Would very much like to see one of these family vacations in the cheating au. Satine talking up all the cute staff boys, Padme playing with the twins, Obi-Wan and Anakin obnoxiously flirting in the corner and Korkie desparately trying to ignore his father and uncle figure making fuck me eyes in public. God what an amazing vacation. And they took multiple??!? MULTIPLE!!
Ok so this didn’t get to the actual vacation. Mostly Obi-Wan plans an itinerary that makes sure the only time Anakin and Padmé are together is when they’re asleep because he’s petty like that. This is probably the nastiest cheating snippet yet— I don’t even like anidala and I feel bad for poor Padmé.
(1.2k)(nsfw)
It had been Obi-Wan who had suggested that they vacation together: him, his son, and Satine, and Anakin, Padmé, and the twins. The Kenobi-Kryzes own a lovely beach villa in Scarif. It would be a perfect, seasonal getaway.
Anakin had wanted to say no.
He’d wanted to say no through the planning and the packing, the letting the employers and staffers know, the arranging for Luke and Leia’s first inter-planetary travel.
He’d wanted to say no, but Obi-Wan had kept giving him reasons to say yes.
He’d been accosted at work so satisfactorily that when his boss had checked to make sure he really was going to take two weeks off in the middle of High Season, all he could muster was a glazed-eyed, breathy yeah.
Obi-Wan had done the bulk of the planning, though where he’d found the time between being the primary senator from Stewjon, head of at least five committees, fucking Anakin, probably fucking his wife as well, being a father to Korkie and a mentor to Padmé, Anakin doesn’t know.
It’d be impressive if it didn’t make him feel sick every time he thinks too much about it, which is almost constantly.
The itinerary, when Obi-Wan shows it to them over glasses of wine on Padmé and Anakin’s balcony, is obscene. If you know what to look for.
Satine obviously does, because she skims it quite quickly before leaning back in her chair. “Well,” she says with a light trill of laughter that’s too perfect and trained to be real. “It’s certainly not a couple’s vacation.”
Anakin tenses, even when he can’t help but agree with her. In all these plans and activities that Obi-Wan has drafted up, there is never one single moment where Anakin and Padmé are alone. Or, for that matter, Obi-Wan and Satine.
“Oh, I thought Ani and I could do those hot stone massagess aand the natural healing hot springs together,” Padmé says very diplomatically.
“I did read about those,” Satine replies. “Very good for married partners. Very rejuvenating.”
She takes another sip of her wine and Anakin hopes that she chokes on it.
“I suppose so,” Obi-Wan says. “Only I suppose I was hoping for a…a vacation with both our families, where we could all become closer. Padmé, you and I have gotten quite close over the years working in the Senate—” he gives her a wink and Anakin tenses.
Padmé lays her hand on his forearm in an effort to soothe him. “Now, Obi-Wan, you make it sound like we’ve been sleeping together,” she says with a laugh and a shake of her head. “We’re not,” this denial is probably for Anakin’s sake. Before—before they’d gotten married, before Obi-Wan had come into his life, Anakin had been quite possessive of Padmé’s time and attention.
Now it wasn’t the idea of her with another man that caused the flames of jealousy to start licking at his insides.
Obi-Wan seems to know it. “Darling, I would never.” Anakin relaxes, as if these words are directed to him. They probably are. “But the point still stands, I spend much more time with you and Satine than I do with Anakin. And when I do have the chance to stop by to say hello, he is always cooking dinner or fussing with fussy twins. Apart from the occasional flying lesson, I’m afraid I never properly spend time with the husband you always tell me so much about.”
“Excuse me,” Satine says. “I’m going to pour myself another glass. I’ll be right back.”
“And I doubt you spend much time with my wife either,” Obi-Wan coaxes, one hand wrapped around the stem of his wine glass, the other gently tapping the flimsi he’s printed the itinerary on.
Padmé looks considering. Anakin can’t believe Obi-Wan might just get away with planning a couples’ vacation with his paramour while both of their wives are also present.
He also can’t believe Obi-Wan’s nerve, trying to pretend that he doesn’t relish in the times he stops by the Coruscant apartments the Skywalker-Amidalas own and gets to lift one fussy twin from its crib and hold it to his chest until it falls quiet and content.
He’s fallen asleep still wearing his senatorial robes and cuddling one of Anakin’s babies more times than Anakin can count.
Once, during a flying lesson that was just a thinly veiled excuse to fuck amongst the stars, Obi-Wan had called them the twins. Not your twins. Anakin had caught the shift in phrase, how close it edged towards our twins.
“They’re not yours,” he’d muttered. “Alright?”
“Aren’t they?” Obi-Wan had responded, taking Anakin’s silence as a suggestion to flick on the auto-pilot of the ship and climb into his lap. “Only, darling, I’ve done the math, haven’t I? We’d been having our trysts for at least a month before your wife became pregnant. Who were you thinking about when you laid with her? Who were you trying to get out of your head?”
“You’re right,” Padmé finally says. “I suppose you’re right. Ani and I can take a couples vacation any time. Bail has a cabin in the Alderaan mountains, doesn’t that sound lovely for the winter, darling?”
“Yeah,” Anakin agrees, though he catches Obi-Wan’s eye when he says it. Obi-Wan’s expression is rather dark, and Anakin gets the impression the man would rather take a flame to the whole of Alderaan’s endangered forests than allow Anakin and Padmé to go on a couples vacation there.
“Perfect then,” Obi-Wan says. “I can’t imagine Anakin liking hot springs anyway. What was it you told me? Hot water itself is unnatural?”
“If I wanted to be boiled alive, I would be,” Anakin mutters. He can feel his wife turning to look at him.
“I didn’t know that,” she says. Anakin shrugs. It’d never come up.
Obi-Wan’s eyes glitter in victory, or something like it. “He only told me because I was talking about my reluctance to fly, as death by space is akin to being boiled, so I’ve heard. But I know the stress of the job, Padmé, I’ve booked a full spa day for you and my wife.”
“And what will you and Padmé’s husband get up to while we’re away?” Satine asks, sinking down in her chair and purposefully moving it closer to Obi-Wan’s. Anakin’s teeth clench. Ever since Satine found out who exactly Obi-Wan has been sneaking around to sleep with, she’s been insufferable.
“Let her have her fun, darling,” Obi-Wan had told him when he’d complained and worried that one day she’d tell Padmé about the affair. “Satine’s sense of loyalty is strange but strong. She knows that I would never forgive her should she play a part in taking you from me.”
“But they’re friends,” Anakin had protested even as he’d licked the sweat from Obi-Wan’s chest.
“Demonstrably not good ones,” his lover had pointed out. “Satine adores your wife but despises her naivety. I suppose she’s hoping this will serve as a wake up call for her. Should she find out on her own.”
Anakin hadn’t much liked that, the inevitability of the statement. But then, even the birth of his children hadn’t been enough to stop himself from falling into Obi-Wan’s bed.
“Oh,” Obi-Wan says with a wave of his hand. “We’ll come up with something.”
Padmé smiles tentatively. Her problem is that she spends half of her day fielding double speak and knife-filled smiles. Politicians never say what they really mean. They’re masters of saying twelve different things at once. It’s not that she doesn’t know this. It’s that she doesn’t think she needs to have her shields up around her closest friends, to be suspicious of the odd turn of phrase.
Her problem is that she loves them all and none of them deserve it.
Obi-Wan rests his chin on his hand. “Perhaps we can tend to the children while you and Satine are away.”
“A day’s spa trip does sound lovely,” Padmé says. “If you’re sure you wouldn’t mind. I know your Korkie is an angel, but our children are quite the hell-raisers.”
“I promise it would be no trouble at all to watch the children,” Anakin’s lover promises his wife with a glint in his eyes that practically screams our, our, our. He turns that gaze to Anakin. “Right, Anakin?”
His eyes have darkened, changed. Mine, mine, mine.
“Right,” Anakin chokes out. “Yeah, of course.”

Palpatine doesn´t like Luke in more ways than one
The throne room confrontation of ROTJ is in many ways the defining dramatic moment of the entire saga and it wasn´t just because for the physical fight between Luke and Vader but because of what was happening on their minds and their respective link to the light and darkside.I have often seen analysis of this moment and I wanted to cover Palpatine´s role in all this.
Tumblr media
Palpatine is the image of the devil in star wars, he´s the the beggining and the end of most of the bad things that happen in the saga and to the Skywalker family in particular but the throne room scene gets even more complicated with what the prequels showed us about who was Palpatine as a person and his relationship with Anakin, how it differs he the the way he managed things with Luke.
Tumblr media
Palpatine and Anakin meet since Anakin was a 9 year old boy and it´s been shown Palpatine had developed a relationship with him with the intention to groom him into the darkside, which he ultimately gets by presenting to Anakin the opportunity to save his wife from death. He doesn´t deliver on his promise but manages to turn Anakin into Vader and effectively use their previous interactions to keep Vader loyal to him despite the fact their relationship now is one of a sith master and his disciple, one in which he seeks to take everything good that ever was in Anakin until he turns him into the perfect Sith apprendice he always expected of him to be but at the same time, just as there is this hate relationship between them, there´s also a strong possessivenes over each other. Palpatine doesn´t like Vader thinking of his loved ones because this brings him closer to the light side, it gives him hope and emotionally distances him from the Emperor.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Palpatine never questions Vader´s loyalty until there´s some loved one of his previous life involved, be it Obi-Wan, Ahsoka or Padme. He often uses Vader´s own self hate to keep him distanced from them "You betrayed every loved one you had, you only have me left" which curiously rhimes with Yoda/Obi-Wans saying "Once you choose the darkside,it will forever control your destiny" and Vader shares this way of thinking for many years, he agreeds with his master and previous teachers, he´s a monster, there´s nothing he can do to change that, so he may as well keep doing his duty of "putting order in the galaxy" even if it´s an imperfect/unfair one, until he discovers Luke´s existence.
Tumblr media
While Vader´s initial intention/reaction towards Luke is possessive, dark and foreboding, he also longs to meet the child he didn´t get to raise,he wants to protect him from his master because he knows, Palpatine will want Luke death´s and there´s not much Vader can do to make him change his mind, besides offering to turn Luke to the darkside so Palpatine stops seeing him as a menace to his power.Vader at this point is hopeless, he knows he can´t defeat his master on his own and after Luke rejects his alliance on Bespin, he knows that if he were to oppose his master, he most likely would be killed and Luke with him. This sense of defeat, self hate and helpless is what keeps him chained to the darkside.
Tumblr media
What Vader ignores is that Palpatine doesn´t fear Luke´s power on it´s own, he also fears Luke´s mere existence, because of his influence on Vader, he knows Luke may have the key of freeing his apprendice from the darkside, who never quite got to fall completely, because despite the fact he commited atrocities, the reason he did so was born not out of a wish for power, like Palpatine himself, but a wish to keep his loved ones safe even if he did this in a twisted, possesive way.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Palpatine alone knows Luke has the potential to turn his father back to the light, in a way only his mother, Padme Amidala, could have done in the past. Yoda and Obi-Wan don´t know this, they believe Anakin fell because of his thrist for power and nothing Vader has done so far has convinced them this wasn´t the case, so they teach Luke to keep himself from feeling hate but also to be ready to kill his father but Palpatine knows better, he knows Luke has got more than a slight chance to turn his father.
So what does Palpatine do?, he promises Vader "they together can turn Luke" but he also makes Vader promise " If it can´t be done then we will kill him" he knows that even a darkside Luke who grew up on Tatooine looking up for his father, who joined the rebellion when he saw the extend of the Empire´s injustice, who have been training with Yoda and Obi-Wan, would rather kill him using the darkside than join him,the only thing Palpatine has that could tempt Luke is his compassion for his father and the opportunity to kill the Emperor. Palpatine needs Luke killed and he needs Vader to support this decision.
Tumblr media
Luke gives Anakin HOPE of another path, he (and Leia) are the NEW HOPE, Luke shows Vader by his mere existence and his actions, that there´s a world beyond the Sith or the Old Jedi Order teachings, beyond the slavery of the Empire and the Dakside, that he doesn´t have to condem himself to a life of evil and that he can choose another path and this was the one thing Palpatine had no hope to counteract, because it´s basic love and goodness born of genuine compassion, that for it´s simplicity is more powerful than anything he could have ever plan to counteract, this awakes Anakin enough to free himself and the galaxy from the Emperor not out of an abstract duty to an old prphecy but out of love and compassion for his Son and he doesn´t care anymore if he dies in the process.

Heart Of A Wolf
This is just a random thought I had and may make it into a series, not sure yet but I hope you enjoy. This is a 3am thing, so it may not be as good as it could be.
Translation :
Evaar'la wolf means young wolf
Buir means Father
Jedi Master Plo Koon must face the past when an unexpected arrival at the Jedi Temple causes certain events to unfold and Commander Wolffe is entrusted with his Generals most important possession.
The force works in mysterious ways, it lives in every creature, big and small, taking many shapes and forms among the vast populations of living organisms. But it was not the force that had brought you to the Jedi temple on Coruscant, it was fear of the darkness that had followed you halfway across the universe, nipping at your heels as you ran away. Everything that had been, everything you knew was gone, now ashes on a planet that many had overlooked and forgotten.
Ever since you had landed on Coruscant, you had made your way to the temple, your mind focused on one task, to find the one person who would be able to help you in your time of need. Now you stood, staring up at the towering structure of the Jedi Temple, the setting sun bathing its stone walls in a warm glow, like a beacon of light, like a beacon of hope. Taking a deep breath, you made your way over to some temple guards who were stationed at the entrance, they watched you as you approached, observing your every movement to ensure you weren't a threat.
"Sorry, but no civilians are allowed inside the temple without permission from the Jedi or other personnel." One stated when you stopped in front of them.
"I've heard, but I need to find someone. A Jedi who has this emblem, its important." You replied, pulling a small necklace from your pocket, a wolf head pendent dangling from the chain.
The guards seemed slightly taken aback by the sight of the necklace, they shared a look between each other, seeming to have a silent conversation before finally moving to let you pass. Two of them followed alongside you as you entered the temple, leading you down a few halls, already you had lost your way and you wondered how they remembered what hall led to where. You received many looks from passersby, temple workers, clones and even a few Jedi themselves. After a while, the guards stopped you outside a pair of double doors, asking you to stay put while they went inside to sort things out.
You watched as they disappeared, shuffling awkwardly in the empty corridor, alone once again. You turned to the open windows, deciding to sit on the ledge of one while you waited, the city of Coruscant spread out before your eyes. It was so different to what you had known, there were no open fields of green, no birdsongs to coax you from sleep, no rushing rivers to guide you home when you lost your path. It made you feel small, as if you were a child again but now you did feel lost, lost in the vastness of the galaxy.
It seemed like forever when the doors of the room finally slid open, you expected the guards to come out and tell you to leave but instead, you were greeted by the figure of a Kel Dor. You slowly got up from your seat, nervously playing with the necklace in your pocket , you opened and closed your mouth, trying to find something to say. Yet you couldn't find your voice, eyes downcast to stare at the floor as if were suddenly the most interesting thing in the galaxy. Did he remember you? Was he even aware of who you were? or of where you came from. Would he even believe you? You were so conflicted, your mind was too loud for you to even think clearly, every thought making your chest tighten with fear and anxiety.
"Evaar'la wolf"
The words made tears well in your eyes, the memory of the name spoken softly to you as a child suddenly swam in your mind, a younger version of yourself clinging to the side of the Kel Dor as you drifted to sleep.
"Buir." You whimpered, flinging yourself at him, arms winding around his waist in an embrace.
Despite being watched, Plo Koon wrapped his arms around you, pulling you closer as you cried softly into his chest. It had been many years since he had seen you, many years since he had left you in the care of your mother to continue his life as a Jedi. He remembered the few times he had seen you, never truly having a stable presence in your life. You were two by the time he first held you and you were five when he had last held you in his arms and you had cried like you did now, clinging to him like he would suddenly vanish and he had. He always wished you would understand why he had done what he had once you had grown. Now you were here, a young woman, as beautiful as her mother. Your lack of resemblance to him had always put him at ease, making him hope you could have a peaceful life without being ridiculed by some for being the child of two species. You were Mandalorian, like your mother, but you had his heart and spirit.
"Come now, young one."
He kept his voice soft as he let you go, guiding you into the room he had been occupying only moments before. You huddled into his side, greeted by the eyes of a few clones and what looked like two other Jedi. Plo Koon took you over to a create for you to sit on, along with two clones wearing grey and white armour, they were two of three that wore it, the last standing not so far away. You sniffled softly, feeling your father wipe away a few of your tears before turning his attention to the others in the room.
"Obi-wan, Anakin. If I may ask, would you do me the favour of rescheduling the meeting until tomorrow morning?"
"Of course Master Plo, I believe more important matters need to be tended to." Obi-wan replied, bowing his head respectfully before leaving the room with the Anakin and their clones.
The other clones stayed, looking towards their general for orders to leave but none came, so they were left to watch as Master Plo Koon crouched in front of the girl that had called him father. The clones were use to the caring side of their general, he treated them equally and fairly, making them feel like they were more than just numbers from a cloning facility. Yet it felt different now, as if he was treading in uncertain territory.
"You are a long way from home, young one."
"Home is gone father." Your voice trembled as you spoken, filled with sadness. "Its all gone, home, mother, everything."
"What happened?" One of the clones asked, his hair cut into two rows, savage scars running down the right side of his face and his amber eyes watching you closely.
Silence feel over the room, the words dying in your throat. You didn't know how to explain it, maybe they would think it was all your fault and your father would hate you for getting your mother killed. You knew the laws of the Jedi about attachments but you knew he cared for your mother nonetheless. You didn't want your father to see you like this, weak and broken, you weren't a damsel in distress but you needed him now more than ever.
"It started with the nightmares, mother said it was just my imagination running wild. I saw the forests set ablaze, the animals trapped among the flames, mother calling for me and then everything fading into nothingness, it all felt so real. It was the same dream, every night until my name day. Instead of the normal dream, a wolf came to me, telling me it was time to embrace my destiny and to allow the force to guide me down the path presented to me. It was the same day the separatist invaded our home, searching for something."
They listened to every word you said, even though you didn't go into detail, they were able to understood what had happened, Plo Koon more than the clones.
"It is possible, that a spirit of the force was able to contact you and warn you of the coming danger." Plo Koon hummed.
He stood up, stroking his masked chin in thought as he paced for a moment. To attack your home, to attack you and your mother in a place so far from the war was a concerning matter, one be would have to bring to the council as he sensed something else was at play. Right now, he was just happy that you were alive and thanked the force that you had found him.
"Commander Wolffe, I require a audience with the council. I trust you to keep my daughter safe until further notice."
"Yes General." The clone in question nodded briskly, saluting your father.
You shared a look with your father, knowing the unvoiced question and nodding. You would be fine without him for a few more hours, you had commander Wolffe to look after you so hopefully no harm would befall you.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Within the long hours you spent with Wolffe after your fathers departure, you had managed to become quite close with the other two clones, Boost and Sinker. They had made it their mission to ensure you felt better, every small giggle of smile encouraging them to do better until your mind was rid of the thoughts that invaded your mind. Sometimes, they would get to far with their jokes and almost hurt themselves or potentially you, which meant Wolffe would have to intervene and tell them to reel it in.
Eventually, the two headed off to what they called 79's while Wolffe took you to his office to he could keep an eye on you while he finished some work. Sinker and Boost had invited you to go along with them but Wolffe declined their offer for you as he didn't want you to be overwhelmed with the likely bombardment of questions from other clones after his drunk Vod let loose that you are Master Plo Koon's daughter.
You sat in the chair opposite Wolffe, looking around at his plain, bland office with a look of empathy, you had heard of how badly clones were treated. He was a soldier and yet, he couldn't even get a decent office because of how people looked down on him. You sighed softly, crossing your legs and adjusting yourself in your chair, trying to keep yourself somewhat entertains now Sinker and Boost were no longer around.
"I like your scar."
Wolffe looked at you in shock, he was halfway through one of his datapads. He had suspected there would be some small talk, but he hadn't expected you to make a statement as bold as that, especially about the one thing he himself, felt very subconscious about.
"Thank you." He mumbled in return. "Though, it scares a few people."
"Of course it scares them." You scoffed. "The people who sit back and relax while you fight their war, are scared by your sacrifice to make their world a better place."
Wolffe stared, from the crying girl he had met only hours ago, you had suddenly become another version of his general. He hadn't expected you to be so caring towards him despite the reason you had ended up here. He could still seen the pain in your eyes but he could also see a small spark, hidden deep in the depths of your iris. He had been sceptical of you at first, merely out of wanting to protect his general and his brothers from a possible trap from the separatists, after all, you could be someone in disguise, the Jedi had done something similar themselves with Kenobi.
"I'm sorry."
"Don't be." Wolffe reassured you, gracing you with a rare half smile. "Not many see us the way you and Master Plo do."
"Dad has always seen people for who they are, rather than what they are. Life is the right of all beings after all, we have no control over how we are created so we shouldn't be judged by our places of origin."
"Whats your place of origin?" Wolffe asked before he could stop himself.
"My origins are a planet far from here, where a Mandalorian went to hid from her people, outcasted and branded a witch for her shapeshifting ability. A woman who saved a Kel Dor from a crashed ship and nursed him back to heal and in return, he gifted her a child, so she would no longer be alone. A child with the heart of a wolf and the spirit of a Jedi."
You smiled at one another, continuing to chat into the late ours of the night, talking about anything that came to mind. Eventually, you fell asleep in your chair while Wolffe explained a story about how Boost had eaten a spicy fruit from of of the planets they had visited. Wolffe chuckled softly at your sleeping form, moving to scoop you up in his arms. He carried you bridal style to his general quarters and tucked you into bed, knowing Master Plo Koon will be a few hours more and would likely take the couch. Until Plo Koon arrived, Wolffe took a chair and sat it outside the door, his blaster in hand, ready for any threat that might come for you.

Do you think anakin might be narcissistic or might have narcissistic traits?
No, I don’t. But, please, let’s remember I’m not a mental health professional (I just like Google :P). Here are some Symptoms and behaviors someone Narcissistic personality disorder might display:
Have an exaggerated sense of self-importance: Nope.
“I am convinced, Master Yoda,” said Palpatine. “I know that, as a rule, I leave the strategic planning to you and your Jedi Council and the GAR war cabinet—but in this case I feel compelled to intervene. It was only thanks to young Master Skywalker that Kothlis—and before it Bothawui—did not fall into Separatist hands. But Anakin is only one man—and the Jedi cannot expect him to save the day every day.” Anakin closed his eyes. Please, please, stop talking now, Chancellor. Really. Just stop.[…]“Anakin, Anakin.” He shook his head, ruefully smiling. “I embarrassed you, didn’t I?” He felt heat rush into his face. “No, sir, I—” “Yes, I did,” said Palpatine. “You can say it. I won’t bite.” […] [Anakin] couldn’t speak for a moment. This is the most important man in the galaxy … and he speaks to me as though I’m his own flesh and blood. He has cared about me since I was a boy. “Chancellor …” He had to wait a moment before he could trust his voice. “Please, don’t ever doubt my regard for you. It’s too deep for words.” Eyes moistening, Palpatine smoothed the nap of his rich blue velvet trousers. “I know it makes you uncomfortable when I praise you in public, Anakin. Particularly to Master Yoda or Master Kenobi.” [Karen Miller. Star Wars: Clone Wars Gambit: Stealth]
Have a sense of entitlement and require constant, excessive admiration: Nope. Anakin wanted to be accepted and respected for his achievements, nothing more.
Expect to be recognized as superior even without achievements that warrant it: Nope.
He wasn’t sure why, beyond the fact that he didn’t relish responsibility for—or power over—others. And she talked too much. And she was far too cocky, in that naive, chirpy, why-can’t-we-fix-it way, as if he and the clone troopers had never been in combat before. When it came to battle—well, he’d still take lessons from them, thanks. And she could do the same. [Karen Traviss. The Clone Wars]
• Exaggerate achievements and talents: Nope. Anakin talents and achievements are not exaggerated. It’s a fact that he was the one of the best ever.
“So you don’t believe in it?” “I didn’t say that.” Shaking his head, Obi-Wan stared at the floor. “Qui-Gon believed in it. And I believed in him. And there’s no escaping the fact you’re the most gifted Jedi the Temple has ever seen.” He looked up. “So if Yoda’s reluctant to risk you, Anakin, it’s not on a whim. He has good reason.” [Karen Miller. Star Wars: Clone Wars Gambit: Stealth]
• Be preoccupied with fantasies about success, power, brilliance, beauty or the perfect mate: nope. Anakin’s only recurring fantasy was saving slaves:
When the war was over he’d go back to Tatooine and see. When the war was over he’d buy any child he found enslaved to Watto and find them a home where they might live and love in safety. Belonging to no one but themselves. I should have done it before now. Wasn’t that my other childhood dream? Become a Jedi and free the slaves. Instead I became a Jedi and let myself forget. Let them convince me that it’s not our job to remake the Republic. [Karen Miller. Star Wars: Clone Wars Gambit: Stealth]
I know now that I should have paid more attention to his words. But I was eager to tell him about my dream of becoming a Jedi and freeing the slaves on Tatooine. [Todd Strasser. Anakin Skywalker Journal]
Believe they are superior and can only associate with equally special people: nope
“But—” Gathering his thoughts, disciplining himself, he watched Anakin scoop up one small excited boy, too young to kick the ball, and zoom him overhead like a fighter chasing a vulture droid. The boy nearly sickened himself with laughing. “Greti, are you saying—” […]Anakin’s amusement vanished. “He wasn’t heavy. These younglings are skin and bone. I look at them and—” He clenched his jaw. [Karen Miller. Star Wars: Clone Wars Gambit: Siege]
Monopolize conversations and belittle or look down on people they perceive as inferior: nope.
“I think—” Anakin kicked his heel against the polished marble floor. “I think I hate it when I can’t stop my men from getting hurt. From dying. I think—” “What?” he prompted, when Anakin didn’t continue. “Never mind. It doesn’t matter.” “It matters, Anakin,” he said gently. “What you think matters.” [Karen Miller. Star Wars: Clone Wars Gambit: Stealth]
Take advantage of others to get what they want: nope.
She sat down again. “I understand. This is war. You have to look at the big picture. You can’t afford to see the little people.” Scurrying like rodents. Sacrificed for the greater good. “That’s not true!” Anakin protested. “That’s what the big picture is. Lots and lots and lots of little people. You matter, Bant’ena. The friends you lost on Taratos Four, they matter. We’re fighting this war so no more like them will die.” He was very sweet. Very young. Full of grand ideals and breathtaking, intuitive compassion. She looked at Master Kenobi. Now, there was a pragmatist, a man possessed of a scientist’s soul. [Karen Miller. Star Wars: Clone Wars Gambit: Stealth]
Have an inability or unwillingness to recognize the needs and feelings of others: nope.
“Oh. That’s right.” There was still dried blood on her fingers, and a dull, throbbing pain in her head. “I’m sorry. I’m not normally this stupid. I just—” And then she felt her face crumple and heard herself sob. Her knees buckled and she began to sink toward the floor. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry,” she choked. “Don’t mind me. I’m fine.” He caught her before she tumbled completely. Lifted her without effort and carried her to the sofa. Boneless and unprotesting, she let him. Let her face turn to his roughly shirted, dirty chest and howled her rage and shame against him. Dimly, she felt his hand warm and comforting on her back and heard his soft voice saying, over and over, “It’s all right. It’s all right. You’re safe now. It’s all right.” The crazy thing was that she did feel safe. For the first time since those Separatist blaster bolts seared the air and sand of Niriktavi Bay, since she saw her friends and colleagues slaughtered, she felt safe. [Karen Miller. Be envious of others and believe others envy them: nope
The dining hall was a paneled room with soft, recessed lighting and thick red veda cloth hangings at the windows that muffled sound and cast a rosy glow on the diners. It was just like the exclusive restaurants Anakin had glimpsed on Coruscant — just like the spots the students were used to eating in, he was sure. And, like an exclusive restaurant, seating in the dining hall was subject to an unspoken code. It hadn't taken Anakin long to realize that the best tables were by the windows and he was not welcome there. He didn't know why he felt a coolness from most of the students, but he definitely felt it. When he was looking for a seat at a table, an empty chair would be pushed aside to another table, or a datapad or a pile of durasheet notes would be quickly placed on the seat. It was clear that no one wanted to sit with him. There was a power elite in the school, and everyone else fell in around it. Yet Ferus had been accepted almost immediately, and had his pick of places to sit. Was it because word had gotten out that he belonged to a powerful family on his homeworld? You can travel to the ends of the galaxy and it will be the same — those with power do not like to share. His Master had told him that once, in a voice of weary resignation. But sometimes Obi-Wan seemed to forget that Anakin had been a slave. If anyone knew about power, it was a slave. He knew about the hunger for it, and he knew about the humiliation of getting your nose rubbed in the fact that you didn't have it. He took his bowl of aromatic stew to an empty table and sat. It wasn't that he needed company. Jedi were comfortable being alone. But inside, something burned, something deep and hot that he had hoped had been long forgotten. He took a bite of stew and tasted shame and anger. It was hard to swallow, like a mouthful of sand. [Jude Watson. The School of Fear]
• Behave in an arrogant or haughty manner, coming across as conceited, boastful and pretentious: nope.
Anakin was looking relieved. “Water would be greatly appreciated, thank you. Food, too, but I’ll wait for Obi-Wan to come back before I eat.” She crossed to the small kitchen table, put down the precious holoprojector, then nodded at the commercial-sized conservator her keepers had so kindly given her. “It’s entirely up to you. The water’s in there. Help yourself to as much as you like.” He drank three full bottles, hardly taking a breath. Noticing her surprise, he shrugged. “Sorry. My manners aren’t usually that bad. It’s just—it’s been a long, hard day.” “I can tell,” she said, disposing of the emptied bottles down her makeshift kitchen’s waste chute. “You should sit down. If you don’t mind me saying so, you look tired.” He considered his filthy clothes. “Are you sure? I don’t want to dirty the furniture.” [Karen Miller. Star Wars: Clone Wars Gambit: Stealth]
Insist on having the best of everything — for instance, the best car or office: nope. There’s no evidence of Anakin ever concerning himself over status or material possessions.

Let’s Write Cody’s Redemption Arc
Tumblr media
It’s been, what, two months since Season 7 of the Clone Wars came out? It showed more of the details of Order 66 from the clones’ perspective, showed Rex and some other clones getting their chips removed, how Ahsoka and the defected clones reacted to the Order now that no one was being mind-controlled. However, other Clones that were more than just red-shirt clones, Cody most prominently, were still subject to Order 66. Thus, “Cody stans” (of which I thought I was the only one but I suppose not) were heartbroken all over again when Cody didn’t hesitate to give the order to blast his general off a cliff after having fought alongside him for years prior. So I’ve been thinking about how exactly Cody would react if he were faced with the reality that he was being used by Palpatine both during the Republic as well as the Empire. I decided to explore exactly how that would work if not only for myself, then for the .002% of the Star Wars fandom whomst happen to care about Cody and his relationships. I’ve outlined a point-by-point timeline, detailing exactly how I feel this might play out, starting from the point of defection.
The reason that Cody couldn’t canonly separate from the Empire is in part because it would be pretty gratuitous to have yet another well known clone have his inhibitor chip removed so that he is no longer affected by Order 66. On the other hand, that would give a lot of freedom to write an actual redemption arc from the perspective of a clone that has to actively question his place as a trooper under the Empire and even the Republic to an extent. This way he can exercise agency rather than just having the chip (or lack thereof) do it for him.
Tumblr media
I believe that it would be too easy for Cody to ultimately become a rebel--he’d have to be prematurely killed off before it even got to that point. This would continue with the pattern of Cody and Rex being foils to each other. Where Rex defects immediately and we don’t really get to see the process of his questioning his role during the Clone Wars, Cody’s journey can be shown in greater detail without it having a satisfying or even definitive conclusion. (I’m saying his ending shouldn’t be open-ended, he should just straight up die.) If it were left ambiguous whether or not he developed a rebel’s ideology, he never joined the rebels anyway so it ruins the illusion.
Tumblr media
For the actual meat of the story and the aforementioned process of defection, Cody would need to go from a top rung (relatively) under the Empire to the bottom. It could mirror the fall of the jedi, specifically Obi-Wan’s fall from grace as a well-respected jedi master to an old hermit living in hiding in the middle of a sandy desert. Likewise, Cody was the first and only clone Commander for years of his life and respected by most clones and jedi alike. Then Order 66 comes and he tries to murder one of his closest companions. He then continues to show his unquestioning loyalty to the blatantly evil Empire and is of the highest rank in the new stormtrooper army.
Tumblr media
However, he was not well respected by those under his command the same way that he was during the Republic. He grew to be a bit of a racist once the Empire started enlisting (or kidnapping and grooming) humanoids that were not clones to serve in the stormtrooper army, believing that they were inferior and abusing and overworking them when they didn’t meet his unrealistic expectations. He also lost a lot of his aforementioned friends and didn’t make any new ones due to his abusive behavior. He presumably lived the rest of his life, bitterly serving the Empire, so that’s one way that his quality of life declined. However, he was still pretty high up on the Empire’s social ladder so a real fall from grace would be what actually kicks off his redemption arc.
Tumblr media
Somehow he’d have to first cut ties with the Empire, and the only way that would make any sense would be to be forcibly cut from his high-ranking position so that he is suddenly a nobody out on the streets. But as someone who served as a commanding officer longer than anyone else, that would require Darth Vader to somehow no longer have a use for him or maybe even look upon him with malice and see him as detrimental to his power. It’s possible since those under Cody eventually garnered an extremely negative opinion on him, they might band together to sabotage his position by convincing Vader that he is secretly planning a rebellion of his own. If that were the case, Vader would obviously have him executed, forcing him to escape with nothing but his life, cutting him off from the Empire and his title forever. This would diminish his status and place him on the lowest rung of society under the Empire. It would force him into hiding from any of his former cohorts, superiors, and subordinates. It would turn him into a street rat, resigned to one of the farthest corners of the galaxy where the Empire would never find out of his mortality status.
Tumblr media
Only at this point when Cody has nothing left to lose and is probably rummaging through dumpsters to get by would he finally have the chance to stop and contemplate the Empire’s oppression and conquest alongside his own role in all of it. After being forced into hiding from the Empire, he’s an open target. He was already a war hero under the Republic and only grew more brutal and discriminatory under the Empire, causing his name to be more feared among the common folk should he ever be recognized by one of them, let alone the way that clones as a whole must be feared during the Empire’s reign. If he is exposed and vulnerable, he could have been targeted on the street once people realize he is a clone. His health would definitely be on the decline after being detached from the Empire.
Tumblr media
(x) (x)
At this point it would be good to for once introduce a completely original character in this story arc that is based in nothing other than pure fanservice. They could be another human being, but they don’t have to be. If I had my pick, I’d steal from Alan Dean Foster’s Episode IX pitch and use (what I believe are called) Alesians whomst may or may not have tentacles for limbs. At this time, the focus would have to be taken away from Cody and put into focusing on the world building and characterization of this new character whomst I will dub as “Ynox” because that’s a valid space-sounding name, I’m sure. Could Ynox parallel Cody in some way? Maybe she’s a Zuko type where she comes from a rich family who held some less-than-flattering ideals (they were Separatists) and now she has some defecting of her own on her hero’s journey. For some reason along with the tentacles, I would imagine the Alesians to also possess limbs and abs buff enough to rival those of a wookie, the only difference being the sheer visibility of the contours on each tentacle from their rippling muscles due to their sleek skin and lack of furry overcoats.
Tumblr media
Anyways, Ynox is going to be Cody’s lancer and they’ll traverse the galaxy together for a little while until Cody is inevitably fridged for her benefit. Probably she’ll find him in some alleyway getting beat for being a clone. Seeing this helpless stranger, she fights off these non-force-sensitive goons, using her sheer muscle to disarm them of any weapons. She chases them off and gets Cody to safety and somewhere where he can get medical attention and not receive any further mistreatment. Ynox could be a character with a certain set of morals. She and her family were Separatists in part because they hate the Jedi Order and what they stand for. From their perspective, jedi intervene in societies and situations that are not their business and wield lethal weapons as well as eagerness to use them that are thinly veiled beneath the flowery language of being diplomatic monks. Because of that, Ynox may be wary of any clones by association, although she does not know about Cody’s own legacy. Although she may dislike clones as a knee-jerk reaction, Cody hasn’t given her any reasons not to help him.
Tumblr media
The shared character motivational part is where I draw a blank. I want these two characters to start travelling together, all the while realizing that the things that they used to believe are relics of an old, flawed system. But they need immediate needs to get from Point A to Point B if the overarching plot is to be accomplished. Otherwise it’s just characters going through the motions with no personal investment. There is a want vs. need dichotomy that still needs figuring out because of this. One of the wants they need to want is to find anyone that Cody knew that fought for the Republic. Obviously the first person he will always have on his mind will be Rex, but since Rex has wiped himself off the map as well, they probably both assume each other dead. The only one that still has political power would be Senator Organa. They’d look for him first since he’s the only one that’s not in hiding.
Tumblr media
Something that I’ve neglected to note but happens earlier on in the narrative is that not only does Cody get ungraciously excommunicated from the Empire, but he also gets a concussion in the process. This is what knocks out of him the hatred of all non-clones as troopers as well as his immediate and unexplained desire to murder all jedi. And as Cody continues on his travels to find people connected to his past, a lot of his past memories will come to light as well. Maybe he remembers Kenobi and how close they grew when they fought alongside each other with the 212th Battalion. Does he regret killing him? It doesn’t matter either way because just like all his other old friends, he believes he is now dead... until someone tips him and Ynox off that Kenobi may still be alive! This could spur him on to try and find where he is. On the way they have wacky adventures and Cody’s relationships from the Clone Wars as well as the entirety of Ynox’s backstory (turns out Organa is attuned to the fact that her family were notorious Separatists) are fleshed out. Some of the adventures will matter to the overarching plot with recurring both original and preexisting characters while some will be pure filler. I’m thinking it could have a sort of Orange is the New Black or Handmaid’s Tale setup where a present conflict is being shown with an interwoven flashback subplot, and they are thematically linked somehow.
Tumblr media
They’ll try to hide Cody if they believe that him being recognized as a clone will put them in any sort of danger. They meetup with Organa eventually and try to negotiate with him. Ynox is already on tense terms with him, having been on the other side of the political spectrum. They try to hide Cody from him since he would definitely recognize him for who he is. Maybe Cody gets found out and they are forced to make a daring escape and move on to the next planet for more leads on anyone else’s whereabouts. Their tracking of Kenobi could finally pay off when it leads them to Tatooine. However little do they know they’ve been tracked the entire time by a bounty hunter sent by Vader. They’d been attacked by them multiple times but never realized they were the same person who’d had it out for them to begin with. But none of that matters once they get to Tatooine and let their guard down.
Tumblr media
It may have been easy to find the planet on which Obi-Wan now lives, but it’s much harder to find his exact location when the planet is covered in nothing but sand for miles and all the houses that are spread a ranch’s worth apart from one another look exactly the same. At this point, Cody must make peace with the fact that he may never find the closure or meaning that he’s been looking for and that he can’t be chasing his own tail, trying to find Obi-Wan or anyone else when that endeavor could be entirely fruitless. He decides he’ll stop and make a life for himself separate from both the Republic and the Empire. And just as he decides that the assassin strikes. Cody is killed before he can find Obi-Wan, before Obi-Wan strolls into town just a few hours later and meets Ynox. Neither of them recognize each other and neither of them know each other’s relationship to Cody.
Tumblr media
What a long stream of consciousness! It was far more specific than I initially intended it to be but because some things were more specific, it raised more questions with rather vague or nonexistent answers. Maybe this is less of a redemption arc and more or a complete mess. However I hope it might get anyone who stuck around to read it thinking about what types of character arcs defected clones might go through. Season 7 of the Clone Wars gave us a little more insight to Rex’s character development, but I wanted to see more of a de-radicalization process. Perhaps this whole thing should have been about Rex instead. But people seemed so upset over Cody’s betrayal (even though at this point it’s the only direction that makes sense), so I thought that it couldn’t hurt to fantasize.

Hello there (that was Obi Wan voice). Your gallery is a recent find of mine. Ohohoho, I hope you are willing to talk about relationships of fictional characters 'cause yours have poked my gears! So... What kind of relatioships Peter has with his subordinates/close pals? Type, likes/hates about them and vica versa, stories of them, why they are a team etc, etc. Not just shallow stuff, hit me with the deets! Apologies if I'm being invasive, oblige as much as you feel comfortable (if at all LOL).
Peter isn’t really close with anyone. But anyone he has a past connection to he consideres an associate, and not a employee.
Peter and Anahii: Peter and Anahii met during highschool when she was a freshman and Peter was a sophomore. They had immediately hit it off after seeing Anahii nearly kill a girl in a school fight. At the time Peter had great respect for her. This bitch is crazy! I love her! But as time went on that began to fade, and he became more and more drained and annoyed being around her. While they were still dating, he proposed to her because in the end he’s never going to get with who he actually does, and he needs to get married. She felt the same way, although she actually liked him a lot longer then he did. As adults, married for however long they were, they both constantly fought and hit each other, Anahii using him for his money and Peter using her for sex only. He just saw her as an object, something that gave him title of a husband and made him look better and more capable of people liking him. She was a trophy wife to him. Anahii was miserable in the relationship but at least she was rich, and at least she had protections. Well she thought so. There was still a part of her that wishes he’d just love her.
Peter and Jason: Peter and Jason met either in elementary or middle school, they couldn’t tell you. But they didn’t become friends until late 8th grade- freshman year of highschool. Much like Anahii, Peter instantly hit it off with Jason. They quickly became best friends. They were each other’s ride or die, if someone got into trouble, the other was “shit guess I’m going down too”. Peter hasn’t met anyone in his life that had been willing to put themselves on the line for him. He became obsessed and infatuated with Jason. He was everything he could ever want. It was at this point Peter realized he was bi, but he didn’t even care at this point. He could defend himself, people ain’t got shit on him. Both he and Jason did football together, Jason being quarterback and Perer wide receiver. Peter got kicked off the team after foul play and was took it as he was shit at playing, but Jason was just as good as he was! How fucking dare they?! He became somewhat jealous of Jason, that he could keep his cool and get people to bow for him easily. So he observed, and by the next school year he had adopted the same charm as Jason. As adults they’re still each other’s ride or dies, Peter being tired and finally trying to make moves on Jason, and one thing led to another and now they’re dating, and are now an affair. The relationship wasn’t healthy, Peter being extremely possessive, but it’s better then what he and Anahii had. He truly loved him and was happy. Couldn’t wait to raise his son with this man.
Peter and Cooper: the only type of past connections they could of had was they went to the same highschool, but even then Peter had already graduated by the time Cooper got in. During a failed encounter with some potential buyers of weapons, Cooper had found Peter half dead on the ground. His face was sliced open, blood pooling out of his cheek and eye, and with quick thinking Cooper picked him up and raced him out of the building, defending the both of them, throwing him into the back of the military truck they had, and zipped off. At the time he didn’t even know that was his boss, he just saw someone who most likely worked with him half dead. Peter, grateful, ended up giving Cooper multiple promotions, healthcare benefits, loads of loans and money, and benefits for his family. It was also the last time Peter ever showed up to a deal or a confrontation. Cooper became his main guy to send if Jason was out.
Peter and Plethora: after the incident with Cooper, he began to look more into his family. An odd one at that. While Cooper was married to Cassandra, it appeared they had a shared pseudo husband as well. And this guy can shoot! He has never seen a man able to snipe 20 men all in one shot, not even Jason. He called him down to his office one day and promoted him, giving him the opportunity to assassinate higher ups, like government officials. While a great idea at the time, this led to Peters greatest mistake and his downfall.
Peter and Cassandra: Like Cooper and Plethora, she had gone to his old highschool. However also unlike her husbands, she didn’t seem to have a job. Looking more into her profiling he saw that she was great with numbers, stocks, and even hacking. So he called her down, proposed her a job, to which she took instantly, and had monitored her progress over time. Her working in the stock market had opened up a new branch to the organization, while they were already dealing with stocks he had never seen anyone change numbers so quickly and so drastically, and when she stroad into his office one day with files on their threats, background information no one knew, he knew he had made the right choice.
Peter and Michelle: highschool flings. He had promised her money, promised her everything she could ever want, healthcare, the best education at the greatest university, anything she could have ever wanted. She was desperate. And now she’s trapped. He sees her as the perfect soldier. So easily manipulated and now stone cold, yet still easily controlled. He has no further opinion on her, she means little to him, but she hates him with a passion. He lied to her, and now she’s stuck doing something so horrific. She’s betraying everyone she knows, the people she grew up around. And she’s going to get him back.
Peter and Gwen: Gwen was... an experiment. Bother her and her sister Aj. They wanted to see how manipulated young kids from the lowest of income families could be, if they could take them from their families, cover up the crime scene or label them as runaways or the media’s favorite excuse, a suicide, and turn them into their workers, like their soldiers. The experiment was proven to be a semi success, it turns out the younger they are the harder it is. The older they are the easier, because they have a concept of morality, and are forced to comply in fears of dying. Gwen was an acception however, her being 3 when kidnapped. She shows extreme potential and loyalty. She’s ruthless, while also charming and showing a youthful aura. Peter had felt fond over her, while seeing her as mainly a weapon, he enjoyed aiding in her teaching and saw her almost as a daughter. She was eager to comply in what he wanted, although began to question everything as time went on. Began to rebel. What ever happened to her mom and dad? Why is Aj so angry at the association all the time? ...why am I here?
Peter and Aj: constant gaslighting. Peter plays himself as the good guy and that Aj is just the angry teenage girl. Aj knows what they did, at least she has an idea. She doesn’t like being a soldier and she doesn’t like being forced to kill people. She hates her life, she hates Peter, and she just wants her sister to live normally. But Aj doesn’t even know what normal is. At least she has food, constant shelter, access to the best technology... this is normal. This is normal.
Peter and Ivan: were at a constant truce until Peter had sent Plethora to assassinate someone very important to Ivan, later on revealed to be his wife. Then their relationship turned into a dangerous rivalry where everything would soon fall apart.

The Rise of Skywalker could’ve been an entirely new vision of the Force, instead we got a meaningless rehash of the OT
Here’s my perspective on The Rise of Skywalker, the sequel trilogy and what it could’ve been. Please like and share if you’ve enjoyed this piece or found it interesting :)
I think The Rise of Skywalker was so disappointing to me because is subverted the best and strongest parts of the previous two films and ultimately made it so that this trilogy added almost nothing to the larger saga beyond being an adventure with new characters. I left this movie asking what was the point? Why were you telling me this story and what is the lesson here? Is it that people can be redeemed? We already know this from the original trilogy so why tell it again? For all its flaws, the prequel trilogy also had a clear lesson of the dangers of giving into temptation and of becoming obsessed with power. I find myself struggling to find what this trilogy contributed. There was so much potential in the first two films and this final film reneged on all of that and took zero risks. It sought to please everyone and became a blah movie as a result.
The first two films in this trilogy were all about challenging us to think about what Star Wars is at its core and what it can be. We lift off the mask of a stormtrooper in The Force Awakens and see that stormtroopers are not faceless evil machines, but actually struggle with right and wrong, light and dark.
In The Last Jedi we learn that a young girl from nowhere who had nobodies for parents is incredibly powerful in the force. Rey’s parentage is then walked back, but at this moment in TLJ we believed it to be true. The use of the force by the boy in the stables on Canto Bight only strengthens the argument that you do not need to be of noble lineage to use the force. We get a new look at the economy of the galaxy and incredibly wealthy weapons dealers who sell to both sides, alongside poverty and oppression. We see that within the Resistance leadership there is conflict between Poe and Vice Admiral Holdo. In the real world, rebellions don’t hum along smoothly with no in-fighting, and acknowledging this conflict shows a real maturity of TLJ and Star Wars itself.
Two key themes of TLJ is that the old ways will be left behind and that there is a middle path between dark and light. We see this in Rey and Kylo’s special force connection which seems to exist beyond the duality of Jedi and Sith. It’s neither light nor dark but a way for them to understand and even sympathize with one another, even as they remain on opposite sides of the force and war. Shortly after killing Snoke Kylo tells Rey:
The Empire, your parents, the Resistance, the Sith, the Jedi... let the past die. Kill it, if you have to. That's the only way to become what you are meant to be.
Kylo doesn’t view himself as a Sith or Jedi and is suggesting that Rey doesn’t have to either. There is perhaps more potential in the force than viewing it only in the Sith and Jedi duality. He is suggesting that Rey is meant to find that other path, to combine dark and light without the label of Jedi or Sith. This feels like a moment where we are moving beyond the past of the Empire, the importance of parentage and the Sith vs. Jedi conflict, yet TRoS brings all of these themes back in a regression to the old ways. It’s obsessed with bloodlines and with light vs. dark duality when it could’ve presented a new vision of the force that is a true balance, a true yin and yang, rather than just another win for the old order of the Jedi.
While a rejection of the Sith is obvious, I think a rejection of the Jedi is also in order at the conclusion of the saga. Over the course of nine films, the Jedi have made countless mistakes in their restrictions and lies, yet paid no price. In the prequels, the Jedi were overly restrictive about marriage. When Anakin struggled with possessive visions of Padme’s death he couldn’t come to his Jedi mentors for guidance so he instead found a mentor in Palpatine. A more permissive policy could’ve perhaps prevented Anakin’s turn to the Sith. In Ben Solo’s case he wakes up in the middle of the night to see his uncle lauding over his bed, about to kill him. He is a teenage boy and his Jedi uncle is about to kill him for having too much darkness within him. Honestly, have you met teenage boys Luke?
The Jedi also have a terrible habit of lying to their padawans in order to protect them. Obi-Wan does not tell Luke about his parentage because he fears the pull of the Darkside will be even stronger for Luke if he knows who his true father is. Luke lies to Rey about her parentage for the exact same reason, which is even more perplexing considering that Luke is proof that your parentage does not determine how you use the force. In the case of Anakin and Ben, they both feel they have been lied to because their masters do not teach them about the Darkside but instead label it as impermissible, evil and bad, without showing them why.
And Anakin and Ben are right. The Darkside is not evil. Anger, aggression, fear, and hatred are not inherently bad. What matters is how we use them. We see many of the heroes of Star Wars be afraid, aggressive and even at times hate one another. Any rebel fighter worth her salt should fear the Empire and be aggressive when fighting it. We could say Leia has a hatred for Darth Vader and even initially for Lando, but this does not make her a bad person. It is the Sith that uses their Darkside emotions of fear, anger, and hatred for galactic domination and oppression. But perhaps we don’t have to see the Darkside as solely evil. The Sith have used the Darkside in a horrible way, and while the Jedi strive to do good, they too have made harmful mistakes in how they use the light side of the force. Could there be a third school of the force that acknowledges the power of the Darkside and the darkness that lives within all of us, but instead uses that darkness for good? This is a question I would’ve liked TRoS to answer and I think TLJ teed it up to be answered in the final film. Even the name The Last Jedi suggests that there were no longer be another Jedi, but there will be something else.
Instead of another redemption arc for Kylo Ren, TRoS could’ve chosen to embrace his contradictory nature and conflict. The fact that Kylo Ren still feels a bond and love for Leia and Rey shouldn’t mean that he is destined to be redeemed and excused for his crimes. Instead, it shows that he is merely human and even “evil” individuals can feel love and kindness while committing atrocities. Many Nazis had families who they loved dearly. This does not make them good people or prove they are worthy of redemption, it’s merely one area of light in their lives that are otherwise overly balanced toward darkness.
TRoS had the potential to show us this third path that is neither Sith nor Jedi, but something that is honest about the contradictory nature in every human being. It had the potential to reveal that the darkside isn't any more evil  than winter or nighttime is evil. Dark is necessary for light, winter necessary for summer, night necessary for morning. It is the rigidity of the Jedi and the obsession for power and domination of the Sith that has allowed evil to flourish for so long. An honest assessment of the Jedi’s record and a paving of a new path forward in the force would’ve made TRoS a spectacular, beautiful and moving ending to the Saga.
We did not get that ending but perhaps this saga is the true reflection of the force. Star Wars isn’t perfect, neither good nor bad but somewhere in the middle. It’s a work made by humans and its beauty is in its reflection of ourselves, our lives, hopes, and fears. Fans love it and hate it and half the fun is talking about it. The people who make, watch, read and love Star Wars aren’t Jedis or Sith but somewhere in the middle. In the end, it’s much bigger than whatever this trilogy turned out to be.

Obikin: 10, 13, 14 :)
(from this list)
10. What is a small thing that one another does to make their partner happy?
Anakin cooks for Obi-Wan. He used to help his mother when he could, back on Tatooine, and he knows how to make food taste good with practically nothing. It is also a Tatooine thing to show love and appreciation through food - when something is scarce, it becomes a precious gift. Initially Obi-Wan hadn’t understood just how meaningful this was, coming from a Core world where food was always plentiful. He can make an amazing stew, just barely spicy, with meat so soft it melts in your mouth and tons of veggies. It became a favourite of Obi-Wan’s, and it’s now his go-to comfort food. Anakin’s ability is also useful on difficult missions if they ever run out of rations and I will refrain from making jokes about eating bugs
Obi-Wan subtly turns up the heat in their shared quarters, because he knows Anakin is always cold but doesn’t want to complain. When they sleep together, Anakin grabs him like a koala and seems to leech warmth throughout the night, and Obi-Wan never complains even when it’s uncomfortable. He always has a spare cover, or a throw casually draped on his sofa so that Anakin can use it without having to ask.
13. Who likes to give the other hugs from behind followed by a kiss?
Uuuh, I go back and forth on this one because I have two irreconcilable headcanons: one is Obi-Wan being physically affectionate with ease, while Anakin takes more time to warm up and is less likely to initiate contact (due to, respectively, growing up in the creche with many other younglings and just Jedi being very family-like with each other, and for Anakin due to childhood trauma and a pretty understandable instinct to draw back) - but the other one is Anakin finally realising he is allowed to touch once they get together, and just going for it, while Obi-Wan tends to be more reserved.
14. Who would make a playlist for the other person? What would be featured on the playlist?
Well, you see, it starts as a joke. They have a disagreement on the Code and Obi-Wan, tired of repeating the same things, just loads a holo of Yoda into Anakin’s space-spotify or what have you. It’s so silly that they stop fighting and agree that maybe, juuuust maybe, the Code could stand some updates. But afterwards Obi-Wan realises that Anakin is always bringing him small gifts. Again, their difference in upbringing comes up starkly. Obi-Wan never much cared about possessions, and rarely thinks of gifts. But Anakin clearly does. He gives him stuff without the expectations of receiving anything in return, just for the pleasure of giving. Sill, Obi-Wan wants to find a way to thank him properly. So he starts collecting bits of interesting things he hears, some of it music, some of it holonet programs about the Republic’s greatest heroes, Skywalker and Kenobi (they always make them laugh, and Obi-Wan blushes a truly impressive shade of pink whenever some announcer comments on how skilled and handsome and amazing they are, which in turn makes Anakin laugh). Some of it is space-EDM and weird techno, and some incredibly weird Mon Cal symphonic music that Anakin pretends to hate but always falls asleep to.

So I love your keeping up with the Skywalker/Kenobis au😍!!! It's adorable and it makes me so happy to read aaaand I wanted to ask what you think Satine's reaction is to Obi Wan basically getting himself a husband two kids and a dog like 2 months after she's left him? Like if they randomly ran into each other and Obi Wan is with his whole family and is carrying Leia, while holding Luke's hand and Luke is holding the dogs leash, while Anakin is I dunno monologing about something as he usually does
hi!!!! thank you so much for the prompt i love it <3 I thought a really long time about this prompt because I kind of knew what I wanted to do but I also didn't want to throw satine's character under the bus to accomplish it because i think from what Obi-Wan's told us about his marriage she's completely justified to want a divorce, so she's not necessarily a jealous ex in this snippet. But she's sort of angry, which i feel is fair!! i also (for reasons we will hopefully see tomorrow) changed your 'two months' to '3 years', so this happens 2 years after the Skywalkers move in, which is one yearish after the divorce! mostly because Something Else happens about 2 years after the Skywalkers move in and I have an ask cooling in my inbox asking about That that i want to answer tomorrow and these two felt like they fit together
(big sigh)(2.5k)(this is Obi-Wan's POV so its a bit pretentious and also a bit sad)
It’s a very strange thing, what the body remembers but the mind forgets.
“Obi-Wan?” A tentative voice asks from his left, and he knows that voice intimately. That voice had been at one time the most beautiful sound in the entire world. That voice had been what he heard before going to sleep, what he waited on tenterhooks to hear upon waking. He’d heard that voice cry, scream, laugh, gasp, moan--he knows that voice, and for a second his body responds the way it always has to that voice.
Butterflies erupt in his stomach and he turns to look at Satine for the first time in almost three years.
“Satine,” he says and clears his throat and tries again. “Hello there.”
She smiles delicately, as if she’s unsure of her welcome. Obi-Wan’s never seen Satine shy, but he supposes he’s never seen how she acts around her ex-husband.
He surreptitiously glances to where Anakin and the twins are standing in line at an ice cream truck. It had been a nice day, so they had bundled the kids and the dog into Anakin’s car and gone to the city park with loose ideas about kite flying. Perhaps a picnic.
Perhaps twenty yards from the parking lot, Leia had spotted an ice cream truck from her perch on Obi-Wan’s shoulders, and the twins had successfully convinced Anakin to make a quick pit stop on their way up the park’s central hill. It had been a very easy sell. The sweet tooth is most definitely inherited, and nothing Obi-Wan really shares, so he had taken Chewie and gone to sit on a near park bench, graciously pretending not to hear Anakin tell his children to let the old man rest.
That had only been five minutes ago.
“Would you like to sit?” Obi-Wan asks politely, gesturing to the part of the bench he’s not taking up.
“If you have the time,” Satine responds just as politely. Obi-Wan wonders if this sort of false veneer of courteousness is putting her teeth on edge as much as his.
Do you remember how you left? Would you like me to recall the amount of things thrown by you, or would you like to do the honors? He imagines saying.
Only if you would be so gracious as to recite the long list of things you called me, he can imagine Satine responding.
That sort of conversation would be better than this. More honest. It’s a strange hurt, to realize you’re lying to the person you used to think you’d always be truthful to.
“Oh,” Satine says when Chewie immediately starts sniffing at the hem of her dress. “Is this...your dog?”
Obi-Wan fights the urge to wince. He had. Well. He had been quite against getting a dog when they’d been married. Or a cat. Or anything, really. He had vehemently protested the idea of a pet.
Of another living thing in their house.
“Ah,” he says. “Yes. His name is Chewie.”
Satine pets him with just the right amount of pressure to have Chewie tilting his head eagerly for more. “Chewie?” she asks incredulously. “I always figured we would have to name any dog or--child after some sort of literary figure.”
Obi-Wan pretends he doesn’t notice her hesitation. He has to pretend he doesn’t notice her hesitation. “I originally wanted to name him Dante,” he admits instead. “Leia compromised down to Danny, but I just couldn’t do that to the poor dead man.”
“Oh,” Satine says and then she’s quiet. Obi-Wan can just imagine the sort of things running through her head. He would deserve all the mean-spirited barbs she could throw at him now. He reminds himself that he understands that.
I hadn’t thought you knew how to do that, he imagines her saying. Compromising, I mean.
Or, does the dog hair everywhere drive you as crazy as you used to say it would?
Or, perhaps worst of all, how much has your library of dead mean kept you comfort these last three years?
Instead she gently strokes the dog’s head and refuses to make eye contact with Obi-Wan.
“You look well,” he says, breaking the silence first. He thinks she’s probably put in enough work in speaking first for a lifetime.
“Thank you,” Satine responds, tucking a piece of her ash blonde hair behind her ear. Obi-Wan catches a glint of a ring on her finger from the action. He doesn’t know if it was purposeful or not, doesn’t blame her either way. It’s been three years. Their lives are their own now. There’s always going to be those years where they...converged, and Obi-Wan isn’t sure he regrets them. He might never regret them, no matter what he thought shortly after the papers were mailed in.
After all, he’d never have met the Skywalkers if it wasn’t for the divorce.
“You as well,” Satine says, crossing her ankles. It’s her version of a fidget, Obi-Wan thinks fondly, and then wonders if he’ll ever forget that sort of information.
He smiles. “Yes, I’m...well.” He coughs and glances over to the ice cream truck. Leia waves at him from where she’s curled into Anakin’s chest, very near the front of the line. Anakin and Luke are looking at Obi-Wan with almost the same expression of pinched worry. Anakin most probably because he knows who Satine is. Luke because the boy has gotten quite possessive of Obi-Wan’s attention in the last few months.
Obi-Wan smiles slightly to let them both know that he’s fine. “I’m very well,” he tells Satine, turning back to her.
“I’m very glad to hear that,” she says, and it sounds like the most honest thing she’s said this entire time.
“Thank you,” he responds, and that’s the most honest thing he’s said today too. He knows she won’t understand exactly what he means, but it feels nice to say it anyway. Thank you for the years we were happy. Thank you for leaving before we could really start hating each other. Thank you for the divorce. Thank you for the Skywalkers.
There’s very loud footsteps on the pavement and then suddenly a blond blur is clinging to Obi-Wan’s knee.
“Obi,” Luke says very reproachfully.
Obi-Wan automatically fixes the boy’s fringe. “Yes, little one?” he asks, very, very aware of the way Satine’s posture has shifted from almost relaxed to preparing for battle.
“Daddy wants to know if you want anything. He says they have those pop--pop--cycles that you like.”
Obi-Wan switches his attention away from Luke so that he can raise a very scathing eyebrow at Anakin, who shrugs as if butter wouldn’t melt in his mouth. He had most certainly told Anakin that he was fine and that he didn’t want to spoil his lunch. Sending Luke over had not been a friendly check-in. It had been an invasion.
“I’m fine,” Obi-Wan tells Anakin’s son. “I don’t want to spoil my lunch.”
These words seem just as foreign to Luke as they did to his father, because he squints up at Obi-Wan before shrugging and clambering up into Obi-Wan’s lap.
“Who is she, Obi?” he asks, not quietly at all.
Obi-Wan sighs. And then resists the urge to sigh harder when he catches sight of Satine’s pinched face.
A thousand conversations rush back to him.
“My career has to come first, Satine.”
“Don’t call me that.”
“A child? At my age?”
“It’s Obi-Wan, not Obi.”
“I’m not sure I’ll ever be ready, dear. Our lives would change. Fundamentally. We’d have to compromise, we’d have to figure out a way to be there for them whenever they needed it. I know people manage. But would we?”
“Don’t--”
“I’m sorry, darling. I don’t want children.”
“Don’t call me Obi.”
He understands perfectly why Satine looks as if someone has just fed her half a lemon. He does.
She’s run into her ex-husband at the park and settled in to have a civil conversation with the man, only to see that he owns a dog (which he had been against when they were together), has a child (Luke isn’t his, of course, but he can understand the confusion), and lets that child call him one of his most hated nicknames.
“Obi?” she asks, which is probably starting out small, something he is very grateful for.
“Who are you?” Luke asks more forcefully, gripping onto Obi-Wan’s shirt with his little hands. Of all the times for the boy to decide to speak up to strangers--
“I’m Satine,” Satine answers graciously. And then, “Who are you?”
“Luke,” the boy says, far less graciously. “Obi lives with us.”
“Us?” Satine asks, mostly to Obi-Wan. “You mentioned a...Leia earlier?”
“My sister,” Luke interrupts before Obi-Wan can, perhaps, explain the situation. “We’re twins.”
“Twins!” Satine gasps in a way that’s most definitely pointed and directed at Obi-Wan. “Obi, I hadn’t known you had twins!”
“I…” Obi-Wan starts to say that he doesn’t, but the twins have started shooting him very hurt looks every time he corrects strangers on the fact that the twins aren’t actually his. He’s mostly stopped correcting people now because Luke and Leia’s betrayed expressions are really, quite frankly, works of art.
“Obi-Wan!” a voice interrupts him to his right. It’s a familiar voice, one that he’s heard as he falls asleep, one he’s heard first thing in the morning, one he’s heard cry and yell and gasp and laugh, one he thinks to himself might just be one of the most beautiful sounds in the entire world.
Without his permission or even his consent, butterflies erupt in his stomach and he turns from Satine’s rigid expression to Anakin’s slightly manic grin.
“Anakin,” he says, standing immediately with Luke cradled in his arms.
“We got you the red popsicle because Luke never came back,” Anakin says, thrusting the icy treat forward as Leia tries to clamber on the bench to hand Luke his own chocolate-covered cone.
“Thank you,” Obi-Wan says, all thoughts about his appetite for lunch pushed out of his mind by the size of Anakin’s smile. “That’s very sweet of you.”
Anakin ducks his head and rubs at the back of his neck, his face turning red like Obi-Wan’s popsicle. Obi-Wan thinks he’s never been this hopelessly endeared in his entire life.
“I should be going,” Satine says suddenly, standing up. Obi-Wan is a bit ashamed to realize he has forgotten her in the wake of the arrival of the Skywalkers.
But he knows he should not leave like this. They deserve more than this stilted sort of interrupted conversation.
Gently, he sets Luke on the ground despite the boy’s protests and chases after his ex-wife.
“Satine, wait,” he pants as he catches up with her.
“What, Obi-Wan?” she asks, voice strained and eyes a bit wet. “What else do you want me to see? What else is there left? I get it, alright. I get it. It was never you--it wasn’t--it wasn’t that you didn’t want pets or kids or--or all of it. You just didn’t want them with me. It was me. All along.”
She turns away, wiping frantically at her eyes. Obi-Wan isn’t sure if he’s ever felt worse.
“No,” he insists, reaching out to touch her forearm, painfully aware of how public they are right now. “No, you’ve got it wrong. It’s not...it was never you. It’s just…”
He pauses and tries to find the words to describe the past three years of his life. That first year of despair and hopelessness and isolation. And then the way Anakin and his children had crept into his life like a summer sunrise in the dead of winter, unexpectedly and then slowly and then all at once.
Obi-Wan shrugs helplessly, at a loss for words. There’s no way to describe something like that to someone who hasn’t experienced it. “It’s just…them.”
Satine takes a few moments to breathe before she turns to face him. She’s smiling and it looks mostly like a grimace, but he’ll accept it as more than he deserves.
“Oh Obi-Wan,” she says, laying a hand over the hand he has on his arm. “You always had so many rules.”
Obi-Wan fights the urge to bristle, reminding himself that Satine has the right to say anything she wants to him today and the amount of hurts they’ve dealt each other still probably wouldn’t be even.
It takes him completely by surprise then when she hugs him. He hugs her back automatically, blinking stupidly further into the park.
“I’m glad you’ve found your exceptions,” she whispers to him as she pulls back with a sad smile.
“Satine,” he says, but he doesn’t know where he’s going with that and falls silent. She shakes her head and rolls her eyes, leaning in to press a featherlight kiss to his bearded cheek.
“Glad to know I can still make you speechless,” she tells him wryly.
“Always,” he promises her, and she laughs. Obi-Wan is suddenly struck with a sort of gut-wrenching realization that she used to be his best friend as well as his wife. He had lost both in one fell swoop.
“I think I just put you in a world of trouble,” she smirks, tilting her head back down the path. “Your partner doesn’t look very happy.”
“He’s not my--” Obi-Wan starts to say and then decides fuck it. He shrugs. “It was nice to see you again, Satine. I hope. I. I really am glad that you’re doing well.”
Satine smiles and squeezes his hand once before letting go. “You too, Obi-Wan. You too.”
When he gets back to his family, Anakin is staring intensely down at his shoes, while Luke and Leia are glaring just as intensely up at Obi-Wan.
“Who was that?” Leia demands immediately.
“Satine,” Luke relays to her, as if the word means one hundred terrible and tragic things.
“An old friend,” Obi-Wan corrects. “We haven’t seen each other in a while. I just...I just wanted to say goodbye.”
“Did you?” Anakin asks, strangely intent as he looks down at Obi-Wan’s face.
“I did,” Obi-Wan tells him. It sounds like a promise. Yes, seeing Satine had been a peculiar twist of fate, but it had felt like a goodbye. To her. To the last vestiges of their marriage. To the man he had been when he had been in love with her.
The realization feels like it should hurt, but it doesn’t. Instead of ruminating on it though, he holds his hand out to Luke’s sticky fingers. “Shall we?” he asks, as Anakin falls into place on his other side, Leia held firmly in his arms. “It’s a fairly large hill, are you sure you’re up for it?”
“Yes!” Luke insists enthusiastically, all thoughts of the blonde woman his Obi had been talking to immediately forgotten.
“Perhaps by the time we get to the top, we’ll be prepared for lunch,” Obi-Wan tells Anakin wryly. The other man laughs, but his eyebrows stay pinched. Obi-Wan has the strangest desire to kiss them smooth, to lean over and kiss Anakin’s face until he’s blushing and laughing and light as he knows he can be.
But it’s very obviously not the time and place. Such a step forward needs both a proper time and place. After all, you may have multiple loves of your lives, but you only ever kiss each of them for the first time once. And Obi-Wan is pretty sure he’s only got the two; he’s not looking to mess this one up.

Omg there's so much I want to talk about in TLJ that I don't even know where to start!
And my ships 😏 hehe I see what the authors are doing.
Red herrings everywhere.
Spoilers ahead.
These are random disjointed fangirlish thoughts on the movie that I have to spill out before I can become coherent again. Bare with me.
THE HUMOUR! So good and yet so well nuanced that it complemented the seriousness of the  movie very well.
GENERAL HUGS and SALT GUY need to be memes. I mean, c’mon guys, you know I’m right.
LEIA USING THE FORCE TO SAVE HERSELF, IN THE VACUUM OF SPACE! My gods, she always had so much potential and it’s good to see some of it finally being expressed. They built Leia up so well in this movie, so much development, I love it but now I’m so afraid of what they’ll do for ep IX without Carrie...
Billie Lourd having way more protagonism! The legacy continues.
WOMEN EVERYWHERE!  As many as the men and in equal posts! Thank you, gods! Also, POC everywhere! YES, THANK YOU!
Rose is freaking adorable and well written, the viewers form an instant connection with her through her sister and she has that innocent and wonder that we haven’t had since New Hope’s Luke.
Though Rose describing Canto Bight made me laugh because it was a perfect echo of Obi-Wan describing Mos Isley... In fact when she described it as an ugly horrifying place filled with the most despicable people, all I could think was ‘girl, you’ve clearly never been to Mos Isley’. Though in the end Canto Bight is more civilized but morally worse than Mos Isley so she’s not wrong.
Still wondering was the message Rey asked Chewie to give Finn...
Shipping wise... They're baiting us with Finn x Rose AND Finn x Poe AND Finn x Rey all at once. Interesting to see the guy being the center of a love tangle for a change. Anyway, they are clearly letting the audience chose how to interpret each relationship.
Now, I’m trying to analyze this without shipper goggles (yet) so...
Poe's body language is all over Finn who seems clueless, Poe just acts so differently around Finn compared to others, hell, he even acts possessive of Finn (the way he examines all of ‘naked and leaking’ Finn, and, his face when he meets Rose and slightly places himself between her and Finn- “Who’s this?”).
Rose kisses Finn but he doesn't kiss back, it's not even shock he just looks confused and more concerned with saving her. In sum- Rose's body language is all over Finn, even more explicitly than Poe (because heteronormativity and all) but once again Finn looks absolutely clueless of what others feel towards him.
The only times Finn's body language and attitude go beyond more than friendship and admiration are when it's related to Rey... Though then she’s the one whose body language only denotes platonic feelings.
I see what's happening- the authors are showing all these options as red herrings under our noses, which often happens in the middle of trilogies, all so the fans won't be able to guess what's coming. Hell, I could almost feel an asexual vibe from Finn and the Rose x Finn kiss echoes the red herring Leia x Luke kiss in ep V so much...
Personally I still ship stormpilot (though not averse to Rose and Poe sharing Finn but that will never happen and still prefer stormpilot), even though I openly admit that it's clear they wanted to show obvious Finn x Rey chemistry and some Finn x Rose (albeit more one-sided).
Moving on...
ALL THE FUCKING REYLO! My poor shipper heart was exploding!
Topless Kylo! Flustered “please-cover-up-that-distracting-bod” Rey! LMAO!
I'm so happy that reylo is a cannon thing now. Sure, it's in a tragic ship sort of way instead of openly romantic, but damn, that back to back battle against the praetorian guard... AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Scarred Kylo!
Kylo hesitating and refusing to shoot, most likely because Leia was on board the ship...
Rey crying when she touches Kylo and connects to his emotions.
Official confirmation that Snoke was already manipulating Ben when he was Luke’s apprentice (like what was stated in the novelization of TFA).
Ben turning to the dark because he felt betrayed by Luke (echoing Anakin and the Jedi Council).
Kylo constantly conflicted and expressing it through anger and obvious emotional vulnerability, even (or even more so) as he becomes “the big baddy”.
Kylo BEGGING to have Rey on his side. And vice-versa.
Kylo killing Snoke, not for power but for Rey, the power was just his ambition and greed bubbling up as Rey denies him.
Pretty sure Kylo will get a redemption arc- I know it doesn't seem like it but the clues are there and I'm a good 90% sure of this, otherwise we'd just have a copy of Anakin's conflict all over again albeit Kylo being more ambiguous and also less determined in about his intentions. Now, if this redemption ends well or not, with love or without it, with grey jedi or otherwise, that is where the mystery lies.
Ok, I admit, Reylo is my otp but objectively in canon I don't know how the ship will end, at this point it can go either way; but imho Kylo will be redeemed somehow. As a writer and someone very much used to deconstructing plots, I can tell that there are enough clues for this, not just in this movie but in the big picture of the whole SW movieverse.
One thing is for sure- the old dichotomy of jedi and sith as we know it is dead. Luke, Kylo and Yoda give us enough confirmation of this (and admittedly the whole black-white/good-evil extremes thing was getting SO old).
Personally I'm praying with all my might that we get Grey Jedi at last! And that would make both Rey and Kylo’s predictions true- she strays from the light and him from the dark and they meet in a middle term... It would make sense and seems to have been foreshadowed but unfortunately it’s not one of those things I can say I’m certain off.
Let’s also have in account that the title of the movie is “The Last Jedi” but intended as plural (even here the subtitle was plural) so when Luke says “I will not be the last jedi”, I don’t think he means Rey exclusively.
Kylo was not made for leadership and rule either so I do wonder who will take the reigns of this crumbled government when it’s all said and done.
What else...
POE BEING A HOT-HEADED DAREDEVIL! He had such an aura of competence and poise in TFA but in TLJ we saw so much development, he was so humanized and flawed (but in the best way).
Phasma’s death was... as we say in Portugal “soube-me a pouco”, aka it felt lacking. Don’t get me wrong, it was epic, but they made such a huge deal of her in PR and marketing (especially in TFA) that it feels like she had a bigger role that got edited out in post-production. The fight with Finn was perfect and excellent for his growth but it felt like we needed more on Phasma to make it more meaningful.
HOLDO’S KAMIKAZE MOVE! Goddamn, I had mixed feelings about her through the whole movie but, although I usually dislike the kamikaze martyr trope, at that moment I just adored her. I feel like we could have gotten a bit more personal with her but either way it was tragically perfect.
Luke’s death felt unnecessary. Again, don’t get me wrong- I was afraid I’d hate it but it was a good death, an appropriate and meaningful one; however, it felt anti-climatic and unnecessary in the progression and pacing of the story itself. Perhaps if framed differently... Either way, the only way the manner of his death can be justified to me is if he has an important role (big or small, whatever, but meaningful) as a Force Ghost in ep IX.
Kinda wish we'd have a Luke-Anaking force ghost reunion; the two of them guiding Leia and Rey and even Kylo... But that's just wishful thinking.
The sweet moment between Leia and Luke broke me, I wanted to cry. They deserved so much more time together, hell, WE deserved to see so much more interaction between them as close siblings.
The almost imperceptive glance we get of the Jedi books safely stored in the Falcon! Begging the questions- who and why?
I wanted more Chewie and definitely more Maz! I really, really, REALLY want more Maz as a sassier modern version of Yoda.
Speaking of- loved the Yoda cameo- Mr ‘if you don’t have the balls then I’ll do for you’.
I get a feeling we’ll be seeing DJ again... But, honestly, so many new characters and they COULDN’T BRING BACK LANDO FUCKING CALRISSIAN?!
Please tell me Rey will build her own lightsaber now! And make it a lightsaber pike, it fits her much better than than the Skywalker saber.
Liked Rey’s parentage reveal, honestly so much better than having her conveniently be the heir of a pre-existing character. Also gives her tragic past much more intensity.
Porgs were cute but screw them, the Vulptex’s were soooooo much better.
I’m conflicted about Snoke’s death... It was brilliant but at the same time it wasn’t as impactful as it could be if his role had been more pronounced in TFA. Still, very good though.
Best of all- HUX BEING TOSSED AROUND LIKE A DOLL. Deflates his ego beautifully. And when Kylo gives the “shoot with all you got” order when Luke pops up and Hux repeats the order word by word but louder to the troops and Kylo just gives him that ‘bitch, I just said that’ face... Priceless.
I loved BB-8 before but now I ADORE HIM! In Poe’s ship trying to fix the circuit board and then just goes “fuck it” and smashes into the whole thing. xD “Finn, wet, leaking” ! And taking out the prison guards! And piloting a damn AT-AT alone to shoot troopers! He’s so fucking smart and resourceful and just as much a daredevil as Poe, not to mention cute AF!
BB-9E was interesting we didn’t get much more from him than appearance so BB-8 FTW!
Give me BB-8 merch. All the BB-8 merch!  Pillows, plushies, the drone! I’m in love with all things BB-8!
But when it comes to droids, I wanted more from R2, he felt neglected. Though that move of showing the old recording of young Leia’s distress message to push Luke really was genius.
Wondering if the little boy at the end is force sensitive or if he (or other kids) will have any role in the Resistance, there was a lot of foreshadowing there.
OMG the movie was just sooooo good! The spoilers terrified me but it was so good, for a mid-trilogy movie it was just right. Let’s hope IX lives up to it.
Finally, one last question- WHY IS NOBODY ASKING WHAT HAPPENED TO THE OTHER HANDFUL OF PADAWANS (KNIGHTS OF REN) THAT LEFT WITH BEN??????
I got up and practically saluted when the “in memory of” showed up. It got me in tears.
Ok, end of rambles... for now.

Manda-Lore: 10 Things You Need To Know About Mandalorians Before Watching Disney’s The Mandalorian
Bounty hunters are cool no matter what fandom they belong to. However, among all these tough-as-nails guns and swords for hire, one stands out as the most stylish of them all, Boba Fett. Sadly, he got eaten by a Sarlacc and was defeated by a blind man... by accident. Thankfully, Disney was kind enough to do justice to their other Star Wars bounty hunters in the form of The Mandalorian.
RELATED: Star Wars: 10 Things You Didn't Know About Boba Fett's Suit
It's pretty much the Boba Fett fan service show we Fett fanboys have been clamoring for over the years. Of course, it's not exactly about Fett but another strong, silent type badass who wears the same armor - the iconic armor of the Mandalorian race in Star Wars. So before the show officially lands, it's time to brush up on your Manda-lore. Here's what you need to know about Mandalorians.
10 A RACE OF WARLIKE SUPERCOMMANDOS
Tumblr media
These guys are pretty hardcore. They were born and bred to be conquerors and conquer they did. Mandalorians are human but they are of a different breed since they originated from warriors, bounty, hunters, and mercenaries. That is something they used to full effect. They even managed to have their own commendable pocket in the universe called The Mandalorian Space; it's their conquered domain.
Due to their reputation and expertise for war, they have become feared in the Outer Rim. Eventually, their aggressive expansion led them to the Jedi's area of jurisdiction in the Inner Rim. As you can imagine, the Jedi did not warm up to their arrival and quickly resisted the Mandalorians. All-out war between the two factions ensued.
9 THEY HATE THE JEDI
Tumblr media
The Jedi Order and the Old Republic that they were defending proved to be more than a match against the Mandalorians. The race of warrior humans soon became outmatched with the Force on the Jedi's side. Still, they quickly adapted and built new technologies in order to counteract the formidable Jedi knights.
RELATED: Star Wars: 10 Characters Underused Throughout The Whole Series
The Jedi were unyielding (they had to be) and the Mandalorians were stubborn, meaning their conflicts were long and drawn-out. One could even assume that the Mandalorians treated the Jedi as their sworn nemesis faction. Due to having several wars and victories against the Jedi Order, Mandalorian warriors soon became known for their capability to fight the Jedi; they are among the few (probably the only) non-Force users in the Galaxy who could go toe-to-toe with Jedi.
8 ONE OF THEM BECAME A JEDI
Tumblr media
It wasn't until a Mandalorian named Tarre Vizsla took over that the Mandalorians shared a prolonged peace with the Jedi. Tarre was from a prominent house (royalty) in Mandalore and was somehow inducted into the Jedi Order. There, Tarre became a Jedi and was considered as the first Mandalorian to do so.
Eventually, Tarre would return to his home planet to set things straight; he became the ruler of Mandalore at one point. He was well-liked- even revered by the Mandalorians, despite being a Jedi. Tarre even had a statue of his own which the Mandalorians erected in his honor after he died. Likewise, the Jedi also respected him enough to recover his lightsaber after his death. Speaking of which...
7 THEY POSSESSED A REALLY COOL LIGHTSABER
Tumblr media
Tarre, being a unique member of the Jedi Order, simply had to distinguish himself from his space-monk peers. So, after graduating from the Jedi Academy, Tarre built himself a special kind of lightsaber. It was neither green, blue, nor purple-- it was black.
RELATED: 10 Things We Know So Far About The Mandalorian Season 1
Tarre called it the Darksaber and its shape resembled an actual saber instead of the usual popsicle light-beams most Jedi used. The coolest part was that it had a white glow but a pitch-black blade. Move over Mace Windu, Mandalorians got more swag than you. Anyway, such a unique lightsaber became a symbol of leadership among the Mandalorians; they even stole it back from the Jedi after the space-monks recovered it.
6 THEY DESTROYED THEIR OWN HOMEWORLD
Tumblr media
Soon after Tarre's death, the Mandalorians went back to their old ways. Warlords vied for power and waged a civil war against other warlords all the while waging another war against the Jedi. War after war on many fronts did not bode well for the Mandalorians' homeworld.
During their final struggle with the Jedi, the war caused a cataclysmic event of planetary proportion on Mandalore. This destroyed nearly half of Mandalore and turned the planet into a barren and uninhabitable white desert.
The Mandalorians only survived because they adapted and built dome cities to shield their civilizations off from the devastation. Only then did the Mandalorians gave up in their war and dreams of expansion.
5 THE SITH RULED THEM AT ONE POINT
Tumblr media
Because of their extreme capabilities of withstanding the Jedi, one would think that Mandalorians would've been a valuable asset to the Sith and they became one at one point. During the Clone Wars, Darth Maul, who was previously thought to be dead, turned out to be alive. He was then rescued and repaired by Pre Vizsla, a descendant of Tarre Vizsla himself who wanted to plunge Mandalore back to its warlike state.

Maul eventually killed Pre after the latter managed to unite the warmongering Mandalorian clans under his banner. Essentially this made Maul the effective ruler of Mandalore and the Sith managed to rule the Mandalorians. His rule was short-lived though; Maul was quickly deposed by peaceful Mandalorians who allied with the Jedi.
4 THEY ALSO HATE THE EMPIRE
Tumblr media
Maul did try to take Mandalore back but its current acting ruler, Bo-Katan along with the Republic's help, fought against him. The siege of Mandalore, however, was interrupted by Darth Sidious after he initiated Order 66. Maul managed to escape the carnage and his failed campaign.
Meanwhile, Bo-Katan was left as the ruler of Mandalore and refused to recognize the authority of the abruptly-formed Galactic Empire. She was momentarily replaced by the Emperor's puppet but came back to power again thanks to a young Mandalorian rebel who found the Tarre's Darksaber.
3 THEY DRESSED LIKE BOBA FETT
Tumblr media
Now, let's talk about style. That Mandalorian uniform is simply too awe-inspiring yet mysterious at the same time to omit. Boba Fett wore it first and it was noticeably weathered and old in the original trilogy. Meanwhile, his father, Jango, wore a shinier version of the Mandalorian armor.

It's arguably a more intimidating version of the Republic clone armor and the headpiece resembles the fearsome appearance of the Corinthian helmets in ancient Greece. This uniform is a staple Mandalorian armor too; it's what they use for war against the Jedi after years of adjusting their military technology and combat techniques to stand a chance against them.
2 JANGO AND BOBA ARE NOT MANDALORIANS
Tumblr media
If you haven't heard of this heartbreaking canon reveal already, then we're so sorry to tell you that it's official; both Jango Fett and his clone son Boba are not Mandalorians. That painful truth was okayed by George Lucas himself. It was revealed in episode 12, season 2 of Clone Wars where Prime Minister Almec from New Mandalore denies Jango Fett is a Mandalorian.
Turns out Jango might have just acquired his armor from a hapless Mandalorian and then went on to dress the part. Now, since Boba is an exact replica of Jango himself, he's also no Mandalorian. This leads us to another questionable fact, courtesy of George Lucas' film/TV canon choices...
1 THE CLONES AREN'T MANDALORIANS
Tumblr media
We all know that Jango Fett was chosen to be cloned due to his exceptional bounty hunter and mercenary skills. He has certainly shown that he knows how to handle the Jedi in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, especially during the fight against Obi-Wan. In all respects, such a feat is so Mandalorian; back then when we thought Jango was a Mandalorian, it made sense why he was the perfect clone template.
Turns out, he wasn't Mandalorian, and neither was Boba. That means the clones are just clones of some random seasoned human. Granted, Jango is fearsome and dangerous but making him and Boba a uniform thief (basically a fake Mandalorian) somewhat reeks of injustice. Hopefully, The Mandalorian gives us the "Boba Fett" we all want and have been waiting for.

The darkness of the room seemed to swallow any movement; the quiet breathing of someone next to him was the only sound. He turned over carefully, body aching at the slightest movement. He expected to see the beautiful blue-green eyes that embraced his dreams, but that was not the case. ‘No’ the soft word was only uttered in his mind as he thought back to the previous night, the terrifying nightmare that was now his existence. He had given into his Master’s dark desires, to save his heart, to save Ventress from going after his Obi-Wan. ‘His’, it was such a foreign word, but was it true? Could the Jedi Knight, whom seemed devoted to the light ever be his? Was it even a question that he should be considering as if he were the ideal person to possess him?
Acheros calmed as the aged man turned over and bound his arms tighter around his discolored and marked body, trying to dominate him in sleep as much as he did awake. The notion flared to life, the force whipping violently within his mind. The revulsion for this one man appeared to be the only thing keeping him going through these moments. ‘That isn’t true and you know it.’ Acheros had grown used to talking to himself, trying to keep tethered to the moment. It wasn’t true, yes the hatred and anger that he bore Darth Sidious kept him going, but it was the promise of those beautiful eyes shining with happiness that made it all worthwhile. He would do as he must to keep Obi-Wan safe from this darkness, no matter his personal cost.
The arms that constricted around him now seemed to cut off the actual air he required to breathe. He would not have a panic attack here. He would not bestow this monster with the satisfaction of knowing he was ruined. The space started to thin as his lungs inhaled the precious gas needed to keep living. He was going to die alone. No, it wasn’t the thought of being alone that hurt, it was the feeling that he would die a dark and hated creature. Acheros started to see stars in front of his eyes as he fought to sit up, clawing at the arms that only tried to hold him down. “Let…me…go” The words barely made it out of his throat, as a hand struck him hard against the face, launching him off the bed and onto the floor.
“You still haven’t learned your lesson, my dark love. Perhaps you need more than my lessons from last night to drive that point home.” Sidious rose from the bed, the sheet wrapped around his bare form, the white paleness of his skin showing the blue veins running through his body. It was enough to make him wretch as the bile threatened to purge from his lips. This wasn’t what he wanted, this wasn’t the man he wanted to share his bed with, and now it was too late. It was too late to take it all back and tell Obi-Wan that he was sorry for everything.
“You are correct, my apprentice. It is too late; your precious Kenobi will not want such a ruined soul in his bed, much less in his life. He will feel my dark bond to you, and know that I have tasted your sweetness and given you pleasure that pup could only dream of! You ARE MINE!” Acheros didn’t even flinch as the hand struck across his face once more, highlighting another scar that had been placed there almost a year ago. He almost lost his eye to this man’s evil plots, but now he had the scar to remember. Acheros struggled to his feet, his head down in defeat, even as he towered over the older man. “I am…yours.” The words were repeated with a robotic intention.
“See to it that you are cleaned up.” He sighed. “We have plans to discuss before I send you out on another mission.” Sidious dismissed him toward the fresher and sat at his data pad to look over his morning routine. He really hated to keep playing this game, but it wasn’t time to reveal himself yet, it wasn’t time for the Empire to rise from the ashes of the Republic. He had a few more pieces that had to be in play to ensure HIS victory. He was growing weary of the brooding moodiness of his apprentice and hoped to have Windu’s young one under his wing soon. Perhaps with Anakin Skywalker at his side, he could simply use a force collar on Acheros and chain him to the bed. The thought entertained him as he started to titter softly at the image. A chime from the comm drew him from the wicked thoughts back to the present. “Your highness, I am sorry to interrupt, but there is an emergency.” The sweet sound of the woman on the other side often soothed him, even when it was bad news.
“What has happened?” He was no longer Darth Sidious, but the charming Chancellor Palpatine at the flip of a switch. He had a role and he knew how to continue to play the politics of this corrupt system.
“The Jedi have demanded an immediate emergency session of the senate.” Her words were soft, yet even. She had seen the man angry, and didn’t want that wraith focused solely on her.
Palpatine gritted his teeth, squeezing his palm as the finger nails dug into his flesh. He would not lose his cool, he would not show his hand when they were so close to achieving everything. “My, it must be quite important to demand an immediate session. Did the Jedi give any indication as to what the matter was?”
“I’m sorry Chancellor Palpatine. They did not elaborate and they are being backed by both Naboo and Alderaan.”
“Very well, I shall endeavor to dress quickly and be in the senate halls within the half hour.” Palpatine slammed his hand down after the call was finished, the blood from his palm smearing against the desk.
“Master?” Acheros sauntered from the bathroom, his hair still drenched, droplets running down his chest and falling between the cracks of the towel wrapped tightly around his body. Palpatine, no he couldn’t think of him that way anymore. Sidious was concentrating on something within the force. He knew the dark master had a gift that rivaled that of Master Yoda when it came to the ebb and flow of the future.
Sidious turned on him, lightening suddenly flaring to life from those same bloody fingertips, crashing into Acheros. The water evaporated immediately as a scream was wrenched from his lips. He could take beatings, the mental anguish of the master playing his sick games, but even he could not stop the automatic response that this act wrought. “Nothing will save your PATHETIC Jedi now. NOTHING. He has meddled in my affairs for the last time.” Sidious stood over the panting man, trying to breathe once more as his heart fluttered from the erratic electricity still floating through his body.
“N. N. No.” The stutter was pronounced and would take hours to wear off if the past was any way to judge.
“I have given in to your weaknesses because of my feelings for you. I have allowed that man to live in hopes of keeping you to me, but no longer.” Sidious turned from his gasping apprentice to another comm channel that came to life at his touch. Standing before them, in a small blue fog, was Asajj Ventress, a very young woman that was once also a padawan with the Jedi. He often wondered what had happened to lead her down this path, but refused to ask. She had a thing for his knight. She wanted to watch him writhe under her torture, she wanted to flirt with him and compel him to the dark. Something was happening and he had to think quickly, even through the intense pain of this moment. “We are done waiting for Knight Kenobi to give up his hunt. He is yours, but I expect you to turn him or finish him. Do NOT fail me; I will not be as easy upon you.” Sidious turned to smirk at Acheros, watching him try to come to his feet, despite the agony.
“Master, please?”
“Enough!”
“If he must turn, or die, please let it be me. I’m the only one that can.” The words were still stuttered, but he was trying his best to ground himself in the darkness. “You know I speak the truth master. Ventress may be able to torture him, but she will never have the chance to turn him to our cause. If that is your goal…” Acheros flinched as those sunken eyes were upon him once more. He had spent these last two years, hiding what he could, building a solid wall in the force that even Sidious couldn’t break. He had to keep going; he had to keep his Obi-Wan alive.
Ventress hissed through the comm channel, “Master, I can do it! Give me a chance where this fool, failed. He’s no Sith, he’s still holding on to his past. Do not trust him!”
Sidious unexpectedly snarled at the image, watching Ventress back up even though distance prevented him from striking out at her. “You overstep your boundaries young one. I will see that Lord Acheros shows you the error of your ways when the two of you meet again.” Sidious’ eyes softened for a moment as he looked upon his apprentice’s sorrowful eyes. “I am no fool, Qui-Gon Jinn. I know your love for him, your attachment. That being said, I believe it is his attachment to you that will be his undoing. See that you do not forget whom you belong.” With that said Sidious shut off the comm and pulled the man down by his neck, plunging his tongue fiercely between now dry lips. It was a kiss that claimed ownership. Acheros closed his eyes and wished that things had been different, that he hadn’t spent years in the darkness that welcomed this man into his life. This was his punishment and he was damned if Obi-Wan would pay the price.
“You will hide yourself in the shadows, be prepared for anything. The force is too shaded at the moment to show me much of the future.”
“Yes, my Master.” Acheros spun to get dressed into the all black uniform that hugged his body. He no longer chose to wear a robe. He didn’t need a cloak to wrap himself into, not when the shadows now clung to him so easily. He would see his Knight again today and for once it wouldn’t be a moment of danger. He might be able to get a better look, a moment to see how he truly fared. Was he still thin, tired looking, did he still have signs of insomnia upon his face. One day he wished to see his beloved as he once did, full of life, happy and smiling. He just had to wait, it was coming. ‘Wait for it Obi, It will all come to a head soon.’
-
The senate building was as full as ever. The hustle and bustle of Republic members from every planet hurrying to the Senate floor, wondering what had caused the Jedi to request an emergency meeting. It wasn’t unheard of, but it had been decades since such a thing had happened. Obi-Wan Kenobi looked out into the chamber, observing as each delegation moved to their pods. Typically the Senate was sparse with only minimal attendance. The member’s only showing up for causes that meant something to them or their constituents. This was excitement that no one was going to miss.
“Credit for your thoughts?” There was a rich accent behind him, which drew the Knight from his reflections.
Obi-Wan turned to the voice and smiled as he saw the impeccably dressed Senator from Alderaan, Bail Organa. He was only a few years older than Obi-Wan, but had been entrenched in politics since birth. He had taken over his father’s seat only a few years before. They had met on a mission with his Master to Alderaan, when there was threat  to over throw his father’s regime. They had been together, taking a hike in the wilds when militia had taken them both. Obi-Wan had reached out to his master through their bond immediately, only to have it obstructed with a force suppressor. It was the first time Obi-Wan had ever been without his Master’s presence since he was elven years old. Distressed, and screaming from the pain, it was Bail that had nursed him through the panic, keeping him sane in the moment. They had been rescued shortly after, but their bond of friendship had been forged forever in those short hours together. “I’m not sure if this is the right move. Something in the force tells me that none of this is right, Bail.”
Bail raised a hand to the young man’s shoulder and gave an indulgent embrace. “I know how you feel about him, Ben.” Obi-Wan smiled at the nickname that he had shared with his old friend. “With all the intelligence we’ve gotten from the Outer Rim, along with holo-vids. Ben, he’s not the man you knew. He’s done unspeakable things in the name of the Sith. I…” Bail never faltered when speaking, Obi-Wan immediately realized that something was being held from him.
“Don’t hide this from me, Cricket.” It was a nickname that Bail’s friends had given him as a young boy who loved to get dirty and play games that royalty were supposed to bulk at.
“Ben, I don’t want to hurt you.” Concerned eyes looked at him, knowing that Obi-Wan wouldn’t give up on this line of questioning.
“I wish people would stop treating me as if I will break. I know what is whispered behind my back. I know that everyone thinks me foolish for my faith in the force and in Qui-Gon Jinn, but faith is the only thing that keeps me going, Bail. If I give up on that, there is nothing left to fight for.” Obi-Wan lowered his head, not wanting his friend to see the tears that were welling up. “Be my friend, Cricket. Trust me to handle it, please.”
Bail regarded the crowd that was almost fully assembled once again before turning back to the sullen sad eyes of his Ben, his loyal friend. “We have had new reports about disappearing Jedi.” Bail closed his eyes, knowing how much this would hurt. “The newest Jedi to be added to the presumed KIA list is Garen Muln. He had been on a flight mission to the Outer Rim; the last reports have a lone man, with long greying hair, black clothes and a blade of red running him through.” Bail tried to hurry the words from his lips, closing his eyes to not see the heartbreak on Obi-Wan’s face. After a few minutes of darkness, he had to open his eyes, as there had been no response from his friend. “Ben?”
He looked at the horrified face, a expression that had heart break and disillusion upon it. It was a look that Bail never thought he would see on Obi-Wan Kenobi. He had seen the look on many men and Jedi, but not on this one. “Ben, are you ok?”
“Ok?” He repeated the words, still blinking with sadness, confusion and horror. His best friend since the creche, the man he had just spoken to days ago, the one that Anakin had planned to share stories with. No, this couldn’t be, this couldn’t be happening. “No…” It was a breathless whisper as he caught his face within his hands, his mind unable to fathom the story that Bail delivered. “I don’t, believe. He wouldn’t, he knows of my friendship with Garen. He wouldn’t kill…” The words were franticly pouring from lips that seemed on the verge of melt down.
“Obi…Ben…It’s ok, I understand it’s not easy.”
“Not easy? You tell me that the man I thought to spend my life with, the man that I have held on to for years, hoping beyond hope that the force would lead back to us…” Obi-Wan turned towards the smooth heavy wall and started thrusting his fist against it time after time.
Bail tried to pull the hand back, watching the bloody mess that his knuckles had become. Obi-Wan turned at Bail and growled. Yes, he had growled, a low and menacing sound. “Ben, come back to me, come back to us. There is still hope, he’s only presumed…”
“Hope, faith?” Obi-Wan wiped the blood upon his white tunic and stared at Bail with hollow eyes. This was not his faithful friend, this was a broken man who just found out that Life Day was a farce, disillusioned by his convictions. “It’s time; the Sith must pay for his crimes.” This was the first time that Obi-Wan had used that term to refer to him, Mace was right; Qui-Gon Jinn was gone.
-
Darth Acheros hid silently in the shadows of the hallway, where Chancellor Palpatine would enter his personal pod. This gave him a great vantage point in which to watch the proceedings and keep an eye on those that might surprise his Master. Acheros had to cloak himself, this was taxing on his system, but with so many Jedi in attendance, he needed to keep himself invisible. It was just a slight tug, but his eyes were focused on the Alderaan Senatorial entrance. Something, no someone was radiating their confusion and hurt in the force. It was but a muted presence, but if he could feel it, then so could any other force sensitive.  His eyes focused on the shadows that were hiding two forms, Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan was huddled forward, being held tightly by Senator Organa. Shaking shoulders, letting him know that the distress he was feeling had come from Obi-Wan. There was a low growling in the shadows that brought him back to reality. It had been his own growl, his own jealousy. How dare Organa hold and comfort what was supposed to be his. “How precious. It looks like the pup has finally found someone else to sniff at.” The words were cold, but they had hit their mark. Acheros turned on his master and quickly went for the throat, surprised when he held the aging master against the wall with force. “That is the Acheros that took my dark heart. He’s not worth your time, it’s now our time to shine.”
Qui-Gon looked back at Obi-Wan, still held tightly in Organa’s arms. He wished the young man happiness; perhaps this was as it was meant to be. It was time to let go of the past, it was time to bring this whole farce to an end. “As you wish, Master.” Palpatine was let down gently, smiling at the victory.
“Let us see what the Jedi have planned, keep your eyes open.” Palpatine strode from the hallway into his pod, which took flight to waiver over all in attendance. “We have convened on behalf of the Jedi for an emergency meeting, as allowed in articles of tradition, 1.245.66. Who in the order is here to speak on their behalf?” The chancellor was surprised when the pod from Alderaan moved forward. Senator Organa, flanked by Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi, with Master Windu and Yoda behind him.
“I shall be speaking on behalf of my temple.” Obi-Wan declared flatly.
“State your name and rank for our constituents, please Knight.” Palpatine was honey sweet and it made Acheros nauseous to watch him address Obi-Wan in such a way.
“Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi, I was assigned to speak before the Senate by the Jedi Council and Grand Master of the Order, Master Yoda.” The words didn’t waiver, they were even and full of force.
There were whispers from other pods, as they all realized that they were going to be addressed by a meager knight, when the Grand Master stood behind him. “Objection, it is not proper that we be addressed by a subordinate of the Jedi when the Grand Master stands just behind him. What kind of farce is this by the Jedi?” The words were spewed from the Viceroy Gunray from the Trade Federation. Numerous other worlds cheered in agreement.
“Order! We will have order.” The Chancellor gave a saccharine smile at the Jedi. “Under this emergency session, they are allowed to pick their advocate, even an unseasoned Knight.” The last words were spoken nicely, but meant to undermine the Jedi. “Please Knight Kenobi, why have you called his meeting?”
“Chancellor Palpatine, Honorable members of the Senate, I am before you today with a grave matter that needs to be voiced within these halls. Years ago, the Jedi lost a member of our family, he was believed to be kidnapped by a dark force.” Obi-Wan felt his emotion would burst the more he continued.
The senator from Naboo, Senator Amidala came forward with her pod to offer assistance. “Qui-Gon Jinn, you speak of the man who was taken from our home. The Jedi who helped us rebuild after the Trade Federation’s invasion?”
“Objection! We did nothing of the sort; we were within our rights and have never been convicted of invasion. How dare she muddy our name in this chamber?”  Viceroy Nute Gunray bellowed.
“You are out of Order Senator Amidala. The floor is not yours at this moment. Please carry on, Knight Kenobi.”  Palpatine glared back into the shadows at his apprentice, wondering where this was going.
“It is with a heavy heart and sorrow that the Jedi Order must strike Qui-Gon Jinn from our records and forever refer to him as a Sith. He has…” There was a slight falter that hurt Acheros to see from his light. “He is responsible for the deaths of at least forty-one Jedi Knights. We had hoped to retrieve him from the hands of the master before it went this far. Jinn is now the hand of the Dark Lord of the Sith. This is not the stories that are told to crechlings in front of camp fires. These are not the stories from the old wars between the Jedi and the Sith, they are current and happening around us. The Sith have returned and they are threatening our Republic. We owe it to the Senate to bring this to your attention, even if it hurts the reputation of our Order.” Kenobi took a breath, and listened to the hushed and shocked murmurings of those around him. He had to finish this, he had to make it through this assembly like the Jedi he was trained to be. “That being said, we the Order of the Jedi proclaim Qui-Gon Jinn, Darth Acheros, a traitor to the force and an enemy of the Republic. There will be no trial, there will be no mercy. When we find him, he will pay for his sins.”
Mace Windu moved just a bit closer to his former padawan. They still shared a small bond, it was currently filled with sorrow and hurt. There would be time for words, but that was not here and now.
“In the matters of the Force, the Jedi hold precedent. Let the record show that Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn is no longer a friend of this Republic. However, I would question how someone could so easily turn if the Jedi Order had policed its own to begin with.” The Chancellor would not let the Jedi look superior before this audience. “I would think if you had control of your Order, than this man would never be allowed to continue. Perhaps we need another investigation into the order’s programs to ensure this doesn’t happen again.”
Master Yoda, tapped his gimmer stick against the pod, allowing Obi-Wan to move to the back and give him the floor. “Not your business is the Jedi’s methods. Look over our own programs we are. Work on more mind healers for our forces we will. Remember, the Order serves all and does not answer to this Senate, but choose to offer transparency we do. Give report to the Chancellor we will, but investigation into Qui-Gon Jinn we will not allow.”
There were rumblings, even from those sympathetic to the Jedi at those words. “Why do they think they are above the senate? What makes them so different then us? If we don’t police them, who will?”
Yoda’s ears lowered as he softened. “Not above the law we are. Love Qui-Gon Jinn, I do, Padawan to me he was. Joy this does not bring to me, but bring him to justice we must. Open we shall be, but separate from the Senate we must stay, or all is lost.”
Chancellor Palpatine finally stepped in to stop the back and forth. “The Jedi Order have been friends to the Republic for as long as we have recorded their history. We should respect their honor and allow them to correct what has gone wrong. We will give them the leeway that they ask for and honor that they will return with a way to keep this from happening again, lest we do it for them. We are adjourned.” Palpatine swept back into the hallway that would lead back to his chambers, looking on the yellowing eyes of his apprentice. “They have forsaken you. You must see now that I am the only one you can trust. You will return to Mustafar and await my instructions.”
“Yes, Master.” The hallow words rang through the hallway. He was still shocked at the vehemence he felt from Obi-Wan and the heartbreak from his former Master. It was as it should be, but it ate at his soul to feel that hatred aimed toward himself. He had prided himself on keeping that small light hidden deep inside him that was named Obi-Wan Kenobi. Could he continue to hold on to that hope when all seemed pointless? Would Obi-Wan finally find him and end his life, embraced by the darkness for eternity? Acheros hung his head and preceded down the hall, this would speed up his plans. It was time to get back to work.
-
The pod came to rest once again. Everyone turned to look upon Obi-Wan with sad eyes, “Ben, are you ok?”
“Yes, Master. I’m fine.” Fine was such a incomprehensible word upon his tongue. His heart had been ripped out from his very soul. The vision of Qui-Gon’s large form striking down his old friend kept flashing before his eyes, but he was fine.
“Fine you are not, but understand we do.” Yoda tapped him gently. “Know how you feel I do. Sorry I am.”
Obi-Wan shook his head, trying to wipe away the cobwebs that seemed to hold down his thoughts. “I know.” It wasn’t true, however, they had no idea how he felt. They may have loved Qui-Gon, but they hadn’t spent the last two years making excuses, holding out hope that the man would come back to them. They hadn’t had faith in the force that told him it wasn’t too late. Faithless, tired and emotionally drained, the Knight turned and bowed to those present, whirling to find comfort under his tree. It was the last connection to the man that was and he would mourn that loss, alone.
