Hello! I’m sorry if you’ve answered this already, but do you have any recs (or anything you want to say for fun) about games with multiple GMs?
Theme: Multiple GMs
Hello friend, I may have recommended games similar to this but I don't know if I've actually fulfilled this prompt before! I'll do my best to show you some interesting games, and you can check out previous posts at the bottom in case there's something there that fits your tastes more.

Questlandia: Second Edition, by Turtlebun.
In Questlandia, you and your friends will invent a world from scratch. It might be fantastic or bizarre, from a remembered past or imagined future. You’ll paint a picture of your society and its people, their laws and customs, how they live and how they dream.
But your society is failing. As you play, your characters will attempt to find beauty and purpose amidst the chaos of a changing world.
Questlandia is a tabletop roleplaying game that creates fantastical worlds in states of change. It may be medieval fantasy in a ghost-haunted kingdom, neo-noir in a roboticized undercity, or microscopic slipstream suburbia in a puddle. The possible settings are boundless, but will always come from the interests of those at the table. Bring in real-world themes that intrigue you, references that inspire you, worldbuilding that follows your curiosity.
Questlandia uses dice and cards to help you create a society, as well as your character’s role in that society. I think this is a good example of a game where every person is a character, but every player is also a GM. You’ll roll against each-other to determine whether or not your society will be able to overcome their troubles. Overall, I think Questlandia is great for telling a story that spans a number of factions or nations.
Pantheon, by harpoon_gun.
4-6 GMs, who are distant Gods with their own desires and needs, and up to 3 players, champions of the Gods who are being forced to do their chores. Take turns toying with the champions, screwing over the other Gods, and building relationships of both the positive and negative variety.
All I know about this game is what I can divine from the description, but I would hazard a guess that much of this gameplay is going to feel a little bit like PvP. The gods that your GMs are embodying will have conflicting goals and desires, so expect to run into a lot of backbiting and backstabbing. The game itself was designed for the Bad TTRPGS Jam, which encouraged designers to fuck around with rules and see where it got them. So no guarantees for a balanced game here - but maybe an interesting experiment!
Fool’s Errand, by Myles Wirth.
You are a group of questants, pledged to a seemingly-impossible task. You must set out alone into the world, each following your own path by which the quest might be fulfilled. They will be long and difficult journeys, with no guarantee of success.
Inspired by legends and travelogues, Fool's Errand is a single-page tabletop game about perseverance in the face of uncertainty and the joy of worldbuilding together. It is prepless, gm-less, setting-agnostic, and can be played on its own or as a setup or interlude for another game. Rather than flattening Player-GM distinctions entirely, it inverts the traditional balance of a ttrpg table; players take turns as "seekers", individual characters traversing the world in search of an impossible goal, while the rest of the table forms the "Chorus", building and refining the world around the seeker as they explore it.
Fools’ Errand asks you to make some travellers and give them a quest that they cannot achieve. The game occurs over a series of turns; on your turn you’ll control your Seeker and declare what you want to do. The rest of the table becomes the Chorus, and build the Location that Seeker is in. The Seeker may then attempt to convince the Chorus that the way in which they will attempt to solve the problem is something they would be good at; and then rolls 3d6. Your result may grant you a Boon or a Burden, which may draw you closer to or pull you farther from your character’s goal. Your characters also have a Resolve pool, which will diminish over the course of play.
I think success is still technically possible in this game, but it’s highly unlikely. What is more likely is that characters will slowly give up on their quest, and join the Chorus in telling the story of who remains.
Bleak Spirit, by potatocubed.
Bleak Spirit is a storytelling game where you and your friends create a brooding, cryptic tale about a stranger in a strange land. Everything is falling apart, crumbling, corrupted, and the wanderer carries the potential for a return to past glories – or the power to sweep away all that remains.
Everyone contributes to the tale, sharing the sense of mystery that comes from no-one knowing the entire truth of what's going on. Everyone takes turns being the world for a scene, introducing lore which hints at the history of the setting. After every scene everyone leaps to conclusions based on the lore which has been revealed – and these conclusions affect the sorts of lore they will introduce when it's their turn to be the world.
Bleak Spirit is meant to replicate the narrative beats of Dark Souls, Hollow Knight, and Bloodborne. It gives everyone at the table a chance to play the Wanderer, a chance to play the World - and a chance to sit as part of the Chorus. The game is very structured, which I think helps the table keep on track, since everyone is going to have a chance to contribute to the story. The Wanderer dictates the character’s actions, but never their internal thought or feelings. The World creates Areas and Locations that the Wanderer will visit. The Chorus will introduce themes, descriptions, and motifs that are meant to make the world full of grandeur, mystique and decay.
This is a game that you might be interested if you like melancholic tones, large gaps in historical knowledge, and collaborative world building. The creator has also created a Cat version of this game, called Cat Spirit!
Two Weeks One Summer, by Rick Cockram.
In Two Weeks One Summer the players take the role of a family visiting a rambling old house in the woods during a summer holiday. The game focusses on the activities of the children of the family as they explore the house, it's grounds and the surrounding woodland. It is a game about finding things to do, creating your own excitement and exploring an unfamiliar environment.
This game divides the participants into two roles: the Children and the Grown-Ups. Over the course of the game, each of these roles will contribute different things to the description of the house, and the events that happen as you stay here. I think this works well for a slice-of life game, but it also might be an interesting source of inspiration for telling stories that are more dramatic or fantastical.

losers playing ttrpgs... losers playing ttrpgs save me...
mike is running a multi-year homebrew ttrpg campaign that is basically just a combination of any rulebook the losers can get their hands on + anything they come up with. i know it to be true. the campaign started as a call of cuthulu campaign but it is now a terrifying mix of call of cuthulu, dungeons & dragons, and cyberpunk with elements from a dozen other games including star wars: the roleplaying game, warhammer, harnmaster and somehow alma mater(??? idk how. but i know this happened). richie was like. "mike man, i love you forever, you're great at this. but why don't i have magic powers?" and he pointed at ben's collection of d&d rulebooks he'd been browsing through and he sounded so earnest and excited that mike knew in that moment he was going to sacrifice the integrity of his cool mystery campaign so richie could cast vicious mockery (99% sure vicious mockery didn't exist yet... don't quote me on that but it doesn't matter because the idea of richie using it constantly is hilarious)
they've all been playing the same characters for years and they keep convincing mike to add more stuff so they're all like super powerful and mike keeps having to come up with more and more powerful enemies.
mike's dice collection is so so so cool he has so many dice, and whenever he introduces a new important character he goes out and gets dice that fit their theme and it is such a moneysink but it's worth it because ooooh pretty dice
after four occasions where the losers decided to adopt a random npc mike hadn't planned anything for, mike has started planning every single npc out down to the specifics of their childhood education. he has endless character sheets hanging out in his room with characters he's created that populate his game world.
okay hanbrough agenda time: bill is the most oblivious guy in the entire world. i know this. (he is the guy who looks at brokeback mountain and goes "what do you mean it was gay? why can't men be friends anymore?" this is based on that one passage at the beginning of the book where he goes on one of those "why can't the curtains just be blue because they're fucking blue" rants lol. he does not know what media literacy is. to me) and mike is. increasingly frustrated and feels like he's losing his mind. he is like head in hands because he asked bill to go to prom with him and bill was like "yeah sure man! sounds great, you're my bestie forever!", and he has no idea what to do, because how is this man this dense, so he just starts having all of his NPCs fall head over heels for bill's character and flirt like madmen. it is painful for everyone involved. except bill. who still has no idea what is going on. that is a very unfortunate month.
mike and ben hang out a lot and ben helps mike brainstorm for the campaign so ben has all this insider knowledge and mike will just look at him before something insane happens in the campaign. they'll like make eye contact and ben will be like holy shit holy shit holy shit :0 and mike just drops some insane new lore. it's very special to me.
#i know it might be like. why isn't ben or bill GM? they're the writers!#but like. idk it just fits. watching mike in it chapter 2 gave me so much unhinged GM energy#that man can spin a TALE. i know it. i also know he can improvise like crazy#they finish a session and he's like. btw guys everything after like the first hour was improvised i hope it didn't feel to awkward#and the losers are like... wdym you didn't perfectly plan all of that?????#bill could not run a campaign to save his life. he does not know what chekhov's gun is. he does not know what nuance is.#he would be trying to run a campaign and the losers would do ANYTHING even slightly off the hyperspecific plan he made#and he'd start trying to railroad everyone and everyones just getting increasingly stressed#basically it would be a bad time#that man can't do improv i know it in my heart#ben on the other hand is a massive ttrpg nerd and has run multiple one shots with the losers#he's not big into long campaigns like mike is but he loves coming up with new campaign ideas#he also collects ttrpg rulebooks and is always looking for weird ones to try out with his friends <3#they all have so much fun doing character creation with ben too. it's great.#i'm not done with this btw. i have so much more to say#i love ttrpgs and a party is the highest level of friendship. this is true#my high school best friends were literally just my d&d party#and cyberpunk (the ttrpg) is how i made friends in college lol#posts afflicted with a strange sickness#it stephen king#it 2019#it 2017#mike hanlon#bill denbrough#ben hanscom#hanbrough#richie tozier

I love over-analyzing media and I have pulled magnificent theories and headcanons out of my ass on the tiniest crumbs in other fandoms before BUT
y'all might be taking this improvised comedy show that is greatly determined by dice rolls a little too seriously

honestly Max’s lil fascination with affair is unexpected but v adorable. I would fully expect him to take drastic measures to stay as far away from babies as humanly possible.
he rly said
Tumblr media
the thing about max is that he doesnt dislike babies, he just finds them simply terrifying like, what if im holding it and it slips and dies (he feels the same way about puppies fun fact). but yeah affair is *elsa's* baby brother, completely harmless in his eyes

Is there a post explaining wtf is going on in your curse of strahd campaign? b/c it sounds very interesting and i want to know more.
nothing really comprehensive yet for the sake of spoilers but we are almost done so i can elaborate!!
basically. and without some important details that are still unknown to the party. i scrapped most of the major plot points and themes on account of they suck and started with this: centuries ago, my strahd was a researcher who came to what would eventually become his barovia in search of a cure for vampirism, a place that had long been abjured and sealed with powerful druidic rites by the indigenous people there (and is also fantasy mongolia, not fantasy romania). he was overtaken by the source, a strange underground city that calls itself barov, which feeds on and twists obsession. ever since, he's been its plaything-- it built barovia around him by pulling from his worst memories and fears-- which just so happen to include a misty romanian forest where the sun never shines-- and separated it from the material plane. when it wanted more power, it started luring more people to itself and set them in this kind of looping dance, keeping those who had fallen prey to obsession alive for centuries or reincarnating them in slightly different iterations and making them sort of play out lifetimes' worth of chasing the things they were fixated on so it could feed from them. during brief moments of lucidity, strahd started studying the curse he now had in earnest and figuring out a plan to use himself as a conduit and sort of infinite source of suffering and seal barov within himself, freeing the rest of barovia, but doing this meant. becoming that conduit, letting barov force him to kill everyone who would otherwise have stopped him and been exposed to barov directly. before the current party arrived, there was a party who seemed poised to finally break the cycle, stronger and more cunning than the rest, able to use the druidic magic that once kept barov sealed away. however, they ran out of time to plan their attack when one of their party started succumbing to vampirism, and were forced to go unprepared. they lost horribly, dashing most people's hopes of ever being free and handing over what used to be the keys to defeating barov-- the sunsword and radiant and druidic magic-- as well as their own bodies directly to barov, who forced strahd to turn the entire party into thralls. had the current party gone the route of every before it, strahd would have killed them easily and likely finally ascended to the state of a perfect conduit and managed to essentially absorb the entirety of barovia. however, one of the party members, kiki, started to seem to barov as perhaps an even more perfect host, more innately powerful than strahd as a sorcerer made from incredibly volatile magic, tied to the far realm as barov itself is, and infinitely more naive. at a pivotal moment, barov--which, to kiki, usually manifests as his father-- managed to convince him to leave the party and give himself over. no longer needing strahd, barov (somewhat) set him free and is in the process of mining kiki for power, shaping him into a host, and altering barovia alongside it. the remainder of the party is sort of going through the motions nonetheless, and are currently being tested by vost, a silver dragon and one of strahd's oldest friends killed by him almost immediately after strahd's ascent to power, in order to receive an important artifact called the sunstone that is linked somehow to the moonstone they already have and related to both barovia's history and the old rites that sealed it. meanwhile, strahd is half under house arrest in vallaki and half part of a think tank composed of him, ez d'avenir, and lady fiona wachter trying to figure out. how to proceed.
the party has also had their own set of. discoveries about their own ties to barovia and their lives before it-- yew (monk/druid) learned he's the adopted heir to the abdicated unseelie throne; elegy (aasimar paladin) learned their angelic guide gardenia sacrificed their own power and ability to ever return to the heavens to save them from losing their soul and autonomy as punishment for betraying a divine order and have since been undergoing a sort of post-angelic transformation alongside gardenia after devouring the abbott of krezk; cedar (cleric) learned he had secretly been created in and raised in barovia's past by one of barovia's gods, the moonmother, and contains a fragment of an old god given during the original rites to seal barovia; rook (paladin) learned their goddess allowed their sister to die to gain them as a champion and, as her domain is easily corrupted by obsession, sent her now-dying exarch to barovia in her stead to take her place as rook's god and power source, lel (vistani dhampir ranger/rogue) learned that the nonlinear timeline of the vistani, a nomadic interplanar civilization, hinges on his survival and ability to escape barovia himself despite having always been afflicted with vampirism, as he closes the loop on the origin of their unique ability to leave and enter barovia as long as they are accompanied by someone who has left barovia before; gravy (bugbear artificer) found her daughter after twenty years apart and learned that, after being taken by barovia's mists, she had been lovingly raised in vallaki by the late gadof blinsky and has grown into a beautiful and talented bear intent on finding and fixing an ancient creation meant to hunt vampires. fringe (late fairy cleric) was killed by the hag morgantha's daughters in their desperation to complete a ritual they hoped would send them back home to the feywild, and in his last moments learned that hags (my beloved) are the nearly-inevitable result of a fey losing their anchor, a magical source or ideal they have tied their soul to. instead of the sworn enemies of his goddess, queen of the seelie fey titania, hags mostly belong to her sister's unseelie court and lost their anchor through no fault of their own when she died after giving up her throne in the feywild to raise the child she had found in the woods, who just so happens to be yew, and that unseelie fey are simply. any fey that titania has banished or that chose to leave, which, had he survived, would have included him. after kiki (sorcerer/barbarian) left, vost sent one of his revenants, monsoon (barbarian), who was killed by strahd alongside him, to accompany the party and, now that strahd is no longer their target, ensure that kiki is dealt with and, if necessary, killed. currently they're also hanging out with raisa (werewolf druid/fighter), who is the younger cousin of danya stoyanovich, leader of one of barovia's two werewolf dens-- both are afflicted by a deadly curse that has sent generations of their family to an early, rotting grave, and who were promised a cure in the gifting of the moonstone by lel but which. was denied to them when the party gave it to arka toranescu instead to save aurelia, her daughter and the party's friend.
when we left off, the party had just met vost, whose job as the holder of the sunstone is to test their abilities and resolve to the task of dethroning barovia. to throw off his faithful employee monsoon, however, vost took the extra precaution of binding his own skeleton into a puppet form to attack the party alongside the hollow spirit he usually manifests as. if the party gets the sunstone, they will then get to decide who to use its innate powers to save this time (lel, wisely, promised it to danya Again without consulting the party <3) and then, after reconvening in vallaki, are off to pay a visit to their good friend kiki!! tl;dr i scooped all of the original CoS module out with a melon baller and replaced it with a story about undeath as a disease of the soul that feeds on what captivated you in life, a fey throne with no ruler and an entire kingdom reeling from its loss, family and the powers that capitalize on the bonds it creates, selfish gods who treat their champions like pawns and their angels as only slightly more valuable, hubris and desperation and trifling with things you do not comprehend and have no place interfering in, and the unspeakable and unfathomable horror that exists in the spaces between reality. also there are a lot more milfs.

LITERALLY, I’m seeing other teams have fun PR and I get so jelly. I just know Lou is behind all this.
Also, minimal changes to the roster which is... Listen I love my DILFs okay? But we’re about to spend another season barely making (if not, not making) the playoffs but it’s whatever I guess. We might see more changes next year since Marty and Cal both have expiring contracts. And with a team that needs to get younger and faster...
Feeling very pessimist about next season but Lou just sucked the excitement out of me
is it so much to ask for walk in pictures… maybe even twenty one questions every once in a while
i would simply like for crotchety old hockey execs to stop catering to their 60+ year olds market and realize that social media is how you market the team now
also facts @ the same roster. atp we’re getting an entirely brand new team in 4 years when all of them retire at the same time, since majority of the team is all within like three draft years of each other 💀

Ok, the boss is no more! There were some super stressful moments but surprisingly we all survived o:
My animal companion got hit with disintegrate, but we had hero points to make him avoid it. I would cry actually, because disintegrate means no resurrection x_x
The war is prevented! At least this one, because Cayden's party is right at the center of a much bigger one just starting. Today we saved the country. Cayden is trying to not even save the whole world, just maybe slow the whole thing down and save as much people as possible...
#majek says shit#I have the diamond for a raise animal companion spell but it can only be used if you have a body and even then there are restrictions#and Kela wouldn't even know about it until after the fight because she got trapped between a wall of force and a stone golem?#or a stone Big Humanoid Fucker idk what that technically was but it would've killed me pretty fast#and it all was in an area of supernatural darkness emanating from the powergamer's character...#which interfered with so much of everyone else's actions and we even addressed it before the session that it's a bad idea to cast this#but its ok because HE will be able to see through it and HE won't be targeted easily:))))#he also almost ended the encounter in the first round of proper combat...#by using mechanics so outrageous but technically ambiguous enough that our GM can't deny them by using only RAW...#and he prefers to settle arguments by going as RAW as possible...#and it wasn't a problem until now when we have a player who exploits to an actually unbelievable extent#we shared our character sheets online yesterday and I finally saw his... still have no idea how the character works#because like half the stuff is custom and missing from the app#he has 9 AC in the app and allegedly 32 AC before buffs...#and the GM says the math checks out but 1. nobody saw that math besides him and 2. so far he trusted that player without too much questions#and only recently he actually realised he's been manipulated multiple times when me and some others started dismantling that players actions#I so hope this was the last session with that person#the worst thing is I think he's an ok guy when I'm not playing any kind of game with him#and I understand different people find enjoyment in different aspects of games - his being figuring out how far he can go with the rules#and there are whole groups of people who like to play like that and enjoy the challenge of making the most broken “build” possible#but the rest of the group are not that kind of people. maybe some like to have fun with researching what's possible#but it's never the purpose of the game and these things dont find their way into the actual game#I'm actually considering the possibility of just leaving the campaign if he stays there... I know I whine a lot in the tags#about different players that get on my nerves for various reasons. it sounds like I'm never happy about anything#but our group is big and we play together as a friend group in 4 different campaigns now (I'm in 3 of them)#and every one of these smaller groups has it's issues. sometimes it's the characters not matching and sometimes different expectations#or interpersonal stuff that can be worked out. this here is not a group composition issue because the powergaming attitude is everywhere#it's impossible to talk casually between sessions and confronting the guy leads to like actual temper tantrums#literally said “the fuck do I care if the party dies I'm not gonna be useful anymore” after the GM gave him feedback to maybe ease it up#he never says things like that when the gm or me are present but we still get info. he just can't be confronted by the gm like that

Travis Dermott knew that he would draw attention with his actions in the Coyotes’ home opener against the Anaheim Ducks at Mullett Arena on Saturday. The Arizona defenseman just hoped that the spotlight might shine on the issue that he was addressing, not on him.
“You don’t really want to go against rules that are put in place by your employer, but there’s some people who took some positive things from it,” Dermott said. “That’s kind of what I’m looking to impact.
“You want to have everyone feel included and that’s something that I have felt passionate about for a long time in my career. It’s not like I just just jumped on this train. It’s something that I’ve felt has been lacking in the hockey community for a while. I feel like we need supporters of a movement like this; to have everyone feel included and really to beat home the idea that hockey is for everyone.”
“I won’t lie,” said Dermott, who is playing on a one-year, two-way contract. “From the outside, it’s easy to see that I’m putting my career on the line for something. I definitely went through some emotional ups and downs that night, not regretting anything by any means, but I’d love to have maybe done a couple of steps a little different by making sure that everyone was aware of what was going on before I did it.
“I don’t want to put my teammates or my coaches or my GMs or the equipment managers in any kind of bad light when it’s their job to kind of look out for something like this happening. It was definitely something that I did just by myself and was prepared to kind of deal with whatever repercussions the league decides to push towards that. I’m not going to back off and say that this battle is won, but we’re going to find better ways to do it.”
As Dermott noted, LGBTQ+ inclusion is an issue that he has supported for a long time. Without getting into specifics, Dermott said the issue is personal for him because it impacts people close to him.
“I’d be lying if I said I haven’t shed tears about this on multiple occasions,” he said. “So yeah, it’s something I’m definitely very passionate about.
“I’ve met a lot of people that from the outside, it looks like they have everything going right in their life and they have a smile on their face every time they talk to you. But sometimes when we get closer to people and get comfortable enough for them to open up to you, you can see that there’s some pretty dark stuff happening to some good people. It doesn’t take too many times encountering something like that for it to really change someone.
“I’ve been blessed to have some of those opportunities put in front of me to really change my view of what being a good person means; what being a good father and a good example and role model means going forward. You really see how people are hurting and it’s because of a system that maybe no one’s intentionally trying to be malicious about, but until you’ve really had that first-person experience seeing people hurting from it right in front of you, it’s tough to kind of take steps.”
It would be a surprise if the league handed down any sort of punishment. The optics alone would add to the public relations damage that the original ban created. Even so, Dermott reiterated his desire to bring the entire franchise into the fold before he takes similar actions in the future, but he also made it clear that he will not be silenced on the topic.
“It’s not like I’m shutting up and going away,” he said. “I know more questions are going to be coming. We’re just going to be as prepared as we can be to just spread love. That’s the thing. It’s gay pride that we’re talking about, but it could be men’s health. It could be any war. It’s just wanting world peace. Everyone’s got to love each other a little bit more.
“Like my parents said growing up, ‘How awesome would it be to be the guy that people look up to?’ That’s what really hit home when I was a kid, especially from my mom. You want to grow up and be that guy. You want to be the guy that’s having the impact on kids like NHL players had on you. If they had been racist or bigoted, that’s going to have an effect on you.
“With how many eyes are on us, especially with the young kids coming up in the new generation, you want to put as much positive love into their brain as you can. You want them to see that it’s not just being taught or coming from maybe their parents at home. They need to see it in the public eye for it to really make an effect.”
