cant stop thinking about danny fenton DST mod. sketchdump time
mod concept/rambling under the cut:
Danny Fenton
The Half-Ghost
Favorite food: Veggie Burger (despite the name, this is actually considered a meat item. both sam and tucker would be willing to eat this!)
200 Health | 175 Hunger | 120 Sanity
PERKS:
Is a ghost... sometimes [neutral to ghosts, innate cold resist, human + ghost form]
Human food only feeds half of him [.5x stat gain from food + need for ectoplasm]
Has obsessions to fulfill [increased attack/defense when allies are nearby, decreased stats when no allies, loses sanity/other consequence if allies die]
Has a deadly weakness to electricity [increased damage+sanity loss from lightning, electric damage] ...also damaged by proximity to evil flowers, but this will apply to ALL ghosts, not just danny
ABILITIES:
Transforms into his ghost half by alt-clicking himself.
can fly over/walk through obstacles (ignores collision)
increased damage/defense & increased hunger drain, constant sanity drain
ghost-like sanity drain aura (applies to nearby players except Wendy)
is a "monster" (attacked by pigmen, bunnymen, catcoons, etc)
takes more damage from electricity + evil flowers than his human form. (maybe also increased damage from magic/shadows/planar attacks?)
Cannot talk in ghost form. Uses incomprehensible language instead (either "OooOOOoo" like DST ghosts or made up ghostspeak)
Can shoot ectoblasts by alt-clicking enemies. Costs hunger per use. Usable in both forms, but deals more damage in ghost form.
maybe has a small chance to freeze enemies, with increased chance in winter?
If Danny dies, he leaves his human corpse behind (instead of a skeleton) and is stuck in ghost mode.
Permanently insane, -90% max HP. Corpse needs to be revived with a telltale heart [or some other item] (revives with no health penalty).
If killed again, corpse is replaced with a skeleton and danny becomes a "normal" DST ghost. When reviving using vanilla methods, has a bigger health penalty + sanity loss.
ITEMS/MOBS:
ECTOPLASM. Periodically spawned by ghosts & pipspooks. Chance drop on a ghost's death.
Danny needs to eat ectoplasm regularly or he gradually gets weaker [or some other consequence here].
Can be given to ghosts to make them temporary allies [Danny only]
DOG TOY. Temporarily spawns CUJO.
limited "loyalty" (spawn time) but can be fed ectoplasm to keep him around longer
immortal/can't be killed, loses loyalty instead
can walk on water (ignores collision)
"gets big" whenever danny is attacked. will attack all nearby mobs (even if not aggressive) for a certain amount of time before shrinking again
BLOB GHOSTS. passive mob/won't attack.
either spawn near headstones or around ectoplasm left on the ground
“prey” animals like rabbits (will run away from scary creatures & players, excluding danny/other ghosts)
automatically start following danny whenever he's near + grant him small sanity gain
will periodically spawn ectoplasm on the ground (higher rate than regular ghosts) OR passively restore danny’s ectoplasm meter based on proximity
ectoplasm is guaranteed drop on death (but why would you kill them you monster 🙁🙁🙁🙁)
despawns after a couple days
other potential items/perks:
ectoplasm tracker- points towards ectoplasm/ectoplasm sources on the map. or maybe cujo can track it instead?
fenton thermos- holds ectoplasm and/or ghosts in storage slots?
Other things I'm less certain on:
if ghost form has higher hunger drain, should it also drain the ectoplasm meter faster?
want something to imply that ghosts are emotional creatures/danny's strength is tied to his emotions somehow, but "growing weaker/stronger at low sanity" is an overused perk. maybe he takes increased damage at low sanity?
maybe some other protection based perks idk
maybe his human form should be weaker than average, to encourage gathering/etc in human form, and combat in ghost form?
ok its that it byeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

🇺🇳🇵🇸 🚨 UNITED NATIONS WORLD FOOD PROGRAMME WARNS GAZANS FACE IMMEDIATE STARVATION
The United Nations' World Food Programme warned Friday that Palestinian civilians living in the Gaza Strip face immediate starvation and dehydration as the Israeli Occupation continues operations targeting Gaza.
The comments come as part of a United Nations World Food Programme press conference held on Friday morning.
"Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are becoming more desperate everyday in the search for bread and other essential foods," World Food Programme Senior Spokesperson for the Middle East, North Africa and Eastern Europe, Abeer Etefa said.
Etefa told the press conference, "We are already starting to see cases of dehydration and malnutrition which is increasing rapidly and by the day. So Gaza actually risks sliding into hunger heavily without fuel and a rapid surge in food supplies."
According to Etefa, only 10% of necessary food supplies are entering the Gaza Strip at this time, and she told the conference that Gaza is facing a major food gap.
"So 2.2 million people, that's nearly the entire population of Gaza are now in need of food assistance," the spokesperson warned.
"People are barely able to have a meal a day. Food options are limited to canned food, if it is actually available, bread is a rare luxury and aid trucks are trickling into Gaza, but even the small amounts of food and water that make it over the border are barely able to be transported to where it needs to go as roads have been damaged or fuel is in very short supply."
Etefa went on to say that the existing food systems inside the besieged Gaza Strip are collapsing and food production has come to a complete halt since the events of October 7th.
"Fisherman cannot access the sea, Farmers cannot reach their farms, and the last bakery that the World Food Programme has been working with has closed its doors because of the shortage of fuel," Etefa explained.
"Shops have run out of food supplies, the bakeries are unable to operate because of the fuel, shortage of clean water or because they have sustained damage, and the last mill that was also operating to make... the wheat flour that's needed for baking bread has been hit [in an Israeli strike] and has stopped operating."
Etefa goes on to explain how all these problems have led to bread shortages, which she called the "last staple food for people in Gaza" and pointed to the lack of electricity supply as one of the main culprits for the desperation of the situation.
Etefa goes on to explain how perishable food items are not available, nor are they really an option due to the lack of electricity and fuel which prevents refrigeration.
According to Etefa, at the beginning of the conflict, the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), working alongside its partner agency, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), partnered with 23 bakeries at the start of the conflict and have been providing bread for over 200'000 Gazans every morning.
"This is now over," Etefa stated plainly, "because all of the 23 bakeries are now out of service."
According to the spokesperson, at the start of the war there had been over 130 bakeries in Gaza, with more than 11 having been targeted in Israeli Occupation strikes, including one which had been contracted by the WFP, while the rest are effectively closed due to shortages of fuel.
"In general, 25% of the shops in Gaza, those ones that have been contracted by WFP remain open and others have run out of essential food items," the spokesperson explained.
"But even the ones that remain open have very limited supplies in the stores, the local markets have shut down completely, small quantities of food can be found, but they are being sold at alarmingly inflated prices and are of little use without fuel and cooking gas."
This means that most Palestinians living in Gaza are surviving on less than one meal a day, and the lucky ones may have a meal that includes canned food, however, many people have resorted to consuming raw onions and eggplants, as well as other foods that are normally cooked.
Etafa explains how it is impossible for the light trickle of Humanitarian Aid being allowed to enter Gaza by the occupation to make up for the complete halt of commercial operations in the Gaza Strip.
Etefa mentioned that since October 21st, the first day the Occupation allowed aid through the Raffah border crossing, 1'129 trucks loaded with aid have been allowed into Gaza.
However, of those 1'129 trucks carrying aid, only 147 of them were carrying food supplies.
"The volume remains very inadequate," Etefa told the audience.
According to the WFP spokesperson, since the Raffah border crossing was opened for emergency aid, more than 400 trucks were crossing into Gaza each day. However, now that number has been reduced to closer to 100 per day, and of those 100 trucks, only an estimated 10% contain food imports.
"That means that the food that has entered Gaza so far is only enough to meet 7% of the people's daily minimum of the caloric needs," Spokesperson Etefa explained.
"With winter fast approaching and the unsafe and overcrowded shelters, the lack of clean water, people are facing the immediate possibility of starvation," a stunning comment from the spokesperson.
According to WFP Spokesperson Abeer Etefa, aid has so far been delivered to around 764'000 people in Gaza and the West Bank, including food parcels and electronic vouchers, and assisted another 500'000 staying in UN shelters with bread, canned tuna fish, and date bars.
Another 520'000 people were provided with electronic vouchers at the beginning of the crisis, however the vouchers have become worthless as food, water and fuel have virtually disappeared over the last week and nothing remains in the shops for civilians to purchase.
Though, according to Etefa, the World Food Programme intends on scaling up operations in Gaza in the coming days with a goal of reaching 1 million people with aid by December.
However, for that to happen, the Israeli Occupation would have to allow many more trucks with Humanitarian Aid through the Raffah border crossing and other areas of access to Gaza.
"We need more than just one crossing point," Etefa told the audience.
"We need the safe access of Humanitarian Aid workers to distribute assistance and for the civilians to have safe access to the assistance, fuel for trucks, fuel for bakeries; so that we can continue to provide this staple food commodity and to be operational and, of course, connectivity to facilitate delivery of assistance, and the ability to rotate staff in and out of Gaza so that we can beef up our capacity on the ground and give relied to the people who have been working for the last few weeks tirelessly."
In a blunt assessment of the situation, Etefa said, "There is no way to meet the current hunger needs with the current situation."
"The collapse of food supply chains is catastrophic, it's a catastrophic turning point in an already very bad situation," Etefa concludes.
"Gaza was not an easy place to live before the 7th of October, and if the situation was difficult before this conflict, it's now disastrous."

Things that scare me as a gamer:
Jumpscares.
Item Decay and Hunger systems.
Using that one special unique item and hoarding all items until the final battle, but fully expecting it to be needed for a post-game thing so still refusing to use it.
NIS games' insane Level caps which last I saw went from 9999 to just shy of one hundred million (99,999,999).
The sheer amount of Pokemon and the expectation to "catch them all" (which is why I wasn't able to play Ruby/Sapphire and dipped from the mainline games until Black/White; I've given up on "catching them all").
Romhacks and fangames that include the entire series pokedex and attempt to cram in multiple regions. One fangame I can think of has almost every mainline region and a few bonus areas. God damn, even just running each area and doing each gym without encountering any sideplot with Evil Teams will be insane.
Dwarf Fortress.
The higher level "sanity meter" hits in Eternal Darkness. The high tier sanity meter were designed to rattle the player, like making you think the game crashed or you lost your save file.
Losing my save file regardless of the reason. Looking at you, Nier.
When the freeware build of OneShot crashed. Because in the original version of the game, this killed Niko. If Niko dies (ex: poison gas field without mask) or you closed the game outside of a save point, that's it. The game refused to let you continue playing.
I Wanna Be The Guy.
Games with time limits. This can be stuff like Majora's Mask clock/schedule system or something like Pikmin's 'daily' setup or any farming sim / social game where you have to make choices based on each day (ex: Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley, Persona, Recettear, ect)
Enemies similar to Tonberries.
And the reason I'm saying all this: the idea of fighting two giant tonberries.

devlog #8 let's talk about potions and systems
there's been a lot of good brainstorming being done in the brainstorming discord (anyone is free to join, you'll get credit in the final game and i might buy you a pizza every now and then assuming i have the money for it). so let me go over some of the systems in GO INTO THE FUCKING DUNGEON that i feel confident talking about because i know i will implement them, in one way or the other.
1) exhaustion & camping
GITFD is a game about resource management - as i have phrased it, it's an "immersive sim survival game with light jrpg elements" (it is a first person dungeon crawler jrpg). you will likely not be able to survive the game using only basic attacks, and there are many meters that can be attacked - not just your HP, but your lamplight, your hunger, and your EP (Exhaustion Points). Spells are cast from a static EP meter that does not go up in most cases - everyone starts the game and ends the game with 5 EP. anything beyond basic attacks, throwing stuff, and talking uses up some EP. if you reach 0 EP, you gain a level of exhaustion and your EP re-fills. exhaustion lowers your stats and makes you get hungrier faster. if you run out of hunger meter you starve to death. so don't do that.
if you get enough exhaustion that it would drop your max HP to 0, you just die and can't be resurrected. so managing that is important.
anyway, there are *very* limited ways to restore EP and remove exhaustion. the primary way is via camping. it's sort of like darkest dungeon and sort of like D&D. each character gets two timeslots to do stuff. you can rest (each resting period removes xyz amount of exhaustion stacks). you can craft items. you can cook and eat meals. you can keep watch (and someone better or you'll get ambushed lol).
this is not the kind of rpg that lets you just make a bunch of bread rolls standing around in a hallway and then eat them all in one turn. that stuff takes time and a fire and tools. you can't just do that.
2) corpses
enemies do not drop pre-butchered chunks of meat for you. in fact they don't drop anything unless it would make sense for them to do so. what they do drop is corpses. and if you do not loot the corpses and take them back to camp, the corpses will attract other monsters (mostly scavengers). you can also drop corpses to do that on purpose, or throw corpses at things for shenanigans.
but anyway, yeah, corpses weigh a ton usually and you need to bring them with you to camp to butcher them to actually get meat, hide, animal parts, etc. if your inventory is too heavy then you don't get *visually* slowed down (which is a miserable experience), but instead you take fewer steps to count as an encounter tick, which means your lamplight and hunger decrease faster, because you're traveling slower.
3) potions & alchemy
in the game's alchemy system, players can create potions by combining two monster parts that share a matching effect and one chemical which you mine from the walls, find in chests, etc.. the monster parts are obtained from defeating creatures throughout the game and each part is associated with a specific effect, such as invisibility, healing, or strength enhancement. The chemicals, which are based on the non-courtly minor arcana (Ace through Ten), modify the potion's effect in various ways. for example, the Ace chemical always produces the basic "potion of xyz" effect, while other chemicals can split the effect, make it a group potion, increase its duration, turn it into a poison, and so on.
so, for example;
ace + invisibility = potion of invisibility (which also makes you take a penalty to hitting because you can no longer see yourself or aim)
two + invisibility = potion of half invisibility (makes you translucent)
three + invisibility = potion of group invisibility
four + invisibility = potion of long invisibility (lasts until you next make camp)
five + invisibility = poison of invisibility (apply to weapon, apply weapon to enemy, enemy becomes invisible)
six + invisibility = potion of duo invisibility (invisibility for you and the target)
seven + invisibility = potion of visibility (makes you or something you throw it at extremely visible)
eight + invisibility = potion of total invisibility (works on truesight!)
nine + invisibility = potion of permanent invisibility (permanently makes you invisible)
ten + invisibility = potion of perfect invisibility (gives you invisibility but without any of the downsides)
because i'm an asshole and i hate people having fun, potions are not given a name until the first time you experience their effects, only described as, for example, "green fizzy potion", and the colors and adjectives are randomized every run. so. you can and probably will quaff a Potion of Permanent Petrification or a Potion of Permanent Burning at least once, and it'll be really funny.

maybe unpopular opinion: i don't buy the post-s3 Hannigram dynamic where being Committed Murder Husbands means they're claustrophobically wrapped up in each other to the exclusion of all else and there are no important secondary characters anymore, just NPCs who shuffle briefly into their lives to do a little NPC schtick and then either get murdered or shuffle off
first of all because i think they do both genuinely like the people they like - Will cares about the handful of recurring people in his life even when he's a grumpy bastard man, and his habit of picking up strays isn't limited to dogs; Hannibal finds people interesting, appreciates good company and the chance to put on a show for any acquaintances in the vicinity, and is always on the lookout for murder protégés
second of all because i don't even think it's contestable that Hannibal, in particular, would have all the cabin fever tolerance of a too-clever bengal kitten that needs staggering amounts of enrichment in its enclosure to deter it from hunting you and all your favorite household items for sport
but most of all because their relationship isn't that type of claustrophobic - in fact, it relies heavily on triangulation with whichever third parties have caught one or both of their attention. they are always playing games, always testing each other, always tugging at the lines of influence to come up with new variations and reversals, always curious about what previously-unseen facets of each other can be drawn out by a fresh set of circumstances. and those games work best with some additional, unpredictable variables in the mix. maybe I'm alone in this, but i DO think they'd get bored if it were just the two of them.
yes they both have a possessive & obsessive streak, but i think it's important to remember that when Will says "you don't want me to have anything in my life that isn't you," it's not accurate (the original Murder Family plan is secretly still very much in place), it's not meant to be accurate, and i don't think it's pure projection of Will's own jealousy either. what it's meant to be is a half-truth that conceals the one specific lie he's most worried Hannibal will suss out: it follows on the heels of an accusation that Hannibal did a great job alienating him... from the exact allies Will is plotting Hannibal's downfall with in secret.
(yes, it's mingled with very real hurt - the same way his own possessiveness of Hannibal is mingled with a very practical desire to deny him allies and hostages. point is, there's an angle, and as usual it's hard to untangle the gameplay from the conflicting emotions that drive or derail it. their possessive hunger exists, but it also lives in eternal tension with their hunger to know each other, because it's through their dealings with others that they reveal themselves.)
anyway this is all the world's most long-winded way of saying that i think it'd be really fucking funny if they never did get around to having sex UNTIL one day they accidentally their way into a threesome
you thought the smug little barely-disguised quips about eating people were over? think again, the UST has finally been shattered and now there are two cannibals giving each other blowjobs in front of a partner who isn't even in on the joke

I got rid of HP.
I have been running my home ruleset for some folks, focusing more on travel this time. This ruleset was made within a philosophy of characters being translators for players. Essentially they are the method by which the player interacts with the world. Roleplay, tactics, etc all come second to that first goal of translation. One example of this is removing Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma from a D&D. Players don't need those translated since they can interact with the world with their personal "player stats" OR their own facsimile for those stats if they'd like to roleplay. Having said that, I got rid of HP.
If you think about it, removing HP doesn't exactly align with "characters as translators" or "player-centric characters". Afterall I am not attacking my players every time a goblin does. Weirdly enough I found the idea of HP and the legacy it has in the metatext of RPGs to be limiting, not that it didn't fit.
The game I was running was more focused on travel than your usual dungeon fare, and I think travel gets the short end of the stick from a systemic standpoint a lot of times. It either gets gamified to a point where the act of travel could be anything if you slapped a different coat of paint on it OR it is ignored and essentially only crops up when a random encounter happens in the crawl. Thus I decided to go a bit more simulationist for once, I just needed an impactful "dial to turn". HP is one of if not the most important dial, so I started there.
Stamina
Stamina is one part of the representation of a character's overall well-being. At its basest level, it represents your character's energy levels and how fatigued they are. Unlike HP it does not represent meat, and when a character runs out of it they do not necessarily die.
Determining starting Stamina.
At character creation, roll a number of D6 equal to the character's number of Traits. (We'll talk about Traits another time. For now, think of them something like Levels + Skills.) Do this again any time the character gains a new Trait. If the character's new Stamina total is less than or equal to their original value, add one to their original value and make that their new maximum Stamina.
Using Stamina.
A character must spend 1 Stamina to make any roll.
Any time a character moves from one hex to another they must spend 1 Stamina.
A character may spend 1 Stamina to gain +1 on a roll.
A character may reduce their maximum amount of Stamina by an item's Load to carry it.
Subtract damage dealt to a character from their Stamina.
Running out of Stamina.
If a character ever goes below 1 Stamina they pass out and gain a new Scar Trait.
Recovering Stamina
Eating recovers 1D6 Stamina + the Grade of the meal.
Sleeping recovers 1 Stamina plus the Grade of their resting situation (bedding, shelter, temperature, etc).
Magical means.
The above gives us a ton of flexibility in what we can use this very important mechanical dial for. We can track exertion, time, effort, exhaustion, hunger, etc. Technically we could call it HP and just treat it all like damage but sometimes renaming a metatextual pillar within a community can be more powerful than coming up with a wholly new mechanic.
Since I was focusing on Travel and making it a bit more simulationist, I decided I wanted to wear down characters, make choosing what you bring with you meaningful, and make upgrades to basic travel equipment impactful. Hence Stamina, Load (How much Stamina something costs to carry.), and Grade (How good this thing is at being that thing, eg the +2 in a "+2 Sword".).
Anywho, I got this schpeal out of my system and finally wrote something on here! I'll try to do it more. I have a longer post about "player-centric characters" in the drafts but I don't knkow if it will ever see the light of day. I'm having trouble putting it into words. Thanks for reading folks!

Developed/Published by: Supermassive Games Released: 25/08/2015 Completed: 04/10/2023 Completion: Everyone survived. Trophies / Achievements: 80%
It’s spooky season, so I thought I’d play some scary games and for whatever reason Until Dawn happened to be the one that bubbled to the top first.
I think when I was a kid who loved graphic adventures, I think this is what I thought video games would be. Cinematic experiences where you’re constantly making choices that have a meaningful (or not) effect on how the story goes forward. With Until Dawn, the tropes of horror are a perfect setting to ensure this kind of design doesn’t get out of hand: you can limit things almost to: who lives? Who dies?
Of course, there are still, simply, limitations to the form that I don’t think I was thinking about when I was 8 or whatever. Even if you stick close to the traditions of horror and make your cast an interchangeable group of arseholes who the player will be happy to see get offed, there’s only so much branching you can do, and then you also have to put in some stuff the player actually… plays. Which usually means… quick time events.
Isn’t it weird how they’re a thing? They’ve essentially existed since Dragon’s Lair in 1983, where you had to make a (barely) educated guess about which direction to push or which button to hit, and the main (only?) innovation in the last 40 years is that you know get told exactly what to do. And that happened literally about a year after Dragon’s Lair!
Does anyone like them? For me, they’re just an annoying bit where I have to remember which button is where on the controller. In an action game where succeeding at them matters, they are legitimately the worst way to engage me with the action–I’m not watching the cut-scene, I’m waiting for a horrible pop-up–and in a game like this, I think… why not just replace them with more choices? Choose if character A manages to perform the task or not because you want to see the story go one way or the other.
(And while you’re at it, only offer me the choices that are interesting. There’s a hilarious amount of climbing involving QTEs here to stretch things out.)
When I think about QTEs, I think it's telling that this was originally more focused on motion controls; I can imagine QTEs being more successful by actually going back to being more like Dragon’s Lair when played with (say) modern VR controllers. A character leaps to grab something, you throw your hand up and grab. Like Dragon’s Lair, though, that becomes complicated when there’s more than one option (do I do the motion to unsheath his sword, or run away? etc.) and here you just get stuck with Heavy Rain-style “Push R2 to open this door” and then you watch your hero awkwardly move their hand towards the door until you slip off R2 and they stop, creating the world’s most unconvincing human behavior.
Anyway, outside of QTEs, the play here largely features you… walking about slowly, usually following another character, and optionally picking up lore items (if you find them). Also something that feels like it could be almost entirely excised!
The thing about Until Dawn is, though, that the junky plot of “teens go to a cabin in the woods where a tragedy had previously occurred” is easily understandable and, dare I say it, enjoyable. The archetypes and tropes are all on show, and it’s actually fun to try and maneuver through the plot which is never really that surprising, but you don’t really need it to be. In fact, if if wasn’t for all the bits where you actually have to play it rather than making choices it’d be such a breezy wee experience; unfortunately, rather than going for a nice movie length it’s somewhat over-extended into ten episodic chapters, and I was disappointed when I finished it to have absolutely no hunger to play it again to see different things happen.
I suppose also, probably, because seams of the branching become a little too apparent towards the end. There’s a couple of characters who seem destined to die simply because the plot doesn’t do anything with them, and in the final sequences there’s only one character that really matters.
This is still pretty fun for a single run through though, and I imagine it’s much more so if you play it with a group and just see what happens. There’s a lot of jump scares, comedy gore and even a few moments of actual tension.
Will I ever play it again? I won’t, but I’m already considering running through The Quarry, which isn’t supposed to be as good, but there’s something enjoyable sometimes about playing games which are so “low effort” (well apart from the bloody QTEs.)
Final Thought: I wrote about Supermassive Games’ Hidden Agenda six years ago and gave it an absolute kicking–a game which I did play with a group. Should have played Until Dawn back then instead…

Im semi excited for the full Balders Gate 3 release in a month. I have no issue with the divinity style even if some aspects of it, such as the little amount of interesting stuff that comes from leveling up, arent the most exciting. My major concern is the performance side of things. First couple of hours I was fine, able to explore the beginning of the area with a constant 60 fps. Then it just kept dipping and dipping as I played, until I basically got to the end of the ea content barely able to keep a stable 30. With that teaser video they did of the actual Balders Gate city supposedly being massive and detailed, im worried that my computer wont be able to run it at all, let alone at a non eye straining frame rate. We'll see though I guess.
Minor complaints underneath
TLDR: Wish this game looked shittier but played better. I couldnt give two shits how realistic the models or environment if it was just really well tuned. Probably gonna be one of those "Devs bit off more than they could chew" situations that Ill end up getting angry at around the second half, finish, and never play again.
-Ive always hated the spellcasting system of most tabletops. Cast a spell and its gone, if it missed or failed then sucks to be you. Its not a fun idea, and I wish most of the spells were simply made weaker or placed on a cooldown rather than limited. That was what was cool about divinity, if you figured out some really cool combos then you wouldnt have to resort to resting every couple fights just to use them again. Sucks, especially since most stuff is subject to roll rng, so your big lv 3 spellslot ability means nothing cause dipshit beat the dc by chance. Even worse when alot of spells are channeled, so if your character gets hit even once and then proceeds to fail the concentration check the spell fizzles out. Lame shit.
-THE CAMERA. The camera is atrocious, and I dont know what they did differently compared to Divinity 2, but it is a nightmare to control. If you pan too far from your character theres this, like, invisible leash that sudden kills any further movement. It also hates and form of horizontal movement, which means if your character is really high up it wont go down, and if youre trying to look up a cliff it'll just rub the wall.
-The cast is underwhelming. You have a githyanki which is neat, but otherwise its literally two human guys, a half elf, and a vampire elf. Theres not a single dwarf, halfing, gnome, or even a tiefling in the party, which is super lame. They could have easily had a dwarf with the weird magical item hunger problem, or a tiefling vampire wouldve been funny as hell.
-While the variety of extra actions are cool (I cant count how many people Ive killed by shoving them off cliffs or into lava) but theyre really clunky. The environment has so much detail that shoving or shooting in a direction is at massive risk of being just caught on some stray rock or pillar.
-The AI for npcs is still as dumb as it used to be, had a slave get mad at me for shoving its captor into lava. Guys that have never pathed will suddenly turn around out of the blue, even had one person just t-pose and vanish.
-Most of the magical equipment I got wasnt very interesting. Even the adamantite stuff I got after the big fight in the forge was just a debuff on hit. I want silly shit, I want game breaking shit, I want more stuff like those weird tentacle grenades that pull people in.
-Very buggy, and with how big theyre saying the game is gonna be I dont think its any better on release, probably worse actually. I wouldnt have such issues with it if reloading the game didnt take thirty years to complete. Poor Shadowheart made a jump only to glitch out and plummet several stories mid way.

7 Ways To Eat Healthy
Tumblr media
Healthy eating is vital for your overall health. Making conscious choices regarding our food choices will give our bodies all the nutrients needed to function optimally. It isn't easy to locate the correct information when it comes to nutritious eating. In this article, we will look at seven ways you can incorporate healthy eating into your everyday routine. Once you aim to discover more details on wellness, you must browse cancer-pain site.
Develop Balanced Meals
When you create balanced meals, it is possible to ensure your body gets a range of nutrients. The plate of a balanced meal should contain the foods of each important food group, such as grains, fruits and veggies, protein, dairy, or alternatives to dairy.
Each food group provides distinct benefits, so it's important to incorporate them into your diet. The fruits and vegetables in your diet provide antioxidants, vitamins and minerals While cereals and grains are rich in fiber and energy. Dairy, or alternative dairy products contribute to bone health, and is crucial for muscle growth and repair.
While including all food groups the importance of portion control plays an important role in keeping the balance of your eating plan. Take note of the serving size in order to prevent overeating. Make use of smaller bowls, plates, and cups to help reduce the amount of food you consume and stop excessive eating.
Whole Foods Prioritized
It is important to prioritize whole foods in preference to processed the food you eat. Whole foods require minimal processing as they retain their fiber and nutritious nutrients naturally. Include whole grains, fruits and vegetables in your diet for important nutrients, vitamins, and antioxidants.
Include fruits and vegetables in your diet
The main sources of nutrition are fruits and vegetables. Try to incorporate a range of colors in your diet, as different hues represent different nutritional profiles. These colorful foods are abundant in vitamins, minerals, and fiber. They can help reduce the risk of chronic diseases and boost general well-being.
Choose Lean Healthy Proteins Sources
Protein is required by the body for growth and to repair tissue. It also plays an important role in a variety of body activities. Choose lean sources of protein like chicken skinless, fish, beans, tofu or nuts. They're high in essential amino acids, and lower in fat.
Avoid Processed Food Products
The processed foods are often loaded with processed sugars, unhealthy fats and high levels of sodium. In excess consumption of processed food may lead to an increase in weight, a higher likelihood of developing chronic illnesses, as well as nutritional deficits. Aim to limit your intake of processed snacks, sugary drinks, fast food and other convenience items as well as opting for home-cooked food whenever you can.
Keep Hydrated
It is essential for the body to perform efficiently. The body's temperature is controlled by water and promotes overall well-being. Make sure you drink eight glasses of water per day and increase your intake in hot weather or during physical activity.
Take Your Time Eating And Exercising
Our lives are hectic and we often rush through meals without truly savoring or appreciating the food we eat. Mindful eating is about being conscious of your food as well as paying attention to flavor, texture and indicators of hunger and fullness. The mindful eating approach helps to build healthy connections with food as well as helps stop overeating.
Bottom Line
Eating healthy isn't a complicated or limiting undertaking. The key to a better existence by incorporating the seven strategies listed in the previous paragraphs into your routine. Be sure to make well-balanced meals, take advantage of healthy foods that are whole, include fruit and vegetables, opt for lean protein sources, limit processed foods, stay hydrated and eat mindfully. Small changes can yield substantial long-term benefits for your overall health.

will there be a limited amount of exploring you can do in a day? will there be a rollover system? how long would you plan for dailies to take on average? do you think there will be a way to auto-care for your cats, if you have the food/toys to do so anyway, or will having to care for them all be a way to naturally limit how large players' colonies get? (the phrasing of that makes it seem like i support such a thing, whoops; i personally prefer the option to auto-care for them, to save my hands the repetitive strain)
There will be an energy system limiting how much exploring you can do at a time. Our goal is to have much fewer, more meaningful encounters than many other petsites do in similar features, where each one plays as a miniature text adventure with multiple branching paths and outcomes. How many you can do at one time and how fast energy regenerates will be tuned after that system is built.
There will be a manual rollover system, since that is completely necessary for any game that can have your pets die due to age. Almost everything tied to player account will operate off this system, and anything that doesn't will have some kind of fallback so that nothing too bad can happen just from being idle.
We want it to be trivially easy to do dailies and basic care unless your colony is quite expansive. I'm always happiest with sites where I can be done with dailies in less than 20 minutes, but have features to keep me occupied for essentially as long as I want to play. And that doesn't and shouldn't include the activity of "waiting for cooldowns"! Cooldowns are fine and will certainly be present but I really want to have plenty of things to actively engage in.
While there may be interactions you can do with each individual cat for a bonus, basic maintenance should not require going through all of them every day. Our currently planned system involves feeding occurring via prey points (much like FR's food points) so that will be one-and-done, and cats will only lose mood via interactions with other systems rather than it decreasing a set amount every day.
For example, hunger, untreated injuries or illness, or being defeated in battle are some things that could decrease a cat's mood. Cats just hanging out in your den will not lose mood. My tentative thoughts are that fixing the root cause will give them some mood back, and if a cat's needs are met then they will gain a bit of mood back every rollover. This means that items which actively increase mood may be on the rarer side.

World Food Day (No. 2)
Where would we be without food? We certainly wouldn’t be at Starbucks, grocery stores or restaurants. We wouldn’t, in fact, be anywhere for very long, because we need food to live. Food is seen as a basic human right, and yet one in nine people globally experience chronic hunger. As far back as 1945 the United Nations recognized food as not a privilege, but a right, and that’s why they created World Food Day, observed annually on October 16, in 1979. It’s a day of observance to draw attention to the plight of the hungry. So, today, join us in eradicating hunger.
How to Observe World Food Day
Give to a local food bank
Support small scale farms
Raise money to end hunger
In the United States it's estimated 1 in 7 people rely on food banks as their primary or supplemental food source—many of these are working families who suffer from underemployment and cannot afford the groceries needed to help their family live healthfully. The top requested items for food banks are healthy, non-perishable items high in protein, such as canned or dry beans, peanut butter, rolled oats, low-sodium soups and vegetables and tuna canned in water.
Ninety-eight percent of the farms in the world are family farms. They usually practice sustainable agriculture with plants that are indigenous to the area, rotating crops and limited use of pesticides. Sadly, many family farmers are unable to produce the variety of crops needed for their own survival and without support, can suffer from malnutrition themselves. On World Food Day, shop locally and support family farms.
On World Food Day there are typically a number of food drives. If you don’t know of a local food drive, organize one yourself and donate the food to a local food drive. Globally there are hunger walks, World Food Day dinners or food packaging rallies. Get involved and let’s end world hunger!
Why World Food Day is Important
It helps raise awareness
It’s a reminder hunger can be ended
It brings attention to eating mindfully
Millions of people suffer the health consequences of malnourishment, which damages growing bodies and brains. That's why it's important to draw attention to this health crisis—and by doing so, ensure food security and availability of nutritious foods to everyone on the planet.
Our planet currently produces enough food to feed every person on the planet. However, 1.3 billion tons of food is lost or wasted annually (that's roughly 20% of the food produced). World Food Day acts as an impetus to get involved, reduce food waste, and help provide sustenance for millions.
Food is a great source of pleasure and entertainment, but sometimes we can overindulge. if we return to the focus of eating mindfully we can reduce the amount food that's wasted and the number of people going to bed hungry. World Food Day serves as a reminder to refrain from overeating and to make choices that are ecologically sustainable.

Sinful From The Start
A Seven Generation Challenge
By @saylorsimming
This Challenge is based on the Seven Deadly Sins. I hope you enjoy playing it as much as I had fun creating it.
Info:
*A few of the listed traits are CC. Primarily, I used game traits, but in some instances there were just none specific enough.
*I list 5 traits for each generation. Which is possible through a Mod or they can be added with a cheat code when you go to live mode. Or just use three if you prefer. They are listed in no particular order.
*The cc\mods I used are from KiaraSims4Mods and chingyu. I recommend all of them to round out your Sims personalities. But they are optional.
*Generally, don’t use money cheats… It makes the game more interesting if there is a grind.
*The first generation should start with the standard amount for a new household.
*Its fine for following generations to inherit their parents money, (except for 6. Sloth) but it’s more fun if you limit their starting funds to $2,000 or less (excluding their house).
*Feel free to change things around to suit your play preference. It is just a game, after all.
*Setting your Sims to Long Life or adding 5 days to each life stage, (except baby) through MCCC is recommended. It’s hard to complete child aspirations on normal span. Also, I tried to make this interesting and a little difficult. In my opinion, it’s not a challenge, if it isn’t challenging!!

Magical Entropy - Chronic Condition Concept
Manifestation of Magic Entropy - MME
A rare magical illness developed when a child first develops their magic energy. This illness causes a person's magic energy to be unstable and cause their magic energy to fluctuate to levels where the body may be unable to contain it. While these types of massive fluctuations are rare, they are fatal. There is no 'cure' for MME, only ways to reduce & channel the fluctuations. Most of these methods are pendants created to control magic flow and storage, and special medicines that can directly inhibit or increase magic energy to keep levels stable. While both options help to massively decrease the possibility of a fatal fluctuation, they can still occur.
Symptoms / Side-effects - common symptoms of MME are dizziness, headaches, shortness of breath, and chest pains. Symptoms vary depending on fluctuation severity.
OFA (Omega Flux Attack): when the magic energy level dips to extreme amounts. Levels can fall below average and below what the body is normally used to, and in extreme cases, decrease the level enough that the body's normal energy system is tapped into to compensate. Considering the nature of magic energy, it takes a lot of "normal" energy to make up what magic energy is lost. In severe cases, cause short term coma and even bodily failure due to lack of proper energy to fuel necessary systems.
Symptoms of a decrease/lower flucs - lack of energy, dizziness, lightheadedness, lack of awareness, increased susceptibility to illness, fainting, increased hunger, weaker body control.
AFA (Alpha Flux Attack): when the magic energy in a person's body climbs and exceeds what the body can currently handle. If severe, can cause extreme fluctuations and cause a death similar to that of a heart attack or stroke. Same as Omega Attacks, symptoms can vary depending on severity.
Symptoms of an increase/higher flucs- headaches, increased chest pain, muscle aches, coughing (blood if severe), shortness of breath, trouble breathing, nausea.
Attacks & treatments - MME flux attacks can occur at random, & vary in intensity. Ways to treat attacks involve deep, controlled breathing & magic channeling. In case of an OFA, place hands deep breaths & stop moving as much as possible until it ends. In cases of AFA, the best course of action is to expel as much energy as possible, by channels through matter or pure release, and use as much energy before it can cause a bodily reaction. Or have an item or medicine to sap the energy away as quickly as possible to keep it from overflowing.
Medicines are rare since the condition is extremely rare and documentation is limited. However, current medicines are a series of potions that can increase, decrease, and stabilize a person’s magical energy reserves. Usually, the ones increasing and decreasing energy are taken when necessary to treat the appropriate symptom. The stabilizing potion is taken daily to hopefully keep the chances of an extreme fluctuation attack low. However, it is not perfect and extreme fluctuation attacks can occur. ((This is the condition I made up for Alan and wanted to share since I think it's a fun one))
