Group Challenges Arkansas Law That Would Criminalize Access to Some Books
A lawsuit says the edict “forces bookstores and libraries to self-censor in a way that is antithetical to their core purposes.”

by Elizabeth A. Harris and Alexandra Alter
A new state law in Arkansas that could send librarians and booksellers to prison was challenged on Friday in a federal lawsuit filed by libraries, independent bookstores and publishers who said the legislation was unconstitutional.
The suit comes as states and counties around the country are increasingly restricting the availability of certain kinds of books, and as those who oppose such regulations are finding more ways to push back.
The complaint, which was filed in the United States District Court for the western District of Arkansas, said the law “forces bookstores and libraries to self-censor in a way that is antithetical to their core purposes.”
The Arkansas law, which is scheduled to go into effect in August, requires any material that might be “harmful” to minors, including books, magazines and movies, to be shelved in a separate, “adults only” area.
Adam Webb, the executive director of the Garland County Library in Hot Springs, Ark., said on Friday that the law puts librarians in an impossible situation.

“Public spaces are public spaces. Public spaces are not private spaces. Public spaces are not majority spaces,” U.S. District Judge David Nuffer wrote in a Friday ruling granting the preliminary injunction requested by the group. “The First Amendment of the United States Constitution ensures that all citizens, popular or not, majority or minority, conventional or unconventional, have access to public spaces for public expression.”

will fionn ever get himself a love interest? It would be freaking hilarious if he did. I can imagine the puppet shenanigans already.
I like to think he did have a secret boyfriend during his time working at Playfellow, but after the events that lead to Welcome Home's pull from the air and the company's disappearance, they likely broke up and left on a bitter note,,
Fionn seems like the type to be the "bitter ex boyfriend" bgbghbghfd and yeah the puppets would tease the living daylights out of him!

House approves bill targeting publishers for sending schools sexually explicit books
A Tennessee bill that would open book publishers and distributors to criminal prosecution for sending obscene materials to public schools is headed to Gov. Bill Lee.
Tumblr media
by Vivian Jones
The Tennessee House of Representatives approved Senate Bill 1059 in a 71-22 vote. It already passed the Senate last week, and now heads to Lee’s desk.
Sponsored by Rep. Susan Lynn, R-Mt. Juliet, and Sen. Joey Hensley, R-Hohenwald, the bill would empower local district attorneys and the Tennessee Attorney General to criminally charge and prosecute book publishers who knowingly distribute materials that violate state obscenity law to public schools and school districts.
Book publishers and distributors could face felony charges and fines of up to $100,000 per violation, if the bill is signed into law.
“This is only for books being sent to the school,” Lynn told The Tennessean. “Certainly, if there are any sexually explicit books in teacher’s classrooms or in school libraries, they need to come out. You can’t give sexually explicit books to minors.”
The Tennessee Association of School Librarians opposed the bill. TASL’s Legislative Committee noted that the bill could impact book publishers and distributors’ willingness to work with school districts in Tennessee, adding that it “creates unnecessary bureaucracy, limits students’ access to books, and leaves us with lots of questions.”

Man watching Shaw’s death scene is hard to watch because you know Charles felt Shaw’s painfully slow death at Erik’s hands and Charles had no choice but to keep Shaw still else Shaw would’ve most likely blow up whatever nuclear energy he absorbed thus kick starting WW3 and killing a while bunch of people.
So Charles had no choice in the matter but to feel that horrible pain of Shaw’s death by Erik’s hands. It was no wonder he was so angry at Erik, even if you can understand why Erik did what he did, he was careless about his friend’s pain in pursuit of his own mission for revenge.
And then later on in the movie when Erik accidently cripples Charles.
Yeah Charles got the right to be very angry. Charles may have not done anything when Erik was in jail (keep in mind Charles believed at the time that Erik was responsible for the President’s death and considering Erik’s actions in the beach and his agreement to Shaw’s ideology about Mutants and Humans can you really blame Charles in thinking this), but Erik not only made Charles experience the dreadful pain of someone experiencing a slow death (which no doubt would bring about a great deal of trauma.. though tbh Charles’ powers seem to be pretty painful when you think about the fact that the man can read anybody’s mind and so that’s like a bazilion voices in your head. You can go crazy from that. There’s also feelings involved too) but he crippled Charles which I think would break anybody.
I think this is why Erik was shocked that Charles was rescuing him because he didn’t see why Charles would. He pretty much messed up hard with Charles.
Hence the Cuba break-up. Erik really seemed regretful about it actually.
His attempt at making amends by offering a chess game while refusing to apologize for what happened in the beach in the plane scene in Days of Future Past was adorable though
He’s a horrible boyfriend but you know he cares xD
idk why I’m writing this as if they’re going out... they genuinely at times do seem like boyfriend to me lol
