I follow this person on tiktok named WheelieErin who has the same neuromuscular disease as me!!!! They're working with an organization called Friends of Medicare to pressure the Canadian government (where they live) to prioritize home care spending in the next budget!!!!!!

This is very important for people like us because nursing care is the only way we're allowed to live independent lives like everyone else!!!!! Erin goes to school full time and lives in the dorms, I have a job, a mortgage, a cat, an in-progress writing career, and of course a beautiful life online!!!!!!! Without nursing care, neither of us would be able to pursue our dreams or have a life because we'd be stuck in institutions "staring at blank walls all day" as Erin so eloquently put it in their video (which I encourage you to watch here!)

You can sign the petition here! You don't have to live in Canada for it to be valid. Disability rights are everyone's rights, and making sure home health care is well-funded everywhere solves a lot of problems even abled adults have on their minds! Have you ever worried that you won't have anyone to take care of you when you're old without kids? Voila! Funding home care is the answer!!!!! Disabled voices don't mean much in the political sphere, but if this is seen as a widespread issue that EVERYONE supports, it'll have a much better chance at being taken seriously!

I really appreciate y'all for doing this! Even in the US, disabled people are critically understaffed because home care simply does not pay their staff and often doesn't even offer benefits, despite being more and more in-demand every year (even I am critically understaffed and have to have my family help more than I would like)!!!! This is both a labor issue and disability issue, as things usually are, so please consider spreading this as well. The more people who see this, the better!

According to the lore (yep I even wrote a fuckin lore, somewhere else tho), nobody knows where this guy came from, but it is told he was created in a facility after scientists decided to give an augmented brain to a cloned human being in a pod, which caused an incident because of electric shocks upon strong emotions from the confusion of this person after waking up, which is why he uses an Energy Stabilizer Helmet with a built-in vocoder and smart LED lights connected to the electrodes that read his eyes, emotions and thoughts; as well as a pair of gloves and socks that help him avoid accidental bursts of lighting coming out of his limbs. One day, he had enough being tested and decided to escape, making himself free... At least from the clutches of the scientiest who made him, as well as his "unknown facility" out there, now just living like a normal person for most of the days, having fun with friends and his girlfriend, spending time making art and doing things for entertainment of others, hoping that he really is a normal person like all the others he had met.

getting a ps3 and a TV fundamentally changed me as a person. not because of all the new video games i suddenly had access to, but because of all of the movies i can now go out of my way to pick up once a week at the library that i've always had instant access to on my computer.

#okay but for real #i never ever watched movies before i got my ps3 #like i only ever watched movies socially #i think the last movie i watched by myself before i got my ps3 (a month ago) was alice in wonderland over a year ago #watching movies was only ever a social activity for me #i'd watch the same 5 will ferrell movies with my dad and i'd go to the theatre with my friend #but other than that? i had little to no interest #whereas now its like i can't get enough lol #pre-ps3 i can think of six movies that i was ever genuinely excited to watch (not for social reasons) #and those were barbie (2023) rocky horror the sonic movie IT chapter 2 frozen 2 and the batman movie #thats it. my entire life. those were the only movies i was ever genuinely excited to watch #and now its like every week i'm beyond excited to pop in a dvd and watch a movie #reminds me of being a kid and going to the video rental store with my parents #really heartbreaking to me that kids these days will never get to experience that #scrolling on netflix will never capture the same wonder as spending 20 min in the store carefully considering your options #i'm really not very old so it's weird to think that “kids these days” will have such a different childhood to me #anyways i love watching movies and have so much stuff to watch so thats cool
