The problem with political correctness is not that "everyone's so easily offended". The problem is that people who use the wrong words by mistake are treated more harshly than people who are actively harmful but are careful about how they phrase it.
Something similar most likely happened with "please" and "thank you". The purpose of saying "please" and "thank you" is to acknowledge that someone is doing a favor for you instead of taking it for granted, so it's a good habit to do and to teach others to do. But the problem is when society places too much importance on using the correct words and forgets about the purpose. Someone who forgets to say "thank you", or who mumbles it too quietly, or who says it without making eye contact is considered rude by society. Someone who's overly demanding, threatening, insulting, etc and shows a complete disregard for the effort needed to accomplish the requests but makes sure they say "please" and "thank you" at the right times is considered polite by society.
A white person who uses the word "colored" by mistake because they don't know the word's history is much less racist than a white person who wants the police to have more power but is careful about how they phrase it. An abled person who uses the word "crazy" in a sentence is much less ableist than an abled person who makes fun of people who are weird but makes an exception when they find out that the weirdness is because of a disability.
"Wokeness" is simply a 21st century rebranding of Political Correctness for kids, and Political Correctness is simply the Marxist policing of people's personal lives and behaviour, ultimately going back to the perversion of the word "correct" that first appeared in Chairman Mao's Little Red Book back in the 1960's, where instead of meaning "factually true", it meant "in line with local Communist Party politics".
You'll understand a lot more of the modern political chessboard if you keep that in mind.
“A keen sense of what is demonstrably right and what is unambiguously wrong is an immutable requirement for effective leadership, so it is no surprise that the moral midgets in charge today are continuously slipping and sliding from one catastrophe to another—and dragging us along for the ride.”
Example number I’ve lost count, of why there is no such thing as cancel culture. That’s just another made up imaginary phrase that wealthy, predominantly white males made up to play the victim. It’s almost hilarious watching millionaires and billionaires complain that they “got canceled” while they’re on international platforms that allow them to speak to millions whenever they want to. But you know who does get cancelled? Disproportionately poor Black and Brown people who have little to no power, and voice our protests against things like Israel’s ongoing brutality. Many people who cannot afford to be unemployed are straight up losing their jobs and having offers rescinded for speaking up. They are the ones who get silenced, except we don’t call it “getting cancelled” when poor Black and Brown people suffer the consequences of white supremacy. We just call it another Wednesday. When people try to hold oppressors to account, it’s called some made up thing like “pc culture” or “call out culture” or “cancel culture,” but when the oppressed speak out against oppressors, it’s called losing your job and getting fired. If cancel culture is real, then it favors the powerful and the wealthy, and only works in one direction: against the marginalized and the oppressed.
I was listening to the radio and there was a station that played Christmas music but replaced "Merry Christmas" with "Happy Holidays".
For example, "We wish you a happy holiday and a happy new year.", "I'm dreaming of a white holiday.", and "All I want for the holidays is you."
This political correctness and war on Christmas has gone too far.
Actually, that didn't happen. They played the songs as they were written with the word "Christmas" in them, because there's no war on Christmas, you dipshits.
