the most compelling thing a guy can ever say is to another guy and it's "i wish you were a girl" . like record scratch. wow the implications that this phrase has. i think it needs its own bechdel test
len hears tommy padding about the kitchen at the crack of dawn, 3 year old leanne already wide awake bouncing around the room and len gently stops her
"hey, sweetheart, can you go and ask your dad to make me a cuppa?"
and leanne beams, running out the room. len can hear her talking to tommy before there's a long pause
"......len - "
he grins. "yes, love?"
there's a clear smile in tommy's voice; "please don't use our little girl as a messenger."
"i'm lazy, tommy."
another sigh. "i know that - "
len scoffs and there's another pause, until he hears the kettle being filled and leanne comes running back in
"papa's making you a tea, dada."
len softens. "thank you, darling."
"last time i do this, len!"
and leanne giggles as len rolls his eyes, whispering "you're a great little owl, leanne."
she lights up. "owl!"
len is about to speak when he hears tommy's warm laugh
"len!"
"what? she never slept through the night!"
len would definitely do things purely to piss tommy off, and not in a 'oh i want him to hate me' way; more a 'it's such a kick to rile him up. i love hearing that man sigh in exasperation bc he's completely done with my shit'
even BETTER if leanne is a kid and she's giggling away at her dads' eye roll, with len grinning at him
len would definitely do things purely to piss tommy off, and not in a 'oh i want him to hate me' way; more a 'it's such a kick to rile him up. i love hearing that man sigh in exasperation bc he's completely done with my shit'
