You opened your eyes to see a bland white ceiling. It didn't take you long to guess where you were. The IV in one arm and heart rate monitor quickly confirmed your guess. You pushed yourself up in your bed and then heard a familiar and soothing voice nearby.
"I'm so glad you're awake." The voice belonged to Cas and when you turned to look at him he had a teary smile on his face, but his brow was still creased with worry.
"Cas," you breathed, smiling back and relaxing some, now that you knew he was nearby.
"How are you feeling?" he asked, getting up and coming over to stand at the side of your bed.
"Okay, I guess. All things considered..."
He looked grim for a moment, his mouth turning down in a regretful frown. "I'm sorry I couldn't—I wish I could just—"
"I know. It's okay," you said, reassuring him. Without his grace, you knew how helpless he felt. To sit by when you were hurt so seriously, at first not even knowing if you'd pull through, had been agony for the angel. Glancing around, looking for signs of Sam and Dean, you finally noticed the bouquets of flowers and cards that seemed littered across every surface. "...where'd this all come from?" you asked with surprise.
"Well... you have admirers, apparently."
You noted that he didn't seem particularly happy about it.
"Obviously we tried to keep everything that happened a complete secret. So, naturally it leaked out into the hunting community," Cas explained. "These all started showing up the day after you arrived here." He fiddled with a stray leaf that had dropped off the nearest bouquet.
You quirked an eyebrow up at the somewhat sour expression on his face. "Cas..." He looked over at you again, his blue eyes as bright as ever. "Do you really think I'm suddenly going to fall for some random hunter because they sent me a bunch of flowers or a cheesy 'get well' card?"
He looked a little stunned. The angel tended to forget that you were far better at reading him than most.
"You're the one who was sitting here at my bedside, as I'm sure you have been this whole time," you said, giving him a fond smile. "If you still haven't figured it out, I only have eyes for you. I guess something about almost dying makes me want to tell you very clearly."
Cas gulped. A weight seemed to lift off him.
You shifted yourself over carefully to make a little room on the edge of your bed. "Come sit up here with me. Please?"
He would never refuse such a request, especially with you still looking small in the hospital bed and a little pale. All he wanted was to be by your side and make sure you felt safe and cared for.
Prompt: "...where did all this come from?" / "You have admirers, apparently."

Day 17: King of Hell
“... and I'm saying no!”
“Dean, you always do this. You don't control me, you can't tell me what to do. Just because we're married, doesn't mean I'm your pet to boss around-”
“I'm not saying that, you always put words in my mouth.”
“Ooh did I come in the middle of some juicy squabbling?”
Dean and Cas both turn towards Crowley with identical scowls on their faces.
“Whoa, whoa, squirrel, feathers, I'm here just to make a deal.”
“No deal. Out.”
Crowley puts his hand on Dean's shoulder, making Castiel angrier.
“Get your hand off of him.”
Squeezing Dean's shoulder before he lets go, he smirks at Cas, “Awww are you still upset about what happened ages ago? Dean was a demon. He was willing to do everything to be a bad boy.”
Smiling wide at Cas, Cas punches him right in the face, knocking him down on his butt. Dean simply rolls his eyes, “Cas. We've talked about this. It was a long ass time ago, didn't mean anything to me. Let it go.”
Still scowling over Crowley, he answers Dean, “Never.”
Picking himself up, he brushes off his suit, “like I was saying, I need your help in tracking my mother. You give me her, I give you back your book.”
“You're just a petty little King of Hell, Crowley.” Cas furiously says.
“Deal?”
Sighing, Cas looks at Dean and nods, Dean crosses his arms, “Fine, deal.”
“You know how I seal my contracts, Dean.”
Castiel pushes Crowley back a foot with a forceful hand, “You're changing that part.”
“And miss my kiss with your husband? Why would I want to do that?”
“Because if you kiss my husband, I will rip your heart out where you stand.”
“Cassie, such a flirt.”
Dean clears his throat, getting both guys’ attention, “I said it was a deal but no, I’m not kissing you. Especially not in front of my husband.”
Crowley looks at him up and down with a smirk on his face, “You wanna take it to your bedroom?”
As soon as those words get asked, Dean steps around Crowley to stop Cas from taking out his angel blade.
“Cas, dammit!”
“He’s outwardly coming on to you, Dean. In front of me. I will not have this!”
Dean calls for Sam to help out. As soon as Sam comes out of his bedroom, he freezes, “Holy shit! Crowley! What the hell?”
“Hello, Moose. I just need a little help of tracking down my mother-”
“Rowena? Rowena’s on vacation in Malibu. Some kind of fancy resort.”
“How-how do you know that?” Crowley asks in disbelief.
“She keeps sending me selfies of herself.”
Cas crosses his arms and faces Crowley, “There you go. We helped, now give us back our book.”
Crowley snaps his fingers and Cas and Dean’s wedding book appears on the map table. Sam looks at the book, “Seriously, Crowley? You stole their wedding photography book? Why?”
“I like seeing my Dean happy.”
Cas goes for his pocket once again, Dean stopping him by his wrist, “Cas, honey, you have me, not Crowley.”
Dean kisses Cas and smiles at Crowley, “Go to Hell, Crowley.”
“No kiss for me?” After winking at Dean, he vanishes.
"I hate that guy."
“I know, Cas, I know.”

Making dinner, thinking about the writing exercise/character study thing I'll never finish. How it would've ended with Sam convincing Dean to sleep with him at the end of s3, because he's not going to be able to save him from Hell and Sam believes his feelings for Dean are sending him to Hell eventually anyway so Dean can at least give him this. And Dean says yes because he wants to, praying Sam doesn't really have the same fate as him.
But that's just preamble to what I was really thinking about:
When Sam finally gets the opportunity to ask Castiel if he's really going to Hell for how he feels about Dean, Cas says yes. Because he wants Sam out of the way. 👀

Dean Winchester likes to push his boyfriend's buttons. Especially if he's jealous.
This was loosely based off of an idea I saw on tiktok (i know) about how Dean and Elliot Ness hooked up in that one episode because Elliot Ness looked a bit like Cas (because Misha played Elliot Ness) and it was a whole thing. I forgot which tiktok it was so I can't link it, unfortunately.
But anyways, banter ensues then sex ensues because I have no shame. Enjoy.

How would Cas react if Gortash SUDDENLY wanted to lose weight (hardly. But purely if we assume)😔😔
did you have to use this font
ok jk but if Gortash genuinely brought up wanting to lose weight Cas would (more subconsciously than anything) manipulate him until he just... drops it😖 I doubt Gortash would ever bring it up and seriously plan on doing it since he's you know, letting Cas do all of that for a reason but Cas would take it so soooo very personally like Cas would actually be deeply hurt by it. Going through the emotions type of reaction he'd go from being angry to literally being sad nd having a mental breakdown over it tbh
Cas he's kinda... this is from an outside perspective obviously he would never describe it as such but it's a weird act out of love and affection (which makes sense if you consider that he was always seen nd treated as a weapon that only brings harm so his ways of showing love is weirdly destructive). So if Gortash genuinely wanted to lose weight he'd have the same reaction as he would if he got rejected, and Cas has INSANE issues with rejection (smth smth the reason why he strives for perfection physically is also out of his fear of being declined or rejected). Anyways if it came to it Cas would very much try and manipulate him in an effort to keep what he wants the most (which is Gortash, yes, and technically it's not about the weight however, again, him wanting to lose it would literally sound the same as him saying he doesn't want Cas to "own" him anymore to Cas) nd it would lean into directions of like.... "I'm literally giving you everything, making sure you're alright and you can't even give me THAT?"
