Spencer lays in bed, his body weighed down with the sudden wave of depression that's hit him. He's been stuck in bed for a few days, not even sleeping, just lying there. He hasn't got up to shower, or to eat, and you can't help but worry. You've tried your hardest to pull him out of this slump, get him out to do things, even just spend an hour or two at the bureau with you while you work.

But, you've come to realize, he just needs somebody to be there for him. Not push him to be productive.

You lie in bed beside Spencer, his head resting on your chest as your fingers card through his slightly greasy hair. His head turns up to look at you, his eyes reflectionless as they gaze up at you. You let out a quiet sigh and kiss his forehead before adjusting yourself to rest yours on his, whispering “You'll be alright, Spencer.”

You can hear him swallow thickly, his lips parting a bit as he lets out a quiet breath before responding “It.. It surely doesn't feel like that.” The corners of your lips fall into a frown, your hand tightening it's grip on his hair as it stops stroking for now. “I'm here for you, you know that, right?..” You start, pausing for a second before deciding to ask, “What's going on in that heavy mind of yours?” In the most gentle, non-judgemental tone you can muster.

Spencer hesitates, his hand moving to rest on your hip as tears well in his eyes, the sight of his deep, doe eyes wettening like that making your heart break. “I don't.. I-I don't feel so.. well.” He tries to explain, sniffling a bit and letting out a shaky breath. Opening up is always so hard for him, especially when it comes to anything emotional. You grow confused for a few seconds before it finally clicks.

“Oh.. Oh, spencer..” You breathe, cupping his jaw to pull his face up to meet yours, your eyes full of worry and his full of tears. “I don't wanna do this anymore.” He sobs, whimpering out a pitiful “I can't take it.”

You pull him close, unable to stop the bit of tears that spring into your own eyes at the realization of just how bad Spencer's been feeling, how he's gotten so low without you realizing it is heartbreaking. You could tell he was feeling down, but you surely couldn't tell he was thinking about killing himself. Spencer cries into your chest, his grip on your hip tightening to a bruising level.

“Shh.. shh, I'm here.. I'm here, baby. I'll make sure you start feeling better soon, I'll be there with you as long as it takes to get better, Spencer.” You promise him, nuzzling your face into the top of his head and holding him even tighter, wanting to show him you're truly there to help and take care of him. His grip on you holds a silent beg, an unspoken plea.

“Please, don't leave me.”

Things I constantly forget about Ventus:

He’s an astronomy nerd. This is not only evident from his excitement over the meteor shower, but also the fact that he has astronomy books in his room and astronomical symbols on his walls. He also has his own telescope!

He also keeps plants—he appears to be a green thumb. He also has an empty birdcage for some reason? It’s very possible that he found it and thought it was cool and just has it for the aesthetic, but it’d be fun to think he had a bird at some point.

At some point he learned to breakdance—but WHERE??? WHEN???? There’s no way in heck it was Eraqus, so it’s possible he learned during his Union Cross days, which means this is more of a muscle-memory skill to him.

He was probably only around eleven or twelve years old when he became a Union Leader and he was possessed by Darkness and killed Strelitzia.

He was sixteen in Birth By Sleep, which made him the oldest KH protagonist up until that point.

The Keyblade he wields in Union Cross is Missing Ache.

Though his heart was asleep housed within Sora’s throughout his childhood up until KH3, it’s implied that he was semi-conscious the whole time, and it’s possible that he remembers Sora’s adventures.

Hello! Some of your latest reblogs reminded me that back when Wish first came out I sent in an ask about the ideas and themes potentially being interesting territory in a new KH game, and idk if it got lost by Tumblr or just unanswered, but I thought I'd submit again just in case. If you've seen the movie or read a synopsis I feel like it would be a perfect world for part of Riku's wish/dream story! The people in Rosas have to give away their dreams and forget it in hope of it being granted, but at least one person is negatively affected by this and not the same as he was, and then later the villain actually uses his dream to manipulate him into turning against his friends. Wish naturally has a nod to the Fairy God Mother who of course has spoken recently to Riku, and I was thinking the forgetting and the wishing/shooting star could tie into the meteor shower memory...I know Wish wasn't the huge hit Disney prolly wanted, but I think Nomura and Co could potentially come up with a way to tie it into KH that would make our part of the fandom super excited!

Oh absolutely, the themes would be perfect for kh. I haven't watched it yet myself and though I can't say I'm that interested in the movie itself, even if it's not that great as a movie it doesn't mean it can't work really well as a world as long as they really lean into those themes and tying them into the story. Unfortunately the poor reception to the movie might make them decide against including it (I also don't know how early they need to have their world selection locked in so it might be too late for kh4 regardless) In any case I would absolutely lose it if they showed Riku going to that world.

k so before i hop in the shower. with the new princesses of heart in kh, we have four confirmed:

kairi again

rapunzel

elsa

anna

now we can just like. ASSUME that they’ll add moana and make her a princess of heart. that’s like a 99.999999% chance. also she already had a medal and costume in ux so yeah that’s happening. that’s 5!

we can also assume they’re gonna add tiana. cause why the fuck would they not??? that’s 6

we still got mèrida as an official DP but i like. don’t think she fits the vibe?? i feel like she’d be more like ariel, in the lineup but not a princess of heart or w/e

so we’re still missing one. here’s my thoughts on who could be princess of heart #7 in order of how fucking hilarious it would be

Sally (Nightmare Before Christmas) – we’ve already seen her several times but now she has a promotion

Esmeralda (Hunchback of Notre Dame) – same reasoning as Sally

Mirabel Madrigal (Encanto) – she’s like “okay so like. i’m a special princess??” “yeah, i know it’s a lot to take in–” “and it’s NOT isabela?????” “...no?” “oh i am gonna rub this in her face forEVER”

Elena of Avalor – imagine them making a disney junior show canon

Raya (Raya and the Last Dragon) – she is literally the princess of a kingdom called Heart like come on

Sisu (Raya and the Last Dragon) – would track with the “pure of heart” thing ig. also imagine them just saying the comic relief is now the princess of heart

Namaari (Raya and the Last Dragon) – the princess of a kingdom that is NOT heart but also she has a big gay crush on the heart princess this would give her so many crises

Roxanne – furry world AND we have to do an entire goofy movie plot

Naminé or Xion – would make me cry

Wendy (Peter Pan) – she’s finally one of the chosen ones

Penny (The Rescuers) – just this random baby from an obscure disney movie. jenny from oliver and company is also acceptable

Mei Lee (Turning Red) – the princesses of heart are all actual royalty except for this 13yo canadian girl from 2002 who can turn into a panda when she’s mad

Eilonwy (The Black Cauldron) – disney refuses to acknowledge this movie’s existence but then they put it in kingdom hearts and make it relevant to the story

Ortensia – imagine they finally get oswald into the main story and it’s bc his wife has magic heart powers and heartless wont leave them alone

Anastasia – disney finally delivers the killing blow on the “anastasia is not disney” crowd. sorry guys we bought 20th century fox she’s ours now lol

Sofia the First – come on. tell me it wouldnt be funny. come on

Endless possibilities for Kairi

Nomura once said the keyblade Riku gives to Kairi and where he gets it will be answered in a future installment.

As he does when he doesn't want to answer something because it will be no point in ever showing it if he just tells people.

He did it when people asked about Demyx's backstory and where he came from. He didn't say anything and he most likely will be in Missing Link and probably 4?

But so much about Kairi is a mystery and at first I thought oh they're not going to do much with her, I don't think in KH4 we'll see much but then I was looking at MOM scenes and KH2 the games where people genuinely think she shines the most.

(personally her in mom doesn't do it for me because she ends up using Sora's form)

Mom is just giving people bread crumbs and it's kinda overpraised. Like you control her for a bit until Sora takes over and then you eventually control Riku. I'll admit the backstory parts were nice. It helped confirm more about the Ansem reports. But it's not really much.

Her entire backstory is so mysterious.

She— a child of Radiant Garden who happens to be one of the princesses with a pure heart was seen by Xehanort and studied on through experiments until she was sent to Destiny Islands through one of the time capsules used in Union x.

Because of Xehanort and the others apprentices were doing unsupervised experiments (not sure if this was before or after they became nobodies), sending her there caused the meteor shower— the same one that happens on destiny islands where Riku makes a promise to Sora to protect him and probably have his signature necklace to him. (Though this is necklace theory it is implied this happens through various scenes in KH and the novels, and manga)

Through this revelation, they can discover and discuss where she came from and how she got to Destiny Islands, by discovering the time capsules they can figure out Union X events. The Wayfinder Trio + Kairi can figure out this information together.

Why the Wayfinders? Because Ven was from the era and it could help get his memories back. Kairi is also going to be training with Aqua after MOM.

But by looking into that stuff they can find out more about her and then come across what happened to experiment X and if she really is Skuld or not (a lot of people think she is Skuld).

And Lea/Axel and Isa/Saïx come in for that part.

But she has so much potential. Like KH is obviously about Sora and Riku's friendship and I think the reason why we seen so little of her is probably because Nomura might just be waiting for a good moment or game to put some backstory for Kairi.

We only got crumbs through the reports, a dialogue here and there, and then the scene in mom. And maybe just maybe we'll get an installment that tells us something extraordinary as KH does.

This is like the fourth analysis post I've done about her. She can be so interesting and so much potential and I'm thinking about another one relating to her. It's involving how the English version of KH makes her worse of a character... You'll see why soon

Post note: before anyone mentions kh3 I discussed in previous posts I didn't like her in that one because she was just training a lot and not really doing much. Then during the battle she eventually dies, well that's the shortened version

Khonshu x Gender Neutral Reader🌙

Yay it's done! Tried something new with this one. This somehow turned into 27 pages long headcanons

Also quick warning, I included some gods that weren't in the show, like Anubis, Ra and Set but they don't have big roles in this.

And for those who don't know, Witch is a Gender Neutral word

🌘You probably met Steven first, before he was pulled in all that moon knight Business. However, while you could not see Khonshu yet, he could see you very clearly. At first he didn't think much of you but the more he watched you the more he grew interested in you.

🌘So one night out of the blue, he appeared in front of you. He was expecting screaming but no-

🌘You were calm, even fascinated by the moon god in front of you. Of course that only stroked his ego and he took an immediate liking to you

🌘Steven didn't know you have met Khonshu until you two were hanging out, with Khonshu present and you said hi to him.

🌘Poor man was freaking out because he thought Khonshu would hurt you

🌘He wouldn't

🌘It would take a while but you two grew closer, night by night. With that the elder god was beginning to be confused. He never felt this way for a mere mortal and honestly, it scared him a little

🌘But now to the romance~

🌘Khonshu would be the first to confess, in his own silly way

🌘He first would come to you one night, on a full moon, and say how truly lucky you are to have gained the affection of an elder god. Going on a monologue as to how blessed you were, which was quickly cut short when you said that you also like him

🌘Birb man was so happy

🌘At the begining in the relationship Khonshu would have trouble seeing you as his equal but after a while he would (with great difficulty) swallow his pride and see you as his other, equal half

🌘He is still very new to this so please be patient and if you are you'll get a doting moon god!

🌘Murder bird is so down bad for you.

🌘Khonshu showers you in his love, whenever the moon shines, you feel his loving embrace

🌘Every moring you wake up, he makes you Breakfast

🌘While you can't directly touch him, you can feel a little of his presence. Him holding you close, beak softly nudging your neck.

🌘Khonshu is also extremely protective, the god is aware how fragile humans are, so he would not have you in any moon knight matters

🌘He loves you dearly and could not bare to see you hurt

🌘Khonshu hates it when others flirt with you, he'll throw one of his trantums, effectively scaring them away.

🌘After that he will be a little grumpy, give him a few kisses and long hugs, that will lighten his mood

🌘you are not the only one being doted on tho. Give him kisses, hugs and loving words

🌘He will coo when you tell him how much you love him or give his beak little kisses, like-

🌘"Yes little human, I am great aren't I?"

🌘When he was imprisoned in stone by Ennead, he longed to return to you. Being away from his beloved human pained him greatly. He despratly earned for your loving embrace.

🌘When he and Ammit where freed, he fought his hardest, so that Ammit and Harrow could never harm you.

🌘Once he returned, he immediately took you in his arms.

🌘Khonshu refused to leave you alone for weeks, the time he was away should have been nothing to him but being separated from you was to much for him.

🌘However you two are together once again and he will never leave you again

Witch!Reader

🌗Working with deities is not uncommon for witches and you thought you'd give it shot as it might help you a lot with your practice.

🌗Khonshu was one deity you were planning on working with

🌗The night you started the Ritual was on a full moon, hoping that would help Khonshu hear you and he did. At first Khonshu was confused, he had not someone reach out to him in a long time and specially not in such a way either

🌗After the Ritual was done, Khonshu decided to answer this little human's prayer, you however did not exspect him to appear directly in front you-

🌗But then again you shouldn't be suprised, in a world with a himbo that carries a thunder hammer, a big green dude and a man that has been in ice for 80 years this is probably the most normal thing that happened in a while

🌗Khonshu would tell you how much of a wise decision you made by chosing him over other moon deities

🌗He would help you with your witchcraft and give you protection under the moons silver glow but in exchange he wants something in return.

🌗Humans have started worshiping the old gods again and he wants a devoted little follower, a priest! Give him praise and offerings-

🌗You just throw bird seeds at his face:/

🌗At least that got him to shut up

🌗He does bonk you with his Staff in return tho

🌗But that bonk shocks him, he can actually touch you! What a interesting little light you are

🌗That's what he calls you, little light

🌗With Khonshu being your patron, you are granted a lot of new powers! Lunar Magic obviously is among them

🌗Khonshu helps you learn control your new powers, he is with you through every step

🌗Your routine is making a little offering to Khonshu and giving him a prayer during the night

🌗He always listens

🌗Romance doesn't spark between you two immediately, at first he only sees you as his priest.

🌗Yet after a while he can't deny that he has gotten rather attached to you

🌗You touch him in a way that he never knew was possible, much lese how addicted he is to it

🌗He is so touch starved :(

🌗The first time you hugged him, he stood five minutes in the same spot, wondering what just happened and why he want's you to do it again so desperately

🌗Whenever you do a ritual and he is present, Khonshu watches you with awe, you truly are something magical

🌗It is on a full moon,where you go about your usual prayer, when you say it with so much love and devotion, does he notice that you are more to him than just a priest

🌗He craves your touch, your attention

🌗Your love

🌗It is when you finish the prayer, he comes to you

🌗At first he doesn't say anything, he just stares at you. Even without any eyes you can figure out how he looks at you with such adoration.

🌗When Khonshu still doesn't move, you step forward and gently take his face in your hands, as he takes yours in his

🌗With the utmost sincerity you give him a heart warming "I love you" and kiss his beak

🌗You two stayed in each other's embrace that night

🌗He makes a constelation after you, once you two are done

🌗Khonshu would sometimes hug you from behind and coo at you

🌗He would be so jealous if you also worked with other deities

🌗"You have me already! You don't need any lesser god."

🌗Would 100% sabotage their alters

🌗You take him to the side and tell him that, while yes you work with other gods, he is your love. The other gods could not even dream to compare

🌗Khonshu would let you work with other gods then in peace after that

🌗Not without bragging as to how you are his lover to the other gods, whenever you communicate with them

🌗It is only natural that you would meet his Moon Knight

🌗They were shocked when they found out Khonshu had a partner.

🌗Marc "Blink twice if you are being held hostage"

🌗However, Khonshu did not want you involved in any of his "Justice". Fearing you'd get hurt

🌗But that wish quickly died when a sun Cult has targeted you :/

🌗When they took you in the middle of the night, Khonshu screeched for Marc and Steven to save you. Only to find you, having already beaten the cult.

🌗Khonshu has blessed you with powerful lunar magic and you used that to your advantge.

🌗Khonshu came rushing to you and Held you. Screeching in terror if you got hurt. Carrying you back home, refusing to let you down.

🌗He doesn't leave your side for month

🌗Because of the whole thing you kind of, accidentally, became a part of the Moon Khight thing

🌗He blames Steven

🌗One day, you met a strange blond man with a cane. For some reason he felt... off. Before he could do anything you quickly made an excuse so you could leave. As you started to walk away, the man said how eager he and Ammit were to properly meet you one day

🌗Leaving you confused because you never even met the man?????

🌗You told Khonshu about it he stood still for two minutes and then suddenly screeched bloody murder.

🌗When he and Marc go to Egypt, you begged him to take you with him

🌗Birb Man quickly shut you down.

🌗You went anyway without them knowing and when he found out, his soul left his body

🌗There is no turning back now, but no fighting for you!

🌗That's final.

🌗...

🌗You stabbed a man in a fight you suddenly appeard in

🌗Khonshu screeched in horror

🌗You also got to meet Layla :D

🌗When Khonshu was held on trial by other gods because he manipulated the sky, you were seething with rage

🌗You bit Osiris

🌗When Khonshu got imprisioned, your powers were greatly weakend, to the point where they were non existent.

🌗You, Marc, Steven and Layla then go on a little adventure

🌗Marc and Steven get shot

🌗You and Layla were hunting Harrow until a magical Hippo spoke out of a dead guy??

🌗She told you that Harrow was to powerful and that you needed to free Khonshu.

🌗You booked it to your birb boyfriend

🌗When Harrow came and killed the other avartars, you didn't feel all that bad-

🌗But the moment you freed Khonshu he immediatly embraced you, so hard.

🌗Being kept apart from you was the most painful thing for him, even if it wasn't all that long. Yet a single day without you, was an eternity for him

🌗In short he's clingly

🌗When Mommy Ammit is freed, you want to help fight her and Harrow.

🌗Khonshu denies you of this tho, he just got you back, he won't risk losing you

🌗Seeing Khonshu get beaten up by Ammit breaks your heart

🌗You blast magic in her eye, giving Khonshu a little advantge

🌗When the fight with Harrow comes, you blast his face with lunar magic

🌗Hard

🌗Probably broke his nose

🌗You help Marc and Layla with sealing Ammit in Harrow

🌗When all is done you are tempted to kill Harrow yourself

🌗Once you go home, you force Khonshu to stay in bed with you, cuddling the entire day and night.

Ennead!Reader

🌕Revered by many mortals and even gods, you were truly divine being but none held you in higher regard than Khonshu

🌕To him, you were the stars to his night sky. The glimmering water under his pale light

🌕He was a simp in short

🌕You two were often worshiped together, mostly because the two of you were close with one another

🌕You and Khonshu haven't been together until after Osiris' death and Set's defeat

🌕He realized how he could not bear the thought you suffering the same fate as Osiris

🌕How you being gone was too painful

🌕Khonshu would rather tear down the night sky than to let you be taken away

🌕Under the brilliant stars and shining moon, he asked for your love.

🌕That fateful night, a new union between two gods was made

🌕Khonshu made many constelations after you, like paintings to immortalize you divinity in the skies but he said that no matter how bright the constelation, it would never compare to your true beauty

🌕The Birb, however would get jealous sometimes of other gods having your attention

🌕He talked smack about Anubis after you two were busy with the afterlife

🌕Anubis bonked him

🌕That humbled him real quickly

🌕He keeps you away from Set and when he comes to close, Khonshu screeches at him

🌕Some nights you would lay together, tracing your his body with your fingers while he held you close

🌕The moon's light was always brightest when you were with him

🌕The Relationship between Khonshu and his father Ammon Ra was complicated. Ra didn't have anything against you, he is rather fond of you. But any attemps of mending their relationship has failed

🌕So you tried to keep those two away from each other in general, even chosing avatars that would stop the fighting between their vessels.

🌕It didn't always work but you saved a lot of lives like that (o_o)b

🌕You cared deeply about the mortals, which only made it hurt more when they abandonded you

🌕With the other Ennead going back the Celestial Heliopolis, ready to leave humanity, you were tempted you leave yourself

🌕Khonshu however chose not to

🌕He kept in interfering with the mortal plane, something that displeased the council

🌕So they banisched him

🌕When Khonshu was exiled he was shatterd, being seperated from you pained him beyond meassure

🌕Before he could do anything irrational to get back to you

��He felt your arms around him

🌕You were on earth, with him

🌕Khonshu had so many question but decided to stay in your embrace instead. The fear of having lost you really broke him for a moment

🌕He asked if you also got banisched

🌕You didn't, but you could not just stand there and let your love be send away.

🌕So you chose to leave the Ennead, they didn't understand your decision but respected it

🌕Unlike Khonshu, you were still welcomed back, so long you don't break the rules

🌕But none of that matterd, what is most important is that you two are together.

🌕Because of his banishment, Khonshu resents the other gods yet is grateful that you chose to stay with him

🌕Sometimes however, he can't help but feel guilty for being the reason you left your home

🌕You quickly shut those thought down. As much as he can't bear to be without you, you also could not imagine a life separated with Khonshu

🌕You kiss his entire face, declaring your love for him over and over again

🌕You smotherd him with so much love he became flusterd, causing a Blood Moon to happen

🌕While on earth you watched Khonshu take many new Avatars, but one stood out to you

🌕A mortal named Arthur Harrow

🌕You made your distaste for the human very clear and it turned you had every reason not to like him

🌕Khonshu's next Avatar however, Marc Spector, you didn't dislike

🌕You saw a broken, scared boy. While he was close on deaths door, you appeard before him. Giving him comfort and love

🌕Khonshu himself came too, offering Marc a deal, to become his avatar. You didn't like how it sounded but chose to trust your beloved.

🌕You didn't see much of Marc after that, beliving Khonshu to take good care of him

🌕It wasn't until much later that you decided to see Marc again.

🌕Khonshu seemed irritated, so you thought you might check up on the little human

🌕You were more than suprised that he forgot about you

🌕And suddenly got an british accent

🌕He seemed rather frightened.

🌕Which confused you even more, why would he be scared of you when he has regular contact with Khonshu

🌕And speaking of him, you saw your husband scaring the poor boy not long after

🌕Chasing him through a corridor

🌕It wasn't until you appeard, that you chastised Khonshu for terrifying Marc.

🌕When you send Khonshu away, you tried to calm Marc down, to which he told you his name was Steven Grant.

🌕How odd

🌕You decided that the man has seen enough gods for now and left him alone

🌕Asking Khonshu why Marc now goes by Steven Grant and acts completely diffrent, he tells you not to worry about the worm

🌕Which left you even more confused???

🌕You later on found out on yourself, that Steven was diffrent person entirely.

🌕Before you could find out more, Steven met Harrow.

ok immediate first thoughts

very curious how there's mention of a calamitous star. from a meteor shower. and of course this is in relation to player2 but i cant help thinking of kairi too (and ven) - their arrival on DI literal lead to all the bad shit happening. its not their fault but. curious

to add to that, player2 is referred to as a drifter, A drifter, meaning this is not a singular occurrence. hell maybe theres new people just falling out of the sky every other monday

actually they seem to be looking for THE calamitous star, so this is just 'whos the traitor 2.0'

the societies/founders seem to have control over things, pleaseeeeee let this lead into more 'light side can be bad' exploration. leading things with an iron fist and terrible bureaucracy in the name of light

fragments of memories (i assume they mean the new medal figures) are the new lux to fight over

why the hell does the new completely red character have blue hair it clashes so bad with his design...

the second 'astral (plane)' was said i got horrible flashbacks to ffxv. but it does make sense (as much as anything in kh does). since this is a world plunged into darkness and scala is the only habitable place, i assume anyway, it makes sense theyd have to delve into another realm of some kind to visit other places. and we did data and dreams already and our next thing is unreality or 4th wall breaking so

that ephemer skuld chirithy heart station 🥺🥺🥺 but this is honestly wild, this is the first time we see a station with several focal characters on it. are their hearts melded? or is it just some sort of representation? of scalas heart?

we got another new silver haired character to add to the roster! with blue eyes booooo. but im really curious about her. seems to me we are supposed to draw a connection to ephemer here

Any thoughts on when we gonna see the meteor shower promise, considering nomura already hinted that Riku gave Sora the necklace? At least it was in the drafts to have Riku giving us a crown keychain we see on Oblivion just in a different color.

ough, this is a tough one... tbh I don't theorize much about kh, I'm just here for the ride! my hope (best case scenario) is that the meteor shower promise gets acknowledged (one way or another, I'm hoping it'll be something like the Chirithy Dream Eater sigil reveal!) in Missing Link and possibly revealed in KH4? again, that's like... best case scenario. I think it would tie in really well with the whole "thank Namine" plotline, and maybe thanking Namine would somehow give Sora back his memories? possibly?

tldr: I really don't know, but I hope it gets revealed in KH4 or alongside the resolution of the "thank Namine" plotline.

Ok ok just a small rant

XEHAQUS???? I just... GAH I love them so so much.

When I first got into kh I wrote a 183 page Xehaqus fic that I never finished but they were my life for so long. And this was before Dark Road finished! I love them even more after dark road because oh my gosh they're so cute in that game. The graveyard scene???? It's a crime they didn't kiss. I wish they had better communication skills after what happens in dark road because it's a shame they became so distant. Like they went through so much together and the fact they didn't work through it together and instead went wildly different directions that lead them to hating each other hurts my soul.

I don't think Eraqus ever got over him though, and as much as Xehanort probably wanted to he probably never could.

Have any of you heard butterflies by leo? You should listen to it, I'll die on the hill that that is a Xehaqus song. Other than the first verse which doesn't fit with them too much I think it really is just so perfect for them.

Ok ok sorry but now this post is just me ranting about this song and these lyrics bcs I've thought about this for months. "The sky sure looks pretty, but you're my favorite view" I'd like to think that this would be Xehanort saying this, he does become obsesed with Kingdom Hearts after all, which is a moon in the sky. Although I do interpret most of the lyrics from Eraqus's POV, there are many I see from both or Xehanort's as well. "I’ll welcome the storm soon, but just for tonight I’ll pretend that it’s still our room , I’ll pretend that you’re still mine" a very Eraqus line personally. The storm could represent the events after dark road, and how Eraqus just wants to go back to the way things were before it all. "When will it feel okay to know that you wouldn’t have stayed before mine flew away" to me sounds like either of them could say it. After Dark Road they went on very very different paths, Eraqus going on the path to stay loyal to light while Xehanort walked a dark road (wow I'm funny) and became the person he ended up becoming. "I feel them, please kill them. I’ll heal someday" lets face it, they both still had feelings and died with said feelings. They never got over each other I'll die on this hill. They will never heal. "I cried in the shower ‘cause you’re not around. Quite funny how I’m still the hot mess that you found. I know that they’re gone, dear, but picture my eyes and tell me what happened to your butterflies." This is an Eraqus line to me, I've always pictured their fight in dark road as the final lyric. Just Eraqus wondering how Xehanort changed and how he wonders what happened to his feelings, his butterflies. The first part of it definitely could have been how Eraqus felt in the days following it.

WOW ok rant over, that was in fact not a "small rant". I love Xehaqus, they're my kh OTP (although I do love Akusai and Soriku, these 2 will be on top forever). I made a playlist for them and have written a decent amount for them, they just make me happy. I'm sorry to the people who went into this thinking it wouldn't be me ranting about a silly song I like and also one of my favorite ships.

Bakugou Katsuki kicks the seventh rock that’s encountered his path in this hell of a street. He’s never been to this part of town, his cell service has never been so shit, and he’s convinced the last three people who’ve bumped into him haven’t showered in weeks.

He’s about to give up until he spots a vaguely familiar pair of blue sneakers. They’re torn, dirtied down into a shade of dull navy, but the four written initials still stretch across the midsole.

KH. NT. AT.

The shoes are right, but the skin-wrapped skeleton of the body who wears them is someone Katsuki does not recognize.

Dabi’s horrible rasp rings loud in Katsuki’s ears — ‘I’ve heard about you, it’s pretty easy to get info from hungry delinquents.’

Kemuri Hashiga and Nagai Tesaki, once bright and plump juniors, sit outside the worst halfway house Katsuki has ever fucking seen, passing around either a cigarette or a joint.

The same boys who used to complain of their fathers’ smoking habits.

‘Really? You don’t even keep up with the very kids that followed you around everywhere? Your ‘extras’? Man, maybe you are the perfect pick, huh. A little bully to quirk-less kids, you’ll fit in here just fine.’

Katsuki takes a deep breath, adjusts the hold of his wrapped bento, and stomps forward for answers.

Kemuri’s black hair is wild as ever, but it’s the resigned look in his eyes that falters Katsuki’s step.

“Long time, no see, Bakugou.”

And, Katsuki, well, he’s never been one to beat around the bush. He drops the towered bento between the two kids — ‘according to that patchwork son-of-a-bitch, they need to eat.’ — and demands, “What the fuck happened to you? You guys were rich.”

Long, spindly fingers snake around the bento like pale garden snakes. Katsuki suppresses a shiver, he never did like Nagai’s quirk — the sound his fingers would make when extending always reminded him of those overly-gory horror movies.

Nagai doesn’t say anything. He won’t even look up, his face shadowed by greasy strings of hair that droop past his shoulders.

Katsuki used to like his hair, it was always shiny and thick. Brown, with the most subtle highlights one could only see when it was spring and sunlight would beam from the classroom windows right over his seat. He used to complain of overheating during these times. Katsuki used to send small explosions around his chair to make him sweat.

‘I’m not like that anymore,’ Katsuki begs of himself.

He squats down to their level and watches as the two tear into the bento like hungry wolves.

He waits until they’ve had a few pieces of meat and some rice, “Where’s Akairo? I can’t find anything on him.”

“Dead.”

Katsuki whips his head to Kemuri, “What?”

“Yeah,” grains of rice dot the boy’s cheeks. Kemuri brings the bowl up to his face and licks the bowl clean, “Thought you knew. Dumbass made a deal to be some old fucker’s experiment — thought he’d get stronger, or something. He never got into a hero school, and he liked flying.”

Katsuki remembers. Akairo Tsubasa was a dragon-like mutant — ‘heteromorph, you can’t call ‘em that’ — who spent 90% of his day above ground. His favorite hero was Ryukyu, to which Katuski used to roll his eyes over and tell him, ‘There’s no use in idolizing a hero that can do the same thing as you. No one’s interested in what the world already has.’

To his credit, Akairo usually would just laugh and respond with, ‘I don’t care about charts. I just want the license so I can fly without having to worry about getting fined or arrested!’

Katsuki latches onto the word, ‘experiment’. He can’t help but immediately think of the Nomus.

“Was he killed?”

Kemuri nods, “Stain.”

‘Gods, no,’ Katsuki couldn’t explain it to himself, he couldn’t logicalize the cold feeling in his chest. If he were to be completely honest with himself, he wasn’t really friends with those three. He was their fucked-up cult leader and they were dumb enough, impressionable enough, hell, maybe insecure enough to have followed him around like loyal puppies. Half the time, he barely remembered their names — admittedly, that’s why it took him so long just to find them.

Katsuki sighs and looks at the building the two boys lean on. He studied the dilapidated state of the wood — not rotted, but splintered and discolored. Mismatched tree bark nailed hastily throughout like bandaids, the temporary last-minute fixes of an oozing, wounded thing.

Katsuki clears his throat, “Why’re you two here, though. Did you run away from your homes?”

‘Were their homes as hostile as mine?’

The two have been scarfing down the contents of each bento bowl since the minute Katsuki arrived, but at this question, they both freeze. The knuckles of Nagai’s unstretched fingers turn white with the strength of his grip around the bowl.

“We’re orphans,” Kemuri starts, and his voice is so low and strained, that Katsuki has to lean in closer, “Our parents died in a hero fight. Building caught on fire, there were no survivors.”

‘Gods,’ Katsuki rubs his eye, ‘It just keeps getting worse. How did I not hear any of this?’

“Why this place? One bad rainstorm and it’s going to fucking collapse.”

Nagai hasn’t moved a single inch, and Kemuri shrugs, “Used to be one of the best, till heroes just kept flingin’ rocks and fuck-knows what else at it. A rainstorm taking this place down would be a blessing, at this point — insurance might then cover something.”

Kemuri’s tone, for the first time since Katsuki’s heard, turns bitter and his mouth tips into an ugly snarl — one Katsuki doesn’t think he’s ever seen, not even when they were bullying kids in their middle school homeroom. “Fuckin’ heroes,” he spits, literally, over his shoulder, and down the concrete they sit on with a frothy splat, “Never watching where they fucking aim.”

And, Katsuki — well, he’s a boy with the worst kind of anger issues and there is an undying need to defend his line of work, defend the concept of, ‘the ends justify the means,’ because — “These villains never stop, heroes have to make last minute decisions and they can’t — ”

“ — You think I care?”

Nagai’s voice has never been so loud.

He’s finally looked up and those eyes immediately shame every defense to die in Katsuki’s throat.

They’re angry, Nagai’s eyes — they’re pissed, but the set of his furrowed eyebrows speaks volumes of loss.

The loss of his family, the loss of his home — of warm food in his belly and the mundanity of watching Sunday quirk-sports with his father on a worn suede couch.

‘Yeah,’ Katsuki is right to be shamed. He’s never known loss, and though his house had never been warm, he cannot deny that the closest thing he might have to ‘a home’ awaits for him with the comradery of a hundred other kids, with the guarantee of a bright-eyed boy with too short eyebrows and too sharp teeth.

Katsuki admits he’s never cared much for these two boys, a thing he wishes he had the capacity to change, but he is striving to be a hero, and justice must be served.

With his unending resolve, Katsuki asks, “Who was the villain responsible for your parents’ death? I swear, I’ll fuckin’ get ‘em.”

Nagai’s burning eyes turn cold and a hopeless tear escapes to trail down his sunken cheek, “Endeavor.”
