Dear monogamous people

Before you start dating a non-monogamous consider this: We're not your go-to when you're single. We're not into casual automatically. It's not always about the sex - doesn't even have to involve sex overall. It's about connecting. It's about love. It's about the freedom to love.

Being interested isn't enough. You need to understand your own responsibility when you're dating someone who isn't monogamous.

Dating with the purpose to convert someone from non-monogamy to monogamy is as bad as if we were forcing non-monogamy on you guys.

Be clear about your intentions, your boundaries, your view on the relationship. Communication is the key.

If you've had bad experience with non-monogamy reconsider how much it affects you in the present situation. Are you truly desiring to try out non-monogamy again (knowing the situation might be different) or are you just purely ignorant about it at the moment because you're on cloud nine? Falling in love with someone doesn't equal you're practically going to work as a couple. Just because they are poly it doesn't mean that they're okay with simply cuddling and sex.

Don't date or even be involved with non-monogamous if you can't handle their choice of relationship-lifestyle. We deserve commitment, respect and honesty as much as monogamous counterparts.

We need to kill the idea that polyamory is always a choice and never something that can be hardwired. Strictly monogamous relationships make me EXCEEDINGLY anxious and uncomfortable, and I know it’s not issues with commitment because I want to commit to multiple people! Multiple things! Multiple crimes! There’s so many things I want to commit! And I’ve just always been like this. Monogamous relationships felt *weird* to me in a way I couldn’t describe but I didn’t realize polyamory was a thing you could do or be until a little after my first relationship.

For some people, whether they’re in a mono or poly relationship doesn’t matter. But for others, they are literally hardwired to be poly or hardwired to be mono. Polyamory for me is as immutable as me being bisexual.

3/7/24.

These steroid shots in my elbow fucking hurt.

We also got a rain storm that rolled in very quickly. So my body is definitely telling me about that.

I desperately miss my boyfriend. I haven’t seen him in six weeks. He is going through bad depression and I’m trying not to make it worse. I just miss him so much We talk daily, but I haven’t seen him in several weeks and I miss his touch and his smell. I live with my girlfriend, I love them both very much. I just haven’t seen him in so long. I’m trying my hardest not to say anything that would make his mood worse. Cause truly I understand how hard depression is, he says he just wants in bed all day. I know he is working on getting better, but that doesn’t happen over night. I will be here for him when he is better I just miss him so incredibly much right now.
