Saudade

Unfinished WIP. Ezra Bridger x reader. First love, angsty. Written in five minutes because I'm so content-deprived. Reader is the same age as Ezra, set during the Ahsoka series with a Rebels flashback.

His hand grasps yours, warm in the cold night air. The silence hung heavy, as the sky illuminated with the remnants of an explosion. Tears staining your faces, as the ship pilots away from the wreckage, leaving the man you'd grown to love as an older brother behind.

He squeezes your hand then, as if you were his lifeline. The anger and sadness is killing you all. Sabine tends to Hera, sitting her on a chair and barking orders to Chopper to get you out of there now.

As you land, the shock wears off and Ezra finally drops your hand, he's paused by Zeb and you don't hear what he says but you know.

"He's gone."

"Sabine, Ezra's gone. It's been years."

"How can you say that? He's out there and we need to bring him home."

You sigh, "Sabine, I had to let him go, you will too."

She storms out in a silent rage, speeding off into the distance, away from your Lothal home. The door whirs closed.

Then, you're on your knees and you sob. It rips through your chest, you had to let him go to survive, you rationalise but you know that if Sabine hadn't left right then, you would've crumbled and fallen back into the disarray you knew would only end in heartbreak and a missing first love.

When Ahsoka and Hera reached out, there was no question. Nothing was going to stop you from bringing Ezra - your Ezra - home.

His picture on your holopad illuminates the dark cockpit, and barely above a whisper "I'll see this through to the end, Ezra, I promise."

Imagine...

Babysitting for Hera was always a difficult task, with a force sensitive Jacen who was usually accompanied by a very opinionated Chopper. It was made marginally easier by your - albeit brief - training from the small Jedi temple on your homeworld of Naboo that called to you before you joined the Rebellion.

But babysitting with Ezra was a whole different story. After years of missing Jacen's growth and development, he was determined to be the designated 'fun' uncle that everyone adored, which left you to be 'Bad Cop'.

Today, you sat on the floor of his Lothal home, relishing the peace as you meditate. A soft voice from the Jedi of old begins to speak but before you can decipher any more, a loud crash resounds.

Chopper whizzes past. Followed by a screaming Jacen and a cackling Ezra.

The latter halts once he notices your glare.

"Wait, What did I do?"

Before you can respond, he's dashed off again after Jacen, leaving you to sprint after him too, cursing him under your breath.

Later, you find Jacen curled up on Ezra's chest, collapsed in a pillow fort. The soft snores being a relief since the chaos of the morning, you silently snap a photo on your holopad, sending it off to 'The Ghost Chat'.

At that, Ezra opens his eyes - probably from the vibration of the holo on his wrist - and beckons you to lay next to him. You sink into the pillows as his free arm wraps around your waist, pulling you in close. The warmth radiates off of him as you rest your head in the space between his neck and shoulder. Ezra presses a soft kiss to your forehead, whispering an 'I love you'.

You just smiled with a mumbled 'I know' and buried your face into his shirt, listening to his heartbeat as you both slowly drift back into sleep.

there really has been a severe lack of romance in star wars lately? we have han and leia in the ot, anakin and padme in the pt, then there's no official romance in the st (besides will they won't they and 1 dying kiss) an almost romance in rogue one, a sort of romance and betrayal in solo, nothing in mando and andor (?idk for sure i haven't seen them) nothing in obi wan kenobi and nothing (yet) in ahsoka

like i'm glad we get a break from heteronormative romance but at the same time i miss rooting for a canon couple you know? ships are wonderful but there's always that part of me that wants something official and recognized? idk all in all sabine better end up with shin or ezra or both or i'll eat my hat

To prepare for my eventual return to writing, i have some prompts that based on your votes, i will write them in order of priority. So the one that wins will be written first, the second highest, will be written next, etc.

So here are the prompts I have in mind!

Prompt 1 (Ezra Bridger x Queen of Naboo!reader)

- Ezra meets you as you pretend to be your Handmaiden, as you are still escorted by your handmaidens, one pretending to be you or what anakin and padme could’ve been.

- Jedi x Queen/ Literally just if Padme met Anakin in a better time/ romance with some action because its star wars baby!

Prompt 2 (Gojo Satoru x Geto’s Twin sister!reader)

- Suguru might have left but now the burden of his crimes end up with you. Gojo would do anything to protect you.

-this is a slowburn multi fic. Friends to lovers/Fake to real marriage/Pining/also has Nanami as the second male lead.

Prompt 3 (LA!Kurama x Reader)

- When kidnapped by the Toguro brothers alongside your new found friend Keiko, Kurama must stop himself from acting rashly and letting the demon in him out. He will find you and he will make sure that no harm can ever befall you ever again.

- Friends to lovers/ has some violence because its yuyu hakusho/ this is just the first yuyu hakusho fic i have rn.

Prompt 4 (Bucky Barnes x Librarian!Reader)

- in a world that he no longer really understands, with his oldest friend no longer around and Sam busy with his new duties as captain america, Bucky meets you on a rainy day as he seeks for shelter in a library of all places.

- Love at first sight/ angst-comfort/ happy ending (because i love bucky too much to not give him happiness)

Prompt 5 (Geto Suguru x Sorcerer!Reader)

- He’s gone and left you and all your friends but has he forgotten that you will never give up on him, even if it kills you in the end.

- angst/character death/just me channeling my inner gege/ right person, wrong time

I have a really batshit theory about Thrawn that I know isn't going to be true but I need to ramble about it--

What if "Thrawn" is a Nightsister illusion designed to aid them in safe passage off their barren world and the real Thrawn is elsewhere?

Ezra, the stormtroopers, and even the Chimaera are all ragged and appear worn by time. There's visible change there. Thrawn looks spotless, like he's jumped into live action straight out of a rebels episode. Something feels off.

Earlier on in the season, Morgan says that "Thrawn calls to her" and then we hear some creepy voices speaking to her that sound nothing like Thrawn. I watched that ep and was like, girl...that's something else. Then we get the reveal that Marrok wasn't a real being but a reanimated corpse/cursed armor via Nightsister magic.

Jump to today's episode, and we land on Peridea and are immediately greeted by Nightsisters.

When we meet Ezra he's just...chillin' apparently, with a nomadic tribe of hermit crab people (very in-character of him tbh). What strikes me as odd is...why would Ezra allow Thrawn to amass an army? This could easily be answered next ep if he mentions that he's been striking out at them periodically but moving around to remain uncaught (he is wearing some form of naturally constructed armor), but...Ezra also seems so...out of the loop? He just seems completely unaware that there's a looming threat at all, and why would he be this way if Thrawn was alive and well and Ezra knew an army was being made.

Idk, maybe the episode just isn't sitting with me right (even though I enjoyed it), but something feels off and I need it to be next week so I can start getting some answers.
