So y’all, I walked into my bedroom and my sister was watching miraculous. She is on the ‘Jubilation’ episode. I walked in on the alarm clock scene. And for some reason I’m laughing so hard! I walked in on the creepy baby scene!
if i had a nickel for every time chat noir almost cataclysmed a man from anger stemming from his love life, i’d have 2 nickels. which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that’s it’s happened twice right?
One thing we can all agree on: we’re all glad the ladynoir dream was only six minutes and not the entire episode, or else we all would have gone insane with heartbreak
sir your child’s deepest desire is to defeat you and have all of paris cheer on, go on a movie date with his bug-themed superhero partner but get interrupted by their principal in an owl costume, get married to said bug partner in an outfit that looks WAY too similar to cat blanc for my liking and also hot dog dan from america is there, have four kids that are dolls, take said doll children to akuma(?) fights where he cataclysms their bottle, grow out a fake moustache and live on some island with his bug wife, and finally try to get ice-cream with his little family, before a miLLION ALARM CLOCKS RUIN EVERYTHING AND THEN HE LOOKS SO SAD ON THAT BENCH AND THEN HE WAKES UP AND TRIES TO CATACLYSM HIS PRINCIPAL (still an owl) FOR MESSING WITH HIS FEELINGS
I might be reading too much into it but, yeah, the whole dream scene is meant to be funny and campy (to cut off the deeply dramatic implications), hence the creepy babies, the mustache and the improbable alarm clocks. It's technically still a kid show. This is funny for the kids.
But!
I've been thinking, these two have no idea what kind of person hides under the other's mask, they shouldn't even know each other's actual age. So when they dream of a life together it's just a very generic married life/kids situation because they have no context for what their life could really be like. In their dreams they can't immagine to see each others real faces, without the masks.
And in reality they're kids! Just kids! So of curse in their imagination babies look like dolls and no one ever grows up. This is just them dreaming of playing house together, it's a child's fantasy of what adulthood looks like.
And maybe it's for the best, I think I would have been ten times more heart broken if they showed us these two traveling together, going to concerts or to the beach, to the movies with their friends, shopping or watching a show cozy at home... Just doing regular adolescent couple things and actually growing up together... That would have been too much for my heart.
