Found (Prologue)
Description: Once there were four brothers, Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raphael, and Donatello, who were always together. Until, one day, one got separated from the rest. Donatello. Now years later, they face each other. Although Leo and Raph don't remember this mutant as their brother, Mikey remembers this turtle as his friend when younger. So does Donatello. What will they do? Will they face each other? Will the truth ever come out?

"My sons, wake up."
It was an early morning, but it was time to get on the move for this old man. To search for a home.
Four little turtles woke up from their little bundles, they were babies. So, they didn't understand anything yet. Just knew that it was time to move. They did every morning, although they didn't know for what.
They still hadn't learned how to speak yet and barely all knew how to walk. They got in a little line to follow each other from behind, like baby ducks with their mother.
"Make sure to stay close." Off they went!
Now, you may be wondering who these four baby turtles are. Let's introduce them, from oldest to youngest.
Leonardo, also known as Leo. He is the oldest of the four He was a little leader who followed anything the old rat said to do, well, to the best of his understanding anyway. He liked the old rat and how he handled situations, he also watched as his father practiced. Fascinated with the arts of ninjutsu. The little turtle is determined to follow in this man's footsteps.
Raphael, Raph for short. This boy is the second oldest and always saw Leonardo as a challenge! He is also known as the rebel of the small family. Of course, he respects the rat who's been taking care of him, but he still loves to cause trouble and get into tiny fights with his brothers. When it came to fighting, he is the strongest out of the four. He is the brawns of the team and he was proud of it!
Donatello, Donnie, Don, he has many little nicknames. Now, he is the smartest of the four. He was to first one to learn how to walk and started "speaking" gibberish but at least he tried. He could feel what was dangerous and would try to warn his brothers. When they got boo-boos, he didn't know exactly what to do, but he would kiss them on it and convince them it made the boo-boo go away. He is the brain of the family.
Michelangelo is the youngest! He was a little slow but he paid the family back by making them laugh and giggle. No matter how hard things seemed to be, Mikey was always the one to make things seem like there was light. He was always goofing off and was always close to his brothers. However, he especially looked up to his brother, Donatello. I mean, all he had to do was kiss his boo-boo and it made it go away! Like, what?! Magic!
There they are, all four brothers. Don't worry, I won't forget to tell you about "the rat". His name use to be Yoshi Hamato, but that was years ago. When he had a family of his own in Tokyo. He lost it all one day, his wife and his brother. For heaven's sake, he turned into a giant rat from some ooze! He thought this was some sort of punishment until he saw he wasn't alone. Four baby turtles mutated with him, but they weren't like him. He was a human turned into a rat while these turtles were turtles and are still turtles! Just babies.
He knew this must have been a blessing, not to replace his old family, but to a new beginning. To start a new life! Now, he and his sons are looking for a new home. Although he's only known them for 2 months, they were his. He would not allow harm to come their way.
A big yawn comes from Mikey and Master Splinter sees maybe it's time for a nap, "Alright my sons, let's get comfortable here and stop for a bit. We shall continue our journey later." The babies all piled up next to each other and had fallen asleep without help, so did the master.
However, one baby woke up and decided they wanted to play. They got up and started playing with its surroundings, trash cups, the sewer water, and anything he saw.
Grr...
Mikey pats his tummy, he was hungry! Maybe there is food around. The little turtle looks around and sees something. He squints his eyes and there he sees a little fish in the sewage water. Forgetting about his hunger, he slowly starts following the fish. It would be so cool to show his daddy what he found!
Mikey lets out a soft giggle which awakens one of his brothers, Donatello. The turtle rubs his eyes and sees Mikey running off. Donnie rises and follows his brother. He tries yellowing out his name but nothing but gibberish comes out.
Mikey was so lost in getting the fish, he didn't see that there was a big drop coming up. Donnie saw it though.
Feeling cold, the oldest wakes up, Leonardo. He sees his brothers far off in the distance and wakes up Master Splinter.
He groans and wakes up seeing only 2 of his sons, "Michelangelo?! Donatello?! Leo, where are your brothers?"
Leo points off to show where his brothers went, "Come! Wake up, Raphael. We must get your brothers." Both oldest are now awake and start running, following behind their father.
Mikey was still following the small fish until he hears his father call his name. He turns around and sees everyone chasing him.
Was this a game? Ruuun!
Mikey giggles and goes faster, running. Mikey had gotten to the edge and stopped. He was about to fall! The water was pushing and pulling his tiny legs to go off the edge. He wasn't strong enough! He slips. He falls...
Mikey closes his eyes, fearing for his life. Until he feels someone's hand around him, he looks up. It's his brother. Donatello using both of his hands and using all his power pulls Mikey up and throws him across out of harm's way.
Mikey lands on his side, scraping his fragile skin as well as hitting his head on the ground. He cries. Master Splinter goes down on his knees and makes sure he's not majorly hurt. He looks up to see where Donatello was supposed to stand, but doesn't see him.
Fear creeps upon him and he stands, telling his sons to stay where they are so they wouldn't accidentally fall. He looks down from the edge. Maybe he was hanging in for dear life and waiting for his father to save him, but no, nothing.
He falls to his knees and cries. He had lost one of his sons. He had lost family. Again. He swore harm would never come to his now children and although they might've not been his, they are important to him. He looks back at his sons.
Mikey was crying and Leo and Raph were trying to comfort him. He rises and walks towards the boys. He wipes his tears and Mikey's too. Never. He never wants to see Mikey cry again. He never wants to see any of them care about losing a loved one.
He knows it's his fault that it happened, he should've stayed awake while his sons slept. But now he knows better. Definitely.
"Let us go my sons. I promise not to let anything like that hurt you again." They walk but something feels off to Mikey.
Wasn't someone supposes to be in front of him? Someone else... someone with... olive skin...
Later that night, though, above the sewers were ninjas scoping around. Heading back to their master after their work.
"Ugh man, why does catching people have to be so much work."
"I don't know man, Shredder could've easily done it himself."
"Shhh! Shut up, man! You know he's got ears everywhere..."
These men aren't ordinary men, they were ninjas who worked for the Shredder. A man who knew no mercy towards others.
"You're right. I wouldn't want-" a hand goes over his mouth.
"Shh..."
The ninja removes his friend's hand from his mouth, "Dude, I heard you the first time jeez."
"No! Don't you hear that? Listen..."
They are both silent for some time and at first, they heard nothing, but then...
"Someone's crying."
"Sounds like a kid or something, where is it coming from?"
They look around trying to follow the small whimpers and cries. One looks down, "I think it's coming from down there." He points to the manhole cover.
"The sewers? Why kind of dumbass kid got stuck down there?"
They both grab the manhole cover and open it, setting it aside, "Hey kid, I am not going down there so grab my hand, or else we're leaving you!"
The man feels someone's hand grab onto, it feels weird. Whatever. He pulls the kid up and onto his lap, "What-" he throws whatever he found on the ground and stands up.
"What is that?!"
They both have eyes on what seems to look like a frog to them. The kid cries again feeling lost and confused.
"You made it cry dumbass!" The guy slaps his friend's head.
"It made me almost cry!"
He rolls his eyes and crouches down to its level, "Hi, are you okay?"
The kid just nods his head and stops crying. However, he was shivering and seemed to be wet all over. Probably from the water in the sewer?
"Poor thing," he picks it up and grabs a cloth from his pocket, cleaning the kid all around, "Should we take it to the Shredder?"
His friend sighs, "Yeah, sure, let the boss get mad at us for bringing him a random animal kid thing."
"I think it's cute." Holding the kid carefully, they return to the lair of the Shredder.
They both walk in, kneeling on one leg, "The deed is done, sir. Target has been eliminated."
"Well done. You may leave."
Standing back up, the one holding the kid speaks, "Permission to speak, Master?"
"No. I have no more needs for you. Leave."
"Yes, Master Shredder." They bow and as they are about to leave, a little voice peeps up.
"Father, father! They have something, what is it? I wish to see."
The Shredder sees that one of his minions seemed to be holding something, "What is it you have there?"
"This is what we found and what I wanted to speak to you about Master." He walks up slowly and puts down the little mutant on the floor, it stands up.
Shredder's eyes widened with confusion while his daughter looked in amazement, "Oh!" She gets up from her "throne" and walks towards it, "Hello, my name is Karai! What are you?"
The creature stays silent as it does not know what to say. What can it say?
"Oh daddy, can we keep it?!" She hugs the mutant. He was about her size.
"What is your name?"
The room is silent once again. Just as Shredder was about to send it to the dungeon, he speaks, "Donatello. M-my name is Donatello."

hey yall! I know I don't post much (well at all) b u t I have news~
I made a story on wattpad!
Now im gonna set some things down
1. i have more chapters ready but i will only update on Friday-Sunday (only once cuz im busy
2. this won't be my only story oh no no no. Im working on my real project rn (i still need to do the cover) once its out I'll make an announcement for that too
3. im (at the time of posting) new to wattpad so if its a bit fucky then im sorry
4. (last one) i will also upload this to ao3 and the story im working on. when i do get an ao3 account I'll repost this post with the link
