I decided to make adult designs and "where are they now" stories for all the child tieflings who are confirmed to survive to Act 3.

Unbeknownst to her, Arabella was a latent sorcerer with a natural connection to the Weave. Her powers likely would've manifested at puberty, but touching the idol of Silvanus imbued her with wild druid magic, multiclassing her prematurely. This caused an internal struggle between the two powers, which threatened to rip her and anyone around her apart. Fortunately, with Withers' guidance, she set out to follow the Weave and found balance in her new, strange abilities. For years she traveled Faerûn alone, honing her skills and making peace with her past. Eventually, she became known as the "Wondering Storm", so attuned to nature some would mistake her for Silvanus' Chosen. Those who crossed her, however, would swear she was Jergal's Chosen; able to end a life with a single stare. Though not unkind, Arabella became feared by many for her stoic personality, mysterious presence, and peculiar command of the Weave. It seemed that wherever she was needed, she would inexplicably be.

Though Raphael went silent, Mol continued to enjoy, and perhaps abuse, the gifts from her patron. With the Absolute defeated, she quickly clawed her way up the ranks of the Guild, eventually becoming a pseudo ward to Nine-Fingers Keene. For years she would sharpen her skills, mentored by Keene and her most trusted associates, until she challenged the notorious crime lord to a duel for leadership. Much to her surprise, Keene lost, and was therefore forced to relinquish command to the young tiefling. Seeing the move as a betrayal, however, the Guild's loyalty was split, causing the criminal powerhouse to fracture. This led to a dark time for the Guild, with many in Baldur's Gate referring to it as the "Outlaw Civil War". Much blood was shed during this conflict, but eventually Mol turned the tides in her favour, running Keene and those still loyal to her out of the city. She would go on to rebuild the Guild in her image, successfully and more fearsome than ever; though, when she approached her old colleagues with an invitation to join, they all declined.

Once he managed to enter the city, Mattis tried to find his companions from the Grove, but he ultimately turned his sights to conning rich families with "panaceas from the hells". For a while, he flourished under this racket, until his scheme was exposed by jealous competition. This led to him being violently assaulted by angry customers, nearly ending his life—he only survived by rolling into a rapid canal. After being saved by a kind, impoverished couple who fished him out of the water, he spent nearly three months confined to a bed. His recovery was slow and agonizing, but hardly discouraging. Instead of succumbing to his misery, he took the time to plot his revenge. With the couple's help, he learned the laws of the land and revived his strength. Then, when able, he cut his hair, disguised his face, spied on the man who wronged him, and subsequently tricked him into signing his business over to the couple. Together, they turned the questionable business into something respectable. Mostly. Mattis' silver tongue finally became an asset, rather than a survival tactic, though he was never above a good swindle.

Ide and Umi took up arms during the Absolute's attack on the city, each of them basking in the action. Realising that Umi had developed an insatiable bloodlust, and itching for more battles herself, Ide suggested they enlist into the army. Though technically too young, the new General—appointed by High Duke Ravengard after the fall of the Absolute—accepted them as apprentices until they came of age.

Though their time with the Flaming Fist was imperative to their training and survival, they found the rules and hypocrisy of the troop disheartening, and even more so when the General died. Eventually they deserted, leaving Baldur's Gate entirely and starting a small band of vigilantes. To some, they were a menace. To others, they became heroes of the Sword Coast. No matter the case, Ide and Umi were inseparable, never seen apart.

Inspired by his saviours, Mirkon continued to write stories about his time in the Grove and his rescue from the harpies. He never found his parents, but he refused to live in the slum's orphanage. Life was hard for the young tiefling, often forcing him to grovel for food and coin. On the worst days, he found comfort turning his stories into songs, which he slowly morphed into a semi-profitable street act. This eventually caught the attention of Alfira, who one day happened to be passing by. Recognising his talent, and overjoyed to be reunited, she took him in and taught him how to play the violin. Together, they created a lucrative show that expanded well beyond the Elfsong Tavern, which aided Alfira in opening her dream college. She and Lakrissa would soon adopt Mirkon, and he would later become one of the most beloved and celebrated instructors at the college.

Though working as a hawker for the Baldur's Mouth kept Silfy fed and relatively sheltered, she grew listless. Dealing with rude and racist customers hardened her enough to snap back, resulting in her termination. With nowhere to go, she found herself wandering into Ramazith's Tower, where she implored Rolan for a job. Feeling for her plight, Rolan put her to work stocking shelves and filling orders. It wasn't exciting work, but she was safe and satisfied, until one day a customer's tome exploded, causing a flurry of rainbow flames that whirled into the shape of a unicorn. This event, though frightening, would inspire Silfy to start reading the books in the shop, with the help of Tolna and Rolan. To everyone's surprise, she proved to have an impressive aptitude for magic, and she soon found herself enthralled. Within just a few years, Silfy would be accepted into Blackstaff Academy, where she would excel in her studies and catch the eye of the great Vajra Safahr. She would offer Silfy a position in the school, as well as a mentorship, but Silfy would politely decline, graduate, and return to Bauldr's Gate. Her true home.

I’ll come back for you.

I’ll never leave you here alone.

I promise.

You should have known better than to listen to promises from a person that couldn’t even remember his own name. Any reprieve from this treacherous life was welcomed, though. So you dared to hope. You stupidly dared to dream that there was a life outside of those bleak, dreary walls.

You heard about the Asset’s escape. A new hope lit a flame in your chest. He was going to come back for you. He was going to save you from the treacherous claws of Hydra.

As the months went by, however, your flame began to flicker out. He wasn’t coming. He forgot about you. He didn’t care enough to save you, maybe. Whatever the reason, you were stuck there. No one was coming to save you.

You couldn’t really find it in yourself to blame him. In your mind, you weren’t worth saving. He probably didn’t want to come back anyway. You sure as hell wouldn’t want to come back if you got out. You’d like to at least think that you would have come back for the Asset were you in his place, though.

But this isn’t what would you do. This is what would he do. Because you were still trapped and the Asset was free. In what would he do, saving you wasn’t a part of his plan. Clearly.

Briefly, you wondered if he could remember his name now that he was out of the metaphorical frying pan. You hoped he was. You hoped he was recovering. Because he deserved it.

You were not expecting to be saved. So when a dark skinned man burst into your room and led you to safety, you were overwhelmed. Someone had actually saved you. They risked their life for you.

But it wasn’t who you wanted it to be.

It was stupid. You didn’t have time to be picky. Whoever saved you, saved you and that should be enough. However, you couldn’t help but feel gutted. You thought you gave up on the hope that the Winter Soldier would come back for you a long time ago. The empty feeling inside of you said otherwise.

When they began therapy, you realised how weak you were. You couldn’t eat large portions without expelling it afterwards. You could barely walk without assistance, too busy trembling from malnutrition to be useful. You hated every step of recovery. Maybe you hated it so much because you thought that it would be you and the Soldier going through the aftermath together. In the cells when you daydreamed of a life beyond the walls you were kept in, you had thought he’d be there to support you every step of the way. But you were alone.

Sam wanted to beat Bucky up. It wasn’t an odd feeling, but this urge was stronger than usual. He understood when Bucky told him that he couldn’t go back to the place he was held in captivity. He understood that.

He couldn’t bring himself to understand why the hell he was being so chicken-shit about going and seeing you.

It was clear that he wanted to. Pacing in the hallway outside of your room, standing in the doorway for hours upon end, sitting right outside your door and never leaving. Bucky was just too scared to actually make it past the door to your room. Sam had unsuccessfully tried to “accidentally” push him in the room when he would stand in front of it multiple times.

It was really starting to get on his nerves.

One day, Bucky was napping in one of the uncomfortable waiting room chairs outside your room as he often did. Sam, absolutely fed up with his friend being a love-sick fool, too chicken shit to do anything, decided to push him into the room. It didn’t work.

Needless to say, even with his incredible strength, Sam was no match for a super soldier.

One of the nurses noticed what Sam was trying to do and decided to help. They got him into a wheelchair and wheeled him into the room. Sam dragged the exhausted super soldier out of the wheelchair and into one of the seats near your bed.

Sam thanked the nurse as they wheeled the wheelchair away. The nurse just shrugged, saying that they were tired of it too.

Sam followed the nurse out of the room, leaving the two of you alone.

When you woke up, you weren’t expecting to see anyone in your room. Much less the very man that had broken his promise and left you to pick up the shattered pieces.

You wanted to be happy. You really did. But how could you when he had torn away every last shred of hope you held onto? How could you ever forgive him for lying, for breaking his promises?

He looked good. Healthy even. You were happy for him. You really were. But you couldn’t help that ugly feeling of envy that crawled its way up your throat. It wasn’t fair. Not by a long shot. You knew it, hell he probably knew it too.

You sat in silence for what felt like hours before the man beside you finally came to. He jumped up, on edge because he didn’t recognise his surroundings. His entire body froze, seeing that you were in front of him. You looked at him before looking back out the window.

Bucky mentally cursed. You had seen him. He couldn’t just walk away and pretend it never happened… or could he? No! No, he couldn’t. That wouldn’t be fair to you. “Hey,” he said, scuffing the bottom of his shoe against the pristine tile.

“Uh… I meant to come see you sooner… I really did.”

He wanted to hear your voice again. He missed you so much. All those achingly long nights where his nightmares formed the most horrendous images of you being tortured without him there to protect you. It drove him mad. He tried to find you on his own, but he failed. He had to ask for help and he would do it again in a heartbeat if it meant you were safe; he despised asking for help, but he’d do anything for you.

“I’ve been here since you were admitted… I just… I couldn’t bring myself to… to come in and see you. Someone must’ve… they must’ve gotten me in here somehow…”

He was just saying nonsense at that point. Anything to fill the void. You hadn’t looked back at him. Your head still turned to face the window. He couldn’t blame you. Not really. He would hate him too if he were you. Hell, he does hate himself.

“I know I’m probably the last person you wanna see.” He had tears begging to be released in his eyes. He needed to hear you. He didn’t care if all you did was cuss him out or yell at him. Anything to hear your voice.

“Say something. Please…”

Your heart cracked, hearing his broken voice. Tears had already began to stream down your face. “You promised…”

His heart skipped a beat. He didn’t actually think you would say anything. He was convinced that you’d just give him the silent treatment. That, of course, would have been fine with him. He deserved it after all he had put you through.

“Why didn’t you come back for me?” You had to know. Although you wanted nothing to do with him and simultaneously wanted to wrap him in your arms and never let go, you just had to know one thing. The question you had wondered ever since that flame inside of you was snuffed out.

Bucky winced. In all honesty, he should have known that question was coming. It didn’t make it hurt any less, though. “I… it sounds so stupid, but I tried. I really did, doll. I spent months trying to remember where they kept you, hacking into all kinds of files—so much so that I probably would have been arrested if I didn’t cover my tracks. But I didn’t care because I needed to find you. You’ve gotta understand…”

He took a breath. “As soon as I remembered you, I did everything I could to find you. After years of searching I finally asked for help… that just goes to show how fucking desperate I was, god.” He ran his hands through his hair, starting to pace back and forth.

“I—I couldn’t bring myself to go get you. I had Sam do it with Torres because I was scared. I was a fucking coward! And you deserve so much more. I didn’t… I just didn’t feel worthy enough to save you.”

At this point, you turned to see his tear-streaked face. He continued pacing, not even noticing that you were finally looking at him.

“You had been waiting so long and I.. I failed you. I had taken too long to find you, and I was terrified that you’d hate me as much as I hate myself. But what really terrified me was the thought that you hadn’t made it. That I would get there and you’d be a bloody mess, cold and lifeless on the ground.

“My nightmares for the longest time had been filled with you dying because of me. I couldn’t bear to see it in real life.”

“Winter…” you croaked, heartbroken at his revelation. His head whipped over to your body, lying on the hospital bed and covered with yellowing bruises.

“It’s Bucky,” he sheepishly corrected.

A smile was brought to your face, and Bucky found himself thinking that he’d do anything to see that smile more often. “You remembered?”

He nodded his head, tears still dripping down his cheeks. “I did, I remember a lot now. While it’s not always a good thing, I thank every god above that I remembered you before it was too late.”

You felt heat rising to your face. “You’re still such a simp.”

“Yeah,” he chuckled, “but I’m your simp.”

'Following Donna Noble's lengthy absence from Doctor Who, an interesting exchange in one of the 60th-anniversary specials now leaves the door open for her return to the show at any time. In the final 2023 Doctor Who anniversary episode, "The Giggle," a conversation between Donna (Catherine Tate) and another familiar face resulted in an offer that instilled enthusiasm in the companion of David Tennant's Tenth and Fourteenth Doctors.

Donna was first teased at the end of Doctor Who season 2 and then appeared in her first full episode during the Christmas special of 2006, before being replaced for season 3. She returned as the show's main companion for the entirety of season 4, but her story ended in tragedy when the Tenth Doctor had to wipe her memory to save her life. The fact that she couldn't remember the Doctor or any of their adventures together was the reason behind her absence. Now, the 60th-anniversary specials have restored Donna's memories and made it possible for her to become a regular fixture in Doctor Who season 14 and beyond.

The events of Doctor Who's "The Giggle" thrust Donna Noble well and truly back into action. Donna's revelation regarding the notes of the titular giggle representing notes in an arpeggio gets her noticed by senior figures within the military organization. Notably, Donna is approached during a break in the crisis by Kate Lethbridge-Stewart, who asks Donna to consider joining UNIT once events have reached their conclusion.

In true Donna Noble style, she casually demands double the salary offered to her by Kate, along with a healthy holiday allowance. Without taking the time to even consider the counter-proposal, Kate accepts her terms. Her excitement about the job offer is understandable, given the financial issues of Donna Noble's family that were revealed in "The Star Beast," when her husband tells the newly-regenerated Fourteenth Doctor that she donated their lottery winnings to charity.

Donna Noble Returning Would Be Great For Doctor Who Season 14 And Beyond

She is a popular character.

Donna Noble is a strong personality and a capable leader who has learned a great deal from the Doctor about how to keep a level head in a crisis. Not only will she make a great asset to UNIT, but her reintroduction to Doctor Who will also be of great benefit to the show at large. UNIT's involvement in the past has led to some of the best episodes of Doctor Who, but the presence of Donna in future UNIT stories will only improve them further.

Donna's involvement at such a high level within the world of Doctor Who also means the Fourteenth Doctor can stay involved with the show. Although "The Giggle" ends with David Tennant's character in recovery surrounded by his found family, it's unlikely for a character like his to be able to immediately adapt to a life away from the action. As a result, Doctor Who could yet show more adventures with Donna Noble and the Fourteenth Doctor.'

i have been enabled by my dearly beloved @steelport to write a blorbo post about the latest addition to bones' extended cyberpunk blorboverse so without further ado, Dilf Time >:^)

Ambrose Hawthorne is an important asset at Arasaka Security. As of 2077, he has 22 years of experience under his belt, having worked for the corporation since age 23; though his career path has taken some unexpected turns further down the line.

Ambrose spent ten years working for Internal Affairs. He mostly provided security to existing Arasaka facilities in Night City and occasionally oversaw business affairs on location or did some bodyguard work on the side. After a heroic solo takedown of a group of ex-Arasaka hitmen holding an entire division hostage, he kickstarted his career at Special Ops.

A new division was created within Special Ops, focused entirely on managing and monitoring ex-Arasaka people and rogue employees. They worked together closely with Internal Affairs as well to keep an eye on current employees to step in at the earliest sign of insubordinate behavior (the same kind of methods which, many years later, got Vitali and his boss fired after the latter ordered him to kill Susan Abernathy).

Ambrose himself was sent out into the field to deal with rogue employees and dangerous ex-Arasaka individuals; this caused him to rapidly become known as “the Reaper” on Arasaka grounds and within other Megacorporation circles. Ambrose believed he was contributing to the safety of the public; yet later it turned out he was mostly keeping Arasaka’s business safe and secured, preventing scandals from leaking to the public, and tying up loose ends.

While once dedicated to the cause, Ambrose started losing his spark rather quickly the less “human” people began treating him; he was seen as nothing but a pawn in a large game of chess, tossed around to wherever he was needed to keep Arasaka at the top of the charts; his reputation preceded him and people feared him more than they wanted to get to know him to the point he became a very lonely man over the span of his eight years at Special Ops. On top of that, his body could no longer keep up with his constant injuries and several cybernetic enhancements later he found himself battling early stages of cyberpsychosis.

Ultimately, above described events led to his retirement from Special Ops at the age of 41; following a devastating ex-Arasaka cyberpsycho attack, Ambrose needed to have his spine replaced by cyberware after shielding a young girl from an incoming attack. After his slow recovery, he turned to Mission Oversight and adopted the girl, Rei, as his daughter.

Four years into Mission Oversight, Ambrose knows his time at his simple and boring desk job is running out. Arasaka wants him back in the field, more than anything now that their new program- which he would have been one of the test subjects of, had he not retired from Special Ops- is showing serious cracks with rogue assets running around freely. Ambrose does not want to go back into the field, knowing he’s at risk of falling back into cyberpsychosis; Rei is not independent yet and with nowhere else to go for her he doesn’t want to risk her ending up all alone a second time, and he doesn’t want her to fall into Arasaka’s hands either.

Following the escape of not one but two of Arasaka’s assets, Ambrose is put back at the top of Special Ops and is forced to lead the operation to get the assets back.

Ambrose has a pink cybernetic eye, with a heart shaped pupil! It’s outdated but very reliable Kiroshi tech and he refuses to get it replaced with something more modern, liking the almost retro-y look of the additional outer plating and visible bolts around his eye socket and temple.

That being said, he is a bit of a boomer sometimes when it comes to the latest technology. His own cyberware is all from older generations and despite working for Arasaka, he’s got a very modest little apartment with Rei with the single most ancient electronics you can find in the entire city. His dishwasher is essentially prehistoric.

Another interesting piece of cyberware would be the skeleton-like segments covering the fingers of his right hand, his knuckles and the back of his hand. On top of it just looking neat as fuck, he can punch people harder with it AND it doubles as some sort of stabilizer. His right hand is very unstable as a result of trauma from an incident in his past and the cyberware helps him keep this under control more.

Ambrose has a couple of tattoos: a scythe on his inner left wrist which he later added a bunch of flowers to, Rei’s name on his inner right wrist, a butterfly behind his ear, and an intricate tattoo of all sorts of nature elements covering his left side and his left thigh.

He and Rei live in the south of Santo Domingo, near the dam. Because of corporate drilling and other work done on and around the dam, they have to deal with regular power outages. Their apartment is decorated with a bunch of battery powered lights as a result.

Ambrose has been single for most of his life. He messed around in college a little bit but most of that died down rather quickly when he started working for Arasaka and he’s not really had the time for dating ever since. Adopting Rei was mostly an impulsive decision; but it is simultaneously the best decision he has made in his entire life and he wouldn’t have it any other way.

each recruit brought into every group of future assets were assessed for their aptitudes.  they were closely monitored as they completed their academic education and were prepped for field training.  castillo was selected early on for a supervisory position,  due to her inclination towards the intellectual rather than physical.  subject 004 demonstrated a quiet,  background leadership amongst her peers.  she was often observed tutoring her fellow recruits and nurturing any those around her with a precise knack for anticipating needs.  this intuition unfortunately led her to present with doubts and suspicion towards the program  (  especially as the early combat courses were the one area she found herself at the bottom of class rankings  ).  this led instructor o’conner and 1st division director teo to pull castillo aside before graduation day to explain their plans for her career. 

castillo’s role would be not unlike that which she had already taken up naturally.  she would serve as a bridge between her peer group of assets and those running the tantalus program.  he primary responsibilities would be to analyze,  organize and oversee missions.  she would match agents to the jobs they are best suited for and help them both to prep before as well as process after.  her duties would extend to ensure their quality of life,  working with their handlers to see their every need is met materially,  mentally and emotionally to keep them at their optimum performance level.  after coming to understand teo’s plans for her,  castillo agreed to continue on to the next stages of training.  

VERSE NOTES: 

in her late 20′s,  magnolia suffers a blunt force trauma to the left hemisphere for her brain.  this results in a similar disability as her main verse.  the difference,  however,  is she is given adequate speech therapy and a recovery process.  while she still utilizes and prefers sign languages to communicate after this incident,  her ability to speak verbally is in better condition. 

she took extra time to train with o’conner to better hone her combat skills.  while her strength still rests with long distance weaponry and marksmanship,  her fighting technique is more well rounded.  

her loyalty is to her fellow assets,  not specifically to the program or any higher ups in it.  every decision she makes is for the wellbeing of her peers. 

she has earned the nickname among her class of ‘agent mom.’  often affectionately given,  sometimes with irritation. 

the role she has chosen can sometimes isolate her as she is not quite one of the regular assets but she isn’t really one of the staff of directors.  she’s a middleman and it can be ostracizing. 

she has two pet snakes named mary and dicken.

hello. this is the first of a series of posts exploring patterns of power and control in domestic situations. this is an open discussion, so if you read this post, i want to hear your thoughts. i decided to discuss it at a lower level than in the workplace, or governments etc. because i think it's important to realise that though we can talk about the patriarchy as the big bad thing that's a parasite throughout society, men need to realise how much it affects everyday life, not just my paycheck or sentencing of crimes. prefacing this by saying these are my personal experiences, so may not be generalisable to everyone.

trigger warning, this series of posts will be discussing eating disorders, self-harm, suicidal ideation and SA as well as anecdotes. please be wary about this post and do not read if you are triggered by discussions of this subject. i wish you light and love through your journey of recovery and healing.

i want to start by talking about the control men have in domestic environments and how the effect of it has led to a cascade of events that have altered my life path. man number one, F, my biggest critic. my body was belittled and made fun of, and i would constantly be told to go on a diet. i felt miserable. i was conditioned into thinking my body had to be a certain way for people to respect me as if i it was my only redeemable trait. men perpetuate the notion that a woman's body is her only asset, even if she is family. F manipulated my child-self into believing i was not worthy of being perceived as an equal. 

at such a young age, why did i believe that my body had to look a certain way for people to listen to what i had to say? no praise for my smarts but constantly reminded that my body wasn't good enough had sparked so much internal hatred. i wouldn't eat for days. i spent months of my life delirious and lost. i have a massive gap in my memory, yet when i listen to certain songs i feel as though i can still smell my stomach acid on my index and middle finger. 

knowing i would always be smaller than a man, i realised that i was not in control. i would value the male opinion more than my own. i would search for male validation in all of my actions, believing that if i wasn't seen as desirable, what was the point of living? these negative spirits took over my teenage body. i would put myself in risky positions online, hoping to appeal to men twice my age just because i wanted to impress them. i wanted to know that i was someone's dream. i wanted to be something.

a man had control over the way i saw myself, a man i was never particularly close with, a man that i didn't have any emotional connections to. men dare to spill their opinions without worry of consequences. why did i sit quietly? why is it that after every critique i would go to my room to cry or cut myself or binge and purge but i wouldn't just tell him to fuck off? why was i okay with being quiet? why did i let him walk all over me? 

my life had been altered in such a way that still affects me negatively today. i never opened up about how he had wronged me, i just let it fizzle away over time. patience is a trait interweaved into women's minds. F still bothers me, acting as the head of the house demanding my full attention. i still submit to it. i am still patient with him. an impatient and outburstful man is a powerful one, that is everything that F is. he is larger than life, vital, the light of so many people's lives, yet still, he feels the need to size me down to a spec of dust. i remember in my childhood home, at an age no older than 6, saying aloud "i am the smallest person here, even smaller than a mouse". it is true, i am the youngest out of 3, however, i knew there was something different about me. for some reason, i was lesser than everyone around me. i was unimportant, i am the essence of nothingness. 

the funny thing is, i sit here writing badly about F, as if i have always felt this way. but i haven't. F was my idol, i would try to impress him (up until i really saw everything he is). it's as if i laid on the ground for him to stroll over and i would be excited that he made contact with me. i haven't got a way to solve this issue, though it is as simple as men needing to decrease themselves. no one owes them anything. they are raised entitled, believing the world must serve them and listen to them. i guess this is a way to connect the dots in my life, not necessarily me trying to devise a plan to uproot the patriarchy.
