So wild that my favorite ship (Yami Bakura x Ishizu) has gone through two name changes.
Exoticshipping (oldest. Changed for being problematic)
Compasshipping (changed because the name didn't make sense for the ship)
Museumshipping (the newest one! Currently no issues)

When playing a visual novel/interactive fiction with an undefined MC, how much do people want to decide about them in the game?
e.g just their name and pronouns, or their apperance, or even their personality/history?

sometimes i wonder how many posts slip through the cracks because i spend so much time answering every question and replying to every snarky comment that i can barely just scroll through the pages of my fellow companies

I'm gonna be honest and say that i wanted FCG to stay "single" because i read the character as someone that doesn't really understand the intrinsic reality of romance and sexuality but is honest and wholeheartedly curious and willing to be a witness to it, which is why i feel FCG pushed so much for people to build good and healthy relationships with other people.
Now, with that said, i was kicking my feet and tossing around like a teenager when FCG and Frida were being cute together

i wasn't going to comment bc i'm not used to but, "So Long, London" having a instrumental with a few "crescendos" sprinkled in like its only building up but it never gets there

Professor Layton fans,
The massive explain-it-all-was-fake twists have been a staple of the franchise since its inception, going between robots, hallucinatory gas, actors, and machines.
Yet the vast majority of fan reviews I read seem to dislike them.
Is this just a loud minority or is it actually a sticking point? Do you wish the strange occurances could be real or do you just wish the reveal had been executed differently?
I’m interested in people’s thoughts.

maybe Klieg's species aren't typically screen writers/directors, they're usually just part of the operating crew, so Klieg had to really work hard to get where he is? And then Mike and Host just waltz into the channel owners one day and he doesn't know what they did to deserve it vs him?
In a way yeah :) There's a certain nuance to him being a spotlight, they are part of the operating crew, a type of object meant not to draw attention to itself but to highlight something else.
I feel like Klieg envies Mike in this way, because he explicitly goes against what the Microphone Darkners are meant to do, which is to boost the voices of others at best, being support enemies at worst, but no more than that.
And it's this feeling of "Mike only gets away with it because Host is protecting him" that Klieg senses and it annoys him just the tiniest bit :'D
Mike and Host are the founders of the Channels, but their success being Gaster-based is not public knowledge haha But Host always has the final word as to who gets to be part of the Cathode's Crew.
Mike would empathize with a fellow darkner stepping out of his designated role, but he can sense Klieg's dislike of him from a mile away, and while he's used to being disliked like that, unfortunately, that dislike very much influences Host's opinion of you :'D

In love with the idea that after dream smp, after all this time, all these years, he lives as the catalyst and force of so much and yet remains the same person he was before, unchanged and willing to walk away onto something else;
And who's to say this is the first time he's been somewhere like this? who's to say it's the last? because we don't know but we know what he's like and that's what matters
It might not be what actually happened sure but I kinda like to think that part of him is like this, still, despite all of it

this is a poster i made for my call to action assignment in humanities! it's a bunch of basic and easy stretches for people who sit and work at a desk all day (me)
the idea is that you'd put the poster up above ur desk and do the stretches every 30 minutes or so,, the whole routine won't take more than about 6 minutes to complete and when done regularly it can prevent wrist, shoulder, neck and back pain! :)
all these stretches can be done while sitting (although i HIGHLY recommend you stand up and move around while taking a break from working)
you can get a free digital copy of this poster here on my gumroad!
and you can order a print/poster here from my inprnt!

I'm getting so sick of major female characters in historical media being incredibly feisty, outspoken and public defenders of women's rights with little to no realistic repercussions. Yes it feels like pandering, yes it's unrealistic and takes me out of the story, yes the dialogue almost always rings false - but beyond all that I think it does such a disservice to the women who lived during those periods. I'm not embarrassed of the women in history who didn't use every chance they had to Stick It To The Man. I'm not ashamed of women who were resigned to or enjoyed their lot in life. They weren't letting the side down by not having and representing modern gender ideals. It says a lot about how you view average ordinary women if the idea of one of your main characters behaving like one makes them seem lame and uninteresting to you.

do you guys ever think about how Wyll is introduced as an archetypal fantasy hero, but then it turns out he’s a warlock, who made a pact with a devil. Do you ever think about how Ansur is described as this fantastical dragon of myth, but then when you find him, he’s turned into an undead monstrosity. Do you think about how when Wyll does the right thing, he is punished to become more monstrous. Do you think about how as Wyll’s warlock powers grow, his spells get more horrific. Do you think about how Ansur was killed by his closest friend. Do think about how Wyll was cast out by the most important person in his life. do you guys ever think about Ansur and Wyll.
