If Derek had curly hair and glasses he’d probably be so, so much better. He’d still be an asshole but at least he’d be even better to draw.

A Night At The Opera - Grigori Weaver X Reader
Performing is what you loved to do best. Meeting a young soldier is just what you always dreamed off, but while you were on tour for one of the most iconic operas ever written. And you, the main character.
TW: None!
Tumblr media
"Y/N! You are live in 10 minutes!" The producer called, as he walked past your mirror.
You glanced in the mirror and just caught the last glimpse of him leaving the room. You turned to look back at yourself in the large vanity, the lights illuminating your current hair style which stood pretty tall.
You were getting final touches to hair and makeup, and it just so happens for this opera, you were the main star. And as hollywood rules states, go big or go home. So you chose the classic big, bouncy curly hair with curled sideburns to give it spice.
It was elegant, you had little glass flowers put all through it so it would glitter and reflect off the stage lights. You wore a stunning ballgown dress, with large bell sleeves. And for the finishing touch which the hair stylist was putting in your hair?
An authentic, diamond and gold lined tiara, which had a long, lace veil attached to the back. You simply smiled at how you looked in this moment. A makeup artist came over and touched up some spots and re-applied the ruby red lipstick you had on.
As soon as they finished, you looked over yourself and smiled. You pushed a falling glass piece back into place, applied hairspray, and got up. You soothed the dress out and turned to the two who had made you look stunning.
"Thank you both, you have made my dream look come true! I think I'm going to permanently hire both of you to tour with me!" You exclaimed, giving a hand.
They both nodded graciously, and bowed with a humble 'thank you' before you were pulled away by someone.
"Okay Y/N, you will be live in one minute. You know the cues, good luck out there!" The stage coach yelled, pulling you to the side stage.
You watched as the young man who played Pollione finish his number, Meco all'altar di Venere. After the dramatic change of scene and the curtain close, the audience clapped loudly. The moment you trained for was finally here!
You watched as Klaus, the owner of the gorgeous, all original opera house approached you. You smiled, and he gave you his hand.
"Miss Y/N, do you look stunning! I must tell you before you go on, we have special guests in the audience. Not to make you worried or such, but these guests are returning soldiers from the war. One in particular who you might have the chance to meet after, is named Grigori Weaver. He loves operas, and even funded this show to go on!" Klaus exclaimed.
You were taken back by the odd sounding name. Grigori? Is that Russian? you asked yourself. You smiled at Klaus, and gave a simple nod.
"Yes Klaus, I understand. Thank you for the information. I do hope to meet him afterwards!" You said.
The stage hand tapped your shoulder, as you saw two men heading towards the curtain strings.
"I must go, Klaus. Thank you!" You said, before taking your spot center stage, right up against the curtain.
The choir filed in behind you on the risers as you stood, singing small voice warmups before it was go time. You felt nervous, but excited. Your heart raced with joy and adrenaline as the final words of the scene were spoken.
That was the cue! With the final dialouge spoken, the curtains opened. The lights suddenly filled your vision, along with the large crowd in the huge theather. A small, soft smile was written on your flawless features as the orchestra began the song.
The flute soloist filled the room with warm, beautiful, contrasted music with crescendos and decrescendos. It sounded almost ominous, but it was beautiful. You stood in the pose as practiced before.
The bell sleeves hung beautiful as you would slightly lift your arms with the music. The violins cued your very first note, and you gave it your all.
"Casta Diva, che inargenti
queste sacre antiche piante,
a noi volgi il bel sembiante
senza nube e senza vel."
You maintained a professional and elegant posture as you acted the part of your character, Norma. You swayed lightly with the music, and smiled as the choir behind you hit the correct notes, pitch, and phrases behind you. You glanced out over the crowd, and right away spotted a man wearing an eye patch in the VIP section.
Suddenly, you felt the urge to finish this aria right, and with ease. Your next cue happened, and you let the bell sleeves hang beside you.
"Tempra, o Diva,
tempra tu de’ cori ardenti
tempra ancora lo zelo audace,
spargi in terra quella pace
che regnar tu fai nel ciel.

Fine al rito
e il sacro bosco
sia disgombro dai profani.
Quando il Nume irato e fosco,
chiegga il sangue dei Romani.
Dal Druidico delubro
La mia voce tuonerà.
Cadrà; punirlo io posso.
Ma, punirlo, il cor non sa.

Ah! bello a me ritorna
Del fido amor primiero;
E contro il mondo intiero
difesa a te sarò.
Ah! bello a me ritorna
Del raggio tuo sereno,
e vita nel tuo seno,
e patria e cielo avrò.
Ah, riedi ancora qual eri allora,
quando il cor ti diedi allora,
ah, riedi a me."
With the last note of the orchestra, ending right after your vocals pitched down, you struck an elegant pose. The diamond of the tiara made you sparkle as you soaked up all limelight.
Cheers roared and echoed through the halls and walkways of the opera house. Whistles and flowers were thrown as the curtains began to slowly close. You glanced towards the man with the eyepatch again, and saw him standing up.
He joined everyone in a standing ovation because your pure and effortless talent had shaken them to the core, but in a good way. The heat of the lights brought you to a pant, and small specks of sweat beaded at the line of your hair.
The curtains finally came to a close and you released the pose. You quickly made the way backstage to cool off, so you wouldn't look rough for the finishing act.
Producers swarmed you, makeup artists, and hair artists also swarmed you like buzards so they could doll you back up. You were to keep the hairstyle for the final act, but change the dress for a Victoria era wedding dress.
TIMESKIP, END OF THE OPERA
You gathered at the entrance along with the cast to say goodbye to guests as they exited the opera house. This gave guests a chance to get autographs, pictures, and words to say. You were of course, the first at the door for the order of namesake.
Soon, the hundreds of people came, and shook hands with everyone. You were signing many autographs for many people, and snapping many pictures for all. And you were very determined to make sure everyone who asked had one.
Soon, the end of the line came, and out came the man in question. The handsome, dark haired man with the eye patch and a handsome pair of dress blues. He made conversation with everyone, and you even noticed Klaus right beside him, talking.
They came up to you last, and the rest of the cast exited to get cleaned up. You smiled as they approached, and held out your hand.
"Evening, Miss Norma. You did fantastic. My name is Grigori Weaver, could I have yours please?" He asked kindly, taking your hand and giving it a small kiss.
You blushed as Grigori let your hand go, and turned to Klaus.
"This is the gentleman who sponsored the whole show!"
"Ah yes, Grigori. Nice too meet you. I'm Y/N Y/L/N. Or as you know, Norma. On behalf on all my cast and producers, coaches, and myself, we thank you. This production would have been lost if it wasn't for you kind donation." You said.
He smiled at you, and only you. He couldn't get over how flawless and just how polite you were.
"Well, as proven tonight, Miss Y/L/N, it's my pleasure. I do hope you stick around for more performances these coming years, da?" He asked.
"Well of course! I plan on staying in the opera for many years while I attend school and look for my dream job." You said.
Grigori looked at his watched, and slipped his hat on. While he fixed the collar on his jacket, he fished inside his coat for something. He pulled out a brilliant, luscious red rose and handed to you. You gratefully accepted as a blushed creeped across you.
"I must be going now, my job starts soon. But, for you, Norma. Maybe possibly I could come see you perform again this coming week?" He asked.
"Of course you can, I'd love that." You said, with a smile.
"Off I go then. Have a wonderful evening, both of you!" He said as he exited the opera house.
You watched him walk to his very luxurious car, and he looked back. You waved and turned on your heel, walking back with Klaus.
"I think you just got the VIP to fall in love with you, nyet?" He asked.
"Klaus, do not be so foolish! He was simply being nice." You said, walking up the first flight of stairs.
"But, he did say he'd be returing for the other shows. If he does, then that will prove my point for sure!" Klaus said.
You came to your dressing room, and wished Klaus a good evening as you closed the door. You set the red rose in a vase on your vanity and began carefully taking out the pieces from your hair. You couldn't stop thinking about with Grigori had said.
And over the rest of the following days the opera showed, Grigori kept his promise. Soonz the vase was overflowing with roses. And after one performance, you found yourself at one of the nicest restaurants with Grigori.
That was one hell of a night at the opera.

Tumblr media
Prompt request:
#4 “You look amazing.”
#10 “You know I never wanted to lie to you.”
****
Being in love is the most beautiful thing in the world, especially when the person you love, loves you back. (Y/N) was currently in love with someone and was lucky enough to call him her boyfriend. She met Noah through a mutual friend at a dinner party and immediately had a strong connection to him. They spent most of that party with each other and became super close, super fast. Even though everyone knew that they were clearly head over heels for each other, it was oblivious to the both of them, which was the reason why they didn't date for quite a while. Luckily Noah did have the courage to confess his feelings to (Y/N) one day which led to them going on their first date just about six months ago.
They've been inseparable ever since and spent almost every day together. Even though it wasn't always easy dating a young, hot-shot actor like Noah, especially with him being so busy with his tight schedule most of the time, they wouldn't trade each other for the world. Ever since his two movies on Netflix released, Noah's life had drastically changed. He gained millions of followers overnight and quickly made himself a name as the 'Internet's boyfriend'. (Y/N) was proud of her boyfriend and of how far he'd come and supported him all the way, which wasn't something Noah took for granted. A lot of his relationships had failed due to his job, but (Y/N) knew how hard the entertainment business was because she was a part of it too.
(Y/N) was a blogger and also had her own YouTube channel where she made fashion and lifestyle videos as well as vlogs where she shared her daily life online with her audience. She loved her job and was very grateful for everything that came out of it, but of course it was also very hard sometimes and required a lot of effort and time. While (Y/N) mostly worked from home, where she had her own little office, Noah was always on the road, filming and doing promo's for new movies and projects he was working on, just like he was doing right now.
He was filming the sequel to 'To All The Boys I've Loved Before' in Vancouver and even though (Y/N) was really excited for him, she couldn't help but feel a little sad about it too. They were supposed to celebrate (Y/N)'s birthday together next week, but unfortunately Noah couldn't clear his schedule from filming, which meant that he couldn't be with her like they'd originally planned. (Y/N) usually didn't make a big fuss about her birthdays, but this year was different. It was her first birthday with Noah as her boyfriend and she was really excited to spend that day with him. Of course she understood that Noah couldn't just take a day off whenever he wanted, no matter how much she'd love to have him there.
****
It was (Y/N)'s 23rd birthday today and she was getting ready for the day, when she got a Facetime call from Noah. (Y/N) couldn't help but smile as she answered the call. She waited for it to connect and when it did, she saw a wide grinning Noah staring back at her.
“Happy birthday, baby.” He greeted her before making a kissing face into the camera.
“Thank you, sweetie. I wish you were here with me, though.” (Y/N) answered, pouting a little at him.
“Yeah, me too. I hate that I couldn't clear my schedule for you. I swear I'm gonna be grumpy all day and let everyone know how upset I am about not being able to be with my girlfriend on her special day.” He said, looking at (Y/N).
“You're so sweet, Noah, but you don't have to do that. We'll just celebrate my birthday when you're back from shooting, okay?” She said, looking back at Noah with a small smile on her face. He nodded and smiled back at her.
“Anwaay, where are you right now?” (Y/N) asked, noticing a different, unfamiliar looking background behind Noah.
He quickly answered, “I'm just in my trailer, waiting to be called back on set.” (Y/N) noticed his sudden nervousness, but didn't ask any further and chose to believe him instead. The two of them spoke for another half hour until it was time for Noah to leave again.
“Shoot, looks like I gotta go, babe. I miss you so much and wish I was there to celebrate you, but I hope you have an amazing day, nevertheless.”
(Y/N) smiled at that, “I miss you too, honey. This day won't be the same without you, but I'll still try to have some fun. I love you, Noah.”
“I love you too, baby. I talk to you soon, okay? Bye.” He blew a few kisses at (Y/N) and she returned the favor, her heart aching at the thought of spending her birthday without him. They hung up and (Y/N) sighed quietly, before she finished getting ready for the day.
Once (Y/N) was ready for the day, her best friend Emma came over to spend the day with her.
“Happy birthday, bestie. I know you're sad that Noah can't be here, but I promise we'll still make the most of this day. I have everything planned out for us already and it's gonna be freaking amazing!” Emma said enthusiastically as she hugged (Y/N).
“Thanks, Em, but I don't really feel like celebrating today. I'd rather just stay in and watch Netflix or something.” (Y/N) told her, missing Noah like crazy already and not wanting to have fun without him. She hated that she felt so attached to him and how her mood mostly depended on him, but she didn't have any contol over the way she felt about him. Everything with Noah was still so new and yet she was head over heels in love with him already. Even though they spent most of their time together, she still missed him whenever they weren't. (Y/N) knew that today was supposed to be all about her, and she appreciated that Emma was there to be with her, but for some reason it felt wrong to celebrate her birthday without Noah.
“No, there's no way you're staying here. Don't be one of those girls that can't have fun without their boyfriends around, especially on a day that's supposed to be all about you. I know that Noah would want you to enjoy yourself today so, c'mon, (Y/N). I promise, it'll be fun.” Emma gave (Y/N) a pleading look as she waited for her to say something.
She sighed, knowing Emma was right. “Okay, fine, I'll go with you. But please promise me it's just gonna be me and you today, and that you didn't make a big fuss about my birthday because you know how much I hate that.”
Emma squeaked a little before hugging (Y/N) again. “Well all I can promise is that you're gonna have a birthday you'll never forget.”
(Y/N) raised her brows suspiciously, “What's that supposed to mean, Em?”
“You'll see. Now, come on, let's get you ready for your special day.” Emma said, pulling (Y/N) towards her closet.
“But I am ready. What's wrong with what I'm wearing right now?” (Y/N) asked, looking down at herself. She was wearing her favorite denim skirt and a cute little white blouse on top as well as some golden earrings. She loved her outfit and didn't understand why she needed to change for whatever Emma had planned for them.
“Nothing's wrong with your outfit, (Y/N), you look great. But you don't just want to look great for whatever I've got planned for us, you want to look your very best, so let's go and see what you've got in here.”
(Y/N) sighed again before she followed Emma, who was already looking for an outfit in (Y/N)'s walk-in-closet. For the next hour or so, the both of them worked on (Y/N)'s new outfit and even changed up her hair and make-up.
Once they were ready with everything, (Y/N) finally looked at herself in the full-length mirror to see the end result. She was now wearing a burgundy colored dress with no sleeves that perfectly showed of (Y/N)'s curves and it also had an open back, which was probably her favorite part about the whole outfit. She paired the dress with silver stilettos and a matching clutch and perfected her look with some silver hoop earrings and a beautiful heart shaped necklace that Noah had given her for their six month anniversary a few weeks ago. (Y/N)'s usual, long, straight hair was curly and pulled up into a half bun, which she wore in honor of Noah since that was his favorite hairstyle on her. Her make up was rather light and sweet while her red lips that matched the color of the dress, complimented the rest of her look perfectly.
“Damn, you were right, Em, I do look great in this dress. In fact this whole outfit makes the other one look boring and out of style. I'm so glad I listened to you and put this on.” (Y/N) said as she smoothed the dress over her body.
“Of course I was right. Now come on, pose for the camera. I'm gonna snap some sweet pictures for your Instagram because you need to share this look with the world, girl.” Emma said before taking a few pictures of (Y/N)'s look.
“Wow, these are some great shots, Em.” (Y/N) said as she scrolled through her phone to look at the pictures her best friend had taken of her.
Emma just shrugged and answered, “Don't forget to tag me, babe.”
(Y/N) laughed and quickly made her post on Instagram before she put her phone away and looked back at her best friend.
“Okay, now that I look the part, can you finally tell me what you've got planned for us and why I had to dress up like a Hollywood star that's going to a red carpet event?” She asked, raising her brows at Emma.
“Well, I can't tell you anything, besides that we're going somewhere else. So put on this blindfold and then we're ready to go.” Emma pulled out a blindfold and walked behind (Y/N) to put it on her but (Y/N) just shook her head at that.
“A blindfold, are you serious, Em? There's no way I'm putting that on.” (Y/N) protested, shaking her head.
Emma gave her a pleading look and said, “Please?”
“Uggh, fine.” (Y/N) sighed and turned around so Emma could put the blindfold on her.
“Yes, I promise you're going to love what I've got planned for us.” Emma responded with a smile as she put the blindfold on.
(Y/N) answered, “Well, let's hope you're right about that.”
Emma turned (Y/N) around and took her hand in hers, guiding her outside to her car. Once they were both safely in the car, Emma turned on the engine and made her way over to a secret location, where she'd planned to surprise (Y/N).
****
Half an hour later they arrived at the secret destination where Emma parked her car before getting out of the car and opening the door for (Y/N).
“Here, take my hand again. We're almost there.” Emma carefully took (Y/N)'s hand and helped her out of the car. She then led (Y/N) inside the cabin that she'd rented for the day, where (Y/N)'s surprise was already waiting for them.
“Okay, you can take your blindfold off now.” Emma told (Y/N) when they made it inside the cabin. (Y/N) let out a small breath before she removed her blindfold. It took her a second to adjust her eyes to the brightness of the room, but once she did, she saw all of her closest friends and family staring at her in anticipation.
“SURPRISE!” They all yelled with big smiles on their faces and a couple of them were even filming the situation to capture (Y/N)'s reaction.
“What the hell?” (Y/N) asked confused as she stared back at everyone.
Emma turned to (Y/N) and smiled. She took both of (Y/N)'s hands in hers before she said, “Happy Birthday, (Y/N). I know you don't like to make a big fuss out of your birthdays, but I just wanted to give back to you for everything you've done for me over the last couple of years, because I love you so much. You're my best friend in the entire world and deserve to have the best day ever, which is why I planned all this just for you.”
(Y/N) felt tears stinging in her eyes as she looked back at her best friend. She wrapped her arms around Emma, pulling her in for a tight hug.
“Wow, I don't even know what to say, Em. I can't believe you did all of this for me.” (Y/N) whispered to her, her voice shaking a little.
“You don't need to say anything. All I want you to do is have fun today and let us celebrate you on your special day.” Emma answered as they pulled apart from the hug, smiling back at (Y/N).
(Y/N) nodded with teary eyes before she turned her attention towards her guests. “Hi everyone! I don't know what to say because I'm still in shock, but I'm very grateful to have you all here. I can't believe you're all here to celebrate my birthday with me. Thank you so much you, guys.” (Y/N) smiled at all her guests who all started clapping after her little speech.
(Y/N) then took the time to look around the room for the first time and saw lots of balloons scattered around the floor and the ceiling. There was a huge banner on the wall that read: 'Happy 23rd Birthday (Y/N)!' and a big table with different snacks and drinks was set up in the corner of the room. The highlight of the party though was the karaoke booth that was set up on the other side of the room where music was currently playing out of the boxes. It was the perfect party and (Y/N) couldn't help but tear up again as she let it all sink in.
“Wow, everything looks so amazing. Thank you so much for setting this up, Em.” (Y/N) said, making Emma smile.
“Of course. Now, come on, let's go and say hi to everybody.” (Y/N) nodded and mingled with her guests for a while, saying hello and catching up with them.
After (Y/N) made her rounds and talked to everyone it was time to open gifts. Everyone gathered around her as she sat down at the table with all the gifts and presents.
“Wow, you guys. This is too much. You really didn't have to do all this for me.” (Y/N) said as she stared at all the gifts in front of her.
“Hey, it's no big deal, (Y/N), really. If someone deserve a great birthday with great presents, it's you. So, stop thanking us and start open your presents. I'm dying to see your reaction to mine.” Lauren, one of (Y/N)'s friends, who was also a fellow YouTuber, said to her as she handed her present over first.
(Y/N) laughed before she started opening her presents. For the next few minutes (Y/N) unwrapped the rest of her gifts which she all loved. She couldn't believe that all of her friends went above and beyond just for her, and even though she was incredibly grateful for all the effort and time they've put in for this party, (Y/N) still felt a little sad about not having Noah with her today. She tried not to think about him though and put a smile on her face, allowing herself to enjoy the rest of the party with her friends.
“Shoot, I just realized that I left my present in the car. I'll be right back, okay?” Emma suddenly said before she rushed over to the door to get to her car.
“No, it's okay, Em. I don't need a present from you. You already-” But before (Y/N) could finish her sentence Emma was already out the door.
(Y/N) looked at her friends and asked, “Do you guys know what she's up to again?” but all of them just shrugged nonchalantly. (Y/N) sighed and turned her attention back towards the door. A few minutes later Emma walked back in, but there was no present in her hands. (Y/N) looked at her confused but before she could ask her what was going on, Emma spoke up.
“Okay, (Y/N), your present is right outside, but I didn't have time to wrap it which is why I need you to close your eyes for a second.” Emma announced, grinning at her. She felt everyone's eyes on her and saw them smiling weirdly at her as if they all knew something she didn't.
“What is going on here?” She asked confused, looking back at everyone.
“Will you just close your eyes please? Or do I need to put on the blindfold again?” Emma asked, pulling out the blindfold again.
(Y/N) quickly shook her head at that and closed her eyes. “Alright, my eyes are closed, now.”
“Okay, just give me a second.” Emma answered as she walked back outside to grab the present.
“Can I open my eyes now?” (Y/N) asked after a while, getting a little impatient.
“Yeah, you can open them now. I hope you like my present, (Y/N).” She heard her best friend say. (Y/N) opened her eyes and when she saw what her present was, she instantly felt her eyes fill with tears again.
“Surprise! You didn't really think that I would miss your birthday, did you, babe?” Her boyfriend Noah asked, as he stood in front of her, with a wide smile on his face and a beautiful bouquet of flowers in his hands.
“Oh my gosh, Noah!” (Y/N) exclaimed in disbelief as she rushed over to him. Noah handed the flowers over to Emma just in time for his girlfriend to jump into his arms. (Y/N)'s friends all watched the scene with tears in their eyes, some of them capturing the surprise with their phones.
“I don't understand how you're here, right now. Didn't you say that you couldn't clear your schedule for today?” (Y/N) held on to her boyfriend and sobbed into his neck, smudging Noah's white shirt with her tears and make up.
Noah pulled back from (Y/N) to look at her, his eyes also filled with tears. “I've known for a while that I was available for your birthday, but I wanted to suprise you, which is why I didn't say anything to you. I obviously needed some help to plan everything, so I called Emma and once I told her about my plans, she immediately agreed to help me out and set this whole surprise party up. I know I basically lied to you when I said I couldn't come, and I hope you're not mad about that. You know I never wanted to lie to you, but I had to in order to surprise you and for everything to work out.”
(Y/N) put both of her hands on each side of Noah's face and smiled, “Don't worry about that, I'm not mad at all. How could I be, when you flew all the way from Vancouver just to surprise me for my birthday? I can't believe you did that for me.” She started to tear up again as she looked at him and Noah immediately wrapped his arms around her.
“Please don't cry, baby, you're gonna make me cry too.” Noah said as he gently wiped at a tear that was rolling down her cheek.
“You're already crying.” (Y/N) said, pointing at his face.
“What? No, I'm not, I mean, I wasn't crying. I just had something in my eyes.” He wiped at his eyes and laughed a little before he said, “I would do anything for you, (Y/N). I'd fly to the end of the world and beyond just to be with you.”
(Y/N) smiled and leaned in, kissing him for the first time in weeks. She knew that her friends were all watching, but she didn't care about that. She only cared about this moment with Noah and to finally be reunited with him.
“I missed you so much, Noah. I can't believe you're actually here right now. I'm so happy, it feels like I'm dreaming.” She said, once they pulled apart from each other.
Noah poked at her nose and smiled, “You're not dreaming, (Y/N), I'm really here and I'll be here for the rest of the week. Happy birthday, baby.”
“Thank you, sweetie. This is the best birthday I've ever had and you're the best present I've ever gotten.” (Y/N) stared at her boyfriend again, before pulling him close to her again.
“You're welcome, baby. But I don't think I'm the only one you should be thanking here. I couldn't have pulled this surprise off without Emma's amazing help. You're really lucky to have a best friend like her, (Y/N).” Noah said, nodding towards Emma, who was smiling from ear to ear as she watched the two of them.
(Y/N) nodded, “You're right. I'm lucky to have such amazing people in my life and feel so incredibly grateful for everything today.” She then walked over to her best friend Emma and pulled her in for another hug.
“I love you so much, Em. Thank you for doing this. You're the best friend anyone could ever ask for.” (Y/N) kissed Emma on the cheek before looking at her with teary eyes.
Emma just shrugged, a huge grin on her face. “Anything for you, (Y/N).”
(Y/N) hugged her one more time before she turned her attention back to Noah. “So you're here for an entire week?”
Noah nodded. “Yeah, I am. I already cleared my schedule weeks ago just so I could be with you. Sorry again for lying to you, baby. But the look on your face when you saw me was worth all the trouble. I kinda wish I'd caught it on camera.”
“Well, you two are lucky then, because I did catch (Y/N)'s face on camera. I actually filmed the whole surprise, because I knew you'd want to see it. Maybe you can even share it on your channel later.” Emma chimed in, looking at (Y/N).
“I don't have a video for this week yet, so that's actually a great idea, Em.” (Y/N) agreed, giving her best friend a grateful smile.
Emma just shrugged, “Of course it is. All my idea's are great, including throwing this party.”
“Speaking of party. I think it's time we actually start celebrating now. So let's get this party started everyone!” (Y/N) announced, looking at all the guests.
“It's not a real birthday party without a proper birthday cake, so let's have the birthday girl blow out some candles first.” Emma said, before she went over to the food table to grab the cake.
“Can someone grab the candles, please? They're in my bag over there.” Emma nodded towards her bag in the corner of the room.
“Sure, I've got this.” Noah said, before he grabbed the candles out of Emma's bag. He then helped to place the candles on the cake and lit them before everyone started singing “Happy Birthday” for (Y/N). After she blew out the candles they all ate some cake before officially starting the party.
****
It was a little while later and everyone was enjoying (Y/N)'s birthday party. A few people were singing karaoke over by the karaoke booth, another group was on the dance floor while Emma, Noah and (Y/N) were chatting by the snack and food table.
They were in the middle of a conversation, when a slow song came on and a few people started leaving the dance floor.
“I really hate to interrupt your heated discussion about who the best Chris' is, but I would like to ask my girlfriend something, if that's okay.” Noah said, looking at Emma and (Y/N).
(Y/N) nodded, “Of course that's okay. What do you want to ask me, baby?”
“Well... I was wondering if I could have this dance with you?” Noah asked, as he held out his hand for her. (Y/N) smiled and took his hand before they walked onto the dance floor together. Noah pulled her close and rested his hands on her waist while (Y/N) wrapped hers around his shoulders. They slowly swayed to the music together. The both of them enjoyed this little moment together, the comfortable silence between them making this moment even more perfect.
After a while Noah locked his eyes with hers and said, “In case you didn't know or haven't heard it yet, you look amazing, baby.”
(Y/N) couldn't help but blush at his compliment. “Thank you, honey. You look so handsome yourself.”
“You're so beautiful inside and out, I don't even know how I got so lucky to have you as my girlfriend. I'm so crazy about you, (Y/N).” Noah put one hand on her face, caressing it gently with his thumb while the other one remained on her waist.
“I'm the lucky one, Noah. Sometimes I still can't believe you're mine and I ask myself every day how, out of all the women in the world, you chose me to be yours.” (Y/N) answered, looking into his golden brown eyes.
“I chose you, (Y/N), because I love you. Only you. Forever and always.” Noah said, before he kissed her softly. (Y/N) kissed him back, smiling into the kiss.
“I love you too, Noah Centineo, and I can't wait to spend the rest of the week with you.” (Y/N) whispered back after they pulled away from the kiss.
“We're gonna make the most of it, I promise.” Noah said and (Y/N) nodded, running her hand down his chest.
“And I promise to enjoy every single minute of it.” She answered before kissing him again.
The End.

Volume 7, Episode One: The Greatest Kingdom
Tumblr media
So, I’m gonna be doing something that I haven’t done before and make some reviews on each episode of Volume 7. After watching this first episode, I have many feelings towards it.
Under the Read More because spoilers!
I’m gonna start positive on this review before getting into the negatives, because there were actually a lot I liked about this episode.
First, the colours and animation. CRWBY have been getting better and better with their backgrounds and colour schemes throughout the years and it really shows. The industrial aspect of Mantle is sold with the dusk colours, purple and reds, and the neon lights distinguish it from the more rural and asian inspired Mistral architecture.
On top of that, the first episode does a great job in setting out just what it’s like to live in Mantle. The people seem disenfranchised, you have people drunk in street, and the racism is so ingrained that people just behave that way in the open with no fear of reprimand. With the billboards showing Ironwood telling these strict rules, and soldiers roaming the streets with droids, it very much paints Mantle in a dystopian light.
On the characters, I’m love that Ruby and Weiss immediately jump to protecting Blake from the drunk guy. With what little interactions we get for Ladybug, I’m glad that we’re getting something, and that Weiss has grown so much from her Volume 1 attitude to the Faunus to now. Great character development.
Also Maria is pretty funny again. She annoyed me at the end of Volume 6 with her antics, but it’s nice that she’s climbed back up my list again. I think it was a good idea that she’s not arrested with the others, and I hope that she takes a backseat this volume simply because she’s not needed anymore. The team are in Atlas, Ruby’s learned her silver eyes, and Maria isn’t good in a fight. She’s ran her course.
The new character we got in Pietro Polendina, Penny’s father. All I have to say about him is:
I. Love. Him. On top of his good design with elements connecting to Penny, he’s another disability representation with his wheelchair, and his chair has such a cool design. It looks exactly what a smart and innovative creator would make. And he’s voiced by Dave Fennoy. One of my favourite characters in all media is Lee Everett from The Walking Dead Game, and they got his voice actor to play Pietro.
That’s a big plus for me.
The fight we got in the episode was very well done. The animators knocked it out of the park with the fight choreography, especially with Qrow and his scythe. The one negative I have is that it feels a bit slow and static in some places, especially with Weiss, but that’s just a problem with her since now her fighting style is stand in one place and use your glyphs. The inter-team fighting is great, I love Weiss and Ren working together, and Nora using Jaune’s shield to launch herself is such a nice nod to her move with Pyrrha back in Volume 1.
Last thing that I like is Penny’s design. It’s really cute, reminds me of those Victorian dolls, and her new hair is so pretty, if a bit janky in some parts. I know that they obviously took inspiration from Dishwasher’s design of Penny, which makes sense considering he’s working for RT now.
And this is where I start getting negative, because there are some parts that I really don’t like.
#1 thing that has made me angry is Penny returning. I hate it. I’ve already made a post months ago about why they shouldn’t bring Penny back, so I’m not gonna repeat myself here, but the simplified explanation is:
It spits in the face of her arc. Penny was struggling with the fact that she’s not a real girl because she’s a robot, with Ruby helping her by saying that, because she has a soul, she is real. This has always been a driving point for Penny. When she died, it drove Ruby and Pyrrha to grief, but it served a purpose because that was when things were getting serious. Ruby just lost her best friend, and Pyrrha won like she always did, but this time her victory came at a price.
Pyrrha killed someone. She was devastated, Ruby was heartbroken, but now all this was for nothing because apparently Penny can just be rebuilt! Who cares that your friend is dead and you watched it before your eyes? She’s back now so it’s all okay!
Real people don’t come back from the dead. Pyrrha is not coming back, everyone who died is not coming back, the whole point that Salem never understood in her backstory is that people can’t come back from the dead. But Penny can, because she’s a robot so of course we can just put her back together. It’s reads off as Penny being a cheap plot point. Ruby could’ve gone through an arc of accepting that her friend was gone and finally talk to someone who knew Penny, but no, because we gotta have powerpuff girl back.
Also Team WBY’s comments are dumb. You guys didn’t know Penny, you only interacted with her once for the entire three volumes she was alive, why are you acting like you’re friends with her? I hate it so much it’s unreal.
Moving on from Penny, beside her, Ruby, Yang and Qrow, the new outfits are bad. The excess use of belts are not only annoying, but they’re clunky and disrupt the flow of the outfit. They make them too busy. The lack of textures makes everything look the same, the overall designs are seriously inappropriate for both Atlas weather and the fact that they’re meant to be fighting.
Weiss’ ballerina style fighting is going to be seriously impeded by her long and heavy looking dress. Blake is meant to be a stealth fighter who uses acrobatics, leather catsuits chafe and rub you up in all the wrong ways, and the fact that white is overcoming the black is annoying. Her colour is black, put her in it.
On top of colours, Nora’s is just way too bright. It’s colours from her original outfits but there’s just too much saturated blue and pink, it’s way too much. Her old outfit was perfect with the pink taking center stage and the blue being way darker in her jacket. The fact that it mimics the trans flag colours is funny though, as a trans man myself.
But a final note on the designs is the hairstyles. Jaune’s doesn’t look as bad as I thought if he’s moving, so that’s a plus, but Weiss and Blake’s are just ugh. I had wild hair like Blake’s when I had it longer, and even though I cut it now, it’s still curly. Why is Blake’s hair so lifeless? It looks thin, flat and greasy, and the added problem with it is that her face looks wierd now.
The whole braid on Weiss is way too thick as well, and just isn’t rendered nicely.
Moving on, we have the new characters introduced. Clover and his team, Robyn, Pietro, on top of the previous characters returning, it’s a big problem. The cast is already too bloated, we don’t need Clover and his team adding more and taking away screen time that the other characters need. Why even introduce him when you could easily use the wide cast you already have? Bring Neon and Flynt back, have them be older students than Team RWBY in the Vytal Festival and then they graduated the whole year since the Fall of Beacon.
It woulda added more to the scene, or just have it be guards who disappear after taking the team in. Just stop adding new characters, I literally don’t care about them. And the fact that the heavily Irish-inspired character doesn’t have an Irish accent is bad and I disapprove as an Irish person.
Finally, the OP. I like the actual animation of it, it definitely feels different to the other OPs in the past volumes, but it’s pretty good! I just don’t like the song. Not only can I not understand what Casey is saying, which is something not unique to this song I know, but it doesn’t feel like a RWBY song. All the other openings are rock with ripping guitars and wild energy.
This just doesn’t have that. It feels like a generic anime song to me, and that’s sad because the music has always been that unchanging praise for RWBY from me.
And that’s it for this episode! Overall, I’d actually really enjoyed it! It was fast, great fighting, good characters and interpersonal moments, and the fact that Dave Fennoy is here just sold it. I’d give my soul to that man.
Now if CRWBY has him call Penny “sweet pea”, I will literally cry.
So in conclusion, I’d give the episode a 8/10. Needs improvement, but amazing regardless.

‘I’m sorry Y'all are missing this in action because it’s good’
It’s times like this when he can truly feel the deja vu. Walking into the werkroom again felt too different, he was more confident this time around, more assertive. He didn’t really fear what was to come, more like fear repeating his mistakes again, but even that seemed like small potatoes. If he could spin 30 seconds of fame into a year imagine what he could do with a full minute. Somehow though, standing in a corner watching 13 different queens transform into (not bad looking) men, it was closer to the original experience than he had bothered to consider. He once again felt like a bobbing cork, out of his depth but just about floating in a wave of beautiful people.
Having been able to watch all of the girls walk in, he’d already scoped them out to a fair extent. He knew Scarlett would look like a twink and was convinced that Ariels’ makeup was not just makeup but maybe some extensive injections. He’d seen Plastique online and Shuga in a gig somewhere, sometime a while ago, but Brooke; she confused him. The way she painted her angles so softly threw him when she stepped back away from her mirror. Her real jaw was defined and her high cheekbones could cut someone. By all means, she was a very handsome man.
He locked eyes with her for a second as he slowly took off one of two quite painful thigh high boots. She was stood calmly, sans face with her naturally tousled hair and an open khaki shirt that was killing him. He had to force himself to look away.
Turning back to his own mirror (though keeping Brooke firmly in his eye-line through the reflection) he made quick work of removing his own face. The face it'self didn’t seem too difficult to manage and he threw on a snap-back to cover his wig hair but the chest glitter was a whole different story. On the plus side, it gave him a perfect excuse to stand in some very skimpy shorts and his favourite hat, shirtless and staring directly at Brooke. You win some, you lose some.
‘Yeah I think Vanjie’s trade, I think she’s very handsome’
Walking in had been the most terrifying thing he’d done since Miss Continental. It wasn’t even necessarily the prospect of the cameras or even the prestige of the show, It was just the pure dread of the competition.
Despite his fear, he was so comfortable in his outfit. It felt right to look so Canadian having spent 10 years trying to get the correct visa to be able to compete. He knew the glitter shone just right, the hat was perfect and the hair, his usual sleek blonde bob. They could come for everything he was but they couldn’t fault his looks. He could only hope the confidence he had in his outfit had carried through into how he walked in. The tiny Canada flag had been a last minute find but effective and the national anthem had only served to highlight his entrance as something fantastic. He hoped.
Seeing Nina West stood at that table in a bright yellow coat had been the true blessing though. Seeing a familiar face in a sea of beautifully painted men in wigs was his saving grace. The familiarity brought him out of his shell a bit, allowed the queens to see his personality, something he tended to keep more hidden when in a room full of other queens who he didn’t know (or care for yet). But behind the hoard of strong personalities and tall drinks of water stood a tiny Puerto Rican in red that he immediately set his eyes on. He recognised her, of course - who wouldn’t?
So he made it his mission, get her attention. He knew he looked good both in and out of drag. Naturally blessed with solid bone structure and years of professional ballet training giving him toned musculature that most men would kill for. He didn’t doubt she would notice.
His first mission was to get the unusually tight outfit off and free his tuck, a surprisingly quick job - purely due to how uncomfortable he was in it after that photo shoot. Once the outfit was gone, and he’d changed into some respectable cotton shirts and an open green khaki shirt, the wig went too. He would later deny all knowledge but at the time he spent a somewhat ridiculous amount of time fixing his hair to look soft and tousled. The curly look usually worked for him with the gays and he hoped that it would have the same effect on her. (She would admit easily, some weeks on, that that hairstyle was her favourite).
The final step in his transformation was to wipe off all of the makeup from his face, giving him back his jawline. Fresh-faced, he stepped back from his mirror and looked over to where she was trying her hardest to remove her boots. It took all he had not to laugh or lend a hand as he serenely watched on. They made eye contact. She broke it first.
  **********
They would repeat this later. When he was removing yet another short blonde wig and her’s was darker. When she had to spend another ten minutes removing her chest glitter and he was coated in lube from the latex catsuit that he still couldn’t quite realise he’d pulled off. When he was high off a win and when she was high of still being there.
In fact, they’d repeat this at every opportunity. Sometimes he’d be happy and she was sad but they were both wearing orange. Others, he’d be upset but she’d be there to comfort him with soft touches and unacknowledged looks and a level of hidden love that would go on to be not so hidden just a week later, but it was okay. Eventually, she’d be trying to take off another goddamn thigh high (‘why the hell do you wear them babe when you can’t get them off?’ ‘because they make me look fucking good’) and he’d help her.
That would all come. But for now, there were lingering looks across a crowded room, holding them together.

There’s a lot going on in this post that I really want to address lol Mercury just went Direct so I don’t want to forget to mention anything I’ve been thinking about because I want to speak some things into existence.
This was a TV show called Noah’s Arc about the lives of Four gay best friends living in Los Angeles, with Noah undeniably being the main character. It premiered in October 2005 on the Logo cable-television network, quickly becoming the network's most popular program, and was Logo's highest-rated original series. I remember being maybe 11 or 12 stumbling across this show on the internet, I didn’t even find out about it until maybe 2007. Too bad it was cancelled shortly after 2006. I’ll admit, being very young and trying to figure out my sexuality I was only interested in the show for the very hot actors lol but as I got a little older I started to really see the world for what is was(I will get to this later) and actually held much appreciation for this show.
Let’s start with Noah, a concept. I recently went to this LGBT Seminar in Harlem where the creator of Noah’s Arc, Patrick Ian-Polk, was a guest speaker. Respectively, he is very well known in the Gay black community as the show’s creator and he was explaining his ideas that contributed to creating Noah’s Arc. He said something that particularly stuck to me about the character Noah being “sort of a Fantasy” don’t quote me but I very much remember the fact that there seemed to be a lot of Depth behind the idea of Noah being a Fantasy.
Noah was not very masculine, he was more of a feminine bookworm, it’s safe to say that he was more feminine based on his Voice, Wardrobe, and based on the way His boyfriends treated him. As a young boy, seeing this made me much more hopeful that Being Black and Gay was okay and that it was possible to find true love. Racial Representation in TV Shows is very important because we all know Society has a certain standard when it comes to promotion and Beauty, we can’t deny it, especially in America. Seeing a familiar image of Yourself on TV unconsciously informs us of our worth in the world. We ALWAYS see the “love interest” in most Hollywood shows and films being White, Blonde, Long Straight Hair, etc, and representation for Black Femininity and Beauty is at an all time low. Also being Feminine, Gay and Black? The way kids can be cruel and how the world already has it’s prejudices, being the combination of those three things can be seen as simply asking for ridicule. I think this was one aspect of what Director Patrick Ian-Polk thought of as Noah being a Fantasy, because it seems like in the world we live in, it would be a Fantasy to see a Beautiful Feminine Black Boy with Long Natural Hair being the Beautiful One, The Love Interest, or hell even just the main character.
I feel like I connect with the character Noah through many aspects of life, including his Hair. I started growing my hair out in 2011 and I remember going to my Childhood barber basically asking him how do I get curly hair lmao but that is a whole other conversation.... I eventually achieved the look that I wanted maybe 2 or 3 years later. At this time I was around 16 and I had achieved this look that I pictured in my head and I went back to watching Noah’s Arc. I noticed that I looked like Noah. I was Noah. Every aspect of his life was reflecting into my own life. I felt beautiful, I felt wanted by other men romantically... It wasn’t my intention to look exactly like Noah or maybe it was, but when I started growing my hair out the Natural Hair movement wasn’t as big as it is today. Nevertheless it was very much on the come up, there were very few black guys with long hair around me so I saw them mostly on tumblr and other social media sites. But now I can not deny the fact that Noah inspired my hair journey, and helped form my views of myself as a Gay man. Also, the hairstylist for this show deserves an award for promoting natural hair before it was even a movement. It’s very interesting to me, Noah’s Arc had the most versatile hairstyles for natural hair EVER seen on Television. I intentionally wanted you all to see that through the pictures.
It is a little difficult to watch the show online for free, I’ve tried many tv shows sites and didn’t get very far. If you got the coins like that, purchase the show it’s only 2 seasons, DVD online whatever, it was a really good show. Noah was played by Darryl Stephens and Noah’s boyfriends name was Wade. Maybe I’m living in a fantasy but I’ll be lucky if someone as handsome as Wade looks at me like he did Noah.
The true Standard of Beauty cannot be defined. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, beauty is not one specific thing. America and Hollywood like to push a certain standard which makes it harder for it’s polar opposites to get any recognition. You don’t have to look like Blake Lively to be seen as perfect, no shade to her but I’m bingeing Gossip Girl so it makes sense to me. I feel like I’ve found one of my purposes in life. As an actor, I want to portray character like Noah. Even if I only am known for one role, I want to change the way black men can be viewed just like Noah’s Arc did for me.

Stardust Cafe
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LANCE! To celebrate, I’m posting the first chapter of a slowburn, klance, cafe AU that I’m co-authoring with an irl friend! We’ve had this idea for a while, and we’re really excited to share it with you! The first chapter is the only one that’ll be entirely up here, but I’ll make posts whenever it updates. The entire fic will be posted here on my AO3!
Summary: Keith didn’t expect much when he took a job at his brother’s cafe. And he definitely didn’t expect to meet a group of amazing people that would forever change his life as a result.
Lance didn’t expect to actually befriend his new coworker with an 80′s mullet and absolutely no people skills whatsoever.
Neither of them expected to fall in love.
Chapter One
Getting a job at his older brother’s cafe wasn’t Keith’s idea.
Dropping out of college earlier that year was the best decision he had ever made, but he should’ve known it wouldn’t come without consequences. Those consequences being, namely, dealt out by his brother, Shiro.
Granted, he was supportive of Keith’s decision, but he hadn’t counted on Shiro insisting that he do something with his life.
As far as Keith was concerned, getting his life together and figuring out exactly what he wanted to do should take pretense over actually doing something, but Shiro clearly disagreed.
“You have to get a job,” he’d pointed out. “You’ve incurred a lot of debt since you dropped out of school. You know I support you, but you need some way of earning money while you figure everything out.”
And so Keith had reluctantly agreed to get a job at Stardust Cafe, which was owned by Shiro himself.
Keith didn’t know the exact details, but the previous owner, Alfor something, had left it to Shiro when he passed away, as he’d worked there for all of college and part of high school, and knew he wanted to work in the restaurant business. And, with an incredible stroke of (admittedly bad) luck, Shiro had exactly what he wanted.
This was how Keith ended up pushing open the door to the Cafe, and jumping slightly at the unexpected jingle of bells. He’d never actually been inside Shiro’s cafe before, despite constantly being pestered to go.
He glanced around at the circular tables and chairs in the other half of the shop, and at the back was an elevated platform, that looked almost like a stage, with more seating. That side was separated with an open wall, and Keith looked toward the front.
A few people were standing in line, waiting by the counter. A chalkboard menu behind it listed the food options, and Keith could see the door into the kitchen behind the people working there.
He had vaguely expected Shiro, but he was surprised to find the person standing at the cash register was much younger, probably about Keith’s own age, with dark hair, eyes, and skin. Admittedly, he was kind of cute.
Keith definitely hadn’t thought he’d meet any cute guys because of this job.
The guy behind the counter was glaring down at the cash register as if it had personally offended him, before he turned around and called into the kitchen. “Pidge! I need your number skills!”
A scoff sounded from somewhere inside, and a… boy? girl? walked out carrying a textbook that looked as if it weighed more than her… him… them. They set the large textbook down on the counter, and glanced up at the tall guy.
“Lance, do I have to do everything for you?” Pidge asked, shaking their head.
The guy, who Keith now figured was named Lance, crossed his arms. “It’s not my fault that this cash register doesn’t even work.”
Pidge rolled their eyes. “It works fine, you just don’t know how to use it.” To prove this, they stepped forward and pressed a few buttons before handing change to the waiting customer, a girl with large hoop earrings and a pixie cut, smiling as she left. “Seriously, I’m surprised Shiro doesn’t fire you. This is the easiest job here, and you can’t even do it without my help.”
“I’m surprised Shiro doesn’t fire you,” Lance shot back, as he took money from the next customer before handing it to Pidge. “You spend all your shifts doing physics homework.”
Pidge laughed, handing change back to the customer, along with a muffin from a display case that Lance gave them. “Taking AP Physics sophomore year has its consequences,” they admitted. “But I pick up everyone’s slack. Plus, Shiro likes me, and you all know I need the cash.”
Lance nodded grudgingly, and then his gaze swiveled to Keith, which is when the latter conveniently realized that there was no longer anyone in front of him.
Lance’s eyes widened, almost imperceptibly, which drew Keith’s attention to them. He saw that Lance’s eyes, which he had originally thought to be brown, were actually a deep navy blue.
Keith was about to ask to see the manager, when Lance leaned forward across the counter with a smirk, propping his chin up on his hand. And then, he winked.
Keith’s brain short-circuited.
“Do you have a map?” Lance asked, still smirking, and Keith was so surprised that he almost admitted that yes, he did have a map. But Lance was talking again before he could. “Because I keep getting lost in your eyes.”
Keith felt his face begin to flame in spite of himself, and there was an audible groan from Pidge. “These one-liners just keep getting worse,” they grumbled.
Lance sighed. “You’re the worst wingman… well, wingperson ever Pidge.”
Pidge sniffed in mock resentment, before cracking a grin. “I don’t remember agreeing to be your wingperson,” they deadpanned, before turning back to a still blushing Keith. “What can I get for you?”
“I…” Keith took a moment to collect himself. “I need to see the manager.”
Lance didn’t miss a beat. “Normally people try our food before they demand to see the manager to complain about it,” he pointed out, still wearing that infuriating smile.
Pidge snorted. “He’s probably going to complain about you, Lance. Didn’t Shiro warn you to stop flirting with all the customers?”
“I’m not a customer,” Keith said, without thinking. “The manager… Shiro’s my… I just need to talk to him, okay?”
“I’ll go see if he’s in the kitchen,” Pidge said, still seeming confused.
“What’re you here for, anyways?” Lance asked, lifting a smoothie (that Keith hadn’t even noticed until now) to take a sip. “If you’re not buying any of our delicious food, I mean. The chef is my roommate, I can personally vouch for him.”
“I’m supposed to start working today, actually.”
Lance nearly choked on his smoothie. “What the fuck?!”
Keith wasn’t sure how to respond, so he just waited for the taller boy to elaborate.
“Did I miss the help wanted sign? You can’t just… there isn’t a job opening!” Lance protested, throwing his hands up in the air as if the world had to be playing a trick on him. “Mierda, first Allura starts working at the counter sometimes, and now this!”
“Well, someone has to pick up your slack, Lance,” a new voice said, and Keith turned to see a woman coming out of the seating area. She had thick, curly white hair done in an elegant bun, and her skin was dark and smooth. She carried an empty tray in each hand, with a pen tucked behind her ear.
“You guys act like I’m the only one that slacks off around here,” Lance muttered under his breath. “Allura, would you please tell this idiot that there aren’t any job openings?”
“That idiot is my brother, Lance,” yet another person spoke, but thankfully Keith knew this one. Shiro had stepped out of the kitchen, followed by Pidge.
Lance’s gaze swiveled back and forth from Shiro to Keith. “This is your little brother Keith?” Shiro nodded. “But… you always talk about how cool he is! You said he has a motorcycle!“
“I do have a motorcycle?” Keith didn’t mean for it to be a question, but the confusion he felt seeped into his voice.
Lance waved a dismissing hand at him. “Sure, but you also have a mullet, and that negates any coolness factor you might have possessed, motorcycle or no.”
“Excuse me?”
Shiro sighed. “Regardless of his hairstyle choices, Keith is my brother, and he’ll be working here with us starting today. That’s not going to be a problem, is it, Lance?”
“I was wondering why you decided to bring everyone in today,” Pidge was already nodding, extending a hand to Keith. “I’m Pidge. Yes, I’m short. Don’t make jokes about it and we’ll get along fine. They/them pronouns, and if you disagree with that sort of thing, then that’s tough for you. Still in high school, by the way, but I’m broke so I started working here. That’s pretty much all you need to know.”
Keith shook their hand, mind trying to process what Pidge had said so quickly. “Uh… great?”
Pidge grinned, and retreated back into the kitchen. “I’ll go get the others.”
“I’m Allura,” the woman who’d walked in earlier chimed in. “This used to be my father’s cafe, but Shiro and Coran own it now… though Coran hates being in charge, which makes Shiro the manager. We have a pretty small staff, and I’m typically the one who waits tables. It’s nice to finally meet you!”
Shiro fixed Lance with an expectant look, and he crossed his arms before glancing up at Keith with an annoyed glare.
“You’re shorter than I thought you’d be,” Lance informed him. “Shiro made it sound like you were some rebellious tough guy.”
“Lance,” Shiro insisted, narrowing his eyes. He sighed, defeated, and shook Keith’s hand.
“The name’s Lance,” he deadpanned. “I work behind the counter.”
That seemed like all he wanted to say, but fortunately for Keith two more people were coming out of the kitchen.
“I’m Hunk,” said the bigger guy, with a friendly smile. He wore a bright yellow apron that was positively covered in flour. Almost the second he was out, Lance leaned an elbow on his shoulder. Hunk sighed fondly. “I’m the chef. I made the majority of what you see here myself.”
“I made some of it,” the other man, an older guy with a mustache, pointed out. “I’m Coran. I help out in the kitchen, but mostly I make drinks.”
“You… make cocktails?” Keith asked, confusion only rising.
Coran barked out a laugh. “Of course not! Smoothies, milkshakes, coffee, tea, and all those things take time to perfect, young man.”
“Well, you’ve met everyone,” Shiro clapped a hand on Keith’s shoulder. “Now you can get to bussing tables. It’s something we’ve all shared the responsibility for, but having someone to do the job by themselves is probably the best course of action.”
Keith nodded. He was a very clean person, and he’d told Shiro that he’d only work at the cafe if he didn’t have to deal with food or people.
“Oh, thank god,” Lance breathed out, before Keith could say anything. “He’s just going to be a busboy.”
Keith scowled. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Nothing, nothing,” Lance threw his hands up in surrender. “I’m just glad you aren’t taking my job, that’s all.”
“Don’t worry, Lance, you’re the only one charming enough to ensure that customers always return,” Allura said, her voice walking that thin line between detectable sarcasm and sincerity.
Lance squinted at her, but either decided she was being honest or didn’t care, because he just winked. Then, he grabbed Hunk’s arm and dragged him back into the kitchen.
“You all seem very… nice,” Keith searched for the right words. “I guess I might like working here.”
“You’ll fit right into our dysfunctional family,” Pidge guaranteed with another grin.
“You hit on him, didn’t you?” Hunk asked, raising an eyebrow.
Lance groaned, and buried his face in his hands. “It’s not my fault! Did you see his eyes, Hunk? Those are the most beautiful eyes I’ve ever seen!”
Hunk shook his head. “You said the same thing about that brunette last week.”
“But I mean it this time,” Lance sighed dramatically, collapsing into Hunk’s shoulder. “And now I have to deal with him every day. He’s probably decided that he hates me already!”
“Relax. You’ve hit on regular customers before, why is this any different?” Hunk tried for encouragement. “Shay forgave you after that atrocious thing you said when you two first met! What was it again…? Something about sedimentary rock—”
Lance smacked a hand over Hunk’s mouth. “I’d rather not go down memory lane for all my past romantic failures, thank you, Hunk,” he grumbled. “It was such a good line, too! One of my favorites!”
“He works here now, sure, but he’s not going to hate you just because of a stupid pick-up line.”
“Pick-up lines aren’t stupid!” Lance cried, clutching a hand to his chest as if wounded. “And even if he doesn’t hate me, I’m not sure I like him all that much. He kind of seems like a jerk.”
“Which, I’m sure, is why you used one of your favorite lines on him,” Hunk said, voice laced with sarcasm. Lance felt his face turn bright red.
“I didn't— I just— okay, FINE! He’s hot! What else do you want me to say?”
Hunk laughed. “I thought you said his mullet negated any sort of cool factor he had?”
“He’s not cool,” Lance protested, shoving Hunk back towards the stove. “But… he kind of… pulls it off I guess? Which you are forbidden from ever telling him, or I will disown you as a best friend and move in with Pidge. After all, the guy still acts like an asshole.”
Hunk just laughed again, returning to making a grilled cheese that a customer had requested. But, as Lance was about to return to the register, he whirled around, grinning.
“I remember now!” he declared, excitedly. “The first time we met Shay was in the winter, when she came to get tea because of a cold, remember? I mean, now she gets it every day, but she was really bundled up, with a scarf and jacket and everything!”
“Oh no—”
“And you said, ‘girl are you a sedimentary rock?’” Hunk did a terrible impression of Lance’s voice, aiming finger guns at his best friend in mockery of Lance’s own behavior. “‘Because I’d love to see what’s under all those layers.’ And she was so surprised she couldn’t respond, so I came out of the kitchen to apologize.”
Lance smacked his head deliberately on the doorframe on the way out, only to meet the confused gaze of Keith. Great, now Shiro’s brother thought he was crazy, too.
It was going to be a long day for the both of them.

Title: Together Forever
Summary: It’s Katherine and Elijah’s wedding day. Mad Love series part 5.
Couple: Katherine and Elijah
K & E Please join us for the wedding of Katherine Pierce and Elijah Mikaelson ___________________________ One the eighth day of November, twenty-twenty-one at ten o’clock in the morning The Fearrington House Inn 2000 Fearrington Village Center, Pittsboro, NC Wedding will be outdoors and reception will be indoors
xXx
On a crisp and beautiful autumn day, dozens of people rushed around attempting to get their jobs done. For anyone else, it was just early November, but it was much more than that for a few. Today was the day Elijah Mikaelson and Katherine Pierce were to swear themselves to each for eternity.
Compelled workers ran every which way, both indoors and out. Setting up the reception area, putting tablecloths on tables, arranging flowers, setting chairs, just getting everything done and in place. There were still a couple hours left but still so much to set up.
The outdoor setting where the actual wedding was going to take place was mostly done. A final few chairs had to be placed, along with the aisle of fall leaves, and it would be finished. The reception area was a different story. The cake had yet to arrive, the caterer called in sick, someone had tripped and broken several glasses, and the white table clothes had gotten red wine spilt on them. To put it, everything was a disaster.
Katherine paced back and forth in the hotel room she rented to get herself dressed. She was beyond nervous, and now at the point of freaking out. Her hair was pulled up in a cute curly updo. Her makeup had a sexy yet girly tone. She sported a french manicure on both her toenails and fingernails. She was looking gorgeous. All she needed was to shed the silk robe and place herself in her dress, add the final accessories, and she would be done.
"Why is everything failing? Is this heaven actually punishing me?" The bride complained, falling onto the bed.
"Careful, Kat, your hair!" Caroline exclaimed, pulling the distressed girl to her feet.
"There are some minor setbacks." Davina murmured, unsure about the situation outside.
"Minor! Nothing is going right. There is no cake, no food, the glass is broken, and the tablecloths are ruined!" The curly haired girl cried out.
"Oh, yeah, this is a disaster." The nineteen-year-old witch agreed, grimacing at the blonde's glare. She shrugged at her and sat down.
Caroline, Freya, Davina, and Rebekah were Katherine's bridal party. All four had gorgeous floor length, claret-coloured dresses whose sleeves were off the shoulder. They paired the dress with three different hairstyles and matching black heels. Their necklaces and earrings matched each other too. They were a gift from the bride to her party.
In a short time, Katherine grew close with Davina and Freya. She had always liked Caroline's company. Rebekah hadn't been the worst once they got to know each other. The blonde Original couldn't deny that her brother loved the doppelganger, so she made an effort to be nice. Apparently, it worked on both ends.
"Katherine, dear, you need to calm down. Rebekah is out there right now with the boys." Freya took a seat next to the panicked bride, placing a hand on her back attempting to comfort her.
"Let's get you dressed instead," Caroline suggested. A sigh of agreement came from Katherine, so her bridal party got to work.
The curly haired brunette stepped into her white lace gown and pulled it up. Freya fastened it in the back while Davina slid the white lace fingerless wrist gloves onto Katherine's hands. Caroline put the diamond drop earrings on the bride. Then, did the clasp on the silver locket. It was a gift from Elijah back when they were dating the first time. It had her June birthstone and his August stone. Their names engraved on the inside.
Once the bride was all dressed up, the bridesmaids sat back and admired their work. Putting on the wedding gown and accessories did not cease her worries. Now, she was just going to have a harder time pacing around in panic mode.
"Maybe I should just go out there. See what needs to be done. Or go find Elijah." Katherine threw around a few options, standing up, brushing her dress.
"NO!" The three bridesmaids screamed. Caroline flew in front of the door to block the girl.
"Why not?" The blocked girl asked, looking at her friends.
"It's bad luck to see the bride. Elijah can't see you! Especially not in the dress!" Davina cried out in explanation, causing the blondes to collectively nod.
"Are you serious. One, Elijah knows what I look like. That rule was made for arranged marriages of people who weren't going to meet until their big day. Two, this day is already cursed, how can it get worse? And lastly, I want to see my fiance because he makes me feel better when I get worked up. Now, let me pass." Katherine was not having any wedding superstitions. She wanted to see her groom and if she had to resort to using her magic to do so, she would.
xXx
Elijah stared at his reflection in the mirror. He was fully dressed in his tuxedo, vest, and tie. He could hear people panicking around the Inn. Kol, Klaus, and Finn left to figure out what was happening and if they could help. Hope and the twins, bless their hearts, were trying to help the adults. The groom was left alone to wait and wonder.
He heard the door to the room open. Turning around, hoping to see a sibling of his with news, he saw Hayley instead. She walked into the room, heaven knows how she got a key. Her hair was done nicely to the side and she sported a beautiful dark blue dress with matching flats.
"Hayley, what are you doing here?" Elijah questioned his ex, staring at her quizzically.
"I had to drop Hope off and deal with the fact that I couldn't even get an invitation to this event." The hybrid girl explained, closing the door behind her. "I wanted to see you, Elijah. To talk to you."
"Hayley, I really don't have much to say back. I told you how sorry I was and that I wasn't leading you on." The suited Original told her bluntly. She bounced her head to the side with an annoyed look.
"Elijah, please. Don't do this." Hayley begged, placing her hands on his chest.
"Hayley," He began, looking to the side.
"No, Elijah. I love you, you love me. We have something special, had it since the day we met. Don't throw this away for a girl that you hate more than you love." She leaned up and forced the groom into a kiss.
A gasp was heard from the doorway. Two heads whipped around to see Katherine with tears in her eyes. As quickly as she was there, she was gone. Running away from the room. Elijah tried to run after her but was stopped by the hybrid in denial.
"Hayley, let go of me. While I did have deep feelings for you, I love that woman. That woman that you just made me hurt by not taking a hint. We may have had something, but that is over. When you were going to marry Jackson, I let you go to find happiness elsewhere. You need to do that now or leave." He explained patiently, with a tone of anger in his voice. He yanked Hayley's hand off his arm and ran after his bride.
The groom searched everywhere for his beloved. He hoped she was still on the property. Though, with her immense deity powers that came with being the devil, she could be anywhere in the world. Maybe even in hell. With a sigh of defeat, he leaned against the bark of a pretty autumn tree and closed his eyes.
The sound of slight crying, resembling his bride's caused his eyes to snap open. His head remained on its resting place, so the first place he looked was up the tree. Up in the branches, he spotted the love of his life. She was barefoot and in her gorgeous wedding dress.
"Katerina." He whispered up to her. Her watery eyes looked down at his face. Her poor makeup was ruined and her hair had a leaf or two in it.
"Go away. Go be with the werewolf. She's better for you." The girl whimpered, pulling her knees closer to her chest. She wanted to be angry, but all she could feel was sadness.
"Katerina, come down." He tried coaxing her down, but the stubborn bride-to-be stayed in the tree branches.
"No. Now go away." His bride hissed at him.
"Kat, please don't make me come up there. You know I am afraid of heights." Elijah complained lightly.
"That's why I am up here." She explained plainly.
"Fine." He nodded in defeat. Looking at the ground both ways, he took a soft on the cold, damp ground. "Look, I know you are mad at me, but you have to know; Hayley kissed me. I didn't kiss back. I would never do that to you. How many times do I have to prove to you that I love you and I am not going back to her."
"But, it is probably for best. Are wedding is cursed. Nothing is going right today. If that isn't a sign to not get married, I don't know what is." Katherine slid down the tree, jumping onto the ground. She knew that she looked like a mess, and was afraid to go back to her room to see herself.
"Katerina," Elijah stood up, placing both his hands on her cheeks, lifting her head up so he could look her in the eye. "I love you to your home and back. I don't care is God himself comes down and curses our entire marriage. I am marrying you today. Regardless of the cake or broken bottles or missing food or ruined tablecloths. Even if it starts pouring lightning and a fire tornado emerges to destroy us. We are getting married."
"Wow, if that all happens, we'd be really dumb to not listen." Katherine laughed, smiling through the disaster of makeup.
"Okay, so if that all happens, we will just get married another day," Elijah smirked. He leaned into her and captured her lips. "But I want to marry you. I'd like it to be today, but I can wait."
"I want to marry you, too." She whispered, hugging his chest.
"By the way, you look stunning. That dress is the most beautiful wedding dress in history." He mumbled into her hair.
"You're lying. I look disgusting. I'm a mess." The brunette girl complained.
"No, you look perfect. Now, let's get you to your bridal party to fix your makeup. We have to get married soon." Elijah grabbed her hand and the two made their way back to the Inn.
"I can't believe you want to spend the rest of your immortal life with me." Katherine shook her head, looking at her groom.
"After today, we will be together forever." The Original wrapped his arm around her shoulders. "You better get used to this."
"Let's get started on our eternity, then." The devil smiled lovingly at her fiance as he returned the gaze. They really were forever.
