I saw someone taking comms for coloring manga panels and it’s a big NO NO.

You can do it for fun but it’s not legal to make money off it. Also some author explicitly don’t want their work reposted, recolored, screenshotted or edited, so please be mindful of it !!! It doesn’t matter if it’s a popular manga or not , respect creators, thank youuu

i think it would be funny if people occasionally arose from the dead. like if that was a real-life one-in-a-million but well-documented Thing That Sometimes Happens, and the entire legal system around death (laws on inheritance & marriage & murder etc) had to include caveats for the unlikely-but-scientifically-possible event that the dead person in question might spontaneously self-resurrect, even years or decades after death. it would raise so many inconvenient and absurd possibilities

#imagine the legal system in that timeline #property laws and inheritance laws and bigamy laws--what happens if your spouse resurrects 10 years after they die?#think how AWKWARD that would be #what happens if you inherit from someone who comes back do you have to give the inheritance back? what if u used it to buy stuff?#does the jetski u bought with the money your grandpa left u 15 years ago in college now belong to grandpa?#or is there a statute of limitations?#if the guy you got convicted of murdering returns from the dead does your conviction get changed from murder to grievous harm?#how is the grievousness of the harm measured? in the number of years the guy spent as a corpse?#what if you spend 20 years in prison and the victim comes back to life and it turns out grievous harm would have landed you only 5ish years #do you get reimbursed for the extra 15 years u spent in prison?#what is the legal process for proving you have come back to life?#what are the minimum legal requirements for establishing a revenant's identity?#does it become regulation to make fingerprint/dental records of every single person who dies just on the off chance one of them comes back?#what happens if it's someone from like 300 years ago?#the world has changed and everyone they know is dead. is there a social services department that can help with that?#there would be a whole branch of counseling services for people who have reanimated or had a loved one reanimate #grief 2.0 counselors

Once again frustrated by how Difficult it is to do very basic tasks

#this is not even about executive dysfunction today #today i'm annoyed my phone simply won't make calls and every pharmacy i have contacted charges $100 for the covid vaccine #they're paying these kids $13 an hour obviously they haven't heard about the cdc program #they don't like train you on that stuff i get it #it's just. i would like a vaccine to put off getting covid again thus putting off the disability i'll eventually get from it #given enough times it's bound to fuck me up for good i'm just trying to make money until then #but it's just hard. everything is hard for no reason #i could just pay the $100 i guess it's doable it's just a bummer #i'm trying to save up to get out of this state give me a break i am very tired

I'm glad you did!#first off as a general rule I think it's always okay to message any individual independent artist/creator #and tell them that you like their work #you may think they probably get lots of positive feedback and such and another one doesn't matter #but I would bet money that the actual amount is almost always smaller than you'd think #so every kind comment has the potential to cheer them up and inspire them #and motivate them to continue creating and posting their work online for people to see #messages like that can linger at the back of your mind for ages #I regularly think back to the nice things people have said about my art over the years #especially when I'm struggling with art block and feel like what I make isn't worth anything and that I'm bad and my stuff is bad #this got a little long winded and I'm probably preaching to the choir #but what I wanted to say is don't be afraid to let creatives know if you like their work it's always appreciated #I'm flattered to hear my dog doodles motivate and inspire you!#animation and illustration are both good choices imo #I wish you all the best on whatever you end up doing #answered #starfruitwyne

listen. harry brewis isn't exempt to criticism. however I think it's very ironic and telling how much people have been missing the very point of his video on plagiarism and turned his name on a new topic to exploit as of late. when i was trying to look up clips of harry's older videos this came up, and the contents were about the creator clearly being disapointed her line of work (drama youtube) was disregarded as sloppy and something with no effort put into it.

while I do understand her hurt, the thumbnail and title is inherently clickbaiting potential viewers, and her point comes off as a nitpick of a segment harry made out of his own frustration with content mills and how much situations on or between content creators can be so throughly exploited for "commentary" when people don't end up saying anything at all. I think that this is a prime example of the things harry deemed important to criticise. someone who clearly had a point to make about harry's video felt the need to make sure they could milk the shit out of it.

#hbomberguy #as a long term fan it actually bothers me how people will think of harry as “the guy who murders people's reputations”#or only judge his character by this one video #because harry doesn't usually do stuff like this or at least not only stuff like this #this format is very familiar to a lot of his videos #even the ones that seem trivial #harry also talks about dangerous right wing ideologies and videogames and series he cares about #and it feels so desingenious to just label him as this big takedown video essayist who's egotistical and full of himself #yes the guy has flaws and mistakes and some of his older work isn't the most polished. don't get me wrong you are free to criticise him #but not while you are making money off something that seems like a nitpick in retrospect or using a strawman argument

the new video was greatly needed if watcher had any hopes of staying afloat. unfortunately, this backpedaling does not change the fact that

1) high production "television quality" content is what they want to make

2) this content is evidently not what people want to watch (even post-apology i'm seeing a lot of people saying they liked bfu better than anything watcher has produced)

again, if they have a clear vision of what they want to make, that's great. but unless there's a market for that content, then it's not going to turn a profit, or break even for that matter. yes, artists deserve to be paid for their work, but art is always bought by people who want and have an interest in said art.

im an artist pursuing my dreams too, but i don't expect people to buy my niche paintings just on the principle that i am an artist creating what i want. if i wanted to make money from this and turn it into a business, i would take commissions and specifically create what other people want. that is what having any kind of artistic job is about, unfortunately.

it's great if what you want to create and what people want to see overlap, but that's not always the case. and i really fear this is the case with watcher and they won't pivot enough to fix any of their problems

#here's an example #i know gmm is a way bigger company but #rhett and link do gmm stuff #but occasionally produce something a lot more involved and creative that is inspired solely by their wants #those videos dont do nearly as good as gmm does #but its an outlet for them to still have some creative control #and the people who like those videos love them (im one of them!)#so it is possible to both produce content that is profitable and to make content that pleases you as an artist #you just have to find a balance with it and unfortunately watcher has no balance at all #like even watcher's 'lower quality' work uses so many resources like. guys theres a reason youre bleeding money #and people giving you $6 isnt going to fix it #they need an overhaul #cut back to basics to find their footing before trying these super ambitious projects that they're not sure will pay off #watcher #im talking again

I can’t believe I have to say this again.

But like.

Do not leave comments that bash on the actual show whilst ‘complimenting’ my fanworks. It does not make me happy at all IN FACT I really HATE it when people do that.

I create stuff for this fandom because I adore the show with all its flaws and everything. I grew up with the show and I adore the characters so much. So when I receive comments or tags saying stuff like “Ugh if only the writers knew how to write like that” or “You should be in charge of canon cos canon is shit lol”, it just fucks up my mood and it makes me feel grossed out.

There are millions of things out there to write or say to other people about their work without having to bring down canon and what the actual professionals have worked on.

Keep your gripes about the show off my work.

Always lowkey simmering a Leverage AU in the back of my head hear me out:

Ted is an ex-insurance investigator who was able to get his son life-saving medical treatment because his first, original Crime Pal Beard was like ‘Ted if your company doesn’t come through with the coverage, we’re doing things my way.’

The company did not come through. The company did let him go due to suspicion of Ted’s involvement in the incident, but Ted will happily remind folks that no charges were formally pressed. Henry is alive and healthy and living with Michelle, who divorced Ted shortly thereafter (not just because of pre-existing marital problems, but because Ted wouldn’t tell her anything about why the doctors “””suddenly decided to do the procedure for free”””). Shortly thereafter, Ted fled the country.

What Ted learned from the whole experience is that there’s a lot of people out there, good people just trying to live by the rules, but sometimes things happen that are just out of their control. And well- if we’ve got the means to help the good people out when no one else will, then shouldn’t we try?

“We’ve got means,” Beard agrees. “And motives.”

They do things Beard’s way now.

Relation: Saiph's half-brother. Neither currently knows the other exists

#Finn's ocs #Finn's art #oc references #i wrote the descs while w the kids so hopefully they make sense. my attention was split #but anyway here in the tags I'll talk about the designs in relation to their kids lol #polaris is emulating thuban moreso than anyone else. her color scheme and outfit motifs are the same as his- they ARE his #her original outfit is clothes she took and diy'd into her own so she could go off into the world and well presumably look for him at first #the truth is she always wanted to see the world that's why she loved maps. in a way this was an excuse. in another way she was just lonely #but doesn't understand loneliness. also the fact that she's not his daughter by blood is part of that #bc of her actual parents (not as relevant character-wise) she sees all relationships as temporary and she has issues connecting #ananke i wanted to mostly look intimidating in a way that Bella really isn't #Bella puts on skull hairties and fishnets and stuff but she's very much. a cute softie trying to look edgy. she has pink twintails #she's so different from her mom in pretty much every way but she still did have that ideal of strength drilled into her #still her take on it is softer. she's the team leader now but she's really pretty lenient aside from the important No Killing rule ofc #w Rhea and Arche i had a bit of a flower theme. pussywillow (lol) means motherhood and buttercups mean childishness #so. mother and child #but rhea is interesting bc she's raising a whole different kid now that she's in a different place in life #if you do the math she had Saiph young. and it was alright for a while until his dad (again not as important) died #so she didn't have support or money. but she had a connection to the guild because his dad's old sword teacher is a member (hmm)#but she was too scared/ashamed to visit. she just left him his dad's old knife because that's all she had (THE KNIFE IS IMPORTANT)#arche is her kid with her second husband and her new beginning. this will cause some inner problems for Saiph when he meets them...#Poerava was kinda designed to have rich lady vibes because remember Al's family is practically nobility #but more importantly she's designed to look like a mom. with the low ponytail and tired eyes #the black pearl of her namesake as the centerpiece of her outfit too #again she's got the healthiest relationship with her kid here by a longshot #but i mean don't worry Al still got the daddy issues so he's not getting away unscathed #I already drew Taurus with the zodiac knights though so i didn't feel the need to reintroduce him #anyway Mira really has 0 connection to any family at all she was found as an orphaned baby after a monster attack #obviously she had parents but beyond town of origin it's unknown who so she has no connections to any sort of past parental figure #the guild is her one and only family and that's how she wants it. she wants to be with them forever the past doesn't matter

#inspired when i saw an ad on youtube for wizard101 #where it said “come play for free and explore 16 different worlds!!!” and i was like okay thats a fucking lie #you cant even get all the way through the FIRST world #personally i think its stupid and inconvenient to have to pay to play the MAIN QUESTLINE #for the people who dont have time to grind the set amount of time you pay for membership or those who dont have money #you either pay for a year and are pressured to do as much as you can before time runs out #or you're stuck doing nothing. there's very little you can do without membership #like the main selling point of the game is so you can finish the story. thats what we download the game for in the first place #it gives you the impression that the priority here is your money and not the consumer's enjoyment and comfort #like there are plenty of games who make the entire game free and still are well off #we pay like 40-50 dollars on bundles and even more than that on crowns. that should be more than enough #there are other games where if you dont have membership it barely affects your gameplay experience overall #or games that have no membership function but still can make decent money #imo having to pay to just actually play the game doesnt make it free. like yeah you can do other stuff like fish and duel each other-#and thats it. you walk around the commons and talk ig #thats like the biggest reason i dropped the game its just wayy too expensive and inconvenient to play it #wizard101 #w101 #wiz101 #polls
