Awesome fic idea that blew my own mind:

Ur the downstairs neighbor of johnshi, and you practically hear yaoi everynight. Youre stressed, overworked and grumpy and one night you just cant take it anymore. Who the hell whimpers that loud??? So you confront them. You find their door and bang your fist on it. The noises pause and you hear some mumbling before someone opens the door.

Its johnny fucking cage.

"Johnny cage???" You blink rapidly, confused. You sigh, "whatever. This kinda came to me from seeing a peace of fanart and my brain just kinda made this up so yeah

Anyway you know how sight was a very important aspect for Kenshi. Not only because of basic functions but also because he was part of the yakuza and a swordsman.

Now where am i getting let me explain. Usually in reverse!au’s people just switch out Kenshi for Johnny well i kinda was thinking that instead of Johnny losing his eyes he loses the ability to talk. Instead of Milleena stabbing his eyes out she goes for his throat/mouth and after Johnny survives and gets healed he learns that he can no longer speak and is devistated. Whats gonna happen to his career ? Can he still act ? Who is Johnny Cage if not a hotshot celebrity who loves talking about himself ?

the fact ive seen no fics yet of a johnshi no powers au where kenshi's white cane is named sento is criminal. like come ON GUYS its RIGHT THERE

Im imagining, Kenshi isn't Yakuza but he comes from a long line and he's very interested in the history, Johnny is still a celebrity. They meet somehow and become friends and Kenshi is like info dumping about this ancient sword his family had named Sento and how cool it is, how it was told to give his ancestors magic sight or whatever. Its probably in the british museum.

Then later, maybe Johnny is attacked because of how famous he is. But Kenshi protects him and well you know this part.

And Johnny of course puts it upon himself to help Kenshi, he lets him move into his house because he can renovate it quickly to be accessible. And of course he spends hours researching and finds the best white cane money can buy, detachable tips (of course he buys ALL the different cane tips as well), spring handle so it doesn't jab Kenshi in the gut, the whole works.

And of course he jokingly calls it Sento but Kenshi likes it and it sticks.

and then they kiss kiss fall in love and all that

A/N: I hope you all enjoy!!

After the experience and escaping Shang Tsung’s laboratory up, the team made it back to camp. There, they found themselves processing the absolute horrors and monstrosities that were Shang Tsung’s lab. Johnny stood in his tent, still a bit shaken up by the whole experience of it all. His gaze shifting a bit to kenshi sitting on the ground of their shared tent. Allowing himself to breathe and relax himself, even if his eyes— well eye sockets were in pain. The two males both sat in their tents, getting into their sleeping bags and taking time to process and adjust to the new atmosphere of being outside instead of being trapped in a prison cell.

Johnny slowly closed his tired eyes, allowing his breathing to become calm, his mind to be clear. He was the Johnny cage, he shouldn’t be feeling this much stress over an experience, but when the nightmares came. The memories of holding back the tarkat infected Mileena, the memory of seeing her sharp teeth, long tongue sticking out, the growls that came out of her mouth, her piercing eyes. Even worse seeing the way Kenshi’s eyes were stabbed out, the blood splatter across his face, across Mileena’s hands and face, the sound of his eyes popped out, pierced out, all he could do was watch the scene play over in his mind, knowing he could have saved him if he hadn’t fallen over, knowing that if he got up quicker he could have hold her down before she got to Kenshi, before—

Kenshi shook Johnny awake, his voice low, yet quite enough for him to hear. “Johnny, why are you yelling— better yet, why are you shaking and–“ before he could finish his sentence, all he felt was Johnny’s arms wrapped around his shoulders, pulling him into a long hug. Kenshi, was shocked. He didn’t know how to react, how to even respond to his. But what he did know was Johnny had a nightmare, and he would need comfort. “Kenshi, I’m sorry. Fuck– you’re stronger than I ever could. I mean, you’re powering through all this pain yet I’m here, having nightmares about you getting your eyes pierced out, nightmares of your screams, nightmares of–“ Kenshi covered Johnnys mouth with his hand, telling him to be quiet and to relax.

All Kenshi could do was just hold him in his arms, he let out a low sigh of disappointment yet he couldn’t just leave Johnny in this state. “If it wasn’t for me, you’d still have your eyes, you’d still be able to see, we would have escaped sooner, if only–“ “Johnny be quiet.” Kenshi abruptly interrupted him from his speech, kissing his lips to shut him up completely. Johnny didn’t expect that whatsoever, feeling himself lean forward and pull away with a small string of saliva connecting each other’s lips. “Johnny, it’s not your fault. None of it is your fault. The action is done, all we can do is move forward from this and continue our mission. I am okay now, you saved me, even after I told you to leave me..you stayed. And for that, I’m eternally grateful.”

Johnny, was flabbergasted. Hearing his words after feeling the way his lips were pressed against his, almost craving for that sensation again, craving for his words to reach him ears. He slowly seeped into kenshi’s touch, knowing how much Kenshi would have rely on these types of senses. He hummed for a moment, burying his head into the swordsman’s shoulder and closed his eyes, feeling his nightmares go away. At that same time, Kenshi held Johnny in his arms, allowing him to sleep before he even thought of going to sleep. They were both there, holding each other as they simply slept, nightmare free.
