The first pride was a riot. And we don't mean that to scare you. Because it is a fact. That's what makes it true. Walls should not be built They end up falling down Connection makes us human Love makes us sound. Love is love We can't love with walls Walls always fall Love stands strong. POC and LGBT shout for justice in the streets Go on crying in our sleep Love is our shoe lace It connects us so deep. Love is love We can't love with walls Walls always fall Love stands strong. We fear what our family might think Go off crying in the streets Will they still love us Or will they cut our link.

Introduction Post
Hello, my name is CJ Nightingale, and this is my blog dedicated to my OCs, their story, and the development of said story!! I'm making this blog for the sake of having a designated place to talk about my OCs, and so that I have some people to hold me accountable for actually making story progress, since I've been struggling a bit to actually sit down and make progress on getting the comic going. I think having a blog about it will help me stay motivated. Hopefully. Lol
A little bit of story related information:
This story has over 36 very important characters, not including antagonists and "true" side characters. This story takes place over the course of about 7 or 8 years, in 5 acts, taking the characters from middle school into early college. It's based in what I believe would be described as an "urban fantasy" setting, which looks similar to our world but is quite different. The story is meant to be mostly lighthearted, but there will be very intense moments and emotional damage (and a little blood sometimes too, as there will be fantasy violence).
I will make proper posts describing things in more detail as I go, but for the time being here's a brief introduction to each of the main characters:
Skylar: Acts 1-5, sarcastic, takes no BS, a bit of an enigma, Lukas' twin
Jesse: Acts 1-5, scatterbrained, just out here doing his best
Rin: Acts 1-5, mischievous, enjoys trying new things
Zander: Acts 1-5, smart, unbothered, designated "responsible dude"
Tabitha: Acts 1-5, bubbly, arguably too much faith in humanity
Lukas: Acts 1-5, looks more chill than he actually is, emotionally intelligent (most of the time), Skylar's twin
Lydia: Acts 1-5, too smart for her own good, very good with power tools
Marcus: Acts 1-5, quiet, listens a lot and knows more than he should, arguably drinks too much caffeine
Jules: Acts 2-5, highly approachable and talkative, likes poofy dresses
Dillon: Acts 2-5, skeptical of people, likes roller derby, hates group projects
Takuma: Acts 2-5, Ambitious, sarcastic, has doodled on every piece of clothing they own
Mariah Mae: (Kind of a side character) Acts 2-5, wildly peppy, a bit of a nerd, highly authentic person
Rea: Acts 2-5, perpetually has her head in the clouds, bewildered by humans
Dani: Acts 2-5, highly intuitive, knows all the things, likes music and their service dog
Booker: Acts 2-5, tends to accidentally run his mouth, likes basketball, bass guitar, and his friends
Ollie: Acts (1) 3-5, a little bit reactive, closed off, terrifyingly good at sleight of hand and at lying (do not play poker with him)
Meklit: Acts (1) 3-5, levelheaded, blunt, likes people and dislikes shoes
Gavin: Acts 3-5, both lawyer smart and a bit naïve, cellist, keeps putting himself in situations by accident
Goldie: Acts (1) 3-5, a bit shy, puts a lot of pressure on himself but looks really really chill at all times, chronic doodler
Blake: Acts 1-5, very antsy, very tired, very full of nervous energy, makes some poor decisions
Zaahira: Acts 4-5, genuinely nice person, cares about people, prefers plants
Wulf: Acts (3???) 4-5, impulsive, giggly, just happy to be here, on the run from the government
Akachi: Acts (1) 3-5, extremely ambitious, aesthetically inclined, color coordinated at all times
Selene: Acts 4-5, high tolerance for shenanigans, very bubbly, just out here having a good time
Sakura: Acts 4-5, detail oriented, loves stickers, can borderline read minds/hj
Remi: Acts 4-5 (probably??? gonna have to figure that out a bit more), very smart, very sarcastic, very giggly, very happy to be here
Leah: Acts 1-5, insomniac, a bit pretentious, makes some poor decisions
Sylvi: Acts (1) 3-5, borderline annoying theatre kid in the best way possible, very good singer
Karim: (Arguably a side character) Acts 4-5 (maybe idk), arguably too much faith in humanity, enjoys puns
Jono: Acts (3) 5, loves music, loses his train of thought frequently, looks more nervous than he is
Ivanna: Acts (3) 5, tough, good at water polo, believes in doing the right thing
Sovanna: Acts (3) 4-5, super chill, loves stickers, loves travelling, detail oriented
Ash: Act 5, under a ton of pressure, a bit reactive, out here trying his best
Coral: Act 5, can be hard to talk to, big listener, takes herself very seriously
Sib: (arguably a side character) Act 5, way too much energy at all times, good sense of humor, Ari's twin
Ari: (arguably a side character) Act 5, tired, quiet, talks more to animals than he does people
So that's a brief introduction to the non-antagonist characters, I'll make actual introduction posts for them later, but also if y'all want to ask questions about any of them before I get to that lmk!! Also feel free to ask questions about anything related to this story, I'd be happy to talk about it, and it might motivate me to help get stuff done.
If you found this blog just randomly and not from my fanart page, you can find that at @cj-the-random-artist , and you can find my website which has more art of my OCs at the link down here:
If / when I start uploading this story as a comic, I'll update this post with that information as well. That's all for this long introductory post, and I hope y'all enjoy this long winded thing and enjoy this little blog here!! Have good day lovelies :D

James Winkfield (April 12, 1882 - March 23, 1974) Jimmy Winkfield, born on April 12, 1882, was a professional jockey and horse trainer who became famous in the early twentieth century. The youngest of seventeen children was born in Chilesburg, Kentucky. He and his family moved to Cincinnati in 1894.
On August 10, 1898, he rode his first race. Atop Jockey Joe at Chicago’s Hawthorne Racetrack, he raced his horse out of the gate and rode across the path of the three inside horses, to get to the rail. This aggressive behavior did not go over well with racetrack officials, and he earned a one-year suspension. He learned from his mistake and on September 18, 1899, won his first race. Six months later, he rode for the first time in the Kentucky Derby.
In 1901, he captured his first Kentucky Derby title astride a horse named Eminence. He went on to win 161 races that year, including key victories in the Latonia Derby on Hernando and in the Tennessee Derby, where he rode Royal Victor. He returned to the Kentucky Derby in 1902 and won, this time riding Alan-a-Dale.
In 1903, he narrowly missed winning a third consecutive Derby. Riding a thoroughbred named Early, the odds-on favorite, he took a 1 1/2-length lead, but his mount slowed in the stretch and lost by three-quarters of a length.
He accepted an offer to race in Russia, where he rose to fame once again. He won the Emperor’s Purse, the Moscow Derby twice and the Russian Derby three times. In Germany, he won the Grand Prix de Baden. In Poland, he won the Poland Derby twice, and in France, he won the Prix du President de la Republique.
When the Communist Party came to power in Russia in 1919, horse racing was outlawed. He, by then a trainer, led 260 horses, fellow trainers, and owners overland to Poland during the winter of 1920. The group survived by eating some of their horses on the way.
He married Alexandra, a Russian baroness who died in 1921 and they bore a son. He married Lydia de Minkiwitz, who died in 1958, and the couple had two children.
On August 9, 2004, he was inducted into the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame. #africanhistory365 #africanexcellence

Jamie Scott is the son of Nathan and Haley Scott and older brother of Lydia. He was born on their graduation day at about the same time as his cousin, being the half-sister of his uncle — Lucas Scott, Lily Roe Scott. He was named after his godfather and uncle, Lucas Scott, while Brooke Davis takes the role of his godmother. All of Nathan and Haley's friends are close to Jamie and he sees them all as aunts and uncles. Jamie has a great adoration of his father and aspired to be like him, which was something that often inspired Nathan to do his best.
During her senior year at Tree Hill High School, Haley James Scott became pregnant. Although at first anxious with having a child at such a young age, both Haley and Nathan Scott grew fond of the idea and excited for the birth of their child. During her pregnancy, Haley began having serious pains in her stomach which forced her to collapse. As she was rushed to the hospital, the doctor assured her that everything was all right with her child and confirmed her child would be a boy, that the will name: James Lucas Scott. This news pushed Nathan to win the High School State Championship. Trying to get the best start to her child's life, Haley played Jamie classical music whilst pregnant, but unknown to her, Nathan played rap music to his child when she fell asleep, possibly relating to Jamie's love of hip-hop and rap music in his childhood.
On the day of Nathan and Haley's graduation, June 13th, Haley went into labor during her valedictorian speech. She was forced to stop her speech halfway through and was rushed into Tree Hill Hospital. At the hospital, Haley gave birth to James Lucas Scott, named after his mother's maiden name and his uncle's first name. After taking Jamie home, he was settled into a cot with his favorite cuddly giraffe and a bear wearing a Raven's jersey. His parents soon found out that Jamie would only settle for rap music, much to Nathan's happiness. Haley and Nathan also invited Brooke Davis and Lucas Scott to be his godparents, which they happily accepted. With this in mind, Lucas accepted a coaching assistant position for Nathan's college basketball team so he can be to Jamie what his Uncle Keith was to him, which Haley was more than pleased about.
During their college years, Jamie was raised by his parents and uncle while they went to college. He was present when his father won his national basketball championship. His first word was ball after he was prompted by Nathan to say the word ball while Haley prompted him to say the word guitar. Jamie loves basketball, has loved it for years. While Jamie loved his father and looked up to him, he tended to be a mama’s boy after his father had his accident.
Jamie loved basketball but after Nathan’s accident he didn’t want Jamie playing basketball, often finding himself scared of his father after he gets drunk and starts breaking his trophies and Jamie finds refuge in his mom’s arms. After Nathan gets his life back together, following him not having been there for his soap box derby, he starts showing his son how to not be afraid. And they start playing basketball together again. For a while, Jamie was under the care of a nanny by the name of Carrie, who he’d grown close to. She pretends he is her son and he begins to see her as his mom. Carrie was fired because of this bond. Jamie got mad at his mom for this and told her he hates her and that he wished Carrie was his real mom. Jamie got over his feelings for Carrie.
During this time frame, his mom caught his father in the shower with Carrie and she kicked Carrie out and was mad at Nathan, and Jamie had been outside by the pool unattended and he fell into the pool, and nearly drowned. Nathan and Haley looked out the window to see their four year old son lying face down in the pool. Nathan rushes to his aid, jumping into the pool, and pulling his son out of the pool. Haley holds Jamie in her arms after he’s pulled out and breathing again, she tells Nathan she wants a divorce, angry at what all has happened between them over the past six months. Their separation upsets him and he’s frequently asking Haley when daddy is coming home. During Lucas and Lindsey’s party all Jamie wanted to do is play guitar hero with his family and was upset when they don’t so instead he gets Skills (who Jamie was very close to - considering him an Uncle) to play with him. Skills always tries to make Jamie feel like one of the boys, Haley becomes nervous over the roughhousing and reminds Skills that Jamie is just a little boy, to which Skills replies that he’s never lost sight of how little he is.
Jamie was kidnapped by Carrie on Lucas’ wedding day, after he asks Skills to go to the bathroom and Carrie takes him to a motel so she can dye his hair and take him away with her. But Dan saw her take his grandson and followed them to the motel. When Carrie left the motel — to buy hair dye she’d forgotten to get before grabbing him — Dan broke into her hotel room and saved Jamie, returning him home. Jamie tells his parents that Grandpa Dan saved him and brought him home. After falling into the pool and nearly drowning Jamie has developed a fear of the pool and doesn’t go in the pool anymore. With his parents’ help he does get back in the water, but that underlying fear never left.
Jamie befriends one of his mom’s high school students Quentin Fields, otherwise known as Q, and they become best friends until he is shot and killed. His parents are the ones who break the news of his death. He is upset but wants to go to the funeral, where he lays a red cape he made for Quentin on his coffin. Jamie becomes friends with Quentin’s younger brother who is the same age as Jamie, Andre and they both help each other grieve for Q.
Haley gets a call one day from a nurse at Tree Hill Hospital informing her that Dan is dying. Knowing Jamie didn’t get a chance to say goodbye to his grandfather, she takes him to see Dan. Haley didn’t know that it was Carrie calling, who had kidnapped Dan and was using him to lure Jamie.
Once at the hospital, Haley tells Jamie to wait in the car and goes inside, Carrie then knocks her unconscious. Right after, Carrie goes out to the car and lures Jamie to come out, but Jamie screams and tries to ignore her. So she grabs a sledgehammer to smash the glass windows of the car. As she is smashing the window, Jamie gets out the other side of the car and runs into the cornfields to get away from Carrie. Haley wakes up and goes looking for Jamie and realizes where he is when she hears Carrie calling to him. Haley finds him first and makes sure he’s okay, and they take off to hide from Carrie before Nathan calls, which alerts Carrie to where they are. But before Carrie can get to them Deb knocks her out with a wine bottle. When Carrie regains consciousness she comes at Haley with an axe but Dan points a gun at her to stop, and ends up killing her.
Jamie seemed to be a cheery kid, given the circumstances that had been handed to him, and determined to change others’ lives, helping them to be the best versions of themselves — seeing great potential in everyone he meets.
When Jamie is 8, his maternal grandmother, Lydia James, passed away, leaving his mom heartbroken and depressed. She starts lashing out at her loved ones, including Jamie, so his aunt Quinn takes him out to take his mind off of things. Jamie gets braces and strongly dislikes them and wants them removed but Haley convinces him by wearing ugly fake teeth, getting him to agree to keep them on. After a school spelling bee, Jamie goes out with his friends and teacher Miss Lauren and was involved in an accident during a big thunderstorm. Miss Lauren’s car is tipped over to its side. Jamie’s seatbelt is stuck and Brooke saves Miss Lauren and Chuck before trying to free Jamie when the car is knocked off the bridge, the car that hits them drives away after into the river, the levee breaks almost drowning Brooke and Jamie before they are saved.
James is very fond of his little sister, Lydia — named after Grandma Lydia — and helps his parents take care of her, especially when Nathan is traveling for work. Before his sister was born, he gave his mom a baseball with a message to Lydia saying how he can’t wait to play catch with her.
Following his mom and Uncle Luke’s traditions, he made a prediction at the start of the school year when he was 9 that he would beat Nathan’s score record. Each year James adds a new prediction, keeping the tradition his mom and uncle had.
Jamie always admired his father, especially for his career and supported him throughout it and like most Scott's, Jamie had a natural talent for the sport. Like his mother, Jamie is intelligent and after completing a test at his school, St. James Day School, his teacher revealed that his test scores were through the roof and they should consider sending Jamie to the gifted and talented school. They asked Oppenheimer School for the Gifted if they were interested in him. But after visiting the school Jamie decided to remain at his current school with his friends.
Jamie is later seen as a grown up teenager playing basketball with the number 12 on his back, having his favorite number as his jersey number. Jamie quickly becomes the leading scorer on the varsity team — like Nathan was & like Lucas was as well. And like his mom, he worked in the tutoring center, helping other students get their grades up, and he also worked at Karen’s Cafe — which is owned by his mom and his Aunt Brooke — even though he didn’t really need to. The only thing he didn’t inherit from his mom is her musical talent, he got the athletic genes from his father, playing baseball during basketball’s offseason. Jamie keeps himself very busy, and while his parents worried it would affect his grades, he didn’t let it.
At the age of 14, James was diagnosed with PTSD, due to all the events tied with Carrie and his two times he’d almost drowned, as well as Panic Disorder and Generalized Anxiety Disorder. He was given SSRIs, antidepressants, and anxiolytics for all three. Haley and Nathan had worried when he was younger on how the events would affect him, but he hadn’t let them see that anything was wrong with him, that he had let that get to him. After this diagnosis, his parents got him Lucky, a dalmatian that someone had trained to handle anxiety and PTSD. Lucky also became his training partner during the offseason so he can stay in shape, seeing as how dalmatians are extremely active to begin with.
When James was 16, he was experiencing shortness of breath, fatigue after exercising for a long period of time, and chest pains. He hadn’t told his parents about what he was experiencing, he’d chalked it up to anxiety and stress. It wasn’t until he’d fainted outside of the house as he returned from a run, the other symptoms having been present when he walked up the driveway. When he fainted Lucky ran into the house and dragged Haley out to see her son passed out on the driveway. Haley called 9-1-1 and did as the dispatcher told her until paramedics arrived at their house. They get him to the hospital and get him stable and Nathan and Haley wait with Lydia for the doctors to come out. The nurse came out to bring them to James’ room to see him resting, asleep, with a heart monitor attached to him. When the doctor walked in he told them that James had hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and when the doctor went to explain what it was Nathan stopped him. Nathan said he knew what it was, afterall his brother and father both had been diagnosed with the heart condition.
When James woke up, his parents told him what the doctor told them his diagnosis was. Nathan explained what it meant for his basketball career, and that he could still play, but he had to be on his medication if he wanted to keep playing. And Jamie wanted to keep playing, so he added a beta blocker medication and an antihypertensive medication to the medications he was already taking. While the medications slowed him down, he still gave it his all, never once stopping taking his medication in favor of the sport.
He continued to wow everyone with his determination for the sport, but James knew he wouldn’t be able to play basketball professionally, so he seeked advice from the one person that had been in his shoes before, his godfather & uncle Lucas — he told him to find something that he loves, aside from basketball, and Jamie looks at his uncle over the FaceTime call, and he thought about what he wanted to do aside from basketball, he didn’t want to be an agent like his father and he wasn’t cut out to be a musician like his mom. He remembers his mom being a teacher, and he loves tutoring, so part of him thought he’d be a good teacher but after a creative writing assignment, he learned he actually was a decent writer. But he didn’t think he’d be that good at it.
James kept playing in high school, beating his father’s scoring title, and having his jersey number retired when he graduated high school. Jamie got offered a scholarship to Duke University for basketball and academics. Duke was where Nathan was going to go before they found out about his point shaving. James went to college there, originally under an undetermined major before taking a few creative writing classes his second semester of his freshman year and fell in love with it. His sophomore year he met up with his counselor and decided on a creative writing major. When he told his parents, his dad made the joke to Haley that maybe he really was Luke’s kid, but they have so many things in common, Jamie is just finding himself outside of basketball like Lucas had to. She also points out that like Lucas, he had his dreams ripped out from underneath him, just like Nathan did when he got into a bar fight and that he needs to find himself without them stepping in the way. They raised a good kid, and they can’t keep making choices for him, he’s an adult.
Jamie’s first novel was published while he was still in college, it was a fiction novel based on his experience as a child with Carrie. He changed the names of the characters and took a different turn to it, and started using his full name for his professional career — James Lucas Scott — and his career took off. He was able to do a semester of his junior year coursework online while he went on a national book tour and when he came back for basketball season he settled into the routine of being a normal college student. During his senior year, he released a second book, a sequel to the first about the kid’s life as a teen and young adult — again changing details in the book from his own experiences — and when asked where the inspiration came from he lied about it, said it was just a story he’d been curious about, and threw in the statistics that most kidnappings are done by someone the kid knows and not a stranger, and that no matter how old the child was it still affects them growing up. He put off doing a book tour for the second one until after he graduated from college, wanting to finish his degree first.
Jamie’s parents were worried about him using his personal life to write about but it was Lucas who pointed out he’d done the same thing, and was a best-selling author for it, and that the difference between the two is that Jamie changed the names and the facts in the book so it couldn’t be connected back to him. And that given all that he’s been through, maybe it’s a good way for him to manage things, it’s like him writing a journal about how he feels.
Jamie has two best selling books by the time he’s 21, whereas Luke only had the one, and Luke — who is a best selling author of multiple books — has spoken out about how proud he is of his nephew making a career for himself, how he seems to surpass his entire family, first by breaking the scoring record for his high school basketball team, by getting two scholarships to his father’s dream college, and now surpassing his uncle’s literary career when his uncle was his age.
Jamie doesn’t live in Tree Hill as an adult, he comes home to visit on holidays (usually) and whenever he’s missing his parents, and his sister Lydia.

The Ledge #573: Even More Miscellany
This week's episode is another show consisting of material I've been a bit obsessed with around the Hudson compound. The first half is primarily new or new-ish material. The tribute to Justine Covault continues with tracks off the brand new Justine and the Unclean album, The Signal Light, along with new tunes by Lydi Loveless, Kate Redgate, Tommy Stinson's Cowboys in the Campfire, and a great Alice Cooper cover by veteran rockers Zero Boys.
The second half of the show is dominated by older records that I've recently picked up. Many were originally owned by my buddy Phil who had his semi-annual record sale last weekend. But I also have included a couple of reissues of records that I've been trying to acquire for years. The Lyres On Fyre, for example, was the very first truly independant record I've ever owned, and I desperately needed a copy to replace the one I lost decades ago. And then there's Double Nickels On the Dime, the classic double album by Minutemen. Going for big bucks on the used market, SST finally pressed some more copies, and I just could not resist!
Of course, there's also this week's installment in the "52 Weeks of Teenage Kicks" series. Sahara Hotnights is a fantastic all-female rock band from Sweden who put out some great albums in the late 90s and early 00s. The expanded version of their second album, Jennie Bomb, included the hot version that kickstarts this week's episode.
And like always, I must again plead with y'all for more versions of "Teenage Kicks". If you are a musician, or have any contact with artists that could record their own take on the classic, please contact me!

Lydia Sherman, The Derby Poisoner
Tumblr media
Lydia Sherman, also known as the Derby Poisoner, was an American serial killer. She is thought to have been responsible for 12 murders between 1863 and 1877.
Lydia Danbury was an orphan raised by her uncle, she worked as a tailor as a teenager and met her first husband, Edward Struck when she was 17. She became Lydia Struck. The couple moved to New York. After her husband became depressed after losing his job, Lydia Struck poisoned him with arsenic in 1864. Six weeks later she poisoned three of her young children in the same way and later poisoned two more in 1865. Their deaths were listed as typhoid fever.
Lydia Struck met her second husband, a widower named Dennis Hurlburt, in 1868. After Hulburt's health declined she poisoned him. In 1870 Lydia met her final husband Horatio Sherman, it was then that she changed her name to Lydia Sherman. Horatio Sherman was poisoned in May 1871.
Lydia Sherman was convicted of second-degree murder in 1872 and was incarcerated. Five years into her sentence, Lydia faked illness and escaped. She got a job as a housekeeper to a rich widower but was caught and reimprisoned. Lydia eventually died from cancer on 16th May 1878, while serving time in prison.

Lyndallia N. Pendragon
(aka. Lyndallia Newart Pendragon, and for short: Lydia Pendragon)
My new TOH/The Owl House OC!!✨
Tumblr media
Made the reference for what she looks like on Picrew, definitely support the creator and try out the Picrew, right here!
(It may look a bit different due to the fact, I edited mine a bit to look the way I wanted it)
I made a couple extra references while watching some TOH episodes:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(From left to right, that one is just for everyday wear, or an indoor outfit and the other one would be for the Flying Derby/ and/or Grudgby)
I wouldn’t mind at all answering any questions about her and may or may not start writing a couple backstory chapters, but it’s all based on how I’m feeling really (and motivation wise).

Trish Trash: Rollergirl of Mars The Collected Edition by Jessica Abel. Backgrounds and designs by Lydia Roberts, colors by Walter. SuperGenius, 2018. 9781545801666. 208pp. http://www.powells.com/book/-9781545801666?partnerid=34778&p_bt
Trish isn't quite old enough to join her local roller derby team, the Terror Novas, but that doesn't stop her from skipping school to try out anyway. Trish's skill at repairing technology gets her a gig as a skategirl, which isn't exactly a place on the team but she's pretty happy with it. But her aunt and uncle can't believe she signed an intern contract -- they need her help on their moisture farm. Marq can't believe she signed away her rights, either -- he's a politically active vlogger with a progressive agenda (which will bring him unwanted attention from the corporation / government that runs things).
As Trish tires of being treated as a slave, she helps a native Martian who is in need of water. Her kindness is repayed in two ways, with special skates for her and her teammates that allow them to practice in the dusty Martian landscape, and via the gift of a plant that helps harvest water. When Trish and her family try to use and spread the gifts, Marq tries to push an agenda of cooperation with the natives. But the authorities want to keep doing things the way they've always been done, which includes making the humans fear the Martians.
I read the first volume of this story years ago, and somehow missed both that the series had finished and that this omnibus edition had been published. This was the first book I checked out after I was able to browse the Seattle Public Library's shelves again in person this summer! And I like it as much as Abel's previous graphic novels, Out on The Wire (about radio storytelling on your favorite NPR shows) and La Perdida (about an American woman living in Mexico City).

Said I was going to post some headcanons and since its mother's day I thought of sharing some I have for Peter and his mom. Not to neglect the moms of Egon, Winston, Ray and Janine by the way. There's just something about Peter's mother that's left me intrigued since The Thing in Mrs. Faversham's Attic. (I know some fans have christened her Margaret and some fanfics I've read gave her something different, but I've been calling Lydia ever since I saw the episode.)
- Peter would always try to make her a mother's day breakfast and surprise her, but he'd make such a loud mess in the kitchen she'd wake up. However, she'd pretend she was sleeping when he'd come with her meal on a tray.
- She always tried her best to make Christmas pleasant for Peter when his father was away. She'd make cookies, perform Christmas carols on the piano and play in the snow with her son. Peter appreciated her for trying and it helped a little. After she passed away when he was still a child and he was completely alone, his feelings for the holiday grew worse.
- Peter and his mom would watch roller derby together. She wasn't into sports, but she thought it was interesting.
- She chose her son's name. She'd always liked the name Peter and when she first held her baby she thought the name fit him best.

The Jockey Headcanons
i couldn’t resist
Everyone calls her Presley in fanfics so I guess her name is Presley!
She died in the middle of a derby, so she not only got trampled by her own horse, but several other horses! While people watched.
Her femurs and rib cage were crushed almost instantly. Her internal organs ruptured. Her skin ripped because of the sharpness of the the hooves and exposed her intestines.
She remembers the dirt and dust in her mouth most of all because it choked her, keeping her from screaming.
She came from a very pristine family, which would make sense because what normal teenager is a jockey?
Because of this, she always feels the need to prove herself.
She pushed herself way past her limits because jockeying is a male-dominated sport and she was a young girl. So she had to work extra hard to be seen at their level. This trait lingers even after death.
Major people-pleaser
Deathly afraid of horses now
Which she’s embarrassed about because who’s afraid of horses??
Fidgets with her crop as a nervous tick
She has a love-hate relationship with her crop
Doesn’t like taking her helmet off because it makes her feel safe, even though she’s dead
Usually has blood dripping from her mouth because her lungs were badly damaged by the horses, causing hemoptysis
Accidentally spits blood onto people’s faces when she talks because of this
Always freaks out when this happens and sputters out apologies, which then makes her spit even more blood
She’ll give someone her glove to wipe their face
The glove is covered in dirt and even more blood, but at least it’s dried
Thinks Lydia is Really Cool for no real reason. She’s just lonely and wants friends her age
Southern Belle even though Connecticut is most definitely not in the south
But she was raised to be super polite and well-mannered or else she’d get the switch
Her horse had been very ill-tempered but she thought she could “change him”
She was wrong
