"You're not being discreet, Silco. You messed up and you know it." You said as you flipped to the next page of your book. "Just admit that you were wrong, and I was right." You looked up and saw him swirl his drink, giving you an annoyed look.

"If you were right, I would-"

You shut your book and leaned forward. "Darling. The whole bathroom is bright pink. I told you not to buy her that dye-"

He sighed and rolled his eyes, lighting his cigar. "She was making you a gift."

"And I love it, but the bathroom renovations? Not so much." You got up, going to him and sitting on his knee, running a hand over his chest, seeing a slight pink on his face. "Now say it." You purred in his ear.

He huffed and leaned back, hand resting on your thigh. "You were right."

Humming and pulling on his tie, you leaned closer to his ear. "Good boy."

"Pudding, you're pouting." You said in a sing song voice from your perch on her desk.

"A second ago I was an attractive asshole. Am I being promoted?" You slid off the desk and swayed your hips as you walked over to her, bending over when you got in front of her.

"Promoted to thief!" She huffed, her face bright red. "They're my favorite underwear and your ass is way juicier than mine so now, they won't fit."

So, your ass was bigger than hers and therefore you had ruined her favorite underwear? Oh, this was good. "Then take them off."

Her head snapped up and her eyes narrowed at you. "What?"

You leaned in a bit more and licked your lips. "Take. Them. Off-"

Jinx had you on the ground before you finished that sentence.

-Cleaning his workspace. How. Could. You?

-Doesn't take criticism well, even if it is constructive.

You tapped your boot on Ekko's and he turned his face away, still pouting with his brows pulled together in that mean frown of his.

"I didn't say it was ugly, Ekko." You sighed, tapping his boot again.

"'Babe, I don't think that the green was the best choice for our room.'" He said in a mocking tone. "I spent all day painting!"

You groaned as he threw your words back at you. You clapped your hands together. "'Was the best choice'. Not the worst." You grabbed his arm and pulled him closer, planting a kiss on his cheek. "And it looks nice, but next time, lets pick the color together, yeah?"

"Hmph." He was still pouting, upset that you weren't thrilled about Firelight Green being the theme of the entire space you inhabited with him.

"Wanna see if the walls match my underwear?" You wiggled your eyebrows at him. "Do a couple of 'swatches'?"

He picked you up so fast and put you over his shoulder as he marched up the steps to the room, still muttering about how he was going to prove you right.

•🦇Scar (bat guy from the Firelights)

-Compliments, telling him he is handsome in front of his friends

-Really gets to him when you put yourself down. Will not have it, you are an angel on earth

You noticed the glare almost immediately when you were talking to a new Firelight and the guy had put a hand on your arm. Then the arms crossed, and you could tell he was biting his cheek to stop from himself from saying something stupid.

The man was mad. Excusing yourself, you made your way over to Scar, watching as his lip twitched. "You okay?" You wrapped your arms around his waist and looked up at him.

He growled and looked back up at the new Firelight, then back down at you, lip twitching again. "Oh, no! He was just being nice."

That didn't make him feel better. "Scar..." You pouted a bit. "He doesn't even have cute ears. How can you be jealous of him?"

Scoffing, he rolled his eyes and his arms dropped, hands on your shoulders. Smiling, you reached up on your toes to plant a kiss on his lips. "Well, tonight we can be loud enough, so he knows who belongs to who? Hm?"

You always knew how to cheer him up.

•💪Vander

-Putting yourself in dumb situations without thinking

-Backtalking

The door slammed behind you as you stomped into the room you shared with Vander; jaw clenched, and hands balled into fists. He was hot on your heels, and he had the biggest scowl you have ever seen him make.

"Don't get mad at me." He crossed his arms "You had no business getting between two brawlers to break up a fight."

"We can't afford a new pool table!" You threw your hands up. "And they already broke a regular table. Thankfully we have an extra to replace it."

"I had it, love." His scowl was beginning to fade, but he was still upset. "You could have gotten hurt."

"But I didn't." You held up your finger. "In fact, I got a couple good jabs in myself."

"That's not the point, dove." He took a deep breath and took a moment to get his thoughts together. "One of these days I'm not going to be there to get you out and then what?" He put a hand on your arm. "Please stop giving Vi ideas."

You giggled, not that angry anymore. Yeah, it was a bone head move. "Yeah, she gets all of the bad ideas from me." You said sarcastically. "Never you."

"Never." He kissed your forehead.

•🔥Finn

-Telling him no. Pouty, pouty baby boy

-Undermining him

"No, Finn." You snapped, pushing the contract back at him. "It's a bad deal and you know it."

"Do I?" His eyes turned into knives as he glared at you. "I don't think I asked for your opinion."

"Hm." You crossed your bare legs, watching his eyes gloss over a bit while he watched you do it. "I think you did when you showed it to me."

He stared you down while flicking his lighter, cursing himself for doing this while you were in your silky night clothes. He could see your nipples and your legs were exposed. "Maybe I showed it to you so you would know who really makes the decisions around here."

You clicked your tongue. "Oh, I see. Still seems to me like it isn't you."

Click. Click. Click. "Do you really want to go there?"

A devious smirk spread on your face, and you licked your lips. "I didn't have too. You did it on your own, pretty boy."

Click. "Get your ass over here and we will see who is in charge of who."

•⚒️Jayce

-Is actually a tidy person. So messing with his tools will drive him nuts and disorient him.

-Lying about touching his tools and don't blame Viktor. He knows.

"-did too." He muttered as he set the wrench back in its place. If Viktor was bad, you were worse about keeping things in place.

"Janna, Jayce, I did not!" You spun in your chair, pulling your goggles down. "I put it back in the drawer!"

"It hangs up." He straightened up and pointed at you; he just caught you in your lie. "Try again, sweetheart."

You sputtered and groaned, rubbing your face. "Ok, but I tried to put it back!"

He pursed his lips and narrowed his eyes. "In the wrong place."

"I tried! I can't remember where it all goes. This is crazy." You turned around, turning your back on him. "-becomes a counselor and a terror all in one week." You mumbled under your breath and picked up the gear you had been trying to carefully put in place.

"Say you're sorry, baby." You saw two large hands on either side of you and could feel his breath on your neck.

"Sorry you're a clean freak." You sniffed, pretending to concentrate harder.

You could practically feel him tense up and make a face of frustration, making you hold back a laugh. No, you would not do it this time.

"Okay, then." Without warning he had you up on the desk and pinned, smirking at you.

It made you laugh, how he thought this was going to make you say you were sorry. "Now I am definitely not sorry." You pulled on his shirt.

•📖Viktor

-Folding the corners of books to book mark them. Only animals would do that nonsense.

-Unnecessary noises drive him insane. Please, do not-

The tapping was getting louder and louder and now he was barely unable to think, just tap tap tap.

"Darling, would you be so kind as to stop?" He turned in his chair and asked you politely. You probably didn't even know you were doing it.

You looked up from your book and blinked before you looked at your hand, realizing you were tapping your nails on the table. "Oh, yeah. Sorry." You put your hand under your thigh.

He gave you a sweet smile, thanking you before turning around and going back to his work.

Swishswishswishswish- he turned back around and saw you looking at him while running your hand over a textured surface. "Darling-"

"Yes?" You smirked, seeing his eye twitch.

"Must you?" He raised his brows, his jaw flexing as he clenched it.

Swishswishswishswish- you went faster, keeping eye contact. "I fear I must."

His nostrils flared as he inhaled deeply, licking his teeth. "My dearest, most beloved darling- fucking quit."

You burst out laughing, your stomach muscles getting sore with how hard they clenched with laughter. Did he just say fucking? You had never seen him so annoyed with you.

"Oh, this is funny?" He was trying to look intimidating, but you could see the smirk. You heard his chair rolling towards you and then you were trapped between him and your desk. "You think this is funny?"

"-I made-" You wheezed. "You said fucking." Your ribs hurt so bad.

His hands gripped your thighs and pulled you closer before sliding up to more intimate parts. "I'll show you funny."

•🖌️Mel

-Tickling. Why would you do this to her?

Finding out that Mel was ticklish had been a delight to you and anguish for her. You found out by running your fingers down her side as you laid in bed with her. Your eyes lit up and a big smile spread across your face as she wiggled away from you.

"Mel, are you-"

"If you do it, I swear, I will-" You pounced and tried to pin her, but this was Ambessa Medarda's daughter and she was not going down without a fight.

"Darling, you better stop!" She was a lady! A councilor!

You were able to pin her momentarily and get her real good and for the first time you heard a real good laugh out of her. Not a chuckle or a soft, reserved laugh, but a good loud laugh right from her belly.

Stopping, you wrapped yourself around her, smiling like mad as you pressed your face between her shoulder blades. "I like your laugh."

"That was so unbecoming." She looked at you with disbelief.

Giggling, you kissed her shoulder. "I know and I loved it."

-Hiding her cigars. She knows you hate it but babe, stop

-Using her weaknesses against her

"I swear, I put them on the table-" Sevika felt over her pockets and growled when she didn't find what she had been looking for. "Babe!" She turned around and looked at the living room. No, she didn't leave them there.

"Yes?" You called from the bedroom.

"Have you seen my smokes? I left them on the table- damn it, babe." She groaned as you appeared in the doorway of the bedroom, smokes in hand, completely naked.

"Oh, these? Yeah, I have them." You held them up and waved them around a little.

She sighed and held out her hand. "Please give them back." Try the honey first.

"Hmmm." You pretended to think. "No, I don't think I will."

She rubbed her chin in aggravation and groaned again. "I do love you, I really do, but you are being such a shit right now."

Giggling before faking a pout, you looked at the cigars in your hand. "You're not even gonna fight for them?"

What did you want? A full-on brawl? "What do you want? I'm gonna be late."

Smug and feeling very empowered, you held out the cigars. "You can have these-" You pulled them back when she went to grab them. "Or..." Your voice got sultry. "You can have me."

Oh, she loved you so damn much. "Hm, I have to think about that." She teased you back and you gasped, feigning offense.

"Ok, fine." You tossed them on the bed behind you. "Gotta get through me to get them."

Sevika was already taking off her cloak. "Oh, I'm coming."

I started using Facebook when I was 8 and I used it almost exclusively (outside of my personal Twitter I made when I was like, 12) until I was 14. I was in the meme/anime page community, where we grew and monetized Facebook pages.

The people in those kinds of communities at the time were very right-wing and "anti-SJW"; pretty much 4chan users. This is 2012-2014, and I would've been 12- 14. They would dox, SWAT, etc. It was a toxic place to be and I was active in this community for three years.

Over that time, I started to develop the same 'anti-sjw' / 'anti-feminazi' ideas and just all around I was not a nice person. Everyone there was essentially just a reactionary to whatever sociopolitical content came out of Tumblr, because Tumblr was popular for having different opinions. And I wasn't any different. I was very edgy and just as weird.

There were pages that screenshot and posted funny Tumblr posts, so I knew of its existence, but just assumed it was a 'hellhole of annoying sjws'. Anyway. I started being less active on Facebook because the page community was dying, and I started to get more into anime. I pretty much only had seen Naruto at that point, but then I got realllyyyy into Attack on Titan.

I almost tried to reset. I made a new Twitter account, but the sole purpose would be that it's for Attack on Titan. Twitter wasn't really that big at the time, at least the anime communities weren't. They were mostly roleplayers. I started talking to people and trying to make friends. I only had, like, 20 followers or something.

I ended up seeing a Mikasa roleplayer/cosplayer and we became friends. I still talk to her every once in a while, actually. I complained about the lack of anime content on Twitter, and she agreed. She said she only uses it for roleplaying, and that I should make a Tumblr account and follow her.

Apparently, I had already made an account in January 2014. It was completely untouched because it confused me (lol), so I reset my password and set it up. We followed each other, and I started to use it pretty much daily from then onwards.

I started off with just reblogging anime and stuff for the first couple months. At this point, it would be early 2015. I would be turning 16 in June. The campaigning for the 2016 election is about to start picking up. I made a LOT of friends on that blog and in that fandom, a handful of which I still talk to daily.

Listen, I know I was a child, but I wasn't stupid (well.). I'd see weird conservatives getting dragged for supporting Trump, and obviously all of the posts supporting Bernie and explaining what he's all about. So I would never open my mouth about my opinions or even tell my new friends my opinions. I ignored it for a few months, or I thought I did anyway.

I genuinely just started to learn over time. Coming to this website and being exposed to ideas I never cared enough to learn about made me a much better person. Now, I consider myself a communist. A surprising twist of events coming here as a right-wing Facebook reactionary.

Next January will mark my 10 years on this website. And I do think that I was able to find a 'home' here. It just feels comfortable and familiar. Even after all these years, it hasn't really lost its charm to me. It's the place I'm the least inactive, and if I do become inactive, it's never for long.

There's a lot of Tumblr history I missed out on because I was too scared of coming here earlier, and it's a little sad. But I was able to make my own history here in a way I'm comfortable with, and I think that's really neat

Golden Wildfire - Chapters 1- 4

I have started my GW route! Alright, let’s get started with note taking.

Playing through the intro all over again was annoying, but thank god for NG+ to move things along

Honestly, Claude is pretty charming. Shame about what I hear about later, though....

I forgot that Edelgard instantly tried to hire you, it’s been over 90 hours since I played the beginning....

Claude even stays behind to apologize. This man is going to be WILD RIDE. Guess that’s why it’s called Golden WILDFIRE. Eh? EH? Come on, laugh, damn it.

Jeritza doesn’t care about his house he gets, so stop with the Teacher Theory already. It’s not proven here at all.

Thank god for NG+ and all those levels I carried over.

Except Hilda and Claude.

Unlike SB, all the students are here for the ride. In SB, Bernie was basically in hiding for several missions.

Still seeing Edelgard talk with Jeritza but without the context would be confusing if you didn’t play SB first, I think.

Time to rescue Monica.

Also, it’s really confusing that the Mysterious Mages are a yellow enemy but my troops are also yellow

On my SB run, I would sometimes try to attack my own red troops because I was so conditions to attack Red, since Red = enemy

Lorenz being a Dark Knight already is funny

Monica gets right to the point this time, since Edelgard isn’t standing there being slobbered over.

Lorenz wants Tomas (Solon) to die for his animosity towards the church. Or something. Or he’s just being dramatic.

Raphael literally worries if the dining hall lady is also a traitor. Kek

Wait, did Scarlet Blaze ever go over Edelgad hiring Kostas? Because here, they are wondering if Tomas hired him. But I can’t recall now if they revealed Edelgard was the one who did. Does anyone know or remember?

Whoever voices one of the knights of serios... I have a crush on your voice. Just saying.

Nope, the transformation of Shez compared to Solon is still contrived as fuck

Claude is already investigating. Asking if Shez knows who Tomas is.

Shez asks if Claude is an outsider, after Claude mentions that he feels he met a kindrid spirit as an outsider. Kinda dropped the ball there a bit, Claude.

Almyra is now attacking. The Kingdom and Empire are busy with a revolt in the Kingdom, and a coup in the Empire. Maybe why the Almyrans are attacking now.

Lysithea likes it if you ask if we should ask for help from the knights.

Shamir joins us. The rest of the knights are already deployed elsewhere. The church doesn’t want to turn a blind eye to this invasion, even if their knights are spread thin.

Guess Marianne’s adoptive father doesn’t have much troops. Interesting

It’s nice to have everyone here. In SB, you lost half your cast.

Whelp, here is Shahid and Nader.

Poor Nader’s previous VA. :( Rip....

Shahid wants to conquer Foldan and get the throne. Of course.

I do like how different this route feels already. I’m not looking forward to how it will go, by what I’ve seen. But, it’s still a nice change of pace after 90+ hours of the Black Eagles

I’ve said this before back when I played the demo, but... Shahid not recognizing his bother is weird.

Is Shahid also the Undefeated because he ran away?

“Can’t kill him, he’s royalty. Don’t want an army to come for us for revenge”. I’m going to remember this for later.

Hilda calling Almyrans “unreasonable”.

Claude apologizing for making Hilda’s family protect the border for so long.

Claude made sure money is going into the Locket to restore it.

“Time for a feast!”

Time for that time skip!

So, we don’t get to see Edelgard’s declaration of war. Just that she... declared war.

The Alliance has been so peaceful that Shez literally has nothing to do. He sat around for two years.

Why didn’t Shez just leave looking for other work? Or look for Jeralt?

The Roundtable system is rough during war time, since the lords have their own territories and desires for their land to worry about. But it works well during peace time.

Edelgard makes Shez a commander right before the time skip (one, to show her commoners she gives them chances and two to keep an eye on him per Hubert’s suggestion). Here, Claude makes Shez a commander after the time skip, because I guess he really wants him on his side.

The lords are sending troops for the war effort.

Except Raphael, cause Claude asked him to come. Same with Leonie.

Except no Lorenz right now. He’s protecting the border.

It’s nice not to see red plastered all over the camp now. The yellow is pleasant, and the music kicks ass.

Ah, so there was talk about picking a different leader since Claude was so young. It’s the youngest that is about to go Palpitine on these nobles soon.

It really doesn’t cost much to unlock the renown units, huh?

So, Shamir is just here because.... she happened to be this way. Lol

The camp feels so much more empty than SB did. I think we are given a lot less units right off the bat. I’m pretty sure GD gets the least amount of units total.

Finally can see Raphael and Ignatz’s C support. It was completely locked out in SB. Can’t see it there at all. Nothing much say about it though

Leonie’s supports are also unlocked here (was also locked out of SB). Again, nothing much to say about it. Except that translation error.... calling Jeralt by his name but Shez not catching on. Cause she never actually called the captain by his name originally.

There he is. Count Gloucester.

Lorenz is taller than his father, loooool

Man, Shez is coming more to ahead with Claude already, especially when compared to Edelgard.

Claude is wondering if Lornez’s father will join the Empire side (”hypothetically”).

And now we have Lorenz back in our party.

I noticed that Hilda is the one who asks you to do the chores and the cooking. In SB, Monica asks about the chores, and Ferdinand helps with the cooking.

What do you mean Claude doesn't like the History of Foldan book gift?!

Claude suspects that Edelgard might be trying to unite Foldan and rebuild from the ground up, despite Edelgard only declaring official war on the Church. Also, Edelgard did not reach out to him about entering Alliance lands.

Claude and Shez’s C support - So, I have seen this support before. But still worth mentioning in my notes. Shez really suggests “just take power, lol”.

Which reminds me, Shez likes that Edelgard has complete power. They even mention in her route that Edelgard has total power in her nation.

I really don’t understand why they gave us Shamir in this route, only for her to have no C supports with any of the GD.

She doesn’t have any supports with the BE either.

Hilda and Shez C support - .... Bewbs

I like a Hilda that isn’t all “Don’t let me hold a weapon. :( She seemed more responsible in SB, and she seems more responsible here too.

Since I have am playing on NG+, I am having more fun with class variations. But, I’m also unlocking supports faster than Edelgard invades countries.

Raphael may be kinda a bad person on SB with how gung ho he is about fighting, but hey! He’s still super cute here in his support with Claude. This support... I probably unlocked a little too quickly. They talk about how it’s unsafe for Raphael’s family to travel right now since peace is over, but the big fighting hasn’t technically started yet, so it feels a little early.... ah well, could be worse.

Claude’s metaphor with Raphael is... a little strange. OK, on paper it’s ok-ish. A future where “wild animals” (the eagles and the lions) share their game rather than fight over it. And then as deer, they are happy to forge, but Claude wonders where they should forge next.

What’s good about this metaphor - Claude alluding to his desire to expand his future beyond to new horizons as “where to forge next”.

What’s not so good - The empire and the kingdom fighting over the next game. Listen, this is true LATER in the story, when the Empire (and not so much the Kingdom), is fighting for the “game”. But at the point of this story? The Empire is the only aggressor. And the Kingdom just wants to be left the fuck alone.

It makes it feel just a little forced, if you aren’t paying attention to the world in general.

Hilda and Leonie support - Floral oils and war. Yup. Logical. Gotta have your special floral oils for war. Just like having sweets for backing nearly all the time.

Main battle time for chapter 4!

This chapter is very similar to how Edelgard takes the Great Bridge in SB. Just the other side of that story, in a way.

Claude is willing to let the bridge fall if it means not letting his people die a losing battle.

But that means he is willing to let the empire march on the monastery, also innocent people, as a result.

Urg, Archeton

He already defected

Killed him. He is always destined to die too.

Time to retreat as Claude mentioned before. Lorenz’s father covers the retreat.

Caspar is here. Comes out to prevent the retreat.

I don’t even feel anything about that. Like, nothing. No issues about fighting him whatsoever.

I do like how Linhardt rescues Caspar, and that they worry about each other dying.

Linhardt surrenders if you decide to recruit him. Caspar comes to try to and take him back (it’s honestly kinda cute), but of course we defeat him. In, Ferdinand shows up.....

Then the battle ended cause Lorenz’s father decided to also surrender to the Empire.

Of course, Lorenz is pissed right now, although he wasn’t so mad in SB.

To keep the Empire from running rampant in the Alliance, time to draw battle lines.

Lysithea’s house also has surrendered to the Empire.

The monastery has been attacked, and Rhea has fled to the Kingdom.

How... do we know that though? Cause, like... in SB, Hubert makes a point that it was pure chance that they knew where Rhea went. But here, we just... know that. I guess.

The situation is pretty dire. Claude is worried about the Empire reaching the capital. And there aren’t very many noble houses that can send troops.

Ooohhh, Judith has been mentioned!

Leonie wonders if the Kingdom can send troops, but Claude... cannot really trust them because he doesn’t know what is going on in Dimitri’s head?

This is the same guy who guessed and expected Dimitri to come running to his rescue in in AM.

Guess he needed that year to learn more about Dimitri. Guess he didn’t have the time here.

We don’t get any of Rhea’s “KILL EDELGARD” stuff here. She’s very pleasant.

Dimitri makes a point to say that they are an unwealthy nation and so their hospitalities to the church won’t be a hardy one.

What’s interesting here is we don’t get Dimitri’s debate with his vassals about taking on the Church as refugees. They just take them, with only a slight mention that he would have been hated by his people if he didn’t take them. In SB, we see Dimitri hem and haw over the decision. No such case here.

Interesting. Hubert says that the policy they promised to their vassals is turning out to be troublesome, since now they have to go rescue vassals like Lonato who didn’t follow the plan accordingly. We didn’t get such a conversation in SB. Even Edelgard agrees it’s irksome, but must be upheld.

They are kinda villainizing Marianne's father quite a bit.

Judith is awesome though. I’m really liking her here.

I like this politics talk. Debating about who to fill the Five Seats, and so on and so forth.

Holst just so happened to fucking eat bad mushrooms. This isn’t a funny running joke.

But they are making a big deal about how Claude has to go through all these hopes being in an alliance, instead of just an emperor or a king and just make decisions.

So basically, we are going to slow down the Empire army until the defenses are set up enough to stop them from getting to the capital.

I quickly went back to see what happens if you kill Linhardt instead of recruit him.

Caspar is upset, lol. But of course. And he’s enraged instead. Caspar feels Linhardt won’t find peace if he dies here so he retreats.

Kinda wish we had gotten this much rage from like... Felix when Sylvain died in SB, but to be far, Felix had fully retreated from the battlefield at that point. At least Dimitri mourned.

Considering how it's implied the shop became a centerpiece for establishing fire town it probably has a lot of historical significance now. Kindlin came to visit to have something close to an authentic fire land experience. Hazel and the family were visiting for a week to help take care of ember's parents. it would be funny to think Kindlin isnt sure at first if Hazel likes Cirrus because they hung out a lot to share tips and experiences. Shes just like "lol no"

Ohh yes! So she walked in looked around at all the snacks and toys until she saw the blue flame and walked over to just look at it. She probably didn't have one in her family because I'm thinking it might've gone out by accident and they were too ashamed to ask someone to share theirs. I like the idea of them meeting at the blue flame. It really does connect people

She sees Hazel making a small offering and is fascinated and a little confused to see an "air" element praying to it

Kindlin is definitely confused but has learned to mind her own business. She probably makes an offering and then maybe they bump into each other after

"Oh sorry- hey it's you! I saw you make an offering to the flame." She helps Hazel back up. "Do air elements pray to it often?"

"oh not really but I'm not-" Suddenly Ember calls her over to help cinder and when Hazel calls her Ashka it clicks

She then sees the water guy who'd opened the door for her and greeted her in broken firish kiss her forehead and her mind is just slightly blown

She's probably never met mixed elements before so is very intrigued by this She kinda just watches from afar, pretending to look at the candy. She's a little hesitant to just go up and start asking questions. She eventually goes to the counter and since she's closer to Hazel she curiously asks "Is that your Dad??" Points at Wade.

" oh hey! Sorry we got cut off before, yeah that's him. Wait did he say something weird to you with the door? I'm so sorry we're both still learning the language"

She shook her head. "Honestly the language isn't my strong suit either. So no worries." She smiled and took out one of the candies she just bought. "You busy? I got a lot of this, if you wanna share. You seem cool"

"you know I think my dad said something about not taking candy from strangers butttttt you seem cool too"^^ It could be traditionally spicy candy and Hazel just poofs right then and there. "oh flame I killed her"

Kin walks out like "I didn't do it byyye"

"who were you talking too puffball?" "I don't know, but I hope she comes again soon"

I can see Kindlin coming back the next day to get some more candy and give another offering She also kinda hopes to run into that nice girl again Hazel was probably the first person her age that she hung out with for a while so she's eager to hang out again if given the chance

Hazel at this point hasn't transitioned but has started presenting more feminine. her "weird mannerisms" already left her without a lot of friends so she's excited to see her too

Kindlin has no idea lol just sees a cool girl who probably needs friends as much as her

After a week of hanging out at the shop neither one wants to talk about how they're leaving soon. Only to realize they were both visiting and live nearby back at the city. At first it wasn't that weird for kindlin to show up to the shop alone a lot of fire kids go in by themselves since they live nearby and the community is like a family. But the fact that they've still not seen her mom around is more than a little strange

She starts getting in the habit of swinging by everyday to grab a snack and go skateboarding around the area until it gets dark Just waiting to see if her friend might visit again Not like she had anything else to do

She adds a little section for kindlin to read whenever they send letters back to Bernie and cinder.

Kindlin hangs out around the shop to see if Hazel is gonna come back at some point cus she misses her buddy

hi again!! no worries at all :) take your time replying lol, i know these updates are usually like. long. and your replies are so detailed! so i get it.

as for my initial confusion with the support system, it was kind of... everything? that i didn't really get at first? it was easier to find a system with byleth where i was getting supports quickly once i figured everything out, vs getting supports with the other characters was a little trickier.

dorothea and sylvain's supports were.... actually pretty good imo? i enjoyed their a support. their paired ending wasn't awful either, but idk. i think i'd just rather pair them with different people. as for ingrid, YEAH, i intentionally didn't get her to a support with anyone besides byleth bc i'm pretty sure the only characters she had paired endings with who i had recruited were felix and sylvain. and i was not doing that.

ferdie and hubert are good!! and MAN caspar and petra's supports..... SO good definitely recommend getting those. i liked their ending fine, but the supports were definitely a highlight and idk if i could do a playthrough without getting them. so interesting. next playthrough (where i'm planning on getting the dorothea and petra paired ending) i'm probably gonna get these two to a support again as well.

and YAYY i love supports between the girls they're sooo good it makes me so mad that so many of them only go to b support!! at least the ones i was getting last playthrough. but i'm v excited to see petra's and dorothea's. and YAY petra in a tree. i love that.

YEAH i thinkk my "recruit everyone possible" route is gonna be. CF. because in that route you can spare hilda and claude, who i like, and if i have to pick between killing dedue and dimitri or killing edie and hubert.... well. i like dedue but it's an easy choice.

yeah i played through marianne's paralogue!! definitely enjoyed it and it very much elevated her to my favorite non-eagle character last playthrough lol. i'm soo excited to see more of her!!

and ty for the class thoughts!! yeah increased mobility is good, i think i'll probably try putting at least more of my units on mounts this time around, but who knows. i like coming at battles and leveling from a character perspective, sometimes to the detriment of actual strategy, but it's fun at least, so. we'll see!

so. i've given little update on my playthrough because i. haven't really played that much. instead, i missed the eagles sooo bad that i convinced my brother to play and hoped he would pick the eagles (he did) so now i've been watching him play (and in true older sibling fashion. sometimes taking the remote and playing for him. just a little bit. it is my switch.) anyway! i now understand how you felt a little because i'm sooo worried he's not gonna side with edie. i've been subtly sprinkling in anti-church of seiros comments to influence his choices LMAOO. im also sooo sad he doesn't really like bernie or hubert </33 his favorites right now are petra and edie though which is good taste. and he also likes caspar and dorothea a lot.

i'm finding on a replay that i am so much more fond of ferdinand than i was my first time around. i didn't realize just how much he had grown on me until i was back at the start and everytime he speaks im like. omg that's my friend ferdinand von aegir. LMAO. still not gonna recruit him on my VW playthrough but it is absolutely gonna murder me not to lol.

anyway! i do plan on playing more VW today. i'm very excited about claude LOL. and i feel a little less distraught about betraying my eagle besties when i'm simultaneously watching a playthrough where that (hopefully) won't happen.

mm i see i see. i guess it makes sense that it was easier to get supports w/ byleth since that's like. the main character. and you basically get support points (????) from doing basically.... everything. like the instructing characters individually and even just choosing the correct dialogue choice during explore? it gets you support points or whatever so i can def see that being easier than getting stuff between 2 other characters. its esp annoying since w/ the others you mainly gotta do thw whole like... these characters must be in range of the same enemy unit to get the lil hearts (support points) during battle. and that can get tedious and like i said. annoying. and besides that... you have to eat a meal w/ them or do choir practice to boost support between the 2. which. can only occur so many times per explore. and that also requires you TO explore during free days. which also can only occur so often per month. hopefully that makes sense? dfknf i dont rly know where I was going w/ this. but anyway glad you understand what's going on w/ the supports a bit more now! good luck getting the endings you want this time around!!!! AND THE TEA TIMES TOO.... I TOTALLY FORGOT ABT THOSE.... butyeah youre right theres def a lot more that can be done to get byleth supports w/ the characters

I recall you supporting Pete for a bit, what is it that turns you off? (This isn't supposed to be confrontational btw I'm genuinely curious and I don't want to miss anything before i throw my hat in)

I kind of fell hard for Pete (and his husband! And his dogs!) before he even expressed any substantive policy plans because he’s--just very charming and he’s got some really impressive rhetoric (the whole thing about reclaiming the concept of freedom from Republicans is just so choice) and he’s SMART.

But I honestly don’t really get the impression that he’s got that much going for him as a candidate beyond the rhetoric. Policy-wise and experience-wise, he can’t stand up against most of the major candidates and I think the praise that gets heaped onto him for being, like, genuine and unscripted is so bizarre because he absolutely uses the same canned answers just like any other politician. I watched all of his early interviews and I can probably recite most of his talking points verbatim. I do think he does a great job of integrating his identity and his personal experiences with political stances but so does Warren and Castro and Harris and. . .Beto, honestly. Like that’s maybe all that Beto’s got.

(Also, I’m very confused about how Medicare For All Who Want It is not literally just Obama’s public option -- maybe it is? Just with a kicky name? I don’t know!)

ANYWAY THIS IS LONG but I’d love to vote for him if he wins the nom but I think he’d be a killer VP and probably a fantastic congressperson. God, so many of them should just run for the senate. THE SENATE, BETO!

It started of a silly little game.

Keeping true to their word, the second they had graduated from high school and had those diplomas in their hands, JJ and Kiara wasted little time in planning the logistics of their surf trip around the world. So many places to go, waves to surf, sights to see—it was impossible to choose a place to start. However, thanks to Pope and his intense need to create a plan so his two best friends wouldn’t be thrown into the world as they “go with the flow”, he had organised a proper scheme.

JJ didn’t think it was necessary, and Kiara knew they wouldn’t stick to it. But they let Pope continue with it regardless.

Against their better judgement, his route and itinerary around Europe was insanely helpful for the couple as they ventured through the countries, excited to see places they could only dream about. Especially for JJ, it felt absolutely surreal that he was leaving the island, let alone travelling the world with the love of his life at his side. It was something he would never fully believe, but cherish in fear that he would wake up from this perfect dream and return to a shitty life in reality.

But as he turned to look at Kiara, her hair swept back by the breeze and her eyes watching the glittering city below in awe as they stood at the top of the Eiffel Tower, JJ knew that no matter how many times he pinched himself that this was his reality.

“If you’re about to make some cheesy joke about how the view is pretty but you’re prettier, I will throw you off this tower.”

JJ only grinned in response, shaking his head as he finally shifted his attention to the city view. They had just witnessed the sunset and it was one of the most breath-taking views either of them had seen, without a fucking doubt.

“Well now that you’ve stole my thunder and ruined it…” He trailed off with a sigh, but his smile only widened when he heard the soft giggle that escaped her lips.

“Whatever.” She muttered, her features softening as she leaned against the railing and took in the sounds of the streets of Paris.

“I can understand why so many people propose up here, it’s beautiful.” He admitted after a few moments.

Kiara only scoffed.

JJ turned to her, eyebrows raised. “You don’t agree?”

“Because there is nothing more romantic than having a bunch of other tourists watching one of the most intimate moments of your life whilst horns are beeping down below and the wind is blowing hair into your lip gloss.” She deadpanned.

Kiara was a romantic person when she wanted to be, but some gestures were even too much for her.

“Well when you put it like that, it’s no fun.” JJ muttered with a small chuckle, though he could see her point. “Does this mean I should keep the ring in my pocket and scrap the proposal?” He asked with a grin on his face.

Kiara rolled her eyes but she smiled. “Sorry to break your heart, babe, but if you got down on one knee right now, I would have no shame embarrassing you in front of all these people.” She said with a brief glance at the other tourists standing up here with them.

But JJ’s eyes gleamed at the sight of the challenge.

She didn’t have time to question him when he slipped one of the rings off, holding it in his palm before he cleared his throat and got down on one knee.

Her eyes widened as she looked down at him in confusion. “Jay, what are you doing—”

“Barbra Gertie Stonehend,” He started in a loud, boisterous voice to (successfully) catch the attention of the other tourists. “We have spent years together, helping each other through many hardships. I have been there for you since your bed wetting days when you were twelve, I have been there for you since you got your braces stuck in the railing at the zoo, and I have been there for you since your pet piggy was tragically knocked down by a bike. But now I ask that you do me the honour of being there with me at the end of the aisle by the alter?”

He finished his obscene speech, now holding his ring between his fingers and looking up at her with a faux hopeful expression. She pressed her lips together to hold in her snickers as she glanced around, seeing all eyes on them as they awaited her answer. And when her gaze returned to JJ, there was something quite smug shining in his eyes.

JJ had always been the best liar from them all, the way he would so easily be able to spout out nonsense at the drop of a hat. But she was just as competitive and determined as the blond, and willing to challenge him at his own game.

“Oh Bernie…” She sighed, hand placed on her chest as she looked down at him. “How could I ever marry a monster like you! Marge told me everything, I cannot believe you would expect me to marry you after you were the one that killed my pig!”

A few gasps could be heard from the crowd around them.

JJ urged himself not too laugh, though his eyebrows were raised in silent appreciation.

“Boo-Bear, it’s not what it seems! I didn’t mean to kill Vincent!” He urged, reaching out to hold her hands in his own. “I am more than a cold blooded pig murderer, please give me a chance!”

“I love you, my snookums, but I cannot!”

“Please, honey-bunch, don’t listen to Marge!” He cried out as she ripped her hands from his. “She is just jealous of what we have!”

“Then why are you having a child with her?!”

Kiara could’ve sworn she heard someone utter ‘holy shit’ under their breath but urged her face to remain neutral.

“It’s not mine!”

“Then who’s is it?” Kiara demanded, her hand clutching her imaginary pearls.

“My twin brother’s!”

“No!” Kiara gasped, feigning utter shock as she took a few steps back. “It cannot be Bobby’s…because he is the father of my child!”

Another series of gasps echoed amongst the landing.

“You…you were cheating on me with my twin brother?” JJ asked, finally standing up as he looked at her with a look of betrayal.

“I’m sorry, Bernie…” She whispered but JJ dramatically turned away.

“I can’t believe this,” He muttered before heading towards the exit. “I’m taking the dog and going home!”

“BERNIE, NO—”

“Goodbye, Barbra, enjoy your life with Bobby and his stupid exterminating company!”

Whispers murmured around the group and Kiara urged herself to keep a straight face as she waited a few moments before following him down. Once they reached the bottom, it took one glance at each other before they burst out laughing, tears streaming down their faces as they clung onto each other and walked back to their flat.

It was the start of an odd game they played for the rest of their trip. In the most random places they would play out insane scenarios, the aim to be as dramatic as they possibly could until one of them had to physically leave the scene before they burst out laughing. It was just a wee game to spice things up when they were out in public, plus it helped knowing they would never see any of these people again.

The word ‘Eiffel’ just had to be said and the game would begin.

And boy, was it entertaining.

There was the time they were in Austria visiting a vineyard, when suddenly Roberto was just sick and tired of holding back his secret affair he had been hiding behind his wife’s back. Little did he know his wife, Carla, had been sleeping with his secretary too.

Or the time they pretended to be spies on a mission whilst walking through a museum in Australia, pretending to mutter things to one another and even went to the extent of buying walkie talkies so they could suspiciously communicate from opposite sides of the room. That one kind of backfired because they did end up being thrown out by security.

Or the time they were in a small village in Turkey when it was suddenly revealed that Topanga would be leaving her fiancé, Johnny, for a prince that promised her wealth in power. However much to her shock, the prince she had been talking to was actually Johnny catfishing her.

Or there was the time they decided to re-enact the whole plot of Mamma Mia in Greece to see how long it would take people to notice how familiar the whole situation felt. It turned out it took people a tragically long time.

It was a stupid game that they adored and it followed them through the extent of the surf trip and even sometimes when they would returned home. Not to the same extent as they did in the past with fake identifies, but sometimes just odd scenarios to really fuck with their friends’ heads and keep them on their toes.

There was just something so satisfying about turning to each other, matching grins on their faces as they sat at the kegger and listened to some random touron talk about how nothing interesting ever happened on this island whenever she would visit her grandmother.

Ideas racing in their minds and all the possibilities of how they can make this night one to remember were jumping at the possibility to put on a show. With his eyebrows raised, JJ turned to his girl.

“Eiffel?”

“Eiffel.”

“HOW COULD YOU?! THAT GOLDFISH PIZZA MEANT EVERYTHING TO ME AND YOU JUST ATE IT AFTER EVERYTHING WE’VE BEEN THROUGH?”

After all, it started as a silly little but it always ensured chaos.

I hope this makes GvK slanders stop slandering the movie just because Ren Serizawa died which is NOT a valid reason to hate the movie. He was obviously a villain and all villains get defeated somehow so...yeah GvK slanders are definitely gonna come after me for this. Also, keep in mind when I mention Ilene in this, I'm talking about Ilene Andrews and not Ilene Chen.

I could cry y’all. Episode 37 was SO GOOD. So good!! It truly felt like a Mimi episode, and it truly felt like Digimon Adventure, in multiple ways. It’s seriously fantastic!

I feel at once super duper relieved that this show is, really and truly, capable of this time of episode, and also super duper confused why, if it could do this, it hasn’t been doing it the whole time??

Anyway, we’ve now had four or five solid episodes in a row, so I’m letting myself feel hopeful again!

This episode is called “Mimi Wars,” but I feel it might be more aptly titled “Sailor Mimi”

In the name of employee rights, I will punish you!

Okay... so as I was watching this episode, I really got the feeling that they were parodying something again. Like last we had a Mimi episode - far far away in the distant past though it was - when they very obviously parodied Castle in the Sky. That’s twice now Mimi’s been compared with a girl with twin tails, Usagi’s pigtails and Sheeta’s braids xD

Although the poses Mimi uses aren’t exact replicas of Usagi’s, though, so maybe I’m wrong. I got the Usagi vibe from her personality even more, so maybe using the poses would have been considered copyright infringement and so they had to change them a little. Or, maybe Mimi is parodying someone else who also uses dramatic hand movements and talks a lot about justice in spite of being generally clueless...

But what I REALLY think is going on is, they’re spoofing the genre in general, while also taking it seriously. That’s important. It’s not just a joke here. This is the girl power episode, in a way, and in my opinion, it’s a better girl power episode than the fare I got used to growing up, which went more or less like this:

Guy: *does something with good intentions but inept*

Girl: Ugh! Men don’t respect women!

Guy: I’m sorry, what did I do wrong?

Girl: I won’t tell you because feminism! C’mon girlfriends, let’s assert our confidence as women by going on a girls night out shopping spree and making a bunch of random guys stare in awe at us for no clear reason!

Girls: Yes! This is third wave feminism!

... that was more or less the formula. It was... awkward. I’d like to blame on “those episodes were written by men who think all feminists are angry feminists,” but I think if I went and checked who the scriptwriters were, there’d be some women in there for sure.

What we got in THIS episode is something I’d actually want my daughter to see. First off you’ve got Mimi, who loves pink and pretty things and comes across as a real girly girl, not to mention a bit of a ditz. And the show’s straight up, “but just because you have flaws doesn’t mean you can’t grow into a great person. Also, being girly is not incompatible with being a boss.”

Mimi doesn’t need to be a man, nor does she need to be a hard ass, nor does she need to be especially kind and sweet to soften her orders. All she has to do, according to this episode, is care about her craft, care about quality, and care about worker conditions.

I mean... a show where the girl boss wasn’t a Russian spy in a former life?? A show where the girl boss isn’t a Stepford wife who got where she is by marrying rich and funding her perfume company that way? She’s... she’s Reese Witherspoon in Legally Blonde. She gets to be flawed and girly and fun-loving and bossy and ditzy all at the same time. She loves diamonds - but diamonds are no longer a “girl’s best friend.” Rather, Mimi herself is the diamond in the rough!

This actually makes her a really good set with Sora. Sora continues to be both a tomboy and very sisterly. Mimi’s very girly but very bossy. Between the two of them, they can conquer the world. Of course, I don’t know that the show would take it any farther than they already have, but I’m just happy to see this development for Mimi at all. We had it to a degree in 99 Adventure, and Kizuna took it a bit further by making her an entrepreneur. Reboot Mimi is a remix of that for the 21st century.

*deeeeeeeeeep breath*

so... back to our regularly scheduled programming!

As awesome as Mimi is, she’s not the only one who’s great in this episode. The others get to let their real personalities shine, at least. We needed this episode sooooo bad like 20 episodes ago... le sigh.

Anyway, we start off having mad camp, for some reason (why aren’t they just staying on Komondomon?? whatev)

Food! They’re going to get food! They’re splitting up and making a plan in order to get food!!! I still miss the “food desperation” of 99 Adventure but hey, at least they’re acknowledging that they need to eat.

Sora advises Hikari and Takeru not to go too far on their quest and Tailmon swears like a knight of the round table to protect Hikari with her life.

Taichi: Oookay... note to self: don’t piss off little sister’s hotheaded partner...

Taichi adds that they’re also counting on Patamon, who is just thrilled to go off and play with Takeru.

Tailmon: *BIG SIGH*

Lol I really love that they’re bringing back the old Patamon/Tailmon dynamic where she’s all grown up serious and he’s got the priorities of a toddler most of the time... It’s Black Widow and Hawkeye bahahahaha

We even get to see them COLLECT FOOD what did I do to deserve this they are COLLECTING FOOD IT’S NOT HAPPENING OFF SCREEN I REPEAT IT’S NOT HAPPENING OFF SCREEN

Taichi even has to warn Agumon not to eat the food becaues they’re supposed to be gathering it to share ;___; omg... we actually get on screen proof that Agumon is a glutton??

Then Taichi tries to “help” by shaking the tree and the tree falls and they -

BAHAHAHAHAHA

humor!!! Poking fun at Taichi even!! Over food!! Because he has a klutz for a partner!!! And because he himself was overzealous!! ;_; I could die of Cute.

Sora absolutely shocks me this episode too. I expected she’d just watch Taichi and Agumon drift away with their folly while sighing and shrugging her shoulders or something.

NOPE

She jumps DIRECTLY UP and into the water without a moment’s hesitation, like they’re going to die without her - I don’t even know what her plan is here, she seems to want Piyomon to evolve and pull them out, but why does that mean Sora has to be in the water too?

I think her sisterly instincts just freaked out on seeing Taichi looking wet and confused and clinging to a tree trunk so she just did the first thing she could think of which was “Get to him!!”

Piyomon then fails to evolve, reason unclear, I suppose she’s hungry... they never do eat though so I’m not sure why she can evolve later xD (probably they eat off screen)

But I mean I just love that we got this bit with Sora. I call it freaking out but she doesn’t seem freaked out - she stays calm and seems decisive and takes action - all good things. It’s just hard to understand her thought process xD But it’s all good info about Sora. (again stuff we needed more of AGES ago)

Now I had thought this was all just a funny bit that was separate to the main story, but this is how Taichi and Sora end up washed up in the rocky area Mimi is. This does mean Koushirou, Takeru, and Hikari aren’t much in the rest of the episode, sadly. Not sure why but the reboot does seem to struggle with writing episodes for the whole group.

Like last week, I’m somewhat miffed that, in the end, the main group finds the stragglers instead of the other way around. It’s even worse this time because at least last episode Koushirou told them where he was and they had a reason to go there. This time they have no idea Mimi’s gonna be there and it’s all a big coincidence. On the other hand... I do think Mimi was born under a lucky star, so that explains it. :P

Taichi and Sora suddenly find them selves trapped Gulliver’s Travels style and they’re both immediately like, “Hmm... something about this situation seems very familiar...”

Taichi and Sora: Oh that’s RIGHT we totally forgot that the pink cowgirl we hand out with is also TOTALLY BATSHIT

D’awww. Our future overlord is just so adorable, I don’t even mind when she flogs us in the street

TBH, up till now they’ve woefully underestimated just how batshit she is. And it’s wonderful.

So Mimi has happened upon some poor, disenfranchised Digimon who are being forced to work for an evil boss who collects the beautiful gems that grow in this area. Like in 99 Adventure, Mimi will have none of this sort of crap. Her reasons, though, have evolved with the times:

Though I joke - like I said before, even though Taichi and Sora are rather mind-boggled by Mimi’s mood swings and fits of passion, and there’s definitely humor there, Mimi herself is not a joke here. We are shown strongly that, however in the clouds her head might be, her heart is not only in the place, it’s also already internalized the fact that people don’t always get treated well in the real world and it’s up to those with power to ensure that are protected.

I mean. At this point, I’m going, “Sorry but ISN’T MIMI THE REAL LEADER IN THIS SHOW?!?!”

Of course she does have another, less lofty motivation... she really likes pretty stones.

Buhahahaha.

Mimi’s names are as creative as they are incredible, just like her. Taichi and Sora have trouble keying in with Mimi due to how changeable she is, but they never talk badly about her or reject her. They never try to wrest leadership from her either! Taichi might think Mimi’s names for the stones are over the top, but sort of sidesteps it and just goes along with her plan.

Only Taichi seems to understand Mimi’s unique power bahahaha.

But back to what I said earlier, about Mimi being the real leader: I don’t know if the show’s gonna keep doing anything with this at all, but I really like that they didn’t NOT do this in order to ensure Taichi’s the only leader. (I mean, Yamato’s so far not made much of a bid for leadership so he’s been pretty uncontested thus far. He also hasn’t had to do all that much leading given how often the group is separated... but I digress)

I love the idea that Taichi can step back and let someone else take the reins when they’re best suited. Which Mimi is, due to her easy ability to make friends and gain trust. Mimi had this ability in 99 as well and it was used in the final battle to muster the troops, so to speak. It ought to have been a bigger deal but wasn’t since she missed most of the final battle :/ But I loved that “social, able to make friends” wasn’t some stupid “Girls talk too much” trait, it was actually something that was useful. This is a great place to take that with the reboot.

At the same time, while Mimi and Taichi both have similar leadership traits, there are places they diverge that potentially make them leaders for different situations. Taichi’s pretty cool and strategic even in emergencies. He was more of a hothead in 99, but Mimi’s always been quick to anger. (And quick to cool down.) As we’ll see in this episode, that’s sort of where Taichi’s true ability lies: he’s serious, determined, strategic, and reliable as well as brave. But this is Mimi’s episode, and Taichi isn’t going to get to be the hero anymore than he (almost) was last week with Koushirou. Because more than one character can have positive leadership traits! Hallelujah.

Quick nip over to Komondomon and the others - Koushirou’s group is going to try to find them, but Komondomon falls asleep. Oh noes. I wish someone (Koushirou) would ask, out loud, “Gee, what are these strange symbols that appear when we communicate via digivice? Do they mean something? How were they assigned?” I really thought we’d get a hint what with all the conveniently colorful gemstones this episode, but still nope.

It’s hilarious. And adorable. I love both that 1) Mimi is an awesome boss while being, in fact, rather bossy, and that 2) in spite of being a boss type himself, Taichi not only listens to Mimi, but he totally indulges her like he’s her older brother or something x’D He wouldn’t be out of line for saying “I have a name you know!” On the other hand, I guess he knows her well enough to understand that she doesn’t mean anything by it, and... there’s no stopping her when she gets like this :P

So Mimi’s plan has worked so far, and she’s got everyone listening to her despite her questionable business practices, and then she... suddenly rushes off in another direction.

Greymon understands Taichi’s heart ;___; and enables him to go after Mimi. I don’t really get why it’s wise to split up given that Taichi can’t fight big rock Digimon without his partner... x’D So I’m going to chalk this up to, Greymon understands that Taichi is, at his core, the team Dad. He’s got to be allowed to worry and check up on the kids, even when it’s not so advisable. Awwwwwwwww.

Indeed, Taichi doesn’t get to be the hero this ep, but small moments like this give us waaaay more character development than always being the hero!

Fortunately Mimi does have her own partner and she’s not afraid of the enemy’s rock hard abs. :P

I didn’t quite understand if he was spitting out the diamonds because he didn’t like them, or he was creating them inside him when eating and then spitting them out like... diamond turds...

Mimi joins him and Gogmamon finds her a formidable opponent in the war of words. Gogmamon argues that all the rocks, all the Digimon, everything here belongs to him and him alone! And Mimi brilliantly counters with:

“Fuck that! They belong to ME!”

x’D He just like... under his breath... “she admits that’s how she thinks of us...” hahahaha... I laughed out loud...

It might not be 3D but this is an excellent evolution sequence xD I haven’t said so yet but the animation in this episode was good! Good for the show anyway. It was smoother than usual despite some mechanical-like mouth movements and more than that, it had character and expression!

okay important question everyone: Taichi = Kermit, Mimi = Miss Piggy... discuss??

So Gogmamon has a pretty cool-sounding attack, “Curse Reflection.” I have often complained that the villains we fight and get new evolutions with aren’t that scary, but Gogmamon not only seemed pretty formidable (if not the smart, I mean he does have rocks for a brain), he also had a good story build up. My one disappointment in this episode is that the ending is so fast and Gogmamon so easily dealt with. This would have been a good time to introduce Rosemon (like how last week would have been an appropriate time for HerculesKabuterimon). But in both cases, we’re definitely supposed to take away at least that these guys are almost there... Anyway yeah, I would have liked a tiny bit more meant to the resolution but.

So here’s ANOTHER cool thing! Taichi notices that Gogmamon rejects the diamonds, and realizes they’re the key to defeating him. But he doesn’t just tell that to Mimi. He asks her “Did you see that?” And guess what - she did!

So even though the show couldn’t resist telling us that yes, Taichi would have been able to handle this situation - it doesn’t even let him give Mimi a hint towards victory. She figures it out for herself! The most we can say he does is point out the diamond, but she understands the implication and is able to use it against Gogmamon through her own intellect.

TAICHI DOESN’T MANSPLAIN Y’ALL. HE’S NOT A MANSPLAINER. HALLELUJAH AND PAST THE PEAS!!

Mimi is very influenced by her hardworking, CEO grandpa, Tachikawa Genichiro, who’s taught her things about business and things about values, and it really reads as if she’s the one who will inherit the family business - like she’s the family investment. You know, the role that traditionally only falls to sons. That’s changed with the world, and apparently Tachikawa Genichiro-jiisan is totally on board with his granddaughter being more than just a pretty heiress!

“You’re fired!” Mimi yells as Lillymon takes Gogmamon down x’D kill me I love it

Like last time (and it sure was a long time ago that we saw it ;_;), the aftereffects of Lillymon’s powers is plants start growing everywhere. This is such a cool effect, I don’t get why it’s not used more. Right now I feel like Mimi/Palmon are the best set in the show.

(I did think it was funny when Mimi gives the diamond to Lillymon to use against Gogmamon and Lillymon acts like Mimi’s making this huge sacrifice since she loves diamonds so much. But 1) it wasn’t the only one, and 2) they were spat out by Gogmamo! that’s gross! that’s got to cut into the value! hahah)

The others finally catch up and the day is saved. Golemon is an employee for life now. Awww.

I gushed about all this before so I won’t repeat myself, but yeah, I’m so happy with this episode.

Lol Sora and Taichi have accepted their places in Mimi’s world, in the end. They might have numbers instead of names and their boss might change her mind about things every five seconds, but other than that it’s a pretty nice gig overall.

Again the art, so sweet. This reminded me of Miyako yelling to Mimi about how she wants to be like her when she grows up in 02 so I capped it.

And I absolutely love this little play on words since it’s in English! Wow!

SO CUTE. How did a Mimi episode kick every other episode out of the water? Scratch that, we always knew Mimi was fantastic. A shojo hero for the 21st century.

Well I said a ton and this is really long now so I’m gonna assume you all get my thoughts on this episode. 9.5/10, really awesome, totally unexpected but perfectly suted to Mimi. I’m so so happy this show seems to have figured things out and remebered that it’s supposed to be freaking Digimon Adventure, it seemed like it forgot for a while there. I just hope we haven’t wasted too much time on those more lackluster episodes, I want so many more stories like this one.

Next week looks like another winner:

The mood maker will be this guy! I’m totally psyched for Yamato and Jou. Taichi’s been important in the past two episodes even though they were centered on Koushirou and Mimi, so I wonder if/when he’ll be involved this time? Or maybe it really will be just Yamato and Jou - my dream combo?? I can’t wait either way.

oh!! okay so i'm gonna go right back for this 🤣

from the ages of about 13-17, i was really obsessed w/ this cartoon called 'regular show' and the shows creator talked about how he was into british comedies when he was a teenager; in one interview mentioning league so y'know. 'course i had to look it up lol

and bc i was already fixed on something, i just...breezed through it

after RS finished (2017), i really just jumped from one fandom to the next, trying to find something i could sink my teeth into for like...more than a couple weeks (ashamed to admit that one of 'em was sherlock at some point, didn't even register mark was in it 🤣🤣). so i didn't think about league for Years after that

fast forward to now, or rather two months ago;

my latest fixation then was 'detroit; become human' and like, last july i'd fucked up my thumb somehow (another story another time w/e); it getting worse from me constantly playing the game, i had to stop and....yeah i started getting antsy because my love for the game was petering out fast and i needed something to fix on again.....christ i'm just realising this makes it sound like a drug DGHRIEUFGH i promise it's just bOREDOM

but anyway, i started thinking back on the shows i watched a few years back for the first time and league started creeping into my mind. and i thought 'oh hey wonder what those guys are up to' so i googled it and found in9 and

yeah! here we are i guess lol

of course i binged the damn show in about 3 days. i'll be honest, i went into this completely blind so not knowing the format, the tone they were going for, i was really bloody confused w/ sardines 🤣 but there was a twist in it.....and that made me watch the second episode, which was extremely different, and as i continued on i started realising what was going on here and very quickly fell in love w/ it. everything about it floored me, and always having been drawn to character/dynamics over story, too ngl - i had to admit that this show was just absolutely tailor made for me 😍😍

and now i'm just gradually making my way through the lads filmography; i'm paused on benidorm atm, on series 6, and posted a bernie clifton fic as you know so! yeah! the fandom is incredibly wonderful, i'm loving it here lmao

Here We Go Again (its a long one)

You know in school when they said “ignore the bully and they’ll go away”? Yeah, that’s a load of bull. It never worked in the school yard and it clearly doesn’t work on SM either.

It’s come to my attention that this guy is at it again, accusing me of another secret identity (seriously, I can’t make this shit up). As if I have time to have kids home 24 hours a day for months, run a household, make videos, and still have a SM presence AND keep track of secret identities??? I mean, it took me 2 days just to find the time to write this. I should be flattered they think I have impressive super powers. I’m not going to focus much time on that, I mean, he’s been proven wrong the last time, he said it about me and my sis before and we proved them wrong. They said they had the IP dress of the person “pretending to be Jess” so my sis offered her’s up proof on twitter for the whole world to see, and they didn’t come back with anything because they don’t have anything, and when Jess posted pics of her place, it’s proof she’s lived in Europe and we don’t, also Bernie-whatever-her-name-was attacked me and my sis on SM and even her friends told her to step back form us cause they knew it wasn’t true-oh yeah, and she’s been blocked off Twitter because of her vile harassment. If there was any sort of proof that I have another SM identity, show it, but you can’t, cause there is none. I’ve never been into crazy conspiracy theories. Most people with 2 brain cells aren’t.

Everyone knows I used to be a shipper. That was never a secret. I never hid it and I never cared to. I shipped from 2015-2017 or 18 ?-whenever the video of Sam and Cait came out saying they weren’t together. I was never an extreme shipper by any definition at all.

So first, it’s important to define what an “extreme shipper/troll shipper” is as William Shatner (WS) has said…

Now look at any of the tweets that this guy has shared of mine? Did I once do anything WS defines as extreme? Nope! Even in 2016, I said I “HOPE” they would get married one day. That is the definition of a “wishful shipper” NOT an “extreme shipper. Nice try guy. Notice all the dates are form 2015, 2016 - 4 to 5 years ago!!!! OMG it’s beyond ridiculous.

Therefore, I’m not an extreme shipper. In fact, I challenge anyone to find ONE tweet, comment, ANYTHING that I have sent to Sam/Cait their SO, or anyone involved in the cast and crew-guess what, you would never be able to because I never have-not once. Theres a lot more about this bullies lies below

Here’s another thing, I’m am not a WS fan, he does his thing and I do mine. I don’t care much either way. If he wants or anyone wants to believe crazy proven wrong conspiracy theories, go right ahead. People who know me don't believe the lies and anyone who does I just don't care about.

BUT I will defend his and other’s right to defend themselves when they’ve been attacked

Now to this tweet by Nancy, sure, seems “nasty” BUT what I find interesting is how this guy takes EVERYTHING out of context. This tweet is in response to an Anti-shipper meme that was making its rounds around SM to shoot shippers (before Sam and Cait’s denial video) Now, as I said with WS, everyone has the right to defend themselves if they’ve been attacked. And being threatened to be shoot someone is very extreme. But hey, there are some antis that are very extreme and are trolls. And I don’t confuse them with regular respectful antis or NTS

I couldn't find the meme, but this is the pic and they wrote that they would shoot us if we said Sam and Cait were together. Talk about extreme.

This one actually made me laugh!!::: this guy says:

The guy admits he has no idea what I’m talking about, but somehow uses it as an example of “extreme shipping” (how one can square THAT circle is beyond me-if you don’t know what I’m talking about, how is it extreme?) What’s most interesting is that that tweet is talking about a video that non other than his friend WS shares of NANCY talking about being a respectful shipper (you know, not sending Sam and Cait and their SO hate, doesn’t mean you have to like them, but don’t send them hate, the key-don’t send them hate!). The video was taken down with our YT page, you can type the link into your browser, and see that it isn’t there anymore.

Here is what I was responding to; you know, what rational people call “context”:

Let’s move on to this “ship on” tweet. Oh yes, LOL Again, doesn’t meet WS’s definition of extreme. But also, let’s see what the Straz exec says during the time I wrote this tweet.

“”fun kind of fantasy world...go on with your bad self”...so yes “Ship on” was in line with what the Starz president said. If it’s aggressive or harassment, then its an issue, Again, non of my tweets were aggressive or harassing.

Let’s see what Cait has said about what crosses the line.

Did I do what they define as “crossing the line”? Nope! Nothing abusive towards anyone from me and definitely NOT anything sent to Sam/Cait or any one associated with them.

There is nothing wrong with shipping properly. Even Elle magazine is a cute shipper article after Sam and Cait went public about not dating.

The tweet about stalking? Yeah, I’m against stalking-always have been. Somehow that makes me an “extreme shipper”??? I’m against calling hotels to see if Sam’s there and who he’s with-you know who you are. I’m against standing outside people’s apartments to spy on them. I’m against taking pictures of people on the beach and trying to pass it off as Sam-ahem…you know who your are. I’m against stalking where people’s family members are buried (we all know who did this) And, like WS, I’m against doxxing (which extreme antis aren’t). I’m against ANY type of stalking.

So lets take a look at the context about me saying getting sources from stalkers is wrong. In 2016 neither Cait nor Sam had gone public about any relationship then. So how did they get the information about Cait's relationship for two years (before she even stated Outlander at this point) and Sam dating other women? Sam didn't go public with any relationship until Mackenzie. So any info would have been from “other sources”. Being against stalking is extreme??? Wow. That’s a new one! LOL. And this is the context of the tweet.

So really, I challenge anyone to share a tweet or comment or anything harassing/insulting that I have ever SENT to Sam/Cait their SO or anyone in the show. Go ahead! Find one tweet or anything of MY comments that fits WSs definition of extreme/troll shipping. I dare you, go ahead. While we’re at it, any tweet or comment about them lying and being together AFTER their video. Go ahead.

Re: canvassing for Bernie. I guess mostly advice on being effective. I went canvassing in Va before Super Tuesday and felt pretty ineffective, we used the minivan app which just showed us dem voters which makes sense right before the election but I’m wondering if I should widen the net going forward? Idk I’d be canvassing in md and wv thanks in advance you truly are the only smart person on this site

i actually did not have the best experience today, but some of my friends did. my friend the one from flint who went on msnbc to tell chris hayes he didn't vote for hillary because he's from flint, he had a really good day and he felt really good about everything. he gave me some good points, which i will share with you in a second. the reason you didn't feel effective in VA is because everyone in VA is a CIA asset and you shouldn't internalize that. i'm thrilled that you get to talk to people in WV and I think policy and talking points are really going to be on your side, and the people are going to be cool as hell (even if they are not-already bernard voters).

i think bernard kinda fucked over michigan in a few ways this year (no beef but it's true), but i am lucky because my city has some extremely experienced campaign people, and i have never really had to experience doing canvassing for any kind of campaign that wasn't run by them, so i was kind of confused about how little direction you were given. they keep asking me to do higher-up stuff like drawing up the voter lists and strategizing and hosting canvasses, but i keep being like, put me on the doors dude that's where i belong. (my palestinian libra dirtbag is exactly the same, he did like three turfs today lol.) i can probably ask my campaign people for tips if you feel like you don't have any guidance.

since we're so close to election day, we'd normally be only targeting likely/confirmed voters to get out the vote, but because things are so crazy, we're also hitting up voters identified as undecided or previously soft-opponent or i think even independent and we're actually still trying to change minds. this is not super usual but it's crisis time! so, to answer your question, i would say i think you should widen the net, especially in WV. the dem voter problem isn't a huge issue where i am because people in lansing flint and detroit are literally just always democrats no matter what, but in other states i think it's more nuanced.

most of the following advice pertains to actually talking to people, but it should cover the range of voters you may encounter. i think i feel the least effective when i "fail" to engage people in a conversation, so i recommend talking to them in more open-ended ways. i share some of our script down below, but in general i like to ask people questions to draw them in, rather than telling people what we're about. get them to talk about themselves, and they will remember bernie sanders as the candidate that listened. i swear to god that works.

today they gave me a sheet (i gave it to a new girl so i can't remember exactly, but) that focused on swinging those voters. it's still "don't shittalk opponent" territory but it's a list of ways to explicitly contrast sanders and biden on the policies, and it made me realize that we're extremely lucky to be put in this position because those contrasts are stark, and they are convincing to poor people in particular.

what's interesting is that i'm no longer leaning into medicare for all to do my arguing, and i think that's gonna make me more effective. obviously bernie is stronger (literally: strongest) on this issue, but the messaging around biden's work on the ACA and his recent dodging about the issue doesn't help us convince anybody. healthcare is the most important thing on the table but it remains inscrutable: i would say dig into it with voters only if they bring it up as an issue that matters to them, or if they're healthcare workers (non-doctor probably), or if you are going to talk about an experience of your own. when you do talk about healthcare, especially in WV, remember bernie's position on medical debt. this is one of his clearest contrasts with biden. make sure you're familiar with biden's history with bankruptcy and debt, because i'd be willing to bet that that's something that's gonna resonate with WV and MD voters.

the trade deals and NAFTA are, simply, the most important thing to talk about at this point, and imo (based on the critical states, michigan most of all) that's what's going to win us this election, if we talk to people about it. hillary clinton lost the election because she did NAFTA--simple as that. biden, too, did NAFTA, but the thing about him--as i'm sure you're noticing--is that people seem to forget absolutely everything about him, and no one knows that he did NAFTA. joe biden is behind loads of policy that was outright bad for industrial workers and ruined lives. it is simply enough to argue "bernie sanders did not do NAFTA" but you'll want to look into his trade deal positions and history, contrast these with both biden and trump. if you're worried about the xenophobic underbelly of this problem, frame it as exactly what it is: a position that resists giving corporations free reign to do whatever they want, to abandon communities, and stomp all over workers.

look over some of bernie's positions on unions and labor in general. neither of the states you are going to are strongly right-to-work states right now, but where i live that's a really important thing. both biden and bernie, interestingly, have proposed a ban on right-to-work laws (it rules that we are in a place where this was mainstream for candidates, but it remains to be seen who will actually pursue this! the literal birthplace of the UAW went right-to-work while biden was VP soooo.) bernie also wants to end at-will employment and has a slate of proposal to strengthen unions. you should tell this to almost everyone. biden claims to support many similar plans, but he has not historically been especially strong in these areas, and his plans are generally less encompassing.

you should be prepared to confront concerns that bernie's strong environmental positions will hurt workers in WV. talk to people about a "just transition" and really emphasize the point that industry, and coal companies in particular, have been empowered to come and go as they please without any consequences. bernard's plans in general are job creators, and the idea is to bring sustainable--as in, sticking--jobs to appalachia and the rust belt, as well as universal healthcare for people made sick by their jobs. universal healthcare is an engine for jobs.

the war in iraq, support for veterans, and social security are extremely huge issues for poor people, probably specifically in WV.

you will also talk to another major electorate: people who just want to beat trump. this is advice from the msnbc friend, who knows: give them all the bernie beats trump lines. only bernie beats trump. convince them that biden will have all the same problems hillary clinton had against trump. if they bring up the alleged low youth turnout on super tuesday, remind them that the south has particular voter suppression issues that impact young and college voters, and that thus far young people actually have been turning out in the north and west. and the youth turnout on super tuesday was still higher than average! remind them that a democrat without the so-called youth vote has never beat a republican in the general in this century. most importantly, remind them that because of our flawed electoral system, you could win every single person on the west coast, but you're essentially never going to win the election if you can't win macomb county, michigan. and macomb county, michigan is full of working class voters who were really hurt by the policies of joe biden and hillary clinton and, increasingly, donald trump, and they are interested in bernie sanders, and it's life or death for them. tell them you have a friend in michigan who has seen this first hand :). (hoping march tenth bears this out for us lol.)

today i talked to a guy who said, "bernie sanders, i think i heard obama likes him." and i said, yep, bernie worked really hard to pass some of obama's best policies. and that's true :)

in general, the sanders campaign relies really heavily on the "bernie story," the personal narrative. i think it probably works. it really works for me, because i can talk to people about the stuff that isn't just the green new deal and loan forgiveness--although you will definitely also end up talking to educated people who will need to be reminded that bernie sanders wants to forgive their loans and joe biden wants them to be saddled with them until the end of time. remember to talk to people about where you work and where you live. work and homes is the most important thing to absolutely everyone. tell them you have a teacher friend lol. talk to people about other people you've met. tell other people's stories.

in case you need guidance in this area, try a script that looks something like this (sorry if this is condescending and you already have seen the scripts, but i kind of modify them based on my strengths as a canvasser):

i'm so and so and i'm with the bernard sanders campaign and we're out reminding people to vote on [date].

do you plan on voting? do you know who you're voting for? can we count on you to vote for bernie? [remind people of the stakes of the election, it's gonna be a close one, talk to your friends and family.] [then get them to think about their election day plan: do you know where your polling location is? what time are you going? do you have transportation?] [try to have support info available for them if they do not have these things. if they're worrying about not being able to get off work, commiserate/be empathetic and don't blame.] [let them know how they can get involved in the campaign.]

if they say they are not voting, sometimes you can respect that (shoutout to jehovah's witness), but if they're on your list, they're probably registered, so you can ask them what kind of issues prevent them from voting. a lot of people will tell you that voting is stupid. you should agree with them (they are right). remind them that you would not normally be canvassing for a democratic candidate or any presidential candidate. you're working with tons of people who never canvassed, or maybe never even voted before. this is the first time in my entire life that i had the opportunity to vote for a candidate that addressed the issues that weigh on me on a day to day basis. a major candidate that hates the two party system and refuses to submit to democratic party nonsense. who has a plan that might actually work. a candidate that has a plan to make everybody's life better, even people who aren't out here canvassing for him. poor people. remind them that bernie sanders is the strongest candidate among non- and first-time voters! this area is a strength of mine because all of this is 100% true for me. i hate electoral politics and i hate the democratic party! if they have other reasons for not voting, see if you have any info that can help them. also remind them that this is a close race, an uphill battle, a difficult fight, and their vote is going to REALLY make a difference. but if we try, we will win.

if they say they "think" they know who they're voting for, they're probably thinking about someone else. you'd be surprised--i am so surprised--how many people have no idea, even up til they get to the polls, or they change their mind last minute. try to prepare a few sentences that are really personal but probably relatable that they can chew on. mine looks something like this: i'm from flint michigan and i've seen the way the government has started to let companies get away with absolutely anything, abandon families that have worked for them for generations, and weaken unions. i want fair wages, fair taxes and for companies to be accountable to their workers and the communities that make them run & make them rich, and that's the bernie sanders platform, and i fear joe biden's ideas are moving us in the same direction that we're already moving. my husband's family worked for GM for four generations but we can't get jobs in flint much less find a place to live. being from flint, and in my own working life, i've watched the power of unions just totally erode. i myself am in a teacher's union and just recently, for the first time in my life,i feel like we can move in a direction where workers have real power in their workplace. especially watching teachers and support staff rally behind sanders, or these huge strikes. sometimes here i also say something about schools! etc.! ! sometimes that's all you get, but sometimes people want to hear more! in either case, this will stick with them.

if they say they are undecided, ask them what kind of issues motivate them to vote, or ask them what they think about sanders. refer to all of the above, but don't argue, use bernie's positions to add to what they are saying, be a good empathetic active listener etc. but also make sure they know that you have shared experiences, agree with them. 99% of the time their issues will be better addressed by bernie, if they are working class people. sometimes they will reveal that they are nervous to vote for sanders. remind them of the size and energy of the base, and the electability arguments listed above. one of the reasons we want to canvass is to remind people--especially in conservative communities, where their neighbors may not even be voting in this primary--that it's okay and in fact very popular to vote for bernie, and we're competitive, and if we make it to the general we're gonna win. but it's not going to be easy [talk to your friends and family get involved go online etc.]

if they are leaning biden but undecided, sometimes it's fine to ask them why, ask them for a pitch. you can tell them that you agree, and that we have had a really strong contest this year, and maybe in another year biden would have been the strongest choice, but bernie's just better in all these areas, etc.

I was having a conversation with my brother about the Joker and I joked to him that I heard one reviewer said that the Joker accidently inspires clown antifa which I found amusing. I was disturbed when my brother said that antifa are almost as bad as the far right. I like antifa persons because I am anti facist too. I havent seen the movie and I just thought the idea of a clown uprising kind of amusing. But not what my brother said. My brother likes Bernie Sanders and does not like antifa. ???

So like a month ago I made my word replacement extension turn “Antifa” into “anti-fascist” and let me tell you what, this ask was confusing as hell until I turn that off, lol.

Now, many people have claimed that Antifa is “as bad as” far-right terrorists. And many more people have spoken in great detail about how that’s absolutely false.

For example, Antifa haven’t killed a single person, and certainly, haven’t performed any mass shootings of soft targets. In comparison, domestic terrorism from far-right extremists in the US has a massive death toll, and it is rising every year. So, as a simple, objective statement of fact: far-right terrorists kill people, and Antifa does not. For most people, that is firm evidence that Antifa is significantly “better” than far-right terrorists.

More funding is required, better training and better internal policies and structures to vette and review the officers is needed. Abolishing them will lead to anarchy. You are correct that Chaz is, but it is a microcosm showing the very things I stand against. I am against racism of all kinds, segregation is a form of racism. The us had a history where they did it too and agreed that it was wrong

Stranger: Yeah it is hard but there is more to the opposite side than just the one thing

You: it's a weird convoluted thing when both are conservative issues

Stranger: That's a difficult one, but I would say that should be discussed and debated but the highest courts. I cannot say from a legal sense one way or the other, morally I can say that it's hard to decide. I think that everyone should get a choice but I am uncertain

You: I just think it's very interesting because most laws here, they govern the relationship between between the government and the people

You: so our freedom of speech laws do not apply to amazon censoring books because they are a private company

Stranger: Which is the difficult thing

Stranger: They are protected by being a private company

Stranger: As it's not just them

You: maybe ^^ we have a free market though, so things that cannot be published on amazon will find an outlet elsewhere

You: provided there is a demand for it

You: that said, it also has some gray area with morality laws

Stranger: That is true but monopoloes make things harder to find

You: kind of like youtube banning pornographic content

Stranger: Yeah I can understand that morally, legally I don't know but I would assume that there is some laws regarding that

You: I mean I'm just used to many various sites having bans of various sorts

Stranger: The uk has some

Stranger: Yeah, but there are protections for them being platforms not publishers

You: I don't think there is any law forcing youtube to ban pornographic content; it's just a branding choice by the company

Stranger: If they are publishers, those protections don't apply

You: like I think they want to be seen as family-friendly

Stranger: Fair enough, would have thought there might be

You: porn sites are not illegal in the US lol

Stranger: Not family friendly, advertisement friendly

You: lol true

Stranger: Sorry I don't know enough to be able to say :) I'm happy to admit that

You: mhm aside from political correctness, I guess I just don't personally see a big problem with censorship in the US

You: although I think I have a different belief than you that I think it's okay for private companies to choose what they want to publish

You: even if the ban content

You: these companies still need to compete

Stranger: Them doing so is fine, but if they wish to be protected as platforms they cannot act as a publisher. I think that's the Crux of their protections

Stranger: It is something that has been going for a while though

Stranger: And I think Trump will have it in his campaign for reelection this year

You: okay ^^

Stranger: But I don't know, he has been interested in censorship and has said he is against it in the past

You: I think people mean different things by censorship

You: but that's just imo

You: there are almost no western countries that experience censorship by their governments

You: so people mean things like censorship at their workplace

You: although imo that's kind of less censorship and more on the political correctness spectrum

Stranger: True. That is very true. But if you don't stop censorship openly, then should it come from government you don't already know you can stand against it

You: but to me, that "political correctness" isn't anything new either; it's as old as time

You: like did we always worry about saying something that would offend our boss?

You: ^^

You: it's always been there

You: I just think people are uncomfortable because bosses have changed in the last few decades

Stranger: It's not just their work place. The new "town square" is has become online. Your freedoms online are not protected despite it being codified in law

Stranger: And you aren't wrong, and coming from China or at least your family, you bring an interesting perspective

You: I feel like in the US we have very little digital legislation

You: the US of is head of hear

Stranger: The world needs a digital bill of rights, to protect us all and our data. But we won't get it

You: but I don't think we have anything guaranteeing that speech on the Internet is free by any regard

Stranger: I would argue we do

You: hm? which law?

You: I like most websites have ToS's and rules banning X Y or Z on their site

Stranger: Freedom of speech and expression

You: oh I mean in terms of law

Stranger: That is what I meant, so that we are free to speak and express ourselves. I also believe that our data should be private and cannot be sold and that should be protected. There are other things that I have heard but it's difficult to remember all those that were proposed

You: ahh

You: yeah we don't have those laws right now

Stranger: Today stuff is okay but you are not protected

You: although the EU has some privacy ones that we don't have in the US

Stranger: The EU doesn't care mostly

Stranger: Some laws only protect some information, I'm talking about all of our information

You: ^^

Stranger: Everything we post and do is tracked, monitored and sold

Stranger: We revel in it, "I was talking about cats/dogs and all of a sudden I got adds for cat/dog products"

Stranger: We hear that often

You: yup

Stranger: Also, with regards to our rights and things, who holds these companies accountable?

Stranger: Take google for example

Stranger: They have been caught tampering with the elections

You: well, again, we have basically no laws about this in the US so there is no accountability

Stranger: They openly censor news and opinions

Stranger: They are a monopoly

You: although some europrean countries have lawsuits whatever with them

You: yup they totally are

You: where are anti-trust laws lol?

Stranger: That's what I think Trump will be looking at, I would if I was in his shoes

Stranger: But they were given special protections

Stranger: Those need to be taken away, the large companies need to be broken up but governments are incompetent

Stranger: I don't trust them to do it well

You: mhm it actually reminds me of south korea actually

Stranger: I mean there are a few senators in the states that I think have the moral fortitude to do so, but I don't know

You: countries are loathe to break up companies that they're proud of basically

Stranger: Yep

You: like samsung in south korea lol?

Stranger: They wouldn't break them up

Stranger: It would do serious damage to the economy and blah blah blah

You: their revenue was like 20% of the entire country's gdp

Stranger: Yep it's a difficult argument

Stranger: And I can understand why you wouldnt

Stranger: That 20% could drop to below 1%

You: anyhow it is getting kind of late

You: it was nice talking to you

You: and you should sleep ^^
