I've seen a couple people shaming people for liking Harry Potter because it's 'for children' but so what? Yes, the author is terrible but that's a different argument, you shouldn't be shaming people for liking something just because you think adults have to stop liking certain shows or books not targeted for adults. It's just really rubbed me the wrong way.

Why We Shouldn’t Judge Others

We shouldn't judge, instead we should be here to act and support. Living with a disability, over the years, I have been judged and have experienced first hand how being judged can lead to assumptions that are false.

It is important to remember that we’re all different and unless you walk in another person’s shoes, no one can really know what we go through, how we feel. As a society, we make judgments based on how people look, but the more we judge others, the more we’re in fact judging ourselves.

We judge around stereotypes associated with appearance. Deeply ingrained in our culture, we don’t always stop to think. Around disability it’s much harder because we already look and present differently, with no thought to what we may deal with. But we shouldn’t judge because words can hurt.

When we acknowledge someone’s suffering, we stop ourselves from judging. Judging is rectifiable, because it is down to our perceptions and perceptions can always be changed. Judging is about the person judging.

But it is important that if you have to judge, you look at the whole picture so that you are able to make more accurate judgments. Having been written off from an early age, and for those who throughout my life have judged me, given my achievements, they couldn't have been more wrong about me.
