Miraculous Descendent Chapter 53: Fetching Victory
Previous Chapter
Dark Owl holds Stormy Weather over his shoulder while she recovers from Canine's attack. They're resting on a roof a few blocks from the school to catch their breaths. However, Dark Owl is getting slightly restless since he's leaving his object unguarded and at risk of being discovered.
"Hurry up and recover, Stormy Weather. We need to get back there before they find out about Albert." Dark Owl tells her as he looks toward the girl over his shoulder.
"That girl's voice is like being in the center of a storm." Stormy Weather groans as she tries to get out of Dark Owl's grip to signal she's feeling better.
She holds her head for a second, but it looks like she's recovering.
"Yes, we must be careful around her." Dark Owl nods in agreement before Hawkmoth interrupts them.
"I'm glad you two see the danger this new hero poses. I was caught off guard by her arrival as well. Her power seems to be a form of hypnosis that relies on her voice. Luckily, there's a way to counter this. If you can't hear the commands, they shouldn't work. However, it would be best for you to try and keep moving while fighting her, just in case. This power is similar to mine and Ladybug, a continuous one from what I saw." Hawkmoth explains to the two.
"Understood, Hawkmoth. Worry not. We can still salvage this situation and save Paris from these false heroes and their hypnotizing assistant. Hoo hoo." Dark Owl hoos in acknowledgment at Hawkmoth's instructions.
"Be careful. The average Miraculous wielder has around two powers. So, she may be hiding another ability or two besides her hypnotism." Hawkmoth warns before ending the link.
Dark Owl nods in acknowledgment before turning toward Stormy Weather.
"You heard Hawkmoth's warning. We need to tread carefully while fighting this Canine person. By now, the other heroes are likely there as well." Dark Owl informs her.
Stormy Weather grunts in frustration.
"Great. So, we're outnumbered, too. Fine. I'll show them how dangerous it is to face a storm." Stormy Weather says determinedly while tapping her umbrella in her other hand.
However, her attention is drawn to a small, orange object moving at high speed toward them.
"What is that?" Stormy Weather questions in confusion as she narrows her eyes while trying to concentrate on it.
A little while ago with Ladybug and Canine. Canine is explaining her last power to the bug-themed heroine.
"My last ability is called Fetch. It allows me to send this rubber ball after anything it's touched while I'm transformed and retrieve it." Canine explains.
Ladybug looks at Canine in surprise when she explains her power, realizing how powerful it is for dealing with Akumas.
"What did Stormy Weather have on her while you were fighting?" Ladybug quickly asks the newbie heroine.
Canine blinks in surprise before saying.
"She had her umbrella on her. Do you think that's where the butterfly is?" Canine asks.
Ladybug quickly nods.
"Yes. However, it could also be in one of her hair ties like the last time I fought her. But I think it's more likely to be in her umbrella." Ladybug explains, causing Canine to nod.
"So, what do you want to do?" Canine asks.
Ladybug thinks about it for a second before turning back toward Canine.
"What could the other Akuma with her do?" Ladybug asks to get more information on the Akuma she saw before.
"He seems to be based on a superhero. He had a lot of gadgets on him. Things like smoke bombs, boomerangs, and even a way to fly using some sort of jetpack cape." Canine quickly explains.
Ladybug's eyes widen slightly as she hears what he can do, but she quickly calms down and asks another question.
"Do you know where his butterfly might be?"
Sabina shakes her head apologetically.
"No. I think it might be in either his cape or belt. But I'm not sure." Canine says in a disheartened tone.
"That's fine. At least we have an idea of where it is. Let's focus on Stormy Weather since she's the easier one right now." Ladybug quickly consoles the other girl.
Canine nods.
"So, you want me to bring Stormy Weather's umbrella?" Canine asks for clarification, causing Ladybug to nod.
"Yes." Ladybug nods.
"I'll be on my timer after using Fetch. I won't be able to help you with Dark Owl." Canine warns her worriedly, but Ladybug smiles at the girl.
"Don't worry. I have an idea of how to handle him. Worse case, I can hold him off until you and Cat Noir can come back to help." Ladybug tells her, causing Canine to nod with a smile, happy to know Ladybug trusts her to come back to help.
"Alright." Canine nods before taking the rubber ball off her collar and cradling it with both hands.
She closes her eyes and envisions Stormy Weather's umbrella before saying.
"Fetch."
After she says that, the rubber ball glows orange and flies out of her hands after the Akumas, leading to our current situation with the Akumas.
Stormy Weather is watching it in confusion as it speeds toward them. However, Dark Owl's eyes widen in horror, and he looks toward Stormy Weather alarmingly.
"Stormy Weather, stop it! It's probably one of the heroes' powers!" Dark Owl exclaims.
The weather girl's eyes widen, and she quickly raises her umbrella to block the incoming object. Unfortunately, that's what the rubber ball is after. When it crashes into the shield, the umbrella is covered in orange energy before vanishing.
Instead of the rubber ball falling to the ground after the impact, it flies back in the direction it came toward Canine and Ladybug. Much to the villains' shock as they watch it leave.
Once the shock wears off, Stormy Weather releases a panicked scream and bolts after the rubber ball to get her umbrella back.
"My butterfly is in there!" She screams at Dark Owl urgently as she races off.
Dark Owl's eyes widen in horror before he flies after the other villain, hoping to stop the two heroes from destroying her umbrella and saving his partner.
Despite their efforts, the rubber ball is far faster than them and easily navigates through the Paris streets, gaining distance from the villains until it lands in Canine's waiting hands. When it does, the umbrella materializes and falls into Ladybug's arms.
"Nice job." Ladybug compliments Canine before they hear Canine's collar beep, signaling she's on a time limit.
"Thanks. Good luck." Canine wishes before running off to find somewhere to hide until she's ready to transform again.
Ladybug watches her leave before looking at the umbrella and breaking it in half. When the butterfly is freed, she doesn't waste any time and catches it in her yo-yo.
"You're not getting away from me this time," Ladybug tells it as she captures it with a glare.
With the Akumas, a panicking Stormy Weather suddenly changes back into Aurore in mid-air, and she plummets toward the ground with an unintelligible scream that almost sounds like her saying, 'Not again!' if you pay close enough attention.
Dark Owl's eyes widen before he dives toward and catches Aurore before she can hit the ground.
"Thank you, Lady-" Aurore sighs in relief before she realizes who caught her and freezes in fear.
Dark Owl realizes this and looks toward Aurore calmly.
"Not to worry, Young Lady. I'm not going to hurt you. My only targets are the Miraculous wielders." Dark Owl tells her before landing and setting the girl down.
"You should get home." Dark Owl advises before flying off again.
Aurore blinks in surprise as she watches the Akuma fly off before today's events catch up with her, and she cries.
After leaving Aurore on her own, Dark Owl says.
"Albert. What's your status?" Dark Owl asks his cybernetic butler worriedly.
"Not to worry, Dark Owl. I am fine. The Miraculous wielders haven't realized that I exist." Albert calmly informs Dark Owl in a nasal voice through Dark Owl's earpiece.
Dark Owl sighs in relief when he hears this and continues to fly toward the school.
"I'm in trouble. Stormy Weather has been defeated, meaning I'm left on my own. I can't let the heroes realize Albert exists before I claim their Miraculous." Dark Owl mutters as he flies toward the school.
When he gets to the school, he lands on the roof and looks around urgently, pulling out some boomerangs as he does so. However, he's soon hit with a red-tinted magnetic wave and slammed into a metal pillar.
Dark Owl quickly shakes off the impact and looks around until he sees Ladybug in her Electro-Magnetic Seams suit glaring down at him from behind her yellow-tinted goggles.
"Ah, Ladybug. It's about time you showed up. Where is your partner? Is he hiding away, waiting to pounce on me? I didn't think either of you would show up and were planning to leave it to your new ally." Dark Owl states calmly as he looks toward Ladybug.
That gets a more intense glare from Ladybug, and she says.
"I would never force someone to fight for Paris alone."
"That's good. However, you and Cat Noir are the ones endangering Paris by continuing to use those Miraculous. Hand them over for the safety of Paris." Dark Owl orders while pointing toward her earrings before holding his hand out expectantly.
"We're not the ones who are the problem. Hawkmoth is the one who is using innocent people to hurt others. You need to wake up and see that he's manipulating your sense of justice." Ladybug tries to appeal to Dark Owl.
"Enough of your lies. If you're unwilling to hand over the Miraculous, I'll have no choice but to use force to acquire them from your dastardly disloyal hands to save Paris from Hawkmoth's crusade of terror." Dark Owl announces, his words causing Ladybug to blink.
"People still use dastardly and crusade?" She can't help but ask in confusion.
Her confusion is short-lived, thanks to Dark Owl throwing a few boomerangs at her, causing her to act fast. She fires another magnetic wave and sends the boomerangs back toward Dark Owl, causing him to dodge. As she does this, she jumps down to be on the same level as him.
"I know you're not a bad person. People told me about how you helped them escape when Stormy Weather appeared." Ladybug says as she continues trying to appeal to Dark Owl.
"Yes. I did because my first priority is protecting the innocent, like any good superhero. Because of that, I refuse to allow Hawkmoth's terror to continue and plan to claim your Miraculous." Dark Owl exclaims as he throws another set of boomerangs.
However, instead of all heading straight toward Ladybug, one curves out over the courtyard to hit her in the side. Ladybug's eyes widen, and she instinctively follows that one, getting hit by the other two and pinned to the wall behind her by her shoulder. The other boomerang, thrown to the side, then indents itself into the wall close to her, close to her face.
"I'm sorry. But I can't allow you to get in my way." Dark Owl says calmly before running toward Ladybug, intent on claiming the Miraculous as quickly as possible to prevent Ladybug from attacking or drawing out the battle.
However, Ladybug fires electricity toward Dark Owl. The electricity hits him and sends him skidding back, giving Ladybug enough time to free herself from the wall.
"I need to take his belt." Ladybug thinks before pointing her palm at Dark Owl and firing a magnetic wave to try and rip the belt from his waist.
Feeling his waist pulled, Dark Owl tries to keep ahold of his belt. But he can't seem to keep it from slipping, especially when Ladybug starts using both hands to increase the strength of the magnetic wave.
Realizing he needs to try something else, Dark Owl shouts.
"Albert, activate flight mode!"
"Right away, sir," Albert states before Dark Owl's cape shifts to jetpack mode, and he tries to use it to escape.
However, he can't keep a hold of his belt and loses it to Ladybug. When she gets the belt, she stops the magnetic wave and causes Dark Owl to fly through the roof after he loses the resistance, keeping him in place despite his jetpack being on at full blast.
She then uses her enhanced strength to rip the belt in two. Sadly, the butterfly doesn't seem to be in it. Something caught her attention when she tried to take the belt, though. It's what Dark Owl yelled in his panic.
"Who's Albert? Is it Hawkmoth's real name? That wouldn't make sense, though." Ladybug thinks while looking at the belt in confusion.
She shakes that information off for now and focuses on her next target.
"The butterfly wasn't in the belt. So it might be in the cape, like Canine said." She thinks right as Dark Owl returns.
"How dare you steal my utility belt. I will not allow your transgressions to continue any longer." He warns Ladybug with a glare.
Ladybug glares back at Dark Owl. But before anything else can happen, Canine's rubber ball slams into the side of Dark Owl's head. Dark Owl is sent into the wall while Canine runs up behind Ladybug.
"Sorry, it took me so long." Canine immediately apologizes to the other girl.
Ladybug gives Canine a relieved smile before saying.
"I'm just glad to see you're alright. The butterfly wasn't in the utility belt." Ladybug informs her while showing the two halves of the utility belt.
"Then it must be in the cape." Canine nods before looking to Dark Owl while he's trying to shake off the hit.
"So, the devious dog has returned to her master to try and help her master in her nefarious plot for stardom. Then where would the treacherous alley cat? Or did the master replace them with your new partner?" Dark Owl asks.
That gets an angry look from Ladybug.
"I wouldn't replace Cat Noir! I don't know what's taking him, but I didn't replace him. Also, we're not looking to become stars. We're trying to stop Hawkmoth!" Ladybug yells at him angrily.
"I highly doubt that. You could have easily stopped Hawkmoth long ago and saved so many had you handed over your Miraculous. You obviously aren't willing to let go of that power you have despite how doing so will save lives." Dark Owl calmly tells her.
That gets a glare from Canine.
"That won't save lives. We don't know what will happen if Hawkmoth gets those Miraculous." Canine adds.
"Not true. Hawkmoth has told me about his motive. He's after the Miraculous to save someone he holds dear to his life. Should he gain the Miraculous, no more harm will come to Paris. So, hand them over so I can bring peace back to Paris." Dark Owl orders.
Hearing his words causes Ladybug and Canine's eyes to widen. Seeing their expressions, Dark Owl continues.
"Now, do you see why I wish to claim the Miraculous for justice? Giving him the Miraculous will solve everyone's problems. We should work with him to make Paris a better place instead of fighting." Dark Owl explains.
Ladybug looks slightly hesitant when she hears that, wishing to believe everything can end in such a simple manner. She gives Dark Owl her Miraculous, Dark Owl gives it to Hawkmoth, Hawkmoth saves his loved one and gives up being a villain, and everything goes back to normal. The scenario is very tempting to her. Despite knowing it could be a lie. She doesn't know how to continue this conversation. Luckily, Canine seems to know.
"Is there any way we can talk to Hawkmoth about this? Maybe we can come to an agreement." She suggests.
Sabrina remembers enough of her dad's stories about trying to appeal to different people to at least have an idea of what to do.
In his lair, Hawkmoth grimaces at Canine's suggestion. He then forcibly takes over Dark Owl's mind and begins speaking through him, much to the girls' shock as they back away in surprise.
"If only it could be that easy. Sadly, I can't risk my identity getting exposed in any way. My apologies. Besides, how do I know you will help me or that Cat Noir isn't hiding while waiting for the right opportunity to pounce." Hawkmoth states.
"How do we know you won't use the Miraculous for something else? We can't just give them to you after everything you've done." Canine argues back.
"Yes, that's something we can agree on. So, it would seem we're at an impasse. You have no reason to trust me, and I'm not willing to risk letting you find out who I am." Hawkmoth calmly states before ending his control.
A disoriented Dark Owl shakes his head and looks around in confusion as he tries to understand what happened. He quickly realizes the heroes are still ahead of him and gets in a combat stance.
"Now, shall we handle this the old-fashioned way with fist-o-cuffs?" Dark Owl asks, causing the two to blink again.
Deciding to forget about Dark Owl's way of speaking, Ladybug looks toward Canine.
"Try and get the cape," Ladybug tells her before firing electricity out of her palm toward Dark Owl.
Canine nods and charges toward Dark Owl with her rubber ball in hand while he dives to the side to avoid Ladybug's attack. Canine throws her arm forward and tries to hit the cape with her rubber ball but can't. Instead, Dark Owl uses his martial arts prowess to grab her outstretched arm and flip her over his shoulder. Canine stares up in shock as Dark Owl is about to reach for her Miraculous. Before he can, Ladybug launches another blast of electricity to force him to separate from Canine.
Getting tired of Ladybug's attacks, Dark Owl charges toward the other heroine while leaving Canine on her back. Ladybug isn't letting him get close, though. She quickly fires a magnetic wave at him and forces him to stop. He does his best to struggle against the force keeping him in place but is struggling to do anything without his utility belt. As he tries to escape, Canine shakes off her surprise and quickly rolls off the ground, looking toward Dark Owl.
Seeing he can't move, she throws the ball at Dark Owl and hits his cape. Once it returns to her, she activates Fetch and has it take off the cape before returning to her again. After getting the cape, Canine wastes no time ripping it in half. To her shock, though. There's no butterfly in it.
"It's not here either!" She shouts toward Ladybug in alarm.
Ladybug's eyes widen when she hears that, and she accidentally lets go of her hold on Dark Owl, who laughs triumphantly at their shocked expressions.
"Hoo, hoo. So, you've discovered my secret. Yes, my Akuma is hidden away. You'll never be able to find it, meaning you'll never defeat me." Dark Owl announces before charging toward Ladybug and delivering a flying kick, sending the girl crashing to the floor.
Canine throws her rubber ball in an attempt to hit him, but the villain dives to the side before charging toward her again. Canine takes a martial arts stance and throws a roundhouse kick toward the charging villain. However, instead of getting hit or ducking under the move, Dark Owl jumps over Canine and lands behind her. Canine uses the force from her kick to quickly turn around but is met with a kick to the gut by Dark Owl.
At the same time, Ladybug gets back up and fires electric blasts from both her palms toward the villain. As she's doing this, she's trying to figure out where the butterfly could be or what it is.
"Wait, earlier, he did say someone's name before activating his jetpack. Could that person be keeping his butterfly safe?" Ladybug wonders in her mind.
As she questions this, Dark Owl rolls out of the way of her attack and grabs one-half of his utility belt before pulling out some boomerangs and smoke bombs. He slams the smoke bombs on the ground before throwing the boomerangs behind the cover of smoke at Ladybug, pinning her to the wall behind her again.
Ladybug grits her teeth while trying to pry herself off the wall while Canine charges at Dark Owl again. Dark Owl turns around and is met with a Superman punch from the young heroine. Canine quickly follows it up with a reverse roundhouse kick. After that, she grabs the disoriented Dark Owl by his arm before shoulder-throwing him to the ground and pinning him by twisting his arm while kneeling on him.
"What do we do, Ladybug? Where do you think the butterfly is?" Canine asks the other heroine in a panic.
"I don't know. Someone else besides Hawkmoth is helping him. That person could be anywhere in Paris." Ladybug tells Canine in equal panic.
"Someone else?" Canine asks in surprise.
Taking advantage of her surprise, Dark Owl gets out of her pin and throws her off. Before he can follow up, though. Ladybug shoots him in the back with electricity.
"We need to find out where the butterfly is hiding and who's hiding it," Ladybug tells Canine, who gets an idea.
"I'm on it." She tells Ladybug before activating her last power.
"Command!"
She then turns to Dark Owl and says.
"Tell us where your butterfly is!"
An orange-tinted soundwave hits Dark Owl and forces him to spill the truth before he can cover his mouth.
"It's in my computer in the principal's office." He announces before his eyes widen in horror.
Ladybug finally pulls herself free from the wall and immediately bolts toward the principal's office while shouting at Canine.
"Try and keep him busy for a minute!"
Nodding, Canine ignores the beeping of her collar to focus on fighting Dark Owl so Ladybug can get his butterfly and end this. However, Dark Owl isn't making it easy for her. She goes for a punch, which the Akuma blocks before stepping in and going for a spinning back elbow strike. Canine ducks it and tries to sweep his legs, but Dark Owl jumps over her and rushes after Ladybug.
Canine throws her ball at the wall next to Dark Owl and manages to bounce it into his side before charging at him and going for another pin. As she does, it seems like officers are finally starting to arrive at the school, causing her to sigh in relief.
"Thank goodness. It's been forever since they were called."
However, she dropped her guard again and allowed Dark Owl to throw her off again. He ignores Canine in favor of going after Ladybug but is met by someone else trying to shoulder charge him.
"Oh no, you don't." Officer Roger says as he tries to stop the Akuma, only to be slammed to the side.
Luckily, enough time was bought for Ladybug to find Albert. When she sees the state of Mr. Damocles' office, she does a double take.
"Okay, this is officially the strangest Akuma I've fought," Ladybug says in shock as she looks around the office and moves over a wire.
As she walks through, she can't help but feel like something will jump out at her in the dark room. She soon jumps in fright when she hears Albert's voice on all the monitors hanging from the ceiling.
"Alert, alert, intruder detected. Dark Owl, intruder." Albert repeats in alarm.
"So, Mr. Damocles was talking to an A.I. program, and no one was helping him." Ladybug realizes before charging up an electric fist.
"Well, I picked the right outfit for this then. I'm just charging for destruction." Ladybug puns to herself before giggling.
"That was a good one. I'll have to tell Cat Noir about it when I tell him about what happened today and introduce him to Canine." Ladybug smiles before slamming her fist into the ground and sending a wave of electricity through the room, overloading the computers and destroying them.
She sees the butterfly exit one of the monitors and catches it with her yo-yo. After that, she uses Miraculous Ladybug and fixes everything around the school.
Outside the office, Dark Owl suddenly stops his charge and reverts into Mr. Damocles, who falls to the ground on his knees. He groans a little bit as he tries to come to terms with what happens. As he does, Canine helps Roger up, but he lightly pushes her back with a smile as he tests his now unfrozen leg. When he sees that it's okay, he looks toward her knowingly.
"Shouldn't you be getting out of here before anything else happens?" He asks, causing his daughter to realize she's almost out of time and rush to the bathroom.
Roger smiles as he watches her go. He had watched her fight Dark Owl and felt immensely proud.
"That's my girl."

Top 10 Favorite Miraculous Episodes
Tumblr media
So, I wanted to do a list of my top 10 favorite episodes of Miraculous so far. I like making lists, sooo why not? :D
1. Chat Blanc
I know there’s definitely people in the fandom who stopped liking this episode a whole lot and considering it the best. But, I still do!
I’ve watched it probably 10 times at this point and I’ve cried just about every time. Seeing Adrien cry after the break up, breakdown in front of Ladybug and Hawk Moth, and yell at Ladybug about how she doesn’t love him anymore is just heartbreaking. I can’t not feel upset seeing Adrien this upset.
Tumblr media
It’s such an emotionally heavy episode. Marinette and Adrien finally kiss (on the lips!!) and get together. Gabriel ruthlessly ends that relationship. Adrien learns his father is Hawk Moth and gets manipulated so, so badly. It’s such a well done plot, and the fact that it’s still impacting Marinette and affecting how she treats Cat Noir is insane. The fact that Cat Noir ended the world with his sadness is insane.
Minor detail, but it also was the start of the “Little Kitty on a Roof” song. A song that became a cute, comforting song for Adrien while he’s dealing with stress and loneliness. I lost it when it popped up again in Felix.
2. Wishmaker
If you’ve followed me for a while, you know I’ve written about this episode so many times. Well here we go again!
It’s so underrated. I was in the midst of working a god awful job when this episode came out, and I never related to any Miraculous episode so deeply. Ever.
It talks so much about being passionate about your work and why it’s important to a lot of people that their work is meaningful for them. We get Andre’s full backstory on him hating his office job and finding his passion for ice cream and bringing people together. I love it, I love it, I love it.
Also, learning Adrien has been controlled his entire life by his parents was just as sad as everything he endured in Chat Blanc. It was already suspicious that he didn’t have a childhood dream, but still the biggest shock ever when he turned into himself when he got hit by Wishmaker. I couldn’t stop crying after I first watched that scene.
3. Glaciator
This episode is just…a classic. I feel it sums up the entire love square concept in one episode. They don’t know each other’s identities and end up ditching each other for each other because they love each other’s other identities. It’s an episode that both made the fandom love them but also get so irritated.
Cat Noir hopping onto Marinette’s balcony, opening up to her, and taking her to his romantic rooftop picnic without even thinking twice is incredibly wholesome. It really put a big spotlight on Adrien as a person.
It’s also what made me and a lot of the fandom absolutely love the Marichat ship. It was so unexpected that Cat Noir would choose to spend time and have a heart-to-heart with Marinette. They were already cute in Evillustrator, but this was 10x cuter.
4. Risk
This episode had me gasping so much. Risk’s power hit Marinette and Adrien the hardest since they’ve got so much going on in their personal lives. They really did things I was not expecting.
Tumblr media
I - and many other fans - already know Adrien is in love with Marinette. But, the fact that a big risk for him is holding her hand and opening up to her about how unhappy he is being a model and being trapped was insane. Marinette reassuring him she understands and seeing him so genuinely happy after she told him that was so, so adorable.
I also loved seeing Adrien finally starting to stand up to his father, and yelling to himself about how he just wants to be his son. He also told off Lila again - no risk involved. Like, yes, Adrien. Simply yes.
Oh and then my favorite gremlin, Felix, makes a grand comeback and is actually kinda looking out for Adrien (despite there being some personal gain involved). And I still can’t believe he’s the first person other than Nathalie to know about Emilie being kept in the basement.
5. The Dark Owl
This episode is just so funny and clever. I can’t even count on hand how many times I’ve watched it. Plus, me and my best friend quote this one the most. That is why I’m ranking it so high up!
Mr. Owl is so ridiculous and I love how he relentlessly tries to be a hero. It’s actually easy to sympathize for him since it’s something he’s wanted to do ever since he was little. I also love how many times Ladybug and Cat Noir kept having to try and stop him. Nothing will ever beat Cardboard Girl.
Dark Owl was also so clever in how he projected a fake scene of dropping a bus onto a kitten, humiliating Ladybug and Cat Noir. And, also in how he captured them in whipped cream. Like, no one else would think of something like that!
Tumblr media
Also his akumatized object wasn’t even near him, it was in his office! The fact that Ladybug had to fly all the way to his office was crazy, and she was ridiculously close to getting her miraculous pulled off.
Not just props to Dark Owl, I enjoyed how clever Ladybug and Cat Noir were too! That plan of closing their eyes to feed their kwamis (the scene when Plagg and Tikki learned about the love square!!) and then giving Hawk Moth the fake miraculous Ladybug had used in her Cardboard Girl situation was very clever.
6. Strikeback
What a beautiful season finale. Oh my goodness.
There was so much angst in this episode. Ladybug and Cat Noir fought. Ladybug had another flashback of Chat Blanc.
Also, Felix landing the opportunity of getting a miraculous - the one that obtains other objects like a pokeball- was fantastic. His hero design was wonderful, and he knew exactly how to get what he wanted, thanks to getting that miraculous.
Tumblr media
I loved the two ending scenes: Adrien comforting Ladybug and keeping her safe during her anxiety attack, and Ladybug and Cat Noir hugging. It’s not because I want to see Marinette upset and crying, but because it’s such good representation of anxiety, and having the person she loves comfort her both in and out of costume is incredible.
7. Stormy Weather
This is the very first episode of Miraculous I ever watched. God bless.
Not only is it nostalgic for me, but it’s a genuinely good episode! Ladybug and Cat Noir worked so well together in this episode. Cat Noir had his awesome night vision and that cataclysm run he did. Ladybug had a very, very clever idea for the lucky charm.
I also love the scene when Cat Noir first interacts with Stormy Weather. He keeps making jokes and puns simply to irritate her. So incredibly on brand for him.
Tumblr media
8. Glaciator 2
I loved the first, I love the second. I was so sure the romance was gonna be gone for good in the Marichat ship after Weredad. Nope. This episode ignited it again.
Marinette practicing her confession on her crush who she doesn’t realize is her crush is hysterical. Even funnier than the first Glaciator episode. And the fact that Cat Noir laughed at it, and Kagami was the one who egged her to do it all based on a manga made it even better.
But, the cutest parts were definitely them going on a movie date and then Cat Noir leaving the fight to rehearse with Marinette again, definitely falling for her after hearing the unscripted version of her confession. I like how close they became in this episode. They instinctively act like friends because they know each other and see each other regularly but obviously can’t reveal that to each other.
Tumblr media
9. Oblivio
I live for this because it’s direct proof of how much Marinette and Adrien love each other. They had their memories wiped and they very quickly came to the conclusion that they’re dating. Adrien admitted, “No wonder I fell in love with you.” They kissed.
Tumblr media
I’m such a sucker for romance and this episode fills that void for me. It is so nice seeing the love square come together and they toyed with us in this episode with that.
I also thought it was so cool seeing the an akumatized victim form out of two people. It reminded me of a Steven Universe fusion. The crazy thing is that I was able to figure out it was Alya and Nino just based on the voice. You can hear two completely different voices if you pay very close attention.
10. Stone Heart Origins
Cheating a little and combining the two-parter into one lol.
This is the start of it all. The beginning of our OTP. The immaculate umbrella scene.
Tumblr media
I will always find it funny how Marinette originally thought Adrien was some stupid bully who had the audacity to put chewing gum on her seat, and also how badly she didn’t want to become Ladybug. Then, in such a short span of time later, she tells off Hawk Moth, decides to keep saving Paris, and falls in love with Adrien after he apologizes.
What’s also funny but also really sad is that Adrien’s rebellious move was running off to school. He felt so alone and trapped that he felt going to the public high school would be his ticket out. Luckily, Gabriel finally ended up letting him attend, but his even bigger escape became his 2nd life as Cat Noir. He wanted to escape so bad, he didn’t even let Plagg finish telling him what he should be doing.
Honorable Mention: Rocketear
This episode - like Wishmaker - is also very underrated.
I cannot begin to tell you how many times I gasped watching this episode when it first premiered. I was floored when Nino revealed his and Alya’s hero identities to Adrien and shit talked Cat Noir to Adrien (unknowingly to Cat Noir’s face!!) It felt very out of character for Nino and I never expected their friendship to get jeopardized like that.
Nino getting akumatized was also devastating for Adrien and they did an excellent job at making that obvious. His tone of voice, his sad facial expressions, and him giving up his baton were all very telling that he absolutely did not want to fight his best friend. He cares a lot about Nino and it shows. Adrien was so hurt after everything that happened.
Aside from the emotion, it was pretty hilarious seeing Nino get jealous over a fake situation: Cat Noir and Alya being in love. The detective act was great, so was Cat Noir thinking he’s too charming which caused Alya to possibly crush on him.

Plot and characters aside, Zeno Robinson really shined in this episode. I wasn’t used to the change in Nino’s VA just yet, but he did a fantastic job in this episode. Bryce Papenbrook also did an amazing job putting a lot of emotion into Adrien’s voice, making him sound incredibly stressed and saddened.

IOTA Reviews: Jubilation
Tumblr media
So far, Season 5 has been pretty decent for the most part. Sure, there have already been a handful of plotholes and retcons (to the point where I'm honestly thinking of starting a retcon counter in the future), but at the very worse, the first three episodes were below average at worst. But now we have to see how the Akuma of the day formula will play out now. Can it bring new life to this show, or is that nothing more than a pipe dream?
Let's get into the fourth (chronologically the fourth) episode of Miraculous Ladybug's fifth season: Jubilation
The episode starts off with Marinette going for a jog, and shockingly, it isn't in her pajamas, but rather, clothing appropriate for running. She stops to see an advertisement for the Alliance rings, and reminds the audience that she's totally not in love with Adrien anymore because it cost her most of the Miraculous. Marinette is about to continue running, when she sees her principal, Mr. Damocles, dressing up at the superhero, the Owl, while attempting to save a cat from a billboard... even though he learned his lesson all the way back in his spotlight episode, “The Dark Owl”. Before Marinette has the chance to save him from his incompetence, another girl dressed as Ladybug saves Mr. Damocles, though Marinette recognizes her as an old friend. Both “heroes” run off, but Marinette has an idea of who the fake Ladybug is.
Marinette: That fake Ladybug from this morning, I think it was Socqueline, a school friend from last year. Knowing her, I’m sure she means well. But I have to convince her to stop putting herself in danger like that.
So basically, we're repeating the civilian plotline of “The Dark Owl”, but this time, with two different heroes. I'm also confused as to why we've never heard of Socqueline until Season 5, especially if Marinette already knows her. It's not as egregious or forced as Zoe's introduction, but it's weird that Marinette has never brought her up, not even to Tikki or Alya.
Tumblr media
Also, why the hell does she look like Marinette? It was at least understandable to reuse Adrien's character model for Felix because they were related, but these two are just friends, and Socqueline doesn’t even have the same name most fans use for the PV Ladybug, Bridgette. What, did you think changing her name would make the reference more subtle? Oh yeah, and even though we already have two Asian characters with the same surname, Socqueline’s last name is also Wang. Because just like the mayor and ice cream man sharing the same first name, this isn’t confusing in the slightest.
Socqueline works at a local arts and crafts store, and before Marinette can ask her for why she's pretending to be Ladybug, she pretends to be buying paint first... even though she could just transform into Ladybug, walk in and say “Hey, I heard you've been impersonating me, so stop it before you get yourself killed, idiot”. But then I guess we wouldn't get an explanation as to what Alliance can do. Like we saw in “Multiplication”, it's basically an Alexa in ring form that totally isn't a front for supervillain activity. Marinette and Socqueline talk about Adrien, and Socqueline assumes the two are a couple after Marinette talks about how close they are, when all Marinette does is recap the whole thing about his mother “disappearing” and that he doesn't want to be a model. Wow, you really know him, don't you?
Eventually, the conversation goes back to Socqueline dressing up as Ladybug.
Marinette: Well, it’s a good thing you’re not trying to be a superhero, because it’s very dangerous to do the same thing they do when you don’t have magical powers and supersuits!
Socqueline: Yeah… Well, what if it’s a relief for Ladybug to have people help her?
Marinette: No way would she want that. It’s too risky!
Socqueline: Yes, but you gotta know when to step in. That’s the only way you can change things in life!
Marinette: I know. You told me that last year, but in this circumstance, it’s Ladybug’s job to take risks, and no one else’s! Because if everyone takes risks, then Ladybug may have to take more risks in order to deal with their risks, which is even riskier!
Mr. Damocles: Sounds like someone’s jealous because she wants to be a superhero.
Marinette: I do not! I’m Marinette! I’m very happy to be a normal girl, with a normal life, AND SO SHOULD EVERYONE ELSE!
Admittedly, this is a decent argument for Marinette and Socqueline to have, but I feel like they're kind of oversimplifying it. Yes, it's obvious that Socqueline and Mr. Damocles can't do much to help Ladybug without any powers, but that doesn't rule out Ladybug getting other allies in the form of local law enforcement or even other heroes with high-tech gadgets like Batman. It's also strange that the whole deal with Marinette last season was that she wasn't willing to trust anyone like Cat Noir, so wouldn't it make sense to call back to that, and consider getting help from people in other ways, like moral support?
While Socqueline tries to console Mr. Damocles, some of the dinosaurs from “Rocketear” break out, so Marinette quickly transforms into Ladybug to catch them again, but while she does so, she accidentally brings Socqueline's Alliance ring with her. Turns out that, shock of all shocks, Gabriel is secretly monitoring the Alliance rings, and the data gathered from the step counter app registers the user as moving around far beyond human capabilities. Gabriel obviously assumes that Socqueline is Ladybug, and transforms into Monarch, where we see how the new Akuma routine will go for the season. Sensing Mr. Damocles' negative emotions from believing he can't be a superhero, Monarch uses Kaalki's Voyage to send his Akuma towards one of his masks. When it reaches Mr. Damocles, Monarch uses his Alliance ring to grant him Daizzi's Gift, turning him into Darker Owl.
Tumblr media
Darker Owl is basically just the same as Dark Owl, but with some shinier parts, and instead of the campier Batman he was originally themed after, he has a sightly deeper voice, not unlike Christian Bale's interpretation of the character. Nothing special, but compared to reusing past Akuma designs, at least an effort was made to make him look different.
Darker Owl breaks into the paint shop, believing Monarch's claim that Socqueline is Ladybug. Using one of his gadgets with the Pig Miraculous' gift, he traps Socqueline in her fantasy to be recognized as a hero by the real Ladybug and Cat Noir. Before she was trapped however, she secretly used her Alliance ring to trick Darker Owl into revealing where the Akuma is.
Of course, like a concerning amount of episodes before it, we finally get Adrien's first scene, where he's just playing video games until he learns about the Akuma, transforming into Cat Noir. Both heroes arrive to stop Darker Owl, who has taken Socqueline as a hostage, and while Cat Noir saves Socqueline, Ladybug summons her Lucky Charm, an old fashioned alarm clock.
After Cat Noir saves Socqueline, both him and Ladybug are hit by Gift, where their shared fantasy is beating Darker Owl and finding Monarch's business card in Mr. Damocles' jacket. After the two defeat Monarch and get the Miraculous back, they grow closer together, and eventually... get married... even though they're still teenagers.
Tumblr media
Okay, that's very concerning, especially since Cat Noir's “suit” is just the Cat Blanc model with green eyes, but it's not like they're going to become parents too, right?
Tumblr media
Oh.
Ohhhhhh....
Ohhhhhhhhhhhh nooooooo.....
youtube
Yep. The writers REALLY didn't think this through. I get that it didn't really happen, but I don't get why they had to make the fantasy of Ladybug and Cat Noir being all about them starting a family when they can't even afford new models to show that they're older so they could avoid these implications.
Putting that aside, the fantasy is decently put together, but it's nothing special compared to something like “Perchance to Dream” from Batman: The Animated Series. I like the recurring surreal imagery with the alarm clocks, and the babies looking like dolls could be seen as a way to show how fake this all is. On the other hand, I don't get whose fantasy this is exactly. Yeah, it's implied that since the same Gift bullet was fired at both Ladybug and Cat Noir, they're sharing an amalgamation of their fantasies (Ladybug defeating Monarch and getting the Miraculous back and Cat Noir starting a family with Ladybug), but it feels like more focus is given to Cat Noir's fantasy even though he didn't even get to do anything before the Akuma showed up. They even have the scene with him hesitating to leave the fantasy when it should have been Ladybug struggling to reject it. In fact, I think the reason this fantasy sequence rings hollow for me is because it doesn't really connect to the idea that Marinette wants a normal life. Wouldn't it make more sense for Marinette's fantasy to be a world where Socqueline or Alya is Ladybug instead of her? You could easily alternate between Marinette's fantasy where she lives a mundane life and alternate it with Cat Noir's fantasy where he embraces the superhero lifestyle. It would have made more sense given that this was a Marinette-centric episode,
Even after the two heroes break out, it's Cat Noir who snaps at Darker Owl, not Ladybug. You could have easily had a scene where Cat Noir is the one who has to restrain Ladybug from getting too aggressive while fighting Darker Owl to show how reliable of a partner he is. Instead, well... remember how last episode, Cat Noir felt a lot of guilt for accidentally Cataclysming Monarch when Monarch let himself take the hit? Yeah, he almost Cataclysms Darker Owl out of anger. Yeah, he’s not thinking straight, and he stops at the last minute, but it makes him look like a real hypocrite. It also doesn’t really reassure the audience that he's now the only ally Ladybug has at the moment. This moment would have made more sense if the roles were reversed, with Cat Noir begging Ladybug to not hurt Darker Owl because Monarch was the one who taunted them with their ideal lives.
Ladybug purifies the Akuma, gives Mr. Damocles a useless Magical Charm, fixes the minor damage Darker Owl caused, Daizzi is sent back to Monarch's lair, and nobody ever acknowledges that Cat Noir almost killed a man.
After Socqueline apologizes to Ladybug, and Ladybug gives a vague statement of wanting Socqueline to find another way to help, she goes back home as Marinette. Sabine offers her an Alliance ring, but Marinette decides against it, mostly because of what happened earlier.
The episode then ends to Ladybug talking with Cat Noir about what happened with Darker Owl, how he got the power of the Pig Miraculous, and what happened in their fantasy.
Cat Noir: Ladybug, that power of Jubilation... it’s supposed to show us our deepest desires, isn’t it?
Ladybug: Yes.
Cat Noir: But that was... that wasn’t real, right?
Ladybug: Tell me about it. The wedding, babies, totally… fake.
Cat Noir: Are you sure?
Ladybug: Monarch… must’ve altered it somehow, to trick us. Yeah, that’s got to be it.
Cat Noir: Of course, otherwise, it would be totally super weird, wouldn’t it?
Ladybug: Right. Totally… super… weird.
Yeah, calling what you two lived through “weird” is an understatement.
Overall, this episode was just mediocre, and other than the climax, there wasn't much for me to talk about.
Socqueline as a character confuses me. Do we really need another member of Marinette's friend group, especially when you could have easily replaced Socqueline with another character? Seriously, someone like Alya, Mylene, Kagami, Zoe, or even Chloe would have worked better, as their personalities and motivations would fit a story like this. She's just an unnecessary addition to an already bloated cast of characters.
I will say I liked how the villain side of things was handled. In a world where the use of technology in our daily lives is more common, the idea of the Alliance rings being a way for Gabriel to monitor the public is pretty clever. I’m still confused as to why he even needs to use a Miraculous to give Akumas more powers when he can already do that with Akumas in the first place, but I like how the conflict seems to be ramping up.
I also don't get the point of this conflict, especially since we already did it three seasons ago. Back in “The Dark Owl”, it was unnecessary because Ladybug and Cat Noir were already doing a good job at fighting Hawkmoth's Akumas, but now, he's stronger than ever, and they need all the help they can get. Yeah, Mr. Damocles and Socqueline were endangering themselves by trying to help others, but at least they're doing something after everyone just gave up preparing for Monarch's new wave of Akumas in “Multiplication”. But then again, at least Ladybug didn't call either of them entitled for actually wanting to help people instead of focusing on their own selfish desires like the “hero” in Kamen Rider Geats.
Even the resolution feels tacked on. In “The Dark Owl”, the ending was similar, with Mr. Damocles choosing to stop trying to be a hero, but instead focusing on doing community service, helping people in his own way. Here? Ladybug tells Socqueline to help someone without endangering herself, and we don't get any follow-up on that, not even with Mr. Damocles. It feels more tacked on than anything else.
It doesn't help that despite the episode hinting at Marinette wanting a normal life, the actual highlight of the episode, the fantasy sequence, doesn't really connect to those wishes, as Marinette stays transformed the whole time. From an out of universe perspective, it's obviously because Cat Noir and Monarch can't find out who Ladybug is, but it's not clear why her fantasy is like that. You could have easily thrown in something like that rule they established last episode of Miraculous magic not being able to interfere with other Miraculous, so Monarch and Darker Owl have to make up their own ideal fantasy for Ladybug and Cat Noir to live in because they can't completely read their minds. Well that, and also, DON'T SHOW TWO TEENAGERS BECOMING PARENTS WITHOUT EVEN AGING, BECAUSE IT GIVES OFF THE VIBE THAT THEY HAD SEX.
This episode wasn't really terrible, more boring than anything else. At least I had something to talk about with the past three episodes, but here? Outside of the fantasy, there's not much else to say.
THE BIGGEST IDIOT OF THE EPISODE IS... MR. DAMOCLES
Tumblr media
Even though he already learned his lesson three seasons ago, he still didn't get that a man of his age and physique wasn't fit to be a superhero. At least Socqueline was established to be in good shape for her age. On top of that, he easily gave away his cover (even if it was obvious, the joke before was that everyone else pretended to not know who he is) at the drop of a hat, and when he was supposedly confronted with Ladybug's civilian identity, he didn't think to just rip her earrings off, and spent way too much time talking before he zapped her with a Gift bullet.

Ok, but the whole waking up from fantasy world à la DC Black Mercy is extremely sad, actually. Especially from Adrien's point of view. Poor kid's always been denied everything he's ever wanted by his family, his father doesn't spend time with him, his mother disappeared, his father's assistant and one of the people he's closest to is severely ill, and the one time his father gave in to one of his requests was because he had a greater scheme in mind. And just when he finally gets all he's ever wanted—to defeat Monarch, to win Ladybug's heart, to have a living family and home to belong to—it's stripped away from him because it was just a cruel trick to get them to lower their guards.
No wonder he went completely feral on Dark Owl. 10/10 would do it again.

Oh, Mr. Damocles continues to help kittens, The Owl is still in action! I wonder what makes him akumatized this time and if there’re any other callbacks to “The Dark Owl”

Miraculous Descendent Chapter 51: Show and Tell
Previous Chapter
The next day, Marinette and Nate are peacefully resting in their beds before there's a knock at Marinette's door. Marinette doesn't react to the sound, causing Sabine to open the door and walk toward her daughter.
"Marinette, we have to get up. It's time for school. We're going to be late if you don't get up." Sabine shakes her daughter awake.
Finally, Marinette opens her eyes and sees Sabine's smiling face.
"*yawn* What are you doing here, Mom?" Marinette asks in confusion while trying to wake up.
"Can't a mother wake her daughter up instead of their butler? You never had a problem with it before." Sabine says with a giggle at her daughter's reaction.
Finally starting to wake up and have her mind catch up with her, Marinette's eyes widen as she realizes what today is and immediately sits up.
"Ah, school." Marinette panics as she gets out of bed to get ready.
Sabine smiles and shakes her head at her daughter's antics as she rushes toward her closet to get ready for school.
She quickly leaves the room to let her daughter get ready and heads toward Nate's room. She knocks on the door. Luckily, Nate comes to the door in his video game pajamas.
"Morning. Time for school, I'm guessing." Nate says while rubbing the sleep from one of his eyes as he looks at Sabine.
"Yes. I'll be walking to school with you two." Sabine tells him with a smile.
"Alright." Nate nods before closing the door to get ready.
After that, Sabine heads toward the hotel lobby to wait for the teens. After a few minutes, Nate is the first to come down in a dark blue hoodie with blue jeans and his usual sneakers while carrying his school bag.
"Good morning, Sabine." He says with a smile as he walks toward the waiting woman.
"Good morning, Nate. I see you're the first one down." Sabine says with a smile.
Nate says nothing and shrugs before sitting in one of the lobby seating areas to wait for Marinette. It takes a few minutes, but she finally comes down with her signature ladybug-themed jacket over a pink short-sleeve shirt with white pants. It's a reversal of her usual outfit. She even has a bracelet with a sunflower-shaped ornament on her wrist.
"Sorry, it took me so long. I wanted to try out a different outfit." Marinette apologizes as she does a little twirl to show off her clothes.
"It looks lovely, sweetie," Sabine says with a smile as she looks over Marinette's outfit.
"Thanks." Marinette beams at her mother's approval.
The trio leave the hotel and walk toward school. The walk there is silent for a while before Sabine looks toward Marinette.
"So, how is getting Ladybug to talk to us going?" Sabine asks Marinette.
That question causes Marinette to freeze and awkwardly stare at her mother as she tries to say something.
"W-well. S-she usually comes to me for information. I don't really have a way to talk to her." Marinette awkwardly tells her mother.
"I see." Sabine hums while keeping a close eye on her daughter.
Seeing the awkward atmosphere, Nate looks for a way to change it and notices they're near Agreste Manor.
"Hey, Sabine. Do you know the stories around Agreste Manor?" Nate asks his new aunt while hoping it'll be enough to steer the conversation away.
Sabine blinks in confusion before looking at Adrien's house.
"No, I don't think I have. Why? What are the stories?" Sabine asks him with a raised eyebrow.
"They say the place is haunted. That something walks through the halls in search of something. They also say that Gabriel is studying black magic to find a way to bring his missing wife back." Nate explains as he walks backward while talking to Sabine.
"Really?" Sabine asks in surprise, not expecting those kinds of rumors.
"Yeah, I told this to Marinette at the beginning of the school year. Apparently, the stories started from some cleaners or other employees that worked in the mansion." Nate explains with a smile as he makes spooky movements with his hands for emphasis.
"Well, those are some interesting rumors. I'm sure they're just that, though. People will make up all sorts of different rumors." Sabine tells him while rolling her eyes at how people can blow things out of proportion.
"True. But it's pretty interesting to think about. I mean, we know magic is real. So, it's not like it's something impossible." Nate says with a shrug.
"I suppose that's true. But it's rude to say those things about someone who misses their other half. Losing your partner can be a painful experience, and it can take a long time to get over it. People also grieve in different ways. I'm sure Mr. Agreste is just trying to get over his wife in solitude." Sabine explains while looking toward Agreste Mansion as they walk past it.
The two teens don't say anything and look at the mansion with some looks of pity.
"So... how's it feel to be married to Uncle Tom?" Nate finally asks to change topics again.
Sabine gives him a good-natured smile before saying.
"It's wonderful. He's so charming. I wish I could do more to help him, though." Sabine says while putting a hand to her cheek as she worriedly thinks about Tom.
"Yeah, Uncle Tom hasn't been looking the best lately. Hawkmoth is putting him through the wringer with everything he's doing." Nate sighs as he thinks about the times he's seen Uncle Tom. Quite a few times, Tom didn't look like he got a lot of sleep.
"Yes. I'm worried about his health." Sabine sighs.
"I'm sure Uncle Tom will be okay," Nate says optimistically.
"I hope so." Sabine nods.
Marinette listens to their conversation and bites her lip.
"Hopefully, we'll find Hawkmoth soon to help Tom." Marinette thinks as she follows the two.
"Are you okay, Marinette? You've been quiet." Sabine says as she looks toward her daughter in worry.
"O-oh, I'm fine, Mom. I'm just thinking about what you guys said." Marinette says while nervously waving her arms toward her mother.
"Sorry if we're worrying you, Marinette." Sabine quickly apologizes when she sees her daughter's state.
"Oh, no. It's fine. I'm worried about Tom, too. I was trying to figure out how I can help Ladybug figure out who Hawkmoth is quicker before you said something." Marinette explains to calm her mother's worries.
"Alright then. Hopefully, you'll come up with something." Sabine tells her daughter.
The trio later arrives at the school and enters to see a couple of different pairs of students and parents heading toward Miss Bustier's class. Following them, the trio enters the room. After getting in the room, Marinette and Nate take their seats while Sabine stands on the side of the room next to Marline, Alya's mother and the head chef of Samuel's hotel.
As time goes by, more parent and child pairs enter the room until the room is eventually filled up. A few students' parents are missing, such as Juleka, Nathaniel, and Kim. However, there are still a fair amount of parents for today.
While everyone in Miss Bustier's class is preparing for their career talks, Mr. Damocles is in his office, taking a few deep breaths, hoping nothing goes wrong today.
"Albert, open up my email." Mr. Damocles orders his computer A.I.
"Please repeat. I was unable to understand." Albert requests.
"Open my email, Albert." Mr. Damocles says in a louder, more forceful tone.
"Please repeat. I was unable to understand." Albert requests again.
"Open my emails, Albert!" Mr. Damocles shouts at the A.I.
"Pl-please re-repeat-" Albert begins before his icon glitches, and his speech breaks apart.
"Oh, not again." Mr. Damocles groans as he realizes Albert is malfunctioning.
With a heavy sigh, Mr. Damocles shuts Albert down and peaks at his programming to try and figure out what went wrong.
"The comics make creating an artificial intelligence look so easy." Mr. Damocles sighs as he looks at the programming.
As he does this, he daydreams about a fully functioning Albert backing him up as he helps Ladybug and Cat Noir fight an Akuma in an Owlman costume, giving him information and activating equipment in his suit.
Somewhere else within the school, Aurore sits quietly in class in the corner of the room. Ever since she got hired as Mireille's co-host, her old haughty attitude has returned somewhat. But she still feels uncomfortable about being in school while everyone knows she's been turned into a villain by Hawkmoth. So, she usually keeps to herself or talks to friends during school.
However, today is going to be different from her usual school routine. In Hawkmoth's secret base, he is watching the girl through the glass bulb on the top of his cane.
"We'll see how today goes for you, Damocles. Especially since one of my butterflies is more than ready to possess one of your students without a catalyst." Hawkmoth says as he observes Aurore taking notes.
He's decided to wait before doing anything to the school and let events play out.
Later that day, the class watches as Chloe's father walks up to the front of the room with a cloth-covered tray.
"Chloe, please pass these out to your classmates and their parents. They're freshly baked croissants. I made them this morning for you all." André tells the class kindly as he gives Chloe the tray and unveils it for everyone in the room to see over two dozen croissants and some tongs.
Chloe doesn't look happy with having to give her classmates her father's food but doesn't say anything against her father. Reluctantly, she begins passing her classmates and their parents the food.
Some of the more abrasive students give Chloe smug and amused looks as she does this to irritate her. She finally hesitates when she reaches Marinette and Nate's desk. With a scowl, Chloe is about to refuse before.
"Chloe, is everything okay?" André asks her daughter worriedly, not wanting her to cause any trouble.
With a huff, Chloe gives Marinette, Nate, and Sabine their croissants but doesn't hesitate to whisper something to Marinette as she walks by the girl after handing a croissant to her mom.
"Enjoy your food." She aggressively whispers to the girl.
"Thanks, I will," Marinette says in faux happiness as she looks at Chloe with a closed-eye smile.
"Thank you, Mr. Bougeois." Miss Bustier thanks the man.
"No problem, Miss Bustier. I'm happy to give them some of my bakery's treats. Maybe I'll get a few loyal customers out of today." André jokes with a good-natured smile, getting a few chuckles from the adults around the room.
"I'm sure you will. Now, let's move on to Alya's mom, the head chef at the Le Grand Paris, owned by the father of our very own Nathanial Dupain and brother of our mayor, Samuel Dupain." Miss Bustier says as she motions toward the woman standing next to Sabine.
The students and parents clap toward the woman as she pushes past Sabine and takes André's place in front of the room.
"Hello, I'm Marlena Césaire. It's a pleasure to meet my daughter's classmates and their parents." Marlena says kindly with a welcoming smile.
"Unfortunately, I didn't bring you any treats like Mr. Bourgeois. Did you, Sabine?" Marlena asks the other woman jokingly.
"No, I'm afraid I didn't." Sabine shakes her head.
"I guess I'll just have to talk about what I do instead." Marlena fake sighs before looking toward the class.
"My job is to make sure everything in the kitchen of Le Grand Paris runs smoothly. I have to go over our menus and control the food preparations. I also have to deal with complaints from customers sometimes." Marlena explains.
"It's a rather difficult job. But luckily I have the help of a capable staff. Such as Sabine over there." Marlena says as she motions toward Sabine, who smiles toward the class.
"It feels like things have been going a lot smoother ever since she started helping in the kitchen, and I'm happy to call her a co-worker and friend," Marlena explains while smiling at Sabine.
"Happy to take some of the stress off, Marlena," Sabine tells her with an equally radiant smile.
"How nice. It must have been awkward to work with the wife of your boss' brother, though." Miss Bustier says while looking between the two women.
"It was a bit awkward, but she soon proved she was just as capable as my other chefs. In fact, she's come up with quite a few new sweets for our hotel's menu." Marlena nods.
"Wonderful." Miss Bustier claps happily upon hearing Marlena's words.
"Well, thank you for your time, Mrs. Césaire. Let's move on to our next parent, Mr. Roger Raincomprix." Miss Bustier says before motioning for Roger to come on stage
As the class continues their career day, Hawkmoth decides that now is the time to strike.
"It's time for round three. You know what to do, my little one."  Hawkmoth says as a butterfly forms in his glass bulb before flying out of it and through the stained glass window.
"We'll see how the heroes handle this next set of Akumas," Hawkmoth says with a smile as he can feel the butterfly heading toward Aurore.
Not knowing what's to come, Aurore is taking notes in her class with an umbrella-shaped pen. Eventually, the butterfly arrives and phases through the window toward her. It flies toward her writing tool, and Aurore only has a second to notice it before it possesses her pen.
"Hello, Stormy Weather," Hawkmoth says as the butterfly outline appears on Aurore's face.
After this happens, Miss Mendeleiev and her eyes widen in shock.
"Everyone out! I want you all out of this classroom now! It's an Akuma emergency! Evacuate the classroom immediately! Leave your things and leave!" Miss Mendeleiev orders as she desperately tries to get her students out of the room and to safety, while Aurore has a look of fear and horror on her face as she converses with Hawkmoth.
"Why? Why are you doing this to me? How are you getting to me? I'm not feeling negative about today?" Aurore asks in fear as she tries to figure out why Hawkmoth keeps going after her.
"Unfortunately, I have more than a few tricks up my sleeve and am not completely limited by who's feeling negative today. As for why you, you just drew the unlucky card." Hawkmoth explains as Aurore's mind starts to go blank while she's forcibly transformed.
"Hahahaha." Soon, Stormy Weather's cackling can be heard within the classroom as her transformation is complete.
Meanwhile, Roger is finishing his talk about his job as a police officer.
"And that's the basic idea of my job. It's quite dangerous, especially with Hawkmoth running around." Roger finishes as he looks at the room with a smile.
The students and adults clap their hands after his talk while Sabrina has a proud smile while standing next to him. After the applause, Kim raises his hand toward Roger.
"Yes?" Roger asks.
"Do you have an idea who Hawkmoth might be?" Kim asks curiously.
Roger blinks in slight surprise but not too much since he expected someone to ask that question.
"Well, I'm not allowed to talk about that publicly right now. Rest assured, though. The police are doing their best to figure out who Hawkmoth is with our limited information to put you and the rest of Paris at ease. He's our highest priority target right now." Roger tells Kim with a kind and comforting smile to try and put everyone in the room at ease.
After he says that, though, he and the rest of Miss Bustier's class can see Miss Mendeleiev's class running through the halls in a panic.
"What's going on?" Miss Bustier asks in worry when she sees the students running toward the stairway.
Right as she says that, Miss Mendeleiev opens the door toward her classroom and shouts.
"Aurore was turned into a villain again in the middle of my class! Quickly follow the school procedures!" She orders as she looks at the people in the room before exiting the room to try and help her class get to safety.
Everyone's eyes widen in shock and horror when they hear this, and Roger quickly takes action.
"Alright, everyone, please listen to Miss Bustier's directions. " Roger orders before grabbing his radio.
"This is Officer Roger. We have an Akuma at Lycée Françoise Dupont. I need backup." Roger says as he heads toward one of the classroom doors to get a better look at what's going on.
He rests a hand on his taser while peaking out the door to see what's happening outside. When he does, he sees a cackling Stormy Weather fly out of her classroom and into the sky above the school.
"It's time for round three, heroes! Let's see how you do this time!" Stormy Weather cackles while holding an umbrella.
It seems Aurore's umbrella pen changed with her and became an umbrella that matches her color scheme.
After she says that, Roger sees Hawkmoth's butterfly outline appearing over her face. After a few seconds, Stormy Weather's smile turns even more malicious.
"Good point, Hawkmoth. I should make a spectacle to get the heroes' attention." Stormy Weather says before aiming her umbrella toward the ground.
Roger's eyes widen, and he quickly shuts the classroom door while turning toward the room's occupants.
"Everybody take cover!" Roger orders as he tries to get away from the door.
As soon as he says that, a giant glacier appears in the middle of the school's courtyard, and ice starts to run along the entire school, freezing the doors and windows facing the glacier. The ice also slid under the door into the classroom, trapping Roger's leg slightly.
"Dad!" Sabrina shouts in worry as she sees her father's foot frozen in ice.
She quickly runs toward her father to see if he's okay.
"I'll be fine, Sabrina. We need everyone to evacuate, though. It seems like she plans on making this a battleground against the heroes." Roger tells everyone.
Everyone looks either anxious or excited when they hear this, Marinette, Adrien, Nate, and Sabrina especially so, as they glance around, or in Nate's case, glance at Marinette in worry.
"How are we supposed to do that?" Marlena asks as she looks at the children worriedly.
Roger points toward the outer windows of the room that haven't been frozen.
"Evacuate through the windows. Everyone needs to climb down and get to safety." Roger orders.
Hearing this, André and Miss Bustier head toward the windows and see if they can open them.
While the class is trying to figure out how to get out of the room and to safety, Mr. Damocles is trying to get his office door to open. But it's frozen over.
"Come on. Open up already." Mr. Damocles desperately says as he tries harder to get the door open.
Unfortunately, his desperate attempts to open the door cause the doorknob to break off and send him tumbling to the ground. He winches as he holds his hip while lying there, having landed funny.
"*Groans* It's on days like these when I wish I was secretly a superhero." Mr. Damocles groans as he rubs his hip, feeling a growing sense of helplessness and worry.
Unfortunately for Mr. Damocles, he forgets the phrase, 'Be careful what you wish for.' when he mutters this.
"There's the emotion I was looking for, Damocles. You'll be perfect for me to make a new villain." Hawkmoth says as he senses Mr. Damocles' emotions.
He quickly creates another butterfly and sends it after Mr. Damocles. It soon arrives at the school and heads toward Mr. Damocles as he sits at his desk while frantically typing something on his computer.
"Come on, how do you get out of a locked room?" Mr. Damocles asks as he types into the computer.
Due to being so focused on what he's typing, he doesn't notice the butterfly heading toward him and into his computer.
"Hello, Dark Owl," Hawkmoth says as his butterfly outline appears over Mr. Damocles' face.
Mr. Damocles' eyes widen in shock before he grabs his head.
"Get out of my head! You won't have me hurting anyone! While you're at it, release my student!" Mr. Damocles shouts as he tries to get Hawkmoth out of his head.
"I'm afraid I can't do that. But don't worry, I won't make you hurt anyone other than the real villains." Hawkmoth promises.
"Real villains?" Mr. Damocles asks in confusion as he holds his head in pain from the mental connection between them.
"Yes, Ladybug and Cat Noir. I simply wish to use their Miraculous to save someone important to me. I am desperate, and that's why I'm doing this. I have tried to get them to give me their Miraculous, but they refuse and have tied my hands." Hawkmoth explains in a faux sad and regretful tone.
"That doesn't give you the right to harm the children like this." Mr. Damocles says as he starts to feel his vision blackout.
"Don't worry; you'll be allowed to make sure your student doesn't hurt anyone else. I'm giving you the power to be the hero you dreamed of. You can get your students and staff to safety while ending my reign of terror. Won't you be the hero Paris deserves and put an end to those fakes?" Hawkmoth questions as Mr. Damocles finally succumbs to his will.
"Yes Hawkmoth." Mr. Damocles says with a malicious smile as his body is covered in black smoke.
Back in Miss Bustier's classroom, some teens are climbing out the windows down toward waiting adults, ready to catch them if the teens fall. As Rose climbs down, she slips and falls. Sabine rushes toward her to try and save her but doesn't have to. Someone else swoops in and snatches the teen before letting her down gently.
"Hoo, hoo, are you alright, young lady?" The person asks in a somewhat baritone voice.
"Yes, thank y-" Rose starts to thank the person until she gets a good look at them.
The person who saves her is the Akumatized Mr. Damocles, whose Akuma form seems to take the form of a darker version of his secret Owlman costume.
The costume consists of a black and dark brown full-body costume with metal stub areas on his chest, shoulders, elbows, and inner thighs and a golden owl symbol on the center of the chest. He also has pale brown padded gloves that stop before his elbows and matching boots with black soles and an orange stub at the tip. Around his neck is a black cape with a similar metallic design on the inside of it. Around his waist is a matching utility belt with different owl-themed equipment in pouches. Over his face is a half mask that covers the entire upper part of his face with tuft-like orange extensions going from above his eyes like eyebrows and extending toward the sides of his head while pointing backward. His physical appearance has also changed. He's become more muscular with a long orange mustache that matches the tuft-like extensions. His beard also changes to a defined brown one with two black marks. His eyes are yellow and owl-like with orange outlines around them.
"No problem, young lady. Now, let's get the rest of you to safety." Dark Owl announces as he looks toward the teens trying to climb down and those looking out the windows.
He pulls out four owl-themed boomerangs and throws them toward the ground under the students. The boomerangs expand to reveal tarps inside. The four corners stick into the floor and extend to create trampolines for the students.
"Use those to evacuate your class while I help others evacuate." Dark Owl orders the group before saying.
"Albert, activate flight mode."
Mr. Damocles' office was dark, and various computer monitors were hanging from the ceiling by their wires. On the screens are yellow pixels with Albert in the center of them. His appearance has also been changed by the Akumatization, with a more defined and human-like face that is a man with a black mustache.
"Of course, Dark Owl," Albert says calmly in a slight nasally tone.
Dark Owl's cape suddenly turns into a winged jetpack, and he flies off.
"Was that an Akuma?" Nate asks, baffled by what just transpired.
"I think so." Sabrina agrees, equally confused.
"We can figure that out later, everyone down." Roger orders while motioning for the others to get down.
Those left in the classroom or on the walls quickly use the trampolines to jump down until everyone is safely on the ground. Different parents then start taking their kids away from the school to safety.
"Uh, Mom. I've really got to stay." Marinette tries to excuse herself as Sabine pushes her and Nate away from the school.
"Nathalie, I want to make sure Nino gets home safely," Adrien begs the woman while motioning towards a running Nino.
Sabrina looks toward her father worriedly, but Roger gives her a hesitant nod to go ahead. Sabine and Nathalie are putting up more resistance, though.
"Absolutely not! I am not allowing you to stay here with two villains around." Sabine tells her daughter in an authoritative tone.
"He'll be fine, Adrien. It looks like Stormy Weather is keeping to the school. Right now, we need to worry about getting you to safety." Nathalie tells him while she leads him away from the school hurriedly.
"But/But-" The two say before being cut off.
"No buts/No Adrien, Nino will be fine." The two women cut them off.
Both heroes look nervous while hoping the other can handle the two until they get away from their guardian. Not knowing the other is in the same situation or that someone else will be fighting the villains in their stead.
Sabrina runs between a gap between two villains, and Barkk appears in front of her.
"Looks like it's time for your debut, Pup. Let's show them the ferocity of a pack of wolves." Barkk tells her with an excited grin, happy to be back in the action after so long.
"Right. Barkk, let the hunt begin." Sabrina commands, causing Barkk to fly into her collar, causing it to lose its camouflage mode and reveal its true form as she transforms.
Hawkmoth and the heroes are in for a surprise.
Finally, I have debuted all the abilities of the Butterfly Miraculous' second Akuma ability. Now, I can talk about it.
Hawkmoth's ability is called Lepidopterarium. How it works is that it puts a fragment of the magic used to create an Akuma into the glass bulb of Hawkmoth's cane so that Hawkmoth can create a second Akuma. Unlike his regular power, this one is limited to the ones he's already created and can make it more difficult for him to use.
While Hawkmoth doesn't need negative emotions as a catalyst to create Akumas, he needs them to make strong villains. This is more true for Lepidopterarium unless it manages to escape. Every time one of these butterflies returns to Hawkmoth after controlling someone, their magic will grow slightly stronger. It's basically a superficial version of Hawkmoth's regular Akumatization power. It has the same mechanics but on a much weaker scale.
Also, when Hawkmoth loses the butterfly made from the fragment of magic, he's unable to use that Akuma with Lepidopterarium again until he recreates that Akuma with his regular ability.
Also, Dog Sabrina, my readers. I'm excited about introducing her to the story. I plan to have this story focus on more than just Marinette and Adrien from the get-go. So, be excited about who else appears and gets a Miraculous.

My last Terminabug sketch from this year 2022.
That focus on battles against Akumas but featuring the Terminator. It's talking about What if the Terminator (in support of Ladybug and Cat Noir) fought against akumatized villains.
Happy New Year 2023.

I did this a bit ago with just season 5, but now I want to see on a grander scale:
To clarify, this does not mean your favorite episode, but rather, your favorite episode of this ship. Because this had to be whittled down so much to fit into the amount of spaces available for a poll, this doesn't include every Ladynoir episode, so feel free to click other and put your episode in the tags!
This is for the purpose of satisfying my curiosity of ship trends in ml, so please share for a larger sample size!
