer and cautiously took the keys. “Thanks.”
“Y/N, hi.” He swallowed again, his voice low and croaky. “I didn’t recognise you from behind. You changed your hair.”
“Yeah.” You nodded. You had no idea what to say to him. You never thought you’d see him again and now he was here in front of you there were so many things you wanted to say but nothing that seemed appropriate.
You watched his eyes regard you, from your too high heels to your skimpy dress. You never dressed like this when you were with him.
His glance faltered when he reached your chest, but not for the reasons you would think.
You saw his eyes widen slightly, and you swore you saw tears brimming in them.
“Oh wow,” he choked as he spoke. “I guess congratulations are in order.” He pointed at your sash, the one that told him in large gold letters you were the “Bride To Be.”
You followed his gaze down to the sash, you’d forgotten all about it. You ran your fingers over it absentmindedly.
“Uh...yeah.” You muttered. “Thanks.”
“When’s the big day?” There was a twinge of jealousy to his tone, combined with a hint of bitterness.
“Uhm...two weeks Friday.”
“Wow.” He gnawed heavily on his lip, he swore he tasted blood. “That’s uhm...I don’t know.”
“Yeah.” You didn’t know what to say. What could you say?
“Actually,” he spoke again, his voice now restoring some punch. “I do know. It’s...it’s...horrible. It’s awful, it’s completely and utterly-”
“Y/N!”
Spencer was cut off by your best friend and maid of honour poking her head out of the bar and calling your name.
“They’re playing our song!”
“I’ll be right there!” You called back, attempting a smile.
She smiled back and soon disappeared back inside.
“Sorry I have to go. Thanks for finding my keys.” You went to walk past him, not being able to look at him anymore without risking tears.
As you did so, you felt a strong hand clasp around your wrist stopping you.
You turned back to Spencer, shaking him off you.
“What? You have more to say?” You folded your arms across your chest in frustration.
“Do you love him?” He surprised you with his forwardness.
“Of course I love him. I wouldn’t be marrying him if I didn’t.”
“Let me rephrase that then.” He stepped closer to you and you caught his scent in your nose. You’d never been able to describe the way he smelt, it was an aroma that was simply Spencer.
“Do you love him more than you loved me?”
Now that was the million dollar question. Honestly you knew the answer to that. You’d known since the first time you met Spencer you would never love anyone the way you loved him. But you weren’t willing to tell him that.
“I’m not answering that.” You shook your head and turned on your heels. “Goodbye Spencer.”
“We could have had it all!” He called after you, but you kept walking.
“Goodbye Spencer.” You repeated as you threw the door to the bar open and vanished.
Spencer was left staring at the space you had just occupied.
He should have been over you by now. He thought he was over you. But then you’d been standing in front of him and he’d fallen all over again the moment he glanced in your eyes.
Knowing you were getting married tore his heart in two. Your break up had been mutual, it just hadn’t worked out but that didn’t stop him loving you.
“It should have been me.” He whispered to himself as he turned and headed back down the street. “It should have been me.”
***
The sun was shining, there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. It went some way to dulling your nerves. But they were still there, bubbling under the surface.
You’d thought of nothing but Spencer and those brooding eyes since your bachelorette party. Truthfully, he’d been on your mind since the day you broke up but over time he’d faded to a distant memory. Now he was back with full force.
You’d still been mourning your break up with Spencer when you’d met Tristan, your soon to be husband.
The wound was still fresh, open and gaping and you’d thought Tristan would be a great distraction from the pain. Somehow over two years past you by and when Tristan proposed to you, you found yourself saying yes.
You did love him, just not the way you’d loved Spencer. The love you had for Spencer had been new and exciting, something you’d never experienced before. It had swept you off your feet and turned your whole world upside down.
Your body ached for him when he was away on a case and every time he returned and pulled you into his arms, the feeling overwhelmed you.
The door opened and you immediately leapt up from the couch. Spencer looked exhausted as he stepped across the threshold, but as soon as he locked eyes on you his face lit up.
“Spence!” You fell into his arms immediately and buried your head into his chest. You inhaled his scent, that pure Spencer scent.
He wrapped you tightly and protectively in his arms.
“Y/N,” he breathed you in. “Gosh I missed you.”
“I missed you too baby.” You squeezed him.
“Not half as much as I missed you my love.”
The two of you stood in the doorway in a loving embrace for several minutes, neither ready to let the other go.
The two of you never felt safer and more at home than in each other’s arms.
You smoothed down your dress and took in your reflection, trying to shake all thoughts of your lost love.
Everything was in place. Your make-up was done, your hair was pinned perfectly in place and you were cinched in your dress.
You turned to the side and then the other side and you even managed to smile a little. You felt like a princess, that much was for certain. But was the man you were about to marry your prince?
You stepped over to the window where the gardens could be viewed. A winding path snaked between perfectly manicured bushes.
His black suit stood out against the greenery and you didn’t know whether to laugh or to cry.
You spun around, hoisting your dress up as you marched from the room. As you were heading down the stairwell a voice caught you.
“Y/N where are you going?” Your best friend.
You turned to look up to where she was standing up the top of the staircase.
“There’s something I need to take care of.” You told her vaguely.
“Well hurry up, the ceremony’s starting soon. You of all people can’t be late.” She laughed.
“This won’t take long, trust me.” And with that you carried on down the stairs.
You found the back entrance easily enough and shoved open the door.
He was wearing his best suit and tie and his hair was swept back off his face, you’d think it was his wedding day.
“Hi Y/N.” He smiled at you as you approached.
“Don't hi me Spencer. What the hell are you doing here?” You didn’t need to ask how he knew where you were getting married, he’d no doubt gotten his friend Penelope to find you.
He laughed a little and the sound made you go a little weak.
“It’s simple really,” he shrugged. “I’m here to tell you you’re marrying the wrong man.”
It was your turn to laugh now.
“Really Spencer? Where was this man three years ago? If I recall we wanted different things. So please enlighten me, why am I marrying the wrong man?” You didn’t have time for this, but you wanted to hear why he’d had the audacity to show up here today.
And maybe you wanted to see if he could convince you that you were marrying the wrong man.
“Because you don’t love him like you loved me. You don’t love him the way I’m pretty certain you still love me.”
“Nice try.” You scoffed. “I’ve got to go get married. Goodbye Spencer.” You turned away from him now and hoisted your dress again so you could make a quick exit back up the garden.
“You didn’t deny it.” Spencer’s words were smug and it irritated you enough to get you to turn back around.
“Didn’t think it was necessary.”
“I didn’t fight for you.” He stepped closer to you. “I didn’t fight for us. And maybe three years is too late. I know this isn’t ideal timing on my part but I’m here now and I’m ready to fight.”
“Spencer, our time has passed.”
“Do you remember our first date?”
You frowned, you really didn’t have time for this.
“Yes Spencer, of course I remember our first date.”
For October, the weather had been good to you. Spencer had taken you to the Smithsonian, you’d probably learnt more from him than anything the institution had to tell you.
Afterwards you’d gotten coffee and strolled through the DC streets for hours.
You chatted about everything, your jobs, your childhoods, what made you tick, music and movies and everything in between.
Somehow the sun had set and before you knew it you’d spent the whole day together.
“I have to say,” you glanced at him as you strolled towards your apartment. “This has been an excellent first date.”
“It has been, hasn’t it.” He smiled at you. “I might even go as far to say the best first date.”
You blushed as you came to a stop outside your building.
“Well this is me.” You shrugged shyly. You wanted him to kiss you, but you weren’t sure what he was thinking.
“Look, I’m not the “cool” guy. I don’t really know what is best practice on first dates and I could very well blow this before it’s even started…” he started, coming closer to you and taking hold of your hands. “But I have had an amazing day. And I just want you to know that if you want it, I’m standing here now promising you forever.”
You felt tears well in your eyes and a shiver passed up your spine at his words. The way he was looking at you was so different from the way anyone had ever looked at you before in your life.
“I’ll bear that in mind.” You smiled and closed the space between you and kissed him.
It was the kind of magical kiss that would live on in your memory for the rest of your life.
“I promised you forever.”
“You did.”
“And I meant it.” He stepped closer again, cautiously.
“Y/N!” You heard your name being yelled across the garden. You turned to see your bridesmaids in the doorway staring at you.
“What are you doing? We need to go!”
“Two minutes I promise!” You called back.
You waited for them to leave before you turned back to Spencer.
“I really need to go.”
“Please Y/N.” He took hold of your hands with an urgency of a man who knew this was do or die time. “I’m not this man Y/N, you know that. I’m not the kind of man that crashes someone's wedding and asks them to run away with me. But that’s how much I love you. I love you more than all the stars in the sky and I always will. So I am here, crashing your wedding and asking you to run away with me.”
Tears rolled down your cheeks all of a sudden. Maybe it’s all you’d wanted to hear from him. You’d waited to hear those words for five long years. But was he too late?
“Spencer,” you sniffed, chewing your lip. “I’m in a wedding dress. I am getting married today.”
“Why do you think I wore my best suit.” He grinned. “I’m not saying don’t get married today Y/N. I’m saying marry the right man. Marry me.”
“You want to marry me? Today?” You gave him a look as though you didn’t believe him.
He let go of one of your hands and reached into his jacket pocket. Seconds later he pulled out two tickets.
“Flights to Vegas. In one hour.” He shrugged. “I’m going, will you be there with me?”
“Are you for real right now?” More tears fell.
“I am very for real Y/N.” He laughed. “We can be married in a few hours. Please, let me make good on my promise. Will you be my forever?”
You looked at his eyes and then at the tickets and back again.
It was all you’d ever wanted, Spencer standing in front of you telling you he wanted to marry you.
And suddenly, the choice didn’t seem so hard.
“Yes Spencer Reid,” you smiled. “Yes I will be your forever.”
And with that you pulled him by the hand and the two of you started running. Running towards your future.
Your future that was always meant to be you and Spencer. He was your forever.

Just one way that SG could have gone without completely upending everything the show did and it would have been 1000000x better. Are there a million different paths they could have taken that would have been better? Yes! But here’s one (and this is focused on the Kara/Lena stuff, I can’t even begin to get into all the other ways I would have loved to see the rest of the characters develop and their story lines).
Season 1 - Kara “coming out” to Winn on the rooftop would have been literal and literal. Out as an alien and her sexuality. “Oh my God you’re gay!” -- “no, I’m not gay! I mean, I’m bi, but that’s besides the point! I’m trying to say—“ — *interrupted again by Winn fist pumping and whisper shouting YES!* “what are you doing?” — “huh? Oh. Uh. I mean, that’s like awesome, you know? Like really great news for people who maybe didn’t think they could have a chance with you, but wow, so many chances. Really good news for...those people...” — *exasperated Kara jumps off the roof*
Superman wouldn’t have been this big, faceless, looming shadow over her in s1. The relationship would have been more complicated. A mix of Kara being torn about feeling abandoned by him and her guilt of not being able to fulfill her role and raise him/protect him as her family intended. Clark is distant with her for several reasons but one of the biggest ones is because Kara is so passionate about Krypton and he knows he can’t be the Kryptonian she would hope to have in him. They obviously care deeply about each other, they’re family, and they try, but there’s tension and it’s an ongoing thread through the seasons weaving through the complexities of their relationship. As well as the additional resentment/tension of Supergirl constantly getting belittled in comparison to Superman. L A Y E R S.
Kara would have crushed on James AND Lucy. She’s all about James and then Lucy shows up and she’s starry eyed. Alex teases her mercilessly about her crushes. Mostly about Lucy because wow those Lanes must have some Kryptonian catnip in their gene pool. Mostly just flirting and cuteness through s1. Maybe some kisses. Nothing serious. “Uh what happened to your thing for James?” — Kara’s jaw drops, yeah, she totally forgot about that. “You got that distracted by Lucy??” — Wincing, she says “okay, but in my defense she is REALLY pretty... James and I can just be friends.” — “what about Lucy?” — “also friends! You can never have too many friends!” — Alex raises an eyebrow at that and Kara blushes, incredibly grateful for the sirens going off a few miles away so she can fly out of the conversation.
At the end of s1, Alex foreshadows with a throwaway line while teasing Kara about Lucy in front of an exasperated Clark. “I bet it’s your destiny to have an LL too. Gotta keep it in the family, right?” — “that’s not a thing” Kara and Clark reply in unison. Alex just laughs. Season 1 ends with Kara happily single and embracing her new life as Supergirl!
Season 2 - Kara meets her LL. 😏 it’s all heart eyes and flirting, but worried because she can’t tell her secret and won’t pursue anything cause a) that’s crossing a line b) doesn’t think Lena will ever like her that way c) Clark would be apoplectic and Kara just doesn’t need the headache.
Mon-El does crash in the pod. He’s the typical jerk, Kara can’t stand him but desperately tries to see the good in him. He falls for Kara, tries to kiss her, she pointedly shoots him down. “Uh. No?” — “why?” — “why??? Because you’ve been nothing but a jerk to me. Why would you ever think I’d like you? Get over yourself.” — Mon-El starts to see the error of his ways, changes his behavior, and they become friends. The biggest change is that Kara realizes she can talk about Krypton with him. He’s her closest tie to Krypton, the life she lost, even closer than Clark could ever be. Mon-El knows Kryptonian. They had similar upbringings. Closer than anyone else in the galaxy would be able to know. One day at the DEO Alex walks past the two of them, both suited up for superhero work, laughing and talking animatedly, and goes to J’onn with a curious face. “Am I hearing Kryptonese?” — J’onn shrugs. “And a little Daximin too, I’d guess from the sound of it.” — Alex is intrigued.
Lena is saddened by the “Mike” development. But determined to keep Kara in her life. Her ex “Jackie” comes to town with nanobot technology. Kara bombs their date with Mon-El and is seriously jealous to the point where Mon-El actually asks her if there’s anything there. Kara denies it. Jackie is being controlled by her silent partner, Bill. “You know what they say,” he mocks to Lena, “behind every great woman is—“ — “a petty and bitter little bastard?” — Lena has to pull the plug on Jackie to save Supergirl. She dies. It’s sad. Kara is there for her.
Earth gets irradiated with lead. Kara’s sad to say goodbye to Mon-El, but not devastated. S3 opens with Kara in a state of depression. Alex tries to talk to her. “I know it hurt to lose him-“ — “you don’t understand. It’s not about him. I didn’t...I didn’t lose HIM. I lost so much more...” she lost krypton again. Her last connection. She grieves for her home, not for the man. Lena, however, doesn’t know this distinction and is torn that Kara seemed to love him so much and it further confirms that Kara would never see her or want her as anything more than a friend. Resigns herself to this fate. To love from afar.
Meanwhile...Season 3 reveals that Lena’s known the truth about Kara all along! She’s just been playing along with the game until Kara trusts her enough to tell her. But the longer Kara waits, the more hurt Lena is. The feud between Supergirl and Lena begins. Lena takes out her anger on Supergirl but keeps Kara. She unconsciously compartmentalizes her resentment and hurt by focusing it on Supergirl and continues to pine for Kara, separating them as if they really are two different people in her mind (though she knows otherwise).
James starts to develop an interest in Lena after getting to know her better when she buys Catco, but Lena has no interest. Just friendly with him. Sam teases her at Kara’s Christmas party. “James is looking fine tonight.” — “oh, stop. It’s not like that. I’m his boss.” — “yeah cause that’s never happened before.” — “seriously. I’m not interested.” — “well that’s a shame cause from the way he’s looking over here, he definitely is.” — Lena groans. “I sincerely hope you’re wrong about that.” — Sam smiles knowingly and drops her head to whisper in Lena’s ear. “Because the one you really want is standing next to him?” — Lena glances over and sees Kara on one side of James with Winn on the other. “Alright. You got me. I’m infatuated with Winn Schott. My secret is out.” She sips her wine ruefully. — Sam sighs. “Lena, why won’t you just—“ — “Sam.” She cuts her off all too seriously and shakes her head. — sighing again, but respecting her wishes, Sam doesn’t push it. Instead she kisses Lena’s cheek and touches her face, rubbing her thumb affectionately over her cheekbone. “I only want for you to be happy, my friend.” — Lena smiles sadly, eyes glistening, and turns her face into Sam’s hand, putting her own over it, kissing her palm briefly in gratitude, and squeezes her hand between hers. A loud thud of someone dropping something on the countertop across from them startles them both. It’s Kara. Looking very chipper. Very eager. Very energetic. Her smile all teeth. And if happiness could be aggressive, Kara has mastered the art. “Sam, I think Alex was looking for you! We’re about to eat anyway!” — “oh! Uh. Okay. Thanks.” — Sam walks away and Kara can’t make eye contact with Lena, moving on to talk to someone else. Lena is baffled, but refuses to listen to Sam’s insistence later than night on how that was most definitely an extremely jealous Kara.
Mon-El returns, happily married to Saturn Girl! Kara is surprised, slightly jealous, but gets over it quickly. They agree to be pals. Kara’s surprised by how easy it is and she’s grateful to keep him in her life. He’s happy with Imra and has moved on from Kara completely. A scene where Mon-El and Imra see Lena enter the DEO as they watch secretly from the balcony above. “So that’s her? The Lena Luthor?” — Mon-El is grave and serious. “You can’t tell Kara.” — “I know.” — “she can’t know anything. It’ll change too much.” — “Brainy already gave me the lecture, I don’t need it from you too. But tell me, do you really think that Kara doesn’t have a right to know what that woman will do?” — “it’s not up to us. We cant risk our future.” — “so you’ll lie to Supergirl?” — “yes.” (Dun dun dunnn! Ominonousssss! Cryptic!!)
Season 4 - Kara finally tells Lena the truth...that she’s Supergirl, not the the other truth. Lena tells her she’s known all along. Kara is shocked and a little upset that she’s hidden it from her all this time. Lena has NO TOLERANCE for the self righteous hypocrisy. Season 4 is tumultuous as Lena finally faces how truly hurt she is by how long it took for Kara to tell her the truth (in her mind, trust her). Kara is grappling with how to handle the fact that Lena KNEW and still Kara kept lying and Lena kept pretending. Sows doubt about their relationship. They argue and get it all out over the course of the season, while still working together. Lena shoots Lex, killing him to protect Kara. She tells Kara what happened and it banishes any shakiness or doubt between them. Kara is devastated that she wasn’t able to stop Lex, so that Lena wouldn’t have had to do such a thing. Feels like she failed her. Lena assures her that she would do it again if she had to, she would do anything to keep Kara safe. The rift is sealed. Season 4 ends with Supergirl/Lena hugging and Kara/Lena kissing.
Season 5 - they’ve finally gotten their shit together and admitted their feelings!! Romance and heart eyes and ridiculous flirting abounds. Kara skips on air for weeks, driving Alex up the wall (but she’s also happy for them both because jfc that took forever). All new and shy and lovely. “I love you” is exchanged! But CLASSIC TROPE ALERT! Lena gets kidnapped because of her ties to Supergirl and Kara goes on a rampage to find her. Eventually rescues her but there’s a cost. Season 5 ends with Kara saying she’s going to stay away from Lena for her own good so nothing like that will happen to her again. She has to protect her. Lena is heartbroken. So is Kara.
Season 6 - Kara gets sent to the phantom zone and Lena goes on a rampage to save her (role reversal!). After rescuing her, Lena refuses to let Kara pull away again. Demands that they work through this together. Kara doesn’t have it in her to fight it any longer. She loves Lena too much. They settle into domesticity and a real partnership. All in. Hints of proposal on the horizon.
Very end of series finale does a time jump where we see the briefest flash of the justice league with a VERY MARRIED Supergirl at the helm. Potential spin off? Happiest of happy endings!
Oh and that cryptic comment Imra made about Lena in season 3? “What that woman will do” is save entire goddamn universe and is the foundation upon which the Legion is able to exist. Supergirl is their inspiration and Lena is how they’re able to fight. L-Corp, Lena’s technology, and her philanthropy/mission extends through the ages, thousands of years in the future. L-Corp thrives on Lena Luthor’s legacy and has expanded throughout the galaxy as a force for good, often financing/teaming with the Legion.

eah characters as cavetown songs
this was inspired by @/applewhiteapologist's eah characters as taylor swift songs, sooooooo yeah
some characters might not be here because: 1. it's hard to find songs for them (as of right now) 2. i forgot them/i'll do them if i have more time
apple white - devil town v2/green
-i chose devil town v2 because it seemed the most, uh, apple out of all the devil town versions? devil town v1 seems edgy-ish, and devil town v3 seems lower and calmer, i think???? maybe i just chose this because it has those light, floaty chords, i'm not sure, i'm not smart or anything -also i honestly felt like this was hard -i chose devil town because it could represent the future she pictured in her mind when raven didn't sign the book -i don't really know what to explain green, but like, ashlynn and apple in true hearts day??? that's the best way i could explain this song -lyric analysis time: --"i still get a little scared of something new, but I feel a little safer when i'm with you, falling doesn't feel so bad, when I know you've fallen this way too" ---apple is "a little scared of something new" because she's in for an unpredictable future without the storybook of legends ---for the falling part, it's like she's not so sad about being led astray when she's with her friends maybeeeeeee -lyrics for green because i can't explain it but it's just THERE: --"you looked so good in green i hope you’re well and you look so good with him and i’m proud of you still take care of my shirt warm and red i hope you think of me still as your friend i hope you love yourself your body and heart i hope you feel happy that’s all i want that's all i want"
raven queen - devil town v1 (dang it there's no purple text so have plain text)
-i just chose devil town v1 because i think it would work well with her guitar, i actually don't know how guitar works but i'm pretending to know how it works, don't tell anyone i don't know how they work -i think this song could represent her home life and whatnot because she's living with the evil queen -it's lyric analysis time!!: --"you said something dumb again, she's mad, at least that's what they say" (i just used orange so the lyrics wouldn't blend in as much) ---the something dumb thing could be like a 'nice deed' the evil queen doesn't like, and she's mad because of that --"we're all dead in devil town, that's fine, cause nothing's gonna scare us now" ---she's 'dead' after all the nagging and 'be eviL EMBRACE YOUR INNER EVIL' shit and it's now the normal, and it's not going to scare her since it's basically her life now -also slowed devil town can fit her too
madeline hatter - hug all ur friends/talk to me
-she's just so friendly?????? and supportive?????? and oh gosh i need a hug???????? -seriously though, they suit her because she feels so much like a huggy, supportive person and she's friends with everyone sooooooooooooo, hugs for everyone!! except you crystal!! and headmaster grimm!! not forgiving for the time you almost banished maddie!! -the lyrics because i can't explain these songs, it's just that maddie vibe, you know?: --"life’s too short to worry about things that we got wrong, so hug all your friends and let them know, you’re not letting go, i’m not letting go" (hug all ur friends) --"you don't have to be a prodigy to be unique you don't have to know what to say or what to think you don't have to be anybody you can never be that's alright, let it out, talk to me" (talk to me)
briar beauty - pigeon
-i had a very hard time with her but i think this kinda fits -it generates a sleepy vibe? (even though i didn't get this from the sleepyhead album *cough cough*) -okay, so the reason why i chose this for her is because of the chorus, which could kind of tie in with her destiny, with the 100 year coma -have the chorus for reference: --"didn’t give me time to say goodbye in the way that i wanted to, so honey, close your eyes and stay like you’re supposed to do, don’t know how i’m gonna live without, but i’ll stay strong for you"
ca cupid - sweet tooth/for you
-this is already self-explanatory if you listened to the song(s), buT IF YOU HAVEN'T YET, basically it's a song about an unhealthy crush and love and stuff -and you know who she has an unhealthy crush on???? that's right, it's blondie!! /hj (but seriously, in canon it's dexter but uH, i refuse to believe that, they're better off as friends) -lyric examples because like maddie, i can't really explain it but i know the vibe is THERE: --"a sweet tooth for you, i'm wide awake, the sugar went straight to my brain, feel like a kid, i double tap, my chest with my fist, i like you, say it back, say it back"
cerise hood - snail
-snail iS SUCH A GREAT SONG OMG -snail kinda represents her childhood and 'not wanting to be born like this' because of her parents technically breaking destiny (stupid storybook of legends) -lyrics from the song because i kinda don't really need to explain this song more: --"i was just born like this, wish that i could change it" --"i'm hanging out with the foxes and the hounds, and when i fit in i'll break back out"
daring charming - boys will be bugs/lemons (technically cavetown is just a feature but he's still there so yeah)
-it's just about the vibes -and also about the fact that the person in the songs have to uphold some sort of standard (the songs' standards were about masculinity) and i thought it could fit daring because he also has to uphold a standard (being the perfect charming prince) -also in lemons, daring's part is the one where cavetown sings it (if that wasn't obvious) -also ANOTHER LEMONS SIDE NOTE, i'd imagine rosabella singing brye's part, just because -lyrics time: --"don't mess with me, i'm a big boy now and i'm very scary i punch my walls, stay out at night, and i do karate don't message me 'cause i won't reply, i wanna make you cry ain't that how it's supposed to be? though it isn’t me boys will be bugs, right?" (boys will be bugs) --"so i'm gonna take it out on you too proud to show i'm hurting push it on you 'til you're burning" (lemons)
darling charming - 888/trying
-888 is a fun song, very groovy, has peppa pig plasters, 10/10 -main reason i chose 888, it kinda feels gay when you put it under a certain light?????????? -and snail could also fit with darling but i don't want to rob cerise -i was very stuck for a second song for darling because i felt obligated to give the charming siblings two songs because they're that top tier, but i think trying could be a good fit to some extent -could be like 'not great relationship with parents, struggle to fit with their standards ever since she found out she wanted to be a hero or something' -i still do think snail is a better fit for darling but i really really don't want to rob cerise because cerise is amazing -some lyrics: --"i'm workin' things out clouds lookin' strange papercut fingers dancing on the strings if i could see you right now i'd dance just for you when the nightlight goes out" (888) --"please let me know if you change your mind cause inside i'm falling And I need you to pull me out of this decline i realize how hard on you this must seem But trust me when i say it's far, far worse for me" (trying)
dexter charming - telescope/home
-telescope just feels like his vibe???? also because it kinda also have hopeless romantic-ness???? -also i headcanon him to be an astronomy nerd???? so that's fun???? that's my reasoning i guess???? (also, side-note i have just listened to astronomy by conan gray and it fits dexter) -ALSO HOME IS HERE BECAUSE DEXTER IS TRANS YOU CAN'T CHANGE MY MIND -also because it's also his vibe??????? -what time is it????? *clap clap* it's lyrics time!!: --"through the lens, it's dark, single-digit on the clock singing, "yessiree, i sure like-a you a lot" all i need is to get her she'll be happy if you let her" (telescope) --"turn off your porcelain face i can't really think right now and this place has too many colors, enough to drive all of us insane are you dead? sometimes i think i'm dead cause i can feel ghosts and ghouls wrapping my head but i don't wanna fall asleep just yet" (home)
okay the process of this post was just me staring at the lyrics and listening to cavetown a lot, sometimes during online classes but shhhh don't tell anyone (and finding more great songs)
is this post going to flop?? very very likely. do i care? eh, not sure, this was just me trying to put on my big brain hat.
also i realized while reading this post, that i never actually analyzed the majority of the songs' lyrics in this post?? so i'm very sorry

Staycation
Tumblr media
A/N: Just some pure tooth rotting fluff for these quarantine times. Reminder to stay safe and wear a mask in public.
————-
Week 1
“Maybe it won’t be so bad.” Spencer said.
You had to go into quarantine and your best friend was trying to convince you that it wouldn’t be bad.
“How? I’m a high school teacher who suddenly has to teach on zoom, and I live alone. I don’t even have like, a cat!” You said.
“I live alone too! And as far as we know, this’ll be over in two weeks and you’ll be back in the classroom in no time.” Spencer said, placing his hands on your shoulders.
You were currently in Spencer’s apartment, freaking out over the email you had gotten from the school you worked at, saying they were going to be closing for two weeks. Stupid virus.
Spencer and you had met two years ago in a bookstore when you ‘fought’ over the last copy of a book. You ended up getting it, but you also left with a phone number that would turn into your best friend’s phone number.
“I’ve got the best idea!” You said, suddenly.
“What?” Spencer asked.
“We could quarantine together!” You said.
“What? That seems like it goes against the rules of quarantine.” Spencer said.
“Think about it! It won’t be that long, and we both live alone. To save us from going insane, we could quarantine together!” You said.
Spencer seemed to be warming up to the idea. “Who’s apartment would we stay at?” He asked.
“Well...your apartment is bigger than mine. And you have a guest bedroom. And you have a washer and dryer already in your apartment.” You said.
“Fine. You can stay in my guest room for the few weeks we’ll be here.” Spencer said. “We can go grab your stuff later.”
“Oh this is going to be the best staycation ever!” You said.
Week 2
“This staycation sucks ass.” You said, dangling over the couch.
“Aren’t you supposed to go back to school soon?” Spencer asked from his desk. The last week had been fun, but being in the same apartment while both trying to do your jobs was hard.
“No. We got pushed back again. They said maybe by mid-April we’ll go back.” You said.
Spencer’s job at the FBI was changing too. For the safety of the team, they had stopped traveling and were only doing consults from their homes. The team also had a zoom meeting everyday, which meant sitting in your guest room for a very long time.
“That sucks. How are your students reacting?” Spencer asked.
“Eh. They say they love getting to catch up on all their Netflix shows, but some say they miss me, which warms my cold dead heart.” You said.
You flipped off the couch and went over to Spencer’s desk.
“I have a good idea.” You said. “How about tonight we stay up late and watch as many episodes of Doctor Who as we can?”
“That’s the best idea you’ve ever had.” Spencer said.
Later on, the two of you were settled on his couch, holding a bowl of popcorn and under a blanket. As the episodes went on, you caught yourself looking over at Spencer periodically.
His curls had gotten more wild, and you had never noticed the shape of his jaw before.
“Y/N?” He asked. You hadn’t realized he caught you staring at him.
“Sorry, I just zoned out there for a minute.” You said.
Week 3
You were on a zoom call with your third period class, going over Manifest Destiny. Spencer’s call with his team was later in the day so you actually got to do the call from the office for once.
Spencer had stepped in a few minutes ago to grab a book off his shelves, and was now looking at the shelves behind you.
“Can anyone name the president who really pushed for Manifest Destiny?” You asked.
“James K. Polk.” Spencer said from behind you without hesitating.
“Spencer, last time I checked, you weren’t enrolled in my third period American Studies class.” You said.
This caused a few laughed from your class.
“Sorry.” He said before slipping out of the office and back towards the kitchen.
One of the girls on your screen raised her hand.
“Yes, Amelia.” You said.
“Is he your boyfriend, Miss Y/L/N?” She asked.
You felt your face flush. “I-uh-no. Spencer’s just my friend.” You said. Wanting to change the subject as quickly as possible you moved on to your next question.
Later, when you were watching some random reality tv show, you thought about it. Sure, you really like Spencer, but enough to date him?
Maybe there was something there.
Week 4
“Ugh!” You called out, slamming your phone down on the kitchen island.
“You ok, Y/N?” Spencer asked.
“No! No, I’m not ok! I just found out we’re going to be doing online for the rest of the year!” You said. “It sucks. I had so many fun activities planned and I was so excited for the end of the year and I just-“
You stopped as you felt tears well up in your eyes. It was only your second year as a teacher and you were really looking forward to redoing some of your favorite things from last year and some new activities.
“Oh, Y/N, I’m sorry.” Spencer said. He came up beside you and wrapped his arms around you.
You fell into his embrace and you two stood like that for a few minutes, Spencer holding on to you, you crying into his shoulder.
When he pulled away, he wiped the tears from under your eyes.
“How about a nice long marathon of whatever show you like?” Spencer asked.
“Even if it’s cheesy and stupid?” You asked.
“Especially if it’s cheesy and stupid.” Spencer said, pulling you in for another hug.
Week 5
“Can I give you a haircut?” You asked.
“Absolutely not.” Spencer said.
You were standing behind him, and you ran your hand through his hair. “It’s getting really long though! I promise I won’t mess it up!” You said.
“No, I draw the line at haircutting. Have you ever even cut hair before?” Spencer asked.
“Once. On a Barbie doll.” You said.
“So no. You are not cutting my hair.” Spencer said.
You moved so you were sitting next to him and did your best puppy dog eyes. “Just a couple inches?” You asked.
You sat staring at him for a few seconds before he sighed.
“Fine. Two inches.” He said.
“Yay!” You said.
A few minutes later you were in the bathroom, Spencer sitting in a chair, you holding the best pair of scissors you could find.
“I’m so glad you let me do this.” You said, brushing through his hair.
“Only because you’re my best friend.” He said.
You smiled and grabbed the scissors, and started cutting the back of his hair.
“Be careful. That sounds like a lot.” Spencer said.
“Calm down, it’s like an inch-maybe two.” You said.
You worked in silence for a few seconds before coming around to his side. You cut some peices and then kneeled down in front of him. You were now eye level.
You brought a few pieces of his hair over to the other side, in an attempt to make it even. You didn’t even realize that Spencer was looking at you until you let go of his hair.
“Hi.” You whispered.
“Hi.” Spencer whispered back.
Suddenly, he was leaning forward, but not all the way. Kind of like a signal, if you didn’t want this, you could still pull away.
But you didn’t pull away. You wanted this. You leaned closer and pressed your lips to his. Spencer pulled away after a few seconds, and then smiled at you.
“I’m really glad you gave me a haircut.” Spencer said.
“I’m really glad you agreed to let me stay here with you.” You said.

‘Til Time Do Us Part - KarlNap (DreamSMP)
1.7k words
Summary: Karl meets, and eventually falls for a kind stranger. (This is based on time traveler Karl from Dream SMP canon!)
“Where, where am I?” Karl felt his head spinning as he stumbled out of a familiar library. Glancing around he noted the heaps of books stacked on each other, there were paintings of different faces adorned on the walls, and there was a young man sitting comfortably in an armchair, staring right at him.
“Hi!” The stranger stood up, bunching up the papers he’d been staring at as he moved towards Karl. “You must be new to the library! I’m Sapnap.” the taller man stuck out his hand, Karl carefully took the handshake, noting the warm smile Sapnap was giving him.
“Do you know exactly where we are?” Karl didn’t quite know the question to ask, he barely knew who he was at this point. But Sapnap seemed kind and welcoming, he gestured Karl to follow him into an adjacent room in the library.
Pointing at a row of maps he began, “you’re in Dream SMP, look, this is where we are. Then there’s L’manburg, or what’s left of it, Party Island, the prison, and ooh! I just put the new hotel Tommy’s building here as well. Looks good huh?” Sapnap gestured wildly around the crinkling brown paper with a beaming smile. Karl studied the map hoping to gain some semblance of knowledge about where he was. But this map practically answered every question he had perfectly; little bullet points made note of important recent events describing actions he had apparently made in the past few weeks. It was a real-life summary of everything, all he needed to know, it was perfect.
“You made this?” Karl gawked at the masterpiece in front of him. Sapnap rubbed the back of his neck, “well I had a little help but yeah! It’s uh, nice to know what’s going on. You- I, I can be pretty forgetful you know?” and Karl couldn’t help but agree. Just ask he began to take another look at the map Sapnap cleared his throat, “would you wanna go check out Party Island? I know you’ll love to see what the llamas are doing today!” and Karl couldn’t deny he wanted to spend time with this kind stranger.
Quickly they had raced through the SMP to Party Island, Sapnap had led Karl through all the best parts of the world. They stole potatoes from a child named Purpled, sang songs with a strange naked man, and harassed various British children all before ending on the roller coaster in Party Island. Karl had gone from chasing after Sapnap to roaming the world hand in hand in just a measure of hours. As they rounded the day out Sapnap pulled Karl’s attention from the setting sun to his chocolate brown eyes.
Sapnap looked golden in the warm hues of the setting sun, flames danced in his eyes, and a light reddish color burned on his cheeks. Just staring at the man in front of him Karl felt his own breath hitch. Sapnap glanced down nervously, “I really enjoyed hanging out with ya today Karl, and I was wondering if you’d wanna, maybe, hangout again sometime? And! Also I got this from Puffy!” not leaving Karl a moment to speak he pushed a slightly crunched purple allium flower into Karl’s hands.
Karl felt warmth budding on his cheeks as he stifled a glowing smile at the beautiful flower, it was his favorite kind too. “Of course I wanna hangout more! We literally had the best time ever, you know all the best places and my favorite things it’s like you’ve known me forever Sap!” Karl grinned up at Sapnap who let out a strangled, but excited giggle. Karl shook his head with a grin and pulled Sapnap in for a hug. “Karl n Sapnap forever!” Karl shrieked into Sapnap’s shoulder, trying to contain his ecstatic energy as Sapnap swayed him back and forth in the hug.
“Forever.” Sapnap agreed.
~
“Hello?”
“Anyone there?” Karl called out as he pushed open the door to a strange and dusty library. A handsome stranger gave him a dashing grin as he stood up, pulling together the papers he was writing in.
“Hey! Welcome to the library!” the man stuck out a hand which Karl took with a warm smile. “Have I seen you before? This is crazy but I swear you were like totally in a dream I just had!” Karl looked up at the stranger with a smile, but the man calmly shook his head, “I get that sometimes, but I don’t think so! Name’s Sapnap.” Karl promptly introduced himself as well.
"Say, do you know where I am? My head's kinda fuzzy." Karl gave the kind stranger a sheepish grin, but Sapnap seemed to grasp his question. "Follow me!" Karl was jolted forwards as Sapnap grabbed his hand, pulling him into an adjacent room with a whole wall covered in maps.
With his bearings set he agreed to help Sapnap look for a new trident in the ocean near a place called "Snowchester" it was the least he could do after Sapnap had been so kind to him, it's not every day a man with little to no memories appears in your library!
They spent the day splashing in the waves and resting on the shore. Karl was swept off his feet- twice by the waves and ultimately by Sapnap himself. The taller warrior captured Karl's heart with every blinding grin, flip of his ocean-damp hair, and kind but undeniably flirtatious words.
Come nightfall the two retreated off the coast to what Karl assumed was Snowchester. Spending the night sitting atop a spruce wood roof staring at the stars, Karl found himself more mesmerized by the shining warmth of Sapnap's eyes than any star in the sky.
Sapnap broke the silence, tilting his head to the left to meet Karl's eyes with his, "so, pretty good day huh?" Karl nodded, swallowing butterflies. "We should do this again!" Karl nodded in agreement again, mustering some confidence of his own, "we make a pretty good team huh? I could get used to you by my side." Sapnap just grinned in agreement, scooting closer to Karl, his arm slipping under Karl's head, letting him just rest in Sap's embrace.
Karl smiled at the moon, "this is definitely something I wanna get used to."
~
Waking up alone always broke Sapnap's heart. Usually there was some poor excuse or sign that Karl was whirled away from him. With a heavy heart he got used to packing up a days worth of necessities for two and heading to the library Karl had built all those months ago.
Except this time when he entered the library, he realized he wasn't alone.
"Quackity? Do you need something?" Sapnap was shocked to see a familiar face at such a secret location.
"You can't keep doing this Sapnap, it's- I don't even know- it's wrong." Quackity gestured to the library as if Sapnap didn't already know.
"I have to Q, what else would I do? Let him try to make it home to a place he's completely forgotten all alone?" Sapnap paused, taking in a shaky breath, "I'm not gonna let him forget our life together Quackity, I can't"
Quackity raised his voice, "like he doesn't forget every damn time? You're sitting here playing make believe with your fiancé! Don't you get tired? Isn't it fucking tiring having him fall in love with you over, and over again? How are you okay with this!"
Sapnap stalked towards his usual desk, collecting all the papers. "I love him Quackity, I'd do anything for him, and I trust that eventually he'll figure this time travel adventure shit out, I'm not gonna give up on our life together! How can you not see that?"
Quackity just rolled his eyes. "Bullshit. This is wrong, you're interfering with Karl's - I don't know - destiny, future, powers, whatever the hell you're calling it now. Sapnap he's gone. Don't you see every Karl you get is different? That's not your Karl anymore."
Sapnap was seeing red. "Get out. If I fucking wanted you here I'd find you. Don't you have banking business to attend to? Can't you let me have the one good thing in my life? He's Karl, he's my Karl. And that's all I need." Sapnap pointed at the door, his hand clenched around the hilt of his sword.
Quackity shook his head but headed towards the door. "You can't do this forever. Don't you think there'll be a trip where he doesn't come back? Or worse, he comes back unable to love you? Arent you just delaying the inevitable?" Sapnap sprung up from his chair, sword drawn, but Quackity quickly slipped through the doorway. "I'm leaving, I'm leaving. Plus, you don't want to miss those precious first words right? I saw your entires Sap, what's today's plan? Tame cats if I remember right?"
"Fuck you." Sapnap slammed the door, trying to collect himself. Some disgusting voice in the back of his head was reiterating Quackity's words, telling him all was lost and that he was only setting himself up for false hope. But, it only took a glance at the array of pictures scattered between entires in his own diary to see the reason he fought through every first date.
"Hello! Um, do you know where I am?"
Sapnap looked up from a messy stack of first date ideas and dream SMP memory reminders to see the beautiful man before him.
The moment they locked eyes was the moment that nagging voice in Sapnap's head subsided. Every time they locked eyes for the "first time" Sapnap remembered why he'd fight for Karl every day if he needed to. But, there wasn't time for fawning over the brunette an awkward amount.
"Yup! You're in the library! C'mon, there's a map you'll wanna see- I'm Sapnap by the way! And you are?"
"Karl Jacobs! Nice to meet you Sap! Gimme the tour you clearly know what's up! What do I need to know?"
Sapnap gave his unknowing lover a calm smile, "I gotcha! There's not much you need but here's a good map of the lands!" Sapnap took a moment of serenity to appriciate the gorgeous man in front of him before Karl spoke again.
"I actually think I got it! Anything else in this musty old place I should know?"
I wish you knew how much I miss you.
~ Fin ~
A/N: Poor Sapnap. This gives me 50 first dates vibes. Also I wanted to paint Quackity as a voice of reason/doubt because I think his canonical character is that level of serious and caring for both Karl and Sapnap and I imagine their trio may have split over Sapnap’s decision to continually woo memory-loss Karl, or they could’ve never even been a 3 way thing, it’s up to interpretation. Also, I wanted to know your thoughts! Is Sap doing the right thing? Is he really just putting himself up for more hurt later? I dunno. Hope you enjoyed! Comments n stuff in reblog tags make my day :)))

Can we get something like Lancaster Heartbreak but with DragonSlayer and make it something like...ermm...uhh...DragonSlayer Heartmend where Yang heals Jaune's heart or something like that?
Dragonslayer Heartmend (Part 1)
How interesting...
---------------------------------------------------
"So this is where you've been hiding, huh?"
Jaune looked behind him and confirmed the voice to be Yang's. He sighed. He was so sure nobody followed him. He turned back to the sunset.
"Hi, Yang."
"Nice place." Yang sat next to him. "How'd you find it?"
"I was out on patrol, being chased by a Grimm." He pointed down the ledge where their feet dangled. "Managed to ambush it and push it off the edge. Landed right on those rocks and poofed away."
Yang whistled. "Nice~! You really became a badass since Beacon."
"Thanks."
"No, really. You used to be, well..."
"Vomit Boy?" Jaune raised a brow.
"Yeah, that." Yang chuckled. "You used to lose to Cardin, get the snot kicked out of you by, well, pretty much everyone, and you didn't even have a landing strategy when you showed up!"
"Was that something you learned back at your old school?"
"Nah," Yang leaned back, "I learned that when I tried to fly like my hero." She chuckled. "It turns out that I'm just not cut out to be like Roku."
"Hmph." Jaune smirked. "And here I thought you would be your own hero."
"Actually, my real hero would be my mom." She sighed. "I only picked up Roku after she died. I mean, it's not like I had anyone real in my life to fill that gap."
"Yeah." Jaune gazed down at the cliff. Memories of his hero flowed through his mind. His best friend. His mentor. His lo- Jaune shook his head.
"Hey, you okay?" Yang asked.
"Yeah." Jaune rubbed his eyes. "Sun just got in my eyes."
"Alright."
The two continued to watch the sunset as the orange glow of twilight continued to shine it's final farewell. Yang moved a bit closer to Jaune, testing his boundaries before resting her head on his shoulder.
"I miss her, too."
Jaune didn't say anything. He just sat there, staring at the sunset. With a blink, he felt something warm sting his eyes and coat his cheeks. He remembered something a lot like this, back at Beacon. With a dry throat, he spoke.
"Yang," he began, "do you believe in destiny?"
"Mm..." Yang hummed in thought. "Not really. Things just kinda happen, you know. Not like we're meant to do something, or be somewhere, or live a certain way." She glanced down at her arm. "Whatever happens happens, y'know?"
"Yeah."
"Jaune?"
"Yeah?"
"Do you believe in destiny?"
Memories swam in his head again. The crisp autumn air. The warm sunlight. The distant sounds of joy and whimsy. The smell of sugar and honey-scented shampoo. He felt a pain in his chest.
"Not anymore." He looked down to Yang. "I'm gonna head back now."
"Okay." Yang lifted her head from his shoulder and stood up. She stretched her arms up and groaned.
Jaune stood up. "You okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fi- Whoa!" A rock fell from above, almost hitting her. She stepped away, but found herself falling over the edge. She shut her eyes, suddenly feeling her a jolt and a sharp pain in her arm.
"I gotcha!" Jaune called, keeping a tight grip on her arm. He pulled her back to solid ground, catching her in his embrace. "You okay?"
"Yeah..." Yang kept her hand to his chest. She could feel his heartbeat thumping through his chestplate. She stepped away, and his arm moved to her back. "So, uh, you think that was destiny being pissed at us?"
Jaune chuckled. "I doubt it. Could have just been a goat."
"Yeah, probably." Yang chuckled. "But let's not test that theory. Let's head back down before destiny tries something heavier than a rock."
"Yeah." Jaune agreed. "Don't want it to know we think it peaked."
"Shut up." Yang jabbed his arm. "Puns are my thing." The two shared their mirth as they made their way down. On the way, Yang felt a warmth in her chest. Something about seeing him smile and laugh made her feel good, too. Really good.
Really, really good.

Kinktober day 17: Mirror sex, RK1K
Ok, this is VERY IMPORTANT!!! This has very heavy angst in it along with major self-hate. There is talks over dying or saying he should have died. Also there is established Markus/Simon with a hint of Markus/Simon/Connor at the very end. I just wanted to give a warning about the heavy angst. Also, this one was inspired by the song Creep so obviously that's a lot of not fun times akjsdhkal
Anyway, hope you enjoy!!
Everyone knew Markus was extraordinary, the whole world got to see that with his peaceful revolution. Connor had seen it when he first saw his speech. When he had lied to Hank about not noticing anything else.
Markus had easily forgiven him without even knowing the full extent of what he's done and almost did. He couldn't meet his eyes, too ashamed of his past even as Markus pulled him into a comforting embrace.
Markus seemed to know so much, he could do so much and he fit in. He stood out uniquely, but it wasn't like he wasn't supposed to be alive. Call it whatever you want, fate or destiny, he was meant to be alive.
But Connor wasn't. He didn't belong with the humans, being an android and ultimately betraying them when he became deviant and freed those androids.
He didn't belong with the androids, having done too much damage to even consider that possibility. He even felt guilty about staying with Hank. The man had enough on his plate.
Markus had his friends though, he didn't need Connor. He tried to be the best version of himself. He tried to be calm and stoic, posture perfect, and speaking only when spoken to. Yet he still faded into the shadows as Markus and his friends laughed together and fought together.
He didn't tell anyone where he was staying, well he wasn't exactly staying anywhere. He would charge at the free stations, and wandered the streets the nights he didn't need to.
He only did what was necessary and expected of him. He went to work once he was allowed, he was… he was cold. He could tell others were shocked, he acted more like a machine than he had before he deviated. Reed got even more aggressive, blatantly trying to start fights. He tried to end it peacefully but he often had to restrain him in some way, but he never pressed charges for assault.
Hank tried to get him to open up but only met a cold wall. Eventually, he didn't try as hard. He wouldn't give up on him, not completely, but it was hard to keep trying when it seemed like Connor wanted nothing to do with him.
Markus had tried the same thing, but again Connor only did what was necessary. Why would anyone actually want him around when he was a murderer? Keep your friends close and your enemies closer after all.
It broke his heart. Maybe he just wasn't supposed to be friends or have anyone love him. Maybe this was his punishment. It was a fitting one, take away the thing he wanted the most. A life for a life. Or in this cause, a life for lives. Too many lives.
He tried, he really did. He didn't know why being perfect wasn't working. It only seemed to push everyone away from him. He wanted to hold Markus again, be in his warm arms. He had felt so safe there. He'd run to him but that wouldn't be fair.
He had imagined being together, how wonderful it would be. But that would never happen. It would never happen especially when Markus and Simon started dating. They were perfect for each other. So god damn perfect. Everyone could see they were meant for one another.
Simon was sweet and caring and he never murdered anyone. He was so patient and even treated Connor just as kind as he treated everyone else.
Connor couldn't hate him. He just couldn't.
Connor wasn't meant for anyone. He wasn't meant for life or love or happiness. He knew that now and accepted it.
But maybe he could find someplace that would at least tolerate him, and so he left. He never got to see how devastated Markus and Simon both were. He didn't see the heartbreak they went through when they couldn't find him. He didn't see Hank break down again but thankfully had enough strength to not end it all.
He only ever saw his own self-hatred. It had clouded his mind so much he never saw how truly special and beautiful he was.
He didn't even leave Detroit, he simply kept to the shadows and his from anyone you may try to look for him. But he kept up with what they were doing after a few months. He knew Hank still went to work, but he decided not to contact him either.
He knew the leaders of Jericho were doing as well as they could, and he tried to help the androids who had nowhere to go. The ones like Connor that were scared and couldn't go to anyone.
He kept this up for years, two years, and six months to be exact. He had been out and about, going to charge up. He had been putting it off for far too long and couldn't wait till the night.
"Connor?" The name had him quickly spinning, already knowing who it was.
He had seen him from afar, he was always so careful to keep out of sight and never be caught. He had been so low he hadn't even noticed. "Markus," he greets politely with a small nod.
"I've been looking for you, all this time I kept looking. Did you… did you even leave the city?" Markus asked, stepping closer.
Connor swallowed and lowered his eyes to the ground. "I'm sorry to have troubled you, I know how busy you are."
Markus shook his head quickly. "No, Connor, hey. I don't care how busy I am, you disappeared. Connor, I miss you." He reached forward and before Connor could move away, pulled him into a hug.
Like before. He's so warm and soft, yet still firm. Markus kept him close, squeezing hard enough that it would be uncomfortable for humans. But it was oddly comforting for Connor. He hadn't been touched…Hadn't been hugged for so long. He had imagined being in his arms at least one more time.
He stiffened completely, he couldn't move his arms to hug back. He didn't deserve this. He didn't deserve Markus looking for him.
"Come with me? We can go to, uh, there's a cafe opened by an android. I can treat you to some." Markus said, pulling back and gently cupping Connor's emotionless face.
He knew the cafe, had helped the woman who made it. "I need to charge." He would, he'd promise to visit Markus but then he'd actually leave. Markus wouldn't need to look for him.
"Ok, they have some at the cafe I think. One you can use without going into stasis." Markus seemed ready to pick Connor up and leave if necessary.
He had to give in, just for a little bit. "Yeah, yeah I'll go with."
Markus sighed and smiled so widely it almost hurt to see. Why was he so happy to see Connor? Connor had done so much wrong, he was made for evil so why did Markus even care?
"Thank you, let's go, it's not a long walk." Markus hooked their arms together and Connor couldn't resist even if he wanted to.
"Weren't you doing something?" Connor asked, and it's so odd to actually be talking to him after so long.
Markus shook his head, keeping them close. "Nothing as important as you. Everything and everyone else can wait."
Not as important as him? That was definitely impossible. Markus was the leader of the androids, literally, everything and everyone was more important. Why couldn't he see that? Why couldn't anyone fucking see that?!
He grits his teeth but didn't argue. No one wanted him to argue back, it made him even less likable than he already was.
"Connor, you can say what's on your mind," Markus says, interrupting his thoughts.
He shook his head and tried to breathe normally. Did Markus always smell this good? He knew he did but it was still a shock to his systems. "No, it is not important."
Markus sighed but didn't press, instead moving away to open the cafe door. Connor smiled just slightly as he saw how well it was still doing. Not only were there androids but there were humans too. He could also see an android and human couple probably on a date. What a cute idea.
"Connor!" A voice boomed out and he shrunk back, trying to hide. He loves her but preferred not to be the center of attention. Which was going to happen anyway with Markus glued to his side. Heads turned and Connor moved back, Markus probably didn't even mean to, but he took a step in front of Connor, shielding him from the curious eyes.
Connor held onto his arm, and Markus gave his hand a slight squeeze. "Hey, it's ok. Does she know you?"
The woman in question quickly walked over, brushing off flour onto her apron. "Yes." He mumbled before squaring his shoulders and stepping forward.
"Hey, baby! You should have visited months ago! You know you're always welcome here and whatever you want is on me." Her voice was loud just like the rest of her personality. But for some odd reason, she adored Connor.
Markus watched the two, confusion clear on his face. How did they know each other? What was Connor even doing with his time?
"I'm sorry, I've been busy. I was actually going to charge before I ran into Markus." He nodded towards Markus who gave a slight nod.
Her eyes widened and she walked up, sticking out her hand. "Welcome! Any friend of Connor's is a friend of mine. Feel free to get anything, it'll be on me as well. Also, thanks for setting us free, that was cool as shit."
Connor bit his lip at the look of shock on Markus's face. He had to hold back the comment that they weren't friends, Connor had none, but knew it would make Markus look sad and he really didn't want that.
Markus took her hand and she practically shook it out of his body. Then she looked around and all but dragged them to a table, grabbing a charger. "There you boys go. Charge on up, you need it. Now, what do you want to eat and or drink?"
The people around them started going back to what they were doing and Connor relaxed just slightly. "I'm ok with whatever extra you have, and whatever drink."
She raised an eyebrow but didn't seem all that shocked at Connor. "Alright kiddo, now what about you hun?"
"Whatever you think is best, Ma'am." He smiled up at her and she nodded.
"Very well! You two enjoy. Connor, I swear you better visit at least once a month or I'll find you and skin you alive." She glared down at Connor before grinning and winking. Connor nodded and watched as she walked off to the kitchen.
"So, you know her?" Markus asks once Connor has himself hooked up to the charging port.
Connor nodded and stared down at the table, even though he wanted to look up at Markus. See everything that had changed and stayed the same up close. See those absolutely beautiful eyes that had his wall he hid behind cracking.
"Can I ask how?" Markus asks once he knows Connor isn't going to elaborate without prompting.
"She needed to be fixed up, so I did. Then she needed money to start the business so I worked a few hard labor jobs and gave her the money." He didn't think it was anything special, he was just doing what he had to.
Yet Markus seemed surprised. "That's amazing Connor! Have you been helping a lot of our people?"
"Your people," Connor mumbled before shrugging. "I try to help those in need. The ones who had no one else to turn to."
Markus reached out and took his hands in his own and placed a finger under Connor's chin and pushed up so he'll finally look up at him. "They are your people too, and you do know you can come to me. Or Anderson, North as well, and Josh and Simon. We all want you home, Connor. You're one of us."
Connor yanked his hands away and placed them in his lap, not meeting his eyes. "They are your people. That isn't my home, I don't have one." He didn't deserve one either. He should be locked up, but the crimes androids committed before deviation were forgiven. But what about all those androids who died because he let the FBI follow him to Jericho? Their blood was on his hands.
"Connor," Markus sighed and reached forward but Connor flinched away. "Please just promise me one thing. It's all I ask."
Connor nodded, he'd at least think about whatever Markus wanted of him. If it was in his power he'd try to do it, but there were some things he could never do.
"Don't leave Detroit. You don't have to come ho-back. But don't leave. You can keep hiding but I'd feel better knowing you were somewhere here." Markus pulled his own hands into his lap as Connor took in a shaky breath.
Not leave Detroit? How did Markus know that's what he was planning? But he had to know that he had been found. He had been far too careless and now he had to leave the one city he knew.
But Markus wanted him to stay. Why did he want him to stay? Was it because he was a liability? Connor had turned off his connections to Cyberlife, even limited his access to the internet in general. He had tried to make himself as harmless as possible, turning off some of his fighting programs as well. He kept a few defensive ones, he did live on the streets after all, but still.
"Connor, please, I can't lose you again." Markus whispers and Connor finally meets his eyes. What he sees there stops his heart. Markus, strong confident Markus, is crying.
"I promise!" He quickly says. He can't stand to see Markus cry, not over him. He can stay in Detroit, but he'll be more careful. He'll take back alleyways instead, he'd gotten far too comfortable to be walking around where anyone can see him.
Connor's hands ache to reach forward and brush away those tears he's caused. But he can't, he just can't seem to move his arm. It's like he was a machine again and forced to follow his programming.
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." He mumbled, shame covering him like a familiar blanket. He had hurt Markus again and he hadn't meant to!
"No! No, Connor it's ok. I just, we all miss you." Markus said, trying to brush away his own tears, blinking quickly.
"No! No, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." He says quickly disconnecting from the charger, standing, and running out. He can hear Markus calling his name but he was faster. He knew the streets better, the ins and outs. So he disappears before Markus can even get out of his seat.
Connor stays hidden for weeks, but he can see Markus looking for him. But it's not just that, Markus *talks* about him. He makes a point to mention the silent heroes and when someone asks if he's mentioning anyone specific, he says yes. Someone who didn't want to be named but someone Markus missed a lot and recently got to see.
All signs pointed to that person being Connor, but he wasn't a hero. Far, far from it.
He doesn't leave Detroit, he'll keep that promise. But it hurts so much. Just as much as it did the first month he had disappeared. He had missed Hank so much, he had missed Sumo, he missed North and Josh and Simon and Markus. But they were better off, safer, without him there.
Then he takes a risk. It had been exactly a month since he saw Markus and the man had a series of paintings in a gallery. It wasn't the first time Markus had done this, his art was often used as a fundraiser to raise money for androids in need.
This was a completely open one to the public. There was something that caught his attention. None of the original paintings would be on sale. They could get a signed copy, but not the original which generally would raise more money.
His curiosity got the best of him. He dressed in plain clothes, hoping to hide in plain sight. Markus would no doubt be there, but Connor could manage to stay out of his radar.
When he gets there it's incredibly crowded which helps but also caused a spike of anxiety. He wasn't fond of huge crowds but it helped hide him.
He looks at the first painting and brings a hand to cover his mouth, eyes wide. Each stroke had a smudging quality that rendered the image watery, like a reflection in a rippled puddle. But he knows what's painted.
It's him.
"Markus… Why?" He mumbled, looking around the room. It's, it's all him. Every single painting is somehow him.
He's beyond overwhelmed at the sight, all the paintings Markus has done. The time he put into each of these. But they aren't all within the last month. Connor can tell some are over a year old. Markus has been painting him for a very long time.
Markus had been painting him since the first time he left.
He walked closer and reached down, running a hand across the dried paint.
"Sir, please don't touch the art." A voice called out and he snatched his hands back. Fuck, how had he forgotten he was at a gallery and others were here too.
"I'm sorry." He mumbled to the security guard who just nodded.
He could feel eyes on him and he quickly looked around, finding the mitch-matched eyes he knew so well.
They stared at each other before Connor ducked his head and left the gallery, knowing Markus wasn't following.
His days seemed to mold together, his mind still so focused on the memory of the paintings. They were all so beautiful, but why did Markus paint him like that?
He wasn't worthy of being painted, especially not by Markus. But the paintings were also not on sale, so Markus didn't want anyone to have them. Maybe he just needed to do another gallery but had nothing else to show, so he found his least favorite works, not even worthy of being bought. Yes, that made more sense.
He was walking around, not exactly sure what to do when he heard a small bark. His head snapped up and he glanced around. He was in an almost completely abandoned parking lot, the pavement having too many holes and no one wanted to pay to have them fixed. There was one car left and he cautiously walked towards it.
What he saw inside made his heart melt. A St Bernard puppy was inside and panting quickly. The weather was far too hot, and it was clear the puppy had been left here for too long.
It was an older car, so he couldn't hack it to get in, but if he didn't somehow get in the puppy would almost certainly die.
He could also see a closed water bottle with the puppy in the back seat, but that would do the dog little good without being able to open it.
The car itself seemed to be barely operational. It could run but definitely not for much longer.
He looked around one more time before elbowing the car window hard enough to crack it in one hit. Thankfully the puppy was smart enough to drag itself to the other side so Connor could break the glass enough to stick his hands in and grab the water and then the puppy.
He sat down against the car, leaning on the tires as he looked over the puppy. How was Sumo doing? He hadn't gotten to see him except for the very few times he caught Hank taking him for a walk.
He opened the bottle and poured a little into his hand, offering it to the puppy who was in his lap. The puppy leaned forward and took one slow lick before quickly lapping up all the water it could get. Connor let it drink the whole bottle before starting to pet the puppy.
He'd need to get it to a vet soon, but for now, the puppy seemed content to nibble on Connor's fingers.
"What the fuck do you think you're doing?!" He flinched back at the loudness. "You can't just fucking do that! That's my fucking car you piece of shit!"
He ducks his head, shoulders coming up a little more as if it would protect himself. "I-I'm so-" he had just tried to help! He didn't know the owner would be back so soon, or even back at all!
"No!" The person just waves their hands in an almost 'x' shape in front of them to back up their point "No you can't just fucking do that-" he jabbed a harsh finger at him then at the car "to my fucking property, jackass! What the fuck's wrong with you?!"
He curls into himself more, his thirium pump beating harder and harder. It's like a building had fallen on him and he was struggling under the weight of it. A wave of...of something, something bad- he doesn't- he doesn't know, washes over him.
'Please stop, please stop, please stop, please stop! Someone save me please!' The words repeat in his head as the man yells. He can't, he can't fucking breathe.
He tries to suck in air but nothing is working! He covers his ears but he can still hear the man yelling at him. Shouting at him. He did wrong, he fucked up, he would be punished. They'd all be-she would be-so disappointed.
The car had no AC! The puppy had been locked in there for hours, what the fuck was he supposed to do! "Please stop." He whimpered but it was drowned out by more yelling. So much yelling.
His systems notify him that his message has been sent, but he didn't send one? Unless his pleads accidentally were sent out to someone. Fuck, fuck, fuck!
But then…. Then it stops? There's a sucking crunch and... He's shaking, he knows he is but he can't stop that. He can't look up, he can't uncurl himself. He has to protect the puppy, even if it meant taking whatever beating the man wanted to give out. Connor deserved it after all.
"Leave." The one word pierces through to him and he knows that voice. But why? Why was he here? He wanted Connor to leave. He would, he would leave right now and never come back if he could just get his body to move!
Someone, no, he knew it was Markus, crouched down in front of him. "Hey, Connor it's me, it's Markus, you're safe." His voice is so soft and he can finally look up. But even then he's a burr from the tears that threaten to spill over.
"Markus?" It's so small and quiet, he sounds so broken. He could leave now, he could give the puppy to Markus and run. Run until he was far away from Detroit.
But he doesn't do that. Instead, he falls into Markus' open arms and lets the sobs wrack his body. It was more than crying, it was the kind of desolate sobbing that comes from a person drained of all hope.
Even though they are almost the same height, Connor feels so small in his hold, the puppy still laying in Connor's lap between them. He clings onto him, hands gripping Markus's suit jacket as he buries his face in his neck.
"I'm s-sorry," he chokes out and keeps repeating it hoping Markus knows he's telling the truth. His breathing was ragged, gasping and the strength left his whole body.
He pulled away, and Markus' had to hide his own tears, especially at the sight of Connor. It was the face of one who had suffered before and didn't know if he could do it again. Then, just when Markus thought the breakthrough would come and he would trust him with his vulnerability, his emotion walled off behind a mask, he didn't know any other way.
He looked down at the puppy and gave it a few scratches before handing it to a shocked Markus. "I'm sorry, I'll leave now."
Markus wanted him to leave, he didn't need to be told twice. He fucked up all over again, he had been trying to be good for so long.
And then strong arms are wrapping around him again and he tried to push away. He's fighting to get out, to get away.
He hit Markus' chest but barely had any strength behind it. He kept hitting and pushing, but it was doing nothing. "Let me go!" He cried out, trying to stand, but Markus pulled him back down and into his lap. Connor had no choice but to fall into him.
"I'll never let you go. I don't want you to leave." Markus mumbled, pulling him so close their bodies were flush against each other. Connor still fights it but much less, the hits are more like lingering touches and Connor's LED is a solid red. Markus gently strokes his hair and Connor wants to melt into him, he really does. But he can't. He doesn't deserve Markus' comfort.
"If you really want me to let go, I will... But...."
"Markus, Markus," he keeps saying his name like a prayer because he's so tired of fighting. He thought he wanted him to leave. He thought he fucked everything up again, caused such a huge scene. Just… he's just… tired.
His body goes into an involuntary stasis and falls limp in Markus' arms. He doesn't know what happens next as the soft nothingness consumes him.
His systems slowly rebooted and he blinked his eyes open. His system had been down for 24 hours exactly, not all too surprising. If it was forced or involuntary it was either 12 or 24 hours until the android woke up.
The room was large with two windows and a desk. It was mostly bare other than that except for the paintings on the wall and a canvas near one of the windows.
Beside him in a chair was Markus, slumped to the side, head resting in his hand asleep. He even had the puppy sleeping in his lap. He looked so peaceful and so at home.
Home. Markus had taken him to his home. Connor knew that when Carl had passed he had given the house to Markus, it was all over the news that Markus was in the man's will even before the revolution.
Connor slowly sat up, making sure to not wake up Markus. He was kind enough to bring him here, but Connor didn't want to be a burden.
Of course, Markus wouldn't leave anyone on the street if they did the equivalent of passing out, it was just something he wouldn't do. He'd even help a criminal if they passed out.
He found a notepad and a pen easily, scribbling down a note and placing it on the bed.
'Thank you for helping me.'
He did what he had been doing almost all his life. He ran once again. He kept in Detroit but he really needed to stop running into Markus so much. It was doing weird things to his head. Like making him imagine a life where the two can curl up together and drink coffee, Markus playing with Connor's hair and humming softly. The light from the sun would stream in and it would be so wonderful.
But he couldn't have that. He could never have that. Someone like him deserved to be living the harshest life he could, but even now that wasn't true. He could be suffering more, the right amount, instead he lets himself get away with things like going to cafes or galleries.
The next time he allowed himself to think of Markus was when he found new art up against the back of a building. It was similar to Markus' style but done in spray paint instead of acrylic or oil.
But there seemed to be something about it. He scanned over it and his systems alerted him that he had a new image. He pulled it up on his hand and couldn't help the small chuckle. God, it felt weird to laugh even for a second. But it was just like the clues to find Jericho.
So he followed it, curious as to what it could be leading him to. It was odd that many of the paintings seemed to show up on abandoned buildings where he would sometimes rest in, but dismissed it as a coincidence since there was more art on places he hasn't been in than ones he had.
When he got close to the final destination he stopped dead in his tracks. It was leading to New Jericho. Of course, it was, Markus probably put these up himself as a way to honor the new Jericho.
He glanced at the next art and his heart stopped just like at the gallery. Once again it was a painting of him, but this time he looked serene and at peace in a person's arms. He couldn't make out who the person was as their head was turned away and no skin or hair was showing.
Markus had left this for him. Why did he want Connor back?! Did he plan on locking him up? If that was the case he could have just told Connor and he would have gone willingly. But this… it was so much like the old Jericho signs.
It was like Markus was trying to show him to safety. That Connor would be safe there, with him.
Connor would be safe with him, he knew that, but Markus wouldn't be safe with Connor. He had too much blood on his hands and would make a clear target if given the chance.
So he turned around and left, not following the rest of the paintings even though he wanted to see what they'd look like. He couldn't risk Markus waiting for him at one of them. He knew it wouldn't take much more for Markus to be able to coax him back to New Jericho.
He honestly does try to stop reading every news article about Markus, and he quickly turns away when he walks past a television and sees him there. But when he goes into a convenience store and sees one magazine he buys it.
He doesn't care about the rest of the articles, he just flips to the one on the front cover.
'Markus's Secret Lover?'
There was no way he'd cheat on Simon, none. He wasn't the kind of guy to do that. This was why so many of Connor's hopes and fantasies burned at him because they were often romantic in nature.
He scans over it and then goes over it again more slowly.
''Simon and I have talked, and we are both open to having another partner. One, in particular, we've talked about, but I'm afraid it won't happen or at least not for a long time.' Markus had said, and everyone in the studio could see the adoration in his eyes.'
What? Who was Markus interested in? Why wouldn't it happen? Anyone would be lucky to have him, Markus was amazing!
He made a scan and confirmed it was a real interview, one that had gained many people's attention. There, of course, was hate over the fact that the two were not monogamous, but Connor rolled his eyes at those. Honestly, after all this time you'd think people would stop caring if someone was gay, straight, or anything else if it didn't involve them. But no, there would always be the bigots.
''Could you maybe describe this special someone?' The interviewer had asked.
'Oh, well I'd rather not give his name. He is a bit shy, and honestly, I think he's really scared currently. I tried to show him, you know? Left him clues but he's always running away from everything. Which is understandable, but I just want him to feel safe and loved like he really is. Because there are so many that really do love and miss him.' The whole room seemed to be shocked, filled-' he stopped reading and had to sit down.
There was no way. This couldn't be real. He looked it up again and saw everyone speculating who it could be. No one guessed him outright, but many suggested whoever it was Markus had painted so much for the gallery.
Everything seemed to be lining up, but it still made no sense. Why Connor? What had he ever done to make Markus like him? To make anyone like him?
Or maybe this was just a ploy to get Connor to go to New Jericho. If it was, then it worked.
He ran the whole way there, not caring who saw him. He had to know if this was real if Markus meant what he said.
He had to know why, if it was real. How was Markus making him doubt everything he believed in? Connor knew he was a terrible person, but Markus made him feel almost good.
He didn't stop running until he was standing in front of the large doors of what used to the Cyberlife tower.
People moved around him, not even glancing his way. Other than the conspiracy theories a very small few people had come up with about his disappearance, no one seemed to remember him. It was like he never existed. Like he was a ghost.
Then one person catches his eye in the building. "Hank." He mumbled.
It's almost like the man hears him, but Connor knows that's impossible, but he turns and their eyes lock. Connor can see him mouth Connor's name just like he had and then Connor's pushing through the doors and Hank runs at him.
Hank engulfs him in a hug and Connor can feel him shaking. "Son." He mumbled, and Connor knows he's crying.
Connor doesn't hug back, but he doesn't try to pull away either. His eyes are wide, he hadn't ever seen Hank cry, not like this.
Then Hank grabs his shoulders and pulls back, shaking him gently. "Don't you ever fucking leave again, I can't lose another son." His voice cracks at the last word and Connor doesn't know what to do.
Lose another… Did Hank think of him as a son? But why? He'd only caused the man trouble and even made the man lose his job because he punched that FBI bitch.
"I don't… What?" He asked, furrowing his brows.
"You fucking heard me, don't you dare leave. Where the hell have you been?! You didn't leave a message, just off and disappeared, I thought you were dead but Markus said he could still try to contact you, some connection or whatever. I've been looking for you!" Hank is raising his voice and Connor starts to shake. But Hank thankfully noticed and his voice softened. "You scared me, kid."
"I'm sorry." He whispered, staring down at the ground. "I'm so sorry, I thought… I thought you–everyone–would be better off without me, be safer." He really did but now, fuck. Now he saw how upset everyone was even after all this time. He'd done so much damage without even being there, he had done the damage from not being there.
"No! No, I'm so sorry we made you, fuck, I'm sorry we made you feel that way. I never meant for that to happen, Connor, you have to know none of us wanted you to leave. We've been looking for you this whole time, kid." Hank sighed and pulled him back into a hug, much gentler this time.
Connor felt him start to cry and he couldn't hold back his own tears. He had missed him so much, he had walked up to Hank's house so many times, hand raised to knock on the door but always backed down.
He had heard Sumo barking at him and he wanted to just bury his face in his fur and stay there all day.
Now he's wondering why he hadn't even left a message. Why hadn't he let anyone know he was alive?
No, he knew why. Because he was better off dead, he wanted to disappear and thought everyone would forget him. But the ones he thought couldn't care less never forgot and always kept looking.
"Hank, oh god I'm so sorry! I'm so sorry, I fucked it all up, I'm so sorry." He cried, clinging to the man.
"Shhh, it's ok son, you're here now. I'm not gonna let you out of my sight. You'll either stay here or with me, no arguing ok? I'm sure Sumo misses you too." Hank pulls back and reaches up to wipe away Connor's tears. "You ok, kid?"
Connor nodded and hugged him again, not ready to let go, not again. He'd been gone for so long, he missed so much, and now… was he really going to stay? With how Hank was holding him, it didn't seem like he'd have much choice in the matter. Hank would probably start a manhunt himself if Connor disappeared again.
"Yeah… I don't know. I came to see Markus? But, uh, I'm really happy I think to see you." Even now after so long he still struggled with them and identifying them.
But he was happy, he thinks, to finally see Hank again and talk.
"Wait, holy shit!" He heard and pulled back, glancing at the voice he knows well too. "It is! You absolute motherfucker!" North shouts, stomping up to him.
Connor shrinks back and hides slightly behind Hank. He isn't scared of her, but he hated the yelling. She keeps her eyes on him and seems to stall at the look on his face.
Then tears well up in her own eyes and she breaks into a run, tackling him to the floor. She makes sure to put a hand behind Connor's head so he won't get hurt and wraps her whole body around him.
Many people are now looking over. Some seem to look shocked once they recognize Connor, others seem just plain confused. It wasn't like many new Connor other than as the deviant hunter or the one who freed the androids from the very tower they were in.
North held him tightly with her whole body, legs wrapped around him. "You motherfucker, why the hell haven't you come back?" She asked, pulling away, but still sitting on top of him.
Connor swallowed and stared up at her. Out of everyone he expected North to miss him the least or not even care. She had every reason to hate him, and he thought she did.
But maybe picking on him had been her way of showing affection. He thought she just was trying to tell him to get lost without outright saying it. "I'm sorry." He was starting to sound like a broken record, but he had no idea what else to say.
She huffed and shook her head. "Yeah, well Markus is gonna shit bricks. I figured it was you he was talking about but no one wanted to get too hopeful. Now, I'm gonna get off you and we're gonna go see loverboy. Hank, you're coming too."
"No need to tell me twice, I'm letting him out of my sight," Hank grumbled and Connor smiled just slightly.
"Wait, Hank why are you here?" Not to mention the fact he still had a gun on him along with a taser and a new weapon that was used to take down androids without doing any extra damage.
"There's a lot to catch you up on, but I help head security here. Helped keep my head on, doing something." North got off and Hank offered a hand, which Connor took.
He was beyond proud that Hank had found something to do instead of drinking all day. No doubt Jericho needed it, and Hank was especially qualified. Connor wouldn't trust anyone else with Markus's and their–Markus's people.
North hooked her arm around Connor's and started walking towards the elevator. The whole place was redecorated enough that he could barely recognize it. He even saw a few child models drawing on the walls with what was probably washable markers. He had no doubt Markus encouraged them.
It might have changed a lot but the moment he stepped in he remembered the feel of the gun going off in his hand and then the scent of fresh human blood being spilled.
He kept telling himself the bullet did it. The bullet killed them. But his brain knows that he pulled the trigger. He's the one that murdered them without even knowing their names. Did they have families they'd never go home to? Kids who waited for their dad to walk through that door one more time?
He could remember the stench of blood that filled the elevator, how he didn't even pause. He had still been so very machine-like, deviation was a slow process after all. Just because he broke through the code didn't mean he didn't follow his basic programming.
How long did it take them to clean up the blood? Would there be any traces of it left? He couldn't scan to find out, vision blurry from something. Who had to tell their families they had died. That the person responsible wouldn't go to jail, instead got to walk free.
"Connor, come back to us." A voice said, and a hand gently took his own. He snatched it back and looked around.
The blood and bodies were gone and all that was left was North and Hank looking at him worriedly.
"I'm sorry." He mumbled and gladly left the elevator. He kept his head down as the other two filled out before the elevator was closing and moved back down.
"Kid, it's ok. Maybe we can take the stairs next time." Hank offers and Connor can only nod. He had noticed Hank seemed to have lost some weight and gained more muscle back. Once again he was flooded with pride and he tried to smile but knew it didn't look right.
"Ok, so his office is down here. He's talking with Simon and Josh but don't worry, it's not as important." North shrugs and quickly leads them to a pair of closed doors. At least Markus was smart enough not to leave his door opened.
He had the urge to tell her exactly how unimportant he was but bit his tongue. He literally bit his tongue to keep himself from talking.
He stared at the doors, the other two seem to come to the same conclusion that he should be the one to knock.
He raised his fist and went to knock, but instead just pressed his hand against the door. Fuck, why was he doing this? After all this time, he should know better. Yet he ached to go in there and kiss… no, not kiss. Simon was there. But hadn't the article said the two were open for this? Ugh! It was all so confusing!
He squeezed his eyes shut, taking in a few deep breaths before exhaling and breathing out. He could do this. He had to do this.
He knocked twice, far timider than he meant to, but it still rang out in the deathly silence of the hall.
"Who is it?" Markus called out and Connor's whole body jolted. This was happening. Markus was behind these doors he was going to walk through. He'd no doubt be sitting at a desk, and the room would most certainly have paintings hung up.
He opened his mouth but no sound seemed to come out. He was gaping like a fish, fist still resting on the door.
"Uh, is anyone there?" Markus called out again and Connor had to do this.
"It's me." He tried calling out but his voice was so small and weak, he doubted Markus would hear him.
Silence hung in the air like the suspended moment before a falling glass shatters on the ground. He could hear Hank's heartbeat and the soft whirl of North's thirium pump. The silence was the most terrifying part.
Would Markus reject him? Had he read the situation all wrong? Fuck, he shouldn't have come here.
Before his thoughts could drag him down again the doors were flung open and Markus stared at him with wide eyes. "Connor." That one word seemed to break Connor into tiny shards. Ones he knew, if pressed hard enough could cut deep. But he couldn't stop himself as he fell into Markus' hug, gasping for air.
"Why me? Why? I don't, I don't deserve this!" Connor buried his face into Markus' neck. "I'm so sorry. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry." He kept repeating, his whole body trembling.
"Shhh, Connor. Hey, it's ok. You've done nothing wrong." Markus squeezed him, pressing a very gentle kiss to Connor's shoulder.
"No! No, I killed people, Markus I murdered humans and androids, I'm disgusting. I shouldn't be allowed to live, I should be shut down and used for parts."
He heard a gasp but he didn't know who it was from. The very people he ran away from, all in one room.
Markus pulled back so quickly it made his head spin. Then hands are cupping his face and Connor has to look at Markus. "Never say that. You did what you had to do. I, and everyone else here, missed you, worried about you constantly, want you here, and we love you. We love you, Connor."
"I don't deserve your love, I never have." He whimpered, tears stinging his eyes.
Markus frowns and completely pulls away. Good. He finally realized how fucked up Connor was, he realized how much of a bad idea it was to put any trust or affection into him. That he killed people.
It breaks his heart even more, but that's ok. That's what he gets for everything he's done. Every time he even thought about pulling the trigger. What he had done he could never undo. The guilt was like gasoline in his body. His insides rusted and decayed slowly in the toxicity, needing no more than a spark to set it ablaze. The fire burnt him out so badly there was nothing left but a shell, an outline of a person.
Markus held out his hand, his skin receding to expose his chassis. Connor stared at the hand. Why would Markus want to interface with him? How could he trust that he wouldn't infect Markus?
Connor shook his head, holding his arms to his chest, trying to protect Markus. But he wanted to reach out and take the hand so badly. He wanted to know what an interface with Markus would be like. He wanted to touch Markus again and again, and he wanted to try to do it without his skin. He wanted to be so selfish.
"Connor, it's ok. You won't hurt me. I just want to show you something that I don't know how to say in words." Markus kept his hand out, not moving closer but not moving away.
Connor bit the inside of his cheek, his fingers itching to reach forward. Maybe he could do this. Markus wanted him to, he was the one that offered. It would be rude to turn him down, right?
His hand shook as he slowly reached out and clasped his wrist, accepting the interface.
He's flooded with memories, Markus' memories. Before the revolution ended, how Markus was intrigued by Connor. Then moments when Markus had managed to get a fleeting look at Connor. He always stopped to stare, but Connor never even glanced his way, always caught up in whatever mission he was on.
Then it changed to the night they met. How worried Markus was for Connor, not for his own life. Connor could feel how absolutely stunned Markus was at the sight of Connor. How alive he seemed to Markus even then, holding a gun to him.
The sadness of Jericho being blown up, but there was no anger towards Connor. There was worry when Connor hadn't come out of the water as quickly, then relief when his head popped out of the water.
It was odd, feeling Markus' emotions. What was odder was all the positive ones directed towards Connor. Markus had thought Connor looked adorable soaking wet but also… Connor knew his face would be flushing blue. Markus was attracted to him.
He had sought Connor out at the church, making sure he was ok. Connor could feel Markus's want to draw him into a hug and never let go. He wanted to take Connor and his friends and go, protect them at all costs, but he hadn't. He had stayed for his people.
The absolute terror washing over Markus when Connor suggested his mission to the tower was overwhelming. There was hope, hope that Connor would make it back but also overwhelming grief.
He wanted Connor to not feel like he had to risk his life to make up for the mistakes he thought he made, or to help his people. Markus didn't want to let him go but knew he had to.
The memories skipped over until Markus saw Connor walking down the street leading all those androids. Pride bloomed in his chest so strong it knocked the air from Connor's artificial lungs. Pride and love. Markus adored Connor, wanted to keep him safe. He wanted to pull him into a kiss and show the world how much he trusted and cared for the man in front of him. But he didn't, worried Connor hadn't felt the same connection.
But he had. He had and he showed Markus that in return. He felt it the moment he saw Markus' face on that huge screen. When he lied to Hank about not noticing anything.
Markus moved on, showing his terror when they couldn't find Connor anywhere. These memories were faster, skimming over the time he was gone. There was so much guilt from Markus, so much yearning to have Connor at least somehow back in his life. It was like a part of his soul was missing.
Then they found each other, completely on accident. And it clicked. His soul seemed to click back together when he saw Connor when he got to be close to him again.
Connor couldn't watch anymore, it was just too much. He ended the connection but not the touch. A hand came up and gently cupped Connor's cheek, brushing away the tears there.
"Do you understand now?" Markus whispered. Connor bit his lip but nodded his head. He hated himself. He really did, fully and completely, but Markus loves him. He loves him so much that he can't bare to lose Connor for good.
He didn't deserve it, none of this, but he couldn't change Markus's feelings for him. He had tried to change his own but he failed completely. He was in love with Markus.
"I don't know if I can do this." He whispered, leaning into the touch. God, it felt so good. Connor seemed to fit perfectly into his hand.
Markus hummed and stepped closer, pressing their foreheads together. "It's ok, we'll be here for you. We'll take it as slow as you need. We'll get you help."
Help. He knew there were now android therapists. But would it actually work? "I can try."
"That's all I ask."
Therapy was hard, as was living in the tower. When Connor had finally confessed to his discomfort there, Markus had invited him to Carl's old house, having left it to Markus. It was huge and Connor had plenty of time to wander around and explore it.
He found he enjoyed reading and playing the piano. Painting wasn't his thing, but it was nice to watch Markus paint.
Hank barely let Connor out of his sights, but neither did Josh, Simon, North, or Hank. They were always there for him, reminding him he was loved and wanted.
It took a year and a half before Connor brought up him and Markus. Simon was there, of course, and Connor was beyond nervous. He still had plenty of self-hate but he also knew others loved him. He may not see himself a certain way but he would not deny that others did and their opinions were just as valid as his own.
Simon was oddly charming about it all, explaining things that had Connor fumbling over his words to figure out how to ask. Simon would still date Markus, the two did love each other. He wouldn't date Connor unless Connor wanted to, but he also gave full consent and even encouraged the two to get together.
Even after it was incredibly slow. Connor was touch-starved and didn't know how to initiate anything, but he also flinched away from unexpected touch. Connor hadn't kissed Markus and hadn't gone on any dates.
It would take a long time until they got there, but eventually, they did. Hank had grown old, having to retire from security, but he was always welcome at New Jericho. The androids had mostly all taken a liking to him. The androids didn't age, not in the human sense. Connor liked still as young as ever, but his processors would eventually slow in the future.
The first time they slept together, Connor had cried. Not from sadness, but just from everything. He felt so loved and wanted, Markus was so gentle with him too. He didn't know how to deal with all the emotions. But Markus helped him through it, only continuing after Connor gave the ok.
They didn't sleep together much, but Connor had gotten more and more confident over time.
It was still Markus who initiated it this time as well. Connor had had a long day, his anxiety and self-hate were strong and so Markus decided to show him just how beautiful he was.
"Markus, are you sure?" Connor asked, hands going to Markus' exposed chest. His hands splayed there, gently smoothing over the skin.
Markus pulled him closer, pressing a kiss to his forehead. "I am. If you don't like it, we can stop, ok?"
Connor bit his lip but eventually nodded. Markus plopped onto the ground and Connor straddled him, letting Markus attack his neck with hot kisses.
His skin burned and he let out a small whine, tilting his head even more. A hand runs through his hair, as the kisses become harder and more urgent. Another hand slides around his waist and pulls him close to Markus. "Fuck! Just like that, yes Markus!" Connor rocked his hips down, hissing at the pleasure that shot up through him.
Markus groaned and bit down on Connor's shoulder, bucking his hips up in retaliation. "Love how beautiful you sound, baby. I love how you say my name."
"Markus! Markus, please, I need more!" Connor felt his whole body shudder, his cunt dripping. His neck was so sensitive, and Markus knew exactly what to do to get him going.
Long fingers danced across his taut abdomen, fingertips brushing lightly over his heated skin, making the hairs on his arms stand up. Connor rolled his hips down and bit his lip, trying to keep his sounds at bay.
"So beautiful, I want you to see yourself. Is that ok now? Take off all your clothes and watch as I play with you?" Markus pulled Connor's shirt off and Connor nodded his head. He'd do whatever Markus wanted. "That's a good boy, you're so wonderful and amazing."
Connor whimpered at the praise but let Markus turn him around, pulling off his pants and damp boxers. Markus kissed the bare shoulder, resting his chin atop of it as he traced the soft line of Connor’s artificial abs.
"Do you see how beautiful you are?" Markus asks, sliding his hand up to circle around Connor's thirium pump. "I want you to say how beautiful you are."
Connor could barely look at the mirror, if he did he could only look at Markus or his hands. Those beautiful hands that knew just what to do to work him up. He shook his head, closing his eyes. He didn't want to see himself, he didn't deserve to be in Markus's arms. No… no, he did deserve this. Markus loves him and wants this too.
"Come on baby, open your eyes. Let me see those beautiful brown eyes, you know I love them." Markus purred and Connor's eyes slowly opened. "God, I love you. Do you want me to touch you now?"
Markus's hand slowly trailed down then skipped over Connor's wet cunt, massaging Connor's open thighs. "Come on baby, talk to me."
"I-yes, please touch me." He whispered, leaning back against Markus. He's so warm and strong, Connor can feel him taking all of Connor's weight. "Markus, I want you so bad."
Markus' fingers slid down and slowly rubbed in a circle, putting just enough pressure on him. Connor lets out a choked moan, bucking his hips forward and opening his mouth as he tips his head upwards, giving Markus better access to his neck.
"Yes! Fuck, yes just like that!" Connor groaned. He bit at his bottom lip, rolling his hips forward against Markus' clever hands.
"Look at yourself, baby." Markus grins, feeling him twitching beneath his hand, keeping up the harsh movements until Connor looks at the mirror.
He's spread open for Markus wet slick dripping out of him as Markus worked his fingers over his cunt. Markus was so hot and Connor's body felt like it was on fire. "You look so good, I love you so much, want to feel you inside me. Fuck, you fill me up so well." He babbled, gasping for breath. His toes curled and he grabbed Markus' hips, careful of the connection with his knee.
"Thank you, but I want you to look at yourself. If you watch yourself then I'll fuck you real good, ok? I'll keep playing with your beautiful cunt while I fuck your little hole." Markus rolls his hips forward and Connor feels his hard leaking dick against his back.
Connor whimpered and looked at himself. He was… really fucking hot. He looked so good pressed up against Markus, begging for his cock.
"There we go, you ready for me? Or do you want to play a bit longer?" Markus always made sure Connor was sure, giving him every chance to back out, and now was no different.
"Yes! Please fuck me, please I need your dick, I need you!" He rolled his hips forward one last time before Markus pulled him up quickly and smoothly sliding him all the way to the hilt. Connor gasped and his back arched as Markus freed a hand to rub his cunt.
Markus hissed, pressing a kiss to Connor's neck. "You feel so good wrapped around my cock, like you're meant for it. So hot and tight."
“Fuck,” Connor breathes. He tries to look back at Markus but Markus turns his head back to the mirror, hand going back to his wet cunt.
"Eyes front, keep watching yourself," Markus commanded. Connor whined but looked at himself again.
He's bouncing on Markus' dick, taking him quickly and fully, filling himself up so well. "Ah! God, yes, just like that!" His hips jerked, trying to fuck Markus' hand as well. He was so damn close. So fucking close he just needed a little more.
"You're such a good boy, so beautiful and panting. Fucking hell, god you make me feel so good, Connor." Markus reached up and flicked Connor's nipple. He matches Connor easily, losing himself in the pleasure of it.
Connor moaned, hips jerking wildly. Fuck, it felt so good. "Watch yourself come, baby, you look so damn pretty all spread out for me." Markus's hand rubbed quickly, and Connor shakes. He clenched around Markus, his back arching away from him.
He keeps his eyes on the mirror, watching how his face flushed blue as he came. Shocks of pleasure jolted through his body as Markus worked him through it. He couldn't deny how hot they were together. He was pretty, just like Markus said.
He whined as Markus took a hold of his hips and started pounding up into him. He keeps watching but his eyes stray to Markus's as he feels him tensing. "Connor, fuck!" Markus moaned and Connor clenched around him, taking it all.
"There we go, baby, fuck yes!" Markus panted against Connor's skin.
They both had to take a while to cool down before Connor pulled off and cuddled into Markus's lap. "You did so well, baby. I love you so much and you are a good boy." Markus pressed kisses all over Connor's face making him giggle.
"I love you too. Markus… I do kind of want to talk about Simon? It's nothing bad, I think it's actually good." He hadn't before, but he was curious now. Simon was so sweet and cared about Connor just as much as Markus did.
"Yeah? Well how about this, we all get some sleep and in the morning we can talk if you're feeling up to it. I want tonight to be all about you." Markus nuzzled into Connor's neck and pressed a gentle kiss there too.
They often shared a bed altogether, with Markus in the middle. Tonight he knew they planned on putting Connor in the middle and showing as much love and affection as they could. "Yeah, ok. Going into stasis does sound pretty good." He let out a yawn, not even jolting when Markus picked him up.
"God, I love you more than I know what to do with." Markus gently laid him down on the bed, no doubt letting Simon know he could come in.
Connor snuggled closer, a small smile on his face. He did deserve a lot of things, a lot of really bad things, but he also deserved this.

Double Date - BBRae AU
Double Date - 03
'Oh friend! You are looking wondrous!' Kory exclaimed as she looked at her friend in the mirror, after hours of styling and dressing up.
Kory had finally managed to make Rachel put on a dress, which Rachel did not even knew she possessed, and a bit of make-up.
She wore a dark purple sleeveless short dress which was adorned with lace.
It contrasted with her pale skin and fitted her just in the perfect curves. It also went with her currently sparkly amethyst eyes as she looked at her reflection in awe.
It wasn't too form fitting, nor too fancy, just the way Rachel liked her dresses.
She had put on a slight stroke of blush, just for Kory's sake, and light matte red lipstick. After many protests, Kory had slightly styled Rachel's straight black and purple hair, which were now slightly wavy and kind of looked like a combination of cute and pretty s on her. She sported it with ankle length heel boots, which was the only thing she picked.
Though Rachel would not admit it, looking at herself on the mirror, it actually made her look pretty. "Very. Very. Desirable." As Kory had so flirtatiously put it.
Kory herself was wearing a form-fitting green dress, which complimented her jade eyes. Her long fiery hair was left untied, as it moved with her in slight waves.
Their date was at 6:30 pm, and now, currently 6 pm, they were already ready to go.
'Kor, why are we going so early?' Rachel asked, putting on her boots, 'I even don't go to my business meetings before ten minutes.' 'Well, as I have gone to many dates with Richard, I believe he is already present there from 5:45 pm..' Kory said looking at the mirror and fixing her hair for the final time. Then she turned and looked towards Rachel with a sly look on her gorgeous face. 'Date ethics my dear Raven. You may tell me all about your business rules, but you'll only know about date ethics when you go on one sweetie.' She said, with a slight teasing in her voice. Rachel was already standing and all she could do was roll her eyes.
Just after returning home from her small meet with Gar, Kory and practically dragged her from the doorsteps into Kory's room to dress her up..
Garfield.
At the thought of Gar, Rachel unconsciously took a look at herself and ran her hand through her hair.
Would Gar like to see her? Would he like the way she was looking? Will their future conversations (if any) be awkward or comfortable and care-free like the one they had in the café? If she had not pulled back, would they have kissed? How would his lips fe-
'Ugh! I just can't stop thinking about him!' She mused aloud.
'Thinking about who?' Kory asked, who was standing with her hand on the doorknob with a suspicious look on her face.
Raven immediately broke into a sweat. If she tells her best friend that she was just imagining kissing a (very cute and handsome) stranger, she is never going to hear the end of it from her hopelessly romantic friend, as it would be very out of character for her to imagine about a boy at all. (Except while writing her books.)
'Thinking about.. I'm thinking abou-' Rachel nervously began, earning a raised eye brow from her friend. 'I.. just can't stop thinking about..mm.. My DATE for tonight!' She exclaimed, a bit louder than necessary. 'I can't stop thinking about what he'll be like! Kory, tell me something about him.' She said, with sugar filled voice. Anyone knowing Rachel would have been suspicious by her sugary voice, but as Kory opened the door, she just started singing about her date.
'Oh! I have heard from Richie that is the very wondrous. He had shiny silver hair and blue eyes. He loves to read books like you and is also very passionate about his work. He is also really mature and serious. And o, he also looks really hot, with toned abs and--' And now currently in the driver's seat, Rachel slowly pulled on her handy headphones, as she knows that Kory was going to tell her about her 'date' the whole car ride.
***
'Dude! We've been here for like, a lifetime!!' Gar exclaimed from his seat to his very calm friend sitting at the other side of the round table. 'We did we have to come so early!! And why is this place so empty! Kind of gives me chills..'
'Gar, we've been here for like what? Ten- fifteen minutes! Stop complaining so much.. I'm sure they'll be here any moment now.'
Currently, they were sitting at a very elite and private kind of Italian restaurant. Some kind that was apparently "Really hard to get reservations at."
It was on the top floor of a business building and had just one word to describe it- Romantic.
It had ceiling lights over it which gave it a very nice ambience. It had few tables scattered around them, most of them being empty. Gar was facing a bar with a darker lighting around it, but the part which he liked the most was a small part of the floor beside the bar, in a small little corner. It had no ceiling which made the thousand stars visible. With the soft music playing, all he could imagine was slow dancing with a beautiful girl under the stars. Slow dance with..
Rachel.
Ever since the evening, all he could thing about was Rachel. How she slightly smiles while remembering something while talking. How her beautiful dark blue eyes which almost look purple shine when he looks into them, almost like having a whole galaxy behind them. How she always pulls the stray strands of hair behind her ears, while blushing ever so slightly. How beautifully her eyes lidded while she leaned in to kiss him... but pulled away. Oh how badly Gar wanted to kiss those soft pink lips of hers... But..
Thinking about her, it almost made him jealous that she was maybe enjoying with another guy now, laughing, smiling that very precious smile of hers', or maybe kis-
'Um, Earth to BB!?!' Robin was calling him from across the table. 'Are you okay? You kind of zoned out for a moment.'
'Uh, yeah, I'm fine..' Garfield, nicknamed Beast Boy or BB asked, jumping out of his thoughts. 'You were saying?'
'I was wondering that, maybe.. I dunno, get a drink or something? I mean, I know you did not actually wanted to come here and maybe going through hell now, waiting for Star and her friend to come.. so just get a drink for yourself? I'll just call you when they arrive.' Robin said, with a slight smile and a kind of guilty look on his face.
Seeing this as his chance to escape.. As there was no way Robin was going to be in his senses after getting a look at Star, he practically jumped.
'Thanks dude!' He said, grinning ear to ear. 'Your the be- well not 'the best' for bringing me into this misery, but at least second best for being considerate.' He fled off to the tiny bar to clear his thoughts from the probable disastrous happenings of the date.. and maybe of a certain dark beauty...
***
'Well, we're almost there!' Kory exclaimed, as they were on their way to the top floor in the elevator. 'Try to be nice to your date and use as less sarcasm as possible' She said to Rachel, which only caused Rachel to scoff at 'sarcasm'.
As they entered the restaurant, Raven quickly tried to take in the scenery.
This thing is getting real.. I really have to get me something to keep me awake. She thought as the bar caught her eyes. She automatically started following Kory towards the table Richard was sitting. ONLY Richard.
She suddenly had a scheme going in her head.
'Good Evening Kory, Raven.' He said, as he gave Kory a quick kiss and Rachel a hug, as they had a brother-sister bond between them. 'So, what's up Rich-boy?' Raven asked, sincerely glad to be meeting her practically brother after such a long time.
'Nothing much, fellow-birdie' He said, smirking at his beloved lil' sis.
'Oh Richard! How lovely it is to meet you!' Kory said, giving him one of her infamous bone-crushing hugs. 'But.. where is your friend?'
Richard looked almost as if he was about to pass out after the unsurprisingly strong hug from his girlfriend, all he could do was muster an unintelligent, 'He's umm... on.. in..'
'In the rest room?' Rachel supplied hopefully, her plan full in swing now. 'Um-hm..' Richard said, dreamily looking at Kory, as she blushed.
'You know what Kory?' Rachel said, slightly feeling forgotten but glad at that thought, 'I'll just quickly come from the restroom too.. I kinda had a lot of water before getting on the car.' She said, faking her urgency. 'I'll obviously come back before my date arrives, right?'
As Kory and Richard had already started conversation, Kory slightly nodded, while taking her seat beside him.. Their backs' to the bar.
As there was no way Kory was going to be in her senses after starting to conversate with Richard, Rachel embraced her freedom and cautiously moved towards to bar, away from the two love-birds, and her probable future 'blind date'
***
Wow, she is looking so beautiful. He thought, looking at her in awe. Just what am I supposed to call this, 'Destiny'?
***
Rachel slowly walked towards the bar, finding a bartender and a middle aged woman sitting there. She took a seat near the corner as the bartender appeared in front of her.
'What may I get you ma'am?' He asked, smiling politely at her.
'Red Wine.' She answered, checking her phone absentmindedly.
'Wine?' Said a voice from behind her that she suddenly came to love. 'I was expecting more like.. Caffeine, No milk?'
She turned around and saw his gorgeous face smiling at her.
He was wearing a simple white button down down shirt, through which Rachel could see his strong muscles. Two of his buttons were decently open from the collar, which gave her a show of his painfully smooth skin underneath. His dark brown hair was looking way better than their morning's encounter, but it still looked a bit messy, which released butterflies in her stomach.
'Gar..' She slowly breathed his name. 'Nice to meet you too, Ms. Roth' He said as he gently bowed before her. He took a seat beside her on another small bar stool and ordered something for himself. And through all this, all Rachel could do was remain speechless..
The person whom she was thinking about not an hour ago, was sitting right in front of her, grinning his signature toothy (adorable) grin.
'How- when- wha-!' Was all she could manage.
He gently smiled and motioned towards the people sitting. 'Looks like your and my friend has the same destination for a date.' He said.
From there, she could see that almost everyone's back was to the bar.
She saw Richard with Kory, A really muscular dude with a shaved head who looked oddly familiar, A red-headed man with the woman who was seconds ago sitting at the bar and a blonde girl with a black headed girl and blonde man. She figured maybe one of them were Gar's date.
'What are you doing here?' She finally asked, looking at him while he took a sip from his glass, most probably red wine.
'Well, first of all I would like to say that you are looking beautiful,' He started, to which she blushed and took a sip from her own glass. 'And, actually my date wasn't here when we arrived, so my friend just told me to maybe get a drink, and in my experience, I know that once Rob sees his girlfriend, I will be long forgotten.' He finished with a relaxed smile. 'What 'bout you though?'
'Wow' Rachel said. 'You just said everything I was supposed to say... though I kinda came here by the excuse of going to the restroom.' She said with a sheepish look. 'Well, I supposes our meet is "sooner that soon".' She said, mocking the lines he wrote earlier, to be faced with a really genuine look on his face. 'You got the note..?' She nodded, which made him break into a huge smile.
'Well, you know I actually told the girl at the counter to give you the note,' He began with a comfortable and playful expression on his face. 'But she was all like...'
***
'..and that is why I took ballet lessons instead of creative writing.' She finished with a content sigh. 'But now here I am, a published author.'
'Well, I don't mind seeing you dancing in a leotard..' Gar smirked, which made Rachel blush and playfully punch him in the arm.
No one had kept track of time. They both were just sitting there, talking, laughing, teasing, and content in their own worlds'. They weren't necessarily doing anything important. Just talking about everyday bullshit and random stuff.
But it wasn't what they were talking about mattered, it was whom they were talking to.
The understanding, comfort and relaxation that Rachel felt talking to Gar, she hadn't felt in a long time. How they would talk about things as if they were old friends, laughing and opening up. She wasn't the person to talk about the past much, but being with him, the comfort and understanding made her tell him some of her embarrassing and really important moments of her life. And listening to him, she also got to know that his childhood also wasn't all rainbows and unicorns either. The connection and spark they felt between them in such a short time was beyond explanation.
'Hey,' Gar smiled, 'I know you don't like public eyes so much, but how about a dance at that corner?' He asked, pointing to the small corner from where Rachel could see the many stars.
Rachel slowly considered it. She took a look at Kory's table and saw that they were eating something, probably starters, and busy in their conversation. And she also saw no sign of her 'date'. Not many people were there too, most of them engrossed in their conversation. And a soft beautiful song was also playing. Plus, they were having such a great evening.. a dance won't cost nothing right?
She looked at Gar's hopeful face and slowly, but firmly, took his extended hand. The smile he gave by that simple gesture could light up the whole room.
They stood up and he led her towards the small opening. Just when they reached a small corner, the song, 'Rescue Me' by Sabrina Carpenter started to play.
They both smiled at each other at the literal meaning of the song. Then Gar slowly put him arms around her small waist, which made butterflies sing in her stomach, and she snaked her arms around his neck and rested her head on the crook of his neck. This simple act of intimacy was doing what not to them. They closed their eyes and slowly started swaying to the music.
Woahhh
If I smile
Dancing alone for a while
Wohoho
Would you rescue me?
And if I fall
Hoping it's in your arms
I know-know-know
You'll rescue me
Rachel smiled and she felt his grip on her tighten just so lightly.
Oooohhh La-la-la-la-da-da Woh woh woh Darling please rescue me Oooohhh La-la-la-la-da-da Woh woh woh Won't you please rescue me
Garfield was practically beaming. He took a look at the beautiful girl in his arms and closed his eyes again.
Give your heart
Baby just ease your mind to see
That it's meant to be
'Cause when I'm with you
Darling it's such a breeze
That I know-know You'll rescue me
Oooohhh
La-la-la-la-da-da
Woh woh woh
Darling please rescue me
(rescue me)
Oooohhh La-la-la-la-da-da
Woh woh woh
Won't you please rescue me
And honey if you see me drowning, Baby fish me out I'm falling. I just need a voice for calling, And can't you see I trust you always. So I will linger 'till you know, That I will never let you go, If you rescue me..
They both started wondering if the song was just for them.
If I smile
Dancing alone for a while
Wohoho
Would you rescue me?
And if I fall
Hoping it's in your arms
know-know-know
You'll rescue me
Till at the end of the song, both of them had stopped dancing and they were staring into each others' eyes. Rachel could see the sparkle in his eyes and Gar could see the small beads of tears forming in her eyes.
Gar slowly bent his head, and Rachel tilted her head forward. Slowly, their lips touched each others' blissfully. Rachel felt his painfully soft lips move against her. She also moved along, not wanting to disappoint him. His tongue slowly outlined her lips as if asking her to enter. She peacefully obliged.
Sure, their kiss was filled with heat and sexual tension, but overpowering it all was- Love. The kiss for them was pure euphoria.
Slowly, and quite unwantingly, Rachel pulled away from the kiss.
They both were still holding each other and just processing what had transpired between them. She saw Gar handsome face and pointy ears were dusted with a deep red color and she was sure as hell that her whole face was pink. A few moments passed like that, just staring into each other's faces, when Gar slowly opened his mouth to say something.
'I..mm...'
But then, both of their phones started to ring.
They awkwardly pulled away from each other, mouthed an apology and parted their ways to answer their phones.
'Hello..' Rachel clumsily answered her phone, at the same time trying to regain herself after the blissful kiss. 'Raven!' She heard Kory's loud voice through her phone. 'Where are you! Your date has arrived and is waiting for you! Please join us at the table!'
"YOUR DATE." MY DATE.
Rachel had long forgotten about her date. Now after what had transpired between her and Gar, the thought of (fake) laughing with someone else didn't suite her.
'Yeah, Star.. I'll be there..'
She hung up her phone and started walking towards Gar, when she saw him walking towards her too.
'Hey.' He smiled weekly. 'Actually my friend-' 'Called to meet our date.' Rachel finished for him. They both smiled sadly at each other and started walking towards the table. 'I guess we're going to meet again..?' Gar mused expectantly. 'We will.' Rachel smiled at him.
'You can go towards your table you know,' Rachel started as she saw them both walking in the same direction. 'Your friend must be waiting.' 'But..' Gar started with a weird look on his face. 'I AM going towards my own table.' They both gave each other funny looks and then looked at their friends awkwardly standing in front of them.
'Oh well, look at that.' Richard began weirdly, 'Looks like you both met your dates already..'
'WHAT!' They both exclaimed in unison.
'Joy!' Kory began awkwardly, getting up from her chair. 'Rachel, meet Garfield. Gar, my friend Rachel.'
Rachel and Gar looked at each other, and they felt like to burst out laughing. But instead, they looked at each other, and as if telepathically communicating, they both nodded and excused themselves to their respective friends.
'Blue Eyes! Mature and Serious! Reads Books, KORY!'
'Blonde! Out Going! Comic Book lover, DICK!' (A/N: I just couldn't find more words describing Terra instead of Backstabber, Betrayer.. And, Dick as his name, not calling names.)
'Well don't you like him/her?' Both of their friend replied as if rehearsed.
'Well..' The group of friends turned to each other. 'So, guys...' Richard started awkwardly, everything falling into place..
'Rae! Green Bean!' Suddenly a booming voice came from behind them. 'No way! Short sticks and Starfire, too!'
Everyone turned around to fine a person smiling broadly at them: Victor Stone!
'Vic!' 'Cy!' 'Stone!' Came various voices from around the table. 'Wait, you all know him!' Rachel said.
'Yeah!' Vic beamed proudly. 'Ya'll are practically my family sitting here!'
***
'Well, Star and I are going to take out the cars. You two can just wait here.' Dick/Richard smiled at Rachel and Gar.
After meeting their mutual friend, Victor, the 'date' had easily been converted to a casual 'hang-out', much to Raven/Rachel's pleasure. Still, she and Gar would blush if they look at each other sometimes through the night. They all had a great dinner and promised to meet as their now group of 5 more often. Now, they were all getting ready to leave, and Rachel and Gar were standing together alone at the small park, waiting for their friends' to drive in the cars.
'So,' Gar started, looking at her in the eyes. 'When are you going to return to Jump?' 'Monday morning' Rachel said nonchalantly. 'You've got to be kidding me!' Gar laughed. 'What's the joke?' Raven asked, not being able to stop herself from smiling at his cute laugh. 'Don't tell me you've got the 9 am, Jump airways flight.' He smiled, only to see her jaw draw open. They both shared a hearty laugh, as whatever they were doing, it turned out to be the same.
After the laughter died down, Gar slowly began, 'So maybe when we reach Jump City..' 'Please don't ask me out on a date..' Rachel punched him playfully, 'I think I've been on enough dates for the next 100 years.' She rolled her eyes, which caused him to laugh.
'No.. No..' Gar said, and took her hand in his. 'I was wondering maybe we could watch a movie in my basement.? I mean, I kinda have a home theatre.. so maybe we could peacefully watch a movie together without being in any social place.' Rachel slowly nodded, 'But under no circumstances am I paying for pizza. ' She said playfully.
'Sweet!' Gar exclaimed and punched the air. 'It's a date then.' He said slyly, mischievously holding her waist and bringing her close to him. She rolled her eyes. 'You'll just make me say it won't you? It's a date..'
'Seal it with a kiss?' Gar asked, cutely tilting his head. To this, Rachel moved forward and gave him a sweet and blissful kiss.. promising more in the future.

Flight if Destiny: Prologue
(An Ever After High fic, set in an au where the evil queen decides to be a good mom. Cowritten with @offwiththeirbuds )
It was over. Finally. Robin Queen leaned against the back alley wall. Her enemy, Snow White had decided to try and do more than banish her after awakening. She tried to have Robin arrested and tossed in prison. Thankfully Robin hadn't done anything outside the realm of their story, so there was no way to arrest her. But Robin was furious.
How dare she? Robin only did what was expected and for what? An empty, temporary marriage and a lonely future.
She could get revenge. Get power and fame on her own and a kingdom to show up that brat Snow White!
Robin sneered, that could work! She could strike Wonderland first, it was disconnected enough from the rest of the world, no one would notice until it was too late. Or maybe she could-
Robin heaved, emptying her stomach contents on the concrete. She had gotten too excited.
"Crap. Crap. What am I thinking?" Robin hissed, wiping her mouth with the back of her hand while the other gently held her baby bump.
It was a small bump, barely showing, but it was a grounding reminder for Robin. It was so easy to lose herself to the role of Evil Queen and far safer than facing the future after her story. She felt so alone without the story now. All of her friends were just starting their stories while Robin had to start hers immediately out of High school. She was only 27.
Narrators beyond, she was 27 and expecting! And she had considered world domination? What was she thinking???
She hadn't been. In that moment Robin had been scared and alone so she turned to the safety of her role. But… what safety was there in evil? Embracing it would mean she could be truly imprisoned.
"Funny, how you reminded me I wasn't alone, and you don't even have a heart beat yet." Robin muttered to her belly. She had to be better. Better than Snow who wanted her dead or tortured, better than her mother who left her alone too young. Too focused on the Evil part of the Evil Queen.
Robin vowed to be better. A Better Mother and Better Person. Robin stamped her foot, eyes narrowing with determination.
"For you my Baby bird. For you I will face the world. I will be the best Mother for you…" Robin said pulling out a small slip of paper and racing to a nearby pay phone.
The small paper had a short list of numbers. Friends from school. The top of the list was Nana Breadhouse, she may be the Gingerbread House Witch, and specialized in candy houses, but Nana also had some connections.
The phone rang.
"Hello?"
"Nana. Its… its Robin."
"Robin?! Are you ok? I heard Snow's speech. Did she?!"
"She tried to arrest me but it didn't work. Nana I need a house Im… Nana I have a kid on the way. I wanted to- I…" Robin felt tears fall. "I almost became my Mom…"
"Oh SweetPlum. Where are you? Ill come get you. We can talk after." Nana said. Robin couldn't help but smile, Nana was the kindest woman.
"I'm in Bookend outside the Library. Ill wait here." Robin said. Her hand never left her little bump, she had to fight the urge to conquer and the little lump was helping.
"I'll be there faster than you can say Taffy, hang on love." Then Robin waited.
It only took ten minutes for Nana to arrive, her Bubblegum punk hair made her easy to see in the rainy gloom. Nana's Broomstick landed and the plump woman raced over embracing the soaked Robin tightly. Robin held her friend dearly.
"Oh Honey Tea, come on. Let's get you home and dry. You can tell me what your plan is after we got some food in you."
"You're the Fairest Nana." Robin hiccuped. Her tears hadn't stopped the entire time.
"Tell me that after you're dry and warm. Come on." Nana said, pulling Robin onto her broom. Robin leaned into Nana's back as they flew a comfortable silence filling the night air as they escaped the rain clouds and finally reached Nana's home.
Nana silently ushered Robin inside. Trapper the huntsman was seated by the fire, rocking Nana's 1 year old Ginger. The gruff man looked concerned as Robin was sat down by the fire.
Trapper gently placed the sleeping Ginger back in her crib and began to sign as Nana raced around.
"Are you ok? You look awful." He signed, Robin nodded weakly, shivering in her soaked clothes.
"Im… shaken. But ok, thank you Trap." Robin said, Trapper gave a soft smile and nodded. Only to sign some rather vicious things about their classmate Snow White. Robin shook her head. "Trap its… im not fighting back. I cant. I have a child on the way. I- I refuse to be my mother. Or worse."
"You don't have to do anything. But I could get Arthur and-" Trapper started signing only for Nana to bustle between the two and give Trapper a glare.
"No. You are not storming the castle Trapper. If you try You get no Daughter time for a month!" Nana scolded in a whisper. Trapper shook his head but signed in agreement.
"You both adore Ginger so much. I hope I'm as good to my baby Bird…" Robin muttered. Nana Gently pat Robin's hand.
"You will be darling. Trapper and I have our system. I'm not denying him his ability to be in his daughter's life. And you did the right thing walking away today." Nana said. "Now I have some clothes you can use, tomorrow we can get your stuff back- Robin? Sweet Plum whats-?"
"She burned my stuff." Robin muttered, tears falling anew as she hugged herself tightly. "Snow… She. She did more than try and arrest me. She destroyed all my things. I just did my part! I just did what they expected of me…"
Nana's eyes lit aflame, fury rolling off her like an oven.
"That, that, That witch! Disgusting. I knew Snow was Twisted but this? And she calls herself a Royal." Nana turned back to Robin, eyes softening. "We will get you new clothes and goods tomorrow. I have an extra plot of land nearby you can live on. We can design it tomorrow as well."
"Doctors appointments." Trapper signed. "We can come with you too."
"You guys are too good to me. How can I repay you?" Robin asked sniffling.
"How about you babysit some days for us? We can always use an extra hand with Ginger and it will be good practice." Nana offered.
"Deal."
The next day was strange. Replacing her missing clothes had been easy. Robin knew she needed maternity clothes and she wanted to move away from her old doom and gloom vibe. She wanted to be comfortable and to distance herself from the role of the Evil Queen.
Then she saw someone she never expected to see.
"Robin?"
"Arthur?!" Robin had turned to see her best friend. "Look at you! Your beard came in!"
Arthur laughed, rubbing his blonde hair.
"Yeah and I finally lost the tit scars too. What are you doing this close to Camalot?" He asked. The two walked down the various aisles grabbing what they needed.
"Oh well. I finished my story and I wanted a fresh start for me and the Baby Bird." Robin explained, Arthur sputtered.
"You're a Mom?!"
"Not yet. I'm expecting. I'm only about a month along." Robin explained giggling as Arthur started blushing. He loved kids, but never really did well with the idea of pregnancy.
"Oh wow! Uh well congrats!" Arthur said. "Uhm… you live nearby? If you do I'm sure Merlin and Giles wouldn't mind if you dropped by. Giles was really worried when news broke that your story started so early."
"That's sweet. I would love to visit. How are your Boys doing?" Robin asked.
"Oh well… they are doing well. Milkshake is still a jackass to Giles about our relationship. But well… I'm going to propose soon. " Robin gasped.
"Really?! Oh Arty that's wonderful!"
"Actually I was going to see if Nana knew where you were. I need your help to make it memorable." Arthur said, Robin smiled.
"Of course! You're my Best Friend Forever After. What were you thinking?" Robin asked. Arthur smiled and the two discussed proposal plans.
The next few months were a flurry of building, Reconnecting with friends and doctors. Robin had no time to stop and consider the ever disapearing urge to conquer the world. Instead it was replaced with eagerness to meet her future daughter.
Robin got to visit Arthur, Merlin and Giles again. Her life was filling up with friends again and she felt lighter than ever.
Then the sonogram appointment. As she had set it up her doctor had warned her, they would not allow anyone other than the father in with her. Robin was terrified.
"Birdy whatchya doing so down?" Merlin practically chirped as he picked her up to go for the Sonogram. Robin sighed sitting beside the mage and watching the countryside roll away.
"My doc warned me they won't let anyone but the father in with me…" Robin muttered. Merlin clicked their tongue
"Ain't old Good King in a Nursery Home, senile out of his mind? And-" Merlin paused. The Mage was an empath and didn't need any other powers to know why Robin sank into depression when the old king was mentioned. Merlin nodded silently.
"Fine. I'm the Dad now." Robin jolted up, turning to Merlin.
"What?! Do you honestly think they'll believe that?" Robin asked. Merlin smirked, tossing his scarf to the side.
"They don't have too. They aren't getting rid of me. Though I'm calling back up." Merlin cooed, casting a minor sending spell before Robin could stop him.
"Who'd you call?" Robin asked.
"The rest of the fathers!" Merlin said happily. He didn't say anymore until they arrived at the office and the two enter the waiting room. Robin was stressed, clutching her bulging stomach as Merlin went to check her in. She stood near the door, when-
"They let any old rabble in here don't they?" Robin tensed as the sniveling tones of Snow white met her ears. Robin turned. The new Queen was with her Prince, Fabian Charming and obviously expecting as well.
"Snow." Robin hissed.
"Queen. What are you doing here? I told them, not to accept your ilk." Snow sneered. "Or did you break in? I can arrest you for trespassing. Better yet I should have the guards toss you out. Maybe you'll get the mess- AIYYYYYYYYYY!"
Snow shrieked as her dress suddenly burst into Merlin's iconic Pink flames. Merlin sauntered up and slung an arm around Robin. She didn't realize she had been hyperventilating until then.
Fabian put out his wife and glared at the smirking Merlin.
"Oops, sorry I still miss fire when I get stressed ya know? And our girl is expecting our little bird, of course Im stressed." Merlin purred.
"Our?" Fabian muttered.
"Yes. Ours. Move Fabian." The Charming swung around to find Giles, Arthur and Trapper in the doorway. Arthur looked slightly mortified and Trapper looked ready for a fight. But it made Robin feel safer.
"What is the meaning of this?" Snow hissed, shaking off the ashes of the fire. "I know none of you are the father!"
"No we all are. Because we were asked to be." Giles said calmly as Arthur pushed over to Robin and held her close.
"No you weren't. Merlin decided." Robin muttered to Arthur who snorted.
"You didn't say no." Arthur retaliated earning a laugh from Robin as Snow tsked.
"What ever. Just Leave, I have an appointment here!"
"So do we." Merlin said as a nurse came up, nervously fiddling with her clipboard.
"Uhm, Ms. Queen? We are ready for you and uh… your child's fathers?" She seemed to ask if the four men were with her despite knowing the anwser. Snow went slack Jared as Robin left, surrounded by her friends.
The panic the run in caused vanished when she saw her daughter the first time. She cried so hard, her baby Bird was healthy and growing. And Robin forgot all about Snow White.
Then her new home had been built not 2 miles from Nana's own home. Robin could easily visit and watch Ginger, who was growing so fast.
Robin helped Arthur propose to his boyfriends. Merlin may have been a powerful mage. But Robin was the trickiest witch alive. She was able to make the moment Magical without Merlin catching on.
And of course they said yes. The three looked radiant at their wedding. Merlin opting for a ballgown as he preferred and Giles and Arthur for a suit and armor respectively. And Robin was Arthur's Best Witch.
Then suddenly Robin was giving birth, post ceremony. Nine months had gone by so fast. And before she knew it, Robin was holding her daughter in her Best Witch suit. She was so small and pale with a little silky tuft of black and Purple hair.
Raven Queen entered the world in Summer. Greeted by her mother and her friends.

The sweetest heart in town
Pairing: Fred x Willow (romantic)
Request: I can’t find your actual request but an overview of what’s written is: A soft growing relationship between Fred and Willow, after the end of Buffy and set sometime during Angel. No real spoilers apart from why Willow relocated from Sunnydale.
Requested by: @random-woooo - Hope this is okay, love. Sorry about the wait 💖🖤
Warning: Probably the smallest implied sex reference ever. Almost painfully soft lol
Tumblr media
When Willow arrived in LA, she wasn’t looking for love. But, I suppose that’s exactly when it catches up with you right? When you least expect it.
There she was in the city of Angels, thinking it was just a typical Saturday. Boy, was she wrong. She was at a flea market over on the opposite side of the city from her hotel.
She was staying in a hotel for now, but she was seriously considering staying here. Something about the city was calling to her. Willing her to stay. She just didn’t realise why until a month from this very day in fact.
Ever since the final battle of Sunnydale, she had been more in tune with the spirits. The powers. She guessed it was some destined prophecy. It was destiny, but not in the way she expected.
As she was reaching for an antique crystal ball that had an ornate stand, another hand moved in at the same time. Both pulled away, leaving the crystal ball dropping with a crunch back on the table.
“Oh, sorry! I’m like that s-such a clutz!” the slender woman joked. She moved a strand of her hair back behind her ear as she looked down.
“Don’t worry honey, it was half my fault” Willow smiled, starting to get her purse out to pay the man who they had just broken his merchandise.
“Oh no, I couldn’t let you do that! I, um, I have-” she took out ten dollars and offered it to the man who started to tell her that
“Not enough, ladies”
“Twenty?” Willow asked, offering more but he still shook his head, leering at them both.
“Forget” Willow muttered to the man before turning back to the sweet woman. She was surprised when he told them to buy something from the stall or leave. She turned away and looked back twice a little confused but Willow joined her.
“I’m so sorry, I was real excited and-”
“Hey, don’t worry, how about you take me for a drink to, y’know make up for it. U-unless, well, you don’t drink or you don’t like-” It was Willow’s turn to be nervous. She wasn’t really used to just trying to pick women up on the street and if she was honest she wasn’t entirely sure if she was doing this right.
“Oh! Oh, um, yeah, well I-I’d really like that” Fred smiled, she had been surprised at the question and even more surprised
She hadn’t really dated women. I mean, as an adult. She had kissed a girl in college, once. But never really acted on anything since then. I mean, she was stuck by herself in Pylea for years. There wasn’t any chance to express an opinion let alone her sexuality.
She had never discussed it with anyone and she kept it to herself. She didn’t tell her friends at work she just carried about her day. They had decided to meet for that drink in a couple of days time.
But the powers had other ideas for Fred that day. There was going to be someone new joining them for a while at Wolfram and Hart, someone that Angel used to work with. They all waited in a meeting room for their new arrival.
Willow walked in and Fred gasped.
She hadn’t really told anyone about the woman she had met, even less about the fact that she was interested in women. She wasn’t embarrassed or anything like that, she was just not one for a big announcement.
Willow saw her face in the crowd instantly and smiled warmly. The meeting could start now Willow had arrived and Fred was hanging on every word, every drop of knowledge she could soak up both from and about the redheaded woman. She had such intelligence paired with such modesty. Fred found herself not able to look anywhere else.
That was, until Angel asked her to explain a complex theory she had developed about a portal that was sucking people into hell dimensions (which appeared seemingly at random to begin with). Fred was still staring until Wesley cleared his throat. She jumped and started talking a mile a minute, her hands gesturing so that she was punctuating every word.
She didn’t realise but Willow was watching her with the same reverence she had afforded her only a moment ago. The not-so-subtle glances weren’t lost on the people around them who were now their biggest supporters.
After the meeting, as Fred stood at the back of the room, Willow made her way to her instantly.
“I, uh, didn’t realise you were such a powerful Wicca” Fred complimented her.
“I didn’t realise you had such a brilliant mind” Willow replied sweetly, her eyes scanning Fred’s face. She had adored hearing her speak about such complex theories. A mind that rivalled, or more fit perfectly with her own. Willow was willing her interest to continue despite what she now knew about her. Some became intimidated by her reputation now, she found. This woman before her had such promise and Willow had so much love to give after everything. She willed her to feel the same promise she did.
“Aw, no” She waved away Willow’s compliment, “I would love to pick your brains over the Pergamum codex.”
“It’s a date” Willow confirmed softly again. She could tell, with Fred’s eyes wondering around the room that she was a little nervous about this.
But still, Fred smiled, her nose scrunching slightly tucking a strand of hair behind her ear before turning around and slightly awkwardly nodding and walking away. She was shy at how much hope she put into this. How deeply she read into Willow’s words. She hadn’t let herself open her heart since she returned from Pylea. She had been trying her best to cope on her own, but the thought of accepting someone in this way made her vibrate with contradictory feelings.
Willow watched her leave and Cordelia put two thumbs up after shamelessly eavesdropping on their conversation. The redhead just nodded a bit bemused at how different Cordelia was since high school.
Their evening came. The date that would begin it all. Something they hoped but would never say out loud. They tried to take it slowly, but they got on so well. They met at a bar, the atmosphere one of comfort and possibility.
They spent the entire night just talking. Laughing. Even crying at one moment in the early morning as the dawn light began to filter through. They had never met a heart that beat in time with their own. A soul that both cried out and listened in the way they needed.
The night ended, with Willow and Fred walking together through the streets. Still gushing to each other. It was Fred’s turning to her place and she stopped to explain this.
Their goodbye was never going to be final. Both knew their lives were now meeting towards the same path. An adventure that awaited them. They smiled, hushed farewells exchanged.
A strand of Fred’s hair moved to hide her face partly. This time, Willow reached out and tucked a strand of Fred’s hair behind her ear for her. Leaving her skin tinged pink at the proximity.
It was months later and the pair were fast in love. They both knew that life was too short for them to shy away from such affection. They had moved in together. Some believed it may be too fast but they knew otherwise. They knew each other’s hearts. They had learned to trust again. Learned to love.
There was no doubt in either of their minds that the other was their person. It was a soft love, sensual and kind. It was a breath of fresh air for both. After all they had been through. Knowing that it had to happen, to wish to embrace each other this way.
It was a lazy Sunday morning. The light filtered through, golden and hazy.
The room was warm, the air around the room smelling of sex and the promise of a warming summer’s day. Such promise that their love propelled.
Will caught Fred’s lips in a soft kiss after she crawled back up the bed to lie beside her love. They nuzzled against each other in bed softly before each rolled onto their backs.
There was only a thin, crisp sheet separating their bodies from the cool room. Their hands entwined as they stared at the ceiling, their chests heaving. Smiles on their faces as flushes skin brushed against flushed skin.
They basked in the glow of their intimacy for a moment. Before Willow rolled back and stared adoringly. They started to whisper, soft thoughts. Shared affections.
Before Fred’s brow furrowed slightly. She was deep in her thoughts once more despite her current bliss. She tried to smile despite herself but Willow’s hand was on her soothingly. Her skin warming with her words.
She alluded to Pylea, to where she had been trapped for much too long. Fred insisted she didn’t mind it, it led to her being with Willow. But Willow insisted it was important for her to speak about it and not play it down. That she was here to listen to everything, the good memories and those that may be harder to
Fred spoke slowly, dancing around the darkest days that even she was not ready to think on. She whispered softly of
Willow’s mind and heart ached for her love, feeling it as intimately as she spoke of it.
“Aw, baby, you have the sweetest heart in town” Fred’s face lit up with her smile and Willow glowed with the compliment. She shook her head, about to protest. She loved her girlfriend, of course she would be there for her.
But Fred hushed her with further soft kisses. Each brush of her lips a tender sonnet of her unending affection. She wished not to dwell anymore. She knew Willow would always be there.
Neither thought their hearts would find a love like this again. Their souls united in such beautiful matrimony. Their love was such a sweet love, sensual and kind. Their hearts belonged to each other before they had met that day, their names etched deeper and deeper as time went on.
Soft skin on soft skin. Their love burned bright. Sleepy kisses and hands running over their lovers naked bodies. This was theirs, for always.
A love that could never be taken nor torn. Quelled by any insecurity or troubled past. Their hearts were sweet, for each other.
