Where are all the “Alicent ruined any relationship Rhaenyra could’ve had with her siblings! I know Nyra would have loved her siblings if they weren’t poisoned by Alicent’s hatred!” people at? Rhaenyra hated those kids from birth.
She was in a one sided beef with a 2 year old who did nothing but eat oatmeal with his hands and bang wooden dragons together.
Also for the people who claim Alicent horrifically abused Rhaenyra for 10 years and made it unbearable to live in the castle, do they consider Rhaenyra glaring coldly at Alicent and her “two year old rival” all the time and looking at Alicent with a gaze that could “cut like Valyrian steel” abuse?
Or is it just when Alicent does these things to our pure Valyrian blooded Princess is it abuse?
for our pureblooded Valyrian princess it is an insult even for the Hightowers to breathe under the same roof as her🤭
oh that poor summer child who looked at her little brother like sharp Valyrian steel, saying that boars squeal like children. oh, this unhappy married woman, whom Alicent bullied for ten years, insulted her right and left, did not let her live!
Have you noticed how tb stans love to sugarcoat the helplessness of their favorite girlboss? this is very cute. like, they call her a true queen, admire how she epically flies on a dragon (and does nothing else except cry forever), but when it comes to Alicent, they immediately take the position of victims. “It’s all Alicunt’s fault, she’s the one who belittled her for so many years!” seriously? your girlboss is almost 30 years old and you still think she is incapable of protecting herself and her family? calling her Alicent's victim? then why do they hesitate to call Alicent a victim, because she was obviously raped and manipulated from an early age? no, the victim can only be Rhaenyra! she deserved to burn all the vile Hightowers alive! and in general, Aegon himself is to blame for being born into the world, and on those birthdays, gifts should have been given to her, not to him 🙄
and of course, only Alicent is to blame for the fact that she persuaded her children to hate Rhaenyra, only she alone. and it doesn’t matter at all that our purebred princess herself did not interact with her siblings🤗

1000: Bull
Eric picks up the Bull card, bracing for the flash of light he knows is coming. When it fades, the other two cards have turned to dust, and Eric can see the Bull face has joined the tattoos twining around his bicep. He grins, excited for this week’s transformation. Who knows how big he’ll become? He goes to bed and dreams of deadlifts, squats, and curls.
On Sunday morning, Eric’s alarm goes off at 6 AM. What the fuck? Eric turns it off, but then a notification pops up on his phone. “Legs: 7 AM.” Eric sees it with dawning horror.
It seems like his body is on autopilot once he sees the scheduled event. Eric rolls out of bed and pours himself a bowl of oatmeal, mixing in a scoop of protein powder he didn’t have yesterday. By 6:45, Eric’s out of his apartment, jogging to the gym.
Aaron, the big guy he punched last week, is waiting at the front desk, holding a folder with Eric’s name on it. “Good to see you, lil bro,” he says as Eric walks in, making Eric bristle at being called little. “Ready to start getting big?”
Over the next hour and a half, Aaron works Eric through a punishing leg workout. “See, bro, the reason you’re so skinny is just because you’ve never been consistent,” Aaron tells him, while Eric leans against the squat rack, unable to stand without his legs shaking. Eric just nods, unable to muster enough breath to speak.
After their workout, Aaron gives Eric a bro-hug at the front desk and tells him to go for a jog around campus before showering. “I’ll see you tonight for upper body, right bro?”
Eric’s legs have carried him out the door before he can do more than say “For sure!”
As he jogs, Eric spots his reflection in the windows of the buildings he passes. He definitely looks bigger than he did last night. His quads are starting to stretch the seams of his shorts, and his back might be just a bit wider in his tank top. The thought has him chubbing up, his cock starting to leak.
Blair definitely loves the new Eric when Eric knocks on his door, still chewing on a protein bar. He loves it even more when Eric pushes him up against the wall to take his ass. Was Eric always taller than Blair? It doesn’t matter, Eric has to go prep his lunches for the week. It’s a lot of food, more than Eric can imagine eating in a month, much less a week, but he follows the instructions on his phone dutifully and puts his six lunchboxes—who the hell has six lunchboxes?—into his fridge, and eats one meal prep.
Finally, whatever gym-based compulsion has come over Eric releases him for a bit. He chills in his dorm for the afternoon, playing video games and thinking about how big he’s gonna get. An hour before his upper session with Aaron at 8 PM, Eric finds himself in the bathroom, propping his phone up on the counter to record his posing routine, steel-hard and leaking in his briefs the whole time.
After their second session, Eric’s arms feel like jelly, but they're pumped and his nipples are peeking out the sides of his tank top. Aaron doesn’t have anything else booked, so he comes back to Eric’s dorm and milks a load out of Eric’s sweaty balls with his mouth before they shower together. After downing a protein shake, his fifth meal of the day, Eric goes to bed.
Monday is pretty much the same. Eric shows up at the gym right on time at 7 for legs. His lower body has gone from skinny and toned to buff, and Aaron’s talking like they’ve been lifting together since Eric started university last year. While jogging back to his dorm, a couple of fratty guys doing a walk of shame catch Eric’s eye, and he gets them back to his dorm. They don’t have any loads left in them, but they’re happy to take one of Eric’s big loads each and worship his muscles before his shower.
When the frat guys leave, they invite Eric to their house’s 4th of July party on Tuesday night. Blair, coming down the hall, overhears, and cuts in as Eric’s about to say, “I need to go to the gym.”
“We’ll be there,” Blair says, sliding past the frat guys to Eric’s side.
“But what about my—”
“See you tomorrow.” Blair closes the door behind the guys.
There’s no classes on Tuesday, so instead Eric does his second workout with Aaron early. As soon as he put the frat party into his phone calendar, it rearranged the whole rest of Tuesday and Wednesday to account for it. Instead of 6 AM, his alarm’s going off at 8 on Wednesday, plus his evening protein shake has been removed so he can drink at the party.
Partway into his second cup of mystery punch, Eric realises he’s one of the biggest guys here. Blair’s cuddled into his thick chest as they dance, his head topping out at Eric’s shoulders. When Eric picks him up just to try it, Blair’s weight doesn’t even match his warm-up sets with Aaron. By the time he’s pushing one of the frat guys against the wall to suck on his neck, Eric’s precum has leaked right through his American flag shorts.
Tumblr media
After his shower the next morning, Eric just… doesn’t put any clothes on. As long as he’s in his own dorm, what’s the point? He can just chill, stroke himself a bit, eat, and update his pics on Grindr. Clothes are for guys who have something about their body to hide, and Eric’s more than earned his cocky attitude at this point.
Aaron congratulates Eric in the gym the next day for “improving what was already great when you got here.” The dynamic between them has shifted as Eric’s gotten even bigger than Aaron. Aaron definitely doesn’t call him “lil guy” anymore, but he’s also more deferent, a little awed, and Eric can see his mouth hanging open a bit as he watches Eric deadlift. After their evening session, Aaron’s more than happy to come over and stay the night in Eric’s dorm. He even begs Eric to keep his cock inside Aaron's ass as they fall asleep.
Eric doesn’t have an alarm on Saturday. It’s his rest day. Plus, the gym- and food-compulsions he was experiencing all week seem to have gone away, replaced by his own habits and discipline. Muscles like his take a ton of work in the gym and in the kitchen to maintain, after all. Instead, Eric finds himself spending the morning in front of his full-length mirror, which he didn’t have last week, posing for himself.
The sight of his huge, muscular body gets him hard, so much so that there’s a slick puddle of precum forming on the floor by the time he calls Blair up.
After taking his load, Blair lies in Eric’s bed, letting cum drip from his asshole while he watches Eric do a few hundred push-ups and bodyweight squats. Just because it’s his rest day doesn’t mean he has to sit around doing nothing.
Tumblr media
“Wanna go out tonight?” Blair asks, when Eric takes a break to play some video games.
“Nah,” Eric glances at the box of cards, tucked in the back of his desk. “I’ll add it to my schedule tomorrow, though.”
“I’m holding you to that,” Blair says. “I missed seeing you with those frat guys, but we should go pick up some cuties so I can watch you hold them against the wall to fuck them.”
“I could just do that to you,” Eric rumbles. His voice has gotten a bit deeper, he’s noticed, as his chest’s expanded.
“Nah, I wanna watch this time.” By the time Blair leaves in the evening, they’ve decided which club to go to, and Eric’s watched his schedule adjust itself to the plan.
Until the box opens again, Eric kills time by portioning out his oatmeal for the week, and then doing some yoga stretches. He doesn’t want to lose mobility. He gets so distracted by trying to do the splits that he almost doesn’t notice the box open, and has to hurry to draw cards.
This time, all three of them are familiar symbols: flags. No interpretation necessary.
On the first card is a Japanese flag.
On the second card is a Mexican flag.
On the third card is a Senegalese flag.
Or vote here on strawpoll: https://strawpoll.com/jVyG8DYdYn7
See Eric's whole journey with the 1000 cards here.
Did your pick not win the vote? Send me an ask telling me what card Eric should have picked to see what could have happened.

Breathe
Part 2
Pairing: Will 'Ironhead' Miller x female reader
Words: 3.9k
Warnings: 18+. This isn't smut yet, but it's fully loaded with lots of sexual tension and spicy thoughts. Swearing.
Summary: Will's dreaded grocery run turns out better than expected, and things dial up a notch when he invites you to watch Benny's fight later that night.
A/N: I have nothing to say other than I love this man with my whole heart and that the smut is coming and it will be A LOT. I'm also having Benny and Will live together in this AU. Will needed the support of his brother after his Publix incident.
Part 1
---
The worst was how they stared. Judging him, casting glances and exchanging whispers as soon as he passed, the weight of never being able to live this down burdening him as if the one bad thing they knew he did outweighed all the other ones they would never know about.
Will pushed his cart along, moving as swiftly as possible through the grocery store, always making it his mission to do his shopping in a faster time than the week before.
He tilted his wrist, checking the time on his watch; nine minutes and thirty-seven seconds since he walked through the automatic doors. He was already ahead of his goal, and only needed to go down two more aisles to get everything he needed.
As he passed an employee stocking shelves who gave him a tense look, he cursed Benny for not coming with him. Will always felt better when he wasn't alone, alone with his thoughts and recollection of all the times he felt the same as he had that day; Benny and his relaxed, usually flippant demeanor brought him some ease when he needed it most.
With a sigh, he turned down the cereal aisle, praying no one else would be there, looking over the list in his hand one last time to ensure he wasn't forgetting anything. Taking note of a young woman at the very end, he steeled himself for the strength to grab a bag of oatmeal and get to the checkout unscathed, praying she would continue assessing the difference between two labels on the products held in her hands and have him remain inconspicuous.
It wasn't until Will got closer that he realized it was you. He stopped in his tracks, standing tall as he tapped his fingers over the handle of the cart, a smile crossing his face as he thought of an appropriate greeting but ultimately became lost in observing you.
Your brows were knitted together, clearly focused on what you were reading or attempting to decipher the better of the two choices before you shook your head and placed one back on the shelf and the other in your cart.
Obviously sensing being watched, you looked up, your expression changing from questioning to relieved when you recognized him standing on the other side of his cart.
"Will! Hi!"
"Hey," he smiled, unable to help himself. "How are you?"
"I'd be better if they stopped putting all but just the necessary ingredients in everything," you laughed, placing your hands behind you to rest on your lower back.
"Yeah, no doubt," he replied, breaking eye contact briefly before looking at you again.
You tilted your head, smiling at him, still smiling at you, "How are you?"
"Better now."
"Good," you said genuinely, keeping your eyes fixed on him as he reached across and grabbed a pack of instant oats from the shelf beside you, his blue eyes not leaving you as he did.
Will couldn't help but let his mind wander, feeling the need to close the distance between your bodies and frame you in with his arms, capturing your lips with his until they were glistening with the moisture from his mouth and made raw from his beard.
He noticed your chest rise and fall slowly despite not looking directly at it, registering how your pulse thrummed in the side of your neck, your pupils dilating while your tongue slipped between your lips and licked them before you spoke in a breathy voice; your body betraying your mind that was clearly sharing similar thoughts as him.
"Well, I'm all set here," you began, breaking the spell cast between you when you returned to stand behind your cart.
"Yeah, me too," Will fibbed, wanting to walk with you to the checkout rather than getting the ice cream specifically requested by Benny.
"Chocolate chip cookie dough! No, wait, maybe something with caramel in it," Benny had called from the other room, skirting through quickly to catch Will before he went out the door.
"Both. Get both."
"Jesus Christ, Benny, are you fucking five?"
"I need to try to get up to the next weight class, man. Just get me the fucking ice cream."
Will grinned to himself, pulling his bottom lip between his teeth.
Benny was going to be so pissed.
"I'm glad I ran into you," Will admitted, helping load your bags into the back of your car.
“I am, too,” you spoke through your smile, looking up at him as he held his arms up on the open door of your trunk, providing you with a view of his toned muscles you often had the pleasure of watching him sculpt.
"What are you doing tonight?" he asked, shutting the trunk closed before turning around to lean against the back of it.
You shrugged and shook your head, trying to mask the smile threatening to creep across your lips, "Nothing."
You watched Will transfer the piece of gum in his mouth from one side over to the other with his tongue, the action making that incessant ache between your legs return just as it did all the other times he did pretty much anything, and your mouth watered at the thought of feeling his tongue move against yours like that, amongst other places on your body.
"Benny has a fight tonight, if you're interested in coming to watch," he explained, folding his arms across his chest as he stared you down, the playful glint in his eyes not unnoticed.
"That sounds great. What time?"
"Starts at seven, Benny will be on around eight or so depending how quickly the first guys bloody each other up."
You laughed, nodding as he continued.
"I'll have to walk him out and leave you for a bit during his fight, but the rest of the night I'm all yours," he smirked, making your skin flush from head to toe.
"Okay, that's great, I'll see you at seven, then," you grinned, biting your bottom lip to help try to disguise how excited you were for this.
"See you at seven," he confirmed, patting your car twice with his large hand before turning to walk toward his truck, glancing back at you obviously as he did.
Will unlocked his truck and tossed his grocery bags in, feeling a surge of happiness and desire course through him that he hadn't felt in too long a time. He shut the door and started his way back toward the entrance of the store, intending on getting Benny three flavours of ice cream to choose from.
Will stood outside the side entrance, watching the crowd flow in and out of the parking lot and into the arena through the gate toward the front of the building, waiting for your arrival.
Seeing you once already today and knowing he was about to see you again had him on cloud nine, and in a mood those closest to him noticed, especially Benny, who was just on the other side of the door starting his warm-up.
Checking the time on his watch, Will sighed with impatience, eager to see your smile again and be the one to make it appear on your gorgeous face over and over.
The door creaked open, Benny peeking his head around it, his face and hair sweaty from the series of push ups and jogging he always did prior to a light spar with his trainer.
Will nodded his head at him as he unwrapped a piece of gum and put it in his mouth.
"What are you doing out here?" Benny asked, looking around to see his older brother standing solo.
"I'm waiting for someone."
"Who? Fish said he wasn't coming tonight."
"Uh," Will hesitated, shifting on his feet and breaking eye contact to look at the ground as he debated being honest with Benny in wanting to avoid his pestering.
Just then, your car pulled up, catching Will's attention and drawing Benny's, both Miller's watching as you parked in the vacant spot beside Will's truck. Will silently approved your decision, thinking how the opportunity for a drawn-out goodnight could easily take place between your vehicles.
"God damn," Benny breathed, his humoured grin splitting across his face as he put two and two together, earning a warning look from Will who crossed his arms over his chest and leaned back against the brick wall again.
"The hot girl from the gym you've been eye-fucking? How long has this been going on?"
"Nothing's going on, Ben."
"Bullshit. That's why you've been in such a good mood."
"Nothing has happened," Will stressed, raising his eyebrows at him as you got out of your car and started making your way over.
"Yet!" Benny laughed, excited for his brother to finally move on from his recent past. "How long has it been, man?"
"Fuck off, Benny," Will urged, not wanting to draw out this questioning any longer out of risk you would hear it.
"How long, Will?"
"You know exactly how long. Now fuck off and go warm up, I'll see you for walk-out."
Benny banged his open palm against the steel door a few times before turning around to let it close behind him, his hooting and hollering still heard even after it sealed shut.
"Hey," Will greeted you, standing up straight and feeling more than tempted to lean down and kiss your lips as he watched them stretch out in that smile that drove him mad. "Benny's just warming up, let's grab a drink."
It was a rowdy crowd tonight, and you felt as if you were buzzing on behalf of the energy in the large room that had a lingering stench of sweat and booze, but you really knew it was all due to the man sitting beside you who kept leaning in to speak in your ear because of how loud everything was.
Each time he did, you felt yourself instinctively tipping your head to the side to open your neck up to him, your eyes closing every time his breath happened to fan over your skin, the sensation making you desperately pray for him to place his lips on you and scratch you with the bleached hairs that surrounded his lips.
The first two fights finished without an ounce of attention paid to them by either of you, and as Will downed what remained in his beer, he leaned close to you again, his eyes slowly moving up from your mouth to your eyes while a seductive smile played on his lips.
"I've gotta go back there now, you gonna be okay?"
"I'll be fine," you assured. "If any of these hillbillies start harassing me I know who to call."
"Damn right," he smirked, his grin crooked on his face, his blue eyes glowing in the dim stage lighting as he placed his hand on your thigh and gave it a firm squeeze.
You watched faithfully as he stood and walked away, admiring how his jeans fit over his ass just as you did with his shorts or track pants at the gym, finding your senseless desire growing for him in a way you were sure you could no longer handle.
Once he was out of sight, you chugged the rest of your beer and smoothed your hands over your hair, willing yourself composure to get through the rest of the night without pouncing on him.
Knowing there would still be a few minutes before Benny's fight, you stood and got in line to grab another beer for you and Will, hoping the alcohol would help settle the frenzy of nerves and arousal taking over you.
Right as you returned to your seat, the announcer came over the sound system, introducing the other fighter and then Benny, making you stand on your toes to look over the taller heads in the crowd in order to see him standing in the doorway with a focused ferocity on his face. Will was close behind him, clapping and nodding as they began walking through the hoard of people split between yelling support and jeers at him.
You couldn't help but smile as you watched Will shamelessly support his younger brother, pumping his arms in the air to help motivate the enthusiasm and encouragement on behalf of Benny, even giving some idiot in the crowd the finger who shouted out an insult as he passed.
His blue eyes locked with yours as he strutted by on route to the the cage, winking at you as his cheeks flinched with each chew on the gum between his teeth, your body once again responding by building that undeniable pressure in your core and making your nipples harden as a shiver of confined pleasure ran down your spine.
Holding your cup to your lips, you slowly sipped, watching Will grip the fencing of the cage with his fingers as he prepped Benny one last time, yelling at him to take it nice and slow. Those words decorated by the tone of his voice had you reeling, imagining him saying that very phrase to you only in a very different context.
Turning toward you while Benny squared up, Will walked the few steps over to where you stood - too excited to sit on the old bleachers - and took the full cup of beer you held in your spare hand, smiling at you appreciatively.
"You good?"
You nodded as you took a sip, catching a stray drip that clung to your lip with the back of your hand, and licked your lips to retrieve the rest, feeling slightly embarrassed but also catching the way Will’s pupils dilated at the sight of moisture hanging implicitly from your mouth.
"How long has he been doing this?" you asked, louder than you normally would in order to be heard over the raucous.
Will raised his eyebrows and blinked as if he was trying to think, like he didn't keep track of everything Benny did too and didn't know the exact amount of years and fights he had supported and helped coach his younger brother through. "This will be his twenty-third match. He's doing a lot more now we stopped actively touring,” he explained, licking his lips and sighing heavily enough for you to see his chest rise and fall sharply. "Let's go, Benny, you've got this!" he shouted rather than continuing his explanation about their work, prompting you to reach your hand up to squeeze his arm reassuringly, feeling his well-honed muscles through his hoodie easily.
Benny won his fight quickly and made it seem completely effortless, his ear to ear smile and prideful cheering bringing out a chuckle from Will as he stepped out of the cage and over to where you both stood, engulfing his brother in a hug where they aggressively slapped each other's backs until they parted.
“I'm proud of you, man,” Will grinned, handing him a towel to wipe the sweat off his face.
“Easiest hundred bucks I've ever made!”
“I'll meet you out back in a bit,” Will nodded while Benny smiled at you and said ‘hey’.
“Nooo rush, brother.”
Benny’s cheeky tone made you bite your lip, happy for him to be encouraging his brother to pursue the things you hoped he would, finding yourself craving more than ever to be in Will’s presence for as long as you could now that you had been given this much.
He turned to you, another crooked grin playing on his lips that would hold you completely unaccountable if you were to reach up and kiss them like you wanted to now.
"I'll walk you to your car," he purred, placing his hand on the small of your back, applying gentle pressure that urged you forward through the dispersing crowd, his masterful way of taking the lead letting that submissive part in your psyche bloom in anticipation.
The air had turned cooler since you were last outside, some of the day's humidity dying out to allow a fresher breeze to dance over your skin, lighting you up with goosebumps that made you hyper-aware of the feel of your clothes laying against it, and how Will's eyes remained locked on you.
Neither of you had said a word since exiting the building, the silence not awkward but rather charged, like both of you were waiting for the other to make the first move, the tension between you palpable.
Will smiled and shook his head, letting out a small chuckle as he leaned against his truck and folded his toned arms across his chest.
"I had fun tonight," you started through your own smile, unable to hold it back when you were looking at his so brightly showing through his blond facial hair. "Thank you for inviting me."
"You're welcome," he said slowly, shifting which leg he was putting more of his weight on. "I'm glad you came."
That phrase shouldn't have done anything to you, normally such an innocent string of words, but the way he said it had you instinctively picking up on any little thing that could be a hint at what he wanted to do to you; your mind torturing you in twisting something to mirror what you craved.
"What will you do with the rest of your night?" he asked, tilting his head slightly to the side.
You sighed, putting your hands in your back pockets and shrugging as you thought.
"Nothing," you said honestly, wondering if your night was about to become a whole lot more exciting.
Will pushed off the side of his truck, standing tall before you.
"Is there something you would like to be doing?"
It was impossible to keep in the surprised laugh that blew out of your lungs, and you licked your lips while trying to come up with an answer that wasn't one that would reveal the truth of what you wished your night would revolve around.
Will took another step toward you, close enough you caught his scent as you inhaled deeply and held that breath in, steeling yourself for what you hoped was the inevitable.
You let your eyes close, feeling him lingering before your face, waiting.
When the pad of his thumb smoothed over your lower lip, you couldn't contain the soft moan that escaped you, and you sucked in another breath only to trap it again.
Breathe, you told yourself, having to think of the mechanics behind how that natural process worked while playing back him coaching you through it at the gym.
Will could barely contain himself, the effort to hold himself back straining every fiber in his body, watching as you completely melted to his miniscule advance, his breathing and heart rate increasing while yours seemed to have paused altogether.
"Breathe," he murmured, more to himself but to you as well, watching your chest rise as you drew in air to your lungs while he did the same.
His gaze fell to his thumb that still rested on your lip, the incredible urge to see what it felt like to brush his against them overwhelming and disrupting what composure he had left.
Your eyes opened, locking in with his, the sight of you standing ready for him forcing him to pull in a long breath that he sighed out slowly through his nose.
"You have to learn to control yourself," he said, "even when it's something you really fucking want."
His speech was more to himself than to you, but when you nodded your head up and down obediently, he knew he would need to work harder than normal to keep himself in line.
"Shutting down basic instincts is hard," he continued, the slight emphasis he put on the last word another blow to your resolve. "To be able to manipulate until you've regained that focus, honing in on what you're supposed to be doing rather than what you need…"
His voice was low, the change in it one even he took note of, and daring himself even further to test his limits, he leaned in closer and hovered beside your ear.
"...And sometimes it's about knowing when it's okay to let yourself lose that control."
Will inhaled deeply as he backed away from you, like he was stepping back from the ledge, his amusement in your expression that displayed such fury and lust making him smirk.
"And are you okay with losing that control?" you asked, bravery embellishing your question.
“I don't ever do anything without thinking it through a hundred times, and believe me when I say I've thought this over even more than that.”
"This?" Your head tipped to the side, your eyes narrowing as your body swelled with a hope of 'this' referring to him taking complete control over the potential of intense pleasure that stood abeyant between you.
He looked at you seriously, the rise of his eyebrows accentuating the creases on his forehead, his eyes widening to prove his point in what he was about to say.
“I want you.”
You swallowed thickly, his admission so point-blank and forward it flooded you with a fresh wave of arousal, your body responding naturally by your nipples pressing almost painfully against the thin lace of your bra while more wetness gathered between your legs to stain your thong.
He looked at you earnestly, his blue eyes displaying so many emotions that you craved to see them hold again and again.
“If I do this with you, I'm going all-in and there will be no stopping, and I'm afraid of letting myself do that after everything that's happened.”
“I trust you, Will,” you said softly, your heart aching for him tenfold, your want for him not diminishing despite his best efforts to make it.
He looked down at the ground, shifting some gravel with his boot.
“Yeah? Well,” he glanced back up at you, peering through those long, blond lashes, “I don't know if I trust myself.”
Will blinked and rubbed his hand along the back of his neck, sighing out as if it was his signal to end the conversation there.
You were tempted to say more, to assure him that none of this or the things he had done would scare you away but didn't want to press him, being understanding to the fact that he had probably gone through more trauma in his life in the military than you could begin to fathom.
A man like Will didn’t come by often; you could be patient.
"See you at the gym tomorrow?" Will asked, interrupting your thoughts.
“Hmm, yeah, I'll be there late, though, I'm working a longer shift.”
“Okay,” he nodded, smiling just enough that the skin around his eyes crinkled.
Feeling slightly guilty that he wasn't giving you what it was clear you needed from him, he took hold of your hand and brought it up to his lips, placing a kiss, and then another one over your knuckles, his resolve starting to fade as he inhaled the scent of your skin and felt your fingers tighten around his.
Breathing deeply and closing his eyes for a moment, his lips lingered there, his beard the perfect combination of soft and rough which only worked to increase your longing to feel it everywhere on your body more than you already did.
“Goodnight,” he eventually spoke, releasing your hand and tucking his own safely in his pockets to help with his temptation to keep touching you.
“‘Night, Will,” you replied, watching as he walked away back to the arena, glancing back at you over his shoulder once before he reached the door.

Late December
Content: 1.6k words of part of a day with your six month old baby and husband Levi.
A/n: Here we go! Not quite holiday, not quite proof read hehe.
Your eyes flutter open as you smile after a nice, long sleep. It's early morning on another weekday later in the year, just after the holidays.
You turn to cuddle your husband but find his side of the bed empty. You frown, but not for long, already knowing where he is.
You get up and put on your robe and head to the nursery, pausing at the door and smiling.
Your husband Levi is sitting in the rocking chair, holding your six month old baby boy on his chest, reading him a story while he naps.
Levi stops mid sentence and smiles warmly when he notices you.
"Morning daddy." You smile back and step inside, coming over to stand by the rocker.
He sighs and rests his head on your side as you play with his hair and reach down to pet your babies cheek.
The little one blinks his eyes sleepily and gets excited when he sees you.
Levi chuckles and hands him over.
"Hi baby! Are you hungry?" You coo at him, kissing his face while he makes happy noises.
"Oh no, your not gonna try the solids again are you?" Levi asks nervously.
You laugh. "Levi, he has to start at some point." Six months is the recommended age to start but you can go later. The past week you've just done a couple spoonfuls a day and so far baby hasn't seemed to enjoy it and wants his bottle.
Both you and Levi thought you'd have a hard time with the process, but it's actually Levi who has instead.
"Yes but, how about next month?" He tries to talk you into waiting a bit longer.
Standing up he holds you close as your baby looks up at you both.
You smile and lean on Levis chest as your perfect little family stands in the nursery.
"I'll let you get away with it today, but tomorrow, we try again." You compromise with Levi about the solids.
He lets out a tiny sigh of relief and takes the baby back from you, holding him up.
"Hear that? We talked mommy into it!" He says with a large smile as baby seems to giggle with him.
You all go to the kitchen and Levi gets the bottle out of the fridge while you start a breakfast for you and him.
Levi sits in the chair and feeds his baby boy, who grabs onto the bottle while Levi holds it.
You've talked about not letting him comfort eat, but at this point it's Levi who needs the reassurance.
"Tea, sweetheart?" You ask as you start a pot and Levi nods.
"Yes please." He says while not looking away from the baby in his arms.
You smile and make some steel oats as well and add fresh fruit. A simple and healthy meal.
Levi finishes feeding and burps the baby and puts him in the high chair, grabbing a couple suction toys to stick on to keep him entertained.
He cleans off and puts the rest of the bottle back in the fridge and helps you finish breakfast, getting plates and tea cups.
Levi kisses your cheek and gently grabs onto your side, making you giggle.
He smiles as you pour the tea and he puts the oatmeal and fruit into the bowls and you sit down together.
You kiss your babies cheek and flick the animal toys.
"Owl." You say as you touch it. "Rabbit." You say as he touches a different one.
He pushes and pulls them and babbles happily.
"It's a nice day for a walk later." Levi says as he eats, and you nod.
"Yes, let's go around the neighborhood." Get some fresh air.
You finish eating and clean together, taking turns getting dressed and change the babies diaper before bundling him up in the blue crocheted onesie and quilted blanket his grandmas made him.
Levi gets his stroller and you put him in and start walking.
People still have their holiday decorations out, and the moving reindeer catches the babies eye the most.
You wave to neighbors and stop to chat with some as kids play on lawns riding bikes and playing tag.
"Oh he's getting so big!" Another husband and wife smile and wave at him as you stop in front of their house.
"He sure is a cutie!" The wife gushes, respecting the distance and not touching him.
"Thank you!" You smile.
You talk a few more minutes while their young children play around and wave to you and Levi.
"How olds the baby now?" The little girl asks, coming up, but not to close.
"Six months now." You tell them.
"Mr Ackerman, come throw the ball with me!" The boy calls to Levi, making all the adults chuckle.
"Okay, but just a couple times!" Levi smiles and runs over out of harms way with the young boy.
"And to think, last year he was afraid of Levi." The wife says, laughing.
It's true, for some reason, some of the neighborhood kids found Levi scary.
But somehow, once finding out he was going to be a dad, whether that made him open up to the idea more of other kids, or they figured if he was going to have a baby he wasn't all bad, he'd become one of the favorite adults on the block.
The husband joins in as the males play and you talk with the wife and daughter a few more minutes.
You hear your baby squeal happily and look to realize snowflakes are landing all around him.
"Oh!" You laugh, as none of you but him had noticed it was beginning to flurry lightly.
"Levi, we should be going!" You call to him, sorry to cut his time short.
"Coming!" He says, handing back the ball before walking up to you.
You say your goodbyes and walk back a little faster, before the weather changes anymore.
The babies hands flail as the flurries melt away before he can do anything, making you and Levi smile.
Once back inside Levi puts the stroller away then helps you get him back into his tiny pajamas and hang his onesie and blanket up to dry from the damp snow.
Baby goes into his crib to take a mid morning nap, the first of a couple. You try to keep him on some sort of schedule most of the time.
You both also change back into something warm, not planning on going anywhere else today.
You're tempted to go back into the nursery to check on the baby but Levi holds your hand and shakes his head.
"He's fine, come on." Baby likes his sleep and will be out a couple of hours.
You let him lead you to the couch where you snuggle against him and watch as the snow comes down a little harder than before.
Levi plays with your hair gently as you both relax.
"Mom wants to drive down to see us soon. She's got presents, she says." He tells you.
"Mine too. Let's have them over next weekend." You know they're presents for the baby, as if he needs anymore. But you love that they both spoil him, and you.
Levi kisses your temple and sighs happily. "I'd like that."
Your moms get along great, sometimes you find they hang out together. Levis mom teaches yours to crochet, while yours teaches his how to quilt. Now they always have something for you. Not to mention all the toys.
But with a growing baby you need updated clothes and toys all the time, so don't mind at all.
They already sent some things, including an automatic swing they swear was free shipping and on sale. You took pictures and made a three way call to thank them. They were already talking about an activity center now that he sits up on his own.
Levi hugs you tight, interrupting your thoughts.
"Thank you love. For being my wife, and making me a father. I love you." He swears he'll never be able to repay you.
You nuzzle his neck, hugging back. "Even when I try to give him solids?" You joke about the babies diet and Levi chuckles, holding you closer.
"I love you too sweetheart. You're everything to me, to us. You have our hearts" You feel his arms tighten around you. You both know he'll never let go.
You both fall asleep for a while in each others arms, waking with the babies schedule, heading back to the nursery to find your little one just getting up as well.
You pick him up and hold him upright in your arms.
"Hello my nugget. You hungry?" He starts in with the happy noises that you take as a yes.
"But no solids." Levi whispers as he walks behind you to the kitchen.
You laugh and turn to him as you get to the kitchen and pull out the bottle.
"I already promised." You remind him, making him settle down.
"Jeez, I can't even imagine what you'll be like when he starts walking." You say playfully. Truthfully, you'll probably be a nevous wreck then too.
"First he has to crawl." Levi won't let you get too far ahead of yourself.
"Yes love." You say, sitting down to feed the baby and continue your afternoon routine.
As Levi hovers close by, and your little boy looks up at you both, you know that many milestones, including crawling, are just around the corner.

Sam’s not sleeping when Dean pulls off the road. “What,” Sam says, although without a lot of interest. State highway after midnight and exactly no one to see, but Dean coasts down the gravel shoulder to the pitted asphalt-and-dirt road that turns off into—sparse woods, a sign that says NO HUNTING. Sam snorts.
“Gotta take five,” Dean says. Sam nods, arms folded over his chest. Shadow-shapes in the dark, his eyes slanted away at some terrible inward thing. Out of the car there’s moonlight peeking through the tree-tops and Dean left the headlights on, so he doesn’t trip and break his neck on his way to water a patch of weeds. He zips up and then stands there, breathing. Dirt and mulch. Kinda acrid now but not any worse than the woods usually are. Not that different from where they’d buried the vampire kid—god, less than six hours ago. Soft dirt there and they’d made a good grave, burned him right, covered the charred bones. Sam hardly looking at him then, too. Like finishing the hunt hurt as much as sitting around thinking about the other dead kid had.
Dean hasn’t got much in his back pocket, when it comes to making Sam feel better. They’ve been doing this so long they’ve got rhythms they follow and he knows that he’s—tough, sometimes, and he can be a real pain, and Sam always seems to have some way to grip Dean by the wrist and pull him up and be solid as mountain rock for Dean to brace against. He doesn’t have a roadmap for when the rock starts to slide under his feet. He can say some of the dumb crap he’d offer to civilians but Sam’s too smart for it to work; he can offer work, or duty if work itself doesn’t do the trick, but Sam’s never felt the pull of that the same way Dean has, and if Dean’s honest he’d be freaked if Sam really bought it. With how Sam’s been talking Dean’d be willing to throw on Steel Magnolias and give him a foot massage if he thought it’d help, but it wouldn’t, and he doesn’t have much left to offer, to try to make it—not fixed. Fixing it isn’t something he’s been able to do since he was five years old and everything went wrong. But maybe it could be—
He comes back to the car and opens the trunk, instead. Then to the passenger side, where he opens Sam’s door, and Sam looks up at him narrow-eyed but not frowning. Tired. Sad, which makes Dean’s throat do something weird, and he clears it before he says, rougher than he means, “You gotta piss or anything?”
“No,” Sam says, tilting it like Dean’s the weird one. Well, fair enough.
Dean nods. He twists the cap on the bottle he fetched and takes a long burning swallow. Sam shakes his head when Dean holds it out but Dean waggles it at him, and Sam’s not yet so oatmeal-hippie-health conscious that he won’t have a drink with Dean on the wrong side of dawn. His lips pull back like it stings. “Good value for fifteen bucks,” Dean says, and Sam raises his eyebrows, and Dean crouches then in the open door, puts his hand on Sam’s leg. Curling his fingers around the inside of Sam’s knee.
They’ve been doing this so long, they’ve got rhythms. Sam’s chin tips down. “I don’t…” he starts, but he bites his lip and breathes in long and slow through his nose and Dean doesn’t know what he would say, anyway. That it was too fucked up, that he missed all the people they’d lost, that the dark was so heavy it had this velvet choking intensity, so bleak no light could ever get through. Pick a number.
But Dean’s left the headlights on. He pulls, and Sam swivels on the seat so his bootheels crunch in the gravel, and Dean settles down on his knees and reaches up and puts his hand on Sam’s face, and watches Sam close his eyes. His jaw clenching. Stubble thick and sharp and his face as hollow as it was when Jack—when—
Dean unbuckles Sam’s belt. The button, the zip, and once he smacks Sam’s hip he lifts up enough so Dean can yank everything down. He’s soft but so what. Dean’s worked with worse. He spreads his hands over Sam’s bare thighs, hair prickling in the autumn air, licks his mouth wet, and when he takes Sam in it’s—everything familiar, good. Gravel biting into his knees through his jeans. He tongues under the soft ridge of the head, breathes through his nose. The rarity of getting to go down to the base without choking, suckling soft, salt under his tongue and the bitter of a long day and Sam’s fingers sliding through his hair, holding the back of his neck so careful. Like Dean will get hurt, doing this thing he’s been doing as long as his life has been worth anything. Like Dean’s doing Sam a favor, here, when he’s split halfway between wanting Sam to stop thinking and wanting his own brain blank as a snowfield.
A weird strangled breath, above. Dean slurps back and kisses Sam’s hipbone, and drags his shirt up and kisses his belly, hair prickling his lips. “Let me,” he says, asking for—a lot, maybe—and Sam doesn’t say anything but his thumb drags up into the soft hollow at the top of Dean’s spine and his thighs tip wider. Dean presses his forehead to Sam’s stomach. Weirdly grateful, in a way he can’t ever say aloud. This one good thing. Then he pushes Sam to sprawl back across the bench seat, and holds Sam’s hips in his hands, and takes his brother into his throat.

Hold on…
What if RWBY just find Jaunes broken blade and assume the worst? A broken weapon around Cinder is never a good sign.
When they find it, they’re not quite sure what they’re looking at.
Everything in the Ever After seems halfway between two states of being at all time. Half of the trees are rocks just pretending. A crystal cliff they’d been walking towards for an hour turned out to be a facade as flimsy as tissue paper in a hurricane.
So when they see the light of twin suns reflect in a sliver of silver they think nothing of it.
It catches Blake’s eye first, distracted from her flirting by a quivering spot of technicolor light dancing on the dirt path in front of her. Her eyes trace it and flick up to where a light glints and reflects from a point high in a multicolored tree.
There’s something familiar about what Blake’s looking at, and without realizing her steps slow. This brings Yang’s jokes screeching to a halt as her voice raises in a question. Feline ears flick uncertainly, and before long Weiss and Ruby join them.
A discussion fills the air, debating, arguing.
Is it a distraction, meant to keep them from continuing down Alyx’s path? Is it a trap, as so many things in this world seem to be? It’s familiar in a way none of them can put their fingers on, but if their brief stay in the Ever After has taught them anything, it’s taught them caution.
The little mouse pays no heed to their worries, only hearing the group’s interest in the object. They scurry down Ruby and up the tree and dislodge the shiny thing without a moment’s hesitation.
It tumbles through the air with a metallic shing, landing unceremoniously in a pile of multicolored maple leaves.
The girls jump, most of them with hands halfway to weapons, before they realize there’s nothing to see.
It’s a sword. Not even a mechanized one like most blade-wielding Huntsmen have. Just a simple longsword.
With gold inlay that swirls along the steel in a way that pulls at them. The shattered steel, what’s left of the tip stained crimson with blood.
It’s Weiss who first realizes what they’re looking at, and her face goes the color of old oatmeal. Sickly pale and faint, drained of all vitality.
She dashes forward, heedless of her friends calling for her or how the Ever After might thrust her back onto the path. Because if this sword is here then that means-
Ruby crouches at Weiss’s side, Little once again safely in the folds of her cape. Her partner’s eyes have more life in them than they have since she found out Penny died again. How she wishes that it wasn’t from fear for their friend’s life.
There’s blood on the blade, and when Blake points it out with a tremor in her voice, Weiss can’t bring herself to explain. By her count, Penny’s blood has been on this blade longer than the full length of time the fluid was pulsing through her veins.
All of their eyes linger on the blood. On the shattered sword and what it could mean. Blake’s hand wraps tight around the gold stripe in Gambol Shroud.
A Huntsman’s weapon is imbued with the strength of his self. An extension of his soul. The sword blade is shattered, as cruel as a caress.
Weiss thought he was safe in Vacuo. Hopefully with the Relics, but at least safe. At least alive. “Is Jaune…? You don’t think he…?” Yang’s unfinished question goes unanswered.
Because if his sword is here, then where is Jaune Arc?

Summary: Y/n is the younger sister of Daryl Dixon. Y/n was more like her brother Daryl than she was her brother merle. Well, that is unless she's angry. Then she has the mouth and anger of Merle Dixon himself. Y/n first met Gleen at the quarry. That's where there friendship first grew and continued to grow through the post-apocolypes.
Tumblr media
Y/n woke up to the sound of the birds singing and the sound of a few people moving around in the camp early in the morning. Y/n was usually one of the first to wake up. Y/n quietly striped out of her pajamas (an oversize t-shirt and booty shorts) she put on her white spaghetti strap tank top on and her light wash blue jeans and her steel toe boots. Fixing her belt through the loops and then her gun holster.
Y/n walked out of her tent. Daryl already awake poking the fire keeping the embers going. "Morning." Y/n says as she streches her hands over head. "Morning, did ya sleep good?" Daryl asks as he points to her horrible bed head. "I guess as much as one can during the apocolypse." Y/n says as she tries to calm her unruly hair. Running her hands through it wasn't doing much so she just pulled into a bun to deal with it later on.
"You need a shower." Y/n says as she gets a whiff of Daryl as she leans down to give him a hug. "Dirty balls Daryl you need a bath." Y/n jokes using his nickname Y/n gave him at the start of the apocolpyse. "speak for yourself, I smelt you when you rolled over this morning. When's the last time you showered?" Y/n giggled at him, and smacked him playfully on the back. "I took a bath in the quarry yesterday. And I plan on getting another one later on. I found some good smelling soaps on a run the other day. I also found some "manly" smelling soaps so that your ass would smell better. I suggest you use them." Y/n says as she walks off up the hill away from their spot from the quarry up to the group.
Y/n looks around to see Carol starting on breakfast. Grits and oatmeal enough for the whole group to have a good serving size.
"Good mornin' miss carol." Y/n greets the older woman with a warm smile. "How did you sleep?" Y/n asks as carol continued to hold her head down. "Carol?" Y/n repeats as she lowers herself to try to meet carols eyes. "Did he hurt you again?" Y/n asks as she sees the purple bruises appearing on her face and eye. "I'll kill him. Carol, you don't deserve no man beating up on you. Nobody deserves anyone beating up on 'em." Y/n says as she watches Carol start crying. "You can't he'll kill me. He'll hurt my baby girl." Carol begs Y/n not to do anything. Y/n shakes her but respects Carol. "Carol, I respect you, but if I ever see with my own eyes that man lay a hand on you.. He will meet his maker." Y/n promises Carol.
It was triggering for Y/n to see the bruises on Carol. Y/n and her brothers knew all too well about abusive people. Y/n just felt the anger she felt for her abusive father for Carols husband.
"Carol, it wouldn't be the first time I killed someone for being abusive." She says lowly just for carol to hear.
Carol looked up at Y/n shocked. "My father, he use to beat us. Me and my brothers." Y/n started and immediately carol felt horrible.
"Now, I ain't telling you this to feel horrible about this. I don't see myself as a victim. I am a survivor and so are you Carol! You don't have to stand by an abusive man Ever! The first time he laid hands on you, you should've cracked him over the head with a baseball bat." Y/n continues her little rant. Trying to give Carol the hope of a brighter future.
"If he hits me again." She nods, telling Y/n it would be okay. "You have to do it humainly. Don't make him suffer." Y/n shakes her head at carol. "After all these times he has beat you, darlin. And you still are loyal to him? Enough to have him die peacfully? You are one hell of a woman." Y/n says with a smile.
Y/n finishes the conversation as Sofia and Carl walks up to the two of them. Y/n says a polite good morning as she leaves them to it. Walking over to the laundry line grabbing her and her brother clothes. Folding them and placing them in a basket to take down to their camp. Folding the rest of the clothes that were on the line and putting them in piles on a picnic table.
"Good morning, beautiful." Glenn says as he kisses the back of Y/ns head. Y/n smiles as she turns to greet  her boyfriend. "Mornin'" She greets back giving him a peck on the lips quickly, not one for much PDA.
"What do you have plan for the day?" Y/n asks as she continues to fold laundry. "I was going to ask you if you wanted to go on a run today. We're a little low on our medical supplies and there is a pharmacy in the next town over about 20 miles from here. I figured since you were a nurse you would know what the best stuff to get would be." Glenn explains as he helps her fold clothes.
"Sure, it's a date." She says kissing him and then walking off to deliever everyones clothes to their tents. Glenn smiles as he watches Y/n walk away a little more pep in her step. Happy she gets to be alone with her boyfriend for the day.
"Daryl!" Y/n calls out as she puts their clothes away in their bags. Daryl was long gone to hunt. And Y/n shook her head with a smile. Daryl the one who was to himself all the time proclaimed he didn't care much about the group, but he always was providing for them. Y/n looks in her book bag grabbing pen and paper leaving a note that she will be back this evening that she was going on a run with Glenn. It's probably a good thing that Daryl and merle were gone hunting. They'd be picking at Y/n saying that she won't going on no run. Probably just going to fuck once they're gone out of sight of the camp. Which was kinda sorta true. But they always get what they need before they do it. (lol)
Y/n grabbed her knives. looping one through her belt the other slipped into her boot. Y/n grabbed an empty book bag and started making her way back towards where Glenn was waiting at the jeep looking at the map remembering the routes they were going to take.
"You two love birds be careful. We can't lose our best runners." Shane says with a teasing smile. "You ain't gonna lose us. We are just going to a pharmacy and picking up a few things the camp needs. There is a grocery store right beside the pharmacy we can hit up. Find can goods, flour, sugar, rice, penut butter. Anything we can find for the camp." Y/n explains as she looks at the map. "Hey, Y/n make sure you find condoms." Shane jokes as he playfully slaps glenns back. "Why for you?" Y/n says quietly with a smirk on her face. Glenn snorts at the shocked look on Shanes face. "Y'all ain't as sneaky as ya thought."
After that Y/n and Glenn got into a '98 chevrolet pick up truck. Y/n riding shot gun and glenn driving. Y/n held the map and told glenn where to turn.
Y/n loved to get out of the camp and go exploring the outside world. "Do you really think Lori and Shane are fucking?" Glenn says after they drive away from the camp. Y/n giggled as she looked at glenn with a funny look. "Why else would the two never be around at the same time? I mean when Lori leave shanes following like a horny dog right behind after a few minutes. They're aren't very discreet." Y/n says with a giggle in her voice. She lays her head on Gleens shoulder. Glenn throws his arm around her shoulder allowing her to scoot closer.
"Yeah, I guess i just thought they would be more discreet. You know, not doing it in the middle of the day, but maybe sneak out at night time and do it when nobdy was awake." Glenn says with a laugh following behind it.
They drive went smoothly, not running into many walkers on the road. It seemed like an average day. The only things on the road were abandon cars and a few stray cats.
Y/n enjoyed looking at the window. The summer sun beating down on the Green chevy truck. "Maybe we can find the kids some toys while were out. Carl lost one of them the other week. I bet you he lost it down at the quarry when Shane was trying to help him catch frogs." Y/n says as she studies the map. "Yeah that would be nice. They always seem to get board of the same toys and books." Glenn agrees.
Eventually, they pull up outside of the pharmacy. It looked untouched from the outside. None of the windows broken the door still standing shut and locked. Y/n grabbed her lock picking kit from her bag and they jumped out the truck.
Y/n picked the lock as glenn rounded the building looking for any creepy crawlies. "I think the coast is clear. Must be our lucky day." Glenn says as he comes around the building back to Y/n. Y/n pushes the door open. Putting the lock picking kit in her back pocket. "Well, lets hope there's no alarm in here." Y/n says as they walk in. Both of them guns drawed with a knife in the other hand.
Y/n went right Glenn went left both sweeping through the pharmacy. "Clear." Y/n says as they meet at the back of the store. "Alright, grab anything you see. Bandaids, gauze, disinfected products. Anything to deal with wounds. I'll go in behind the desk and get the pharmaceuticals."
"What size condoms do you think Shane needs. Extra small?" Glenn jokes. Y/n bellows out a laugh and says "maybe an extra extra small." Glenn and Y/n loved to joke around.
It seemed like Glenns optimism has rubbed off on Y/n. Ever since the two of the got together they have become so close and Y/n finally has hope in the world. Y/n has become more free spirited.
Y/n packs the bags full of antibiotics and other medicines. She was thankful at the time to have gone into nursing. She's glad that she has the education to know what to get and what's needed. Y/n grabbed all that she knew they could use she bagged.
"Hey, babe! I'm done did you get what we needed?" Y/n asks as she climbs over the desk to get back over to glenn. "Yeah, I'm just trying to get female products for the women at camp." Y/n looks at the shelf grabbing a diffrent variety of tampons, pads, and diffrent menstrual products. "We really hit the jackpot. This place literally hasn't been touched." Glenn says as he looks at both of their bags full to the brim.
Y/n and glenn left the  pharmacy on their way to the grocery store next to it. This Y/n didn't have much hope of what they'd find. She didn't know if it would be walker infested or not. But she tried to stay hopeful.
"Alright, I think the best way to go through this one is to stay together. We shouldn't seperate. This store is a lot bigger then the pharmacy." Glenn says. Grabbing a duffle bag. Y/n nodded as she grabbed another bag as well.
Y/n and glenn got out the truck quietly. The waited at the door and banged on the window. waiting for the walkers to come up to the door. Y/n grabbed her knife. They opened the door. Letting one out at the time killing them and continuing doing that until all the walkers were dead.
Y/n and glenn carefully enter the store. Y/n grabs a shopping cart and they start to walk through the store. They grab all the food they can find. They grab all the can food and non perishables they could find.
Y/n found a few kid toys on one else. Not big toys just some small fidget stuff that just entertain kids. Y/n and Glenn were about to walk out of the store when they heard something or someone come in.
"Do you hear that?" Y/n asks quietly trying to figure out whether it was human or not. Glenn holds up his gun placing a finger over his lips silently telling Y/n to stay quiet. He walked to the end of the isle to see a group of walkers making their way in. At least twenty of them. Y/n sees them and starts to get nervous. 20 vs 2. What are the odds?
"We can handle them we just kill them with knives until it gets too much." Glenn says as calmly as he can.
Y/n pulls out her large hunting knife. The first few  walker rounds the corner and Y/n and Glenn stab them quickly. Continuing their little rhythm together.
Y/n and Glenn finished off the walkers one at a time. Y/n and Glenn were bloody and gross. "Can I be weird for a second?" Y/n asks looking at Glenn with loving eyes.
He nodded wiping his knife off on a walkers clothes. "You look hot killing Walkers." She says with a smirk. He smirks back as he puts his knife away. Leaning in giving her a kiss. Y/n smiled into the kiss deepening it. Glenn taps Y/ns hip telling her to jump. Y/n does as told wrapping her legs around his waist as he holds her up. Walking over to the counter letting y/n sit there as they continue to make out.
"You know we did get those pack of condoms." Y/n mumbles as she continues kissing his neck as he starts to take her shirt off along with his.
Glenn smiles as he reaches into his pocket holding up a golden wrapper. "Already prepared." He smirks. Glenn create hickeys and love bites down her neck and chest.
"Glenn." Y/n moans quietly looking through her eyelashes up to Glenn. Y/n works on his belt as he does the same to her. you know what happens after that.
---
Y/n and Glenn put their clothes back on. Fixing themselves and grabbing their stuff and headed to the truck. Y/n puts all the shopping items into the bed of the truck emptying the shopping cart.
Y/n and glenn drive back to camp. Everyone was happy to see the truck full of groceries and medicine.
"I can't believe you found all this food and medicine." Carol and lori say at the same time. "We really hit the jackpot." Y/n says with a smile. Y/n grabs a special bag and gave it to shane. "Don't want no little ones running around." She smirks saying the same thing the group has said to Y/n and Glenn when they first got together.

[Read on AO3]
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
She woke up the next morning and instantly regretted it. A pounding headache and dry mouth greeted her with reminders of how much she drank the night before. She dragged herself to the bathroom, pointedly ignoring the masked man happily humming on the other side of the room. How the fuck was he so cheery? She felt like she’d been run over by a truck.
She leant over the sink and splashed cold water on her face, staring into the mirror with bleary hungover eyes.
I am never drinking again.
It was a blatant lie, the same thing she said to herself after every hangover. It never stuck but she found comfort in the little routine, berating herself for embarrassing decisions took some of the edge off. And fuck, was last night embarrassing. Embarrassing, inappropriate, unprofessional…
…super fucking hot.
She shook her head again and splashed more water on her cheeks, groaning at her slowly slipping self-control. There wasn’t time for this kind of thing, there was work to do. She quickly got dressed, took a deep breath and steeled herself for another day.
She exited the bathroom and made her way back over to the beds. She quickly picked up the bowls from the nightstand and started to walk back across the room to prepare breakfast.
“Um, do you have anything that isn’t oatmeal?” Vigilante hesitantly piped up, sitting up on his bed and watching her with the bowls.
She chuckled, moved back to her bed and set the bowls back down. “Not into another morning of maple?”
He shook his head at her as she started rummaging through her pack. “Alright, I’ve got granola bars and some apples.” She stood back up with the items in her hand and offered them to him.
He got up and grabbed a chocolate chip granola bar and an apple before moving over and sitting down on the couch. “Thanks. Do you always have so many snacks?”
She sat down next to him and unwrapped a granola bar. “Yeah, I’m pretty much always on the move so I got used to taking food everywhere with me.”
He nodded. “Makes sense. It’s really useful.” He rolled up his mask and smiled at her before taking a bite of the shiny red apple. She couldn’t help but watch as his incisors tore into the fruit, shredding the ripe flesh between his teeth.
Oh, come on! It’s too early for this.
She forced herself to avert her gaze and pulled out her phone instead, deciding to flip through her camera roll and ignore him.
“Whatcha looking at?” His muffled voice rang out through a mouthful of apple bits.
She rolled her eyes. “Don’t talk with your mouth full! I’m looking at the photos from the farmhouse.” She sighed and scrunched up her face in concentration on the images. “There’s something we’re missing, I know it. I just need to figure out what.”
He made sure he had chewed and swallowed before responding to her. “Can I take a look?”
“Go ahead.” She shrugged and handed him the phone. “It just doesn’t make sense. Absolutely no one could be living in that place, but half a dozen people came out of nowhere.” She groaned in annoyance and balled up her granola bar wrapper, throwing it on the coffee table with more force than necessary.
He didn’t respond, intently focused on the pictures of the various rooms inside the farmhouse. They sat silently for a few moments while Vig scrolled through the images. Suddenly, he turned towards her with another smile.
“There.”
He handed back the device and pointed to the left corner. On the screen was the kitchen area of the building. It had scratched flooring and chipped counters wall to wall, with broken pipes and rusted appliances scattered around. She looked carefully at the corner Vigilante was pointing to but she didn’t see anything unusual.
“There what? What am I looking for?”
He leaned in and tapped the screen again in the lower corner. “Look at the floorboards.” She squinted at the zoomed-in floor. In the back corner, there was a large chunk of crown moulding missing and a dark gap between the edge of the wall and the floor.
“Okay? There’s …a hole?” She was still confused.
“Back at the Goff mansion, Peacemaker and I ended up in this weird sub-basement. It was dug out underground.” Vigilante explained. “Butterflies are insects, right? I think they like to burrow.”
Her eyes lit up with understanding. “There’s something under the house!”
He nodded and grinned at her. “Exactly.”
“This might be what we’ve been missing the whole time. Come on!” She leapt off the couch and rushed over to her gear bag. “Let’s go check this out.”
Vig tossed his apple core in the garbage and grabbed his own bags. They both quickly headed out to the car and drove the short distance to the farmhouse. She was giddy with excitement at the possible discovery, hopeful it would explain what the fuck was happening out here.
She was the first one in the house this time, making sure it was still empty and undisturbed from their last visit the day before. Vigilante followed her in and they made their way to the kitchen to inspect that gap in the floorboards. He leaned down and closely examined the missing moulding and cracked floor before straightening up.
“There’s definitely something under here, give me a hand?”
She leaned down next to him and they both pried at the flooring. Several pieces pulled away and exposed the edge of a wooden plank stuck underneath. They worked together to pull more pieces away and slowly uncovered the full plank, revealing it to be a hatch with a metal pull ring in the center. Vig kicked away some of the debris from the corner, trying to clear a path around the edges.
She was briefly distracted by the fact he was using his right foot. “Hey, you’re not limping anymore? Is your foot okay?”
He looked over at her and then down at his right foot. “Oh! Yeah, it’s all better now.” She raised an eyebrow at him suspiciously and he tried to reassure her. “Seriously, it’s fine. I barely even notice it anymore.”
it wasn’t the right moment for this conversation so she let it slide, filing it away under the ‘weird Vigilante things’ mental folder she’d been slowly compiling the whole trip. Focusing back on the hatch, they finally got it free and were able to tug it open. The hatch revealed a ladder that descended into pitch-black darkness deep underneath the house.
“Holy shit, you were right.” She gave him an incredulous look before staring down into the dark pit.
“I’ll go first.” Vig was already stepping down onto the ladder while fishing out a flashlight from his utility belt.
“Be careful.”
He nodded at her before continuing on his descent, the torch lighting up the way down. After a minute or so she heard him hit the bottom and call up to her it was safe. She took a deep breath and started climbing down after him, grateful for the light he was shining for her.
When she reached the bottom, she steadied herself and tried to look around but the darkness enveloped everything outside the torch’s range. Vigilante was swinging the light around, looking for something.
“Here we go!” He exclaimed and lights flooded the area.
He had found a switch and dozens of overhead lamps all flickered on simultaneously, giving them a fully lit view of the space. She spun around, taking in the strange environment as best she could. It looked to be a large cavern, dug straight into the ground with strategically placed supports and beams holding it together.
“Stay close, we don’t know how deep this place goes.” He cautioned her and she agreed. Burrowing was definitely the correct word for this place, it was like a maze of tunnels. The hallways were wide enough for them to walk side by side as they explored the underground base. There were over a dozen long tunnels all connected with twists and turns through the space. Knocked-over crates, empty glass jars and several industrial hand trucks littered the floors and corners but she didn’t see anything else.
She tried to keep track of where there were going but quickly got turned around, everything looked the damn same. …except for that one.
“Hey, look!” She grabbed his arm and pointed to her left. She had spotted another ladder, different than the one they had climbed down initially. She tugged him over towards it and looked up, seeing another wooden hatch at the top.
Without a word, Vigilante grabbed onto the ladder and started the climb.
“Be careful, you don’t know what’s up there!” She called up to him as he pushed open the hatch and poked his head through.
“Oh, fuck!” Vig yelled out and ducked down, quickly closing the hatch behind him and racing back down the ladder.
“What happened? Are you ok?”
He was coughing and trying to take deep breaths through his mask. “It leads to that pasture I shot all the Butterflies in. The bodies are still there.” He gagged again. “Out in this heat, it’s fucking disgusting.”
She grimaced in sympathy, having dealt with her share of corpses before. She grabbed one of the crates laying around and turned it over so they could both sit down.
“What the fuck is this place?” She sighed. There was so much new information from their discovery but she was still confused. These tunnels were clearly how they got all those people into the house without anyone seeing them. But what for?
“Why would they drive to the pasture if they had these tunnels?” She closed her eyes and tried to remember exactly what had happened the other day. Seven people had come out, gotten in the truck and driven to the pasture. Then they…what did they do? Before Vig shot them, they did something. What was it?
She was interrupted from her thoughts by Vigilante suddenly shoving her off the crate.
“Hey! What the fu-” She started to yell at him but she quickly shut up as he kicked the crate over and reached inside. He pulled out what looked to be a clipboard that had been stuck in one of the broken slats on the crate. Flipping it over, he held it out so they could both see it. Big bold letters marked the top of the page clipped to the board.
GLEN TAI BOTTLING COMPANY - DELIVERY INVOICE
The words stared back at her. What was Glen Tai? Deliveries?
“The bottles.” Vig spoke quietly and she turned to look at him. “They’re transporting crates of those glass jars with liquid inside them.”
That was what the Butterflies were doing in the pasture, she remembered now. They pulled jars out of a crate and ingested something from them. She looked around at all the tunnels surrounding them, at all the broken crates and jars on the ground.
“This is a food transport system.”
She understood now. Well, as much as she understood anything to do with the Butterflys currently. What she did know was they weren’t fully human, they needed this liquid and they were definitely using these tunnels to distribute it.
She looked over at Vig and he was staring down at the clipboard still.
“There’s a delivery scheduled for tomorrow.” He handed her the invoice and she quickly scanned the page. It looked like they had regular deliveries to this area, coming in and out through the farmhouse and god knows where else through these tunnels. Lucky for them, there was a drop-off listed for the following afternoon.
“Well, then I guess we’ll have to come visit them tomorrow!” She sounded chipper at the thought.
Vigilante cocked his head to the side in confusion. “And do what?”
She looked at him with a grin. “And kill every single last one of them.”
They raced back through the tunnels, only getting lost twice which felt like an accomplishment. Surfacing in the dilapidated farmhouse they quickly headed back to the Sebring.
He stopped before opening the car door and turned towards her. “Hey, I know we didn’t kill anyone today but can we still get pizza?”
She thought for a moment, then smiled at him. “Okay, sure. Finding that hatch was a stroke of genius so I’ll agree to a victory pizza. Same toppings as last time?”
Vigilante nodded happily as they hopped in and he pulled the car onto the main road, heading toward the town. A short stop at the pizza place and they were back in the motel enjoying the hot pepperoni and mushroom goodness.
They ate mostly in silence, deeply engrossed in the food after a long day exploring weird caves. It was a comfortable silence, they were both trying to understand exactly what was happening down there and what would go down tomorrow.
She eyed the pizza sitting on the coffee table. She knew she had finished her half of the pizza but there was one slice left in the box, taunting her. He wouldn’t mind, right? It was just one slice. She reached over and quickly snagged it out of the box, consequences be damned.
“Hey, that was mine!” She glanced over at the outburst, his outrage at her thievery evident. She raised the slice to her mouth in defiance but froze when she saw the deadly serious look on his face. His jaw was clenched and his eyes narrowed behind the red visor glass, staring her down.
Oh shit.
She leapt up from the couch and tried to quickly move the slice in her hand far away from him before he pounced. Unfortunately, he was faster than her and managed to snake his arms around her waist, pulling her back into him and preventing her escape.
"Stealing is a crime you know!" He growled in her ear.
She froze again, completely distracted by how he was pressed into her and holding her firmly in place against him. She could feel the heat from his body radiating through his t-shirt as he tugged her into his solid grip.
He slid one arm out to grab her elbow and pull her arm back towards him, trying to maneuver the pizza slice into his open mouth for a bite. She quickly realized his intentions and twisted away, trying to break his grip at the last second. He refused to let her go and was pulled forward, sinking his teeth into her shoulder instead of the pizza.
He stilled immediately, teeth still clamped onto her skin. He expected to be met with the usual 'No biting!' like Peacemaker always yelled, or at least some sort of angry response. Instead, she reacted by arching into him with a barely disguised whimper escaping from the back of her throat. Surprised, he slowly released her shoulder from the clutch of his teeth.
She immediately started to yell at him, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment. "What the fuck!"
"I was aiming for the food!"
"Well, you fucking missed!" She hissed, renewing her struggle against his hold.
He wrapped his free arm back around her ribs and forced her to hold still while he leaned in, muttering lowly in her ear. "...did you enjoy that?"
“Dude, what the hell!” She protested strongly, this was not a conversation she wanted to have right now.
“What? It sure sounded like it, I want to know.”
She flailed even harder against him trying to get away. “Just let me go!”
"Nuh-uh." He chastised her attempt and gripped her even harder, pulling her tight against his chest. "Food for your freedom, those are the terms."
"I don't negotiate with terrorists!" All her efforts to break out of his hold were futile, but she was hoping the movement would help disguise just how hard she was breathing.
"Is this you being terrorized?" He laughed right by her ear, his breath ghosting against the cool streak of saliva still decorating the imprint he left on her shoulder. Shivers raced down her spine at the sudden sensation and she stopped struggling, still trapped in his arms.
"How about this, give me the pizza and I'll bite you again." He stated plainly, in that cursed nonchalant tone.
"Don't you mean or? Like a threat?"
"Nope."
She could practically hear the grin on his face widen.
Oh goddammit.
If he hadn’t been holding her up, she’s certain she would have fallen on the floor with how quickly her knees are turning to jelly. She needed this to stop before she made a mistake.
“Don’t. Just take it.” She mumbled and raised the slice in her hand back towards him without looking, then went limp in his arms. “Please let me go now.”
He immediately dropped his grasp on her and slowly took the piece of pizza. She stepped away, trying to put as much distance between them as she could. He frowned, watching her practically run away from him.
“Hey. I was just teasing, you didn’t have t-”
She cut him off with a shake of her head. “It’s your slice! I just don’t feel well, still kind of hungover.”
He relaxed a little but still looked at her warily.  “Do you need anything?”
“Um, water maybe?” She was surprised at his offer but she was in fact thirsty.
He nodded and walked over to the nightstand, grabbing one of the leftover glasses from the previous evening with one hand while he munched on his recovered slice of pizza. He filled the glass with water from the tap and brought it out to her.
“Thanks.” She sipped the water slowly. There was a moment of silence between them, broken up only by Vig chewing the last few bites of the food.
Eventually, she broke the slightly tense atmosphere with a question she thought would distract him. “So, for tomorrow. What kind of firepower do you think we’ll need?”
She was correct, he jumped at the question and spent the next few hours going through every single weapon the two of them had brought. She bit her tongue and let him pick up each and every blade in her cases, listening as he explained exactly how he would use each one in their mission tomorrow. He wanted to bring everything, who knows what they would need? She cautiously reminded him they couldn’t carry all of that down with them and that they needed to prioritize.
“You can’t bring thirty-seven blades with you Vig. You only have two hands, come on.”
“But they’re all different!” He whined. “What if we need a specific knife and you didn’t let me bring it and then the whole thing goes to shit and we both die? What then!”
She crossed her arms. “We are not going to die because I didn’t let you bring both a four-inch and a six-inch model of the same damn knife.”
“You don’t know that!”
“The great and talented Vigilante, taken down because of a slightly too short knife?” She raised an eyebrow at him and grinned. “I thought you were better than that.”
He scowled at her, easily rising to the bait. “It wouldn't be my fault, it would be yours but fine! I’ll just have to use my awesome skills to compensate for your unreasonably limited weapon choices.”
She rolled her eyes as she packed away the ten knives she had allowed him to select from her collection. He did have decent taste, the selection contained several of her favourites. She placed them in her large duffel bag next to the stash of guns, ammo and adhesive explosives that Task Force X had included in their gear. Those would be coming in especially handy for tomorrow.
Vig called out to her after she had finished with the gear. “Get some sleep, you’ll need it.”
She gave him a small smile as thanks, flicked off the lights and crawled into bed. Before she closed her eyes and drifted off, she gently ran a finger over the small mark on her shoulder and thought about the man across the room responsible for it. She just had to survive one more night with him.
Just one more night.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
A/N: These two, I swear to god. Idiots, the both of them lol. Just one night left! Let me know what you think so far :)

I need more content of flirty belos. literally anything is good at this point; this peepaw is corny and he knows it
Connecticut Hotties
The elderly women of the Connecticut Hotties bingo club were all participating in a regular round of bingo at Linda's house, an activity they usually engage in every Friday afternoon.
Linda was the club's president.
Denise, the game's caller, slowly grabs a ball from the rotary cage.
She adjusts her glasses and leans in, squinting at the number on the ball.
"B-18," she reads out loud to everyone, which causes the other women to gaze at their scoreboards to see if they have that letter and number.
Suddenly, a knock is heard, making the members of the club shift their attention to the front door.
"I'll get it," Linda said as she stood up and walked to her door.
When she opened it, her eyes immediately glittered at the gi//lf who stood before her doorstep.
That gi//lf was a disheveled Belos who had just entered the Human Realm.
His somewhat perplexed expression said it all: he needed the guidance of another fellow human.
"Excuse me, madam," Belos began, his voice so soft and polite that Linda internally melted from the tone.
She couldn't resist getting lost in his blue eyes as he went on. "But do you have--"
"Yes!"
Her immediate reply caught the man who she had just met off guard. "Oh? But I--"
"Please, just come in. I insist," she said, eagerly gesturing for Belos to step inside her home, in which he did.
Once he was inside, Linda, still standing at the door, released a series of soft cheers.
"Eeee, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!" she beamed, before looking up to the sky and pressing her hands together, her fingers pointed upwards.
"Thank you," she mouthed and proceeded to close the door.
She thanked the Lord that she was still single.
...
"... B-24," Denise read the number and letter ball that had rolled down the small steel slide of the bingo spinner in a lovestruck tone.
This caused Philip, who was now at the table with the women of the Connecticut Hotties bingo club gathered around him, to pick up a bingo chip and scan his scoreboard for the letter-number combination.
One member was massaging his shoulders while another gently fanned him with a fan.
When Linda introduced him to them and he told them his name, they were all immediately captivated by his charms, confidence, and flirtatious compliments towards them.
He was truly a gentleman.
"It's right there," one member whispered to him as she pointed at the square he needed to win.
Philip hummed. "I can see that," he gently said, which made the member giggle.
Once Philip placed his chip on the B-24 square, the Connecticut Hotties noticed the five chips in a row on his scoreboard.
They gasp.
"BINGO!" The members all cheered in unison.
For someone who had claimed to have never played bingo before in his life, they all found Philip to be an incredibly skilled and fast learner when they taught him the rules of the game.
When Linda returned to the table, she pushed Philip's score sheet aside and set a plate of oatmeal raisin cookies and a glass of prune juice down in front of him.
"For the winner," she giggled.
"Thank you," Philip calmly said, expressing genuine kindness in his voice as he took the cup and lifted it to his lips.
Observing the smitten stares from the corner of his eye, Philip sent the women a single wink, which caused all of them to instantly faint.
He chuckled, taking a sip of his prune juice.
Philip was going to love it here.

Buying steel cut oats instead of rolled oats has been such a game changer. They cook much slower if you're making oatmeal out of them but if you're eating them uncooked it's so much crunchier and I love it!
Barley is another grain to keep an eye out for in the grocery store, too, if you're looking for more horse-y foods. It has a much different flavor and it cooks just like oatmeal too.

A Quick Study
Tumblr media
Thank you to @tveitertotwrites for the suggestion: Any pairing, Cooking from this ask. I wanted to explore this with another pairing, too. And, once again, I completely ignored the 100-word thing... who was I trying to kid? lol
Book: Open Heart (Prequel - MC's Med School Years) Pairing: Casey MacTavish (F!MC) x Jessica Phillips (F!OC) Rating: Teen Words: 719 Summary: Casey's a little hangry during their late-night study session, but Jess isn't letting her off the hook. A/N: Participating in @choicesseptemberchallenge2023 Day 5, Notebook @choicesficwriterscreations bisexual awareness week; @choicespride bisexual awareness week.
Tumblr media
The tiny apartment was dimly lit, as expected when the clock was nearing one a.m. But Casey had an anatomy exam to prepare for, and sleep was a luxury not afforded to the second-year med school student. As her eyelids became heavy, Jessica went into action. With a flip of a switch, the overhead fluorescent blubs blared, ripping Casey from the soothing haze she had been slipping into.
“Hey!” She protested.
“Hey, nothing!” Jess snapped back. “I’m not staying up with you for my health. We’re here to get you prepped for your exam tomorrow. Now sit up!”
Her commanding voice was a bit intimidating. If medicine didn’t work out for Jess, Casey was confident her girlfriend could have an impressive career as a drill sergeant. Still, she was too familiar with her softer side to take her commands seriously.
“No,” she protested wearily. “I’m too tired.”
Jess let out an exasperated sigh, but one look at Casey’s crooked smile and she was reduced to a marshmallow again.
“How about this,” the doe-eyed redhead smiled. “Answer one more question correctly, and we’ll call it a night.”
“Go for it!”
Jess lifted the notebook and read: “What is the name of the process of division of a somatic cell’s nucleus into two daughter nuclei?”
Casey squirmed before belting out: “Meoisis!”
“No! It’s mitosis! You know that, Case. Meiosis refers to the production of sex cells, not somatic.”
“Well, maybe I have other things on my mind,” Casey teased.
“Yeah,” Jess smirked, “Well, I’m not giving into that until I’m confident you’ll pass. I have a minimum GPA requirement to be my girlfriend, you know.”
“Oh really,” Casey chuckled. “Well, for your information, I wasn’t thinking about that! I was thinking about food! I haven’t eaten since 4:30.”
“Casey! Why didn’t you say something! You know you shouldn’t do that.”
“It wasn’t intentional,” she yawned. “I’ve been too busy.”
“Well, let’s fix that. What can we get you to eat?”
Casey picked up her phone. “There is a pizza place down on 37th that’s open 24/7. I’ll give them a call.”
“Pizza at one a.m.!” Jess scoffed. “I think not.” She headed to the small kitchen with Casey following behind.
“You won’t find anything. I haven’t been grocery shopping.”
“I’m sure there’s something,” Jess said, displeased to find mostly empty cabinets and some unhealthy options in the fridge. “Casey....” she groaned, feeling a little better when she saw a container of steel-cut oats. “Here. You can have this.”
“I could,” Casey blushed, “But... I don’t know how to make them.”
“You don’t know how to make oatmeal?” Jess’s brown eyes bulged. “It’s basically boiling!”
“Yeah, and burning. When I do it, it typically includes burning.”
Unsure if she was more amused or horrified by the reply, Jess brushed Casey’s golden locks aside and kissed her forehead to conceal both.
“I’ll tell you what. I’ll make you oatmeal, and we’ll study a few more questions. Then, we should really get some sleep.”
“All right,” Casey smiled, pulling Jess into a tight hug. “Thank you.”
“But, as soon as you pass this anatomy exam, we’re going grocery shopping, and I’m teaching you how to cook.”
“Jess, when it comes to anatomy, I’m a quick study – but cooking... that’s another animal.”
“Don’t worry, I know what I’m dealing with. We’ll start small. Grilled cheese for dinner tomorrow?”
“As long as you don’t mind burnt grilled cheese,” Casey grinned.
“Not on my watch,” Jess chuckled. “You’re lucky you’re so damned cute, MacTavish!”
“I get that a lot,” Casey smiled. “But you’re cute too... I guess you deserve grilled cheese that isn’t burnt for dinner tomorrow. So I’ll do my best.”
“Gee,” Jess rolled her eyes as she plopped the bowl of oatmeal on the table. “How’d I ever get so lucky?”
“We,” Casey smiled.
“We? We what?”
“How did we get so lucky?”
“Yeah, yeah,” Jess blushed. “You’re still answering a few more questions when you’re done. I’m not as easily manipulated as those silly boys you used to date.”
“Oh, I know that,” Casey assured. “And I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
“Good! Now, what is the name of the process of division of a somatic cell’s nucleus into two daughter nuclei?
“Mitosis!”
“See,” Jess winked. “You are a quick study!”

The Irish Porridge Project
We know that cereal grains were in use in pre-Norman Ireland. We also know that yeast baking doesn't work very well in Ireland's climate, such that soda bread is the traditional Irish loaf, rather than the yeast breads and sourdoughs that most other European cuisines have. But bread soda wasn't available in period, so the bread of the medieval era seems mostly to have been flatbreads and some kind of biscuits or crackers, with yeast bread only really available to the rich and in (some) monasteries. Everyone else seems to have gotten along with porridges as the main use for grain. There's even mention of wheat porridges being the appropriate food for royal fosterlings.
"Porridge" in modern English mostly means that it's made from oatmeal, and indeed, it's called just "oatmeal" in some places. But it's possible to make porridge from any grain. The Southern US dish called grits is a maize porridge, for one example. So what I want to do over the next while is try out every kind of porridge that pre-Norman Irish people could have gotten hold of.
There is the issue that we don't actually know what all the grains were. We have a list from the 8th century Bretha Déin Chécht: bread-wheat, rye, spelt-wheat, two-row barley, emmer wheat, six-row barley, and oats, but we don't really know what some of those are, and the translations are dubious in some cases. In this case, I'm going to go for emmer, einkorn, durum, barley, rye and oats. That list may be adjusted if I find more or that some (durum, perhaps) were not available in period. I'll also look at grain-like stuffs like pendulous sedge and fat hen, and see what can be done with those.
Next, there are multiple forms of grain that can make porridge. The full grain "berry", the slightly trimmed groat, various crushed and rolled forms, and coarse and fine flours. In addition, there are malted, roasted, and fermented options for each, and different grains might be mixed. This is adding up to a lot of different porridges!
As I try them, I'll add links here and describe what results I get, including other people's opinions of them, when I get those. I have a couple of co-conspirators on this project, and as they send me the results of their trials, I'll add them here too.
I'd also like to credit Magister Galefridus Peregrinus, whose class in non-baking use of Fertile Crescent grains at Pennsic 50 jumped my initial research and thinking on this particular project by years.

Pairing: Slasher!Din Djarin x F!Reader
Word count: 800
Warnings: Hilariously none for this, despite the horror nature of this AU. I just wanted to take a soft little peek inside Slasher!Din's head:)
A/N: This AU would not exist without the lovely and talented @tuskens-mando!! Eri has spent so much time with me in the dms just yelling about this man that we find endlessly fascinating and want to domesticate so badly. I might write more for him who knows, for now this was a fun writing exercise for an AU I'm normally only yelling about with Eri <3

Everyone around town avoids him. Averting their eyes, staring when they think he won't notice, walking on the opposite side of the street, sharing not-so-quiet whispers behind his back. He doesn't blame them. Their aversion is probably in many of their best interests.
Everyone gives him a wide berth. Except her. She is completely unafraid of him.
Din can't remember the last time anyone was wholly and truly unafraid of him. He'd forgotten what it felt like. To be met with a smile rather than a frown. To be earnestly acknowledged without another motive coloring the interaction. He's learned by now to tell when that's the case and after months he can't find anything false about her.
Their first interaction is still one he plays over and over again in his mind.
Din does his best to keep trips into town sparing but at times they become unavoidable. The dead of winter is most difficult, relying on his own stores to get him through. Tired of the same meals and with the added benefit of reminding the town of his presence, he made his way to the local grocer. With any luck, he could get his essentials and not have to return for another month.
Winter clothes bulk up anyone, making him loom larger than normal in the aisles. His scarf is kept securely wrapped around the bottom of his face. The shadow he casts is long and most don't look to stay in it. He doesn’t mind. At least this way he’s able to do his shopping undisturbed. There’s also something funny to be found in old Mrs. Peterson scrambling away from the oatmeal only for Din to take her spot. As though he would shove her out of his way just to get at the steel cut oats.
That was not the aisle she found him in. Din became aware of her existence two aisles down while he stood trying to decide what kind of peanut butter to buy. Smooth is classic and never disappoints, but could there be something to trying out crunchy?
He ignored the first tap on his shoulder. If anyone dared to approach him it was always either a stupid kid on a dare or a macho guy with something to prove. It never ended well for either. He never quite understood what they thought would happen, aggressing him in public. Despite what many think, Din isn’t stupid and his Creed dictates a strict set of rules. He would never bend it for some idiot looking to fight in a grocery store.
The insistent second tap would have normally set him on edge, but irritation immediately faded with the soft sound of her voice. “Excuse me?”
He turned only to look down and find the sweetest looking woman he’d ever seen standing before him. Din was short on words. That wasn’t exactly uncommon for him, but he felt particularly stunned to turn and see her smile. It was earnest, if not a little bashful, and completely unlike anything he’d ever been greeted with before. He wanted to keep her smiling forever.
“Sorry to bother you, but could you help me grab the maple syrup off the top shelf there? I can’t reach and I don’t want to climb the shelves for it.” She laughed then, delicate and so unlike the nervous chuckles he was used to hearing. He’d nearly forgotten what a genuine laugh could sound like. He craved more.
Din gladly did as she asked, easily grabbing two bottles in case one wasn’t enough. His mouth was still cotton dry. She thanked him and took the syrup, not even flinching as their fingers touched for the briefest of moments. Even now, he can still feel the way her skin felt against his.
He thought it might be a one off kind of thing. Someone passing through, visiting, or new who hadn’t yet heard the stories about him. Three weeks went by before he needed to come back to town with the assumption that if he saw her again she would avoid and ignore him like everyone else. His mind reeled with shock when she not only smiled and greeted him, but chose to finish her shopping side-by-side with him. Din had never shopped with someone else before.
Even as winter melted into spring, her attitude remained unchanged. He wasn’t a fool. Din knew by now she’d heard everything that could be said about him. Some of what they said was correct, but he knew the townspeople liked to embellish as well. None of it seemed to bother her. She never shied away, never looked at him with suspicion, never made him feel anything less than normal.
Din has no idea what he did to earn her trust. He does know that he wants to keep it.

-------------------
Draco woke in the early morning, buried almost-comfortably in the covers of his bed in the cold of his room, and a little automatic morning Occlumency left him feeling pretty good.
He got up before Harry came to get him, with only a minor shiver, and then he was startled when he opened the door — there was a small table beside it, with a bowl of oatmeal and a horrible pink bottle on it. Harry must have had to go out, he realised. Of course. That was a thing he did, obviously, with work and things. And he'd let him sleep, not checking to realise that he'd been awake for some time.
He ate in his room, and when he eventually steeled himself to deal with the rest of the house took his dishes downstairs.
Harry was in the first room he looked into. He was sitting by the fire with his case book and one from the library, making notes.
Draco only spent a second surprised. "Good morning—" he started.
The moment Harry realised he was there, he stood, picked up his books, and left through the other door without even looking at him.
Draco froze. Like a physical thing, seeing that pummelled him with visions, memories of Theo doing that exact same thing for the entire duration of seventh year, dozens or probably hundreds of instances of him picking up and leaving when he came too close. Pansy and Daphne doing the same thing, but at least they'd glare at him to acknowledge he existed. Most of the younger Slytherins avoiding him. A buffer of space around him at breakfast where only Goyle and sometimes Crabbe and Millicent and a couple younger proto-Death Eaters would come close. The decent people avoiding him because of what he'd done and the wannabe Death Eaters because he was a failure who hadn't done it properly.
Memories of Crabbe's growing independence and walking away from him, sometimes taking Goyle with him… Memories of every time Blaise chose a different train car because he was there… Memories of Harry's friend group or allies turning around and walking out of a shop when they saw him… Memories of when he was young and did something to anger his mother so she would ignore him and rebuff his attempts to spend time with her…
Harry was gone by the time Draco caught his breath and pushed the memories away. He frowned and backed out of the room, trying to regain his bearings, cursing his useless mind — he couldn't remember what he had done to offend Harry no matter how he wracked his mind, and unfortunately there was no context to trigger the right memory like there had been with the medicine. He was sure he knew, it was just lost somewhere in the sea of unconnected memories…
He would admit it and ask him to explain the next time he saw him. And apologise, probably. For now, act normal. Dishes. Tidy up. Pick a room and organise it. There was a book of Pureblood families which kept catching his eye, maybe he could focus enough to look through it…
—-
It was uncomfortable to be alone as night fell. The shadows in the street grew long, the sky turned purple, the lights in front of the houses came on, and the day felt unfinished. Like he was waiting. The routine was for Harry to come home in the evening and them to be more or less together until time to turn in. Without that…
He didn't think he had seen Harry all day. He couldn't even swear that he was still home.
Well, that wasn't entirely accurate. Meals and medicine, not just the pink one but the pain one for his aches too, appeared at what seemed to be the appropriate times, left sitting outside the room he was in. That showed that Harry knew where he was, was probably keeping track of him, but he didn't answer when Draco tried to call for him. When he'd found lunch, Draco had ventured away from the sitting room, looking for him, only to find himself sitting on the stairs, struggling to calm down so he didn't get overwhelmed by the frustration and self-pity and disgust that were harrying the edges of his mind and trying to take his reason away, unable to find his way back to his meal.
But he had found his way back eventually, without breaking down — thank you, Occlumency, probably — and then stayed there, organising books, trying to read, staring out the window. It grew dark without a sign of Harry and it felt like he was still waiting.
He didn't intentionally stay up, but the waiting feeling made it never feel like it was time to go to bed yet, no matter how dark it got outside. It was only when he heard the clock striking two that he realised how much of nothing he'd been doing. He looked out the window again at the puddles of orangish light on the pavement and the empty sky, and knew he should go. He still had the process of finding his way back upstairs between him and bed, though. He knew it was only five or ten minutes, but it felt like an eternity, like it would never end, while he was in the middle of it.
Or… There was a sofa here. He considered it a second, then nodded slightly to himself. No reason to put himself through something that unpleasant if he could just go around it.
He moved to the sofa, but something made him check outside the door before he lay down. He didn't know what he was expecting — what he found was a tray of bottles sitting in the hall. Pink, pain, Sleeping, and Dreamless Sleep, left there for him, who knew how long ago. He ran his finger over the Dreamless Sleep bottle and looked down the dark hall pensively.
—-
Draco sat with his elbows on his knees, staring down into his hands, focused intently on his mind, trying to force it into order. What else could he do? Was he forgetting something, overlooking something? The house was clean, cleaner probably than it ever had been. He took his medication religiously, set aside the pain ones if he didn't really need them so they didn't cloud his mind and make him irritating, used the hunger and nausea ones and ate even if he didn't want to. He mitigated his habits that were probably annoying, like leaving drapes open. What else did he need to do? What else could he do? How did he fix it?
The door opened quietly, and Draco's head came up at once. Harry was coming into the room, not looking at him. Almost like he didn't know he was there.
"Harry…" He stood up, but hung back at the edge of the sofa, watching, eyes glued to him.
Harry didn't answer. He flicked his wand at the fireplace and set it alight, and then stepped back toward the door. He turned the other direction to do so, so that his eyes didn't have to cross over Draco.
"Harry, wait." He stepped toward him.
Harry stepped into the hall and closed the door softly.
Draco's eyes flinched closed, and because there was no one there to see him he grabbed a handful of hair at the back of his head.
That was how it was… how it always had been and always would be. The isolation was as implacable as it was gentle. He wanted for nothing — he had the run of the house, Harry made sure he had meals and water and an abundance of elixirs waiting for him whenever he could possibly desire one. His clothes were cleaned and the kitchen was stocked with food he didn't need help to eat. Harry discreetly lit fires and sometimes lights in the rooms Draco was using so he would not be too cold. There was no judgement on how he spent his time, no pressure to sleep at any hour or to be productive or to move, even if he slept downstairs or stayed in his room all day. It was complete freedom, completely provided for with no strings attached.
Yet, he had not heard another human voice in… He didn't know. He struggled to even bring up the memory of a voice other than his own. Harry never set eyes on him, never seemed to hear him when he spoke, pulled away when he drew close and stepped out of the room when he entered.
He wanted for nothing, except other people.
—-
He was losing his mind.
It was nothing to do with his memory problems. He would have been going mad after days or weeks without speaking to another person even if his mind were fully clear. He knew that from experience.
He didn't know what he was going to do. He just knew he couldn't live like this. He had found himself actively avoiding Harry because of the actual pain of seeing him pull away. When he looked away without seeing him he actually couldn't breathe.
Being without other people was going to kill him…
—-
"Mudbloods! Traitors! Filth of impure blood!"
Draco leaned in the corner with the dusty sheet folded up over his arm, calmly watching the stairs while Walburga screeched her ire over the house.
Weird that she opened with 'Mudbloods', wasn't it, when she saw him? Even if she didn't know him specifically, the real thing would have recognised a descendant of his bloodline on sight, and he would have thought the matriarch of the House of Black would have paid for — and demanded — an actual sentient portrait. Perhaps when the resistance was using the house they tried to shut her up and instead they broke her. What a terrible tragedy.
What a terrible, convenient tragedy…
As he expected, Harry didn't tolerate the cacophony for long. He appeared at the bottom of the stairs, looking up at the portrait, and just enough of a glance at Draco to understand the situation.
"I see you'll come when she calls," Draco said acidly, voice raised over her yelling.
Harry didn't answer, but calmly climbed the stairs, pulling out his wand from his pocket. A wordless motion summoned the sheet from Draco's hand and manoeuvred it back on top of the portrait, muffling her diatribe.
Draco stepped out of the corner, behind him, to block him from the stairs. Keep him from leaving. "Are you quite finished?" he demanded with a sneer. "Have you had enough of a tantrum?"
Harry didn't answer, didn't even acknowledge that he'd spoken, and turned around without ever facing him square on. Fury at the unfairness bubbled up and came out before he had time to consider it. "What makes you think you can ignore me? You're nothing! You're less than nothing!" He didn't stop. He cast aspersions on his parentage, breeding, upbringing, House, and character, spitting any vitriol that came to mind, but what all of it actually meant was look at me. Look at me!
Stop pretending I don't exist and just Look At Me!
He didn't. Harry stepped around him and descended the stairs without a reaction, like he couldn't hear him speaking, like he didn't even notice he was there.
In a surge of desperate pettiness, Draco went back to the portrait and ripped the sheet down again. Walburga immediately screeched at them, layered over Draco's scream of "Fine! Then then you can have the one you actually will deal with!"
Harry stopped where he was, paused on the stairs for a second. Then he very calmly turned back, pointed his wand at Draco, and without speaking the incantation Silenced him. Draco's yelling abruptly cut off although his mouth kept moving.
Fucker! he screamed, but without a sound, straining his throat with the force of the rage and trying to be heard. Harry twitched his wand for the sheet again, and Draco seized it tight, fighting the spell to not let him have it; he managed to wrangle it away and throw it over the railing of the stairs. It flopped down to the ground floor like a dead thing.
Harry looked down at it, taking a slow breath, and then raised his eyes to dismiss it and went down the stairs. He didn't retrieve it, he just kept walking.
Draco yelled after Harry's back, then he turned and yelled ineffectually at the portrait to shut up. He paced the hall in mounting agitation.
But the anger and agitation were shallow, fragile, and as much as he tried to cling to it, to shore it up, it crumbled and left a gaping hole that was sucking everything out of him.
Draco sank down on the steps, hyperventilating in eerie silence, holding onto his head. Why?!
Something cold pressed against the back of his hand. He looked up, found Harry actually looking at him, a sympathetic look as he pressed a Calming Draught into his hand. Wait!, Draco tried to say, reaching for him, but Harry evaded his hand, leaving him only with the bottle, and turned away, and then he was gone.
—-
He'd woken up, eaten, and then immediately taken the non-Dreamless Sleeping Draught he hadn't used the previous night to go back to sleep, because he just… couldn't.
He knew he couldn't do that again. It scared him that he had once— and he had to tell himself it had been only once, that he hadn't made a habit of it, that he hadn't been burying himself in sleep to avoid being awake, even though he didn't know if it was true. He couldn't let himself fall into that trap. It didn't accomplish anything, it was just giving up.
He stood at the black door to the outside, looking at it.
There were people out there.
Could he…?
There were Aurors out there. Dementors. Wizengamot. Azkaban. Blame.
There was death out there.
It was either that or give up. He had nothing left.
He lifted his hand, still hesitating, and finally set his hand against the black wood. Almost instantly he jerked it back with a hiss — the door was searing against his skin, like there was a fire burning inside of it. Cursed.
He didn't even have to ask for Harry's rationale. The explanation came to him without even looking for it — Harry was afraid he would try to leave and end up harming himself. This protected him from himself, so he didn't do something rash in one of his bouts of emotion.
…It had done its job. What was he thinking? He backed away and then turned his back, rubbing his arms, wiping away the sting in his hand on his sleeve, putting the door out of his mind. That wasn't an option…
Even if it weren't locked… and trapped… to keep him in…
—-
Draco stopped in the doorway, holding his arms above the elbows, when he realised Harry was in the family tree room. He automatically dropped his eyes away from him, so that he wouldn't have to see him, gathering up his books, standing to leave…
"Stop…" he said quietly.
Harry said nothing and walked toward the other door.
Draco hunched over. "Stop!" He was gripping his arms so tightly his fingers felt like claws. "Just stop running away from me! Please!"
He didn't look up, but he could hear that Harry had stopped moving. He was still in the room with him.
"Please…" he started, more measured. "I can't… My memory doesn't work right… I can't remember what happened 'yesterday', I can't tell. I remember things that are similar. So when you're avoiding me, I remember every other time you've been avoiding me, I remember everyone avoiding me, and I don't know if it's been two days or two months but I feel like I've been alone for years and I can't take it!" He hunched into his shaking shoulders. "I can't… I can't do it… Just stop… Just talk to me…" His voice trailed away into barely more than a whisper.
It was silent. He shut his eyes tight and clenched his teeth. He was so stupid. Pathetic. Harry was already on his way out, this would never end…
Then there was a step toward him. "I'm sorry, Draco." Harry's voice was quiet. "I don't think I can."
He opened his eyes, staring at the floor at Harry's feet. He latched onto the sound of his voice like water in the desert. He was talking to him. He'd say anything to keep it, but he didn't know what he needed to say. "Please…"
"I thought I could do this, help you without… But I can't. I'm sorry, I… I think I'm going to have to go." His voice was quietly sad. "I can probably find someone else to take care of you…"
Go. Leave. No… No, he couldn't… He gripped his arms and stared blankly at the floor.
Harry took one step closer, feet in the line of his eyes now. "I won't let you suffer, but this… This is torture, Draco. To be this close to you and not able to touch you, being with you but not allowed to be with you. It's killing me."
"Then you can," he said impulsively.
Harry was dead quiet for a moment. "Don't toy with me, Draco," he finally murmured. "Don't use me and push me away like you do. I can't take it anymore."
"I won't," he promised. "I'm not." And he meant it. The thought of pushing him away right now made him sick.
Harry stepped closer, came right up to him, but Draco was afraid to lift his eyes and see him.
"Draco… Look at me."
He reluctantly did as he was asked, forcing his eyes up warily to Harry's face. The need in his expression, raw and as wary as Draco felt but with hope in it, hope that felt foreign to Draco.
Harry lifted his hand, but hesitated, suspended in the air inches from his face. His eyes were searching, intense. "If you're going to change your mind, tell me now, and I'll go," he said. "I won't be able to handle it."
"…I won't," he promised.
Hesitantly, without looking away from his eyes, Harry brought the hand to his face. The backs of his fingers brushed over his cheek. The feeling lingered in his skin. His fingers slid into his hair, held the back of his head, and then he kissed him.
