remus x fem reader au where voldy never existed. 450 words Some mentions of sex. please be kind <3
You’d been really looking forward to seeing yours and remus’ friends. You wore this cute new summer dress you’d got that made your boyfriends eyes practically pop out of his head.
As you touched up your makeup in the mirror, you felt the arms of the werewolf wrap around your stomach as he pressed a kiss to your temple. “You look incredible” he told you in a rough tone as your cheeks heated slightly.
You leaned back against his tall frame and smiled at him in the mirror. “Not looking too bad yourself there Lupin” you replied, your normally playful tone more soft and affectionate.
“You know we could always just stay in tonight” he said with a cheeky wink. You playful hit one of the arms he’d snaked around your waist and shook your head disapprovingly. “Now now Remus, we haven’t celebrated my promotion yet and tonight is a good chance for you to meet my favourite coworkers” you laugh. He laughed with you but nodded in agreement. “Then let’s get you in your shoes” he said softly. He kneeled down and in a very prince and Cinderella fashion, he placed your feet gently into a pair of your favourite heels and fastened the strap for you. He stood back up, pecking your lips softly before he the door so you could both leave.
After a short drive you arrived at the restaurant, greeted by your favourite co worker, Esther. “ hey y/n I love your dress! It’s so cute” she gushed, admiring it. Este was the only person to have met Remus previously due to how many times you hung out with her. She greeted remus before turning back to you “I’m sorry in advance” she said with a frown, her brows furrowing together.
You tilted your head with confusion “Este? What’s up?” The black haired woman sighed and gestured to the table, before leading you both in that direction.
Your stomach turned and you shivered as your eyes landed on your ex. Your dirtbag ex. You shouldn’t be that surprised, he worked closely with the publishing agency you worked for but previously they’d been an understanding that you two wouldn’t be made to interact with false civility. In fact you’d made it clear that if you never saw him again, it would be still too soon.
Nevertheless this was a work event and so you plastered on a fake smile and gripped Remus’ hand as you sat at the table, hoping the man that last broke your heart didn’t take notice that you were seated in spitting distance from him. If only you were that lucky.
Your ex, sat back with a cocky grin, eyed you with mischief and a curious smirk “hey y/n, whose the new guy?” He asked, gesturing his head to Remus.
Now Remus could be rather protective of you but he was also one of the most calm people you’d ever met. “I’m Remus” he said, standing and offering the guy his hand which he accepted. You could tell with the way your exes smiled tightened that the wolf had gripped his hand harder than necessary, asserting his dominance and you found it hard to fight the smile tugging at your lips.
Remus sat back down and you notice your ex flex his hand. The werewolf put his arm around the back of your chair and kissed your cheek. Remus was very much informed of the drama that had ended your last relationship and he’d been the one to pick up the broken pieces, something you were very grateful for.
He leaned closer to you with an innocent smile on his face and whispered sweet nothings into your ear making you giggle and blush, much to the disapproving looks of your ex boyfriend.
Remus insisted on doing everything for you that night. His doting on you and his undivided attention distracted you from the other man sitting near by. He made you feel at ease. And when he wasn’t pouring your wine for you or helping you in or out of your chair, he was cracking jokes with your coworkers, making an excellent impression on everyone including your boss. As the evening came to a close, Remus tapped his spoon on his glass and stood, getting everyone’s attention. He looked over to you and smiled at you fondly before delivering his speech.
“I’ve known y/n since school. She’s one of the most talented writers and editors I’ve ever met. Beyond that she’s compassionate and goes out of her way to help others. I’m so very proud of you y/n and it’s a privilege to be here, by your side, celebrating one of the many accomplishments you’re going to make in your life. I love you. To y/n” he said, finishing his speech. Everyone toasted to you as your boyfriend sat next to you, kissing you softly on the lips before you both sipped your drinks.
Your heart was full of love for Remus and for your coworkers who’d celebrated you and made you feel like one of the most luckiest women on earth. And you definitely felt like one of the smartest in this moment. But as you all chatted on about different things, you realised the smartest decision you’d ever made was to love Remus Lupin and it was a decision you knew you would make over and over.

everything after (r.l.)
Tumblr media
Pairing: remus x fem!reader
Summary: Everyone knows you and Remus are in love with each other, but neither of you are willing to believe that, and hijinks ensue. On one fateful night, his curse threatens to rip you from him, and you're both forced to confront your feelings for each other.
Word Count: 4.7k
Warnings: crack, angst, fluff, hurt/comfort, descriptions of injuries, best friends to lovers, a LOT of sirius, barely any james/peter
a/n: Someone pointed out my url could be confused for a hp reference, so I felt compelled to write this fic solely so people who thought that wouldn't be disappointed to find zero hp works, and this somehow ended up being the longest thing I've ever written. I've literally never written for the marauders or any other character in the franchise before, so I'm sorry for any inaccuracies!
Extras: mood board
Also, JKR sucks.
“You’re an absolute arse, Sirius Black!” You yelled after the dark-haired boy who was quickly disappearing from your sight, his cackles bouncing off of the castle walls.
You glared at the space he had occupied, pushing back the strands of hair that had fallen in your face in your pursuit of the marauder.
You felt Remus’ arm curl around you in comfort, a pitying smile gracing his face. “Sorry, love, promise I’ll help you get him back.”
“I don’t want to get him back. I want to kill him.”
“We’ve all wanted that at some point.” Remus gave your shoulder a squeeze as he guided you back to the Gryffindor common room, unknowingly sending shivers through your entire body. Even when you were pissed at Sirius, Remus was still able to make you melt with a simple touch.
He glanced down at you, chuckling at how pink your cheeks were. “Y/N, you’ve really got to calm down. You’ve literally gone red in the face,” he said, pinching your cheeks. You swatted his hands away, trying to play it off as annoyance.
Remus was a little concerned you were going to go through with your threat as you were still fuming by the time the two of you reached your bedroom door. He gently grabbed your arms, forcing you to meet his amber eyes. “Y/N, please promise me you won’t get yourself in trouble because of Padfoot’s idiocy.”
You snorted, “There’s no need to look out for me, Rem. I wouldn’t stoop to his level. And if I did, I wouldn’t get caught.” You held his gaze for a moment longer until he released you with a sigh. He’d probably end up helping you with whatever you had planned anyway, regardless of the consequences. Maybe it was because you were so persuasive, or maybe he just wanted an excuse to spend more time with you.
He swung your door open, cringing at the sight before him. You knelt down to greet Winnie, patting him on the head in an effort to soothe his whimpers. His tail was between his legs, and he kept butting his head against you as a cry for help.
You scowled, “Look at the state of him, Rem. Poor Winnie, he’s miserable.”
The tall boy sat cross-legged next to you, picking up the small dog and nuzzling him against his face. Your heart felt like it was bursting at how adorable they looked, and it was almost enough for you to forgive Sirius entirely. Almost.
“Aw, Y/N,” Remus beamed at you, “he’s so cute, though. Can’t you let this one go?”
“No, I absolutely cannot let this one go. Yes, he’s cute, but he’s a dog, Remus. Winnie clearly prefers being an owl.”
“Thought you liked dogs,” Remus teased, “except Padfoot now, I s’pose.”
“You just talking about yourself, then, Moony?”
Remus cocked his head to the side, a small smile making its way onto his face. “Are you saying you like me?”
A mangled laugh tumbled out of your mouth, surprising the both of you. Your eyes widened as you desperately tried to recover from your blunder. “No! Don’t be daft, Rem. I hate the whole lot of you. You, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs. You’re all terrible, and—and I don’t know what the bloody hell I’m on about—just help me with Winnie!”
Remus had a strange look on his face, and you were petrified that he’d finally caught on to your true feelings. But with a shrug, Remus put Winnie down and adopted an indifferent expression. He kept his eyes trained on the pup. “Alright, Winnie, let’s get your feathers back, yeah?”
~
Several hours later, Winnie was happily flying around your room once more, and Remus had left, declaring he needed to do some studying in the library. Instead of exiting the common room, though, he took the steps up to the boys’ dormitories. He needed time and space to think over the events that had unfolded. Alas, the universe had other plans.
“Moony! Where’ve you been?” Sirius asked, looking up from the charm he was working on.
Remus shot the boy an accusatory glare as he flopped onto his bed, “I’ve been busy cleaning up the mess you made. Thanks a lot for that, mate.”
“Oh, please, you should be thanking me. You got to spend time with Y/N, didn’t you?” The dark-haired boy chucked his wand aside, scooting to the side of his bed closest to Remus’. An impish grin took over his face. “How’d it go? Any progress?”
Remus glared at his friend. He knew Sirius had the best intentions, but he was the worst wingman in the world. Remus had never intended on telling him—or anyone, really—about his feelings for you.
He wasn’t anything like James who loudly announced his love for Lily at every opportunity, or Sirius who shamelessly flirted with every sentient being in the room. Still, everyone pieced together his crush on you pretty quickly. Remus was typically level-headed and good at reading others, but he seemed to lose all sense when it came to you.
~
In fourth year, he’d noticed you were getting close with a Ravenclaw boy that you shared Potions class with. He’d gotten increasingly irritated at the way the boy always seemed to stop to talk to you in the hallways. Lily had asked you if you were interested, and even though you’d shrugged it off, Remus couldn’t get his mind off of it. It’d gotten to the point where Remus asked Sirius to cover for him one day, as he planned to skip class.
Sirius had gasped in mock horror, “Wait, you’re telling me you want to skip History of Magic? Who are you and what have you done with Moony?”
“Sirius, please! I don’t have time for this, will you please just tell the professor I’m sick if he notices I’m not there?”
“Well, you’re clearly not, so where are you really going? Ooh, can I go with you?”
Remus groaned, “No! It’s a personal thing.”
Sirius smirked as the realization dawned on him. “You mean a Y/N thing? You’re going to go spy on her and that Ravenclaw boy in the astronomy tower, aren’t you?” Remus didn’t respond, but that was confirmation enough for Sirius. “Alright, I’ve got you, mate. I’m telling you, though, you’d better make a move soon. I’d never go for her, obviously, but Y/N has more eyes on her than you think.”
That really didn’t make Remus feel any better.
~
While Remus did find the two of you huddled close at the astronomy tower, he also clearly heard you telling the other boy you weren’t interested. That was two years ago. Since then, Remus hadn’t worried about anyone else approaching you. Mostly because you seemed uninterested in dating anyone at all, unfortunately for him.
Remus slung his arm over his face. “No, Sirius, no progress. There will never be any progress. Because I’m never going to make a move. Because she doesn’t feel that way about me.”
Sirius slapped his forehead; he couldn’t understand how his best friend could be so stupid sometimes. How could Remus miss the way you practically had hearts in your eyes every time you looked at him? How you hung on every word he said, like he was sharing an intimate secret and not just reciting a simple textbook passage? Sirius would find it endearing if it wasn’t so sickening. He wasn’t the only one who was aware of your mutual pining—the whole bloody castle knew—but he was the one most frequently burdened with your moping.
~
“Padfoot, did you see that? Why did he linger like that?” You had asked with wide eyes, clutching onto Sirius’ arm.
He sighed, “I don’t know, doll, probably because he’s cold.”
You shoved his shoulder, causing him to nearly fall off his seat. You ignored his complaining and went back to watching Remus as he made his way out of the Great Hall with the other newly-appointed fifth year prefects. “He hugged me longer than usual, I’m sure of it. I could’ve sworn he sniffed my hair too.”
Sirius leaned in and gave your head a loud sniff. “Huh, it does smell nice. What is that, vanilla?” He grabbed a fistful of hair. “Did you switch conditioners because it kind of feels softer too—”
“Sirius, focus!” You hissed, slapping his hand away.
“Bloody hell, what do you want me to say, Y/N? You never believe me anyway when I tell you he’s in love with you too.”
“That’s because it’s speculation. I’m asking for your opinion on my objective observations.” You rolled your eyes like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
Sirius gave your hand a pat. “Look, all I know is he never bothers to hug anyone else goodbye when he leaves the room. Is that a good enough observation for you, doll?”
You smiled a little at the thought. He was right—Remus only ever hugged you. Still, it wasn’t enough justification for you to actually tell him how you felt.
You turned back to Sirius, who had already resumed stuffing Sunday roast in his face. “Are you ever going to stop calling me that? Makes me feel like one of your hook ups.”
“What? ‘Doll’? I never call anyone else that.”
“I guess, but I think it makes Remus uncomfortable.”
“Does it make you uncomfortable?”
“No.”
“Then the nickname stays,” he said, mouth full of meat.
You threw a napkin at him in disgust. “You’re no help at all, Pads.”
“Then quit asking for help, doll.” He wiped his face and slung an arm around you, leaning in closer. “Now, about that conditioner—”
“Ugh!”
~
Sirius shook the memory away. It was just one of many times you’d gone to him for help with Remus. You were both so helpless, it drove him mad. Even so, he tried his best to nudge you towards each other whenever he could.
He studied Remus’ defeated figure splayed out on the bed. “So, what’re you going to do now, then?”
Remus removed his arm from his face, revealing the ever-present frown he had when talking about his chances with you. “What I’ve always done. Sit back and make sure she’s happy.”
~
True to his word, Remus continued to treat you like he always had, and you did the same. That was, until the night everything changed.
During full moons, you typically stayed away and trusted the rest of the marauders to look out for Remus. You’d only join them at the Shrieking Shack after everything had settled, and you were on healing duty in case anyone was hurt. Lily was the only one completely in the dark about Remus’ condition; it was the one thing James kept from her to ensure her safety. When you first found out, Remus had begged you to stay away, but you insisted they needed the help. He finally conceded when you promised not to become an Animagus and remain at the castle until you were sure he’d turned back.
On this particular night, you mistimed your entrance by a few seconds. You had dozed off while studying for the next day’s Charms exam, and woke up to complete darkness. Your torch had blown out, and the only light came from the moon beams filtering through the window by your desk. In your sleepy haze, you’d neglected to check for the marauders’ signal, instead fearing that you were already too late to mend any serious injuries.
You groggily threw a robe over your clothes, reignited your torch, and crept out of your room without alerting any of your roommates. You scurried along the path you’d memorized like the back of your hand, every step pushing you further into consciousness. You picked up your pace as you grew increasingly worried for your friends, expertly maneuvering around the Whomping Willow.
When you finally burst into the Shack, you realized you had made a grave mistake. All four pairs of animal eyes were locked on you, three of them wide with terror. The remaining pair belonged to the hulking werewolf sneering at you, and time seemed to slow as several things dawned on you.
One, this was the first time you’d seen Remus like this.
Two, this was the first time you were completely terrified of him.
And three, in your haste, you’d forgotten your wand.
Before anyone could react, he lunged at you.
You let out an ear-piercing scream as the enormous beast knocked you on your back, its foul breath stinging your nose as it snarled at your face just inches below it. You normally prided yourself in thinking on your feet, but the weight of this creature on you had you paralyzed with fear. You squeezed your eyes shut, unable to do anything but pray that it would be over quickly.
You screamed again as you felt a sharp pain on your leg, and suddenly the wolf was being hauled off of you.
You took a few ragged breaths before building up the courage to open your eyes. First, you saw Remus collapsing onto the floor, Peter and James rushing to his side. Then, you registered Sirius hurtling towards you.
“Christ, doll, are you alright? What the hell are you doing here?” He frantically helped you into a sitting position, moving you against a wall. His eyes were wide with panic as they landed on your leg. “Holy fucking shit, Y/N.”
Your eyes were glazed over, looking past Sirius’ shoulder over at Remus, who was beginning to get up. You felt a dull pain in your head where it connected with the floor when you were tackled. “I think I might be a little concussed, Pads,” you mumbled.
Sirius was saying something you weren’t listening to, your eyes locked on Remus. He seemed a little dazed, but otherwise unharmed. As he rose to his feet, he finally became aware of your presence. His face twisted in confusion for a millisecond before switching to horror as he realized what must’ve happened.
You didn’t break eye contact as you watched him crumple to his knees next to you.
You shot him a lopsided grin. “Hey, Remmy. You okay?”
He looked down at himself, feeling for the pain he usually felt when transforming. Oddly, he felt none. He looked back at you incredulously. “Am I okay? Y/N, what’re you doing here? Look at you, I—I hurt you, oh God, your leg—”
“M’ leg?” You glanced down, seeing the deep lacerations on your thigh for the first time. Blood was streaming steadily out of the wound. You looked back at Remus blankly. “Oh. I’m bleeding, Moony.”
“Yeah, sweetheart, you’re bleeding real bad.” Remus gulped, feeling the lump in his throat growing tenfold as he stared at the blood pool quickly forming beneath you.
Remus felt a hand on his shoulder. “She might have a concussion too, mate,” Sirius spoke softly, “I think we need to get her out of here. Fast.”
You squinted at the two boys. “That why I’m feeling all fuzzy?”
Remus began reaching for you, but abruptly stopped himself. You weren’t too out of it just yet, and noticed his hesitation. You reached for his hand, offering a smile as you squeezed it. “S’alright, Rem. You won’t hurt me.”
That was all the reassurance he needed. Remus pushed his guilt and discomfort aside and cupped your face in his hands, eyes burning with worry and determination. “Alright, I’m going to pick you up, and it might hurt a lot, but it’ll be worse if you struggle, okay, love? I’m so sorry.”
You nodded in response, and his arms quickly made their way around you. You savored the sensation of being pressed against his chest, the shock keeping you from feeling much else.
Remus took a few deep breaths, steadying himself before hoisting you up. You let out a pained cry at the feeling of your leg being jostled, curling further into Remus. “Think the shock is wearing off now, Rem,” you uttered.
His heart clenched at the sight, and he fought to keep himself together. “I’m sorry, darling. I’m sorry,” he murmured into your hair. He could feel your heavy breathing on his neck, but what really concerned him was your blood, which he could still feel dripping onto him.
The other boys led the way back to the castle, Remus trying to move as fast as possible while inflicting minimal pain on you. As the long trek went on, you were beginning to feel increasingly drowsy, a weight tugging at your eyelids.
Remus’ voice heightened in panic when he saw the way your head was lolling to the side. “Hey, hey, no, stay awake, love. Don’t do that, Y/N. You’ve got to stay awake for me, okay, sweetheart?”
“‘M so sleepy, Rem. Wanna sleep,” you slurred, barely coherent as you slipped in and out of consciousness.
“I know, darling, I know. Just a little farther, please just—just hold on for a little while longer, alright?” he begged, pressing a kiss to your temple. There was so much blood, why was there so much blood?
Remus kept talking to you the whole way to the castle, and you fought to keep your eyes open like he was telling you to. But eventually, you gave in and Remus’ pleads fell on deaf ears as you went completely limp. Tears rolled down his cheeks as he desperately shook you, getting no response. Luckily, the Hospital Wing was in sight by then, and the boys broke into a run until they burst through the doors.
Madam Pomfrey jumped from her seat at the sudden commotion, rushing over to the group of boys.
“Please, help her!” Remus wailed, laying you onto the nearest bed.
As James hurriedly explained the situation to Madam Pomfrey, Sirius tugged the weeping Remus away from your side. “She’s going to be okay, Moony, I promise,” he assured Remus, despite his own tears.
As much as he wanted to believe that, no words could comfort Remus at the moment. There was no stopping the sobs that shook his body, and he found himself sliding to the ground, hand over his mouth as he watched your body being tended to.
Everything was a blur after that. He vaguely recalled Madam Pomfrey ordering him onto the bed next to you when she was done with you. He mindlessly complied as she mended the small scratches and bruises littering his own skin. Truthfully, he hadn’t even noticed them at all. His eyes were glued to you the entire time. He didn’t think he could look away even if he tried, not even when you’d been properly bandaged. Not when Madam Pomfrey asserted you’d make a full recovery. Not when she kicked the rest of the marauders out after ensuring they weren’t injured. No, he watched you until you awoke.
Surprisingly, it only took a couple of hours. He had still been sitting motionless on the edge of his bed when he saw you begin to stir. Immediately, he rushed to your side, eyes brimming with tears yet again as he heard you let out a low groan that was soon followed by your eyes blinking open. Remus nearly burst with joy.
You, on the other hand, were pretty confused. “Remus? What’s going on? Shit, my leg hurts like a bitch.”
He let out a strained chuckle, but shame soon replaced his short-lived relief. He shifted his gaze away from you. “You came a little early to the Shack. I was still
that thing. I attacked you. You have a mild concussion, and you lost a lot of blood. I’m so unbelievably sorry, Y/N.”
The memories returned to you, and you winced at the image of the werewolf leaping onto you. While you would probably need some time to recover physically and mentally, by the way he was avoiding your face, you knew this was going to be harder for Remus than it would ever be for you.
You grunted as you attempted to push yourself up, Remus’ hands immediately pushing you back down, his brows creased with worry.
“Woah, hey, stay down, love. You can’t get up yet.” His large hands were firmly anchoring your shoulders to the bed.
You put one of your hands on top of his, giving it a squeeze that made Remus’ breath hitch. “I just want to sit up, Rem. Help me?”
Your eyes had him in a chokehold. For the millionth time, he gave in to your request and eased you back against the wall. He complied once again when you tugged on his arm, settling down next to you.
You didn’t know if it was the adrenaline, side effects of Madam Pomfrey’s treatment, or your brush with death, but you scooted up against Remus and laid your head on his shoulder. You felt him tense underneath you, and you figured you’d probably react similarly had the situation been reversed.
“Remus, you have to know I don’t blame you at all,” you said with as much conviction as you could muster.
The boy stared straight ahead as he struggled to process the emotions overwhelming him. He managed a weak, “I know,” in response.
You continued, “If anything, it’s my fault. I came too early, I didn’t wait for the signal.” You knew he was about to interrupt you, but you cut him off, “And I know you’d disagree. You’d never blame me. So know that I feel the exact same towards you, alright?”
He gave you a curt nod, rendered speechless by your words and actions.
Countless thoughts raced through your own mind, but one in particular was nagging at you. You sighed, knowing you couldn’t wait any longer to bring it up. “Remus, remember the day Sirius turned Winnie into a dog?”
“Yes, I remember,” he breathed.
“I lied to you that day.” You took your head off his shoulder to find him looking at you in confusion.
“Lied about what?”
“When you were helping me reverse the charm, you asked me if I liked you. And I said no.” Now or never. “I lied.”
Remus was certain you could hear how loud his heart was pounding. “What do you mean? You like me?”
You squeezed your eyes shut before shooting him a defeated grin. “More like I’ve been hopelessly in love with you since first year.”
Remus’ jaw hung open. “You
what?”
You shifted uncomfortably. “I love you, you git. I understand if you don’t feel the same way, but please don’t make me say it again—”
Remus’ lips crashed onto yours before you could utter another word. You gasped at the contact, but quickly returned the kiss. You felt warmth spread throughout your entire body as his lips moved against yours in a way that was both unexpected and familiar. He held your cheek with one hand, the other tangled in your hair, tingles emanating from every inch of skin he touched. You melted into his touch, dragging your hands down his back and—
“Oy! No snogging in the hospital wing!”
The two of you broke apart, startled by Madam Pomfrey’s reprimand. She slinked out of view after giving you a prolonged scowl. You and Remus looked at each other, dissolving into laughter.
“So, I take it you feel the same way?”
The grin never left Remus’ face as he pulled you into his side. “Yes, you twit. I’ve been hopelessly in love with you ever since I walked onto the Hogwarts Express and laid eyes on the prettiest girl I’d ever seen in my life. Then, I actually talked to you, and that was it. I was long gone. Unsalvageable, really.”
Your cheeks burned at his confession. “I honestly can’t believe you just said that, Remus Lupin.”
He shook his head. “I can’t believe Sirius was right.”
“What?” Your head shot up. “But Sirius has known I’ve liked you for forever. Why didn’t he say anything?”
Remus thought back to the many, many conversations he’d had with Sirius about you. “I reckon he did, darling. In retrospect, I think everyone knew. You and I are just too stubborn to listen.”
“I refuse to give Sirius the satisfaction of being right,” you huffed.
Remus laughed, planting a kiss to the top of your head. “Yeah, that too.”
~
A few days later, you’d both been discharged and were back in class. Everything was back to normal, except for the fact that you were now dating Remus Lupin.
You hadn’t realized how much affection he’d previously been holding back, all of it being unleashed on you now that it was all out in the open. If he was protective before, it didn’t hold a candle to the way he treated you now. He was constantly fussing over you, using your wounded leg as an excuse to coddle you.
“Angel, here, use me as a crutch. Just grab my arm right there and—”
“Remus, you’re already carrying all my books. My leg’s almost completely healed now, I promise you I can walk on my own.”
Your boyfriend shot you a skeptical look as you wobbled towards the stairs ahead of you. You knew you’d never make it all the way up the steps to the astronomy tower on your own, but the concussion hadn’t made you any less hard-headed. You were determined to prove to Remus he could stop worrying about you. It was a futile effort—Remus would worry about you for the rest of time, whether or not you were injured.
Remus glanced at Sirius. “I don’t know what she’s thinking, she’s just going to hurt herself, don’t you think she should let me help?”
“Sure, she probably does need your assistance there.”  Sirius crossed his arms over his chest. “You know what she doesn’t need, mate? You coming up with a new pet name for her every other day. I mean, angel? It’s revolting. And don’t get me started on—”
“I’ll stop when you stop calling her doll,” Remus said smugly.
“Never.”
“Then sod off, mate,” Remus called over his shoulder as he jogged over to you.
After a few more minutes of bargaining, you finally allowed Remus to dump your books on Sirius and carry you up the steep steps. You complained the whole way up, of course.
Once you made it to the top, Remus set you down and helped you over to one of the benches by the edge of the tower overlooking Hogwarts’ grounds. He took his place next to you while Sirius set his things down a little farther away, grumbling about how heavy your books were.
“Hey,” Sirius called, “you’re finally the one up here with her, Moony!”
You furrowed your eyebrows. “What does he mean, Rem?”
Remus bit his lip, turning you away from Sirius. “No idea what he’s on about, love.”
You didn’t believe him, but you didn’t push it. You’d bring it up later. Right now, you just wanted to spend time with your boyfriend. You loved being able to call him that.
He pulled you closer, and you wrapped your arms around his waist, sighing in content. “Sometimes I still can’t believe this is real,” you said quietly.
“I feel the same way. And to think we could’ve had this six years earlier if one of us had just said something.”
You groaned, “Ugh, don’t remind me. I get so annoyed thinking about all the time wasted.”
Remus pressed his lips to the top of your head. “Well, I wouldn’t call it time wasted. I still loved every moment I spent with you, even though it was torturous at times. There were so many times I almost gave in and told you.”
“Tell me about it. Do you know how much time I spent analyzing every hug you gave me? I completely terrorized Sirius for years.”
Remus chuckled, “He deserves it.”
You blinked up at him as he tucked a few loose strands of hair behind your ear, relishing in the comfort that small gesture brought. “Remus, do you think we’ll be together for the rest of our lives?”
You’d never seen him look so earnest as he whispered, “I promise you eternity and everything after, darling.”
You smiled, meeting his lips halfway, never tiring of how they felt on you.
“Hey, Y/N!” Sirius suddenly shouted, causing you to break apart and glare at him.
“What, Sirius?”
He grinned sheepishly. “About that conditioner—”
You and Remus yelled in unison, “Shut up, Sirius!”

hi lovelyyy,, thanks for requesting !! yes ofc i could :) i hope you like this !! ☁đŸȘœđŸ«§đŸ«§
one spoon for two
(remus lupin x reader)
contents : fluffy, shy reader, mentions of twoz book series bcs my ozian ass is obsessed with them😭🙏, not proofread
  . ‱ ☆ . ° .‱ °:. *₊ ° . ☆
it wasn't a secret that you were shy.
you don't talk much. you usually let the others do the talking and you listen. despite your lack of voice, your ears are fully open. which is not so much of a convenience really.
sometimes you worried that your friends get bored of you because you have nothing to say. it's not like you don't care, you do. you just don't quite know the right words to express what you think.
you only talk when it's necessary. when people talk to you first. that's why you've been getting frustrated lately.
sitting on the grass with a book open on your lap, you were focused on the neatly printed pages and illustrations on your book along with the sound of soft winds and dried leaves. well- that was until you saw the infamous marauder, james and sirius trotting on the ground while throwing a snitch at each other to catch.
you don't want to look at them. although every part of you wanted to steal a glance towards the kindhearted marauder, remus lupin.
he's the perfect combination of every good things in the world.
he is smart, funny, witty, caring, and so much more.
it takes everything in you to keep your little pupils away from his face. if you look at him, you were sure you'd blush and that would be embarrassing.
you got up slowly, escaping whatever you're feeling right now.
there he goes, averting his eyes to your moving figure. he frowns a little, knowing that you were quite shy in front of people and prefer being in the company of your own.
"whatcha looking there moony? your girl?" sirius quipped.
"she wouldn't even look at me," he shook his head. he wondered if you knew his feelings and were terrified.
"she's just shy, moony," james said, almost missing the snitch sirius threw.
the next time you were in the same room with him was in potions. you noticed how his hair flops in the prettiest way possible with the perfect shade of golden.
then the next second, he turned his head so you reluctantly look away immediately. thankful that he was turning to look at james and not you.
and god does the universe loves seeing you nervous!
your were partnered up with remus and james to brew a potion together.
the two boys walked towards your table. james skipping like a child while remus tried to keep his cool.
"hey darlin' i will be getting the ingredients yeah, and you and remus can set up the table," james grinned a friendly grin.
you nodded, whispering a 'yeah'. it wasn't loud, but remus heard it just as clear.
as you set up the table, remus tried talking to you, to hopefully get you comfortable and to show that he is a good person.
you didn't need him to do things just to prove he is a good person. you already knew that of course. he is nice to everyone. he's selfless and caring.
"hey, you alright?" he noticed your timid movements.
"yeah, m'fine," you said to him in such a quiet voice. you couldn't look at him, you're too shy to do so.
it was the middle of brewing when your hand brushed his while you were crushing pearls. "sorry," you mumbled.
"no need to apologise..." he frowned, confused as to why you were so... away from here yet you were in the same room. "you sure you're alright?" he continued, reaching for your palms.
he was shocked at himself. he just touched your hand? he's never done that to anyone except his marauders. but he didn't regret it though, your skin was so much softer than his. he felt like he's holding a ball of cotton.
your cheeks turned red when his hand grasped yours. your heart beating twice as fast. "remus, i'm promise im okay...," you answered.
remus squeezed your knuckles, sending a confused look to james in which he returned with a teasing grin that made remus rolled his eyes.
maybe he liked you. well- who's he kidding, of course he does! he saw you almost everyday, and you look so enchanting the entire time.
he thinks your hair is perfect. you styled it in the way that makes your pretty face prettier. your energy (or lack of energy) is cute too. you fumble with your words when people talk to you. and he thinks it's adorable and attractive at the same time.
the way you pushed your hair away from your eyes as you crushed those pearls. it was absolutely angelic.
"i think y/n likes you moons," james said when they were all sprawled on their dorm at the end of the day.
"i think so too" sirius agreed, chuckling as he threw a piece of crumpled up paper.
"me too." he said.
everyone stayed silent after that. mouth wide open. they never thought remus would be so confident saying that someone likes him (although it's not a bad thing, just out of remus' usual self deprecation).
"wha- no!" remus shook his head in disbelief. "i mean i like her too," he corrected shyly, his cheeks flushing.
"we know," the three of them said at the same time and bursted into laughter the next moment.
"it's quite obvious moony!" james said, "especially this morning when you held her hand. you never do that! let alone let us touch your little shoulder."
"it's different!"
"oh we know! you never look at me like you want to kiss my face off but you do look at y/n that way," james said.
"she always steals a millisecond to look at you y'know?" sirius snickered. enjoying the embarrassment his best friend is experiencing currently.
"don't lie, pads. she didn't even look at me the whole potions class," remus sighed.
"she's just shy, moony," sirius rolled his eyes. "if you really really and i mean really feel like you two can work out together, my advice is that you should reach out and talk to her. slowly but surely she'll be less nervous with you!"
and remus took sirius' advice. usually his advices are absurd and obnoxious but sirius has girls and boys falling for him left and right. surely he knows how to treat a girl right?
he saw you sitting at the library one evening. nose buried in your book. the only features he can see are your hair, forehead, and eyebrows.
and they all look pretty. your brows would furrow when you read something weird in the book.
it's hard to compose himself when you were there. just sitting peacefully with no care about the things surrounding you. you weren't even doing anything and he is smitten.
you heard shuffling besides you and you look up almost instantly, meeting a pair of honey green eyes in the colour like a comet in the sky.
you look away immediately, focusing on your book, growing nervous under his stare.
he smiled, "is it okay f'me to sit here?"
"yeah," you replied. you cringed at how short it was. you don't want to come off as rude or cold or anything but it's hard to speak a sentence.
"what're you reading there?" he asked, his voice sweet like candy.
"uh," you flipped your book around, to read off the title. "the road to emerald city of oz," you replied, tilting your chin towards him as you smile gently but still keeping your eyes firmly on the page.
"is it like a series? i heard about the wonderful wizard of oz somewhere," remus replied.
"it is," you nodded. it's hard to read when he's beside you like this. when you're the only thing in his view right now. when you're the only one in his head.
"do you have all the books?" he asked, just wanting to hear voice.
"i do," you finally flickered your eyes at him for a good two seconds before returning them back to your book. you blushed when you look at him. he was radiating comfort and care but you were too much in your feelings. eye contact is your weakness.
"can i borrow them?"
"you want to read them?" you looked at him again, this time a little longer and a little more confused. confused as to why anyone would be interested in what you like.
"why not? don't you like it?" he asked.
"i do," you replied. "i'm on the seventh book," you looked down again.
remus let out a soft chuckle, gazing at you like you're the most precious human being ever.
"huh?" you furrowed your brows. looking at his sweater instead of his face.
"you're so dear you know," he smiled.
your cheeks flushed red at his compliment. you didn't reply. didn't know how to.
"i'll get the book for you," you scrambled out of the library, heading to your dorm to give remus the first book in the series.
while being away from him, you collected yourself, taking deep breaths because he's so breathtaking that close. you've never been this close to him. he smells so good.
you were back in a jiffy, only to find out that remus has scooted more in the middle, making your legs touch when you sit down.
"oh yeah! just like what i heard "the wonderful wizard of oz," he nodded.
"sorry, it's a children's book," you replied in embarrassment, just realising that you were reading a book for children!
"oh i don't mind! i read cringy werewolf romance books and that makes you so much better than me," he laughed, seeing the small smile that appeared on your pretty lips.
the next time he was talking to you this close again was when he finished the first copy of your book. he had finished it in just two days, leaving you in surprise.
he read it so fast so he can find an excuse to spend time with you again. the story was quite alright, but he would not tell that to you.
"hi," he plopped down next to you in the library. same exact spot as last time. "i finished it!" he held up the book.
"oh that's great," you replied, surprised he was sitting here again next to you "did you like it?"
"i loved it! i can't believe the wizard of oz is just an old basic man! not even magic," he huffed childishly, making you giggle.
the sound is simply spa music to his ears.
"what's your favourite character?" remus asked.
"glinda."
"oh the witch... from the south?"
"yeah," you replied.
"next book?" he questioned.
you had it in your bag, ready to give it to him anytime. "i've got it here," you pulled it out.
remus smiled as your fingertips brushed past his in a quick incandescent touch.
this routine continued so and so until he noticed a few changes within yourself. you weren't that shy nor timid anymore. you still couldn't hold eye contact with him for more than five seconds but that's alright for him.
during those five seconds he is sure he has fallen in love. he couldn't help it. you're his crush since forever, it's bound to happen.
"hey, i finished glinda of oz!" remus cheered, putting down the book on his lap as he took in your appearance.
this was not at the dark library that shadows off your features. you were sitting on grass in the afternoon, making your skin glow under the golden rays of sunshine. he can see your pretty face clear now.
you smiled at him as he took a seat beside you, you actually feels secure enough around him to look at his face.
"that means you finished the whole series, rem," you let out a soft and proud but light chuckle.
"i now know why you love it so much!" remus smiled. he realised he always smiles when he's with you. you must have super powers.
"do you like glinda?" you asked.
"my favourite character is the tin wood man. he's funny, but yeah. since you like glinda so much then i guess she can be a favourite of mine too!" remus replied, rubbing circles in your knuckles.
just that little gesture he did made you shy all over again, unable to look at him like the first time you two were talking.
remus smiled again, gently taking your other hand with his other. "i want to ask you something, lovie," remus looked into your beautiful eyes.
your head is fuzzy. he called you 'lovie'. a nickname. you're sure you were warm in the face.
remus brushed his fingers on your left cheek with the softest touch known to men. "love..."
"yes...?"
"the next hogsmeade trip is this saturday.... do you want to er- like share the trip together- i mean as a date?" he looked at you with such fondness in his eyes.
"me?"
"yes you, lovie, look at me yeah?" remus gently cupped your cheeks.
you two were so close to the point that you can feel remus warmth radiating off of him.
"what do you say?"
"yeah," you nodded. embarrassment washing you again when all you said was just a 'yeah'.
"yeah yes or yeah no?" remus asked, a smile playing on his lips.
"yes i'll go with you," you were a blushing mess, trying to look away from his eyes but his soft hands kept tugging you back.
remus felt the heat from your cheeks in his palm. it was absolutely a fuzzy feeling knowing that you were showing likeness towards him.
he wanted to kiss you. doesn't have to be on the lips. he'd love to plant small kisses on your red cheeks. but he didn't of course. boundaries.
"settled then yeah? i'll be waiting at our common room, darling," he smiled.

Tumblr media
I was doing fine till you crashed in my headspace And took over my mind I was sorta cool till you made me a headcase And now I'm always Getting over it, getting over you, I don't even know you Hit me with that smile Way to rip my heart out my ribcage, ooh-ooh
"so i think i'll just do it lat-" you don't finish, distracted by a certain tall boy, with honey eyes and scarred face. who just walked in.
"what happened?" lily asks, worried by your sudden change.
"i hate him" you declare, maybe for the fifth time that day.
"you don't" marlene adds, focusing on her nails.
"yeah you don't" lily agrees, turning to wave at remus.
"okay maybe i don't" you keep talking so they can't interrupt you "but i am getting over him" you announce "i can't live like this, like, i don't even remember what i was talking about 'cause he just crashed into my headspace, and now i can only think about him, and his hair, and his hands and his sweaters
"
lily talks, intervening before you can go on your daily rant about remus lupin.
"i thought you said you hated him and were getting over him?" she smiles, chuckling when you groan.
marlene also smiles, but she loudly laughs when you put your head in your hands. remus just smiled at you.
"he's gonna rip my heart out my ribcage"
Only hit me now, we were texting late When you called me up just to see my face And I can't, I can't seem to figure you out Are you with that girl back in your home town? If we never kissed, does it even count? I still can't get you out of my mouth Way to touch me, babe, way to ask a {lady?} Overthink, overcomplicate Won't you let me stay in this fake heartbreak? I'm a real headcase
you know you should be sleeping instead of texting remus. you are aware of that, but it's hard to sleep when all he's doing is giving you mixed signals. it's hard to sleep when all you're doing is thinking about him. it's hard to sleep when he asks if he can come over. and it's even harder to say no to him.
"why did you want to come over?" you ask him as he walks in, closing the door behind him.
"just wanted to see your face" he stands in front of you, ignoring the way you frown at his words, touching your cheek.
"can i be honest with you?" he smirks.
"of course" he takes a step closer to you.
"i don't think i'll ever figure you out" you rest your forehead against his chest, feeling the vibrations as he chuckles.
"good"
ṳ  Ś‚   𓈒  ⠀🌙 ă…€Ś‚  ✜   ੭
"i don't get it, he comes over, spends the night and then he's making out with this girl from his hometown" you pout at your ceiling, marlene and lily next to you.
"we don't get it either" lily assures.
"maybe it's because we never kissed, maybe it doesn't count"
"i don't think remus is like that" marlene says, giving you a chocolate.
"i hate how i can't stop talking about him" you sigh, closing your eyes "in my defense, he gives really good hugs"
"maybe you're just over thinking?" lily asks, taking a chocolate from marlene.
"let me stay in this fake heartbreak please"
Honey, if you want, I could give you my weekends All you gotta do Is tell me this is true, tell me I am your weakness Just give me something I don't know how this started Is this what modern art is? You left and took my heart with
"are you free this weekend?" remus finds you as you're walking to class, getting the books from your hands to hold them for you.
"i don't know" you do know, marlene wants you to go to this party with her "why?"
"are you coming to the party?" he asks, smiling at you.
"i don't know yet" you lie, marlene would kill you if you didn't go.
"okay, i'll see you there then" he gives you your books back.
"what?" you frown.
"i'm inviting you, so you have to go" he then turns around and leaves, probably to his class.
ṳ  Ś‚   𓈒  ⠀🌙 ă…€Ś‚  ✜   ੭
you see remus right when you enter, but lily quickly drags you to were marlene is waiting, so you don't see him again until an hour later. when you've already had some drinks.
"hi" he pats the spot next to him on the couch, and you sit, staring at your cup "how are you?"
"can i ask you something?" you say, ignoring him.
"sure" he puts an arm around your shoulder.
"will you please tell me that this is true? tell me i am your weakness?" you stare at him.
"are you drunk?" he take the hand that's holding your cup and puts it close to his face, smelling it "you are drunk" he confirms as he gets up, pulling you up with him.
he takes your hand in his, and walks to lily and marlene, that are talking with james and sirius.
"i'm taking her to her room" he tells the girls.
"why?" sirius asks, but one glance at you is enough, it's obvious that you're drunk.
"okay, we'll go check on her later" lily says, taking the cup from your hand as you pass next to her, following remus.
you're already in a corridor when you talk again.
"please just give me something" you say, staring at the back of his hand
"you have to sleep" he mutters, ignoring you until you reach your room.
you fall on your bed, staring at the ceiling.
"i don't know how this started" you tell him, knowing that he knows what you're talking about. you're talking about your weird relationship. you are friends, but you flirt, you stay up talking to each other, you get jealous when the other is on a date with someone. but you aren't dating. "but i hate it, i hate you"
he only smiles, knowing that you don't mean it. he sits next to you, stroking your hair, waiting until you fall asleep.
then he leaves, taking your heart with him.
And it hit me now, we were texting late Then you called me up just to see my face And I can't, can't seem to figure you out (You out), ooh-ooh Are you with that girl back in your home town? If we never kissed, does it even count? I still can't get you out of my mouth (My mouth)
you hear your name being called just as you get up to get another drink. when you turn, you see sirius walking to you.
"remus is asking for you" he says, taking your hand and dragging you with him. you hadn't seen or talked to him since that party last week.
"what?" you ask, but before he can answer, you're standing in front of a very drunk remus, whose eyes light up when he sees you.
"hi" he giggles, taking the hand sirius is holding, to hold it himself.
"hi" you reply, frowning at james, who's watching everything with a smirk "why don't you go to sleep?"
you think remus is not going to agree, but he quickly gets up.
"with you? of course" he starts walking to the door, and you can only look back at james and sirius as they laugh.
"what? remus, no, i didn't mean-" you try to talk, but he ignores you, looking back only to grin.
once you reach his room, he quickly takes off his shoes and lies on the bed, staring at you with his arms open.
"remus" you say, not getting closer to him.
"yes?" he smiles at you, and if you weren't tipsy you'd notice the sparks in your eyes are because of you.
"sleep"
"i'm trying to, but you are just standing there" he sounds genuine about it, just the same way he looks genuinely sad when you take a step towards the door.
he doesn't say anything, so you assume he's just going to give up. but before you can reach the door, you feel his hand on your wrist. and before you can say something, you're on the bed next to him, with his arms around you.
"remus?" you try to move, but his grip doesn't get any weaker, even when he's half asleep.
he hums in response, his face in your neck.
"let me go"
he doesn't reply, but you feel his smile against your skin.
"i want to go back to the party" you try again, even if it's not entirely true.
"liar" he mutters, and his arms tighten around you.
"what"
"you like being here with me" he replies, and then he finally falls asleep.
And I can't seem to figure you out Oh, I can't seem to figure you out (You out)
you wake up to a flashlight, and when you open your eyes, there's a really drunk sirius holding a camera, with a really drunk james suppressing a laugh next to him.
"what time is it?" you ask, peeling remus' arm from around you.
"like 4 am" sirius replies, taking another picture of remus, this time without flash.
"tell remus i said goodbye" you say, walking to the door, although you doubt they'll remember.
the second time you wake up, it's already bright up. and when you get to the Great Hall, you see remus staring at you.
"why is he glaring at you?" marlene asks, frowning when remus gets up.
"i don't know" you lie, but before lily can say anything, remus is already behind you.
"you weren't there when i woke up" he says it like an accusation, and before you can reply, marlene is already talking.
"what!?" she practically spits her tea "you slept with him?"
"no" you say.
"yes" he says.
"not in the way you think!" you clarify.
"why did you sleep with him?" lily asks, and you can see the smirk she's hiding.
"i didn't-"
"you did" before remus can say anything else, you get up and grab his arm, dragging him out of the Great Hall to talk.
"what?"
"you weren't there when i woke up" he repeats.
"you wanted me to be there?" you frown, because the signals he has given you definitely didn't say that.
"yes" he doesn't change his expression.
"i find that hard to believe"
"why?" he scoffs.
"really? why?" you don't know if you should ignore him or just laugh in his face.
"yes, why?"
"you act all lovely on me one day and then you are with someone else, forgive me if i don't believe that you want me around"
"i forgive you" this time you're the one who scoffs, turning around and walking again in the Great Hall, not caring if he follows you.
marlene and lily decide not to ask about it.
Are you with that girl back in your home town? If we never kissed, does it even count? I still can't get you out of my mouth (My mouth) Way to touch me, babe, way to ask a lady? Overthink, overcomplicate Won't you let me stay in this fake heartbreak? I'm the real headcase
"really? again?" peter questions as remus sits in the couch again. they're in the middle of a party and remus just left with that girl from his hometown.
"did she see me?" remus looks around, looking for you.
"i think she was too busy talking with evan" james informs him, grinning when lily approaches them.
"have you seen the idiots i call for friends?" she asks, shoving sirius out of the way to sit on the couch next to james.
"one was with dorcas and the other one just left with evan" peter replies.
"wait, it was real? she left with evan?" remus frowns, and even pouts when lily laughs at him.
"what? you think she's gonna wait for you? babe, she's getting bored of you" she tells him, suddenly turning around when you and marlene approach her.
you sit on the couch in front of her, where sirius went after lily had pushed him. he puts an arm around both of you.
"so, i heard that you're both in love with some slytherins" you both glare at him, and he laughs at remus' expression.
after talking for a while, and you ignoring remus all the time, you three get up and leave. but before you can reach the hallway, remus takes your arm.
"can we talk?"
"we're talking right now" you smile. he glares.
before he can reply, marlene shoves both of you out of the door and to a corner of the hallway.
"talk" and then she leaves with lily.
"why were you with evan?" he asks.
"we were talking"
"like we" he points to both of you "talk?"
"i don't know remus, how do we talk? how are you any different than evan?"
"he doesn't like you" you chuckle.
"and you do?"
"i do"
"i don't believe you" you start to walk away, but he grabs your arm and turns you around, settling his hands on your waist.
"let me help you believe"
"what?" you notice the way he looks at your lips.
"i can't get you out of my mouth, ask peter, i'm sure he hates me because all i ever do is talk about you. you're the only one who makes me overthink. i'm literally wondering if i'm too tall right now"
his face gets closer to yours as he talks.
"remus-"
"and i know that we never kissed, but even if it doesn't count, i'd prefer to stay on this fake heartbreak, just because it'd be because of you"
you can't handle it anymore, so you just kiss him, you grab his face and kiss him. you kiss him to shut him up, that's what you tell yourself.
when you pull away, he's grinning.
"that was just so you shut up" you tell him, but your hands don't leave his face, instead, they go to the back of his neck.
"sure"
"i meant it" you try to pull away, but his grip on your waist tightens, and one of his hands to the back of your neck.
"i'm gonna start talking again so you might need to shut me up again" he smirks.
you comply, happily.
I'm the real headcase I'm the real headcase Mm Yeah, I'm the real headcase
when you enter the great hall the next morning, remus walking in with you, your friends and his are sitting together.
so when you go sit with them, the stares you get are inevitable.
"so?" james starts, smirking.
"what?" you ask, already feeling the headache you're gonna get from this.
"did you sleep together?" marlene abruptly asks after a moment of silence.
"marlene!" you say.
"yes" remus says.
"remus!" you say again, hitting his arm.
"what? it's true!" he frowns.
"it's not" you say, sitting and focusing on your food.
"it is" everyone agrees, and you can't do anything but ignore them.
ṳ  Ś‚   𓈒  ⠀🌙 ă…€Ś‚  ✜   ੭
the next few weeks, you spend your days with remus, still not sure if you're dating or not, but neither of you care.
right now you're laying on his bed, reading a book, well, at least trying to, because remus is making it really hard. he's basically lying on top of you, stroking your hair and giving small pecks to your neck.
"can i ask you something?" he says after a while, lifting his head to look at you, but you focus on the book.
"sure" your eyes don't leave the book until you have no other choice, because certain someone just snatches it from your hand.
"do you want to be my girlfriend?" you freeze at his words, staring at him.
"i know it's not the best way of asking, i mean, you deserve something fancy, like chocolates or flowers, but i couldn't wait to ask you" he stares back at you, his eyes softer than ever. and all you can do is lean in and kiss him.
it's a sweet kiss, soft and short, and you think that it's enough as an answer, but you still reply.
"i'd love to" he kisses you again, and the book is long forgotten as his other hand goes to your waist, and the one in your hair goes to the back of your neck.
ṳ  Ś‚   𓈒  ⠀🌙 ă…€Ś‚  ✜   ੭
you walk into the gryffindor common room holding hands, and sit next to all of your friends, who look at you, suspiciously.
"what's happening?" sirius asks, pointing at your hands.
"what?" remus replies, and when you let go of his hand to pick up your book, his hand goes to your tight instead.
"why is your hand on my best friend's tight?" lily talks, frowning.
"i can't put my hand on my girlfriend's tight?" remus makes sure to emphasise the word girlfriend, and you're almost sure everyone stops breathing.
"what" marlene breaks the silence, "since when?"
"like two weeks ago" you mutter, still reading your book.
this time, the reactions come almost immediately.
"what!" mary screams.
"and you didn't tell us?" lily looks offended.
"we have to throw a party to celebrate!" james and sirius say at the same time, high fiving after that.
"when's the wedding?" marlene asks.
"next year" remus replies, and that makes you look away from your book.
"what!?" all of you ask, except remus.
"since when?!" lily frowns at you.
"i don't know!" you look at remus.
"we're already engaged" he says.
"what!?" you all say again, and he just rolls his eyes.
"we aren't engaged" you clarify.
"she's just in denial" remus tells everyone.
"you haven't asked!" lily frowns at that.
"you'd say yes!?" she asks.
everyone stops everything and looks at you, slowly getting more flustered, and at remus, who's grinning like he hasn't before.
"what if we get married next week?" he asks.
"no!" lily replies before you can.

OKAY OKAY!!! a request and modern au! where Remus Lupin watches his girl graduate and gets her associates degree. he is so proud of her and it’s completely fluff. Maybe he stands up in the crowds and cheers her on and then when he meets her at the end he picks her up and spins her around. I’m front of all her friends too and they’re surprised or something!! Love you <3

pov: fem reader x remus lupin. set in England, modern/no magic au 363 words No triggers [let me know if you find any!
Today was the day you’d dreamed about since you first stepped through the door of your university. Today your associates degree would be placed in your hands as your loved ones cheered you on from the crowd, watching you with pride. And while you were happy you had so many loved ones to share this special day with, there was one particular man who you couldn’t wait to see in the crowd. A man who went by the name moony due to an unusual moon shaped birthmark.
Remus hadn’t chosen to go to uni like you, instead he’d decided to open his own bookstore in the town centre and it was doing pretty well. But rather than boasting his own accomplishments, you’d caught him numerous times discussing yours loudly and proudly to anyone who could hear. “My girlfriend is studying journalism” he would say to anyone in his immediate vicinity. “I’m the reader in the relationship but she’s the writer!” He’d boast. It was rather adorable how much he loved to talk about you.
You were nervous as your time to walk across the stage approached and you craved the presences of the tall, Sandy haired man. You were so used to having him hold your hand at every step that your fingers flexed at the loss of contact. But soon enough your name was called and you were walking across the stage.
Much to the mortification of everyone but you, your loved ones were by far making the most noise as you received your scroll, shaking the deans hand with a smile. You glanced over to see remus, pinky fingers in his mouth, whistling as loud as he could to cheer you on as your dad whooped and your mum laughed at the men in your life. Your heart swelled with love and you were comforted by their display of pride rather than feeling embarrassed where most would.
At the end of the ceremony, you rushed over to where your parents and Remus were waiting. You hugged your parents who mumbled something about dinner plans before your boyfriend took your hand “these are for you” he said softly, handing you a bouquet of your favourite flowers. “I have another gift for you but I’d like to give it you later” he said, a mischievous glint in his eyes as he pondered the gorgeous necklace he’d bought you, sat in his pocket.
You leaned up on your tiptoes despite being in heels, and kissed his cheek. “Thank you” you said softly, a blush on your cheeks. “I love you” she smiled at him. Those were three words you’d never said in a romantic way to anyone until you’d met Remus and now they belonged only to him and always will. He passed the flowers you were holding to your parents before he picked you up, spinning you around. And as he slowly lowered you back to the ground, when he looked back at you with nothing but pure love and adoration in his eyes and said “ I love you and I am so proud of you.” You knew that he meant it too.
Okay it’s 2am( I haven’t checked this properly, I’m v.tired but I hope you love this and it lives up to what you wanted đŸ„č♄much love <3

hii! i read your "songs that remind me of remus lupin", and i for some reason thought "the great war" by taylor swift kinda reminded me of him. like the line 'i drew curtains closed, drank my poison alone' could mean him hiding his lycanthropy and suffered through it alone (before he was friends with the marauders and after they died). and 'somewhere in the haze, got a sense i'd been betrayed' could be about peter and sirius, how he thought (like everyone else) that sirius caused the deaths of the potters and killed peter. it was just a thought, though (i hope you don't mind 😭😭)
hello!
tbh i'm not a very avid taylor swift listener buuuut i definitely see where you are coming from here!
sadly i do think Remus will think exactly in just how you are thinking :(
its truly such a sad thought that we can honestly get into his mind about these things because...damn 😭😭
i honestly love hearing y'all's thoughts on such things đŸ„čeven though we make each other sad about it, it's definitely something we tend to come together about.

✿ 》The alley down near Lupin
╰⧌ đŸȘ» note.. ⧜ ; I'm so unbelievably tempted to turn this into a full series ( purely to give an excuse 2 write skk threesome ) but gimmie yalls feedback!! this one's pretty short but I had writers block so I had to shove something out.
╰⧌ 🌙 contents.. ⧜ ; dazai x gn!reader, cheating, intoxicated makeout, brief mentions of drugging, reader is dating chuuya. everything is consensual and safe for now.
Tumblr media
maybe you were drunk, but so was he.
his hands on your skin somehow felt colder then the winter air that you'd dipped onto an alleyway to avoid. his fingertips like icecubes, you'd wish to let them melt on your tongue if you weren't afraid of the burn in the aftertaste.
there was no words being said, if there was any that even needed to be spilt. you knew that they'd fall through like a broken hourglass anyway - there was no result in any effort.
you had your lips against his, it felt the same as any other day. but your heart stung, your veins tore at your skin and your eyes had to be shut. had to be. you couldn't let yourself process anything about the situation. you had to pretend it wasn't him.
it was consensual, that's all you'd note. lying about a strong factor such as that would only do you and him harm. and you wouldn't wish that upon anybody. maybe he'd drugged you, but you weren't sure. you'd wished he had, it'd be an excuse.
the alcohol stung, your lips stung. your hips that he gripped so tightly with a mixup between lust and love stung. you knew why it hurt, but to know means you'd have to process. and you already didn't want to do that.
dazai osamu - his hands traced to the small of your back, barely letting you pull away for a moment. you half hoped you'd suffocate in these lips. you'd never been religious, but you prayed that he'd swallow you whole and let you leave this life.
you could feel his smirk against your lips. bastard. if you weren't so intoxicated you would've slapped him. he knew the situation as well as you did, he knew how foul your mind was fogging.
and foul it was.
you opened your eyes as the top of your back felt the rough surface of the bricks he laid you on before him. catlike pupils scanning over the surface of how he'd deshrivelled you. you hated it when he looked at you like this, it wasn't right.
"you know you can't stay around me. yet you come back so longingly with your tail between your legs. it's cute." his voice cradled your ears in a way you weren't exactly comfortable with. you hated his tone. you hated everything about the situation. you hated him.
he wasn't your boyfriend. chuuya was.
you closed your eyes again, in hopes to envision your real love.

i have a request. hear me out glitch (midnights) it's such a remus track. we were supposed to be just friends but the system's breaking down and now it's been two thousand one hundred and 90 days of our love blackout??
-🌙
shiraz
summary the moment in which you and remus realise that the fwb situation has moved onto more!!!!
note this isn't probably how this should've been written but um.
content remus lupin x fem!afab!reader, drunk reader, drunk remus, mentions of sex
Clumsy hands and girlish laughter. Remus spends twenty minutes looking for you around Sirius’s flat and when he does find you, wine-stained lips and rumpled clothes, you can’t keep your hands off of him.
He gets you up into one of the spare rooms before you can break into Sirius's stash of gin.
You fall into the bed and he's not sure the giggling will stop anytime soon. "Remus!" you snort and hold your hand to your face when you realise it.
He kneels at your feet, "Y/N," he says in turn. Much quieter - much more reserved. He's had half the amount of booze you have and he still feels a bit zapped.
You have no problems when he reaches down to take your boots off. A tangled mess of laces and knots. He remembers you getting Mary to tie them up for you earlier in the night.
He lets you babble away. Drunken, mindless talk that he's honestly having a hard time understanding. He starts to get your last shoe off and you land back into the mattress. Head swallowed by a soft pile of pillows.
He pushes his thumb into the arch of your foot because the morning after every night out you act like you might sue Dr Martens.
"Moony," you call, voice barely a murmur. "Moony, moony, moooony!" Your voice picks up and Remus melts.
"What's up, honey?" he asks. All soft because he can't help it. He never can. Not with you.
"Get into bed," you say with a lot more heat than Remus is expecting.
He looks at your jeans and pictures the seam lines embossed into your red legs in the morning. Then you're making grabbing hands for him and he forgets about it.
He falls down next to you with much less grace, despite you being the smashed one, and wraps an arm over your torso. He pushes his fingers under your shirt, pressing firmly into your warm skin below the wire of your bra.
You sigh. "Remus."
He thinks it's a warning. He snorts. "Yeah?"
You turn onto your side and hike yourself up onto a wobbly arm. Remus holds your bicep like you falling into his chest is the worst thing that could happen right now.
You lean down to kiss his cheek. "Do you," you ask into his skin, "do you want to take your clothes off?"
Remus encourages your face away from his gently, "Hm?"
You wrinkle your face, "Fuck, Remus? Do you want to - to fuck?" you hiccup. It's almost adorable.
Remus laughs stupidly at your language. He's drunk - you're worse. He thinks he'd rather cuddle you in this tiny bed until the sun comes up. Or until your hangover wakes you up - whatever's first.
"Not tonight, dove," he says as gently as he can. He kisses your cheek and then your jaw, the skin behind your ear. He feels the goosebumps erupt over your skin and can't help the smug smile on his face.
"Oh." You don't sound disappointed one bit. Maybe a tad pleased.
"You're drunk," he says like it's not obvious.
"Then," you try to hold back another bout of hiccups, "then what do you want to do?" It wouldn't be the first time Remus has stolen you away from a party and you hadn't used the bed to sleep.
"Wanna cuddle?" he asks hopefully. The soft light that slips under the crack in the door casts his skin pale. Silver lines of scars light up his flesh and cut through the expanse of his freckles. If you weren't so wine-drunk you'd probably tell him that he's the prettiest boy you know. And then some.
You take his hands and kiss his knuckles. Over tiny hairs and even tinier beauty marks. Your eyes feel heavy suddenly. Maybe it's the wine, maybe it's the fact that Remus wants to cuddle and you feel overwhelmed by love. Maybe it's both.
"Please, can we." You hope he can hear your tiny plea. You won't repeat yourself.
Remus doesn't say anything. You both climb out of your pants. Your denim and his corduroys. It's giggly and slow. You fall into him and he topples over you. Eventually, they get shuffled off and Remus gets you as close as he possibly can to his chest. Your breathing syncs up with his and you needle a leg between his thighs.
You close your eyes and hope you don't smell too much like Shiraz.
"How much wine did you drink?" Remus asks.
You groan. "Only one."
"What?" His laugh rumbles your chest.
"One bottle. And whatever Alice gave me," you sigh.
"Right, well Alice can hold your hair back in the morning," he laughs, slipping a hand under your big sweater.
"You won't do it for me?"
"Yeah, of course, I will."
And he does. He holds your hair back over the toilet and makes you toast and tea. He takes you back to your flat and gets you into some proper pyjamas - and a pair for himself that he'd left there the last time. And because you really are lucky, he cuddles you some more in your own bed. Total and utter boyfriend and girlfriend behaviour.
