Another problem child

Ngl there was probably many times you both confused, irritated, and made him question why he ever decided to become a teacher in the first place

At one point or another you definitely brought your own sleeping bag and the second you see him go to lay down, you're joining him.

Did he stop you? No.

That's where the soft spot appears. Another problem child to look after

     Aizawa closed the book and looked up at his class “Alright class, finish the questions using the articles given.” He let out a sigh and closed his eyes. A nap was sounding like music to his ears right now. He picked up his bright yellow sleeping bag and welcomed the warm stumbler soon to be coming eagerly. Content with himself after laying down and zipping it back up he was ready for some much needed sleep. That was until he heard scurrying around him, accompanied by the whispers of his students. He wasn’t about to open his eyes- but wait. Next to him? Like, directly next to him? With a groan he opened one eye and turned his head that leaned against the wall. And what was he met with? You. Sitting there in your own, bright colored sleeping bag. Your paper and article in front of you. Zipping it up you began to read the text in front of you. Nope. He was not going to deal with this right now. As long as you did your work he couldn’t care less.     “Seriously?!” He was met with Denki’s scream. “No fair! I didn’t bring a sleeping bag!” He pouted. A string of angry mutters left his mouth.      “And it wouldn’t matter if you did, you all do your work where you are. I won’t have anyone else getting up. This problem child is enough for me.” Closing his eyes again he let the class proceed in their mad murmurs. Turning to you one last time. A smile on your face and your earbuds in. Satisfied, he let the class continue their questions of ‘why?’ while he pretended to be asleep. You definitely had problem child privileges

You and the bakusquad are something to fear.

Busting out in dance with Sero randomly? Yes.

Mina and you doing tiktoks while changing classes? Absolutely.

Convincing Jiro to blast music with you at ungodly hours of the night? Hell yes.

Making others question how did Denki and you get into UA in the first place? 100%

Dying your hair with Kirishima? All the time.

Annoying the hell out of Bakugou with references that will never make sense to him? You bet.

The amount of times the teachers had walked into memes blasted around the room because of you guys is uncountable at this point.

    “Mina, Y/n, I don’t care if you have to dance your way to class if that allows you to get there on time, but for the love of All Might no more videos in the halls!” Aizawa’s voice rang down the hall.     “Yes Aizawa Sensei!” You both spoke in unison, then ran to your next classes laughing.

    “And what is going on here?” What were you to say to Iida now? 3 am in the common room, you and Denki sat on the floor next to each other. What were you doing? You two were currently in a very intense conversion about why eating tide pods was a good idea or not. Were you going to tell him that? Hell no.

You and the Dekusquad? Half the time it was just confusion.

You and Midoriya each ranting about two completely different topics. One about the newest news update regarding All Might, the about how dark and demented the story behind Nemo really is. Which is which? I’ll let you decide.

You and Uraraka drop kicking homophobes in your free time. Highlight of your day honestly.

Convincing Iida to do tiktoks with you? Look at those robot moves go!

Shoto and you out for soba at 4 in the morning

Tsu and you going out for the sickest pair of matching outfits.

    “How can they even understand each other?”     “I don’t think they breathed once during this whole conversation!”     “How long has this been going on?”     The confused faces of your classmates surrounded you two. Deku talking with unwavering speed about the new hero who just saved a bus of children from a villain, while you matched his pace with the ways to successfully get away with arson. Was the class concerned? Yes.

    “And where were you two this time?” Aizawa stood at the doors of the dorm building. His arms crossed and his hair tied back. Who knows how long he waited for Shoto and you to return. You left at 2. What was it now? 3 am. Hah, that’s fun.     “Soba.”     “Nowhere!”     Shoto and you spoke together. Oh well, there goes that.

Not to be that person, but I think it’s time to acknowledge we’re at the precipice for either change from sacrifice or mass annihilation. Now hear me out-

As a dweeb, I’m going to look at this from what I know best: fiction.

Let’s look at:

Barbie (growing up and learning to let go of an idealistic life)

Marvel (the old heroes making way for a new generation)

These two are the most blatant and famous examples I can think of from western media. Now let’s look at anime:

Jjk (hottest topic recently; alrdy a lot of meta, and one post explained it rlly well w/ smth along the lines of “Gojo spent his life trying to reshape the old system, without realising in order to eradicate the old system he himself has to go bcuz he himself is such an integral part to that system”)

bnha (say what you will about the fandom, the anime makes some good points abt morality and societal change. And one of them is the sacrifice of the current heroes to create new generation of Hope. See: All Might & Hawks)

These are the most popular shonen anime I can think of that delivers this point well. Ofc u can argue that these “changes” are just to fit a fictional narrative/ add to character tragedies (which is true to an extent), but as a literature fanatic, I do think there’s merit in thinking more critically abt how fiction is closely linked to reality. (Think of the rise in gothic literature, hero comics, or even in academic texts with the pressure to produce)

This links also to (imo) the rise in villain sympathy, that I may or may not touch on in another post later. But in case I don’t get to doing that, it boils down to an acknowledgement that there’s something wrong abt society as it is now and the need to challenge the accepted status quo. (There’s a certain element of danger to this tho. I’ll just leave that bit as food for thought until later)

The point being, it’s time for us as a generation to make a choice. But I don’t think, at our current stage, that we’re strong enough to make the meaningful choice.

I'd like to express my interest in the head canon that afo is gen z or close to it like gen alpha or something and just partakes in gen z culture.

I'm sooooo wishing Hori does something with him or gives him a backstory because like for some reason I just get the urge to hug him whenever I see the panel of his face (because he looks so tired physically and mentally) kind of the way I feel when I see baby toya 😭😭. I want him to have a backstory so bad so I have a reason to feel bad for him and just wanna hug him. I feel like a horrible human being. Honestly if he ends up gen z in canon let's just except the da fact that he's gay.

Gen Z shigaraki and spiner

i think that, shigaraki is a great representation of some problem of the gen z.. Like it may be just me but even if hikikomori exist for a long time now, its appropriate with our generation. Plus i also can relate to a lot of their issues(hum hum childhood shiggy exept that i didn't kill anyone ;-; )

I also am not the best to explain such a things in english so if soemone get my point please repost as a respond.

I feel like its particulary hard for us, i mean if shigaraki continue his life with his real family i think that it will be a pretty "commun" gen z one from the struggle i had saw in my family and my friend's one when i was a child. I also have the sae tics as him when i'm stress out and a lot of my friend have to. Of course its not everyone but i feel like our generation is kinda fucked up and those vilains had help me go throught a lot as i was like "i'm not alone"

Its kind of a vent post honestly i feel like shit today.

The things is that i think that we needed this. They aren't the best writen vilains even if i love Tomura more then everything but like...i feel like they are somehow having gen z problems. The online addiction and parents issues are more expose now and i feel like, even Dabi somehow have that problem. The parents that want to make you someway and then realise that you'r not "enought" 'cause we'r never enought right ? We'r just phone addict :) we'r just spoiled brat and yea maybe we are but we don't just "creat" that feelings.itsin us that's all.

Me as a Hero | Hawks x Gen Z!Hero!OC

[Facing the Public]

So I came up with this idea or concept that I really want to just have fun with. It's me as a hero but also as gen z and this series will more than likely include just different things, I think would be funny or interesting to explore in the MHA world. Season 6 really opened a lot up for some of these ideas so I'm really excited to see where this series takes me. For now, I've tried writing this with head cannons, but it is not an x reader until I can get my format together. This is going to be very unserious and kind of a word vomit, but I think it's a cool idea so yeah. I'm mainly using this as an excuse to write small ideas into a short story to get me back into writing :))

Hero Name: Atlas

Quirk: Atlas Moth

Physique: Chubby, 5'5

I personally pictured her as black/mixed. So do with that what you will.

Little background: Atlas became a hero very young. She graduated high school (UA) early due to the hero commission. Her moth wings give her flight, durability, and silk weapons that stem from her wings. As part moth she is naturally chubby due to her quirk Atlas Moth taking after the largest moth in the world. She faces daily criticism but does her best to ignore it. She met Hawks shortly after graduation and because of the similarity in their quirks they teamed up often and now work alongside one another as partners. She works at UA part time and is close with Class 1a. There will be very brief mentions of season 6 (not in great detail) just if you've seen season 6 you'll know what I'm talking about.

We find Hawks and Atlas after saving daycare students from a villain, but they were unable to prevent the substantial damage that was done to the school and the surrounding buildings.

A group of kids had walked by thanking Hawks and I profusely for everything we had done. I turned to Hawks and was not surprised to find him already looking at me.

"What?" He asked.

I just gently smiled, "that's why we do what we do. For them, for us." And a smile also reached his face.

Because of the work we'd both done I knew there was quite a bit of media coverage. A reporter in fact had walked over to us both, a mic in hand and a camera following.

Keigo grabbed my hand, and I knew exactly why.

The reporter seemed nice enough, giving a quick hello before starting with: “So Ms. Atlas civilians are confused about your original mission statement that you made when you first became a hero at 17. 'You promised us we’d be safe however the damage you’ve left behind shows otherwise.' Some people say. What do you have to say in regard to that?”

Hawks gripped my hand tighter, and I looked at him for the corner of my eye. He was shaking his head.

I know what he’s thinking. And I’m not going to listen :))))

Atlas: Well I’d say, “are you a hero?"

Reporter: Excuse me?

Atlas: Are you any of your critics out there heroes?

Reporter: I’m not sure I take your meaning.

Atlas: Well let me spell it out for you. A lot of you civilians have a lot to say about how a heroes job should be done but I don’t see any of you out here. Did you go to hero school?

Reporter: *Shocked and Silenced*

Atlas: Do you see this *points to fresh scars* or this *points to hawks fresh scars* if you can’t see it or just refuse to its blood. Blood, we spilled trying to protect all of you. Which should tell you SURPRISE we’re not perfect.

Hawks: Okay thank you so much, we gotta go Atlas, you know more bad people to put away.

Atlas: Wait wait I’m not done one more thing.

Hawks: are you gonna be nice?

Atlas: of courseeeee

Hawks: *rolls his eyes because how much worse could it get*

Atlas: Everyday you look at a hero and you think we’re more than you and that we’re better. But we’re human just like you, which means we’re all equals, and I can still beat your as-

Later at UA

Class 1a was spread out in there dorm common room around Hawks and I. We'd brought treats for them as usual. They knew me both as Hawk's hero partner and there HR instructor (ironically).

Kirishima: I know we’re supposed to respect the public and all that because that's what you taught us but WOW ATLAS THAT WAS SO MANLY

Aizawa: I should be scolding you but I can’t lie. I’m proud of you.

Bakugo: Heh them idiots had it coming!

Atlas: See hawks it wasn’t all that bad

Hawks: Atlas, you told the civilians that you can still beat them up and you told them they could catch your hands?? What part of what I just said is not THAT bad?

Midoriya: Thanks Ms. Atlas but you didn’t have to ruin your reputation for me.

Atlas: Don’t worry Izuku I’ve just been waiting for the right time to speak my mind. Besides you shouldn’t have to take all there crap. You’re doing your best and that’s all that matters. All of you. Just because they’re the people you’re meant to save doesn’t give them the right to talk bad about you. Any one of you could have become villains and then they’d really have something to say but you didn’t. All of you choose the high road. For whatever reason.

Atlas: Now me personally you know being a chubby hero with a cute quirk I’m already publicly criticized so I could care less what the public thinks of me. But you know that’s just me. Each of you will have to decide how much of the public life you’ll let dictate how you live your life. But that’s your decision and yours alone. Okay now I’m off my soap opera.

Hawks: Don’t worry. It was a pretty cute one watching you get all passionate.

Atlas: Shut up Keigo

I won't even lie to you I've been wanting a way to voice my frustrations with the civilians from season 6. In all movies and shows I've always personally disliked the civilian's reactions when the hero makes a mistake (examples; transformers dark of the moon, Captain America civil war, Batman Vs. Superman). While it is realistic it still pisses me off.

Anyways that was super fun. I'm excited for other ideas I have. Next one will more than likely be x reader because it just flows better that way.

MHA Ch.380 mini-review

La Brava will make Tsukauchi age prematurely (as if being friends with Toshi didn’t do that already…and as if his sister didn’t constantly give him crap before that!)

In a chapter about video recording, and how seeing is believing (unless it’s an illusion!), the perspective of watching La Brava and Tsukauchi from inside the screen was cool.

The falling Aizawa panel reminds me SO much of the Vol.28 cover. Where did Kurogiri take him and Mic? Are they going to be on a rooftop somewhere? Or are they heading towards Gunga? Maybe Kamino to pick up Shoto and Iida?

Tiny Midoriya and tiny Shigaraki!

AFO keeps going back and forth on whether his old body is useless or essential. Of all the possibilities, AFO forcing both copies of his quirk into Tomura in order to break Tomura and Tenko is…well, it’s pretty boring. I suppose that’s how we’ll get our war inside the vestige world? (Either that or Rewind could give AFO more quirks back, including the stockpiling one he previously gave to Yoichi.) Still, Hawks and AFO have been stalling since 364. Time to shake things up!

Love Camie. Love love love her. FWIW, I don’t have any issues with the English translation — it seemed to preserve Camie’s slang, whereas the Spanish version went for a very straightforward sentence. It’s basically “By the skin of our teeth! It wouldn’t have made me happy if such a handsome man died!” I suppose using “guapura” instead of “guapo” makes the sentence a touch slangy, but barely.

TBH, I more wanna know why she’s straddling a finger rocket?!!?!?? Like did she choose that as another illusion? Is she gonna go to AFO and be all “OK Boomer, I heard your vibe was, like, totes finger drip, so how about you catch these hands instead?” Hawks had it ALL wrong — the best time-stalling tactic is forcing the ancient Demon Lord to understand Gen Z slang.

Also - in the Remedial Arc, Camie called Shoto a specimen, a handsome man, and a cutie. She called her illusion version of him dreamy. IMO, “hottie” is right in line with those terms. Even back then, Horikoshi was making meta jokes about how nobody in-universe could understand her slang.
