Towards the Sun spoilers (I guess?)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So I've just (read: a few days ago but I was procrastinating on art) finished reading the prologue of Towards the Sun by @muffinlance (if you are unfamiliar with this ff, go read it and traumatize yourself, I recommend it :D). Even though I felt like drawing the Agni Kai, cause, like. Wow. I ended up drawing this silly one which plays off an old joke instead :D

I love how Cinder starts off and presents himself as hot shit, but the moment he comes up against someone who can actually fight back and DOES land a good hit on him, he's just down on the floor. He tries to get back up and literally gives up. He needs a magical power-up to defeat Kai, but once Kai gets Dragons Rising and levels the playing field once more? Cinder's right back to being scared and whimpering as he gets chased around.
Part 1 of this season ends with Ras having new plans, Jordana being unsettlingly messed up, Nokt furious and defiant. Meanwhile Cinder's just a confused and scared guy wondering what's going on. He's such a loser, with how he talks hot shit about the gong 'resonating inside of him' and 'shattering the dregs of goodness in his heart' I bet you he was just some wimpy loser who got shoved into a locker and wants to be cool and badass now. But he's just a tryhard edgelord. He's not even very good at Shatterspin, and redundant when we compare him to Nokt, who actually helped invent that technique and continued to stand his ground against ninja who had Rising Dragon, even knocking Nya down! If the rest of the FF had been released, Ras wouldn't even need Cinder.
Tumblr media
This is also why I love Kai and Cinder's dynamic because Kai remembered how he beat Ash and decided to carry it through to his successor. Kai isn't ending the cycle he's starting it. Cinder thinks he did an impressive showing beating up two kids, meanwhile Kai's faced infinitely worse threats than Cinder several times over, and won. He's an actual veteran who knows what he's talking about. Cinder is genuinely unsettled by Kai being an actual older threat, he sounds like he's gonna start crying for his mom.
In essence, their dynamic to me is this:

“Pabo-yah! We’re already late, Gyu!” Y/n huffed, stepping on the bike pedal harder.
“Step on it, Y/n!” He further pressed his tone along with his grip on her waist. Her smirk is anything but mirth at the male’s hot touch.
“Don’t tell me what to do!”
Y/n resisted to roll her eyes and keep her eyes on the road. Heck, she can’t even shut her eyes for a moment but she’s very much annoyed already.
And I know what you’re thinking, you’d usually expect the guy pressing on the bike to lead, with the girl riding behind them. Not that she's thinking of rom-com tropes with this dweeb. Ew.
If anything, Y/n thinks the same as well, but the exhausted cranks ticked her off. All of this whilst on how much Beomgyu is berating her while he’s the one sitting behind her. The nerves!
“Yeonjun keeps calling me! Our call time was ages ago—”
“Yes, I know, Captain Obvious!” Another huff, aligned as another tramp as a steep path meets them. And the ringing and vibrating noise in the background is pressuring her. “How about you be the one to take the wheel? Not me having to carry your ass up this hill!”
Man, why did they even think of taking a bike ride to go to the meetup?!
His dumbness is so contagious, that she might have to rethink her life choices hanging out with him too much. The single brain cell the two people have to share is oozing.
“Sorry if I have such a big ass—”
“For all things you have to apologize for,” Y/n grunts. “Why don’t you start with your stupidity? Pabo Beomgyu—”
The bike ride all the way to the hangout was rough, coarse as the words the two spit out to each other.
It was opposite to how soft her tone was at Taehyun, whom they just catch on with his magic tricks as if it’s an intermission number before their arrival.
Beomgyu rolls his eyes at how amused Y/n reacted, pulling two seats for both of them. He grabs her bag with a huff, putting it on a vacant seat.
“I know it’s impressive, but you seem overly fascinated by it, Y/n.”
“I don’t need your opinion, shut it, Gyu.”
“Hey, hey, how about you two chill?” Kai gestures to them to lower it down.
Soobin bats an eye at Kai. Of course that will calm these two feisty beans.
It earned another huff from Beomgyu as Yeonjun butts in, rubbing his hands in anticipation, he smirks at the two new arrivals. “And you two already know the deal right?”
“Yeah, yeah.” Beomgyu throws a towel near Y/n, sliding his card with his other hand. “I’m on it—”
Barely having enough reaction time on the thrown towel, she wipes her sweat in confusion, furrowing her eyebrows at Beomgyu. “I also have to contrib—”
“I said I’m on it,” he pressed. “Don’t make me change my mind, Y/n.”
“Geez, Choi Beomgyu,” she says in defeat. “Suit yourself, Sweet Cheeks.”
Before another banter ensues with his sharp daggers at her, Soobin intervenes.
“Thank you, Choi Beomgyu!” He beams, wrapping both Beomgyu’s arms to grab his attention.
‘I’m also late, why does he have to take all of the credit?’ Y/n pouts at the thought, and it remains a thought as Beomgyu looks like he's already settled it. She just stayed eased in her seat, having to emphasize at least to herself. ‘I need to pay for the food too since I’m also late.’ But she doesn't want to ruin Beomgyu’s already good mood.
In Beomgyu’s defense, they wouldn’t be late if it weren’t for him, and Y/n’s effort in taking them there, he had to make up for it. Of course, he won’t say that directly.
“Beomgyu, you dummy,” she says inaudibly, more on pouting seeing him this energetic with them.
She just goes on and joins them but alas, her social battery is bound to be quickly depleted with a group dominated by extroverts.
“I'm sure Y/n missed us so much she's this speechless huh?” Yeonjun says, making Y/n smile wide at how he's even laughing along with the others. Hyuka’s laugh, in particular, is hilariously contagious, oh lord— “It's just been so long with the semester piling up uni work, y’kno? This is a nice break.”
“Look at how this cutie is gracing us with her charm.” He goes on and pinches her cheek but Beomgyu is quick to swat his hand away from her, earning a smirk from Yeonjun.
This sly fox.
Beomgyu quickly catches on and he gets caught in his clutches, turning to what Yeonjun wanted.
“Aigooo…” Yeonjun turns his attention to him. He just goes on to aggressively wipe Beomgyu's lips as he's pretty much slobbered with gochujang sauce to be even bothered.
“Hyung! You almost wiped his lips off!” Kai points out how Yeonjun is holding down Beomgyu's head a bit too firmly.
Soobin just laughs hysterically. “That better shut him up, he's hella noisy!”
Yeonjun continues with his agenda at hand, further throwing Beomgyu off with his question. “Don't you agree Y/n is such a cutie, Beomgyu? Good enough to be someone's girlfriend, hmmm?”
Yeonjun kinda hitting on Y/n earns an eye roll from the other. “Ya! Stop that.”
“I ought to start than being a slowpoke!” Yeonjun was clearly taking Beomgyu's annoyance with his comment rather than Yeonjun touching him.
“What are you on about?”
Y/n is just ignoring them. Not catching on as it's pretty much the same thing with their bantering. Right? She just shakes her head, it can't be even bothered. Hyuka is mostly the only one who got the hang of being nice to a girl, and Taehyun… Soobin as well. Maybe because they have a sister. Or who knows?
Y/n sighs.
It's not just being nice and giving compliments being the lack or being the problem.
“You guys need to talk to girls more.” her tone is a bit prim. The jerk of the guys’ brow set a different mood. It just left Y/n tilting their head on them.
Or whatever they’re trying to achieve here for the matter.
Is this Yeonjun’s way of making up for all the teasing? But how is it that Beomgyu is against this whole 'being nice' thing? And towards me?
Yeonjun was simply complimenting me, right? How is it that Beomgyu is so provoked?
Her thoughts just left her spinning like a cyclone.
Given that it's Beomgyu that talks the most with Y/n. They're pretty close. And his company fills the warmth and hole that she needs to be entertained.
As much as she despises his guts, might as well put his existence to use, right?
But is bantering all there's to it?
Because outside the claw ripping and hissing, there isn’t much room given for them to talk heart-to-heart. The others give them a chance but it’s often thrown out the window quickly, as bantering seems to be the top priority and the most natural and most sane option for the two.
What even begins to draw and intrigue me with such a guy?
Y/n had her chin propped up in her palm, lazily glancing over Beomgyu and others going about their day.
What's stopping them from being close?
Not that she wants to be close with him of course.
It’s not like she really looks at her obnoxious friend in a certain light right? Y/n doesn’t treat Beomgyu any differently, if anything she’s mostly focused on him just because he’s an attention-grabbing loudmouth of a friend. She’s even sure that given Y/n had four more other guys to validate this, they’ll say the same tops how they just appear as frenemies at most give or take.
She’s left quiet the whole time just observing the group, particularly the loud megaphone they acquired of a friend. There was a clear distinction between who is introverted and extroverted. With how Soobin and Y/n are just munching their way into the bread they ordered in peace.
Can there ever be a day for me and Beomgyu to be this solemn as well?
Aish, what am I even saying? The redness on her face is easily prompted up her skin as she fixes herself in her seat. Y/n kept her demeanor stoic and expressionless. Not that she was even trying to give effort on this.
Having gotten used to their silence and behavior, Taehyun picked up something else from the lady that he had to tap into her shoulder.
“You good?” Taehyun says, gesturing with a thumbs up. She mirrors his bright expression, though it came off bleaker than expected. “Fine, Taehyunnie, just tired.”
She didn't know that that would be the first surge of her fatigue.
Tumblr media
“Where’s Y/n?”
You wouldn't really expect it to be coming out of Beomgyu's mouth as 1. They are almost always the two stuck to the hip, it's mostly the gang asking either of them where each other is. and 2. Don't they hate each other's guts to be this concerned about the other's absence?— But that dismisses the first point— Soobin shook his head and finally answered Beomgyu's query, though with the same worry.
“Didn't she message you that she's staying sick at home?”
A crease appeared on Beomgyu's forehead. “Wasn't she just fine the other day?”
Soobin shrugs. “I thought so too, we're thinking of visiting her later but she refused. Her cold is contagious, she said.”
“Aish, I don't care. You know how that girl is.”
With a sprint, Soobin wasn't able to stop Beomgyu in his tracks. But he knows as well how his friend means well, and Beomgyu knows Y/n the best. Even if they appear they would slit each other's throats.
-
“Fudgesticks, my throat is killing me.”
It’s as if a slit down her neck appeared, along with piles of tissues by her bedside consuming her space.
Y/n also forgot due to her raging headache to buy some necessities to at least ease her pain. She can't talk well to let her Mom know so she's mostly stuck in bed.
“My vision is too blurry for this.”
Even tapping on her phone is strenuous. Y/n gets into another coughing fit before she hears a knock on the door.
She didn't order anything, or know someone coming over. But the familiar footsteps and patterned knock even pushed through her muffled hearing.
Her ears turned red at the sight of her friend, a bag on hand with some fever-cooling patches. Even with a mask on, he still looks cool. Huh?
What was that about, Y/n?
Moreover… What the hell is he here for?!
“Beomg—” She was quickly shut silent as he peeled off the seal on the cooling patch, placing it on her forehead. It at least soothes her, relaxing her in her bed. Maybe because of the elevated temperature that she softens for Beomgyu.
He pulls down his mask as he leans close, checking her neck with the back of his hand. Y/n didn’t know but this was the most quiet she had seen Beomgyu. His face painted with worry and seriousness even throws her off. Is her fever turning her delirious? How is it that every bit of his movement is caught by her vision? As if played in slow motion? Heol.
Y/n from her is sure she’s stone-cold sober and off her fever already. So this might be caused by something else… Okay, breathe.
But it's not usual for him to be this way.
He even fixes the placement of the cooling patch before speaking again. “Damn, it barely fits with your forehead so big.”
There we go.
“Be glad I'm not in the energy to argue right now.” She barely responds as another cough kicks in, Y/n quickly covers her mouth as Beomgyu hands her a tissue.
“I'll make the most out of it, no worries “ He beams a shit-eating grin.
“What are you doing here?” she finally asks. Most probably to annoy me, she figures. That’s practically the reason he was born to do so. But what added another crease on her forehead was her realization hitting her, glancing back at her door. “And how…?”
“Your mom is going out, so she told me to take care of you.”
“Heol.”
“Hey, don't be like that,” Beomgyu shakes his head, but no dismay can be traced in his wide smile. “What I'm doing is already charity, showering you with my presence.”
“That goes more to Mom.” she snarks. “She likes you so much.”
“Hmmm? I'm so handsome and nice that she wants me as a son huh?”
She probably shouldn't have said that. It's obvious how it pumps his ego with his head already so massive.
“Since I'm done acknowledging your presence, how ‘bout you go home.” she huffs, pulling the blanket over her face.
Beomgyu just sits beside her in her bed, shrugging as he keeps his lips pursed. “I know you'll reject me coming here if I don't barge in, so I had my way.”
“Right…” she coughs again, limiting her words and pulling further away from Beomgyu. “I suppose…ha- the others… told you not to visit?”
“Yeah, you were quite persistent on it, knowing Soobin he'll comply. But remember I'm more persistent than you, Y/n.”
“Making it a competition still, huh?” She barely rolls her eyes at him, in a mix of amusement and annoyance. But the cooling feeling on her forehead and the paper bag beside her puts her at ease. She can't help but stare at him but it feels quite strange seeing him like this, and the two of them not bantering for a hot minute.
The sickness buff I guess, he's being nice.
“Plus, your mom makes delicious soup, I ought to have it all by myself without the gang.”
His true colors show through. Y/n snickers. “FYI, that's for me, Beomgyu.”
“For us.”
He’s still as cheeky, she digressed.
Usually, it's no fun being sick in bed, boring at most with nothing to do. But Beomgyu's visit at least lessened that boredom.
After a warm meal together, he still stayed in and revealed to bring some of his DVDs for them to share. Besides the more calmer version of Beomgyu, their conversation is to the least minimal with bantering, even having to adjust to her not screaming or straining her throat too much over video games. Fighting games and cooking games are surprisingly a good match for the two of them despite being cat and dog most of the time.
He had been incredibly mindful and detailed in being patient with her despite being a fanatic gamer on things. His tone and deep voice are soothing to the ears he's even helping her in the process.
Is it really just the heat of the slight fever or is the warmth of her cheeks different from anything?
“Ya! Pabo-yah! The rice is burning, Y/n!” It snaps Y/n back to her place, they're playing Overcooked, and Beomgyu is their supposed Head Chef.
He had a stern look on his face that made her flustered.
“Sorry!” She didn’t even bump his arm that harshly but having to hear him wince at her closeness, she had to follow-up another apology. I didn’t notice the band-aids and bandages earlier. “What happened to your arm?”
“That’s nothing, come on, let’s go over this stage again.” Beomgyu quickly brushes off any means of asking about it. It draws her attention away further when he’s back with his immersed stare and explanation to her throughout the game.
She can't help but enjoy this moment but has he been this warm leaning close to her and less annoying?
Wasn’t this what tickled her curiosity about what it would look like if they were anything but down each other’s throats?
And this is surprisingly… to her liking. Being with Choi Beomgyu like this.
This was different from the other day. Much different from their usual time around each other. Or has his smile always been like this and I just refused to see it this way because my pride is in the way?
Nah, being prideful and spouting the word ‘pabo’ runs smoothly and is easier.
This is easier to maintain.
But his smiling at her as they got 3 Stars in the game struck her as well.
“We work so well, Beomgyu.” I can at least give him the same warmth for now.
Y/n needs to get out of this fever-like dream.
Tumblr media
Y/n is still not quite out of it even with her fever and health recuperated. It added more confusion to her seeing Beomgyu up and early before heading to school, near an alley practicing riding a bike.
He almost topples over along his bike seeing her presence— is he embarrassed or?
Y/n jerked her body in a mix of running towards him to check up on him and a sense of withdrawal. She might’ve looked stupid, glitching in place.
She's supposed to hide as she's still not ready to face him, but there's nothing wrong right? How is it that she's this ditzy? Why did she even think of hiding in the first place?
But she cannot stand looking at his stupid face, ridiculous how it's all for another reason other than annoyance—
“Y/n~!” Beomgyu chimes as he comes rushing to her.
He invites her to go to school together, mostly it's incoherently received on Y/n’s end as she's washed with disbelief.
Blinking a few more times, she just stands there motionless. More on how, he… Choi Beomgyu… wants to go together with me to school?
“Okay… uhm, are we taking the bus or?” The words finally reach Y/n’s tongue but her vision still cannot process much looking at Beomgyu's face.
“We can take a bike ride on the way?” Beomgyu suggests.
Okay, coming off with an odd but usual start for them.
Huh?
“Are you asking me to drive for you, or—” She starts slowly, trying to conceal her tone. Y/n is a bit pissed knowing she just came off from a fever but was dumbfounded at his answer.
“I’ll be the one…” Beomgyu says.
She perked a brow at him, skeptical of his answer. “You sure about that?”
Beomgyu promptly nods.
Being too caught up to think of even bringing up what she saw earlier, by the looks of it… was he learning how to ride a bike these past few days? She can’t even begin to look at his obvious bandages… Choi Beomgyu, you… sighs… Don’t tell me it’s because of him practicing too much? But why so suddenly? And for what…?
“Come on, Y/n, we're gonna catch up to Christmas if you still don't plan on budging.”
Y/n barely even had a chance to refuse with Beomgyu already pulling her close.
The bike ride was a little bit bumpy, but more or less smoother than expected not till they encountered some humps along the road.
“Beomgyu, slow down!” she yelps. It made Y/n cling to his torso, the vibrations of his laughter didn't help as they scurried on their way to university.
He's having too much fun with this.
-
“Why are you suddenly being nice to me?” She finally mustered up.
“Haven't I always been nice to you?”
“Are you kidding me?” For once she was not amused by his teasing, her knowledge of the bandages on Beomgyu’s arm added to her withdrawal from banter.
“I'm the nicest out of the crew, what do you mean?” Beomgyu appealed.
“Yeah, yeah. You're a saint compared to Kai.”
She was trying her best not to fidget in place, but her fingers landed at the edge of his polo shirt. Her pleading eyes made Beomgyu give in. And this isn’t the first time this happened to him.
“I feel bad, okay?” Beomgyu slips, but the context is still not out there for the other end to comprehend, making the girl look up at him.
“Hmmm?”
He tried his best to keep the light atmosphere, but maybe the sting on his arms urged him to reach out to her? Here goes nothing.
“You've been doing much for me, Y/n.” Beomgyu voiced out. “I didn't even realize you were tired. Last week when you still pushed through to ride a bike with you. I mean I've always seen you as a strong person, but I often forget how you hide your problems. And I at least want to give back to you.”
“Huh?” Is he for real now? But he had done so much for her in taking care of her when she was sick, and in some other instances—
“I know you don't like hearing this or me taking the blame but I know it's partly because of me you got sick. You got fatigued over carrying my big ass. And yeah, I've been a big ass for quite some time now towards you so I'm sorry.”
“Yeah, your big ass is at fault here. Definitely.” It slipped off Y/n’s lips out of disbelief that he even apologized for that, she sneers. “You're heavy up that hill when you’ve got mountains,” Y/n added, pointing at his bottoms.
“Y/n, what the heck? You're talking to me about my ass like that?” Beomgyu goes on and hides his bum with both his hands.
“Yeah, you're my ass.”
“What?”
“What?”
Y/n is shocked at herself as well, did she just claim him-oh sh—
“You're an ass,” she retaliated. “A-and, you started it!”
“Nuh-uh, I heard something else.”
Is he sure he wants to guarantee what I just said?!
“It's probably because you fell from that bike from that curb.” Y/n turned her back to him quickly and fastened her pace. “Now come on, chop-chop! We're gonna be late, remember?”
Beomgyu blushed to himself, didn't know she'd catch him that way but he'd act nonchalant and turn the tides back at her.
Just as she’s secured in his back, he stepped on the pedal and took her by surprise. “So you want me as your ass?”
The emphasis on ‘your’— It took all her self-control to convert her urge to push him off into huffing out CO2. “Can we stop talking about asses?”
“Aye, sorry you don't have one—”
“Choi Beomgyu!”
“No worries, I'll let you carry mine anytime.” The obvious wink in his tone made her writhe in embarrassment. Y/n just holds onto him even though she’s going to turn this smooth ride unstable with the amount of teasing he’s doing.
“I'd rather not.”
“Okay, I'll ride along with you in whatever you prefer. But don't you want to ask me what I prefer?”
“What?” She lightly tapped him on the shoulder, even by the leg to signal him to side the road first. Without going down the bike, they just stayed there, the atmosphere between the two not as still as the raving wind. The two are slightly in regret for being too close to each other. But they’re also too stubborn to budge to hide away the obvious pumping heartbeats deafening them.
“How about you take the whole package, can I be yours?” Still not turning to Y/n, Beomgyu shakes like the leaf on the tree.
Y/n furrowed her brows, mouth agape as it’s been robbed with words. She did her best not to touch her bandages to make him twirl and turn to face him properly.
Y/n leaned in close to him but the words still not quite reconnected with her brain.
Beomgyu blushes at their distance, much the same and quite different from when she was sick. There's a hint of rose pink in her cheeks that he is quite distracted to not notice her flick his forehead. “Aish!”
“Are you sick in the head?!” Y/n fumes. “What nonsense are you spurting, do you even take responsibility for that?!”
“Yes!”
“Pabo. Let's go.” Turns her back blushing, but he easily catches on to get the bike from her. “Let's go, Pabo-yah.”
Moment of silence enveloping them, the thumping of their hearts still quite not simmering down their caged bodies. The only thing distancing them are the bike handles they’re walking in by other ends.
“Are you serious?” She almost blurted way too loudly to her liking, it came off breathless. “Be mine?”
“Be yours, be my baby. Whatever suits you.” Beomgyu directly stares at her but he’s also on the verge of melting in his scarlet cheeks. But he had to stand his ground and make this clear. “And okay, I know Yeonjun and I get on each other's nerves a lot but the last time just pushed me to admit it, okay?
“The randomly brought up comments about ‘cutie’ and ‘GF’ thingy with me?”
“So you were listening to that time— but that’s beside the point, you’re more than that, Y/n.” Okay… it’s just that he did push me to admit that I like you. I like you, Y/n. Not to sound like a high school kid but I like-like you, Y/n. To be clear. And I'm sorry for being an ass most of the time but you know that it wasn't meant to hurt you like harm you.
“I know, Beomgyu,” she admits, finally without that mask of pride of wanting to one-up him, as there is no means of doing that right now. As of right now, she’s also seeing Beomgyu as he is, without their childish attempts to get into each other’s skin.
And why did they even begin to do that, and since when?
That is not for this agenda to go through, Y/n just laughs in disbelief, but it’s now about her whole belief system being rearranged about this man standing so close to her.
Without any ounce of fake-built grudge, she warmly smiles at Beomgyu.
“Same here. I like you.”
It really showed through more in her vulnerable state, and that time he took care of her when she was sick in bed resurfaced a lot of things in the past as proof he had been looking out for her all this time. Even though it is mostly swept under the rug forcibly by the guy himself by the amount of teasing and bantering. He was hiding it under the guise of being a prick when he’s actually soft on the inside.
But it’s all no longer for naught.
Aish, Choi Beomgyu. We really went all through that as it’s more fun that way huh?
“I bet Soobin will say ‘Took you guys long enough!’” The thought brushed past Y/n, making her shake her head in all this absurdity.
“I’ll add another 5,000 won if Taehyun says ‘I almost got sick of your bantering!’”
Calculating the closeness and blurting out her summation, she marveled at the near future expectation. “Now they have to deal with us being lovey-dovey, huh?”
“Heol.”
The duo, as if in full sync, made fake barf noises, then burst out laughing. Y/n and Beomgyu unconsciously intertwined their fingers until fully wrapped around each other, giddily holding hands on the way to the university.
So the feelings were hindering them, and they concealed it underneath all that cat and dog masquerade.
But what’s sure for her is that she’ll certainly ride along these feelings and where this would take them, together.

If damon would have actually left bonnie in season 6 and choose Elena would kai have saved her ?
oh anon, this is one of my TVD roman empires.
i'm a firm believer that yeah, kai was absolutely walking over to heal her himself. i swing between thinking a. that was always his plan and he never would have let her die for real and b. he decides halfway across the room that damon doesn't deserve the easy way out and he saves her to spite him. either way, he lost Jo tonight. he's not letting Bonnie go, too.
if i could rewrite it i'd do it something like this:
we'd get to hear the rest of his villain monologue and it would end with him crouching down beside her and being like "you really need better friends bonster - that could have been me if you weren't so easily manipulated"
she's glaring up at him, gasping for air: "f - uck .... o - ff"
and he'd laugh, bite his wrist, and go "is that anyway to talk to the man about to save your life??? nooo, didn't think so" and while she's drinking and clinging to him he'd get that blood sharing rush and start babbling and in my perfect world that's the moment she learns about him helping on her birthday.
"i've done this before you know, without the - the weirdly intense blood thing, bon stop looking at me you're making me lightheaded close your eyes, thanks - yeah, anyway, i've done this before. can't believe i'm playing the hero after nuking the whole coven. the irony is not lost on me, lemme tell you - what? don't squint at me, why would i make that up? i saved you on your birthday bon-,"
and she'd rip away from him and go "jeremy saved me-,"
"jeremy ? hold on, thiS WHOLE TIME YOU THOUGHT IT WAS OKay, okay sure he opened the garage door, but who do you think gave him the power to do it?"
bonnie stares up at him in horror, realizing that a witch being involved actually does make so much more sense. kai would lean in closer to her, she's probably still holding his hand so he's got the other braced by her head and she's too shocked to move away.
"i saved you, bonnie. me."
she's looking up at him, eyes frantically bouncing between his, and whispers: "but why?"
"i already told you," he'd sneer, "i felt bad. i regretted leaving you. you're the one who didn't listen. you're the one who didn't believe me. you trusted your stupid friends, and look what it got you. damon left. he picked elena. you gave up everything for him and-,"
"stop," she'd say, trying to get away. but he'd grab her chin and make her look at him.
"they don't care about you, bonnie. you're just a magical help button to them. they call you because they know you won't say no. and you know the worst part about all this? the part i hope keeps you up at night?" he'd lean in even closer, whispering in her ear: "i would have picked you."
and then he'd leave. straight vanish at vamp speed into the night. and bonnie's laying there, in the wreckage of the wedding, all alone.
she cry's.
it makes no sense...and yet it makes perfect sense. damon lies as much as kai. damon is selfish. of course he'd pick elena. shit, bonnie would probably pick elena. what does that say about her? how has she let them convince her she's not worth picking? no, enough. that ends right now. she'd pull herself together, and she'd start walking home.
she'd go straight to the salvatore house. the doors open so she walks in. everyone is there, regrouping and crying and sitting quietly in shock. no one is looking for her. what did damon even tell them, when he came back without her? why did no one come back for her body?
caroline sees her first. she stands on shaky legs, staring at her wide eyed. "oh my god, bonnie? how - damon said you - he said that kai-,"
ah, so he blamed it on kai. funny, he seems to be doing that an awful lot lately.
"he lied," bonnie says. "he does that. damon. he lies."
caroline would run to her, breathlessly laughing, but bonnie doesn't return the hug.
"stefan!" caroline yells. "stefan, come here!"
he comes vamping in, sees the look in bonnie's eyes, and goes perfectly still. there's a phone in his hand, and quietly he says: "damon, i think i know why elena's not waking up. i'm gonna call you back in a minute."
from there i want them all realizing that bonnie has to be protected from damon. in this situation he's gone full rouge and he's proved he's willing to kill bonnie to get elena back. i don't think there's a world where they go back to prison world status besties after that.
kai, of course, is probably still lurking in town. maybe he went back to portland for a bit but he always comes back...he just can't leave bonnie alone.

Do you like your men to have private armies but prefer access to antibiotics? Come right on in...
Watching the delicious trashiness of Maid’s Revenge has inspired me to make a listing of my favorite (and not so favorite) warlord and warlord adjacent cdramas. If like me, you like your male leads with polished boots and a side of murder, come right in. From most to least fave.
Siege in Fog
Tumblr media
My most favorite on this list, this is visually gorgeous and emotionally visceral. Plus, it’s not just ONE warlord, it’s a whole family of them! It follows a deeply dysfunctional marriage between a beautiful woman and a warlord’s second son, where they fight and angst and love and fight some more, all the while bullets are flying and bodies are piling up. If you like incredible visuals, insane chemistry, dysfunction by the bucket and not one, not two, but THREE hot warlords, come right in. It’s based on a Fei Wo Si Cun novel so I assume you know you need a lot of tissues.
To sum up:
Tumblr media
Too Late to Say I Love You
Tumblr media
Another FWSC adaptation! This is an older drama, done long before cdrama’s recent unwelcome slide into wholesomeness, which means epic makeouts but also a warlord that revels in murder (at one point he takes out all his potential rivals, including his loved sister’s entire fam.) The OTP is dysfunctional - they hate, then they love, then they break up but he can’t let go - and the chemistry is beyond insane, with Wallace Chung and Li Xiao Ran melting my computer. Also, for once, a happy ending!
Winter Begonia
Tumblr media
Probably the only genuine masterpiece on the list (tho I love FWSC dysfunction best for purely personal reasons), this is a MM story (though being cdrama it’s not explicit, though quite clear) and Huang Xiaoming as a trader with a private army and Yin Zheng as an opera singer with whom he forms a bond are both!!! I highly recommend it.
City of Streamer
Tumblr media
Should be called “City of Steamer” because those make-outs and chemistry are epic! Timmy Xu is a son of a shady businessmen (with a small army of gun happy goons) who falls hopelessly in love with an older governess (Jing Tian) who is out for revenge on his family. She starts out using him and ends up using him in a different sense, if you know what I mean! The plot derails a bit by the end but it’s still a great watch.
PS...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Maid’s Revenge
Tumblr media
I am watching it right now. At only 10 minutes per ep, it skips plot and gives us the melo and chemistry we (and I mean I) crave and a guy whose muscles should be in a museum.
The Lady and the Liar
Tumblr media
Hawick Lau is the ML and we all know this means “hot bastard.” He’s a crime lord with a goon squad falling for a lost heiress who loses her memory so he lies she’s his fiancee and deliciousness ensues. MMMMM
Arsenal Military Academy
Tumblr media
Xu Kai is warlord jr but this is here mainly because of his awesome brother the businessman with murder squad. The drama is so-so (patriotism overtakes the amazing chemistry between Bai Lu and Xu Kai) but might be worth a peek.
Cruel Romance
Tumblr media
(Can you say no to this face?)
Joey Chen has never worked in anything for me and this is no exception, but Huang Xiao Ming is dashing as hell as a sexy gangster.
Love In The Flames of War
Tumblr media
The heroine is terrible (I kept rooting for her to get accidentally shrapnelled) but Shawn Dou is sexy as hell as a warlord. (In the novel he was apparently a rapey headcase; they made him lovely in the drama without making his wife saner which is...a choice.) I’d say worth it on FF for hotness and whippings.
The Mystic Nine
Tumblr media
I tried. I tried to watch this drama three times. I could not. But William Chan as a warlord in a three-piece suit and cape is mega mega fine!
I suffer so you won’t have to:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fall In Love
Tumblr media
The worst drama on this list, insulting to intelligence of anyone above pre-school level, 90% of the cast, including the leading lady, incapable of acting, a plot that makes a picture book seem complex and fashion disasters galore. However, Chen Xing Xu, playing the smirky warlord, carries this mess harder than Atlas and deserves to be in another, better drama altogether. Oh, what wouldn’t I give for him as a proper FWSC warlord!
Honorable Mention:  Forward Forever - haven’t watched that one but keep meaning to.

Note
Because Billy Zabka is from New York and his accent is very very obvious in the first movie (especially in the deleted scenes), I think it'd be very fun to imagine a hockey au where Johnny plays for the Rangers and Daniel plays for the Devils and they have such a severe rivalry that they can't go any game without fighting each other.
But then Johnny ends up getting traded to the Devils after a bit of a sketchy trade and it is absolute chaos in the Prudential Center.
HI HAHAHA THIS TOOK ME FOREVER TO ANSWER SORRY SIFIEIFIF ... Mostly cuz I don't know anything about hockey, BUT:
I googled the territories and the VERY STRONG rivalry between the Devils and the Rangers. And honing in on this between Johnny and Daniel? HEHEHE I AM OBSESSED!
I have read a couple hockey aus, and even an ice dancer/hockey player au, so they are out there if you haven't read them!! Unfortunately I can't specifically recall titles or authors :/
Also since, as you can tell, I am not a sports person, I googled the teams' uniforms ... and I find it veeeery interesting that, from what I can tell, Daniel is in the red uniform at first while Johnny's in blue. Sort of a switcheroo from their usual color symbolism in Cobra Kai haha.
Not to mention that Daniel's a "Devil" like HAHAHA oh man I can only imagine the shitty corny insults Johnny comes up with. But then Johnny gets TRADED? lol sucks to be you, man (actually no it doesn't, get ready to be hit not with just pucks and sticks and competitive bodies, but the GAYLOVE BEAM as well)
Also imagining the coverage of this is hilarious. "Well, if Lawrence and LaRusso would stop making eyes at each other and undergoing intricate rituals to touch each other's skin, maybe we'd fucking get somewhere in this match!"
Also!! In the movie, Ali is a karate fan! She knows things about karate! She knows how the tournament works! She's watched it! She's engaged! So I can only imagine she's a hockey fan too. And she sees right through these two's idiocy mwahaha. Also, Susan is some kind of hockey player too and they're in lesbians with each other, I'm obsessed with this too.
HEY BOYS IF YOU COULD TAKE AFTER THE GIRLS THAT WOULD BE GREAT. PLEASE NO MORE KNOCKING TEETH OUT. JUST KISS FFS
lmfao I'm sure I did not answer this adequately but given my lack of expertise, I think I did...my best. LOL. thank you anon for the lawrusso delusions <3

Wildest Dreams
Chapter 2: He's So Tall and Handsome as Hell
Pairing: Dieter Bravo x Original Female Character
Warnings: 18+ Minors DNI, drug use, alcohol use, partying, smoking, spanking, mm kissing, ff kissing, old timey taboo
Word Count: 4.9k
A/N: Here's some angst for ya. Thank you for reading!
Dieter
Dieter was barely lucid by the time John arrived, but John fixed him up quickly. He’d made the stupid mistake of thinking John was there to break into his house despite the fact that his residence was carefully guarded by security.
“Are you taking downers?” John asked. He looked handsome. His blonde hair was neatly styled, and he was wearing baby blue. Dieter always loved it when he wore light colors. “You didn’t have to pregame so hard.”
“Dunno,” Dieter shrugged. “Too much time to wait.”
“‘Kay,” John said. He procured a pill bottle from his pocket and set a bottle of whiskey and a shot glass down on the coffee table. “Well, take some of this. You’ll pep right up. We’ve got girls coming. Lots of them. I did something you’re not going to believe, Dieter.”
Dieter took the small pill from John and threw it back with a shot of whiskey John poured for him. The shot screamed down his throat, burning up his nose and stimulating his senses.
“Nice,” Dieter commented. He loved the burn of whiskey as it went down. “What did you do?”
“I scouted the fucking acting schools,” John said. His brown eyes lit up with excitement.
“I’ve got 30-something acting school girls coming. Plus, our normal crowd. This party is going to be insane!”
Dieter was a bit too numb to match John’s level of enthusiasm, but he smiled and nodded to show his approval. If John was happy, he was happy. He hadn’t seen John this happy in a while. Ever since their big fight, John had kept his distance.
To be truthful with himself, Dieter wasn’t quite sure what the sudden change was.
Maybe it was that Dieter had drugs or that his house was bigger than John’s, so he could throw a proper rager.
Or maybe he’d gotten in trouble with his PR team for throwing parties at his own house and wanted to use Dieter’s house as a loophole.
Regardless of the reason, Dieter thought spending time with John was worth it.
Dieter was used to being used by people. All his life, he’d been used by people, whether it was for fame, money, sex, drugs, alcohol, or a cheap laugh.
“That’s awesome, John,” Dieter said. “How the hell did you manage that?”
“I’ve got connections,” John said. He poured Dieter another shot.
“Another one of my friends is bringing bottles. Don’t worry, this isn’t all we’ll have.”
“Good,” Dieter said, throwing the second shot back. “I was promised vodka.”
“Were you?” John asked, raising a blonde eyebrow.
Dieter wasn’t sure if he was playing dumb or if he was lying to him.
“Can we get some lights turned on in this place?” John asked, wandering over to the kitchen. “Do you usually just sit in the dark?”
Dieter shrugged. “I was on my own until you showed up. Let’s get those lights on so I can see your pretty face.”
“That’s more like it,” John said. He flicked the kitchen lights on, and Dieter almost gasped as he realized how shitty John looked.
He knew that he was spun out on drugs, but John had lost weight in the weeks since he’d last seen him. John’s cheekbones, usually prominent and handsome, jutted out unnaturally compared to his sunken in cheeks. His jaw wasn’t filled out either, making his chin look larger.
He didn’t look like himself.
He didn’t look like the John that Dieter was used to. But when John smiled at him, it was still that same smile, and Dieter realized he’d still kiss him in a heartbeat all the same. John just needed to eat more food. That was all.
Dieter could feed him. He made more than enough money to support John if he was struggling with eating. Or they could hire someone to bring him food. There had to be a solution.
Dieter’s mind was racing, and John’s mouth was moving, and Dieter couldn’t hear him.
“What did you say?” Dieter asked after a while. He was leaning against the counter, using it as support for his weight. His body felt heavy, and his head felt light.
“I said Mary Alice was pulled from the Paramount film,” John said with a grin. “I think it means you got the role.”
There was another man in the kitchen with John now, one that Dieter didn’t recognize.
He was taller than John but not taller than Dieter and had sandy brown hair. He was busy unloading bottles of alcohol out of a cardboard box and onto the other countertop.
“Who are you?” Dieter asked. He’d lost time between what John said about Mary Alice and now. There was a shot of whiskey served up right in front of him, speaking his name.
“Fred,” the man said, holding his hand out for Dieter to shake it. Instead, Dieter grabbed the shot glass and downed it, leaving Fred with his hand extended until he finally decided to retract it.
“When are people showing up?” Dieter asked.
“Now,” John said, as if Dieter was missing something.
When he turned around, he realized that there were already a couple dozen people milling around his living room. Music was playing from his record player, and girls were wearing shiny dresses that showed off their shoulders and their figures.
“Oh,” Dieter said. “I’m going to go talk to people, then.”
“Have fun,” John said. Dieter looked away, trying to find a beautiful girl in the room to talk to.
There were plenty of them, no shortage, really. John had done a really good job putting together the guest list.
What was it he said? Did he raid an acting school?
Genius, John.
John was so smart. So handsome. So strung out on drugs, God, he was so skinny now.
Dieter was worried, but Dieter couldn’t judge. He was also strung out on drugs.
The devil makes company.
His thoughts were like spaghetti in his hands, noodles slipping through his fingers as time and space contracted and flexed around him.
One moment, a girl would be sitting in his lap, her form pressed up against him. The next, she’d be gone, as if she was just a phantom, a poltergeist.
Dieter told himself he needed to slow down, but the drinks kept coming. Liquor flowed into his hand like it appeared out of thin air.
And the pills…
Once John opened up his not-so-secret box of fun on the coffee table, it was like all hell had sprung loose. Women flocked to the sitting area like vultures surrounding a carcass. They giggled and shrieked, taking turns as they quickly depleted Dieter’s stash.
John asked him if he had any more drugs.
Of course, he did.
Dieter wandered off to grab more from his closet—a second supply. An addict never hid all of his shit in the same place. How stupid would that be?
He dropped off the drugs with John and waited patiently for John to help him do another line. How many had he done tonight? What was it he’d grabbed from the closet?
Dieter blinked, then blinked again. His vision had gone fuzzy, but it cleared up quickly.
Time seemed to skip, bending and flexing. He stumbled backward into his seat, unaware that he’d been standing.
John laughed and slung his arm around his shoulder. He was warm and fit against him like the perfect puzzle piece. Oh, Dieter missed John. He wished John would come around more.
He wished it was just the two of them alone now. They didn’t need all of these people to have a good time.
“This is the best party I’ve been to in a minute,” John whispered in his ear.
“Yeah?” Dieter asked. “Why do you say that?”
“There are so many women,” John said with a laugh that sent tingles up Dieter’s spine. “I really outdid myself this time.”
“You did,” Dieter agreed. “I don’t know how you fit so many people in here.”
“Magic,” John joked.
He tried to remember the other parties that he’d been to with John in the months before they’d stopped spending as much time with one another. There was the one that quickly devolved into a sex party.
Dieter could almost taste John’s lips on his tongue. The memory was so vivid. It felt like he was reliving the moment now.
But then he was kissing John, cupping his chin on the couch in his living room. The brash feel of stubble against his fingertips felt like electricity. John tasted like whiskey, and he smelled like sin and smoke.
“What are you doing?” John asked.
“What?” Dieter said.
He was in John’s lap, kissing him, and the girls around them were watching. They always kissed at parties. This wasn’t anything new.
But things had changed between Dieter and John in the passing months, as much as Dieter didn’t want to admit it. He wasn’t John’s number one, and he wasn’t sure if he’d ever be.
“There’s too many people here,” John said, giving him a gentle shove. “Not now.”
Dieter stood up and swayed, finding balance difficult.
“Okay,” he said, as if his heart wasn’t shattered. “That’s okay.”
John gathered a young woman in his lap, swiftly replacing Dieter with her soft hips and poofy dress.
“Find a girl, Dieter,” John said. “You should enjoy yourself tonight. This party is your party, after all.”
Dieter nodded. “Yeah, I should do that. You’re right, John.”
He was lying to John and to himself.
He didn’t want a girl. He wanted John tonight.
Maybe beggars can’t be choosers, and Dieter didn’t often beg. It was just that he’d expected something when John called him earlier. He thought that John wanted to come over because he wanted Dieter, not a spot to host the biggest rager Hollywood had seen all year.
Dieter stumbled away, heading out to the front patio with a cigarette between his teeth. He puffed and inhaled, breathing in the bite of nicotine and immediately feeling more awake, more lucid.
He loved cigarettes at parties. They helped him have a second wind, waking him up from the haze of drugs and alcohol. He needed fresh air, though, and the front patio was less jam-packed with people than the inside of his home was.
Partygoers were still arriving, walking past Dieter and into his home as if they owned the place. The door was revolving—people came in, people came out.
A young actress burst through the door to puke in his front shrubs before racing back indoors to continue the festivities.
A pair of Hollywood hopefuls entered the home hand-in-hand,
sober and bright-eyed, so unaware that Hollywood would snap them apart if they ever got a role in anything.
Agents weren’t a fan of established couples. Neither were production companies.
They liked couples who drew headlines and excitement. So they would break up couples on purpose, shred them into tiny little pieces, and take away their happiness forever.
Dieter knew how it went, which is why he never messed around with dating.
Their romance would end in disaster.
Dieter was smarter than them.
He took one last drag of his cigarette before putting it out on the railing of his front porch. As he did so, he noticed two girls walking down the road. One with dark hair, the other with light brown hair.
They walked hand-in-hand also, just like the couple that had entered his home before them.
The dark-haired one caught his eye and grabbed his attention immediately.
Much to his surprise, his first instinct wasn’t to ask her if she wanted to have sex with him. He wanted to ask her if she was okay.
She looked nervous as the pair of them approached his driveway, the woman with light brown hair murmuring reassurances to her.
“Nancy,” the dark-haired woman said. “This looks like a lot. I’m not sure if I’m comfortable—”
“It’ll be fun. I promise,” the other one, Nancy, said insistently. She hung on the dark-haired woman’s arm, pleading with her. “I just need to find Alice, and then you’ll feel more comfortable. She knows a ton of people here.”
“It’s so loud. Don’t you think the cops will come?” the dark-haired one said as they passed him.
She didn’t look at him, which bruised Dieter’s ego. Her brown eyes were locked on her friend instead.
Dieter knew the feeling. He opened his mouth to warn her about falling in love with her same-sex best friend.
It’ll end badly, he wanted to say. You’ll be in love forever, but you’ll always be forgotten about. You’ll live forever as the moth to her flame. Is that what you want?
Fuck, he should listen to his own advice.
Dieter laughed and lit another cigarette as the two women entered his home without saying hello to him.
The door opening let out the raucous sound of the party, which made Dieter’s head throb and pulse with the start of a headache.
He needed another drink ASAP.
“And? We’re in Hollywood. The cops know about these things. They wouldn’t dare mess with the stars. I mean, come on. This is Dieter Bravo’s house, after all,” Nancy said.
“Hm,” the dark-haired one said. Her voice still sounded wary, but she trusted her friend. “I hope you’re right.”
“We’ll get some drinks. You’ll feel better before you know it,” Nancy promised.
-----
Bee
Bee didn’t feel better with drinks in her. She felt dizzy and too hot. Her skin was crawling with the feeling of stuffiness in the crowded home. The lights were low, filled with the haze of smoke from all of the smokers.
She kept returning to the kitchen counter to pick up shot glasses of liquor, hoping that continuing to drink would make her feel more at peace and less like an outsider.
A couple of men approached her, but she quickly shooed them away and scurried back to Nancy’s side.
It was with Nancy that she felt safe, even though she didn’t really like Alice or her crowd very much.
Alice was stunning. She was blonde, with big curls and bright blue eyes. She was thin, too, with an angular face that made Bee envious and a body that turned heads on a swivel.
With Alice, Nancy, and Bee were right in the thick of things at the party. Though Bee didn’t recognize them, there were plenty of lower-level Hollywood stars gathered around where they sat on a set
of sofas.
Nancy flitted between the laps of men and Bee’s own lap.
Every time she got bored with a prospective catch, she’d return to Bee. Bee would wrap her arms around Nancy’s waist and nuzzle her shoulder with her chin, breathing in the smell of sultry smoke that mixed with Nancy’s fruity shampoo.
How could she have fun and give into her inhibitions at a party without giving into Nancy?
Especially with Nancy practically throwing herself at her. It just wasn’t fair.
Bee always stopped herself before she got too handsy, though. She didn’t want Nancy or anyone else to get too suspicious. Sure, there were other same-sex couples scattered around the Hollywood home.
Men kissed men, and women kissed women, but they were usually tucked away in the corners of the home as Bee maneuvered it.
The straight debauchery, on the other hand, was front and center for everyone’s enjoyment.
Bee never fancied herself as a voyeur, but she couldn’t keep her eyes away from John Hughes as he playfully spanked an acting school girl who had stripped down to her white slip at some point. A crowd formed around them, hooting and cheering.
There was one man Bee noticed over in that corner of the living room who didn’t look pleased to watch the display. Bee immediately recognized him as the owner of the home, Dieter Bravo.
He was famous on the Silver Screen. Devilishly handsome and horribly promiscuous—he was Hollywood’s darling.
He’d thrown this party, though. Why was he so ticked off that it was getting rowdy?
With all this alcohol and all of these women, wasn’t that the goal?
Bee didn’t strike Dieter as the type of man who enjoyed quiet evenings at home with talk radio on in the background and a mug of hot tea to warm his hand. He was whiskey and wine, cigarettes and ash, and women.
Plenty of women. Women at his disposal.
An entire acting school of women inside his living room.
This party fit him perfectly. It was exactly his style.
Then why was he so upset?
In her drunken haze, Bee almost wanted to get up and walk across the room to ask him herself. She pushed herself up from the armchair she sat in, only to be pushed back down by the weight of Nancy.
Nancy sat in her lap, and Bee wrapped her arms around her, pulling her close. She was careful not to spill the drink that Nancy clung in her hand by moving her too much.
“I really don’t like Jimmy,” Nancy whined. “But he keeps talking to me, and he’s so boring. The only thing is, I think he might be able to help me get more auditions. Should I spend more time with him?”
“It’s up to you, Nance,” Bee said. “Do you want to get more auditions?”
Nancy giggled. “Yeah, of course.”
She hiccupped, and Bee rubbed her back between her shoulder blades. Nancy sighed and leaned into Bee’s touch.
“You’re going to be a star, Bee,” Nancy said. “We’ll both be stars. I’m okay with fucking my way to the top if we have to. Anything to make sure that both of us will make it. I’ll do anything.”
Bee’s heart sank. She wasn’t sure she liked hearing those words from Nancy. Well, half of it she was more than fine with. Bee wanted to be a star. She wanted to make it in Hollywood.
Sure, she knew that there was no future where she could proudly kiss Nancy in front of the world, but there were plenty of Hollywood stars who were gay behind the scenes. There were probably a dozen or more of them in Dieter Bravo’s house at this very moment.
Nancy wrestled her way out of Bee’s arms and stood.
“I want another drink,” she said. Nancy reached out and grabbed Bee’s hand. “Come with me, let’s go get another one.”
Nancy hadn’t finished the one she’d been drinking, but Bee agreed—anything to stay near her.
“We’re going to get another drink,” Nancy told Alice.
Alice was bent over at the waist. Her face neared a side table where she snorted up some white powder neatly arranged in a line. Nancy waited for Alice to finish and cleared her throat.
Bee watched on awkwardly and fussed with her skirt. There was a wrinkle where the weight of Nancy had been.
“We’re going to get another drink,” Nancy repeated when Alice sat up straight. Her eyes were wide, her lids fluttered, and she looked dazed.
“Okay,” Alice said with a smile.
“What was that anyway?” Bee asked Nancy as the two of them walked toward the kitchen.
“I’m not sure,” Nancy shrugged. “Alice knows what she’s doing. She’s always at these parties. I think it’s how she stays so skinny.”
Bee gulped. That feeling of envy was back, sitting like a rock on her chest.
“You think so?” she asked. It looked scary.
Drinking was one thing for Bee. She knew she wasn’t really supposed to do it. Drinking wasn’t becoming of a young woman like her, especially not in copious amounts. If she wanted to be a star, no one could ever know about any habits of hers. Even the biggest stars didn’t really let on that they smoked.
Men smoked cigarettes, not women.
Well, some women did. But only if they were really glamorous.
Nancy dragged Bee toward the kitchen by her hand.
Bee’s hand felt sweaty in Nancy’s grasp. They held hands all the time, but the fuzzy feeling of alcohol made the butterflies in her stomach flap their wings like they were feral. Her heart was pounding. Her head was a mess.
“Whiskey or vodka?” Nancy asked as they approached the counter.
“Vodka,” Bee answered.
Nancy grinned. “I don’t know why I even asked. I know you so well.”
You do, Bee wanted to say. You know me better than anyone.
Nancy downed the rest of her existing drink and filled her glass with more whiskey.
Then, tugging Bee by her hand, she guided them through the crowd of people back toward Alice and her group on the couches.
But, of course, their seat had been taken. With this many people, Bee knew better than to have not asked someone to watch it for them, but she’d forgotten.
Now, she and Nancy would have to stand back in the shadows in one of the only places in the living room that wasn’t already occupied by dancing bodies and heads thrown back in laughter.
“This isn’t so bad,” Nancy said once they’d settled into their dark corner. “I needed a break from the men anyway.”
She set her glass of whiskey down on a bookshelf and took Bee’s glass from her as well.
“There,” Nancy said. “Let’s dance.”
Nancy wrapped her arms around Bee’s neck and swayed to the music. Bee could hardly hear the beat or the rhythm over the sounds of people yelling and laughing and telling ridiculous stories, but it didn’t matter.
Her hands found Nancy’s hips, and Nancy melted into her.
“You’re so beautiful,” Nancy said. “I’ve always thought you were so pretty.”
Bee stiffened. Her hands went rigid on Nancy’s waist. Was she just saying that because she was drunk? Did she mean it in a friendly way or in a different way?
Oh, there were too many questions.
She just couldn’t take it anymore. Bee had to know the truth. She just didn’t have the words to ask her.
She wasn’t brave enough to do this.
Bee reached out and grabbed her vodka drink, and slammed it down. Liquid courage burned its way down her throat, bringing stinging tears to her eyes.
Then, Bee kissed Nancy like she’d always wanted to. Her lips fit perfectly against Nancy’s, and her hands moved from Nancy’s waist to find her perfect brown curls.
Her hair was so soft, like nothing she’d ever felt before. When she twisted her fingers in her hair to pull her closer, it felt like grabbing a handful of silk ribbons.
Nancy tasted of whiskey and floral perfume.
Bee wanted her so badly it hurt, and she kissed her like her life depended on it.
There was no time to consider if this changed things between them. They were roommates, but before that, they’d been the closest friends.
This was just alcohol and adrenaline. Not feelings. Right?
Nancy sighed into the kiss, breathing gentle acknowledgment back to her.
So, she wasn’t imagining it. Nancy wasn’t just saying things to her because they were friends.
Bee had won. She’d gotten the girl. She’d done it. She’d been brave enough.
When Nancy pulled back, Bee had the feeling that they were being watched. There were a hundred people packed into the tight space, and the lights were dim, but someone’s gaze bore holes into Bee’s skin.
There was only one person in the crowded room whose eyes were locked on them as Nancy backed Bee against the wall, holding the back of her head.
Just before Nancy kissed her again, Bee locked eyes with Dieter Bravo himself.
“Hey, Nanc,” Alice said just before they kissed for a second time. “I have to use the bathroom. Will you come with me to find it?”
Nancy turned around quickly and addressed her acting class friend as if nothing ever happened between them. Her hands left Bee’s body like they’d never ever been there in the first place, igniting every nerve in her body like electric shock.
Jealousy burned through Bee like liquor.
Alice. So pretty and so sweet and so perfect.
If Nancy was gay, what was stopping her from choosing Alice over her?
She just did, right now. Would Nancy kiss Alice in the bathroom? Would she change her mind?
“Be right back,” Nancy said. Then, Nancy went to find the bathroom with the girl from her acting class, leaving Bee alone in the corner with Nancy’s forgotten glass of whiskey and bruised lips.
She stared off in the direction Nancy left in, willing her to come back, playing the moment their lips touched over and over. It was a moment she’d never forget. There was no way.
“I saw that,” Dieter said, sliding against the wall next to her. His shoulder accidentally bumped against the bookcase, rattling its contents.
Bee gasped and swung around. Not even the sweet numbness of alcohol could stop the fear of having been caught kissing her best friend by none other than Dieter Bravo himself.
“Don’t worry,” he said. His words slid together like his lips had lost their feeling. Bee was familiar with how that felt. “I have one of those too.”
Bee looked at him, really looked at him. He was so tall and handsome as hell.
How could he be in the same situation as her? He was a lady killer. Everyone knew that.
“But,” Bee said stupidly. “You have sex with women.”
Dieter laughed, his eyes crinkling at the corners. “Of course I do. I have sex with a lot of women.”
“Oh,” Bee said. “Yeah, of course you do.”
She wasn’t sure how she felt about his admission. It made her feel dizzy and a little bit winded, but she’d also just kissed her best friend. Her wires were all crossed.
“Do you want this?” Bee asked, unsure of what else to say. “I don’t drink whiskey.”
“That’s your friend’s drink,” Dieter pointed out. “You’re really going to give it away?”
“Oh,” Bee said. She felt dumb. She’d just said ‘Oh’ twice in a row. Why did this man make her speechless? “Yeah, I guess you’re right.”
“So, how long?” Dieter asked.
“How long what?”
“How long have you been in love with your best friend?” Dieter pressed. “It’s been a while for me, too. Probably five years.”
“I’m not sure,” Bee said honestly.
She couldn’t remember when she’d begun to fall for Nancy. There wasn’t a day that it started. There were always days where she looked at Nancy and loved her because who couldn’t love Nancy? When that love had changed to something more, Bee couldn’t say.
“That’s the best kind of love,” Dieter said. “The type where you aren’t sure where it ends and where it begins. You just know that it’s there, and you’ll always have it.”
Bee took a sip of Nancy’s whiskey instead of responding. His words had hit too close to home. Bee sputtered and coughed. Whiskey was awful.
“Don’t do that,” Dieter scolded. He eased the glass out of Bee’s hand, warm fingertips brushing against her skin. “You shouldn’t mix dark liquor and light.”
“How do you know that?” Bee asked.
This was the first time she had heard of such a thing. She’d only known that she liked vodka more than she liked whiskey. Whiskey smelled like shoe polish, but Nancy seemed to have no trouble drinking it. Alice drank it, too.
But both of them were cool. They were the type of women who could get away with smoking cigarettes.
“I’m an alcoholic,” Dieter said nonchalantly, as if he was stating where he was from.
Bee laughed out of shock.
“I’m sorry,” she said immediately. Her eyes widened out of horror at her own loose lips. “I’m drunk.”
“That’s an interesting name,” Dieter said. “I’m Dieter.”
“No, my name isn’t drunk,” Bee said, confused. “My name is Bee.”
“Bee,” Dieter grinned, and it sent Bee’s heart rate soaring. Her pulse pounded in her ears like it only did when she was thinking about Nancy. “I like that name.”
“Oh, Bee,” Alice said suddenly from behind her. She quickly wound herself around Dieter, planting a kiss on his cheek as if she belonged in his arms.
Dieter grabbed onto her, but Bee wasn’t sure if he wanted to be touching her or if he grabbed her because Alice had knocked him off balance.
Her lipstick left red marks on Dieter’s cheekbone.
Dieter handed Nancy’s whiskey glass back to Bee. She held it eagerly, so excited to see Nancy again that she hardly cared about Alice’s posturing.
“I see you’ve met Dieter,” Alice said protectively. “Dieter and I might be starring in a movie together very soon.”
“Maybe,” Dieter said. “We’ll have to see.”
“That’s great,” Bee said. She didn’t care. There was something more important on her mind.
She looked around, but Nancy was nowhere in sight. Had Alice left her in the bathroom? There were so many strange men around. It wasn’t safe for her to be alone.
“Where’s Nancy?” Bee asked, panicked.
“She found a gent on the way back from the toilet,” Alice laughed. “I think they took a detour into one of the guest rooms if you know what I mean.”
Alice winked at her, and it was the last thing that Bee remembered except for the smash of the glass as she dropped Nancy’s drink to the floor.

My basic review for kung fu panda 4 (some spoilers ahead)
Comedy was great, made me laugh many times. There are some points where it does kinda feel like older characters were flanderized, but it wasn’t too big of a problem. The furious five not being back is okay, but I hope they do play a prominent role in the possible next one. One issue was the pacing. There could have been some more slower scenes to let the audience rest I think. Some more emotional scenes would have been nice. There was a lot of missed opportunities in this. Shen and Kai do not talk at all for the duration they’re in the movie, which sucks tbh especially for shen. You mean to tell me they couldn’t have even one moment where Shen stops to tell Po he’s sorry for what he did to his people? Tai Lung’s arc in the movie was okay but I feel like they could have done more with him. The dynamic between Po and Zhen feels like it could have been done a bit better but maybe I just need to watch the movie again. Now onto chameleon. I get that they didn’t want to make her redeemable but there was some points about her that I feel they missed out on expanding. She tells Po she was casted aside by every kung fu master she ever met for her size. I feel like they could have done something by having Po tell her that she would have been gladly accepted and embraced by the Jade Palace (they accepted an insect ffs). Also with chameleon, I feel like they missed out on Zhen calling her out on what she’s doing. Something like “I can’t believe I ever looked up to you! I should have seen how terrible you were before, but I was blinded by the fact that you took me in! I saw you as family and did everything you asked for, only because I saw you as the one good thing that ever happened to me! But now I can see that there’s no goodness inside you at all!” I know, it’s mushy, but idk maybe it would have been a good line. All in all, fun movie, could have had more emphasis on the emotion.

Oderbruch
Tumblr media
As many people, I too get new TV recs from my Tumblr Dash (among other places), so i watched "Oderbruch".
Find my thoughts and potential Spoilers under the cut!
First of all: my overall conclusion is that I really liked the show. It didn't captivate me as much as, say, the first season of Dark, but it was an entertaining February watch for me.
I also went into the show completely unspoilered, I didn't know anything besides the mystery crime genre and who the three lead actors were and I think, for me, that was a good thing.
So, if you enjoy mystery-crime as a genre, liked shows like Dark, with some supernatural elements and intergenerational conflicts, I'd recommend that you watch the show first and without spoilers.
For everyone who is ready to be spoilered, I made lists of things I liked, didn't like, what I found ambiguous, things that surprised me etc.:
I liked:
The vampire rework. I'm not an expert on these, but I like that the vampires age when they don't consume blood (or only animal blood). Also you can't turn anyone, you have to be born a vampire.
The main plottwist that our protagonist is a vampire too. I didn't see this coming.
How they set this in eastern German no man's land.
That the series started with a bang, with not just one dead body but with a biiiiiiig pile. A mount. Bring it on!
Many connections the characters had. It's very villiage-y. I liked many of the intergenerational conflicts as well.
The ensemble cast. I knew some faces from Tatort, Polizeiruf, Das Boot, Dark and other German TV productions.
I liked that Maggie and Roland were past lovers and recent friends with history. Roland was helping an old friend with whom he shared a lot(!) - but he is portrayed as honest and faithful and never questions his loyalty to his wife and kids. Romantic relationships are not the main focus and not needed between the main characters.
All of the Chekov's X turned out to be relevant to the plot. Give us a close-up and we'll be sure to look out for: mom's flask, numerous weapons, even glass shards and side characters.
The voice change of "Adrian". Omfg, well played!
I didn't like:
The vampire "ethics". Maybe because I thought about this not so long ago... but: were there any? What message were they trying to bring across?? Is this gonna turn out as a questionable pledge for naturalistic morals (aka the Right is with the Strong)?
Kai says about the leeches: "nobody likes them, though they're good for the eco-system"... considering what these vampires do and to whom... are we supposed to think this about them as well? That's it's good that they feed on people who won't be missed? That it's justified how they treat the kids in the school?
Also, the whole shaky wolves-and-sheep-analogy: "the strong eat the week. It's simply our nature. You can't fight against this." I know it's mostly Stoian... but still. I guess, my final verdict on this depends on season two.
That Maggie didn't thoroughly finish Stoian off. I mean... come on! Cut him in half with your sword, as you did with the other one ffs!
The vampires' focus on finding a female to breeeeeeeed. WTF happened to the female vampires? How long haven't they been around that these guys write very old poems about it in their "code"? Is there really such an overall lack of vampire? Doesn't it seem kind of a bold assumption by Maggie's mom that they are supposed to be "the last two"?
Ambiguous:
With regards to the last point I made: maybe this is the line where you have to suspend disbelief. LeavIng some of these Story bits unexplained and not everything has to be logical, cause it's mystery... it's up to you if that's a premise you'll feel satisfied with and ethical implications you know what to make of.
The show is mostly SHOW and very, very little tell. That means: characters are harder to get because often they will just stare, maybe grind their teeth, frown, etc. That leaves room for interpretation but also for uncertainty and some of the characters thoughts and motives. Depends on you, if it's something you like (I did).
My overall recommendation still stands though: watch it, but be prepared.
Alright, so long for this one, people!

Do you have any ninjago fic recs? If you read ff ofc!
IDK why you chose ME out of all ppl to rec u fics, cuz i'm super new to the fandom. like super.
i mostly read gen fics, so here are some of my favorites (and I'm sure you've already read all of these!)
(Sorry about the late answer I keep forgetting a lot of stuff 💀)
Perfect Gardens
- After March of the Oni, Lloyd wakes up as a child with no memories past Child's Play.
(something about regression/time-travel fics always hit a big part of me, especially if it's someone like Lloyd)
The Grass is Always Greener Series
- Show Lloyd gets swapped with Movie Lloyd in a dire situation after Garmadon wishes on the Mega-Weapon for his son's safety.
(Perfect. I'm in love with the series. I keep rereading it)
The Ninja Legacy Whip
- Basically the events of the show happening in the movie, along with some tweaks and changes.
(I am so in love with the world-building, and the writing is really mesmerizing.)
she was my sister before she was your lover
- do you want to see Kai go apeshit? Kai finally snapping and expressing his grief over Nya's death? this is it. this is the fic.
Same People, But Not Really
- In which Show Kai gets abducted by Garmadon and said evil warlord wishes him into the Movie Verse.
Raising Hell
- Kai, Nya, and Lloyd's developing relationship throughout canon.
(I love canon compliant fics. Especially about Lloyd and his building relationship with Kai and Nya.)
Enter the Ninjaverse
- The Time Twins have returned, and took away Lloyd's elemental powers. He follows the twins into various alternate universes, and meets alternate versions of himself as well.
(It's pretty long, but it's worth it!)

“(don’t reblog!) i found more light novel translations so here are some details i’m stealing and keeping forever in my heart:
- iwaizumi spent an entire day prompting a film crew to edit out things that would make oikawa look like an idiot during a tv interview and somewhat succeeded. somewhat. - when said film crew arrived, seijoh’s players were nervous about being/not being on tv... iwaizumi was concerned about oikawa coming across as a petty asshole on regional tv. - during nekoma’s journey to miyagi on the shinkansen, kuroo was relieved it was a (bank?) holiday because it meant their team wouldn’t attract angry stares from tired office people commuting on the same train bdjhvfvb self-conscious kuroo is still real after all these years my guys. - not one of my muses but kai is a giant nerd who knows every model of shinkansen and takes pictures of them and i need the world to know that. - TRAINING CAMP YAMAGUCHI ASKED HINATA AND LEV IF HE COULD JOIN THEIR SERVING PRACTICE AND HE WAS SO NERVOUS ABOUT IT BLESS HIS HEART I WAS RIGHT HE DID ASK OTHER PLAYERS TO PRACTICE WITH HIM. - asahi and tanaka joined them and kuroo watched from the sidelines and picked up on the fact that asahi and yamaguchi were pracising jump serves and how it was more impressive than tanaka’s standing serves  👀 - kuroo called yamaguchi “skinny guy” i’m vbdjfhvbdhfv - wait asahi and yamaguchi are actually hanging out and being serve practice buddies and asahi asks him if he’s okay when he looks worried about tsukishima, my heart  🥺 - okay yamaguchi is full on fanboying over asahi’s powerful serves and honestly, mood. - oh no he’s also feeling bad because asahi being awesome reminds him that he still sucks. - HOLD NOW UP SUGA COMES UP TO YAMAGUCHI AND APOLOGISES FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO HELP HIM?? - “you even had to go to shimada senpai yourself, looks like we have been too dependent on your will to learn.” I’M LOSING MY FUCKING MIND KARASUNO REALLY SAID ‘welp we can’t help you but it looks lke you’ve got it so we’ll leave you to it” WHAT? - suga actively acknowledged that no one on karasuno could help yamaguchi do what he wanted to do and encouraged him i’m weeping. - suga best senpai CONFIRMED. - wow yachi really flat out told yamaguchi “you’re WAY taller than i thought and i didn’t realise it until now” BRUTAL and now he feels bad.  - and now yachi feels bad for making him feel bad and he feels bad for making her feel bad about making him feel bad and it’s turning into an apology contest and pURE CHAOS. “I’M A WORTHLESS WORM” YACHI NO. - asahi is getting second-hand anxiety just from watching them from afar god bless. - during the watermelon break tsukishima disappears and yamaguchi starts getting anxious and feeling the need to talk to someone but his social anxiety makes him feel like he can’t join the second years and third years in their conversation even though they’re right next to him, thanks light novel i’m highlighting that three times over.  - omg he flat out left to have lunch on his own because he was too overwhelmed.  - he’s practiced his serves so much, his hands actually got stronger and rougher. - yamaguchi is perfectly aware of when he pisses off tsukishima vbdhfvb.  - “Tsukishima is staring at me, his face clearly saying I’m annoying and irritating. He’s doing all these to chase me away, in order to run away from me, run away from Hinata, run away from volleyball, and run away from himself.” so yamaguchi can read tsukishima’s confirmed, thanks i didn’t need my feels anyway. - ooooh fun bit of tokyo training camp trivia: the captains and vice-captains have a kind of meeting room just for them! - akaashi speaks on fukurodani’s behalf instead of bokuto because bokuto can’t be bothered vfbjdhvbh ffs bokuto - bokuto plays cards with ubunaga’s captain at every camp apparently. - ubunaga’s captain already left so now bokuto is trying to convince akaashi, kuroo, kai, daichi and suga to play with him. akaashi is trying to give them an out... - ... but of course kuroo wants to play. - and suga flat out volunteers daichi what a menace i love him. - akaashi is very tired. - omg kai is 100 times more of a conman than kuroo when it comes to card games and kuroo is finding it hilarious.  - for exactly three seconds, daichi convinced himself that kuroo could read minds. - akaashi didn’t want to lose the second game because the loser would have to massage bokuto so he emotionally blackmailed kai into losing aND IT WORKED. - and now kai is purposefully making it painful for bokuto and everyone is scared of him. - kai is officially haikyuu’s best character y’all. - suga and kai left and akaashi fell asleep and daichi/kuroo/bokuto continued playing until morning and hinata found them, bless.  - iwaizumi @ oikawa “ “Your very existence is the root of our sadness.” VBJHBVJF - there is no difference of experience, skill and stamina between shiratorizawa and the college teams they practice against, no wonder seijoh never won against them hot damn. - USHIJIMA FORGETS TO EAT WHEN THERE’S A GAME COMING UP AND HE’S TOO ABSORBED IN VOLLEYBALL WHAT. - oh no that’s twice already that yamaguchi works himself past exhaustion and feels unwell my heart - suga is looking after him  🥺 - bokuto is forcing his teammates and nekoma into a game of dodgeball befoe the other teams of the shinzen camp get there and it’s glorious. the nekoma players are just “maybe he’s right we can learn something about volleyball from dodgeball.......” but the fukurodani players are 100% done already.  - kuroo “motivates” the fukurodani gang by taunting them hvbdjhvb what a champ. - komi instinctively receives, akaashi instinctively sets, bokuto instinctively spikes, great this is now volleydodgeball. - yaku wants to use lev as a human shield but lev refuses because it hurts but kuroo forces him and tells him he expects a lot from the future ace so of course lev willingly becomes a human shield, someone save this child from his demon senpais. - yamaguchi IMMEDIATELY catches on michimiya’s crush on daichi and forcibly drags away hinata and kageyama who are very loudly commenting on the whole charm gifting thing, best kouhai ever. - my boy konoha is FINALLY making an appearance and getting teased by saru when he goes along with one of bokuto’s antics.  - oh no bokuto misunderstood something akaashi said, and akaashi turns to his senpai for help, BUT NOW EVERYONE MISUNDERSTANDS HIM - “ Akaashi is shaken by the change in attitude of his trusted third years. “ thsi is the single most heartbreaking sentence i’ve read in any haikyuu content. - everything is chaos and now konoha wants to pick a fight with akaashi’s grandmother, please don’t ask. - TSUKISHIMA IS AFRAID OF HEIGHTS, I REPEAT, TSUKISHIMA IS AFRAID OF HEIGHTS. - yes this is just a commentary now not just my muses anymore i’m sorry but not sorry. - there is a whole thing about bokuto struggling to name his feelings and comparing them to a balloon he’s trying to hold back with his hands but that slips away and floats to the ceiling and disappears before he can catch it, and i’ll be thinking about this all night. - spring tournament time, bokuto buys the “way of the ace” t-shirt every year because he’s scared of outgrowing it. - bokuto is kidnapping tsukishima into his shopping spree and someone from fukurodani is telling him “it’s okay to ignore bokuto you know” and i’m deciding it’s konoha. - “ “Bokuto, don’t mess with other school’s first year.” “I get it though, Tsukishima is the type you just want to mess with, right?” “True, he’s like Akaashi in some way.” “Eh?” “Kidding, kidding. Don’t mind it.” “I do mind.” “ I’M WHEEZING AKAASHI’S SENPAIS ARE THE WORST. - oh no kuroo has joined the fray and tsukishima is sandwiched between him and bokuto and he’s contemplating his entire existence in agonising distress. - oh shit kenma, akaashi and tsukishima gave bokuto a judging glare and they BROKE HIM, those three apparently have a lot of power together. - okay the light novel says the miya twins at the very least still have their mom in addition to their grandmother *mumbles mumbles my poor headcanons* - atsumu can smell mochi from very far away but not osamu, i was not expecting this and therefore declare the era of “atsumu has a very astute sense of smell”. - the twins helped some old people pound rice to make mochi, and now they’re shaping them, and osamu is making some very nice ones with a bunch of little girls who came to watch, whiel atsumu makes mochi monsters with a bunch of little boys who came to watch, and the girls sympathise with osamu having a brother like atsumu, i’mvbfjvhbh. - the twins making mochi with children is actually really wholesome stop it. - their mochi adventure made them forget that they initially went out to distribute new year’s cards and their mom is Not Happy about it. - Mama Miya sounds like a tough and cool lady. - ATSUMU NEVER STUDIES AND SLEEPS IN CLASS. - he flunked his midterms and was only allowed to compete in volleyball because aran convinced the teachers and apologised on his behalf, my god atsumu is a disaster why does anyone put up with him ever. - atsumu flat out admitted he sometimes puts on a “good boy face” so aran will let him off the hook when he gets scolded. - woah atsumu really doesn’t give a shit about school, good for him good for him. - iwaizumi, matsukawa and hanamaki went on an onsen trip during winter break after losing to karasuno I HAVE NO WORDS. - iwaizumi stays in saunas longer than any normal human being. - iwaizumi and matsukawa are having an eating contest and hanamaki is so confused and the iwaizumi/mattsun friendship is filling me with so much dumb joy. - aaaaand just as i was wondering where on earth oikawa was during this little trip, iwaizumi drops a “… If only he had come.” IWAIZUMI HAJIME SIR. -  “If you say ‘him’ there’s no one but him.” okay then i guess hanamaki and matsukawa are confirming that iwaoi is canon. - the schweiden adlers won four consecutive games against the tachibana red falcons (aran’s team).  - omg akana has to interview ushijima and kuroo told him she was a very promising sports journalist and ushijima is accidentally super nice and encouraging to her i’m crying. - akane describes ushijima’s way of answering questions as “clear and strong, with no hesitations” just like his playstyle and this will now live rent free in my head. - ushijima says playing with his team in shiraorizawa enriched his life and that the players there weren’t just strong  🥺

trauma dump so my dad and i work in the same company right. he sits about twenty feet away from me (yeah it's fantastic i don't wanna jump out the window somtimes at all) but anyways today he comes over to my desk and in english and loud enough that my colleagues could hear he's like "your shower is clogged you need to fix it!" and a. my sisters and i have been telling him this for weeks so the fact that he is acting like he didn't know shows how little he actually listens to us and b. he only knows now bc since her bathroom is being painted my mother took a shower in ours and inconveniences only matter when it's inconveniences for them and c. he could have said this QUIETLY or in URDU and it would be fine but no apparently asking for respect in the workspace is too much to ask for so i told him "can you be a little less condescending about it?" and he got even more peeved and said he wasn't being condescending and was just telling me to clean out the clog (something i didn't even realize i could do like i didn't know i could lift the thing in the shower bc it looks screwed on and he's never told me this before) so i was like "okay whatever" and he walked away and i KNOW at least one of my colleagues overheard bc he joked something like "that sounded serious" so um. and yesterday my mom randomly got pissed at my sister and told me to stop teaching her to blame everything on my mother and i didn't wanna fight so i just said kay and tried to keep the mood positive with my mother because who am i if i'm not playing emotional support eldest daughter all the time and my dad heard the sound of conflict and went into the basement like the bystander and enabler he is!! anyways i have started another keigo fic that will most likely flop as well but idc because i'm having fun writing for him but i'm not having fun at home and i still lack the energy to find a therapist especially bc i know i'd have to pay for it out of pocket and i'd hear it from my parents (SEPARATELY ffs) that they don't think i need therapy but my sister has had trichotillomania for years and they're only now kinda seriously registering her into therapy after being told my several different doctors to do that because she has a fucking ANXIOUS TICK and they just don't see the correlation they don't see why she would have that and my mom keeps calling her crazy as though the woman doesn't have a barrage of mental health issues that she just refuses to address she has a therapist that she chooses not to talk to she takes depression pills she has meltdowns but it's oooover the second anyone else feels an emotion and now (and always) i'm being told that i'm teaching my sister to hate her and disobey her like BABE!!!! you are UNLIKEABLE and there is a reason no one in the house wants to spend time with you!!!! i'm already in this one stupid class that my parents pushed me into that i don't wanna get into but it's so annoying bc it takes up at least two hours aside from my 7:30 to 5 pm shift which if i go into office means i have to catch a 6 am train and be back at like 6:30 pm so i always push myself to stay up as late as i can to get some alone time where i can relax and then i wake up miserable and i push goals for myself to eat healthier and exercise bc i've gained weight even though everyone says i look like i don't eat (i don't) my mom will just randomly make a comment like "i can see your stomach poking out" or some SHIT like that and she's constantly trying to get me to drink her goddamn disgusting homemade mint water that will make my skin clearer and brighter but i like my brown skin and i'm not SELF HATING like some people! and she keeps bugging me to text the lady from this matchmaking service she enrolled me into but i do not WANT to because none of those men will like me because i god forbid put in my bio that i have ideals that i will not budge from and that i am a feminist and i need someone who will respect that i'm allowed to have as much freedom as them and desi men can't stomach that shit so. and my grandma uncle and his two kids are visiting this
(hit the character block limit) weekend and i have to make it into a fun game for my sister to always be around him and interact with everyone bc if me or her try to refill our social batteries in our rooms or interact with EACH OTHER instead of everyone else my mother will think it's the equivalent of stripping naked in front of everyone despite how she embarrasses us every fucking CHANCE she gets especially around her family and my grandma is back to living with us for at least a few months after this which means she'll sleep in my bed which means she'll use my pillows and take up half the bed and every time this happens my CHRONIC BACK PAIN FORGOT ABOUT THAT acts up more than usual so i'm considering sleeping downstairs but i tend to get anxious when i do that i'm just hoping it doesn't happen this time bc i'd rather be depressed as shit instead of anxious and anxiety scares me so bad i get into my own head so easily and i hate taking meds apparently i need vitamin d pills for the rest of my life and taking them makes me feel sick and i don't drink water no matter how hard i try bc the more i drink the more sick i feel and sometimes i go days without drinking water and sometimes i don't eat and sometimes i'm starving but after a single bite i'm full and somehow i'm still gaining weight and i can't expect anyone to care about this constantly because i'm no one's goddamn concern or burden anyways today i'm feeling really introspective and i want to sit with my feelings for a bit but i can't because once i get home (in the train right now) i have to have a one on one meeting with my course instructor and i miss acting but at the same time every time i think of it i think of that horrible incident a few months ago where i agreed to be in the ensemble of wizard of oz and the experience was so bad and the people were so awful and i was the only woc there and they treated me like dirt under their shoe and every time we had a show to put on i felt ill from how miserable i was and now i'm scared all my acting experiences will all be like this and i'm so tired i want to be held and comforted and i want someone to allow me to cry without telling me to cheer up and i want to stop being so nervous every time i meet someone new and i want my skin to be clearer and i want to be healthier and i want my mother to stop abusing me and i want to just sleep in for a whole day and have no one bother me and i want to answer all these asks in my inbox because some are more than a year old and i feel so bad and i go back to school in the fall and i'll be working full time and i can't even say well i guess i had a good break year because i didn't i was working the whole time and i'm almost always around one parent and i want to write without my wrists feeling pain and i want everyone to leave me alone.
