i was thinking about how boyfriend!frat peter would swing his way back to trouble and like thinking if she needs something or what she was doing all the time he was on patrol like
"has she seen the episode we didn't get to finish?"
"nah, she wouldn't... right?"
"i hope she forgot bout it"
"i think she ran out of toilet paper"
"gonna be so mad if she saw that episode without me"
kinda messy in a peter way but he likes to find himself thinking about her after being spiderman because sets him down to earth again <3
the second peter had his hand on your window, your laptop slammed shut. you were sitting a little too straight up, your hands in plain sight.
'were you watching porn?' you sputter, the idea making your chest feel warm. 'no! i was just looking at stuff.' peter's eyebrow quirks, 'porn stuff?'
'no!' your eyes flash around the room, it's a guilty look. 'oh, c'mon, it can't be that bad. what kind of stuff are you into?' peter swears he's joking, but when he playfully reaches for your computer you flatten yourself on top of it.
'holy shit, it really is porn.'
'it's not porn! it's... it's... for you. yeah, it's for you and it's a surprise!' your boyfriend blinks, 'you have to believe the lie to sell it, trouble.'
you couldn't be caught, peter would never forgive you.
'you got me at a bad time, you were supposed to call me on your way over.'
'did you miss me that bad? you had to pregame my arrival?' you huff, sitting up and fixing your hair, you don't realize how close your boyfriend got.
'i wasn't doing that!'
'you were about to.'
'no!'
peter's having way too much fun, 'then what were you doing?'
'i already told you, nothing!'
peter's quick, he grabs your laptop but not before you catch the other side. a gentle game of tug and war. 'i'm gonna look.' you tug, it's useless, peter could rip it from your grasp in a second.
'no! not allowed!'
'then tell me what you're hiding.'
'no!' you screech louder when he takes total ownership of the machine. guilt washes over you, you've been caught red handed. the only solution was looking at your knees.
your boyfriend gasps in horror at the screen, it sounds like how you knew he'd feel about it.
'i'm sorry, peter. you were never supposed to find out.'
'how could you do this to me? to us?'
you can't even make eye contact. 'i know, i'm sorry.'
it's like it chokes him to say, 'how long has this been going on?' you look up at him, if you plead he may accept your apology.
'not long, i promise! it was just today.... and maybe last week. but i swear i'll never do it again.'
'this hurts, trouble. this really hurts me.'
sure, maybe you did betray his trust a little. but he's the one that got you hooked in the first place, he can't push all the blame on you.
'but you've already seen it! and i really wanted to see the next episode and you weren't here and i figured it would be okay... but that was four episodes ago.'
'fine. but you need to keep me updated, because the only reason i'm rewatching it is so i can experience it with you.'
a subtle confession, something you weren't supposed to take to heart, but you did. the whole reason peter got you watching was so he could relive all his favorite parts, but with you.
you pout, peter pushes your computer back in your hands and points at your bottom lip. 'no. you dug your grave, you don't get to be sad that i'm sad.'
'but i'm really sorry.'
'sorry you got caught.'
'no! i'll never watch it without you, i promise.' except you were in the middle of a very juicy scene and you're itching to press play. peter can read you like a book.
'you wanna do it right now, don't you?'
'no.' ..... 'yes.' ..... 'but i won't.'
'god gives his hardest battles to his strongest soldiers.'
peter doesn't understand the restraint you're showing. 'you stink, go take a shower.'
'promise you won't keep watching?'
it's hard, but you can do it for him.
'promise.'

Okay y’all… I was very critical of eps 3 & 4 (especially 4) of NAtLA. Then all of a sudden eps 5 & 6 kinda slapped me in the face with how much better the show suddenly got.
Spoiler-free thoughts first:
Zuko, Iroh, and Aang have cemented themselves as the best parts about this adaptation - which is really funny considering I’m currently writing a longfic AU where Zuko and Iroh discover Aang in the iceberg right after Zuko is banished at age 13 and end up becoming the first members of the Gaang (albeit reluctantly at first lol). Episode 6: “Masks” (the Blue Spirit adaptation) was so good, I’d venture to say that it actually improved and fleshed out some things from the original series.
Episode 5: “Spirited Away”, while not as good as E6, was not as bad as I heard people say it was going to be. I think that the changes they did make didn’t bother me nearly as much as the changes they made in the last episode, and it was actually entertaining.
There were several scenes that made me cry in both of these episodes (moreso in episode 6, which I’ll get into further down in the spoiler section). These are the scenes that I feel like really tapped into the heart of the original show rather than feeling like a soulless remake.
Now for my in-depth thoughts (INCLUDES SPOILERS):
EP 5: “Spirited Away”
- Staring out, I was bummed because I had just rewatched the first two eps of the original animated series lol.
- It was an interesting choice to have all three members of the Gaang get stuck in the Spirit World, but I think it worked.
- Wan Shi Tong just showing up randomly was a bit unnecessary, but I suppose it will be kinda interesting to see him again in S2 since he’s already met the Gaang
- Hei Bai plays a much smaller role in these eps, but I strangely didn’t mind that either?
- Seeing Katara’s last memory with her mom was devastating, especially the fact that she had to witness her death and hide in the igloo with Kya’s charred body :(( she definitely has severe PTSD.
- Even Sokka’s memory made me tear up a bit
- Koh being the villain and a soul-eater or whatever was a bit of an odd choice, but I guess I can see why they did it. I do prefer him just being an asshole who steals ppl’s faces lol
- Appreciated the Fog of Lost Souls reference from the LoK lore
- Aang reuniting with Gyatso made me cry. I know some people didn’t like him being in the Spirit World, but I really liked it. Also, the fact that Gyatso was the first person to tell Aang that it wasn’t his fault the Air Nomads died, and that if he had been there he would have died too? THANK YOU! My poor boy has been berated enough for “abandoning” the world.
- We got some interesting lore about the afterlife for humans from Gyatso and Aang’s convo, which we’ve never gotten in AtLA media before. Idk if it’s just for Air Nomads, but Aang mentions that Gyatso stayed behind instead of “seeking enlightenment”. I know that the end goal in Buddhism is to reincarnate until you eventually achieve nirvana, so I wonder if that’s what they were alluding to (I’m not an expert on religions so pls correct me if I’m wrong)
- Oh yeah, I forgot June is here lmao. As a queer person I loved her (bc beautiful goth woman) but I didn’t like the weird choice to make her hit on Iroh - I guess to contrast the Iroh being creepy towards her thing in the OG series. I wish they would have just had them interact normally tbh, no weird “flirting”
EP 6: “Masks”
- Here we go y’all. The best episode in the show so far and probably the best the show is gonna get this season. I’m still pretty shocked at how good this one was.
- I think the decision to include flashbacks to Zuko’s Agni Kai was a good decision here. It felt like an appropriate episode for them and the flashbacks were very well done.
- In general, Dallas is doing a phenomenal job at portraying a Zuko who is angry and aggressive, yes, but also so very sweet and compassionate at his core. I love when little inklings of his true self shine through.
- Roku was… not what I expected. He was very much more of a lighthearted and jokey person… I didn’t hate it, it was just unexpected lol. I wonder if they did that to contrast him with Kyoshi. Which, speaking of, I’m glad Roku clarified that Aang doesn’t just need to be a merciless warrior (and that he didn’t berate Aang for “abandoning” the world like she did). But I still am annoyed about the mischaracterization of Kyoshi in general.
- RIP Shyu :/
- Thought it was kind of strange how June captures Aang at Roku’s temple lol. Like how did she get on and off the island??
- Zhao continues to feel like a completely different character to me lmao. I think this version is pretty funny, but it’s so weird to see Zhao being portrayed as so goofy and incompetent when he was such an intimidating force and the main villain of Book 1 in the OG series. Just a weird direction they went with his character.
- The Yuyan archers look cool as fuck. 10/10 no notes
- Still not sure how I feel about Azula already being this insecure and jealous of Zuko. I think it makes her feel a bit more realistically like a child, but the whole point of Azula’s character is that she is really good at maintaining this cool and calm persona on the surface, which she uses to scare and manipulate people. I can see her maybe getting to a point later on to where she hardens herself into that though. We’ll see.
- Baby Zuko asking Iroh how he looks and his little smile 😭😭😭😭 I had a physical “aww” reaction to that. THAT’S MY SON (me and Iroh shouting in unison)
- War Room scene was handled very well. No complaints. I like how Ozai tried to test Zuko with battle strategies.
- Blue Spirit break out scene was extremely close to the original, and it was really good. They adapted it almost shot for shot with all the important parts.
- Here’s probably my favorite part of the episode: Zuko and Aang’s talk inside the abandoned house after they escape from Pohuai!!!!!! Gahhhh I could gush about this scene all day. I love how they expanded it to be an actual friendly conversation between Aang and Zuko. Like we get to see Zuko’s true self coming through - the sweet, kind boy we know he is. Zuko and Aang just have such great chemistry as well, wayyy more than Aang has with either Sokka or Katara. Like I adored them bonding over painting and caligraphy!!! I think this is the best acting we’ve seen from Gordon so far, and Dallas did a phenomenal job switching back to that hurt, angry version of himself (of course a trauma response). And the fact that Aang said “sorry, I didn’t mean to hurt you” when he blocked Zuko’s firebending attack??? My sweet boy 😭
- The final flashback to the Agni Kai was really well done too. I’d already heard Zuko fights back, which I wasn’t sure I’d like, but I actually didn’t mind it. I really liked that they showed Zuko’s hesitation whenever he did actually have an opening, and that was what angered Ozai the most - Zuko showing compassion, “weakness”. Daniel Dae Kim is of course doing a phenomenal job (no surprises there), and I really liked that Iroh actually attempted to stop Ozai at one point. It also looked like young Azula had tears in her eyes, which I again actually liked because it humanizes her.
- I loved that Aang was still there when Zuko woke up on the boat 😭 he wanted to make sure he was okay!! I full on started crying when we got the “do you think we could have been friends too?” lines from him. Again, Gordon killed it. I love how you can tell that Aang knows Zuko has been hurt and that’s why he acts the way he does. He doesn’t blame him for any of it. 10/10
- the last flashback to Zuko in his bed recovering from the burn… god the tears just kept flowing. I really liked the choice to have Ozai almost give Zuko a chance to like… idk understand why he did what he did, and how compassion is “weak”?? And then Zuko’s response to give people a chance 😭😭😭 as if I couldn’t love him any more!!! And then of course Ozai gets pissed. But seeing baby Zuko just cry in his bed UGH I’m dehydrated at this point
- Of course I can’t finish this review without mentioning the 41st division. What an incredible way to expand upon the source material by making them Zuko’s crew!!! It shows just how much Zuko truly cares about others and it moved me so much (once again to tears).
I don’t have high hopes for the last two episodes, but honestly, if this is what the live action can be, it gives me a bit of hope (at least for future seasons). I really think that Dallas, Gordon, Paul, and Daniel were the stars of this ep and are a big part of what made it so good.

911 spoilers, canon compliant to 7x05, Pre-relationship buddie, fluff, extended scene
Ao3 Link
They sit quietly for long moments after Tommy’s agreed to join Buck for the wedding, Buck's hand a pleasant weight on Tommy’s own, and their matching grins never wavering. It feels good, Tommy thinks, to just exist in the same space. He feels a little infatuated with the way Buck smiles so sweetly and lets himself be vulnerable—all the walls he'd built up before crumbling down to let in the bright joy Tommy’s realizing the kid radiates so much of the time.
It's a good feeling.
But nothing lasts forever, Tommy thinks, so he's not entirely surprised when Buck’s smile falters a bit and he pulls his hand back to busy himself sipping at his coffee. He has something to say. Tommy can see it in the way he can't seem to sit still, hands in constant movement and leg clearly bouncing beneath the table. Tommy waits him out.
“So, uh, I—” Buck takes a stuttering breath finally, trying to calm himself as his expression shifts into something that looks unsure again “—I told Eddie.”
That takes Tommy by surprise. He's not sure he'd expected the kid to open up that quickly after the debacle in the restaurant. “Did you?” he prompts, curious.
“Yeah, uh. Eddie's a really good guy,” Buck supplies, like Tommy doesn't know.
Tommy huffs a little laugh at that and nods along as he says, “yeah. Yeah, he is.”
He means it to be reassuring, but Buck bristles a bit at that—just a brief tensing of his shoulders that he shakes off as quickly as it comes. But Tommy catches it. Snaps his mouth closed to let Buck continue and makes a mental note that Eddie might still be a sensitive topic where Tommy’s concerned.
Once Buck gathers himself, he continues, again settled back into the soft, open demeanor he'd started with, and Tommy watches him curiously as he smiles and says, “yeah, he's the best. And I got in my head over it, because I can't lose him, you know? Eddie and Christopher are just. they—they're really important to me, you know?”
Tommy hums in agreement and nods. Doesn't dare interrupt again as Buck spills half of his heart into the space between them.
“I just. Eddie's always been there for me. Even, uh, even when he had every reason to turn his back on me,” Buck confides. And Tommy’s not entirely sure what's opened the floodgates, but he's simultaneously grateful and increasingly suspicious that Buck might be subconsciously laying claim to Eddie and everything they have after Tommy’s misguided interruption. “I should have known that it would be okay, and I should have just been honest with him then and there, and I am so sorry that I made everything weird the other night.”
Ah, Tommy thinks, a little amused, another apology, then. The kid is sweet, even if he could use a little more confidence.
“Listen, Evan,” Tommy tries, all warmth to try to put him at ease, “I get it that you weren't ready to tell him. And, yeah, it was a lot to take in with exactly how you tried to lie around it, but you don't need to justify yourself to me or defend Eddie.”
Buck looks a little sheepish, then, picking at the lid of his coffee, the plastic making little popping noises every time he flicks it with a nervous finger. “Yeah?”
“Frankly,” Tommy starts, a hint of amusement in his tone, “I don't think there are many of us who would have come out to anyone in a crowded restaurant while on a first date. Seems like a lot.”
Buck laughs genuinely at that, like it's finally hitting him that, yeah, maybe the run-in at the restaurant wouldn't have been the place to do it, and Tommy can't help the way warmth blooms in his chest at just how sweet and loving and a little bit silly the man before him is.
For a few moments, they're quiet, then. Buck ducking his head in embarrassment, even while that sweet smile stays firmly in place, and Tommy sipping at the terrible coffee Buck had bought him. There's no tension in the moment—the nervous energy Buck had brought to their first date out of fear of being found out now replaced with a different kind of nervous energy. One that feels an awful lot like a kid with a crush, and Tommy can't even judge him for it because he thinks he's feeling it, too.
“So,” Tommy finally finds his voice, changes the subject to something that feels a little lighter and safer because he likes the way his stomach is filled with butterflies and the way Buck's smile kind of takes his breath away, and they don't need any more heavy apologies. So he asks, all curiosity, “is this your usual order?” as he eyes the scrawl on the cardboard sleeve of his coffee cup. It looks decidedly different from what's on Buck's.
“Uh—no,” Buck admits a little flustered at the change in topic, “n-no, it's uh, it's Eddie's, actually.”
“hmm,” Tommy hums, pressing his lips together and letting an eyebrow quirk just a little as he examines the coffee sleeve a little closer, “not sure I would have pegged Eddie as a cream and sugar kind of guy.”
Buck stays quiet but nods with a fond smile, picking at the cardboard seam on his own cup. Tommy can't quite see the markings on Buck's own cup clearly enough to read them, but he's curious now.
“Why Eddie's?” Tommy asks, fond smile still in place because if nothing else the kid is adorable—just a bundle of excitement and nerves—and Tommy knows he should probably give him a break, but he kind of likes riling him up.
“Uh,” Buck blinks, tilts his head and scrunches his brow like he’s not sure. Then, after a moment, he shrugs, “I don't know. Felt weird to get you my regular order, you know? And you, uh, you and Eddie have a lot in common, right?”
“So you figured we'd have the same coffee order?” Tommy laughs, genuinely amused, and it makes Buck smile wide. The kid's got an excellent smile.
“O-kay, laugh it up,” Buck retorts, grin widening and brightening up those pretty blue eyes even further. Tommy thinks he might be a little smitten. “It was the first one that came to mind.”
“Mmm, okay,” Tommy presses his lips together around the toothy smile he suddenly realizes he's still wearing. Can't give himself away altogether on a second date. Knows, still, that Buck can see the glimmer of fond amusement in his eyes. “So, you do a lot of the coffee runs for the 118, then?”
“Wh—” Buck looks confused, shakes his head and blinks until suddenly it looks like the implication sinks in and he stutters his way through a nervous response. It's sweet. “Uh, no. No, uh, actually, I have a-a terrible memory for coffee orders. So, uh, I'm usually last pick.”
“But you know Eddie's.” Tommy can feel the way the corner of his mouth tips up in an amused smirk. Tries hard to play it off.
Buck blushes and ducks his head again like he’s been caught. Rubs at the back of his neck and tries to gather himself, even as the pink of cheeks spreads to his ears. Looks like he's trying to find a response that won't give him away.
“Yeah. Yeah, I do know Eddie's,” he finally settles on, lifting his eyes to meet Tommy’s. It feels a bit like a challenge. “But I'd like to know yours, too.”
Tommy nods. There's still a fond smirk tilting his lips, and he knows—he knows —he probably shouldn't be getting attached here. That there's something more to the best friendship Buck keeps claiming for himself and Eddie like he’s trying to convince himself of something. And Tommy’s not sure if Buck knows yet, if he's realized the challenge he's just issued.
And Tommy knows he won't win. Knows that whatever it is Buck and Eddie have is the lasting kind.
But hell, it never hurt to have a little fun.

Okay...going to wade into the Sabezra discussion. May the flying spaghetti monster in sky have mercy on my soul...
I guess you could call me a "causal viewer" because, despite being a life long Star Wars fan, I'd never watched an episode of Rebels before watching Ahsoka. I just never got around to it and I've only watched a handful of eps of The Clone Wars too. But anyway once I started Ahsoka I was like "this show will clearly make more sense if I watch Rebels" so I started. I'm almost done season 3 of Rebels as of writing this post. And really loving Rebels btw. Part of me of like "why didn't I watch this earlier?" but on the other hand I don't have to wait for the next episode and I know the major spoilers already so I'm not going to get the rug yanked out from under me.
So back to Ahsoka and Sabezra...the big questions. Did I see the romance "coding" (not sure I agree "coding" is the right word but whatever, that's semantics) in Ahsoka? Yes. Sabine's actions definitely come across as her being in love with Ezra to me. That said I can also see the platonic angle, especially after having watched some of Rebels, so I'm not going to tell anyone they are wrong for viewing Sabine and Ezra's relationship as platonic. These things are subjective and open to interpretation until anything definitively romantic or definitively not romantic happens on screen. And at this point nothing definitive has happened either way on screen. Nobody has been proven right and nobody has been proven wrong yet. Sabezra is basically schrodinger's cat right now.
Next how did I interpret the "like a sister" line in Ezra's holo. Um...full disclosure the first time I viewed that scene I didn't even register that he'd said she was "like a sister" to him. I'd never even seen Rebels at that point so I didn't know Ezra yet. So as a causal viewer my take away from that scene was Ezra meant a lot to Sabine and Sabine meant a lot to Ezra. And I'd be wiling to bet that that was the takeaway for most causal viewers.
So on rewatch do I think the "like a sister" line means that Ezra truly sees Sabine as a sister? No. On rewatch, paying close attention to the body language, and after having watched some Rebels, I think Ezra is both struggling to find the words to tell Sabine how important she is to him and telling her what he thinks she needs to hear in that moment. The problem is that in English we don't have a word to describe someone isn't technically family but who isn't a lover either but who's also way more than "just" a friend. Sister is the best word Ezra can come up with in that moment but you can tell from his awkward body language and his literal scoff as soon as he says it that its not the right word. And yeah I think Ezra thinks that Sabine sees him as a brother so he tells her what he thinks she wants to hear right before he heads of on what very well could have been a suicide mission.
Do I think Sabezra is going to be made canon on Tuesday's final episode of Ahsoka (of season 1 at least). No, but hold on nobody panic!!! I also don't think that means Sabezra is dead in the water either. And frankly I'm kind of mystified as to why Sabezra shippers seem to think that the next episode is make or break for Sabezra when its clearly not? If there isn't a love declaration or a kiss or both (which is what I'm assuming people would interpret can them being made canon) its not like either Sabine or Ezra are going to marry someone else on Tuesday either. And since much of Ahsoka has been set up, meaning not much is actually going to get resolved in the next ep (Thrawn hasn't even left Perida[?] yet! I fear we are ending on a cliff hanger), we'll be seeing Sabine and Ezra again. There's no rush for them to get together romantically (and I know that's hard to hear for people who've been shipping for years but its true).
And further to the "there's no rush" point I actually have to say I that I think its WAY too soon for anything definitively romantic to happen between Ezra and Sabine yet (and again I get how hard that is for those who've been shipping them for a long time). And I say that as both a "casual viewer" and someone who's also watched a good chunk of Rebels now. For the causal viewer who hasn't watched Rebels, which is probably a big chunk of the audience for Ahsoka, they barely know Sabine, have just met Ezra and have only seen them interacting for ONE episode and don't know any of their history. A kiss or a love declaration would seem out of the blue at this point I think. And as someone who's getting into Rebels I still think its too soon. While I agree that Sabine is very likely in love with Ezra I don't think she's admitted to herself yet (that's why Baylan used the word family when he was getting her to hand over the map thingy imho) no way is she ready to tell HIM. And as for Ezra...dude is clueless that Sabine might might have non platonic feelings for him so no way is he going to risk ruining their friendship by blurting out that he's in love with her. And not only that they've been separated for 10 YEARS ffs. They need to get to know each other again before anything romantic can happen, again imho. I want Sabezra to become canon but I want it done WELL. Sabezra is a friends to lovers ship, they are still firmly in the friends stage right now, it needs to be a sloooooow burn.
And finally do I think Sabezra will become canon? Honestly...I don't know. I'd like it to, it would be really nice to have a non problematic ship, especially after the sequel trilogy robbed us of FinnRey and tried to force freaking r*ylo. But I think Filoni and the other powers that be over at DLF (he is NOT the sole person calling the shots here, keep that in mind everyone) are probably testing the waters right now and waiting to see what the audience reactions are like before they make any decisions. I'd be wiling to bet that by the end of Tuesday's episode the door will be left wide open for pretty much anything to happening shipping wise. So we'll just have to wait and see. Time will tell, it always does.

OFMD S2 EP 4-5: Izzy Hands (from a S1 Izzy fan)
I'll admit. I teared up at the Izzy shit in ep 1-3. Not a full-blown cry. But close. I was stressed, and tired, and hurt more than anything. I only cried in my car driving home. It hit, but it was more prolonged.
Do you know what got me crying? Izzy opened that letter, revealing 'For The New Unicorn'. He looks up and smiles. I went from 0-100 dry eyes to crying in seconds. I had to rewatch it because HELL.
The entire episode, hell, debatably from (S1ep4) we see Izzy go through it. Socially isolated and losing his identity. Leading up to S2ep4. Drunk and sad and heartbroken. He tries his best to stay afloat without a lifejacket as his self crumbles around him. He doesn't care anymore. He thinks his life is over. He lashes out because there's no one there to help him.
BUT THEN THE LEG. He cried and I cried during both scenes.
BECAUSE HE IS CARED ABOUT AND HE CAN HEAL!
GOD, and the way that leads into EPISODE 5. Izzy slicked his hair back and regaining some of his own personal identity. Izzy genuinely bantering with Stede, and gently helping him to be a better Captain. The way he desperately asks Stede if Ed said anything else nice about him? Showing that. Yeah, he's not all the way there yet, but he's working on it. The training scene where Izzy just looks on in fascinated horror at Stede's skills? THE LITTE OKAY HANDSIGNAL AT THE END WHEN STEDE USED HIS GRUFF VOICE? He smiles, and jokes, and TRIES. Izzy is pissed, obviously, but he's getting there.
He is kind and caring, all WHILE STILL BEING A PRICK? Him being a total nerd during the curse monologue? Izzy mutters 'rude' and pointedly crosses his legs as Stede ruins the vibe. I laughed harder at Izzy sitting at that desk than I did at most of the jokes in the show. THAT'S MY FUCKING BASTARD!! I'm so happy I saw a character and have been rewarded by showing, yes. He is kind, and trying, but he needs to learn to let himself become new.
I fucking love him. I can tell from the teaser that Izzy is just going to grow closer with the crew (and with himself) and I can't wait. (Even if it means his imminent capture, whoops).
I do think they'll do something with Izzy/Lucius, at least a single happy (Izzy no longer holding himself back from wanting) consensual kiss or genuine discussion about life(post-wedding) to show their growth as characters because I had to pause with the cig and shark interaction. Jesus Christ. I didn't really ship it before, but they are so snarky and it's great.
I'm a bit sad as Izzy's current arc likely means he might not get the big 'fuck you' moment of anger to Ed that Lucius got. Mainly because Con would make me cry, but If Izzy is genuinely just shoving this shit down, ignoring the years that Ed ignored his existence, then...idk.
They purposefully gave Izzy and Ed no scenes and thank god we get a TINY break. Because Ed will try to patch things up, and I don't think it works like that with Izzy. He needs proof that Ed is trying. Add to that Ed ACTUALLY saying sorry to him, and not expecting Izzy to immediately accept it(my theory as to why Lucius pointed it out: Ed will ACTUALLY say sorry to Izzy and mean it. This will heal something for Izzy, and hell). I can't wait for Ed to come back and see him. See him for who he is, a silly prick who is loyal to a fault, who is loved.
This is likely the happiest two episodes we'll get, and fuck, I loved them both SO MUCH. After a rewatch I'll write about the crew. Ed/Stede is actually working for me as we watch them both learn, and Fuck, Lucius/Pete...my darlings.
NOW FOR THE TEASER:
THE IDEA OF SEEING CON IN DRAG AGAIN MAKES ME SO HAPPY! Especially what it means for Izzy. Izzy lets his hair down and has fun with Wee John as he explores what actually makes him happy. Hell, him opening up to being a bit of a masochist as a joke while tied up is...actually my favorite thing (while obvious, given his propensity to put Ed before him in all matters, Izzy casually mentioning 'I like to be roughed a bit up' in front of the crew is the type of openness about himself that I crave). Izzy "cocksuckers" Hands letting himself joke about SEX-GAY SEX(probably)- Kill me now.
(To clarify: I don't think he or Ed ever got off to the abuse, hell, we see Ed flinch away when Anne/Mary do it. That's not the face of someone who knows what that's like as the Sadist).
I just love the way Izzy has so obviously relaxed into a person that he'd never let exist. Hell. I hope Izzy gets to rub this happier version of himself RIGHT in Edward's sad face. I need a 'he was never like this with me' moment of Ed watching Izzy SMILE to parallel Izzy's jealousy in S1.
Con obviously loves this character, you can see it in the performance. He fills the role perfectly, from his ups to his downs. Con smiles and hell, that's not Con, that's Izzy fucking Hands. Striding along proudly pretending his world isn't changing, because it is, and he is healing and I LOVE IT.
I am so proud of our growing Izzy loving community. For some, we've been through a lot of shit. Probably in life, and hell, maybe even in this fandom. Even if you haven't been harassed, you loved Izzy, you saw yourself in him, and I hope you felt the show giving us a big fucking hug.
We grow, we recover, and hell. We get a happy fucking ending (with a few yet-to-be-seen bumps in the road).

speaking strictly from a plot & writing perspective here, not a commentary on characters or who or who is not my favorite blorbo (they all are). it's gale time and I wanted to get down everything I thought about this go around with his romance & the writing before it escapes me.
so I once again had a ton of fun of course, the game is still a blast, and several arcs were way more satisfying this time around simply because I ... did not skip the creche, unlike my very first run (I was an idiot) (I didnt think it would be that important) (it really really was). love it 10/10. I cannot WAIT to do my gith run & really focus in on that because the lore there is just, so cool, and that subplot was really rich & rewarding this time around since I had someone who was not orpheus become a mindflayer instead.
as for Gale, Thank Fuck I started before they bugged him up again too much. but let's deep dive into The Material.
shoutout to Tim first of all, he's a legend, dreamboat, superstar. there are so many lines delivered so effortlessly when they would sound ridiculous in anyone else's mouth. he gives gale so much soulful intensity and subtle, nuanced gravitas befitting someone like gale; with enough of Gale's own moments of silliness, cheekiness, wry wit & understated sarcasm, to outright flabbergasted at times, I was Giggling every conversation fr. I'm not usually prone to the "I LOVE YOU" Romances that come earlier rather than later, but ohhhhhhh tim gives each line with all the weight & agony that you can feel inside Gale when it comes (the looming death; not knowing what the end may bring; not wanting to leave any regrets behind) so like. MWAH to him. MWAH MWAH. all the kisses in the world.
okay mandatory compliments to the actor aside. I came out of the whole thing with breadth of new appreciation for Gale as a character in terms of the... concepts, threads, that make him up, and act 2 is where he REALLY shines overall.
I didn't necessarily come away from it with the same... weepy...... done-no-wrong? interpretation of Gale that I've seen floating about. he's lovely. he's intense. he's got soul-crushing devotion on his mind, no doubt. but for every fracture of tenderness, raw sincerity, & off the cuff soliloquy, he's got a lot of interesting flaws/characteristics I'd love to unpick with a fine-toothed comb on some replays or rewatches. Still trying to turn over in my brain exactly what that is, but it's there, and I love it. will say I'm really glad I played it mostly in a vacuum rather than getting too into others' thoughts on him, because What I Had Seen on the Webbed Site had near put me off entire (seeing someone say he's not prideful or pompous at all... when he self-describes as pompous?) -- maybe it's my tendency to focus in on what makes a character tick, when are they sharper, or harder, or meaner, and I enjoy watching that play out a lot, but? yeah. I didn't come away thinking him a super soft mushy mwahmwah -- ROMANTIC, yes, but overall as a character not nearly so lovesick and in desperate need of some protector. in fact when you tell him you don't want to be his crutch, he says as much too -- you've helped him, but you're not the sole focus of his person or the only thing keeping him alive.
there's enough of the humanity in his cheekier moments (stop licking the damn thing!!) and plenty of tear-jerking aside all of that. gale my canon-depressive-episode, mildly suicidal, chronic pained up, still-kind-of-full-of-yourself king. I adore you I love you I cradle you softly in my arms. he charmed me entire! I think that the themes hey were trying to tackle are really interesting and nuanced and I do have some thoughts on the success of the game in actually tackling those, what is there is really wonderful. some gorgeous writing in act 2, especially, and it was sold so well by the voice acting & sincerity in the writing I was just like. PERFECT. 10/10. NEED TO WRITE 98 FLUFF PIECES RN. which does not happen often, to me, as a person.
with. some exceptions, going back to critiquing act 3 as a whole.
act 1 & 2 are both strong, really nice. however this romance definitely needed at least one or two more scenes in act 2 to pad out the space between awkward flirting at the party to "I like it when you're sweaty and bloody-- sorry who said that" to "I LOVE YOU. I LOVE YOU." -- these scenes should've elaborated on Gale's personal feelings; of mystra, of what's been asked of him, of Tav. they should've set in threads of Gale's anger earlier, rather than the jarring shift from late act 2 "yeah I'll kill myself" to "actually... mystra fucking sucks! lol!" in act 3 at sorcerer sundries. yeah babygirl, mystra DOES fucking suck, wish I could've listened to you as you arrived to these conclusions rather than connecting empty character lines between act 2 and 3. and act 3 desperately needed more space to talk gale in or out of the crown. because by the time we get to the end, if he's really into the crown, he's into it beyond the focus of all else. but in the scenes where you talk him off that particular ledge, it doesn't even take very long to do so, and leaves kind of a weird... gap of intention.
I feel like they wrote themselves into a bit of a corner, honestly. because Gale's personal quest literally cannot be resolved until 5 minutes before the end, any climax wouldn't have much space afterward to pad the aftermath. so the solution to that would've been more character focus scenes, more flavor text depending on how you've influenced gale, something that actually makes the choices feel rewarding -- some hurdles to cross too, checks of some kind. but there really isn't any of that, and so the conflict is almost nonexistent. you squirt gale with a water bottle and he gives up the crown with no real additional dialogue. or you tell him "ma...maybe???" and he's suddenly a power obsessed little freak (complimentary) with no recourse, and in either case, we never got much dialogue to get some insight into his personal thoughts on it. this doesn't make Gale a bad character, but it does leave the narrative to be lacking in some regard.
like, for example. Astarion gets dialogue changes depending on the quest outside of character-specific moments (such as a spawn Astarion changing his dialogue after you help Aylin with Lorroakan), post-quest conversations, PRE-quest conversations with his siblings, moments where he reveals more of what he thinks (such as "You're... you. no one is like that.") etc., Gale gets None of that. the only other characters who really do are Lae'zel and Shadowheart; everyone else is either shafted or resolved in the last few minutes too. I came out of this most satisfied as a player overall with LAE'ZEL'S conclusion (also at the end of the game!!) because we had gotten a few more moments where her focus is obvious and her motivations are clear.
anyways, those are just general writing issues. Act 3 overall is the weakest, most agree, and that's still true here. Sadly it kind of takes some of Gale down with it in this case, because his personal quest is both so removed from the overall plot (despite him being a literal fixture as the only character who knows anything about the crown & was decreed by a literal god to take out the absolute).
however none of this is related to Gale as a guy. as a guy I'm Fucking Obsessed With Him. taking him with me everywhere was so rewarding especially in act 1 / 2. his commentary & insights, when they were there, ranged from funny as fuck to genuinely insightful & interesting for the overall plot. the ideas behind him, the glimpses we get of the life he led before, and the life he wants to lead after with Tav -- or what he alludes to wanting to lead with Tav, thinking that he'll still probably die at the end of this -- are lovely, interesting, TOUCHED MY SPIRIT. he's such a neat version of how to do a character that is as endearing as he can be foot-in-mouth, and as intelligent as he can be a little belligerent. I looooved every moment I could talk with him about magic in act 1, see his passions (beyond mystra), argue with him about how to do something (I'M the magical wonder here actually and I get to make the shadowlantern), all of that really MADE the romance for me in the lulls where his Silence or the gaps in his writing were more clear. 10/10 would kiss that fucking wizard again and cry a little bit thinking about exploding with him aboard a giant alien brain while one of those "ITS YOUUU I LIE WITH" songs plays in the bg

OKAY REALLY WEIRD THOUGHT BUT HEAR ME OUT
So basically I was rewatching Parent and Child for the thousandth time (RZ ofc) and I noticed a few things that could be a stretch but I have to say smthn RAHHHH
First of all, I LOVE THIS EPISODE SO MUCH and Subaru has the sweetest parents ever, he just needed someone other than them to have his back for once. And just like the way he apologizes and develops this epsidoe hits my heart head-on <3
And the most notable thing for me was the final talk with his mom. She says "...50% of you came from me, after all..." Which is like yeah, of course cause it's his mom!! Then she went onto say, "...maybe you can become a little bit like your mom as well."
I ONLY BRING THIS UP BECAUSE
Natsumi Schwartz
Now this could entirely be a stretch, but it was just the phrasing for me, plus he taught himself a bunch of self-care stuff as well as how to sew and how to use makeup, even making his own wigs (as we know) and also, just the fact that the big bow Natsumi wears looks VERY similar to the one in his mother's hair (though Naoko has a much smaller bow, it has a very similar design and I BELIEVE its the same color but it's hard to tell because of the lighting in that episode
AGAIN, this could very well be a stretch I got a bit excited though so I had to say something

warning(s): swearing, blood(?), scars, angst and fluff hah
word count: n/a
pairing: tory nichols x fem!reader
a/n: finally writing these, sorry schools kinda pushing back schedules due to me missing a few days :/ i had to rewatch this episode but i absolutely love this idea !! also new dividers for fall !! woohoo 💗💗💗 this also feels so rushed im sorry, not proof read btw
Tumblr media
it was late, like really late. sensei larusso, chozen, and lawrence had made classes go way over then they were supposed to and then hawk and miguel just needed you to go grab something to eat with them.
you didn’t mind though, you loved spending time with those goofs, but they wore you out.
you joined the miyagi-do/eagle fang dojo with robby earlier in the summer. he had convinced you since you weren’t going to deal with silver’s bullshit. you didn’t miss cobra kai one bit, but there was someone you missed.
that person? was tory.
due to going to separate dojos, you had a falling out and it lead you to break up. it hit you hard, you wouldn’t talk to anyone do anything for days on end until robby checked up on you. you missed her a lot, and you hadn’t see her since miguel’s party where her and sam got into an argument. you tried to chase after her, but she had gotten away before you could.
you had just gotten out of the shower, putting on a clean pair of pajamas shorts and one of tory’s old t-shirts you never gave back. you wouldn’t dare give it back, it’s one of the only things you have left of hers.
walking into your room, drying your h/c hair with an extra towel, you let out a sigh. practice today was tiring, most had been recently. thank goodness your parent’s weren’t home for the weekend so you could have to whole house to yourself.
you almost didn’t hear the frantic knocking at your door, but you did. it made you jump a little, who in the world would be knocking at this hour?
you slowly crept downstairs, the knocking still going. “i’m coming, i’m coming,” you mumble to no one really.
making your way to the front door, you let out a slightly shaky breathe, reaching out to turn the knob and slowly open the door. you opened the door excessively slow, peaking out until you released who was standing in your doorway.
“tory…?” you muttered.
she looked up at you, slightly teary eyed. “hey.”
“tory! what are you- uh. what are you doing here?”
the blonde let’s out a sigh, looking around outside before looking back at you, “can i come in?” she asked.
“yeah, of course-,” you start, before noticing her knuckles, which she had been rubbing gently. “oh my god, what happened to your hand?”
“that’s what i came here for.”
“okay, uh… follow me.” you say, getting out of her way to let her in, shutting the door and leading her to the kitchen.
she sits at the counter, watching you grab an ice pack from the freezer and hand it to her. she rests it on her knuckles.
“so…,” you rock back and forth on your heels, “what’s up?”
tory let’s out a shaky breathe, “my whole life is a fucking lie.”
you quirk an eyebrow, “what.”
“everything is a lie. i’m living a lie. silver paid off the refs at the all-valley last year. cobra kai cheated so i could win against sam.”
“tory- slow down, i can’t keep up. silver paid off the refs?”
“yes! and it’s been eating me alive for months. i wanted to get back at him so bad. i’ve been visiting kreese in prison and all he’s been telling me is lies! i’ve been telling him everything for nothing! i feel like a fraud. my life is a living hell, i’ve lost all of my friends, and more importantly; you.”
you walk up to her and kneel in front of her, looking up at her. “hey, hey, hey, you haven’t lost me,” you say, “i’m not going away at all. we, miyagi-go and eagle fang, can help you. they went to stingray earlier. he basically admitted that silver assaulted him. he’s too afraid to go to the police.
“i knew silver was involved, i just didn’t think he did it with his own hands,” she said quietly.
“yeah, but we don’t have anything to prove it.”
“if it happened at the old dojo, maybe we can..”
“really? are you sure?”
“yeah, but can we not talk about this right now. i need a break for at least a night. can i stay here tonight? i don’t want to be alone.”
you nod, “of course, you don’t even have to ask. just tell me one thing; what happened to your hand?”
“they made me break pure stone, y/n, but i couldn’t. until they brought up our break up… then bam! instant break,” she said, voice breaking at the end of her sentence. “i regret breaking up with you so much. i miss you.”
your heart broke at the sight of her sounding so weak and broken. “hey, it’s okay. it’s okay. those people are sick. i miss you too, and maybe once we go through with out plan, we can try again okay? when we broke up i was broken, but i want us to try again, please.”
tory nodded, “yeah, i’d like that a lot. the worst thing about cobra kai was losing you and i refuse to let you go that easy.”
she placed a chaste kiss to your forehead before you giggled, standing up. “we’ve gotta keep this a secret for a bit, how romantic.”
“this is why i won’t let you get away too easy, juilet,” tory gave you a smile.
“come on, let’s go upstairs romeo. we’ve got quality cuddle time to make up for.”

Tumblr media Tumblr media
active shooter. multiple casualties. nearby officers responding to the scene.
"what are they saying?"
"show me going and their badge number. they're telling dispatch that they're close by and they're responding." holt informs.
"diaz, 3118, show me going." is heard over the staticky radio loud and clear.
"diaz, rosa diaz?" jake repeats.
"that's her badge number. rosa's there."
the room goes quiet.
your breath hitches and you can feel your heart drop to your stomach.
there is an active shooter in a hotel in brooklyn heights and you aren't there to help.
"so there's limited information about the situation in brooklyn heights, but i did manage to speak with a captain at the nine-seven who offered an update." holt states.
"do we know how many shooters?" jake asks.
"two, possibly three. again, the situation's still developing, but as of now, there are three dead and multiple wounded, all civilians."
"excuse me, i gotta go." you quickly leap up from your seat in the briefing room and dash into the bathroom.
you're on the brink of an emotional breakdown. there's so much to take in and now you're lost in your thoughts you almost didn't hear a knock on the stall door.
"doing alright y/n?" amy asks in a soft tone.
you open the stall door to find her worried face which causes your emotions to get the best of you as tears are now streaming down your face.
"amy im gonna loose rosa." you begin to sob as she immediately takes you into her arms as she rubs your back, trying to soothe your violent shaking and cries.
"this is just so scary" hiccup "and, and im so nervous" hiccup "about whats gonna" hiccup "happen to her." ending off your sentence with a loud sob which is now muffled into amy's uniform.
"listen, the captain advised us that it's best to distract ourselves with work and other tasks in order to not think about it. plus, rosa is a badass. if anyone is going to come out of a hostage situation alive and well, it's gonna be rosa."
"you're right, ames. i can almost imagine her dragging those bad guys by the throat." you lightly giggle while you dry your face with your sleeve.
"c'mon. let's get out of this *very* gross bathroom stall." you both intertwine hands, giggling as you exit.
───────────────────────────
you end up with gina in the break-room, reheating your cup of coffee and listening to her ramble about her 'amazing song' she used to calm down.
captain holt peaks his head in as he calls for you.
"ah, detective y/l/n. come see me in my office once you're done here."
"sure thing, sir." you say almost emotionless.
he tilts his head as if in confusion but quickly walks away.
"woah there y/n. you okay girl?" gina questions while putting down her phone.
"yeah, i will be once diaz is back here from the mission." you say while nursing your mug
"it's better to not focus on it. think of something boring that doesn't really mean that much to you. for example, amy's pantsuits."
"i think talking to holt in his office would take my mind off of it. thanks linetti!" you say while walking off.
"no problem lovebug." she answers while not taking her eyes off her phone
you enter into the captains office
"hey captain you wanted too..." your words slowly die off once you see his office. there are scented candles and blankets everywhere. you can see the lights that are slowly dimmed and there's relaxing music playing in the back.
"captain what is all of this?"
"hello detective. i saw how stressed you were and it seems you're the one who has been taking this the worst. since you finished all of your work ill give you today off. i believe its in your best interest to 'netflix and chill'."
"uhhhh sir netflix and chill doesn't mean what you think it means."
"i should've known google would be my downfall. peralta has hounding me about my word choices and i felt like i should have read up on new words to use around the workplace."
"love your effort captain. anyways, why is all of this in your office?"
"it's for you. i want to monitor and make sure you don't have another panic attack. santiago told me."
"oh. im sorry for not saying anything."
"no need. its been a long day for all of us. you deserve the rest so please feel free to crash on my couch."
"thank you sir." are the last words you say before getting comfortable on the couch and dozing off
you feel someone patting your head as you slowly blink awake.
"peralta, where have you been?"
"been getting pizza for the squad. want some?" he smiles
"yeah sure that sounds really good right now."
───────────────────────────
"okay, i don't have the names of the injured officers but if diaz is unharmed, she should be contacting us shortly. or, if her phone is dead perhaps she'll be walking out the elevator shortly."
just then an elevator ping is heard and everyone turns their heads only to find scully.
everyone voices their frustration.
"come on scully!"
"you can't do stuff like that, man!"
"c'mon man go easy on him." rosa chimes in.
that was probably the best thing you heard all day.
you're the first person to run up and hug her tightly
"oh my god why did you do that you scared me half to death never do that again." you whisper.
you give her a secret little head kiss.
"missed you too, y/n" her lips creep into a smile as she admires your face for a minute and then quickly pulls back.
───────────────────────────
the squad enters shaws bar and you buy two drinks (you and rosa) as you both sit outside the bar on the stone steps.
"i was really scared something bad was gonna happen to you. well other than amy hugging you with toilet water all over you." you cringed
"oh yeah that was kinda weird but i really do love them. all of them." rosa smiled
"i love how sappy you get when no one is around." you giggle as you wrap your arms around her waist, facing her.
"shut up." she jokingly said.
she put her hand on your face but then took it off to stare at you.
"is it bad i wanna ruin our friendship?"
"read my mind." you mumbled.
your lips crashed for the first time. she tasted slightly of mint gum and beer. you felt like your insides were bubbling. you both pull back from the kiss and look around everywhere.
"that was ─"
"something. something, that was something." you answer quickly.
"do you.. regret it?" she asks nervously.
"i don't. do you?"
"nah." she quickly answers softly kissing your lips after.
you both sit and sip on your beers while you lay your head on her shoulder and intertwine fingers.

If the show had Drewson endgame, I think I would still want to see them break up in season 1. Season 1 Nancy seems very not ready for a relationship to me, so I think it would have been neat if we got to see Nancy grow a little as a person, then realize how great Nick is and how close they’ve gotten, and then have them get back together in a later season—but not too late! Late season 2 or sometime in season 3 maybe. I think it’s such a waste that the show was started with Drewson and then they pretty much never acknowledge it again after s1! Anyway sorry for sharing my ramblings here
Yeah, me too! Though I personally wouldn't have them get back together until late s3 or s4 because I love drawing out a relationship haha. I think if you're going to start a show with a couple established, break them up, and have them reunite to be endgame, *the* key thing is developing their relationship along the way. I hate nothing more than throwing a couple back together at the end just because "they were always meant to be" when nothing was done to further develop their relationship past the reasons they broke up.
Nancy and Nick, however, had some good growth over the four seasons even no longer being romantic. If they had been endgame, they easily could have played that up more for a satisfying reunion. It's fun to do it that way too because when you have a couple together at the start, you miss out on the slowburn. Yet this way you kinda get the best of both in a reverse sort of way.
Now, drewson to me seems like a case of right person, wrong time. I think s4 made that clear to me because they work well on screen together and after some individual character development, they'd have been a lot more equipped to work through their issues. Earlier I'd probably have been like oh no they wouldn't have worked just because I was more invested in fanson and nace. But rewatching after the show is over I've really been loving looking at all the what-ifs. And I love Nick and Nancy too so... !
On the topic of closure, I just rewatched 1x13 and the one thing that stood out to me is that The Whisper Box is far from closure for Nancy re: Nick. Later when they're all back at the Claw, you can tell she's almost ready, even wanting, to open up to him. But by that point fanson is developing so she's missed her window.
I suppose there is some focus on it from s2 up until 3x01. In 2x01 everyone's reminiscing about the day they met. 2x04 has Nancy acknowledge she never knew he took stuff apart as a kid (leading to his mechanic job). Nick says she never asked. The idea being now they're building the foundation for a relationship they didn't before. So I'd agree Nancy wasn't ready for a relationship in early s1. The issues she had with Nick weren't even necessarily unique to a romantic relationship. Nancy was having the same issue letting the entire crew into her life.
Back to Nick, though. I think 2x18 could be considered closure. In the dreamscape:
"But you can't give in to it, cause you did feel okay again. Right?"
"You were a part of that. That's why it hurt so much when you chose George." "But I'm still here with you." "Thanks for still being my friend."
But! The problem is this is dreamscape!Nick. So he never gets to hear it.
Then, by 3x01 it's clear Nancy is at peace with it all. She tells Nick she likes the green when he's picking a paint color (George's color, specifically).
So I wouldn't say they don't acknowledge drewson after s1, but they mostly do in a roundabout way where it's either in Nancy's head or just symbolism to show she's happy for him and George now. I suppose if the dreamscape is *the* closure, it's on par with the rest of the show. It's not the only time something happens in a "supernatural" way. The downside is that it just doesn't include Nick and is more for Nancy.
My one thought is maybe they'd have given them a more direct conversation if we didn't drop down to 13 episodes. Or, if they knew s4 was the final season prior to the very end of making it. But then again, I can also see why they wouldn't have prioritized it since by s2 fanson was well established and nace was starting to be intentionally written.
Regardless of closure, I think they have a really beautiful relationship. Sure, they break up early on. But by s4 they've become to each other as friends what they needed to be back then for a lasting relationship.
(Please don't apologize for rambling because I just did the sameeee exact thing haha.)

I remember people said the scene in Transmission, where Ladynoir renounce their Miraculous and "seemingly" not thinking about each other are mean to be a plot hole, not character inconsistency.
Bt for me, if the character NOT even make a slight uncomfort gesture/expression when they see Scarabella and Black Minette out there instead of their team mate, then it's not a plot hole, it's character inconsistency.
"Plot hole" excuse only work if Adrinette make any comment/looks surprised/make any reaction upon seeing the new duo but the aired time won't let the show do more than that. But the show doesn't let them react negatively which resulting people interpret it as "Yeah I don't care about my team mate, I already got my gf/bf anyway" which is not plot hole at all.
It's 100% character inconsistency. Plot holes are when the plot is wonky, and some logic doesn't logic. When a character acts OOC, it is character inconsistency. Adrien and Marinette have both become wildly OOC since the second Adrienette became canon on this show. They don't care about superheroing anymore, they don't care about each other as Ladybug and Chat Noir anymore. Outside of like, one line about "I hope Ladybug/Chat Noir are okay" (which is quickly overshadowed by some Adrienette, cause we sure do need more of that when we're talking about the late Ladynoir), they just don't give a fuck.
Actually, this isn't even character inconsistency anymore, this is a whole character overhaul a la whatever happened to Felix Fathom. Cause Adrienette only works if you change significant aspects of their characters. What about Chat Noir meaning freedom and a means of escape for Adrien, what about Ladybug being the narrative opposite of his abusive father who gives him unconditional love and acceptance? Fuck that, what he really needs is to start centering his identity around his classmate (with whom he isn't even that close because she thinks he's perfect) and defining himself based on her needs. And what of Chat Noir being the only one who can understand Marinette's struggles? Chat Noir being her special partner whom she can always lean on? Nah, fuck that shit lmao, here's Marinette trying to tell Adrien something he already knows and Marinette trying to hold Adrien's hand even though she's done that before without a problem!
Anyway, like I was saying, they had to change their characters up so that Adrienette could make sense, because it sure wouldn't make sense if it became canon in the show that devoted the bulk of its development to Ladynoir, now would it? So that's why we get episodes like Determination, where Adrien is suddenly head over heels for Marinette out of fucking nowhere, right after the Jubilation dream sequence where they had those cabbage patch kids, and Ladybug initiated a kiss even though they realized this was a dream, and they were clearly having some complicated feelings about the whole thing at the end of the episode. Cause fuck Ladynoir, amirite? Like, why would we waste time on the relationship we spent 5 seasons developing when we could focus on some cookie cutter high school romance with retcons galore and multiple, I tell you, multiple scenes featuring Marinette suddenly having the inability to do things she's done before with no problem, and apparently, it's all Chloe's fault, like what a fucking shocker, who could have seen that coming.
And lets not get into the actual plot holes in Transmission too, cause those also exist? How does Adrien Agreste know and proudly state Scarabella's name when no civilian knows she exists? How does this not make Marinette question why he knows? Why does Marinette expect that someone else becoming Ladybug means she's free when she's still the Guardian? Make it make sense, please.
Anyway, that's all I got. I'm sorry for using your ask as a venting post, anon. I just rewatched Gamer today, and god, Adrienette are so cute and adorable in Season 1. Like, they actually have chemistry and fun interactions and it's the lucky charm debut episode! I will never forgive this show for taking that Adrienette away from me and replacing it with... whatever Season 5 coughed up.
Thank you for your ask!

Nothing brings me more joy then rewatching the LeMillion vs Overhaul fight and pointing out all the flaws with Chisaki in this episode
Overhaul saying how now that LeMillion knows the situation he's decided to play hero and mockingly calling him school boy? Like you weren't that one emo kid trying to start a trend with that doctor plague mask you got at the discount shop
Overhaul turning his back on LeMillion while saying he's going to die down there? I know you're not talking confidence with that ugly ass looking jacket. Your colour sense is on par with a four year old
Him right at the start when he dodges Mirio's quirk and he goes "Filthy..."? Bro I've seen you explode people
Him clearing a path for Chrono's bullet to hit Mirio? Uhm Overhaul Mirio literally phased through the floor to jumpscare you, clearing a path for a bullet won't do shit if he can phase through it
Him putting up his hand to block Mirio's first punch? Nice job Chisaki I see you're really taking into consideration how Mirio's power functions
Mirio thinking how Overhaul is so fast and how it's hard to believe he's just some Yakaza thug? Mirio the guy hadn't even landed a single hit on you by that point and you where matching, if not out matching, him with speed
Overhaul saying how LeMillion couldn't even save Eri after he gets hit by the bullet? Uhm you haven't gotten Eri back either Overhaul don't go singing your praises just yet
Overhaul telling LeMillion he's filthy? Yeah okay dude like you don't look like a wrinkled finger that's been soaking in bath water
Overhaul saying cleanliness is an obsession of his and when someone contaminates him with their filth he looses control? You JUST fused yourself with the unconscious body of your teammate in the middle of a dust storm that I know damn well was filled with grit and debris shut your hypocritical mouth
And to end this post off, let us all appreciate one of my favourite frames in the entire episode:

My Clara Rewatch, Episode 1: Asylum of the Daleks
I'm going to ignore the silliness in this episode in favour of focusing on Oswin. Fabulous Oswin.
(But for one second, can I just say about how truly silly it is that the Daleks have a parliament? They're Daleks, they have nothing resembling a democracy. Are we supposed to believe they held a Dalek election? And why do they have an asylum when they exterminate anyone, including other Daleks, who show the slightest sign of imperfection by their standards?)
Anyway...
(Also I hate that Amy and Rory have this divorce plot offscreen, and the minisodes don't count. Springing this on us and then resolving it in one single episode was unnecessary. I love getting to watch Amy prove her love for Rory, but we've had plenty of that in s6 and s7a to come.)
Okay now to the good stuff: Oswin.
Tumblr media
"Day 363. The terror continues."
Oswin has been on a Dalek planet for nearly a year and is still holding strong. It really speaks to the strength of her character. (Especially when you know...)
I love that Oswin is boarding up her little hiding hole with planks of wood, as if those will keep out Daleks. Bless.
Tumblr media
We're first introduced to Oswin with the song "Habanera" from Carmen, the opera. Now I'm no opera connoisseur so I'm pulling from wikipedia here, like a proper English major: "It is set in southern Spain and tells the story of the downfall of Don José, a naïve soldier who is seduced by the wiles of the fiery gypsy Carmen. José abandons his childhood sweetheart and deserts from his military duties, yet loses Carmen's love to the glamorous torero Escamillo, after which José kills her in a jealous rage. The depictions of proletarian life, immorality, and lawlessness, and the tragic death of the main character on stage, broke new ground in French opera and were highly controversial."
I don't want to stretch too hard, but I think there are some obvious parallels to Clara's story in there, intentional or not. But I do think there's something to be said about how Oswin is dressed in that bright red and at one point has a red rose in her hair (oh hey the inspiration for my username!) in that classic spanish tango style. Maybe that was intentional. I mean, Eleven does call her Carmen at one point.
Tumblr media
If Clara were on GBBO, she'd lose in the first round.
But is it not absolutely precious that she finds a way to spin everything in a positive light? "Made another soufflé... very nearly." That wasn't even close, my dear. "They came again last night. Still always at night. Maybe they're vampires." She finds a way to turn the trauma of her life, barricading herself from the universe's most deadly killing machines, into a little fantasy (a fantasy within a fantasy, you might say). "Happy birthday, mum. I did make you a soufflé, but it was too beautiful to live." Does it need saying?
The connection to her mom is already being established. Is Oswin's mother still alive, and this version of Clara got to have more time with her? Or did she lose her mother young, too, and is celebrating her birthday as one other way to stay connected to her humanity, her home?
Tumblr media
Anyway, she sleeps in a hammock like a pirate. Hot. (And Oswin, like Prime Clara, likes to wear rings. Details.)
Tumblr media
Carmen. Oswin. Roses.
I think this is the first time we hear the start of Clara's theme.
"I know a Dalek when I hear one, yeah." So Oswin Oswald, junior entertainment officer of the starship Alaska, has encountered Daleks before. She's seen things, she's done things. Even if this is her first trip out on this starship, somehow she's encountered Daleks. That's pretty cool. Why has Big Finish never done a story about Oswin? Get on that, BF. Phone Jenna.
There's a flavour of Everything Everywhere All at Once with this intro to Clara, this idea of what other versions of yourself would have done in different lives, with different choices and opportunities. Prime Clara was an unofficial nanny who always dreamed of travelling, and then became an English teacher while getting to travel the universe with the Doctor. Oswin became an entertainment officer on a starship, in order to travel the universe. Victorian Clara was both a barmaid and a governess, and immediately jumped at the chance to travel with the Doctor. Common threads between our Claras are very obvious: she's a people-pleaser, she likes to take care of others and make them happy, and she wants to see the world, the universe.
(Tangent: Is "Oswin Oswald" her full name from birth? Or was she also a Clara Oswin Oswald who ditched the "Clara" and started going by her middle name?)
-
DOCTOR: How can you hack into everything? It should be impossible. You're in a crashed ship! OSWIN: Long story. Is there a word for total screaming genius that sounds modest and a tiny bit sexy? DOCTOR: Doctor. You can call me the Doctor. OSWIN: I see what you did there.
The shameless Doctor/Clara flirting has officially started.
Side note, I love how Oswin's hacking genius is explained in The Bells of Saint John soon after this. It's not just Oswin being an entertainment officer who also just happens to be a tech genius. There's a specific plot reason for it, and now I wonder if Victorian Clara ever demonstrated any uncanny abilities with early technology...
-
Oswin saving Rory and interacting with the Ponds is very important to me, seeing as they're my three favourite companions of the show. (Plus, the fact that she flirts with Rory shows she has good taste. That said, if she had flirted with Amy I think the fandom would have combusted on the spot. Speaking for myself, at least.)
Now I totally hate the "I was going through a phase" line because come on we're past the point of describing bisexuality as a phase but thankfully they later fixed this, to some extent, by making it hard canon that Clara is bisexual and identifies as such.
-
Unrelated to Clara, but I adore how when Amy is hallucinating the people-Daleks, she hears a jazzy version of "Together or Not at All". Murray Gold strikes again with the genius.
-
OSWIN: Do you know how you make someone into a Dalek? Subtract love, add anger. Doesn't she seem a bit too angry to you? AMY: Well, somebody's never been to Scotland.
Aside from how funny I find this exchange, I just love how the one emotion we definitely haven't seen Oswin express the entire time is anger. She's shown us plenty of other regular emotions (and in fact, love–when talking about her mother) but we haven't seen a shred of anger from her.
Which is really important for what comes next... the big reveal that Oswin has been fully converted–at least physically–into a Dalek.
Part of me wishes she hadn't been converted. Imagine if we'd gotten Oswin escaping with Amy, Rory, and the Doctor? I would've had my three favourite companions (at least, a version of Clara) interacting as a trio. She could've stuck around for a few episodes before dying in time for the exit of the Ponds and the intro of Victorian Clara. I would've loved to see Jenna play off Karen and Arthur face to face.
But I have to come back to the fact that it's so perfectly set up. Right off the bat, Oswin's situation doesn't make sense. The lone survivor of the Daleks, alone for a whole year, baricading herself from them with planks of wood and surviving off soufflés that aren't edible and we never see her eating them, with ingredients she doesn't have. Every time we see her interact with the Doctor, it's through a very Dalek-like lens:
Tumblr media
And of course, we can write that off the whole episode as this just being Dalek technology so of course it looks Dalek-like. But after the reveal, you realize that of course, this is her actual POV.
And most importantly, we need the Doctor to never know what Oswin looks like so that Victorian Clara's death, her repeating the iconic line, and the Doctor finding out her middle name all create that big gut punch moment for him. We as the audience know both characters are played by Jenna Coleman, but the Doctor isn't supposed to know. And when I do the next Clara episode I have a whole thing about why this is so important.
Tumblr media
This just about breaks my heart. She finally sees the Doctor has arrived and she immediately runs to pack her suitcase. She's so committed to her self-imposed delusion that she still, to this moment, believes she's about to escape.
"Rescue me chin boy and show me the stars."
Tumblr media
It's absolutely heartbreaking hearing her say "I'm hu–" and hearing the Dalek voice finish "–man". Genius, though. And then you hear a Dalek cry for the first time ever and it's so incredibly unsettling because they're the embodiment of evil, of hate, and crying is not Dalek. Sadness and heartbreak are not Dalek.
Oswin has been depicted as the exact opposite of Dalek. When she starts crying, it's the one time she says "exterminate", when she lets it in for the first time, and it's because she's angry about what they did to her. She spent a whole year hiding from the truth of the unbelievable trauma she's been put through, partly because it's too much to deal with, but also because if she lets herself face it she will feel that anger, and they'll start to win over her mind. Oswin lives in delusion to protect herself and her humanity.
"Eggs... stir... minate..." isn't just a fun twist. She turned "exterminate" into something as harmless as a soufflé recipe. Oswin took the one word Daleks use the most, the one that, on Doctor Who, is the epitome of evil, and turned it into something human, something positive, something creative (even if she sucked at it) and that she associated with the love for her mother.
Oswin spent a whole year fighting a full Dalek conversion, while the rest of her crew couldn't fight off a partial one, and she refused to let them turn her into a killer. The pure strength of her will is incredible.
Tumblr media
I just adore these shots of Oswin crying, finally accepting the truth of what happened to her. Jenna knocked this out of the park.
As I said, crying is not Dalek.
Tumblr media
And then she decides that no, she won't let in the anger, she won't let them win, ever. She'll save the Doctor, the biggest enemy of the Daleks, and die as Oswin, a human.
Then she says her iconic line, "Run you clever boy, and remember." She breaks the fourth wall which, correct me if I'm wrong, is the first time it's happened on the show, until Twelve comes in to make that one of his rare quirks.
Tumblr media
That's my girl.

Okay so my sister is trying out apple tv right now, which means I am binging all Fraggle Rock content on there as fast as I can.
They don't have the animated series though (which yes, this puppet show got an animated spin off).
So right now I'm watching what I can of that on Youtube because I don't know which streaming service has it (if one does have it), but I first discovered it on Neflix like 10+ years ago, but I don't think they ahve it anymore.
My mom bought one of the old Fraggle Rock dvd sets when I was a kid, so she could introduce me to it. Because Fraggle Rock was her Jim Henson puppet show of choice when she was a kid, vs any of his other works.
This post isn't really about that though, it's about how all the characters are slightly different in the different versions of the show.
For example Boober (though my favorite consistently in all of the shows) has variations in how exactly he's a downer.
Like he's always "a downer" but what exactly being a downer is seems to be different.
In the original he's just openly extremely anxious and paranoid, and suppresses his desire for fun and chaos to the point that he manifested a split personality. Sidebottom, who loves games and jokes and is the fraggle definition of life of the party, but is also totally down to just lie to get out of doing stuff he doesn't want to, or imprison people in the name of having a good time.
In the new series while Boober is still anxious and kind of grumpy he isn't constantly on the brink of spiraling and desperately clinging to random superstitions the way he was in the original. Like it seems he somewhat enjoys being miserable, vs him just kind of seeing it as inevitable because he was just that paranoid about things going wrong.
In the animated series he's no where near as anxious and paranoid as he is in the original, and isn't even all that grumpy. Though admittedly I only restarted my first rewatch of it in 10+ years, and I've only gotten through a couple episodes. But while he does get moody he's far more likely to explode into anger than into depressed wailing.
Though that's admittedly fair, considering in one episode he's just trying to do his job (cleaning laundry and delivering it back to where it needs to go), people keep cutting infront of his laundry cart, slowing him down. Or worse dirtying the clean laundry by actually running into him and upending the cart, or splashing a bunch of water onto the laundry cart. Meaning he has to go back and re-clean all the clothes he'd already washed and had been on his way to deliver.
And when he tells the others to at least watch where they're going, they all just go "complaining again Boober?" like he doesn't have the right to be upset when he has to go back and re-wash the same load of laundry 3 times in one day, when he's just trying to do his job.
So the fact that he seems more prone to angry outbursts rather than depressive/panicked ones could definitely just be the result that his friend group are kind of oblivious jerks in the animated series.
So yeah if you see me posting about Fraggle Rock, or the new series, or the animated series, or anything else Fraggle related it's because I'm binging a lot of fraggle content lol.

Holiday Huntlow?? Halloween or Christmas/winter
Yo. Omg I only have a few more days to imagine what could be before we finally have some answers. Here’s some Halloween Huntlow based on the newest promo. It’s pointless but I think it’s cute.
———
“What’s Hunter been up to? He’s been locked in the basement for hours.” Luz wondered aloud as the rest of the group sat around the kitchen table finishing breakfast.
“Ever since you told us about Halloween he’s been working on his costume,” said Gus, shaking his head endearingly. “When we’re not doing research, we’ve been watching this amazing documentary called Space Trek and-.”
“It’s not a documentary, I just need you to know that.” Luz interjected quickly.
“-and since you said that the tradition of dressing up has evolved beyond demon realm stereotypes, he wants to dress up as his favorite character.”
“Oh, okay it’s good he has a creative outlet,” said Amity, sipping her tea. “But Luz, didn’t you say that show was for ner-.”
Willow nudged gently her side which told Amity this was probably a comment not meant to be shared.
“So, are you going as someone from the show too, Gus?” Willow asked brightly.
“Oh yeah!” He beamed. “But I’ve got a special charm set with a costume. I offered to make one for Hunter but he seemed really excited to make it himself.”
“Who is he being?” Asked Willow who had watched a few episodes with the boys and had a basic idea of the show. She was nowhere near the level Gus and Hunter were, the two spending practically every free moment watching or discussing the program.
“He wants to keep it a surprise buuuut I bet he’d tell a certain someone if they asked.” Gus sang as he gave Willow a wink but she simply rolled her eyes.
———
Willow knocked on the basement door and waited for Hunter to invite her in.
“Hey!” She said cheerfully, ducking her head down to see him. “I brought cha some breakfast!”
“Ow! Thank you, Captain!” Hunter exclaimed.
“You okay there?” She laughed as she descended the stairs and set his plate on the end table.
“Oh yeah, I’m getting better at sewing but I still manage to stab myself every so often,” he chuckled, shaking out his hand. “But I’m almost done! I’ve gotta have it ready for tonight; it’s gonna be perfect!”
“I’m glad you’re so excited,” Willow smiled as she sat on the couch. “Lemme see if I can guess who you’re gonna be.” She turned her attention to the TV, Hunter was rewatching his favorite season while he worked, citing the source to make sure his creation was accurate. “Oh! Is it the guy in the yellow shirt?”
“Good eye! Yeah, that’s Filton,” said Hunter. “He’s a cyborg, which is part machine and part human and he’s got the best memory and he can fix anything and he’s the technician. He’s my favorite; he’s logical and efficient and he’s funny and awesome.”
“He sounds a lot like you.”
“Yeah, well...” Hunter blushed as he confined to stitch. “I don’t know about that. But I think I found the right shade for the shirt to do the character justice. The costumes in the store had too many inaccuracies. They have the planet on the wrong side, which in the show is a major infraction so I’m sewing my own on.”
“I see. Oh, who’s that?” Willow asked pointing to the screen as a new character entered the scene. She wore a long sleeved green dress with black stockings and matching long boots. She wore her long black hair down, with several Golden star clips decorating her head to keep it out of her eyes. Her face was adorned by matching green lines that went vertically across both eyes and made her seem intimidating and reminded Willow of flyer derby.
“Hmm? Oh! That’s Estrella.” Hunter explained. “Oh she’s awesome. She just became captain of the ship. No one on her planet though she could do it so she joined the team as part of the med division but then they got caught in a meteor storm and she lead the team through it and also fought space pirates.”
“A captain, Huh? Well, she sounds awesome,” said Willow getting more comfortable on the couch and becoming invested in the episode.
“Oh, she is!” Hunter exclaimed. “I thought she’d be your favorite, she reminds me a lot of you.”
“Really? Well then she must be the best character.” said Willow as she watched Estrella jump into the air kick an attacker in the face. Willow admired her technique. “Would it be okay if I watched with you for little bit? Unless you need to focus, I don’t want it distract you if you need-.”
“Oh no, please stay!” said Hunter. “Let me know if you have any questions. But no peeking at my costume. I want you to see it when it’s done and perfect.”
“Deal,” said Willow, who was too involved in the show to put her attention anywhere else.
———
Hunter walked into the kitchen to reveal his finished product with a dramatic flourish, holding his homemade accessories with pride.
“Reporting from the Gamma Quadrant and representing planet Quiox, Lieutenant Filton reporting for duty!” He announced as he shot fake lasers from his eye just as Filton did on the show.
“Woah dude! You look awesome!” said Gus as he and Hunter did their usual handshake.
“Thanks! Why aren’t you ready yet?”
“I’ve got my charm all ready, no rush,” he said, gesturing to his accessory. “But ya know, speaking of Filton, I noticed that on the box set for the next season-.”
Hunter covered his ears. “La la la la no spoilers!”
“Okay fine,” laughed Gus. Despite the show having been out for years in the is realm, it was totally new to them and Hunter refused to have any part of it spoiled. Gus turned his attention behind Hunter and a large smile graced his face. “Woah, Willow! I didn’t know you were dressing up too!”
“Oh it’s just something I threw together,” she said.
Hunter turned to greet her but was quickly made speechless by her appearance. It wasn’t unusual for the sight of her to leave him at a loss for words, but she had outdone herself now. “Wait... are you...?”
“I had a dress that reminded me of Estrella’s and Luz lent me some hair clips so I thought it would be cool if we had matching costumes,” explained Willow, gesturing to her outfit. The dress was nearly a perfect replicant by itself but she had added a belt and altered the sleeves to make the look complete. “I hope that’s okay, I know it’s really more of your and Gus’ thing-.”
“No, not at all! I mean, it is! I mean... you look amazing, Captain.” Hunter could barely catch his breath. He had seen Willow with her hair down before, but never so purposeful and planned. For having only been introduced to the character that morning, she had put true effort in recreating her likeness. “You even painted your face! Oh, oh! I have an extra space fleet patch you can wear! Let me go down and get it!”
Hunter quickly dashed down the stairs and Willow could not have more thrilled with his reaction.
“So uh, what made you pick Estrella, Willow?” Gus asked, crossing his arms and offering her a knowing smirk.
“Oh, well Hunter was telling me about her and we watched some episodes and I just really like her character,” she replied. “Why? Oh no, she doesn’t turn evil or die or something does she?”
“No, but I’m guessing you didn’t get to episode 87 did you?”
“No, I think we stopped a few before that, why?”
“Ask Hunter about it,” smirked Gus. “It’s like his favorite episode.”
“Aw! I didn’t know you guys were doing a couple’s costume too!” Gushed Luz as she and Amity came down the stairs, dressed and Azura and Hecate to no one’s surprise.
“Huh?” said Willow, confused.
“Hunter is dressing as Filton, right?”
“Yeah.”
“Well, I’m nowhere near as into Space Trek as my dad was, but it’s a well known pop culture fact that Estrella and Filton are like one of the most famous love stories of all time.”
“Oh, I... hadn’t gotten that far yet,” said Willow, now enjoying Hunter’s reaction even more upon reflection. “Is that what happens in episode 87?”
“Well, that’s when it starts,” explained Gus. “That’s the episode where Filton gets a system upgrade that makes him realize he’s in love with the Captain. Hunter is like obsessed with them, I’m pretty sure he draws pictures of them before bed.”
“Really? He didn’t mention that,” Willow blushed, easily imagining Hunter hunched over a notebook agonizing over the perfecting the shading of Filton’s mechanical eye.
“He probably didn’t wanna spoil it for you,” shrugged Gus. “We also haven’t found out if they get together yet, there’s a lot of tension and build up and he still has to tell her that he got his robot parts from an evil robot that used to fight the alliance and-.”
“Gus! Spoilers!” Willow exclaimed, covering her ears.
“I’m sorry,” laughed Gus. “Anyway, it’s one of those episodes where everyone loses their memory at the end so like it’s not technically canon but it also is? I think it’s annoying, but it’s Hunter’s favorite episode. I think I’ll let you two watch that one alone.”
“Why?”
“Because they kiss in that one.”
“Oh, I see,” said Willow as she heard Hunter’s footsteps running back up the basement stairs. “Do you think he’s okay with me dressing like her then? I don’t want him to be uncomfortable if people assume-.”
“I found it!” Hunter announced as he eagerly ran over to Willow. “I can sew it onto your sweater if you want, it won’t take very long!”
“I think he’s fine with it,” whispered Gus to Willow as she removed her sweater to hand to Hunter who quickly began working.
“Willow! Can you take mine and Luz’s picture by her Azura poster?” Amity called from the next room. Willow picked up her camera and headed over, snapping dozens of pictures of the pair re-enacting the book covers and just being extremely cheesy.
During their photo session, Hunter finished sewing on Willow’s patch and admired his work with pride. He was so excited to have something to share with the Captain and he couldn’t wait to discuss his theories and fun facts with her.
“So, are you guys gonna be in character all night?” asked Gus as he watched Hunter fix some buttons on Willow’s sweater while he had the kit out.
“Well, I certainly don’t intend to dishonor Filton’s name by acting against his moral code,” said Hunter far too seriously. “Luckily, we’re both highly efficient and logical.”
“Yeah, and luckily you’re both in love with the Captain too huh?”
“Yeah and- that’s not funny,” said Hunter, giving Gus a stern look.
“Hey, I’m just staying in character,” said Gus, activating his charm to change into his costume. “Morrok is the handsome comic relief who tells it like it is. I gotta tell it like it is.”
“Thanks Willow!” Luz beamed as she and Amity adored their poloroids, struggling to pick a favorite. “These are all amazing! Want me to take a picture of you, Hunter, and Gus?”
“Oh, that would be great thanks!” said Willow, handing her camera to Luz and ducking back into the living room to grab the boys. Hunter helped Willow slip her sweater back on and she complimented his craftsmanship which made him blush. The three gathered in front of the entrance, with Hunter making sure they were placed and posed perfectly to ensure the most accurate photos possible.
“Okay, I think we should get on of you guys recreating the scene from when they went to Cyran,” said Gus.
“Oh! Yes!” agreed Luz with enthusiasm. “That’s iconic!”
“I don’t think we got that far,” admitted Willow, wondering if it was a reference to episode 87. “Um, what do we have to do?”
“Oh, I don’t think the Captain wants to do that,” said Hunter, nervously. “It’s probably too silly and we should leave soon-.”
“Here, I’ll show you,” said Luz to Willow as she quickly searched the poster on her phone and showed it to her. Willow grinned.
“Oh yeah, we can totally do that.” she said.
“Really?” Said Hunter, trying to hide how thrilled he was. Willow nodded as Gus ran up to them and began putting them into place.
“Okay, Willow you stand... here,” said Gus, directing Willow into the light. “And Hunter, you go on her left and put your arms around her shoulders like she’s carrying you out of the rock monsters clutches. And Willow, put your hand around his waist and pull him closer, yeah just like that! And put your other hand in the air like your summoning the ship’s beam! Perfect! Hold that! Hunter, why is your face so red?”
“Aw so cute!” Luz squealed, prolonging hitting the button to make the moment last longer.
“Oh! Gus, can you make an illusion that’ll make it look like we’re being beamed up to the ship?” Willow asked and Hunter gasped at her brilliance, his eyes widening at how epic the picture would look.
“On it!” he said as he summoned the blue light above them. Willow did a perfect recreation of the poster, looking up at the sky with determination and fearlessness. Beside her, Hunter perfectly re-enacted Filton’s iconic love struck look without even trying.
“Maybe next Halloween we can recreate a scene from episode 87.” Willow whispered as Luz snapped the last photo, Hunter looked as though he was going to burst into flames as Willow managed to remain composed. As flustered as he was, he momentarily snapped out of it as he fully processed her words.
“Gus! I told you not to spoil it for her!”
