Pomefiore and heartslabyul
With a noelle mc !if you can!!
omg noelle 🥺 i'll be separating the request and put the link here ueueue and i would like to ask if maid a gender neutral term or not so i can change the description hehe
pomefiore with a noelle-like gender neutral reader!
a polite and professional maid aspiring to become part of the knights, ready to help those people in need despite what they are or have done but they tend to overwork themselves causing the people around them worried.
Tumblr media
: ̗̀➛ vil schoenheit
lately, vil notice how some students would seem to have more free time in their hands - as if they aren't bothered by their pending requirements and all
that is until the dorm leader overheard someone talking about a certain prefect doing all the work
"have you done the latest homework given by mr crewel?"
"i haven't... but i can ask (name) to help me anyways!"
"care to tell me what about the prefect of ramshackle dorm?"
"d-dorm leader!"
it turns out that you are helping your fellow first years in their homework but in the end you get to finish their work and those people get to chill in return
hearing about you overworking yourself for the sake of others - this enraged vil that is why the moment he saw you - he immediately took you to the dorm
"vil-senpai? what is going on?"
"you are going to take a break and no more overworking yourself."
due to that, vil had rook always watching out for people who might take advantage of your kindness
and whenever you are done with your own tasks - vil would often invite you over the pomefiore dorm to relax and unwind with skincare routine and even with some tea!
seeing you work though is a different matter because if vil would describe your work - it would be magnificent because you are really good in doing the work
and despite being buried in many work - you still look very proper which he applaud for + probably the only person he trust to style his hair and it always turn out nicely
"all done! you look amazing as usual!"
"its an obvious result. but potato, i know you find joy in helping other potatoes but please take care of yourself. i am really worried for you sometimes."
"i'll keep that in mind but in case you need me, I'll be there."
for you, the pomefiore dorm leader taught you how to relax once in a while even if it means not being at the beck & call of people - and it is really fun to hang around with vil as it is like a new breeze came in and help you lighten up.
Tumblr media
: ̗̀➛ rook hunt
"you have been staring from up there in a while, do you maybe need some help?"
well that was first for rook, for someone to approach him willingly and even offered some help!
after knowing that you are the prefect of the ramshackle dorm, color him surprise - you really got along with the ghost in the vicinity and grim!
he would occasionally drop by whenever you are having your breakfast eager to know more about you
"bonjour préfet travailleur, what a wonderful day we are having!"
"hi rook-senpai! i got a feeling that you will drop by again so i made you some food so feel free to eat them!"
its funny how you are just so kind and welcoming that the vice dorm leader thought that maybe the magic mirror really made a mistake and you should be at rsa instead
"you must be tired from observing leona-san the whole day, remember to take breaks!"
??? how did you know about that?? 🧐 maybe you are really for nrc
but anyways the hunter really loves talking to you the type of long talks that will take ages to end and to his shock you really listen to his rambles!
can he adopt you as his child? no? what a shame!
would be very proud of your works and performance like he was your number one fan! i am not joking rook would literally shower you with compliments
"magnifique! your fight was splendid!"
he would always have your back and ready to gather the pomefiore gang whenever you are feeling down. and rook would be prepared to give you everything if you asked - that is how much you mean to him
Tumblr media
: ̗̀➛ epel felmier
can epel just say how much he look up to you?
the first time you first meet - he could swear he could just trust you with his whole life after you saved him from being hit by a magic-imbued ball
"hey watch out!" the moment epel turn around, curious why everybody was screaming, he saw the ball coming towards him. there was not enough time to dodge it so he just closed his eyes waiting for the pain. until -
"are you alright?! you are not hurt aren't you?"
from that moment on, epel swore to be your friend. he want to know more about you! how do you carry that big sword? do you train for a long time to use it? tell him more about your story!
"so are you a knight then?!"
"oh i didn't get to be one, i failed the exam. but i won't give up!"
after hearing that, it made him very shocked because you really look like a knight, act like a knight and you are pretty good in doing your tasks!
nevertheless epel would still cheer you on and sometimes join your training routine to help him improve in terms of strength.
"i want to become as dependable as you!"
"you are already perfect the way you are epel, but sure feel free to join me if you like!"
never he would've thought he would have a best friend like you, like the pillar that always supports and aspire him to work hard
"if you think that no one appreciates your help then i am here! i always appreciate you for listening to my stories and i am so glad you became my friend!"
you two really became close and always find time to hang out with each other and vil approved of you because you been a really good influence to his dorm mate
it was like epel is your long lost sibling and the way he would secretly defend you while you help others in their problems really made your heart warm especially when he and the first year gang would sometimes give you a salute
"i admit my friends are troublemakers, but i wouldn't trade them for anything in the world. "

Alright new AU idea.
I deadass thought of this immediately after watching the TADC pilot.
I don’t have a name for this AU but it’s an alternate timeline at the end of Deltarune chapter 7 where Kris and Susie are in TADC in which I’m definitely not making this on Scratch or anything…
It’s kinda why I made this image:
(Also Kris and Pomni will be separate people in this AU)
Tumblr media
TL;DR:
No more dark worlds, Asriel came back from college, but through them though Kris managed to make a friend, Susie. And even after finally getting rid of the SOUL, Kris and Susie continue to be friends. One day, they are hanging out at Kris’s house and finding weird things under their bed while Asriel is studying. Kris and Susie find two old headsets and decide to put them on, and I think you know what happens next…
MAIN STORY:
End of Deltarune chapter 7
After the day is saved permanently. Kris and Susie return to the light world.
(I do think something big would happen in chapter 7, but being a fan of Toby Fox, I think the last light world scene, if there is one, will just be normal with a slight twist)
Asriel has came home from University and just as Kris is about to walk home
*Bright lights shine from the inside
Susie: …well. Guess I should go now.. Erm, have fun with your brother I guess.
*Leave Susie?
Yes ❤️ No!!!
[Upon choosing “Yes”]
Susie: Well, see ya.
*Susie left the party…
[Upon choosing “No!]
Susie: …? Maybe later, I’ll let you see your brother right now.
*Susie left
Entering inside the house
(Slowed version of “You can Always Come Home” plays)
[walking to the dining room]
[Asriel and Toriel are talking inside at the dinner table]
Toriel: So I said, “Have an egg-selent day!”
Asriel: Hehe. But what happened with dad?
Toriel: Oh don’t worry about him…
[Asriel noticing Kris]
Asriel: Kris!
[Asriel get up and hugs Kris]
Asriel: Oh I forgot, you don’t like hugs like that.
Toriel: Why don’t you go clean yourself up Kris?
Asriel: Don’t flush any bath bombs in the toilet!
[Kris walks to the bathroom]
(Extras)
[Attempting to go to your bedroom]
Asriel: Going to sleep already? Why am I not surprised?
Toriel: Come on Kris. You’ve been missing your brother, have you not?
[Attempting to go back outside]
Asriel: Mom’s said you’ve made a friend lately.
Toriel: You’ve had the strangest adventures, had you not?
Toriel: I must have been dreaming if that wasn’t the case.
Asriel: Mom, what the hell are you talking about?
[Interacting with the couch]
*The remote is wedged against the cushions.
*You can’t help but feel nostalgic…
Toriel: KRIS! GO WASH YOUR HANDS!
[Trying to call Toriel]
*ring, ring…
*Click!
Toriel: Kris, please go wash your hands.
[Interacting with the trash can]
*The trashcan is emitting a strong rotten floral scent
Asriel: You were always a weird kid, Kris.
Asriel: And somehow…
Asriel: No offense but you’ve gotten weirder.
Toriel: ASRIEL
Asriel: HEY! IM BEING HONEST!
In the bathroom
[interacting with the sink]
*One last thing to do…
*Wash your hands?
Yes ❤️ Not yet
[Upon choosing “Yes”]
*You turn the sink up loudly.
*…
*You lift your arm…
[Kris tears out their SOUL]
[Kris breaks their SOUL, the screen goes blank]
Kris: Finally. Freedom.
Sepia Flash forward ass shit
(Some goofy ahh remix plays)
[Image of Kris, Toriel and Asriel eating cinnamon-butterscotch pie. They seem happy]
Kris: It was weird at first, without the SOUL’s control, but I was happy. Happier than I’ve ever been.
[Image of Kris sleeping like a maniac]
Kris: I can finally sleep normally, nothing controlling me. No stings, just wings.
[Picture of the SOUL]
Kris: No more forced interacting with people I don’t even know
(I literally am playing Omori while waiting for Deltarune Chapter 3, so tell me if I’ve forgotten anything or forgot something about a character’s personality. I appreciate your feedback)
[Picture of The Deltarune]
Kris: Admittedly, I’ll miss the dark world. At least I don’t have to deal with that little fluff.
Kris: Susie, Noelle, Berdly, everyone, do they feel the same way?
[Picture fades. Blank screen for an awkward five seconds]
Morning
[Kris’s room. Susie shaking Kris]
Susie: Kris wake up!
[Kris lifts their head]
Kris: Susie?!
[Susie puts Kris down]
Kris: How the HELL did you get in here?!
[If you choose to remove Susie from your party earlier]
Susie: Sorry, Kris. Just never had a friend as good as you before. Your brother let me in.
Susie: I wanted to check up on ya, but I’ll leave…
[Susie slowly walks out]
Kris: Wait! You can stay!
Susie: What? Kris, you seem different…
Kris: Yeah about that…
Susie: …don’t worry
Susie: The only thing weirder than your family were these last few days am I right!
Kris: yeah…
Susie: WOW! THIS FRIEND THING IS EASIER THAN I THOUGHT!
Susie: (kinda miss Lancer though…)
*Susie has joined the party
Susie: …
Susie: So what do we do?
Kris: I dunno.
[Susie goes to Asriel’s bad and starts digging for stuff inside]
Susie: Hey! Let’s see what creepy stuff is under Asriel’s bed!
Kris: …
[Kris jumps high into the air like a fuckin cat and starts going gremlin mode under Asriel’s bed]
[Kris and Susie dig out two video game controllers, one knock off one and a normal one, I-CEE’s coupons (I hope I spelt that right but I’m too lazy to search it up), magazines, a Yoshi plushie, etc, but then, they find something unexpected]
[Susie and Kris slowly pick up two dusty headsets,, they seem to have already turned on]
(“The Door” plays)
[The lights get brighter, the surroundings get darker]
Susie: Geez Kris. Didn’t know you and your bro had VR.
Kris: we don’t-
Susie: I only seen these things on TV. Let’s try them out!
Kris: Yeah sure!
[If you chose not to remove Susie from your party earlier]
Susie: Your mom let me in.
Susie: I kinda want to do this friend thing more with you.
Kris: Hehe, same here…
Susie: Y’know I haven’t really had a friend until you arrived.
Kris: …
Susie: DUDE IT’S NOT THAT I LIKE LIKE YOU!
Susie: (I already like Noelle, geez…)
[Insert anything that was highlighted in neon purple. Sorry, I ain’t writing all that shit again but in going on a fucking flight soon]
Putting on the headsets
[Insert dramatic flashing lights]
[Kris and Susie Collapse. Screen goes black for an awkward five seconds or smth]
The Amazing Digital Circus
[bit-crushed remix of TADC theme plays]
[Insert pixelizated version of TADC intro aight I’m done writing this.]
[Black screen
Susie: GOD $&@!ING ¥?#%@IT WHATEVER YOUR NAME IS WHERE THE $&@! ARE WE?!
Caine: Nu uh uh! I’m sorry but we can’t have that foul language.
PS: I know there is very little TADC in here, but I promise that the majority of this AU will take place in the digital circus. This was just the prologue.
PSS: So Kris will be a jester. I don’t have a design for Susie but I might make her an acrobat or smth
PSSS: The SOUL somehow manages to respawn in the digital circus, so Kris is screwed (don’t ask how, I’m still figuring that part out)
PSSSS: Like I said earlier please leave any suggestions. (Constructive criticism only unless it’s THAT BAD)
PSSSSS: VOTE FOR THE AU NAME RIGHT NOW!

After Nick dropped me home after our trip and the break up between me and Carter. I needed some time away. I couldn’t go on the family holiday and face them after what I did. I’m ashamed of what they would think of me. I don’t regret the affair. I love Nick. But I also loved Carter and am so disappointed in myself that I hurt him. I could have just ended it but 3 years down the drain for a couple of months of fun with Nick. But I thought I could just end it, who was I kidding Nicks my person.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Needing space and time away I called up my old friend from University, Yuri. She was always a great friend to me and never judged. She is a fashion designer in Paris with her own Boutique. She said her and her best friend Scarlett were going to head to Sulani for Christmas this year instead of their with families. Our first night we went to a beach bar and had some drinks and danced the night away.
Yuri: So what’s got you calling me during Christmas. Doesn’t your family go on this huge holiday every year?
Noelle: Yeah but I just wasn’t feeling it this year. (Shrugs taking another drink)
Yuri: That’s not like you. What’s up?
Noelle: I don’t really want to get into it. I’m here to drink, dance and forget.
Yuri: That I can help with
Tumblr media
The next day after a massive hangover we went to the spa. I got a massage that was very much needed. I don’t know why I am feeling so overwhelmed. I want to be with Nick more than anything. It’s always been him but for some reason it’s too much to say I want that. I don’t want my family to hate me or think less of me because I cheated. So leaving was the only thing that came to mind. I do this a lot run away from my problems. That’s why Nick and I broke up to begin with. I got into the Arts academy in Paris and didn’t think we could make long distance work. I ended it before both of us could get hurt. It would have ended anyway right?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After my massage I went to the bar with Scarlett. We talked and got to know each other better. She told me about her mysterious one night stand with some Investor from Mt. Komerebi. She doesn’t really want a relationship she says. Technically she’s already in one.
Noelle: So how’s life been going?
Scarlett: Good, I’ve been traveling a lot for work. I’m a travel blogger and influencer.
Noelle: oooh cool!! So you get to see a lot of the world.
Scarlett: Yeah it has its perks. While home I had a one night stand with this amazing guy!!!
Noelle: Really what was that like? I’ve never really done that ( blushes) I’ve only ever been with two people. Tried the one night stand thing it’s not for me.
Scarlett: Well ( chuckles) It was the best sex of my life. I can tell he wants me because the entire weekend he wouldn’t leave me alone. But I’m technically in a relationship.
Noelle: What do you mean technically?
Scarlett: It’s a PR relationship. My manager made me get into one to increase my exposure.
Noelle: I see. It does bring a lot of exposure. My relationship with my fiancé… sorry ex fiancé now was very private but people still wanted to know who stole the heart of Windenburgs star ballerina
Scarlett: Yeah I get it but it’s like I really do t want a relationship right now I just want to worry about me and finding myself in my travels.
Noelle: it was nice to officially meet you Scarlett. Merry Christmas
Scarlett: Merry Christmas to you Noelle. We’ll have to all hang out again
Tumblr media
This trip really brought some prospective on what I want in life and what I don’t. I know I want to be with Nick. But I also know I’m scared. I feel like I will mess everything up and it won’t work out. I just want to be his Elle and him my Pooh and we are just happy and build a beautiful family. But is it too late. Did I ruin our chances.

Can I request Berdly with kind extrovert!S/O who love games like he does but also slowly helps him be more humble and fun with his peers??
Berdly With A Kind And Extroverted S/O, Who Helps Him Be More Humble And Have Fun With His Peers
Tumblr media
❝ Yay, a request with Berdly! :D
*realizes I do not know how to write him*
... oh
But yes- thank you for sending a request! It was fun! My first time actually writing something about this epic gamer :] ❞
Tumblr media Tumblr media
• it's pretty clear how you and Berdly became friends. You both enjoy games, you're kind, extroverted. And while he isn't really introverted, you being more outgoing does help with befriending people.
but *ahem*
• As his partner and player number 2, you wanted to help Berdly become friends with your classmates. It's no secret that some of your classmates, were not very fond of him.
• The problem is... Berdly, didn't really want to hang out with his classmates?
• I mean, why would he want to? He has his smarts and grades much better than most of his peers. Plus, he's not entirely alone, he still has you.
• But after seeing some of his classmates having fun together and just being silly, he realized that maybe spending some time with others, wouldn't be so bad. Especially after he saw you there. You were hanging out with them? And having fun??
• After that, he came up to you and mumbled somethings. You couldn't understand most of it but from what you were able to hear, an idea came to your mind.
• Berdly just wants to hang out with his classmates!
• You started planning some meet up with a few of your classmates. You know, one step at a time.
• You talked with Berdly. A lot. You've had many discussions about topics to discuss and things not to say. Berdly seemed confident in his skills, but in reality, he was actually a bit... Worried.
• But with you by his side, everything would be alright!
• It was going okay, but thanks to Noelle and... Kris? And Susie?? He actually had a lot of fun???
• And who would've thought, Berdly had a ton of fun and was already looking forward to the next meeting. Of course, he didn't say that, but it was pretty easy to tell by his smile.
• Oh, and at the end of the day, he thanked you. No comments boosting his ego or slight complaints. He just wanted to thank you.

Godparent 1.7k words || Fathers Day 2022 Masterlist
tw: periods
"Thanks for this Levi, I appreciate it." Erwin says as he loads his and Maries last bags in the car.
The men look over and see mother and daughter hugging.
"We'll just be gone the week, okay?" Marie says to Noelle.
"Mom, Levis not gonna let anything happen." She's a little sarcastic, but what would one expect from a 14 year old?
"It's so odd that you two get on so well." Erwin chuckles.
"Well, I've only know her since she was born." Levi shrugs. It's been a while since their last sleepover.
While Marie was still pregnant, she and Erwin asked Levi if he would be Noelles Godfather. Watch out for her, provide guidance and support.
Levi took his role seriously from the beginning and he and this little girl were somehow best friends, and even now that she's a bratty teenager, she still seems to listen to Levi more than anyone.
"Well, come on Noe, ready to go?" Levi is picking her up at the Smiths place so Erwin and Marie can try to beat traffic out of town.
"Be good while we're gone." Erwin gives her one more half hug and they're off.
Levi grabs Noelles bag and puts it in his car and the two head in a different direction.
"So, excited for school in the fall?" Levi asks. She's going into high school then.
She shrugs. "Summer just started. Haven't thought about it." She's got other things on her mind.
"What are you doing for summer?" He doesn't mind that she can be short with him sometimes.
Another shrug. "Hang out, probably."
"That sounds fun." He says dryly, making her give a small laugh.
"Well, dad wants to sign me up for soccer. That'd be okay probably."
"Your other friends going to join? Uh, who's the one with glasses who likes butterflies? Ashley?" Levi only remembers a couple friends names.
Noelle makes a face. "Probably too busy with her boyfriend." More than half her friend circle seem to have found someone, and the other half are away for the summer doing family trips.
"I see." Levi is beginning to understand.
"See what?" She demands.
He doesn't answer as they pull in his driveway and make their way inside.
"You don't have a boyfriend." Levi points out once they're settled in the living room with the tv on for noise.
"So? You don't have a girlfriend." She fires back.
"Hey! Don't be a brat." Yes, it is rare for Levi to be seen with someone other than his regular group.
Noelle mumbles a sorry. "I can't talk to anyone about it." Since all the girls her age are busy.
"Try your mom or dad?"
Now Noelle gives a full laugh. "Them? No way! What do they know?" Who talks to their parents?
"They got each other. They must know something." Levi suddenly smacks her with a couch pillow.
"More than you!" She hits him right back.
They go back and fourth, in the end Levi tells her not to worry or grow up so fast, because before the summer ends, he guarantees most of the girls won't have boyfriends anymore.
The rest of the day is lazy, the following consists of paying for one movie and then sneaking into one other, right after refilling the popcorn.
Noelle grins when she thinks how horrified her parents would be, and Levi tells her Erwin used to join him in doing this.
Levi gets her to help with a shelving project in his garage and turns out Noelle is pretty handy and they have it up in no time. He takes her to dinner afterwards and lets her get dessert and they stay up talking once they get home.
"Sorry you're stuck with me." He says, afraid maybe she's bored.
"Are you kidding? You're my favorite adult." She knows she can be moody sometimes but Levi deals with it well.
"Yeah? You're my favorite kid." Levi thinks about that and sighs. "Can't say that much longer." Only a few more years, technically.
The day after two of Noelles friends she thought couldn't bother with her are outside Levis front door asking if she can hang out.
After a quick conversation, he gets their numbers and sends them on their way, telling her to be home in a couple hours.
While getting some things done around the house Levi gets an unexpected phone call from one of Noelles friends asking him to pick her up.
He tries not to overthink anything and once there she's waiting on the porch and bolts to the car, waving to her friends who wave back.
"What's going on? You didn't have a good time?"
"It's not that." She's almost crying. "We need to stop at the store."
"Huh? Shouldn't we just go-"
"We need to!" She insists, so that's where they go.
Levi tries to ask more questions on the way, and she finally shouts out it's a girl thing, shutting him up right away.
Noelle is new to the world of womanhood and didn't plan for this.
While she goes to get something to wear, Levi grabs something for her cramps.
Once in line to pay, a voice shouts out her name and Levi sees her panic momentarily as she shoves the products into his hand.
"Eric, hi!" She does a complete turn around in a matter of seconds.
Levi looks at the boy around her age and smirks. Yes, he knows this one too. He was at her last birthday party.
"You remember my uncle Levi." She always introduces him with that title.
Levi nods to him and gets a hello in response as Noelle steps away to chat while he finishes purchasing.
He waits by the front door and soon Erics dad is calling him and the kids say their goodbyes.
Back in the car and for a while at home it's back to not feeling well until the meds kick in.
"Thanks Levi." Noelle finally emerges from the bedroom later after laying down.
"See? Adult, told you." He jokes and she laughs.
"Whatever." She likes that he doesn't make a big deal, and appreciates his help at the store.
"So, tell me about Eric." He prods the subject, and her eyes light up.
Turns out, she likes this one, and Levi finds out all these things he didn't need to know, like Erics starting a band. But as Noelle continues he listens and shows interest.
"He asked if I could hang out tomorrow, but I said I have to ask." She looks at Levi.
Levi thinks about this. Eric is a boy. He's a friend. He just let her hang with her girl friends. But this wouldn't be quite the same.
"Well, if it's okay with his dad, why don't you guys hang out here?" That could work.
"Really? Okay then. But, don't try to scare him off!" She says, knowing Levi can be intimidating.
After the adults speak the next day, Erics dad drops him off and things go pretty well. Levi behaves himself and let's them be in the living room, and not long after they're in the kitchen wanting snacks. Levi makes all of them a little something and they sit around the table talking.
The three spend more time together then just the two kids alone, and Levi feels Eric is pretty genuine.
Noelle acts like her regular self around this boy and Levi is proud that she doesn't play fake to get him to like her.
"Thanks so much Levi." Noelle hugs him later in the evening after Eric leaves.
He ruffles her hair and chuckles. "You're going great." He tells her. Being 14 isn't easy.
Before they know it, the weeks come to an end and Erwin and Marie are back picking up Noelle to take her home.
"You have a good time?" Marie asks her daughter.
"Yes, and I missed you." Noelle hugs her mom. She's the only one would understand.
"She's a good kid. Maybe a brat, but that's okay." Levi tells Erwin.
"We all went through that stage." Erwin tries to go easy on her, unless she really pushes it, which isn't often.
Levi and Noelle say their goodbyes and Levi says he'll see her next weekend at the Smiths house.
"Thanks again Levi."
Next week comes and neighbors are outside for a get together. Some of Noelles friends are there, as is Eric.
Levi sticks to helping Erwin get the food ready.
"Noelle still can't stop taling about how much fun she had at your place." Erwin mentions.
"I didn't mind having her."
Levi feels Erwin staring at him and pauses. "What?" He asks.
"It's not every week you leave your daughter and come back to her having a boyfriend." Erwin still doesn't know how he feels about Eric. He's a good kid, but that's his little girl.
"Hey, hey, she did that all on her own." He will not be blamed for this.
Erwin laughs. "Can't believe she found someone before you did." He teases Levi, making him roll his eyes.
"You two are just alike." He says about father and daughter.
"That's okay. Maybe you'll meet someone today." Erwin knows Levi isn't necessarily looking. And while there's nothing wrong with being single, it would be entertaining to see Levi fall for someone and settle down.
"Maybe." He isn't opposed to the idea.
"Levi! Come meet my friend." Marie calls to him when the men come back outside.
Levi side eyes Erwin. "Todays the day, is it?"
"If you can help play matchmaker for Noelle, you can at least pretend to play along for Marie."
Levi half agrees. He'll go say hello, but take a cue from his favorite teenager, and be himself.
"Oh, this is Levi." Marie says to her friend, who turns and leaves Levis mouth open a bit at how attractive he finds her.
"Hello." You smile brightly and shake his hand.
"Hi." Levi clears his throat after that one word comes out an octave higher, leaving you trying to hide a beautiful smile.
His eyes scan over to Noelle, Eric, and a couple other kids. She's watching him grinning, and he swears she winks at him.
A whole family of matchmakers. Well, they can't all be wrong.
Yes, maybe today is the day.

It's been a while since Ralsei had seen his friend, but he was sure she wouldn't be hard to find at all...
Noelle stood in the middle of her room staring blankly into space as thoughts raced through her mind faster than usual. Ralsei knew exactly what this meant: Noelle wasn't thinking about anything in particular; she was just overthinking everything.
"Noelle?" He asked softly from behind her, startling her out of her trance. She turned around slowly to see Ralsei standing there looking worried. "What's wrong? Did something happen today at school or-" His eyes widened when they met hers. She looked like death itself, which made him worry for her safety. Ralsei immediately ran up to Noelle and wrapped his arms around her tightly, hoping that it would make her feel better somehow. She didn't respond to his hug or any of his words, instead keeping her head buried on his chest and shivering uncontrollably. Ralsei continued holding onto Noelle until he noticed that his own heart beat had increased by a lot more than normal and he felt his body shaking slightly due to the adrenaline rushing through his system.
Ralsei realized then how much he cared for Noelle and he wanted nothing but the best for his friend. Ralsei knew this wasn't the time to say anything because the last thing he needed right now was to get emotional himself; so he kept silent and just held Noelle close. Ralsei was relieved when she finally lifted her face away from his shirt collar and let out a sigh as she stared into space once again.
"I'm sorry I freaked you out," she said with a slight smile, "but thank you for being there." Ralsei smiled back at her, "It's fine, don't worry about it... Are you sure everything's okay?" She nodded in response, "Yeah, it's just been one of those days..." Ralsei could tell she didn't want him asking questions, which made him understand why she hadn't told him what happened earlier, since it must have really hurt her. He decided not to press the issue further, knowing that if she didn't feel like talking then he shouldn't force it upon her. Ralsei figured that Noelle would talk to him eventually, whether or not that meant today. With that thought running through his head, he released Noelle from his hug and took a step back to look her over. Ralsei had seen Noelle many times throughout the day and he couldn't help but notice how pale and shaky she looked. The fact that her hands were shaking even though they weren't touching anything was also worrying to say the least. Ralsei knew Noelle well enough by now to know when something was bothering her and this time seemed no different from any other occasion where Noelle was upset about something; so instead of questioning her right away, he decided to try and cheer her up first before trying to find out what exactly made her sad in the first place... Ralsei's plan worked as Noelle's smile returned in full force once again.
"Well," Ralsei began with an excited tone in his voice, "I'm glad I could make you laugh!" Ralsei's cheerful demeanor made Noelle break into a big grin, "You're amazing Ralsei... You always can lighten my mood." She said with a warm smile on her face, which made Ralsei blush slightly in response. He felt himself smiling more than usual too because of Noelle's compliment. Ralsei had been friends with Noelle for a while now but it wasn't until recently that their friendship grew stronger after they started hanging around together a lot. Ever since then, they have gotten along better every day and Ralsei has learned many things from her that he never would've known if Ralsei didn't start talking to her regularly. They were both very curious creatures who loved learning new facts about each other and the world they lived in. Ralsei had noticed that Noelle was rather shy and quiet when he first met her but he soon realized she was just afraid to open up to others and let them know how much fun and interesting person she was; Ralsei knew this all too well from experience and he wanted to help Noelle overcome her fear so that everyone could get to see what an amazing girl she really is deep down inside... { TYPE: Long-form story * M2 }

Thinking about all the clues in canon that Susie is an orphan who, before the game started, never had any friends or anyone who really cared about her (with their care for her being known to her), such as:
— At the beginning of Chapter 2, Ralsei reveals that he has set up rooms for Susie and Kris in his castle, so that the Dark World can be like “a second home” to them. When Susie sees her room, she spends a moment marveling about how she has her own room and awkwardly asks Ralsei how long he spent setting it up for her. After that, she’s overjoyed about how cool it is, bragging about it to both Kris and Lancer. While it could be that she just likes the room, the emphasis she puts on it being her own room makes it seem like this might be the first time she’s ever had a room to herself. Which, to be fair, Kris shared their room with Asriel as well, but the room Kris shared with Asriel was still their room, at least on one side of it. If Susie is from a group home, it could be that she never even had that much to herself.
— Susie seems to care greatly for Toriel, but in Chapter 1 also seems a bit jealous of Kris for being Toriel’s child. In Chapter 1, after Susie threatens Kris about biting their face off, she stops and says, “Nah. Kris, you have a good mother. It’d be a shame to make her bury her child.” If you try to skip school instead of going to the closet after that, Susie stops Kris by saying, “If you skip school, your mother will have a heart attack.” In both cases, Susie is expressing care for Toriel’s emotional well-being; however much Susie might not care for others, she does care about Toriel enough to not want to stress her out. Keeping in mind that all of this happens before the first Dark World trip, it can’t be explained away by Susie’s character development like Susie’s eagerness to bake a pie with Toriel (and otherwise adherence and respect that she shows for Toriel) in Chapter 2 can.
But going along with that, when you follow Susie to the closet in Chapter 1, Susie mocks Kris by saying, “Not used to walking without someone holding your hand? Come on, freak.” Given the respect and care Susie has already shown for Toriel, it’s clear that her mocking of Kris here is not because Kris should be ashamed for holding Toriel’s hand; rather, it could be jealousy that Susie doesn’t have someone to do that for her, and perhaps never did. It’s easier to call Kris a freak for having a loving mother who holds their hand than it is to admit that she wishes she had the same.
As a final note on the Chapter 2 interactions, Susie is surprised that Toriel knows her name and remembers her. This, in addition to her eagerness to help out with the pie, her laughing at Toriel’s jokes, etc, shows that Susie has a fondness for Toriel, who is the most motherly character in the series. Considering that Toriel acts kind and motherly toward Susie, the idea that Susie might not have never had a mother (+ people to care about her) suggests that her fondness for Toriel (+ jealousy of Kris) contributes to how quickly she latches onto / how much she cares about Toriel.
— Susie eats chalk, and while this could be a “haha monster snack” joke, not only do we not see other monsters eating chalk (in fact, Noelle thinks Kris is lying to her if you choose to tell Noelle this about Susie at the end of Chapter 1), but eating chalk can be a sign of a nutrient deficiency. Specifically, craving chalk can be a result of an iron deficiency. If Susie is an orphan who hasn’t had parents to take care of her, then she could have an unbalanced / nutritionally deficient diet, and thus she does things like eat chalk in an effort to make up for it. (Her jeans are also ripped up, and while distressed jeans are cool, it’s also possible those are the only pants she has.)
— While the other kids in Alphys’ class openly detest Susie (e.g. laughing at Kris for being paired with her, warning Kris about possible death at Susie’s hands, refusing to hang out with Kris if Kris is hanging out with Susie, etc), Monster Kid tells a story to Kris in Chapter 1 that suggests that, at one time, Susie might have wanted to be friends with them. Specifically, if you talk to Monster Kid at the end of Chapter 1, Monster Kid tells Kris about a time when the kids from Alphys’ class (sans Kris) were playing kickball in the street. MK says that Susie was “standing in a corner” staring at them, but that when the ball did get kicked over to her, she froze before kicking it so hard that it hit Undyne’s car. Monster Kid doesn’t say what Susie did after that (only that Alphys came out and kicked all their asses at the game), but does go on to insult Susie some more, and notes that Kris looks increasingly annoyed at the insults. Regardless, the thing to take away from this story here is that Susie was watching all the other kids play, and froze when the ball came to her. She kicked it . . . and it hit Undyne’s car. Monster Kid’s retelling of the story suggests that they and the other kids thought that Susie did that on purpose, but my interpretation (knowing Susie as I do now, and also knowing what it’s like to watch other kids play while not feeling invited to play yourself) suggests that it was probably an accident. Susie wanted to play and be included, but accidentally kicked the ball into the car, and was thought of as a freak and bully after despite her actual intentions.
— To that end, at the start of Chapter 1 Susie is pretty blatantly of the opinion that everyone hates her and wants her to get kicked out of school. She flat out says as much to Kris in front of the lockers at the start of the chapter. (“Everyone wants it. Everyone’s waiting for it.”) It’s not only the other students, either; Alphys is afraid of Susie and uses any opportunity she can to get Susie out of class, which would explain why Susie doesn’t hold nearly the same care or respect for her that she does for Toriel, someone who actually did care about and treat Susie with kindness.
— Susie expresses shock when Lancer wants to be like her / wants to be her friend, and in turn, latches onto him with fierce loyalty that is only momentarily shaken when she thinks he’s betrayed her (and she even reasons that with, “why would anyone want to be my friend?”). That line, suggesting that she feels stupid for thinking Lancer would want to be her friend, points to a friendless background. But her fierce loyalty to anyone who shows her even a bit of kindness also shows just how incredibly lonely she is. In fact, if we think about it, the people who Susie latches onto are those who have shown her some big act of kindness before:
Noelle: Lent Susie the candy cane pencil and smiled at her. Considering how the other kids in Alphys’ class treat Susie, the simple act of lending a pencil with a smile probably seemed like a huge act of kindness to her.
Toriel: Acts motherly toward Susie, as she does with all her students. Might not be special treatment in the grand scheme, but it’s special to Susie who typically doesn’t get that treatment from others.
Lancer: Said that he wanted to be like Susie, that he found Susie cool, wanted monogrammed track jackets with her, etc. Actually wanted to be Susie’s friend and appreciated her.
Kris: Defended Susie from the King’s attack. Note that although Susie was working with Kris before this, she wasn’t to the level of calling Kris her friend before Kris defended Susie. Also note that this is not an action that we, the player, make Kris do; Kris does it on their own regardless of the choices the player makes.
Ralsei: Healed Susie’s injured leg after Susie fell from the trash heap in Chapter 2. Granted, Susie was being nice to Ralsei before that and seemed to consider him a friend (enough), but it was only after Ralsei went out of his way to heal Susie’s injury and offered to teach her healing magic that she yoinked him off to spend time alone with him in the city and wanted to bust out of prison to find him when she thought he was being tortured in Queen’s Castle. Ralsei showed Susie some dedicated kindness, Susie latched on for life.
The fact that it takes on gesture of care on someone else’s part for Susie to be willing to kill for a person suggests that not only has Susie not had friends before, but perhaps that her feelings of loneliness were mixed with rejection to the point where she latches on fiercely to these people who care for her and doesn’t let them go.
— In addition to all this, although Susie latches on strongly, she also seems to be worried about losing those connections, too. When Lancer seemingly betrayed her, she said “why would anyone want to be friends with me?” When they returned from the Dark World, Susie hesitantly asks Kris if they’ll still be friends even if it turns out the Dark World was just a dream (well, she doesn’t finish the thought, but it’s clear that’s what she was about to ask before she fled). In the Snowgrave Route, when Noelle flees Kris at the hospital, Susie assumes Noelle is fleeing because of her and expresses dismay that Noelle is “scared of [her] again.” Susie’s default is that people fear or hate her and will run at the first opportunity despite how she tries to keep them close, which again speaks to a history of loneliness and rejection.
— Susie got banned from Free Ham Sandwich Day. This is a throwaway joke line, but if you consider that Susie might be an orphan with food insecurity, it could be less that she was just stuffing her face to be a pig and more that she was eating as much as she could because she didn’t know when she’d be able to eat again. Considering that she also eats things like chalk, candy cane pencils, apple-scented shampoo, and moss . . . well, the idea that Susie is food insecure doesn’t seem too far-fetched. (Kris also eats moss if the player makes them, yes, but the player has to choose that. Susie just does it on her own.)
Anyway, none of this is Conclusive Evidence, of course, but I think there’s a lot to suggest that Susie could very well be an orphan possibly living in a group home, and that she’s never really had the love of family or friends before the game started. Her aggression is defensive aggression more than anything else and it’s pretty clear that she just wants to be loved and give love in return. Susie’s fantastic and I can’t wait to see what more we learn about her as the game goes on.

Is My Life of Value? (Noelle & Zhongli Fanfic)
Noelle paused as she reached out for the cup of water on the counter. Dejected at the thoughts consuming her mind, she gripped the air tightly before lowering her hand.
As she glimpsed at the waters reflection, she saw her distraught expression looking back at her.
This was her eighth time taking the exam to become a knight of Favonius, and again, she had failed it. This time, Jean had come up to her to explain why she had failed.
“Though you have all the traits of a wonderful knight Noelle, you are a tad too reckless when it comes to yourself. A knight must treasure themselves, and value their own lives while aiding others. I wish for you to take this time to truly think about the value of your life, and not just everyone else’s. You’re special too, I only wish you could see that.” Jean said.
Noelle held her head as she kept thinking about it. Was she really that reckless? She only wished to give her all when it came to her aspirations. She didn’t think that was a bad thing.
But that had been exactly what kept her back from becoming a knight.
She sighed before heading outside of the shed to gaze at the sunset dipping lower into Teyvat. Gripping both her hands anxiously, she desperately looked around in vain to see if there was anyone in need of her help. Straining her ears, she tried to hear any horses footsteps, or a cry for help that she can assist with. But no one uttered her name, only the sounds of snoring from a boar who laid near a tree.
Shoulders drooping, she sighed deeply and decided that maybe she needed a walk to clear her head.
As the light from the sun diminished, the stars took its place to guide Noelle in her walk. Dandelions wavered in the air with its luminous blue glow, and Noelle finally stopped at the end of a giant cliff.
“Acting grand master Jean had told me to take some time off to rest and figure things out. I should do as she says since it is her order, however…” Breathing in another heavy sigh, Noelle sat down at the edge and let the wind rustle gently past her cheeks.
Her perfect posture made her sit upright, hands automatically folding itself on top of each other, neatly resting above her lap. The breathtaking view of Mondstadt filled her eyes as her mind wandered.
Did anyone call her name in hopes that she would arrive? Did someone feel an ache of disappointment, as she did, that she was no longer available to help them in their moment of need?
“…It is…quite lonely when I’m not doing my duties within Mondstadt.” she whispered.
She missed the feeling of being needed. Being wanted.
“Am I naive in thinking that chasing after your dreams without stopping is the right way to go?” She wondered out loud.
Keep your eyes on your goal and never stop working to get it. If you slack off, you’re being lazy. Never stop racing towards your dreams. Those had been the messages that came through while growing up as a child.
Is it possible those messages have been always wrong? She thought.
“Sigh…”
Closing her eyes, Noelle let herself go and flopped to the ground. The grass tickled the sides of her face as she listening to the rustling of the trees. All of it had somehow started to calm her raging thoughts.
It had been years since she rested like this. The only time she had done so was before her dreams ignited within her chest, as a child to be a knight. Ever since then, she had read hundreds of books about knights and their moral code.
Every time she read about them, the words had fanned the flames of her passion higher than it did before.
As her consciousness started fading, she felt a tug deep within her guiding her to another direction.
Looking around the dream, Noelle heard a sigh, and a slight whisper. She didn’t understand the context of the words, though the voice sounded oddly familiar.
“That old blockhead sure likes to put me to work even though there’s no wine to be exchanged for it.” It muttered.
‘Huh?’ Noelle voiced.
“Ah well, it’s not much work anyway. Well then, have a good talk Noelle! And next time, drink some wine with your friends! Wouldn’t want you to end up the same as that workaholic.” It sang, before a flash of light appeared and faded.
Out of habit Noelle shielded her eyes and blinked rapidly, only to find her breath escaping her.
‘Wow.’ She exclaimed.
All around her she saw pools of water and a low, wide tree centered on the small patch of land that she was standing on top of. Near her, a stone table stood with ceramic cups filled with herbal tea.
“Come child.” A voice called out.
Gasping in surprise, she snapped her head to look at the source of the voice and saw a tall gentleman with long brown hair and amber eyes. He gave a small smile and gestured her to sit.
For some reason, she found herself easily doing so.
In normal instances, she would have refused and instead asked if he required assistance before serving up some snacks.
He chuckled as if he knew what was going through her mind.
“I heard that the exam didn’t go quite as you wished.” he stated.
A pout began to form as Noelle’s lips puckered out. ‘It didn’t go well at all! Though I got everything right.’ She slumped in her seat.
‘From the physical aspects to the written parts, I’m sure I aced everything! But… I failed because master Jean said I didn’t care for my life well enough. But isn’t knights supposed to be able to put their lives on the line anyway to serve?’ She moped, hanging her head low.
A part of her was dumbfounded that she was suddenly acting like this but she couldn’t stop revealing her true feelings to the stranger. It was quite baffling.
The stranger didn’t seem to mind though as he smiled and gave a hearty chuckle.
“You have a strong sense of duty and loyalty to Mondstadt. That is what I quite liked about you, which is why I gifted you your vision.” he said nonchalantly. Bringing the cup close to his lips, he breathed in the scent of hot green tea.
Under normal circumstances, Noelle would have opened her eyes wide in shock at the revelation that the person in front of her was the Geo Archon. But whether it was the fact that they were meeting in a dream or not, she remained calm, accepting the situation easily.
Picking up her own cup, she followed Morax and breathed in the tea before drinking it. The warm taste of green tea penetrated her being and strangely put her in a calmer mood despite her misgivings.
While staring at the tea’s reflection, she found that the knots holding her complicated emotions tightly in a knot were slowly unwinding itself.
‘I don’t understand… Why is my life important if others may benefit from my actions, especially if Mondstadt finds itself in dire need of my assistance? As long as I am okay with it, is it not fine to continue the way it is?’ She pondered.
There was a moment of silence as Morax stirred his cup. He closed his eyes before lifting his arm. The air behind him shimmered before revealing the knights of Favonius headquarters.
In there, Jean and Kaeya were in a hushed discussion with each other. Jean’s face was furrowed with concern while Kaeya had his arms crossed but tried his best to comfort the acting grand master.
“She’s going to be fine Jean. The doctor said she will live, and that Noelle didn’t suffer from frostbite. Just need a few days rest and she’ll be back up ready to take on the world as always.” Kaeya reassured. He flashed her a charming smile but a corner of it twitched.
That didn’t escape Jean’s eyes and she just sighed with worry. She didn’t want to be acting like this but she had no one else to express her concerns to.
“She took on a reckless mission all by herself. What made her think that it was okay to do this without telling us?! Noelle barely had enough water and food as she went up into the mountains, and continued on even though her armor iced over after discovering the missing man.” She sighed.
Rubbing her face with both hands, Jean felt the stress building back up at the memory of Noelle nearly collapsing in front of Mondstadt gates. Jean had been making her rounds with Lisa when a guard yelled out in shock. Everyone had turned around to look expecting an attack, but found Noelle in the distance pushing herself to carry the man back through Mondstadt walls.
Everyone had ran to help her but it was as if Noelle couldn’t see them. Her eyes hazy and breathing haggard, she kept muttering that she’ll make sure that they both arrive home safe. For the man to hold on for his family. That it will be warm soon. She kept repeating those lines over and over, and those around her found it hard to make Noelle let go of the man on her back.
Kaeya suddenly stepped in and grasped Noelle by the shoulders before leaning in. “Welcome back. You did well Noelle, thank you for your services. Because of you, both you and Nimrod will live to see another day. Now let go of him, we will take care of the rest.” he said.
Transfixed on the voice speaking to her, Noelle lost grip of Nimrod and like a puppet with their strings cut, collapsed into his arms.
Jean felt thankful for Kaeya though she wondered how he knew that’d work.
The scene changed, and an image of Noelle unconscious on a patient bed appeared. Klee was looking concerned at how red Noelle was. Though red was her favorite color, she didn’t like it on Noelle like this.
Rummaging through her bag, Klee happily brought out a slightly crisp fish. She placed it on a plate that she brought out separately and left it on a counter before sitting up on the hospital chair.
“You need to get better so that we can go get some more fish together okay? Don’t tell master Jean, but I have the perfect spot to go to so that we can get a fresh meal! Fish is the just the best!” Klee exclaimed loudly.
There was no response from Noelle as Klee nestled her head onto the bed next to Noelle’s hand. Klee gently grasped the unconscious maid’s hand as she closed her eyes.
“Wake up soon so that we can together. I’ll even stay inside just for you, so that we can go together later. So please, wake up soon.” Klee whispered.
And with that the images from the past ended. Noelle stared stunned in silence. The Geo Archon had brought up a past incident and the reminder that she had worried people stung her conscience.
“You wish to charge in without rest and regard to your own life. As heroic as that may sound, it is not the way a knight should live.”
Morax set down his cup and looked into Noelle’s wavering eyes.
“Were it any of them marching through the dangerous winters of Dragonspine, would you also not fret for their lives?” he questioned. Noelle’s face flushed with guilt as she started understanding.
“Though there will always be situations where one puts their lives at risk for the safety of others, it is not ideal to completely disregard it.”
Bringing the cup to his lips once again, Morax sipped on the remainder of the tea.
“A knight is a citizen of their country. And what good country would want to needlessly throw away the lives of their citizens?”
Refilling his cup, Morax watched as Noelle looked down once again. A kind smile formed on his face.
“It is good to have the spirit of a knight, however, do not forget that you are a individual. Your life isn’t just yours once you build connections as well. There will be those that grieve for you, and those who will happily share their moments in life with you.”
He got up and stopped in front of Noelle. Reaching out, Morax patted her head tenderly like a father would with their daughter.
“Do take care to enjoy those moments yourself, and to share your times of suffering as well. Enjoy life, and you will shine like gold in the memories of both yourself and others.”
Closing his eyes he gave one last smile. “Now awaken and go home.”

Chapter 13:
Anchors Away
Clay was bored, wandering around the mall with nothing to do. Thomas was at practice, Noelle was at work at the aquarium. He was alone again and he really didn’t like it. Leo was busy cleaning the apartment for his mom who is showing up later tonight and Reg was hanging out at the rink.
Clay thought about going to the rink but everytime he goes for longer than 20 minutes he gets a head cold. He was walking past a recently closed store and heard faint music coming from inside. He walked in and noticed a small table set up with two men who were jokingly singing along to the song.
Clay took note of all the posters around the small store.
‘Feeling like you need a purpose in life?’ Yeah, he does. Everyone around him is doing actual things with their lives. Reg has started going to art school for errotic photography and portraits. Leo has been selling horses over video calls with rich clients and helping his mother set up times for the clients to go down and visit the horses at the ranch. Obviously, the hockey boys are playing hockey. Noelle is a year away from graduating and was recently promoted, and Clay just kind of existed…
Leo jokingly called him a houseboy when he mentioned how he just stays at home and cleans, now that's all he is ever called by Leo and Reg and it really makes Clay feel worthless. He knows they don’t mean anything by it but…. It still stings.
He moves on to the next poster. “Want financial benefits, healthcare, and more?”
That would be nice, to make his own money for once instead of his parents randomly filling his account with too much money. Something he knows he shouldn’t complain about but he wants to make a name for himself.
‘Join the U.S Navy.’ He paused, he doesn’t know a lot about his birth family, but he does know they were in the military. He has no clue which branch and he knows if he asked his parents they would help him in a heartbeat. But maybe this was a way to find out on his own.
He left the mall feeling lighter, a pep in his step.
He just enlisted in the navy. He was going to make something of himself and maybe even feel like he isn’t just watching his friends and partners pass him by.
Then it hit him, the one thing Leo and him promised each other they would never do is join the military. Because they both know how it fucks people up. Leo lost his uncle, and Clay’s dad lost his own father to PTSD from not having proper care after. Maybe he just screwed up…. But there was no going back now. He wouldn’t.
Walking in the house, Noelle was looking beautiful. She was wearing a pair of sweats rolled up twice at the waist and one of Clay’s old ratty t-shirts. Her curly hair was in her normal ponytail and she was putting on her sneakers. She looked tired from work.
Earlier in the week when Clay and Leo announced Eloise was coming to visit for a few days Noelle started stressing immediately. She has always worried about meeting parents because they always seem to dislike her when they first lay eyes on her, she blames it on her chronic RBF. Clay reassured her that Eloise would love her and actually already loves her from all the stories Clay has told her on her weekly calls.
Eloise was coming tonight, fuck! It was his birthday today and he forgot to mention it! Oops...
Thomas was sitting next to her, freshly showered in his own sweats and t-shirt looking relaxed, he was wearing some socks with little hamsters on them that Clay found for him a while ago. It made his heart jump and he felt his face stretch into a smile. He was scrolling through his phone and Thomas’ whole face opened up in a bright smile as soon as he saw Clay. He made Clay feel so special in a specific way, a way that is so different from how Noelle does and he loves them both.
He needs to tell them that.
“I have something to tell you guys… honestly, I don’t know how you will react but what's done is done.” He puts his hands in his jean pockets and taps the hell of his boots to the toe of his other boot. He was fidgeting and knew the other two noticed. It made him even more nervous.
“That doesn’t sound like good news.” Thomas looks at him a bit worried. His smile was still there but it fell slightly and Clay just wanted to fix it. He noticed Noelle had paused stomping on her shoes, oddly similar to Logan, it made him want to stop what he was going to say but… communication is important!
“Well, I first need you guys to promise me something, then I will make Finn and Logan promise the same thing when we see them because I know I will have to tell them.” He has to tell them, so they are ready for Leo just, not being okay.
And it was all gonna be Clay’s fault.
“What's the promise?” Noelle finishes putting on her shoe and looks up at him. She is trying her best to keep her face neutral but he could tell the wheels were turning in her brain.
“Do not tell Leo, I need to be the one to tell him… and I know he isn’t going to react well. Same goes for Reg but I will probably tell him a lot sooner than Leo.” He keeps on switching his feet that he is tapping and finally looks at them.
It’s now or never.
“I enlisted in the navy today.”
“Okay, Reg and I are going to pick up Ma and then we will be right back!” Leo has been all smiles all day. Finn knew he was close to his mom but this is just adorable.
“Drive safe!” Leo and Reg wave as they leave the apartment and as soon as the door closes Clay is standing in front of Finn and Logan who are snuggled together on the couch. Logan was wrapped up in Leo’s favorite blanket that his grandpa made for him before he passed away. It was a woven blanket with an image of Peanut on it. That blanket has seen Leo and Clay in their worst moments.
He was surprised Logan wasn’t scared of it given his fear of horses.
“Alright you two, I need to tell you something and it needs to be kept secret from Leo and Reg, if you so much as tell them a peep I will never forgive you. That will make family reunions super awkward.” Finn looks up from his phone where he and Logan were reading the comments on their latest tiktok on their joined account.
“Don’t look at me.” Finn raises his hand on surrender and looks at Logan who rolls his eyes annoyed and snatches Finn’s phone away to keep reading the comments.
“I enlisted in the navy-” Clay didn’t even get the full sentence out before Logan had thrown the phone down on the cushion next to him and Finn covered his mouth with his hand looking shocked.
“YOU DID WHAT?”
“Mama!” Leo hugs Eloise tightly as she drops her bags to hug him back. “How was the flight?” He squeezes her tightly before noticing her new hearing aid is flashing is three blinks then a pause and three more blinks. “I think your hearing aid is dying. Make sure to charge them when we get home.” She either ignores him or doesn’t hear him even though she can normally hear him this close.
“Rick was a great pilot as always, even let me bring y’all some moonshine he made. It's watermelon and raspberry!.” Eloise pulls away after one last squeeze and sees Reg and her smile widens. “Reg! I’m so happy you’re here!” She waits for him to open his arms as an invitation to hug him so she knows he is comfortable with her touching him and she does as soon as he opens his arms. Tighter than she did Leo. “Have you been eating well? How about sleeping? Did you ever enroll in college?”
“Yes, yes and yes.” Reg can’t help but laugh when she picks him up still hugging him and sways him around. He isn’t used to this much affection from a mother figure but… they love it.
“I’m so proud of you for following your dream.” She pulls away and smiles at him with a sincere smile and brushes his hair back. “Your hair looks nice by the way.”
“Thank you.” Reg and Leo help her with her bags and pack them into the truck and drive the short way back to the apartment. Talking about everything and anything. The door man sends a wink Eloise’s way and she holds up her left hand where her wedding ring is. Letting him know she is taken. Walking up to the apartment they smell an odd smell through the door and everyone shares a look.
“I promise it doesn't normally smell this way unless… oh no.”
“What does that mean!?” She leans over to Reg to whisper as Leo fiddles with his key in the lock.
“It means Finn and Logan tried to cook something.” Reg whispers to Eloise as Leo opens the door, Clay was the first to greet them, smiling his million dollar smile he hugs Elosie so tight it surprises her.
“Hello Bluebell! I was surprised I didn’t see you at the airport. How are you doing sweetheart! Twenty years old today! You’re all growing up so fast.” She kisses his forehead and they pull apart. “You look good. Your mother wants you to call her later tonight so she can sing happy birthday.”
“It's your birthday!” Noelle pipes up and looks at Clay offended. “And you didn’t tell us!” He cringes before turning to her.
“Oh, I guess I forgot.” He walks over to her and kisses her cheek while Eloise puts her hand on her chest from just how cute they are.
“Seems like that should have been the first thing you told us this morning instead of, ‘ I feel like a jellyfish’.” Thomas laughs a little and kisses both Noelle and Clay’s cheeks. “So cute.”
“It slipped my mind!”
“Okay, what is that smell?” Leo leads Eloise towards the kitchen after she is done fawning over how cute those three are. Finn and Logan are suspiciously standing in the way of the countertop right next to the stove. “What are you hiding?”
Finn turns bright red and Logan looks anywhere but Leo. Eloise sets her purse on the counter and walks over to them, giving them both kisses on the cheek.
“What did you make us?”
“Well… we tried to make a cake from your cookbook-”
“It didn’t go very well.” They both move to the side to reveal a lopsided cake with some diluted frosting dripping off and random coconut flakes floating around on it. “Can you at least tell what it is?” Logan casually turned the plate so the ‘good side’ was facing Leo and Eloise.
“Umm… not really. Do you mind just telling us?” Eliose was examining the cake, trying to figure out what cinnamon cake she had in her cookbook. None that she can remember.
“Something called,” Finn walks over to the book and notices Clay and Reg standing to the side with their phones up and probably recording. “Divinity Cake.” The room was suddenly really still and quiet. Eloise looked like she was about to cry and Leo was just staring at the cake in shock.
Then Eloise brokedown in laughter, to the point where she was laughing so hard she was on the ground holding her stomach and crying. Finn and Logan were visibly confused and looked to Leo for an explanation, only to find him trying to conceal his laughter in the crooks of his arm.
“Oh my god! What is so funny?” Logan looks at the cookbook and then back at the cake. It looked terrible but they tried their best! They didn’t burn the house down at least.
“Oh my lovely lovely boys.” Leo wraps an arm around both their shoulders and pulls them in close so they are all cheek to cheek for a moment. “Divinity cake is usually cooked for your in-laws in the south.. To prove you are worthy of being a good wife.” explains through his laughing breaks. “This is amazing.”
Eloise eventually stands up and dabs her eyes so she doesn’t smear her makeup. Pulling the two embarrassed boys into a tight hug. “Y’all are so sweet. Thank you for the cake.” She gives them both sloppy kisses on the cheeks and then pats where she just kissed. “Alright I’m going to put my things in the guest room and then we can cook something up for y’all to eat.” She smiles and takes most of her bags to the guest room but forgets her purse. “Finn, would you be a dear and grab my purse for me?” She calls out and Finn being the sweetheart he is, grabs the bag and tries to take it with him as he walks past.
The bag won’t budge, Leo is watching with a smile on his face and his arms crossed. Finn tugs at the bag again and eventually gets it off the counter, it nearly knocks him over with how heavy it is. He scurried to Eloise’s room and gave it to her. She holds it like it’s nothing.
He makes his way back over to Leo and sinks into his chest, his face buried in his neck. Logan is still poking the cake, showing off just how gelatinous it is. Clay and Reg are comparing videos that they took and laughing at how they zoomed in on different faces. Sending them to each other.
“I’m sorry we messed up the cake.” Finn looks up at Leo and sees the sweetest little smile, showing his dimples off. Finn has noticed Leo’s tan from the summer is fading and it is making the small scar across his nose more prominent. It was cute.
“Honestly, it’s better than anything else y’all have made. Plus, now Mama can teach you how to make it the right way for the next time she visits.” Leo kisses his eyebrow and wraps his arms around him as Finn pouts even more. Logan eventually makes his way over and rests his head on Leo’s shoulder.
“Maybe it still tastes good?” He closes his eyes and rubs his cheek on Leo’s soft shirt and tough shoulder, massaging his jaw muscles. His arms are crossed.
“We can try it afte Mama and I make some food, how about y’all pick out what you want so she can put on her mini cooking show.” Leo feels the boys lean off of him and smiles as he watches them pour over each page of the book looking for a meal they want.
“Alright, I’m ready to cook.” Eloise comes back into the room and gathers everyone so they are sitting on the other side of the counter, unless they are Reg or Leo because they are allowed to help cook. Finn and Noelle have taken the two seats while Clay and Thomas are on either side of them watching and Logan is in between them.
They all watch as Eloise explains what she is doing in hopes it helps them understand and make them want to try and make this on their own. Logan gets in trouble for focusing on Leo instead of what she is teaching and she gives him a smirk.
“You remind me a lot of Wyatt, you know that? Around the same height too.” She smiles as she fiddles with her ring after she washed her hands to get the rest of the flour off her hands. Leo is watching the food in the oven as he leans against the counter and nods in agreement with her.
“I do?” Logan looks at her a little confused, he sadly never got the chance to meet Wyatt but he always pictured him as more of the strong and silent type who was also tall, giving Leo his extra few inches of height.
“He was 5’10 and the sweetest man I have ever met, he was goofy and carefree like Finn and always had this hard look in his eyes like you do. Unless he was looking at Leo or I, or in your case Leo. Please don’t look at me like that.” Leo snorts and smiles.
“That would be kinda weird.” He turns his head over his shoulder and smiles at his boys. “Why don’t we tell them some stories about dad? I never really talk about him because… well, it still hurts.” Eloise smiles a little sad at her son and gives his arm a comforting squeeze. Her love language.
“Well, he was in the air force.” She notices Clay looking away, Noelle suddenly looks uncomfortable and Thomas looks a little sad. Something was off. “He and his twin brother Wess joined at the same time, and flew fighter jets together. His brother was shot down and Wyatt made Leo promise to never join. After he came back he vowed to never leave again. He kept his promise.” She smiles at the image of him coming home still fresh in her mind. “He was in love with music, sometimes I think he loved music more than us. He tried to get Leo to learn how to play instruments but the poor boy is so tone deaf he couldn’t figure anything out.” She laughs a little as Leo smiles. “I remember when Leo was being taught the guitar Wyatt would be thrown into laughing fits when Leo would play the wrong chords and smile up at him like he just did something.”
“I thought I did!” Leo laughs a little and turns around to face everyone else. “Look It took me forever to learn rhythm, and now I can dance like there is no tomorrow… still can’t sing though.”
“Ahmen!” Clay pipes up and ducks as Leo throws a spoon at him.
“Shut up!”
“Wyatt did manage to teach Clay how to play fiddle somehow, do you still play?” Eloise checks the food in the oven and determines it's not done.
“I haven’t played since… yeah I haven’t played in a while.”
“He was so proud of you. Wyatt was also a sportsman. He loved sports, especially baseball. So when Leo came home and told Wyatt he joined the team, they went out back and played catch for, I don’t know, hours.”
“My arm was sore the next day.”
“He came to every single game of Leo’s besides one, and was his biggest fan. He made shirts with Leo’s player picture on them and wore them to every game. No matter how many times Leo begged him not to!” The timer goes off and Reg gets the food out of the oven.
“Is this done?” He asks, Eloise comes over to check and nods.
“Looks good! How about we eat?” She smiles and has everyone line up so she can dish it out for them.
Thomas and Noelle are getting ready to leave when Eloise asks Clay to join her outside. He gives them a worried look but follows her. Outside is cold, and there is a bit of snow on the railing of the balcony.
“Talk to me Clayton, something is wrong, I noticed it earlier.” She looks at him and taps her foot as he pulls out a cigarette and lights it. “Clayton.”
“I joined the navy, and I haven’t told Leo, and I ask that you don’t tell him either because he needs to hear this from me.” He is looking out at the traffic below so he doesn’t have to watch her face. He knows she is upset with him.
“Is that what you really want to do?” She walks up next to him and joins him in looking at the traffic. Clay has always admired how strong Eloise is, she has been through a hell of a lot and still has this calm and stable energy.
“Yes.”
“Then you made the right choice.” She turns and looks at him, smiling in a way that he knows is trying to hide her sadness. She ruffles his hair as he finishes his cig and puts it out on the bottom of his boot. “Have you told Noelle and Thomas?”
“Yeah.” He knows his short answers sound hostile but he wants to be away from this conversation.
“They support you?” She always makes sure he has support, it hurts sometimes. Like he can’t just get support himself and he always needs help.
“Yes.” She nods and walks back towards the door.
“Then you better spend as much time with them as you can.” She goes inside, leaving Clay to think about everything by himself.
It was dangerous.
He walks back inside and they leave. Noelle turns around from the passenger seat and smirks at Clay. He was in for a fun night.
“I’m off to bed boys, we have a busy day tomorrow!” Elosie kisses her boy's cheeks and walks to her room.
“I like you mom.” Logan says as he tackles Leo to the ground straddling his back with his scented markets in hand. He tugs at Leo’s shirt, he complies and takes it off. Logan has been dying to do this all day.
“I hope not too much!” Leo crosses his arms under his head until Finn sits down next to him and he pulls his thigh so it's underneath Leo’s head. Leo shivers as the cold marker hits his skin and Logan begins coloring.
“What other stories do you have about Wyatt?” Finn rubs his fingers over Leo’s short hair that has really grown out over the past month, it was starting to curl at the ends making Leo look sweet.
“He used to read to me when I was little, then when I was able to read I would read to him until he fell asleep and started snoring.” Leo smiles and Finn can feel it on his leg. “He was also my coach for little league baseball for a bit and he was great but not everyone liked that he was my dad. Other parents thought I was getting special treatment. Also he would argue with the umpires and get in trouble!” Leo bursts out laughing and Logan gorans.
“Leoooooooooo! Be still!” Leo calms down and lets Logan keep coloring the flowers of his back piece.
“Sorry sorry, I just remembered when he got kicked out of a game because an umpire called Clay out when he was safe. It was hilarious. He called the umpire a muppet.” Smiling Leo yawns and blinks a few times.
“You can fall asleep, we will wake you up and go to bed when Logan finishes.” Finn is scrolling on his phone and is petting Leo’s head as he feels it get heavier with sleep. Finn looks up at Logan after making sure Leo is asleep.
“We need to tell him we love him.”
“Yeah, we do.” They smile at each other and share a peck before going back to what they were doing.
The next morning Finn and Logan wake up with a Leo sized dent in the bed and not Leo. They wander out to the kitchen and get smacked in the face with the smell of blueberry pancakes. They float into the kitchen and smile at the sight. Eloise has her hair in curlers and is in a thick grey robe and Leo’s sweatpants because she doesn’t own a pair. Her face is free of makeup and it shows how well she has taken care of her skin over the years. She is flipping a couple of pancakes while Leo sips on some apple juice. Just chatting away about the plan for today.
“Okay so after family skate is the party at Pascal and Celeste’s.”
“I won’t be at family skate dear, I have some work to do today.” She puts the last pancake on a plate, making sure that each plate has two, she takes two plates over to the table while Leo carries the other two.
“Ma, you promised me you wouldn’t work while you were here.” He sighs and sets the plates down. He sighs and sits down, not noticing the other two people in the room, he starts poking at his pancakes with his cheek on his hand and elbow on the table. Sulking.
“I know sweetheart but these people are someone who your Daddy tried to sell to for years. They plan to get two mares and then I will be at the party. On time. I promise.” She puts the dishes from cooking in the sink and fills the pancake batter bowl with hot water before grabbing her cup of coffee and walking over to sit next to Leo.
Logan and Finn share a look. They shouldn’t be listening to this.
“Okay but, just please be there towards the beginning of the party. I want to introduce you to my-... the team.” Leo furrows his brow not understanding why he about called the lions his team, when he doesn’t even play hockey.
“I will try my best, Merigold.” She pats his hand and Logan and Finn make their entrance, yawning and stretching as they walk over to the table. “Morning boys.”
“Morning!” Finn smacks a kiss on Leo’s temple as he walks past and Logan does the same, taking their seats and chowing down.
Later that day Eloise was putting her hair in a ponytail as she checked to make sure there were no creases in her uniform. Well, it's not a uniform but what she likes her and Leo to wear when they go to sell.
A black tall-neck turtle neck with long sleeves and tight to the body. Some khaki colored riding pants with tall back socks and brown riding boots. Professional yet comfortable. She was selling to the Malfoy family today, the father is buying these mares for his sons wedding coming up. She is still convinced that they only want their mares because Wyatt is gone, making Knut horses more desirable.
They were in contact with Wyatt for years and were not very nice. She knows she needs to make this sale though. Walking out to the living room to grab her purse she sees Leo moping on the couch by himself. She sighs out of her nose, walking over to him and petting the top of his head.
“I promise I will be there tonight, with moonshine.” She smiles as Leo rolls his eyes.
“I trust you.” Then he stood and gave her good luck and a hug before walking back to his bedroom… not the master bedroom. She takes a deep breath and leaves the apartment.
The rink was cold, Leo was bundled up in his new coat, hat and gloves while rocking his normal jeans and boots. His brand new skates were in hand, not broken in so he was wearing two pairs of tall socks just to help against blisters. Clay actually owned a pair of skates and has been skating since he was younger because he has family in Montana that he would visit for the holidays.
Jerk.
Leo was sitting in Finn's stall just trying to stay warm while he watched Noelle tie one of Clay’s skates and Thomas tie the other. Leo had to admit, he was so happy for Clay, seeing him with that sappy smile makes Leo know that he’s okay. He never smiled like that with Ashley.
Logan walks over to him, completely ready to skate and looking good. He was wearing his favorite well worn sweats and Leo’s new thrifted sweater that was dark green, showing off his eyes. He was wearing his normal cap backwards and Leo has always found it funny that Logan will never wear a hat forwards.
“Ready to get laced up?” Leo nods and holds out a skate to Logan. “You’re very quiet right now, are you that cold?” Leo just narrows his eyes and gives a short nod. Logan shows him how to lace up and once his other skate is on he stands up and nearly falls over.
“This is going to be terrible… is there a dentist nearby? I have a tendency to fall teeth first into the ground.” Licking over his chipped tooth absentmindedly he looks around. There were kids running around in skates and jumping into other players arms. He smiles a bit and rests his elbow on Logan’s head who is wear much more worn down skates so Leo is a fucking giant to him. “You’re the perfect height.”
“Yeah yeah, lets watch you try and walk. Then we can find Finn who I’m guessing is talking to Syd.” Logan helps Leo take a few steps knowing Leo has no balance at all. In skates or not. He has witnessed this name trip over nothing.
“Whose Syd?” Leo starts walking on his own and feels like this isn’t so bad.
“My oldest sister. Aubry is here too. They also play professional hockey. So… don’t get on their bad sides.” Leo stops walking.
“You never mentioned your sisters will be here! I thought I was meeting them when we go to visit your parents in a week! Oh boy… Do they know about you and Finn?” Leo continues walking after Logan grabs his hand and leads him out of the tunnel.
“Yes they know about me and Finn, I told my family first because… well my parents love him and my sisters all had a bet so… yeah. But they don’t know about you because I didn’t know if you were ready for that.” Leo stops him before they completely exit the tunnel and presses him up against the wall, kissing him softly.
“Thank you.” Leo smiles when Logan does and they pull apart to see they are the last out of the tunnel. Walking out Leo stops in front of the ice. “Yo, I don’t know if I have enough ego to let me fall face first onto the ice in front of a whole hockey team yet.”
“What, you aren’t up for the challenge?” Clay skates right up to him, not as seamless as everyone else but still pretty well. He has this challenging look in his eyes and Leo knows exactly what is going to happen. “I knew you weren’t good at everything.” Leo launches himself at LCay who skates out of the way just in time for Leo to miss and barely holds himself up as he glides across the ice.
“Clay! When I get my hands on you, I swear!” Then he falls flat on his ass and gorans laying down, staring at the ceiling annoyed. This sucks.
Clay is having an absolute field day, Laughing his ass off as he skates up to Leo and helps him stand. Patting his back for a moment and letting Leo get his balance he then pushes him over and skates away.
“CLAYTON!” Leo falls basically into a middle split and it distracts Finn from his conversation with Logan and his sisters, hitting Logan’s chest until he looks over at Leo who is still being taunted by Clay and now Reg.
“I didn’t know he could do that.” They share a look and both seem to get ideas around the same time because their faces get all reg and they high five.
“Who is that?” Sydney is readjusting her hat as she looks at Leo. “He’s a cutie, I wouldn’t mind getting a piece of that.”
“Agreed. He is really handsome.” Aubry nods in agreement and Logan is suddenly possessive. He glares at them.
“Back off, he’s mine!” He crosses his arms and turns his attention back to Leo who is now talking to Katie who has made herself at home on his leg. Leo looks like he is trying his best not to shake from how cold he is.
“You have Finn, let us have our fun.” Aubrey hits his shoulder and skates over to Leo and Katie. “Need some help?” Katie smiles at her. Leo looks up at her and gives a shy smile because he is embarrassed. Nodding she holds out her hand, Katie grabs his other hand and helps him up. With Katie on one side and Aubry on the other, Leo starts more skating and less falling over.
“Awww they are so cuteeeee.” Sydney smiles at them and hears Logan grumble, looking at them annoyed and Finn is still snorting everytime Leo stumbles. But Finn has this look in his eyes that Sydney has only ever seen him give Logan. She hopes there isn’t anything shady going on between those three.
Eventually, Aubry and Leo stake back over to Finn, Logan and Sydeny who are all still chatting on the ice and sipping their hot chocolate that Celeste brought.
“Can I have a sip?” Logan holds up his cup over his shoulder to Leo’s lips, because Leo is behind him, and holds it as he takes a sip. “Mm, so yummy. I’ve never really had this before. Hot chocolate?” Leo doesn’t really drink warm drinks at all, even the coffee is normally cooled down to where it isn’t hot, sometimes iced.
“You should have Finn make you some, he is really good at it.” Finn kisses Logan's forehead and smiles.
“It’s like the one thing I learned how to make properly. Alex taught me! He is coming to the party later tonight if you want to meet him.”
“I’d love to meet him! Now, I’ve met Aubry. I’m guessing you are Sydney? Logan talks about you guys sometimes but I don’t know a lot.” Leo smiles at her and reaches his hand out to shake hers.
“You have a southern accent…” Aubry and her share a look.
Logan is definitely not keeping him from them.

Black Clover Beach Episode
🏝Captains & Wizard King + Marx Edition🏝
(The beach would be reserved for the captains and magic knights if there was an episode)
Julius Novachrono
Tumblr media
He would go diving in the deeper parts of the ocean to see creatures with mana, and witness what kind of magic they would use.
He may also go around the beach just mingling with people and talking about how they are doing and about their magic.
He would try and get Marx to have fun and get him to do cliche beach activities such as building a sandcastle or volleyball.
Marx Francois
Tumblr media
He would be the type to easily get a sunburn, so he would probably try and stay in the shade and watch over Julius from afar. (He’s too anxious to take his attention off of Julius)
He may also be running around trying to find Julius or stop him from doing crazy things and stressing himself out- like that one parent who is always telling their kids to be carful.
Even though he is not on duty, he still likes to be with Julius since he doesn’t click well with the other captains who are busy. And so he does try some of the cliche beach activities Julius suggests.
Yami Sukehiro
Tumblr media
He will be sitting on the side sunbathing with his Japanese-style fundoshi on, watching his squad from his spot on the beach. However, this doesn’t last long.
As soon as he sees Jack, they start some silly competition of either who can catch the most fish or who can slice up the most watermelons.
Him and Jack would probably get drunk on the beach near the end, and try to pick a fight with all the captains.
William Vangeance
Tumblr media
He would feel self conscious about his body and face being seen by magic knights from other squads and would spend some of his time sitting in the shade and watching everyone have fun.
Being a plant based mage, he may be weak to the heat and be enjoying some ice tea while he watches everyone.
Eventually Yami or Julius would come along and try to drag him into doing some activities. He would be uneasy about it at first, but finds himself having fun in the end.
Nozel Silva
Tumblr media
He actually quite enjoys the beach, but will never admit it. He will also never admit that he is worried that somehow Noelle might drown despite her magic being water.
As soon as Fuegoleon steps into the picture, he would chat with him before getting himself into a competition with him like who can make the best sandcastle or who would win at volleyball.
He would enjoy the non-formal food secretly, and would share a heart to heart conversation with Fuegoleon over some food.
Fuegoleon Vermillion
Tumblr media
He gets fired up as soon as they arrive, and passionately does every activity with all seriousness as well.
He would take the coach role in the volleyball games, yelling at both teams on what they should do which would improve the game.
At some point, he would have a competition with Nozel and starts to take it to another level. But at the end, they would shake hands and call it a good game.
Rill Boismortier
Tumblr media
He would set up a good location to start painting the ocean. He will do many paintings since the view is just beautiful to him and rare.
He will hang out with Charmy a lot since they trained together, and if she ever shows her human form, he will be trying to win her heart.
Apart from painting, he would take a lot of time inspecting the beach and gathering more inspiration for paintings.
Dorothy Unsworth
Tumblr media
She would just be sleeping throughout the whole thing. She would pick the best location to sleep on the beach such as under a palm tree or maybe in the sun.
Charlotte Rosei
Tumblr media
She would spend the first hour freaking out about showing herself to Yami after having picked out the best swimsuit to wear.
She may try to approach Yami and ‘flirt’ but fails every time. Her squad keeps trying to help her out but nothing seems to be working.
She does partake in some of the games, and ends up having fun at the beach with Sol and her own squad.
Jack the Ripper
Tumblr media
The first thing he’d do once getting there is picking a fight with Yami. Eventually getting him to engage in some kind of competition.
He does go around and like to cut people’s sandcastles saying it was ‘in the way’ as an activity, but he mostly enjoys the watermelon-slicing competition with Yami.
At the end of the day he’d get drunk with Yami and tease all the captains with him.
Kaiser Granvorka
(I can’t post a picture due to the 10 images limit)
He would be sitting down on the sidelines enjoying food at the beach the whole time, and maybe mingle with his squad from time to time.

You were the first
As I mentioned in this ask, I have polished up the fic I wrote live on discord. It's left at a bit of a cliff-hanger so I'll try not to leave it too long to write the second chapter, but I make no promises!
Anyway, have some Logan with his first boy crush.
CW: discovering sexuality and sexuality crisis
Rating: G
If you feel I need to add any content warnings or change the rating, please drop me a message!
Logan and Noelle are original characters from the sweater weather universe created by the wonderful @lumosinlove. All other characters in this fic are mine.
Logan tugged at his t-shirt, an expensive white thing that was more fitted than he was used to, scrutinizing his image in the mirror. He rose up onto the tips of his toes, giving a small sigh as he settled back down. He’d always been confident in his appearance, especially under the Nice sun, his hair a little lighter and his skin bronzing even more than usual, but he wished he was taller.
“Lo! Let’s go! I’m ready,” his sister called, appearing in the doorway to his bedroom a few seconds later. “Are you okay?”
Logan dismissed her concerns with a wave of his hand, figuring his ensemble of the white t-shirt and khaki shorts would have to do. “Does this look too prep school?” he asked, pulling on a pair of battered vans that he hoped would soften the outfit before joining Noelle in the hallway.
“Since when did you care about your appearance?” Noelle teased, pulling his cap over his eyes as he fell into step beside her.
I don’t,” Logan grumbled, adjusting the brim, shoving Noelle away from him. He twisted away from her retaliating shove with a chuckle, raising his hands in a truce at the top of the stairs before bounding down them. “Maman! Noelle and I are going out now!”
“Do you have sunscreen? And water?”
“Yes, Maman!” He and Noelle rolled their eyes at each other, waiting around only long enough to hear the affirmative reply from their mother telling them to be safe and back in time for dinner.
“So, what’s going on with you and this Hugo boy then?” Noelle asked as soon as the door shut behind them.
Logan glanced back towards the house anxiously, even though he knew nobody would have heard. He picked up his skateboard, dusting an imaginary piece of dirt from it before tucking it under his arm. “Nothing is going on, he asked me out and I said I wasn’t gay, simple,” Logan mumbled. “Why don’t you concentrate on your own love life?”
“Alright, there’s no need to get defensive,” Noelle clicked her tongue against the roof of her mouth. She strapped her board to her backpack, leaving her hands free to tap against her phone screen. “And my love life is very successful, thank you,” she added with a smirk that was begging for Logan to ask more.
“Oh yeah?” Logan latched onto the opportunity, glad to have the attention off of himself. “Is that who you’ve been texting all the time?” he chuckled, plucking Noelle’s phone from her hand. “What’s his name then?”
Noelle squealed, lunging for her phone, but Logan was too quick, looking at the message before she could grab it. “Oh,” Logan breathed, stumbling over his feet as he shoved the phone back at his sister. “Fuck, Noelle. I’m sorry. I shouldn’t -”
“Logan, it’s fine.” Noelle stopped, grabbing Logan by the shoulder so he halted as well. “Well, it’s not. You’re a little shit, but that’s what little brothers are for, right? Besides, you are so predictable. I was baiting you.”
Logan frowned, his features contorting into a picture of confusion. “What?”
“You’re such a dumbass,” Noelle laughed, shaking her head. “I wanted you to know.”
“You’re a dumbass,” Logan muttered. “So, Natacha, huh? That’s the blonde girl, right?”
Noelle looked at Logan pointedly, “That’s all you’ve got to say?”
“Uhh…Congratulations?” Logan shrugged.
Noelle sighed and started to walk again. “Yeah, she’s the blonde one.”
Logan jogged a few paces to catch up with her. He chewed at his lip, glancing over at his sister every few steps. She seemed so confident, like she knew exactly what she wanted. He tried to reassure himself that he was only 14, he wasn’t supposed to know what he wanted yet. That’s what all the websites said. Finally, he couldn’t bear the silence any longer, “Do maman et papa know?”
“Not yet,” Noelle hummed, “I’m not worried, I just -”
“Logan! Noelle!” their friend, Ibrahim, yelled as they entered the skate park. Logan looked towards Noelle, mouthing that they would finish the conversation later. “We were just talking about you.”
Noelle replied, but Logan didn’t hear what she said, his attention pulled by the tall boy standing just to the left of Ibrahim. He had light blonde hair that flopped over his eyes and he was shifting nervously between his feet. Hugo.
“Hello! Earth to Logan,” Noelle clapped her hands in front of his face. “I said we’re going to head over there and practice on the rails. Are you coming?”
Logan looked back to Hugo, wincing internally at the obviousness of the action. “No, I’m going to stay,” he pointed behind him to the small group of teens “here.”
Noelle looked at him, her lips making a funny manoeuvre that Logan had come to learn meant she was suppressing a laugh. “Okay.”
Then Noelle was gone, and Logan didn't know what to do with himself. These were the same friends he'd been hanging out with every summer for nearly a decade, but suddenly he seemed to have forgotten how to interact with them. Or rather, with him, with Hugo. He couldn’t pinpoint why he felt so awkward. Sure, the other boy had asked him out, but Logan was certain that wasn’t the problem. He didn't want to be that person, but he had other male friends who were attracted to guys and it had never been an issue before. Even when one of those friends had admitted to a crush on him, Logan had just told them politely he wasn't interested in them like that, and they'd moved on with their friendship. So why did his stomach feel like it was trying to turn itself inside out, right now? And why did he feel like he wouldn't be able to string an intelligible sentence together?
"Logan! What are you doing?" Ibrahim shouted, pulling Logan from his spiralling panic. He looked up to see the group had moved. "Hugo has finally got that combo he was working on down, and for some reason he can't wait to show you." Logan thought he heard something teasing in his friend's tone, but he squashed the thought. He looked over, meeting Hugo's shy smile and decided he could figure out whatever was going on in his head later. His friend wanted to show him a trick, and Logan wasn't a jerk, so he was going to go and watch.
Logan dug his fingers into the edge of his board, clutching it close to him as he approached his friends, the walk to the edge of the bowl they had gathered on seeming to take an age with all their eyes on him. "You've stopped falling on your ass then?" he grinned at Hugo, by way of greeting, proud that the words came out with the same smooth tone that he usually managed.
"Yeah," Hugo blushed. "I told you, practice makes perfect."
"I stand corrected," Logan huffed out a laugh. A red haired girl that Logan didn't know that well, mumbled something that he didn't quite catch, but carried a tone that he didn’t like. He spun around to ask her to repeat herself when she smiled and mounted her board, dropping over the edge of the bowl. Logan turned back to Hugo, but the boy was now looking towards the bowl, sending a glare after Lydia.
"Okay, let's not build this up too much,” Ibrahim threw his arm around Logan. “We’re going to be expecting some Tony Hawk skills at this point." Logan sent him a grateful smile, receiving a small squeeze in return.
"Lyds, we get it. You are fantastic! Now get out the bowl. I already shot - gunned," Hugo said, laughing as Lydia flipped him off after she had exited the bowl on the opposite side."
“Alright then, Hewie. The floor is yours. Let us see your mating dance," Lydia swept her arms in front of her in a grand gesture.
“Sorry about her,” Hugo cleared his throat, his face getting impossibly redder and scratching at the back of his neck. “I think she thinks she’s funny.”
“Don’t worry about it.” Logan hoped the smile he offered was comforting, even if it did feel somewhat tight. He could feel the stares of the others boring into his back as he inclined his head towards the bowl. "What are you waiting for? Show me what you can do.”
Hugo opened his mouth to respond, but seemed to decide better of it, shrugging his shoulders. A cocky smirk spread across his face before he gave a determined nod and dropped into the bowl. It was easy watching Hugo skate. Years of practise had led to a relaxed form, commanding the board with a simple confidence. Any shyness he'd been exhibiting a few moments ago had melted away. Logan wasn't the best skater, rarely picking his board up outside of the summers, so he was easily impressed by the way other people were able to keep their feet stuck to the deck like glue. However, there was something about the way Hugo's body moved, leaning into each turn and shifting his weight with such subtly, that felt different. Logan found himself holding his breath, knowing that the trick Hugo could never land was approaching. He didn't want to think about why the determined crease of Hugo's brow made the same odd feeling in his stomach from earlier reappear.
Hugo carved his way up the side of the bowl, until only one wheel ground against the coping. Logan leaned forward into the movement, expecting to hear the crash of the board against concrete, but it never came. Hugo glided seamlessly back down to the bottom of the bowl with a proud fist pump. A loud cheer escaped Logan's mouth before he even really registered it, the rest of his friends joining in to create a barrage of noise. Logan felt lighter than he had in weeks. Hugo showed off a few more tricks, before exiting the bowl. His skin had a pink flush to it, and his breath was coming in heavy pants, the heat of the afternoon sun making the exercise that bit more intense.
"Here, drink," Logan ordered, thrusting a bottle of water in Hugo’s direction. He took the bottle, but instead of drinking it like Logan expected, he unscrewed the lid, pouring the contents over his head, sweeping his bangs up off his face. Logan thought he had gotten away with the choked noise pulled from his throat, but Lydia chuckled from behind him. Logan turned on his heel, sending her a steely glare, "Is there a problem?"
Lydia raised an eyebrow, cocking her head as if inspecting something, "I'm just wondering how long it's going to take you to get your act together, Tremblay."
Logan tensed, glancing behind him quickly. He let out a long breath, relieved to see Hugo's attention had been monopolised by Ibrahim and another of their friends congratulating him. "I don't know what you're talking about," he scoffed. "We barely even know each other."
"You may not know me, but Hugo and I have been friends since we were babies, so unfortunately I am aware of the exact shade of green your eyes happen to be," Lydia retorted, shrugging off the plaid shirt she had on over her vest top. Her expression had softened when she looked at Logan again, "Look, maybe I've made a big mistake here and you're really not interested in him like that, but if that's the case you really need to stop leading him on."
"I'm not-" Logan started to protest, a part of him wondering exactly what Hugo had told Lydia about him. "-this is none of your business.” He chewed at his lip, pulling his cap from his head. It felt like the temperature had risen dramatically in the last thirty seconds, Logan very aware of the beads of sweat forming under his t-shirt. He shoved his cap back on, tugging at the curls at the nape of neck. "I'm going to find my sister," he said, grinding the words through his teeth and turning on his heel. Somewhere behind him, he heard Hugo call his name, but he pretended he hadn't heard, continuing his quick strides away. This was all too confusing and he just wanted to see Noelle.
Logan crossed the park, finding Noelle sitting on a set of stairs, her head resting on Natacha’s shoulder, the two of them watching some of their friends work the rails. She seemed content, so Logan hesitated a few feet away, guilt creeping in at the prospect of disturbing her. Eventually, his need for comfort won out. "Nolly?”
Logan rarely used the nickname in public these days, receiving a swift smack to the back of his head whenever he did. Noelle whipped her head up, her glare melding quickly into a look of concern.
"Nolly, huh? Adorable," Natacha teased, nudging Noelle gently.
"Don't even think about it," Noelle deadpanned, her eyes remained locked with Logan's. "Hey Lo, what's up?" She patted the concrete next to her, and Logan took a seat, resting his chin in his hands against his knees. He looked between Noelle and Natacha, chewing at his lip. Natacha had always seemed nice, but he wasn't sure he wanted to bare his soul to her quite yet.
"Do you want me to go? I can always go and show the boys how it’s done, it's not a problem." Natacha smiled softly and instantly, Logan decided he liked her. Besides, he wasn’t sure he had anything to say yet, so it was pointless sending her away.
"No, it’s okay," Logan sighed. "I just needed a break." Noelle looked at him pointedly, and Logan could tell she didn’t believe him. For now, she refrained from an interrogation. Logan had a funny feeling that it was postponed rather than cancelled.
It took a while for the conversation to fall back into a natural rhythm, however once the initial awkwardness faded it flowed well, Natacha dropping into the natural gaps of Noelle and Logan’s conversation like she’d always been there. It was easy over here, away from his friends, and Logan let his mind wander to thoughts of Hugo, trying to reconcile these new feelings with the information he currently had about himself.
Natacha laughed, loud and smooth, pulling Logan back into the conversation. "No, my ex, he -" Logan didn't hear the next few sentences, fixating on the pronoun until he couldn't hold in the question any more.
"Did you say he?"
Natacha furrowed her brow, whilst Noelle's expression turned smug and knowing. Logan had questions about that too, but it'd have to wait. Eventually, Natacha gave a slow nod. "Yes, he...Jacob, my ex-boyfriend."
Logan waved his hand between Noelle and Natacha, "- and now you have a girlfriend."
Something changed in Natacha's expression, but Logan couldn't place it. "Well," she chuckled, "we haven't called it anything yet, but I wouldn't object."
Logan blinked. "You can do that?"
Natacha shrugged, looking between Logan and Noelle with a careful curiosity.
"No." Logan cut her off before she could answer. "I know you can change your mind or whatever. Or not know. But can I just...I guess, I had that crush on Alicia back in grade 7, but now I think - yeah, Hugo makes me feel kind of the same way, so am I gay now or what?" He felt Noelle squeeze his knee as he reached to scratch at the back of his neck. She always told him he'd be awful at poker because he had too many tells.
Natacha looked between him and Noelle again. It was getting a bit annoying, but he figured he had just dumped a whole lot of thoughts on somebody he had only spoken to a handful of times. The silence was beginning to feel heavy when she eventually spoke, "I can't really tell you that. You could be gay, you could be bisexual, I'm fairly sure there's other things too. Just try not to freak out about it, yeah?"
Bisexual. Now that he thought about it, Logan remembered hearing that word before. He'd never really considered what it meant though, it hadn’t been necessary. The only person he'd ever had a crush on before was Alicia. Maybe bisexual fit, but he'd never liked another girl like that either so maybe Alicia was just a fluke and he was just gay. He lay back, shielding his eyes as he looked up at the sun and groaned. "Try not to freak out. How am I not supposed to freak out?! I want to kiss a boy."
"Oh, you want to kiss him do you? You're a baby, you're not allowed to kiss anybody." Noelle teased, poking at his side. Logan threw a furious look at her. Could she not see he was having a crisis here and she was laughing. "Sorry," Noelle apologised, her voice more sincere. "I know it's a lot to think about. It's just difficult not to tease my little brother about his crush."
Logan had to admit something was comforting in the idea that even when his world was in chaos, there was always the constant of his sister's teasing. He'd never tell her that though. "I think I'm just going to pretend this isn't happening," he sighed.
Noelle laughed again, more committed this time. "That would be very fitting," she hummed. "You could also, oh, I don't know...talk to him?"
Logan sat up quickly, "And what if he asks if I'm gay!? I literally told him 3 days ago I wasn't interested.” The long sigh that followed felt like it was pulled from him.
"Erm..." Natacha muttered awkwardly. "I'm gonna leave you two to talk. Good luck, Logan," she added, leaning around Noelle to pat at his arm. Ordinarily he would have found the gesture condescending, but it was oddly comforting.
There was a quiet as they watched her walk away. “I like her,” Logan declared.
"Well, she's my girlfriend so you can't have her," Noelle quipped. Logan rolled his eyes; his sister shared their father's sense of humour and frankly, it was awful. "Can I let you into a secret?" she asked, pulling Logan into her side. There wasn’t time to answer before Noelle continued. "It wasn't easy for me either. But I got there and you will too. Just be honest with Hugo, and if he's an ass about it at least you know he's trash now rather than later."
"Thanks, Nolly," Logan said quietly, leaning his head on his sister's shoulder. "I think I'll talk to him. Or maybe I'll just show him my hockey reel, that's impressive." Noelle flicked her fingers against his leg and Logan scowled, rubbing at the spot.
"Try not falling off that board for once, that'll impress him," Noelle teased, inclining her head towards Logan's abandoned board.
"Or maybe, I'll just fall off and then get him to teach me." Logan retorted with a smirk, looking in the direction of the bowl that he had left earlier. He figured he should probably head back over there soon, he’d left before he could even really congratulate Hugo.
Noelle shook her head, laughing "God, you're such a Tremblay at times."
Logan heaved himself up, grabbing his board as he did. "Hey, you never did tell me what you decided on. You know...with your sexuality," his said, feeling his face heat up a little. Somewhere in the back of his brain, something told him he wasn't supposed to ask that, but the question had left his mouth before he'd really thought about it. "If you don't mind telling me."
Noelle looked up at him with a casual shrug, "I refuse to be defined by labels, I will date who I date and if people don't like it, well fuck them."
"Wow, okay," Logan raised an eyebrow. "That's a lot of anger in such a small person. Go skate it off."
"Alright, Mr 5 foot," Noelle scoffed, her expression softening before she continued. "I am
going to see if I can prise my board from Tasha's grip, but let me know if you want to go, yeah?"
"I just haven't hit my growth spurt yet," Logan reeled off his usual rebuttal to his sister's jibes about his height, but his mind was more focused on the latter words. "I'll be fine, promise," he smiled, even if he wasn't so convinced of the statement himself. He held Noelle's gaze for a beat longer, turning on his heel to head back to his friends
"Logan!" Hugo called loudly as he approached, the blond boy's eyes widening slightly when the loud sound left his mouth. "You're back," he added, at a more reasonable volume.
Logan smiled as he took a seat next to Hugo, "Yeah, sorry about that. Just had to sort some stuff.”
"No problem, just glad to have you back.”
Ibrahim faked a gag, and Logan shot him a glare. His friend mouthed something at him, but Logan couldn’t make out the words against the exaggerated movements of his lips. He turned his attention back to Hugo as he began to speak again. Ibrahim was probably only trying to chirp him anyway. "Hey, how's your Ollie going?"
Logan took a deep breath, trying not to think about his next words too much, "Yeah, I'm still practicing, actually. I was wondering if you could help me again? Somewhere," Logan looked around, "not here. I don't want to keep falling on my ass in front of everybody."
Logan swore he heard a low wolf whistle from one of the group, but when he glanced at them, everybody seemed to be engulfed in their own conversations. Ibrahim and Lydia's heads were close together, whispering conspiratorially in a way that was making Logan nervous.
"Yeah, I can help you," Hugo said, a goofy grin set on his face. "When do you want to do it?"
"Now?" Logan suggested, trying not to get distracted by the increasingly animated conversation beside him. Hugo must have noticed too, but he seemed unfazed.
"Oh? Now. Okay, Sure," Hugo nodded vigorously, brushing his hands through his hair. "We can do it now. I'm totally ready."
"Cool," Logan hummed, trying to appear nonchalant about the whole situation despite the uptick in his heart rate.
"Yeah, cool.”
Logan didn’t want to appear too eager so he waited for Hugo to stand first. Only it appeared Hugo had a similar idea bringing them to an impasse. Logan cringed internally, glad he currently had his back to Ibrahim because he could just imagine the mocking expression. He bolstered himself, letting his breath whistle through his teeth and laughed, hoping the noise sounded lighter than it did in his head. "Come on then," Logan said, rolling to his feet, offering his hand out. Hugo stared at it for so long, Logan was beginning to think perhaps he'd done something wrong. Then, Hugo slapped his own hand clumsily into it, pulling himself upright. Logan curled his fingers around the larger hand, holding onto it a second longer than necessary to help Hugo up. It was warm, slightly sweaty even, but Logan found himself wanting to test whether Hugo would keep their hands intertwined if he didn't let go. Still, a part of him was very aware of their current company, so Logan reluctantly pulled away.
As they walked away from the group, Logan braved a look behind him. Most of his friends quickly made to re-start their conversations, embarrassed to have been caught staring. However, the two he’d most suspected to lock eyes with had their heads down, fingers working furiously against their phone screens. Seconds later, Logan felt his phone vibrate. And then again, and again, and again.
Logan sighed, sending Hugo an apologetic look. "I'm sorry, let me just get this." He tugged his phone from his pocket, huffing when he saw the notification. Ibz created group 'Don't fuck this up Logan. He opened the chat, intending to mute it immediately, but curiosity got the better of him and he read through the messages quickly. Logan didn't have the third participant in his contacts so his phone just displayed the number, but if he wasn't already aware that it would be Lydia, the blunt tone of her messages would have given her away.
Ibz: His favourite colour is red!
Lydia: Why would that be helpful?
Lydia: Also, I think it might be green now ;)
Ibz: Lydia! That is not helpful! Logan, you can talk to him about hockey. He's been studying.
Lydia: That's true! He's kind of obsessed with dinosaurs too so try to work that into the conversation.
Logan worried at his lower lip, noticing that Hugo hadn't been inundated with messages. He could only surmise that Lydia and Ibz thought Logan was the only one of the pair that needed some extra help. He grumbled under his breath, typing out a reply with punishing taps against his screen.
Logan: Guys! Stop! I can handle this. Can you just stop meddling?
Lydia: If you say so. I am going to kick your ass if you hurt him though.
Ibz: Hey! That's harsh. Logan would never intentionally hurt Hugo.
Logan: Thanks Ibz! For the record, I'm muting this conversation now.
Logan smiled at how quickly Ibrahim had come to his defence, making a mental note to thank him in person later on. After following through with silencing his phone, he shoved the device back in his pocket, looking over at Hugo. He was sitting on his board, chin tucked against the palm on his hands, rocking slowly from side to side. He seemed content, but Logan still felt a little guilty about making him wait. "Sorry," Logan grimaced, "I'm all yours now. How about I show you what I'm doing, and you can correct me?"

DELTARUNE SPOILERS
Heyyy! I wrote a thing involving Jevil and the Chapter 2 Superboss! I'm going to put it under the cut, but at the end, there will also be an Ao3 link if you wanna support me there!
Thank you! Remember to Reblog if you wanna
The Lightner Trio walked down the stairs in the Queen's massive manor, their hurried footsteps echoing like a rough pitter-patter in the technological nightmare. The massive lair confused and bamboozled them, but they definitely wanted to figure out the mystery behind what the Fountains were about, what Queen's true intentions were… and what was in the basement?
"Uhh… Kris?" Ralsei asked, his soft voice echoing out. "Why are we even here? Aren't Queen, Noelle, and Berdly upstairs? And not here…?"
Susie quickly interrupted him, punching his arm lightly to get his attention. "Of COURSE they aren't here. But whatever is here is probably important. Right, Kris?"
"I guess!" The currently blue human replied. "I've been asked by some… guy, about doing these weird favors for him. He really wants me to be alone."
"We sure he ain't a p-" Before Susie could finish her thought, Ralsei muffled her mouth with his scarf. "Who is he? And why does he want you to be alone?"
"His name is Spamton, I think. I don't know much about him, but he gave me this Loaded Disk earlier, and--"
Suddenly, a strange, chaotic voice rang out. Everyone recognized it. The tail attached to Ralsei's cloak popped off, diamonds and hearts flying out with it. The tail spun and took form, and the chaotic Jester they quite literally put to rest yesterday was reawakened.
"Spamton? SPAMTON? The same Spamton who wished for me to go, to go, and be free, free?" Jevil laughed chaotically, with Ralsei caught quite off guard. "You know him?"
"That dorito chip was part of the reason why I was set free, he was! He used to rule this world, before the Queen I've been hearing oh so much about took over. Oh, I MUST know more of how you met that ridiculous lunatic! And that's coming from ME, ME! Spamton, oh Spamton, I'd like to have a word with him~!" Jevil looked quite pissed off, his normally jovial expression looking slightly stern.
"I didn't wanna go down there anyway. Just come back, okay? You're kind of carrying us with your defense boost." Kris, with a neutral expression, gave the clown the disk they were gifted by the malignant salesman, and watched as Jevil immediately sprinted off into the basement. They could hear an echoed "Buh bye~! I'll be back in a few hundred words!" As the jester descended into the decrepit basement below...
Jevil entered the musty, rotting cellar. Despite him rarely stepping on the ground, each step he did take left a haunting impact on his feet. It was silent, save for the occasional rustling of his clothes. He didn't have long to do this. His physical form only had a few hours to be out and about before he solidified, just like the young boy and the puzzle freak. Thankfully, that's all he needed. He was getting excited, almost giddy, to interact once more with his old acquaintance. Oh, what a wonderful conversation they'd have!
He didn't walk for too much longer before he found the train station that was buried deep below. Or was it a roller coaster? Whoever had this built clearly had some elaborate roundabout in mind… too bad they were still imprisoned, haha! Jevil walked and floated across the tracks, reaching a room with a decaying robot inside.
He knew this was a bad idea. But when did he ever have good ideas?
Without hesitating, the joker put the disk into the robot. At first, nothing happened, and he was getting impatient VERY quick. He gave the robot a swift kick in the lower area, before stepping back out of the room.
Step…
Step…
SLAM! The clown was admittedly caught off guard with how fast the silhouette from above came and pushed him onto his knees. With a small gasp for air, Jevil looked up slowly at the encroaching menace. The jagged movements, the glitchy, unsolidified form… this was him alright.
"KRIS… MY LOYAL [Sponge!] THANK… YOU. THE [Clown Around Town!] I REMEMBER YOUR [Disgusting] FACE. EVERYONE WAS SO [Thrilled] TO SEE YOUR [Calcified] FACE." The massive robotic behemoth loomed over Jevil, rage in his glasses. Spamton NEO.
The clown got up, a smug, shitfaced expression on his mug. He knew damn well that the dorito in front of him was pissed off, so he leaned back in the air to retort. "At least I drink plenty of milk, uee hee hee! As for you, you haven't changed one bit since we last spoke~! Or would it be a byte, a byte? Regardless, I do hope you've given up on the illusion of freedom, freedom~! The only one who can be free is MEEE!"
The robotic menace swung around to the other side of Jevil, making it very clear who was in charge of the conversation. A small concentrated blast of Pipis was fired at the jester, pushing him back with a surprising amount of force. "YOU ACT SMUG, BUT YOU [Crashed our stocks!] AND THEN YOU [Spoiled relations with our Esteemed Partners!] I DON'T KNOW HOW YOU… GOT IN HERE, YOU… [Tuna Fish,] BUT I'M NOT FALLING FOR YOUR [Roundabout!] AGAIN!"
Jevil laughed maniacally at this thought. This guy was mad! Over something that happened how long ago? Why even bother holding a grudge still? Petty, petty! He knew why, and it's why he came back too. "You influenced him. That pretty little kitty. You gave him enough funds to release me into that carousel of bliss and innocence! But I wasn't done, not one bit! And all those years, spent being free… they made me realize something, my dearest Spamton."
The oddly calm tone coming from the jester put Spamton NEO at an incredible amount of unease. "WHAT? WHAT COULD YOUR [Calcified Lump] THINK OF THAT WOULD MEAN ANY GODDAMN THING TO ME?"
"I CAN DO ANYTHING!"
The joker used his latent power to pelt the giant mecha with small white hearts. Spamton was caught off-guard, stumbling back a fair amount. Of course, you have to fight fire with fire, so the robot used his abilities to send out a Big Shot of blue Spamton Head Pipis.
"YOU [Saturated Marketshare!] YOU CAN'T SIMPLY ATTACK ME AND EXPECT IT TO WORK [As seen on TV!] I'M A [BIG SHOT!] [BIG SHOT!!!]"
Jevil hopped up onto the ceiling, clearing the first few Pipis on the lower row heading his way. Unfortunately, the higher row caught him clean in the face as he bounced between the two, making a small Jack-in-the-box melody as he pinged around.
"SPAMTON, MY BELOATHED! I DON'T THINK YOU UNDERSTAND, UNDERSTAND, WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU'RE TRAPPED IN A CAGE WITH A SHARK, A SHARK! YOU GET BITTEN AND CHEWED UP!"
The fool retaliated by running circles around Spamton, turning into a carousel of horse bullets! The robot, in a surprising feat of puppeteering, dodged the attack almost perfectly… until a stray horsie cut a string, sending the mech's right arm into the horse race. One thing about arms with cannons on them? They fire.
As soon as it happened, Jevil was face to face with a swarm of Pipis all around him. He was stuck. All of them exploded brilliantly, sending the clown flying clean across the rotting tracks and into the wall. Tauntingly, mockingly even, Spamton NEO retorted.
"I'M THE SHARK NOW, JEVIL! I'VE CHEWED UP SO MANY [Failed Buisness Partners] THAT I COULD MAKE A WHOLE [Presentation] OUT OF THEM! STAY OUT OF MY GODDAMN WAY, OR [Sparkle like new!] YOU BRAT."
The buisnessman charged at Jevil, his hands becoming phones. "IT'S FOR YOU." Suddenly, before either of them could react, loud blasts of garbage noise manifest expelled from the phones, attacking the court jester with white blasts of energy. There was nothing he could do to stop this robot's onslaught, it looked like.
"OH SPAMTON, IS THAT WHAT YOU THINK? THAT YOU'RE THE ONE WHO'S SO POWERFUL RIGHT NOW, NOW? I'D SUGGEST YOU LOOK UP, UP! YOU'RE NOTHING WITHOUT THOSE STRINGS IMPRISONING YOU, UEE HEE HEE! YOU'RE NOT A BIG SHOT, YOU'RE JUST A LAZY FRAUD WHO CAN'T STOP HANGING ON TO HIM! I GUESS SLEEPING FOR 100 YEARS DOESN'T MAKE LITTLE OLD ME MISS MUCH, RIGHT?"
Without warning, Jevil was myseriously gone from his corner. The spamware looked frantically for his target, before being struck in the arm, the leg, and the chest by scythes. Devilsknives. The last knive cut a few strings clean off the puppet, who briefly hit the ground before rising back up.
"SHUT UP! SHUT UP! [Hyperlink Blocked.] I'M STILL HIS LOYAL ASSOCIATE! HE MAY NOT HAVE TALKED TO ME IN [Employee of The Month for 144 months!] BUT HE'S STILL THERE…"
Jevil interrupted him cleanly and concisely. "FACE IT. YOU'RE NO BIG SHOT ANYMORE, SPAMTON G. SPAMTON. ALL YOU ARE IS A FAILED INVESTMENT, UEE HEE HEE!"
With those words, a purple blast came from behind the clown, striking the robot right in the noggin. He flew back a bit, giving the joker enough time to turn around to meet his esteemed guests.
"Ah, my imprisoners~! Didn't you guys have a Queen to rock-em sock-em?"
Susie immediately cut him off, as she punched him in the arm (causing his head to spring up, naturally.) "Well, Kris over here couldn't shake the feeling things were off. So they forced us down here, and now they're right. Somehow?"
"I know I'm right.. Jevil, who the hell is Spamton?" Kris replied, their worry about the situation starting to rise.
"It's of no concern to you~! His screws were almost as loose as mine, and I don't think it's my job to tighten them~! Uee hee hee! Thank you for the help, but I can do anything~! Even tell you guys that 3 coasters are about to come down and force you guys along for the ride~!"
Ralsei immediately stuttered something out. "Three… what?"
And just like that, with a loud rumbling, the heroes were swept up into 3 old, rusty carts, barrelling down the track. Jevil laughed to himself, proud of what he got to do. "Ah well, it's a shame I can't finish him personally…"
"But oh well! Are you proud, proud? They took care of him…"
"Doctor."

In the End
Summary: The battle in Spade Kingdom is over. There is loss. But also reunion.
Genre: angst
Word count: 842
Content warning: character death
..........
With the vanquishing of the final devil, the skies over Spade Kingdom seemed to clear and grow brighter. The Clover Kingdom Magic Knights and Spade Kingdom's resistance fighters had earned their victory.
There were celebratory whoops and shouts from some.
There were tearful embraces with whispers of comfort from others.
Excitement, relief, mourning. All these emotions swirled together on the former battlefield.
In one corner of the snowy landscape, the Black Bulls reunited. Cries of "Captain Yami!" Tears fell freely from all members. Some of them, particularly Finral and Noelle, wailed like children. Even Zora's stony expression broke a bit to show teary-eyed relief.
"Hey... C'mere..." Yami extended his arms and let his squad tackle him with hugs. "Thanks for coming for me..."
I'm happy for them all. Nacht watched with a fond smile on his face. It's over. Finally. He sat down on the snow. Its chill soothed the burning ache in his body if only just a bit. His eyes felt heavy and they started to close. His body swayed. I wonder... Would Morgen be proud of me?
"I am proud, brother. You've come so far."
Nacht opened his eyes just enough to see that he was now looking up at the sky. And the Black Bulls. Yami and Asta were the closest with the others in his periphery.
"Vice captain, hang in there!" Asta exclaimed. "We can get a healer here real soon!"
"You're really gonna kick the bucket like this?" asked Yami, his challenging tone contrasting the worry in his eyes.
Nacht opened his mouth to answer but he was in too much pain to get any words out. Everything ached. It made him wonder how he'd been able to walk around and fight as long as he had when the first battle alone left him in terrible condition. All Nacht could do at that point was breathe.
I guess this is the end. Darkness crept into Nacht's vision. People's faces were blurring and color seemed to fade. I deserve this anyway...
"Vice captain!"
"Don't die!"
"Nacht! Hey, Nacht!"
.....
"Nacht!"
He turned in the direction of his name.
Standing in a void of darkness was Morgen, looking the way he did on the day he died. His features were twisted in sadness and stained by falling tears.
"Mor...gen..."
"You shouldn't be here!" Morgen sobbed as he took a step towards Nacht. "Go back. Please go back!"
"If I'm here, I don't think I can," Nacht replied.
"No, no, no!" Morgen shook his head and strode up to Nacht. "You should go back!" He slammed his fists into Nacht's chest but it didn't hurt at all. "It's unfair! You shouldn't have died so soon!"
Nacht felt his heart drop. "Well what about you? You died when you were only nineteen... And it was my fault..."
"I've already accepted my death! I don't blame you! I never did!" Morgen yelled as he continued to hit Nacht to no effect. "I wanted to see you make your life better! I wanted you to have another chance! But now that you're here, you can't—!" He stopped and wiped his eyes with his sleeve. "I wanted to see you be happy again! To see you share your life with others!"
In Nacht's memories, Morgen had never cried as hard as he was in the moment. Morgen smiled with such ease, as if he was unaffected by negativity. Seeing him cry uncontrollably now...
Nacht, for the first time ever, hugged Morgen. He guided his brother's face to his shoulder and stroked his back to soothe him. Morgen threw his arms around Nacht and continued to sob. It was an unfamiliar feeling, the closeness and warmth, but it made Nacht feel lighter than he had ever been in his whole life.
In the void between life and death, there was no way to tell how long the embrace had lasted.
The brothers eventually parted. Morgen wiped away the last of his tears. Nacht looked down at his feet.
"Have you been waiting here this whole time?"
"Yes. I couldn't bring myself to move on without making sure you'd be alright."
"I'm sorry I let you down."
Morgen placed a hand on Nacht's shoulder and Nacht looked up to meet his eyes. "You fought to protect Clover and the other countries. You used the power of devils for good. I couldn't be more proud." His smile turned sad. "My only regret is that you didn't live any longer. But at least we're reunited."
"Not for long." Nacht squeezed his eyes shut to keep himself from crying. "You're probably going to heaven now and I..."
"You've worked for repentance," Morgen assured. "And if heaven still doesn't take you, I'll gladly go to hell with you. We're family, no matter what."
Nacht gave a bitter smile. He removed Morgen's hand from his shoulder but kept it in his grip.
"If you're really okay with that..."
Morgen said nothing but grinned and nodded.
Together, the Fausts walked through the void. A light, one pure and gentle, began to glow in the distance.

It was always the quiet days that set Mond’s Cavalry Captain on edge. As a man who makes his living on hushed gossip and drunken secrets, a quiet day was a dangerous day. While Mondays usually set the city square into a frenzy, with the announcement of new bounties for aspiring adventures and the restocking of goods across the various vendors in town, the torrential rain that met the city as the sun rose that morning meant that only those who lacked their daily essentials were left scrambling about, bouncing between buildings in search of shelter.
That isn’t to say that he was slacking off with the poor weather hanging overhead. No, that would be too easy. Rather, poor weather meant paperwork. And by the Seven, Kaeya swore to himself that Lisa had been hoarding every miscellaneous form she could get her hands on for him to review since he had forgotten to return that one book on Snezhnaya he had borrowed after one of his operatives spotted La Signora in the city. It wasn’t his fault that the tomb had made for the perfect paperweight after he had found it was worthless for his intended purposes.
The smile she’d worn as she cornered him in the lobby after his lunch break earlier in the afternoon had bordered on sadistic. He was on his fifth hour of administrative work by now and, between the pounding rain howling against his window and the strain reading by candlelight put on his one functioning eye, he scraped his chair against the hardwood away from his desk as he brought a hand up to nurse his aching head.
He’d probably have to stay in the barracks tonight. The rain showed no signs of stopping and his apartment, tucked snug in the side street near the travelling vendors’ market, was too far to traverse in this weather. Perhaps he could fashion a makeshift cryo umbrella, if only he could reach the end of this damned paperwork. Public relations, damage estimates for recent Abyss encounters, and was that paperwork for the library? Gods, Lisa really hated him right now, huh? The captain was certain he had a nice vintage squirreled away in his wine cabinet at home. A lovely barolo gifted to him by a noble from Fontaine not long after his rise to Cavalry Captain. Though Kaeya had never abstained from alcohol, certainly since he was old enough to legally drink, the thought of wine at the time had driven him to hide it away. He supposed that Lisa would make much better use of it than himself and made a mental note to find it when he got home.
With a sigh, the captain stretched in his seat until his neglected joints popped, groaning at the release of tension. Given his busy schedule, he had forgotten his plans to stop for supper at Good Hunter. Glancing at his pocket watch, a gift from the Traveller, he noted it was past Sara’s typical business hours. Ah well, a cup of tea would have to suffice. With it being so late, he would have the luxury of the headquarters’ common room to himself. While many of the higher ranking officers of the Ordo took breaks and tea in their own private offices, a common room on the second floor was provided for the knights to avail of. And the last time Kaeya checked, there had been a small kitchen there, one where Miss Noelle was handy to store that lovely chamomile tea she had served him recently.
Rising from his desk, he made his way from his office and down towards the common area, giving a brief, lazy salute to any knights stuck on nightwatch. He was thankful that Swan seemed to be off this evening, likely on shift at the city gates. Barbatos knows that man took his job far too seriously, and Kaeya was too tired to receive his advice on following the Ordo’s handbook effectively. Instead, the few knights he passed were content to simply share brief “hello”s and well wishes to their captain, and soon Kaeya found himself striking matches in the common room before watching the water slowly rise to temperature, the flames waving faintly in the hearth. As the water came to a boil, he busied himself with finding just where Noelle had hidden her tea that evening when suddenly he heard the floorboards in the common room creak. Hmm, curious. Placing the tea tin on the counter gently and snuffing the flame with a gust of cryo, he crept to the corner of the doorway, curious to see who else might be roaming the halls after hours.
No one, so it would seem. The room hadn’t changed since he entered, with no sign of anyone. Except the door had been jarred and there was a soft sniffling sound coming from behind the chaise lounge on the other side of the room. Light on his feet, the captain came closer, spotting a familiar shade of blonde crouched against the window behind the furniture, tiny legs tucked in tightly, face smooshed into her knees.
“Klee? What are you doing up past your bedtime?” Kaeya softened his features as he watched her jump, making sure to not crowd her in her hiding spot.
“Kaeya!” And oh dear those were tears, weren’t they? “Klee didn’t know you were here…”
“And I you, my little Spark Knight.” He considered her spot, sitting next to the window overlooking the city, including a clear view of the city gates. Visibility was poor, but Kaeya could see the window’s view of Dawn Winery in his mind. In the daylight, one could almost make out the servants’ outdoor lounge and the vineyard. “Would you mind if I sat with you?”
She gave a small nod, hiding her face in her knees once again. Oh dear Captain Kaeya you’ve found yourself even more trouble tonight, huh? One of the knights had left a plush blanket draped against the arm of the chaise. Given the chill of the glass, surely it would be appreciated. Picking it up, he bent down to sit against the window, his legs bent awkwardly to fit behind the furniture. Gently, he wrapped the blanket around her, tucking the little Spark Knight in with a pat on the head. Then, he sat and he waited. Situations like this called for patience. Slowly, he heard her shift in the blanket as she loosened her posture, coming to rest her head on his arm.
“Klee doesn’t like it when it rains.” The young pyro wielder whispered, so quiet Kaeya strained to hear her. “It’s cold and I can’t use my vision or play with Razor or Qiqi. And… and it makes me worry about where mommy is.” Ahh, there it was...
It wasn’t long after his promotion that Alice had left Mondstadt. At first, when Alice had arrived at the Varka’s office with a tiny child clinging to her skirts and peeking out to take in the building, it was assumed the situation would be a temporary one. As one of Teyvat’s greatest minds, the alchemist’s research was of great importance to the Ordo. Used by both the Knights and common folk alike, her Teyvat Travel Guides served as crucial tools for any adventurer and her work with the Hexenzirkel provided invaluable data for the study of the Abyss Realm. So, for her to announce her intentions to leave Mond for research purposes was unsurprising.
But, seasons had passed and letters from the alchemist had been few and far in between. Though Alice spoke of her love for her little Spark and her hopes to see her again soon, each letter shared a common theme. Complications had arisen and research would take longer than expected.  While his web of intel ensured him of her safety, it had been about five months since Kaeya had heard of a letter arriving from her. Alice is a strong woman of course. While visionless, her alchemic abilities, as well as her ability to craft and deploy explosives, made her a formidable opponent in combat. There was no real worry over her safety. But, loneliness was understandable. While Mondstadt’s Chief Alchemist is a highly capable and intelligent man, socialization was something Albedo often neglected. Rather, he was more often than not a phantom within the Ordo Headquarters, appearing from his private laboratory only for resource gathering and the occasional trip to visit Timaeus in the city square. Thus, like many of the children received by the city of freedom, Klee found herself in the protection and care of the entire Ordo. A child of Mondstadt through and through. And that meant she was under Kaeya’s care tonight.
Running a hand through one of her pigtails, tucking a stray lock behind her ear, he looked out into the rain. “Storms like this are sad, aren’t they? Can I share a secret with you?”
“Big brother Kaeya has a secret? Klee promises not to tell!” The young knight assures him, raising a pudgy little finger to her lips, her voice hushed and earnest. A child’s naivete is something sacred, indeed. Her reaction brings a tiny smile to his face.
“I don’t like the rain either.” Storms bring memories of retreating backs, the biting sting of rejection and the chill of abandonment. When the wind howls, getting caught in the rain is like a kiss from the Tsaritsa against his exposed skin, reminding him of the delicate embrace of her cryo shield that night. It makes his vision thrum and flicker against his hip and causes the skin beneath his eyepatch to ache something fierce. Rain means tragedy and pain, and honesty in a way Kaeya has long since denied himself the pleasure of.
“Klee wonders if mommy has shelter, or if it’s sunny where she is.”
The rain brings the worst of Kaeya to the surface, melts his shields of mockery and cryo and leaves him stark and defenseless to the storm. But-
“It has to rain sometimes, if the flowers are to grow and the rivers are to last. Without the rain, the world loses a part of itself. And I’m sure that even when it’s cold, Miss Alice is kept warm knowing that you’re safe and sound here.” Klee lets out a soft noise in thought. She’s been slowly worming her way into his lap, pulling her blanket around them both in the process. “Besides, the rain makes us seek shelter and warmth and brings people closer together in doing so. We can appreciate our time in the company of another and look forward to seeing the sun when it’s over. It’s always nice after the rain, isn’t it?”
The young girl tucks the blanket under her chin, leaning her head back against his chest to look up at him.
“Klee likes the rainbows after a storm. And the way the air smells. And Klee’s favourite mushyrooms like the rain, so they grow extra big after!” Her voice grows in her excitement, chattering like a Springvale squirrel.
“That’s right. It’s not very nice out right now, but we have plenty to look forward to in the morning. After you get some rest.” Klee is a wonderful child, but he was glad to say he had never seen her cranky from lack of sleep. And he was not in the mood to find out what that looked like, especially with the experiments she and Albedo have been concocting lately. The smell of gunpowder and flaming flower stamens emanating from the alchemy wing within the past few weeks had been concerning to say the least.
“But Klee’s not tired yet..”
“Then how about you join me for some tea and then we’ll see. You caught me just as I was brewing some.” Chamomile would be useful for chasing away any bad dreams, and the sooner the Spark Knight was back in bed, the sooner he could return to his work.
“Okay!” Still so vibrant and loud at such a late hour. Kaeya supposed that their secret sharing time, and its quietness, were over for the night. “Can Klee have honey in her tea? Pleasee?” Sugar might not be a good idea this late at night but what the hell? Kaeya could be the fun brother tonight. Rising to his feet with a bundle of Klee and blanket in his arms, he let out a light chuckle.
“I’m sure that can be arranged, my dear Spark Knight.”
It didn’t take long for the tea to work its magic. While she may have whined over the prospect of going back to bed, Kaeya found himself moving to protect her head from hitting her tea cup more than once as the pair shared a late night snack. He wasn’t sure who had left a tin of baked goods in the kitchen, but he made note to stop by Good Hunter early tomorrow to replace them. Making their way back to solitary, Kaeya lifted her up to rest against his shoulder as they reached the stairs. Pulling back her bed covers gently, Kaeya laid her down gently, placing Dodoco beside her.
“Okay, firefly, hat and scarf, please.” While she had been dressed for bed, she had kept those on, likely to ward the chill of the building at night. As she passed each of them to him, he hung them on their respective hangers above her desk, each adorned with a different breed of crystalfly. She was asleep before he even turned around. Kneeling down next to her cot, he pulled the thick, red quilt up and over, tucking her in in a familiar motion, making sure Dodoco was tucked in just as tight. Smoothing down her hair, he rose to his feet, moving to snuff out the bedside lantern.
“Good night, big brother…” It was soft, muffled by pillows and blankets, but Kaeya heard her loud and clear.
“Good night Klee. Sweetest dreams.” Shutting the door as quietly as possible and sharing a brief greeting with Wood, the Cavalry Captain made his way back to his office. But not long after returning to his desk, sleep caught up with him as well.
---
The wind was too loud, even with his hands over his ears. It was the first storm since Kaeya began living at the manor and it was dredging up sore memories. It made him think of Mama. It was always cold in Khaenri’ah, so if it was cold in Mondstadt it must be freezing there tonight. She had found materials to work on that blanket she had been planning just before his father whisked him away. It had been about six months now since he arrived in Mondstadt. Kaeya wonders if she got to finish it before the weather got colder. Kaeya wishes he had had the chance to help her with it. She always made him tea before he sat and watched her work.
It was past 8 o’clock, the time Master Crepus set for him and the young master to head to bed. The two children shared bedrooms next to one another, their beds sharing the same wall. Kaeya wondered if the person in the bed next door was finding it easier to sleep. Diluc had warmed up to him instantly, even as the adults around them worried over what to do with a lost and scared child, still wrapped in the lord of the house’s rain soaked coat. While Kaeya still struggled with some aspects of Mond’s language and various dialects, Diluc’s running dialogue of funny stories and history lessons of all his favourite places in Mondstadt had made it easier to pick up the language fast. On more than one night, Kaeya found himself lulled to sleep by the boy’s stories of Arundolyn and Rostam, only to find himself safe and snug in his bedroom by morning.
Curling his fists in his blankets, he wondered if Diluc was still awake. Clutching the lightest of the bed clothes to his chest, a knit chenille blanket Crepus had gifted him his first night in the manor, he crept out of the room and across the hall on the balls of his feet. Diluc’s bedroom door was unlocked, but Kaeya hesitated with his hand on the doorknob. What if Diluc got mad at Kaeya for waking him up? Kaeya was only a year and a half younger, but what if the redhead thought he was a crybaby? Before he could make up his mind, the door, not fully shut when the elder boy had gone to bed, creaked open on unoiled hinges. From the doorway, Kaeya watched as the body laying in bed shifted before letting out a small groan.
“Kaeya..?” Darn it, Kaeya thought, as Diluc sat up, rubbing at his eyes lazily with his fist, “What’s wrong?” Kaeya froze like a deer in the headlights, unsure what to do. At his silence, Diluc perked up, squinting into the darkness to make out the shape in his doorway. “Kaeya? Is everything okay?”
“I can’t sleep…” His cheeks burned with embarrassment, little feet shuffling against the cold hardwood. He wrapped his blanket around himself tighter, tucking in his chilly nose and mouth, as if it would muffle what had already been said. The older boy watched him for a moment, before shifting in bed.
“Wanna sleep here tonight?” To punctuate his question, Diluc patted the empty space next to him. Kaeya gave a small nod before padding into the room, moving fast before the redhead could rescind the offer. Crawling under the blankets, he snuggled into the warmth, savouring the safe space. He hadn’t noticed from the doorway, but Diluc had stuffed animals in the bed with him. Kaeya hadn’t seen them before, but his older brother was adamant that he wasn’t a little boy anymore. He was just shy of 12 years old, after all. So it made sense he would be sensitive about needing plushies to sleep. Kaeya held the paw of a dog-shaped plush as he turned his head to face Diluc.
“What’s keeping you up?” Diluc had a furrow between his brows as he looked at him, having settled back into bed. He had wrapped his arms around his pillow, squishing his cheek into the fabric as he tried to read his brother’s face in the dark. He pouted as he said it, as if he had phrased something wrong. “You don’t need to tell me, but I want to help.”
“The storm,” Kaeya took a deep breath to calm himself, wrapping himself into the blanket cocoon tighter and pulling the plushie closer. “I want my mama… She always let me sleep with her when it was scary outside.” The smell of fresh linens clinging to the sheets around him was so different from the smell of lavender she carried. The pillows felt nothing like the comfort of his head resting on her chest, her fingers smoothing the knots in his hair.
“I miss my mom too,” Diluc’s voice pulled him from his thoughts. “I didn’t get to know her, but dad has so many stories about her. Whenever I have nightmares, he lets me stay in his room for the night and he tells me stories about her until I fall asleep.” His grip on the pillow tightened. “Our moms aren’t around, but we have each other! We can scare the nightmares away, right?” The young redhead had raised his voice and Kaeya tried his best to stifle his laugh. Laughing would be mean, mama said so. And Diluc’s bed and stuffed animals were more comfy than his cold room with all that wind howling outside his window. So, instead he nodded.
“Mhm!”
---
Sleeping sitting up was never good for the neck or back. And sleeping on a mountain of paperwork and pens wasn’t much better.
The sunlight had been a rude awakening. The torrential downpour had broken, the clouds parting to reveal the sunniest day Mond had seen in a while, light catching on the puddles as a rainbow stretched lazily across the horizon. It would have been pretty if it hadn’t been so impolite in waking the Quartermaster. Letting out a croaky yawn, Kaeya popped his back as he stretched like a cat across his desk. The paperwork beneath him was a lost cause, so why not. Gods, Lisa was going to have his neck. Better buy a few electro resistance potions before he faced her today.
Looking over his desk to survey the damage, he noticed a bundle of red cloth complete with a small note written in clunky, childish handwriting.
“Good morning, Kaeya! Klee made fishy toast and skewers with Aether and Paimon for you. Enjoy! :)”
Kaeya let out a huff of laughter at the doodle she had left at the bottom of the note of them both standing in the sun. The way she had drawn his face told him that Albedo had given her art lessons again. Tucking into his breakfast, Kaeya gazed out the window. The storm had dissipated to reveal a cloudless sky, and from his office he could see the people in the market square milling about, mingling and laughing in the balmy spring air.
The view told Kaeya that it was going to be a good day today.
