The original Twilight director, Catherine Hardwicke mentioned who she thinks would be a good cast to play the characters if Twilight got a reboot. 😆

So I thought it would be fun to make my own but I just did the main cast to make it easier. 😅

When I was a teenage girl, Twilight was sooo popular. I read the entire book series and I also watched the original Twilight movies, which now get teased as a "silly teenage vampire romance" but it was very successful at the time. 😝

I remember Catherine mentioned how when she first met the fans, she saw Twilight was not just popular with white teenage girls and the fans were actually diverse because the book series had captured the hearts of girls from all different races. 🤭

Being a young black woman myself now, I respect that Catherine originally wanted Twilight to have a more diverse cast - for example, she specifically wanted Alice to be played by a Japanese actress - and I agree with her that an asian Alice was a wonderful idea! 💯

But unfortunately, the Twilight author Stephenie Meyer was against it and she pushed for the Twilight cast to be a majority of white people - which I think was very toxic and problematic.

I also know what was considered "acceptable" back in the early 2000s would not be accepted today. 😅

I am against the old-fashioned prejudice idea that vampires can only be attracted to white humans. 😒

Or that only white people can be vampires. 😑

That logic is racist and offensive.

But also, just ridiculous to have a cast full of 95% white people is NOT modern at all. 🙄

Especially because the Twilight vampires are all about beauty and instead of just having white beauty standards it is important to show there is beauty in all races. 😍

So I would like if Twilight did get a reboot that it is cast with beautiful actresses and actors of different races. ❤️
