Something I think about a lot is how Rick Riordan very rarely uses "girlfriend/boyfriend" to refer to Percy and Annabeth within their perspectives. They're so intertwined, even Annabeth says in hoh that the word boyfriend isn't strong enough, because Percy was a part of her. They are a singular soul, too wrapped around each others' fates that regular labels are far too weak for them. But, Rick Riordan uses "boyfriend" a lot in Nico and Wills perspectives, not because they love each other less than percabeth, but to show how much the word means to them. Nico uses it any chance he gets- "his boyfriend," "he actually had a boyfriend," because Nico has never been able to say that before. Their struggle with their queer identities mixed with Nico's catholic guilt and chronic everyone-hates-me disease makes the fact that he has someone to call his actual boyfriend so much more important to his character development.

too many of you guys think nico is the loser and not lewis for letting the divorce go on for so long. like they're both losers about each other. emotionally constipated idiots who can't talk about their toxic homoerotic friendship that imploded on itself like 8 years ago and are now making it everyone else's problem. yeah nico's on television or in beer gardens talking about lewis all the time but like every other month some reporter is like "lewis, what's your favorite moment in your career?" and lewis no hesitation is like "oh man, karting, y'know? everything was simpler then" and then spends another six months skirting around nico's name. like this whole thing they're doing in the media isn't some kinda extended foreplay for them. they're both still pressing on the bruise to make sure it's still there!!! every few months, they're literally just asking on public television, does it still hurt for you like it does for me? and like clockwork, someone will release new information about them or one of them will say something about each other (in my heart, he's still my best friend/yes... and teammate) and the answer will remain the same, yes, of course, always.

Lando's walk and talk interview with Nico was actually so lovely to watch

Nico joking they've got a bit of a race since he got his first win at his 111th race and Lando's on 109 and Lando saying "so it's coming"

it just felt like nice reassurance with the way Sky keep bringing up Lando's podium/race record instead of just praising his performance of the day that 'hey, it takes a while sometimes'

give me Annabeth focusing on her architecture from the moment she wakes up, putting painstaking detail into every draft, only to look up, and the sun's gone. give me the panic of where'd the day go? i've only been sitting here for a few hours—

give me Percy getting bored in class and drifting off into his own mind, only to wake up in a different class with no memory of how he got there. the panic when he realizes he lost a whole chunk of time—not uncommon with dissociation—but how can he be sure it wasn't Kronos?

give me Nico knowing he has to move, to get up and do something, but frozen in place. he's screaming at himself in his mind to just move, but he can't know if it's executive dysfunction or if he's been frozen in place.

give me demigods' minds becoming their enemies. give me common symptoms of ADHD and hyperfocusing terrifying the children who fought Time. and on the flip side, give me these demigods realizing that these are symptoms of their ADHD, and reclaiming them. i want demigods giving the finger to Kronos as they figure out how to move forward with executive dysfunction and their trauma, and becoming better off for it.
