The Batter had seen her take one step towards the Judge. Why? After all they'd done together, to betray his purpose at the very last second- why? Why listen to someone else now?
"Don't do that. I need you to finish this."
🔪 saying it while pointing a weapon towards my muse
The witch intercepts that step in her path towards the Judge, turning partially back to face the Batter. His response to her actions doesn't provoke any one thing above another. She likes him, which makes this sad and angry. Even as he points his stained bat their way she has yet to become riled up at his audacity.
There's a cold calm to her as she stares at him, brows creasing slightly as though he was speaking another language all of a sudden.
"You said you needed me to purify the world. Are the Zones not clear? Have we not accomplished our tasks?"
"You fickle thing, did you really think there wouldn't be any consequences?" Mortem inquires. What a shame, so focused upon his purpose he did not bother to understand how her own may affect his. But she had been weighing it, Zone after Zone - secret after secret. It was an absolute shame, for such a powerful force he did no critical thinking to plan ahead. As if believing his bat and puppeteer would never fail him. The reliance was touching but ultimately foolish; either he adapted to the situation or accepted it, there was nothing else to do as literal nothing existed beyond this space.
The witch would be lying if she said she wasn't thrilled to see what he'd do now that it has come down to this.
HIS MISTAKE, OF COURSE. Leaving himself open for the hugging. Should know better by now, honestly, when it comes to her.
His hand on the console, arm away from his side, gives her an OPENING. His pause as he stands, watching her, sentimental softness resting just behind his eyes, gives her an OPPORTUNITY. What he can't work out, though, as her arms close around him and he finds himself being thoroughly hugged, is where he gave her reason to hug him.
Not that he minds. He can pretend all he likes, SCOWL at her, put on his dramatics, but where his instinct used to be to freeze or pull away, now his arms come to rest around her. Time's a funny thing. Makes idiots of everyone. Or, in his case, huggers, apparently.
"What's this for, then?" he asks. He pats her gently on the back where his hand rests. "Have I done something?"
For the OC Interview questions I wanted to be a greedy goblin and ask if you could answer all of the odd numbers for Kirino? 👉👈🥺
Emily you are always welcome to be a greedy goblin!
1. Who makes your family? How close are you to them?
Biologically the only family I’m still close to is my brother really. Though I consider all the friends I’ve made in Kamurocho my family if I’m being honest
3. What is your favorite childhood memory?
I suppose finally making food that didn’t taste awful was pretty great. Might not sound all that exciting but it was a long road to get to.
5. What is your favorite thing to do in your free time?
Probably hanging out by the pond in Koi Bride. I know that sounds like something an old person would say but the atmosphere there is nice. Plus not a lot of people go there so it’s quiet too.
7. Who do you look up to?
I wouldn’t say I look up to the guy...more like admire would be a better word. Yagami is a great detective and definitely the kind of person anyone can rely on. He’s the kind of detective I’ve always wanted to be. ...D-Don’t tell him I said that okay?
9. Are you a spiritual person? If yes, what do you practice?
Not really. That kind of stuff was never for me. Though that’s not to say I’m not respectful of people that are. You do you.
11. What is your favorite type of media?
Books hands down. I don’t mind watching TV every now and then but I’ve preferred books ever since I was a kid. I know it’s predictable but I do like true crime stuff.
13. You’re given an unlimited budget to build anything you want! What do you build and where do you build it?
What, like that Quickstarter thing Yagami told me about? Kind of a random question. Uh...made a better animal shelter for all those stray cats? I don’t know where it would go though.
15. Do you play any instruments?
I tried while I was still in school but it just wasn’t for me. I prefer singing more so than playing music.
17. What makes you laugh?
Well...I guess now that I’ve gotten to know Kaito more he can be pretty funny. Though it’s funny to see Higashi trying to get Ren’s (@morninggloryworm oc) snake out of the arcade machines when we hang out at Charles
19. What makes you sad?
Past memories I think would be the biggest thing. Stuff that happened when I was a kid...Kazuya being taken to jail...let’s just leave it at that okay?
21. Describe your ideal partner.
P-Partner? Like romantic partner? I-I don’t know...I’ve never actually...been in a relationship before. I’m not very picky. I guess...someone I can be comfortable around. Someone I can trust and just feel like I can be myself around.
23. Have you ever had a crush on someone? Do you have a crush now?
I-I don’t know what gave you that idea. That’s...not important. Next question please...
25. What have you been up to since the Mole case concluded?
I started working for the Yagami Detective Agency. I missed being a detective but there was no way in hell I’d ever go back to working at my old job. Though I don’t ask him to pay me much. The man barely makes enough as it is. As long as I’m of help and can continue doing what I love, I’m happy. I’m really glad I met these dorks
Hey guys so my current commission queue might take a liiiitttle bit longer than usual. I usually try to go them as quick as I can without sacrificing quality, but I can tell I'm starting to damage my hand again so I'm probably gonna have to start taking more frequent breaks. Everything should still be done within 2-3 weeks!
When you get this, pretty please respond with five things that make you happy! :D Then, send this to the last ten people in your notifications (anonymously). You never know who might benefit from spreading positivity :)
I need to say that Judgment is such an incredible game! It takes the typical Yakuza formula and makes it feel fresh! It still has some of the problems that have plagued the series, but I feel so deeply motivated to keep playing! Yagami is a great protagonist, the story is gripping, the gameplay is alluring, and the overalls impression it leaves is absolutely fantastic! It’s up there as one of my favorite Ryu ga Gotoku games, easily! I adore this game and I’m so happy I picked it up!
god i dont know how to phrase this but ive noticed whenever shows or companies want you to know theyre gay/trans friendly they do it in a very in your face and unnatural way. i dont mean to say bold proclamations of gender and sexuality are bad. they are infinitely better than vagueness that can lead to denial. you can just tell when scripts were written by cishets.
