Lovers from the past part 2
Tumblr media
GIF by whovian-on-ice
(THIS PEACOCK BOY NEEDS MORE LOVE AND I STAND BY WHAT I SAY.)
"A-Xuan, where are you off to?" Y/N's voice carried a note of concern as she observed her husband, Jin Zixuan, making preparations with his sword. The room was infused with a sense of anticipation, a tension that mirrored the unspoken words that lingered between them.
He turned to face her, a soft smile curving upon his lips as he met her gaze. "Don't worry," he reassured her, his voice a gentle caress that held the warmth of their shared history, "I'll only be gone for a few hours." With a tenderness that mirrored his words, he leaned down and pressed a kiss upon her forehead, his lips a fleeting promise of his return.  (author: we all know that's not true hehe)
Their son, Jin Ling, nestled in the embrace of his mother's arms, gazed up at his father with curious eyes. His chubby fingers reached out, brushing against Jin Zixuan's cheek as if to echo his mother's sentiments. A fond smile played on Jin Zixuan's lips as he gently rubbed his son's head, a gesture that held the weight of fatherly love and a promise to return.
"But Jin Ling's one-month celebration is today," Y/N's voice held a note of gentle pleading, her eyes a mirror to the heartache that tugged at her. "It's important for you to be there, as a father to share in this milestone for our son." Her words were woven with the threads of tradition and the longing for familial unity.
Jin Zixuan's expression softened further, a mixture of understanding and conflict dancing within his eyes. He reached out, his fingers brushing against his son's tiny hand before he gently cupped Y/N's cheek, his touch an unspoken reassurance.
"I promise, Y/N," his voice was a solemn pledge, a promise etched into the very fabric of his being, "I will be there. I will not let this moment pass without sharing it with our son." With a final lingering kiss upon her lips, he reluctantly left the embrace of their chambers, the echo of his footsteps a testament to the weight of his responsibilities.
As Jin Zixuan departed, his footsteps echoing in the corridors of his thoughts, he found himself traversing the landscape of his memories. Each step seemed to unlock a vault of moments he had shared with Y/N, fragments of happiness and laughter that had once painted their lives with vibrant hues. In the midst of uncertainty, he held onto these recollections, as if they were the fragile threads that could weave a tapestry of hope against the looming shadows of the unknown.
The scenes of their past played out before his mind's eye, he found himself transported to a moment that seemed to encapsulate the essence of their shared journey.
The air was charged with a palpable tension as Jin Zixuan and Y/N faced each other, their words held a pregnant pause with the weight of unspoken emotions. The silence was as thick as the moonlit night, a canvas upon which their inner conflicts painted themselves.
"I know you still love A-Yao," Jin Zixuan's voice held a mixture of understanding and vulnerability, a confession that seemed to bridge the gap between their hearts. "But do not blame me," he continued, his words gentle yet firm, "I am strongly against this marriage as well."
Y/N's gaze was averted, her fingers tracing patterns on her robes as if they held the answers to the complexities that enveloped them. Her voice, when it finally emerged, was a reflection of the truth that had been buried beneath layers of tradition and obligation. "It seems as though none of us wanted this marriage," she stated plainly, her words a raw acknowledgment of their shared plight, "as it was arranged by our parents."
A pang of sympathy tugged at Jin Zixuan's heart as he observed her struggle to meet his gaze. The words that followed were a testament to the strength that lay within her, a strength that was willing to accept the circumstances they had been thrust into. "I guess the best thing for us," her voice held a quiet resolution, a resolution that carried the promise of finding harmony amidst discord, "is to try to get along instead of living a life of misery."
And as the night deepened, casting its shroud over their conversation, Jin Zixuan found himself taking a step towards the door, his heart heavy with the weight of both their history and the uncertainty of their future. It was in that moment, as he began to turn away, that her voice reached his ears once more, a whisper that seemed to linger in the stillness of the room.
"But I will never love you," her words were a crystalline declaration, a truth that hung between them like a delicate thread. "A-Yao is my only love."
The echo of those words seemed to reverberate in the chambers of his heart, a reminder of the complexity of emotions that bound them together. He carried her truth with him as he stepped into the corridor, the memory of her voice an imprint upon his soul.
However, life had a way of defying expectations, and the unfolding days revealed a truth that Y/N could not have foreseen. As time drew her closer to Jin Zixuan, a shift occurred within her heart, the tides of her emotions ebbing away from the shores of her feelings for Jin Guangyao. It was a transformation that took her by surprise, a realization that brought with it a sense of guilt, for she had once promised her heart to another.
The bond that she had believed to be love began to unravel like the delicate threads of a tapestry, leaving behind a tangled mixture of confusion and understanding. The more she spent time with Jin Zixuan, the more she found her feelings for him deepening, overshadowing the emotions she had once harbored for his elder brother. It was a bittersweet revelation, a recognition that her heart was not bound by promises made in haste.
She wrestled with her own emotions, grappling with the weight of her shifting affections. Had her feelings for Jin Guangyao been nothing more than a mirage, a connection born out of shared experiences and mutual understanding? The notion tugged at her, a mixture of relief and uncertainty intertwined.
One evening, as the moon cast its soft glow upon the world outside, Y/N found herself in the presence of Jin Zixuan. The words she had longed to speak swirled within her, carried by a courage that was fueled by the truth she had come to acknowledge.
"A-Xuan," her voice held a quiet earnestness, her gaze meeting his as if searching for the answers that lay within his eyes, "I love you, and I hope you feel the same way." Her words were a vulnerable admission, a confession that bared the depths of her heart. "If you don't, that's fine," she continued, her tone a blend of acceptance and hope, "we can remain friends, and perhaps time will bring clarity to our paths."
Before she could finish her sentence, he moved closer, his presence a comforting anchor amidst the whirlwind of emotions that surrounded them. His lips met hers in a tender kiss, a kiss that spoke of unspoken emotions and a shared understanding that transcended words.
"I..." he began, his voice a soft whisper as their lips parted, the weight of his emotions mirrored in his gaze. "I like you too."
In that moment, as the moon continued its journey across the sky, Y/N felt the weight of uncertainty lift from her heart. The bond that had once tied her to Jin Guangyao had transformed, evolving into a connection that resonated with the truth of her feelings. And as they stood there, two souls on the precipice of a new chapter, they found solace in the understanding that sometimes, the heart could find its way even when promises had been broken.
As the time slipped away, the anticipation that had surrounded Jin Ling's one-month anniversary began to mix with an undercurrent of worry. The sun cast its golden hues across the landscape, painting a picturesque scene outside the gathering, yet within the heart of the celebration, there was an undeniable absence, a void that was carved by Jin Zixuan's missing presence.
Despite his absence, the celebration pressed on. The grandparents, uncles, aunts, and sect leaders had all gathered, their smiles and laughter a testament to their shared joy. Among them, Y/N stood, her eyes occasionally flickering towards the entrance as if hoping to catch a glimpse of her husband's arrival.
"A-Y/N," the voice of Madam Jin cut through the hum of conversation, drawing Y/N's attention. She turned to face her mother-in-law, her lips curving into a respectful smile as she prepared to greet her.
But Madam Jin's words carried a note of understanding, a hint of sympathy that resonated with Y/N's own unspoken thoughts. "It's Jin Ling's one-month anniversary," she continued, her voice soft and gentle, "no need for formalities."
Y/N's smile grew warmer, a reflection of her appreciation for the maternal understanding that Madam Jin extended. "Of course," she replied, a soft nod accompanying her words, as if they were both acknowledging the complexities that lay beneath the surface.
"But where is Jin Zixuan?" Madam Jin's voice held a tinge of concern, a concern that echoed the worry in Y/N's heart.
"He assured me that he would be here," Y/N's voice held a mixture of hope and unease, her gaze briefly averting from Madam Jin's knowing eyes. "There were matters that demanded his attention," she continued, her words chosen with care to shield Jin Zixuan from any potential judgment.
Madam Jin's expression shifted slightly, the frustration evident in her furrowed brows. "It's his son's one-month anniversary," she mused, her voice carrying a note of incredulity, "surely those matters could have waited."
Y/N's lips curved into a sympathetic smile, her gaze now focused on the other guests who had gathered to celebrate this milestone. "Of course," she agreed softly, her words a reflection of her understanding of the intricate balance between duty and familial commitments.
Amidst the mingling guests, a servant entered the hall, a hesitant expression etched upon their face. Their arrival was accompanied by a heaviness that seemed to settle over the room, casting a shadow over the festive atmosphere.
Y/N's heart quickened as the servant approached, and before words could be spoken, she already felt the gravity of what they carried. The news that fell from the servant's lips was like a thunderclap, jolting the celebration into stunned silence.
"Jin Zixuan was killed by The ghost general"
The words hung in the air like a lament, their impact rippling through the room. Shock reverberated through Y/N's veins, her thoughts frozen as if time itself had momentarily halted. The joy of celebration was abruptly eclipsed by the weight of tragedy, leaving Y/N standing amidst a sea of stunned faces, grappling with the sudden and profound loss that had shattered their world.
In that instant, the once joyous occasion was transformed into a gathering of mourning, a communal space where grief converged with the echoes of happiness that once filled the air. Y/N's heart ached as the realization settled upon her, Jin Zixuan, the man she had once loved and the father of her child, was now forever absent, leaving behind a void that could never be filled.
The news had struck Y/N like a physical blow, the words reverberating through her being as if they were echoing in an empty chamber. A feeling of nausea surged within her, an overwhelming sensation that threatened to consume her. She needed to see for herself, to confirm that it wasn't a cruel trick played by fate.
She ran, her feet carrying her outside and towards their chambers, her heart pounding in her chest as if trying to break free from the confines of her ribcage. Each step felt like a desperate plea to the universe, a yearning to wake up from the nightmare that had swallowed her reality. Her mind raced, torn between hope and despair, the memories of their happiness juxtaposed against the stark reality of loss.
As she entered the chambers that had once held their shared dreams and laughter, she was met with the cold reality that seemed to seep into her bones. The room felt both familiar and foreign, a place where their love had once flourished, now transformed into a realm of absence and ache.
And then, as if echoing the cruel irony of her thoughts, Y/N's eyes fluttered open. The transition from the dream world to her waking reality was disorienting, her senses adjusting to the soft light that filtered through the room.
Her heart raced as she took in her surroundings, her breath hitching as the remnants of her dream lingered like the tendrils of a fading fog. She was in her chambers, just as she had been in her dream. But the weight of the loss was no longer a mere illusion—it was her grim reality.
Her gaze shifted, and there, by her side, was Jin Guangyao. The sight of him was both comforting and perplexing, his presence a lifeline amidst the storm of her emotions.
"A-Yao," her voice was barely more than a whisper, a fragile thread that carried the weight of her grief, "is he really gone?"
His response was silence, an unspoken acknowledgment of the truth that hung in the air like a heavy shroud. And in that silence, Y/N felt her heart shatter anew, the pain of her loss threatening to engulf her.
Jin Guangyao's arms enveloped her, a gesture of comfort that she instinctively leaned into. Her tears flowed freely, a river of sorrow that seemed to have no end. She wept for the life they had shared, for the dreams that had been shattered, and for the future that had been stolen away.
In her anguish, Y/N didn't notice the slight smirk that graced Jin Guangyao's lips. His embrace was warm, his presence a balm to her wounded soul. As she sought solace in his arms, unaware of the hidden currents of his intentions, she was vulnerable to the comfort he offered, a comfort that was layered with his own agenda.
And so, Y/N wept in his embrace, her tears a testament to the depth of her sorrow. Little did she know, her pain was both a genuine expression of her loss and a pawn in a larger scheme, a scheme that Jin Guangyao had meticulously orchestrated.

I’ve been living with an empty space in my heart after finishing The Untamed and Word of Honor, coming here to read some good fics and finding none for WoH and only a few for MDZS (which I already have read all)
Like there are a lot of beautiful and fic-able(? characters in both shows ????

Happy birthday Nie Huaisang! This is...very short, but I did it in an hour. I love this head-shaker!
"Ah! Watch out!" I Look up to try and find the person the voice came from, but I was immediately confronted by a harsh smack in the face. I stumbled back a step, snapping my head down and holding my nose as I felt the throbbing pain travel from my nose to under my eyes. I look at the ground, searching for what hit me only to find a wooden fan on the marble of the walking trail. I snatch it off the ground and look back up at where the voice had come from, trying to find who was responsible for this, trying to find who could have been so clumsy. "Oh... I'm so sorry!"
As I search for where the voice is coming from I see a man leaning over the railing of a Gusu Lan balcony. As he looks down his black hair falls over his shoulders and sways with the wind, the same wind that makes the feeling of blood dripping from my nose painfully obvious as it steals the heat from it. His worried face almost soothes my annoyance as I see him cover his mouth before quickly running inside from the balcony. I can hear him stumble around inside the building as he makes his way down to the door. As I wait for him I use the sleeve of my Jin sect uniform to wipe the blood away before he can see it.
When he steps out he looks not only embarrassed but also apologetic. He takes a few steps closer before stopping and bowing his head. "I'm so sorry,' he says, "I was fanning myself when I heard you coming and I just got a bit startled. I wasn't expecting a Jin sect cultivator to be here. I can't believe I did that." He looks up at me, his deep brown eyes full of regret and his hair a bit messy from how he rushed down here. He holds out his hand, waiting to take the fan patiently. "C-can I have it back, please? I'll be more careful and I'll make sure to never let this happen again. I'm really, really sorry."
I give the fan to him, still annoyed but not angry anymore. I can tell he was genuinely sorry and that he really hadn't meant to hit me. "It's alright," I reply, "no harm done."
He smiles at me and bows his head again. "Thank you. I'm really sorry again." He stands there for a moment, looking like he wants to say something else but can't find the words. I can feel the tension in the air and he finally breaks it by stepping back and bowing one last time. "I'm Nie Huaisang, from the Qinghe Nie clan. I'll make sure this never happens again."
I nod in acknowledgment and bow my head in response. I can feel the sincerity from his words and I can tell he means what he says. "It's alright," I say, trying to sound friendly. "Nie Huaisang? That's pretty...just like you. I'm Y/n, from the Jin sect, but it seems you've already figured that out. I-"
I talk faster after giving him the compliment to take the attention off of it, not meaning to say it out loud, something else demands our attention first.
"Y/n! What are you doing out here?" Jin Zixuan came out of nowhere. He looks mad as he approaches me and Nie Huaisang. "Let's go." He grabs my arm, pulling me away from the conversation without stopping. I put a hand up and wave to Nie Huaisang as he tugs me behind him. "bye!" I watch as he waves back, noticing the small blush across his face and I turn to Jin Zixuan.
"What was that for?" I ask him after we stop, almost sounding offended as I talk. He looks back at me, annoyed. "You're late. Besides, you shouldn't be hanging around that... Good for nothing head-shaker."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nie Huaisang and Jin ling are my boys. I love them and they need endless praise. Happy birthday Nie Huaisang!!!
This is either going to get me cancelled or become the start of a revolution BUT.
I was having a mind boggling thought where Jiang Cheng and Jin Zixuan are a ship? And I was thinking about this and how Jin Ling would get raised by the two (they form a close bond over losing their sister and wife), and it would be chaotic but also bittersweet??
but then that idea got crushed once my mind cleared and it dawned on me that Jin Zixuan dies before Yanli (sadge). 😔
But regardless, if anyone can entertain this thought of mine, please,,, I am begging. Please entertain me.
Nature specialist
Tumblr media
Requested by anonymous: Howdy-doody! How about The Untamed characters of your own choice x the reader who can interact with nature and animals? They are something like "reader's scouts", so the reader is always the first to know what is happening around them.
Pairing: Untamed boys x gn!reader
Tumblr media
Wei Wuxian:
Tumblr media
meeting you is a complete accident
he claims it isn't, but it was
you had gotten stuck in a trap, strung up by your foot in the air
and any helpful tool you had laid on the ground
he stumbles by and frees you from the trap
before confessing that he might be lost
and he can't retrace his steps, because all the trees look the same
his words, not yours
surprisingly, to him at least, you have no difficulty with retracing his steps
your eyes were trained on the ground, hands touching the trees and ground ever so often
but after awhile, his steps start to mix with others
a group of people, at least five of them, had crossed the same path
"were you chased?"
it was a normal question, his tracks were clearly followed for a decent distance
his smile said enough as you looked around again
a low whistle from you caused some birds to fly lower to you
one landing on your shoulder
Wuxian had no time to ask what happened as the bird flew off again and you followed
and soon enough, you stood before the town that he came from
you thanked the bird, who then promptly flew off again
and Wuxian was left in a state of shock
because it wasn't that normal for someone to just talk to birds, or at least to understand them in a way
and you just stood there, acting like it was the most normal thing out there
you better believe that he'll cling to you from then on
he basically annoys you, but you don't really mind much
will try to use your skills for stupid little things
like how to find a beautiful scenery
or to see a weird animal that he had never seen before
it definitely makes your life a bit more interesting
and it gains you a life companion
Jiang Cheng:
Tumblr media
never did Jiang Cheng think it would be this easy
he had been chasing the same killer for at least a month now
even with the help of other clans
and yet he found nothing, always having the man slip through his fingers
so for some unknown cultivator to do it in just a day
lets just say he is not pleased
and maybe a bit angry
your explanation doesn't make it better
you can listen to nature and track with ease?
even his best trackers couldn't do it
so why would you be able to?
you prove him wrong very quick and easily
because you can easily find him following you
not even an hour into him doing so
it hurts his pride
just a bit
but enough for him to be intrigued
his first thought is to recruit you in a way
but you quickly decline it
before offering to just help him if needed
he calls for you a few times
and every time you finish the job in a day
and every time he is even more impressed
he doesn't really know why
it's not that special
(that's his denial, btw)
soon enough, he calls you up for other things
dinner, a weirdly "important" question or just to talk
you don't bother asking why, he won't answer anyways
but the small smile on his face said enough
Jin Zixuan:
Tumblr media
it is pure coincidence that you meet
although his life isn't bad, sometimes Jin Zixuan just ran off into the woods to be alone
and normally it works
until today, where you are also present
sitting by the lake and staring ahead
he pauses for a second, but you turn around anyway and greet him
before apologizing and saying that you didn't realize it was already time for him to come around
with a short mumble that he wasn't usually here on this day of the week
"Why do you know my schedule?"
he's a bit annoyed
you just shrug as you point at the formed path that he had created with his countless visits
but that doesn't explain how you know the days
but you have an explanation for that as well
because anyone can spot whether the ground is still soft from fresh spots or hard from being dry
nonetheless, you get up and ready to leave
and he is left alone again to ponder
you return a few days later
surprised to see him once again, you turn to leave once more
you are stopped when you notice him sleeping
you might not be from Lanling (or anywhere specific to begin with), but you knew his status all too well
thus, leaving him alone while he was asleep was a bit...
mean?
so you sat next to him at arms length, staring at the water
Zixuan awoke not much later
your attention is not on him
rather on the koi fish at your feet
talking in soft whispers as you softly petted them with your finger
Zixuan just stares at you, flinching when you turned your head his way
you give him a short smile before getting up, bowing your head again before turning to leave
his short protest brings you back to sit beside him
and the fish surround your feet once again
which prompts Zixuan to ask why
you just say that it is a gift of yours, nothing else
he doesn't really like the answer and he makes this known
but you don't falter, unlike most
so to get what he wants, he demands you to come over to the spot every day
you don't dare to refuse his request
Wen Ning:
Tumblr media
Wen Ning often found himself in the forest, hiding from society that shamed him for being how he was
not a warrior, but rather someone who just preferred peace and quiet
and preferably not too much social interaction
his usual path was blocked this time, however
by a person he had never seen before
"you should wait awhile, there's a herd coming through"
you spoke and Wen Ning frowned slightly, confused by your statement
it was quickly explained as a herd of red deer ran by
you didn't flinch or move away from their path
once the deer were gone, you moved again and walked down the same path as Wen Ning
he awkwardly trails behind you, fumbling with his robes
his awkwardness is quick to dissapear, however, as a cute little animal hopped your way
big eyes staring up at you before climbing up your extended arm
it sits on your shoulder, hiding behind your hair as it stared at Wen Ning
"you can pet him if you want. He's just a bit shy."
Wen Ning gets closer and extends his hand, lighting up when the creature actually acknowledges him
then it runs off again, just as quick as it came
Wen Ning wonders if it was your pet
but you shake your head when he asks
you stopped by a pond, staring straight ahead of you into the water
Wen Ning gets closer to the water as well, wanting to sit down in front of the water
he quickly jumps back again when he's met with two yellow eyes of an alligator
but once again, he is fascinated with how it approaches you with care before nestling in your arms
his curiosity wins and he approaches
with care of course
crouches and just stares
listens carefully as you start talking, kind enough to explain what was happening
Wen Ning later choses to sit as he listens to you
with his typical shy smile as the animals approached him as well
his fascination goes to you as well
and when he opens up, you should expect a lot of questions
If it Means to Remain by Your Side
From the list I posted yesterday, I'm gonna start with the Dan Heng x Reader MDZS inpsired fic first.
Characters and plot won’t be as accurate to the inspired plot. Especially for this story which involves a lot of adults and teens an not much children.  So many characters are left out simply due to the fact that a lot of npcs either didn’t fit the role, or were far too young for my standards.
I also ended up having to lean more onto the live action version than the novel/manhua version. Not all characters casted are exactly accurate too, as there are more traumatized than non-traumatized.
Cast
Dan Heng  - Lan zhan/Lan Wangji
Reader - Wei Ying/Wei Wuxian
Jing Yuan - Lan Xichen
Blade/Yingxing - Song Lan
March - Lan Jingyi
Yukong - Jian Yanli
Tingyun - Jin Guangyao
Jingliu - Xue Yang
Baiheng - Xiao Xingchen
Yanqing - Jin Ling
Ruan Mei _ Baoshan Sanren
Luocha - Jin Zixuan (Ik Yukong and him aren’t a ship, but it'll have to do as Honkai doesn’t really have a F and M implied relations. I mean the only ones that do are in a love triangle.)
Xueyi - Wen Ning
Hanya - Wen Qing
Qingque - Nie Huaisang
Diting - Fairy
Fu Xuan - Jiang Cheng
Guinaifen - Lan Sizhui/Lan Yuan (Again, not a ship as Yanqing is too fight frenzy of a kid to actually have a crush. I just think these two would pair well as friends)
Sushang - A-Qing
Setting/Sects
Luofu -- Gusu Lan
Dan Heng
Jing Yuan
March
Guinaifen (later half)
Yaoqing -- Qinghe Nie
Qingque
Zhuming -- Qishan Wen
Hanya
Xueyi
Guinaifen (first half
Yuque -- Lanling Jin
Yanqing & Fairy
Luocha
Tingyun
Fanghu -- Yunmeng Jiang
Reader
Fuxuan
Yukong
Misc.
Blade/Yingxing
Jingliu
Baiheng
Sushang
Huohuo
Ruan Mei
Xuling -- Burial Mounds
Reader (Mid-way)
Hanya (Mid-way)
Xueyi (Mid-way)
Guinafen (Mid-way)
I literally looked up all the different alliance of Xianzhou just to see which would be Wen sect. So here’s the reasoning.
Luofu: They don’t really have a specialty. Their main goal is to take out abundance cult.
Yaoqing: Much like Luofu, don’t really have a specialty. Aggressive and good at martial arts.
Zhuming: Their main export specialty is porcelain. According to Fandom wiki, the people here love playing with fire.
Yuque: They export jade abaci, thus making me think they’ll be wealthy due to it and technologically advanced/smart.
Fanghu: Exports a lot of marine things. Though it would make since to have Dan Heng come from here, but it would not make sense for other characters like March and Jing Yuan to have been born here. And it’s the closest in description to Yunmeng.
Xuling: Not much is really stated about this place on Fandom Wiki, but it looks like a place of law. But piggybacking off of the fact that not much is written about this area, Imma just gonna liken this area to Burial Mounds.
Idk why I stressed so much trying to make it 100% accurate 💀
My main source for these infos are from MDZS and Star Rail fandom wiki, so if inaccuracies occur, I apologize in advance for it.
MXTX's women part 2
Let's do ✨discourse™✨part 2
This is a follow up to this post where the only conclusions I came to were vibes based... mainly because my opinions here are generally vibes based (except svsss - I am pretty firm on my view of svsss, but that's a separate post). I think there are strong arguments either way, and tbh I have nothing against vibes based conclusions, but for fun, I'm going to take a position and argue for it.
disclaimer: 1) this post is not my opinion. 2) nonetheless, this post is entirely unironic. I think these are compelling arguments.
Position 1: MDZS and TGCF are sexist.
To recap, I posed (dramatically, in bold face) that the most important question to ask are: What is the intent? How is that intent received? This can be summed up as: What is the message you take away?
Obviously, you can fight me here, but I'll expand. Firstly, the question doesn't fundamentally come down to what the work contains, even though this is important. Every statement on the lines of 'x is sexist because it contains y' has a counterexample. Is the Handmaid's Tale sexist because it contains men in power and women treated as objects? Well op, this is a dumb example, you might say, and you would be right. The message of the Handmaid's Tale is clearly different from, say, MDZS and everything it contains is a support of that message - that a woman's reproductive freedom is her right. And I would go, ah ha, yes. Intent. (You can still disagree with me lol. This came out of a conversation literally a week ago.)
But also note, the author's actual intent is secondary. It's a useful framing to understand what the message is, but due to e.g. unconscious bias, or internalised sexism, the message gained by the reader/audience can be entirely independent of the intent of the author. For example, (one of my all time favourite c-dramas) the Secret of the Three Kingdoms I think is trying to be empowering for women, has lots of cool female characters, but the ultimate message can be summarised as 'men plough, women weave'... which is :/
Another subtlety to point out is that trends and popular tropes/archetypes tell a very different story when looked at overall. 'Woman in the refrigerator' and 'bury your gays' isn't a problem about individual works (although it often is mixed into other problems), but it's prevalence and dominance spreads harmful messages. A work which is great on it's own can actually be contributing to a wider problem, thus making it a problem.
MDZS: Women as accessory
It's not that difficult to argue that MDZS has an exceptional cast of women. I have no intention of arguing that MDZS's women aren't well developed, because enough people have come up with compelling counterarguments and they aren't hard to find. I think MDZS's portrayal of sexism is both exceptionally nuanced and not something you see much of. I love the way MDZS uses and breaks down tropes. I would argue (have argued) that the way MXTX puts sexism into her works is (at least partly) very much deliberate, and not with the intent of being sexist.
But remember, death of the author: author's original intentions don't matter in the face of what can be read from the text.
Notable in MDZS is 1) the lack of female characters who aren't defined by their relation to a major male character 2) women in the refrigerator.
1) Jiang Yanli is Wei Wuxian's older sister. Yu Ziyuan is Wei Wuxian's adopted mother. Wang Lingjiao is Wen Chao's girlfriend. Madam Jin, Meng Shi, Qin Su. Now, there are notable exceptions. Wen Qing is Wen Ning's sister, but her character is substantial even without that. Luo Qingyang (mianmian). Sisi (arguably). But there are overwhelmingly more male characters, and perhaps more importantly, hardly any male characters defined by their relation to a female character. There are a few. Madam Mo and her husband. Jin Zixuan as Jiang Yanli's husband (arguably). This isn't an exhaustive list but you get the idea.
2) Well, firstly, most of them die. Yu Ziyuan ends up in an unhappy marriage and dies as her sect burns down. Jiang Yanli loses a husband and then sacrifices herself for her brother. Wang Lingjiao gets offed by Wei Wuxian. Qin Su is killed by her husband. Mo Xuanyu's mother and Madam Jin just die of 'heartbreak' for what? Plot convenience? More egregiously, all of these deaths are there to either a) plot reasons or b) to add to the development of a male character. This is precisely the 'women in the refrigerator' trope, but multiplied a million times.
The only female character who got her happy ending was Mianmian... who lives a simple life with her family in the middle of nowhere. And it's great that in being brave and pursuing the right thing, she found happiness for herself, but this being the only example is um...
Well, the message feels suspiciously like women exist only for men. Men are the protagonists of their stories. Women are accessories. Sounds pretty sus. Maybe this is all due to the sexism of the world, but the message is then that the only way for women to succeed is to leave the system altogether, which is a nuanced thing but not true and somewhat unhelpful as a message.
Now, arguably, MXTX is leaning into tropes in order to be critical of them. Her female characters are full of tropes, and subversions of tropes - they could act as a critique of female characters in BL (in the way the female characters in SVSSS are critique of female characters in harem). There are a few pointers to this - Mianmian standing up to sexism, or the depth and nuance of Yu Ziyuan finding power+influence through her marriage of Jiang Fengmian. But the point stands is that isn't the message most people take away, because of the way MDZS is framed. MDZS just works as a xianxia action/romance. It isn't a parody (or at least, you don't need to read it as one to follow it). It isn't explicitly critical of how the women end up, nor is the narrative centered around the experiences of women. It is very easy to take away the surface level messages, which I think many people end up doing.
Whatever MXTX intended to say with her female characters, arguably MDZS already adds to an existing problem in how media portrays women. Media plays a huge role in how we see ourselves and other people, and unideal representation of women can lead to unconscious biases and stereotypes which are harmful. This being the case, one could argue that any media that fails to either fix the issue or address the issue sufficiently is problematic. On this vein, MDZS falls short.
TGCF: women as secondary
While TGCF improves on the front of women in power doing well, and more explicitly calling out the sexism of the world, it fails at a different front: the lack of women within the core plot.
The structure of TGCF is very different to MDZS, in that it contains a lot of what I would call 'side quests'. This is not a bad thing (this is sort of the whole point of things like (old) Star Trek or Doctor Who). But the core story of TGCF is (arguably) 1) Xie Lian's two ascensions and in between 2) Meeting Hua Cheng at various points 3) Tonglu mountain. And within this core story, there isn't a single female character necessary for the plot.
Ling Wen, Xuan Ji, Banyue, Shi Qingxuan, Yushi Huang... are all exceptional female (and non-binary) characters in their own right, but the story doesn't require them. They could be swapped out quite easily with other characters, unlike e.g. main pair, Feng Xin, Mu Qing, Jun Wu... (Note this isn't about how often they appear, or how developed they are. Lang Ying (the old one) doesn't appear a lot, but is essential to the plot.) (Yushi Huang and Ling Wen are kind of required, but equally for like... quest and item giving purposes which is not really the same.)
It's almost like there is no female person in Xie Lian's life who is essential to his personhood. And the message might inadvertently be that women are part of side quests - they aren't necessary.
This is, in part, a Xie Lian problem. The narration is tied closely to Xie Lian's pov (but isn't third person limited, interestingly), and we get delights like this:
Aside from the fact that Xuan Ji went mad whenever she ran into Pei Ming, she was otherwise much more detail-oriented and cautious than Qi Rong - she was a woman, after all.
(btw, be exceptionally suspicious of statements like 'women are more detail-oriented and cautious'. They are often wrong, or with heavy caveats.)
This is not on it's own a bad thing - e.g. compare with Shen Qingqiu's narration in SVSSS. But it is arguably a bad thing if you pair it with the fact that Xie Lian is 1) presented as much more likable than Shen Qingqiu 2) is not as obviously bias. He comes across as a trustable character, and so we are less likely to question his biases... so we run into the same problem as in MDZS: we aren't led to question the surface level messages, so the message we take away is an unhelpful one.
I feel like the way around this is (somewhat paradoxically) to reintroduce female characters whose lives (from narrator pov) revolve around the protagonist. (e.g. get in an Jiang Yanli) (The 800 year time skip means they either need to 1) become gods, 2) become ghosts 3) die, all of which have their own potential problems but that's for the author to figure out :p) Making Xie Lian less sexist would be slightly unrealistic but not at all out of character. Having Xie Lian's biases explicitly called out and this be a big thing is another way to go. Or both.
To conclude
Both points fall down to something along these lines: although both MDZS and TGCF make attempts at commentary on the struggles of women, because this narrative is not at the forefront of the story they inadvertently give across only half the message, which is worse than no message at all. 'There are tropes within the genre which treat women badly and this is bad' becomes 'women are like what these tropes say they are like'. 'Women aren't given opportunities so end up worse off' becomes 'women end up worse off'.
Maybe something in between MDZS to TGCF would be an improvement, but also, if the focus on male characters meant these narratives were difficult to execute within a reasonable word count, it might have been better to just skip sexism altogether. (sci fi is usually where this is attempted seriously, but fantasy definitely has scope for imagining better societies.) (This is all much easier said than done btw. Part of a fan's job is to stand on the sidelines and complain, right? 😂)
[Sims4] MDZS - Lanling Jin - Golden Carp Tower 金鳞台
Hi All, I'm back with a new build for Sims 4. This is the The Golden Carp Tower of Lanling Jin Sect!
Tumblr media
I have received a lot of love and requests to download the previous 2 MDZS Sims4 Build series. I'm sorry for my late reply, as I rarely open my Tumblr.
I have replied to all the messages, and for you new readers who somehow discovered my Tumblr, don't be shy and drop me a DM for the download link. Please expect a delay in reply, as I rarely open my Tumblr.
Now that I'm back and have some free time, I finally got to re-visit my Sims4. Continuing the MDZS / the untamed build series, here I present you the residence of Jin Sect in Lanling City. The Golden Carp Tower (金鳞台, Jīnlín Tái; lit. Golden Scale Tower; also: Jinlin Tower, Koi Tower, Carp Tower) - source https://modao-zushi.fandom.com/
There's not much reference to Golden Carp Tower from the animation or the live-action series. However, watching the series, I feel that Lan Ling Jin's residence is very beautiful, a bit feminine, with a lot of flowers. As the name suggests "Tower", Lan Ling Jin's residence should be a tall building with long enormous stairs.
Tumblr media
source: https://modao-zushi.fandom.com/wiki/Golden_Carp_Tower
I found a beautiful castle built by one of the Sims 4 players, and I worked around and renovated most of it to suit the style of Lan Ling Jin's residence that I remember from the animation and live-action series.
THE BUILD
Tumblr media
Overall look from above: LanLing Jin's Golden Carp Tower
Due to limited capabilities in Sims 4, I tried hard to fit in ideal stairs to the castle. I am proud of the end result. Dominated with yellow gold and light green, the Golden Carp Tower looks elegant with a huge garden and outdoor space. The tower stood on a 64 x 64 lot.
THE ENTRANCE
Tumblr media
The entrance with big stairs is the highlight. With Jin Sect's emblem
BUILDING MAP
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The 1st-floor situation is giving a big outdoor area in the middle. From the entrance, you can walk straight to the main building where the throne of the sect leader is located and the main room and house for the main family. On the sides, you'll find supporting buildings, which each have their own function.
GARDEN LANDSCAPE
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The vast beautiful garden will greet you right through the high stairs and gate before entering the main building.
THE THRONE
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Main building situation, where the leader of Jin Sect sits and welcomes important guests.
Tumblr media
On the right side, we have some leisure space and a dining room which then extends to lounge space. Upstairs we have a bedroom
Tumblr media
Lounge and Guest Room
Tumblr media
Kitchen
Tumblr media
We have a pond and a nice creative space on the left side of the main building.
Tumblr media
Little Library
Tumblr media
Little Pond was created by Jin Zixuan for Jiang Yanli when the latter missed Lotus Pier so much Jin Zixuan created the pond to mimic Lotus Pier. How sweet :)
Tumblr media
Dormitory
SURPRISE BASEMENT
Tumblr media
Down below the Jin's Sect leader's throne, we have another throne and space for different occasions. This is where the party happens, a beautiful garden hall.
Tumblr media
On the left side, we have a study room, where the teacher will lead the learning of Jin's sect students.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On the right side, we have a material arts practice space.
CHILL & RELAXING SPACE
Tumblr media
Jin Sect, as one of the wealthiest families in the series, of course, needs a place for leisure with fancy facilities. We have an onsen with a nice bathroom and lockers next to the material arts dojo room. It's a nice location for the students to recover and relax after practice.
THE CULTIVATION AREA
Tumblr media
Lastly, since I will never be able to let the magic stuff not be embedded in the house. For me, the magic furniture really completes the MDZS / The Untamed Universe in the Sims. This is where the magic and rituals happen.
BEDROOMS
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bedrooms, bathrooms, and private study room.
That's all pretty much the overall look of Lan Ling Jin's Golden Carp Tower from the Mo Dao Zu Shi / The Untamed / Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation series. Of course, there are a lot of rooms, like the main bedrooms, more bedrooms, and the academy area, which I haven't put in here. Thus, for you who are interested in downloading and adding this beautiful build to your gallery and Sims world, feel free to DM me for the files!
See you in the next post!!
My favorite Mo Dao Zu Shi fanfictions pt. 1
Ever since I've fallen down the Mo Dao Zu Shi / The Untamed rabbit hole, I've discovered lots of nice fanfictions that I think many others would also enjoy.
Jade Dragon [Lan Xichen x Reader] by lily. ->Summary: "Wei (Y/n) didn't know about her twin brother, when she knew about him she departed from The Celestial Mountains to find him and got involved in the matters of the cultivation world... But What happens when a certain Sect Leader and the Wei Sister fall for each other?" ->What I think: If you love Lan Xichen, don't miss out on this one. Wei (Y/n), a disciple of Baoshan Sanren, separated from her twin brother, Wei Wuxian, at a young age due to her unique powers, leaves the Celestial Mountains to help her brother after a recurring dream that seems to signify the arrival of chaos and violence in the mortal world. First encountering an injured, unconscious Lan Xichen with Meng Yao, their relationship starts building up during the Sunshot Campaign, later resulting in sweet, precious moments like Lan Xichen spoiling (Y/n), raising Wei Lifen, an orphaned child adopted by Wei (Y/n), together, and their life in the Cloud Recesses. Lots of turns and twists in this story, so prepare yourself for one heck of a plotline. ->Ships: Lan Xichen x Reader, Wei Wuxian x Lan Wangji, Jiang Cheng x Wen Qing, Jiang Yanli x Jin Zixuan ->Where to read: Wattpad (published up to chapter 39), Quotev (complete, with all 70 chapters) Sequel: The Broken Fall (work in progress; published up to Chapter 14 on Quotev) ->Summary: "Fate deals a cruel blow to Wei (Y/n) when she loses her brother and later tragically her child. This devastating loss pushes Hexia-zun to her breaking point, and she finds herself teetering on the edge of a dark path. With each step she takes, the line between right and wrong become increasingly blurred, and her actions have unforeseen consequences. Will Lan Xichen ever know the secrets his wife started to keep? Will he ever be able to pull her out of the dark abyss?"
A Fog and A Flame || XiCheng by WhydaWannaKnowHuh ->Summary: "The first thing Lan Xichen saw when his consciousness returned to him was skin. Some of it snow white: that was his skin. The rest was a shade darker, tanned and caressed by the sun all its life. Beneath him, panting, breathing hard, hair loose and sprawled out around him. Those dark almond eyes half-lidded, filled with a desire so strong it felt like falling. It was not hard to guess what had been happening." ->What I think: It sounds like there is some more mature content in there, but it's only implied, not described (rated Teen on AO3). As we all know, Lans cannot handle alcohol. Despite knowing it, Lan Xichen still drank, not bothering to expel it through his golden core, leading to a chaotic night with Jiang Cheng. This was a really nice read: The author, while writing good depictions of the characters used, managed to showcase Lan Xichen's love and caring for Lan Wangji, while building up a pretty realistic and well-planned relationship between the two of them. A special chapter at the end featuring the PoV of Lan Yuxin, a young disciple of the Gusu Lan Sect, who was told to keep guard outside Lan Xichen's room, making it all the more enjoyable. ->Ships: Lan Xichen x Jiang Cheng, Wei Wuxian x Lan Wangji ->Where to read: Quotev (complete and published with 11 chapters and an extra), AO3 (complete, written in oneshot format with an extra)
Rewrite the stars by moonlit_dewdrops ->Summary: "What if Jiang Cheng found out about the golden core earlier? What if he had tried pulling Suibian out from its sheathe right after recovering the sword from the Wens? AU story about how Jiang Cheng and Wei WuXian's relationship is affected by the suddenly reveal of truth and how it will affect the rest of the plot" ->What I think: A much happier plot the the original. In this fanfiction, Jiang Cheng and Wei Wuxian's relationship does not get ruined like it did originally and the Wen remnants actually get a happy ending instead of being killed. Personally, I sympathize with Jiang Cheng, so I love to see the stories where he and Wei Wuxian have a close bond as brothers and that Jiang Cheng gets a happy ending. If you're looking for something warm and shows Wei Wuxian, Jiang Cheng, and Jiang Yanli's relationship, read this one. You won't regret it. ->Ships: Wei Wuxian x Lan Wangji, Jiang Cheng x Wen Qing, Jiang Yanli x Jin Zixuan ->Where to read: Wattpad (complete and published with 23 chapters and a prologue), AO3 (complete with additional ten-part fanfic with extras)
The Twin Prides of Yunmeng Wake Up In The Past by HarukiUsagi46 ->Summary: "After the dual between Wei Wuxian and Jiang Wanyin, the two of them doesn't know that when they fall asleep that night they don't know what is about to happen to them. While sleeping in his bed Wei Wuxian hear, "A-Xian time to wake up. A-Cheng and you already sleep pass your breakfast." Wei Wuxian shot straight up, 'Jiang shushu? No way, isn't he suppose to be dead,' Wei Wuxian look around the room, 'I'm back? I'm back in my room, back in Lotus Cove. No way is this happening.' "A-Xian, I'm coming in," when the door open Wei Wuxian eye went wide, 'Jiang Shushu' he got out of bed, rush toward Jiang Fengmian and hugged him. This surprise Jiang Fengmian a lot since Wei Wuxian never gave him a hug, "A-Xian what's wrong?" "I.....I....I'm just so happy to see you again Jiang Shushu," 'I will do my best to change the past,' "Oi Wei Wuxian!" Wei Wuxian look out the door to see a heavy breathing Jiang Cheng. "A-die can I talk to Wei Wuxian?" Wei Wuxian and Jiang Fengmian let go of each other, " Okay but don't take too long, you both need to be at the training field to train okay?" The two boy nodded their head, Jiang Fengmian left the two of them along. When Jiang Fengmian is gone, Jiang Cheng walk into Wei Wuxian room and closed the door. "WEI WUXIAN WHAT IN THE WORLD IS GOING ON HERE? HOW IN THE HELL DID WE END UP HERE IN THE PAST?!" What will the two boys do? Will they change the past? Will they keep everyone alive including the Wen remnant? ->What I think: I just love fanfics that showcase the bond between Jiang Cheng and Wei Ying, okay? This is another good example of one. After their planned duel, the two of them find themselves in the past, determined to change everything for the better. Plus, the Wen remnants actually got the happy ending they deserved AND Xue Yang got to have a nice life in this, too! So many MDZS-related things I love to see compiled in one... ->Ships: Wei Wuxian x Lan Wangji, Jiang Cheng x Lan Xichen, Jiang Yanli x Jin Zixuan ->Where to read: Wattpad (complete with all 23 chapters)
General Poly yandere Yanli and Jin Zixuan headcanons?
I like died but I came back. Hope you didn’t wait too long for these, sorry I was struggling mentally but hopefully I can continue writing more and more for y’all <3 Enjoy!
Tumblr media
Yandere Jiang Yanli Headcanons
These are my interpretations of her persona and none of these are 100% accurate. I don’t condone any of these actions in real life and all of this is purely fictional.
Okiedoki, so I was incredibly excited to write these out because it’s not every day you get asked to write for the girls so here we go! Starting off, Yanli is incredibly sweet towards her younger brother’s, I truly don’t think there is an evil bone in her body. She’s extremely kind and precious for this world, but don’t let that fool you because she can most definitely stand her ground! I think for you to be her S/O you would have to be either friends with her or be somewhat close to either the Jiang clan or the Jin clan. Though poly, I will be focusing first on the separate attributes and then combine them together! Yanli strikes me as overprotective, clingy, manipulative, and obsessive.
Overprotective is a given. She cares so much about Jiang Cheng and Wei Wuxian that it’s adorable? She would absolutely pamper her S/O, making them quite spoiled. She’s very kind which makes you very trusting of her which she may or may not use later to her advantage. If you’re ever feeling sad, tell her. She’ll do what she can to defend you and make the pain go away, but most of all she’d comfort you so well. A gentle hug or cling, where you hear her heartbeat and feel her warmth as she lulls you to sleep and into a place of warmth. If something ever happens that is outside of her power, bet your ass she’d go to Jin Zixuan and snitch. Leading to the head man with power to go and deal with it. Whereas Zixuan tries to be emotional and empathetic, Yanli is the strong suit here for sure.
Obsessive. Not in the creepy over the tree making you “one eye open when I’m sleeping” type shit, but rather being observant. She’s observant of your behavioral patterns and what it is you can/can’t do. For example your likes and dislikes, any lingering touches and what your words mean. Saying I’m fine but you’re really not, your nervous/anxious tics etc. she comes to adore your entire being and strives to ensure all your needs are met. This is why I also consider her clingy. She’d hover over you nonstop, always offering to prepare you a meal, helping you with chores, agreeing to help you style yourself a certain way, tending to your injuries, attending the market with you, etc. I know once she married Zixuan that all her needs would be met because of servants, but I see her refusing to rely too much on the servants and doing something for herself. She’s always by your side and wants to make you as happy as possible.
Manipulative. A bit of a stretch but hear me out on this, she can only protect you the way she knows how. That’s by taking care of you, but she can’t exactly do that when you’re no longer in her presence. Whether it be manipulating others to make sure her S/O is safe and by her side or using her power of authority to demand you do something, she will. Even then she can also go to Zixuan and he’ll probably use his authority to make it so that they listen to Yanli. To anyone, Yanli is just overly cautious but I honestly see her as the type to purposely poison or somehow hurt her S/O just so she can dote on them and take care of them. Scary.
Yeah no, she isn’t the WORST yandere because Jin Guangyao INSTANTLY takes that spot. If you don’t mind being doted on and pampered to no end, then by all means go with her. I’d say she’d be a 6/10 just because she could do the whole let me bind you to me to be able to spoon feed you soup. Oh yeah and that 6/10 is JUST for her. Combined. . .oh boy.
Tumblr media
Yandere Jin Zixuan Headcanons
These are my interpretations of his persona and none of these are 100% accurate. I don’t condone any of these actions in real life and all of this is purely fictional.
I HATED this man. Like sir, make up your GODDAMN MIND. Do you want Yanli? Do you hate Yanli? Idk. . you seem like you want to get close to her but then stop and then are like, “this is inappropriate Yanli we must stop.” LIKE HUH??? Anyway, we’ll be exploiting that. The kind of yandere that I see him as is overprotective, possessive, and surprisingly, clingy. The only reason why I didn’t use manipulation was probably because he wouldn’t use that tactic, he’d probably use his power status or the one he would have had if you know, he lived.
Overprotective and that’s a given. When they were instructed to take care of Yanli when Jiang Cheng wasn’t there, he did it. He ensured that a majority of her needs were met if he himself could provide them. He’d take her out and have talks. Simple as that. He cared for her, but despite the shit I gave him I think he was just scared. If you think about it, their marriage was arranged for them by both their mothers and that's how it was. I feel like maybe he wanted to love Yanli by his own volition as opposed to thinking it was forced. Maybe he pushed her back because he assumed she did it because of the arrangement. Maybe he refused to admit that they were anything because what if it didn’t work out? Then again, maybe I’m just reading too far into this and he was just confused like I was. Regardless, he always puts her feelings above his own and others. He’d do the same for you, his S/O. He’d ensure that all your needs are met, the servants understand that you too are his lover along with Yanli’s. You don’t feel safe at night? He’ll make sure you and Yanli are together to better protect you both and ensure there is tighter security around your room. He’ll ensure that the BOTH of you are safe and secure all the time. You want to go shopping with Yanli? Great, he’ll make time out of his day to go with you and if not, he’ll send guards. You want to go by yourself? Well. . .that’s a bit tricky but he’ll bite. He’d act the same he does with Yanli with you, but since you may or may not have been abducted by them, they probably will spend more time with you.
Possessive. I mean, he’s tightening security so what if a guard is tryna have a sneaky link with you? Oh hell nah, the moment you’re back he’ll call for you. He won’t be bold because lord forbid this man be bold, but he’ll do what he can within his comfort zone to prove that you belong to him. Shit, Yanli might do that same thing. You belong to them. Simple as that. If you’re a cultivator of such, he’d ensure that you have the Jin crest/symbol so that others know to steer clear of you. Others will treat you with respect. He’ll have a hand on you at all times and Yanli the other one. You’re theirs, point blank period.
Clingy. There is no way you can tell me he’ll be a cold lover. He has trouble communicating his feelings but he’d love to have you with him at all times. When he’s really tired he’ll just melt and yours or Yanlis touch. He’d probably enjoy being pampered by the both of you. He’ll listen to any and all complaints you have because he enjoys your presence, and both will smile and laugh at all the jokes and stories you tell. They love you so much and will always be there for you. Your needs and their needs.
His level would be 5/10 for the simple fact that he probably wouldn’t be too stressful. He would lack a bit with the affection bit since he struggles with that, but he’d never do anything to harm you. He can, however, use his power to restrict you and your access to things, people, etc. He’d also listen to Yanli so if she says he should do this, he’ll do it.
Together it’s a 8/10. One has the power to do things and listens. The other has emotional manipulation on their side and a twisted way to care for your needs so uh, I recommend you just be yourself and enjoy your time there. I mean yeah they die so it won’t last long but if they don’t….. oh and WWX would LOWKEY be supportive. So if you run, you’re gonna have him and LWJ chase your ass so…. Have fun ig.
Hi there!! I saw you have opened the requests. Thank you!! I remembered an old spanish series where a future couple (they were like 14) where in the park and the boy said to the girl "It hurts... here" while touching his lips because he had a wound because he was in a fight. So the girl kiss him and well, you can imagine the rest xD
So... Can I ask the same phrase (I saw it in the post) with Jiang Cheng, Jin Zixuan, Wen Qing and Lan Sizhui?? Please? 🥺🥺🥺
why of course! this is just so so so cute; i’ve taken much inspiration from your prompt. :)
here’s to your request~
✄┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈«
“it hurts...here”
Jiang Cheng
you tilt your head as you lean closer to Jiang Cheng’s face
you’re as serious as a twelve year old can be, slathering more than enough of the sharp smelling balm on his bottom lip
your same age friend is pouting
whether out of pain or just to help you reach the place that was split
you sigh, sounding closer to his mother than his friend
“you should be more careful” you scold
and when you look up you see the wateriness of your friend’s eyes
“ooh, does it hurt a lot?” you question, worry replacing the annoyance that you had planned to share with him
Jiang Cheng sucks in a deep breath, determined not to let his emotions show
“you have to tell me where it hurts, so i can help you” you tell him, and he blinks at you then looks elsewhere
you sigh at his silence
you turn away from him, about to get off the swings when you hear him wince out some words
“it hurts...here”
just the three words he’s said already make his lip look like it’s about to split again
and you remember your mother used to kiss all your injuries away
so you think the same notion should be applicable to friends
and before Jiang Cheng realizes what his confession of pain leads to
you’re already leaning in for a kiss
and magically your lips do heal him
but not just his split lip
it opens his heart too
Jin Zixuan
“ouch ouch ou...” Jin Zixuan whines where you’re kneeled in front of him
his elbow is pretty scraped up
but he’s already fourteen now
a whole year older than you
he was supposed to be stronger
braver
more courageous
as he always liked to boast about
yet the moment that he falls off the slide, he comes crying to you at the side of the playground
luckily your mom had been there
and now you were just blowing on one of the lighter scrapes on his elbow, before you placed the bandage on it
but he was already fussing about it nonstop
“if you keep talking it’ll hurt more!’ you tell Zixuan seriously, because you can’t concentrate and use your magical healing power to heal it
when you finish putting the bandaid over the cut, you pucker you lips and land a soft kiss on the plastic-y surface
Jin Zixuan is shocked into silence at your treatment
you take his silence as disgust and immediately explain your power,
“my mommy says that my kisses heal all kinds of pain! so i used my healing power on top of your bandaid so it doesn’t hurt anymore!”
Jin Zixuan looks a little unimpressed, and you pout at him
“i’m serious! i can heal anything!” you tell him
“it hurts...here” Zixuan tells you, and your eyes land on the way that his chapped lip is bleeding,
“well silly, you don’t wear chapstick!” you tell him
and he doesn’t expect you to kiss him with your glossily balmed up lips
but you do
and it’s a strawberry lip balm that he remembers the taste of long into his teen years
Wen Qing
Wen Qing is quiet as she stares at you
you’re diligent in your work, cooling air from your lips soothing the irritated burn that was found on her hand
you’re gentle when you press the cold compress on her hand, in addition to the aloe gel and other burn aids that you had piled on
as a student in the last of her residency, she doesn’t know how much that is actually supposed to help
but well, she’s too enamored by your care to correct you
“still hurts,” Wen Qing tells you quietly while you’re concentrated on holding the compress at the correct angle of her burn
your widen eyes land her immediately, quickly lifting and fretting over the fact that Wen Qing is still hurt,
but she just grabs you hand, face breaking into a soft smile
“it hurts...here”
she points a hand to her lips, the gentlest of lifts at the edges
you calm down from your fretting, letting out a relieved but also amused sigh
“we’re not 14 anymore, A-Qing” you tell her
but you lean in for a kiss anyways
Lan Sizhui
Sizhui groans softly, holding his stomach from where he’s laid on the couch
you hurriedly come into the room
a hot drink placed on the table and tablets for stomach pain placed on the table
you sit besides where he’s laid, your cool hand coming up to feel his temperature
“you don’t seem warm, maybe you ate something bad” you tell him, when he looks at you
Sizhui huffs a half laugh, watching you quietly as you begin preparing the tablet and the drink for him
“it kinda hurts...”
you turn worriedly at Sizhui’s words, eyes raking his entire form to see what was wrong
“here...” you watch as Sizhui pats his stomach
when your hand starts rubbing there, you watch in widened anxiousness, as he pats his chest
your hand follows everywhere he points to
“here...”
“and here...”
“it hurts...here” Sizhui says and finally his hand land near his face, pointing at his lips
you huff out a disbelieving laugh at him
“how much were you actually in pain?” you question, humoring Sizhui when he pouts up at you
“i remember someone used to say that their kisses had healing powers,” Sizhui teases, reminiscing your young days at the playground
you roll your eyes but lean down to meet his lips
your lips still have magic
whether that be healing or not
only time will tell
 Sure! I had to make a new topic after I cried last night but here you go! Fem reader! ( sorry if you are a boy!! ) Mall -> School ( I had some fun with the mall first kay? )
featuring : Yanli-jie, Jin peacock, tsundere boyfriend, adorable y/n!, And delusional Wei Wuxian, With kuudere Lan Wangji!
☆*: .。. .。.:*☆ You are Late again   ☆*: .。. .。.:*☆
Tumblr media
Oh! It’s already school now??.. You say in your head as Jiang Cheng got out of the bathroom dressed “Hurry up Y/N dear, we will be late for breakfast!” He says and is already combing his hair. Luckily he had prepared your clothes and dried your hair “Okay we still have 30 mins!” As you both walk into the cafeteria. Phew! Wei Wuxian and Yanli saved you both some seats and some food! “Thank you!!” You hugged Yanli and Wei Wuxian ( Oh no! The kuudere is jealous! ). They both knew how grumpy you will be when you don’t take your breakfast ( basically you might be a Wei Wuxian 2.0.. pissing off the teachers and all ).  After you all ate it is time to go to your classes. “History..” Jiang Cheng and Wei Wuxian says “Music and Arts!” You and yanli held hands with glittering eyes “math.” Jin Zixuan and Lan Wangji say to all of you “Well good luck boys! Because me and Yanli love this class!” You and Yanli kissed your boyfriends goodbye since class will start once you got there. “Man there is a quiz today..” Jiang Cheng recalls “WHAT?” Wei Wuxian says in surprise while Lan Wangji kisses him and bids him goodluck. ( Don’t ask why Nie huaisang isn’t here and Yanli is in the same class as you but your the same age as Jiang Cheng.. ). After the classes it is now the passing period “Guys!! Over here!” They saw you and they sat down with you both telling stories about how was the class and what happened “You won’t believe what Wei Wuxian did..” Jiang Cheng facepalms at the memory “What did a-Xian do?” Yanli asks Jiang Cheng “I avoided detention basically!” Oh darn he gonna get in trouble with Lan Qiren...
☆*: .。. .。.:*☆
It was time to go to the dormitory when you were caught running “Detention.” One of the teachers say to you and you suffer the long hour of detention. You managed to text Jiang Cheng secretly and say :
Y/N : “Wanyin! Wait for me after 30 more minutes I’m in detention for running..”
Wanyin is typing...
Wanyin : “Fine, I’ve already waited for 30 minutes anyways. I’ll be here outside the library.”
“She’s gonna be late again.”
30 minutes later he saw you and hugged you “Sorry to make you wait for so long Wanyin.” You say “It’s fine.” You both went to your dorm and slept on your beds.
Tumblr media
“She’s a threat!”
“If kept uncontained, she could ruin the entire cultivation world!“
“She is conspiring against the nation!”
“Burn her!”
“Kill the traitor!!”
Many times in your life had you made mistakes. Many times you had wished to go back and remedy them. If you had made the right decision the first time... maybe you wouldn’t be in the mess you were in.
But you couldn’t tell the future. And not once did you regret your decisions that had led you to where you stood now. Bound. Chained at the wrists behind your back as you were dragged up the steps of Koi Tower with a brand labeled on your back as a demonic cultivator.
You hadn’t meant for things to go so far. You used to be a renowned physician within the boundaries of Caiyi, curing the sick, helping the poor. You had made a name for yourself, having grown up an orphan with another young boy tied to the hip -- you had a talent for medicine that you never let go to waste, and while he was never blood related to you, the both of you had been on the streets together for most of your life. Blood wasn’t always thicker than water between you two.
“Zhao Gang! Be careful!” You yelled out, watching with cautious eyes as your rambunctious companion had ran along the water’s edge.
It was later in the night, mid fall, and you had been using both the light of the moon as well as the light of a lantern that was set nearby to your table to sort through which medicinal herbs were still good for use from your purchase earlier in the evening. You had gotten a higher patient list, and it seemed to keep steadily growing and such so did your need for more medicine.
“[ Y/N ]! Look at me! Look!” At the sudden scream he let out, you looked over to see him in a full headstand -- thankful he had on under-robes, but he looked unsteady next to the edge and it triggered your nerves for the final time. And even then as he laughed, you got up in worry, rushing over to grasp him.
“Zhao Gang, you’re going to fall-!”
But you were too late. He lost his balance and fell backwards into the water. His head had hit the wooden edge of the pier hard, causing a few minor cuts and bruises, as well as a concussion. You had struggled to pull him to the water’s surface, and even harder so to keep him from growing ill due to the chilled autumn air and water.
Things seemed to be well for a week. Maybe two.
It started quite small, comprehension issues. Difficulty speaking and understanding you; though it would come and go. But then it continued on to a loss of sight in his left eye, a loss in being able to make a fist, and before you knew it he was bedridden with nausea and seizures.
You were by his side daily, nightly, always trying something new to help him heal -- but he was deteriorating fast. You could feel it through his Golden Core. It was hardly running through his body anymore, focused more centrically in his head where it seemed to be attempting to repair his ailment.
And one morning when you had come in from gathering water from the well to bathe him, he was gone.
Which had left you to turn to demonic cultivation in order to bring him back. You had tried for months, talismans and parchment papers filled with all sorts of runes and protection for his body. You left all of your medicinal appointments, solely focusing all of your time and energy, physical, mental and spiritual, on bringing him back.
And as if a stroke would have it, you did. You really did it. Through all of the emotional rollercoasters, through the ups and the downs, you brought your best friend back from the other side.
Zhao Gang was alive... but he wasn’t the same. He had black in his veins and his eyes devoid of most of mortality -- he couldn’t go anywhere, see anything, do anything but sit inside and wait for you each day. He was miserable, you could see it even though he never voiced anything.
And then the two of you had a knock on the front door of your home, a small apothecarial shack just east in the woods of Caiyi. That day would be the worst of your life, because on the other side of that door lay the judgement you were served in the moment now.
Zhao Gang, your only connection you had to anything fighting for, your best friend, whilst you rebuilt your name that had tarnished in the months you were struggling in the arts of demonic cultivation, had slaughtered a nearby small clan in cold blood. You were slapped with the charges of demonic cultivation, abuse of a corpse, and other charges as such, and would await your sentencing by the Lanling Jin Clan.
You were being transported there, being dragged up the steps and into the Judgement Hall of the Koi Tower, where you were evidently thrown to your knees before the leader, Grand Cultivator Jin Guangshan.
God, how the smug look that seemed to take ownership of that man’s face for all hours of the day made your blood boil. How he looked down on you like you were some lowlife cultivator that had nothing better to do than to raise the dead. That you wanted to do it because it gave you gratification to watch the dead belittle the living and murder them.
They had it all wrong, and despite your best efforts, you knew it wasn’t going to end well for you.
You could recognize the robes of the Great Four Clans, sitting in an oval pattern to face you, having been thrown to the floor by the guards transporting you. Thankfully you managed to land on your side, rather than flat on your face, and you struggled to get up with muffled grunts -- you would not let them win, they would never beat you down to where you couldn’t get back up. You looked around, making eye contact with each of the Clan Leaders.
Nie Mingjue, Leader of Qinghe Nie Clan. Hatred embedded on his features it would take years to scrape it off for something new.
Jiang Cheng, Leader of Yunmeng Jiang Clan. Indifferent. A mystery no one could ever figure out what went on inside his thoughts other than his work.
Lan Qiren and Lan Xichen, Leader of Gusu Lan Clan; as well as jurisdictional leaders over the area where your crime was committed. While all clans were involved, they truly had the final say so.
Jin Guangshan, Leader of Lanling Jin Clan. With a smirk you wanted to claw off of his face
Everyone in the Judgement Hall looked down on you in different gazes. Some in disappointment, some in anger, others in pride. However, failed to notice a single pair of dark brown eyes beneath a red jeweled brow that seemed to look at you in wonder. Demonic cultivation was nearly unheard of in these times, in this era, and it amazed him how someone from such a blank slated background could achieve something so powerful.
Everyone watched as you were humiliated before the
“The judgement for [ Y/L/N ] [ Y/F/N ] shall commence. Zixun,” Jin Guangshan spoke, and the man in question stepped forward with a scroll. “Read the charges placed against Cultivator [ Y/L/N ].”
Jin Zixun opened the scroll, it wasn’t terribly long, but long enough to know that some of those charges had to be doctored.
“The charges in question are, but not limited to,” Jin Zixun began, “the first, the most prominent, demonic cultivation.” Whispers were heard around the room, and your hands shook from anger, the chains rattling, but regardless you took a deep breath and kept quiet. He then continued on with his list.
“Medicinal malpractice on those in the town of Caiyi. Abuse of a corpse. And finally, murder, massacre of an entire evolving small clan of cultivators.”
Medicinal malpractice? Where had that come from? You were helping the people of Caiyi, you had never intentionally or unintentionally hurt a patient. You had never gotten a wrong diagnosis and each of your treatments had worked every single time.
“That wasn’t my intent!” You could stay silent no longer, shocking the entire Judgement Hall at your outburst. “I will admit to doing the unthinkable and raising the dead. I will admit to the acts of demonic cultivation.” You blurted out, “but I will not sit here and allow you to paint my name in a murder I did not commit!”
The Judgement Hall was quiet for a moment, before Jin Guangshan began to laugh. His laugh spurred on those of Jin Zixun, and others before nearly the entire hall was reverberating in laughter. The only ones who were still silent remained the Gusu Lan Clan, and one son of the Jin Clan. The dismay on their faces told stories, but part of you really wondered if it was because of you, or because of their peers.
“You think it is us? That we are responsible for slandering your name?” Jin Zixun chuckled, walking forward to yank you up by your arm, “you have managed to do that all alone. Single handedly. Do not cause a tantrum simply because we call you out on it-”
“Zixun.” Jin Guangshan called smoothly, just barely stopping Zixun’s hand in time before it connected with your face. “This is not how we handle our judgements publicly. She will be tried here and given her sentencing. But first,” his attention turned to the Gusu Lan leader.
“I do not believe that this is the correct treatment for a trial of this magnitude in the Judgement Hall, Young Lord Jin.” Lan Xichen’s soft voice called out, and you were once again cast to the ground in a fit of anger from the man holding you up. “’Correct treatment’?! She murdered an innocent sect in cold blood! She deserves to be kil-”
“Zixun! Enough!” A loud voice boomed from the back of the Judgement Hall, and your head snapped up to be faced with none other than the other son of Jin -- more correctly, the Crowned Prince Jin Zixuan. He had finally had enough of his cousin’s insolence. He was making a mockery of himself in front of others, and as the next in line for the throne he wouldn’t have it.
Not only that, Jin Zixuan wanted to hear what you had to say for yourself. Because despite the accusations against you, something inside of him was drawn to you. Drawn to the increasing possibility that you didn’t do a lot of what you were accused of.
You had already admitted to at least one of the worse things on your list of charges, but something about you... just didn’t sit right.
“Given that the crimes occurred in our jurisdiction,” Lan Qiren spoke up, his old, wise voice giving reason to the squabbling sects in between, “I propose that she be allowed to speak her truth from her point of view.”
“What good would that do? How are we to prove she is lying or speaking truth?” Nie Mingjue added in, eyes narrowing on your form, hunched over.
That was when you spoke out in the silence, filling it with your own voice. “You took away from me the closest thing I have to family. What reason do I have to lie? I own no property nor livestock. I have no vitality left in my name. Nothing left to hold on to. My life after this, should I have one, is ruined. So again I ask you, all of you,” you stood up on shaky, weak legs, and turned to Nie Mingjue, “what reason do I have to lie?”
As expected when you told your story, half of the cultivators in the room wanted nothing to do with it; this whole trial to them was simply an inconvenience to their daily lives running their sects. However, the one opinions that you needed to matter, did. Those of the Gusu Lan Sect.
“So this crime in fact was not a crime of malicious intent.” Lan Xichen said, “it was simply for retribution for a lost friend.” He sighed, standing up alongside Lan Qiren who followed shortly after. “However, whilst that may be true, we cannot ignore the lives whom were slain as a result of the ghost puppet born again in your companion’s image.”
“Or the blatant fact that she committed an act most unforgiveable. Demonic cultivation is not a charge that can be dropped so easily. And the result of that ended in a slaughter of a nearby innocent clan.” Lan Qiren turned to Jin Guangshan, “bring in the ghost puppet. If he still remains most of his mental state, we will try him separately. Otherwise if he is deemed mentally incompetent than we will continue with trying them together.”
The doors were slammed open and harsh gasps and growls were heard; and you could hardly bare it as the one you came to know as your best friend was thrown down beside you, being restrained by two guards on either side. The chains that held him tightly were cutting so deeply into his skin, you worried that his limbs they were attached to would fall off.
He was too far gone, and would suffer because you were too stubborn and soft to let him go the way it was intended.
“Zhao Gang... I’m so sorry-” You whispered, holding back your tears as best as you could --  you wouldn’t cry, not in front of Jin Guangshan and the rest of the council.
Questions were asked to Zhao Gang, if he knew what his name was, how old he was, where he was, all were met with the same answer -- vicious and ferocious snarling like a dog who hadn’t been fed in days. And as they ran their tests for his competence, it was clear what the answer was.
However, you remained indifferent to everyone’s eyes, staring off as the exhaustion of holding up your front as well as these past few days began to take a huge toll on you.
“I believe we have come to a decision, as well as a sentence for the both of them given that there seems to be nothing left of his spiritual nor collective consciousness.” Lan Qiren said, and everyone sat up straighter as the verdict as well as the sentencing was nearing the horizon.
“We, the Gusu Lan Sect, do find Cultivator [ Y/L/N ] [ Y/F/N ] guilty of the acts of demonic cultivation. We find her not guilty of all other charges, however are being held responsible for the deaths of the innocent sect. We find the ghost puppet, formerly known as Zhao Gang guilty of all charges, including murder.”
You could feel a weight on your chest. If you were guilty for only one of the many charges placed against you, and held responsible for one that was Zhao Gang’s, what would the punishment be? What would Zhao Gang’s punishment be?
“We sentence, for his crimes, Zhao Gang to death. It is where he was before and it is where he shall remain. Fate dealt him death, it is not our decision to go against fate.” Lan Xichen said, and your heart sank with his solemn words. “[ Y/L/N ] [ Y/F/N ],“ Lan Qiren spoke up, and your head lifted to face him.
“We, The Gusu Lan Sect, sentence you to solitary exclusion and confinement for the rest of your days.”
Pairing: Untamed girls x gn!reader
Tumblr media
Jiang Yanli:
Tumblr media
Wuxian had ran off again, courtesy of Jiang Cheng
more specifically the dogs that he had sent Wuxian's way
everyone had been searching for hours, the sky had already turned dark when a last resort was made
you walked in, you were probably the same age as Yanli (14 years old)
which surprised some people, including the girl
you kneeled on the ground, starting where they knew that Wuxian had run off
you walked carefully, hand remaining on the ground as you traced your fingers through the sand
you stopped only after ten minutes or so
freezing in your spot before shushing the family behind you
a deer stood on your path, unmoving as it stared
then, most expectingly, you approached the deer
now Yanli had tried this before as a child
always curious about the wildlife that surrounded her home
always unsuccessful, the animals scattered immediatley after noticing her
yet, the deer approached you and laid its head in your hands
you calmly whispered to the deer, petting it before letting it run off
"Will you come down now?"
you called out to seemingly no one, but looking up to the top of the trees
Wuxian's voice called back softly, asking if the dogs were around
Yanli called out this time, telling him that Jiang Cheng and his dogs had remained at the house
soon enough, Wuxian was climbing down the tree like he wasn't just an eight year old
you gave the kid a smile, picking him up as he waddles your way
he fell asleep the second you hand him to Yanli
she thanks you with a smile before inviting you to stay
she could hardly let you leave at this hour
you end up staying in her room next to her
(much to her mother's disappointment)
you don't sleep much, Yanli insists on questioning you
because she needs to know how you do it
you explain that you can talk to the animals and read the ground
it's like second nature, which she doesn't really get
she asks questions throughout the night
you don't sleep
she insists that you write her through your travels
and you do, which forms a bond with her
which may turn into love later in life
Luo Qingyang:
Tumblr media
she was pissed when she first met you
not at you, of course
she didn't even know you, so how could she possibly be pissed at you?
rather at Jin Zixuan
because he's an ass, like usual
she finds herself by the river to calm down, soon surrounded by some birds and rabbits
one bird approaches her first
a cute drongo bird sits on her leg, staring straight at her with curiosity
she's careful to pet it, but it melts underneath her fingers
"He likes you."
your voice is gentle, soft enough to not spook the animals around her
you sit down, a bit closer than Mianmian liked
you notice and scoot a bit further away
in a second, you're surrounded by all the animals
excluding the drongo bird, who stayed close by the girl
she just stares at it confusion before asking how you know
and you're kind enough to explain it
she lights up, smiling brightly and basically vibrating from excitement
get ready for the weirdest pop-quiz ever
because she had questions
a lot of questions
and she ain't leaving until she gets answer
you got there at ten in the morning, you leave when the sun starts to dissapear beneath the tree line
logically, you miss all classes of the day
not that either of you care much
Mianmian speaks bluntly, anything the girl thinks will spout from her mouth
which makes it certain that you will never be stuck in silence around her
but you listen to every single thought, smiling softly the whole way back
you get caught by Jin Zixuan
her mood drops immediately as she glared at the male
you split up, but you send a wink her way before whisteling softly
which leads to a flock of birds to swoop down at Zixuan, messing his hair up and ripping his clothes
you can see the corners of Mianmian's lips lift as she tries to hold her laughter
she'll come to you everytime after he annoys her in any way
but she also just hangs out with when she has free time
Wen Qing:
Tumblr media
she meets you later in her life
curtesy of the whole Wen massacre
more specifically in burial mounds
even though the grounds were long decayed from the years of dark energy that hung around, animals had started returning when Wuxian had neutralized part of the forest and mountain
she had warned Wuxian of the trouble it could bring
so when you arrived at the base, she could only give Wuxian the typical "I told you so"-look
luckily, you mean no harm to anyone
you don't care for the opinions of the higher groups against the Wens, you care more for the human lives that were lost because of the feud
seeing how they live just made your stomach twist, because no one deserves to live like a hunted animal
especially not because of someone else's mistakes
you keep yourself busy with Yuan, he is fascinated with the animals and you don't mind indulging him
Wen Qing keeps her eyes on the two of you the whole time
two reasons
one, she viewed Yuan as a little brother and wanted to know if he was safe
two, she was fascinated by the fact that you were able to communicate with the forest and its inhabitants
you seemed to constantly be aware of the animals surrounding you and how the forest felt in a way
sometimes she even caught you staring in the distance with a sad look
she approached you later in the evening, when she caught you once more
you don't even look away from the forest as you answer
"the forest is crying"
it was a simple statement, yet it held so much meaning when you said it
and when Wen Qing looked to the forest, she could almost sense what you meant
maybe it was the creaking of the wood or the cries of animals, but she could believe what you said with ease
she had heard weirder stuff before (unfortunately)
from then on, she caught you more often as you stared into the forest
and every evening, the two of you talked
somedays it was about the forest, but other days you just talked
about past events, life or just yourself
and after a few conversations, you are sure that you didn't want to leave
