Summary: Rock Lee has been your not so secret crush for as long as you can remember. You’re determined to take it to your grave, but what happens when you’re drunk at a karaoke bar doesn’t stay at the karaoke bar...

The music was loud, the room was dark, and everyone was there. How long had it last been since everyone was able to get together?

The life of a shinobi was a busy, dangerous one. There was little time for laugh and play, especially as you all got older. It was easier when you’d just graduated from the academy. All of the missions given to new genin were level D to C, little things like gardening or finding lost pets that didn’t take much time or require you to even leave the village. It was easy for everyone to find time to get together and hang out.

But as time passed, things changed. Everyone’s ranks were different, some people like Shikamaru took up more political roles in the village. It was easy to drift apart without even realizing it.

So tonight was one of those rare moments where the stars aligned and the old group was able to get together to hang out.

The venue of choice; a karaoke bar.

It was the first time you were all able to drink together… Well, legally at least.

“Thanks, Kiba.” You giggled, giving him a flirtatious wink as you took the drink he’d just bought you, sipping it. Did you like Kiba? No. But was he fun to flirt with? Absolutely. And if that flirting led to him wanting to buy your drinks for you, well, who were you to deny him?

Kiba was cute; that wasn’t the problem. Heck, most of the guys from the Leaf were cute and way too easy to get along with. You’d known them practically your whole life, grown up together even, but despite all their great qualities, it was only one shinobi who had your heart, and he didn’t even know it. 

The first time you’d seen Lee was before the first test in the Chunin exams. He had easily taken on Naruto and Sasuke without batting an eye. He was so swift, so smooth, you’d watched him in awe. He was a bit eccentric, but had a focus and prowess you’d never experienced before. You thought he was amazing.

You were content to watch him from afar until the preliminaries. During his fight with Gaara, you’d held your breath, watched in horror and amazement as he took on the demon of the sand. You didn’t think you breathed once during that battle.

Lee lost, was almost killed by Gaara before Guy stopped him, but it was the best you’d ever seen someone fight in your life.

Timidly and nervously, you visited Lee in the hospital that day. He was unconscious, but in stable condition. You didn’t know what motivated you, but you began to visit every day, leaving flowers and small treats for Lee to wake up to.

When he finally had woken, you were trying to slink out of the room quietly when you heard him speaking, causing you to freeze in your tracks. 

“Who are you?”

Apprehensively, you turned to face Lee with a small smile. You’d never been shy, but there was something about Lee that made you weak-kneed.

After introducing yourself, you went back to his bedside. “I just wanted to tell you that I think you’re very strong. You’re so skilled and quick; I think you’re the best ninja I’ve ever seen…”

You were only thirteen, didn’t have much experience in the ninja world, so the words you spoke were true. You didn’t know if telling him that, as a total stranger, would make him think you were weird.

Imagine your shock when Lee burst out in happy tears.

It was the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

You supported Lee in his recovery, and even when he couldn’t go on missions himself, he cheered you on from the sideline.

From the very beginning, it was evident to everyone in the village that you were head-over-heels for Lee. Your quiet bashfulness when Lee was around was a stark contrast to your usual loud and confident self. Everyone knew about your crush.

Everyone except for Lee.

“Why don’t you just tell him?” Tenten asked you once. “You never know.”

But you’d only shaken your head. “He loves Sakura. Everyone knows that.” You told her. “Besides. We’re friends. I don’t want to ruin that friendship.”

So despite your friendliness, your flirtatious nature, and the fact that you could have just about any of the rookie nine wrapped around your finger if you so pleased, you weren’t interested in any of them.

Rock Lee was the only one that had your heart and he didn’t even know it. He never would.

Instead of focusing on that, or the cute way Lee’s cheeks went red after he took a shot, or how Lee spent a lot of time that night talking to Sakura, you took shots with Ino and Tenten and let Kiba buy you drinks and danced with Choji when he asked.

Overall, the night was going great. Everyone was having a good time and getting along and so far only Naruto had gotten just a little too drunk; everyone else was riding a nice buzz.

Shikamaru had just finished a less than enthusiastic rendition of “The Lazy Song” that had left everyone doubled over laughing at the irony. “Who should go next!?” Naruto yelled, looking around to see who still hadn’t sung a song.

And okay, maybe Naruto wasn’t the only one who had drank just a little too much. Watching Lee sit and laugh with Sakura the past hour had left you feeling just a tad bit jealous, leading you to drink more than you normally would. He’d barely said anything to you that, and the two of you were supposed to be friends.

“What’s so good about Sakura anyways? She’s really not that great.” You swished the liquid in your cup, mumbling the words you knew you would regret the next morning. Sakura had never been anything but nice to you; you knew she didn’t deserve to be the target of your jealousy. 

Ino snickered. “Geez you’ve got it bad.” She commented with a roll of her eyes before hearing Naruto’s question. Her eyes lit up, and, grinning, she hurried to the microphone, looking through the book of songs available to sing. She flipped through for a moment or two before turning to Naruto and whispering something to him.

All of this escaped your attention as you were drowning in the misery of your own thoughts before you realized: everyone was chanting your name. You blinked, looking around to see everyone staring at you, pounding on tables and counters as they encouraged you to get up and sing.

Laughing, you shook your head nervously, not wanting to go embarrass yourself before Lee caught your eye. Even he was encouraging you to go up and perform. Well, if he wanted you to, then you would sing your heart out!

You downed two more shots before pushing to your feet, which was an obvious mistake.

The alcohol always hit hardest after you stood up.

“Woah, there.” Tenten laughed, standing to help you. Somehow, you made it to the stage. Naruto snickered as he passed you the microphone. He couldn’t wait to see this.

You held the microphone tightly in your hands as your eyes scanned the room with all your friends staring expectantly at you and cheering you on. You felt good. Really good. Your vision was blurry, head dizzy, stomach warm, and everything about you was giddy. It was your turn, and you were ready to make a statement. 

Glancing at the screen, you saw the name of the song appear. Heart Attack by Demi Lovato.

“I’m gonna dedicate this song to someone very special to me,” You slurred into the microphone, giggling. Your friends in the crowd whooped and cheered as the music began. 

“This one’s for you Lee!”

With that, you closed your eyes to block out the reactions of everyone and everything, and you sang. You sang your little heart out, put on the drunken performance of a lifetime. Your years of pent up feelings and nerves and fears surrounding Lee all went into that song.

As you sang the last word, you opened your eyes again, taking in everyone’s reaction. Glee, surprise, happiness. You were grinning; you’d killed it.

That was when your eyes landed on Lee. It was hard for you to gage his reaction. More than anything he looked… confused. And that was when the weight of what you’d just done settled on you. Oh shit.

You’d all but confessed your feelings for Lee… Drunkenly… In front of everyone.

The realization was all it took for you to sober up. Quickly, you shoved the microphone back into Naruto’s hands and fled the karaoke bar.

You weren’t really sure how you’d even made it home. Everything was kind of blurry. You remember running from the karaoke bar, a girl’s voice, probably Tenten’s, calling after you. You remember vomiting. A lot. That’s actually what you were doing now. You’d woken up with your head basically in the toilet.

You could have gone for some blissful moments where you didn’t remember what had caused you to sprint home from the bar, but alas, you couldn’t forget.

You’d confessed your years long crush through song.

How were you ever going to face Lee again?

You wouldn’t, you decided. You would spend the rest of your life in that house. You could have your groceries delivered, you weren’t going to need new clothes if you never went outside. You would just lay in your bed until you withered away into nothingness.

“You can’t stay in here forever,” Tenten rolled her eyes, tugging the blanket that you were hiding under off the bed.

“Watch me,” you whined in reply, holding a pillow over your head. “I totally embarrassed myself! He probably thinks I’m so lame!”

Tenten could only snicker at that. “Lee? Thinking you’re lame? Right.”

It took a bit of convincing, and you were basically kicking and screaming, but Tenten was able to drag you out of your home back into the real world. “No one’s going to care,” She assured you as the two of you walked. “We were all plastered. I’m sure no one will even remember!”

If only that were true. 

“Hey!” Kiba called as he and Naruto approached you and Tenten. “Have you guys seen Lady Tsunade around here? I have this pain in my chest…”

Naruto grabbed Kiba’s arm in mock fear. “Oh no! Kiba, are you having a heart attack!?” 

The two of them doubled over in hysterics; tears were even streaming down their faces. You could feel your face burning red in embarrassment. You’d never wanted to disappear so badly. 

“Beat it you two!” Tenten snapped, grabbing your arm and pulling you away. “Ignore them! They’re idiots!”

Head buried in your hands, you shook your head. “God! How am I ever going to live this down! I’m going home!” You pulled out of Tenten’s grip. “I’m going to move villages, change my name, and make sure Lee never sees my face again!”

“Uh, well, if that’s the case you better run…” Tenten said awkwardly, nudging you. “Because Lee’s coming this way…”

And there he was. In his green jumpsuit, bowlcut and all, Lee was heading straight for you. God you were sure you were going to vomit again.

“Good morning Tenten,” Lee greeted, though nowhere near in his usual upbeat tone. “Would you mind giving us a moment alone?” He asked. Tenten glanced over at you nervously.

“Yeah… Sure Lee…”

“I do not understand it, Sakura.” Lee sighed, toying with the drink in his hands as his eyes were locked on you drinking and laughing with Tenten and Ino. “I have never had any issue telling you that I think you are beautiful. But with her… It is different.”

Sakura giggled, feeling the drink in her own veins. “Because, Lee. You like her like her. You should just tell her!” Even drunk, Sakura would never betray your trust by telling Lee the obvious; that you liked him as much as he liked you. But it was infuriating to sit on both sides listening to the two of you cry over your feelings day after day and not tell you!

Lee shook his head, taking a gulp from his drink. “I cannot. I am not like Guy Sensei, as much as I try to be. I am not cool or good looking. I do not think I am smooth. I do not know how to talk to a girl I like.”

It took everything in Sakura not to burst out laughing. Guy Sensei? Cool? Good looking? Smooth?

“This is ridiculous. How much longer do I have to hear about how great you think she is before you finally tell her?!”

Rock Lee could barely hear Sakura; he was zoned in on you. Everything about you entranced Lee from the very first time he saw you trying to sneak out of his hospital room. You were beautiful, of course. Your hair always seemed to fall just right. Your smile brightened up a room. The kindness in your heart radiated from you. He loved how confident and outgoing you were and that you had an energy that could match his.

It wasn’t like Lee hadn’t tried to tell you before. There were plenty of times when it was just the two of you that he was tempted, but he could never get it out. There just weren’t many people that he connected so easily with. Guy Sensei was his idol; he wanted to be just like his sensei! But that wasn’t the same as having a friend. Even with his teammates, there was a level of professionalism to it all--maybe thanks to Neji--that kept him from feeling like he could truly be understood. 

But with you, everything was so easy. Laughing came easily, talking and opening up about the things he struggled with… There was a naturalness to it he’d never experienced before. He was terrified to lose it. 

So that night at the karaoke bar, he sat with Sakura whining about the same thing he had been for months now instead of doing something about it. That wasn’t like Lee at all, but that was what you did to him. You made him so nervous he couldn’t even be him.

He was sure you knew his eyes were locked on you all night, ogling like a total weirdo. He’d barely even talked to you. He had hoped that the alcohol would loosen him up and spur him into action, but he’d just shut down even more, causing him to wallow in his own self pity.

Why couldn’t he be more like Kiba? He was over there, so smooth and cool, grinning and chatting you up and buying you drinks. Lee wanted to be that guy to you!

“Oh, look! She’s gonna sing next!” Sakura nudged Lee, nodding at the stage where you were grasping the microphone. You were clearly inebriated, and the redness in your cheeks just made you look all the cuter to him.

“I’m gonna dedicate this song to someone very special to me!” Lee’s heart dropped into his stomach. He couldn’t even hope that he would be the one that you would devote a song to. So when it was his name that had left your mouth, he sat in there in a state of shock. It wasn’t even dawning on him. Sakura shook his shoulder excitedly as you belt out the lyrics to Heart Attack. 

“Lee, she’s singing to you!” 

It just couldn’t process. Was it the alcohol? Was it the absolute surprise at what was happening? Whatever it was, by the time you had finished, Lee had continued to stare at you, open mouthed. It was only when you’d sprinted out of the bar that Lee had come to his senses.

He’d done his best to follow you, but he was drunker than he thought and had stumbled around just a little too long. By the time he’d gotten himself straightened out, you were long gone.

He’d stayed up all night long thinking about it, thinking about you. 

The whole night, he turned it over and over again in his mind; what else could that have meant other than you liked him back? It was too good to be true! But it was true? Lee drove himself mad.

The goal with his walk wasn’t necessarily to find you. Moreso, he had just wanted to clear his head, maybe get advice from Guy Sensei. But he’d ran into you and Tenten before he could do any of that.

As Tenten gave the two of you space, he stared at you bashfully. The longer the silence went on, the redder his cheeks became. Just as he was getting up the courage to say something, you broke the ice.

“Lee, look. About last night… I’m sorry. That was so embarrassing! I was just so drunk and… I wasn't thinking straight.” You were rambling on nervously, scratching the back of your head and avoiding his gaze, acting like you wanted to laugh the whole thing off. 

Lee nodded slowly, letting your words sink in. So… He had misread the whole thing, then? The thought hit him like a blow to the stomach, taking the breath straight out of him. That sucked. “Right, of course!” He said quickly. “It is okay, really. I had drunk a lot as well!”

How did he get out of here? Lee was tempted to drop the weights from his ankles and take off running as fast as he could.

The discomfort was plain on his face, though. You knew Lee well; you could tell something was wrong.

You had to drop your playful facade. You felt like you’d really screwed things up. “Are… Are you mad at me?” You finally asked him quietly.

The question startled Lee. He frowned, tilting his head. “Why would I be upset with you? You are my friend.” You could only shrug helplessly. You were sad and embarrassed and confused, and now Lee was upset. Of course you thought it was your fault. You didn’t know that couldn’t be farther from the truth.

The silence was heavy, making you sigh and shake your head. “Well, uh, I should go meet up with Tenten again…” You mumbled, staring at the floor. After this, she definitely couldn’t drag you out of your bedroom again.

You lifted your hand, waving goodbye before turning away. You didn’t get more than a step away before Lee was grabbing your arm, his body reacting quicker than his mind. “Wait. Please.”

Of course you stopped, turning back to face him. You were too fearful to be hopeful, unwilling to get excited for something that wouldn’t happen, but you held your breath anyways as you stared up at him.

“I was not completely honest. I am upset, it is just not with you…” When you didn’t respond, only continued to stare at him with those earnest eyes, he had no choice but continue. He dropped your arm, his hand going to nervously rub at the back of his neck instead. He didn’t know how to do this, but he had the feeling it was now or never.

“The truth is, yesterday when you sang that song, and you said you were dedicating it to me, I believed it was because you had feelings for me. So just now, when you said you were not thinking straight, it made me upset because I have feelings for you. I was hoping that you would tell me that you felt the same…”

You didn’t think you’d ever seen Lee so red before. It was like a cartoon, the way it creeped up from his chin all the way to his forehead, shooting up like a thermometer. You could only imagine that you looked the same. Your face felt like it was on fire. 

It took a moment for it all to sink in. There was a pause before it dawned on you; Lee just confessed that he had feelings for you! He liked you! The giddiness sent trembles through you as you broke out into a huge grin that you couldn’t stop.

“Lee, you idiot!” You laughed, smacking his arm. “I do like you! That’s the whole reason I humiliated myself in front of everyone yesterday!”

You know that look that Lee gets when he’s happy? His pupils dilate, glistening like googly eyes. The blush dusts the tops of his cheeks, he even gets a bit teary eyed.

All classic Lee and exactly what you got after your confession.

“I cannot believe it!” He cried, pulling you into a hug and twirling you around without hesitation. Now that he had confirmation about how you felt, any inhibitions he had been harboring were gone just like that. He wasn’t going to waste another moment not showing you exactly how he felt. “I have wanted to tell you for so long! I just did not think you felt the same way! This is fantastic!”

Lee’s enthusiasm was as contagious as ever. It didn’t take long before you were hugging Lee back and laughing along with him. When he finally calmed down, Lee released you, taking your hands in his instead and grinning at you.

“So does this mean you will go on a date with me?”

“Is that you asking me?” You giggled. Lee nodded enthusiastically. “Then yes; of course I will.”

Lee pulled you into another hug. “Would you like to know something?” He questioned, giggling childishly, so of course you nodded. “I almost had a heart attack asking you that question!”

The groan was immediate as you pulled away, smacking your forehead. “Lee!” You whined, cringing in embarrassment. “I am also having a heart attack trying to work up the nerve to do this…” For a guy that was so fast, he moved agonizingly slow as he leaned down to press his lips to yours. A heart attack, huh? Yeah, you were never going to live that down. But if this was the price to pay, well then, you didn’t mind all that much.

Keith stared at the tiny kittens surrounding him, he froze in place and looked up to you as a plea of help witch was rudely declines when you started snickering before bursting out into laughter. Soon the whole crew joined in on laughing at Keith with a bunch of kittens. Pidge was snapping pictures and uploading it to their Instagram, Lance was recording a tiktok, Shiro was trying to get the cats off of Keith, Hunk was laughing, and you where adding more cats to the pile on his lap. “Y/N DON’T ENCOURAGE THEM!” Shiro scolded. You rolled your eyes before grabbing a small black and white kitten and placing it on Keith’s lap. The crew had decided to meet up after band practice and stay at your house. Little did they all know that you fostered animals, you had a couple of dogs and Birds but you mainly fostered cats cause they look so fucking cute.

“But it fuuunnnn!” You wine, only making Hunk laugh even harder until he was literally on the ground laughing so hard.

“They are kind of cute…” Keith muttered as he stared at the cats and back at you and then back at the cats.

“Why don’t Keith and I go to get some cat stuff at the mall, you three can make yourselves at home by the way!” You called as you dragged Keith into your car and hopped in the drivers side.

“Oh no…” Keith muttered as he stared wide eyed at you starting the car.

“What?”

”Oh, yeah I am driving!”

“LET ME OUT OF HERE!!!!”

You locked the car doors and started to drive on there highway. Keith relaxed a bit as he thought that you where going to be normal

As soon as you saw all the muscles sink into the car seat you smirked and pulled up a radio station. Since Keith hasn’t been with you in the car before (for a good reason since everyone that has let you drive a car was gotten sick) he didn’t know that you LOVES music. Character Commentary - Sasuke Uchiha - Part 1

PART 2

I really started this blog just to write about how I feel about characters in Naruto series. And I feel Sasuke should be the first pick since he really subverted all my expectations time to time. Since this is a lengthy series which spans more than 500 episodes, I would like to divide into many parts since a single post won’t do any justice. While this is just a commentary, I am just going make a series of posts without my shipping goggles ON and as it progresses you can see how I started to ship gradually. Let’s go.

Me : Ahhh!!!! Here we go... A typical hero who is cold and cool just like the ones you see in K Dramas, C Dramas where girls fawn over him and he simply ignores everyone. Since this came out in 2002, probably Naruto set this trend???? Anyways, not my cup of interest. I have seen 100s of characters like this and am tired, man. I’ll probably stick with Naruto who just graduated against all odds. 

Since he is a No.1 Rookie, probably he is better at ninja skills than Naruto which makes up an interesting dynamics.

My reaction for Sasuke is exactly how Naruto looks below:

Me : I, too, want to know. Naruto!!! What’s so great???

By the way who is that annoying girl, fawning over this guy who clearly don’t even returns her Good Morning but pushing Naruto away like a garbage!!!! Phewww!!! A guy glaring at another guy with enmity. Why is she annoyed with that? What’s her beef anyway? It’s a guy thing, you dumbass. Oops!!! this is not a Sakura commentary..

Aaaaaand then this happens......

Me: It’s an unexpected twist, even to me who have seen Game of Thrones. 

And not only that what’s more surprising was this

Me: Yo Sasuke!!!! With your looks and attitude, I was hoping that you are going to punch him to pulp. Not to give him an empty threat.

As expected, Naruto clearly doesn’t like Sasuke in his team. And Sasuke doesn’t care either way. 

Me: By the way, Naruto, Why do you keep bugging Sasuke anyway? You even went as far to instigate a fight??? Anyways, Sasuke tied you up finally.

Ahh Sakura!!! Why don’t you be nicer to Naruto?? He is just asking for you to have lunch together.

Me: Ahh Jerk!!! So that was all an act to be cool and aloof while in reality you are playing Tsundere. Shit!!!! I am tired of this type of characters even more!!!

Me: Ohooooo!!!!! So That was Naruto!!! A deadlast beat a top rookie.... Hmmm Interesting!!!! But funny.

Naruto!!! Your pranking ability is way beyond what I can Imagine!!! 

Me: Hmm!!! Naruto... Sasuke is just going to beat up the shit out of you and looking for you!!

Me: Sakura... You Bitch!!! Do you have any idea what you are talking? You are just badmouthing your teammate to another one regarding a sensitive topic which offends both of them. If you really want his kiss, I imagined you would be familiar enough to know that Sasuke is the sole survivor of his clan. So, clearly you don’t know anything about him but already expecting a token of love!!! Pathetic!!!. And yet if, by any chance, you do know about his tragedy and yet badmouth like that, you are even worse than garbage. Even a 8 year old me, knew not to talk about something when others don’t have it. Geez....Annoying!!!

Also Me: Woooow!!!!!! Sasuke..... You really are not a jerk or some aloof person. I like the way you gave a murderous stare and put that annoying bitch in her place. Well done!!! But wait........ Why are you standing up for Naruto??? Didn’t he just kissed you in front of your classmates and openly voiced his dislike for you being in his team and beat you up for no reason???? Maybe you know about him after all. 

Me: Sasuke!!!!! You really are a good guy... Atleast I hope so for the rest of the series... You just spoke my mind...

Me: Are you really not going to beat him up???? Sasuke??? If I were you I wouldn’t have openly stood up for Naruto. Maybe a disgusting glare at Sakura for her mean comment and that’s about it. And definitely not leave Naruto off the hook for what he did. Anyways..... My opinion of you was subverted by a wide margin. Interesting!!!! Unlike those girls, who were vying for your attention, whom you were clearly annoyed with.....for you it doesn’t seems to be the same case with Naruto  even though I feel like he is bugging you!!!

Well i don’t have to come up with how you guys got together so this is a win

He won’t exactly help you speak up to others but he will want you to be comfortable enough to have conversations with at least him

He might get annoyed at how shy you are sometimes, since that either results in silence, you stuttering or not speaking loud enough to be heard, or him having to answer whatever question for you

Won’t exactly help you but will try to make it so your in more comfortable situations

Might say a thing or two and without realizing it boost your confidence

Or crush it

His words either help you or they destroy you depending on your personality

Without realizing it he does get soft for you tho

speaks in a softer tone and will give you small headpats or hugs

only when no one is looking though

-Nara Shikamaru-

Out of these three characters, shikamaru probably cares the least that your super shy

Helps you gain confidence in his own ways but never does anything to make you to uncomfortable

I’d assume that since you guys are together you would be more open and less shy, at least a bit

He loves just chatting with you and hanging out

He loves to see the shyness fade away and for you just to laugh and have a good time

Shikamaru not exactly shy himself, he just doesn’t like spending the effort to contribute to whatever conversations that are happening when he’s out with friends

If you guys hang out with others, he’d hold small conversations just with you in the background

Honestly might just take you and dip so you can have more alone time

Whenever you get quiet or stutter he probably finds that kinda cute but won’t ever admit that

he gets so proud when he sees you speak up without help

you start a conversation by yourself bro he’s smiling so much

but quickly coughs to hide how happy he is

-Uchiha Madara-

Definitely met you through Hashirama, probably by accident too

Hashirama tries to step out the way but you kept hiding behind him

the senju laughs and say you always were shy

but like how could you not be? this wasn’t just some friend of his, this was Uchiha freaking Madara!

His simple glance towards you threw away any chance you had to speak

after running from suna because kankurō declared intent to court her, sakura ran back to konoha to ask the one man that wouldn’t question her intentions, or at least she thought he wouldn’t

or, the time that sakura asked kakashi to fake date her so she could escape the clutches of a political union and found herself in another political union

If it were anything to wake up Hatake Kakashi like a cold bucket of water despite the obvious lack of said bucket of cold water, it would be the frantic, pink haired woman who bulldozed into his apartment at kami knows in the morning. He was almost positive the birds weren’t even awake at this hour so why should his favorite teammate be?

“Hrrghh,” the half-asleep former jōnin groaned, rolling over on his nest that Sakura could barely discern as a proper bed. “Mah, Sakura… why?”

“I’m sorry, Kakashi, but it’s urgent.” She hissed, arms crossed over her chest as she leered down at him, still breathing heavily from her break in.

“What-“ He glanced at the ticking clock on the shelf that lined the wall underneath the window that Sakura was currently perched in. “- are you doing here at – does that say three? Sakura, why are you here at three in the morning?”

If the situation weren’t so dire, maybe Sakura would’ve laughed but seeing as it wasn’t and she really needed him to agree, she stayed silent.

“Please, Kakashi,” she whimpered, mentally sulking for stooping so low but if it was what made him tip in her favor, then so be it.

“Whose ass is out to get yours that you needed a fake boyfriend anyway?” He grumbled, pulling his shuriken blanket higher on his face.

She silently slipped further into the room and now leaned against the desk that was opposite his bed. If Kakashi were even looking at her, he would have noticed her crestfallen face. “It’s, um, Sabaku no Kankurō.” She mumbled, chin almost completely buried in her jōnin vest.

Two dark gray eyes opened abruptly and slide over to the moonlit kunoichi standing in the room. Her ethereally vibrant eyes stared back.

“Then what seems to be the problem here?” He said, ineffectively realizing that the light sleep he could’ve gotten without the interference of an obstinate woman was soon gone and that it was better to listen to her whims.

Clearly, in her rush over to his place, she had thought out a plausible plan for the two to enact. Sakura quickly waved her hands as if the act would pacify the situation. (It didn’t but Kakashi liked to see her try anyway.) “You don’t even have to do anything, Kakashi. It can all just be in name and title. And honestly a month at max. I don’t think Gaara’s going to even stay in the village that long anyway and they’ll be out of our hair soon enough. I just need enough time to thwart his advances.” She took a shaky breath, looking back down at the man who was now partially leaning against the wall and his blanket pooling around his waist. Noticeably, the man still slept with his masked, sleeveless, turtleneck on.

Sakura mumbled something else under her breath. Kakashi stared harder.

“I’m sorry, in my old age, I must’ve misheard that. Did you just say that you told him ‘we’ve been dating for six months?’” He sputtered, a great deal more eloquently than the rapid washed out blush that spread on Sakura’s nose and cheeks.

“I’m sorry, okay? I panicked when he asked me if I’d been seeing anyone – to be honest, I thought it was another way to secure another tie to Suna, you know, like Shikamaru and Temari? And I couldn’t have used Naruto because of Hinata, and they’ve already been together for what? A few years now, eh?” Sakura now looked like she wanted to be far from anyone she knew and Kakashi sat there glowering. “And couldn’t have picked Yamato-taichō because to be frank, he still scares me a little bit. And I know you must be thinking, ‘oh, why not Sai?’ And that’s because surprisingly, he’s gotten together with Ino, which I don’t know if you’ve been paying attention to anything happening in your village.”

“Eh? What about Sasuke? He’s not even in the village, wouldn’t that be easier?” Kakashi questioned thoughtfully, as if this suggestion was by far the best one for her to choose.

She shook her head sullenly, pink hair fluttering around her face. “Even if I did, that would make him expect things… things I’m not ready to give to him until he…” She trailed off, readjusting the hair that fell into her eyes.

The silence between the two grew. Kakashi took this a call to get ready for the morning, so he slid out of bed and went to the bathroom, leaving the pink haired kunoichi to stew in her thoughts for the time being.

He popped out of the bathroom, toothbrush in mouth to glance at her. (If Sakura had been paying any attention, she could’ve gotten a good look at the sixth Hokage’s bare face, but she was just a smidge out of it at the moment.) “Okay, so let’s say that I do follow through on your plan?” He hoped to at least alleviate the awkward air with a proposition that should compel her to respond. “What did you suspect we do to solidify your ‘act’?”

“Um,” she all but hummed. “Truthfully, I only said it in name. Kakashi, you don’t have to do anything. We already talk pretty frequently as it is.”

“Ah, I do suppose that is true,” he murmured as he finally left the bathroom and headed into the outer living area. “Yo, Sakura, tea?”

The pink haired woman grunted a response and followed after the silver haired man. She took a seat at his dilapidated oak table in the center of the kitchen, pulling her knees up to her chest.

A steaming mug of her favorite blend of green tea was gently placed in front of her. She looked up to see the smiling eye creases of Kakashi as he leaned over her to place the mug down. He ruffled her hair before standing fully again and back to fixing his own mug of tea.

“Do I take it that you’ve accepted?” She murmured after taking a sip of the scalding tea.

“Mah, Sakura at least let me think about it for a minute, why don’t you?” He chuckled, sipping his own tea through the mask. (How his didn’t waterboard himself on the daily, was something that Sakura never could comprehend.)

“Hmrph.”

“Okay, okay, fine,” he threw his hands in the air and relented. “You drive a hard bargain. What do I get out of this, anyway? A full week vacation from kage-dom? Or, ooh, free food for a month?”

“Ugh,” she groaned, throwing her head back in exasperation. “Can I figure out something later in the day? I am still tired. I did book it from Sunagakure to here this evening.”

“Wait.”

“What?”

“Did you just say that you ran from Suna to here this evening?”

“Yes? Was that not implied?” She glared at the shocked Hokage seated to her right. “I was on a medical friendship mission there for the past two weeks. You even signed my mission papers.”

“Yeah, but Sakura, that’s a two-day run at barely above normal speed.”

“Okay, and?”

“I wouldn’t be shocked if you passed out within the next moment from over exhaustion.” True to his estimations, she knocked out right there on his kitchen table. And even fell into her mug, splashing hot green tea all over her face and the surface of the table.

concept dumps

things that aren’t worthy to be called wips, cause i literally only had An Idea and deadass only wrote 2 words. like i was scrolling thru my drafts and found one that just had “you woke up”. wtf is up with that. so i’m just gonna lie down the basic thought for each of these, and Hopefully that’ll get it across so you’re just gonna have to imagine the fic yourself i’m sorry :pensive:

if anyone would like to use these ideas, please feel free and you don’t need to ask.

1. taking turns - a reader x sasuke fic

this was based on an idea i put int a post a long while ao, of... if sasuke had to wait four years until mc showed up in the sengoku era, then would the same potentially happen but reversed? cause i liked the idea a lot. reader coming to honno-ji every day despite having to juggle reclaim their past life (cause, come on, absence of three months is gonna do Sumn to your daily life and things surrounding it, like your rent, job, etc.) and i like subtle angs/comfort once sasuke Does come out of the wormhole.

2. a necessity they can’t see. - a male reader x yoshimoto fic. 

this was at the time where i created my genderbent mai drawing? so i very much had the idea that male reader, who pertained the same hobbies like sewing and all, has always been ridiculed in the present for having a “girly” hobby. while i have yet to research about... gender “norms” in the sengoku period, i feel like men at that time at least have the Duty to fight in war or sumn right? some sorts like that. so my idea was that reader started doubting his abilities and his use to the people that protects him.

so while thinking Deeply on his worth and if he can do anything further, he bumps into yoshimoto while he’s browsing some pretty shit idk. yoshimoto sees the way that reader looks at the fabric with obvious expertise, although reader tries to scold himself for thinking about art in such a warring time.

talking talking stuff, which basically leads to yoshimoto saying his stance on art as an existence even in such a time. because to him, and my own personal belief, art is in a way, a necessity. perhaps you wouldn’t die without a lack of art like you would food or water, but in such a trying time, art would be invaluable because it’s an effect on the mental state/spirit than anything, and i’m sure we’ve all felt this especially during quarantine.

then reader basically goes “.............. oh. thanks yoshimoto.” and goes back to azuchi a changed perspective.

3. swap scenario - ikesen x ikevamp x ikerev crossover

honestly not a proper wip, but it just hit me like a freight train that i had this idea in the first place.  gist was, the mc’s for each game got transported to each others’ worlds, with ikevamp mc -> ikerev, ikerev mc -> ikesen, and ikesen -> ikevamp. most of the mc personalities and names are kinda my own hcs.

(also important to note that ikepri wasn’t as big as a thing back then, nor do i even know anything abt ikepri now to brainstorm ideas)

let’s start with the first one, ikevamp mc in the ikerev universe. i think this may be the most, uhh normal maybe? ikevamp mc is shown to travel around and be multilingual, so the fact that it’s set in britain wouldn’t have a language barrier issue. also i think ikevamp mc would be very interested in (i think it was) 19s britain? even if it isn’t exactly britain but, close enough.

ikesen mc in ikevamp. i believe it’s been established before at Some point that they can speak english? or at least passed,, english tests idk. i remember seeing screencaps of nobunaga being like “yo shit u can read english?” and mc is like “yeah, i passed the whatever test back in something something”. and i’m not sure the scope of everyone in the mansion’s languages are, what they can and can’t speak, but at least english is a good starting point yeah?

ikesen mc, i imagined to be wary and maybe rough around the edges at first. i mean, last time they got transported back in time they met with warlords that did,,, unconventional things outside of the laws of her time. so when they’re put into the mansion with seemingly dead historical men, they can’t elp but be a bit cautious due to past experiences. but comte, as he always is,welcomes them as gently as he can, knowing that the whole situation is,,, disorienting, to put it in a word. he invites them to tea, talk over stuff and explain things to them as clear as he can, and slowly, realizing that these people don’t rlly bite (well. metaphorically they don’t. hopefully), mc starts warming up to them. also i like the idea of mc being super interested in the way of fashion and textiles back in 19th century france and just seeing the light in their eyes spark up so wildly now that they can see it up close.

finally, ikerev mc in ikesen. whoo boy. so to start things off, i think the main idea i had would be to try and bridge ikerev mc’s very clear disparity in the language barrier. iiii don’t recall if mc knew any other languages, but i’d assume 16th century japanese isn’t one of them,, or maybe even japanese at all. idk how language education was for 19th~ century britain. but yeah, the first hurdle to overcome is the fact that they don’t rlly speak the same language, especially when the warlords are confused that this person just showed up out of nowhere and might be more. rough around the edges. wary

even so, i think, while i consider ikerev mc to be more gentle and softer than the other two mc’s, they’re still very strong in their own way as well, in that they care a lot for the people around them and are very determined. so even while struggling with learning a language that has a whole new writing system, they would try to be compassionate to everyone around them, especially now with what war and all. kindness may not be able to solve the raging fires of battle, but at least it can soothe the wounded souls that come out of it. also i think it’d be super cute that, even though mc isn’t really articulating their thoughts that well with the language barrier, but still tries to do little things to show they Care like baking sweets in the kitchen and all that. it’d be v pleasant.

Komorebi by aaltedpotato Summary: His responsibilities to the world fulfilled, Naruto Uzumaki takes Sasuke Uchiha and disappears from the public eye, letting the world readjust by itself in the aftermath of the Fourth Shinobi World War.

We all love a good Narusasu traveling fic, and this is the good traveling fic we need. 

syzygy by beastofthesky Summary: In which Sasuke comes home, an errand needs to be run, several people tell him things, and he realizes just what home really is, for him.

DOMESTIC FLUFF

house built on memories by sanguinedawns Summary: Sasuke briefly wishes that Naruto would look back at him too, see him too, perhaps he wants to be seen by him in a different light too. Look at me, Sasuke chances to think.

The kind of story that will have you feeling nostalgic. I highly recommend reading all of their works!

This is actually a very simple fic, but it works so so well!

Smooth by calciseptine Summary: There are things Sasuke lets Naruto do because Naruto needs to—and not because Sasuke needs these things too.

This fic is very tender. Also, blind Sasuke often creates a very interesting dynamic in this ship, which I really love.

40² by Winterdesu Summary: Naruto and Sasuke cohabitate. "What happens now?" Sasuke wondered aloud.Naruto laughed - the sound clear and warm like sun-drenched crystals. He gestured widely at the unfurnished flat with a flourish. “We move in,” and pointed at the pile of furniture and boxes still unmoved from their place at the door. "Let's fill this place up, Sasuke."

So, I’ve recommended this one before and I’ll do it again. Not only is this the best domestic fluff, it also deals with their trauma and insecurities. So important! Read this fic!

Sasuke Uchiha

!!I’ve done some headcanons for Sasuke + a preg s/o over here before, so His will be a bit shorter!!

He’s surprised when the baby bump actually starts showing because he didn’t actually believe he was going to have kid. So it really starts to settle in at that point.

Will make sure to be extra cautious around you to make sure nothing bad will happen to you or the baby. He’s in full force protective mode, of course he’ll play it cool but know that he’s got your back.

He’s used to his own mood swings, but when you start getting them he’s like?? What do I do? He’ll be tolerant asf though like you can call him every name in the book and then hug him five seconds later and he’ll just be there like: it’s apart of the process I guess. He can really keep his cool through a shocking amount of insults.

When he starts seeing you eating the weirdest food combinations he is confused, but he won’t say anything because he’s already experienced your mood swings and is not about to trigger them again by saying anything. If you offer him some he’ll just say no and back out of the kitchen, he doesn’t really need to get a snack.

Oh boy the clinginess. When it starts to happen he’s a bit shocked, but he assumes it’s apart of the process. (He assumes everything’s apart of the pregnancy process tbh.) I know he lowkey likes it, I know deep down he digs that clingy shit. Of course he won’t outwardly admit that, but the fact that he isn’t putting up a fight at you smothering his face is a good enough sign.

He will probably very sneakily get a book from the library about pregnancy instead of asking someone about it. Over his dead body would he ask someone like Hinata or Sakura about this stuff. So he consults a book, it was difficult bc some of the stuff he was shook to read about, but he managed to finish it.

Once the book’s finished he feels like he’s prepared for any pregnancy struggles you may have. Still somehow manages to internally flip his shit when something happens. He’ll try his best to help though.

Hashirama Senju

He’s so excited when he finds out that you’re gonna have a child together. Like a child of your own that you’ll both raise to be an amazing shinobi. Ugh he’ll be daydreaming about his kid until you actually have the child, then he’s in shambles, but that’s another story.

Will flex the fact that he is gonna have a child to anyone and anything in his path, which is kinda not a good idea. He also tightens security for the house just incase. He will be so protective bc he’s the Hokage and that makes you and the baby more vulnerable to possible attacks.

Probably yaps Madara and Tobiramas ear off because of how much he’ll talk about you and the baby. Like every five seconds he’s like “I’m having a kid lol” and tobiramas just like shut the fuck up (he’s happy for him tho.)

When he first sees the little baby bump he’s so fucking hyped. Like he’ll probably come up to you randomly just to place his hands on it. He’s like “that’s my kid in there wow.” Honestly he’s just so excited like that man is a ball of happiness.

He’s gonna be kinda shook about some of the pregnancy struggles. Like when you start getting mood swings he’s like so confused at first. He just figures it’s cause of the baby and so he’ll try and hug it out. You could have just called him a bunch of names and he’s just gonna be like “shut up let’s just hug it out.”

That usually does the trick and when it doesn’t, he’ll sneak out and let you fume for a bit before he comes back and tries again.

Enjoys the clinginess 100%. Like he loves it. Its a nice change from the bad part of the mood swings. While you’re cuddling he’ll play with your hair and have a hand resting on your belly. Then you’ll both talk about what you want to name the baby if it’s a boy or a girl, what you think they’ll be like, if they’ll have his eyes or you hair. (He prays they have his hair bc let’s be real it’s lucious asf.)

Like idk I feel like I need to emphasize the fact that he really does love the soft clingy side you’ll get. If he’s working a lot he will sometimes bring you to work with him, will let you lay on a couch in his office while he does his work.

He will have to refrain so hard from laughing at the weird cravings you’re having. Like if he walks into the kitchen and sees you eating some next level crazy meal he’s gonna need to back out of the kitchen and calm himself down. Then he’ll walk in and be like “hey honey, whatcha doing?”

Just because you knew he was laughing and what you were eating five seconds ago you’ll force him to eat it with you. Then he’ll be all like “I’m the hokage! I can’t get sick! Not like this, anyways.” Then he sees your face and he’s like: shit. So he ends up eating with you. Will pretend it’s good but he’s dying on the inside.

When you’re too tired to get out of bed some days he’ll definitely try his best to make you feel comfortable. Will use an earth style jutsu to put flowers around the room to entertain you while you’re in bed. He will also make your weird pregnancy craving meals for you while you’re in bed. And yes, he will laugh to himself the whole time while he makes it.

The closer to the pregnancy he gets the more he daydreams about your kid. He’ll get so excited and will think about all the things he’s gonna teach them.

Naruto Uzumaki

I feel like him and Hashirama would have similar reactions to a lot of things. Like when he first finds out about your pregnancy he is so hyped and will tell literally anyone. Thinks about his future kid all the time. Will probably suggest to name the kid after some type of ramen.

He’s the most immature about dealing with pregnancy stuff. Like I know I wanna give him the benefit of the doubt but.. let’s be real here he’s freaking out the whole time. That’s not to say he isn’t gonna try and be helpful though, like he will genuinely try his best to help. It just won’t end up the way he wanted it too.

Will ask Sakura about what the heck he’s supposed to do, she’ll probably be super helpful and will try and give you some weird special food pills to help you keep energized. Naruto will burn them when she leaves bc he knows those food pills are so gross, it’s the thought that counts I guess.

He also takes videos and pictures 24/7. He wants to make sure he documents everything. “Look, future baby! Your mom is having another pregnancy mood swing- ach! Did’ya see that? Your mom just tossed a shoe at me!”

When the baby bump starts forming he pokes it. Not harmfully, just like.. he wants to make sure it’s real. Like he’s actually having a kid, Crazy! Anyway, so after he pokes it to make sure it’s not fake, he’ll document the moment. “Hey future baby! Look, this is you. Inside there.” (Cue a vv gentle stomach poke)

The mood swings can entertain him sometimes and other times they can annoy the crap out of him. Like you’re crying one second and the next you’re yelling about the one time he forgot to pick you up for a date like three years ago. He’s really crappy at handling anything that have to do with mood swings. He’ll either be a doof about it or he’ll get offended. Then Sakura has to knock some sense into him.

He means well though, he’s still getting used to everything.

Don’t even get me started on how he reacts to the weird food cravings. Like sometimes he’ll lovingly tease the crap out of you for the weird things you’re eating or he’ll be excited and join in. Like you’re putting a scoop of peanut butter in your ramen? He’s grabbing the chopsticks! Will probably be sick afterwards.

The times when you are clingy are the best, he’ll drop whatever he’s doing so you two can just hang out. If that means you just want to lay in bed and sleep, then he’ll do it! Or if that means you wanna go on a walk, then he’ll do it!

Likes to spend as much time with you as possible. Just wants to make sure you’re okay and if you need him to do anything for you.

Overall 10/10 bc he may be a little bit of a goof, but he always means well <3

The funny thing is, I, as a Karin stan, can be able to say bad shit about my queen.

All of you, anti Karin, always talk about her saying she is obsessed with Sasuke when most of you are Sakura stan, and we all know here that Sakura is the most obsessed one... that is your only argument against Karin. That’s really bad.

I could talk shit about Sakura for hours because in comparaison of all the things she did right, her bad actions are the most impressive and my argument against Sakura is not only about what she did about Sasuke.

I am able to reconsider Karin and most of you are not even able to do the same for Sakura, because for you Sakura, your absolute queen, is the victim and she did nothing wrong.

Karin was Orochimaru’s subordinate. She followed him when she lost everything. It can be totally understandable but saying Karin stayed faithful to Orochimaru because of Sasuke is pure bullshit, when we all know Karin became Orochimaru’s subordinate long time before Sasuke came to find him. She passed the chunnin exam with Oto when Sasuke didn’t even know who was Orochimaru or Oto. It makes no sense. Karin used to kill a lot of people, so let me laugh when you say Sasuke is the real bad guy here, she killed so much more than he never did. She wasn’t innocent.

Yes, Karin started to develop a crush about Sasuke when she met him during the chunin exam but she didn’t fall in love with him at this moment. She was pretty impressed about the fact he saved her life when she meant totally nothing to him, he didn’t even know who she was.

I really think Karin’s crush towards Sasuke increased during their time together with Orochimaru, but really hard to state that she spent a lot of time with him when he was most of his time, training with Orochimaru and she was a lab-rat, helping Kabuto with weird and immoral experimentations.

Like the others girls of this show, Karin’s crush towards Sasuke was based about physical attraction and that’s all. She didn’t even know him, she didn’t even know his name, his life, what he has been through so how could we say she fell in love with him? No she wasn’t. She was just infatuated with him. She found him attractive, because he was, she found him sexy, because he was, but he never showed her any romantic or sexual interest towards her, so it’s really a one sided crush. She was able to read his chakra and she knows that he wasn’t the bad guy he pretended to be. He was a pretty good liar but not enough to get Karin.

They get to know each other better when Sasuke came to find her in her hideout, when he personally came to pick her as one of his favorite, when he was to find her in order to make her one of his teammates in his quest to kill Itachi - the aim of his life atm -...

They spent so much time together, they shared things, they created a bond. It doesn’t matter if you want to deny it. It doesn’t matter if you don’t want to aknowleged team hebi/taka as something important for Sasuke. He didn’t choose Naruto and Sakura as teammates, but he did for Karin, Suigetsu and Juugo. I know it’s hard for you to say that it’s real but it is...

She was there when he fought Itachi to death, she was there when he cried in front of the sea because he just learnt the truth about Itachi by Obito. She was there for one of his most difficult moment of his life: Itachi’s lose. The brother he used to know, to love, to fight and finally to kill..

She knew that Sasuke was strong, determinated, powerful but he was so vulnerable, and she saw it. The fact he cried in front of them, because he couldn’t bear the pain, and his tears anymore, that’s what make Karin’s crush becoming love.

It’s because she knew he wasn’t that bad guy, he didn’t deserved what happened to him, because everybody closed to him were lying, she fell in love with him because she couldn’t stand to see how broken Sasuke was. She just wanted to give him so happiness. That’s why, in filler, we see Karin only wanted to see Sasuke’s smile before dying. That’s why in Gaiden, all we see it’s Karin, accepting that Sasuke will never return her feelings but it doesn’t matter if he is happy now even if it’s not with her... even if he is clearly not but...

Karin never fought ennemies to get Sasuke’s attention or interest. She fought ennemies in order to help him.

Her life doesn’t matter if Sasuke needs her. It doesn’t matter if she dies, helping Sasuke because she would follow him to hell if he wanted to. She fought for the only man that she loved, and still loves.

So no Karin wasn’t obsessed with him. Her physical attraction came to become love when she had the chance to know him better. He just never returned her romantic feelings but she doesn’t matter, because she is an grown woman now. She accepts it.

She never told him what she felt for him.

But let me tell you that Sasuke truly cherished Karin. He used to care about her, more than he used to care about Suigetsu and Juugo. Maybe because he knows she was weaker than them, because it’s true Karin is a good fighter but she was the medical support, not a fight help when Suigetsu and Juugo were.

No he didn’t awakened a new power from his mangekyō sharingan because of team 7. Kishimoto clearly showed that Sasuke called Karin’s name in his head really hard and started to concentrate on her and then he awakened a new power to save her.

Then again during the five kages summit, during his fight against the samurais, he saved her life again from a death fall with his susanoo. We get to know that using susanoo is painful you know... so why he would use it in order to save someone he doesn’t care about? (I know it’s a filler episode but still a pure SasuKarin’s, moment when Karin and Suigetsu just stated that his behaviour has changed and his chakra became colder. For a psychopath, he is pretty caring no?)

Again when he stabbed her, he didn’t want to kill her, that’s obvious. Sasuke knows how to aim vital points. If he wanted her to die, she would be dead.

Karin will never stand up to him. She is clearly weaker.

And his apologies to Karin were sincere. No matter what you think, Karin can read chakra, she knows if you’re lying or not. So if she accepted his apologies, it’s because he was real when he asked her to forgive him. I’m not saying his apologies to Sakura weren’t real tho, I’m only saying that you love to say he was true in front of Sakura but not in front of Karin?

At this moment, what Karin could bring him that he didn’t already had? Nothing much. She was in a position of weakness and yet he was the one who apologized.

Clearly I could say a lot about SasuKarin’s bond as teammates and friendship. SK as romantic ship is only and will stay a headcanon, but a beautiful one.

I’m not jealous about what you got, SasuSaku stans, because I’m truly happy Sasuke and Karin never ended together because that was obvious Sasuke never loved Karin romantically. I didn’t want him to be guilt trapped with fake romance with Karin and still be unhappy like he actually is.

Sakura’s and Sasuke’s romance never existed and since the canonification of this pairing, Kishimoto shitted the fuck out on his characters. You shouldn’t be happy to see Sakura being that obsessed and sad to be finally married with the man she always wanted to marry but she never got happiness. If you say she is, then you’re delulu.

Sasuke was already the bad guy, the one who should ask for forgiveness, but now he is a bad husband, and a bad father? No he is not. He is just unhappy with the life he got. He never wanted to be paired with Sakura.. he never wanted to be married. He is not ashamed to love. He just didn’t get who he truly love since the beginning: Naruto.

So, like Karin, Sasuke is grown man now, he is 33 yo, he accepts the fact that he will never be with him because Kishimoto never gave us what we truly deserved and the end we used to wait for.

To be honest, I’ve grown up too. I used to yell about the end, now I still could not accept it but I only wished Sasuke never ended with anybody if he could not get who he truly loves.

I’m not angry anymore about Sakura and Sasuke being paired together. This is just a total non sense but it’s Kishimoto eh. I’ve got enough, I gave to this masterpiece all the love that I had. It’s time to grow up. Sasuke will eternally be my favorite. He truly deserved better. We, all, deserved better.

Karin will eternally be my queen. Sasuke will eternally be my king. I’m not pairing them anymore. I just love them individually and as friends. I just needed more team taka’s moments because I really miss my criminal buddies 😔.

We All Wear Masks Sometimes

So, I decided to do the opposite. This is set just after the preliminary round during the Chunin Exams. Also, it’s not made explicitly clear that Kakashi and Gai are together, but it is implied that they are. Please enjoy! Prompt: Day 6 - Mask

Gai has a habit of pretending to be okay for everyone else's sake even if he's not. He'll smile and laugh, say something with poetic prose, and then throw out a thumbs-up with a hand on his hip. Sure, on good days he actually is like that, Gai's personality having been molded very carefully and lovingly by his father, but Gai's father could only do so much. Kakashi knows this.

Sometimes Kakashi thinks he's the only one to know this about Gai.

On days that are hard, the really bad days that all shinobi get no matter how cheerful and optimistic one can be, Gai amplifies the theatrics to one hundred. No one really notices, no one besides Kakashi, because Gai never lets anyone get close enough to him to show his real personality. Sure, the man is close to his friends, closer still to his students, but he can't act weak around them. He can't let his friends' teasing bother him and he has to be the perfect role model for his students.

With Kakashi, it's different.

Maybe that is what happens when you grow up fighting a war together and lose everyone you love? You tend to latch onto the one that never left. You hold onto them like they are your lifeline and if that line were to ever get cut then you would drown.

Or maybe Kakashi is just being overly dramatic and it has nothing to do with that. Maybe it's just a testament of how long they have been friends that allows the two to be open with each other and no one else. Kakashi has never been great at interpreting attachments and he's the last person to try to make it into a healthy conclusion in his mind.

He's always been a little bit codependent on the people he's cared about.

Gai especially. 

Maybe that's why, before he goes to fetch Sasuke from the hospital to begin his training, he sets out trying to find Gai. He checks the training grounds first and finds Tenten and Neji there. Tenten is helping Neji train but Gai is nowhere in sight. Not surprising, considering where Lee is currently and in hindsight, Kakashi probably should have checked there first.

Still, just so he doesn't make a wasted trip to the hospital, he steps out of the bushes and makes his presence known to the Genin. "Yo."

They both turn to him. It's the first time Kakashi has actually interacted with Gai's students in the year that he's had them. It's shocking, really, considering how much Gai loves to challenge him. Although, Gai hadn't interacted with Kakashi's students until the beginning of the Chunin Exams either. It almost makes him want to laugh and he's kind of sorry he missed that introduction. He would have loved to have seen the little brats' faces at meeting Maito Gai.

"Kakashi-sensei!" Tenten greets him eagerly, pink coloring her cheeks, while Neji doesn't acknowledge him at all. He's not surprised they know his name. Maybe the Hyūga is mad at him for stopping him from killing that Hinata girl?

"Is Gai at the hospital?" he asks, getting straight to the point. He doesn't have all day. Sasuke is waiting for him.

"Oh, yeah! You just missed him," Tenten tells him, her smile disappearing. "He's visiting Lee but said he'd be back soon if you want to wait."

It's just like Gai to divide up his time between his students despite his overwhelming worry about Lee. Kakashi waves the invitation off. "I'll go see him there. Thanks."

Tenten slumps in disappointment and Neji crosses his arms, turning away. He waves goodbye at them anyway. He doesn't need them complaining to Gai about his behavior and then Gai giving Kakashi a huge speech about treating young Genins with more respect.

He doesn't go into the hospital once he's there. He'll be back to get Sasuke and going into the building one time is one too many in Kakashi's mind. So, he waits outside, flaring his chakra a little to let Gai know he's there. He doesn't expect Gai to come out and greet him right away and about five minutes later, he is exiting the building with a wide smile.

Kakashi can already tell it's fake.

"Kakashi! My dearest Rival, what do I owe this pleasure?" Gai strolls up to him, arms out in a gesture to hug Kakashi. Kakashi lets him, wrapping his own arms around Gai's solid frame. He has a feeling Gai needs this comfort right now.

When they separate, Kakashi gestures with his head. "Take a walk with me."

Gai's smile twitches, threatening to fall but Gai has always been a master at forcing himself to smile through everything. It stays steady on his face. "Very well."

They walk in silence and they eventually make it to outside a hot spring. Kakashi leans down on the railing of a bridge, staring at the water beneath them. It reminds him that Naruto is probably searching for him this very second to train him and a pang of guilt clutches at Kakashi's chest. He does wish he could train both him and Sasuke. They both have very different skill sets, however, and if Sasuke is going to be going up against that sand jutsu, then Kakashi needs to focus on Sasuke at the moment. He'll have to get someone else to train Naruto and, although the thought to ask Gai to do it does cross his mind, Gai has too much on his plate right now. Plus, Naruto is going up against Neji. It might be a bit of a conflict of interest.

So, instead, he settles on someone else. "Is Ebisu available?"

Gai walks up beside him and leans his arms down onto the railing, much like how Kakashi is right now. "I believe so, yes. Why?"

"I was thinking of asking him to train Naruto before the final competitions in the Chunin Exams," he says.

Gai looks out into the water. "I think that would be a great idea. Ebisu is very capable. I can ask him if you want?"

Kakashi shakes his head. "Just have him meet me at the hospital. I have to pick up Sasuke."

Gai perks up at that. "Has Sasuke fully recovered?"

Kakashi picks his words carefully, thinking about Lee. "More or less."

Gai narrows his eyes at him, suspicion playing on his face. "You don't have to be gentle with me."

"And you don't need to pretend with me." Gai stares at him and Kakashi pokes him in the cheek. "Let yourself feel things."

Gai scoffs, goodnaturedly. "Says the man who is the master at suppressed emotions."

"I think we both are pretty good experts at it, wouldn't you say Gai-kun?" Gai scowls at the honorific. It's not very often Kakashi uses it. It's mostly to try and lighten the mood a bit. It doesn't seem to work. "Gai, what I said during the preliminaries about the gates…" He trails off, biting his bottom lip. He sighs and wonders if he sounds a bit hypocritical. He’s never been a fan of the gates for obvious reasons, after all. "I meant what I said afterward. I was out of line."

Gai shakes his head. "No." Kakashi furrows his brows in confusion. "You were right. I should have never taught Lee it. He's too young."

Kakashi frowns and reaches up to place a comforting hand on Gai's back. "You were even younger when your father started teaching you how to open the gates."

Gai huffs and pulls away from Kakashi. "And maybe he was wrong, too."

"Gai…"

"He died because he used the gates and… and I'm not condemning him for it. He used them to protect something precious to him, to protect me, and that is something to be proud of. But maybe… maybe I was too young, too?" Gai bows his head. "Maybe he should have never taught me it… because now Lee has almost died from using the gates."

"Gai," Kakashi pulls him closer so that their sides are pressed together. "That wasn't your doing. It was that kid from the Sand. He is the one who almost killed Lee."

"Lee would have given up sooner if he didn't have the gates."

"No, he wouldn't have." Gai looks up then, surprise written all over his face. "Gai, that child, is exactly like you when you were his age. You wouldn't have given up, would you?" Gai shakes his head. "Exactly. So gates or no gates, there is no doubt in my mind that Lee would have fought with everything he had and would have never given up."

"So, then you're saying it's a character flaw?"

Kakashi chuckles with exasperation, laying his forehead down onto Gai's shoulder. "No, I'm saying it's admirable." He lifts his head to look Gai in the eyes. "Stupid sometimes but admirable."

It gets Gai to laugh, a real laugh, and Kakashi's heart warms at the sound. He pulls him a little closer, carding his fingers into Gai's hair. He ruffles the strands, messing up the bowl cut and Gai tries to pull away in complaint. "Kakashi!"

Kakashi lets him escape and watches as Gai tries to smooth his hair back down with his lips set in a pout the whole time. It's adorable and he's glad he's managed to make Gai feel a little better. He's not very good at it most times but when he succeeds it makes him happy. Especially if it's Gai.

"Gai." Gai stops his ministrations on his hair, looking up at Kakashi. He's much more relaxed now, genuine seeming. "Lee will be okay. He's stubborn like you. Nothing will keep him down."

Gai stares at him for a few seconds, thinking, before a real smile breaks out on his face and he sticks out a thumbs-up in Kakashi's direction. "Most definitely, Rival!"

Kakashi chuckles again and, with an amused shake of his head, he throws an arm around Gai's shoulders, walking back to the hospital with him.

A/N: Don't worry. I didn't forget about the fact that Gai needs to have Ebisu come to the hospital. I just didn't write it in. What I imagine happening is, once back at the hospital, Gai uses a messenger turtle to instruct Ebisu to get to the hospital. It probably scares the shit out of Ebisu at first, thinking something bad might have happened to Gai until he gets there and Kakashi explains everything to him. He is not amused. XD

Masamune

"Close your eye, Masamune" you tweet satisfied, "Why? Have you got some surprise for me, kitten?" he asks and you chuckles.

When he opens them, he's surprised what you have done. "What are these? Glasses? I have already seen them on your nerdy friend, Sasuke"

You nod:"Exactly, these are glasses. Since you can see only from one of your eyes, your sight is really bad: usually, people like you have a lot of difficulties even to pour wine in a glass. I know this isn't much, but I'm sure these will help you".

This boy is surprised: he has never thought you were able to reproduce something from your period in Sengoku Era, but he's really grateful for your efforts to help him.

Mitsuhide

He's not pleased when he notices that you are neglecting him, so he bursts in your room to demand an explanation for your behaviour.

He's quite perplexed when he sees the multitude of tools on the ground. He questions what are you doing and you explain that you are trying to create Bluetooth headphones so that he can communicate much faster with his retainer in case of danger.

"Bluewhat?" He doesn't understand what you mean, but then chuckles at your useless efforts. "Little one, you can't create a blue-that-thing here without the necessary technology"

He kisses you. Of course, he's happy and grateful that you want to help him with his job and he's touched. He's so proud to have someone like you in his life.

"I fear the technology from your time it's too advanced for us. If you really want to help me, why don't you spend the next days and night with me?" he proposes and he doesn't let you the time to answer that his lips are already on yours.

Useless to say, the time spent with him is much more satisfying and arousing that fight with the poor technology of the Sengoku period.

Ieyasu

The way this porcupine discover about your ability is somehow epic. He finds his desk full of letters from women who asks to meet you.

He looks after to you and when he sees you he's really surprised: there is an endless queue of women and you hold in your hand a thing he has never seen in his life.

"What is this?" he wonders and you smile sadistically:"It's a hair straightener and it comes from my hometown. Would you like yo try?".

This boy, don't know what could go wrong, nods and you pass the hair straightener on a thick bang. He understands his mistake only after he sees his messy hair tamed in an unnaturally straight shape.

In a mysterious way, you manage to convince him to stay still as you use it on his fuzzy hair.

When he finds out that his precious hair is ruined in this way, he's too shocked to yell at you. Every time I imagine yasu with straight hair, I laugh for minutes without catching breathe. For the ladies gathered in the garden, the sight of seeing their lord running away with the hands in the hair is too shocking, so they feign that that episode never happened.

That night, when you sleep with him, Ieyasu is pouty and refuses to cuddle with you. He's still upset from the afternoon and it takes a while for you explaining that it's not permanent and in a couple of days they will be as messy as usual.

In the next war council Mitsuhide will tease him about this XD

Mitsunari

He discoveries your abilities when you two are walking together in Azuchi's street.

A boy is crying because his favorite toy is broken. Nobody cares about it and they don't give any attention.

You stop by and you ask if he let you see it and he nods, so you examine the broken object and you wonder to Mitsunari if he can buy you specific tools.

He's confused because he doesn't understand what you want to do, but he listens to your request and after minutes he's back with what you asked for.

He gazes amazed as you, in a couple of minutes, repairing that toy that seemed impossible to fix. "You are incredible, y/n, can you teach me how to do?" he asks.

You are going to say yes, but then you remember about how clumsy he's and you quicky turn him down, legitly fearing for his safety.

Ranmaru

When you find out that Ranmaru loves perfumes, you know what present to give him for his birthday.

Talking with Sasuke, you learn that perfumes in Sengoku are really different from what you mean: they use incenses. But you don't give up and you are sure that the acknowledge of the present, you'll manage to create something similar.

You try and try different combinations of flowers and smelling herbs until you create the perfect misture.

You give your present, explaining how did it and he's really amazed by your abilities: he looks like a puppy wagging the tail.

And of course he will ask you to match your perfume as well.

UESUGI-TAKEDA

Kenshin

When Kenshin finds out you are a capable gunsmith specialized in the production of swords, his reactions are two: 1) It looks like Echigo has a goddess of war, 2) I'm ready to destroy anything that harm you.

At first he's shocked because in his life he had never seen someone like you and his mentality "women must be protected" crumbles. It takes time, but in the end he accepts you and let you continue with your job.

Generally, he's really proud of you and very often he lets you handle his sword.

When he sees you at work for the first time, he casually walks in you and stays with you for a while. His excuse is that he misses you, but in truth he wants to be sure that you don't harm yourself.

If you are good enough, his visits decrease both in time and in frequency. But if you are even a little clumsy and you scratch with a blade, he confiscates your tools and good luck to convince him to let you work again. You may ask Sasuke to help, but don't take for granted that he will do it.

Shingen

Very similar to Mitsunari, he discovers your abilities as you fix something. The carillon he gave you is broken and it doesn't play music anymore.

You decide to repair it by yourself since Shingen is really busy with matters regarding the rebuilt of his domain and he walks in as you are working.

You explain to him that his present is broken and you are fixing it by yourself because you didn't want disturb him

At first, Shingen is lowkey worried that his goddess is going to hurt her beautiful hands, so he asks you to advise him the next time.

But when he notices your skills and your confidence, stop to worry and wonders if you are willing to help him.

Yukimura

Yukimura feels low-key inferior since both you and his best friends are genii, but he supports you.

A day when you are seriously hurt due to a tool you were using, this tactless boar says:"Why you can't behave just like the other women?". He's really worried that you might be injured again and he doesn't mean anything offensive, but you are offended.

Talking with Sasuke he understands his horrible mistake and doesn't stop asking for forgiveness until you forgive him.

From now on he will be more careful with his words and if someone accuses you to be a witch, he's ready to unsheathe his spear and defend you.

Very often you are in the same room: you work on your projects and he's focused on his tasks, but he's happy he can be with you.

Sasuke

You found your match in the past with him. When Sasuke discovers you are skilled as much as him he's really surprised because he thought he was only one able to create stuff from his time.

You tell each other how you made some certain objects and you confront your ideas.

You help in his ninja job adding some extras to his weapons for example a shuriken that has recorded a kiss. Obviously, he will never use it, but he's glad to bring it with him

Very often you challenge the other to discover who is the best between you two and every time nobody can't say whi the winner is.

Together you'll probably create wifi and a way to recharge your phone :p

He's low-key worried that Kenshin may develop an interest in you and may challenge you to fight with him.

Historians will be super confused about why objects that are supposed to belong to the modern time, were used in the Sengoku Period.

Yoshimoto

Yoshimoto is surprised when he sees you carving the wood and he asks what are you doing. "A thumbnail of my country" you answer with a bit of sadness.

You previously told him that if you go back, then you can't return there. He can understand what you feel and he's grateful that you chose to stay with him.

He touches the wood and his fingertips can feel the small windows of the skyscrapers and light poles. "I have never seen this kind of sculpture and the architecture in Japan" he says.

You tense a little and he stops for a while, waiting for your explanation, but when it doesn't come, he continues his speech:"It's the first time for me yet I can see how good you are in this".

He leaves a slight kiss on the temple. "I impatiently wait for its end, so that I can fully admire it". He awaits also that you tell him from where you came from

THE LONE FORCES

Motonari

You are fighting with one of the pirates of the crew. After the last battle, the cannons and part of the deck are damaged and everyone is busy in esteeming the extent.

Having always developt an interest in naval artillery, you analyze them and you discover that the their caliber is completely busted.

You sustain that the speedy and the efficiency of the cannonballs is decreased by a lot, but that man saying you are wrong, even when you show him your calculations.

From a simple fight, the discussion degenerates quickly and you both are ready to throw hands when Motonari intervenes.

He listens to both your reasons and, after thinking, he understands you are right. "baka, don't contradict my girlfriend anymore because she's always right"

He's really surprised by your cleverness and he's very proud of you. Since then, you talk a lot about strategies and weapons.

This can create tension between you two if a day you are going to fight against the Oda forces, since you refuse to help him to destroy your friends.

Kennyo

When it's winter, the animals that live close to Kennyo's hideout, really suffer the cold and a lot of them die. He's really sad, but he can't do anything but chant sutras for their souls.

A day he discovers that someone is building something close to his refuge and he really hope that they aren't neighbors.

A day he sees that that someone is a girl and she's building a shelter for the animals during the winter.

He's really touched by your kind gesture and wants to help you. Every time you meet, after work, he invites you in his home and offers you a cup of tea. Really soon you become friends and Kennyo he's really glad that in the world pure soul like yours still exsist.

Until a day he comes to know you are Nobunaga's Chatelain... he's really heartbroken and his first thought is that you fouled him so that he could lower his guard around you.

So a day you come to work to the shelter, he kidnaps you to use you as a tool for his revenge and interrogates you about why you became close to him.

As I wrote this, another idea came in my mind: he falls in love with you for your pure soul and when he discovers your true identity he kidnaps you so that Nobunaga and the others can't dirty you. Yandere Kennyo.

Chapter 09: Sacrifices

Summary: Being an idol means sacrificing your privacy. As Sasuke and Sakura’s relationship growing stronger, it means more chances of getting caught. Someone has to warn them of the dangers. 

Rating: K.

Shikamaru must admit that his suspicion of the two is growing. He’s not gonna lie when he says he notices how close those two are. The other staff members might not notice it, but being around them for so long, you start to pick up things. The way they look at each other, the way their fingers ever so slightly brush against each other, the way they linger close to each other, the way they always find each other whenever they’re in the same room.

As their manager, it’s his job to manage the group and the members’ well-beings. But it’s also to make sure that nothing goes wrong with the group synergy. He hates being the bad guy, but there are consequences of idols dating. Being under the spotlight almost 24/7 robs them from any privacy they would have had. The people they hangout with, the people they hate, the people they’re dating, will all be made known to the whole world whether they like it or not.

He decides he might have to confront one of them if their relationship progresses into something further. A few weeks ago he decided to keep things lowkey and not bring anything up. But now that he’s noticed how much closer they’ve gotten, he makes up his mind to have a talk with Sasuke.

“Hey everyone.” He enters the dance studio. The members have just finished rehearsal and are collapsed on the floor in exhaustion. They all greeted him half-heartedly. One by one, each member steps outside to head to the showers. Shikamaru places his hand on Sasuke’s shoulder, stopping him in his tracks.

“A word?” Sasuke eyes him before turning his full attention to him. “You know how being an idol is not easy. You practically sacrificed living a normal life and your privacy the moment you choose to take this path. As an idol, every move you make, every choice you make will have consequences.” Sasuke raises an eyebrow. He’s aware of all those things the moment he decides to sign that contract with them. He doesn’t exactly know where this conversation is heading but he listens anyway.

Shikamaru sighs in defeat, almost painfully.

“I know about you and Sakura.” Sasuke’s eyes widen considerably. Of course, Shikamaru, their manager, of all people would have noticed them. He curses under his breath.

“Don’t worry, I haven’t told anyone. But you have to be more careful.” Sasuke looks down, too embarrassed to meet his eyes. “You know what would happen if word goes out you’re dating someone, let alone a staff in our own company.”

Silence.

“Look, I don’t want to tell you not to keep dating her, but think about what this will do for your and Sakura’s career.” Sasuke turns to look at him, not quite sure what he means.

“If people found out you and Sakura are dating, she’ll be fired. People will talk about her and I can imagine they won’t be saying nice things.” He’s right. Sasuke finally comes to a realization. Why hadn't I seen it that way?

Sasuke knows how celebrities get treated when they’re involved in a dating scandal. But if the relationship revolves around a celebrity dating a non-celebrity, he can imagine the responses would be even worse. People would be even more curious, heck some crazies out there might even start stalking them!

Shikamaru sighs and almost feels bad for him.

“Just, maybe try to keep your distance and not alert suspicion.”

Having been told all that, Sasuke’s mind is jumbled up.

What am I gonna do? Should I tell Sakura?

He has to admit, Shikamaru has a point, but it still doesn’t mean he’s going to just avoid Sakura from now on. If anything that would look more suspicious. He decides to be more discreet.

Sasuke didn’t not think things were going to get worse from that point, but it just did. Naruto suddenly bursts out of his bedroom and hollers.

“Sasuke! Yo have you seen this?!” Panic is written all over Naruto’s face, making Sasuke anxious. “There’s a dating scandal about you!”

“What?” Sasuke snatches the phone from his hand and reads the article, word by word.

K-4’s Sasuke with A Secret Girlfriend?

What kind of nonsense is this? Sasuke scrolls down to look at a blurry picture taken at night. He notices the picture was taken recently after they did a music broadcast. They were all heading to their vans, and Sasuke remembers walking together with Sakura to their van. He carefully examines the picture and the woman standing next to him does have similar features to Sakura. He’s almost certain that’s when it was.

Shit.

A ball of worry and anxiety settles in his stomach. This is not looking good at all. Neither for him nor Sakura.

Shikamaru’s right.

He’s going to have to talk to Sakura about this. But what will he say? That they should just keep things professional between them? That he feels nothing for her? That he doesn’t hope to develop a more long-term relationship between them? He’d be lying straight to her face if he said any of that.

He can’t deny his growing feelings for her. Being around her so often has made him accustomed to it. He can’t imagine what it would feel like if he were to completely detach himself of her presence.

But then his selfish side begins to appear. A tiny voice he’s been trying to suppress ever since he had that talk with Shikamaru begins to resurface.

He’s been working so hard, training so hard since he was 17 to be where he’s at right now. Countless hours of rehearsals, lessons, have brought him where he is. If all of that were to be taken away from him, then all of his efforts will turn to nothing. There’s still so many things he wants to do. Not to mention, he doesn't want to ruin Sakura’s career.

Is he really willing to sacrifice his career for this woman? Is Sakura ready to accept the burn that might come once people learn about their relationship? Will he regret it? Is this a logical choice?

If distancing himself from Sakura is the sacrifice he has to make to achieve his (and her) goals, then he’ll have no choice.

Too Close (1/?)

IDK what to rate this for now. I’ve always had this weird idea in my head about what would happen if enemy ninjas knew Sakura was pregnant with the next Uchiha heir. I’ve always pictured it in my head, so I decided to try and put it into words. I hope you guys like it. 

“We don’t have to go,” Sasuke shifted through their closest slowly looking for his old kimono. “ ,Yes we do. We already said we would,” Sakura scoffed as she finished the bow on her yukata. Tonight was the spring festival in Konoha and Sakura was in dire need to get out of their apartment. For the last eight weeks she had been on bedrest awaiting the final stages of her pregnancy and she was three weeks away from the baby’s birth date. 

“ You really think you should be out in this state?” Sakura rolled her eyes at her husband and bumped him lightly out of the way of their closet. Sasuke had been dragging his feet all day about tonight’s festival, of course they could stay in and enjoy the warmth of their home, but Sakura couldn’t take it anymore, she was ready to be out and see her friends, along with giving Sasuke some much needed space from her swollen belly. She thought she would be the helicopter parent, but so far the papa to be would cling to her everywhere she went. 

“ Here, it was right behind your coat.”

 “ Thank you.” Sasuke shifted into putting on the kimono with the help of his wife. “I promise we won’t stay long. Maybe you could hang out with the guys after. You won’t be so free once the baby is born. ”

 “Hn.” 

“I mean it, let’s have some fun tonight. Promise me you’ll try,” Sakura pulled tightly on his knotted strings and looked into Sasuke’s face awaiting his answer. Kissing her gently, Sasuke smirked, “I’ll try.”

Hand in hand, the couple entered the crowded festival and searched for their friends. “ Over there Anata, I see Hinata’s hair,” Sakura pulled on Sasuke’s hand as she hurried into the crowd. Carefully, Sasuke yanked her back, protecting her from the people around them. 

Exasperated, Sakura pulled his hand again, “C’mon.”

 “Sakura- chan, Sasuke, you made it,” Naruto shouted slapping a hand on Sasuke’s shoulder. 

“ I’m glad you guys came,” Hinata smiled as she waved to greet them both. “ Who’s watching Boruto-kun?” Sakura questioned. Out of the rookie nine, Hinata was the first to get pregnant and had already given birth to a son. He was the spitting image of Naruto and Sakura prayed the boy would smart like Hinata.

 “My father wanted to watch him, so we took him there. How are you doing?”

 “ Urgh, I’m ready to burst, this little guy keeps sitting on my bladder and then when he hears his papa, he won’t stop kicking,” Sakura joked as she rubbed her belly and leaned back into Sasuke’s chest. Sakura looked up to see the unamused face of her husband. She grinned in turn.

 “ So its a boy?” Naruto asked.

 “We don’t know, we wanted to wait and see. But I think it’s a boy,” Sakura stated smiling. “ We don’t care either way.” 

“ Hey Sakura! Look who made it outside!” Sakura turned to the shouting in the distance to see Ino and Sai walking toward them, along with Shikamaru and Temari close behind.

 “Hi Ino,” Sakura replied,” No Inojin?” Sakura looked around for Ino’s child. He was the most recent birth and Ino refused to be parted with him for even a second.

 “This one convinced me to leave him with my mother,” Ino poked Sai’s side, who looked down at her and smiled,”I was beginning to wonder if you loved our baby more than me. Surely, you will be fine for one night.” Ino nodded in turn, gripping his hand.

 “ Of course, we just won’t stay here too long.” Sai internally sighed. 

“ Honestly, I don’t see what all the fuss is about, being pregnant isn’t so bad,” Temari commented. She was just entering her third trimester and so far pregnancy hadn’t changed her. 

“ So are we going to walk around this place or not?”

 “So troublesome,” Shikamaru commented as Temari punched his arm, “C’mon, I want some food.” 

With that the gang ventured through the festival playing games and stopping at food booths. Finally, they group gathered in a clearing a little ways from the festival, finding a place to watch the fireworks. Sakura position herself on the bench and looked up to see the stars. As Sasuke began to sat down to join her, she stopped. “Anata, I’m actually kind of hungry.” 

 “Again?” Sakura nodded, “ Can you get me some Takoyaki with ice cream?” Sasuke’s face went green but he nodded. Beside Sakura, Hinata also called to Naruto, “ Do you think you could get me some ice cream too?”

 “ Uh sure, Hinata, of course,” Naruto followed suit of Sasuke. One by one the remaining girls asked their husbands to get them more food, confused Shikamaru and Sai joined Naruto and Sasuke back to the festival. 

“ Honestly, I thought they would never leave,” Sakura sighed as she relaxed further onto the bench. “If I have to hear Sai claim I love the baby more than him, I am going to punch.” 

“Shikamaru keeps complaining everytime I ask him to do one small thing. I’m sorry but who is carrying his child again, me that’s who.” The girls stopped and looked over at Hinata who blushed. Honestly, Naruto had been good to her since the birth of Boruto. He was kind, caring, and came to her whenever she wanted.

 “Well, Naruto still can’t change a diaper correctly,” Hinata tried and even then it sounded fake.

 “Everytime Sasuke speaks or lets go from holding me this baby kicks, urgh, what I wouldn’t give to have my body be at peace.”

 “I’m just glad he let you come outside. He’s been hovering over you all night,” Ino added shaking her head. 

“We need a night off,” Temari sighed. 

“ And the guys need a night out,” Ino replied. 

“Ladies, you know what I’m thinking?” Temari, Hinata, and Ino looked at Sakura curiously as she told them of her plan. 

The men returned right as the fireworks was starting and together the couples enjoyed the festival watch the sky burst into colorful flames. Sakura yawned and leaned closer to Sasuke as they watched the explosives. “ You ready to head home?” He whisper in her ear. “Not quite,” she sighed and held his hand in hers, glancing around in the crowd. Once the fireworks ended and the crowd cheered a boisterous voice broke through the crowd. “ Oi Naruto, Hinata!” in walked Kiba, Shino, and Lee. “ You guys enjoying the festival?” 

“Kiba, where have you been?” 

“Enjoying my own date of the night!” Kiba smirked.

 “With who Shino and Lee? Interesting,” Naruto concluded which earned him a slap across his head. 

“ No, you Oaf, I was with a girl, but she went home already. I ran into these guys and you all when we were trying to leave.”

 “ Oh.” 

“ So you guys going to the after party?” Kiba grinned. “ After party?” Sakura asked. “ Yeah at Ichiraku’s apparently it’s guys night, what do you say?”  The girls grinned at one another and looked towards the men. “Sure,” Temari shrugged. 

“ Who wouldn’t want to be around a bunch of hot guys all night.” 

“ Ino,” Sai gasped. Ino grinned. “ I’m kidding. I think you and the guys should go though.”

 “ Yeah, when was the last time you guys got to hang out all together. And being on a mission together doesn’t count.” Sakura stated as she looked between Naruto and Sasuke.

 “ I thought you were tired,” Sasuke asked. 

“ I am, but you guys need to have fun. Once the baby is born, who knows when you will all get to be together,” at that Sakura yawned and Sasuke wrapped an arm around her waist protectively. 

“ I’m fine, and I think you all should go.” Sakura looked at all the men and smirk, “ Guys night.” Naruto turned to Hinata, “You ok with this?” Hinata nodded, “I’ll stay at my Dad’s tonight, just be safe ok.” Hinata pecked Naruto’s cheek and smiled at him. Flushed he replied, “ Ok.” 

“I’m still walking you home.” Sasuke stated and Sakura didn’t argue.

In the bushes away from the group of couples, two ex-sound ninjas released their hearing jutsus. 

“ Looks like the Uchiha’s wife will be unattended tonight,” one commented. 

“ And perfect timing too, just when the master has finally perfected her jutsu.” In a flash, the ninjas poofed into dust and disappeared into the night. 

“Mmmhm, promise me you’ll have a good time ok,” Sakura shimmied out of her Yukata and pulled on one of Sasuke’s worn shirts from the drawer. 

“Sakura,” Sasuke warned, she was starting to get on his nerves. He didn’t like leaving her alone and the fact the she was practically kicking him out was starting to annoy him. 

“ What I just want you to have fun?” Sakura smiled innocently.

 “ What is this about? Do you really not want me around?” Sasuke muttered. Maybe her pregnancy hormones were finally being passed onto him Sasuke thought, but continued to glare down at his wife, who laid across their bed. 

“ I just-,” Sasuke raised him eyebrow in caution of what she would say next. 

“Ok fine. Everytime you get near me, the baby starts kicking. Its like he wants to be in your belly and not mine. And he won’t stop unless you hold onto me or he doesn’t sense you for a while. That’s why I would just like to go to bed early without a kicking tantrum, ok...Sorry,” Sakura blushed and covered her head with the pillow embarrassed that even before birth, the baby loved Sasuke more than her. 

“ Sakura,” Sasuke called stepping closer to her side of the bed.

 “ Shhhh!,” Sakura put a finger to Sasuke’s lips and peaked from under the pillow, “ the baby will hear you.” Sasuke rolled his eyes and instead firmly moved the pillow away from Sakura’s face.

 “ What are yo-” Sasuke placed his lips over Sakura’s, teasing her into a calming state. Sakura slowly ran her hands through his dark locks, keeping Sasuke in place. Sasuke in turn rain his hand down Sakura’s face down her neck and slowly toward her chest, when stopped and pulled back from her.

 “ Wouldn’t want to rouse the baby?” Sasuke soothed. Sakura smiled tiredly and nodded, “ No, we wouldn’t. He’s still safely asleep.” Sasuke took a step back from her, fighting the urge to rub soothing circles over his wife’s belly. 

“ Be safe ok,” Sakura cooed, her eyelids drooping heavily.

 “ Call me if you need me,” Sasuke replied leaning back in to kiss her gently before heading out to a bar. 

Once Sasuke disappeared into the shadows, the apartment fell silent and the only breath that was heard was the soft sounds of Sakura breathing. Along the outer windows of the apartment the rogue nins cut through the glass and quietly walked into the master bedroom. A light snored was heard from the pregnant pink woman, but she never stirred. One of the rogue nin was a spinly man who quietly made quick and fast hand signs, concentrating his chakra on his upcoming attack. When the last hand sign was made, Sakura opened her eyes sensing the faint chakra presence as more than a mere dream.

Oh yeah, addendum to the other post from earlier because I went to bed after I found it, but yeah. I found the spot where it talks about it finally. But just annoyed because I think it was an issue with like textual clean up or my phone browser at the time screwing with me as I went back and forth to the translation notes that it probably wasn't as clearly input into my memory the first time around. I don't have ad blockers on my phone so when I was originally reading it I was having formatting issues that I think distracted my reading sometimes. I still managed to remember quite a lot of details in general for the plot, I think, but I remember it was frustrating to try to get to the end. Checking now on my desktop and the formatting issues are near nonexistent so it's easier to read and jog my memory that oh yeah I did read this part.

But also still annoyed that it's improperly cited on the wiki cuz ugh, that's not how you write a wiki. Proper chapter citations, yo. It is in 81 not 92. *facepalm* Still kind of wondering where that other part I read when I started this book was mentioned? Still haven't seen that at all.

I think also I remember I was a bit more concerned about the overall meaning of what the ending meant too than what Qinghua was saying. Like the way everything turned out in the book it was really sweet and all and I like Qingqiu and Binghe together, but I was and still am really concerned that they only really work as a couple in this book specifically because of the circumstances of the book. I can understand people IRL are repressed or don't think about their own sexuality and maybe discover it later or under the right circumstances, but at the same time the way things unfolded also gives me some concerns. It's more possible that someone who is straight might only think so because it's just the normal accepted type of relationship we see in our modern society so they don't question or explore it so they don't know, but at the same time, I'm also concerned because your sexuality doesn't just change because of one person either. IRL if someone is not into you, they're not into you. I'm a little worried as well that the relationship between the characters is also a little coercive. Like when we're talking about enthusiastic consent IRL it means for all partners and both people in a relationship should thoughtfully respect the other's boundaries and needs, and unfortunately, Binghe tends to not respect boundaries. It makes for good comedy and cuteness in a fictional work, but a lot of young people also read this book and it worries me a bit what some people might learn about relationships in that regard.

Like this maybe a separate thing, but like thinking about the consent in the relationship in this book reminds me of a Reddit post I saw where this one guy was asking for advice about a situation with his gf where his gf would only sleep with him if he put on Sasuke cosplay and she wore Naruto cosplay and basically they acted out her BL fantasy. And like he was very kind and onboard with her roleplay because he wanted her to be happy, but also like when he asked to maybe not do the cosplay, she would get upset and refuse to be intimate with him in any other way. And like, yeah, the situation is very funny, but because this is a real life couple you can see how when only one person bends to their partner's desires and needs, it can leave the other person feeling unheard and empty. As hilarious as it sounds, a lot of people were very sympathetic for the guy and feeling for him cuz like he was doing everything right and giving it a try for her and then also just approaching her maturely and trying to talk about his own comfort in that regard and she wasn't hearing him. So similar to how I feel bad and afraid for that guy, I actually feel kind of concerned and afraid for SY/Qingqiu a little. Like if both of them were my friend IRL, I would legit be worried that Binghe wasn't always listening to Qingqiu's needs. The relationship needs to be an equal give and take or at least balanced, but one side tends to take more and act more selfishly, and it's like, you only feel worried and want them to talk to each other more and grow because you want them to be able to last together.

Still kind of getting into the other books, but in comparison the other relationships in the other two books seem to be more positive and supportive. Like TGCF seems to be the most healthy and functional as an actual relationship.

Also a bit concerned that Airplane's original outline was a teacher x student relationship. Like we can argue it's okay for SY cuz he's not really Qingqiu, but that relationship being the original outline is also risque and that is NG at worst and a huge risk at best. Like it was viewed bad enough already that Qingqiu was written to eye Ning Yingying, it wouldn't be viewed any better if that part of the original outline was in it too. On the plus side the way SVSSS plays out Binghe is an adult already when the situation happens and it is at a more appropriate time, but the optics are pretty bad just because of like ideas of society that a master is like a parent and a disciple is like a child. It's also related to the titles and such that they call each other like shixiong, shidi, etc. They have family dynamics with each other so it's not great. It's not like there aren't some situations IRL where teacher and student become a couple, but in many circumstances it's highly inappropriate. The underage issue is the normal problem. But if they are grown and it is later when you are no longer their teacher I've seen some couples where it worked out, but it's a situation of consenting adults at least. Still a little concerned about the power imbalance dynamics. In IRL situations that's a big thing too. Other than age, one person being able to affect other parts of your life on a whim is a huge stressor on a relationship you don't need. I can kind of understand how it would have worked out in a positive if like Qingqiu had shown empathy for Binghe when they first met because their lives mirror each other's, but like a lot of the other things Qinghua added into the story like the extent of Qingqiu's traumas being played out as asshole behavior became huge barriers. Like I mentioned, with just his traumas it would be very difficult for him to be able to have even a deep friendship with other men, which is similar to how IRL people in real life don't have a chance to explore themselves because of various issues and stuff in society. But also Binghe being ultimately unhappy by just doing what the world thinks he should do and not what he wants on both an in-world level and a meta level. We don't get a whole lot on Shen Jiu, so I'm really curious how that would have actually worked on his end because he seemed really broken, but it's impossible to parse out what of the original plot we can imagine to remove to understand the original outline and how it would have happened. He was very alone and even though the pipa player called him a friend, it doesn't seem like he was able to have a close enough friend to talk with or confide in at all. But is that isolation part of the original outline or part of the PIDW plot?

Anyway, it's things like that that I think about all the time and that's why I end up going into dives into the wiki cuz I want to like think about something and want to check notes real quick to make sure I'm thinking about it right. But the wiki is unreliable. Like also there was one part where it says that the bad cultivation manual was only something the other disciples did to Binghe, but in SJ's POV chapter he literally says that he gave him the shitty one. The wiki also claimed that him pouring tea was also actually an application of medicine misunderstood, but I haven't found any evidence of that either and it's just stuff like that that send me into a rabbit hole that derail me from my original thoughts I'm trying to work out.
